《Taotuz's Melody》 The Story Before the Story the Prologue Prologue A creature that is believed to only exist in science fictions strolls through the islands beach. Blue mist swirls at his feet causing the sand around his feet to slightly freeze. Turning towards the lapping waves the moon reflection is shown on the creatures metallic skin. Looking in the distance the air around the creature fills with a dread. Heading away from the waves his thoughts wander towards the training grounds. In seconds of his wander thoughts his feet enter the training grounds. He stops in his track and his visor scopes the whole field. His brain tries to connect what he is seeing. Out of his thousands daemon army only a handful were doing anything and what they were doing is anything but training. "RAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWR." Where this creature stood the whole floor became covered with a thin sheet of ice. Moving so fast he disappears where he was last and grabs the daemon by the back of her throat. "Where is your instructor." The daemon looks into the creatures visor of a face and shivers and then faints in his grip. Throwing the daemon away he grabs the next one. This time it was a larger daemon resembling an older demon. The demon lower his gaze to the blue one wincing at the mere presence. The creature lifts one of his arms with great difficulty and points towards the facilities. Containing the killer''s aura as he left. The larger daemon fell from the release of the pressure. The blue creature strode through the facilities with the confidence of nobility. No movements was not registered and no shadow wasn''t checked. After checking most of the facilities he was at the servant''s quarters. Nearly ripping off the door he proceeds inside. A male''s voice as sweet as the desert''s flowers came from the back. "Come on my lovely he will never figure it out. He is lost looking out towards sea again." Looking around the corner the creature look upon the current daemon instructor with his finger swirling on a servant''s hand. The astrosphere starts to drop to freezing levels. The daemon getting startled looked around and at seeing the creature he starts to run towards the back door. The creature was much faster then the daemon and pulling the daemon''s tail towards him. "Zaxier! It.... It''s.... Not what it looks like I swear." the instructor claims. "Your coming with me incubus," Zaxier starts to pull the instructor towards his castle. ***************************** "Incompetent fool!" Zaxier grabs the larger horn and the throat of the incubus daemon picking him from his sniveling position. In Zaxier''s anger the horn starts to crack and energy is released. "I demand only one thing from you. Train my armies and I catch you flirting with the slaves. Die..." Breaking off the incubus horn completely. Streaks start to appear of lighting and mana all around the throne room. Turning the horn around in Zaxier''s hand he stabs the daemon in his chest. The bloodcurning screams erupt from the creatures mouth. Zaxier tightens his grip on the corpses throat so the thing no longer makes any sound. Throwing away the garbage to the side he turns to his butler. "Turn away all daemons who believes they can train my armies. If something must be done we must do it ourselves." The butler bows and starts to walk away. Right before he exits the room he feels his master''s killer intent aimed at him. "That was the last straw Hellsing. Do. Not. Fail. Me. Again." Zaxier turn away from the shivering butler. Hellsing the butler turns back to his Master and bows. "Of course Daemon Overlord Zaxier as you command." turning back to the throne''s room servant exit. Before he closes the door he hears his master''s last words of the night. "The Daemons. Their leader has chosen to train his armies by himself. The God''s Chosen are few and will take decades to train properly." The face looks around at the programmers. "There are no protocols if this were to happen. What are your orders." "Can we boost the stats of the other races? Could we give them a divine warning?" One of the programmers asks. "That is against Protocol. We can not directly influence anything in the world of BattleCry." The face states. "First off lets pause the fast foward so we have time to think" All the programmers nod at this. "Done... BattleCry has been paused until further instruction." "Good now make a list of possible solutions to the Daemons." "Calculating..... Done." The face disappears and words are typed onto the screen. 1. Become an ambassador and convince the Daemons not to invade. 2. Try to convince the natives of all races that the Daemons will start a war. 3. Open BattleCry to the public and let them fight the Daemons. 4. Start anew. "Damn it Chloe this is all your fault! You just had to have demons and angels in the game." One of the assistant pointing at female in the back. "Shut it Nick you are the one who wanted to implant magic in the evolutionary program. These aren''t even Demons anymore. They are Daemons. Which is worse because their average intelligence is (mid)." Chloe responds back. One of the programmers start to hyperventilate. Getting up he goes towards the door. "Now stop we must come up with a choice from the selection." The older programmer claims. "Deon its not that easy. All of these choices are bad. It will be impossible to convince their king to not invade. The natives don''t even know of the Daemons and they will think we are all madman. BattleCry was meant to be a Sci-Fi game and if we open it now it will be just another fantasy game. Starting anew is a the worst of all the choice we have had this game running for 10 years at 100x faster forward. Even with all the programs made and the newer technology we have to wait another 7-15 years for the planet to become a futuristic world." The mans breaths in and starts to spin his computer chair. "It seems to me that the only option would be to open the game and work on another world and make it into science fiction. This time we don''t add magic, demons and angels, gods, or any thing else of the nature." Deon says. "That takes away half of the programmers abilities they wanted in our game." Chloe throwing her arms up in the air. "We will cross that bridge when we get there." Deon turns around and looks at the featureless face. "I believe we have reached a decision. The gods and goddesses of this realm have asked me to deliver them the souls of heroes to help fight the monsters and demons of this realm." "Well I am glad that you have found me Xeraoth. I be more then glad to help this realm deal with the monsters." I bow and smile at the skull. "I shall be the hero your realm wants" "Sadly mister you are no hero. We are simply out of "hero" souls so i come in the hope to get the gods off my case by throwing them some souls." He turns away. "By chance soul what is your name?" "Many fear me, others respect me, some even embrace death, but none would call me friend." He pushes the boat off the shore. "Death is just another step in our lives that we must take might as well make it a friend so that it goes by smoothly. Neon Bubbles = Neon Troubles Sabrina opened her eyes seeing darkness but with large neon blue bubbles floating slowly upwards into a endless black sky. She found herself sitting on an even larger bubble moving slower then the other bubbles. A flicker of wings came from behind her. Leaning her head backwards to see whom the sound came from. "Well hello there soul! I am Notch the God of Love and Music. " He twirled at his introduction. Then looking a bit closer at his surroundings, "What an interesting yet depressing soul''s home you have here." "Soul''s home? Depressing?" "Oh asking boring questions. Lets start with how you should look like got to have all the boys slobbering around you!" he says with a menacing grin. Then he faces goes blank," What was your name again?" "Melody," Sabrina, I meant Melody said," Are there elves in this realm?'' "Oh a girl after my own heart." He spreads his arms, "You must have noticed that the elves were carved from my godly form." "Of course I mean how could I not." faking flattery. "Well lets beginning what type of elf would you like to become? There is ...." Droning on for several minutes he names many sub species of elf till he pauses," I got it you will be a moon elf." Then the natural bonus for being an elf which is a starting stats in wisdom, intelligence and agility. Also luck will automatically be unlocked from the beginning. You can change only one color of either the eyes or hair. Natural hair dye will last only 2 hours in daylight." She starts stroking her hair and shocked to see her natural brown hair color. She remembers fondly how Anthony enjoys her purple hair color and even helps when she wants to re-dye her hair. "Notch I will pick the Sun elf and change the color to purple. Alright a bit darker. ''Mutt! What the hell is that about?'' A girl''s laughter forms in my head then disappears just as quickly. I feel movement on my chest and Melody looks up at me and smiles a sleepy smile. "I think it is time to go get our classes. If i stay here any longer i might fall asleep." She gets up and starts to stretch. I get behind her and wrap my arms around her and kiss her lips. Time to find the Monastery located at the northern point of the city. I start heading past streets but mostly it is empty with all the villagers inside waiting for customers. The city is so nice with the smell of fresh baked bread still lingering in the air. The buildings were made in a dark wood on top of stone base. The window frames were made of light wood emphazing you to look into them to see the products on display. A few shops even had the fronts made of glass while others were more modest. The buildings closer to the fountain were 2 stories or more but the closer to the monastery the more buildings were simple one story house with there exterior walls in colors of white, green, red, and browns. One building close to the monastery was actually 3 stories tall and had a large white picket fence surrounding the building but in disrepair. Kids were running inside the fence with only a woman trying to keep these kids in some type of order. I walk on over and wave at the lady. Waving back she comes over after placing down the child she had in her arms. "Blessed Day, How may I help you?" A smile that even reaches her eyes appears on her tired face. "Good Day, I am sorry to bother you but what is this place it doesnt appear on my map?" I will my energy to leave my body and help this tired woman. Her face relaxes just a little. Then the older gentleman steps forward. "What instrument can you play. We have Clarinets, Flute, Bagpipe, Trumpets, Tambourine, Guitar, Viola, Violin, and Harp." He counts them on his finger. "Do you have the piano?" Melody asked. All of the instructors looked at her like she was speaking another language. "I am sorry this is a Guild for Bards who are on the battlefield." The younger gentleman already turning away to talk the older woman. The older woman brought her hand up to cut him off before he started talking. "Young lady how do you plan to carry such a huge instrument." "I apologize but it''s the only instrument i have any experience with. Is there anyway i could just sing to give out the buffs." Melody asked with a hint of depression. "While it is possible an instrument gives a much larger bonus and can be layered with the voice to increase its potency," The older woman pointed out. "Where I from there is a smaller piano called a keyboard. If by chance i could make such an item would it work with a piano skill." Melody looks at the instructors. "I won''t waste my time teaching her." Said the younger gentleman. "There will be others who need our instructing and we can not just hope that you will find this keyboard." Her anger starts to crumble at the statement. "Fine just know you only use the knocker after 8pm. The monastery is open to all of faith." She opens the door wider and walk away. Walking away again she stops and looks me from head to toe. "You might want to bring her something to eat from the kitchen and grab something for yourself. You are as skinny as a twig." They can tank multiple spells and deflect hundreds of swords and if you become a monk of a particular Gods you could cast healing spells on your allies." She leans her chair and places her feet on the table with the iron plate on her lap. "I look down and take a sip of the soup. Delicious. Looking back up at her. "Honestly if I was in this world alone I would prefer to be a rogue." She cuts me off. "You mean a thief. I see it in your eyes and ears. You probably grabbed one of my sandwiches without my notice." Monster. Reaching the impact zone she puts up her fists, "Get over here its time to knock your body into shape. One way or another but there is only way i am going to do this." Getting up from the table i finish the bowl of soup. "As long as it is the quickest way to Monk hood then I have no problem with it." I take of my shirt and shoes and place it back into my inventory. She glares at me but doesn''t bring it up. I take my normal stance. Arms hanging loosely at my side with my feet spread slightly apart. Alexandra smiles at my stance. "That stance will get you killed but you wont understand that till I show you." She comes at me much slower then her stats should be. Underestimating me to prove a point oh well. My brain goes into fighting function. She brings her fist to my gut. I take a step back and grab her arm and pull her towards me and slam my elbow into her..... were her face was. Ducking under my attack she jabs me in the ribs. Angry that she dodge me I aim at her back with my elbow. It merely skins it as she pushes me from her. Stumbling back I grin at her. "Did you just increase your speed when you were about to face plant my elbow?" Smiling she comes at me again. This time its even faster I can see she is about to kick me barely. I move with the motion her kick and grab it and I pull her forward and as she balances from my pull. I push her away with all my strength. "Alright this new exercise will get you use to the weight of the keyboard. Even if it is heavier then the real thing you will be in battle with this brick. The longer you fight the heavier it will get and if you ever stop playing a tune you become useless." She starts to spread the weights as evenly as possible. Picking up the wood board as if there wasn''t 50 pounds on it she hands the board to me, "Now you will hold this board for the next 3 hours. If you want to go the extra mile walk while you do this. She wants to end this soon. Pushing my body to my left we are face to face. Raising my right hand I aim it once more at her face. Using the movement of her kick she turns her entire body almost looking like a ballerina. Turning my body to the side I bring my arms in and block her kick which was now heading towards my head. The kick connects but my wont bulge. Getting angry I push her foot away with my arms. Causing her to stumble just a bit. I push myself at her I have I MUST push my advantage even if it is .5 of a second. Now I give her the old 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 punch. She blocks each of them but she is still on tilt. My body is screaming for me to just stop. In one last ditch effort I push my body forward once again and go for a uppercut. *Click* I fall to the ground. Boil them Mash them The Orphanage was no different from earlier that day. Taotuz opened the gate and let Ms. Johnson and the kid go by before I follow suit. The kids are still playing around the yard but the energy is pretty low. It is about bed time for them so I could understand. Tapping Ms. Johnson on the shoulder. "How about i take the kid off your hands so he can show me where the hole is?" Ms. Johnson smiles and nods. Squatting down to the kid at the eye level. "Now tell Mr. Taotuz where you escaped from alright." the kid nods slowly. I take his hand and he leads me off to the side of the house. "Please mister don''t make me show you. I want to go out and see the world." The kid starts using his puppy dog eyes on me. "I am sorry little man but Ms. Johnson might not be able to find you next time. You never know when something bad might happens." he lowers his head and points at a bush that was lining the fence. Looking behind it I see pretty banged up piece of fence. Going back i take the kids hand again and was about to head back to the front when i hear a pot fall inside the house. Looking inside the window I see Ms. Johnson was the one who dropped the pot and looking too tired to even pick up the pot. Squatting down and looking at the boy I point at the bush. "Alright little man make me a promise that you wont go through there and you wont tell anybody else about it alright." He nods his head and starts walking away. I go through the front door and head into the kitchen. Ms. Johnson had already picked up the pot but she was looking at the stove through unfocused eyes. I knock on the counter to gather her attention. She shakes herself to attention. "Is everything alright Ms. Johnson?" "Just working a bit hard that is all." she moves by me and picks up the food from the pantry. "Where are the other nuns?" I ask concerned for the nun. She smiles meekly. "Only person here is myself. The other nuns can''t stand the mischievous nature of children. Most of the nuns aren''t even old enough to be mothers much less look after other people''s children." She looks down at the food she was holding with a deep sadness. Her body starts trembling and drops of water fall from her face and hit the vegetables in her hands. Putting a hand on her shoulder I grab the food into place it onto the counter. "Don''t despair how about I help with making dinner. The kids can''t see you like this alright." grabbing a towel off the counter. I wipe her eyes with it. "Now there lets begin." Looking up she nods. I pick up some of the vegetables and start to separate the vegetables. Then I notice there is a group of potatoes. A stupid thought goes through my head but I have very few filters. "Potatoes Potatoes Boil them Mash them put them in a stew Potatoes Potatoes" Ms. Johnson gives a confused frown at me. Glancing at the vegetables she lets out a sigh. "I don''t know what to make and its to late to make a stew." "It is just a song let me see what I can do. By chance do we have any meat?" She nods and pulls out some meat from a medieval fridge. I open a couple of drawers looking for the utensils and find the knifes. Placing the knife off to the side I wash my hands at the counter. *Ding

''Well that is nice.'' "Alright Ms. Johnson I have an idea. It shouldn''t take too long either to make. First we need to cut the meat and vegetable in to inch wide pieces." Ms. Johnson and I start to cut the meat and the vegetables. She picks up the potatoes. "Not the potatoes I have a different idea for though." After a portion of the food has been cut I get some skewers from another of the drawers. I stab the vegetables and meat on each one. After about 25 are made I throw them on a cookie sheet and into the stove and turn it on. I go back to cutting the vegetables and meats.

''Good.'' After I make about 50 more there is no more food to put on any of the skewers. I start peeling the potatoes with Ms. Johnson. At completion of that i slice long ways and make French fries. After the kebabs are all done cooking I place the fries in the oven.

Ms. Johnson looks outside at the kids she turns towards the exit of the kitchen. Grabs the frame of the door and stops and whispers, "Thank you Taotuz." Walking out she calls the kids to clean up and get read for dinner. A stampede of feet come through the front door and two kids peek in through the door then go to where I believe the bathroom may be. A couple of kids just came into the kitchen without cleaning up and try to grab a kebab. All of their hands met the end of a wooden spoon sharply. "Go get cleaned up then you can grab the kebabs." They stick their tongues out at me and walk away. Ms. Johnson enters the room and watches the kids leave. "How do you get them to go get cleaned up?" She gave me a questioning look. I show off my handy weapon the mighty wooden spoon. She shakes her head and goes and pulls out a couple of stacks of plates and starts to place them next to our pile of food. *Ding

''Faster then expected but nonetheless thankful'' Ms. Johnson finishes up and looks back up at me. "You might want to grab a plate before the children are finished." Taking her advice i grab 2 kebabs and a handful of fries. Placing my plate down i load another plate the same way. Ms. Johnson gives me a skeptical look but says nothing. I go back around the counter and sit the plate in front of her. Smiling she picks up a kebab and takes a bit of the meat. "Taotuz for a new adventurer this is better then i expected." Taking a bite into the meat of the kebab she covers her chin when the juice spills out. She starts to laugh at the mess she is making. "Wasn''t expecting it to be so juicy." "Yeah it came out better then I was expecting" as we were finishing our first kebabs the kids start flooding the kitchen. Before they grab at the food I straighten up, "Now Now only two kebabs for now. You can grab seconds later." After the kids start eating i see the sun has fully set. I grab a few more kebabs and pop a fry into my mouth. I look back at Ms. Johnson as she is making sure the kids are not causing any problems. "Have a goodnight Ms. Johnson it is time for me to leave." Ms. Johnson looks at me and nods her head with a giant smile on her face. "Thank you for helping with dinner. Come back again when ever." Heading out it is time to find Melody. I head off towards to the fountain in high spirits. ******************************* Melody is out of breath after running through the entertainment and the crafting district so that Taotuz would she her coming out of the entertainment district. Trying to catch her breath she looks up and see him leaning on the bench they were sitting on earlier. He gets up from the bench and starts walking towards her with his arms open. Melody breath catches and beat skips just looking at him again. It felt like eternity learning those songs. She covers the distance with a skip in her step. Just holding him and hearing his heart beat melted any stress from her body. ****************************** "How was you day my love?" I look at her just enjoying my embrace. "Pfft. I got my class too and learned all the basics from them. My teacher asked me to go to another guild to learn basic maneuverability." She gives me a smug face. I tap her on the nose. Her face distorts looking like she is between sneezing and trying to get something off her nose. This turns my face into a loving grin. "Look at you being all adorable. So what are we going to do till sunrise." As I say this her stomach growls. She goes into her inventory and grabs a slime jerky. "I have something you can eat besides slime jerky." She looks down at her slime jerky like she is really thinking if it was worth it. Popping the jerky in her mouth she open her hand waiting for the other food i had. Rolling my eyes i hand her the kebabs I grabbed on my way out. I grab her hand and bring her to the bench while she eats the kebabs. *********************************** Melody focuses on the stars in the night sky. The thoughts of today washed over her eyes. Letting out a sigh remember about her choice in instrument. Taotuz brushes the hair out of her face. "What is wrong my love." Taotuz asks with a tilt of his head. She knows they agreed on not telling each other their classes but not even able to play a piano in battle might have been the wrong choice. "I know we already agreed but I choose the bard class." Moving her face away in shame. She could feel his chest rise as he gets aggravated that she told him. "I assume there is a specific reason you told me this right?" He places his chin on her head. Hot air comes from his nose on her hair. "Yeah the instrument was the piano but i cant carry a piano onto the battlefield." He takes his chin off her head and lays it back on the bench. "What about a keyboard?" Shaking her head and waits a little longer for his next responds. "Let me see what I can do on my end who knows maybe something will come to mind." Taotuz puts on a serious face. "I became a.... ballerina." She breaks into laughter. "I can see that with those sexy long legs of yours." Taotuz nods, "yeah i wanted to become a paladin but they kicked me to the dancer guild where a little girl beat ballerina in to me. I even have the bruises to prove it." "Alright joker what did you really get." Melody asks. "I chose a monk. This way even if we go into the wilderness none stop i will have my body to fend off any monsters. I will go back to the Monastery and learn the staff mastery tomorrow." "What will do till the sun comes up?" "Well it has been 2 hours in the real world and we are playing while we should be sleeping. Lets see if the library is open and if not that an inn maybe get some newbs to lose some coin to us." Melody rolls her eyes and heads in the direction with a monkey on her back. **************** We get about to the entrance of the west entrance when Melody finally collapses from me being on her back. "How are you going to improve your stats if you don''t use a little more weight?" She glares at me from her fallen position. I lend her my hand to pick her up. She smacks it away and tries to get up stumbling in the process. I grab her falling figure and start to princess carry her. "Oh look I got a message. It says for holding a great weight I get +3 to strength." That tips her over the edge and she punches my chest a couple of times. No health points were deducted. I look down at her and smile. Kissing the top of her head. "I am kidding you barely weigh a thing. You must be a light elf." "Really of all the puns that is the one you go for." Moving Melody from princess carry to piggy back ride Taotuz sets off towards the Library. After a couple of twists and turns they find the library with a light still shining in the front door. Putting Melody down I check the door knob and found it is unlocked. Opening the door I see an assistant behind the counter. Clearly dosing off at his post he awakens as we get closer. "Good Evening. Welcome to the Ridge City Library we are open 24/6. Closed on Saturdays for the day of rest. Is there any books you are looking for?" He pulls an orb from underneath the desk. "I would like to look at different beginner cookbooks. At least 5 of them." I explain happily. "Any book will increase my intelligence and wisdom right?" Melody asks the assistant. "You should read to learn and enjoy reading but yes any book will." Assistant looks deadpan at her. "Alright then I want to read Emperor Saga and Ages Online." Melody responds. The assistant starts chanting causing the blue orb to shine. Seconds later 7 books float over and land on the counter. Handing the cook books to me and the others to Melody. "The private reading rooms are to the right behind the shelves." The assistant picks up his book and continues to read it. "Thank you sir," I walk towards the private reading rooms. Entering the room I see two light brown couches and a table in between them. I sit on one of the couches and open the menu options and click the Notes option. Swinging it to the side of my vision I open a cookbook and begin copying and pasting the information into my notebook of foods that sound good and give the bonuses. Melody lays her head on my lap and opens her book. With one book in my hand and the other i brush her hair with my hand. She just nudges her head closer to me. I hear a couple of giggles from her reading. "Why are their so many recipes for slimes in this book?" Author''s Note: I am going to be updating the Prologue and some chapters. The last peaceful day Authors Note: Sorry to all readers that this took so long but real life saw me doing something productive and kicked me ass hard core but like the great phoenix I rise from the ashes of incomplete stories. Also the end of the training arc which thank Xeraoth which was the hardest for me to write since it wasn''t part of the story in my head. At around 4am I finish the last cook book. All these books have only raised my cooking level up by fifty percent but I have kept a few recipes in my notes. Melody was only halfway way through her first book but she was dozing off a bit. Better now or never to log out. "Darling its about time for us to log off. If we wait the full 8 hours then we will be in the middle of our training." Melody rolls off my lap and stretches like a cat showing off her tight stomach. I join her in the stretch sitting on a couch for this long really makes me feel so naughty... I mean knotty. "Sounds good. Its time to start breakfast anyway." Melody opens up the menu and waves me off as she logs off. Her avatar starts to shimmer and fades away into nothingness. Laughing I give her an eskimo kiss and then start to walk towards the fountain. "So which guild are you heading to now that you know how to play the piano" "The dancing guild to learn how to maneuver. Maybe then I wont take a hit while standing still." "As long as they don''t teach you how to twerk on monsters." We both laugh at that picture. Reaching the fountain I give her a hug and pick up my love. "Its time to go get more bruises for the both of us it seems." "Huff huff. You better make each bruise worth it because if you don''t I will bypass you by light years." Smiling she runs off towards the entertainment district. Watching her figure till she enters the distract hyping myself for the new bit of training. I head off towards the Monastery. Before I even past the first buildings of the housing district there is a commotion. "We don''t want or need your kind here, beast!" a young man nearing the age of around 17 shouts at two different beastman. "If you weren''t a npc I tear you throat out and feed it to the rats. The only creature that be willing to eat the trash coming out of your throat." Lifting his claw above his head but before it finishes the bear-beastman grabs his partners claw and stops him. "Stop this before it escalates out of control." It seems the bear-man is a bear-woman from the voice. The hyena-man chomps in front of the young man making the boy fall on his ass. The hyena starts to laugh uncontrollably while walking away. The boy gets up and stomps off but before he goes to far the man I helped from before comes up to the boy and smacks him upside the head. "Boy you need to get your head on straight. The world is moving forward and you need to get your head out of that ass of yours." "They are dirty Beastman who don''t have an ounce of intelligence beyond feeding and sleeping." the boy throws up his arms in expression. Walking up from behind of the boy the older gentleman sees me and his face turns to shame. "I''m sorry you had to see that my son here doesn''t know any better." "It is fine. Hopefully this boy will understand the error of his way even if it is not today." Looking at the boy. "Also you should remember that the Beastman live in the wild without these giant walls to protect them and survived against all the monsters of this world. That speaks volumes about the intelligence and strength of them does it not?" The boy stomps away after the scolding his father delivered. The father shrugs at me and goes after his son. I start back towards the Monastery with a full mind. ************************** Entering the backyard of the Monastery I spot Alexandra mediating. Taking a seat in front of her I join her in the mediation. After a couple of minutes I hear her breath increase to normal speeds then catching her breath. "I wasn''t expecting you so early." She gives me a curt nod. Getting up from her sitting positions and heads towards the shed. Coming out with a staff she throws towards me. Catching it in mid air I give it a couple of twirls. It was balanced enough not to be a hindrance. "How much do you know about the use or techniques of staffs?" "Not much and what I think I know is probably irreverent." Alexandra nods at my statement. Pulling out her staff she gets into a starting stance. "Staffs are not made for damage but to control the flow of battle. Now watch what I do." With one hand on near the butt of the staff and another hand on the middle she gives a quick horizontal strike. Following the strike she does a quick 360 strike horizontal strike turning once more and bending her knees and lowering the staff to her knee level. Using the momentum she was on the arc of her back with her feet in the air and sweeping the staff once more at her invisible enemies feet. Using the butt of the staff she swung up in to a upper cut and finished with the front end following the upwards motion. Looking at me she takes her hand off the end of the staff and places it in the dirt next to her. "These are the beginning techniques of the staff. You will go through them for the rest of your days with me till you leave. Now lets begin." ******************************** "So much pain," Rubbing my shoulders as I head to the orphanage once more. Waving at Ms. Johnson who was watching the kids play from the porch. Getting up from the porch she meets me at the gate. "What''s for dinner tonight Ms. Johnson." "The kids are asking for kebabs again." She smiles widely. Opening the gate to let me in. I pull my sleeves up. "How about something else. What do we have tonight for ingredients." As I enter the yard some of the kids come near and wave and one grabs my hand. "Are you making kebabs again Mister." I pat the kid on the head and walk away with hint of a smile. Ms. Johnson and I enter the kitchen. She goes towards the cabinet and I pull up my notes from the earlier books. "What do you think you could make with this?" Ms. Johnson places some items I recognize. Kidney beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. The meat was a little different then what I have seen. "Ms. Johnson what type of meat is that?" "If you have the cooking skill you can identify it. If you cant it is Ground Venison." Taking her advice I try to identify the Venison. ''Identify''

"I am about to show you." looking for all the pots, pans, and skillets I need I come back and start to tell Ms. Johnson the secrets of Chili. **************************** After about an hour of cooking the chili the kids once more are all cleaned up and ready for the meal. Each with a bowl in their hands I have them line up and start to serve each kid in turn. Fifteen minutes later everybody is happily eating the very hot chili. Ms. Johnson already finished her bowl comes back over to me. "This isn''t changing the weather outside." her face was a bit disappointed. I laugh at the misunderstanding. "The food is called chili and some people believe if you digest hot food it will raise your body temperature and you wont feel the heat around you." She nods at the new info and watches the kids eating quietly with full mouths. "At least the kids seem to like your food." "Don''t worry I will come here everyday till my two weeks are through. As I do just write all my recipes. Anyway I have to go now got a lady waiting on me." I try to sneak out once more but before I get to the frame I hear behind me all the kids shout. "Thank you Mr. Taotuz!" Not to be to embarrassed at this I turn around and give a deep bow to the kids. "It was my humble pleasure to serve you Ladies and Gentleman but sadly I must leave to the company of another. So pleasant dreams." Walking out quickly I think I hear a couple of kids laugh at my exit speech. Now time to get the Fountain. *********************** Melody opens the door to the dancing guild and began to look around. The walls were all mirrors with a bar slightly apart from it. Different corners were hosting a spectrum of dances. Melody began walking towards the center were one buff man looked upon each group in turn. "Excuse me, Sir. Can you tell me where the dancing sign up is?" The man starts to eye Melody till he puts on a big grin and sticks his hand out. "I am the Master of Dance Victor. I shall place you into which group I believe you are fit for." Melody grabs his hand and shake it firmly. "Now tell me girl why are you here?" "I am a bard who was told to come here to learn to dance to improve my fighting technique." Victor looks closer at Melody''s face and then snaps his fingers. "Your Melody the Piano Bard or am I wrong" Melody nods her head. Victor face turns into a wicked grin. "I was told by Allegro you would be coming today. She told me to give you this while you dance." Going to the backroom he brings out the board with the weights on it and drops it onto Melody''s arms. Melody gives a sigh and smiles meekly, "Guess I wont be able to run from this thing." "That''s the spirit now lets put you into the beginner class. Off you go and happy dancing." The master gave a healthy laugh as he pushes Melody into the beginner corner. *********************** Our days went on like this without much difference in schedule. On our last day we just sat at the water fountain once more before the sun rose and where we bid our teachers good bye. Melody looks me in the eye and I feel a slight change in the atmosphere. "I am going to miss all my instructors and the clerk." She faces the sunrise as she finishes those words. I feel a shadow creep in the back of mind. "You act like we are going to be leaving this place behind today." Looking back she gives me a sad smile. "I may have only known you for a little amount of time but I can tell once we leave this town we probably wont come back for a great deal of time." She starts to touch her musical notes ring. The rising of the sun has awaken a great deal of the Npcs and they start to fill the streets. "That is true but we will come back. I can feel it" I brush the strays hair out of her face as we watch Ridge City wake up. We both get up and I hold her tight and give her a deep kiss. She blushes from the strong sign of affection. "What was with that." She slide her hand and arm across my cheek. I look down upon her beautiful body. "I feel something bad is going to happen today so I might not get another kiss tonight so it would be better to get the best kind right now." "Your such a mood killer." She looks away from me and the lets out a sigh. "I feel it too. We need to finish our business and get out of here." Letting go of each other we head off to our Instructors. With a glance back they motive each other with the face of the other. ********************** Getting to the Monastery front door I see Alexandra waiting for me. Walking up to her she raises her hand to stop me. "Today you leave this city to write your adventure into the Soul of Slaihan. I as your teacher have seen you grow so much and because of that I offer you my staff that my teacher offered me when I graduated from him." She walks to me and she twirls the staff and with a sad grin offers me but when she looks me in the eye her face changes to one of pride. I take hold of the staff and look her straight into her face. I shake my head and push it back to her. "I thank you from the bottom of my heart but I feel like you will need it more then me. You will have a great deal more apprentices who will want to learn everything you know. All I wanted was the basic and that you did teach me. I am humbled by your teachings." I take a step and bow towards her. Coming back up her eyes show great anger. "If you wont take my staff then I will give you this." Faster then I could register her hands were vice griping my head and her thumbs were pressing on my temples. I grew dizzy then it became clear after a second.

Word Count 3956. The goblins began to surround the walls of Ridge City using the forest as camouflage. All of the near goblin villages were gathered here today for the first strike against the so called higher races. Once all the villages were in place the Goblin chiefs brought out their horns and blew. The sound causes the guards to look towards the forest as the goblins spilt out. The madness in the eyes of the goblins stuns the guards. Before even one guard can respond the goblins are already half way to the walls. Finally a guard clears his mind enough to sound the bell. The ring of the bell awakens the other guards and the rest of the bells ring. The goblin forces are coming from all directions! The guards let off a couple of shots with their bows. It was a futile effort to say the least. The guards on the ground are able to close and lock the gate to the approaching enemy forces. The goblins come prepared and throw ladders at the walls and start to scale. The guards switch from their bows to the sword and shield. With only 20 guards on each wall the goblins are able to scale the wall and fight the guards on the stone wall. The goblins chiefs start grumbling and stomping the ground forming what to be called a primal dance. After their dance is complete the goblins start to gain a small red aura. The guards raise their shields to the goblins as the goblins raise their cleavers above their heads and slashing at anything that was an enemy. The goblin shaman starts chanting in chorus. The shamans are starting to sport cuts all along their bodies and blood begins to flow above their heads forming a magic circle with runes inside. After a couple of minutes their chant ends and the magic blood circle shines and a blue aurora beam flies to the closed gate. The gate shatters at the pressure and flies off the hinges. The chiefs of the villages gather their strongest and lead them into the city. The chiefs all start to babble of the goblin language as soon as they past the blasted gates. When they all seem to be in agreement they lift their axes in unison and roar into the air. This causes all the goblins to stop and fall to the ground. Seconds pass without them getting up. The Guards start to stab at the fallen bodies to make sure they are dead. Finally, all the goblins get up and start to move around in a frenzy. The Guards were all shocked at seeing the eyes of the goblins that shown a bright blue. In minutes the guard are forced into a circular formation as to not be caught in the frenzy of the goblins. "We are going to die today," One guard voices the thought of every guard''s. *********************************** Alexandra grabs her staff tightly and looks towards the city wall behind the monastery where the guards were just starting to clash against the few goblins that got to the top first. Alexandra looks left and right and then directly at me with a hint of horror in her eyes. "We need to protect the monastery. The people who cannot fight will come here to receive our protection." I look towards the East district where my love is. "Please I need you here." Looking towards the East for a second longer I tear my gaze from it and looks towards the center of town where the kids are already running towards us from the Orphanage with Ms. Johnson closely behind carrying the youngest of the groups. The families hastily head towards them carrying babies and some valuables. " Fine I will protect the people, for now." "I need to head to the backyard for the goblins from the wall. "That... Is... Useful." Stunned at how strong this spell could be at later levels. ''I am going to have to grind this skill, it will most likely be the bread and butter of my skills.'' Snapping from his thoughts at the scream of a young boy. Focusing towards the entrance of the plaza he saw a young boy running with a broom in his hands. Three goblins came around the corner with their blue eyes looking for any signs of life. The boy saw this and begun to trip over the bristles of the broom. He quickly got up and left the broom on the cobbled streets. He has begun crying as he ran past me and the goblins pick up their pace at his cries. Getting into a fighting stance as the goblins stumbling over each other trying to get in the first shot on me. Finally, one place his foot on the other goblin''s face and pushes off launching himself at me with his rusty cleaver above his head. This was his demise. Thinking the skill Chi Fist I use every muscle to throw a punch with my Chi Enchanted Fist. My fist lands right between his eyes. I feel every bone my fist touch break. Until all I feel are his shattered bones. Seconds later his body vanishes with coins falling to the floor. Before I can identify the coins the other goblins are upon me. One tries to swipe at me with his claws. Taking a step back and bring my hand to grab a hold of his swiping claw. Pulling him in and using my other elbow as I smash his face. It wasn''t enough to kill, but he seems dazed. I swing him around causing his body to lift from the ground. I slam his body into his partner. This causes them to tangle into each other as they try to push away from each other. Pulling the goblin''s brunette hair I slam another chi enchanted fist into his unprotected face. This causes him to become dazed again. The goblin underneath pushes his dazed companion off of him and jumps up. He swipes at me like a maniac. I can''t follow his crazed movements. Finally, I have had enough of his crazed movements and I let off one more punch before his partner clears his head. I was able to land the punch, but at the cost of his claws landing two swipes against my abdomen. The pain causes me to flinch. We both back up from each other. His partner gets up from the daze with blood trickling from his nose. I won''t be able to take them two versus one like this. I take one more step back and my heel bumps into something. Taking a peek down I see the broom. With a smile forming on my face I jump back and scoop it off the floor. Twirling it so the bristles are facing down. I land a curb stomp and successfully break it half way through... -.- The goblins waste no time and attack me before I make a clean break. One of the goblins is faster and jumps at me. Hoping this works I twist the bristles into his face. *Crack! * The bristles are now broken and I have a useable staff??? The broom handle starts to give a slight silver glow an a blue box appears.

"Yes!" the boxes disappears with a goblin''s claw behind it and lands a claw across my face. ''Damn it, I am already down to half health'' I hit the goblin in the stomach causing it to take a step back. I move the broken part of the staff to the above position and hold it in front of me. A goblin charges me and when he becomes close enough once more he jumps again to strike at my face. I smile at the stupid goblins basic tactics and aim at the approaching goblin''s eye. With a satisfying jerk the staff went into the eye of the goblin. I push him to the floor. With all my strength and weight I push further until he disappears into motes of light and copper coins. This causes me to fall forward without the goblin''s body supporting me anymore. The goblin taking advantage of this slip and jumps on my back and wraps its tiny legs around my side and tries to claw my back. Before that happens, I push off the ground and slam him into the pavement. His grip loosens and I roll off and pick myself up. The goblin is still holding his bleeding head. I curb stomp him multiple times before he disappears into motes of light. This time he drops 5 copper coins and his bull ring. I pick up the coins and place them in my inventory and examine the bull ring

I push the yes button and take a look around. Seeing the copper coins scattered around me, I begin to grab them all and place them into my inventory. I sit into a meditated formation and open my menu and click the options button. Looking through it, I find an option that lets items that drop automatically be placed into the inventory. The only downside is that it won''t place it in the most space efficient way. With that all done, I get back up and pick up the fallen broom handle. I begin to twirl it around to get used to the weight. Taking a couple of steps around the plaza to check if any part of my body was too bad to wear. Suddenly a scream from a young man comes from the entrance to the plaza. "Somebody help! I am being chased by beastman and goblins!" ************************************* The bells could even be heard from inside the dance hall. The students start to talk in fright and others begin to gather their items from their lockers. Melody looks from left to right for the teachers. Victor races to the center of the room where he claps his hand in quick succession. Once he gets the attention of all the students. "Now lend me your attention for this brief second. I understand you have families at home and you want to get to them, but we are not only dancers we are warriors. Our bodies are weapons that can captivate our foes and make them do foolish deadly mistakes. Those guards need our help. No matter if you''re a beginner or a master dancer we need everybody that is willing to volunteer .So please wear your best outfit and lets us defend our homes from the invaders." Melody was looking upon a truly horrific scene. Goblins are all along the top of the walls attacking guards and overwhelming them. The goblins in their berserk state, even fell from the wall. Most of them landing head first thus turning into motes of light, but the unlucky ones would end up with shatter limbs if the sounds that were carrying were of any indication. "Alright everybody lets go, lets go." All of the students came out to the front of the dance guild. Facing the students that are forming groups he rises his hands and spreads them afar. "Hurry, hurry we need haste in your steps. Alright on the count of three." As the students finally formed their groups, the gate explodes and pieces are flung towards the groups. Some of the students scream at the power behind that shot. Victor faces once more at his students and looks each of them dead in the eye. "Do not waver! The spell they used can only be used once. Do not worry I will show you the secret behind the dancer class." With his hands once more in the air, two knives appear and drop into his open hands. He turns back to the shattered gate and watches as the goblins spill from it like a flood. "One." He begins to bob his head while he hums a song. Melody takes her position in the center of all the groups so that her song had the full AoE effect. The goblins sees the mass of people and aim their killing intent at them. "Two." He starts to spin while bobbing his head. Melody gathers all her courage and prepares her voice. The goblins are tripping over themselves to get first blood. "Three!" Everybody starts to dance causing buffs and debuffs in mass. The beginners dance causes the goblins who watch to be effected by charm debuff. Victor jumps into the goblins and begins slashing the goblins close to him. Melody began her song.

The soothing sound of the Earths embrace was the exact opposite feeling of the bloodshed that Victor and the other dance instructors were causing. Victor was now throwing knives at goblins that were breaking from the charm debuff. With each knife that he threw another would appear come out of no where and be caught by his hand. The Bards guild came from around the corner with Instruments and used them as weapons against the goblin forces. While not as pretty as the spinning Victor, they were just as prepared to kill the foreign invaders. Melody raises her voice even louder in the hopes that her buff could reach the bards and any other fighter in the city. ******************** "Somebody help! I am being chased by beastman and goblins!" With that the young man came bursting into the plaza. Behind him were the same beastman that he had argued with earlier. The hyena and bear were running on four legs behind the young man''s heels. What they brought along were at least ten goblins. Ripe for the killing. "Run past me. I will take care of your goblin problem." At the sound of my voice the young man gave one last burst and flew by me. The hyena and bear saw that the man was safe and began to slow down. Once they were by my side the got back up on two legs and turn towards the approaching goblins. "Are you a player or a resident. If you are a resident follow the boy inside. My husband and I will take care of these goblins." The bear spoke without letting the goblins leave her sight. "Player. Class is monk. Party up?" The goblins are too close for proper introductions. "Shaman and I accept." The bear then roar towards the goblins stopping their advance. "Warrior and I also accept" The hyena roar was less intimidating as it was a laugh. Half of the goblins got mad at being laughed at and went towards the hyena. "Nice Unattended Taunt." "At least you are a warrior." I sarcastically claim. As such I put myself with the shaman. with 5 goblins heading towards the shaman and myself. I didn''t think we have any problems. The bear starts chanting behind me as the enemy engage me. As I struck my makeshift staff upon the closes goblins head, ghostly thorns start to wrap around my body. "Do not worry about the thorns they are mine." Once more the she beast begins her chanting. Thorns usually means reflecting damage to melees. Lets try out a couple of things. With my thoughts wandering for the slightly of seconds a cleaver''s tip was able to give me a shallow cut on my leg. The thorns lite up and shot a thorn at the goblin who attacked me. ''Confirmed its a reflection spell. Now lets see how well it works.'' From that thought I begun to experiment with the spell. My movements became fluid with my objective in mind and I went by one blade with ease and even got a quick strike to his knee. A thorn shoot off at the goblin I hit. ''Oh I was not expecting that. So not only if I get hit but if I do the hitting it fires off. Now back to what I wanted to check.'' I dodge a few more cleavers and finally come upon the only goblin without a cleaver and let his claw come at me. I then block his swipe with my staff. As soon as they collided a thorn shot at the goblin. With a big smile hit the unarmed goblin''s shoulder with the butt of my staff and twirl around him causing all the goblins to now be at my front. The once more raise their cleavers above their heads and before the could take a step forward a deafening roar came from behind them. The bear woman finally finished her chanting and begun her attack. Swiping her claws at the goblins and they threw from her impact. *Whistle* "You must work out!" The goblins looked at the bear that was mauling their front line. I used the opportunity and start smacking the weaponless goblin all over his body. The thorns were having a field day shooting up this goblin. After the fifth strike the goblin disappeared once more into a mote of light. The goblin closes to its death cries turn and starts swing his cleaver unintelligently. I do not parry or block the cleaver as my staff already had a low durability to begin with. The staff luckily has a longer reach, so while i land a strike upon different parts of his body he isn''t able to strike me. Its slower then the full brute force but it got the job done. Two down I look at what was left our group. Seeing only two more goblins fighting the woman I turn towards the hyena and see he is still fighting two goblins too but his body is sporting a good amount of cuts. "I need to go help your husband." The bear kept attacking. Hoping she heard me I ran to the hyena and struck the goblin behind his knee causing him to fall to the ground. The next strike was to his head. It must have been a critical. The goblin poofed out of existence and I once more face the remaining opponents. I stab the next goblin in the ear with the jagged edge of the staff. The goblin turn around and only succeeds in making the wound worse. The pain causes him to the ground as he is holding his bleeding ear. With a curb stomp I end its pain. At the same time the hyena pushes the other goblin to the ground and bites his head off. The hyena look at me with his tongue out like a dog in the car and jumps over me and finishes the last goblin with his wife. *Ding

The hyena and bear nod as the see their loot. Seconds the hyena had the rusty cleaver in his hand and he cut back and forth. The bear equipped the Bull ring and nodded. With their new items they came to stand by me. "I guess it is time for introductions. I am Taotuz, Monk. Elf and Tiger beastman mix. Staff Melee User." "I am Gaia, Shaman. Brown Bear Beastman. Spellcaster Wand User and this This dufious of a husband is Mufasa, Warrior. Hyena Beastman. Undecided Weapon Melee User." Looking at the pair I could tell they have been together for a long time. "Thanks for the help Taotuz. I don''t think we would have made it out without your assistance." Mufasa gave me a crooked smile. "Worry not about it but if you don''t mind I will need help guarding the monastery from this invasion." "If my wife will have it. Then I have no problem with it." Mufasa looks at Gaia. Gaia nods and sits down. "I need to eat and mediate. Sucks that we only have these slime jerky." "How about something a bit more tasteful?" At that I pull out some left over food that I made at the Orphanage. Both the beastman devour my left overs as we sit and wait for the next group of goblins to find there way into our plaza.
