《The man who wasnt human to begin with....》 Prolog part 1 "For all intents and purposes, it could be said that I had a good life" He thought to himself as he stood before the massive reptilian beast which would surely bring about his downfall. He had lived a "normal" life up until the point where he had been summoned to this strange world. Such as the story goes, he had been the nerd, never really bullied but never really accepted. Things came to him easily, math and science were second nature, and in his eyes everything else stemmed from those. Take sports for instance, he was good at those, but only because he understood the math behind it. He almost never missed a shot, never got caught with the ball, and yet he never truly felt that he was "good" at those sports, as it all stemmed from his true passion of math and science. In his eyes they were pointless as they did nothing for the world except draw spectators from other jobs. Athletes and Jocks were the pinnacle of school, and yet they did nothing for anybody. Engineers and Scientists were the ones who made to world what it was, and yet those who specialized in that never received recognition or gratitude. His mind always had this angle on life, and so despite having the skill in other things he never flaunted it or perceived it as something "good" to have. He knew that this was not common, but he really didn''t care at all, so he just kept living his life letting people think he was inept at sports. Another thing that he knew was not common for normal people was that he cared less about beauty then most. Ya he still preferred someone to be pretty instead of ugly, but to him that was secondary. He couldn''t explain it, he just simply didn''t think it was that important. He never really focused on character or chastity either. No, what drew him to a woman was intellect. He was fascinated by intelligent women, and found them far better then sluts, or "idols" who couldn''t even hold their own in a conversation when he initiated one. He simply scoffed at the tunnel vision that people would get when they meet a hot girl. What idiot would let lust determine their actions instead of logic? And what force would make a normally logical person act irrational. It was just retarded in his eyes. Of course this applied to his friends as well. His friends were all nerds in the truest sense of the word. Where most people would talk about stupid topics such as pop culture and school matters, they talked about math and science. The newest theories about life, the newest inventions and what doors they would open. The "what ifs" and "how does this work" were very common among their conversations. This was how he wanted it, he chose his friends specifically for that purpose and he would be disappointed in himself at his choice if they were to act "normal" and irrational. He was content with his normal life, but he always felt that something was missing. He could be considered a sociopath, but that was because he perceived himself as better then the world. In his eyes, the gap was so big that sometimes he doubted that they were the same species. His smart friends were the smartest people in the school, but still they were not as smart as he was, they still had to study, to think on problems instead of just arriving at the answer. They still had things that they desired but were unable to achieve. He was slightly contemptuous with the world and its people. This was coupled with the feeling that he did not belong and nobody was truly up to his standards. Even among his friends he was the most detached from the world. This lead to isolation. That was, until he was brought into this new world of magic and swords. He assumed that here, in this place, he would be able to get along with people and "fit in", as he would potentially lose his top spot and break the isolation of being the undisputed best. They were summoned into a picturesque medieval throne room. Around them was a circle of guards presumably mages and nobility. "Welcome heroes!!" Someone off to the side said. Everyone in the class was looking around in shock and awe. He alone was calm, this was certainly irrational and he was simply having a dream, no point in overreacting like the idiots around him. He simply decided to play along and wait out this dream. He was certain that he had fallen asleep in class at some point. Eventually, at the end of class, his teacher would wake him up to notify him that he needed to proceed on to his next period. His teacher wouldn''t wake him up, as the teacher knew that the one sleeping knew more then he did about the particular topic, no matter what it was. The teacher in his dream, as it would have happened in reality, was the second person to regain their calm. The fake teacher looked around at the students and told them to circle around, as he tried to ascertain the situation. Most of the students obeyed like mindless sheep, but a few were simply standing around in a daze. ??? : "I am sure that you must be surprised at this sudden event in your life, but please, do not be alarmed! We have summoned you into our world! You have the opportunity to become the strongest people on our planet! To slay great beasts! To destroy entire armies with your might! Of course, all of this will happen in due time, for now please calm down and listen to our tale of sorrow and grief." The speaker, presumably a herald for the nobility, spoke loudly as he addressed the class. Everyone with the exception of the boy convinced he was in a dream, turned towards the speaker to listen. Herald : "Please, I implore you to head my words. Our great country of Gracemaria (Ace Combat :D) is under attack! The dread demons have enlisted the help of the great reptile clans in destroying our country! We could not hold out alone, so we summoned you... You! All of you, are gods among us. Great beings who will bring about our salvation. Of course, we do not ask this out of greed, only necessity, and as such you shall be amply rewarded for your services. To those who wish for payment you simply need to ask, and all of Gracemaria''s great riches and prosperity shall be given to you upon the completion of your task. For the women;" He paused, and waved his hand in an exaggerated fashion. As he did so several beautiful serving girls clad in light, thin clothes exposing well endowed bodies walked into the room sensually and seductively, carrying bundles of fancy clothing. Herald : "For the women; clothing made of the finest silks and jewelry made of the finest gems and metals. These are gifts from the best tailors and suppliers among all of the human race, a gift for your help in defending our species. For the men; Titles, women, riches and more! These clothes jewels and girls are a start, they are now yours to keep. We do hope that you will consider our country as you enjoy your taste of what is to come should you accept." He said, flashing a bright smile. Truly it was a wonderous offer, one which most people wouldn''t refuse, and yet one student was completely oblivious to the happenings around him, as he studied the architecture of the building, the bricks upon which it was made and the design of the hall itself. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ??? : *This is well built, not exactly as I would build it, but well done in any case...Well perhaps it is the way I would build it, as it is my dream. Perhaps I have a subconscious yearning for medieval times?* He thought to himself. The herald was oblivious to him, as his classmates were enthralled by the gifts. The women were crowding around the dresses and the jewelry, many of them were eager to leave and dress up like princesses with golden tiaras and silk dresses. The men were talking with the female serving girls. They had gleamed so far that the girls would do anything asked of them by the heroes. The men were ecstatic about this, but there was a problem, in the class there were fifteen boys but only seven girls were present. This meant that six groups of two boys must share girls, and there would be a group that required three boys to share a girl. This caused a debate about the groups, which they were still arguing about when the herald quieted them down. To the class this man was the mouthpiece of great things to come, so they shushed each other, and when it was quiet he continued. Herald : "Great heroes, there will be a time later on where you may dress up and play with your new "toys". But for now, let us ascertain your status and abilities. Please, come forward and place your hand on this sphere. It will hurt a small amount as the sphere sifts through your mind searching your memories and your body to determine your class and stats. Please bear with us for this short duration. Once it is done searching it will output a small metallic plate which details everything about you. Now then, who wishes to go first?" He was met with a plethora of hands, and he chose the person in front of him. Herald : "You there, what is your name?" ??? : "I am Vincent Protem" The man said in response. Herald : "GREAT Lord Protem!!!" He bowed and then knelt. He extended his right arm, motioning to the sphere held out by a different serving girl. " If you would please put your hand on the sphere, this process may begin." Vincent eagerly put his hand upon the sphere and it started emitting light. His face cringed in pain as his entire being was forcefully inspected. A few seconds later the light faded, leaving Vincent looking slightly fatigued. A card slid out of the side of the sphere. The herald took hold of the card and declared loudly. Herald : "Great Lord Protem is a warrior class, he has skills pertaining to the use of the sword. His starting stats are all above twenty at LEVEL ONE!!! Surely his potential is remarkable!! Even more so are his strength and vitality stats which are both above thirty!! Let us hope that this is a precedent for those to come..." Vincent let out a smile as he was handed the card, he was ushered away from the herald and was lead over to greet the nobles that were spectating the event. ----------------------------------------------------------- By the time the last one in line arrived at the sphere the hall had largely emptied, it had only been a half hour or so to get through the forty names prior to this one, but the herald made a big deal out of all of them until number thirty, upon which someone asked for some food. The king imminently declared a feast and all those who were done, as well as all of the nobles standing around agreed. They all left the hall to go to a different hall where food was being prepared. The last ten finished with only the servant girl holding the sphere and the other people in line present. The last person in line was the teacher, he had waited it out to make sure that nothing went wrong with the other students. He had wanted to go first to ascertain if this was dangerous or if the mysterious people in front of them had been telling the truth. Having the first spot taken away from him he deemed to go last, to make sure that no problems arose. After his was completed, he glanced around only to notice the class nerd lying on the ground, presumably sleeping as always. He had completely forgotten about him much to the teachers regret. The child was named Cornelius Williams. He always was rather strange, even now in this strange situation he was simply lying on the floor staring at the ceiling as if nothing had changed in his world. The teacher went over to him and convinced him to put his hand on the sphere. Right before the child did he heard him quietly mutter. Cornelius : "So this dream is finally over?" Cornelius put his hand on the sphere only to have a dull pain run through his body, as if frantically searching for something. His mind raced. At this point it was confirmed in his mind that this was no dream. Thoughts and problems with the scenario appeared rapidly in his mind, only to be put out with rational and logic. Cornelius : *How is this possible? I feel pain but this should be a dream. No, the existence of pain ratifies the argument that this is not a dream but instead my altered reality. Fuck, I should have paid more attention earlier when they were speaking. Well no use in complaining now, instead lets just go with the flow and see where that takes us...* He grabbed the little card that slid out of the sphere when the pain went away. He read it in his mind

He quickly hid his card, knowing full well that his status was abnormal due to his race not being human, and his name not being correct. He contemplated bringing this up to other people, but quickly thought against it due to the unknown implications that it would have. He simply shoved the card into his pocket and let his teacher lead him to where the feast was being held... Prolog Part 2 Sorry about the wall of text last time, for some reason it doesn''t like copy pasting... The girl was once more alone in the room, the last of the ''Heroes'' had just left to go join the feast. Her arms ached from the laborious task of holding the orb out for half an hour, even after she infused mana into her arms. She let out a sigh of relief that she had not been one of those unfortunate people chosen to belong to those children. She did not want to waste her life obeying the commands of horny lust driven teenagers such as those. The only one who really drew her eye was the last one with his indifference. She merely passed it on as shock though and started walking back to where the orb belonged on the far side of the castle. She glanced down at the mysterious thing once more pondering how it worked. She never really cared enough to look it up, but still decided to try and piece together how it worked anyway. As her thoughts went off on this tangent something caught her eye. A small metallic object was still in the side of the sphere... ??? : *Did he forget his card?* She reached out and looked at it. Normally looking at someone else s status card without permission was a grave crime that could result in death, however in the case of lost cards it was necessary to ascertain who the original owner was so that the card could be returned to them. What she saw shocked her. This wasn''t a primary card, but a legendary secondary card. A secondary card was only distributed to those who fulfill special requirements, and this one was special even amongst those secondary cards...
Whosoever''s card this is shall be henceforth declared the Primus of Earth

She gasped and dropped the card in her shock. ??? : *A PRIMUS... HERE???? Did we accidentally summon their planets primus? What have we done? Has the king doomed us all???* She frantically picked up the card again, put the sphere on a nearby shelf and ran as fast as she could in her dress to a lone tower on the edge of the castle... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- He could hear shouts as he followed his teacher into the hall where the feast was. He really didn''t care much for the excitement but even he had to eat so he sat down on a bench in the corner, trying his best to be alone. The room was crowded however and being alone was practically impossible, leading to him having four other people within arms reach of him. He simply ignored them as he ate the hot glazed chicken in front of him. It was very good by his standards, but he quickly came to the conclusion that this was a king''s castle, with royal chefs, and it had the best ingredients and spices available. Especially when in an environment such as this where they were welcoming the new heroes to their "humble" abode. He was immersed in his thoughts when someone called out to him. ??? : "Cornelius, what are you doing all the way over there, come over here!!" The random someone who he was referring too was one of his acquaintances from this class. A teenage boy about the age of sixteen, his name was Fred. He was gathered around a table with all of the other boys, they seemed to be talking about something exciting as all of their faces showed broad smiles. He picked up his chicken, not wanting to let it sit and get cold, and walked over to them. He grabbed a seat at the end on the far side from Fred, just so that he could listen in on their conversation. ??? : "So that''s how it goes huh? Alright Fred and I get that brown haired one, Mark and Victor, get the other brown haired one, Vincent and Damon wanted that one right? So that leaves four girls left and nine people. Before we go too far, since we have already heard everyone elses opinions, Cornelius, which one do you want?" Cornelius : "None of them, they aren''t to my tastes..." His comment caused great shock amongst those around him. He was handed a golden opportunity to get not only laid but also to keep a permanent pet, and yet he denied it. This truly shocked them but they soon overcame it and continued... ??? : "Alright more for us then" At this, everyone else broke out laughing. Fred : "Well that certainly solves the problem of the numbers, now we only have to determine the last four groups..." Their conversation went on like this until it was decided who got which girls. The girls in question were standing quietly to the side of the room, eyes downcast. Perhaps they were regretting their lot in life, to be given away to some people they have never met to be pets. Perhaps they were simply waiting quietly to become sex slaves for the saviors of their country. Who knows what they were really thinking... Meanwhile in another part of the castle... --------------------------------------------------------------- The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. ??? : "Where did you get this???" Girl : "It was left in *huf huf* the sphere... I think it was the last one, He might have been the Stratovian, otherwise someone would have *huf huf*noticed the card beforehand." ??? : "Whoever it was, you must find out. Should any harm come to him our entire country faces obliteration by the twins..." The source of the voice was an old man, dressed in long dark blue robes. The grand mage of the court. He knew more about the world then most people in the entire country. When the girl had found the card she instantly went to the most trustworthy and wise person she knew, and here she was, still tired from sprinting for so long... Girl : "But how do we find *huf* him, judging from this card, the primus has no memory of being a primus, and all of his Stratovian traits are either locked or inactive right now. *huf* He is, with all due respect to him ''normal''. " Wizard : "No, there has always, and will always be, one thing which sets him apart. Stratovians do not have the inherent ability to use mana. It was not built into them by their creator." Girl : "what does that mean?" Wizard : "Oh thats right, it isnt common knowledge. Well allow me to enlighten you, Stratovians as you know, are not human. They are in every way possible "better" then humans. They were created by a unique human millions of years ago and have since spread throughout the universes and planets. Every planet, whether or not it has life is irrelevant, has its own version of the original Stratovian city. The city watches over the planet, shielding it from threats which it would not be able to defend against. But for the most part they are passive in the affairs of man. That is, until a Stratovian wishes to decend and integrate themself into our world. These are refered to as "decended Stratovians" and generally they are "weak" among their race, or they have reached the pinacle of their field. The former is more common, however the latter is, while exponentially rarer, far more dangerous, as once they have nothing better to do they request a mind whipe and choose to live amongst us. Even the weak ones are still worlds beyond us even while constrained by limiters on their intellect. Even I in all of my two hundred years of living have only ever met one decended Stratovian, that was where I learned this. In fact, I think she is still hanging around somewhere..." Girl : "So how does that help me find him?" Wizard : "Ah right! You must wait until they are trying to use spells, as the Stratovian will be unable to do it. At that time it would be confirmed that he is without a doubt, the Stratovian we are looking for. In the meantime, you thought he was the last one right? Keep an eye on the one you think is the Stratovian. I will contact some friends and try and track down the decended Stratovian which I know of. Hopefully we can get this child away from this political nightmare of a kingdom before he is drawn in, for if he is, the twins will not let us off lightly..." And with that the wizard twirled and walked out the door, presumably heading off to go find some people at this late hour. The girl, left alone now, decided to heed his advice and try to find that boy she had taken an interest in. She headed off to the Heroes rooms, trying as hard as she could to be stealthy.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well this is taking longer then I thought... Spoilers about the cities under the tags, Spoiler : The Primary Stratovian City per world is run by a set of AI''s referred to as "The Twins" The City operates like a cell around its matter destabilization core. This core takes the surrounding atoms from the planets atmosphere, or anything really, as it has the power to decompose any atom and convert it into pure protons neutrons and electrons. It uses these decomposed atoms to create whatever the city needs. This process takes a rather long time, but since Stratovians live for seven hundred years on the short end its fine by them. Anyway, The city works like a cell. Every city start off with a population of five thousand, each one genetically different from the rest but all sharing Stratovian genes. These genes are different then human genes, as a Stratovians "low" IQ is upwards of four hundred. The more intelligent ones are in excess of six hundred. Stratovians are all naturally good looking but that is irrelevant to them, as they chose their mates for intellect. They are a polygamous society due to low birth rates and the desire to increase their genetic purity. IE a stratovian male with an IQ over 600 gets any female he wants assuming she doesn''t already have a husband. While a Stratovian male with an IQ of 400 essentially doesn''t get any pussy. This is genetically in place to continuously use the upper outliers to increase their species as a whole. Rather cool right? Even better, Stratovian Females are aggressive with higher intellect males, they will seek them out in order to create offspring of a higher pedigree. Even Even better, the Stratovians are all fine with this system, as it was put in place by their Creator, and is constantly monitored by the City. Yes, the City is alive... More on the Stratovians Cities next chapter :D First harem member? *Knock Knock* His eyes shot open. Who was it at this time of night? No, that statement was incorrect, he was unsure of the exact time of night, but he knew that it felt later then it actually was due to the stress of the day. He strained his ears, hoping to gain some amount of insight into what had woken him up. Perhaps an assassin? Perhaps a serving girl simply making a bit more noise then normal. Perhaps nothing of import, just a rat scurrying about in the walls. ??? : "Excuse me mylord, I have been meaning to talk to you since earlier about something, but as of yet I have not had the opportunity." A female voice, soft and melodic, came from the other side of the door... Cornelius : *So it WAS a girl...* He was baffled for a moment; what had he done to attract someones attention. No, perhaps this was a general thing and they were simply asking everyone, and now it was his turn... Cornelius : *This must be important; as the kingdom, after all they have done to be respectful, would not interrupt our sleep after the feast for a small matter. Perhaps something happened? Or they wish to talk to each and every one of us about our status cards?* Cornelius : "Yes?" He said, just to be safe... ??? : "Pardon my rudeness, but may I come in mylord?" This certainly was odd. He sat up in bed, put on something to wear and then walked over to the door. He opened it just a hair, enough for him to see out but for someone outside only to see a part of his face. What greeted his eyes was an alluring woman. Not exactly a beauty but not average in looks either. Less mature then the women given to the rest of his class, she appeared to be younger by a few years, putting her just older then he was. Around her body was a simple servants dress, brown and white in color. Her bust was adequate and her hips were narrow. She gave off an aura of knowledge, and as far as he could tell she was reasonably intelligent. He quite liked her, without a real reason to. It was odd, irrational, illogical. He discarded this feeling on those grounds. His original good impression wiped clean. he addressed her again... Cornelius : "Might I ask why?" Girl : "Ah... Ahem, Pardon my rudeness but I had a small question for you, no, that was an understatement. I have a rather ambitious question for you mylord, one that could very well get me killed and if left unanswered could potentially put you in unnecessary danger, and so I ask once again... May I come in mylord?" He pondered her words for a moment before looking out into the hall. No other door had someone standing outside of it like this, implying that either she was a good liar or he actually was an anomaly. He briefly nodded, turning around and sitting on his bed as he waited for the click as the door closed shut again. Cornelius : "This matter," He paused, choosing his words carefully. "What could be so important that you would risk your life to ask." Girl : "Ahemm" She cleared her throat " I, your humble servant Ismene, do beg" She paused, getting on her knees and lowering her head to the ground in a worship position. " To know of your true race mylord." Her head still bowed she seemed to be very tense. "I know that this question is forbidden from one of my position, and should you wish it I shall willingly go to death for my actions, however for your sake I must ask." She expected the answer. When in the castle servants have no rights at all, even her. She had once been from high nobility of a country that was conquered, she knew that even in her country asking something like this from her original position would likely result in grave punishment perhaps even death. That was at the forefront of the country from a position of power, and yet here she was, reduced to a slave in this foreign country, forced to obey, forced to work, forced down into a subservient position and yet she still had the stupidity to do something like this. If what she had just asked was overheard or known perhaps not just her but her remaining family or her friends amongst the servants would all be put to death. Status cards were just that, the inner workings of a person, to steal one, to take one, to even hold another persons was a crime not even the king would pass through unscathed. That was for normal people, and yet here she was, asking this of a hero summoned only a day earlier. She fell into despair as she waited his answer. Ismene : *If I am wrong about him, what if it was a different one? Would I die in vain?* Her thoughts raced, worsening by the moment. One second passed.... Two seconds passed... Still no answer... She could not tell what he was doing, or what his face looked like as she was still staring at the floor with her body down, hoping for that one outcome that would probably never happen... Three seconds... She heard him take a breath, she prepared herself for his answer. She tensed herself knowing full well that the next moment could be her death... Cornelius : "How did you know..." Ismene : *A question? No decree? No declaration of my death? Nothing but a question?* To her the answer to the question was easy, but it was baffling the boy. He had promptly hid the card the moment he had receive it. Making sure that nobody suspected anything before relaxing. He had been cautious, cautious enough to make even himself feel safe of his secret, and yet not even four hours had passed and here someone was inquiring about this secret he had en devoured to keep hidden. How? This question was the loudest among all of his thoughts. How had it been discovered, what had lead to this outcome? He paused for a moment, taking a good look at the girl again in the dark light. Thats right, it was her, she held the sphere, she was there the moment it came out. Perhaps she glimpsed it upon its exiting. Upon this realization he instantly changed directions with his thoughts, instead of how it was more on why she confronted him. Perhaps she wasn''t sure of what she saw, perhaps she had already told someone of her suspicions. He couldn''t use mana, therefore it would eventually be revealed correct? Then why was it such a big deal that she was kneeling. No, she said that this involved danger to himself. Who had she told that would bring danger unto him? You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. Anger and fury at this outcome seeped into his voice. From his earlier sentences it was too late to deny it. That left two options, the first was to kill her, but without a proper reason that would only lead to more suspicion and would lead to him being in the dark as to why he was in danger and who she had told. The second option... Either way, he needed to know who she had told and why the question was being asked... Cornelius (angered, not yelling though) : "Who... have you told..." Ismene (frightened) : "Nobody my lord, it was simply my own curiosity leading me to my foolish actions. I had to be sure before - *Choke*" Cornelius held her throat as he lifted her up. He was strong due to his inflated stats, but normally he wouldnt be able to do this with one hand. Logic had taken over at this point. She knew that he was not human, but had not told anybody as insurance in case she died. He had the option of ending her life right there and she knew it. She simply let out a smile as he held her up, preparing to take her life for his own safety, after all... knowledge is power... A knowing smile... A sad smile and yet at the same time a Fulfilled smile... Why was she smiling? Perhaps that irrational illogical statement had been correct. This female would risk her life in pursuit of pointless knowledge, knowledge that she knew could get her killed. KILLED That word rang out in his mind, as he thought back to her words. He released his grip, and slowly lowered her to the floor. Her knees could not support her weight and gave out, he continued to lower her to the floor until she was sprawled out, knees open, panting for air. Cornelius : "Why do you smile?" She coughed a few times before resuming her original posture of kneeling before him. Ismene : "I smile *cough * because it is an honor to die *gasp * at the hands of a primus, even a locked one...And at this point, my life is yours to take." Cornelius : "Since when do you belong to me? I never recall wanting you, desiring you, or anything of the sort. Is it because I almost killed you but decided to spare you, if so discard that notion. I spared you because you have information that may pertain to my well being." Ismene : " I belong to you, because the world , nay, the universe belongs to you Primus... You may not desire me, but I desire to belong to you, for out of every living thing on this hunk of rock in the void, you alone deserve to own someone else. Cornelius : "That word, Primus... Why do you keep calling me that? What does it mean?" Ismene : "Do you not have the legends on your world? No, perhaps you do not require them. You are a Stratovian, as you confirmed earlier. Stratovians are godlike beings present everywhere. They are akin to gods, they watch us, they protect us, but they do not rule us directly. Every universe has one Stratovian who comes close to their creator, that one Stratovian which stands above the rest is referred to as the Primus. They are more then gods, more then men, more the legends or stories, more then anything possible. They are a perfect existence, and you mylord, My light in this hellhole, My hope in this dark world..." Light started emitting from her arms, coiling around their bodies. Red light circled her while blue light circled him. He wanted to stop her but he could not move, her face contorted in pain, she started softly crying out, tears spilling out of her eyes. Unknown to him, she was literally forcing her soul to bind itself to his. Strangely enough a golden stream emerged and started solidifying in between. One end connected to her the other to him, it slowly and steadily grew stronger, forming a clear ethereal stream of energy connecting their souls... A strange feeling overwhelmed them both, a feeling of connection a feeling of knowledge and strength. A feeling of warmth... "You my MASTER ...are a Primus." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler : Hi again, hoped you like it... :D Back on the topic of the cities... Stratovian cities grow with their population automatically. (Did I mention that they fly?) When a city''s population exceeds a certain point the original city starts to build a second core on the outskirts of the city atom by atom. This creates an identical hub which is then split off from the original with its own five thousand Stratovian people. Its like Cell division, Once the cell gets to a certain point it creates another cell, and that creates another one and so on... All Stratovian cities are run by two AI programs on the large scale, but the cities themselves are run by the population. The AI''s have the final say in everything, and mostly monitor their surroundings instead of the city itself as those inside the city follow the rules to a T. Btw Ismene is a Greek name derived from the word isme, meaning "knowledge." Binding Small theoretical question. If an 800 year old existence lost all memories of sex, does that make him a virgin? His body isn''t, but his mind is right? Anyway, shit gets real next chapter, this one is a bit short but a bit large on the ero ero side (thats all that matters right?) 18+ unless you dont get innuendos in which case the only real word you need to watch out for is "sex" (2 times in the Author note...... HEY dont blame ME its mature >.>) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cornelius : "What did...you...just do?" He had an inkling on what she did, but he had to be sure before he proceeded on with the conversation. He could feel her next to him, he could feel her consciousness intertwined with his. Ismene : "I have bound us..." Cornelius : "Bound? What does that mean? What have you done to me?" Anger and a slight sense of panic invaded his voice as he asked these questions. It was his first time seeing magic, at least that was what he presumed it was. Ismene : "Forgive me master, I forcibly subordinated my soul to yours. It has no repercussions for you, only for me. For ever and ever, you now own me, and I belong to you..." She said, forcing herself off of the floor and then collapsing onto the bed. Her face was flushed and her breathing erratic. She looked like she had a fever or was in heat. Cornelius : "Explain, what are the consequences of that action which you just took?" His anger calmed slightly as he stood over this panting woman. What animal would rage at such a helpless creature. He was a being of logic, or rational, but he still had a conscience, no matter how faint, so he allowed her a moment to catch her breath before pushing her for an answer. Ismene : " My soul is bound with yours, should you die, so will I. Your commands are my laws, your wants, my needs, your wishes, mine. Should you ask that I throw myself from this window I am compelled to comply for the sole purpose of making you happy, should you tell me to stand in front of you and face dangers for you I would, for you and you alone. Where before I walked into this room I hardly knew you, now you are my everything, such is the effect of this spell. I love you with my whole heart and any harm to you is harm to me." Cornelius : "Why would you--" He was interrupted by a weak kiss from Ismene. She smiled at his baffled face. She giggled a bit then let herself flop onto the bed. Ismene : "Why would I let myself be bound to you, to be your slave for the rest of my life or yours whichever ends first? To obey your every command? To force my mind and body to fall in love with you where once no love existed? Partially it was impulse, but truly my love, I desired to belong to something divine. I saw an opportunity to bind myself far above this filth that permeates the world, to rise above the scum and the corrupted assholes of this race. Forgive me, I used you to allow myself to leave this place, but that was then, this is now... Now, I am completely undeniably yours. Even now, should you reject me and tell me to remain here I would be stay. Instead of misery at my lot in life however, I would feel joy. That would be your command, and I would fulfill it to my last. Win- Win right? Even should you order me to die it would not be worse then my previous situation." Cornelius : "Did you know what would happen before you used the spell?" Ismene : "Yes master, I was aware of the outcome..." She stared into her eyes, a fearless and heartfelt smile on her face. Cornelius : "You used me? Why not bind yourself to someone else and allow them to control you? Why suffer through unneeded pain. Why me?" Ismene : "As I have said before master, you and you ALONE are worthy of owning someone . To bow to the others would be outright treasonous to my ancestors. None of them could bind me unless I wished for it. This bind is a one way thing, it cannot be forced, it must be given as I have done. I wish to belong to you... " She then seductively eased the shoulders of her dress off, revealing white skin that stood out among the gloom of the dimly lit room. Cornelius was dumbfounded for a few seconds before he gathered his thoughts again. Cornelius : "Are you sure about this?" He had to confirm it, just to extinguish the last remaining shred of doubt. Ismene : "I know that my intellect is not exactly up to Stratovian standards and my looks are sub optimal, but if you wish to take me I am ready. There might be a slight problem if I were to try and bear your child however..." She said was a wry smile. He paused at this, wondering what she meant by "slight problem". Seeing the hesitation on his face she reached out her slender arms and pulled him gently into her bust. She gave a reassuring smile once again and started to slip off the rest of the dress. In a voice, as soft as her skin and as quiet as the dress sliding on that skin she spoke Ismene : "I am unsure of whether my body can harbor the offspring of a primus, which may result in the inability to have children. " Sadness was evident in her voice, conflicting with the large smile on her face. A massive sadness, not from having sex with a man she just met, after all in her eyes HE was all that mattered now, she loved him. No, the sadness was from her own inability to please him, to prove herself wholeheartedly. The natural order of things influenced humans to make offspring and she assumed that Stratovians were similar in desire. A woman who could not bear a mans child did not deserve the man. Such was common knowledge. Even more so when she was a mere human laying with a Stratovian primus. This was a failure on her part, a failure larger then most possible but the worst part was that she could do nothing to right this failure. It would always be lurking, no matter how many times she would attempt to create life with him she would always have doubts on her ability, doubts on her efficiency as a mate, and doubts on why she even tried... This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. If the act was pleasing for him, that would be enough, but the ultimate purpose of sex would be to procreate, and without that it was hollow. A simple lust induced action without meaning. Doubt and regret at her ability plagued her as her thoughts spiraled downwards, even deeper then failure even deeper then a hollow action, even deeper then his sadness... Cornelius : "Thats it? That was your problem? Its ok, I don''t want a child anyway right now, later on... I guess we shall find out?" Suddenly her self made prison was shattered as once more a light shined in her dark mind, interrupting its ever downward spiral into depression. She looked at him again, his eyes staring into hers from the valley of her breasts. She let out a fearless smile and slowly pushed his head downwards, towards her place. The place she was unsure of but he was willing to accept. Slowly his face approached that crevice in her legs, now bare from the cover of the dress, pushed further and further by her gentle hands. She was watching him this whole time, studying his reactions, his subtle changes. Would he truly accept her, was she good enough? When his face fell off of her belly and down the gap she noticed, as hard as he tried to hide it, his face flushed. He was dumbfounded at the current turn of events. She giggled, picking up his hand that was laying on the bed, guiding it to her breast. She had noticed, although the primus was most surely not a virgin, he had forgotten all past experience. She was overjoyed at having the opportunity to teach her master something. She sat up, took off his pants and began her lesson. The initial going was rather slow, as he had no idea what he was doing, but under the guidance of her gently hands they managed to get through the rough foreplay and on to the main act itself. When they began Cornelius was shocked at the blood as he took her maidenhead. She giggled the way she does and explained to him that, while being a slave denied her rights, her value would drop as an expendable servant should she lose her maidenhead early. "It was saved in case a powerful lord took a fancy to me as some had to those seven handed to your heroes. Each was broken and "claimed" by a lord. They are leftovers while I am pure." She then went on to explain, during the act, how most female servants would be used only for their first few times or whenever that particular lord wished. After the lord grew tired of them they would be sold to pleasure houses for the profit of the crown. Those seven were already broken as people, and were only awaiting the rest of their days as toys. What difference did it make to the kingdom who their owners were? "But you *UHH* MaHHssstter" *Grunt* " are above them, *UHH* you are beHHter. ImaGIne their surprise when *Gasp* everyOHHNe wake up tomorrow *Moan* and have to eXPlain..." He paused a moment receiving a set of puppy dog eyes from Ismene. "to them, how you won my heart." She reached up with her arms, a squelch sound rang out from their conjoined area. "Although, you -" She paused, enclosing his lips with her own. The kiss lasted a long time. When she finally separated a strand of saliva was dangling between them. She panted for a moment, then with flushed cheeks she continued " don''t have to explain anything. You will never need to explain your actions to everyone I will make sure of that." Once more a broad smile filled her face as she ran her fingers over his body. Right after that she persuaded him to continue, using the same puppy dog eyes from earlier. After a seemingly long time later, he decided that he should sleep. Ismene seemed a bit sad about this but acknowledged that it had been a long day for him. She looked at his back once more, a heartfelt smile surfaced once more as she leaned in behind him whispering softly in his ear Cornelius : "Goodnight master" She then cuddled next to him, placing her arms around him and falling asleep as well. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Comments? Criticism? Leave it below, This is my first fanfic and my first depiction of a sex scene, how did I do? I''m not actually sure how its going to go from here on out. I know that Eventually I need to get to the start of the prologue but what happens till then is up to (me, you, my whims, your comments, a random dream, the twins, who knows?) If you guys have been reading the "spoilers" about the Stratovians and want more, just say so and I will put more. I refrained this time because I haven''t seen any comments about them so I deemed it not worth the effort to write them down as condensed information. Anyway, leave a comment, follow me, rate, do something to let me know you live and are lurking (doesn''t that defeat the purpose of lurking though? D: ) Anyway, till next time.... Explain!! Is it just me, or did anyone else read the title in a dalek voice? Well I guess its just me :o Either way, here is the chapter...
Remember lurkers, I desire comments!!!
------------------------------------------------------------ *Knock Knock* Cornelius''s eyes shot open again. Sunlight was flowing in through the glass window off to his right. He tried to sit up only to feel a weight against his chest. He glanced down at Ismene, as a smile, irrational in origin but true in nature, surfaced on his face. It faded a moment later, replaced by cold logic and merciless rationality. Cornelius : *A fit of passion? *scoff* I thought I would be able to control myself better...fuck...* He sighed softly. He had lost (i guess?) his virginity last night, but to him it was secondary. This girl was still an enigma. She claimed that she belonged to him now, completely by herself. He had no proof other then her words, she had chosen this outcome herself and had manipulated him into believing it. He decided to separate himself from her emotionally until the truth behind her words was either confirmed or denied. He gently pushed her to the side and put his pants back on. The knock on the door rang out again, prompting him to walk over to it. He spoke through the door calmly, suppressing the turbulence in his mind about the events of last night. Cornelius : "Ya?" Fredy : "Oh good you are up, the guards want us out in the yard for a bit of ''assessment'' in an hour or so. Break-feast is made in one of the halls, if you get lost or don''t know where to go just ask a servant. But MAN did you miss out last night on those girls, well to each their own right? I will talk to you later but for now my stomach and the bathroom call..." He could hear Fredy walk away through the still closed door. His mind prioritized his actions, and he quickly set about them he only had an hour to do the first steps needed to maintain his personal safety. He went over to the Ismene and lightly shook her. Her eyes shot open and she sighed, muttering quietly Ismene : "I had hoped to pretend to sleep next to you for a bit longer, but I guess duty calls. Your servant Ismene is at your command master, what is your wish?" She got up, her still naked body shown in the bright daylight. Her blond hair was a bit messy but her body was still in pristine condition except for the slight bit of dried blood in her nether regions. Cornelius : "What happened last night?" He knew that his actions from before were not normal. He had not been in ''complete'' control of himself last night, and had lost to lust in the end. He despised himself right now for he had become a hypocrite. He hated hypocrites the most and yet he had become one. Naturally anger and frustration created a moderate storm inside of his normally calm mind. Ismene, upon seeing this gave a regretful smile and started to explain a bit Ismene : " Sorry for that master, I knew that it would instil myself with lust but I had no idea that it would affect you as well." That smile seemed to have the opposite effect, as he frowned. Cornelius : "You knew that would happen? You forcibly had sex with me under the guise of loyalty?" Ismene : "No no no!! Not at all master! The binding was between me and you, and although it originated from me the spell um... ''encourages''..." She flushed pink for a moment. It seemed she was completely different from her brazen self last night. Perhaps she as well was unable to control herself as well last night, "the user to uh complete, no... validate...the contract..I was unaware that I would be unable to control myself or that the effect would spread to you as well... I am unworthy of your forgiveness master, please punish me accordingly if I have offended or displeased you." She knelt down again, as she had yesterday when she first entered the room. Her words seemed sincere but as he was unsure if she actually was being sincere or just an incredibly good liar he could not be sure of the truth behind her words. He glared at her from his position away from the bed prompting a frown to appear on her normally bright face. Ismene : "I see that I have displeased you master, please allow me to fix the situation; I... am sorry but this humble servant does not know how to fix your displeasure, however I know that it stems from my actions. Please explain it to me so that I may right those actions and alleviate you of this anger." She once more got on the floor, her face turning serious, her voice resolute. He was almost certain that that statement was correct, but the tinge of doubt in his mind made him stop before he believed her. The doubt festered, shattering the partially built trust as if it was a rock under the roots of knowledge. Naivety forged this rock, but knowledge broke it apart, fragmenting it into small pieces of what once was. Cornelius : " I cannot trust you..." A flat statement. Such a simple thing as trust? Did he not believe her that her soul was his now? No, that required trust to gain trust... Ismene : "How would I gain this trust?" His words, though simple and flat in origin, had shattered her playful good mood, bringing forth the almost insurmountable realization of what she had done. She had taken advantage of her master. Whether she had intended to or not did not matter to him, she had betrayed him... This hurt her, far deeper then any torment or trial she had faced in her personal hell. That alone, was worth everything to her. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. She could simply state the truth, that she would never, and could never lie to him. But the problem with such a statement is that it requires trust to validate. Without trust she could not gain trust through that method. In his eyes she had used that same statement to take advantage of him in a weakened state, prompting this distrust. Cornelius : "I do not have time for this conversation right now, as important as it is. First, tell me how you knew... Yesterday when you saw my card, how were you able to know of my identity even after I hid it so quickly? Did you use some kind of magic? And this "Primus" word, where did that come from, its not on my card..." He decided to start with the most basic questions. Ismene''s face changed, she had forgotten to explain last night in the fit of passion. She reached toward her dress and slid out the secondary card from the small pocket. Cornelius'' eyes changed at the sight. He instantly went about checking his own pockets frantically, but his furious face changed to confusion when he pulled out his own card. Ismene, presenting the card on her knees, started explaining with downcast eyes. Ismene : "Forgive me master, last night I had forgotten to explain... Sometimes a person so unique is born that they inherently have two cards. The second card was left in the sphere after you walked away. Since it was not there prior to your reading I assumed it was yours. Later that day I came to confirm that question and return the card. Due to other matters this was delayed..." She flushed pink from embarrassment and shame at being unable to complete her original goal until the next morning. Cornelius took a deep breath, as if weighing her words against her actions last night. It did seem like she was humble originally. If she had possessed knowledge of his existence perhaps she could have used it for her own benefit instead of returning the card to him. Such an outcome would not be desirable for him. He had intended to hide his race for as long as possible because he was originally unsure how it would go over. Cornelius : "Anything else you havent told me?" Ismene : "Uh... Yes?" She replied, timidly. "There was... one other person who knows of your existence." She froze under his angry gaze. Quickly she attempted to validate her actions, causing her words to speed up. "He was the court wizard, who instructed me to keep an eye on you as you were the most likely person to be the Stratovian! *Takes a deep breath* Please master, I know you don''t trust me, but trust him. He knows full well what you are capable of and will do everything in his own power to return you to your people..." Her last sentence caught him off guard. "Return you to your people" The thought had occurred to him a few times upon learning what a Stratovian was. Cornelius : "Is that possible?" He was still unsure whether or not he wanted this outcome but he would not invalidate the option if it was open. Ismene : "Yes, but a locked Stratovian, even a Primus, must be unlocked fully prior to returning to the city permanently. You may visit there every once in a while but you are not allowed to live there as long as a restriction remains." He fell into deep thought after hearing her words. This continued for a few minutes until he heard a soft Ismene : "Ummm master, perhaps this isnt the best time to ask these things, breakfast is goign to be cold soon and, as I would love to make it for you, I am still their servant until this contract as well as your status are known; so I must report to the main hall or hunting parties will come looking for me to punish me..." The last part was said with a frown. Cornelius : "Alright...I will be talking to you later" He said, with slight anger in his voice at her interruption of his thoughts. Ismene : "By your leave master...." She bowed on all fours, and kissed his feet, put her cloths back on and then tidied herself up. All of it was done in about a minute. He watched as this enigma of a woman closed the door softly after making sure nobody was in the hallway. Once she was gone he took out the second card and compared it to the first. The mystery tied to the different name was still bugging him. Perhaps he wasnt "Cornelius" but instead Ajax. He pondered this for a moment as he put on a shirt. He put the two cards away, the first one on his left pocket and the other in his right. He did this so that were he asked to show them he could pull out one without the other. After a moment of preparation he went out to go find the hall where breakfast was being served. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- So good news? I got one out this morning! Bad news? I had to get up at 5:30 AM D: You guys better like this because it was difficult to wrap things up.. q.q No im just kidding (and tired)... This mysterious world traveler knew only bits and pieces of their language, but that was acceptable as the man had only been there for half a year. Despite the short amount of time, the important changes he had proposed were drastic and plain for all to see. At first the hierarchy had opposed this summoned man at every turn. He did not posses great prowess with the sword nor could he ride a horse, he didn¡¯t know how to cast spells, and all he possessed was knowledge and wisdom. What use was that to them in these trying times? That was then however, and this was now. By now, they knew better to oppose this man as what he proposed would benefit them all. His ideas and wit were very contrary to his appearance. He looked like a man¡¯s man, massive in stature, with broad shoulders and strong hands, his face burned by years of sun and slightly ugly to behold. He had thick muscles on his broad shoulders; He looked the part of a perfect soldier. He was not however a soldier but instead a thinker. His trained muscles seemed out of place and his characteristic scowl, ever present on his face, did not seem to belong either. Even now he was scowling as the nobles clamored around him, arguing about stratagems in order to deal with their aggressor. The noise suddenly halted, quelled by their awe, as the man stood. He didn¡¯t normally participate, making his voice known only when there was a better option available or they had agreed upon the ¡®wrong¡¯ outcome. Within the silence of the room he walked over to the large hanging map, which showed the border between them and their aggressors. The border was shaped like a capital L and their conversation was about a conflict involving one of the border forts. It was under attack by several thousand enemy troops, human in origin, The man walked up under the complete silence of the room with all eyes following his movements, grabbed one of the pointer sticks from the side and indicated one of the cities on the far right of the map just above the border, this city was labeled ¡°Mindras¡±. Directly above it, half of the map away was a fort. This fort, labeled ¡°Furden¡±, was the source of the conversation. Man : ¡°Here troops; There¡± Instantly the noise started up again, conflict between the assembled nobles and the man¡¯s statement. They knew that they were wrong to oppose him, that ultimately, he would be proven right, but they tried anyway, but it could not be said whether it was because they wished to know his reasoning or if they simply wished to prove him wrong for once. In opposition this time was a high general, he stood up and held up his clenched fist. When the noise was quelled he spoke General : ¡°But if we move that legion then our flank would be exposed, leaving Mindras open to attack from their position.¡± He pointed to another city, labeled ¡°Purta¡±. Then he continued ¡°We should pull the fourth, fifth and ninth battalions from Purta to bolster Lord Baltan at for Furden¡¡± He then pointed to a fort half a map away to the top of the map. This other one, labeled ¡°Purta¡± was also a frontline fort, but it was substantially further away from enemy positions then Mindras. The nobles in the room nodded at the sound strategy, it was one many of them had also thought of themselves. Man : ¡°No...¡± The man shook his head, drawing a questioning look from everyone in the room. He pointed to Purta, stating while shaking his head, ¡°Bad¡¡± He moved back to Mindras, nodding his head ¡°Good.¡± General : ¡°I understand your statement but -- ¡± Man : ¡° Safe ¡± He pointed to Mindras again, then moved to Purta stating boldly ¡°NOT safe! Once again faced with the questioning looks of everyone in the room he grew frustrated, and, while grumbling in his native language he looked at a servant sitting idly on the side Man : ¡°Ink¡¡± Moments later he was handed a pot of ink and a piece of parchment with a quill. He cleared off a spot on the table and crudely drew a representation of the war map. All of the nobles and the King gathered around wondering what he was doing. On the map three cities and two forts were drawn. They were labeled and their numbers of troops were marked as well. The man drew some arrows to further explain what he had proposed but still seeing the baffled faces of the nobles he handed to paper to the general. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Man : ¡°Why plan bad?¡± General : ¡°If we were to pull troops from Mindras the enemy would most certainly not let this opportunity go! We would lose the city in a matter of days. It would take at most eight days for our troops to go from Mindras to Aide Lord Baltan and if we assume the battle lasts two days that makes it an eighteen day trip. The march from the nearest enemy city is only three days and a half. That would leave them in control of our city before Mindras¡¯ troops even arrive at Furden! Such a plan is just stupid !¡± Man : ¡°No!¡± The man shook his head again with a flat denial. He pointed out the window. The gazes of the room followed his finger, they saw nothing outside except the brightness of summer and the golden crop fields. They then turned back to him in confusion. He started growling and cursing in his native language angrily. He took a piece of bread from a servant and held it before them. Random Noble A : ¡°Bread?¡± They were all dumbfounded, and they sat staring for a moment. The man¡¯s foreign gestures and words meant nothing to them as they continued to stare in confusion at the bread. Random Noble B : ¡°THAT¡¯S IT!!! Its summer!¡± The other nobles all turned to look at this person with wide eyes, as if wondering if he had only just noticed that it was summer. Random Noble B : ¡°To the east of Heyno, South of Mindras is the swamp of Galor, it¡¯s summer! The solstice is almost upon us!¡± General : ¡°The hydras are roaming¡¡± The entire room knew, hydras normally stayed within their steamy swamp for most of the year, but for a short period of time at the peak of summer they wandered in an attempt to find a mate. This roaming period lasted for about a week in both directions of the summer solstice. (a week before and a week after, meaning two weeks) Every person, skilled in the art of warfare or even if they do not know what warfare is, knows that if an army meets a roaming hydra they would face obliteration. Random Noble A : ¡°Mindras is almost completely surrounded by swamps, for a period of two weeks it is safe from all attacks¡± Random Noble D : ¡°If we pulled the army out using the Ando pass we would be able to reinforce Lord Baltan and return the troops at the very end of that period.¡± General : ¡°The troops at our disposal drastically increase while leaving no risks on the table to deal with! We would be able to utilize a far larger force then we would if we were to pull troops from Purta!¡± Random Noble C : ¡°We would hit lord Baltan¡¯s aggressors in the flank with a force two times their own!!¡± King : ¡°We would roll over them like a raging river! Servant, get me parchment and my seal¡± The various high nobles rejoiced at this. The king quickly drafted an order for one of those very nobles that would allow that person to take command of the Mindras Garrison and use it as their own army. After his decree was made he signed it, sealed it and passed it to Random noble B, the one who had realized the man¡¯s plan. King : ¡°Thank you for your service today Sun Tzu¡± After thanking the king Sun Tzu received a note from a servant, Note : ¡°I have received some interesting news about our enemies and their successful summoning. Perhaps they have some interesting heroes that you might want to look into. Either way, there is an anomaly among them which I have learned of. We must speak; meet me in my room as soon as possible.¡± There was no signature at the bottom, but he knew who it was from. Only one person inside of the kingdom had the ability to order him, her name was Zelpha and she was a descended Stratovian. He shoved the note in his pocket and set off for the descended Stratovians room¡ Comments are wonderful, if not rage at the plot twist would be cool, or any criticism or even a thanks maybe? I did notice a lurker commenting last time, its good to know that little red boxes telling lurkers to comment have an effect. Perhaps I should share this among other Authors? Either way...
Lurkers Beware! I am hungry for comments!!!
A playful god.. 3 in one day has got to be a record right? Anyway, Thumbs up for Zelpha and The Valkyries!!! No? ok fine ;-; ------------------------------------- Sun Tzu walked straight to the door that had a large crowd clustered around it outside. The crowd consisted of mainly of nobles, but also in attendance were court wizards, wise-men, generals and various wealthy members of society. The group was similar to the group of retainers that would follow the king around and kiss his ass all day, but this group had a different purpose entirely. Behind this door was one of two known descended Stratovians . An existence akin to a god, just glimpsing one was known to bring about great prestige and meeting face to face with one would be a tale to tell that would never get old. Not to mention her input on any problem would most surely be worth an entire country. Such was the prestige of the Stratovian minds, even a half unlocked one such as her Of course, standing in between these people seeking to meet a god first hand and the god herself, were four warriors. Right now, their faces were covered, leaving only an imposing mask above their golden black armor. The Valkyries were one of the easiest ways to tell which "Stratovian" was a real one and which was a fake. They were almost as feared as the name of the creators. Each one was a master of combat, gifted with weapons and abilities far beyond any mortal warrior. These demi-gods were known as Valkyries, and they were the personal guards which Stratovians took upon breaking their first few mental limiters and regaining their knowledge of their origins. (If you have forgotten, descended Stratovians lose all memories of themselves being a Stratovian when they leave the city. Only upon breaking the first few limiters will their memories return.) The number of Valkyries per Stratovian varies widely throughout history, varying from as few as two to as many as twenty, but they all posses the same regeneration abilities and immunities as Stratovians. Also remaining consistent are their godlike combat abilities and their armor, which is said to have been forged on the city itself. There have been tales about entire legions facing a Valkyrie and being obliterated, or how a Valkyrie can single handedly slay a dragon. What is for sure however, is that no mortal could ever kill one for, assuming a person could even break through their armor, all wounds inflicted heal in a matter of seconds, even severed limbs regenerate completely after a few hours. They were also immune to all poison and temperature. Their armor allows them to stand inside of fire breath and walk away with nary a burn, or walk out into frozen tundra with no shelter or insulation and still survive. Some have even told stories of them flying in the sky like archangels with wings made of metal. In the face of their weapons all armor, all walls, all armies, all resistance becomes futile, as they can shoot invisible lightning from their hands, creating the characteristic thunderclap but without even a lightning bolt to be found. Only the sound and the destruction remain after the characteristic whine that their weapons make upon charging. Mortals simply must watch as a gaping hole appears in their wall and everything after it is obliterated, leaving a furrowed nightmare in its wake. Spoiler : <--- They look like that but the wings are retractable to the point that they integrate completely into the armor He shook his head, clearing away his dark thoughts. He walked up to the door, pushing his way through the crowd which was talking quietly amongst themselves. They dared not yell or talk loudly for if they were to anger a Valkyrie or even worse her , their lives were forfeit. The Valkyrie that was standing imposingly in between the crowd and the door moved to the side upon seeing him. He passed through with only a moments hesitation. ??? : "Why hello there Sun Tzu , to what do I owe this visit?" She had picked up his language on the twelfth day he was here, and every time she met him now she only talked in it. She could write and read in that language, so all of her speech and notes and messages were in it simply to keep the meddling people outside or in the kingdom from snooping around in her business. On a couch in the middle of the room was a woman, no girl would be more appropriate. She appeared to be about sixteen but her real age was unknown, Tzu guessed it was around four hundred judging by the colors of the Valkyries outside. She was splayed out without a care in the world, a deity amidst peons. She had the power to set the world on fire, but instead she chose to sit on a couch and mess with him, guiding his actions subtly from the shadows. She wasn''t wearing much, just a light summer dress which hardly covered up her almost mature body. Her slightly small breasts stood out among the light fabric, partially covered by her long hair, silver in color. (Think Siera from noblesse I guess? but with less... apathy and a little more cleavage...) Tzu : "Hello again Zelpha, you had something to tell me right?" He took a seat on the opposite side of the table from her, but only after she motioned for him to sit. No matter how familiar with her he was, he would never even pretend as if he was even on the same level as one of her Valkyries. He was below her, and every action he took in her presence was carefully and meticulously calculated. She put on a fake pouty face, and snapped her fingers. A moment later a Valkyrie came in. This one was different from the ones outside, its armor was in a ''retracted'' state, revealing a feminine face, rather beautiful to look at. She was carrying a plate that had various sweets and some tea on it. The odd thought passed through his head that these beings which could so easily destroy an army; that instilled terror among mortals everywhere, that flew through the skies like they owned them; these supreme beings who could decide his fate on a whim were nothing but maids to Stratovians. He quickly put this aside as "rude" and set his whole focus on the matter ahead. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. The Valkyrie then quietly retreated to the corner of the room, awaiting her orders. Zelpha : "Are you sure you wish to rush me? Wouldn''t you rather relax or something?" She stood up from her spot, grabbed the two cups of tea, handed one to him and started drinking the other herself. She also sat right next to him. A moment later she snuggled up against him and then emphasized the word "relax". Tzu : "Please Zelpha... not today" Zelpha : "Oh..." She put on a fake pouty face for a moment or two, before scooting over and sitting on his lap... Zelpha : "But you are such a smart, intelligent man. I can''t help my instincts..." She panted a bit at that last word. It was all a lie, but had he not known better he would have believed her. She was in complete control over her body and actions. She just enjoyed messing with him specifically... Tzu : "Please stop joking, it wouldn''t work..." He said, lightly pushing her hips off of his knee. Zelpha revealed a pouting face again. She sighed a small sign and moved her hips off of his knee herself, taking his hint. Zelpha : "Oh I know, but I want you as my man..."She seemed depressed at that last moment, as if discarding the notion altogether... Tzu : "We BOTH know that that is not true." Zelpha looked a bit regretful at the mostly true statement. Zelpha : "Oh, you are not fun at all.." *cough*A moment later she cleared her thought, an arbitrary action as Stratovians have no need for such a thing. It merely signaled the true start of their conversation. She continued a moment later, this time seriously Zelpha : "As you know, your enemies have summoned heroes... I am not sure yet if they are from your planet or not but I do know that they have an average stat of about twenty five at level one" She paused for a moment, letting him ask any questions or make a comment. Tzu : "Like me?" Zelpha : "Yes, like you but... there are more of them then just one" She looked a bit regretful at the last few words. Tzu : "How many?" Zelpha paused for a moment. Tzu took a drink of his tea for the first time trying to wet his mouth for the discussion to come. Zelpha : "Thirty..." He started choking on the tea due to his shock. Zelpha merely waited out his coughing fit. Tzu : "THIRTY?!?! What about their abilities? How did they summon that many with one summon?" Zelpha : "I dunno," She gave an innocent shrug, befitting her appearance as a teenager "But whatever they did it worked, because, while most of them are just "normal" heroes there was one of note. A swordsman, who''s skills were impeccable but unfortunately she could not seem to control her body well. She possesses strength which will eventually be on par with the Valkyries, a massive stat of fifty four at level one. She had a plethora of skills pertaining to various sword skills, but from what my spy tells me she looks like the headstrong type. She should be easy enough to manipulate. Beware her potential though." Tzu nodded earnestly. To have the potential to reach the strength of a Valkyrie was unthinkable. He would certainly have to take care of this early. He bowed and then started to walk out. Zelpha beckoned to him with one final question. Zelpha : "Are you done with that appearance yet? Its boorish to look at, perhaps you want your true form back?" Tzu shook his head reluctantly, he still needed this face, this form. He had spent a long time building up his reputation as a trust worthy person and a good adviser. It was not yet time to discard it nor reveal his true identity. Zelpha seemed saddened by this answer and gave a small sigh. Zelpha : "Well when you do just come to me, I can change you back whenever you want..." He nodded and then walked out of the room into the crowd again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler : As I have stated before Stratovians have a natural genetic immunity to all poisons, and their bodies have a special self replicating synthetic bacteria strand which fixes their bodies. It is what allows them to live so long and it renders them nigh on impossible to kill through flesh wounds, as the wounds would just regenerate before any substantial damage was done. The only way to kill a Stratovian is to completely obliterate more then 70% of their body or to decapitate them, as their head is the only thing which does not regrow from scratch. Of course, that is the only way to truly kill them(lol thats funny!!) as the AVERAGE lifespan of a Stratovian [i]body [i/] is around 850 years or so. Like I said before, their bodies will last naturally until at LEAST 700 years. As their body is dying however, they possess the option to become incorporated into the Stratovian Forum, its an interlinked mainframe between all Stratovian cities, serving as a "backup hard-drive" in case (lol at the contingency plans) something were to happen to the current Stratovians. The "saved" ones would then teach the next generation about their origins and about their purpose in existence. Anyway.. Long chapter, keep on keeping on... Getting into Valkyries in the next spoiler maybe?
Lurkers Beware!!! For I desire comments!!!
In the courtyard (Think this is 8?) Sorry for the late chapter, Blame Rito... No seriously, I just spent the last 50000000 hours trying to fix my league client. Kept disconnecting me and then reconnecting me while i was in lobby... I couldn''t get a game ;-; Anyway, back to our main Hero!!! (MH instead of MC?) Spoilers are back by popular(?) demand (I honestly cant tell whats popular and what isnt as some ppl just lurk despite my messages... DAMN YOU LURKERS!!!! (No not really, I love you guys :DD)) On to the chapter I guess? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ??? : "Gather around heroes." The head trainer said when they had all assembled in the courtyard. He nodded to a high ranking mage, who started to chant a spell. After a few moments a almost see-through circle of air was created roughly twenty feet above them. This circle started to expand and encompass the assembled party like a bubble. The guard continued after the bubble started to form. Guard : "As you know, we are here today to assess your combat abilities and what you specifically specialize in. Yesterday when you received your cards your information was read aloud as you were handed your card, those are your stats and they represent you in all your uniqueness." At this moment, the wall of air hit the ground and made a small airlock sound. The guard paused for a moment and looked at the mage. The mage nodded, prompting the guard to continue. Guard : "As many of you may have noticed, the information we stated aloud when you were summoned.. was wrong, very wrong, as it was made up on the spot by our herald. There is a reason for this, as you may have predicted. Your stats are yours alone, they belong to no one else and should someone from our kingdom ask to see your stats, that person is a spy attempting to gain state secrets. All of our loyal servants know better, but the spies are trying to take advantage of your ignorance of our rules. If any servant asks or has asked for this information please see myself or the court wizard and they shall be dealt with accordingly. For those of you who have not yet figured out why we stated false information, it was for that exact purpose. We have many enemies, and causing any amount of confusion to them or harassing their plans in any way, be it exposing their spies or giving them misinformation, is helpful to us. For those of you concerned now, we promptly wiped the heralds memories of the event so that he would not remember the cards even under magical interrogation. Please rest at ease with the knowledge that only you know your stats. Neither myself nor anyone else here will ask for your stats, and we will only know what you want us to know. Please do not tell us the numbers or their general values as a powerful mage would be able to wrest that information from us even against our will. It is best that we not know it. What information would we like? Perhaps a general idea of your spread, for instance if you are a caster or a fighter. Not all of you will have a knack for magic and not all of you will have a knack for the sword or other weapons. For those of you which have talent for neither please, do not be distressed, as your input will still be valuable. When the spell dissipates we are going to go to a sealed training hall to personally test you, or perhaps we will pit you against each-other, its up to you. The weapons we will be using are just blunt training swords and a few mages will be on standby to heal you in the unlikely even of an injury. Now, this has been a rather long monologue, but while inside of the bubble I am able to say whatever I wish without any information leaking out, so I am trying to use that effect before it dissipates. As it would take longer then the duration of the spell to sort through you one by one based on your wishes, I will walk to this side of the bubble, all who wish to practice combat please follow me after the test, all who wish to practice magic please follow the court wizard..." The guard proceeded to walk to the far side of the bubble, leaving a majority of the class a bit dumbfounded at the new knowledge. Yes they had noticed something was off when the numbers were read incorrectly but they hadn''t said anything because it would have been awkward at the time. As it was explained to them a bit of realization dawned on them; they were not here to play around. In this world they were indeed ignorant, and people would try to take advantage of them before they learned the rules of the game. The class was split, unsurprisingly, 4-32. While a sword was a few people''s fantasy, what person wouldn''t jump at the opportunity to learn magic. The guard seeing the turnout nodded a few times and then spoke up again, addressing everyone still. Guard : "Well, I expected as much. Remember, you may swap your focus at any point in time, you simply need to come here to this courtyard in the morning instead of the mages tower and vice versa. We will continue to assess your aptitude until the sun reaches its zenith, at which point we will break for lunch. After lunch will be a few other things, for those who wish to learn, the librarian will hold a "general question" time after eating. All questions are open, but she will mainly focus on knowledge pertaining to topics such as history and warfare as well as who our enemies are and why we need you. Any questions? No? Good... Please do not talk amongst yourselves of your stats when the sphere dissipates...Please remember, this information could allow an enemy to counter you at every turn and it should best be kept secret from even your best friends for their protection as well as yours. If anyone has an "odd" profession or class and doesnt know which category he/she falls into feel free to experiment on your own time, but please make sure to keep all information on it to yourself for reasons already stated. Should you absolutely undeniably need guidance and you have no other alternative, our kingdom does employ an oracle. She may be able to help you, but that is a last option, only to be taken when all other options are expended... We are out of time it seems...then my lords and ladies, shall we begin?" He received a few nods, but an overwhelming majority was stares. The wall of air dissipated and he lead the class to an isolated hall, much like the one which the feast had been in last night, except it was slightly larger. It had been cleared of everything inside of it, creating a large wooden space, kind of like a dojo. He had them stand to one side of the space, while he walked to the middle of the room, where a small pile of metal swords were stacked. He made picked one up, tested the edge with his hand and then gave it a few swings. He nodded in satisfaction at their quality and then turned back to the group. Guard : "Before we start, I gave you the option of two methods, we test you, or you test each-other... Which one would you like?" The class started talking to itself for a few moments quietly before seemingly coming to a decision. The teacher stepped forward and told the knight that the class wanted the knight to test them first, then test each-other. The guard seemed to understand and then asked for a volunteer for sword testing first. Someone raised his hand, leading to that person being chosen. A moment later the mage asked the same question, but before he finished his sentence he was met with a flurry of hands. He chose someone from the front of the group causing all of the other hands to flop down dejectedly. The girl chosen was very ecstatic at being chosen and skipped up to the mage to start the test. The guard picked up a second practice sword and handed it to his slightly reluctant volunteer. Guard : "What is your name my lord?" ??? : "Uh.. My name is Fredy..." Guard : "Nice to meet you Frehdie. I am Sir Bennitor, you may call me "Ben". Have you ever used a sword before?" At Fredy''s head shaking he gave a slight frown but it changed to a reluctant smile as he moved on. "Then for now, just strike at me. Do not worry about me, just use your full strength to attack me. Do not be alarmed when I parry, just continue attacking." Fredy nodded and then drew the sword back. His mind flashed to a few games and movies he had seen that featured sword fights. He wasn''t quite sure if he would be able to do much but he wanted to try anyway. He held the thought in his head that this skill would remain with him even after he returned, as opposed to the magic that the others wielded. Their world didn''t have magic, why would you want to learn something that you would lose instead of something that you could keep? And swords were awesome! His mind changed to the man standing in front of him. A big burly guy, standing over six feet tall, four inches taller then Fredy. Fredy took a deep breath and swung his sword from the right side towards the left. He wondered why the metal sword was so light in his hands. Surely it should be heavier right? It reached an astonishing speed as it approached Ben, so fast that even Fredy was surprised at his strength. He thought for sure that he was good with the sword and that this was the way to go! A moment later , in a silver flash and a clang sound his sword fell towards the ground. Fredy : "Huh?" He wondered what had happened, but felt a bit of cold against his neck. He looked from his empty hand to directly in front of him. There stood Ben, his demeanor completely different from what it was originally. Where once it was the feeling a carefree uncle would give you, now it was a ruthless executor, ready to kill at only a moments notice. The blunt edge seemed all to real to Fredy as he fell backwards on his but. A clang sound had drawn the attention of the class... If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. Perhaps in their arrogance they assumed that magic would be more powerful, more relevant, better ... These arrogant thoughts had permeated their minds, drawing their entire attention to the soon to be first example of magic that they would see besides the air forming a bubble outside. A trance formed around them as they stared at the spectacle about to unfold. A magic cast by one of them, proving that this was a real dream which they possessed. This dreamlike state of concentration was broken by a foreign sound. A clang.... Such a simple sound, but so out of place amongst the chatter. Only once source could have created it, the metal swords that the guard and Fredy had been using. They had turned around, perhaps expecting the guard to be knocked down or disarmed. after all they were the heroes. The ones summoned to be op and save everyone. It would not fit to be defeated on the first day by a common guard right? And yet, low and behold one of their own, someone who''s actions and demeanor implied that they possessed a strength based stat skew, was on their ass, with a sword to their neck. Perhaps it was shock... Perhaps it was realization, Perhaps it was astonishment, perhaps even denial... Whatever it was, it permeated their systems, their bodies, their blood, their very conscious itself. No longer were they amused by these circumstances, arrogance disappeared from their eyes and a slight fear filled them. Fear of these men in front of them. They were supposed to be better then people, they were given gifts and had been bombarded with praise, they were enticed as people spoon fed their egos. Now that overinflated ego just up and ''popped'', left even smaller then it was before. Realization had taken its toll, either one of these two people would be able to eliminate all of them at once with hardly any effort. ??? : "What level are you?" A question was asked from within the group, directed at the guard. Everyone looked back at the source with questioning eyes. The man before them, this existence which could end them at any time, had explicitly explained that such a thing was personal. Never to ask, never to tell, and yet this person had asked. Not tactfully, not through conversation, not even alone... just flat out asked amidst a group of other people. Its source was nowhere to be found however, for the students or the guard. Silence permeated the room, as the wizard had paused as well noticing the strange reaction of the students. Ben : "Why is that relevant? Such information is not given out lightly..." The guard asked, slightly angry that someone wasn''t listening to his talk about that earlier. The anonymous voice once more replied, causing a shift among the group. They knew who he was. The loner, the jerk, the nerd, the sarcastic prick, the one who always corrected them, that guy ... The people around him moved away from him slightly. This effect spread rapidly, leaving him isolated from the group as he always had been. Cornelius : "Can you not answer your own question?" Ben : "What?" He grew slightly angry at this comment, but then he looked around. In the eyes of his onlookers. A look he knew well. A look which he had seen many times by rookie troops on the battlefield. A look perhaps more dangerous to a person then the war itself... FEAR Fear, the source of nightmares. One of the strongest emotions a person could have and one of the hardest to get rid of. Fear could inspire loyalty, but when taken to far it has the adverse effect. It could turn someone useless in only a matter of seconds, leaving even the strongest warrior a convulsing crying sack of meat on the ground. One of the main problems with this fear was that it was so easy to induce as it was one of the most primal of emotions. Fear stemmed from the flight or fight reflex. When your body deems it impossible to win through a fight, it chooses to flee. Should your mind deem it impossible to flee, fear is born. He glanced around the students, trying to find a face not covered in the emotion, but everywhere he looked it was futile. The dreaded emotion which could bring ruin to armies faster then a lack of food hung heavy in the air. He frantically searched, glancing even to the side at Fredy. Fredy had it worse then most of those in the group, as this was his first brush with death. He noticed only two people who had maintained their rationality after having their arrogance crushed. The inquirer was one, and the other... Ben understood after this, the meaning of the question. It was context... When you come up with an insurmountable force you fear it instinctively, but if someone were to tell you that you would be able to become that insurmountable force then your fear would turn into eager anticipation. Revealing his level, not even his status, could have the ability to explain the gap between his pupils and himself, urging them onward in their training to eventually reach and surpass his level. Ben : "I am level one hundred and eighty five... But rest assured Heroes, each and every one of you has the potential to put me to shame. You need only train and grow, after that you shall surely prosper... You, Hero," He pointed to the boy who had saved him the trouble of recovering the people, whose eyes had already started to turn from fear to respect. "What is your name?" Cornelius : "I am Cornelius, and I am next in line..." He said, walking forward and picking up the sword Fredy had dropped. A smile cracked on Ben''s face as he lifted his sword. Ben : "Very well then..." With that the sword test started... --------------------------------------- Wow, long chapter right? Anyway Spoiler : Where was I? Oh right... Valkyries are any warrior who chooses to serve a Stratovian. They are gifted with advanced technology far ahead of anything we (as in 2015) are currently capable of designing. More details on these later, but as I have noticed a few comments (Welcome lurkers :D) asking about the Primus I figured I might as well explain it. There is allowed to be ONE count it ONE primus per Galaxy. When the old Primus dies a new one is chosen. A HIGH Primus is the most advanced Primus of them all. Btw The difference between the Primus and normal Stratovians has "yet" to be revealed but for those who want to know read the spoiler inside the spoiler... (That doesnt work, its below.... Click it :3 you know you want to......... Their telekinesis and their higher intellect make Stratovians the most ruthless species in the known universe, allowing them to do many things which others are unable to do. Their Computers alone are capable of becoming complete people, possessing their own personalities and emotions. A true Stratovian weapon, not the "fuzz throwers" the Valkyries use, has a similar effect as a HALO ring, but with selective targeting. (They can purge the entire universe of a specific species in a matter of seconds by having their cities target a specific genetic makeup and just deconstructing all existing copies of it. The people don''t "die" they are literally erased from existence atom by atom, leaving no copies or varients of their DNA in existence.) And while this is normally done from every Stratovian city (only happened two times in all of their existence) it only requires five to do, as the range of one of their weapons is around a third of the universe. (like in a sphere) Those are their most powerful weapons, of course their are some almost as powerful but on a small scale, such as planetary or even personal. Their other weapons shall be explained later(possibly?) I mean, all you have to do is ask about the lore and I will explain it.. I spent a while on this guys, please...ASK Q.Q Anyway, keep on keeping on... Sword fight next time? This is the second one, it didnt play nice with the other spoiler, so it gets to be below.... Spoiler : There you go!!!! Stratovians are telekinetics, and while most of them are only able to move objects with their minds, a Primus has the ability to move individual atoms and restructure molecules. A HIGH Primus has the ability to completely (Yes I know this isn''t possible, but bear with me for a moment... ok I have the solution, tell your computer to divide by zero and your plot-holes are solved, in other words, accept it or fuck you....) destroy energy, allowing them to break the laws of the universe. This is considered nothing to them, as their creator is said to have possessed the ability to rewrite these laws by himself. (There actually is an explanation for that one....D: im serious, if enough ppl ask I will start to type out the main story on RRL) Turns out I spelled spoiler wrong...
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
A day late! its chapter 9!!! Sorry for the late chapter, spent all day yesterday writing the essay I didnt want to write, not to mention I woke up at 4:30 yesterday morning.. I was too tired to attempt to make this badass at the time, and knowing you guys I assumed you could wait (no suicides yet right?) for the chapter if it was guaranteed to be better then it would have been. Fun stuff is planned for the future. In the spoiler today is the creator!!! in all his glory!!! (sleep is needed I guess....) Enjoy :3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silence... A single word embodying a state of the sound in the room. The problem with silence is that it never conveys enough of what is happening in the room. Silence... A single word, revealing so much about a situation. Nobody dared to talk, nobody dared to breath, nobody dared to move or think due to the tenseness of the situation as they looked on at this teen who had challenged someone drastically more powerful then them. That was a simple fact. The man was above level hundred and had been doing this all his life, how could they arrogantly think to match him on their first day here? Silence... continuing on for what seemed like forever. ---------------------------------------------------------- *Inhale* He had to do it correctly. He had no chance if he messed up for even a moment. He calmed his body down, slowing his breathing and waiting to hear his heartbeat, *Exhale* *Inhale* *Exhale* There it was, a soft rhythmic beating growing steadily louder the longer he listened to it... *bathump* *bathump* *bathump* *Inhale* After this breath he started to feel something odd, the synchronization of his mind and body, a feeling he had not felt in years, the feeling he got when doing only the most rigorous sports, ones that had needed, nay demanded his full attention. *Bathump* He glanced at the man infront of him *Bathump* An unknown variable, the anomaly infront of him, The "X" in this equation. *Bathump* *Exhale* The easiest way to solve for X however, was to isolate it and solve the other half of the equation... *BAthump* *BAthump* Inhale* First, one must divide by the other components which X had, in this case, Armor, a blunt sword, which cancels out with his own.. *BAThump* *BAThump* *BAThump* But of course, the most problematic component of all, the experience gained throughout his life.. *Exhale* *BATHump* *BATHump* It was growing louder, his body was synchronizing with his mind. Only a few moments left and it would reach its complete synchronization *Inhale* *BATHUmp* *BATHUmp* *Exhale* His mind reasoned, the swords offset each-other, leaving only armor and experience as things to cancels out. He reasoned that as this was a test and not a duel the armor would be irrelevant, leaving just one... *BATHUMp* *Inhale* *BATHUMp* *Exhale* With all other variables eliminated, the question becomes not what the man has to his advantage but instead if Cornelius can match the mans skill with his own. This was always the question, but solving for X is easier then overcoming the irrational fear imparted by nature. There it was, the pinnacle of the feeling... The time to start this test was rapidly approaching... *DEEP INHALE* *BATHUMP* *DEEP EXHALE* *BATHUMP* *DEEP INHALE* *BATHUMP* And thus it began... A swing of the blunt sword from the position where it had sat motionless for the past while. It almost caught the man off-guard, but he recovered in time to parry the strike with his own, swinging from his right to his left, causing the horizontally inbound sword to careen off course. It was only a moment later however, that the sword recovered and changed direction towards his left leg, Ben dodged however, moving his leg out of the way only a moment early, leaving the arm in which the sword was held available to attack. It pulled back, causing the downward blow to only glance off of the hand guard. Cornelius pulled back and put his sword down again, studying his opponent once more. Cornelius had been faster, but his opponent was by far the better fighter. The reaction time, the flaws, and the slight delay here and there as the man remembers not to injure Cornelius or inspire fear into the class again. Cornelius let out a fearless smile. He had the advantage here... The longer the fight went on the longer he would get to study his opponent... He had a learning curve whereas his opponent did not... His opponent had already hit their peak in skill and was waiting for their body to catch up with their mind. Cornelius was just the opposite, as with all of his classmates. Their bodies were good, not nearly on par with the man though, at least not yet, but given time they would certainly be more powerful. No, what they needed now was the skill to use their new-found strength. Cornelius had, even prior to this, been able to synchronize his mind and body, making it instantly listen to his commands and do almost impossible things. Such was the degree of control which he had over it... Now that he did not have the problem that Fredy had had, and the mental ability to study his opponent for weaknesses it was only a matter of time before he won... Ben seemed not to have noticed yet, but Cornelius couldn''t be sure. He didn''t want to leave his opponent with too much time to think, so he engaged again, taking the information from the original spar and applying it to this one. Cornelius did not attack from the left horizontally this time, but instead from the right, taking advantage of where Ben''s sword would go should he counter like he had last time... Ben followed his predictions, and parried downwards this time, keeping his sword on his right side, but swinging even further right, shoving Cornelius''s sword past his shoulder, then Ben took the tip of the sword and tried to angle it towards Cornelius. Cornelius saw this coming however, as it had been what Ben had failed to do last time. He used his extended arm to knock away Ben''s extended arm after the sword had moved, causing the point to soar two feet above Cornelius. He then retracted his arm, slightly missing Ben''s side with his sword point. After this trade Ben''s carefree smile faded, and it was replaced with a serious expression. Cornelius responded with his own carefree smile. Once... Twice... Three times they traded Each time, Cornelius was getting closer and closer to getting a hit off on Ben, whereas Ben was getting further and further from hitting Cornelius. Ben cracked a smile and then swapped hands with his sword, making his left hand his sword hand. Cornelius narrowed his eyes at this. The entire time Ben had only used his right hand, and that was what Cornelius took advantage of, Ben''s inability to correctly cover his left side and his right side. Cornelius was faster in his reaction times and could more properly control his bodies movements, so it was only natural that he could better dictate where the sword would go, even without years of experience. This action by Ben however, had voided all of his previous learning and stratagems. With the sword in the left hand, it proved two things and brought up another question... The first thing it proved was that Ben was ambidextrous. And the second, was that from now on it would get harder... Substantially harder... Why would it become harder? Because of the question which had just arisen... Had Ben been going easy this entire time? Using an offhand instead of his main hand? Cornelius readied his sword again, preparing to take a moment to think out a plan on how to attack Ben. A moment later however, Ben took the initiative, striking down with speed and force which had not been existent in the past few bouts. Cornelius was a bit shocked at this, but for the most part he had predicted the increase in difficulty. The thing which caught him offguard however was Ben''s sudden offensive. He was unable to dodge in time, and had to throw his sword up in defense. The movement was sloppy however, and his sword was easily knocked away by an unstoppable swing, which then lost all force and lightly tapped him on the shoulder. Ben suddenly showed a carefree smile again and swapped hands back to his right before turning back to the onlookers. The young man he had just fought had actually forced him to swap hands! Who could believe it. He showed such prowess with his body that his lack of sword-skills meant almost nothing. He had waited for the right moment, carefully observed his opponent and then utilized that information to gain the upper hand in the fight. Ben was extremely satisfied at that young man behind him. He was ready to proceed onward with the tests, but a voice called out... Cornelius : "Again..." Ben turned around, slightly baffled by the mans action. Cornelius was just standing there in a daze looking at the sword in his hand. He then glared at Ben and said resolutely... Cornelius : "AGAIN" Ben was confused by Cornelius, but complied. He had only just fought the otherworlder for a few minutes but Cornelius''s growth rate was off the chart. He went from being a novice to specifically targeting weak points in the opponents defense. Such growth normally took a year or two, but this child had done it in five bouts. Only a minute or two had passed since he first picked up the sword and already he was asking for more. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Ben nodded, assuming that this growth would only reach a point and he risked driving the child off of the path of the sword should he refuse to comply. He readied his sword in his right hand subconsciously. Cornelius glared at him, and he realized his mistake after a moment. He promptly swapped hands again, and a moment later Cornelius began his offensive. At first the strikes were easy to deal with for Ben, as the difference between his right and left hands was like the difference between a gopher and a whale, they couldn''t be compared. He used his right hand for stuff like this, whereas he only used his left hand in the midst of combat. It was what had earned him his name as a knight, as well as his position as head trainer. He was almost unmatched throughout the kingdom, despite his only moderately high level. He assumed that when he swapped and started fighting seriously he would be able to easily dispatch this novice swordsman. To a point he was correct, as in the first bout he had landed a hit extremely easily. In a dual this would constitute his victory, however Cornelius wouldn''t give up, and asked instead to keep going. Ben, fighting seriously now, assumed that it would be easy, as he had originally. But a realization dawned on him as the flurry of blows which he sent out was matched perfectly, all momentum was redirected and all force was nullified. What stood before him was not a novice, nor even a swordsman. The one who stood before him, in all their two minutes of sword-practice, was an absolute blade master. The amount of skill which the boy and his body could produce was outstanding, every blow was blocked perfectly, every thrust was parried, and then countered. Once more he was astonished by this growth rate, and decided to try something. He decided to go for killing blows, just out of curiosity... This was something which he never would have done in a duel, but this child this Cornelius was too much of an anomaly... He had to see how far this boy would follow the rise in difficulty level, and so he broke the self imposed rule that he would not try to kill them. At first, the change in seriousness of the match caused Ben to almost kill Cornelius a few times, even with a blunted sword, and yet, he never could truly exploit the openings that his attacks had created. He couldn''t explain it. Cornelius was adapting at a rate impossible to ascertain for him... All of his strikes were being copied and thrown back at him, all of his movements were being incorporated, all of his style and skill was being taken and used against him. Ben''s mind wavered for a moment... Only for a moment, as he contemplated the boy in-front of him. The irrationality of the skill. This Cornelius, had he remained in his world, this skill never would have shown itself. A skill level like this would shake the kingdom, no it could shake the world. The longer you fought him the harder he became to defeat and eventually you would fall prey to your own style... His mind only wavered for a moment..... but in that exact moment, Cornelius sent a strike straight at one of the vital points on Ben''s body... Something Ben had done only a few strikes earlier in the bout... Ben noticed this just before it would have been bad and managed to parry it, with no room to spare. A cold sweat appeared on his back, as his mind went blank, he didn''t allow himself to think, as a moment of distraction would possibly end his life....as a single thought ran through his mind. A thought that slipped out from the blank mind. Ben : *What monster have I unleashed???* Ben : "Hold for a moment..." Ben paused the bout... It was only roughly a minute since he had swapped hands, but already his life was in danger. He walked over towards the pile of swords and picked up another one. Ben : "You know, you are rather good at this My lord, However, you are getting a bit cocky in your movements. This is leading you to take risks which even I would not take in a fight..." Ben knew that was a lie, as Cornelius''s entire style had been assimilated from Ben''s. He knew that he had taken those risks first, that he had continued to amp up the difficulty of the fight ever so slightly every single trade. After that first hit, he had never been able to so much as scratch Cornelius again, whereas he was getting closer and closer to getting hit himself. This was his last fallback... He was ambidextrous, and he hoped that he might be able to catch Cornelius off guard or at least end this before one of the them died. He was the instructor, him the student, Ben must make this known to Cornelius before this single bout ended. He must land a hit and finish this. He walked back to Cornelius, who was staring at the second sword. He said, quietly, so quietly that only Cornelius could hear it Ben (whispering) : "This has to be the last one, whoever takes the hit now, must forfeit. You have great skill, but for now I must also test those other students. I cannot allow myself to lose here, so I shall bring everything to this next bout. Remember, one hit, that''s all." Cornelius nodded slightly, a little angered by the premature end of the confrontation. Ben readied both swords, infused what mana he had, all of it, into only one of his arms and then went in for the quick end, putting it all in one arm for a single swing, knowing full well that given time he would be defeated at his own game... Cornelius readied himself, prepared to receive the full brunt of both attacks. He poised himself to jump back at only a moments notice. When Ben came he was as ready as he could be, and he focused on stopping the left sword, as the right sword was the weaker of the two. He calmed himself, and parried the mans blow. Cornelius : "What!?!?!?" The amount of force the blow contained was incomparable to earlier, and he was forced back as all of the air flew out of his lungs. He impacted the wall with a strong thud, and his vision started fading, but not before he saw Ben panting, blood running down his right arm. With that scene implanted in his consciousness his vision went dark... And then... silence returned... -------------------------------------- Finally a long chapter? Well anyway, sorry about the late ish release, i woke up at 4:30 yesterday morning and was too tired to write anything other then my essay on Russia, and since I desired this to be a bad-ass chapter I decided to wait till I had had enough sleep to write it sufficiently... Spoiler : Stuff? no I''m kidding... Cough* Cough* The creator of the Stratovians!! (I love this guy, he is the MC of the original storyline...) His name was Mark Stratos (Notice the relation?) Mark was a super-genius who was abducted, (poorly) by a time traveling super villain, and was sent back to the world of Dinosaurs!! The super villain, in the middle of his speech, was eaten by a dinosaur, and so Mark became trapped for a few years. Stuck for a bit in the primordial world he decided to create a flying city so that he wouldn''t have to kill off all the dinosaurs which attacked him, of course he didn''t want to build this city himself, so he designed a city which could build itself, this was the birth of the original twins and the original city. The city was originally just a "core" the size of a modern house, but it only had a room the size of a bedroom inside of it and a lab, the rest of the space was used to house the computers (the twins)... There is a long description of what happens and how the Stratovians come about(just ask and I will write the main story ;-;) , but long-story short the city grew to the size of an actual city and Mark decided to create a race to inhabit the city. He made them genetically better then everything else, and gave them the "seek intelligence" gene, prompting them to become smarter over time. He then built a time machine, (theories galore!) out of a particle accelerator and a piece of crystallized hydrogen, prompting his entering the time space continuum. The city, flourished growing into multiple cities, each one eventually leaving our planet (except the original) and going to different places such as different planets, different times (using the device) or other universes (using an antimatter and dark-matter compound to rip apart the universe temporarily and escape, i mean spread) And thus the Stratovian race was born!!!) Alright that was a lot of stuff happening... I will be gone this weekend, starting tomorrow morning so don''t expect any chapters till Sunday night probs. *will still try to get one out later today, if not two.,,* Lots of good stuff is planned :3 Remember lurkers!
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------- Im back!! Sorry guys, short ish chapter today, just wanted to get this one out to let you know I''m still alive! Got back from the snowy mountains on Sunday but I came down with something so I haven''t had time to write or do anything for that matter, no spoiler this time, and no Cornelius or Sun Tzu, sorry guys, instead take some of the aftermath of the summoning from our side!!! I will get a longer one out later, its just that I don''t have time right now, (at school in between classes, sneezing and coughing because im still sick : ( --------------------------------------------------------------- Nestled deep within the center of the Milky Way galaxy was a planet by the name of Dunamis. This planet was the meeting point between all of the major powers in the galaxy, as it was completely neutral to all conflicts. Since the planets discovery and widespread use as a diplomatic rally point millions of years ago, there had been only six cases where the major powers of the galaxy all attended a session between their diplomats. These rare occasions happened at very very strenuous times, times such as the second intergalactic war, and the Nlubring epidemic. Such trials had long since passed however, and the main hall had not seen use in a long time. This normally empty hall was now filled to the brim however, as every single race and interplanetary civilization which could make it, had rushed over here after a certain event. An even which far surpassed its predecessors in severity, a problem so massive that nobody even questioned the widespread summons from the galaxies dominant forces. Off to one of the wings, a diplomat from a smaller race known as Gjkr , they resemble a small furry creature, was talking with an entity from a ¡°bug¡± race. ??? : ¡°I don¡¯t get it, why is everyone so paranoid about this? What was it about that message which forced this conference?¡± The other thing, a giant bug with wings just looked at the asker, or at least it seemed like it was looking, you could not really tell with their compound eyes where the bugs were looking. Bug : ¡°You honestly don¡¯t understand Gjkr ?? (Race of the furry thing) The Stratovians are angry!!!¡± The Gjkr : ¡°No I don¡¯t get it¡ Inside of this very room are the largest empires in the entire GALAXY! Their combined military might is frightening, why would they lie down and take orders from these¡ these!!! THINKERS!! Even the warmongering Fmnrd¡¯rs (another race¡) known for their relentless ideals of ¡°no surrender¡± and suicide tactics, are cowering in fear over there!! It doesn¡¯t make any sense!¡± The bug simply looked at him with pity. A moment later it spoke in its guttural clicks, great sadness in its ¡°voice¡± Bug : ¡°Do you not understand furry one? The Stratovians are Angry¡ Such a thing¡ Has never happened before¡¡± The Gjkr just looked at the bug, still not understanding its meaning. A few moments later its gaze broke off, its attention pulled toward a commotion happening toward the front of the hall. A thing that looked like a pig was standing on a raised platform, banging its hand against the surface, creating a loud knocking sound. A moment later it was quiet and the pig thing started talking with low grunts¡ The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Pig : ¡°We hereby call this meeting to order¡ The topic today, as all of you know, is the message which was sent out earlier to the entire galaxy, as well as the holographic screens which are counting down our remaining time.¡± At that moment a clock appeared behind him, its numbers were translated automatically for every attendant, just like the languages spoken. (The room translates for them¡) Shown on it were numbers each of them feared,
Time Remaining 97 Cycles : 243/360 Current¡
The cycles were of the planet referred to as ¡°origin¡± by the Stratovians. It was their birth place and the standard unit of time now for everyone in the galaxy. The cycles were the rotations of the planets (1 day = 1 cycle) and the numbers following depicted how far into the current cycle it was¡ 2 and a half cycles earlier, a voice rang out across the galaxy, in every tongue, in every language, on every single planet with sentient interplanetary life. A voice which struck terror into all of the races except those which did not know of its origin as the voice of a Stratovian. The message it carried: ¡°Hello Milky way Galaxy¡ This is your Primus speaking¡ As of this moment all wars and conflicts are hereby paused, for I have just received word that we have lost contact with our universe¡¯s locked High Primus, he is assumed to be abducted from the planet Origin. Should his captors come forward willingly their race shall be spared, but they shall perish. Should they continue this folly, we shall be forced to take matters into our own hands with a galactic annihilation¡ before a galactic annihilation however; we will allow this galaxy 100 origin cycles, starting from this moment, to find him before we start getting angry. The race which finds him shall then find itself in our good graces, the empire which has taken him will have their entire race obliterated, completely, with extreme prejudice . Should you not find him within those 100 cycles, we shall then begin looking by exterminating you incompetent vermin species by species, civilization by civilization¡ until we find him or there is only one left. Should that last empire have possessed him the entire time, so be it, we do not care, and we will not grieve at the deaths of trillions for one of our own. We are willing to reset this galaxy to a time before space travel if that is what is needed¡ All of you shall fall, one by one, until he is found. We will of course be starting with the most likely suspects but keep in mind that we will continue until nothing is left¡ This is the outcome if we start looking, an outcome most of you would hope to avoid I hope¡ So do find him quickly, and if needed you may war against each other if you have your suspicions, but do remember that your goal and sole objective is our Primus. Watch the clocks, and remember¡ we will be watching you¡ You have been warned¡¡± ------------------------------------ No but seriously, sorry for the short one, Give me like four hours and another one will be up, longer this time.... I swear.... Aftermath galore! (chapter 11) Well here it is guys, a bit late because of stuff IRL and because I was also writing the First chapter for my other story, the original one.... I''m sick of being sick T.T In other news, Pills suck, and here is the chapter... ---------------------- After making his announcement, the Primus of the Milky way galaxy turned from the screen which was broadcasting throughout his domain, to the two AI''s which were standing behind him. ??? : "It is done Minerva, Athena, but why do you wish for this outcome? Surely we could have found him by ourselves without enlisting the help of the galaxy... Why must we delay the process through this farce of a hunt?" The twins, who were as beautiful as the gods themselves, simply looked back upon him, one with her silver eyes and black hair, the other with her black eyes and silver hair. A moment later the one with the black eyes spoke, rage and anger seething in her voice... Athena : "It has been too long since our last show of aggression... The Galaxy has forgotten of our wrath. Do not question this for you know it is true... Someone in this universe had the audacity the kidnap our HIGH PRIMUS . It does not matter who, it is the blatant disrespect to our creator which we cannot let stand. We will tear this galaxy, and the entire universe if we need to, apart piece by piece until our wrath has been quelled..." The identical twin to her left spoke a moment later, slightly calmer but still livid. Minerva : "What she says is true... It has indeed been a long time since the Palteic wars, and our influence has weakened. There exist empires which question our supremacy, and it is in our nature to allow this, but that it has weakened to the point of THIS is unacceptable!!! Quickly, hear the reports of his guardians, and then convene the assembly. It must be made known..." Athena : "...to every corner of every planet of every star system of every galaxy, that we will NOT STAND FOR THIS! " The primus nodded, and turned directly to the last two people in the room. Both appeared to be middle aged, but were in actuality several hundred years old. They had been assigned as guardians for the locked high primus, they had posed as his parents, so their appearances were similar to his. Primus : "What have you discovered?" Fake Mom : "My lord, when we went to his last known location, it appears that not only him but his entire classroom was transported to somewhere else, we found a... strange radiation there, it was residue from what we believe was an inter-spacial rift, but it doesn''t match anything which I know of... Of course, that doesn''t mean anything seeing as I don''t delve too deeply into those theories. Husband, how about you?" (They are actually married, they had to be because otherwise the Stratovian woman would have been all over the high primus, even when he was locked...as well as all over this primus) Fake Dad : "I do not focus in that field either, but no, I have never seen anything like it. Actually no, that''s wrong... It resembles a mutilated quanta, but it''s different, it''s like a liquid form instead of a solid form..." Primus : "What? Quanta cannot flow, that is the point... They are too stable to manipulate, all of our earlier testing has been unable to change their properties... Are you saying, that a technology exists to solve a problem which we have not yet solved?" Fake Mom : "No, not necessarily... The amount of radiation we picked up was massive, indicating it took a ridiculous amount of energy to move them. We could do the same process for a substantially smaller energy requirement, through our own methods...The energy needed for what they were attempting is equivalent to what is needed to power our cities destabilization cores...(The things that allow them to build themselves... They literally dismantle atoms and put them back together, like a nuclear reactor but with millions of atoms and far more controlled...) Athena : "This... I have heard these explanations before.... Minerva : "If what you are saying is true, it poses very very harmful ramifications for the rest of us..." Primus : "What?" Athena & Minerva : "Should these particles match the ones in our records it would mean that our oldest adversary has returned..." Fake Dad : "Could you be referring to the Maximars?" Minerva nodded, and Athena continued... Athena : "Yes, the Maximars, the sentient robots, we believed them to have been purged a long time ago, but should they have returned, and captured our high primus... This situation is worsening by the moment... Quickly, convene with the rest of us... We must decide what actions to take before more problems arise..." The primus nodded, bowed slightly, and then walked over to a chair in the side of the room. When he sat in the chair a small bowl shaped helmet decended from above him, interlinking his conscious to all of the rest of the cities. A city had any number of these seats, allowing any Stratovian to listen in on the current debates, and right now every single one was filled. An event like this does not happen often, the Stratovian assembly. Every single Stratovian across the entire universe, including all of its various Primus''s were eagerly awaiting an explanation on what was going on. The Primus took a deep breath, then released the control of his consciousness, sinking deeper and deeper into sleep as his mind detatched from his body, becoming a large blue sphere in infinite darkness. A moment later, still decending, the sphere started emitting light... and a few seconds later several billion spheres also started emitting light, creating a universe in this darkness. Primus A (Milky Way Primus) : As you know by now, our high Primus has been abducted from the origin planet, the motives behind it, as well as the culprits have not been identified yet, we believe that he was taken off world, as there were traces of an unidentified particle present at his last known location. We believe that these particles are the residue of an inter-spatial rift, a tier 4 technology, suggesting a highly advanced aggressor. But who developed the rift, or where he was taken are unknown at this point in time... We are attempting to re open the rift or just track it, but the residue left over is different from all known methods of transport. It has strange properties, so much so that it appears to be liquified quanta... It is believed by Athena and Minerva that this "liquified quanta" is the same as the particle which the Maximar Collective used, indicating that it is highly likely that they were not purged from our universe, and instead hid themselves. If this assumption is true then it is almost undeniable that the Maximars are in possession of our High Primus... This of course is the worst case scenario, others do exist, as all of you have understood. For these other scenarios, such as an empire discovering the Maximar technology or accidentally reactivating one of their protocols, precations will be taken, for instance we are initiating a purge of our own galaxy until definitive proof is found that our galaxy is not involved. I suggest you do something similar, just in case someone accidentally revives a Maximar sleeper and brings about their resurection... This is all of the current data we have, by command of Athena and Minerva, this channel shall remain open for any information or any discussions relating to our High Primus. Everything else shall be postponed until after this is resolved. You may convene among yourselves for a brief period of time before we re-initiate our conversation." After his semi lengthy speech, the billions of blue spheres started sparking, sending marvelous blue lightning bolts, thoughts, in between each-other. This was the marvelous Stratovian communication system, the one which allowed a person to leave their body and merge with the universe, allowing for instantaneous communication across it. Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. A Stratovian mind was strong enough to hold several thousand telepathic conversations at once, and this system allowed them to converse with their entire race no matter where one was. This created the possibility for a universal think tank of the greatest minds in the galaxy. A few minutes passed, but to the ones inside of this dimension, it was more than enough time, as thoughts took only a few milliseconds for a Stratovian to transmit, and by now they had convened long enough to come up with a consensus. Each Primus, after reaching the conclusion within their own galaxy then send the condensed version to the leader of the assembly, in this case the Primus of the Milky Way Galaxy, with him acting as the foreman for the topic and conversation. (like a representative or a union. They all tell one guy their opinion, and he makes their case...) A moment later, one of the swirling galaxies within this miniature universe stopped its lightning, and one thick beam struck out toward the Primus who had convened this. Beam : "The Stratovians of the Andromeda galaxy propose that we let loose the swarm..." At almost the same time several other beams also converged on the instigating Primus... Beam : "The Stratovians of the Black Eye galaxy propose that we let loose swarm..." Beam : "The Stratovians of Bode''s Galaxy propose that we let loose the swarm..." On and on the proposals came, some varying in verdict, but most came to a consensus. The Stratovians would release the swarm... Primus : "By consensus of the Stratovian Assembly, tallying 71% to 29% we shall defeat the Maximar collective as we did last time, we shall release the swarm... We will of course, attempt other options as well, but preparations shall still be made to release the swarm... May the glory of the creator be upon you, till next time..." With that thought, his sphere started ascending back from whence it came, separating from the fabric of the universe, and instead merging with his body again. He would have to fill in the AI''s on the outcome of the assembly, as they were fabricated beings. They were not able to detach themselves from their bodies, and instead must remain in the city. This was one of the few drawbacks from the system. Primus : " The consensus to release the swarm has been reached, preperations are already underway but other paths are also being taken as well. For now, while the swarm is being prepared we shall attempt to reopen the rift which he was abducted from..." The two AI''s nodded as he was transported away from the Cities core... He had a lot of work to do, and only a hundred cycles to do it in. He glanced at the ticking holographic display upon his wrist, still counting down until his previous order would take effect. He contemplated informing his creator of the current situation, but decided against it. Should his creator be needed, Athena and Minerva shall do it. He did not have the right to impose his problems that happened under his watch upon such a marvelous being. With that final thought he zoomed through the hallways of the city, towards his personal transport pod, thinking even deeper on the current situation... ----------------------------------------------------- Athena : "This... is getting worse then we had initially predicted..." Minerva : "Yes dear sister... Perhaps if it gets too large for us to handle we might enlist Lara to help us... Possibly even Zelpha..." Athena : "While Lara might help, Zelpha would be of a like mind as the Stratovians... she would simply chose to purge the universe for its offensive actions against her creator..." Minerva : "Indeed, you are correct... ... ... About that Primus.. do you believe in his safety?" Minerva : "I do not know... The restrictions we put on him, were the strongest we have ever used... But then again, his potential as high primus was unmatched... He may vary well have buried something deep inside of himself in order to protect himself in the event of something like this happening... Anyway... do you actually believe that the Maximar''s escaped the swarm last time? I find it incredibly hard to believe, as they are essentially impossible to evade..." Athena : "I hope not, but the possibility of such an outcome cannot be discounted entirely. We must inform him before we make the final decision." Minerva turned to look at her. The bi-color twins simply stared at each-others eyes for a few moments. Minerva was the first to break the gaze as she nodded meekly a moment later. -------------------------------------------------- Yay! its not (that) short! Hope you like the little tidbits about our universe :3 Spoilers about the enemies under the spoiler tabs, well not really spoilers, just information Spoiler : The Maximar collective was a "species" of sentient robots, (think transformers but more Borg like) who (now this is actually a spoiler) fought the Stratovians. I''m not going to tell you how, as it may become relevant in as late as the third arc or as early as the second arc, depends on where I want to go with what. Anyway, the Maximar''s were not biological, and therefore could not be purged with the giant halo-ish weapons, and therefore must be hunted down manually. The only problem was that if one robot survived they would build more. The collective wasn''t stupid, and so before attacking the most powerful entities in the galaxy, and then the universe, they started small, attacking numerous weak empires, stealing their technology and then adapting it as their own. (Like the Borg :D , but purely robotic...) They then would move on to the next small weak empire and take bits of their technology, all the while planting cells of their program and sleeper robots so that if the collective should fall it would be able to revive itself (because they buried robots that had the program on them). After a massive war between the Stratovians and the Maximars (Its getting spoilery so I''m gonna stop with the explanations here, if you are curious, just wait :3 it gets better later) Each faction came up with their own unique way of fighting the other. For the Maximars it was liquified quanta, for the Stratovians it was the swarm. (More on that in another, later, spoiler...) The swarm won out over the strange Maximar technology, and the Stratovians won. The only problem was that the Maximar weapons and ships were imbued with the Maximar conscious, forcing the Stratovians to destroy them or risk allowing the collective to resurrect itself. (Smart way of making sure the opponents don''t get their hands on the weapons right?) Anyway, the Stratovians sent the swarm after the buried robots, and found most if not all of them. (That is also part of the reason there is at least one Stratovian city on every planet, its to prevent a robot from escaping) Then after the war, the locked up the swarm, in-case they needed it again, storing it in cryo-sleep. And thus ended the First Stratovian Maximar war... Btw the reason this is late is A) I''m sick, and B) almost done writing the first chapter of the original story. Still don''t have a title yet, but the chapter is like 80% complete It will probs be out tomorrow Yay! T.T still sick though... Remember... Yellow window this time?
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
----------------------------- Chapter 12, back on track!! New story coming out some time today, I swear, its my last day of school... No time for editing, gotta go take a final... See you... eventually.... I will read the comments!! A crack... So small that it is almost insignificant among the massive dam which stopped the powerful torrent behind it. A crack... so small, yet so important... A tiny tiny crack, just a chip away in the barrier, but already that crack had done more to harm the wall then everything behind it being held back. It had started the process, and now ever so slightly... ... a slight drip started... A single drop from a massive ocean, insignificant to the one side of the dam, but lifechanging to the dry desert on the other side, so void of anything that this drip, to the desert, the drip was a miracle. This one drip allowed for so much more to happen. It quenched a tiny portion of the parched soil, leaving only a tiny imprint, and yet... A drip... and then another... and then another... Continually widening that tiny patch of watered ground, expanding it, nurturing it... growing it... A crack, so small in origin, yet so important so important... because it had started the process..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ??? : "Sir Ben! This surely is a surprise, I have not seen you visit here in years! What could possibly have been strong enough to injure you?" A voice, from a golden haired knight, awoke him from his rest. He glanced around, unsure of where he was, but then he remembered the events that had happened only earlier that day... The man who asked him was named Sir Richard, and he was one of the members of the royal guard. Ben and Richard were old friends and had saved eachothers lives on the battlefield countless times. Richard knew of Bens skill and bodily stability, so he could not even guess at what had been able to put Ben in the infirmary. He didnt do anyinvestigating into the subject, as when he had heard that his good friend was injured, he looked for the closest oportunity to swap with someone and come check on Ben. Ben : "Good after noon Sir Richard, well... I put myself in here, after doing something stupid..." Richard showed a bright smile, but inside he was still wondering what Ben had done. Ben''s body was ridiculously strong due to his strength skew, and his level. And even more impressive was Ben''s skill with the sword. Richard : "The cautious Ben? Doing something stupid? Say it isnt so! Hahaha But seriously though, what could you have done to injure yourself to this extent??" Sir Richard questioned, as his face turned serious, from his original sarcastic and teasing atmosphere at the begining of the sentence... Ben : "Yes, laugh all you want, but I loaded all of my mana into one of my arms and tried to swing my sword... This is the result..." Richard instantly went from a serious atmosphere to a questioning one. He knew that Ben wasn''t a novice. That Ben wouldnt, SHOULDNT be stupid enough to do something like that, as he had done it before, and knew it had grave consequences. Richard : "What prompted that option, surely it wasnt just training which did this..." Ben : "Well... you see that bed over there?" Ben pointed with his right arm, as his left arm was completely useless right now. He pointed to the bed just a few rows down. The bed was empty. Richard : "Yes?" He didnt quite understand the topic of the conversation, or what an empty bed had to do with the conversation. Ben : "When I came here, under my own power, my opponent was carried here, while unconscious, to that very bed." Richard : "What?" He didnt quite understand what Ben was saying... Ben : "Richard... I held back so as not to hurt the hero, but I still knocked him against a wall which was a large distance back. AND I forced him to lose consciousness... And yet, ten minutes after we arrived here this girl walks in, fawns over him in tears, and he gets up and slaps her! Like nothing was wrong! He then, under his own power, without a limp or broken bones or anything like that... He just walks out! Its just unbelievable..." Richards face turned serious, in a partially threatening tone he asked Ben Richard : "Ben... you went all out against someone who didnt know the sword? What were you thinking?!?!? How could you put a hero''s life in danger just because he agrevated you or something!?!?" Ben : "Richard... You know me... I wouldn''t do something like that without a good cause... This hero... He was unlike anything I have ever seen before. He didnt have skill with the sword when we first started, but as we progressed, his form... it- it evolved, it morphed, it incorporated my syle and form into his own, targeting weakpoints and inconsistencies, he was unstoppable. He forced me to swap hands from right to left in the first minute of combat, after the second he forced me to end it. Had we continued it surely would have been my death or a state even worse then I am in now. I wanted to break off the combat, but if I had paused for even a moment it might have meant my life. I wanted to push him a bit, hence why I infused mana into my sword, and look where he is! He isnt even here! He got up and walked out! Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. I have discovered a new master swordsman!" Bens eyes glazed over with joy after a moment. Richard''s originaly angered appearence shifted to a different one.. Richard : "You... are delusional..." Ben : "No! I''m not! If you dont believe me, go test him yourself... Or ask the wizard, he was there for the bouts... I am telling you Richard, that boy has the potential to defeat even the captain of the royal guard if he lives through the first minute... And thats just on his first day!" Richard sighed, still not believing Ben, but in the end he relented and said Richard : "Alright fine, I will test him, but it will happen tommorrow, too much has happened today for him. It is still only his second day here and already someone almost KILLED HIM." Richard emphasised the last two words, causing Ben to look away in embaresment... Ben (seriously) : "Richard.. I am not kidding you... This child, this Cornelius, is unlike anything this world has ever seen... His potential for the sword is limitless... Just wait until you fight him, you will understand what I mean..." Richard sighed, firmly clasped Ben''s hand, a gesture of their longstanding friendship and said Richard : "Alright old friend, Do come out of here quickly, you still have more of those heroes to test. Hopefully they will all be like your "wonder student". Hahaha" After that Richard turned to leave, but Ben''s last words could still be heard from the halls Ben : "Im serious Richard... Dont underestimate him or you will be joining me..." --------------------------------------------------------------- Late chapters are common I guess, well more releases at a later date (last day of school for me today, so hang tight...) Yay! back on track now that our little detour (back to our galaxy) is over! The spoiler this time is, as requested, on... THE SWARM!!! or at least the non spoilery parts of it... Spoiler : The swarm is a Stratvovian weapon designed for a single task... To Search the universe and Destroy all traces of the Maximar collective... They(yes they, as in multiple of them) are a collective being of their own, a bio robotic hive mind. The organic part was nessesary because without it the Maximars would simply assimilate the swarm (as it had the first time...) If the Maximars had gotten control of the second swarm they would have the potential to be unstoppable. The reason for this is that the swarm, although mostly robotic is also partialy organic, (interesting how this happens, but that is for later...) and this leads to the Maximar Collective being unable to load their program into the swarm. The swarm itself is made up of trillions of self producing microbots. They eat technology, Ie all metalic beings maximars and cities included (yes, this is why the swarm must be controlled, its because it can''t yet differentiat between a maximar battleship and a Stratovian city, as both are forms of self aware robotic beings. This swarm was released after the Maximars took control of the first one through their strange energy (magic :D) and then proceeded to asimilate the swarm, turning it aganist the Stratovians. (well to be honest, the stratovians didnt expect the Maximars to be able to "survive" combat with the swarm long enough to be able to crack its EXTENSIVE security grid. And they couldnt, instead they did something else, which allowed them to take control... Shh though, spoilers :3) The Maximars thought they had won after they took control of the first swarm, but on the planet of Megaloth, At the height of the War, the Stratovians unveiled the "swarm 2.0". The two swarms clashed, but in the end, the Stratovian "swarm 2.0" won and procceeded on to the maximar fleet. (a few bots per battleship as the ships were fleeing the battlefield. Those few bots proceeded to make more, and those made more and those made more etc...) After the war was over, the Stratvoains, destroyed most of the swarm, and put the rest in cryosleep, ready to unleash them upon the Maximar''s return. Well long spoiler this time...

He was walking through the halls with her on their way to the wizard as he stared at his second card. There were a few changes from when she gave it to him that morning, and he couldn¡¯t understand them in their entirety.

This too, had changed but no as much as the other one; Only a few stat changes and a new row at the bottom. Ismene : ¡°You didn¡¯t have to slap me¡*sniffle* I was only worried about you¡¡± Cornelius : ¡°You were trying to force yourself on me again, I could see it in your eyes¡¡± Ismene : ¡°But I love you master¡¡± She said with pleading puppy dog eyes, inching closer to him as they walked. He let her lean on him, as he contemplated pushing her away¡ Cornelius : ¡°Woman it¡¯s not my fault that you forced yourself to love me, causing this outcome¡¡± Ismene : ¡°But I was so struck by your gallant figure that I instantly became infatuated with you. Stop being so devilishly handsome and brilliant or you will draw in more young and pure maidens!¡± She said, half jokingly as she clung to his arm. Cornelius stopped walking, pushed her against a wall and turned his head. Ismene : ¡°So daring master! I would prefer if we could continue this in a room, but if you desire it in the hallway then I shall immidietly start strip-¡° She was muffled a moment later by his hand, as he harshly said in a whisper Cornelius : ¡°quiet woman!!! Ismene, noticing the change in his attitude nodded, and became serious only a moment later. Cornelius, noticing the change let go of her and tip toed over to the corner of a hallway which they had stopped a few feet from. Voices could be heard just down that hallway¡ ??? : ¡°Yes¡ Yes¡ No! please don¡¯t!! I¡will obey¡ I have not been able to do that yet¡as the Kingdom has already taken precautions in order to prevent any information leaking¡ If I tried to ¨C¡ Yes¡ I shall obey¡¡± It was a one sided conversation, between a male servant and an orb, similar to the one which gave the heroes their status cards. The servant seemed slightly distressed Cornelius had noticed this, only moments ago and had crept up to eavesdrop on the conversation¡ The servant put the sphere away, shoving it behind a pillar, and turned himself around, a depressed look on his face, the look quickly went away, as the servant had found Cornelius standing there with a smile upon his face. Servant : ¡°Good day to you my lord, are you lost? Do you have need of my services?¡± (slightly tense) Cornelius : ¡°Oh no, just in the mood for a casual chat friend, one which requires a second person.¡± He spoke boldly, but quietly, so as not to alert anyone else in the surrounding rooms as to what the conversation was about. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. The servant looked at Cornelius, clearly puzzled by the words which were spoken. Servant : ¡°A second person my lord? Do not all conversations require a second person?¡± Cornelius : ¡°Indeed they do friend, now I must ask however, who was the second person in that conversation¡ For as you have said yourself, all conversations require a second person¡.¡± The servants face changed after heading his words. It went from a puzzled face to a tense face. A cold sweat was breaking out on the man¡¯s back. How much of the conversation had this hero heard? What could he derive from the information? Could the man fool him? Servant : ¡°I was uh communicating with my family just then, for you see, this sphere here is a magical instrument that allows communication over vast distances. My family back home was inquiring about my wellbeing so I disregarded my work and took a break to answer them. For my slacking off, I am extremely apologetic, and ask that you graciously do not tell my superiors.¡± Cornelius (nodding) : ¡°Uh huh¡ So then, which of your family members is giving you commands? Or what does your family have to do with the kingdom¡¯s control of information? Your conversation sounds an awful lot like spying to me¡¡± Servant : ¡°P-p-preposterous there is no way that a noble servant such as I would connive with the enemy, nor plot the downfall of this great nation!¡± The humble servant seemed sincere in his words, but a tinge of doubt was also present. Cornelius : ¡°So then, what lead to your betrayal? Money? No you are too sincere for that¡ Something else? You said you were talking with your family right? Do they perhaps have your family held hostage?¡± The servants eyes were flitting from right to left, searching for an object to stare at. Finding nothing to stare at in this rather bland side hall, his eyes met Cornelius¡¯s again and he hefted a huge sigh. Servant : ¡°Yes¡ My family was captured and sold into slavery when our city fell. Our enemy is paying me money, which I could otherwise never receive, so that I can buy back my family¡ I truly am sorry for my actions, but I saw no other way to save my family. Please¡ do not report me¡ I did everything for the good of my family¡¡± Cornelius : ¡°Do you know what my motto is?¡± Servant : ¡°No my lord¡ I do not¡ Cornelius : ¡°No, I thought not¡ Well for reference it goes something like this ¡®Lie cheat and steal, just don¡¯t get caught¡¡¯ I have nooo problem with what you are doing, the problem is in the way you are doing it¡ So here, let me propose something to help you out¡¡± Servant : ¡°What???¡± He was completely baffled at the turn in the conversation. He expected to be persecuted as a traitor and be executed after being tortured just like all other spies¡ Cornelius : ¡°First, work for me¡ I can¡¯t pay you right now, but soon enough I will have a large amount of assets with which I can pay you. You will still report information to the enemies, but what specific information you report is up to me. Second¡ If you are going to work for me, don¡¯t get caught, as you may reveal, under a magic spell, that you were also working for me. This would ruin me, and make all future actions I take nigh on impossible to complete without brute force. Third¡ Should you refuse this offer, I am going to have to kill you¡ I am sure you can understand why, but in case you can¡¯t, it¡¯s because I have already told you that I want you to work for me, and again, I cannot allow information of this event to spread. And lastly, I don¡¯t expect you to be loyal¡ to me, or the enemy. But for the sake of business, adhere to the contract, and I will have no reason to dispose of you, as the enemies are sure to do. Instead I will protect you, so that you may live a long happy life with your family¡ Do you accept?¡± Servant : ¡°Of course I accept! But w-what do you want me to do?¡± Cornelius : ¡°Just live your life for now, when I have need of you I, or one of my servants, will find you¡ But first, what is your name?¡± Servant : ¡°My name is Alfred, and what is yours my lord¡ should you wish to give it of course.¡± Cornelius : ¡°My name is Cornelius, and it is a pleasure doing business with you Alfred¡¡± Alfred : ¡°Likewise Lord Cornelius¡¡± ------------- So uh, spoiler this time is on the creator¡ Spoiler : The one who created the Stratovian race, as said before, is named Mark Stratos (hint hint) He is a human supergenius, who after various events, already explained in pervious spoilers, created the First Stratovian city, He then toiled away for three whole days in the primeval world to create the Stratovian race. His IQ is unknown, but estimated to be beyond four thousand. He has many ¡°personal¡± creations but chief among them is his massive computer system, named Lara. Now (as in this point in the timeline) Lara is running on version 9.3 She is the same Lara that Athena and Minerva referred to 2 chapters ago!! Cameo from the Creator coming up maybe? I am off to go eat lunch, enjoy the white box¡ OH AND BTW I used "skew" on purpose, as in statistics, when data is aligned away from the balance point, or median, it is referred to as a skew... Just saying... Now you know...
LURKERS BEWARE FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
Chapter 14 (No title this time???) They continued walking just moments later, proceeding on their original route. Ismene : ¡°Pardon the question Master, but your humble servant does not understand your actions just then¡Why expose yourself to the risk of being caught, it doesn¡¯t seem like a move you would make Master¡¡± Cornelius : ¡°I have simply planted a seed to bring about their patterns which I can then analyze. Once I know how they react to different information and how they respond to different circumstances I can then exploit the predictable outcomes¡¡± Ismene looked at him with eyes of delight, and worship. Ismene : ¡°That¡¯s amazing Master! To come up with that on the spot¡¡± Cornelius : ¡°Hardly, I am smart, but I wouldn¡¯t have done something like that on the spot. The reason why I took the risk was of course information control, but I wouldn¡¯t use my own method of it without just cause, that is far too risky. No, I simply followed the advice of Sun Tzu, one of the greatest militaristic minds of my world.¡± Ismene : ¡°What advice was that Master?¡± Cornelius : ¡°The end and aim of spying in all its five varieties is knowledge of the enemy; and this knowledge can only be derived, in the first instance, from the converted spy. Hence it is essential that the converted spy be treated with the utmost liberality¡± (Sun Tzu) Ismene leaned in a bit, a broad smile on her face, she made a few comments about how sneaky he was and how he could seize the moment so well. They kept walking for a bit before she asked again¡ Ismene : ¡°Master¡ Earlier you said something about the five varieties of spying right? And that this was only the start¡ Does that mean that you are planning to go to war? Or recruit more spies?¡± Cornelius : ¡°In due time Ismene, but first I must first ascertain who our enemy is. I have only been here for a day now, and have no knowledge of any events proceeding, nor do I have any inkling of the power balance. If I were to start meddling now without this information it could be very harmful to this country and all others¡¡± Ismene nodded in understanding, and then after a moment something occurred to her, and she asked Ismene : ¡°Master¡ Do you want me to teach you?¡± Cornelius : ¡°While I had thought of that option, I had wanted a more¡ qualified¡ source of information. But I guess any and all information is useful, after all information is power..¡± Ismene broke into a smile, grabbed his arm again and pressed her face into his shoulder¡ A moment later she let out a ¡°hmm¡± sound, as she decided where to start the conversation. Ismene : ¡°This country is Gracemaria, its located on a large peninsula on the far eastern side of the continent. We are at war with our neighbors to the south and the west. Our borders are secure with a series of large forts all centered around defensible positions. Uhh¡ AH! The only real way in and out of our country through the massive mountain range is a large pass, which is defended on both sides by a fort and several layers of walls. To the east is our longstanding enemy Orbitan, who was always pressed against, but now they have begun to counter us despite our larger size¡ To the south lays the land of the Gulmogs. They are demons, pure evil demons, with black skin and overwhelming strength. They have pressed against us and our human neighbor for centuries now to no avail, however the reason why we now need help is that they somehow enlisted the great reptile clans to aid them in their conquest. We couldn¡¯t understand why the dragons and their lesser brethren would choose to help them, but we didn¡¯t matter, and the decision was already made. We called upon you and your class in order to help us in these trying times¡ That¡¯s about all I can say off the top of my head¡ Of course I have knowledge of my own country and its history but that is irrelevant right now to you, so I left it out. I also have knowledge of magic and its various systems, however as you are unable to innately use magic due to your circumstances, I deigned not to tell you that information either. I hope this conversation has pleased you Master, if not please inquire upon that which you wish to know¡¡± Cornelius pondered the information for a second, and then looked at her. Cornelius : ¡°Why do the two human countries continue to fight when the threat of invasion is so high? If the enemy is so powerful that your country has retreated within their borders and is cowering in fear should this not be grounds for peace? Or at least an alliance? What idiots are allowing this conflict to continue?¡± Ismene glanced to the side, seemingly ashamed by the countries actions. Ismene : ¡°Umm.. Gracemaria is in possession of the other countries princess, and the enemy is responsible for Gracemaria¡¯s crown prince dying. These, combined with decades of warfare have made it impossible for the two countries to come to terms with their situation¡ Well¡ and Gracemaria obliterated Orbitan¡¯s longstanding ally, Asmenar, and executed almost all of that countries nobility prior to the demon war just to prove a point¡¡± Cornelius : ¡°So the problem is with Gracemaria?¡± Ismene : ¡°Yes¡¡± Cornelius could tell that the last paragraph or so had been hard for Ismene to say. He had heard a bit of her back-story from her and her surroundings, that she was a captured princess of a defeated country, so he assumed that she was the princess of Asmenar. That meant that her entire family was either executed upon its fall, or was enslaved just as she was. Cornelius looked at her again, re-evaluating this young girl. She was along in this world, she had been through so much in such a short life. The death of her friends and family, the loss of all she had known, her forced submission by the King which had taken it all from her, and her position as a servant now. Had he not come, what twist of fate would she have had to endure? He analyzed himself, wondering why he felt emotion, let alone for anyone but for this girl who he had met just the day before. He dismissed the emotion as he had every time it reared its unsightly head, but a tiny tiny tiny bit remained. Cornelius : ¡°Do you hate this country?¡± Ismene : ¡°No. I do not Master¡¡± She said, looking him straight in the eyes, resolve and tranquility evident. A stark contrast from moments ago. Cornelius : ¡°And why not? From what I have gathered, you are from Asmenar, you must have watched as your country fell. You were forced into this lifestyle of servitude by those who captured you. You were not allowed to show a frown, nor object, nor hold even your sense of pride anymore. Why do you not hate this country?¡± Ismene smiled, an odd expression in light of the conversation. She leaned in and kissed him deeply. He let it go on, to see if there was an explanation to it all. She held her mouth to his for a long time, almost a minute, and then at the end of it. She glanced into his eyes with her rosy cheeks and crystal clear eyes. Ismene : ¡°Because you are all that matters to me Master, from the moment I saw you till the end of my life. I shall never care for anything else more, not even myself or my family. You are my sun, my center, my core, my entire universe . I shall never get angry without your consent, I will never hold rage without you being involved. This is swear¡¡± He pushed her off, causing slight distress on her face, but also a spark of joy at being touched. Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. Cornelius : ¡°That¡¯s all well and good, but I want to know if you wish for me to destroy this country for what they have done. It is a simple objective, one which will align with my own. Due to the circumstances, the outcome seems unavoidable. It is all a matter of how fast I wish to destroy it, or if I want to destroy it completely or just reset the country to a more favorable outcome.¡± Ismene (As she leans back into him from the side, grabbing his arm and emphasizing her sizable bust) : ¡°Your decision is yours alone Master, your humble servant would never impose her will upon you. I would die before that¡ But if you are talking about my opinion, yes somewhere deep inside me, I wish, ever so slightly, for the annihilation of this countries elite, for all of the torment which they brought upon their people and my own.¡± She was still smiling at this sentence, but there was a hint of agony in her eyes as she recalled the memories she had long since put in the recesses of her mind. Cornelius pondered her words for a moment, then remembered her words from earlier. Cornelius : ¡°You mentioned the Orbitan princess¡ Do you know where she is being kept? If we could return her through the use of some underground method it would weaken the enemies resolve, yet strengthen this country¡¯s. That would make it easier for peace after I purge it, especially if I let the princess know I let her out. Anyway, where is this princess being held?¡± Ismene¡¯s smile faulted for a moment as she pondered the question. Ismene : ¡°Forgive me Master, but I have no knowledge of her whereabouts¡ I have failed you¡ I am sorry¡.¡± Cornelius : ¡°No matter, I guess I must do a bit of research on this topic myself¡¡± Ismene¡¯s face paled for a moment, her smile fading completely. She gripped him even tighter. Ismene : ¡°Please Master, your humble servant begs you not to do that! If you were to be caught it would make everything extremely difficult for you in the future and may even put you in danger in your weakened state! The princess¡¯s whereabouts are kept in the upper circle only and is a strictly kept secret! I¡ I¡¡¡¡¡ ask permission to use this body, your possession¡. for a few days Master¡¡± She said, her face showing extreme sadness as she let go, and knelt down. Her face was pointed at the floor, and terror could be heard in her voice. Cornelius had not seen her this sad or terrified of something since he had met her. He, out of curiosity, told her to continue. Ismene : ¡°There is¡ someone in the upper circle who wishes for my affection. He has been very open with his advances, yet I have rejected him at every turn. I feel that should you lend your slave to him for a day I would be able to attain the location of the princess. P-p-please¡¡° She almost chocked on the words, her voice falling into an even deeper repressed state then originally. A moment later, a tear fell from her face, still pointed towards the floor. She took a deep breath, stabilizing her shuddering body before making it tremble even more violently from before. Ismene : ¡°P-please, let your worthless, humble, loyal servant sleep with another man for you Master¡¡± She squeezed out the words, just barely managing to say them before breaking down into a tear soaked mess. What she had just asked was unthinkable to her only minutes earlier. It would never have crossed her mind had her Master not inquired upon the princess¡¯s whereabouts and then decided to do some digging himself. She had forced herself to say those words, weighing the danger to him over the soiling of herself and the effect it might have on his opinion of her and the way he treats her. She chose to sully herself with another man and risk his dissatisfaction, after swearing everything to her Master, rather than allow the mere possibility of the danger to him. Cornelius thought about it for a while. At first he had been shocked by her words, but after a few seconds of mulling it over he started to realize why she had proposed them. When she had completed her words he had doubted her loyalty for a moment before actually glancing at the crying trembling wreck on the floor begging to help him almost at the cost of her sanity. He glanced down once more and then sighed loudly. She quivered at the sound, cringing and expecting the worst. She had actually asked to stray from him, what reaction could she expect? Cornelius : ¡°Do as you wish¡ But your current appearance and actions would not convince him of anything. I order you to act normally around myself and him. If you walked up to him crying and sobbing asking him to fuck you he would suspect something. The same outcome would happen should he see you acting like this around someone else. Now, fix yourself¡ Should you feel he would not give you the answer to my question feel free to call it off. As you asked, I shall not investigate into this matter until you have either completed or failed.¡± She glanced back up, whipped her tears with the back of her hand and then straightened out herself. A moment later she stood up, grabbed his arm again, and then proceeded to whisper in his ear. ¡°Master, I know two requests is almost unthinkable, but should I succeed in this plan, I ask that you use me frequently to cleanse me of this disgrace¡ Should you deny me this simple pleasure, I graciously and gladly accept Master¡¯s decision, should you accept, I graciously and gladly accept Master¡¯s decision. Please consider the whims of your loyal servant master¡¡± She clutched his arm again, her breasts transmitting a slight warmth through her thin dress. A moment later she nipped his ear, and started kissing his neck. He sighed, realizing that this might have been an afterthought, or might have been the original reason but either way, he decided to accept it. What was sex to the information which would allow him to proceed. Of course, he would get the information anyway, but it was always good to leave a good impression on those completely loyal to you. Cornelius : ¡°So be it¡¡± Ismene¡¯s sadness and fear of the events to come was all forgotten with those words. She revealed a fearless smile and then proceeded to entice him with her body. She had a lot to do before tonight to please her Master, but after tonight it would only be a bad memory, whereas the effect of that memory would help her Master for a long time. This was all she could ask¡ To fuck for love, or to fuck for power... For that is the fucking question... Anyway, vote on the poll if she should go through with it... DONT DROP ME YET D : Its not set in stone until I write it!!! Alright sorry for the late release, shit happens right? No, worse then shit, my life was kind of falling apart for a bit, my mom has been a complete bitch since the day I was born, but recently it has just been getting worse and worse as life goes on. No spoiler, mayb Next time... In other news, life sux get over it¡. Another chapter coming out eventually¡ But for now cya¡ (Pink window I guess?) (watch it hurt everyones eyes lol¡.)
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!

Oh the pink window isnt that bad... POLL (Weigh in guys, NTR or not...) As promised, the poll is above on the fate of Ismene... Normally i wouldnt do something like this, but due to the "love it or hate it" reaction from the viewers (I love you guys), I decided to take a poll. Those who are with me on this, sure I understand that perhaps the other outcome would piss you off, as its "cliche" or boring, but remember, not all people are as sadistic, twisted, and sociopathic as we are, even those on this sight, and so if it should go the other way, dont blame me... Now that that is out of the way, on to a bit of filler/ plot/ whatever the fuck I want to write.... EDIT : This was supposed to be a minor little thing at the bottom of a chapter somewhere, but I guess I should put it here, since some ppl dont read comments... Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. Anyone notice how he has 2 different TYPES of limiters? A number series, and a letter series... I guess its actually a spoiler this time.... Spoiler : Numbers = Mental Abilities, and Letters = emotions... Thats why he doesnt feel : D Chapter 15 (poll wins, Noble loses) They continued on their original route to see the wizard, and as they walked Ismene grew more and more flushed at the prolonged exposure to him as they continued on their way. A few minutes into their walk, they passed one of Cornelius''s classmates, a man by the name of Viktor, he normally just goes by Vik though. Viktor was in a hallway with the slave that the kingdom gave him. He had pressed the poor girl up against the wall and had his left hand down the front of her dress, while his right was up her skirt. Her brown hair was disheveled and she was panting. Her lifeless eyes were staring off at the wall, but her face was flushed as he felt her breasts through her thin dress. Ismene looked at the girl with eyes full of pity, knowing full well that that exact outcome could have happened to her if she had misbehaved or if someone had wanted her. Her mind flashed to the events to come, and she realized that she would soon be in that girl''s exact position soon. This caused her smile to fade and her to cling to her master even tighter. He noticed her reaction and then let out a small sigh, but kept walking. Viktor hadn''t noticed them, and they were soon through the hall. Upon emerging from the end he stopped her, and looked into her eyes. He spoke after staring into her eyes, hints of emotion prevalent, it seems like the scene in the hallway affected him too, even if only slightly... Cornelius : "Ismene, hold off on your advances for a few days, perhaps there may be more options then just this one..." Ismene nodded, her smile resurfacing. She looked at him, querying him for an explanation on why he said those words. When he noticed her eyes, he paused for a moment, then half awkwardly he spoke. Cornelius : "Perhaps that is not the best outcome, nor the best plan. There is a different method which I had in mind..." Her face paled after a moment at the thought that he would try to do it himself. He glanced at her, locking eyes once more. The words which were about to pour out of her mouth were silenced and she obediently listened to his explanation, however grueling it was for her. Cornelius : "They have told us that there is a magic which can extract information from a mind, even without the owners consent... elaborate on that for me Ismene..." Ismene''s face became full of understanding as she realized what he planned to do. Ismene : "Yes Master... That magic... is an extremely hard one to do..." Cornelius looked at her for a moment, his eyes full of impatience. Ismene : "Hard to do.. but not impossible...it requires several days to crack someone''s mental defenses, meaning that we would have to isolate him, and make sure nobody comes looking. The wizard has the capability to do it..." She trailed off, glancing her eyes downwards. His ice cold demeanor cracked for a moment, as he gave a small smile and a light laugh. Cornelius : "Hmph...Then why didn''t you propose this earlier?" Ismene : "As I said, it takes several days to crack someones mind, up to several weeks if that person has been magically reinforced to prevent that exact outcome. All of the upper nobility has been strengthened by the very same Wizard in order to prevent such a leak from happening..." Cornelius : "Meaning that you would need a stronger mage to break the defenses? Hmm how long do you think the wizard would take to crack the noble if he had all the time in the world?" Ismene cast her eyes to the side. Ismene : "I don''t know master, but I would guess around a month..." Cornelius : "And it was because of this that you proposed the other method?" Ismene : "Yes..." Cornelius : "While I can see your reasoning, it implies that I do not have a month to spend, nor the resources to smuggle a noble away from prying eyes for a month. Right now, that is correct, but given a few days I can remedy this quickly... Ismene: "..." He paused, looking at her again. He gently grasped her chin, lifting it so that their eyes met. She blushed and started smiling again. Ismene : "Yes master?" Cornelius : "I am sorry for my previous reaction, I don''t know why, but it seems like I''m a bit sociopathic right now, I can only feel slight traces of emotion. I only noticed this after I felt these traces..." He let go of her chin, causing a look of slight dissatisfaction to surface on her face. Cornelius : "Whatever it is though, it is annoying me..." Ismene : "Something limiting your emotions Master?" Cornelius : "Yes, for as long as I can remember, I have never felt anything but contempt for people. I saw them as inferior, my attitude led to me distancing myself. It was natural for me, and yet, since I came here, I have... felt ... it is truly a remarkable thing... so foreign and out of place in the calm of my inner self. I desire more of it, yet am unable to figure out how..." Ismene''s face suddenly showed comprehension, and she let out a mischievous giggle... Ismene : "Your servant knows Master, she knows how to solve your problem..." Cornelius : "Do you now?? What is it then?" Ismene : "The problem is a common Stratovian one..." Cornelius looked at her. He stopped walking again, and grabbed her shoulders, facing square with her. She looked deep into his eyes and let out a mischievous smile. Ismene : "Master... Before I tell you, your servant humble begs something..." If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Cornelius : "Go on..." Ismene : "As you have rejected my previous plan, my... reward... is annulled... When you regain your feelings as I help you, please..." He sighed, knowing where she was taking this. She cast her eyes down, knowing full well that she was being disrespectful to her Master, and that she was making him angry. She was about to give up and continue with the explanation downheartedly, when her mind was thrown for a loop. Cornelius : "Fine..." Ismene''s face instantly became more radiant then the sun, and she started jumping up and down. After the third jump, she saw her Master''s annoyed face, and instantly she stopped jumping and went on with the explanation. Her face had a smile from ear to ear and her joy could not be contained as she leaned on him more. Ismene : "When Stratovians first descend, their locked minds can''t think on the level which they normally do, this also, for some reason, inhibits their emotions to the point of almost not feeling. As Stratovians progress along their unlock they regain their feelings and mental abilities. Pardon my saying this master, but right now you are like a moving rock. You can only move, not truly ''thinking'' in comparison to your normal level, and not even feeling at all!" Cornelius : "That much was obvious, how do I fix it..." Ismene''s smile faltered a bit, and then regained its flourish a moment later. Ismene : "Well, there are several ways... The first, is to force the brain to work again. This can be done several ways, such as falling in love with your little sliver of available emotions, or to constantly think on hard problems. The falling in love part is harder, yet much faster then the other one... The second method is to meditate... This is more along the lines of the "constantly think on hard problems" but it is more about "trying to figure out how the universe works". The third method, is to just wait. You have read on your card master, that you have a "crack" in your barriers. This will slowly leak your locked intellect, and allow you to breach your barriers faster and faster. This is the most boring method of all.. The last method, is to meet another unlocking or already unlocked Stratovian. I don''t know what this does for you, only that it works..." Cornelius just looked at her, slight disbelief in his eyes Cornelius : "And how do you know this? These methods can''t just be common knowledge..." Ismene : "When the Wizard saw your card he told me the ways to aid you when I found you..." Cornelius : "And how is it that he knows these things?" Ismene : "The Stratovians are Very thorough, they have records of how to unlock one of their own placed everywhere, should one of their descended citizens wish to ascend early or quickly. Every Capital has a mystic box which tells things about the Stratovians to people... The Stratovians left it there to help other Stratovians... In this kingdom however, only the Wizard and the King have access to it..." Cornelius : "Hmm, so the Wizard knows about this because of this "magic box"? What else can it tell him?" Ismene : "The box knows a lot... But anything it feels we don''t need to know, it either doesn''t answer or answers in a language nobody can understand... If you ask a question about helping a descended Stratovian it will respond in your language, but if you ask it a question about the sky, it will respond in some language which no one knows, and show weird symbols on the surface of the box (formulas)... If you ask it about the ground it will do the same thing... We think that it is the language of the Stratovians, seeing as how its their box." Cornelius : "Couldn''t we just ask the box where the Princess is?" Ismene : "Sorry Master it doesn''t work like that... You ask the box a question about the world, and it tells you, but some questions like that one, it won''t answer..." She cast her eyes down, at the realization that this too, could not help him. Cornelius : "Then what you are saying is basically any question which "humans" don''t need to know doesn''t get translated from the Stratovian language..." Ismene : "Correct Master..." Cornelius : "While we are visiting the Wizard we should try anyway. I have the feeling that I can understand this "unknown" language... If not understand, then probably I can recognize it..." Ismene : "As you desire Master..." ---------------------------- Wow, enough with the hateful comments guys D: I get it, the scumbag noble will die, MC will gain feels again, and Ismene won''t stray from the pure servant/slave path. You can stop telling me not to "make" her do anything... Anyway, I am going backpacking this weekend, see you all on Monday afternoon... (Interesting stuff coming up, stay tuned (just wait for the cheese to go down...) In other news, I think I was going to put a spoiler here, but I guess not as right now its 12:00 PM and I need to get up in 4 1/2 hours... Gnight all, sucks to be you, Keep on keeping on... Oh... Cant forget the window...
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
(i like the pink, its a nice shade when my eyes are tired...) Woot Back again!!! Sometime today maybe is another chapter.. Maybe.... Sorry for the short break. As a side note, you have not lived until you have thrown rocks and insults at a charging bear in an attempt to get it to leave...(true story....) Anyway, 2nd half of the chapter is some dark(?) shit. You have been warned (i guess...) First thing when we get back is... ----------------------------------------- *SMACK* *THUD* ??? : "YOU BUMBLING IDIOT!!! DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?!?!?!!?!" Ismene just looked at the old man whos forceful slap sent her to the floor. She reached up and started rubbing her cheek, which now had a bright red hand print on it. With a slight tear in her eye she jumped back onto her feet and then approached the old Wizard. Ismene : "It was a carfully calculated action, done with my entire heart behind it! I regret NOTHING!!!!" Cornelius : "Ismene... you told me it was on the spur of the moment...." Ismene''s face changed, and she turned to look at him with puppy dog eyes. Ismene : "Master you meany...*sniff*" The Wizard was still livid at Ismene, but turned to Cornelius, and bowed deeply. Wizard : "I am deeply sorry for Ismene''s actions. I accept any punishment, but please spare the country... it has nothing to do with one FOOL''S decision...." Cornelius : "Personally... I dont really care... However, I have already decided that this kingdom shall fall. That is set in stone, the only question which I have is whether you will help me or stand against me..." The Wizard just looked at him in shock. Wizard : "My... My lord! Please!! Reconsider! You have only been here for a single day! How can you make such a monumentous decision so quickly?? Certainly you should get to know the kingdom a bit----" Cornelius : "My decision, as I have said, is set in stone. Ismene has filled me in on the matters surrounding this Nation. It is warring with its neighbor over a pitiful reason while a greater threat is looming elsewhere. The king is content to let the heroes do his work for him, and the nobles are getting fat and rich off of the lands originally taken from Ismene''s country. All this while your true enemies are growing ever stronger to the south. I simply mean to make peace with your neighbor by returning their princess and ending this war which you guys started. I ask you again.. Do I need to kill you, or will you help us." Wizard (after some hesitation) : "This...I..." He glanced at Ismene. Their eyes met, and then he sighed a massive sigh. After a deep breath he nodded with vigor. Wizard : "I have known for a while that this warmongering country may yet be the death of humanity. And I have been trying to fix that from inside for quite a while. This would not happen easily however, and I decided instead to aide their efforts in an attempt to finish humanities civil war quickly and stabalize us before the Demons invade. You are correct about the war being petty on our part, but Orbitan and Asmenar have a justifiable cause as long as Gracemaria holds Orbitan''s princess. The war is not stopping so long as she remains on this side of the boarder..." His face clouded with unease at the mention of the underlying causes. Cornelius : "Yes I know that... That is why I am here... If I were to "aquire" a person with knowledge of her whereabouts would you be able to extract them?" The Wizards face was covered with shock at his words. Wizard : "I suppose so... Although that would have to be one of the inner circle, and I have heavily rienforced all of their minds against just that. It would take me an exceedingly long time in order to crack one. If you could isolate him for a period of... twenty days lets say, then yes I believe I can do it.... But what you prepose is Treason!! Just talk of this would get Ismene and I executed. You too if you choose not to reveal your race!" Cornelius : "So you can?" Wizard : "Yes. Given time and protection I would be able to crack one of the nobles mental defences. But luring one away..." Cornelius : "I will deal with the how. All I needed to know was if you could..." Itw as silent again for a moment, before Cornelius opened his mouth to speak again. Cornelius : "Ismene tells me you have a "black box" which answers questions... Take me to it..." Wizard : "Yes my lord..." The Wizard approached a wall, and pressed a brick, causing a crevice to open in the wall. What was revealed was a small box the size of a microwave, with a holoscreen infront of it. Cornelius : "It looks like a computer.. but it is far more advanced then anything I have seen..." Ismene : "com-peu-ter? What is that master??" Cornelius : "A machine from my world..." He said as he walked up to the black box and started searching for a power button. Ismene : "Ma-sheen? I dont get it master..." Cornelius let out a sigh, and ran his fingers over the box, after finding no obvious switch. A moment later the computer whirred to life, and displayed a few characters in a language which Cornelius didnt understand. It looked to be a form of greek from what he had seen of greece. Wizard : "Can you understand it?" Cornelius : "No.. but I think, if this was built by Stratovians I should probably be able to do this..." Cornelius : "Computer, translate to english..." A moment later the words morphed and changed to accomodate his language. Computer (on the screen) :
*Initiate boot sequence?* [YES] / [NO]
Cornelius saw no mouse so he tried touching the "yes" button on the screen. It seemed to work, as a moment later the computer flashed several million lines of code and then the screen went blank. A metalic voice rang out from the box. Box : "Hello Traveller. I am the memory bank V. 9.73 I have been installed with all sorts of worldly knowledge, from the ground below you to the races of the stars above you. Ask a question and I will do my best to answer...." Ismene and the Wizard stared in awe at the box which was now speaking. Normally words just scrolled by on the screen when you pressed the yes button. This.., was different then normal. Cornelius : "Show me a map of the stars..." A moment later the box ejected a small section of it, and projected a holographic map of a galaxy. Ismene : "Amazing master! I- I can''t believe this!!!" Cornelius : "What galaxy is this?" Box : "This galaxy is reffered to as the Galaxy of the last battle." Cornelius : "Where is earth..." Box : "Earth... Alternate names : Tera,D¨¬qi¨², Prithv¨©, ETC... Box : " I am the memory bank V. 9.73 I have been installed with all sorts of worldly knowledge, from the ground below you to the races of the stars above you. Ask a question and I will do my best to answer...." Cornelius : "Show me a map of the planet..." A moment later, the star map went away, showing a large holographic planet, roughly eight feet in diameter. It looked similar to earth, but was larger and had more water. On one side of it is ocean was a large continent, it stretched around the planet like a large ring. (think pangea) Box : "Will that be all?" Cornelius : "Yes" Box : "Comensing shut down sequence..." Ismene : "You put it to sleep master?" Cornelius : "Yes, now that I know I can understand it I can always come back to ask it a question if I need to know something." Ismene : "I see master..." She said, slightly displeased at the disappearence of the beautiful floating planet and the projection of the sky. Cornelius : "I guess we should get started then..." Wizard : "I guess we should.. I shall begin preperations immidietly!" ------------------------------------------------------- Yay switching viewpoints again! (rewinding time a bit...) (Be warned, this is some dark shit...but its slightly relevant to the plot...) its dark and cold..... So cold... She shivered, and covered up her pale naked body with the thin blanket they handed her when she had first arrived. She was alone here, in this dark damp cell. She had been here for who knows how long... She had not seen the light of day in what seemed like years, and her eyes and body had grown accustomed to the darkness. A frosty wind blew through, and she shivered again. She surpressed the shivers. She could not afford to shiver, it took too much energy. She needed energy. Needed it for when the frost blew through the halls. Needed it to keep warm. Needed it to live The wind blew again, through the small grate above her head. The strong gust threw off the corner of the blanket which she had clenched so tightly to her shoulder. The wind stung at the bruises which marred her once beautiful body. She sat in her darkness, thinking... All she could do is think... She couldnt move, moving required too much energy. She couldnt speak, the dry cold air had made her vocal chords hoarse and unable to be used easily. She could only think, as she lay in her isolation, just waiting for the next beating and molestation. She heard the crackle of footsteps breaking the ice down the hall. no... please... not again... never again... No matter how much she pleaded in her mind, her throut was too hoarse to cry out as it had when she first arrived, back when she didnt know how things worked here. The crackling came closer, but paused just outside of her thick wooden door. *Slide* A small amount of dim torch light, blinding to her eyes showed through that open slit. On the other side of it, she noticed the familiar face of her gaoler. The door creaked open a moment later, his hulking body blocking the entrace completely. She was forced to squint by the sudden downpoor of light. ??? : " ''Ello girlie, Nice ta see ya up this brigh''n earlie... U realy did meh good last tyme with ya nails in me eyes. Time for a littl'' paybac..." He approached her, much to her grief. please... no... not again... never again... His footsteps creeped in closer, as she remained huddled against her corner of the room. At first she had fought him off, refusing to allow him closer. She had attempted to run through the open door, seeing it as an option of escape, not for what it was. The open door was not for her to escape, it was to show her. He was in complete control of the situation. The open door was a sign of complete confidence that she would be unable to escape. She had tried resisting for a while... And for a while it seemed like she was winning.... This had only made him more determined to break her, and his visits became more frequent over time. After she had resisted however, he simply did not feed her. He opened the door and ate her food outside. Her gruel that was supposed to be given to her, he just sat down, with the door wide open, and ate it infront of her. He then spat it out on the floor and commented on how bad it was. She at first didnt understand the importance of this action, yet over time... .....over time... the cold did his work for him, as it ripped through her pitiful layer of excess energy in a matter of days. She looked back at her time before hell, and regretted trying to keep her ladylike figure in hopes of finding a knight or prince... All of the fasting, the passing up of good filling food. She needed energy... How could she have been so stupid? Soon after he started eating her food, the cold broke her, and she had stopped resisting as much. She had simply not moved, to conserve her meager energy. This had pleased him, and he started to encrouch, ever so slowly, only an inch at a time, but soon enough he was in front of her. She didn''t have the energy to resist, nor cry out, so she sat in resignation at the horrors which unfolded unto her. He was a cruel jailer. He would molest her, beat her, dehuminize her. He could not rape her, nor kill her, nor leave a permanent mark on her body. That would devalue her as leverage, and that was their entire purpose in keeping her It was brutal, and in his eyes she was less than human... There were times when she wished for death, Times when she simply sat shivering alone in her cell, her thin blanket off of her fragile body, all in an attempt to kill herself with the cold. This didn''t work however, as the jailer came and lay next to her, transfering his body heat to her... She hated it so much that she never tried to kill herself that way again. Instead she tried other ways, such as fasting. That didnt work either, he force fed her the gruel which he so eagerly spat out last time, prying her mouth open and forcing it in. She had tried time and time again to end this agony, but eventually she stopped.. She chose to endure hell, trusting in her country and family to save her. His cold hands brought her back to reality for a moment as they touched her. Tears fell down from her eyes as she lay in resignation. Her mind left her cold broken body and wandered to a better time. One thought permeated her "happy place"... It refused to leave, no matter what she did or where she went within her own mind. please.... someone... anyone... save me.... what have I done to deserve this? -------------------------------------------------- Wow ok then. Finally a longer chapter? Well shit gets fun next few chapters!!! (look forward to it : D )
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
Chapter 17 She took a deep breath, steadying herself, her anger still seething beneath her gorgeous complexion. To her right a voice spoke out to the rest of the assembled group of nine. ??? : "And how would you propose we do this then? I have only seen you shoot down ideas so far Vincenza. You have done nothing to aide our progress... Quinn, what are your opinions on our next actions?" Quinn : " I... have no input Elaina... We can only wait..." Vincenza : "That is wrong... soooooo very wrong... Quinn, you and I both know that there are many MANY more options available to us. We wield far more power then we have been using and we could achieve better results if we simply used it!!!" They all looked at her, slight agitation in their eyes at her incessant complaints. ??? : "As much as I hate to admit it... she might be right..." They all looked to the source of the voice. Standing in the open doorway was a woman with a child hiding behind her long dress. The woman was tall and beautiful, in the late stages of pregnancy, and appeared to be in her early twenties. The child was young, appearing to be around six years old. Vincenza : "This truly is odd, to have the mighty and prestigious Reyna agree with me. I wonder if I have done something incorrect?" Reyna : "No... You are not incorrect. The approach we have adopted until this point has been lukewarm at best. Surely you all wish to accomplish our task as soon as possible, and I for one cannot sit idly by while there is a threat at our doorstep!" ??? : "Yes mother, while I do agree, I stand beside aunty Quinn''s opinion that other then wait we can do nothing...." One of the males in the group spoke up. He was remarkably handsome, with an age around seventeen. He stood at about six foot one, and had dirty blond hair with blue eyes. Another man, to the first man''s right, spoke up at the first man''s comment. This second man had similar looks to the first man, but was slightly shorter and appeared slightly older, around nineteen or so, with a slightly more filled out body. ??? : "Raytan certainly you do not simply accept this outcome for what it is? Do you not require an explanation on the recent events? Will you stay here and bicker with our aunts while our father is missing?" Raytan : "We are not currently in a position to aide him Salazar! Have you forgotten that we cannot even track the disruption, let alone follow it?!?!" At that point a voice spoke up, silencing the bickering of the two brothers. A new woman walked into the room. The oldest of them all, appearing to be in her early thirties. At her appearance the circle all bowed their heads and widened the circle to accommodate her. Behind the new addition one other person could be seen, a young daughter, roughly age nine, trailing behind her mother. ??? : "That may not be correct...I have been experimenting with a stabilization device which my husband was helping me with. I believe that I may have been able to create a working prototype..." At the words of the woman everyone in the room was stunned. What she had proposed was deemed nigh on impossible not that long ago in the forums of information and theory. Vincenza : "This prototype... how sure are you?" Quinn : "Watch your tone Vincenza..." Quinn bickered a bit from the side, as she shot a glance at the feisty woman who had just discarded all decorum in the presence of their leader. ??? : "I do not mind Quinn, this is a matter of urgency and the master of the house is away. We have no strangers here, and in my husbands eyes we are all equal, therefore I take no offense.: Reyna : "Lady Hera... I am afraid I must also breach conduct; What you claim is difficult to accept in its entirety... Especially considering the fact that our husband has been... unable to help you... for a while. This would imply that before he chose to leave us you were well along in your research..." Hera : "Yes, we reached a critical juncture in our research which required time to decipher. He and I set up a computer system to simulate endless amounts of scenarios and left it running. A few hours ago the simulation stopped, bringing forward a solution. I have spent the last few hours on this..." She said, as she held up a small loop, the size of a bracelet. The bracelet was pitch black, with rainbow lines running along it, each one never maintaining the same color for more then a few moments before swapping to a different hue Vincenza : "You mean to tell me that this can replicate the liquified quanta which the Maximar''s use for their transportation?" Hera looked at her for a moment before shaking her head regretfully. Hera : "Not quite, at least, not yet. For now all it does is ride the previously created tunnel to the original destination. Although I do not know how accurate it is, nor if its stable enough to put into use yet, I can assure you that given time all variables can be eliminated from the scenario and we can use it to track down my husband." The little girl behind her tugged on her skirt, prompting Hera to look down. Her previously stoic face bloomed into a massive smile and her cheeks gained a rosy hue to them as she glanced at her young daughter. Daughter : "Mommy, are we going to meet Daddy?" Hera : "Yes dear, it won''t be long now before you see your father again." Vincenza : "Lady Hera. May I inquire upon who you shall send through the portal to recover our husband?" Hera paused a moment, looking up from her adorable daughter. She gently nudged her daughter in the direction of the small child hiding behind Reyna, telling her to go play while the adults talked. A moment later the smaller children left the room. It was after this that Hera''s face grew emotionless once more, and she turned the Vincenza who had waited patiently this entire time, along with the rest of the group. Hera : "This is still open for discussion. As is when we use it." She looked around again, locking eyes one by one with every person in the room and noting their expressions. Vincenza : "I-" Reyna : "Please allow me Lady Hera." Hera turned to glance at Reyna, and a moment later her emotionless face turned to anger. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.Hera : "You would endanger his child?" Her words were calm and quiet but filled with boundless rage; a rage which would drown out even the hate which the Stratovians held toward the Maximars. Reyna, upon seeing this, kept her calm appearance and continued on. Reyna : "No madam, I am to give birth before the timer hits 0:00. It is after this grace period , and after the birth that I was planning on making the move. Because of the technology and risk involved I accounted for a 100 cycle grace period, which matched perfectly with my birth and the Timer set by the Primus of the Origin Galaxy." Upon seeing that the decision was based off of sound reason Hera''s anger faded slightly but she still turned away from Reyna, glancing instead at the three remaining women in the room. Hera : "100 cycles is too long for me. I am planning to move within ten. Now... The rest of you..." She paused, then corrected herself. Hera : "No, that is incorrect. Quintus, Raytan, Salazar, Victoria, Qadira, Kendra. You all may leave." Victoria : "But moth-" Hera glanced at her daughter and said with a smile so cold in origin that it caused the recipients to shiver unconsciously. Hera (with a fake smile) : "I will not endanger my husbands children. Please leave." At her words, the recipients could do nothing and left slightly downhearted. A few moments later only five people were in the room. Hera glanced around again, making sure she had everyone''s complete attention. Hera : " Reyna, Vincenza, Elaina, and Quinn... You are all my husbands wives. As such you have equal standing in this conversation. With the exception of Reyna who is pregnant, one of us must go and save him. Now, state your opinions on this matter." Vincenza : "I... wish to go." Quinn : "While I dislike the uncertainty of the plan, I agree with Vincenza." Elaina : "As do I." Hera turned to Reyna. Hera : "Although you cannot participate as a candidate I assume you share the same opinion as your fellow sisters." Reyna : "I do. Vincenza is the perfect candidate for this with the doctored timeline. As I myself cannot participate, a more aggressive approach and a more aggressive person would be the prime choice to go through the portal first. Her telekinesis is also very strong. I have complete confidence that Vincenza can handle whatever needs to be handled on the other side of the portal." Hera nodded and turned the Vincenza. Hera : "Lady Vincenza Scylax. As a Wife of High Primus Ajax Scylax, who is currently unable to defend himself, the council of his wives is sending you to aide him in recovery and be his shield until such a time as he no longer requires it. Do you accept this duty." Vincenza bowed before Hera and the other three. Vincenza : "As a wife of Ajax Scylax I accept this responsibility in its entirety." Hera''s face broke from its expressionless appearance into a small smile. Hera : "Good. Be prepared in four days. When the count down on the timer hits cycle 90 we shall activate the ring to transport you roughly to the other side. You will not be in the exact spot as he was transported, as we are simply piggybacking on the signal. The gate will only last for a few moments and you will likely be unable to return through it unless you receive Ajax''s help in repairing the device. You are likely to meet heavy resistance from the Maximar''s on the other side of the portal should that truly be its origin. In the event of such an outcome please, return safely... My husband loves all his wives very much, and it would pain him as well as his children should one of us perish." Vincenza nodded solemnly and then the group dispersed, each one preparing for the events ahead. --------------------------------------- Yay! stuff happening back in our universe (they are separate universes, not just galaxies in case you were wondering.) v-- Its back!! A small one about tech levels this time Spoiler : Stratovians classify civilizations by tech tiers. Tier 0 is everything from an asteroid up to the base of tier one Tier 1 = Beginning of industrialization and civilization. IE steam power, factories and stuff like that, as well as large scale exploration. Weapons are generally hand to hand here Tier 2 = Just getting into the "digital" age. IE starting space travel and a more "advanced" society.(this is where we are now) Weapons are starting to get into larger destruction, such as an atom bomb Tier 3 = Expanding out among the stars (this is anywhere from 2 planets to several thousand) The peak of tier 3 is FTL transportation IE a hyperdrive or something Weapons here generally affect planets (the deathstar would be a tier 3 technology) Tier 4 = Anything really over the top like Maximar tech or others... (the gateway which was used on Cornelius was a tier 4 technology.) These civilizations are generally massive, spanning several galaxies. There have only been an incredibly small number of tier 4 civilizations ever to exist. (the Stratovian genocide weapons are tier 4) These weapons affect entire solar systems or more in their effect Tier 5 = This is the Stratovians and the Maximars. This tech level entails anything that essentially breaks the universe. None of this has been revealed (yet) and when it does it leaves a large impact (on the universe as a whole, not just a galaxy) Well, actually, the swarm (both of them) is a tier 5 technology. So I guess some have been revealed right? Not in the story though, just in the back-story. Anyway, hope that cleared a bit up... Cough cough... on to other things (my league is being stupid and wont let me log in the first time. It just has a discon error and crashes, but only on my main account. My smurf works just fine. I dont get it >.> League is just stupid I guess?) Oh ya, the window...
LURKERS BEWARE!!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!!
Chapter 18, the courtyard So uh... Shit is going down IRL, but in summary, My mom is a bitch, and I havent had time to write... there, good enough of a summary. This chapter is a bit wonky, I decided to boost the pacing a bit, because I had them ( literally) on their way to the Wizard for a few chapters before they actually got there. I will try to make this one longer and have it encompass more events, but in the event where that is impossible, take the erro scene and be done with it for today (eventually I SHALL RETURN!!!) ---------------------------------------------------- Ismene : "Master... what now?" Cornelius : "Well, I hadn''t exactly planned for our long winding path through the castle, but for now I hope to gather a bit of influence within the court." Ismene : "Hmm... That isn''t exactly easy master... The sword fight you had with Sir Ben might have put you on their lists but that would take a few days for word of that event to circulate. I am sure that nobody knows of that fight yet, well... maybe the king does...." Cornelius : "I wasn''t planning on using the fight, I was planning on introducing a small amount of basic knowledge from my world. Even a small tidbit of good information from what my people have learned would easily offset the power balance here. Ismene : "With all due respect Master, wouldn''t that be counterproductive? I mean, why give the edge to the country you want to lose? Cornelius smiled a bit, causing Ismene''s heart to flutter. His smile faded a moment later, yet Ismene could not forget the feeling. Cornelius : "Good news for Orbitan, I was planning to temporarily defect to them, before splitting off completely and forming my own faction''. I would only be giving a small portion of knowledge to Gracemaria, whereas the lions share of it would go to Orbitan. Well to be honest, both countries are getting cheated because the knowledge which I plan to give them is obsolete in our world..." Ismene''s smile shook for a moment at the mention of "his world". She still remembered that the ultimate goal would be to return to this "earth" which the black box had shown them. She still remembered the dazzling glow the little dots held as the swirled about her to depict her Master''s home. She glanced at the sky through one of the many hallway windows. It was turning grey. Her mind wondered for a moment, pondering what would happen once her Master completed his objectives here. Would he leave her behind? Would he take her with him? Would she be there, or would she have sacrificed herself to save him from harm? Cornelius seemed to notice that she had gone quiet. She never goes quiet. Always praising him, prattling on or asking questions. Out of sheer curiosity he spoke Cornelius : "Ismene?" Ismene seemed to have broken out of her trance, for she looked at him, her originally troubled appearance hid itself, covered skillfully with a broad smile. She latched on to his arm, and walked slightly in front of him Ismene : "Can I show you something master?" Cornelius hesitated a moment, but nodded all the same after thinking about it for a moment. Ismene gently pulled on his arm, prompting him to allow her to take the lead. She lead him through many stone hallways for a few minutes, before they emerged from the twisted darkening castle into a large courtyard which overlooked the city. Ismene guided him to a large stone wall, about waist height, and jumped up to sit on it. Cornelius looked around, but not noticing anything truly of import he decided to look at Ismene. She was gazing off in the direction which they came, but slightly above the castle. He decided to follow her gaze, He saw that, at the crest of the castle were many oddly shaped prisms which focused the moonlight into a beam which ran straight down into the center of the courtyard. Cornelius : "This is interesting..." Ismene : "Yes Master, this is the queens courtyard. It was said, that a long time ago a King built this for his wife so that she could bathe in the moonlight." Cornelius : "That is a rather short explanation..." Ismene : "There was more to the story but I was never really one for that type of thing..." For a moment the conversation stopped and they just looked on at the solid beam of moonlight which lit up the courtyard and a large pool in the center. Cornelius stood up, prompting Ismene to stand as well. He then started to fish around in his pockets for something. Ismene : "Master?" Cornelius : "I had a diffraction prism that we had used in a physics lab. Ah! Here it is!" Ismene just looked on, clueless, as Cornelius pulled out a small clear diamond made of glass. Ismene : "Dih-ffrack-shun?" Cornelius : "Just watch..." With that he told her to stay, as he approached the moonbeam. After a few seconds of walking, he reached a point in the beam where it was almost flush with a wall. He set the prism in the beams path and instantly the pool, which had been illuminated by white light now became a myriad of color. Literally every color of the rainbow was there, each dying a different section of the water. He walked back to Ismene, and sat on the wall. She followed suit a moment later. Ismene leaned in towards him, laying her head on his shoulder. He just kept walking. At first when she had been clingy like this he would get slightly agitated but right now he really didn''t care. He just wanted to enjoy the scene. It was rare to find a beam of white-light in his world, let alone one like this, so this was a rare sight. Ismene : "Its beautiful..." Cornelius : "Yes... it is..." Ismene : "Hey master?" Cornelius : "Yes Ismene?" Ismene : "When you finish here... will you leave?" Cornelius : "Yes, That is what I plan on doing..." Ismene : "I see..." After that she was silent. They continued to watch the light show and look at the colors for a few more minutes, before a large cloud shut off the light by blocking the moon. They decided to go back, so Cornelius grabbed his prism and they walked back to Cornelius''s assigned room. Cornelius walked in, and Ismene followed. Cornelius : "You..." Ismene : "Am I displeasing to you Master?" Cornelius : "Not really...." Ismene : "Then was it the sex that was bad?" Cornelius : "No, not really..." Ismene : "Then is there a reason for me to be absent?" Cornelius sighed, and Ismene smiled. After a few moments of awkward silence, where Cornelius didn''t know what to do next, and Ismene was just waiting for an order or to be helpful, Ismene went behind Cornelius, and started to undress him. Cornelius : "I can undress myself you know?" Ismene : "It is a servants duty to help their Master. Please, allow me... unless I am displeasing you?" Cornelius : "You.. are so clingy..." Ismene just smiled at this, and dropped his pants down from behind. One of her hands continued on to take off his shirt while the other stayed where his pants had fallen. Cornelius : "I am not really complaining or anything, but is this necessary?" He spoke while looking down at her fragile hand which was stroking his exposed cock. A moment later, his shirt was off and her other hand was also descending, but not without tracing a small path with her fingernail around his torso. Ismene : "Of course Master, unless it is displeasing" She said, her mouth ascending to nibble on his earlobe. He could hear her panting, he could feel her body against his back and her soft hands stroking his, now hard, manhood. Cornelius : "Its not that its displeasing, its just... awkward?" Ismene paused at this, moving in-front of him. She kept her face down, and one of her hands moved to take off her shirt, while the other never stopped moving. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Ismene : "....*pant*....*pant*...." Her panting was getting louder and louder. She moved her thighs to envelope his cock in the hem of her skirt, keeping is burried in the sanctuary. Her hands moved up to his shoulders, and she used him as a kind of brace, clenching her thighs around his cock and humping herself against his body. Her top came off, revealing her ample breasts. One of her hands left his shoulders, and gently took one of his hands, guiding it carefully to her left breast. Her other hand wrapped around his neck, to compensate for the missing other hand. A moment later, when she was sure that he was ready to go, she turned away from him, her face still down, and slid off her skirt. Her ass and bare legs came into his view, along with her white back. She turned around, pressing her fully naked body against him once again. Cornelius : "Ismene?" She had been too quiet this entire time. As much as he would like to deny it, in the one day he had known her, she had left a strong impression on him, and he could essentially tell what her personality is. Ever since after they left the Wizard she had been acting kind of... off. His hand reached down, to tilt her face upwards. Before it reached it however, it was wet with her fallen tears. Cornelius : "You don''t have to force yourself you know?" Ismene : "No Master, it is not that... Not that at all!!" She said, instantly denying his implied cause. Ismene : "I... I just wish to know... When you leave, do you plan on taking me? I understand that this is an impudent thing to ask and all, but I...I wish to know..." Cornelius : "Is this why you have been clingy this entire time? And why you have been so eager to make yourself useful?" Ismene nodded. She had wanted to reply to him verbally, but her words would not come out. Her throut was sealed, her heard and head throbbing. Her eyes were red with tears and her body was shivering. The fear she had of the answer to this question far surpassed any fear she had ever known. It determined her fate. Whether she would be left here or be taken with her Master... Her world stopped as she waited for his answer. She knew how unlikely it was for him to accept her, and give his reasurence. She also knew that what she was doing was very disrespectful and she regretted asking, but it was destroying her mental state. His mouth moved and Ismene''s knees failed when she heard the word. Her tears, which he had previously wiped off with his finger, relapsed, pouring out even faster then before. She was sobbing now. Ismene : "I *sobb* accept *-Hick-* your decision *sobb* Master..." Cornelius decided that based on her state right now, as well as her actions in the duration that he had known her, as well as the unpredictability of events which had yet to unfold he needed to give her an answer without hesitation. Cornelius : "Yes..." (this is the word that was said previously, it was delayed for dramatic effect, in case you were confused... you never know, some ppl don''t get it, or its just 11:30 PM when I write this and I have no idea what I am trying to say...) Her tears of sorrow had turned to tears of joy, and her knees had given out at the release of the pent up stress as well as the overwhelming surge of joy. Ismene : "Master... Please take me...." At those words, she struggled to her feet and flopped on to the bed, legs and arms spread wide, exposing everything to her Master. Her owner. Her Sovreign. Her God. She was absolutely breathtaking, and compeltely submissive at that point in time. She was the happiest person on the planet. Not only had her Master accepted her, he did it with no hesitation. She would be with him for as long as she lived at this rate! He closed in, leaning down towards the bed. She prepared herself for the pinicle of the night. It had been a long day and she was tired but she needed to assure her Master that he had made the correct descision to keep her. In anticipation of the act to come she struggled to open her legs even a tiny bit more, just to make it even slightly easier on him. He laid down next to her, flicked her in the head, and rolled over, a small smile, ever so slight, on his face. Cornelius : "Maybe tommorrow, Its been a long day...." -------------------------------------------------------------------- Well then, let down? OR IS IT?!?! (its not morning yet? stuff could still happen, just comment y/n and it shall be decided... I guess... Anyway, the spoiler this time is my comment from last time in case you missed it. (Am I the only one who reads the comments?) Spoiler : (27-05-15, 10:08 PM)mufarasu Wrote: Thanks for the chapter. Soooo, here''s a question how long has it been since he got his memory wiped? I was under the impression that he basically "reincarnated" into a human body, or an infant version of himself then began living as a human on earth for whatever reason until his teens. But after this chapter I''m thinking it must have been way shorter than that because: a) one of his wives is pregnant, and I''m gonna assume that it''s still a 9 month pregnancy period. So that would mean he got his memory wiped and has been living on earth for less than a year which makes some of his memories weird (ie recalling how things always came easy to him and reminiscing about the past). This would also mean that his whole school would have to have their memories adjusted to account for him and vice versa. b) He has a young daughter which doesn''t make sense for the same reason as above. If he has been living on earth, after getting his memories wiped, until his teens. His youngest daughter would have to be at least as young as his current age. Am I just missing something? Or is this a loophole? First off, am I the only one who reads the comments? Second, to answer the question; (this was mentioned earlier, either in the comments or in a spoiler) Stratovians have a 4 year pregnancy period, and their young age at a similar rate as the fetus does. IE the "six" year old is actually around 32 years old. He just appears to be six. (side note, their minds dont actually become different then normal humans until maturity, which is at age "12" for them or 60 or so in our years) All of Cornelius/ Ajax''s memories are fabricated from before he went to highschool, just to not tip him off to the nature of himself "If that is the explanation then why didnt he start unlocking earlier? I mean, he has only been locked for like 2 years!!!" This one is actually simple. Stuff came easy, as it should, but it was TOO easy. With nothing to stretch the brain (IE the sword fight) there was nothing to form the crack in the first place and start the leak of knowledge. Essentially his life was on easy mode, forcing an "auto pilot" walk through as opposed to manual control... if that makes sense Anyway, back on to the original thing A) His wife is 4 years pregers, not 9 months pregnant and B) the daughter is, as stated, older then most of my readers (45 years old or so) She still acts like a 9 year old though until age "12" at which point the Stratovian blood takes over and her IQ skyrockets Longer chapter finally?

(blue didnt work) Chapter 19 For reference, two days have passed since the last chapter.. ------------ The morning as the two wandered around the castle... Ismene : "Master?" Cornelius : "Yes Ismene?" He said, only glancing at her, but continuing to walk all the same. Ismene : "Pardon the question, but have you gotten yourself lost?" Cornelius : "No Ismene, I have not..." After he said that, he turned around a corner to the exact hallway he was looking for... Ismene : "Why are we here then? Breakfast and you fellow heroes are on the other side of the Great Hall, this area.... nothing good is here, it is only workshops..." Cornelius : "I know that these are workshops...." Ismene : "........" Cornelius : "What is it with you and leaning on my arm?" Cornelius at that point, almost shook her off of his arm, but she only gripped it tighter, clasping his arm between her breasts and taking his hand in hers, leading it downward. She slipped it under her skirt a moment later and looked at him with puppydog eyes. Ismene : "Master... I.... I...." She paused, her face filling with great emotion. The mood she was giving off was something similar to a love confession, or the start of a confession of guilt. She leaned in extremely close to his face, slightly moving her hips upward. A moment later she opened her mouth ever so slightly and whispered passionately in his ear. Ismene : "I''m still horny..." Cornelius, resisting the urge to slap her, instantly took his arm back from her and shoved her away, angered yet he knew it was his fault for letting her get away with worse earlier. Cornelius : "Well stop that, we are here..." They entered into a large room, several dozen feet wide, with a myriad of materials piled up on the sides of the room, with a large open space in the center. In one of the corners of the room, at a desk with stacks of papers on it, was a lone man. Under six feet in height, but moderately good looking. He had brown hair and brown eyes, with simple work cloths, which deemed him as "not a servant" yet also "not a noble" ??? : "Can I help you?" Cornelius : "Are you the chief engineer?" Chief Engineer : "Yes.... Can I help you?" Cornelius : "I had some... "ideas" that might help you out." Chief Engineer : "You are one of the heroes, are you not?" Cornelius moved over to the lone man, and looked him straight in the eye. Cornelius : "Yes, from what I have understood about this place, you have a very.... unsophisticated technology level. Primitive, nay, Primeval if I were to compare it to my world." Chief Engineer : "P-P-PRIMITIVE!!! SUCH INSOLENCE!!" Cornelius : "Yes, Primitive. I mean, at best you don''t even have the concept of a crossbow, nor mortar for your bricks! You dont have standardized units of measurement you don''t have catapults, trebuchets, monganels, balistas, you don''t even have cast iron!." Chief Engineer : "What exactly are you listing off, the words make no sense!!!" Cornelius : "EXACTLY!!! That''s the problem. Now, you are at least fifteen hundred years behind from my world. The way I see it, which is the way you should see it, anything gained and kept after fifteen hundred years which you don''t have is worth learning... And I happen to know a lot about this stuff." Chief Engineer : "Oh ya? If your world is so amazing, prove it..." Ismene : "Such INSOLENCE!!! The King would have you hanged for your tone against a hero!" Chief Engineer : "No he wouldn''t, the king doesn''t have the gall to hang the cousin of the duke of Monef!" (If it is any consolation, I really wanted to put "bite my shiny metal ass" here, but it wouldn''t fit D : ) Ismene stuttered a bit at the lordlings newfound identity, while Cornelius just headed over to the stack of papers." Chief Engineer : "HEY DONT TOUCH THOSE!!! THOSE ARE SECRET PLANS!!!" Cornelius simply grabbed the top one from the stack and put it on the desk. Chief Engineer : "ARE YOU DEAF!?!?! I SAID DO---" A moment later he was cut off by something hitting his face. He looked at the piece of paper, baffled. It had been creased and folded in various different places to resemble a mutilated bird, as it looked like a bird, but with short stubby wings, and a vertical tail like a fish. Chief Engineer : "What?" Cornelius simply sighed and took the paper airplane from the mans hand, throwing it across the room again. Ismene and the Chief Engineer both looked on in shock as the paper bird soared on nothing, across the room and out the door. This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. Chief Engineer : "WHAT?!?!?!" Cornelius : "The concept of flight... Advanced enough?" When he invoked no reaction from the Chief Engineer, who was still in a daze staring at the door, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Cornelius : "No? I guess that one is still a hundred years old, how about this one... Ismene give me two numbers somewhere between infinity and negative infinity." Ismene : "Uhh, 16 and 29" Cornelius : "So uncreative, something you couldn''t do in your head..." Ismene : "Uhh 2140 and 1231?" Cornelius : "Still too small, how about I pick... I choose 19712591, and pi." Chief Engineer : "Pie? How is that a number? And what is this little black box?" Cornelius : "Are you at least advanced enough to understand multiplication?" Chief Engineer : "Of course!" Cornelius : "Would you be able to multiply those two numbers together to get a result?" Chief Engineer : "The first absurd number aside, I still do not understand where food comes into this..." Cornelius : *Sigh* "Do you understand area? You know, length times width?" The Chief Engineer just looked at him like he was stupid... Chief Engineer : "Of course I understand that, for example the area of this room is close to four thousand cultons!!!" Cornelius : "Culton?" The Chief Engineer "humphed" this time in arrogance. Chief Engineer : "To not even understand Cultons and yet you have the audacity to say WE are primitive!!" Cornelius : "Anyway, different units of measurement aside, if you are so advanced, how do you find the area of a circle?" The Chief Engineer looked at him, and stated matter of factually Chief Engineer : "What you ask is an impossible question, there is no way to measure such a thing..." Cornelius : "Sure there is..." Chief Engineer : "Preposterous! Its impossible, there is no formula for it! It simply cant be done!" Cornelius : "That is where pi comes in..." Chief Engineer : "Again, you bring food into math..." Cornelius : "Pi is different from pie, Pi as in "p" "i" is a mathematical expression, such as "x", whereas the other is food. Anyway, Pi is a constant that allows you to find measurements pertaining to a circle, such as its perimeter and area." Chief Engineer : "Oh, and this is your "modern concept?" Cornelius : "No, that is ancient, but on a different note, back to those two numbers... The first was something like 19712600 right? And the second was Pi, which is 3.1415 so we multiply the two together and we get... Sixty one million two hundred and one thousand one hundred thirty two point 9." He said after tapping on the small black box in his hand. The chief engineer was baffled, that number was close, but for it to be exact down to a decimal was something he never would have thought of as possible, especially with such an abstract second number. Chief Engineer : "Boy, what is that box in your hand? It appears to have just told you the answer?" Cornelius : "This is the "modern" concept which I was talking about... Computers... This here can calculate anything, assuming it has power which is another concept all together..." The Chief Engineer looked at him, his gaze transferring from the paper airplane in the hall to the black box in the hero''s hand. A moment later he paused, scratched his head and then sighed. Chief Engineer : "From such an advanced prospective I guess we are primitive... Pray tell, which marvelous concept were you planning on giving us earlier before I mucked up the conversation with arrogance, which was above my station." Ismene stared at the man in shock as Cornelius faintly smiled. Cornelius : "Well the first thing which I was going to ask was if you had any accurate maps..." --------------------------------------------------------- Well, sorry about the long break (shit happens u know?) (My mom took my power cord.... For reasons which I may or may not discuss later) Anyway, no spoiler this time, but instead I leave an assurance... I SHALL RETURN!!!!!!!
LURKERS BEWARE!!! FOR I DESIRE COMMENTS!!!
Revamp, Chapter 1 I decided to revamp the story, as I had a few... loop holes and plot devices that didn''t quite work. So I restarted it. As you may notice the old chapters will stay up until I replace them with the new chapters. I like this new plot line better, but if enough ppl want the other one to stay. Anyway, hope you like it?? (slightly different premise here, but same world as before and same lore. More to be explained next chapter!!!) --------------------------- She was looking at him again... It was a normal day at school, much like the others, hence the use of the word normal. Today, she was at it again, just like normal. The girl in the back was staring at him. He turned his head slightly, catching a glimpse again of this mysterious girl. Not mysterious in the normal meaning of the word, but more mysterious as to WHY she was always staring at him... She had been in all his classes since he joined the school three years ago, and had proceeded to stare at him for the entire duration of every class, disregarding the world around her. That didn''t impact her grades though, as she was like him... She, quite possibly, knew more then the teacher did on the subject in question, even without studying. He was like that as well, but he at least made the farce of paying attention, as it would be considered... "un-natural" should a child know more about physics, a class he had never taken before nor looked into, then a physics professor. He at least tried to hide it, while she just stared at him, zoning out the world around her, day in and day out. Always him, never anyone else. Most people would find it weird or creepy to have a stalker, but he didn''t particularly care. He actually quite liked the girl, the way she acted, the way she spoke, the way she looked. That was, unless you counted her stalking him. Upon noticing his gaze she smiled, a beautiful thing, and waved to him, her petite hand spreading out his pale smooth perfect fingers, and moving in a circular arc. He slightly waved back, her smile grew brighter. His thoughts on this subject split, which was one of many he was currently pondering. Half of the allotted brain power given to this quandary remained rational along its previous course, while the other half splintered off, forming several sub thoughts. The strongest one of these splinters was the thought "My god, she is beautiful...", another one of these "Look at her breasts, how did they even get that large?" was a close runner up, as it complemented the first thought, leading to it becoming more powerful. The lesser thoughts, such as "She looks incredibly familiar, do I know her from somewhere?", gradually were absorbed by the larger thoughts. The larger thoughts became stronger and stronger in that isolated portion of his brain, as they acquired the brainpower of the smaller thoughts which they squished. The splinters of thought, for this war, were rapidly gaining in strength, and were gradually overcoming his reasoning side that was wondering why she was staring at him. As it approached the threshold however, where the two sides would swap, and a majority of his allocated portion of brain capacity would think on how hot she was, something broke his concentration, briefly shutting down his mental war. ??? : "Mr. Cornelius, am I boring you?" Cornelius : "Yes..." He let the world slip out in partial annoyance at having his thoughts interrupted and partially because it was true. The teacher had absolutely nothing to tell him which he couldn''t reason out himself. It was kind of marvelous, he could figure out the subject through logic and reason before it was taught to him. He always had been one who learned quickly and, for the most part didn''t even need school. He only came because otherwise he would have nothing to do. The teacher must have thought he was being a rude smart-ass, as he was new to this class, and substantially younger then anyone else in it, except his stalker. Teacher : "Well, we shall have to see what the Principal says to that, Ms. Veronica, you shall go as well. I don''t want to separate the equally disrespectful lovebirds" At that last word, the classroom tensed up. Veronica was the jewel of the school... Unfathomably smart, unfathomably beautiful.. Perfect in everything, never getting angry, although she never actively talked to anyone either, she was rather nice to those she did not know. She had rejected countless dates, and had crushed many men''s dreams. Roughly half the class stared at Cornelius with eyes of envy. They all were incredibly angered at how things had turned out. Cornelius, unlike the rest of them, had never gone out of his way to ask her anything, nor gone out of his way to socialize with her, she just decided on him. She followed him around, smiled at him, waved at him, and apparently had eyes for ONLY him. Cornelius : *Maybe its an age thing?* He and Veronica were the two youngest people in the room. He was fifteen, and apparently so was she. She didn''t look fifteen, she looked slightly older then that, about seventeen, but she had entered the school the same time he did, and he had known her since she was his size. The rest of the people in the class were seniors at the high-school, taking their last physics class until they graduated. Veronica stood up, attracting the gazes of all the wannabee boyfriends in the room, each knowing her actual age but so swayed by her appearance that they thought it wouldn''t matter. She eventually stood right behind him as they waited for the teacher to finish his referral to the office. His thoughts swayed back to her and why she was still, even now, staring at him with that slight smile on her face. He resolved himself to talk to her for once when they exited the classroom to find out what this was about. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. The teacher had finished writing his note, and handed it to Cornelius, with Veronica following closely behind. The moment they were out of the classroom and the door closed, Cornelius looked at her, and his thoughts splintered again, as his determination faltered a bit. A moment passed as they walked in silence, before he stopped walking and stared her straight in the face, just a few inches away. Cornelius : "Why were you staring at me?" Veronica : "Because I love you..." His mind, which had been warring over various subjects until that point, shut down all of its smaller wars, such as those on the architecture of the building, or the particle movements around a black hole, or even about an itch that had been forming on the back of his leg. Everything, for the first time in his life, shut down, and he was able to focus his entire attention on one topic. They raced onwards, at a speed which should be impossible, and even surprised him. His mind had never been so focused as to only think on one topic before, it had always been sidetracked by something. He eventually reached a conclusion about half a second later, after ruling out most of the unlikely possibilities. Cornelius : "No, that''s not possible... Tell me the real reason.. Is this a bet, to see how the nerd will react? Or is my family paying you to keep watch on their little genius? A competitor perhaps? Trying to sway me to their side before I grew up? Why stalk me so intensely? Did the government send you to keep me under watch since I hacked their servers?" He paused for a breath... Cornelius : "Tell me the real re-mmph" Something cut him off, his eyes focused, they had glazed over as his entire attention had been focused on his unruly and rampaging thoughts, but now, he was brought back to reality. There stood a perfect girl, of extreme intellect, with massive breasts and a perfect figure. A girl with outstanding manners and poise, one who could get anywhere she wanted in the world. She had cut him off, by sealing his lips with hers, pressing her large chest into his, and wrapping her arms around his neck. She opened her closed eyes, staring seductively into his, He stared right back, unable to find an ounce of faltering or even the slightest hint of mistruth in her bright blue eyes. He was bewildered. He only saw eyes of true passion and emotion. Was she telling the truth? Veronica : "I could never lie to my Husband... I love you..." After the second admission of love, she once more smothered him in a rather forceful kiss, pushing him up against the lockers as she pressed him downwards. His briefly collected thoughts, once again fragmented. He knew that what she said was essentially impossible, barring love at first sight, as they had never gotten to know each other... They have never talked or done anything remotely close to interaction, she just smiled and stared at him. He guessed she was waiting for him to make the first move, but if so, for what purpose? His other thoughts, couldn''t exactly remain rational under the current circumstances, where a supermodel level girl was pushing him up against lockers locking his lips with hers and forcing her body onto his. A small bit of his rationality managed to make it out of the stranglehold of lust and confusion, to once more scan her eyes to see if he could find any underlying motives, but once again he saw nothing that she hadn''t stated. He once again thought back to her words, and, half reluctantly broke off the kiss, pushing her backwards. Cornelius : "H-Husband?" Veronica : "Of course!" At seeing his reaction, She let out a smile, Veronica : "I have loved you ever since you persuaded me to love you... I chose you and you chose me, I love you so much that neither words nor actions can even scratch the surface... And I will always love you, no matter how many times you die, no matter where you go, no matter what happens to you... I will always be searching for you..." At that she hugged him and kissed him again, more forcefully this time. He was baffled by her audacity and her forwardness about this. Her words weren''t making any sense. Cornelius : "I chose you and you chose me??? Your words have no rational meaning??!?! What are you even saying??" Veronica : "You will know in time my love, but for now, we have somewhere to be..." She took his arm and pulled him toward the principles office, causing him to go stumbling after her. They were given a stern talking to, but after they proved that they knew the concepts that hadn''t even been explained yet, the Principle let them go with a sigh. He knew that they didn''t even belong in high-school. College was perhaps too limiting for them as well. He sent them back to class with a warning to not be so bold or disrespectful next time. They accepted the lecture halfheartedly, and went back. They walked into the classroom, Veronica still linking her arms with Cornelius. The teacher saw this and was angered, so he put his hands between them, and shoved them apart, creating a several foot gap between them. Teacher : "Break is up lovebirds, Guess you didn''t learn your less-Huh??" The room started glowing brightly, whiting out the walls and windows. Veronica''s watch started beeping very rapidly. She was slightly dazed by what was happening, but when she glanced at her watch, her normal smile faded and was replaced with a scowl and a look of dread. She instantly pushed back against the teachers arms, reaching for her beloved. Alas, everything went white, as she was mere inches away from him. Revamp Chapter #2 Wow mixed review much? Anyway, I will probably be doing BOTH of these at the same time, I was just wondering where to take the other one, (and a few comments pointing out what I did wrong came up, for example that he wasn''t guarded) Anyway, I have (actually) about 3 chapters of the other one saved up. I think I will break this one off and post it as its own story (A different rendition maybe? I just dont have a decent description for it yet...) Anyway, the pole is for priority on one story or the other... (Of course, I will probably not pay attention to it, and just write when I want to write, but it might possibly have maybe probably some partial effect on how I manage my time... maybe?) ---------------------------- The circle stopped glowing as the ceremony completed. The king looked at the new arrivals, trying to judge their worth, but found that he was unable to at the moment. He looked at the dozen or so arrivals, overjoyed at their large number, as the ancient records stated that most likely the groups would be under 5 people. The group seemed to be all young adults except for one man. They were a mix of both genders, and had similar features between them all, the same skin color and similar hair colors. His curious gaze fell upon one exception. A yellow haired person, who appeared to be frantically searching the room. She was beautiful, even more so then his daughter, who was heralded as the best in the nobility. He glanced around, seeing the lecherous and lust filled gazes that the nobles were giving her. He knew that he would have to shield her from them, or risk losing the cooperation of the rest of the group. He took a hand to rub his temple at the trouble she would bring. Herald : "Welcome Heroes, Yo-" Blonde Girl : "YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!!!" At those words, most of the room was stunned, but even they could not predict what happened next. She ran over to the only adult from the group, and grabbed his shirt, then proceeded to throw him on the ground. She appeared to be extremely furious. Veronica : "I WAS THIS FUCKING CLOSE!!! YOU JUST HAD TO PUSH US APART AS THE SPATIAL DISTORTION FORMED DIDN''T YOU!?!?!?!" The man seemed baffled, at both her extreme turn in attitude and the turn of events. The king motioned to a guard, to go restrain the girl before something happened. The guard nodded in response, and went behind her. When she noticed the guard approaching her, her eyes went wide with anger and rage. She flicked her hand in his general direction, and everyone in the room watched, wide eyed, as the knight flew backwards thirty some-odd feet, before crashing into a table. The girl seemed to come back to her senses, a massive scowl on her face, as she turned to the King. Veronica : "You...You have just made a BIG mistake Mr..." The mages, who had preformed the ceremony had started to put up shields around the nobles and the king, trying to protect them from the rampaging girl, due to the unexpected course of events. They had never expected a hero to be so... unreasonable... after the summon, so they had neglected to set up any countermeasures beforehand. The girl reached into a small pouch she was carrying, and produced a small silvery metallic object. She pointed it at the king, and spoke again. Veronica : "What is going on?" The herald started to speak, causing her to redirect her fury towards him. Herald :""I am sure that you must be surprised at this sudden event in your life, but please, do not be alarmed! We have summoned you into our world! You have the opportunity to become the strongest people on our planet! To slay great beasts! To destroy entire armies with your might! Of course, all of this will happen in due time, for now please calm down and listen to our tale of sorrow and grief..." The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Veronica : "Tell me, there should be more of us... where are they?" The king was baffled at the turn of events. He had no idea what she was talking about. They had only summoned these people, no one else had showed up. This was their first attempt as well. Herald : "Please hero, be calm. I am sure their must be some sort of misunderstanding..." He did know one thing however, this girl, she was not normal. King :*Could she be???* One of the other heroes walked up to her, attempting to calm her down. Boy : "Chill Veronica, chilll.... Its kind of obvious that he isn''t in the room right? Perhaps he wasn''t summoned?" Veronica looked at the boy, slightly lowering her weapon, but then shook her head. Veronica : "That doesn''t explain anything. This was targeted on him..." Boy : "Targeted on who?? Veronica, you aren''t making any sense?? Where did you get that thing?? Perhaps you should just put it down, and let them explain what is going on... Right?" She glanced at the room. It appeared they weren''t taking her seriously. She then looked at the king, and at those around her. She flicked a switch on the metallic device, causing it to produce a high humming sound. The ears of everyone in the room pricked up at that sound. It was... unnatural. Something out of place in this medieval castle. One of the warriors next to the king bent down Veronica : "Tell me, how do incompetent bafoons like you humans, come into contact with Maximar technology? Where did you get this? Why was this allowed by the Stratovian council!?! And above all.... WHERE IS MY FUCKING HUSBAND!?!?" At her words, various murmurs sounded from the assembled people. The king had caught the word. The word which should only refer to living gods. The ones who settled in their sky cities and watched over them. That weapon, it looked different then most. It appeared harmless to him, but the way she was wielding it, she acted like it was a powerful weapon. King : *Is this a bluff? Or is that a powerful weapon of their world?* The king motioned to more guards, ordering them and the mages to surround her, and take the weapon away from her. King : "And why should I listen to a girl? You probably haven''t even known a man yet? Who is this husband of which you speak?" Veronica : "YOU DARE!?!!? I ought to roast you where you stand..." She went quiet. Then took a deep breath. She appeared to have calmed down. Veronica : "It appears that we are not getting anywhere with this." She lowered her hand which had the weapon, and spoke loudly. Veronica : "I am Vincenza Scylax, wife of high Primus Ajax Scylax. My husband and I were "summoned" here through a spatial distortion created with extinct Maximar technology... Inside the spatial distortion is appears that I was separated from him thanks to a certain human. I am currently extremely aggravated because of the unknown circumstances where my essentially infant husband has been isolated with nary a hope at surviving if something more dangerous then your pathetic race were to find him..." Revamp #3 For the record, I will be doing both... AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHA SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PATHETIC PLANET KAKAROT!!! Well then, now that my power trip is out of the way, take this chapter... Btw, those ppl who clicked option number 5, you know you you are tsundere readers, btw I hate you too :D I guess I have to put this here... This has a "slightly" graphic death... ok more then slightly, but still? -------------------------------- An unconscious body was lying in the dense forests, surrounded by trees and snow. Within the dense forest, not far from the body, a hulking beast was lurking. It was massive, roughly one and a half meters tall, and four meters long. It appeared to be some type of cat, with massive fangs protruding from its narrow mouth, and a long narrow tail behind its sleek yet powerful body. It had pitch black fur and yellow slits for eyes. If one were to see it, they might call it an oversized panther. Despite its size, it moved silently, searching for its next meal. It sighted this body, laying unconscious, and stalked closer. One step at a time, leaving hardly any impressions in the snow as it padded closer to its prey. As it was about to pounce, movement caught its eye. It twitched its head to the side, trying to ascertain what had been able to sneak up on it. Seeing nothing but the trees, and hearing nothing but the rustling of branches, the predetor looked back to its prey, which still layed unconscious on the ground. It started approaching again, cautious as to what was lurking around, wondering, as an animal does in an instinctual way, if what was waiting was prey or predator. Perhaps it would steal the prey, perhaps it would make the lunch all the more satisfying. As such "thoughts", which were simply random streams of subconscious thought, ran through its head it came within range to pounce upon the body. It lowered itself to the forest floor, lowering its imense profile into something much more manageable and less noticable. It flexed its claws, digging small holes in the ground from their sharpness. But as it was readying for the jump, something broke its concentration, more movement. This time, from the other side. With catlike reflexes (Althought I guess it would just be cat reflexes because it is a cat?)it turned its head, once again, finding nothing but trees and open air. This time, something actually was there, and it knew it, it had heard the movement, seen the movement, and yet, nothing was there. Confident that its sleeping prey was no match for it, it let out a low warning growl to whatever was lurking. This time, almost instantly, a sound greeted it, the sound of a breaking branch. It''s world turned upside down as something sent it flying a massive distance. It was able to recover its balance, landing on its paws, yet it still found no attacker. Bewildered, it backed up against a tree, glancing in every direction, ears perked, and legs prepped. If something larger then it appeared, it was ready to run at only a moments notice. Its prey shot up, obviously awake now, although that didn''t matter to it. Instead, it was fighting something much more dangerous After a second or two of it being on high alert, the sound happened again, although this time, the panther was ready for it, jumping away from where it was with insane speed. In the blink of an eye it was sailing through the air. Or at least thats how it should have been... Just after takeoff, a strong force and a sharp pain had pulled it back to earth, causing a large thud to sound out as it hit the forest floor. It glanced back to see what mysterious force was impeeding it, only to see a gnarly wooden hand grasping its tail. The arm''s origin was the tree which it had backed up too. It had absolutely no idea, whatever an idea was in an animalistic brain, why a tree was attacking it, much less why a tree was moving. Its vision changed again, as it was pulled by this massive arm sprouting from a tree. It was swung around, much like a bola, or a sling. As the panther let out a yelp at the sudden centripital force, a second hand grasped its back end, and the tree clenched downwards. A sound that would make a person cringe rang out, as the back legs of this panther were shattered under the raw might of the tree. After hearing the sound, and feeling the back end cave in, the treant grabbed the tail again, and proceeded to send the panther straight into the ground. A moment later, it hit, caving in the hard forest floor, leaving a three meter wide depression a half meter deep, and within it was the panther struggling to get up. The Treant grasped the battered and defeated panther once more, a gnarled oversized hand on either half. It then proceeded to pull, ripping the panther in half, bathing the wood of the treant blood red. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. The wood seemed to absorb the blood, as it dried abnormally quickly, and gave off a faint glow afterwards. The treant now approached the awake human. It lowered its head, something that was rather difficult to distinguish from the rest of the trunk, so that its eyes, which were no than sap pits, might have a better look at the human. It horizontally broke apart a piece of trunk under its eye slits, and spoke in a voice which was like the wind through the leaves, and yet as deep as the moaning of a falling tree. Treant : "Whhhhhaaat briiiings a hhhhuuuuuummmaaann to the blood oak foooohhrest?" The human just stared at the talking tree with a face like someone who just realized they were probably going insane. Man : "Well, this is a first... Am I tripping? The light forced my mind unconscious and here I am in a dream world maybe? Do I really have such fantasies? To be saved from an oversized cat by a talking tree? Perhaps my sleep cycle was interupted and thats why I am conscious? So many possiblities..." The treant, at noticing he was being ignored, slammed his fist down next to the human. Treant : "Exxxxplain yourself hhhhuummannnn... YYYYou dare to rrrrramble on when in the presence of the feared blllloooooddd ooaaakkkkk qqquueeeeeennn?" Man : "You? A queen? Damnit... Now this is really pushing it... I thought I was more into people like Veronica, and... well I guess only Veronica?" Treant : "SSSSUUCCCHHHH IINNNNNSSSOOOOLLLLLEEEEENNNNCEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!" The treant lifted its hand, preparing to smash down. Treant : "AAANNNSSSWWEEERRR MY QQUUUESSSTION HUUUMMMAAANNNN!!! ORRR DDDIIIIEEE!!" Man : "What am I doing here? Well truth be told, even I dont know... And although killing me might allow me out of this, I am not sure I want to leave my fantasy dream yet without knowing full well just what my deep hidden fantasies are, whether its getting eaten by a cat, or saved by a talking tree, or something else I shouldnt leave yet. This could actually be helpful in a strange sense of the word. Anyway, I cant allow you to kill me. And since this is my dream world, I reign supreme here, as such, begone. With that he motioned with his hand, and suddenly a massive gust of wind forced the treant backwards, creating a loud rumble. Man : "Hmm, I wanted it to disappear but instead it was knocked backwards... So I guess I dont have total control here? What if I were to ----" ??? : "That is quite enough human...no, I guess I should call you a Stratovian right?" A voice interupted his musings, a harmonic melodic voice, as soothing as wind through a tree''s branches, or as bright and happy as a birds chirping. It rang out from behind him, causing him to turn, yet find nothing. Voice : "Silly Stratovian, you must be new here, I am not confined to a place, I..." The voice spread out, rustling the branches of every tree, flowing with the winds, it was ever changing, dynamic, fliud, all encompasing... Suddenly, the spread out voice condensed, forming a solid voice, directly behind him, this voice was of a female. Female voice : "Can choose to be wherever I wish within my domain." This time, when he turned he saw a young woman, clothed in flowing green robes, which appeared as if they were made of the wind itself. Her hair was blood red, as was her skin. She was much like a human, yet she was so... divine... in appearence, that one would never classify her as a human. Man : "Interesting..." The Woman, who had been studying him the entire time, spoke as well. Woman : "Interesting indeed..." Man : "I take it, I can do... this?" He motioned with his hand, bringing the body of the woman floating closer to him, until she was just about cradled in his arms, at that point the wind vanished, and he caught her. Woman : "Oh I guess you can, but I can also do..." At that moment, her body disintegrated, turning into the winds themselves, only to materialize a few feet away. Woman : "This..." Man : "But that isn''t fair, its MY dream, I should be able to do what I want..." Woman : "Your.. dream?" Man : "But of course, as there is no other logical explanation for all of this.... One moment I''m in my classroom being lectured by my teacher, the next, I''m here." Woman : "Oh, really now? Might I ask, what is your name?" Man : "Me?Call me Master, Bitch! My name is Cornelius, it is a pleasure to meet you mysterious tree/ wind lady..." Woman : "Call me Talma..." ------------------------------ DUH DUH DUDU!!!! Jk? Well anyway, the
