the prologue
¡®¡¯Elitas Inc. it started as a small gaming oriented business but soon it would become the only major game publisher in a few short years after being founded, the man who created the company Eli davidson started out small making a few mobile games. these games sold surprisingly well bringing him and his small team of five people a large amount of money, this money enabled them to buy the rights to some of the more well known subscription based games on the market, after this the company eventually made enough money to put EA out of business. This surprised the entire gaming industry and led to Elitas Inc. buying the right to all the major games that were out there.this led to them being the only major developer and publisher for the gaming market.
And as you might imagine they began to release their own games, the focused mainly on MMORPG¡¯s and the like creating vast worlds and story that would dazzle anyone and every one. But their most well known game ¡®Planax¡¯ was their crowning achievement, supposedly it was said to have over %60 of the population playing it. this of course made them a vast amount of money which led to the creation of CIS or the cerebral input system, this device attached to the head of the user allowed for electrical impulses to be sent into the brain and also to the helmet that was worn sending the user''s mind into a new world, this allowed for the creation of VR games the first of which is set to come out this week.¡¯¡¯
as this was said a youth looked up from the the sofa he was lying on, he raised on arm and slapped it down onto the remote of the TV shutting it off.
letting out a groan the youth rolled off the sofa and into his feet, dragging himself over to and up the flight of stairs that were in the corner of the room, as he reached the top a door swung open and out of it walked what would be considered a beauty by many men, but to him she was simply a family member and nothing more, she looked at him and gave a look of disgust while shoving past him.
for as long as he could remember she had been like that, who knows why she was so hostile be he didn''t care.
the youth quickly entered into the bathroom and gave himself a quick shower, rushing out of the bathroom and pulling on a uniform he left the house with a bag on his back and earphones on his head. as he walked to the school he attended he couldn''t help but notice all the poster and ad for the next game by Elitas Inc., he could see people all around him talking about the game but of course he couldn''t hear them.

as he entered the classroom he took of the earphones and sat down, all around him people were talking about the new game its name hasn''t been released yet but already leaked information was aboud.

as the youth sat there with his head down baret paying attention to what was going on around him one of his classmates walked up to him.
¡®¡¯oi fuck face¡¯¡¯ a rather charming young man said to him.
¡®¡¯what¡¯¡¯ the youth responded without looking up.
¡®¡¯you know what give it now¡¯¡¯ said the other young man holding out his hand, clearly this man was trying to extort money and no was trying to stop him, the reason for this was the fact that his parents owned the entire school, his name was david henderson.
¡®¡¯hendy just fuck off I can''t be bothered with you¡¯¡¯ the youth said still not looking up, this caused henderson to clench his fists in anger, he then grabbed one of the wooden chairs in the class and smashed it over the youths back, the youth yelped in both pain and surprise but henderson wasn''t finished he then started to grab more and more chairs smashing each over the youths back, as the chairs in reach ran out he then pulled out a pen knife and jammed it into the spine of the youth.
¡®¡¯ hmmpf you deserved it¡¯¡¯ henderson said as he spat in the youth''s face and walked off.
as the youth sat there sobbing in pain a teacher walked in and saw the scene, needless to say he was rushed to hospital where the youth was told there was a %50 chance that he may never walk again and for a few months he was to stay in the hospital.
during this time on thought went through his head.

chapter 1
as the youth lay on the hospital bed he thought to himself way of getting his revenge, only one of these ways even seemed remotely possible due to his condition.
he had decided to destroy henderson inside the new game by Elitas inc.
this was a task that will be extremely difficult due to the fact that henderson commanded the COS clan otherwise known as the conquerors of shamballa.
The COS clan was one of the two top clans in the last MMORPG that elitas released and apparently due to this they already had signed a deal with Elitas Inc. to have a foothold in game.
on the other side of the two big clans was the defenders of valhalla, they were a smaller group compared to the COS but generally had more skilled players, the youth didn''t want to join this clan. they may be at each others throats but there was someone in that clan that he didn''t want to associate with.
he decided that he would create his own clan but that would have to come later after he had established a power base in game, so he did the obvious thing he could do.
he called his parents and asked if he could get the game and the CIS.
¡®¡¯mother can i get the new game that Elitas are releasing?¡¯¡¯ the youth asked with a small amount of hope in his voice.
in response to this his mother simply handed him a cheque with over $3000 on it. his exchanges with his mother usually went like this as he had not once heard her speak to or about him since he was a child, he never knew why it was like this but in truth he didn''t care it was what he was used to by now.
he quickly cashed the cheque online and ordered the game and CIS which would be delivered on release day and started to research on the basics of them game.

Constitution- governs health and damage.ie strength
Endurance- governs stamina
resilience- governs defence
Intelligence- magic damage
wisdom- mana pool
finesse- governs speed and dexterity
races-
human- jack of all trades-medium mana
all stats start at 20.
elf- two varieties- high elf, dark elf
high elf- magically inclined, high magic, low martial prowess
con,end,finesse start at 10, rest at 30
dark elf- high martial prowess low magic
stats opposite of high elf
Ork-has no wisdom,finesse or intelligence- everything else is at 40
rare variants exist that have mind related stats
starting classes-
Warrior- start with hard leather armor, rusted iron sword and small dented buckler
Thief- start with tattered leather armor, rusted dagger and rusted short sword.
spell caster- starts with tattered robe, rotten staff.
cleric- same as mage.
archer- starts with tattered cloth armor, bent short bow and 30 arrows.
this was all the information that had currently been released and looking over this the most probable way of working alone would have to be the thief or the warrior, the spell caster would be weak in terms of defence and the cost of mana potions would only get higher with every spell learned. the cleric relied on a team to level so that was out of the question for now, the archer was very similar to the cleric but also who knows how much arrows could cost so it wasn''t to good for solo players.
the thief was good as it most likely had stealth abilities and other related ones while the warrior was the front lines man and considering there was many different ways of fighting on the front lines of battle it could be used very differently than most classes.
also it is said that there are many hidden classes in the game but they had to be found and usually only one person could get them.
as the days passed until release the youth could only sit there waiting,doing research on the game only took up so much time. eventually it was time for the launch of the game.
the youth put on the CIS and started it up, a quick jolt of electricity suspended his motor functions so that he wouldn''t hurt himself while playing, slowly what he saw changed and in front of him appeared a woman wearing a flowing white one piece.

as she said this blue light grew around zero, as the light passed he saw himself in the middle of a city, behind him stood a massive castle. around him other people started to appear, many different races appeared mostly human or elf but every 40 or so there was a on ork.
opening his inventory zero saw the starter ¡®gear¡¯ that he was given. the sword was so rusted in might as well be useless as it barely gave even 2 damage, the armor was only slightly better as it gave him 4 defence the buckler was probably the saving grace of the class as it had an extra effect giving it a %5 chance for a physical attack to be parried.
this %5 may not seem like much but if even one attack could be parried it open up the chance to take advantage of the opponent when they were weak. as then even a single strike could be the difference between life and death.

chapter 2

walking through the town zero couldn''t help but noticed that it seemed to act like a real town, the npc went about the place as if they were living creatures. if a person wanted to use programming of this level then they would be hard pressed to make it flow so seamlessly.
after walking for a few minutes zero arrived on the outskirts of the city out here he could see groups of players beating on what would be considered the basic ¡®enemy¡¯ otherwise known as a bunny. walking by them he continued towards a rather large looking forest.
pulling out his ¡®sword¡¯ zero began to walk cautiously deeper into the forest, every few minutes he could hear the sound of the underbrush rustling. the rustling began to get louder before all of a sudden a small wolf headed green skinned creature appeared in front of him.

as the kobold leaped at him trying to use its small sharp claws to rip his flesh apart, zero activated his only skill bash, this caused the buckler on his arm to glow in a faint grey light before he swung it towards the kobold, the shield connected with a loud crunch and a number appeared over the kobolds head - 12.
Zero¡¯s eyes widened as this number was nearly double the amount of attack he had, e quickly checked his skill list as the kobold slowly raised itself to his feet and he saw that the skill was grey out with a small green bar along the side slowly going down. seeing that the kobold was still reeling from the blow he delivered zero quickly dash up to him and swept its legs from underneath it causing it to fall to the ground again, as it fell he stabbed towards it head impaling it delivering a fatal blow.
the body of the kobold began to glow before turning into a black dust and floating off leaving behind a few copper coins.
¡®¡¯just a few bits of copper, thought it would leave a bit more¡¯¡¯zero said aloud as he pocketed them.
for the next few hours this routine continues, search the forest, get attacked by a kobold, kill it and gather the copper. doing this was not only tedious but also tiring. the only good thing to come out of it was that he had been able to level to 2 and put all five of the gained stat points into constitution. raising his attack by one and his health by twenty.
during this time his ¡®sword¡¯ had broken and he had resorted to beating the kobold by bashing them with his shield before ripping out their throat with his teeth, he did this as his fists did even less damage than his ¡®sword¡¯.
¡®¡¯my gear is beginning to break better head back and get it repaired¡¯¡¯ he thought to himself as he slowly exited the forest into the plains that were in front of the city, again he could see other players grouping together to kill the bunnies, as he walked past he couldn''t help but let out a ¡®hmmph¡¯ as if to say that the players around here couldn''t even kill a single bunny without help.
hearing this a few of the players called out to him.

seeing that zero had been to laugh the made a thrust the sword into the guts of zero, as the blade entered zero¡¯s body a damage number appeared over his head - 3.
this caused zero to laugh even more mainly due to the fact that the man''s attack had done basically nothing to him.
he then responded by driving the edge of his buckler in the man''s throat. - 23 as the number popped out the man couldnt help but be suprised, leaping back he then shouted for the group with him to attack, as he finish telling them to attack one of the mages cast the spark spell, this made a golfball sized ball of flames speed towards him, zero raised the buckler to block it but as he raised it an narrow lodged itself inside of his chest, - 32
the amount of damage that a single arrow caused seemed to be to high to zero¡¯s mind, but as he thought this the fire ball splashed against the arrow''s shaft lighting it on fire and causing a status effect.
-46, you have been set alight -5 HP per second until the fire has been snuffed out
¡®jesus the damage shouldnt be this high, they are only level 1-2 this isnt right¡¯
¡®¡¯ha brat i told you to shut it now i guess i have to kill you¡¯¡¯ the large man said as he rushed at zero aiming to spear him with the blade of his sword. as the blade drew nearer zero simply raised his shield but right as the blade¡¯s tip touched it he threw his entire weight behind the shield and twisted his arm to the left causing the man''s blade to be sent flying. a grey auar then surrounded the shield and zero smashed it into the man throat yet again. -67
the man was left with only a single point of hp left but he was unable to do anything as zero leapt onto him and forced him to the ground.
¡®¡¯ i thought you were going to kill me?¡¯¡¯ zero snarled at him before using his teeth to rip out the man''s throat killing him, the other player around them seeing the scene that had just happened couldn''t believe it. how could someone using just a shield kill another player and better yet why rip out his throat.
¡®¡¯alright then whose next¡¯¡¯ zero roared at the surrounding people but all he got in response was a flurry of attacks ranging from arrows to spell and even a few swords were thrown at him.

during the time that zero was being killed on the walls of the city a cloaked man could be seen .
¡®¡¯hmm ferocity check, some skill and a good amount of bravery, hmm maybe just maybe¡¯¡¯ the figure said to himself before walking off towards the city center.

her is another chapter and as yo can see by how rought it is i am not used to writing in the third person and i may consider changing the viewpoint to first, also a shield is also a weapon if handled right, arrows do more damage the shorter they have to fly. anywho i hope that you enjoy and will leave a few comments on how i could improve this story and the like
