 Chapter 1- Alphas & Omegas

    Chapter 1


    A little over 50 years ago a meteorite hit the earth and was carrying a disease. No one got sick or died, and at first it only changed hair colors. People suddenly had pink, purple and all other sorts of colors. The colors were all random so some still had normal colors. A new side effect of the disease started to appear which were abilities.


    The hair colors meant nothing since even the people without abilities could have the same color as someone who does. Forty percent of the worlds population gained these abilities. A cult of ability users who called themselves omegas believed they were superior to normal people who they called alphas.


    Most omegas backed the cult and it led to a world war. The alphas out numbered the omegas, but their abilities allowed them to take the victory. The alphas became slaves to the omegas who then created a city as the starting point for the new world.


    This city was created on a man made island which was given the name Atlantis after the famous lost city.


    I listened as the teacher talked about the birth of omegas and how the current society was created. I''m Cyrus Adkins a 17 year old high schooler living in Atlantis. I have no family and live alone.


    I''m about six foot three with a slender athletic build and short black hair.


    Teacher:"Cyrus would you please tell the class about alphas current social status here in Atlantis."


    Cyrus:"Yes sir. Currently most of the citizens of Atlantis are omegas, but we do have alphas around to do jobs that most people dislike. Some alphas are also personal slaves and are promoted to a higher standing in society depending on the influence of the person that owns them."


    Teacher:"Good now on to the next part."


    The alphas are denied schooling unless their owner gets them a private teacher. In my class right now there are three alphas who are here because they are slaves to some of the omega students.


    There is a supreme ruler of all omegas who lives here in Atlantis. A battle is held once the current ruler is no longer strong enough to be considered the strongest. Omegas from all over the world gather here for the chance to become the supreme omega. Smaller tournaments are held all over the world to find the best fighters before sending them off to Atlantis.


    The current supreme is old so they have decided to start the tournament. All the omegas in the city are excited that they can test their powers and possibly become the next supreme omega.


    Teacher:"Ok that''s enough for today your all dismissed. Watch out on your way home Shadow has been showing up a lot lately."


    Everyone:"Yes teacher."


    Shadow is the name of a guy who has been hunting omegas during the night. There were some who believed he was a part of the alpha rebel group that sometimes attacks this city, but he has yet to claim an affiliation so no one knows for sure.


    Mia:"Lets walk to the train station together Cyrus."


    Cyrus:"Sure."


    This pink haired girl was Mia. She is about five foot eight with a medium sized bust and small adorable features. Mia is an omega with the ability to harden her skin. She is also the reason I even go to this school. I wanted to get close to her so I enrolled here. As we walked towards the train station I noticed that Mia seemed a little nervous.


    Mia:"Would you like to come over this weekend again?"


    Cyrus:"Yes I love visiting your home."


    She smiled at me with a little red visible on her cheeks.


    Mia:"I''m sure grandfather would be happy to see you too."

    Cyrus:"So he''ll be home for my visit?"


    Mia:"Yes.......is that a problem?"


    Cyrus:"No it''s fine."

    We separated at the train station and I went home. I cooked my diner and changed into dark clothes and a hoodie. I left my home with the hood up and went to a nearby park.


    Cyrus:"Ok nobody''s around ''Activate''."


    I was instantly covered in a black suit that appeared out of nowhere. (Here''s what it looks like.)

    I dashed off at an incredible speed and arrived at my destination. I had been scoping this place out for a while now and knew that they had three fire users, one teleporter and an ice user.

    I crept inside and found the teleporter first then crushed his wind pipe. I knew if a fight broke out he would be the trickiest to deal with so I had to finish him first. The two fire users and ice user were finished in the same way. Now it was time to meet with the person I came here to see.


    He was the third fire user and a guard here. I walked into a break room for the guards where he was having a snack. I removed my invisibility and he noticed me right away.


    Guard:"Shadow!"


    I jumped towards him and grabbed both of his wrists.

    Starting from where I held his wrists ice began to spread and froze both of his arms.


    Guard:"Aaahhhhhhhh!!"


    Cyrus:"I''ve stopped you from using your fire so tell me about July 14th seven years ago."


    Guard:"What are you talking about!"


    Cyrus:"Seven years ago you were part of a group that attacked a lab of alphas who were doing research. There is no record of the attack ever happening so tell me who hired you."


    Guard:"I don''t know what your talking about!"


    I broke of his frozen left arm.


    Guard:"Aaaaaahhhh! I really don''t know! Please don''t kill me!"

    I would gain no new information from him so I killed him.


    Cyrus:"This is the third time now."


    I said with a sigh. This guy was a dead end so I returned to the park.


    Cyrus:"Deactivate."


    The suit disappeared and I was wearing my hoodie again. I returned home and went to sleep thinking about how I''ve gotten no new info lately.

 Chapter 2- Rank

    Chapter 2


    Mia and I have all of our classes together since the two of us are a pair. This school Crehon High matches their students up to form pairs who usually fight together. Matches between all omegas in the school are held every year to determine your rank. Everyone has two rankings one for their pair and an individual one.


    The rankings range from F to SSS which makes 21 different ranks. Mia and I have a pair ranking of CC which is close to the middle. Mia''s individual rank is CCC while mine is C. Today we have a check up to see if there have been any new developments in our abilities.


    Health Teacher:"Ok Cyrus you seem fine, but I think you need to get some more sleep."


    Cyrus:"I''ve been spending a lot of time training lately, but I''ll be sure to get some rest tonight."


    I walked over to the next teacher who was going to test my abilities and he looked at my student ID then pulled up my info on a tablet.


    Teacher:"Ok so your ability is peak human potential."


    Cyrus:"Yes."


    Teacher:"That just barely makes you an omega. It says increased strength, speed, durability, stamina and all of your senses."


    Cyrus:"Yes."


    Teacher:"Ok here."


    He gave me a bar to bend that would measure my strength. I bent it and he took a look.


    Teacher:"This is a little more than peak human potential. No matter how hard an alpha worked he could never get this level of strength. That''s enough to ahead."


    I was done with my examination so I went to wait in the gym with the other students who were done.


    Mia:"Hey Cyrus over here!"


    Mia was waving at me so that I would join her so I did. She was sitting alone in her gym clothes which is what everyone was wearing.


    Cyrus:"So you finished already. Did anything change with your abilities?"


    Mia:"My scales got stronger."


    Mia has the ability to harden her skin which gives her a reptilian look with scales all over her body. Even her pink hair gets scaly.


    Cyrus:"That''s good."


    I sat down next to her and we talked for a while before we were finally sent back to class. We learn all the basics, but cultivation classes are the main focus at this school. We cultivate our abilities to become the strongest we can in preparation for graduation.


    Once an omega graduates they are sent away from Atlantis to fight on a real battlefield. The pairs are sent together to increase chances of survival. Most of the world is still a war zone and only some cities have returned to normal. Alpha rebels rarely ever make it into the omega cities so places like Atlantis are pretty safe areas.


    The war has continued thanks to omegas who don''t believe in ruling over alphas. The omegas also don''t use guns since they see it as an alphas weapon, but swords are ok. I laugh a little every time I hear a stupid omega got himself shot to death.


    Fire is the most common ability among omegas. I don''t understand why, but a lot of people have it. The principle here at Crehon High has a rare canceling ability which allows him to destroy any other abilities.


    He can stop a fire ball, destroy Mia''s scales or prevent a teleporter from leaving, but he has to have direct contact to stop a teleporter. It''s not uncommon to find two people with the same abilities. The current supreme has a mimic ability which allows him to use the abilities that he''s seen which is a super rare ability.


    Mia:"My grandfathers not going to be home today so can I come over to your place and cook for you?"


    Cyrus:"Sure I love eating your cooking."

    Mia doesn''t like being alone so whenever her grandfather stays out for business she likes to come over and eat dinner with me. She found out that I usually just pop something in the microwave to eat and decided that she would cook when she comes over.


    Today she took the train home with me. I live in an apartment complex with two rooms and one bath. One room is my bedroom and the other is my workout room. I have no pictures in my house and no kind of decoration. The couch and table in the living room are black and I have a flat screen in front of them. I unlocked the front door and we entered.


    Mia:"I''ll start cooking right away."


    She ran off to the kitchen and threw her bag onto my couch. I went to my room and put my bag up then changed. When I checked on her in the kitchen she was wearing an apron that she left here for days like this.


    Mia:"You can go watch tv until I finish."


    Cyrus:"Sure."


    I went to the living room and turned on the tv. I didn''t stay on any channel for long and Mia eventually finished cooking so I joined her at the table to eat.


    Mia:"I heard that shadow attacked someone again last night."


    Cyrus:"Really? I didn''t hear about it."


    Mia:"He broke into a software company, but all he did was attack and kill the guards."


    Mia clinched her fists.


    Mia:"He''s a murderer that needs to be brought to justice! He probably works for the rebels."


    Cyrus:"They''ll catch him eventually."


    I said while I took another bite.


    Mia:"How many people will he kill before he''s caught!"


    Cyrus:"We''re just students so we should leave shadow to the adults. I''ve told you before that if you try to go after him yourself I will stop you."


    Mia:"If we work together we can beat shadow!"


    Cyrus:"No. He''s killed many strong omegas even when they worked with their pair. I won''t let you do something stupid and get yourself killed."


    Mia:"I don''t want to watch anymore people die!"


    Cyrus:"Then I''ll help if your grandfather says it''s alright."


    Mia:"You know he would never let me go after shadow."


    Cyrus:"Exactly. If the supreme says you shouldn''t then you shouldn''t."


    Mia:"You always bring grandfather into this."


    Cyrus:"Because I know your a grandfathers girl."


    Mia:"Fine.....I''ll give up, but you owe me."


    Cyrus:"Sure."


    Mia:"I want ice cream everyday for a week."


    Cyrus:"You''ll get fat like that."


    Mia:"I''ll just increase my workout."


    We finished eating and I walked Mia to the train station.


    Mia:"See you tomorrow Cyrus."


    Cyrus:"Good night Mia."


    She got on the train and I went back home. I did a light workout before lying down.


    *I need to get some information on omegas with powers related to memories. Someone must have erased the memories of the men who attacked the lab.*


    I had the complete list of all the omegas involved in the attack seven years ago, but all of the ones I killed so far don''t remember it. The most important people are still unknown and that''s who actually ordered the attack.  Chapter 3- Supreme

    Chapter 3


    I woke up covered in sweat. I don''t have nightmares every night, but when I do I always wake up tired. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face then removed the sheets from my bed and tossed them in the laundry basket. I did my workout then made some toast.


    I got dressed and left for the train station. I met up with Mia at the stop near the school.


    Mia:"I talked to grandfather this morning and guess what."


    Cyrus:"What?"


    Mia:"He said we could help out with some of his work."


    Cyrus:"What exactly."


    Mia:"He said I couldn''t help catch shadow, but I could do some small jobs."


    The supreme is tasked with running the peace keeping agencies with in the city and is a representative of the omegas. Usually a new supreme isn''t picked until the previous one has grown to weak to fulfill his duties so this is the first time a supreme will be retiring. It won''t be long now before the tournament starts in order to find his replacement.


    Cyrus:"What kind of jobs will they be."


    Mia:"I don''t know yet. He said he''ll find one for us today."


    Cyrus:"This is just more work for me. I''ll do it, but your not getting that ice cream now."


    Mia:"That''s not fair!"


    Cyrus:"Then I''ll get you some today only."


    Mia:"....Fine."


    Mia said while pouting. I had a hard time paying attention in class since I felt so tired. During team combat class I told the teacher I wasn''t feeling well and went to lie down in the infirmary. I slept through most of the day and Mia came to get me after school.


    Mia:"You better not do this to often or your rank may drop."


    Cyrus:"There weren''t any ranked battles today right?"


    Mia:"Not today but they could have given us a surprise one."


    Cyrus:"I won''t do it again."


    Mia:"Ok. So I want chocolate with a scoop of vanilla."


    Cyrus:"Is that all."


    Mia:"And sprinkles."


    We entered an ice cream parlor near the school. I order our ice cream and we are it on the way to her house. I wasn''t looking forward to helping out the supreme, but I needed to go over to Mia''s house anyway for some info. She let me into her house and led me to her room.


    Mia:"I''ll go see if grandfather is home."


    Mia left the room and I sat down in a desk chair. She really liked to match with her hair color so pink had a strong presence in her room.


    Mia:"It looks like he''s not home yet, but I brought drinks."


    Mia handed me a cup and I took a sip.


    Cyrus:"I need to borrow your bathroom so excuse me."


    I got up and left the room, but I didn''t go to the bathroom. I entered her grandfathers study and glided over to his computer. I reached my hand toward it and wire like tentacles extended from it then attached to the computer.


    Cyrus:"Scan for omegas in the database with memory manipulation abilities."


    After a few seconds the tentacles disconnected from the computer and retreated back into my hand.


    Cyrus:"So it''s only three."


    I quickly left the room and entered the bathroom where I washed my hands then returned to Mia''s room.


    Mia:"Welcome back."


    Mia was sitting on her bed and I went back to the desk chair. I started attending Crehon High in order to get information on omegas so I was quite pleased when I became the pair to the supremes granddaughter. His personal computer holds records on all known omegas.

    I now had three new targets for shadow. The two of us talked until we heard the door open then close. Mia jumped up and ran out of the room, but I just sat there sipping on my drink. She eventually came back to the room.


    Mia:"Grandfathers ready to give us a job."


    I got up and followed Mia out of the room. I always felt a little nervous whenever I had to meet the supreme and now was no exception. We entered his study where he was sitting in his chair behind the desk.


    His hair had turned gray and he kept it pushed back. He wore a gray suit with a white shirt and it was obvious that he was very well built under that suit. His eyes were a deep blue that mesmerized you and his face had very few wrinkles. I can say that he was quite attractive for a man his age.


    Supreme:"So Cyrus you''d like to help with some of my work too."


    Cyrus:"Yes sir. I want to do whatever it takes to help make the lives of us omegas easier."


    I hated myself a little for saying that since I would actually love to make things more difficult for them.


    Supreme:"I can''t give you anything too hard."


    Cyrus:"It''s fine anything will work."


    Mia:"I want to take shadow down!"


    Supreme:"That is a job for someone else. Under no circumstances are you to try and apprehend shadow alone."


    Mia:"I know."


    Cyrus:"I promise that I will stop her if she does try."


    Supreme:"Thank you for watching over her."


    Cyrus:"No problem we are a pair after all."


    Mia:"I said I wouldn''t!"


    Supreme:"Now on to the job. Tomorrow I would like the two of you to escort an omega for me."


    Mia:"Where to?"


    Supreme:"They''re new here and would like a tour of the city."


    Cyrus:"So we just need to show them around."


    Supreme:"Yes."


    Mia:"That''s too easy. I want to find a rebel base or stop criminals."


    Supreme:"There are no rebel bases here in Atlantis and crime rates are down. Shadow is this cities only problem."


    Cyrus:"Where will we meet up with the person we''re suppose to escort?"


    Supreme:"I''ll send the address and time to your phone."


    Cyrus:"Do you need my number?"


    Supreme:"No I''ll get it from Mia. You can go now I have work to do."


    I saw him booting up his computer as Mia and I left the room. We hung out in her room for a while then went outside to do some sparring. I decided to leave before dinner since I didn''t want to eat with the supreme. I made it home and had a quick meal.


    I changed my clothes and put on a hoodie then left for a nearby park. I had three new targets with memory manipulation abilities and I could feel that this time I would find something out about the attack seven years ago.

 Chapter 4- Puppet

    Chapter 4


    I reached the house of my first target with my invisibility still on. It was a nice house with two floors. A stone fence surrounded it with an iron gate as the only entrance. There was a small shed behind it that I realized was actually a slave house. I knew that an alpha slave must live there. I hopped over the wall and walked across the lawn towards a window. I placed my hands on it.

    Heat Wave Activated

    My hands started to glow red and the the window quickly melted. She had a security system, but I used my suit to blocked the signal of all transmissions. The entire window had melted away so I slipped in. The room was dark so I activated night vision and realized I was in a living room.


    I glided quietly out of the room and up the stairs where my suit detected two heat signatures. I assumed it was the memory manipulator and his wife. I entered their room and stood by his wife then extended my hand out and a small ball materialized in it. I dropped it into the wife''s ear which didn''t seem to wake her up, but she did reflexively scratch.


    This was something I could only use on someone asleep and I called it the puppet pill. I then placed a small knife next to her. I waited a few minutes then went over to the memory omega and picked him up by his throat. A look of shock and confusion appeared on his face and he tried to scream, but I didn''t want that to happen so I squeezed. He understood the threat so I loosened my grip and he fell back onto his bed. After a minute of gasping for air he looked up at me.


    Memory Omega:"So shadows come to kill me."


    Cyrus:"I have a question for you."


    I pulled out the list of all people involved in the attack seven years ago and handed it over to him.


    Cyrus:"Do you know any of these people."


    The list had full names, aliases and a picture. He used one hand to hold the list and the other massaged his throat which must still be hurting.


    Memory Omega:"I don''t know them."


    He tried to had the list back to me, but I didn''t take it.


    Cyrus:"If you lie both you and your wife will die."


    I had looked into their history before coming here. They were a duo that married shortly after returning from a battlefield, but all information on what their missions were had been erased. It was the same for all three of the memory manipulators since it was a very useful ability that could basically erase some mistakes. I would need another chance to use the supremes computer in order to get access to those files.


    They had no kids and one alpha slave that they used as a maid. The wife had the typical fire abilities so I didn''t think they were who I was looking for, but I had to be sure.


    Memory Omega:"I''m not lying...I promise."


    Cyrus:"Are you sure."


    I pointed behind the man and he turned his head to look. What he saw was his wife standing beside their bed holding a knife to her own throat. He immediately turned his head back to me with a look of fear.


    Memory Omega:"Please don''t! I told you I don''t know them!"


    Cyrus:"I don''t believe you."


    The man looked back at his wife then at the list.


    Memory Omega:"I-I think I''ve heard of this one."


    He pointed to one of the men on the list.


    Cyrus:"Do you have a connection to an attack on an alpha research lab seven years ago and is that how you know this man?"


    I figured if he knew anything then he would have told me now so I didn''t think he was who I was after.


    Memory Omega:"I don''t know about an attack, b-but my wife and I did an extermination mission with him during our tour of duty."


    Cyrus:"When was that?"


    Memory Omega:"Eight years ago!"

    Cyrus:"What were you exterminating."


    He hesitated for a moment, but then opened his mouth to tell me with his eyes cast down.


    Memory Omega:"A group of rebel.....alphas."


    He knew that I was believed to be working with the rebels so it made him think twice before confessing. I no longer needed to question him since it was obvious he wasn''t the guy I was looking for.


    Cyrus:"I''m done with my business so I''ll leave now."


    Memory Omega:"Wait! What about my wife!"


    Cyrus:"She''s fine."


    He turned to look at her and saw that she was looking around the room with a confused look on her face.


    Memory Omega:"Dear!"


    The man ran over to his wife and embraced her with a look of joy on his face, but it soon contorted into pain. He looked down and saw the knife his wife was holding was jabbed into his side.


    Memory Omega:"Why?!"


    He fell to his knees and the knife slid out while still his wife''s hand. She didn''t seem to understand what just happened and looked at her hand holding the knife. She dropped it then covered her mouth with her hands as tears streamed down her face. I ran my hand straight through her chest and tour out her heart then threw it to the side.


    Memory Omega:"Y-you bastard."


    I turned to the man who was now lying on his back with his hand over the stab wound. My foot crushed his skull into paste then I extended tentacles out to absorbs some of his blood. This suit could learn new things if given samples of omega DNA. That''s how I obtained all of it''s current abilities including invisibility, heat wave, frost and the others I had.


    It could only perfectly mimic a few number of abilities one of which was invisibility, but I always seem to get something. I got heat wave from a normal fire users blood which just like frost need direct contact so I couldn''t through ice or fire balls.


    I made sure to leave a mess since I wanted fear of shadow to grow in the hearts of all omegas. I was their harbinger of death. I left quietly and returned home. One memory omega per night since I wanted to give the omegas time to spread the world of my latest target. I went to sleep with a sense of accomplishment welling up inside me because of my work.


    The next day I met up with Mia like usual and she said to me with anger in her voice..


    Mia:"Shadow killed again last night."


    Cyrus:"Why do you know that?"


    Mia:"Some men came to talk to grandfather this morning and I kind of listened in."


    Cyrus:"You know it''s illegal to listen in on the supremes meetings."


    Mia:"I had to! I could just tell it had something to do with shadow!"


    Cyrus:"He''s not your problem."


    Mia:"Of course he is! He kills omegas just like us! Don''t you feel like bringing him to justice!"


    Cyrus:"He will pay for his sins, but we will not be involved. Your still in school so let the professionals handle it."


    Her voice got lower and she lost the vigor she previously had.


    Mia:"I just......... want to stop the killing."


    Cyrus:"Your a good girl, but it would only trouble your grandfather if you tried to get involved."


    She was now barely audible.


    Mia:"I know."


    I placed my hand on her head and patted it.


    Cyrus:"We have our own job to do remember."


    Mia looked up at me and showed me a weak smile.


    Mia:"Your right. Grandfather gave us something important to do so I don''t have the time to go after shadow."


    Cyrus:"We have to prove to the supreme that we''re strong."


    I smiled at her and she seemed to cheer up. She ran ahead of me then stopped and turned around.


    Mia:"Lets do our best!"

    Chapter 5

    I was born with the ability to manipulate fire. I thought it was really cool when I was young, but as I grew older I found out it was a below average ability. Being able to create and manipulate fire was the most common ability, but I couldn''t create it. I had to have a source of fire or I would be helpless. When I became a teenager I joined a rough crowd and I started doing whatever I wanted.


    Guy 1:"Hey look at her!"


    My two friends and I were leaving a store we went to for cigarettes.


    James:"Which girl?"


    There was a rather large crowd walking around in front of the store since this was a shopping district.


    Guy 1:"That red head with the huge tits!"


    I glanced over the crowd and found the girl he was talking about. She had long red hair and an amazing body with all the right curves.


    Guy 2:"Tch!"


    James:"What''s wrong? Not your type?"


    Guy 1:"No he''s still mad cause his girl left him for another man. She was a red head too."


    Guy 2:"That red hair pisses me off!"


    Guy 1:"Then lets teach her a lesson."


    The three of us looked at each other and a sinister grin flashed across all of our faces then we followed after the girl. The crowd kept her from realizing she was being followed. She eventually ended up in a more isolated part and I moved in to distract her.


    James:"Hey! What''s your name."


    Girl:"Me?"


    She pointed to herself quizzically.


    James:"Yeah. I''m James."


    Girl:"Sorry I''ve something I need to do."


    She tried to get away, but I blocked her. Her eyes matched her hair and had a beautiful ruby like shine to them. I could smell a sweet fragrance coming from her which stirred me to get closer.


    James:"How old are you?"


    Girl:"Ummm.............16."


    She tried to step by me, but I stopped her.


    James:"Come on...play with me."


    She looked up at me and I could see anger in her eyes.


    Girl:"Move!"


    I had thought she was timid, but now she showed a more fierce side. I smiled at her as my two friend crept up behind her and covered her mouth then dragged her behind a building. I followed after them to join in on the fun.


    I was the self appointed leader of the group so obviously I would get to go first. My two friends held her down and I climbed on top. I started unbuckling my pants when one of my friends leaned in to lick her face. When he was close she jerked her head forward and tour a chunk out of his neck which cause him to release her and place both his hands on the wound.


    She pushed me with her free hand and I stumbled back. She jumped at my other friend who was holding her and then I noticed something different about her. Her mouth was open much wider than any normal humans and she had shark like teeth. I looked at my first friend and saw that the chunk she tour out had almost decapitated him. He was already dead then my other friend joined him only this time the entire neck was gone.


    His head rolled across the ground as the girl swallowed what was in her mouth. My two friends were dead and I had no way to protect myself without a source of fire. She approached me and knelt down in front of me. I no longer smelled that sweet fragrance only blood and death loomed in the air. Before I could do anything her mouth wrapped around my head and I could only see the darkness inside her throat then she bit down.

    April:"Fuck!"


    I ended up running late since I had to clean up three corpses. Disposal is easy with my ability, but they tasted horrible. I had to quicken my pace in order to make it back in time. When I entered my apartment there was a ringing sound coming from the bedroom. I went in and got the encrypted phone that I kept on the bedside table. I picked it up and answered it.


    April:"This is O.R. 1."


    Male voice:"O.R. 1 this is A. please confirm."


    April:"R.R.1.D.43.9.F2.6G."


    Male voice:"Confirmed. Status report."


    April:"Target has not been located. Three civilians killed, but disposed of. No request for assistance. End of report."


    Male voice:"Acknowledged. Continue mission."


    The call ended and I breathed out a sigh of relief.


    April:"I thought I was gonna miss it."

    I threw my purse onto my bed and plopped down next to it.


    April:"This isn''t a very easy mission."


    I sighed again as I thought about what I had to do. Shadow wasn''t a very easy person to find so I haven''t been able to make contact with him. I knew I wasn''t the only one the rebels sent, but I wanted to be the one who actually accomplished it.


    Shadow had killed quite a few skilled omegas and still hasn''t been caught so the rebels wanted to make contact with him and possibly have him join. My father was an alpha and my mother was an omega. I was born with an ability, but my brother was born as an alpha. Most of the time two omegas will give birth to an omega, but on some small occasions their child is born an alpha. The same applies for two alphas who have kids, but it''s very rare.


    My mother lived in this city then she was sent to do her tour of duty with her pair. The two of them were attacked and my mother barely made it out after her pair was killed. My father found her wounded and treated her without realizing she was an omega. Mother didn''t say anything since she needed his help. When she was finally better the two were already in love and she told him the truth. My father had a hatred towards omegas so he threw her out, but it immediately started eating away at him.


    He couldn''t deny that he loved her so he chased after her. Luckily she stayed close by and he was able to find her then he apologized over and over again. The two of them ended up getting married and they had two kids, but things were never stable since there was a constant war going on around them. The only free alphas left are the ones in the rebel army and they are forced to live like nomads unless your part of the "Base" which is where the leaders stay.


    My family doesn''t even know where the Base is so we''ve traveled around a lot. I wanted to help and was finally allowed to join the rebels when I turned 15. It''s only been a year and this is the first mission where I thought I wouldn''t have to kill anyone. I don''t have any problem with killing since I''ve been around it my entire life, but it feels like all the people I''ve killed haven''t helped to bring freedom to alphas. I thought that this mission would be different since it was to make contact with someone. I hoped that a change would occur, but all I''ve done so far is kill three omegas. It''s not any different from the missions I got before coming here.


    I found out today that shadow killed an omega with memory abilities and his wife last night. This time a picture was taken of him by a hidden camera in their room. He had on some kind if weird suit so his identity is still unknown. I couldn''t predict his patterns so I was feeling very frustrated. I let out another sigh before getting up.


    April:"Haa~ I guess I''ll go get something to eat."


    I picked up my purse and left. I went out to eat since I didn''t feel like cooking. The sun had already gone down after I ate and I was now walking back home. I noticed down the street that a young man with a hoodie on was going into a park.


    April:"What''s he doing at a park this late?"


    I was a little interested so I followed him. I had another reason to follow him and that was shadow was believed to live in this neighborhood. One of the other rebels that looking for him passed this information along to the rest so I thought maybe I''ll get lucky and the hoodie man is him. This wasn''t the first time I''ve had to tail someone so I knew to keep my distance.


    He stopped and looked around which forced me to hide. I couldn''t see him from behind this wall I was against so I poked my head back out and I saw a figure of a man disappear. I saw him from the back for a second, but I recognized him immediately. I looked around for a while, but couldn''t find him.


    I eventually gave up and went back to my apartment. I was very excited about seeing the hoodie guy. I knew that he had to be shadow which made my heart race. The thought that this mission would be accomplished by me filled me with joy.

    I woke up in my room like usual, but there was a problem.


    Cyrus:"What happened? The last thing I remember is leaving the park last night. Did I confront that other memory manipulator? How did I get back here?"


    I was very confused. I planned to go after the second person on my recent list of targets last night. I climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash my face. I had no memory of what I did after leaving the park so I assumed that I did meet the second memory omega. His name is Oscar.


    Cyrus:"Did I kill him? Does he know who I am?"


    I didn''t know how I got home so I was worried that my face or address was known. If the right people found out who shadow is then I could be killed. I was much more vulnerable when not wearing the suit so targeting me in my everyday life would be the easiest way to kill me. I decided to stay on high alert today, but I was still worried especially since I would be spending the day with Mia.


    The two of us were given an escort job by the supreme and we had to do it today. I took a shower then got dressed in a red shirt with black trousers and a blazer. Red was actually my favorite color so I was happy to be wearing it. I quickly made my way to where Mia and I were suppose to meet our escort target.


    I was quite early so I walked around the area trying to check if I was being followed. I wasn''t sure what happened last night so I had to be extra careful. There was a chill in the air, but my blazer was plenty for warmth. I have always loved the smell of cold air so I was enjoying my walk.


    Mia:"Heeeey!! Cyruuuuus!"


    I noticed Mia waving at me with a big smile on her face as she made her way towards me.


    Mia:"You got here before me."


    Cyrus:"I wanted to check out the area before the meeting."


    Mia was wearing a light pink sweater that was a little big on her and a black skirt with leggings.


    Mia:"So how do I look."


    She spun around in front of me.


    Cyrus:"You look great. Pink is really your color."


    *I wonder if she''s try to match with her hair or if she really likes pink that much.*


    Mia:"Thanks!"


    The two of us found a place to sit down and started talking.


    Mia:"I was up early this morning again. Shadow attacked someone last night."


    Cyrus:"Really? What happened?"


    Mia:"I heard that he failed this time."


    Mia seemed to be very happy while she talked.


    Mia:"The person he went after fought him off and he left without killing him."


    Cyrus:"Was this omega he attacked really strong?"


    Mia:"The guy apparently can manipulate memories and tried attacking shadows mind which must of scared him off."


    Cyrus:"So did they learn anything about shadow?"


    Mia:"Sorry, grandfather caught me after I heard that last part so I didn''t get to hear the rest."


    *So last nights target is still alive. Damn it!*


    Cyrus:"Well it doesn''t really matter to us since shadows not our job."


    Mia:"Yeah but I can''t wait to see the look on his face when he''s caught. Oh yeah! We finally know what shadow looks like. A picture was taken of him the other night. Want to see!"


    Cyrus:"Sure."


    Mia pulled out her phone and showed me a picture. I saw myself wearing the suit standing in the bedroom of my last target.


    *There was a camera! Damn I''m making to many mistakes!*


    Cyrus:"What a weird outfit."


    Mia:"I think he''s an alpha and this suit gives him all his power. Apparently he''s left traces of using many abilities at different attacks. Grandfather plans to release this image to the public tomorrow."


    Cyrus:"I don''t think it will help much since he probably knows not to be seen in the suit."


    Mia:"Grandfather thinks they might be able to get some information about where it was made and who made it."


    Cyrus:"I guess the noose is tightening around shadows neck."


    Mia turned her head and widened her eyes then she jumped up. When I checked what she was looking at I saw two people. A tall man and a short woman who both had purple hair. The man looked around 20 with a slender build and wore blue jeans and a long sleeve black shirt. The woman looked around 12 with hair down a little past her shoulder blades and wore a white dress. Despite how young she looked she gave off a mature feel.

    Mia:"Lisa! Vincent!"


    Mia ran towards them with a huge smile on her face so I followed after her.


    Mia:"It''s been such a long time!"


    Lisa:"Did your grandfather not tell you, we''ve been back for a few days. I told the supreme I wanted to see you on our day off so he set up this job."


    Mia:"So you''re who we''re escorting?"


    Lisa:"Yes."


    Vincent:"It''s good to see you''re well Mia."


    Mia:"You''ve gotten tall Vincent!"


    I walked up next to Mia, but she didn''t seem to notice I was there. I heard their talk so I figured they knew each other somehow. Lisa noticed me first.


    Lisa:"Who''s this Mia?"


    Mia:"Oh! This is Cyrus. We''re a pair."


    Lisa:"My name is Lisa. It''s nice to meet you Cyrus."


    Cyrus:"It''s nice to meet you. How do you and Vincent know Mia?"


    Lisa:"The three of us played together when we were small."


    *Wait...how old is she?*


    Mia:"You don''t look any different Lisa. If I didn''t know any better I''d think you were a kid."


    Lisa:"I''m already 17! Vincent stole all the nutrients before we were born!"


    Mia and Lisa laughed as they continued their conversation for a few minutes.


    Mia:"So what do you have planned for today."


    Lisa:"I wanted us to do some shopping together. Vincent and I are moving back here and we need some things."


    Mia:"Then lets head to the shopping district!"


    The girls took off at a quick pace. Vincent and I followed them, but kept a little distance.


    Vincent:"So the two of you are a pair."


    Cyrus:"Yeah. What about you and Lisa?"


    Vincent:"We''re twins and a pair. It just made sense to pair up."


    Cyrus:"So you''re both 17? Neither of you look it. I would''ve guessed you were 20 and she was 12."


    Vincent:"She''s actually older then me, by a few minutes."


    We followed them for the rest of the day while they went from store to store getting things. I thought we would have to carry all the stuff, but it turns out most of the stores have the option to deliver it to your home. Sunset wasn''t to far off when they decided to call it a day so we all made our way to the train station. We all got on the same one and Mia was the first to get off.


    Mia:"I''ll call you about meeting up tomorrow."


    Lisa:"Sure. Everything we bought should arrive in the morning so you can help us set up our new place."


    Mia:"Bye."


    Mia waved as she got off the train. She didn''t leave the platform until the train was out of sight. After a while we reached my stop and I got off, but I was surprised when they got off with me.


    Cyrus:"Is this you stop too?"


    Lisa:"Yeah our apartment is around here."


    Cyrus:"What''s you address?"


    I let out a little chuckle when I heard their address. They lived in the same apartment building as me.


    Cyrus:"I live in the same building."


    Lisa:"Really! Then we''re neighbors!"


    Cyrus:"Have the two of you been there yet?"


    Vincent:"We''ve been there, but we''re not very familiar with these roads yet."


    Cyrus:"Follow me then."


    I led the two of them to the apartment building and they thanked me.


    Cyrus:"Goodnight you two."


    Lisa:"Goodnight Cyrus."


    I headed up to my apartment and worked out then showered. I decided not to go out as shadow tonight and just went straight to sleep.

 Chapter 7- Sunday Funday

    Chapter 7


    I got up early out of habit, but since it was Sunday I didn''t have anything to do. I was going to stop being shadow for a little while. The memory omega could have stolen some of my memories and has already figured out who I am, but that was the worst case scenario. I took a quick shower and when I got out I sat down on my sofa and started watching the tv. I was surprised when I suddenly heard a knock at my door.


    Knock knock knock


    I slowly made my way to the door wondering who it could be this early. Only bad things popped into my head so I readied myself for a fight. I sighed after looking out of the peephole.


    Lisa:"Open up Cyrus!"


    Vincent:"Try to be a little quieter. It still early."


    I opened the door.


    Cyrus:"Why you two here so early and how did you know which room was mine?"


    Lisa pulled out her cell phone to show me.


    Lisa:"I asked Mia which room you were in."


    Lisa pushed past me and entered.


    Vincent:"Sorry."


    Vincent followed her then I closed the door and made my way to the living room. Lisa plopped down on the couch.


    Lisa:"This couch is a little stiff. It feels like you rarely use it."


    Cyrus:"So why are you here?"


    Lisa:"The new stuff we bought won''t be delivered until later so we don''t have any way to cook breakfast."


    Vincent:"We brought food."


    Vincent held up a bag with a carton of eggs sticking out.


    Lisa:"You get free breakfast and company."


    Cyrus:"So your gonna cook breakfast?"


    Lisa:"Hahahahah! Of course not! Vincent will."


    I looked over at Vincent and he nodded.


    Cyrus:"My kitchens over there."


    I pointed him to the kitchen.


    Vincent:"Thank you for letting us use your kitchen."


    He left for the kitchen leaving me alone with Lisa. She picked up the remote and started flipping through the channels.


    Cyrus:"Didn''t you think I might still be asleep."


    Lisa:"Mia told me your always up early."


    Cyrus:"Oh."


    I stayed silent as she continued to surf the channels. After a while Vincent finally finished cooking.


    Vincent:"I''m done."


    Lisa:"Finally!"


    Lisa jumped up and ran to the kitchen she came back after a minute with a plate full of bacon, eggs, sausage and hash browns then she sat back in the same spot on the couch. I went to the kitchen to get some too since it looked so good. Vincent gave me a plate full of food then he went to the living room. I usually eat at a table, but since Lisa and Vincent were here I felt that I should eat with them.


    Lisa:"What do you think of the food?"


    Cyrus:"It''s great."


    The food was better than anything I could ever make. Judging only from breakfast Vincent was even a better cook then Mia. Lisa was the first to finish and she put her plate in the sink. When I placed mine in next to hers I sighed thinking about how she could have washed her plate. Vincent ended up washing them. After a while of watching tv with them Vincent''s cellphone rang.


    Vincent:"Hello."


    When the call ended Vincent stood up.


    Vincent:"Lisa. The supreme wants to see us."


    Lisa set the remote down and stood up.


    Lisa:"Then lets go."


    My phone suddenly started ringing and the two of them looked over at me. I pulled it out and saw Mia was the caller.


    Cyrus:"It''s Mia."


    I answered it.


    Cyrus:"Hello."


    Mia:"Cyrus. You need to come over. Grandfather said he needs to tell the two of us something."


    Cyrus:"Sure I''ll be right over."


    I hung up the phone and looked at Vincent and Lisa.


    Cyrus:"Looks like the supreme wants to see me too."


    Lisa:"Then hurry up and get ready. We''ll leave together."


    Cyrus:"I''ll be fast."


    I ran to my room and threw on jeans a white t-shirt and a red hoodie.


    *Why would the supreme need to talk to all of us.*


    I was a little worried he found out I''m shadow, but if that was true I don''t think he would invite Mia''s friends over. I made my way back to the living room and left with Vincent and Lisa. They didn''t talk much on the train ride so we made it to Mia''s with very little conversation. I tried many times on the way there to make small talk, but they weren''t very interested. Mia was the one to answer the door. I could feel the excitement that she was emitting.


    *Maybe we''re being given a mission?*


    Mia led us to the living room where we had to wait for a while.


    Cyrus:"So Mia what is this all about?"


    Mia:"Grandfather said he finally has a lead on shadow and he''s gonna let us join the search!"


    Cyrus:"Why us."


    Mia:"I don''t know yet. He hasn''t told me."


    *Maybe he really does know it''s me!*


    I was getting more worried, but I couldn''t let it show on my face. I made sure to keep a composed expression. Eventually we were let into the supremes study and the first thing I noticed was the man standing next to him. It was the memory omega that I don''t remember attacking. I admit it was hard to keep my surprise from showing, but I think I did a good job.


    Supreme:"Vincent, Lisa, Cyrus and Mia I am now assigning you to the shadow case."


    Mia was showing her excitement all over her face while I kept a stoic look on mine.


    Cyrus:"Sir I''d like to ask why us?"


    Mia shot me a angry glare.

    Supreme:"The answer to that question is standing right next to me. This is Dave Kelly. He is the only person to ever survive after meeting shadow. He can manipulate memories and was able to see one of shadows."


    I squeezed my fists together.


    *So he got one after all! Which one did he get!*


    Supreme:"He didn''t see a lot, but we''ve learned shadow goes to Crehon High."


    I relaxed a little and unclenched my fists.


    *If that''s all then I haven''t been caught.*


    I let out a sigh of relief.


    Mia:"You want us to find him right!"


    Supreme:"Mia and Cyrus will only collect info on the students. Vincent and Lisa will be the one to confront him if it''s needed. They will be starting school at Crehon tomorrow. I do NOT want anyone confronting shadow alone. Mia, if you find out who he is do NOT get anywhere near him. Vincent and Lisa will stay on him until back up can arrive."


    Mia:"I can beat him grandfather! Give me a chance!"


    The supreme stood up and slammed his fists down on the desk.


    Supreme:"You will not confront him!"


    Mia took a few steps back and stayed silent.


    Cyrus:"Sir why is it alright for Vincent and Lisa to fight, but not us?"


    The supreme looked me in the eyes then sat back down.


    Supreme:"They are a rank SSS pair so they have the power and experience that you two lack."


    I glanced over at Vincent and Lisa. I had no idea they were that high ranked. What kind of powers do they have?


    Supreme:"All the information gathered on shadow will be given to the four of you and it''s your job to find out which student is shadow. Like I said before if he figures you out only Vincent and Lisa are cleared to fight him."


    An encrypted email was sent to each of our phones. We were given the encryption key and opened the file. All the information the omegas have collected on shadow was in it and I couldn''t help but smirk. They didn''t have very much. They knew shadows height, estimated weight and that he went to Crehon High. They believe he had to be a powerful omega, but probably tries not to stand out at school. They also believe he probably moved to Atlantis within the last five years. His gender was still not classified, but it was assumed that he''s male.


    I was surprised that all the information was right except for the part about me being a powerful omega. I wasn''t very worried since I was average height and weight, plus Atlantis gets a new crop of citizens every year. They had nothing that pointed to me specifically. Things would be getting harder now that Vincent and Lisa lived in the same building, but I felt pretty confident that I''d be able to hide it from them.


    Cyrus:"Sir don''t you think Mr. Kelly is in a lot of danger. Shadows probably going to want him dead."


    Supreme:"Don''t worry. Dave is leaving the city tonight."


    *So I have to get him tonight or he''ll be gone.*


    Supreme:"Now go rest up today and read over the files regarding shadows previous attacks. Tomorrow is the start of your mission and it might become dangerous so I want you all to be prepared."


    I stepped forward and stretched my arm out towards Mr. Kelly.


    Cyrus:"It was nice meeting you Mr. Kelly."


    As soon as he grasped my hand to shake it I let one of the nanobots exit my blood stream and pass from my hand to his then it entered into his body. It was so small that he didn''t even notice it. I stepped away and left the room with the others.


    Mia:"We''re finally going after shadow!"


    Cyrus:"Yeah but we''re not aloud to confront him."


    Mia:"I know, but it feels good to help with the case."


    Lisa:"The things we bought yesterday will be arriving soon so we should hurry up and get home."


    Mia:"I''ll come with you to help set up your new place."

    Shadow still hasn''t shown up at the park again. I plan to continue staking it out every night until he finally comes back. The rebels are putting together a team to attack Atlantis and I might get dragged into helping them. Once Atlantis falls to the rebels real changes can finally start.


    When I moved here I got a job, but about a week ago some men came to my door and told me that since I was 16 I had to start attending Crehon High. I''ll be starting tomorrow and they offered to put me in student housing which I''ll have to take since I won''t be able to work anymore. It''ll take a week before they can get me my new home.


    I am curious to know what my rank would be so I''m looking forward to that, but I''m worried about getting a pair. I hope whoever I end up with tries to keep their distance. I can eat absolutely anything with my power and I''ve been told I look quite scary when using it so if I''m lucky that will scare everyone away.


    This was a pretty boring Sunday. I went shopping to buy all the things I would need for school and I staked out the park for a few hours. When I was buying school supplies I also bought a camera that I''m going to leave at the park. I plan to check it everyday and only leave it there during the night. I felt really good about myself.  Chapter 8- A Night On The Town

    Chapter 8


    We finished setting up Vincent and Lisa''s apartment, but it was already late. Mia called her grandfather and he allowed her to stay out tonight. Their apartment has the same layout as mine so Vincent and Lisa had their own rooms. Mia was gonna sleep with Lisa and she wanted me to stay over too, but I told her I''d rather sleep in my own bed. I went back to my apartment and made my way to my bedroom.


    I pulled out my laptop and connected the computer in my suit to it just like I did with the supremes computer.


    Cyrus:"Where is the nanobot."


    I am a collection of science experiments. If I didn''t have the suit I''d be dead. The nanobots were part of the first experiment and they strengthened the muscles in my body along with an almost perfect immune system. Once I got the suit I found out I could use the nanobots to track people. A map of Atlantis appeared on the screen with a white star showing the location of Dave Kelly. He took a peak inside my head and I don''t like it when people do that.


    The location was one of the omegas safe houses. I knew all of them since I took that information from the supremes computer just in case I might need it in the future. I decided not to move yet and watched the white star for a few hours. At about 1 in the morning the star started to move.


    Cyrus:"I guess it''s time for my reunion with Mr. Kelly."


    I got dressed in my usual black hoodie then left and made my way to the park. One problem with my suit is that when I activate it a pulse is sent out a few meters in every direction that destroys all electrical devices. The park is the only place close by that I don''t have to worry about destroying any electronics. I rented storage space recently on the bottom floor of my apartment building that I plan to use once I finish putting up the EMP shielding. I made my way to my usual spot.


    Cyrus:"Activate."


    Once my suit appeared I heard a small explosion. It wasn''t very loud so if you weren''t close by then you wouldn''t hear it. I turned to were I heard it and walked over. There was a small camera that was now on fire. I stomped on it to put the fire out and to completely smash the camera. This was something to worry about.


    *Did someone set this up to record me?*


    There were no people around and I had something to do so I decided to leave.


    Cyrus:"Suit. Where''s the nanobot?"

    It was now time to start the hunt. Thanks to the suit I caught up to Dave within twenty minutes. He was being transported out of town in a black SUV and had two more just like it escorting him. I jumped down in front of the first car causing it to slam on it''s brakes several meters away from me. The doors started to open and men came out. One was a girl. I counted fourteen people and it looked like they wanted a fight. I was smiling inside the suit and started walking towards them. I could tell a few were afraid, but it didn''t look like any would back down. I wasn''t heartless so if one decides to run I''ll let them go. I no longer need to hide what I look like so a witness doesn''t matter to me.


    Two men dashed towards me. One started shooting spikes at me that came out of his hand while the other just kept running at me. I easily dodged the spikes, but caught the last one and threw it into the spike guys knee. He fell flat on his face then rolled over on his back. I jumped into the air and landed on his face crushing his head. The second guy tried to punch me and I realized his power was super strength, but that doesn''t help very much if you can''t hit your target.


    I grabbed the arm he stretched out and brought my knee up breaking it. He fell back screaming and clutching his dangling limb with his other arm. I kicked towards his head causing it to explode and spray blood everywhere. I got quite a lot of blood on my feet so I took the jacket from one of the guys I just killed to wipe my feet off. There was blood on the outside of the coat, but the inside was clean so I used that.


    The other twelve people seemed stunned and hadn''t moved from there spot. They all seemed to snap back into reality when I threw the coat down. They formed four groups of three and tried to surround me. I decided to let them get into place so I stood there and waited. I took a crouched position and they now had three to the left and right, three in the front and three behind me.


    I placed my hands on the road as they started approaching me.

    The road around me started to melt and became sticky tar. A few of them stepped in it then fell face first. I jumped forward at one of the men who didn''t fall and landed on his chest causing him to fall over. It put so much pressure on his chest that it caved in and I immediately reached out towards the two that were next to him. I tour out there hearts and tossed them to the side then jumped towards another group that didn''t fall.

    The guy I was aiming for attacked me with some kind of sound wave he emitted from his mouth which caused me to miss my mark. I had to kick off of a man that was stuck in the tar to make it over to sound waves group. I grabbed him by the throat while I wrapped my legs around another ones waist. I did a spin snapping the neck of the sound wave guy and sending me flying while I still had my legs wrapped around the other one. He looked like a rag doll flying through the air with me.


    I removed my legs from his waist and he flew a few feet away then landed with a loud thump. I landed outside of the tar area then jumped back towards a guy aiming to tear his heart out. My hands hit his chest and bounced off causing me to fall towards the tar.

    I landed on my feet and used Frost Mode to bring the temperature of the tar back up. The people who were stuck in the tar were now really stuck since it hardened up. The man who''s heart I didn''t get has an ability like Mia. Unlucky for him I was prepared to fight that ability.

    I covered my right hand in scales and lunged at him and this time it broke through his hardened skin. I took his heart when I pulled my hand out. I was hit in the back with some kind of energy ball so I turned to see the one girl had thrown it.

    I slammed my foot down causing the ground to crack and send small rocks flying up. I grabbed a few and threw them at the girl. It was like being shot with a shotgun and she flew backwards. One of the two standing next to her was hit so they screamed out. I severed there heads within a second. Now only three men were left if you didn''t count the guy with all the broken bones that I threw earlier.


    Flames came shooting out at me so I covered my body in a layer of frost that refroze faster then it could melt. One of them backed away so I thought he was going to run, but he tour off his shirt and started changing. He completely turned into a lion and circled around behind me. The two still standing in front of me couldn''t move since they were the ones who got stuck in the tar. The flame user was lucky that he only fell to his knees so he could still move his upper body. The other one fell face first so he had probably already suffocated to death.


    The flame user stopped his attack and the lion pounced on me. I side stepped and used my scaled right hand like a sword to cut the lion in half. I then jumped at the flame user before he could continue his attack and shoved my hand through his head. They were now all dead even the man that was thrown earlier. I squashed the head of the one that suffocated just to be safe.


    I collected blood samples from all of them then checked on Mr. Kelly''s location. He had ran away, but wasn''t very far. I quickly caught up with him, but kept my distance since I didn''t want a repeat of last time.


    Cyrus:"Suit activate nanobot."

    I watched as Mr. Kelly suddenly stopped and fell to the ground. I walked up to his body and placed my hand on his head then the nanobot transferred from him back into my blood stream.


    Cyrus:"I wanted to question him, but it was just to dangerous. I guess I''ll have to do this the hard way."


    I placed my other hand on his head and decided to use the ability I got from the last memory omega.

    I started to see flashes of his life as all of his memories flooded into me. I was confused and disoriented for a few minutes until the suit had time to process all the memories and seal them away. The suit has a certain amount of intelligence and can even run on autopilot which is what I assume happened the first time I met Mr. Kelly. I probably passed out from the shock of having one of my memories stolen and the suit brought me back home.


    The suit found nothing I was looking for in Mr. Kelly''s memories. I had to leave now since I didn''t feel like fighting anymore. I was a little depressed that he didn''t know anything. I slipped past all the omegas coming as back up and made my way home.  Chapter 9- The Scar

    *********18 Years Ago/Tony POV********


    I''m graduated from Crehon High today. My name is Tony an 18 year old and I have two loving parents, but no siblings. I''m about six foot three with a slender athletic build and short black hair.


    The graduation ceremony ended a few hours ago and now my pair and I are headed to a base located just outside of Atlantis. The whole world isn''t at peace like Atlantis so every omega is sent to serve in the army once they graduate. Your skill determines the length of your tour.


    I''m paired with Grace. She''s a childhood friend of mine so we''ve always been together. The two of us are like siblings, but I''m told that a pair is usually close especially after their tour of duty. Graces abilities make her nimble like a cat along with a better reaction time and increased senses. Her finger nails are stronger then a normal persons so she can use them to fight with, but she carries two short swords that she mostly uses.


    I fight with a sword and I''ve been learning martial arts since I was young. My power is regeneration and I''ve been told it''s the most powerful version ever seen. I can regrow limbs in a few minutes, but it couldn''t be tested to its fullest since I might actually die. My head has never been cut off or destroyed.


    Grace is clinging to me while we sit in the back of a military vehicle surrounded by other students who just graduated.


    Grace:"Do you think we''ll be alright?"


    Tony:"Of course we will. If a mission gets to difficult we can always retreat using me as a shield."


    Grace hated seeing me experiment with my ability. I even stabbed myself in the heart and cut my throat once. She probably wasn''t very happy that I offered to use myself as a shield, but I was confident in my ability. I was told that my ability isn''t exactly regeneration. It was closer to turning back time and restoring my body to what it was a few minutes ago. The vehicle stopped and the students started getting out. We were at a military base that''s used to organize the graduation students before shipping them out.


    Alex:"Hey! Tony! Grace!"


    A boy came running up to us. He had brown hair that came down past his eyes. He''s a few inches shorter then me and he doesn''t look very strong. Grace and I met him at school five years ago and we all became friends. I think he has a crush on Grace, but she doesn''t seem to realize it.


    Tony:"You beat us here."


    Alex:"Yeah. I was waiting for the two of you."


    Alex is a very special omega that was born with a very rare power. He can cancel out other people''s abilities. He decided to carry two short swords just like Grace and if he smears his blood on them then they can cut through any omegas ability. I got him to cut my hand and it didn''t heal. I hated how painful it was to have a cut until it naturally heals. It was something I had never felt before, but it was interesting to know my power had a weakness.


    Alex:"We have to stand in that line to receive our uniforms."


    Grace:"Lets go."


    Grace pulled me by my sleeve over to the line and Alex stood behind us. He was a little jealous because Grace and I were close, but I told him that we have no romantic feelings for each other. I do love Grace, but it''s a familial love that a person would have for his little sister. Grace is about five foot ten with a small bust and red hair.


    We stood in line for what felt like years before finally receiving our uniforms then we were assign to a tent. We were told that this will be our home for two weeks. Each tent had two pairs in them which lucky for me the pair Grace and I got to share with were both girls.


    The next two weeks were spent learning about the types of missions we''ll be going on and how we would work together. We also learned about the military hierarchy. It turns out things weren''t quite as peaceful between omegas as we thought. All the current cities that the omegas have built were like different kingdoms. The supreme is seen as the ruler like a king and the people in charge of running other cities are like his vassals, but some decided they wanted to be king so they split off. They still believe in omega supremacy, but that their leader should be the supreme.


    The leading faction is the supreme of Atlantis, but a new supreme has appeared who has a large backing. They provided aid to the rebels under the agreement that their cities won''t be attacked. This aid has allowed the rebels to solidify their army and increase their war potential. This supreme is known as The Omega King and friend of the rebels.


    It was now our last day here before being sent off to different places for missions. All the recently graduated students were gathered for one final test.


    Instructor:"Bring them out!"


    We all turned to look as people began to pour out of a row of military vehicles. They all had their arms tied behind their backs and were force to line up in front of us.


    Instructor:"These are captured rebels! I want each of you to pick one and take their life! Only kill one! We don''t have enough for you to get kill happy!"


    We were all stunned except for a few who seemed really happy. Those few immediately went up to the rebels and each killed one.


    Instructor:"What are you waiting for! Get to it!"


    The students ran to be the first one to pick. Most weren''t excited to kill it''s just that they didn''t want to be forced to kill the women. Some of the students tried to run away and were killed by the instructors which prompted the others to make the kill. I felt sorry for them, but they were rebel soldiers and I wanted to live. Grace couldn''t bring herself to do it so I checked to make sure no one was watching and used one of her short swords to kill one then gave it back. Everyone stayed quiet as we were being transported except for the few who enjoyed it.


    Alex''s pair was one of the students who died so a group was formed of omegas who lost their pair. They were now a team and the number in their group increased after every mission. After a year Grace and I were given an escort mission that was close to rebel territory. We had something to deliver, but we had no idea what it was. I was driving while Grace sat next to me. Four more vehicles were assigned to help us escort whatever was in the back of this vehicle.


    Grace:"I wish our tour would hurry up and end. I''m tired of all this killing."


    Tony:"The alphas have it worse. We can always find safety in our cities, but their stuck either fighting or being slaves."


    Grace:"I don''t understand why we''re enemies. We''re all human."


    Tony:"Humans fight each other for many reasons. We are a violent race."


    Grace sighed and glanced out the window.


    Grace:"Tony stop th...!"


    Baaaaaaaam!!!!


    Something crashed into the side of our vehicle causing us to flip over. I unfastened my belt and climbed on top of Grace to shield her. When the car stopped rolling I had many broken bones, but my body was back to normal after a minute. Grace only had minor cuts. We climbed out of the vehicle and saw a group headed our way. One of them seemed to be firing air bullets at us which was what probably flipped our vehicle.


    The one of the other vehicles flipped, but the rest were fine. The group coming at us broke up into sets of two and headed to each vehicle. Grace and I were shocked because we knew this group. It was Alex''s group of omegas without a pair. Alex was the one that came to our vehicle. The air bullet guy was with him, but he circled around to the back of the vehicle.


    Tony:"What''s going on Alex!"


    Alex:"I''m sorry Tony, but that''s classified!"


    Tony:"You''re after what were carrying aren''t you!"


    Alex:"It''s classified!"


    Alex was holding his short swords with his blood smeared on them.


    Tony:"You planning to kill me!"


    Alex:"Classified."


    Alex lunged at me, but Grace jumped in the way and blocked both of his blades.


    Grace:"I''ll kill you!"


    They started a back and forth of slashing, dodging and parrying. I could tell Alex was winning so I had to help. He cut Grace many times which reduced her speed, but I could tell he was avoiding her vitals. I was surprised at how good he was since last time he fought her she would always win. I drew my sword and jumped into the fight. I knocked one of his short swords away and gained the upper hand, but he soon adjusted to using one and started overpowering me.

    Out of the corner of my vision I saw the air bullet guy fire a shot at Grace which she didn''t notice. I jumped at her which opened up my defense, and Alex made a long gash under my ribs on my left side. I was able to cover Grace and the air bullet landed right in front of us making the ground explode which sent the two of us flying.


    Air Bullet Guy:"We got it Alex lets go."


    Alex picked up his other short sword and followed as his group left. I was holding Grace in my arms as we flew through the air and I had one thought on my mind.

    I didn''t think that for very long since I landed on my head and pieces of my brain went flying in every direction.

    When I woke up I could feel pain all over my body and tasted blood in my mouth. I was barely able to lift my head and what I saw was Tony without a head. I waited, but nothing happened. He wasn''t healing. I was still being held by him. I couldn''t move so I just cried into his chest for what felt like hours. I fell asleep a some point and woke up to someone carrying me princess style. I didn''t know who he was, but his black hair reminded me of Tony so I went back to sleep.


    The next time I woke up I was in a house. I was hurting all over and couldn''t move so I laid there. The man with black hair entered the room with a cup and walked over to me.


    Man:"You need to drink something so I''m gonna sit you up."


    I didn''t respond. I only felt like crying. He placed his hand on the back of my neck to support it as he raised me up and brought the glass to my mouth. The water tasted really good which made me realize how thirsty I was so I gulped it down. I choked a little on it and when I was done he gently placed my head back down.


    Grace:"What happened to Tony?"


    Man:"I don''t know who Tony is, but you were the only one alive when I found you. I don''t know what happened, but I can guess you were attacked by an omega. There were craters around were we found you. They must have been made by one of those bastards."


    I could see the anger in his eyes. The craters were created by air bullet guy every time he used his power. He would push the ground down where he was standing and a hole would be left wherever his bullets hit.


    Grace:"I need to go."


    I tried to pull myself up, but he pushed me back down.


    Man:"Not right now. You''re in bad shape."


    Grace:"I have to."


    Man:"You can''t do anything until you get better."


    The man was easily overpowering me since I was so injured. I gave up and laid back down. He continued to take care of me and talked with me until my injuries healed. I felt very alone with Tony dead so I enjoyed his company. He was such a gentle man and I always remembered Tony when I looked at his hair. He made me feel safe, comfortable and I was able to deal with my grief with his help. He told me his name was Oscar. I didn''t tell him I was an omega since I was afraid he might attack me, but as time went on I felt that he was trustworthy. I started to fall for him so u didn''t want to lie anymore. When I told him he was angry and yelled then threw me out.


    I felt so lonely and decided to go back to where Tony died. The place was already cleaned up so the bodies were gone. I didn''t want to be alone anymore. I thought that I might have been projecting Tony onto Oscar which was why I wanted to be with him. I wasn''t sure if I really loved Oscar or the fact that he reminded me of Tony.


    Oscar:"Grace."


    I turned around and saw Oscar was behind me. He dropped to his knees and started apologizing over and over again. I felt happy, but I realized my true feeling were for Tony. I was really in love with a dead man. I accepted Oscars apology and went back with him. I didn''t have anything else left so a new life was what I decided on. I became apart of the rebels with Oscar and I gave birth to two children. My first was a girl who inherited my hair color and was an omega like me. My second was a boy who had black hair and was an alpha.


    We raised them to care for both alphas and omegas. My daughter wanted to join the rebels for a long time and when she turned 15 her first mission was given to her. My son was very smart and was recruited by the rebels when he turned 14. He was sent to the ''Base'' which made me happy since it was the safest part of the rebels. They did the planning and organizing for the rebels. My daughter wasn''t able to hear about his promotion since she was on a mission. She was sent to Atlantis to establish contact with someone. She was excited to visit my birthplace which made me happy and also forced me to remember Tony.


    I told Oscar the truth a few years ago. He accepted that I was in love with another man since the other man was already dead. It did cause a little distance to form between us, but I knew it would hurt him. The ''Base'' decided to launch a major attack on Atlantis so all of the omegas helping the rebels have been gathered. We will infiltrate the city and prepare for the attack while the alphas set things up outside of the city. I was happy that I''d get to see my daughter soon, but my happiness was shattered during the travel to Atlantis.


    Oscar was killed in a skirmish with omega soldiers. I felt that loneliness creeping up on me again, but I surprisingly didn''t cry when I got the news. I wanted to see my daughter more than ever now. I hoped that Aprils presence would help me fight off the loneliness. We finally made it to Atlantis and began our mission. I decided to visit April as soon as possible so I made my way to the new citizen registry. Anyone who moves to Atlantis has to add themselves to this registry including all of the rebel spy''s.


    I knew what fake name she was using so I easily tracked her down. I was a little angry she was so careless and only used a fake last name. I found out she started school today and I wanted to see Crehon High so I decided to meet her after school.


    *****************Cyrus POV****************


    I usually slept in a white t-shirt and pajama pants so when I woke up I headed straight to the closet to put my school uniform on. Before I had a chance to change there was a knock at my door.


    Knock knock knock


    I made my way to the door and opened it.


    Lisa:"Shadow showed up again last night."


    Lisa, Mia and Vincent entered my apartment and went straight to the living room. They all had their school uniform on.


    Mia:"He killed Mr. Kelly!"


    Cyrus:"I thought he was leaving the city last night?"


    Vincent:"Last night his escort was attacked and wiped out by Shadow."


    Cyrus:"So shadow killed the only person to ever see him in person. Do we know why Mr. Kelly was one of his targets."


    Lisa:"No."


    Mia:"Cyrus get dressed so we can get to school. I want to find shadow!"


    Cyrus:"Alright. Give me a few minutes."


    I went back to my bedroom and removed my shirt then grabbed the long sleeve button up that''s part of our uniform. Before I could put it on Lisa entered the room.


    Lisa:"I need to give you something."


    I was standing there shirtless, but she didn''t seem to care. She passed me a pen.


    Lisa:"Put it in your coats breast pocket. It''s a camera."


    Cyrus:"Ok."


    I took the pen and waited for her to leave, but she just stood there.


    Cyrus:"I need to change."


    Lisa:"How''d you get that."


    She pointed towards me.


    Cyrus:"Get what?"


    Lisa:"That scar on your left side under your ribs. It looks like it was made by a blade."


    I hesitated for a minute.


    Cyrus:"It was. Before I moved to Atlantis I got into a serious fight and was left with this scar."


    Lisa:"Oh."


    Cyrus:"Could you please leave so I can change?"


    Lisa:"Sure."

 Chapter 10- The Tournament

    Chapter 10


    This week of school was special. Today the tournament would start to decide which student from Crehon High went on to compete for the position of the new supreme. There are three schools in Atlantis, but Crehon is the most prestigious and produces the strongest omegas. All students will fight one on one battles until the best is found. This person will fight the best students chosen from the two other schools to determine the best student in Atlantis then the real fights begin.


    While the best student in the city is being found there will be a tournament open to the public. This tournament is open to anyone, but it''s divided into groups. The people still in the military all fight each other first then they fight the winner of the civilian devision. The winner of this match will fight the students winner. The omega that wins in the military division usually ends up becoming the next supreme. A civilian has become the supreme a few times, but a student has only won once.


    Our current supreme was the first student to ever win the tournament. It makes sense considering he gets stronger every time he sees a new ability. He has to actually see the ability being used in order to mimic it so memory manipulation along with others can''t be mimicked. Crehon High has a principal that doesn''t even show up to work. I heard that he''s just a figure head so he doesn''t need to actually do the work of a normal principal, but he will have to make an appearance during the tournament. I have never seen him, but his powers are something I''ve wanted ever since I first heard about them.


    All the students were gathered in what the school likes to call the cultivation room which is really just an arena. We always have mock battles in here, but today it would be used for the tournament. We were all lined up according to our pair ranks. A group of teachers lined up in front of us and one man stepped forward.


    Teache:"Ok. So starting today you will no longer be fighting with your pair. The tournament is a solo battle. First we would like volunteers to battle with our new students. They currently don''t have ranks so we would like to know if they stand a chance in the tournament. You need to be at least rank C to volunteer."


    Most of the students are below C rank and the ones that are above it are usually to stuck up to help so only one person volunteered.


    Teacher:"If no one else volunteers then I''ll choose."


    The teacher flipped through the papers he had on a clip board which was probably a roster and started calling names. I could hear students start booing which angered some of the teachers.


    Teacher:"And last is Cyrus Adkins. All of the people who''s names I just called will have a match with the unranked students. If any of you lose then you''re out of the tournament and the student that beat you is in."


    I was a little annoyed that I got picked, but I could only complain to myself as a teacher led all the ''volunteers'' to where we were going to fight the unranked students. It was a smaller arena that was usually only used for sparring matches at school. The unranked students were all waiting inside.


    Teacher:"I''ll decide who''s fighting who."


    The teacher started calling out our names then the unranked student who we would be fighting. The teacher assigned to us was one of the omegas with healing abilities. The students tournament keeps omegas with healing abilities around which is an ability that shows up quite often. The most common form of it uses the omegas blood to heal wounds. One drop of blood can heal small injuries, but reattaching limbs costs a lot of blood. The school has ten working for them, but the ability to bring a person back from the dead does exist. They usually have a few minutes after death to bring them back.


    Only 1 out of every 250,000,000 gets the resurrection ability. The population of the world is currently 5 billion so there are about 20 people on the planet who can bring the dead back, but the best one can''t resurrect someone who''s been dead for more than a day. No matter the condition of the body if you can get a piece of the dead person to the omega within a day they can be resurrected. The supreme paid a lot of money to get eight of them here for this city wide tournament.


    One was assigned to each school, three were assigned to the military''s tournament and two were assigned to the civilian tournament. The school planned to have the lower ranked students fight each other while the higher ranked fought. The omega with resurrection abilities will watch over the higher ranked fights since those will be more intense. Death is very likely to occur during this tournament, but they try to limit it. The teacher finally made it to my name.


    Teacher:"Cyrus Adkins I''ll let you fight April Adkins."


    I was surprised by what he said and in the next second a red haired girl started walking over to me.


    Cyrus:"Are you April?"


    April:"Yes. So your last name is Adkins?"


    Cyrus:"Yeah. Where are you from?"


    April:"I''d rather not talk about that."


    Cyrus:"Sure. I won''t pry into your background."


    *I wonder if she''s related to him.*


    The thought crossed my mind of asking about her family, but she didn''t seem to be a very open person. We didn''t have the resurrection omega watching us so if someone died then it''s possible they might stay dead. Any injury can be healed by the omegas with healing abilities so as long as we don''t kill each other we''ll be fine. If some one does die then they will need to be rushed to the resurrector who''s watching the battles in the main arena.


    April:"Sir."


    April raised her hand.


    Teacher:"What?"


    April:"How far can I go in my fight."


    Teacher:"Anything is fine as long as you can avoid killing."


    April:"Thanks."


    *She''s quite confident.*


    April:"Sorry Cyrus, but I''m gonna hurt you during our fight."


    Cyrus:"You can try."


    April:"I''m trying to warn you since it''s gonna hurt. No one ever listens."


    We were waiting for our turn to fight now. The current match had just come to an end with the unranked losing.


    Teacher:"Ok you two it''s your turn. Remember try to avoid killing."


    April:"Got it."


    Cyrus:"Sure."


    We went to the center of the arena with all the other students watching us except for the unranked that just lost since he was currently getting healed. The was a distance of about 5 meters between us.


    Teacher:"The match will begin in 3...2.....1.........Go!"


    April dashed towards me while I stood still. Her jaw unhinged and I could see a lot of sharp teeth. She was a beautiful before, but now she looked a little scary. When she was close enough she snapped at me. I easily dodged it and kicked her feet out from under her. She landed on her back, but jumped up immediately. I could tell this wasn''t her first fight. Those teeth could probably tear me apart, but I was to fast for her to catch.

    She suddenly put some distance between us. I wanted to see what her plan was so I just stared at her. Her knees started bending backwards and she started standing on her toes. Her legs now looked like the hind legs of a dog minus the fur. She started moving and I noticed her speed and agility increased. The weird looking legs added to her monstrous appearance, but it did increase her battle prowess.


    I was having a much harder time keeping up with her, but she still couldn''t catch me. She wouldn''t be a problem if I could use the suit which further increases my speed, strength and other abilities, but obviously I couldn''t use it. Every time I caught her she somehow slipped out. She was constantly moving from one place to another so I couldn''t get a good look at her current appearance. She couldn''t land a good hit on me, but she was leaving cuts all over me so I wondered if she had a blade.


    It was interesting to watch her use this power, but I was now tired of it so I decided to end the fight. She was jumping around and attacking me every now and then. She had a very obvious pattern so I waited for her next attack. She dashed towards me so I smacked my foot down on the ground causing it to break. She stumbled because of the shaking which I took advantage of and closed the distance between us. It took one strong punch to the solar plexus to knock her to her knees. I then smacked her in the back of the neck causing damage to the spine. I only put enough force into it to cripple her, but the healers will fix that later.


    She fell to the ground screaming. The pain she was feeling was obvious on her face. I noticed all ten of her fingers had changed into claws.


    *So that''s what was cutting me.*


    I looked at her entire appearance again and she was really quite monstrous looking. The claws started changing back, the mouth and legs reverted to normal and she was a beautiful girl again except for the fact that she was now a cripple, but that''s only until she''s healed. I left the stage with half of the students staring at me and the other half at April. They were mixed on what to think. The ones staring at me thought about how brutal that was to do to a girl while the ones staring at April thought about the frightening monster she had turned into.


    It was easy to guess who was thinking what since the unranked new students were the only ones who would look at an opponent with sympathy. The ones who were already students here know never to hold back just because you''re fighting a woman.


    April had passed out so the healer was working on her. The teacher told me to return to the other arena and see if I''ll be fighting again today. After entering the arena I found a teacher and was told that I wouldn''t be fighting today. I had a fight planned for tomorrow against a student named Gerald. I found a seat and watched the other matches.


    ******************April POV******************


    When I woke up I could still feel a surge of pain running through my body. The healer told me that my spine was broken and that I should take it easy for a few days. I was completely healed, but I had phantom pain. The day was already over when I woke up so I decided to head home. I was feeling a little depressed since I lost during my first fight. I was told that omegas from Atlantis would be strong, but that guy was more than I expected. I was confident at first, but now I realize he could have beat me whenever he wanted to.


    I made my way to the front gate with my head held low. Right after I passed through the gate I was pulled into a hug.


    Grace:"It''s so good to see my baby girl!"


    I was surprised by the sudden appearance of my mom so I didn''t respond. She kept hugging me and it even started to hurt.


    April:"Mom stop!"


    She let go and stepped back.


    Grace:"I''m sorry. I was just happy to see you."


    April:"What are you doing here!"


    Grace:"I''ll tell you once we get back to your place. We can''t talk out here."


    We stayed relatively quiet while we made our way to my apartment. Once inside my mom went snooping around.


    April:"Are you going to tell me why you''re here or just keep going through my stuff.


    Grace:"Why is some of it packed up? Are you moving?"


    April:"I''ll be moving into student housing in about a week. Now tell me why you''re here."


    Grace:"Ok."


    She took a seat in my living room.


    Grace:"The rebels are planning a major offensive on Atlantis."


    April:"What do they have planned?"


    Grace:"Sorry but you''re not part of the mission so I can''t tell you."


    April:"Fine."


    I knew she wouldn''t tell me so I didn''t even try to make her.


    Grace:"So how was school?"


    April:"Terrible. I had my spine broken."


    Grace:"What! Who did that to my baby! I''ll kill them!"


    April:"Settle down. It was a fair match between the two of us. He was just stronger then me."


    Grace:"I don''t care. I''ll still kill him."


    April:"I was surprised to hear his last name."


    Grace:"What was it?"


    Grace was flipping through some of the papers I had sitting around.


    April:"Adkins."


    Grace stopped what she was doing and looked at me.


    Grace:"What was his first name?"


    April:"Cyrus."


    I could see a dejected look in her eyes.


    Grace:"Oh."


    She went back to looking through the papers.


    Grace:"That reminds me. Why did you pick Adkins as your last name?"


    April:"Because of all the stories you told me about Tony Adkins."


    Grace:"Well my new last name is Adkins now too. I also registered as your mother so we don''t need to hide it. Your mission here will be coming to an end once we complete out mission. If shadow isn''t found before we start our attack then the rebels have decided to give up on him."


    April:"When''s the attack!"


    Grace:"I can''t tell you."


    April:"Damn it! I''ll find him!"


    I stormed out of the apartment to check on the camera I left at the park. I came home feeling even more depressed when I found the camera destroyed. The one thing I knew was that shadow had to live close to this park.


    April:"I will definitely find him!"


    I yelled at the too of my lungs in order to let out everything I was feeling. When I got home my depression only worsened when mom told me what happened to dad. I locked myself in my room and cried all night long. I had always been around death, but this time was different.  Chapter 11- The Mirror Room

    Chapter 11


    I met up with Mia, Lisa and Vincent after school let out. They told me that starting tomorrow students wouldn''t have to wear their uniforms until they are officially out of the tournament. It was good news for me since the uniform I wore today was shredded thanks to that April girl. The camera pen Lisa gave me was also destroyed, but I broke that myself during the fight. It was smashed to pieces in hopes that she wouldn''t give me another one. I still didn''t know why she wanted me to wear a camera, but it made me feel a little paranoid.


    Vincent:"So how did your fight go, Cyrus?"


    Cyrus:"Well she cut up my uniform, but wasn''t really a problem. She did make this transformation that gave her a monstrous look."


    Vincent:"So she was a shapeshifter?"


    Cyrus:"Not sure."


    Vincent:"I didn''t get to fight. The higher ranked omegas will fight last. The schools wants to get all the weaker omegas out of the way first."


    Cyrus:"I''ve got a fight tomorrow."


    Vincent:"Do you know who it''s against?"


    Cyrus:"Yeah someone named Gerald."


    Vincent:"Never heard of him. Must be ranked rather low."


    Cyrus:"He''s ranked C."


    Vincent:"I only know the names of all SSS ranked omegas."


    *I know the names of all ranked omegas in the city.*


    I allowed the suit full control over all my memories so it increased my capacity to remember things. I stole the list of all ranked omegas in the city from the supremes computer. I didn''t know their faces or powers, but if I had a name I would know their rank. I knew Vincent and Lisa must have been ranked in a different city because their names weren''t on the list I got. The list has probably been updated by now so I should take a look at it some time. We went to Vincent and Lisa''s apartment to talk about our plans. I had to get a chair from the dining room since there weren''t enough seats in the living room.


    Lisa:"Shadow is a cautious person so he will probably try not to draw a lot of attention to himself so we should look for someone who''s around C to CCC rank. He will probably let himself lose in the tournament after a few fights."


    *I guess I''ll see how far I can go in this tournament.*


    Vincent:"We''ll start our search by making a list of all C to CCC ranked students that only win two fights. They will be our main suspects."


    Mia:"That''s amazing!"


    Lisa:"That''s not all. We can further lower the number of suspects by excluding all the students who don''t match the height and weight requirements and check if they moved here within the last five years."


    Cyrus:"Don''t you think there''s the possibility that some of your information was wrong."


    Lisa:"We know it might be wrong, but the people who fit the profile will be the first ones investigated then we''ll move on."


    Cyrus:"Ok. So what should Mia and I do?"


    Lisa:"After we narrow down the list you two will help Vincent and I investigate each person."


    Vincent:"Right now there''s nothing to do. You''re free to do whatever you want until all the C rankers have fought about five battles then we''ll make the list."


    The talk about shadow was now over so we moved on to chit chat.


    Mia:"I''m planning on ranking up during this tournament."


    Lisa:"I''m sure everyone plans on doing that."


    Mia:"I''ve been training and strengthening my scales. I''ll need it when we find shadow."


    Lisa:"You''re not the one who will be fighting him."


    Mia:"We never know what may happen."


    Cyrus:"I''m gonna go get changed back in my apartment."


    Vincent:"Ok. We''ll be here."


    When I got to my door there was a package in front of it so I brought it in and opened it. Inside I found the wallpaper I ordered, but it wasn''t normal wallpaper. This was specially ordered and what I planned to put up in the storage room in order to stop the pulse my suit emitted. I changed clothes and put the wallpaper in my closet then went back to join the others.


    Mia went home after a few hours and I left too. I took the wallpaper down to the storage room and began putting it up. When I was done the room was covered in silver wallpaper that reflected everything. I decided to call this the mirror room. I had a reflective curtain made with the wallpaper that I hung over the door. Since there were no windows the door, walls, floor and ceiling were the places that had to be covered.


    I placed my cellphone outside the door then went in and closed the curtain. The curtain was wider then the door and almost blended in with the wallpaper. I activated the suit then deactivated it. I checked on the cellphone and saw that it was fine.


    Cyrus:"I guess the room works."


    I wanted to celebrate my completion of the room, but there was work that had to be done. There was still one more omega that could manipulate memories left that I needed to visit. This one had to have some answers for me.


    *********7 Years Ago/Cyrus POV********


    I ran as fast as I could. I was on a treadmill with wires connected to me as my mother and father watched with a few other people.


    Man:"It''s amazing. This speed is beyond anything we expected."


    Mother:"The children have all adapted better then the adults. Three children and one adult survived the experiments and Cyrus here is the best of them all."


    Father:"He''s far better then the others. I don''t know why, but he''s able to take everything we''ve done to him."


    Man:"Will the others be of any use?"


    Father:"We will move forward with the experiments using Cyrus. We will find a use for the others."


    Man:"I''ll be back for an update in two weeks. I hope to see even more progress."


    Father:"Yes sir."


    The man left then mother and father walked over to me.


    Mother:"Ok you can stop now."


    I jumped off the treadmill to run over to her and all the wires came unplugged. I stopped a foot away from her.


    Cyrus:"Did I do good mommy?"


    Mother:"You did great Cyrus."


    She ruffled my orange hair which made me smile.


    Father:"Ok it''s time for you to head back to your room. Harry take Cyrus back to his room."


    One of the scientists that''s always with my mother and father led me to my room. I shared the room with my brothers and sisters. Lately a lot of them have been leaving. I only have four siblings left. There are three brothers and one sister and I''m the second oldest. My oldest brother lives in a separate room and I''ve been fighting with him recently. He told me that my mother and father aren''t my real parents. My first memory was me waking up to see my parents standing over me while I''m lying on a table. I was given the name Cyrus Thompson which is the last name all of my siblings have.


    They told me that they were my parents and that I lost some of my memories during one of the experiments that they''re using to make me strong. My older brother is always fun to be around. He plays with us all and was much nicer then the other older siblings. I''m glade they all left, but I still felt a little sad. I made it back to my room and went in. Inside I found my three younger siblings. Two boys and one girl were all in different parts of the room. Since I was 10 it was my responsibility as the oldest to take care of them. The older boy was called Harper and he had green hair. He was the weakest, but because of that his body was still in pretty good shape.


    Harper:"Cyrus you''re back."


    Cyrus:"Of course I am. I''m not gonna leave you like our other siblings."


    Harper smiled and gave me a hug. The second boy was named Eric and had blonde hair. In the beginning he was doing good in the experiments then his body gave out. He couldn''t move very much anymore so he was lying on his bed, but when he saw me approaching he looked very happy.

    Eric:"Brother. Welcome back."


    I kneeled down next to him and picked up his hand.


    Cyrus:"Don''t worry. Mom and dad will make you stronger soon."


    Eric:"As long as you don''t leave us I promise to get stronger."


    Cyrus:"I won''t leave."


    I could see the joy on his face, but soon the drugs kicked in which put him to sleep. He needed strong painkillers since his body wasn''t able to take the experiments. I walked over to the bed across from his and sat down. The last sibling was a 9 year old girl who was now blind. She was the favorite for the experiments for a while. She took everything and became stronger, but eventually lost her sight. If she could see then even I would probably lose to her, but without her sight she''s helpless. The two of us had a good relationship since we both had orange hair. Her name was Rita.


    Rita:"Is that you Cyrus?"


    Cyrus:"Yeah."


    I took her hand so that she could feel I was there. She firmly grasped it which really hurt since her strength was far greater than mine.


    Rita:"How''d it go?"


    Cyrus:"They said I did a great job."


    I quickly pulled my hand away so that it wouldn''t get crushed. I could see that doing that saddened her so I put my arm around her shoulder. I knew she liked to feel that people were still around her.


    Cyrus:"I''m still here."


    I was the only one who got this close to her since she would accidentally hurt people all the time. Harper would talk with her while I''m gone, but he won''t let her touch him. He''s scared of her strength, but he does care about her. We all care about each other.


    The next day Harry came to get me for a new experiment. I was told that all experiments on my siblings would be stopped for now. Harry brought me to a room with no windows and a heavy steal door. The only thing in the room was a cylindrical tube with no bottom hanging from the ceiling. There was a camera and speaker in one of the corners of the room. A voice suddenly came out of the speaker.


    Mother:"Cyrus. Take off all your clothes and step under the tube."


    I did what she told me and stepped right under it then it started coming down around me. When it touched the ground I was inside of it.


    Mother:"Now relax and try not to think about anything."


    I closed my eyes and tried to push all my thoughts to the side, but then I started feeling a tingling sensation. I quickly opened my eyes and saw a gas had filled the tube. I was breathing it in and my mind started to become muddled. I couldn''t remember what was happening, but I felt like I needed to escape so I began to pound on the tube. It was surprisingly durable and only slightly cracked. I suddenly lost all feeling in my body and passed out. I don''t know what happened next, but when I woke up I was in a bed all alone. The room I was in looked similar to the one I shared with my siblings, but was a little different. It only had one bed in it and nothing else.


    After a while of me staring at the ceiling someone finally came in. He was looking at some papers in his hands, but when he looked up and saw me looking at him he dashed out of the room.


    Someone:"He''s awake!"


    A few minutes later father walked in.


    Father:"Cyrus do you know who I am?"


    Cyrus:"Yes. You''re my dad."


    Father:"Good. Now how do you feel."


    Cyrus:"A little weak. I can barely move my body."


    Father:"But you can move a little right?"


    Cyrus:"Only a little."


    Father:"That''s good news. It means the experiment was a success. You just need to rest, but when you''re feeling better we''ll begin the next stage of the experiment."


    Cyrus:"Ok."


    I didn''t feel like talking much since my throat hurt. I ended up staying in that room for a while. When I was finally able to walk again I noticed something was different. I was noticing things that I never put much thought into until now. I started to understand what was going on around me. I was just some lab rat that they used and it was the same for my siblings. I found out that the recent experiment increased my intelligence which was why I no longer felt like a little kid. I now understood what my older brother was telling me. We must have been all kidnapped and held here for tests. I was furious so I confronted my mother and father who were obviously not really my parents.


    Cyrus:"Who are you people?"


    Father:"We are the ones who''ll finally take down the omegas with our research and you Cyrus are the product of it."


    Cyrus:"I want to know who I really am. Who are my real parents?"


    Mother:"Your parents are dead. All of you are orphans."


    They had no reason to hide it since I had no where else to go even if I decided to escape. I forced a deal on them. If they take care of the siblings I have left then I''ll continue being their guinea pig. They seemed to expect this and excepted the deal. I had my own room now, but I still went to visit my siblings all the time. I hadn''t visited my older brother in a while so I decided to go see him. He is always forced to wear a collar that severs his head if a button is pressed. A small remote was given to everyone who works here that activates his collar. No one cares if the button is accidentally pressed since my older brother can heal from any injury. It takes time for him to heal after losing his head so that''s the best way to stop him. All you have to do is drag his corpse back if he tries to escape and put a new collar on him. I entered the room and saw him sitting on the bed.


    Cyrus:"Hey Tony."


    Tony:"Cyrus.....it''s been a while."


    I sat down in a chair across from him. I was still ten so I had to lower his chair which was set to his height.


    Cyrus:"I found out the truth about this place."


    Tony:"You seem a little.....different. I''m guessing a new experiment."


    Cyrus:"They increased my intelligence."


    Tony:"So that''s it. You seem more mature. You also look a little depressed."


    Cyrus:"I lost the ignorance of childhood. It''s depressing knowing the truth."


    Tony:"You''re a strong kid Cyrus. I''ve been here for a while and I''ve seen kids older than you break mentally before their bodies had the chance to."


    Cyrus:"How did you end up here?"


    Tony:"They found me walking around in a daze and must of thought I''d work as a test subject. It must have been a surprise when they found out that they can''t kill me. There experiments don''t work on me, but they have been studying my regeneration ability."


    Cyrus:"I wonder what my real parents were like."


    Tony:"I''m sure they loved you very much."


    Cyrus:"What were your parents like."


    Tony:"Mine? Well....they were good. They loved me and I never had any problems."


    Cyrus:"Sounds nice. Wish I was born into your family. Then we could be real brothers."


    Tony:"I already consider you family along with the others."


    Cyrus:"Some more have died since the last time we saw you. Eric, Harper, Rita and I are the only ones left, but I''ll protect them."


    Tony:"You''re not alone. If I can help then I will."


    Cyrus:"They''re ok for now. If I need anything I''ll ask."


    Tony:"Ok. Just don''t forget I''m here to help."


    Cyrus:"Thanks. I gotta go now. They told me that I get some kind of suit today."


    Tony:"Come by after you get it. I''d love to see it."

 Chapter 12- Reveal

    Chapter 12


    It didn''t take long for me to reach the third memory omegas house. I easily got inside and made my way to his study which was where his heat signature was coming from. I was a little cautious since his temperature was going down and I could tell he was lying on the floor. It was just as I suspected when I entered the study. He was lying on the floor dead.


    Someone smashed his head into pieces. I checked his wallet to see if it was him and it was. I couldn''t salvage any memories since his brain was destroyed.


    *Shit! Who did this!*


    I was pissed. This man was suppose to give me answers, but he''s already dead. I decided to take some of his blood since I could at least get a stronger resistance to mental attacks from it. I searched all over his house trying to find any documentation regarding old missions. I knew it was a futile effort, but I didn''t want to leave here empty handed. When I found nothing I sighed dejectedly. The only place left was his computer so I connected to it using the suit.


    All the files were scanned and I found some unusual emails.


    From: Mr. A


    "The mission will commence on January 7th."


    From: Mr. A


    "Your job has come to an end. He on standby until new orders are issued."


    Those were the only two emails he had. He must have deleted all the others and did it very thoroughly since the suit couldn''t find them. The date in the first email made me a little concerned since it was tomorrow. Since my target was already dead and I still didn''t have the information I wanted this night had been waisted. I made my way back to the mirror room and deactivated my suit then went up to my apartment. I fell asleep while thinking about how pissed I was to finally have a lead and then losing it.


    The next morning was the same as always. Lisa, Vincent and I met up with Mia and went to school. All the students were gathered in the arena again, but today there were more teachers.


    Teacher:"We will be continuing the tournament today and there are some people here to give you a few words of encouragement."


    The teacher stepped back and surprisingly the supreme entered the arena. He wasn''t noticed at first since he entered from the rear while we were listening to the teacher. He started to levitate then took off flying over all the students heads and landed near the teachers. This brought out the excitement in the students as they cheered and clapped. The supreme raised his hands.


    Supreme:"Settle down!"


    He must''ve used some ability cause his voice reverberated throughout the arena. The students started to quiet down and the supreme lowered his arms.


    Supreme:"Each of you have been given the chance to rise above your current status! This tournament offers power, but it takes strength to acquire it! You may believe that this tournament is too difficult for students, but the truth is only strength matters! Defeat your enemy and take the power that you want with your own hands! This is a command from your supreme! Win!"


    A roar of cheers boomed out of the students. The supreme shot flames out of one hand and ice shards out of the other. His display of power only further excited the students as their cheers increased. The supreme backed off and stood near the teachers. The man on the end who I didn''t recognize stepped forward. He had short brown hair and two short swords at his side.


    Alex:"Hello students my name Alex and I''m your principal. In all honesty I may hold that title, but I very rarely have anything to do with this school."


    *So that''s our principal. He''s younger looking than I thought he''d be.*


    Alex:"Just like all of you I too went to this school. I had a lot of fun, but one day I realized that life can be cruel. The weak are trampled on and the strong enjoy life."


    I could tell from the teachers expressions that they weren''t liking the principals speech.


    Alex:"Our society is corrupted and I''m going to help fix it. I ask for your help. Today is a revolution!"


    The supreme seemed to realize something as he dashed towards the principal. In the crowd of students fights started breaking out. The supreme shot fire towards Alex, but he just canceled it out causing the flames to die out. The supreme closed the distance and tried to punch Alex. I had to look away because one of the students came charging at me with spikes all over his body. I jumped out of the way and a student that was beside me got impaled.


    I dashed through the crowd trying to find Mia, Lisa and Vincent since we split up when we entered the arena. I started to notice that some of the students fighting had a black bandana tied around their arm. I could only assume it was used as a way to tell friendlies apart. The black bandana group must have been placed here by the principal. The teachers had to get involved to try and stop the fighting between students, but a few ended up getting killed.


    I finally spotted Mia through the crowd. She was making her way to the supreme.


    *Damn it! Don''t get near him!*


    The supreme was currently locked in a deadly fight with the principal. All of his attacks were being canceled and the principal was slowly making his way towards him. I started to push my way through the crowd trying to get to Mia. People that I could only assume were the principals back up started to make a circle around the supreme. Many of them were killed by the supreme while trying to form the circle, but the principal was able to draw his attention back to their fight. Alex was taking damage and had many small cuts and burns. The supreme didn''t have any mental attacks, but it didn''t matter since they wouldn''t work on Alex because of his canceling ability.


    The supreme angled a fire ball to hit right in front of Alex which exploded a few feet away. It sent rocks flying towards Alex and since the rocks weren''t created through an ability he was forced to dodge. The rocks tour through his right arm and rendered it limp. He dropped one of his short swords, but didn''t release his stance. He was still determined to fight.


    *Why the hell did the principal suddenly attack the supreme!*


    I was closing in on Mia who was currently fighting a couple bandana guys. She was covered in her scales from head to toe. The eyes were her only obvious weak point and all she had to do was close them. She was knocking one after the other out, but they seemed to keep flocking to her.


    *Maybe they''re after her!*


    I kicked off the ground and made a jump towards Mia, but she must not of noticed it was me since she punched me right in the gut. I only bounced back a few feet then landed on my feet.

    Mia:"Cyrus!"


    *Now you notice me.*


    Mia:"Sorry! Are you ok!"


    Cyrus:"I''m fine."


    I dashed over to her and we went back to back. I protected her back as she handled the guys in front of her. We talked while we fought.


    Cyrus:"Where are you going?"


    Mia:"To my grandfather of course!"


    Cyrus:"You''ll only be getting in his way!"


    Mia:"I''m going anyway I have to help him!"


    I didn''t think I could talk her out of it so I decided just to go with her.


    Cyrus:"Fine but I''m coming too!"


    Mia:"I already knew that! We''re a pair after all!"


    *This is gonna break my phone, but oh well!*


    I activated a part of the suit. It was the right glove which materialized and sent a pulse out. The pulse can''t be seen and just a glove wasn''t enough to expose me. I decided to use that energy power I got from the girl when I went after Mr. Kelly. It basically gives me control over electricity and if I train it properly it could be come a good weapon, but for now the best I can do is use it like a stun gun. I pointed my index finger out and started firing shots at bandana guys coming towards me. When they were hit their bodies tensed up and started to shake before falling to the ground unconscious.


    Mia continued to push through the people and I stuck to her back. The people surrounding the supreme joined in the fight against him, but to me it looked like the supreme would eventually win. Even Alex seemed to be running on fumes. He had stopped the bleeding on his left arm by wrapping a piece of his coat around it.


    *Did he really think he could win?*


    The supreme finished off the rest of the people attacking him with multiple ice spear attacks. Alex was the only one left, but he had a smile on his face.


    Alex:"Hahahaha! It''s time!"


    Just as he said that there was an explosion near the back of the students that sent many of their mangled bodies flying. Someone was flying through the air while two other people plowed through the students. No one could stop them as they made their way to Alex and the supreme. The three of them took up positions around the supreme. When I saw them I froze in place. The three people were wearing tech from the research lab. They each had a suit similar to mine. I knew this because I had the research notes on the other versions of my suit that were made. These three were the ones that as far as I knew were destroyed when the lab was attacked.

    I didn''t know how those suits survived the destruction of the lab, but this was bad news. I could see Alex smiling then he did something I didn''t expect.


    Alex:"Activate!"


    He had a suit of his own that materialized.

    I didn''t recognize this suit. It wasn''t in the research notes I got from the lab.

    The supreme would definitely lose. If I got involved I''m sure it would be a tough fight. Mia was rushing forward at an increased speed. She didn''t know how much of a threat those people were, but she knew things took a turn for the worse. We finally made it to them, but stopped immediately. They were all just standing still looking at each other. I could tell that this was the quiet before the storm. They were preparing for the real battle that was about to begin. The supreme still hasn''t taken any damage, but that was likely to change soon.


    Mia:"Grandfather!"


    Supreme:"Stay away Mia!"


    Mia:"I''m here to help!"


    Supreme:"It''s to dangerous!"


    Just as the words left his mouth the blue suit that could fly zoomed towards us. It''s punch was aimed for Mia''s head. I shoved her to the side and threw up a block with my arms. The strength behind the hit was more then I could take and it sent me flying backwards. I slammed into a wall and broke almost all of my bones. My arms were mangled and barely holding on by a piece of skin.


    Cyrus:"Aaahhhhh!"


    I cried out in pain. I didn''t expect that punch to have so much power. Mia would have died even with her scales protecting her. My body fell limply to the ground.


    Mia:"Cyruuuusssss!"


    Mia had a look of worry and fear as tears rolled down her face. The flying suit started hovering over towards Mia who didn''t even move as she looked at my mangled body.


    *Shit!*


    I had a strong urge to save Mia. I originally got close to her because she offered me a chance to get information from the supremes computer files. At some point I must of grown fond of her. I didn''t want to see her die. My bones snapped back in place and the injuries repaired themselves. I stood up in my tattered clothes which drew the flying suits attention. I could see a smile on Mia''s face.

    Chapter 13


    I smashed my foot into the ground to create a dust cloud then shot forward towards the flying suit. When I reached them I was swatted to the side. There was so much strength in that hit that I could feel it even through the suit. I was able to land on my feet a few meters away.


    *Shit! I have to take at least one of them out!*


    The dust cloud cleared when I was hit so we were visible to all. The picture of shadow had popped up online so some of the students recognized me. Sadly it was mostly the bandana guys and they looked relieved.


    Bandana Guy:"Hey! Shadows here to help!"


    I shot that guy with my stun gun.


    Cyrus:"Like hell I''m here to help you guys!"


    The flying suit zoomed towards me. I knew that grounding it was the first priority so I dashed towards it. I used a baseball slid to get under it and grabbed it by the ankles.

    The metal around my grip started melting so I squeezed as hard as I could then slammed it into the ground. Before it could react I stomped on the thrusters I could see then placed both of my hands on it''s head.

    The mask barely started melting when my wrists were gripped and torn off it''s face. I was then kicked into the air which caused me to shut my eyes. When I opened them a fire ball was headed towards me.

    I took the fire ball, but no damage. I crashed into the seats in the arena and destroyed quite a few. For a second I was a little dizzy, but I recovered fast. I stood up and looked over to the flying suit. Wires had extended out of it''s hands and attached to the destroyed thrusters. It was repairing itself. My suit obviously repaired a lot faster so I felt a little more confident.


    *If the other three are like this one than I might be able to win.*


    I leapt towards it while firing a few stun shots which didn''t seem to do anything then rammed both of my feet into it''s chest. I quickly put some distance between us and checked to see what damage I did. The wires had been smashed, but new ones appeared as it tried to stand up.

    I was invisible, but since I didn''t know what the suit could do I still kept my distance and tried to circle around behind it. It didn''t seem to know where I was so I prepared for another attack. Just as I was about to lung forward something slammed into my back sending me flying. I smashed into a wall and was stuck in it.


    Cyrus:"Fuck that hurt!"


    The walls were made very sturdy so being driven into one meant there was a lot of force behind that hit. I couldn''t move since my body and suit needed a few seconds to repair the massive damage. When that flying one turned me into a pile of mush my skin and bones were the only thing that needed fixing, but the suit takes a few for seconds. My mouth was overflowing with blood and all I could taste was a combination of iron from my blood and the dust that came off the wall. I strained my eyes that were covered in the blood flowing out of my head and tried to see what hit me. It was the big dark blue suit.

    The third suit was still helping Alex fight the supreme, but it didn''t look like they need each others help. The supreme was being pushed back easily and it looked like Alex was just playing with him.


    Alex:"You''re gonna die old man!"


    Supreme:"What is that suit!?"


    Alex:"The people who invented it never had a chance to name it, but simply put it''s an anti-omega suit. These were made so that alphas could fight on even ground against an omega, but it looks like things aren''t so even!"


    Alex made two cuts across the supremes chest that sprayed out blood. The supreme had a healing power, but since Alex could cancel it he wasn''t able to fix his injuries. He fell to his knees for a moment before jumping back up to continue the fight, but Alex already had his blades on the supremes throat. Neither of them moved.


    Alex:"I want you to look into my eyes while I kill you."


    Alex''s helmet dematerialized and a crazed smile was shown.


    Alex:"Goodbye!!"


    Alex suddenly tensed up then fell to his knees unconscious.


    A few seconds ago.....


    I ripped my right hand out from the wall and pointed my finger at Alex who just placed his blades against the supremes throat.


    Cyrus:"I''m gonna need your help supreme."


    I fired a stun shot that hit Alex at the top of his spinal cord where it connected to the brainstem. I hoped this would kill him, but if it didn''t I doubt he''ll be up anytime soon. Even if he''s healed it won''t wake him up. He had fallen to the ground and wasn''t moving. The supreme had jumped back, but still got a slight cut across his throat. It wasn''t very deep so he was fine.


    The three suits noticed this and all ran towards Alex. The supreme dashed away and grabbed Mia who had just been watching the entire time I was fighting. She hadn''t tried to get up. The supreme was running for the exit with Mia in his arms and was met with very little resistance since most of the students were already dead and the suits were checking on Alex.


    *Come on! I just saved you so you could help me with this fight not run away!*


    I pulled the rest of my body out of the wall and stood there looking at the other suits. The flying one was still damaged, but able to fly again. The big one picked up Alex and they all three looked in the direction of the fleeing supreme who was now almost out the door then over to me. I waved then pointed my stun gun finger at them. Even if I shot it they wouldn''t feel it with the suits on, but I wanted them to know I was still ready for a fight.

    Flying suit:"Honestly I''m surprised you helped them SHADOW! You picked the wrong side!"


    The voice was quite feminine and sounded kind of cute. In a mocking tone I replied.


    Cyrus:"That''s just adorable! Is the little girl trying to sound threatening!"


    Flying suit:"Next time I''ll personally rip your head off!"


    Wires came out of the flying suit and attached to the other two then it shot up into the air while dragging them along. It flew away at an incredible speed. I let out a big sigh.


    Cyrus:"Now what should I do?"


    *I revealed that I was shadow so I''ll probably be hunted down and I still haven''t found any information on the lab attack from seven years ago. *


    Thinking about the lab reminded me of the email I found last night that talked about something happening today. If that was connected to this attack than maybe Alex has some information.


    I decided on my next target and since he was currently unconscious I thought now would be a good time to go after him. My suit wirelessly connected to the power grid. I couldn''t do anything except monitor it which was all I needed. If they deactivate their suits in the city to hide somewhere then the pulse it emits will be picked up as a disturbance. I leapt up through the hole in the arena and landed in the roof. I saw which direction they went so I ran that way too.


    I connected to radio waves so I could listen for any reports about them. The suit would sort through all the information so I added monitoring the texts sent between phones by hacking all phone towers. I was jumping from building to building and quite a few people noticed me. The suit was flooded with messages it collected, but all of them seemed to be about me. I kept running hoping to catch up. The power grid finally picked up a disturbance that was a short distance away from my current location.


    I took a look at the address and started in that direction. It turned out to be one of the safe houses created by the supreme.


    Cyrus:"I guess they think the supreme wouldn''t look for them here."


    It was a simple house with one floor. I already knew that it had extra space underground that was reinforced to keep people out, but that wouldn''t matter since I had all the security codes. I stayed invisible and entered through the front door. No one was there to greet me so I assumed they had already gone to a lower level. I quickly found the door to the basement and opened it then descended into the darkness which wasn''t very dark thanks to the suits night vision. After a while of searching I finally found the hidden door.


    I needed more than just security codes to get in, but having them made things a lot easier. Wires extended out from my suit and touched the door. There was a small light and a piece slid up revealing a screen. The wires touched the screen and it came on. I wasn''t sure exactly what the suit was doing, but I did see a lot of windows open up on the screen.


    The suit has a small amount of intelligence and I can understand what it''s thinking most of the time, but I always leave stuff like this to my suit without trying to understand what it''s doing. Since the suit uses my brain as it''s storage device all it''s coding and stored knowledge is actually somewhere in my mind. When it needs information I can actually feel it pulling that information out of my brain which gives me a slight itch on my scalp. I could feel it pulling the codes stored in my memory to help hack in.


    After a while the wires retracted and I knew it had finished hacking. On the screen I could see all the cameras located inside this safe houses lower floors. There was a camera on me, but it wasn''t hard to swap out the footage. Luckily no one inside was in the monitor room so I was able to change it before being noticed.


    They were all inside. Alex was the only one still wearing his suit since it wasn''t deactivated before he fell unconscious. He was lying on a bed alone in a small room. I saw two males and one female who were discussing something. Sadly I didn''t have audio so I had no idea what they were talking about. Something about them seemed a little familiar to me then I noticed it. The girl had orange hair, one of the guys had green hair and the last one had blonde hair.


    Cyrus:"Wait! Is that.."


    Before I could finish my sentence a voice came from behind me which caused me to spin around.


    Vincent:"What are you doing here?"


    Vincent was standing alone. I still had my suit on and I wasn''t sure if he knew I was Cyrus yet. Since he and his sister are SSS they weren''t required to be at the arena with the rest of the students. The two of them had to wait until it was the stronger students turn to fight.


    Vincent:"The supreme told me who you are under that mask. I thought we were going to be friends Cyrus."


    Cyrus:"Guess that''s not going to happen. Where''s your sister?"


    Vincent:"There was an attack by the rebels on the other side of town so we split up. I saw you leaving the arena first so I got to be the one to confront you."


    Cyrus:"Listen we really shouldn''t fight here."


    Vincent seemed to ignore me.


    Vincent:"I didn''t want to violate a friends privacy so I never used my ability, but I guess it''s a good thing I already collected your DNA or else I wouldn''t be able to use it."


    His face started to melt along with the rest of his skin. I could see something under his skin and when it was finally visible I sighed and said sarcastically to myself.


    *This is going to be........interesting.*


    I saw my own face. He had completely changed into me.


    Vincent:"Hmmmm. Interesting memories."


    Cyrus:"You stole my memories and my face?"


    Vincent:"I am everything that makes you who you are. Activate."


    A suit that looked exactly like mine materialized around Vincent.

    Chapter 14


    I didn''t want to fight him since he was one of Mia''s friends, but refusing wasn''t an option. Vincent sent his fist flying towards me. I slightly tilted my head to the side and his fist crashed into the wall next to my face causing a sizable dent. That wall was actually the hidden door so it wouldn''t be easy to destroy. Sound doesn''t transmit through so the people inside wouldn''t hear this fight, but I won''t be able to keep the monitoring system under my control while I fight.


    I grabbed his arm and rammed my knee into his stomach. I used my legs to lock his arm in a hold then broke the arm.


    Vincent:"Aaaahhhh!!!"


    Cyrus:"If you''re gonna be me then you can take a little pain."


    I grabbed his other arm then snapped it too.


    Vincent:"Fuuuuuuck!!!!"


    Cyrus:"Don''t worry I''ll be done soon."


    I released my hold and grabbed his head and shoved my fingers into his skull. They didn''t get very deep since he was able to jump back. His arms had already started to heal.


    Cyrus:"So you got my healing ability too."


    Vincent:"I told you I got everything that makes you who you are."


    Cyrus:"We''ll see about that."


    I lunged towards him and slammed him into the wall. I pinned both his legs with mine and the one healed arm with one of mine.

    I shoved my scaly right arm into his chest and pulled out his heart.


    Cyrus:"Lets see how good of a copy you are."


    I tossed his heart to the side then tour out his spinal cord and kicked him in an arch. He smashed through the roof and landed on the front lawn. I leapt through the hole his body left in the house and landed a few feet away. He was lying on the ground not moving.


    Cyrus:"I guess it was a cheap copy, but it still impressed me. With a little hard work he could be really strong."


    I wanted to be thorough so I walked over to him and placed my hands on his head.

    His head started to melt. My fingers melted through the helmet then through his head like butter. Even if he did completely copy my healing ability too it would take a little while to fix this. If the brain is destroyed the healing takes longer.

    I left his body there and went back to the basement. I first checked to see where they were and was relieved when I found them in the same place as before the fight. They still hadn''t checked the monitors so this fight wasn''t noticed. I took control again and decided I had to open the door now since it wouldn''t be long before someone shows up to investigate what just happened.

    I was told today that they completed all the experiments they planned to do on me. A new batch of kids were brought in to be used. After the last experiment I started to feel like I was never alone. I wasn''t sure what this feeling meant so I tried to ignore it. I was told that I would be showing my new power off to some people. When I entered the room I noticed an industrial treadmill and blocks of some kind of metal then I looked towards the mirror wall. I heard a voice play out of a speaker.


    Father:"Cyrus welcome to the mirror room. Today you will display the power we gave you."


    Cyrus:"Yes sir. Activate!"


    This was the first time I activated the suit, but I felt quite comfortable and better then before. I had to run on the treadmill for hours as fast as I could and lift then break the metal blocks. I had to spar with a few people too, but they weren''t very hard to beat. They brought in Tony as a test dummy.


    Father:"Ok kill him in as many different ways as you can as fast as you can."


    Cyrus:"Why!?"


    Tony:"It''s alright Cyrus. I won''t die anyway."


    Cyrus:"I don''t want to do that to you!"


    Tony:"Listen, if you don''t do it they might do something to those three you''re trying to protect."


    Cyrus:"But......."


    Tony:"Nothing''s gonna change. I won''t hate you and you won''t hurt me so do it. I''ll be here for you whenever you need me."


    I stilled my resolve and clenched my fists then attacked. I don''t remember how many times I killed him, but there was an amazing amount of blood. I just stood there after I couldn''t think of any other ways to kill him.


    Father:"Good job. Thanks to your display this lab has a bright future."


    I waited there for Tony to finish healing.


    Tony:"That last one really hurt."


    Cyrus:"Sorry."


    I said in a low voice with my eyes fixed on the ground.


    Tony:"Don''t worry. I''m fine."


    He ruffled my hair which made me smile. I always felt better when Tony was around. Fire suddenly covered my vision. The room I was in exploded. Tony pulled me close and tried to protect me with his body. My vision went black as I lost consciousness.


    My body was aching as I woke up. Something felt wrong with me so I tried looking around. I could see the room I was in had been destroyed, but it was night. When the display ended I knew it was only 1 in the afternoon so I must have been out for awhile. I forced myself up as pain wracked my body.

    I stepped inside the safe house bunker. I made my way to the room they had been standing in and pushed the door open.


    *I finally found them.*


    It was empty inside.

    I ran to the monitor room and saw the video was tampered with.


    Cyrus:"They must have noticed me at some point and hacked it themselves. Shit! So where did they go."


    It must have been during the fight with Vincent or before I even hacked it the first time. They might have already been gone long before I got here. My suit didn''t even realize it which means one of there''s is a better hacker.


    Cyrus:"Now what."


    They were already gone and I had no idea where they went. Vincent might heal at any moment so I needed to get out of here. I ran out of the bunker and found Vincent still dead.


    Cyrus:"Maybe he really is dead? I thought he said he became everything that''s makes me who I am. Guess he was wrong."

    Chapter 1


    He ran through the jungle as fast as he could. All of the strength in his legs had left him already, but he continued to run on desperation alone.


    Runner:"I....ha....have to.....ha........get back!"


    He tried to motivate himself by speaking out loud, but his gasps for air got in the way. A slight flicker of light was seen in the distance which made him smile.


    Runner:"I''m almost.....ha.......there!"


    With his motivation back now thanks to the lights he picked up his speed. Sadly that was a mistake. His leg was caught on a vine and sent him tumbling face first into the ground. The smell of blood and dirt filled his nostrils.


    Runner:"Shit!.....I broke my nose!"


    He scrambled to his feet, but abruptly fell back down.


    Runner:"No! No! No!"


    Along with the broken nose his foot was sprained. He drew his sword and used it to keep balance as he hopped towards the town lights. The cities main gate was now in site guarded by two sturdy looking knights who each held a torch.


    Runner:"I made it!"


    He smiled and tried to hop forwards. Once again he fell to the ground. He looked towards his feet to see what tripped him then paled at what he saw.


    Runner:"N-N-No! They''re here! Knights help!"


    Wrapped around his foot was some sort of string. He called out for the guards, but when he hurriedly glanced over at the main gate his fears were confirmed.


    Large blood stains colored the walls surrounding the gate and a man stood between two corpses with holes in their chests. He wore a white cloak and shirt with black pants and boots. The sleeves on his shirt all the way up to his elbows were covered in blood. His short golden hair and baby blue eyes gave him the appearance of a prince; however, an intimidating aura surrounded him.


    Person 2:"I had him! You didn''t need to kill those guards!"


    The runner twisted his head back around to see another man standing in the shadows. The string around his foot lead back to this new guy.


    Prince:"He screamed so they would''ve got involved anyway."


    The man in the shadows stepped out. He wore the same outfit as the other one except his clothes were all black. His hair was slightly shorter than the princes and was brown with a red tint to it. Black snake like scales could be seen crawling up his neck and stopping right below his chin. His eyes were green as emeralds while his pupils were vertical slits and an expression full of frustration was plastered across his face.


    Shadow Man:"You could''ve just knocked them out."


    Prince:"It''s actually not that easy to knock a person out."


    Shadow man decided to give up on his argument with the prince and turned his attention to the runner.


    Shadow Man:"We know you took it. Just give it back and we''ll let you go."


    The runner was trembling.


    Runner:"H-Here."


    He pulled a silver chain out of his pocket and tossed it to shadow mans feet.


    Shadow Man:"Thank you."


    Shadow man knelt down and picked it up. Hanging on the chain was a blue stone. Shadow man gave the necklace a quick look before pocketing it.


    Shadow Man:"Alright we got it back. Lets go."


    Prince:"Wait Judas."


    The shadow man who was apparently named Judas was about to leave when he was stopped by the prince.


    Judas:"What?"


    Prince:"What about him?"


    The prince pointed to the runner who once again began to tremble. Every time the prince took a step closer to him his heart would skip a beat.


    Judas:"What about him? We leave him here."


    Prince:"Oh."


    Judas looked over to the runner.


    Judas:"Go."


    The runner pulled himself up using his sword as support and began to hobble toward the city gate. He broke out into a cold sweat as he passed by the prince.


    Prince:"Sorry about all this man."


    Prince placed his hand on the back of the runners neck.


    Runner:"I-It''s fine."


    The runner forced a smile then turned back towards the gate. He wasn''t able to take another step before falling to the ground. The back of his shirt was dyed completely red with blood from his spinal cord being torn out.


    Prince:"Damn that''s more disgusting than I thought it''d be."


    The prince let go of runners spinal cord and it fell to the ground.


    Judas:"What the fuck Kal! Why''d you kill him!"


    Kal:"You know he saw too much. They would be pissed if we let him live."


    Judas ground his teeth together in frustration.


    Judas:"Don''t you feel any hesitation! You just took a life!"


    Kal shrugged.


    Kal:"Hey you do understand how lucky we are to be here. If we mess up they could send us back and we''d be stuck there again. I want the chance to explore this world."


    Judas:"I just can''t accept killing people so easily."


    Kal:"Whatever. I''m headed back so come whenever you''re done being angry."


    Kal disappeared into the night. Judas took one last look at the three corpses left by his brother before turning away and following after Kal. He never thought his brother would be this blood thirsty, but it was something he needed to accept.


    ***************1 week before****************


    Two men side by side stealthily crept towards the door at the end of the cement hallway. Light sounds of breathing could be heard inside their helmets. Both of them were holding assault rifles and wearing full body armor with a blue bandana around their necks.

    Man 1:"I''ll go in first. You follow after me."


    Man 2 nodded. A squeak echoed out every time they took a step because of the sweat filling their boots. One look would tell you the door in front of them was so weak it could fall off at anytime. Man 1 kicked in the door and rushed in followed by man 2.


    Man 2:"Where are they!?"


    Man 1:"Check behind the desk."


    There were no signs of other people inside the room. Besides an old wooden desk the room had nothing else. Man 1 took his place by the window and looked out. Man 2 walked over to the desk while pointing his assault rifle at it. His eyes opened wide when he saw what was behind it.


    Man 2:"It was a..."


    BOOOOOOOM!!!


    The desk exploded sending pieces of wood in every direction. Man 2 caught a few wood spikes in the throat.


    Man 1:"Dave!"


    Man 1 screamed his partners man before suddenly falling to the ground. A puddle of blood formed around him pouring from the hole in his head. Looking close tiny pieces of glass could be seen embedded in the bullet hole. Everything went silent until a new man stepped into the room. He pulled the blood stained bandannas off the two corpses.


    Person 1:"We win."

    A message popped up in front of his face then his vision was covered in darkness. When light finally returned to his eyes he was floating inside of a cylindrical glass tube. He was surrounded by a green liquid that filled the tube and enveloped his body. Besides a breathing apparatus and a wire connected to the back of his neck he was completely naked.


    The liquid began to empty out from the bottom and soon he was left standing inside the tube. He pulled off his breathing apparatus then reached around and yanked the wire off his neck. He glanced to the side to see the man in the tube next to his. Once the two of them were disconnected and all of the liquid was gone the tube slid open.


    Person 1:"Are we done yet Abe? I''m ready for lunch."


    The men stepped out of their tubes and leisurely walked over to a rack holding two bath robes. Standing beside the rack was a middle aged man wearing glasses and a suit.


    Abe:"That was the last simulation for today so the two of you are free to do whatever you want after the briefing."


    The two men sighed before heading off to the shower to wash off some of the green liquid that was still clinging to their bodies.


    Person 2:"When do you think they''ll actually tell us what we''re doing here?"


    Person 1:"Who knows? Maybe never."


    They both quickly showered and changed then headed off for the briefing. Like usual they were the last to arrive. The room had no windows so it felt a little stuffy and a conference table with chairs took up most of the space. The two men stood at the end of the table next to Abe.


    Seated Person:"Begin."


    Abe:"Today Jesse and Jimmy have completed the thousandth battle inside of Xelea Gamings Virtual Reality Simulator. I officially recommend them for project Next Phase."


    Jesse and Jimmy just stood there listening. They were mostly left in the dark about why they were here running simulations, but since this job paid so well they were afraid to push for answers. The technology they have seen here astounded them. It wasn''t the first time since last year was already full of amazing technological advances, but this place seemed to be several years ahead.


    About a year ago Xelea Gaming Industries released the first  virtual reality console. It was just a black box with a helmet. The news of it spread fast and every gamer fought to get their hands on one. Their price was the most surprising part since it was so cheap. It was like the company wanted as many people as possible to get one. Right after that NASA completed construction on their orbital elevator and fully opened the space station to the public.


    Seated Person:"Next they will be competing against Henry''s team. Tomorrow morning at eight o''clock I want them prepped and ready to enter the pods."


    Abe:"Yes sir."


    The meeting ended at that and everyone quickly left the room. Abe, Jesse and Jimmy were the only ones left in there.


    Abe:"Tomorrow''s gonna be tough. Henry''s team has made it just as far as you two."


    Jesse:"We got this."


    Jesse smiled fearlessly.


    Abe:"Just be sure to get plenty of rest tonight."


    Jimmy:"Well we still have practice for today."


    Jimmy looked down at his watch.


    Jimmy:"Shit we''re gonna be late! Lets go!"


    The two brothers took off running hopping to make it to the martial arts lesson before it was too late. Their training had only started half a year ago along with all these simulations, but the two excelled at it. While fighting their instructor they could already win in a serious match two out of every five times.


    It was amazing progress considering they had never studied martial arts before and their instructor had been doing it for years. They were martial arts prodigies.

I don''t have any motivation to write this story anymore so I''m giving up. I''ve started a new story called Becket The Elf?</a> please check it out.  I''ll leave this up for a little while, but I''ll delete this entire story soon.
