《God's Domain》 Gods Domain Chapter 1 Hey guys! Fairsky here, I kinda gave up my previous story, as it was more of a warm-up. and totally not because I lost interest... Anyways, I might redo that story sometime, but in the meantime, Here''s some weird stuff to read. also, I''m trying to shoot for about 1000 words a chapter, but that might change depending on what you guys want. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` God''s Domain When I was sixteen, my father committed suicide. My mother died giving birth to me years before. I was empty. I had no friends, no family, no reason to live. So I decided that I would go like my father had. On my own terms. I remember writing a note and putting it in my jacket, stepping out into traffic, and... that¡¯s it. That¡¯s all I remember. Then the room appeared. I don¡¯t even know if I can even call it a room. There seemed to be a floor. At least, I think that there is. I could feel something under my bare feet. It kind of felt like glass. But there was nothing there. As far as I can see there is only white space. I looked down at myself. 5¡¯5, dirty blonde hair, and pale skin, I was wearing a green t-shirt and faded blue jeans. ding! Congratulations coma patient! You have been chosen to be a participant in the new VRMMO Fields of Eternia! To create a realistic experience for players, important figures such as Rare quest givers, Demon Kings, Liches, Emperors, Kings, and Gods are given control by those which were deemed useless to society in its entirety, ie, coma patients. (This is a completely legal action as deemed by the recycling of difficult individuals act) ¡®VRMMO? as in virtual reality? I remember talk about the beginnings of such work, but I didn¡¯t know that it was past the concept stages, much less turned into an actual game. But this act... How long was I in a coma for?¡¯ ding! Fields of Eternia has a medieval setting, coupled with magic and monsters for the full adventuring experience! ding! Libra, the Goddess of Life and Balance, has been assigned to you! Libra is a major goddess. There are four ranks of gods: Demigods, Minor Gods, Major Gods, and Entities. Suddenly, a scroll popped up, and began unfurling, so I began to read it. Among the Gods, Demigods have the least amount of power, but the most amount of freedom. They usually stay in the Mortal Realm and can only enter the Heavenly Realm or the Demonic Realm under certain conditions. Demigods have their abilities reduced in the Demonic Realm. Minor Gods spend the majority of their time in the Heavenly realm, but may move to the Mortal realm at will. Their powers are greatly reduced in the Mortal Realm and they cannot directly interact with it. Minor gods also cannot enter the Demonic Realm. Major gods spend nearly all of their time in the Heavenly realm, and they can only enter the Mortal Realm when summoned.They cannot enter the Demonic Realm. Major gods have the ability to turn trusted followers into Demigods, please note that creating Demigods is extremely taxing on your power, and they do not have to follow your orders. Entities are the physical manifestation of the universe''s laws ex: Death, Order, and Chaos. Entities have their personality directly influenced by their element, and currently all entities are NPC¡¯s. Entities also cannot leave the Heavenly Realm. Demigods: 0 (0 are Players) Minor gods: 400 (400 are Players) Major gods: 12 (12 are Players) Entities: 3 (0 are Players) All gods have the ability to rank up into the next tier of god, given that they have enough power, and mortals can become Demigods given enough strength, (level 100), and sponsorship by a Major God. Demons are the enemies of all gods. Unlike gods of chaos who like to stir things up for the good of the mortals, Demons only wish for destruction and death. Not death so that life can continue, but death as in the end of all things. God, Mortal, and even other Demons. Although you share a common enemy, not all Gods are on the same side, so be careful. Demons have their own ranking system. Minor Demons can enter and leave the Demonic Realm or the Mortal Realm at will. Mortals can become Demons through despicable acts, and the sponsorship of a Major Demon or Demon King. Minor Demons cannot enter the Heavenly Realm. Major Demons spend most of their time in the Demonic Realm, but may be summoned into the Mortal Realm by Mortals and Minor Demons working together. Cannot enter the Heavenly Realm. Demon Kings spend most of their time in the Demonic Realm and can enter the Mortal Realm when summoned by a large amount of Major Demons. Cannot enter the Heavenly Realm. Demon Emperors spend most of their time in the Demonic Realm and can enter the Mortal Realm when summoned by a large amount of Demon Kings. There can only be one Demon Emperor, and they cannot enter the Heavenly Realm. Demons can rank up by defeating the next tier of demon in one on one combat. All Demons can invade the Heavenly Realm when they have completely conquered the Mortal Realm, destroyed all godly temples, and killed all of the Demigods in the Mortal Realm. As Libra, the goddess of Life and Balance, it is your job to keep balance in the world, and peace between the entities of Order and Chaos. If there is too much Chaos in the world, the Demons will feed off of the energy of war and become strong enough to take over the Mortal and Heavenly Realm. If there is too much Order in the world, The Mortals will become weak, and the Demons will easily take over the Mortal Realm. Minor Demons are too innumerable to count. Major Demons: 400 (400 are Players) Demons Kings: 12 (12 are Players) Demon Emperor: 1 ( 0 are Players) I sighed. Wow, this sucks. Basically, the Demons have an end-goal, while us gods merely have to survive. Not only that, but gods apparently don¡¯t all have very good relation with each other. We can¡¯t enter the Demon Realm no matter what, and I really doubt that Demigods in their weakened state could defeat a Demon Emperor, which, if I¡¯m correct in assuming, is just as powerful as an Entity. So basically, only Mortals can Destroy the Demon Emperor. A bunch of nerdy mother fuckers. We¡¯re screwed, aren¡¯t we... Gods Domain Chapter 2 Chapter 2 ding! Your responsibilities as Libra, the Goddess of Life and Balance are more numerous than other gods. This is because of both your duel aspects, the fact that you are a Major God, and because you often have to settle fights between two of the most powerful forces in the universe. ding! Quest gained! Balancing Act Quest restrictions: -Be a God of Balance Quest conditions: -Use your power as the Goddess of Balance to keep the forces of Order and Chaos from destroying all life in existence. If one side becomes too powerful, then take action to support the other side. You must be neutral in all things, or you will doom the universe. Failure conditions -Have either Order or Chaos destroyed Quest Rewards This is a continuous Quest and as such, there are no completion conditions. However, the more balanced Order and Chaos are, the more power you will gain each second. Additionally, every action you take to Balance the scales will give you power. Responsibilities, responsibilities, responsibilities... If this is a game, why can¡¯t I just be an adventurer! Have some fun! The Gods are basically doomed to fail eventually. I guess that¡¯s why there¡¯s an entity of Death and not Life. Unlike Life, Death is a certainty. All things die in time. ding! Quest gained! People Person Quest restrictions -Be a God of Life Quest conditions: The more mortals that are alive, the better. Help Life find a way! Failure conditions -All Mortals are dead Quest Rewards This is a continuous Quest, and as such, there are no completion conditions. However, you will gain more power every second the more Mortals that are alive. I sighed. At least I get something out of this mess ding! You will now be transported to the citadel of the Gods! The world suddenly shifted from the endless white void, to a bustling city. According to the scroll, there should be 411 other gods not counting the entities... I wonder what all of their aspects are. Noticing that everybody was staring at me, I looked down. What. The. Fuck. My green shirt and blue jeans had been replaced by a white toga which left my right shoulder uncovered. In my left hand I held a golden scale, In my right hand, I held a golden sword. I quickly run through the crowd before I find a nice and secluded corner with no bustling. ¡°er-inventory!¡± I called out. Instantly, a 3d model of myself pops up, along with my equipped items. I looked older, maybe about 18 or 19 now. My previous long blonde hair was cut short, and I noticed something else as well. I was wearing a blindfold. Waving my hand in front of my face, I realized I could see just fine. I mentally ¡®clicked¡¯ on the blindfold in my inventory. ding! Durability: infinite Damage: 1000 true damage, (True damage ignores armor and resistances) Divine Damage: 0.1 Damage multiplied by the balance of the world. ex: If the world is in perfect balance, multiply damage by 10 If the world is completely ruled by one side, multiply damage by 0.1 100% balance= 10 multiplier 75% balance= 7.5 multiplier 50% balance= 5 multiplier 25% balance= 2.5 multiplier 10% balance= 1 multiplier 0% balance= 0.1 multiplier Godly Toga A generic toga worn by the gods. Besides its infinite durability, it¡¯s pretty much useless Durability: infinite Armor value: 0 Balancing weights x1 Tiny weights that one can put on Libra¡¯s scales. Useless on their own. Directly influences the world¡¯s order, depending on which side of the scale you put it on. The Balancing weights are extremely rare, and are consumed upon use, so you should only use them in dire circumstances. If one is able to use a Balancing weight on Libra¡¯s scales, they can easily save or destroy the world. Libra''s Scales A golden scale that one can use Balancing weights on to change the balance of the world. Love this story? What the hell! I focused and mentally clicked on a couple of aspects I was curious about. ding! Divine Health is the amount of health you have. Upon depletion of all of your health, you will lose one point of Divine Power. It is extremely hard to deplete even a single point of Divine Health. Demigods do not use divine health, and they cannot drop below 1 Divine Power. You gain more Divine Health and Divine Health Regen per God Rank. Divine Power is how strong of a god you are. You can gain Divine Power from performing quests or performing actions that are related to your aspects. Major Gods can also gain Divine Power from followers. To become a stronger tier of God, you require Divine Power. Mortal: 0 Divine Power Demigod: 1 Divine Power Minor God: 10 Divine Power Major God: 100 Divine Power Entity: 1000 Divine Power Please Note that if you drop even 1 point below the threshold, your god rank will be lowered. hmmm... I better be careful to not piss anybody off before I gain enough power... I wonder what the balance of the world currently is, it¡¯s extremely important to me, so I should probably keep an eye on it. errr... How do I look at it? ¡°Skills¡± I call out ding! Because of your unique qualities of a god, you cannot learn skills that have nothing to do with your aspects. As a non-combat god, you cannot gain combat skills. As a non-crafting god, you cannot gain production skills. Skill: Communicate Can speak with Mortals either telepathically, in a vision, dream, or even just sending an image of yourself. Cost: 1 Divine Power Duration: 1 hour (You do not have to use all of your duration at once, and may be saved for later. Teleport Can teleport anywhere that you can see, or places you have been before in the Heavenly Realm. Cost: 500 Mana Bestow Divine Power Give a Mortal 1 Divine Power, turning them into a Demigod Requires target to be at least level 100 Costs: 10 Divine Power Create First Temple Turn one of your Temples into your first Temple, increasing your influence. The destruction of your first temple will cause the loss of Divine Health, and consume 1 Divine Power. Because you have started the game as a Major God, you will start with your First Temple for no cost. Cost: 5 Divine Power Assign High Priest Give a Mortal semi-divinity granting them incredible power for as long as they serve you. You may only have one high priest at a time. Note: High priests are NOT demigods. Because you have started the game as a Major God, you will start with a loyal NPC High Priest for no cost. Cost: 1 Divine Power Judge Balance Determine the Balance of the universe activate to toggle Cost:100/second 100 per second is 6000 per minute. If you guys think that I should make shorter or longer chapters, tell me. Gods Domain Chapter 3 Chapter 3 ding! Order:25% Chaos:75% Holy crap, that¡¯s awful. I¡¯m surprised I haven¡¯t been fired yet I continued reading The appearance of a large amount of gods and their inevitable fight for dominance has caused a major unbalance in the Universe. Do something to fix it quickly, or the Demons will invade the world! crapcrapcrap Suddenly, my muscles tensed, and a window popped up. ding! Currently, an event is going on. For this one-time occurrence, for the lore of the world, we will temporarily be taking over the character of Libra, the Goddess of Life and Balance. Suddenly, I, and all of the gods that I could see were teleported into a huge amphitheater, one of those fancy ones set up in a semicircle with five floors all facing me, who was standing on the stage. Seconds later, all of the Gods were teleported into the seats. At the fifth, and top floor, there were twelve silver thrones, with three large golden thrones behind them, and slightly elevated. All were occupied except for one of the silver thrones, which I assumed was mine. The 400 minor gods all had a strange variety of shapes, colors, and species. Not all of them were even bipedal. The silver thrones were too far away to see any details about the Major Gods, but for some reason, the three on the huge golden thrones, the Entities, were twenty feet tall. the one in the middle was dressed in a dark robe, covering all of his features. In one hand he was carrying a large pure black scythe that seemed to suck light into it. Above his head was the word Death. His name, apparently. To Death¡¯s right was a handsome human looking man with shoulder length blonde hair, beaming gold and blue armor, and a large two handed sword strapped to his back. He seemed to look exhausted, and was slouching. His name appeared to be Order To Death¡¯s left was a man similar looking to Order, except he had short, black hair that barely passed his ears, pale skin, crimson red armor, and a spear which he held in his right hand. He was looking strangely happy and energetic, and kept shifting in his seat. His name seemed to be Chaos. ding! Attention all Gods! Libra, the Goddess of Life and Balance, has decided that the incredible imbalance in the world that was caused by the introduction of the influx of new gods will soon give the Demons the ability to destroy the world. To counteract this, she will use one of her rare Balancing weights to help preserve balance in the world. Just as the window said, I returned my sword to my inventory with a magical glow, and replaced it with the balancing weight. I then put the weight onto the right side of the scale. Instantly the weight evaporated, and the window in the corner of my vision which was left open since I used the judge balance skill, changed. Order:23% Chaos:77% The recent use of a Balancing weight has temporarily cause chaos to have a slight advantage. Over time, however, the weight will cause Order to increase in power. The control over me suddenly ceased as my muscles relax, and I looked around to see 400 Minor Gods, and 11 Major gods looking at me with curiosity, while one Entity looked at me with hate, and another looked at me with thanks. I sighed, and decided to leave before I embarrass myself in front of 400 gods. Damn, I hate socialising. I decided to go to my seat, so I activated my teleport skill, targeting my silver throne, which I promptly sat back down in. ding! Attention all gods! Because of the actions of Libra, the Goddess of Life and Balance, The introduction of the beings called Adventurers have arrived in Eternia. The Adventurers are a strange mix of Divine and Mortal, yet at the same time, are not Demigods. Adventurers are immortal, and will revive upon death, albeit slightly weaker. Adventurers will start extremely weak, yet they have the potential to one day destroy the Demons. They will grow and advance at astounding speeds, able to one day hopefully bring peace to Eternia. Immortal? Yikes! Now I have two of the strongest beings in existence wanting to rip my throat out! Death stood up from his golden throne, which I could barely see due to my seat being directly in front of his, which is strange because all of the other silver seats are set in a semi-circle on either side of the Entities. Death suddenly teleported to the stage and announced in a deep and gravelly voice ¡°Due to the circumstances created by Libra, The council of fifteen shall meet immediately to discuss the repercussions of what has happened. I encourage you new gods to mingle and socialize while the discussion is taking place. Food and Drinks will be available through the doors on the first floor, as well as ample room to talk. Huh, a courteous Death. Who would¡¯ve thought. ding! You have been targeted in the spell: group teleport by Death to an unknown location in the heavenly realm. Would you like to accept? As much as I thought that accepting Death sounded like a bad idea, I decided that it would probably be really rude to decline, and I¡¯ve fucked up enough for one day. I was suddenly teleported into a room with the thrones set up similar to the fourth floor of the amphitheatre. The three golden thrones grouped up together on one side of a circle of thrones. It looked similar to this, except rounded out into a circle instead of a diamond. D is for Death, O is for Order, C is for Chaos, S is for other major gods, and M is for me. D O C S S S S S S S S M The three entities were all directly facing me, which I didn¡¯t know if Death did on purpose or not. ¡°What the hell did you think you were doing!¡± Chaos shouted Gods Domain Chapter 4 Chapter 4 ¡°What the hell did you think you were doing!¡± Chaos shouted ¡°The right thing, that¡¯s what.¡± Order Countered ¡°Of course you¡¯re taking her side, but there is a rule against Gods acting in others domains! She should be stripped of her powers for committing such a thing! I elect the act to take away all of Libra¡¯s powers!¡± Chaos shouted Death held up a hand. ¡°Yes, Libra did step into your territory, but she did so because of her aspect, which is Balance. I elect the act to allow Libra to step into Order and Chaos¡¯s territories, as long as she is following her aspect of balance. After all, do you not affect Order¡¯s Power every time you take an action? Is this not different? It is her aspect, and therefore her duty and right to interfere in the actions of Order and Chaos. Order, do you have anything to say?¡± Order shook his head. "Does anybody else want to counter any statements, bring any new evidence to the table, or enact any acts? No? Libra may not vote in the following acts as the pertain to her directly. All in favor of stripping Libra of her powers?¡± Only Chaos raised his hand. ¡®Phew¡¯ All in favor of giving Libra the ability to do as she pleases in the the battle of Order and Chaos, as long as she strives to seek balance? Death, and all of the Major Gods raised their hands. Strangely, Order did not vote in my favor. ¡°The vote is currently 14 for, 6 against, and 1 Locked.¡± He announced Ok, so I guess that I¡¯m the 1 locked, but why are the numbers so high? The other Major Gods also must have wondered the same question, because an old man with a long beard and thick spectacles raised his hand. He was wearing a large brown robe, but unlike Death¡¯s, you could see his face, which appeared to be some kind of bird with an extremely long orange beak. Above his head were the floating words Thoth, God of Knowledge and Wisdom ¡°May I inquire as to why the votes are so high?¡± he asked slowly. Death looked up at Thoth. ¡°It was decided that in the council of fifteen, formerly the council of three, that because we are stronger, we Entities will be given three votes each. This is enough so that the Major gods working together could outvote us if need be, yet still gives us enough votes to create a sense of superiority and seniority.¡± Thoth nods. ¡°Hold on a second, who said anything about you being superior?¡± One of the other gods shouts out. He is in a set of extremely heavy steel armor with a shield and a sword strapped to his back. His Helmet blocks out all of his features, except for his red eyes which can be seen glowing through the eye slits. Looking at his name, it was unsurprisingly Ares, the God of War and Conflict. He sat near Chaos, so I guess that the seat positioning kind of tells as to which side, Order of Chaos, that god is more like. ¡°We are more powerful than you, that is a fact.¡± replies Order coldly, his eyes seeming to have a little bit more life in them than before. Ares looked ready to argue that before Thoth cut in one more time ¡°May I Inquire as to the rules of the gods?¡± he asked politely. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.¡°We have few rules, but they are all extremely important." Death replies "First off, we have no fighting with other gods. Direct battles can result in being stripped of your powers, but usually just sealing for some amount of years, depending on the offense, Secondly, you cannot directly target the priests or temples of other gods. This usually results in a sealing for a few years. Thirdly, you cannot tread on other god¡¯s aspects. There are few cases of this, and they usually end up with just a sealing. A sealing is kind of like a temporary prison, by the way. Ah, and I should really explain things to you. There used to be thousands of gods, and dozens of entities, except because of multiple conflicts, there ended up being a war between gods. Until finally, only Order and Chaos were left. I survived because I was one of the few gods who remained neutral, and was also extremely good at hiding. When they were weakened by battling, Order and Chaos could barely stand. I then arrived and forced them to sign magical contracts so that they will never directly fight with each other again. A couple years after the war, the bodies of the old gods... decomposed, in a sense. They mixed and mashed, and soon you were born. The essence of all of the Demigods and Minor Gods were completely destroyed, but the essence of the Major Gods turned into the now Minor Gods, whereas the essence of the entities became you guys, the Major Gods. As new gods, that¡¯s all you really need to know. Build up your religions, or stay by yourself. I don¡¯t really care. As long as you follow the rules, I won¡¯t interfere with anything you¡¯re doing. Whether it¡¯s slaughtering Mortals, or destroying empires.¡± ¡°What do you mean when you say essence¡± Thoth asked ¡°Well... just look at Libra.¡± Everyone turned to look at me. ¡°She has become a kind of mix between Themis with the scale and the blindfold, and Nemesis, with her abilities, but not quite. She became a kind of... unique god. It¡¯s really quite interesting.¡± ¡°Are we done yet?¡± Chaos asks ¡°Ah, yes. Council convened. I shall go back to my Domain. You may all visit your own Domain by teleporting there. You just have to focus on teleporting to yourself.¡± Death waved goodbye, and disappeared along with Order and Chaos. ¡°I am Thoth, God of Knowledge and Wisdom.¡± Thoth announced, ¡°Would everybody like to introduce themselves?¡± He asked. Thoth is sitting to my left a couple of chairs down. His words instantly brought about chatter, as the gods all tried to talk at once ¡°Er, one a a time, please.¡± We ended up with something like this Order¡¯s side from closest to farthest Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Apollo, God of Archery and Music Thoth, God of Knowledge and Wisdom Demeter, Goddess of Harvest Chaos¡¯s side from closest to farthest Kali, Goddess of Destruction Ares, God of War Cupid, God of Love Mielikki, Goddess of Nature and Hunting And then there was me, The same distance from both Order and Chaos. Guess I really can¡¯t pick a side, can I... Gods Domain Chapter 5 Chapter 5 The other Gods and I socialized a bit, and I found out that they were also all coma patients, and had no idea what the act that the window mentioned was. ding! Warning! Please note that you may not discuss the real world in Fields of Eternia so as not to disrupt the integrity of the world''s lore. If you have to, say things extremely vague. Continuing this behavior may result in the reduction Divine Power. If you are purposefully trying to undermine the lore of the game, we will turn you into a blacksmith NPC, or even a cockroach. Don¡¯t test us. I looked up, and the grim look on all of the other Major God¡¯s faces showed they all got the same message. Thoth decided to start steering the conversation in another direction, which was mainly about what kinds of skills or abilities we had. Everyone had the same communicate, teleport, bestow, temple, and high priest skills, but we all had one unique skill outside of the combat or production ones. Thoth decided to call these unique skills ¡®godly skills¡¯. Athena had both combat skills for spears, shields, and heavy armor, and a kind of mind reading ability, although she swears it¡¯s more of determining actions instead of thoughts. For example, she could determine if you were about to back stab her, but not what you were going to have for dinner tonight. Apollo had a combat skills for bows, and also had some bard skills. His unique ability was to sing a song so powerful, that it could put his enemies to sleep, or even mind control them depending on their willpower and his charisma. As he tells us this, I was painfully reminded of my abysmally low willpower. Was it because I committed suicide? Thoth had some kind of ability to tell truth from lie, and find out knowledge from books and stuff, While Demeter had gardening and potion making production skills, and the unique ability to grow plants faster. Kali had light armor, and the quad blades skill, which had to do with the fact that she had four arms, all wielding daggers. She also had the ability to make somebody with less willpower than her go onto a rampage, destroying everything in sight. Damn, there goes that willpower again. Ares had all of the close combat skills, and I mean all of them. He also had a skill that created a large aura around him that buffed allies, and applied fear to enemies based on, you guessed it, willpower. Crap, I really need a way to raise that. Cupid had some archery abilities, a charm level in the hundred thousands, and the ability to make people fall in love with each other based on, yet again, their willpower. Mielikki was an archer with some bow skills, and the unique ability to control beasts in the Mortal Realm. And that just left me, with some stupid ability to basically, more or less, read a newspaper. I really felt left out. I decided not to tell anybody about my huge weakness in willpower, and instead will try to find out later through books or something to raise my willpower. I don¡¯t really get what the rules are for using abilities like charm on other gods are. Does it count as attacking? Or is cupid in his rights as a love god to make me look like a freaking idiot. Ergh! I hate this so much! Will Cupid actually influence my mind, or just make my body go on autopilot like with the event. Either way, I¡¯ll kill that fucker if he tries anything. I suddenly realized that all of us have been following Thoth''s direction for quite a while now. I wonder if that¡¯s because he seems confident, or maybe because he''s really smart and knowledgeable in a world full of unknowns. Thinking about it, I decided that there wasn¡¯t much else to do, so I too teleported to my domain. Focusing on myself, I activated teleport. Suddenly, I was in a large Greek temple. ¡®Cool¡¯ I thought to myself. There was a huge golden ten foot tall scale on one side of the room, and a giant mirror that spanned throughout the entire floor and all of the walls. ding! Welcome to your Domain. Your Domain is a place of rest, relaxation, and healing. You may spend some money to customize it to your wishes. The mirror set around the room may be willed to show anywhere in your sphere of influence. Gods Domain Chapter 6 Chapter 6 I tried to bring up god statistics, but it just repeated what I saw earlier about my sphere of influence. When I brought up follower skills, I came up with a large list, which I separated between priest skills, and follower skills. The priest skills included classics such as heal, revive, turn undead, and the different tiers of such spells. Interestingly, the spells seem to rise and grow in power parallel with the universal balance. The priest skills could also only be performed by those that have a priest=like class (priest, shaman, paladin, etc.) and become my follower. The Follower skills followed a kind of skill tree that used intimacy with me to buy the next skill level. They were also far more interesting than the priest skills, and I also had the ability to tinker with my follower skills. When I was done, they ended up like this. Balanced Strike Coat your weapon with Chaos and Order magic, having it deal +100% Order damage and +100% Chaos damage on top of your normal damage. Cost: Half your current mana (minimum 100 mana) Fool Balance Reverse your Fame and Infamy for 10 minutes, lasts longer the closer the balance is. If using this ability makes your Fame higher than your infamy, it hides the murderer''s mark for the duration 24 hour cooldown costs: 50% max health, 50% max mana, 50% max stamina. PKers and assassins will love this. Balance Keepers (passive) intimacy with orderly and chaotic factions rise and fall at half the rate. intimacy with orderly and chaotic factions rise and fall as one. Performing orderly actions do not decrease intimacy with chaotic factions, and performing chaotic actions do not decrease intimacy with orderly factions. As far as I could tell, orderly factions included things like town guards, armies, or adventurers guilds. Chaotic factions included assassins, murderers, or warmongers. Being friendly with a lot of people is incredibly useful. Balanced Mage (passive) Increases ability to dual cast Order and Chaos magic rise at half the rate Order and Chaos magic rise as one You may learn from magical schools that conflict with each other (Order and Chaos, Fire and Ice, Earth and Wind) You may combine spells from conflicting magical schools) The closer the universal balance is, the stronger you will get. Multiplies mental stats by balance percent 100%= 2 times multiplier 75%=1.5 times multiplier 50%=1 times multiplier 25%=.5 times multiplier 0%=.1 It seems that if you have multiple elements that conflict with each other, they rise at a slower pace. So normally, Mages could only bring Chaos magic up to a couple levels before it made their Order magic experience bar slow to a snail''s pace. Powerful mages and wizards of all kind will adore the idea of getting to learn more. Balanced Warrior (passive) increases balance The closer the universal balance is, the stronger you will get. multiplies physical stats by balance percent 100%= 2 times multiplier 75%=1.5 times multiplier 50%=1 times multiplier 25%=.5 times multiplier 0%=.1 Balanced Warrior and Mage are my pride and joy. they give my followers a huge advantage over other religions, and it also gives adventurers the incentive to choose me. On top of all that, it also gets my followers to do my job for me to help them preserve their power. Sense Balance Able to sense generally what the balance of the universe is to the closest 25% increment. costs:100 mana Meh, basically just a shittier version of my ability. It won''t tell you why the world''s fucked up, but it''ll kinda tell you that it is. This should help my followers decided what they should be doing to help me. It has the capability to slay fucking gods if you hit them enough. I was unable to delete the ability, so I just ramped up the penalties and requirements... which made the ability even stronger. Besides Thoth sending me large amounts of information about the world through a kind of messaging system, I haven¡¯t had any contact with the other gods. I was... Bored. I did nothing all day except watch my hundreds of new followers. I¡¯m a god, I should be able to do anything I want! What¡¯s with this stupid restriction that I can¡¯t go to the Mortal Realm! Thoth recently told me that there were huge restrictions, magical items, and a large divinity cost to be summoned to the Mortal Realm for even a few minutes. I¡¯ll never be able to go at this rate! It seems that there are a few ways of gaining intimacy with gods, which includes performing quests for me, giving me an experience tax, donating money, or even just impressing me. I have been occasionally dishing out quests to some of my more promising followers. Interestingly enough, I seem to be able to give them gold and experience from my own coffers, which were donated by other followers at an earlier date. I¡¯m also able to ¡®buy¡¯ magical items and send them as quest rewards to my followers. Every day I¡¯m given a set amount of a kind of item currency which I can then use to create magical items for quest rewards. Currently, because of my follower base, they¡¯re all rather shitty, +2 intelligence rings and the such. I gave an epic staff to one of my followers once, but he ended up just selling for half of its value because he apparently didn¡¯t want a staff that gave fire affinity. It seems that I¡¯m able to communicate with my high priest clearly without using my communication ability, and I can also kind of communicate with my regular priests, although the messages are rather garbled and vague. I¡¯ve also been practicing my magic lately, and I¡¯ve even been able to create golems that I¡¯m able to send to the Mortal Realm, although they¡¯re extremely weak. Up here in the Heavenly Realm they¡¯re so tall I accidentally broke the roof. When I send them down, however, they¡¯re usually no bigger than a beagle. Golden retriever tops. What if I can... If I can create a golem, and if I¡¯m able to control the golems... can I create a little me? That I¡¯m able to adventure and fight with? I immediately set to work on creating the golem. Able to manipulate as you see fit, and even borrow the senses of. Is incredibly weak but can learn abilities like adventurers. Costs:10 Divine Power to initially summon If it has died, you may pay 1 Divine Power to resummon it, at a slightly weaker state. In the week since I have become a god, I have only gained one Divine Power, which brings up the total to 121. After using this ability i¡¯ll be down to 111, making my initial advantage over the other gods moot. All in the name of adventure, I say! I instantly summon the puppet in front of me. It surprisingly looked just like me except without all of the godly gear. My dirty blonde hair is long again, and tied up into a braid. I also decided to give myself a sword similarly shaped to my godly sword so that I can get used to sword combat in case I ever have fight for real. Adventurer-me is dressed up in some light iron armor with leather straps, the whole outfit making me look rather badass. I focus my mind like I do with my golems to control them ding! Libra and Lee have gained the skill Split Focus Split Focus You can split your mind into two parts to focus on different activities at the same time. Half your mental stats while using Split Focus. A homunculus is an artificial race created with parts from multiple dead bodies, and brought to life with necromancy, and as such, have no mental stats unless when directly controlled by a greater being. They are illegal to create in all kingdoms. Homunculi lack the ability to naturally heal, and have large amounts of physical stats. A pure homunculus is a never before seen variant that is an artificial body created purely from Nature, Earth, Order, Chaos, Life, and Death magic. It has been previously impossible to create due to the nature of having multiple opposing elements in it. Only followers of Libra who have the Balanced Mage skill, or Libra herself can make this currently. It is unknown how legal pure homunculi are in the world because of their recent creation, although it is probably not a good idea to let people know just in case. Pure homunculi lack the ability to naturally heal, and have large amounts of physical stats. They also copy the mental stats of its creator, yet have the ability to become stronger and smarter than them. ding! Libra has gained the title Creator of Life Creator of Life For being the first being to create life out of nothing but mana, you have gained this title. Increases strength of beings you have created. After thinking about it for a minute, I decide that Thoth has been helpful enough so far, and has been a pretty much cool dude overall. What is he, the NSA?¡¯ I said my goodbyes to the bird man, who had already buried his head into a book, which was quite funny to watch because he turned the pages using his beak. I teleported back to my Domain, and sat down into an extremely comfortable chair I created using customization options and some of my money. I focused on Lee until my mind merged back with my puppet. It seems that in this mortal body, I have gained levels for all of my abilities, instead of just having everything at max level. A quick message to Thoth reveals that Mortal¡¯s skills all go from level 1 to 100, which is the max. The higher the level of the skill, the harder it is to grow. Apparently for players, level 3¡¯s were easily gained in the first day. Now however, about a week after the players have arrived, nobody¡¯s skills have gotten passed level 5. The average character level for those who have been here since the beginning is 30, while the highest is 50. How Thoth has found this all out is beyond me, but I still thanked him for the info. ¡°Inventory¡± Lee calls out ding! Balanced Iron Armor Although not very strong, this armor will rise in strength with its wearer. Armor Value: 160 (equal to 2x base vitality) Balanced Blade Although not very strong, this sword will rise in strength with its wielder. Damage: 120 (equal to 2x base strength) Fucking. Sweet. Without waiting any longer, I used teleport on Lee to send my puppet to a rather secluded forest, with about level 30 monsters. I wanted to get used to fighting before I actually try anything dangerous. I¡¯d hate to waste Divine Power having to bring Lee back after I stupidly try to take on a dragon or something. Lifting up my sword, I tested a few swings with it. Instantly, I thought that something was wrong. I corrected my stance, and let loose a couple more swings. It seems that my sword mastery helps me with wielding the sword, that¡¯s pretty interesting. After a couple minutes of walking, I came upon a test subject. Grizzly Bear ???/??? Level 32 Beast Aggressive The bear stood on it¡¯s hind legs and roared, trying to make itself big. Thanks for showing me your soft belly, idiot. On second thought, do bears have soft bellies? I¡¯m not really sure... I raise my empty left hand, and point my palm towards the bear¡¯s stomach. ¡°Chaos Bolt!¡± I shout Instantly, a sphere of black and red energy appeared in my hand. I ordered the orb to shoot towards the bear, and it did as it was told. As it travelled, it left behind a trail of energy, making it look more like a comet than a sphere. The Chaos Bolt exploded upon impact with with the bear¡¯s stomach. Instantly, it was shot backwards, where its head impacted a large boulder, knocking it out.
