    Hello, I''m the "hero" of the story. Hahaha, oh that''s grand. There''s no such thing. Well. Anyways, why don''t I tell you about myself and how all this weird stuff started. My name is Chandler Fields. My height is average at 5''8". Average for an American, pretty tall here in japan. I have black hair and light blue eyes, thanks to my German father and Japanese mother. I live at an orphanage called the Grey House... Well... before the summoning that is.


    I was having a normal day. A day like any other at the orphanage. First I woke up at 5:00 AM, yes 5:00 AM, all you teenagers giving me a weird look, because I am 15 years old which makes me one of the oldest at the orphanage. At the Grey House, how creative they were with that name, if you are older than 13 years old, the rule is that you have to get up early and help with making breakfast, making lunches, and generally cleaning up the mess the brats made the day before. I guess it''s to teach responsibility for when we leave?


    So, I got up and did the routine of all that and in the middle of making my own lunch, I hear a very loud <BOO!!!!> in my ear, and nearly shit myself. Phew, that was close! I turn around to see a girl that I''ve known since I was six, standing behind me. Her name is Tsubaki, she doesn''t have a last name because she was found in front of the orphanage as a baby. I''ve known since I was ten and a half because that''s when I came here. Anyways, back to Tsubaki. She is slightly shorter than me, has long hair, with very long bangs that cover most of her face making her look like Sadako, which I used to pick on her for. I don''t know why she''s always hit on.

    <It''s still night time...> I say tiredly.

    <Go away.  The sun isn''t up, Its 5:00 AM. It''s NIGHT!>


    <Okay... M-i-s-t-e-r T-e-c-h-n-i-c-a-l> She says in a very long drawn out voice that she knows I find annoying.


    <Bitch> I say. Then, we  both start laughing.


    Yeah, we''re weird. deal with it. After we''re done laughing, I ask how I may help her and she wants me to make her lunch, which causes a few others of my age group at the orphanage to ask the same thing. That''s because I''m the best cook, but why do I have to make their lunches, ugh, make you''re own I want to say but I end up making them anyways. Afterwards, I get all my stuff for school ready and head out.


    I go through the normal school day like always. I listen quietly during all the lessons, went to my favorite class Chemistry, it''s amazing what you can do with different combinations of elements. I also had to  listen to the stupid chatter of the students, deal with all the idiots who bully the orphans, because nearly all of us go here, and then I get to gym. That''s when I first noticed something weird. As soon as I waked into the gym I felt a pulling source, like gravity suddenly increased, and I fell down. One of my classmates walked in and the pressure suddenly went away. They saw me on the ground and asked if I''m okay. I told them I just fell.


    Nothing else weird happened for the rest of the period. I thought it must have been my imagination. Boy, was I wrong. After gym I went to the locker room to get a shower because gym at our school is physical fitness to my chagrin. We have to do pull ups, sit ups, push ups, etc. I was very sweaty. So, I went in to get a shower, we have those nice stall type ones, so naturally, I completely undressed inside, and started my shower. Big Mistake. After 2 minutes in the shower, a very bright light shined into the shower, so I grabbed my towel thinking that someone was going to prank me, but suddenly I was falling. HUH!!!????? IIII''MMMMM FAAALLLLLLLIIIIIINNNNGGGG!!!!?????

 Chapter two Appearing in front of the king

    Hello, dear observer, Chandler here. Now we''re at the point where I began this story.


    All I can see right now is a whole bunch of colors flying past me rapidly. Am I high? I don''t remember doing anything...? Those drains didn''t look too clean in the shower... Where fumes coming out of it? Did I pass out or die or something? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? while I was thinking all this I was falling rapidly with a towel in my hand, Oh... Wait. Scratch that, it just flew out of my hand. Crap. There goes any comfort for whenever I wake up...


    After a little while, I noticed that the was a very bright white light below me  and I was falling directly towards it. wait a minute...  What!? The falling!? IT JUST GOT FASTER!? WHOA WHOA WHOOOOOAAAAAAA HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Huh? Summoning? Like in a light novel? No way... In the middle of my trance I hear someone say <But why is he naked?>


    and I snap out of it and look down realizing that I am indeed naked...


    <......................................oh fuck...> I said very slightly, my getting bright red. Towel, towel, towel, where the fuck is my towel!!! Then I see it on the ground and  I grab it quickly and wrap it around myself. This action did not go without notice.


    <.............................................> the king looking person silently watched my embarrassing  display.


    <.............................................> Ugh, what are you looking at? leave me alone.


    the king bursts out laughing. Then the rest of the royal family(?) starts to laugh out loud. Except for the princess(?), she''s hiding in a corner.


    < Mind telling me your name, Young one? I''m sorrow about suddenly summoning you, you must have been taking a bath when we summoned you, huh?> the king(?) asks me with a smile on his face.


    <Umm... My name is Chandler Fields...Uhh... Are you a king?> I asked stupidly, because I''m still disoriented from the fall.


    <HOW DARE YOU CALL HIS LORDSHIP A KING!!!> one of the knights in the background yells indignantly.


    <It''s okay. Stand down. He is not from our world, so he does not know. Where are my manners? I shall introduce myself. I am Emperor Xuttomor L''Fey the third, one of the five ruling Emperors who each have their summoned hero. I am quite a step above a king''s pay grade, young one.> he says jokingly.

    <I am afraid we are running low on time so we should...> The Emperor begins to say but in the middle of him talking I start having an intense ache in my chest, which then the pain of spreads to the rest of my body, causing me to scream out in pain.


    <AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH> The pain!? It feels like I am being burned from the inside!? What the fuck is it now!?

    All I can see is just pitch black darkness seems like I passed out from pain. I can hear people talking around me, but I can''t make out what they are saying. It feels like someone put something on top of me. Now, the rest of my consciousness is fading.... so tired....


    I wake up on the same spot of the floor that I was on when I was summoned. The Emperor and the magicians are still there, but everyone else has left. How long was I there?


    <You''re up! Thank goodness! I thought that as soon as we summoned you we were about to lose you.> the emperor says noticing that I have awakened.


    I stand up noticing that I have a blanket on top of me which I then wrap around me like a robe.


    <Urgh... w.what happened?> I asked.


    < Every being that is summoned from a place that does not have mana is affected by what you just went through. The mana in the surrounding air is normally absorbed by everything  in our world and living things have it bonded to their blood, that''s how we naturally recover mana, so that we can use magic. What happened to you, is that the mana forcefully came into your body and began bonding to your blood, which was rejecting it, so more mana came in to replace the rejected mana. When that happens it can cause pressure to build up in your body which could cause it to explode. There is a procedure which we are supposed to go through to lessen the risk so that does not happen. I spent too much time on the introductions causing this to happen. I apologize for that. You are very lucky to have survived...> The emperor says with a regretful voice.


    <Wait... Nothing''s wrong with me right?>


    <Nothing is different than before you were summoned except that you have mana bonded to your  blood now. If it wasn''t so you would have blown up, hence the reason why we didn''t move you, fearing that could trigger it.>


    <sigh... Thank god that didn''t happen>


    <Ok. Well then since the worst of the summoning is over, why don''t we get you somewhere to sleep, even thought you were out since noon.>


    <what time is it now?> I ask curious as to how to how long I have been out.

    12 hours, huh? well better than being out for a few days, or being in a coma.  The king gets up and then tells me to follow him while his guards follow us, and  I look around while we''re walking, because heck I''m curious as to where I''ve been brought to. This place is so big! The kids at the orphanage would get a kick out of coming here... wait... the orphanage... oh crap, I completely forgot with all this crap happening.


    <Excuse me, your majesty?>


    <Yes?>


    <Umm.... I don''t mean to be rude, but is it possible to go back?>


    <hahaha, you don''t have to worry about being rude, young one. But I am sorry to tell you that the summoning magic is only usable every hundred years. Heroes like yourself are gifted something like immortality, but what''s the point of going back if everyone you love is already dead...? That''s why I didn''t want to summon a hero in the first place... Sorry, lad, but heroes are a lonely existence.>


    <I was kind of expecting something like that.... doesn''t make it any easier to hear though... but immortality?>


    <It''s not actual immortality, you just have a longer life. You can still die from illness, poison, the blade, anything but age is what kills most heroes, the oldest hero lived to be around two hundred and ninety three.>


    < Ah. here we are lad. This shall be your room from now on. It''s pretty bare but we wouldn''t know what the next hero would like. Well...try to get some sleep, I know you have a lot to think about, but you''ll need you energy tomorrow. We have to test out how you are in combat and in magic, to help you survive this world, then get you a status crystal so can get stronger easier.> The king says before leaving.

 Chapter Three Mana affinity and stats

Also my parents just told me that the computer was fixed, go figure. sigh. anyways as you can see I decide to use bold instead of all caps now. I was also trying to show my drawing of Chandler but that failed... I also still don''t know how to use textboxes, so hopefully it won''t turn out the same.

    I spent that night thinking about how many things I was told about that day and about why I got summoned in the first place. I though about how this world has magic, which is pretty cool. I wonder what that''s gonna be like? The Emperor also said that there was a status crystal as well. Is it gonna let me instinctually let me know how strong I am? Or is it gonna be like a game? I also thought about how I would never see the kids from the orphanage again, never see my friends ever again, and how worried Tsubaki and the caretaker lady must be. There isn''t even a way back... Not for another hundred years... What the heck... At least I get a longer life span out of this... Ha... Haha... Thinking about all these things I finally fall asleep.

    <ugh...> I say waking up, after hearing an enthusiastic good morning. I wonder who it is. I know it''s not Tsubaki... Which of the the orphanage kids is it? That''s what I was thinking before I got up rubbing my eyes before hearing


    <oh my! ...you''re pretty well endowed huh...> someone in front of me says, snapping me out of my stupor, which makes me open my eyes real wide and see a girl near my age in a maid dress.  She''s looking away from me, making me realize that I am still naked... And you guys should know what happens to a man''s lower member in the morning... My face became really red.


    <umm... They didn''t leave any clothes out... I.... I don''t do this normally!> I say hurriedly covering up my privates.


    <ufufufufu. That''s okay. I''m a maid... most nobles will try to do more than show themselves naked to a maid you know...> she says jokingly which makes me even more embarrassed.


    <would you like me to help you get dressed, young master, or do you wish for me to leave your clothes here?> she asks slyly.

    <ok young master>she says while smiling knowingly, then leaves the room.


    After she leaves I hurriedly grab the clothes and put them on. Ugh...! Sigh... Why did that have to happen!? So embarrassing! During my inner turmoil, Ms. Maid knock on the door and ask if she is allowed to come back in, which I then tell her she can.


    She comes in and fixes the clothes that I was given, to how they were supposed to be worn. She then proceeds to tell me that the emperor has called for me and that we should get going. She asks me to follow her and we both leave the room. We walked through the giant halls of the castle, where I learned that her name is Flem and that she was very good at telepathy magic.


    Anyways we walked through all these halls passing a whole bunch of rooms. They''re all so big! This place is huge! Anyways, when we got to where we were supposed to be I see a pedestal in the middle of the room with a dull grey orb on it. Next to it there is a tall man and the emperor talking to each other. They both see us and call me over. Flem bows silently and then leaves.


    <Ah, there you are young hero! I see the clothes that we gave you fit properly. Are you ok with wearing my son''s old clothes?>


    <oh... Yeah they fit..>


    <good, good, that''s very good> he says with a sad smile on his face. That makes me realize... I didn''t see a prince when I was summoned. OH...


    <ahem> the tall man clears his throat.


    <you majesty... Shouldn''t we get started?>


    <oh... Yes... Right. How silly of me to waste time. Go right ahead khraghm > the emperor says. (Khraghm is pronounced gram)


    <ok, mr. Naked wonder, why don''t we find out your affinity for magic.>


    <... W..w... What did you call m...me?> I stammer, my face ears immediately going red. As you can tell this is not my comfort zone. I mean, who would be comfortable with being made fun of for being seen naked!?


    <hahaha, oh boy, I see what you meant by he''s a funny one your Majesty, Hahahaha. That''s the nickname the castle has for you, I mean you were summoned naked, and Ms. Flem did inform us on what happened, hahahaha>


    <I was trying to forget about both of those events.........> I say so lightly they can barely hear it. Yep I''m going into denial. I was summoned naked? No way!


    <ok, ok, I''m just messing with you boy. I''ll introduce myself and then we can get started. I am the best at controlling mana at this castle, so thus my title is mana master. As you have heard his magesty call me, my name is khraghm. It''s nice to meet you Chandler.>

    <very polite aren''t we? That''s a good thing, so don''t lose it> the emperor says jokingly.


    <ok now let me explain what it is we shall be doing here. You see that orb on top of the pedestal? I''m going to have you put your hand on top of it, while I pour in non-elemental mana. Only someone with extreme control of mana or someone with an affinity towards non-elemental magic can do so. Magic such as mind magic, physical magic, or healing magic fit into this category, but keep in mind, that most mind magic is illegal other than the exception of using telepathy magic. Anyways, back to the point. When you touch the orb, your mana will naturally be drawn out, the material of the orb causing it to do so, and the color of the orb will change based on what affinity is best for you. An affinity in magic does not affect what magic you can''t use, they only make it so that the magic you have an affinity to is easier to control and is you''re strongest to use. Now let''s go on to how the orb shall react once it recognizes what your affinity is. A fire magic affinity will make it turn red, Lightning will turn it yellow, Water will turn it blue, earth will turn it orange, while wind will turn it green. Although very rare, there is the non-elemental and the light/darkness affinities. Non-elemental will show up as purple. Interesting enough, you can''t have the light affinity without the dark affinity. It''s kind of like life if you think about it, you can''t have the good without the bad.  The light/darkness affinity will show up on the orb as white and black swirling together. If you have multiple affinities then they will show up as the designated affinity colors swirling around each other. To determine how good your affinity towards an element is, the brighter the color, the higher your affinity towards the element is. Also, the further away from the orb that the glow swirls around the it, the higher your potential amount of mana. Phew... Said a mouthful didn''t I? Thank you for listening so intently through that, most people start giving this very blank look throughout that whole spiel. Now, why don''t we get started.> khraghm says with a wry smile on his face, and then gestures towards the orb.


    <ok!> I say, crack my knuckles, then excitedly place my hand on top of the orb, which earns me a smile from the mana master.


    <wow...even they way he acts is the same as...> the emperor mutters under his breath. He said so it so silently that no one heard it, while wearing a sad weary smile. We were all too focused on the orb to notice though. The orb slightly glows dull grey for a moment then goes blank again.

    <no.... Reaction...?> I finally manage to choke out. Am I not going to be able to use magic at all?


    <maybe if I put in more mana? His affinity might be so high that this level of mana wouldn''t be able to draw it out... Yeah, that sounds about right... It''s happened before... There''s never been a hero without an affinity towards at least one type of magic...> khraghm says worriedly. What does that mean...? I really can''t use magic...? How... How unfair... I... I am forced to come to this world that I know nothing about... And I can''t learn magic to defend myself..? After another ten minutes the mana master finally says something that almost makes me cry.


    <...................... It seems that you really don''t have any affinity towards magic > he says. He sees the look of utter defeat on my face and hurriedly says


    <even though you do not have an affinity towards magic, you are still able to use it! The glow from the orb earlier proves it!> which makes me feel better, but not by much. Hah... Haha... I laugh weakly in mind. There goes the Mage route... I''d rather not have to do melee fighting with fantasy creatures, the ones I''ve read about in novels are scary as fuck!


    After that major disappointment the emperor tells me that we need to go get my status crystal with a weary look on his face, I guess he is as disappointed as I am, he did summon me. I was going to ask him if the status is like an mmo type, but then I realize that they probably don''t have that here so I keep my mouth shut. We go outside the castle and into a market looking place. I guess the emperor has guards hidden here and there... Oh there''s one ... Anyways, we walk over towards this shady looking person with an eyepatch... He has an eyepatch! He''s the villain! Hahaha, oh how cliche that would be. Jokes aside, he does look pretty shifty.


    <ah, hella, wat may ah do fur ya? Ah geez it''s the emperor!? Forgive me, but  wat shall ya need, yar highniss?> shady guy says. (Trying to make him sound uneducated but failing...)


    <hey, you don''t have to be so reserved you know? We did adventure together, where''s that rough attitude that everyone in the party knew and loved? Huh, Guile?> the emperor said with the brightest smile.


    <sigh... You''re gunna git me in trouble ya know... These damn Knights of yurs love ta pick at people like me.> when Guile said this, the king started to pout. No... I''m serious here. He really started to pout. After a minute of this Guile finally gave in and started to have an animated chat with the emperor, when the talk between them finally ended Guile said

The strongest one at that?


    <ok I''m back. Be careful not to open this jus yet> Guile says carefully handing a small black box to the emperor. What, is he proposing to him? Just kidding. Anyways, after we get the status crystal I introduce myself to him and he asks me jokingly to join the guild if I am strong and then we leave.


    When we get back the emperor and I both go back to the room I was summoned in. I wonder why. Guess I''m about to find out.


    < Chandler, can you come over here for a moment?> the emperor says.


    < umm. Is this about the status crystal..? This isn''t going to hurt is it?> I ask worried.


    < Unfortunately yes, anything that attaches itself to your body through mana will painful. Especially when it comes to things with magic. There is something I can do to lessen the time you have to endure it though.> I ask what it is, because if I don''t have to go through pain then I won''t. He tells me how the crystal will absorb surrounding mana to fuse the crystal to my body and blood bound mana is absorbed the easiest. So he''ll have all the magicians surround me and pour in mana. He also tells me that he won''t be in the room because absorbing so much mana will exhaust whoever is in the room. Sounds like a pain... Literally... Do I have to...? Well yeah they are trying to help me survive so I guess so...


    We start with status crystal binding by opening the box that has the status crystal in it and it flies out onto my sternum ! and damn does it hurt!!! Why can''t it be quick and painless...? I hate pain! Aahhhhhh!!! OwowowowowowowOW! Fuck! Why the fuck does everything have to be painful!? After what feels like an eternity the pain finally starts to fade away.


    <oh wow you didn''t let out a peep during that whole thing. Your willpower is amazing... Even I screamed out in pain during my status crystal bonding.> said a very tired looking khraghm. When did he get here? Oh if course. He must have been one of the magicians brought over to help. Sorry khraghm...


    Afterwards, everyone but the emperor  clears out of the room.


    <how are you feeling?> the emperor asks.


    <I''m okay now, but that hurt like crazy. You didn''t tell me that would hurt THAT much...> even though I kinda figured it would...


    <A famous mage in this world, did a study, on whether knowing beforehand that it''s going to hurt a lot, and the result was that if you know then it will hurt more. Has to with psychological studies. Sorry for not telling.> psychological studies? I thought this world was going to be like Europe , before the renaissance based on how the knights are dressed, but they''re surprisingly educated? Oh yeah summoning heroes... Maybe they used their knowledge? Also, how come I get the feeling that he''s gonna keep a lot of secrets from me? I will need to be more cautious about how I do things here... I can''t be too trusting, or I might end up dead or terribly injured...


    <ok ok, let''s save the blame game for later. Damn, now I have a headache...> khraghm said irritably.


    <your highness, since I''m not feeling too well, may I leave?>


    <yes. You may. I can explain what status is to the youmg man>


    <thank you very much> khraghm said and then left. What was his problem? I know he used a lot of mana... Oh, there''s the problem. I remember him saying earlier, something like mana is bonded to the blood. Maybe whenever you use magic, it also spends some of the blood...? That would make sense seeing how exhausted he looks, because when you suddenly lose blood, that can make you disoriented, tired, irritable, or if you lose enough blood could make you organs shut down! How scary!


    <don''t worry, he''ll be fine. He just needs to rest.> the emperor says thinking I''m worried, when I''m just sitting here thinking how scary it would be to use magic.


    <anywhoo, why don''t we get started with that explanation, huh?>


    <to use the status crystal, all you have to do is think [status], and a status screen that only you can see will appear in front of you. On it you will see your name, age, and attributes. These attributes come in 3 tiers. The higher the tier, the higher the boost in whatever that attribute specifies, but it''s also harder for them to increase. The lower the tier is, such as the lowest, tier one, increase very easily but there isn''t as much of a boost to the stat.The tiers of each attribute are as follows

    There is also a special type of growth to these attribute that will appear as a symbol on the status crystal and  will also appear as your alignment on the status screen. I will now tell you the names of these marks, what they look like, and how they affect your growth. Here they are:


    The knight- appears as a Knights helmet with a shield behind it on the status crystal and is also known as the "power" type growth. People with this symbol on their status crystal are gifted with excellent growth in strength and vitality.


    The thief- appears as cloak with a large dagger behind it on the status crystal and is also known as the "speed" type growth. People with this symbol on their status crystal are gifted with excellent growth in agility and dexterity.


    The wiseman- appears as an owl with a wizard''s staff behind it on the status crystal and is also known as the "spell" type growth. People with this symbol on their status crystal are gifted with excellent growth in intelligence and wisdom.


    The master of all trades- appears as a sword, a dagger, and a wizard''s staff crossing each other. It is the best out of all the others and is known as the "balanced" growth type and is gifted in excellence growth of all the stats.


    The inept- God, why do I even have to say this one? None of the heroes have even been one of these. Anyways... The mark of the inept is a cracked, broken in half sword, with an eye that has tears coming out of it, which is located behind the sword. It isn''t known as any type of growth. I mean why would it? It doesn''t have any gift towards making any stats grow. To be an inept would be a very terrible fate indeed. Too terrible...>

 Chapter Four The Combat Master

    <table><tbody><tr><td>Hello, Author here! I am going to answer some questions that some people had. There were people who said that they were wondering when the gender bender tag would come into play. Click the spoiler tag if you want to know. <b>Spoiler</b> : <input type=''button'' value=''Show'' class=''spoilerButton''>I am sad to say for the people who thought it would happen soon, well sorry, but no, that won''t happen until volume two (Which will be around twenty chapters in). It has to do with his reincarnation. Another, thing that I saw, was that when I am going to have him reincarnate (Yes, that is what the RE: in the title means) there was very mixed reactions to the question of whether he will or will not reincarnate as a girl. As for that I simply do not know yet, I am not that far in my drafts to figure that one out yet. For that I will post a poll and see how it goes from there.


    A post that I saw that made me think I was a little bland on the descriptions of the Tier system for the attributes. I did not reply because this chapter shall describe them better, otherwise I would have. But, thank you for letting me know! Also, I do read every post. It is really helpful when you guys point out something so that I may fix it, or explain what is. It also helps my writing and makes it easier for me to learn to get better.


    I did notice that I have gotten at least twenty more followers than last time and a few more favorites. That makes me really happy to see that happen, and it gives me more motivation to type the story!     < I am sorry for summoning you here, young one. You are going to have a very hard time surviving in this world... This world is not kind to the inept... You''ll end up becoming ridiculed as the Inept Hero...! If I wasn''t the one who summoned you then you probably wouldn''t have become an inept...     <To me that sounds like something out of your control happened and you shouldn''t be tormenting yourself like that. Also, the fact that I was summoned as an inept that has no affinity towards magic was DEFINETLY not your fault. You can''t control who you summon, right? Even though I don''t have those things, that just means that I will have to use my brain more than my brawn. Plus, I didn''t have magic in my world, so that''s just less for me to learn>


    <........! You really are too kind... You don''t know the circumstances, but...(shakes his head). Thank You, young one.> He says with a tender smile on his face. I''m not kind... not at all. I''m just trying to make sure you don''t go crazy and get me killed. weakest emperor or not, you are still an emperor, I think while  making a difficult face. Emperor Xuttomor notices this and changes the topic saying:


    <Since you are an inept, and a hero at the same time, you will have to learn how to defend yourself against the monsters, and unfortunatetly, some of the people of this world. So, I am now going to bring you to my Combat Master. Come along now.> The Emperor then starts walking off, towards the opposite of where I got the status crystal with emperor.


    I quickly follow, walking behind him. I wonder what this is going to be like. Is gonna be an open yard? or is it going to be soldier barracks? If so I hope they don''t make me stay in them saying it''s a part of the training. Not a fan of smelly, sweaty dudes. And I wonder how they train their soldiers. Do they whack a post while calling out drills, or do they do it differently? Well... I guess I''m about to find because it looks like we''re here.


    We walk outside and it''s considerably brighter than it was before, but that''s because we went out early in the morning. I was probably on the ground for while during the status crystal binding...ANYWAYS, we walk out and there are fifteen to twenty soldiers sword-fighting these moving human shaped targets that were holding their own sword. The targets they were fighting looked kind of like wooden mannequins ( Looks like this</a>), except they were moving similar to how the soldiers were  and had a crystal floating above them. The mannequins also had marks where the vitals are such as the spleen, which while I was watch somebody stabbed their wooden sword at one of those points. The mannequin then proceeded to put one of it''s hands in the spot where the sword stabbed, like it was bleeding (Which it wasn''t) and then continued to fight with the soldier. The soldier then proceeded to stab a small hollow in the mannequins chest, which it then  dropped it''s sword and fell over, while the crystal that was floating over it earlier fell to the ground as well. The other soldiers seemed to be having a hard time with them... The soldier that stabbed the mannequin in the chest picked up the fallen mannequin and then put his hand over the crystal that fell on the ground. His hand glowed for a split second and then the crystal started floating over the mannequin, which is now standing again. He then commanded it to be on standby mode  and proceeded to turn around, and start walking towards me and the emperor.


    <Hello, Your Majesty! I see you''ve brought me new meat> said the soldier whom I guess is the Combat Master with a charming smile. (No Chandler is not gay, even though I do not have anything against gay people.)


    <Good Morning, Tengsin! This our hero that we have summoned.>


    <OH...? This should be interesting.> Tengsin said smiling even brighter then before. What''s up with this guy? he''s like one of those super popular guys at school, who all the girls swoon over... So bright... That''s it, I don''t like him.


    <Young one, This is Tengsin, My Combat Master. Tengsin, as I said earlier this is our summoned hero.> the emperor said introducing us to each other.


    <The Naked Wonder... huh?>


    < Is that stupid nickname going to follow me everywhere?> I whine, which makes everyone whom heard it smile.


    <Ok, young one, I am going to leave this matter to Tengsin and go. I have some matters to attend to, so goodbye for now.> the emperor says discreetly and then leaves.


    <Yo, Chandler, Why don''t we get started?> Tengsin called me out of my stupor, I seem to be do this a lot... Then, again these two days have been anything but normal for me...


    <O...Ohh. Right. yeah>


    <Hahahaha (laughing very lightly), This must be very disorienting for you, huh? Makes sense, you were dragged out of your world to this world, learning about things you''ve probably thought weren''t real before, and on top of all that you were summoned in a way that no one would want to be.> He said lightly, surprisingly on point with his guess.


    <Ummm..... how did you know?> I ask sheepishly


    <Oh, I was friends with one of the heroes, they have very long lives y''know, and he told me how surprising everything in this world was for him. He also was friends with the prince, but who wasn''t? The prince was one of the kindest people I''ve ever met. He''s the reason I''m here instead of on the street. He saw how talented with a sword I was when I was stealing from vendors on the street. He caught me but then then offered me a job  as a soldier for him personally. I couldn''t believe it when they said he was an inept.... His sword skills were so fast and void of any unnecessary movement...> He said in an awed voice.


    < ....I heard that the prince passed away a while ago, he sounds like he was someone I would have liked to have met...>


    <A while ago...!? No, he passed away  pretty recently. He fell a month ago.... He died while saving me from an ambush... Took an arrow to the heart...> he said in a very depressed voice. He sounded very angry when he said passed away.


    <Oh my god, I''m so sorry... I didn''t know, I only guessed by what I have heard.>


    < Hah, that''s okay, I was just annoyed by how the nobles keep saying passed away... As if he died from a disease, or as if he died from old age... like he even got to live the full life he deserved... He was my savior... My teacher...  my friend... >

    < I see why the Emperor came in with that worried look on his face now. Don''t worry I''ll help you train with swordsmanship or any other type of fighting you think will be comfortable with.>


    <Now, pick up a wooden sword from the corner over there and then go over to the wooden training golem.>


    < do you mean that wooden mannequin with crystal floating over it?>


    <am I supposed to fight against it?>


    < Nah, I''m just gonna put it into practice mode and you''re going to show me how you slash and stab. And I am also going to be watching how swing the sword, how your footwork is, and how you move your body in general, to see how much work I have to do.>


    I then go on to pick up one of the wooden swords (which is weighted exactly the same as a real one) and... drop it because I wasn''t expecting the sudden weight, which earns me a laugh (yes, brownie points!). I pick it up and then began to do practice slashes, aligning the edge properly, on the Wooden practice golem and knock it down a few times. And then I start stabbing the points that are marked and it falls down every time (the golem gets back up by itself), and Tengsin stops me. He hands me a wooden dagger, then tells me to try again. I knock it down every time, because I hit the mark every time with the dagger, until I trip, Then, Tengsin tells me to stop again.


    <Where did you learn that? Who taught you?> He doesn''t sound too happy...


    <Umm... Why do you want to know? It''s not like you could learn from them? Different world, remember?>


    <OH! Right, forgot. Sorry. The reason why I wanted  to know is because your edge alignment and accuracy are pretty good, but the balance of your body when fighting and your footwork are terrible, especially for a dagger user. Whoever taught you is an idiot. To survive you need to learn footwork so don''t fall over and get killed why you are down. Plus, you had a lot of wasteful movement. > He said in a very angry sounding voice. He sounds like a drill sergeant...


    <I...I... Uh... I taught myself....> I said in a very small voice... Why are you looking at me like that for? He''s scary!


    <Oh...? You... are self taught...? No wonder you''re not too good. You had no one teach you... How did you learn that then? I know that all summoned heroes are orphans... What the heck was you life like? That''s enough to take out someone with  slightly stronger attributes than your own if they don''t expect you to fight back.> he asks in a very soft, worried voice.


    <Oh, yeah! Attributes! The Emperor wasn''t too clear on those! he just said they come in three tiers and they make you stronger!> I said in a falsely excited voice. Hopefully, he''ll change the subject, I don''t want to talk about my past.


    <O..Oh.. Yeah, That''s right, that''s one of the things I was supposed to tell you, huh?> He says bewildered at my reaction to when he said attributes.


    < The Emperor told you how there was three tiers to each of the attributes, right? Each Tier is stronger than the one before it, but also has a slower growth. Let''s take the strength attribute for example. Strength is the lowest for Tier of of this attribute, and is the easiest to grow. Power is the second tier of strength, and it takes twice as much to grow Power, a second tier attribute, than it does to grow the first tier of strength. Then comes the third tier of strength, Brutality. Brutality takes three times as much to grow, compared to the tier one version of strength.>


    <Um speaking about growth of the  attributes, how do they grow? Exercise?> I ask which seems to amuse him.


    <haha, yes that is one way, but after a certain point it doesn''t work anymore. I mean after you get so many points in the attribute, you would have to do something like run for a month straight just to make the agility stat go up. Nobody is going to do that, so they use the main method.>


    <what''s the main method.>


    <the main method that we use, is to absorb something called a Mana Orb through the status crystal. A Mana Orb is something that all monsters have. Its actually what makes a monster, a monster. A monster is an animal that has absorbed enough mana to mutate into a similar, but different creature than it originally was. Just like every living thing, they have mana flowing through their blood, but the main difference is that inside their hearts they have a large accumulation of mana. That is the Mana Orb. Luckily, when a monster is slain, the Mana Orb drifts right out of the body, so you won''t have to dig out their hearts. Anyways, back to why absorbing Mana Orbs are the main why to boost your attributes. Monsters have special growth types like we do.(Actually, that''s also how monsters get stronger, eating other monsters, then absorbing their Mana Orb into their own, sometimes making the monster become a "balanced type)  (refer to chapter 3). Mana Orbs that came from a monster of a matching growth type will give a bigger boost than one that does not. Say a "speed" type person kills a "speed" type monster and then gets it''s Mana Orb. They will get a big boost in their agility and dexterity stats. But say that "speed" type person instead kills a "power" type monster, then they will only get a small boost in their strength and vitality attributes instead. some people do the second one on purpose to fit their needs. I wouldn''t really know anymore about it though. The one who would know that best is the hero I was friends with.>

    <I''m sorry, but he can''t give advice to anyone anymore. Sadly he died five years ago...The funny thing was that he wasn''t scared of death at all. He took it calmly, while I watched him die. I asked him why he isn''t scared and he said to me "What''s there to be scared of? I lived in this world so long... So long, that there wouldn''t be anything there for me to be scared of. I have lived such a long life, two hundred and ninety-three years, wouldn''t you believe" he said while smiling. "I believe in reincarnation where I come from, my soul will just be recycled and then I will be reborn again to live another life, hopefully more peaceful than this on, ha...haha...hahahaha"  He said that bad joke and then he died with a smile on his face. > He with a sad smile on his face..

 Chapter Five: Learning how Status works

Anyways, I try to post these chapters when I can, but real-life (at this point, my obnoxious brother and sister) keeps getting in the way. I might be able to post multiple times a week , but if i''m not able to then  I''ll try to keep it at least once a week, if possible. School is coming up too, so sorry if I''m only able to post once a month then.

    After that awkward moment of Tengsin telling me how the hero died, by the way no one told me his name, not that I really care, we went on to talk about how attributes effect your body. Tengsin went on to say how stats effect your body.


    "The strength attribute basically effects the muscles of the upper body. It effects how much you can lift, how hard you hit,  and how sturdy your muscles are. Meaning that it doesn''t only affect attack, it also affects how much you can defend against. Then, what''s vitality for, you ask? I''m getting there, wait a moment! Vitality is an attribute that affects how tough your body is. The vitality attribute doesn''t make it so that you can''t block something like a sword with your bare hands. What it does do, is make your bones harder so they won''t break from impact (sounds like a calcium boost). Vitality also lengthens you life (this part doesn''t really do much for heroes), and makes your natural healing process much faster. Next, I''ll talk about the  Agility attribute. Agility mostly affects the muscles in your lower body (please no gross jokes in the comments guys), but it also affects also affects your balance. After the Agility attribute comes Dexterity. Dexterity affects your fingers, eyes, and most importantly, your reflexes. It makes it so that your hands are able to make more complicated movements and are easier to control. Your eyes become sharper, being able to pick out more detailed things, and your reflexes become much faster. The next two have a lot to do with magic. The first is intelligence. The Intelligence Attribute speeds up your thinking speed, helps speed up your comprehension of things, and also helps with concentration. Concentration is key to towards the power of a spell, but it is also what makes it so dangerous to cast spells in battle. Getting attacked while casting a spell can interrupt it, cancelling the spell. Last but not least is the Wisdom attribute. The Wisdom Attribute affects your memorization. This really helps with control over spells because it helps remember how you did it and how you can change it. The memorization also helps with learning, because, well, you won''t forget what you where taught." (Tengsin)

    "Well...Yes... But, not one your body can take right now. There are certain restrictions to things like that and seeing you''re attributes... No, you would die from it." (Tengsin)

    "So, I can''t use whatever it is yet, I''m gunna change the subject then. Where and how do I learn Magic? My world didn''t have that and I''m pretty interested, I mean who wouldn''t be? I assume the king had that all figured out for me?" (Chandler)


    " That was abrupt. *smiles* You are correct when you assume that king has it all set up. You already met your magic teacher though." (Tengsin)

    The Mana Master. He is the most Knowledgable person on magic in the castle. He is also the teacher of the princess"(Tengsin)

    Afterwards, we went back into the castle or whatever they call it (palace, you dummy) and we took a lot of difficult to remember twists and turns and got to a stairway. Going up the stairs I realized that where we were going is a library. A library? How clich¨¦ of a place to learn magic, but oh well. They are supposed to be a place of learning. Anyways, we went up the stairs to the huge library, (yes everything is huge that''s why I keep mentioning it every chapter) and apparently we came in during the princess''s magic lesson.


    "And this is how you-- Oh, I have visitors. Princess, why don''t we end it here." (Khraghm, the mana master)


    "Yes Master Khraghm. By the way who is your gues--?*gasp*" The princess starts saying in a dignified matter until she sees me,  she then starts blushing, and walks out of the room fast enough to be running while not looking at me.


    "pfftttt! he-he-he, you made quite an impression huh?" Tengsin said low enough that I almost didn''t hear him. I did say almost.


    "Huh? What did you say? Hmm?" (Chandler)


    "Nothing, nothing" (Tengsin)


    "Hmm, why don''t I believe you." (Chandler)


    "You don''t have to because I''m leaving. *laughs*" Which Tengsin did as he said and then left.


    " HEY!" I yelled after him which was answered by Khraghm laughing at our antics.


    "That stuff is for horses, you Know" (Khraghm) ....He did not just do the hay is for horses joke. *sigh* I guess that joke exists here too.


    "..." That stupid joke just ruined the moment, bad timing dude, bad timing.


    "*sigh*This is why I don''t tell jokes. ...OK, the Emperor has charged me with teaching you magic, and lucky you, as a bonus, the history of our world. Before you start learning Magic, I will need to see how high your attributes are. To project the status screen, all you need to do is touch your status crystal while saying {Show Status}. It will only show your status to who you target to show it to. Also, if you do not want to show everything, then you can specifically say which one you want to show such as {show Attributes}."     "Oh, Ok." I go to reach toward my chest where my status crystal is and Khraghm Asks me a question.


    "You, didn''t move it?" (Khraghm)


    "Wait, you can move it?" I asked excitedly.


    "oh geez, nobody told you that it''s possible?" (Khraghm)


    "No... How do I do it?"


    "All you have to do is say {Move} with the intention to move it." (Khraghm)


    "Wow! that''s like magic!"


    "Hahaha, yes and no at the same time Chandler. The magic used to make the status crystal was created by the first summoned hero, which of course is why only the Adventurer''s Guild knows how it is made since they were founded by her. I don''t completely know how it works because I am not part of that guild, so I am not trusted with that knowledge by them. I do have a general inkling towards how they work though. You know how every living thing in this world has mana right?" (Khraghm)


    "Yeah?"


    " Well... we unconsciously leak extra non-storable mana, no matter what we do, unless of course trained not to, but that training can kill you if you aren''t careful, so most don''t do it (except assassins). My theory is that the non-storable mana is unconsciously pulled into status crystal and immediately used to power it, so that it can project what we want to see from the information stored into it. God, I wish I could have met the adventuring sorceress." (Khraghm)


    "The Adventuring Sorceress?"


    "That''s the first heroes nickname." (Khraghm)


    "What was her actual name?"


    "...No one knows it because they''re long dead." (Khraghm)

    "No no no, they pop out when the user is killed. this helps to identify criminals, like bandits whenever someone gets ambushed and they survive it. Some have bounties, and their title will show up as {Wanted Criminal}"  (Khraghm)


    "I thought you said that titles could be hidden, and how does the status crystal  update that title? does the world label them as a criminal or something?"


    "Hahahaha, the world label them criminals? No, the world could care less, the Adventurer''s Guild in each region has to listen to the ruling emperor of the region, so if you break a law you are labeled a criminal because that''s what the status crystal made in that region was made to do. of course you can move to a different region that doesn''t have the same laws and get your status crystal updated a different adventurer''s Guild but there is a risk. As for how the update, they are pre-made titles, that the Guild came up with."  (Khraghm)


    "Let me guess the risk. It probably goes like this. If you go to one that has different laws, when they update the crystal to the region, the criminal status disappears, but if not , you are basically turning yourself in. "


    "exactly, and most likely to be tortured, enslaved, or executed. Sometimes depending on who the person gets enslaved to, it would have been better to be executed.... Also, when they are enslaved, the slavers crack the status crystal, causing it to be impossible to check the status or make your attributes grow through absorbing a mana core. It''s incredibly painful...I mean, or so I''ve heard" (Khraghm)

    I show him my status screen for the FOURTH TIME And he seems to be very happy at first and then he sees my Strength and vitality attributes.


    "In... your world... were you perhaps... considered very lazy?" (Khraghm)


    "W-Why do you say that?" I might have been a little lazy...


    "*sigh* In this world, everyone gets their status crystal at ten years old. The year afterward, you gain one Point of growth in each attribute, And then every other year afterwards you gain another growth point in each attribute. This is not set in stone though. Say for instance, you do something detrimental, it will cause the points not to be gained, it might even lower them. Even though you did not  get the status crystal till you wee fifteen, the status crystal takes into account your physical and mental states. Your Attributes should be at least  thirteen each." (Khraghm)


    "I ... Might have been a little lazy hahaha...." Which caused Khraghm to face-palm himself.
