The night was clear without a speck of rain. All mighty creatures hiding in every corners of the world could feel his presence. They felt his awakening from the long slumber. How long had it been? They were all excited. He came back! Their leader, king, emperor, savior ¡­The list goes on and on. With shouts of joy, roars of triumph, screeches of gladness, they began to travel millions of miles to reach him. Their speed was frightening, and all other races living on the planet trembled in fear and hid in their homes. The sky look like it was filled with shooting stars. They have to hurry. No longer do they need to hide. Although these creatures were the strongest living beings on the planet, they hid their power. Hiding it from the greediness of other races. They did not want to get involved in wars for power and territories, in shaky alliances that could break easily, or in servitude to kings and emperors. They only served one being. All these creatures were what people called ¡®monsters¡¯, beings with the inborn ability to absorb and contain unlimited amount of mana and to evolve into something much greater. They were feared and hated by all races. However, he did not rejected them. He understood them and decided to forsake his humanity to be with them. In time he became a monster himself, the strongest of them all, and led all other monsters. On this day, Kurai Kodomo, overlord of all monsters, had awaken. ***************************************************************************************** ¡°Five more minutes, mom¡­¡± ¡®Oh wait¡­I¡¯m an adult now¡­that was probably my phone alarm clock¡­weird, I don¡¯t remember having any song that sound like thunder. Those new heavy metal bands are annoying. Isn¡¯t soft and relaxing music the best? Yeah?¡¯ Debating whether to wake up for work or not, our overlord turned in his blanket. However, a soft and melodic voice interrupted his train of thoughts. ¡°Kodomo-sama, you have finally awaken!¡± ¡®Huh? Who¡¯s that? Am I still dreaming?¡¯ Turning his blanket aside, the overlord look up with sleepy eyes to see a beautiful maid standing beside his bed. She was perhaps the most beautiful woman he had ever met, even models in his knowledge paled in comparison. White snow skin with straight silver hair. Her oval face was furnished with full petite pink lips and sharp eyes with long eyelashes. Her eyes were ocean blue with glint of light in them, making them shine in the darkness. She had the perfect body proportion. Average breasts with thin waist showing not an ounce of fat. Her maid uniform was classic, with black and white as the main colors and frills on the edges. The maid currently held a cool expression but you can see joy from her eyes at her lord¡¯s awakening. ¡®When did I get a maid? And why does she look so familiar? HUH? Why is Alena here? Isn¡¯t she just an npc?¡¯ Now what our main character was referring to was a game he played. He was never an online gamer. Instead, our main character loved those single player world domination game. Ever since he started working, he had stopped playing. But five years ago he did get hook into a game called ¡®Rule of the Monsters¡¯, a game where instead of controlling human, you would be on the other side, the monsters, and try to create your own kingdom in a world called Nova. He spent countless hours playing and ended up finding himself becoming king of all monsters. Standing at the top, his stats and gears were too overpowered for any of other races to challenge his kingdom. Through time, the monsters under his command also evolved, creating an unstoppable force on the planet. Not willing to exterminate all other races, he limit himself and his army to a single continent, the Chaos Continent. It is located at the corner of the map, and although its size expanded to one-third of the entire world, no one who was not a monster dared to live there. Graduating from college and getting a job, it became too busy for him to play games anymore. Thus, he quitted 5 years ago. Although only five years in his world had passed, it was around five millenniums in Nova. Back to our story, Alena was also one of the evolved monsters. She was originally half angel and demon. But after in-taking of dragon¡¯s blood (her master¡¯s blood), her power increased greatly. Already mastering in dark and light elements, she now gained affinity with fire. Her angelic blood was still dominant, however, and prevented her from having dragon horn, wings, or scales. In the game, she pledged loyalty to Kurai and served him as his personal head maid. She was strict toward everyone except her master. When it came to him, her demonic blood can only feel admiration, love, and even lust. Being half angel and demon, she used to be persecuted by both sides. But he took her under his wings and gave her his protection until she was strong enough that other creatures began to fear her power. ¡°Where am I?¡± Our overlord blurted out. ¡°In your home, master. How was your sleep?¡± ¡°Heh? Uhh...It was good? How and why are you here, Alena?¡± ¡°I had been waiting by your bedside like always during these five thousand years of your slumber, Kodomo-sama. However, all of the other servants had gone into hiding. Although, they should have noticed your awakening by now and hurried back.¡± ¡®Five thousand years!? But I went to bed last night at twelve?? Did I hibernate like a bear or something? Wait, bears only hibernate for a couple of months. Am I still dreaming?¡¯ Pinching himself, our overlord felt pain and confirmed this was reality. Alena, however, was a bit surprised at her lord¡¯s strange behavior. But her master had always been strange, like collecting every single enemy¡¯s body parts and making equipment out of them. His sleeping periods were abnormal. Sometimes he would stay awake several years straight while other times he would sleep for hundreds of years. Now what made monsters different from other races? No monster was born a ¡®monster¡¯. They were all originally creatures with blood of many races in them. However, other normal creatures were afraid of them and called them ¡®abominations¡¯. In times, due to rejection and persecution of their own kinds, most monsters became wanderers. That was until Kurai united them all under him. Monsters had many different bloodlines in them, making them naturally more powerful than other races. Their unique feature, however, was their now unlimited mana pool, allowing them to absorb as much mana as possible and become much stronger. ¡®For now, let gather some information first.¡¯ Thinking that Kurai continued to question Alena. ¡°Alena, what happened when I was asleep?¡± ¡°Kodomo-sama, when you started your slumber, the lesser creatures¡­¡± ¡®Oi oi! Those lesser creatures are still living beings you know!? Why is her tone so cold when referring to other races??¡¯ Kurai shouted in his mind. ¡°Ahem¡­other races started to feel your hold on the Chaos Continent weaken. The monsters wanted to defend our land, but your command stated that no aggression is allowed without your permission. Thus, they went into hiding but not before putting up a barrier around the land of your Black Castle. The other races began to pour into the Chaos Continent and started settlements. Five thousand years had passed and they had developed into major cities on the continent. We, monsters, not wanting to involved in their politic and greed, hid ourselves and waited for your return, Kodomo-sama. For me, my duty was to stay by your side and watch over your body.¡± ¡°And did they notice my awakening just now, Alena?¡± ¡°Yes, master. They should be on their way to the castle. Your other four guardians will arrive in about 2 hours due to their travelling speed. However, other monsters would take up to a day to reach you.¡± There were five guardians who were Kurai¡¯s personal servants and guards. They all had enormous strength that can change the fate of a continent. Alena was one of the five. However, she remained at the castle to keep the barrier up and watch over her lord body. Kurai look outside and noticed it was still dark. However, there were bright flashes from the on-going lightning. He sat there in a daze thinking about his situation. ¡®I still can¡¯t believe this is happening¡­I guess for now I¡¯m stuck here for a while. But if this is indeed Nova from ¡®Rule of the Monsters¡¯, this fantasy setting is not bad. The game was pretty cool back then but it was still just pixels on a TV screen. Now I can experience a sword and magic world. Maybe I will find out what exactly happen to me, but that can wait.¡¯ ¡°Kodomo-sama, I know you just woke up, but we need to get ready to announce your awakening to the whole world and take back our continent.¡± ¡°Ehh? Why do the whole world have to know I am awake??¡± ¡°Of course they do, master, because you have come back to rule over them as their God after all.¡± ¡°God!? Hey! I¡¯m just a normal Japanese man.¡± ¡°What is the race ¡®Japanese¡¯? Is that where you originally from, master?¡± ¡°Nevermine!!¡± Kurai panicked, ¡°Alena, for now, let meet up with the other guardians first before we decide what to do. ¡°Yes, master, I will help getting you ready for audience like always.¡± Although Kurai used to play the game a lot and probably still remembered all the passages in his castle, he was curious at Alena¡¯s ¡®preparation for audience¡¯. ¡®What are there to prepare? Aren¡¯t we just meeting them?¡¯ Nonetheless, he said, ¡°Lead the way, Alena.¡± Chapter 2: Meeting the Guardians Chapter 2: Meeting the Guardians Following the lead of his maid Alena, Kurai inspected his surrounding as he walked through his castle. Everything seemed so real. He could not imagine those game pixels could become something this amazing. Although its name was ¡®Black Castle¡¯, famous for its impenetrable black wall, the corridors inside were brightly lit and decorated with diamond and platinum. The place was even grander than an emperor¡¯s palace! There were four gigantic towers at four corners of the castle. No guard or servant can be seen yet but Alena did say they went into hiding when he fell asleep. They continued to walk until Alena stop at the base of the southern tower. Kurai immediately knew why they went here. ¡°Huh? I am taking a bath?¡± ¡°Yes, master, we need to clean you up before meeting with other monsters and you did sleep for quite a long time so some hot water will help to wash the drowsiness away.¡± ¡°Alright.¡± Finding no fault in her argument, Kurai stepped inside, but he soon turned around. ¡°Umn¡­Alena, are you going in too?¡± ¡°Of course, master, it is my duty to wash your body clean.¡± ¡°What!?¡± He took a look at Alena, but her eyes showed no sign of backing down. ¡°If..if you insist.¡± He gave in. The bathhouse was huge. There was a big pool in the middle heated up by magic rune. A giant gold dragon statue stood in the middle with water spewing out of his mouth. A glass wall was on the side with many types of shampoo and conditioner lining up. After taking off his clothe, he took a look of himself in the mirror. There stood a child about twelve years old with black hair and black eyes. His face could be called cute. He had tone muscle that a child usually does not have. But his height, standing at 140 meters, was that of a middle school student. His hair, although short, was un-kept. On his head were two long curve black horns. Overall, he gave off a vile of a cute kid, not an overlord of all monsters. (Haha, I love my MC) When he create this character, he named it Kurai Kodomo, which mean ¡®dark child¡¯ (I used google translate for this lol). Based on the name, he decided to make his character had an appearance of a child. Since he was immortal, he never grew thus retaining the same appearance all these years. Looking back at Alena, she already got herself out of her maid uniform and was wearing a white towel. Without her clothe on, her body look even more amazing, and Kurai had to try to keep his face from reddening. ¡°Master, please sit down and let me wash you, we must hurry since the others will be arriving soon.¡± ¡°Right¡­¡± He reluctantly sat down on a wooden stool. Alena started to wash her master¡¯s small but firm back. She then put shampoo on her hand and scrubbed his hair. After that she used a sponge to rub his body, but when she got to his lower region. ¡°Wait!! I can wash there by myself!¡± her master shouted trying to protect any last shred of his dignity. ¡°Master is acting strange today. Doesn¡¯t Alena always wash master¡¯s entire body for him?¡± ¡°Huh!?¡± ¡®I don¡¯t remember that part in the game! The screen always went black at these moments!!¡¯ ¡°Stay still, master. I¡¯m almost done.¡± ¡°Nooooooooo!!!¡± Kurai struggled but his effort seemed useless against the experienced maid. ************************************************************************************************************************ After the bath incident, they went to the dressing room to pick out an outfit for Kurai. The dressing room was probably bigger than a king¡¯s throne room. It was filled to the brim with all types of outfits. Some were even made from extremely rare material like thunder dragon hide or angel¡¯s feathers. Kurai collected all kinds of cloth during the time he played the game, but he always hate those bulky dresses that kings and queens usually wore. Instead he picked out a simple black shirt made from some mysterious hide and a black pant made from the famous beast black panther. He chose a black dragon hide cape with hood that cover his entire body and even his face. For boot he also picked one made from dragon hide. When he was done dressing, he looked like a little ninja, except with a cape. ¡°¡­C..Cute...¡± Alena unintentionally blurted out. ¡°Heh?¡± ¡°Nothing, master¡­Now that you are ready. Let head to the throne room.¡± ¡°Alright, let go.¡± They headed down the corridor until they reached the heart of the castle, the throne room. Inside was spacious with a red carpet in the middle leading all the way up to the throne. The throne was made out of some sort of dark crystal that seemed to absorb light around it. It was shaped in the shape of an egg but with a majestic black crystal dragon coil around. Kurai walked up to his throne, the place where he sat for many years in game (or many millennia in the Nova¡¯s time). It was designed to fit his small body perfectly but at the same time give off a dominating aura. Kurai placed his hand on the dragon head, feeling the familiar crystal beneath. He then proceeded to sit down on the throne, but suddenly¡­ ¡°Kodomo-samaaaaaaaaa!¡± After a blur, Kurai found himself in a bear hug; his head was stuffed between two mountains of flesh. The culprit was a gorgeous woman standing at 180 cm tall. She had long blond hair that looked smooth like silk. Her features were that of a mature beauty. If Alena was the cool beauty type, she would be the seductive type. What unique about her was that her hair had white flame burning at the end, and she had two cute fox ears on her head. Tengai looked like one of those old martial artist in a Chinese novel. He wore a long white rope with cloud symbols on it. His eyes were sharp and dark. He also cultivated for himself a long white beard that would not lose to any old man. On his hand was a fan made of some type of white feathers. Overall, his look could either be compared to a kind grandfather or a genius strategist in any Dynasty Warriors games. Although frail looking, Tengai boasted the best defense out of all the guardians. This was due to his natural talent in creating barriers. He was a mix of the legendary beast ¡®Green Turtle¡¯ and demi-god bird ¡®White Tengai¡¯, giving him more available mana and strong power in defense. ¡°I have arrived, Kodomo-sama.¡± Yet another voice rang out. This time, the guardian speaking did not have a human form. He was almost as big as the stone door of the throne room. He had four arms and two faces. Both of the faces were covered with masks. One showed a happy clown face, while the other was a raging demon god. His body was muscular and was donned with black steel armor. His weapons were the four spears on his back. If someone was to take a look, he would notice that all four spears were legendary artifacts that could buy an empire. The guardian name was Kreig. Out of all the guardians, he had the strongest physical ability. However, he was a silent type, responding only to his master. Although, his attitude had gotten better, to a point where he can make small conversation with other guardians. Out of all the guardians, he was the only one with a mysterious origin, even the skill ¡®Observe¡¯ can only show his stats but not his race or bloodlines. Kreig had split personality. Normally he would be shy and quiet, but when he was angry, his other face would spin around, and a massacre would occur. ¡°Hello, Tengai and Kreig, good to have you two back.¡± ¡°This one is ready to serve you again master.¡± Tengai said while bowing his head. ¡°Yes, master.¡± Kreig walked to his place after a short response. Almost all of the guardians had arrived, and everyone was waiting for the last one, the most royal and possibly strongest guardian. He bore the same bloodlines as his master, a combination of demon and dragon, except human. He had been with Kurai the longest, the overlord¡¯s first companion. Although he was kind of slow and weak in physical strength when compared with other guardians, his magic was almost as strong as Kurai, allowing him to nuke anyone from thousands of miles away. ¡°Master, I had waited five thousand years for your return, and finally my dream has come true.¡± A young man stood at the throne room¡¯s doors. He was exceedingly handsome, a head of flaming red hair with two dragon horns curving out. His body height was around 190 cm, and his body was packed with muscles. He wore a black coat that reached the floor. If one was too look at him, he would think this person as the overlord of monsters himself, or a very attractive demon king. His voice, however, did not match his appearance, for it was shaking and brimming with joy. ¡°I¡¯m back, Hellion.¡± ************************************************************************************************************************ I am so lazy to write since this is the first time I am writing any kind of fiction this big.
