《Overpower》 Prolog - The end of the beginning Prolog There are many realms out there. Dimensions, parallel worlds, alternate realities, membranes, or multiverse. Whatever they are called the concept is the same. Worlds like one another but different in some fundamental way. They can be broadly classified into types. Normal, Sci-fi, Magical, Natural, and Divine. Normal is the most common with set rules that are unchanging and the beings on them slowly bettering themselves. Most eventual stagnate and disappear leaving ancient artifacts for futures races to discover and wonder at. Sci-fi follow rules that as they are better understood can be change though massive effort of many people to change them. The beings in this world often ascend to energy beings that become other world¡¯s fundamental forces and concepts. Magical worlds allow rules to be changed by individual force of will. The population of these worlds go on to create new worlds with new rules to govern them as powerful gods. Natural worlds create ever evolving rules that change as they grow giving rise to new species, monsters and spirits to populate new worlds. Divine worlds are where the ascended beings live. Spirts, gods, demons, and other beings of power dwell there. The problem is those with power do nothing worthwhile at best and often torment the weak at worst. While those without are helpless before the divine or are doomed to stagnate and die. This is a horrid system we live in thinks Ris as she flees. Ris is a goddess of games. What better way to challenge oneself and have fun at the same time by playing games. She even came up with a way to make powerful beings that both have the power, will to use it and most importantly the good character to use it for the betterment of others. Yes, she thinks, a perfect plan to create a gaming world of infinite possibilities, infinite ways to power, yet with controlled limits. Always a new challenge to keep the races on it ever striving for power and yet be responsible in its usage. Like many perfect plans this one was working wonderfully until the enemy showed up to ruin it completely. She pauses a moment to cast an intricate magical incantation. Hundreds of complex glowing magical circles appear around her and turn like gears in a clock. A multitude of chanting voices and fluctuating energy fields humming with divine melody can be heard as the miracle is cast. There that should keep those meatheads occupied for a bit, she thinks to herself. The trap she just created could end a world or confine a demon king for eternity but sadly will keep the enemy only contained for a short while. Any one of the enemy she could beat easily. She¡¯d lay even odds on her versus 10 of them. However what she faces is a multitude of the most powerful beings in the universe. A pantheon of gods. The name given to a group of gods who work toward a common goal is her enemy. Their goal is simple; become the gods of the world that Ris has brought forth. They are too lazy to make their own worlds and jealous enough to take worlds created by better gods as their own through violence. Ris of course was prepared for upstart gods challenging her but she didn¡¯t think they would come in such numbers and work together all at once. She is sure they will be back stabbing each other and breaking into smaller pantheons once they are done with her. However right now she faces the combined might of hundreds of gods. The odds don¡¯t daunt her though. She is use to overcoming impossible odds and winning. After all she beat her twin brother Tet all the time in games. Of course he won just as many. Still that was the fun in playing them. She wishes he were here right now. Sadly he is too far away to help and has his own problems on a world in a state of Armageddon. No she will have to come up with a winning strategy by herself. The short game is lost to her. The enemy pantheon has too much power to go head to head with and she can¡¯t hide from them since she glows with power. She¡¯ll need to fight this in the long game and do so from complete stealth. She thinks of the goals she must achieve. As long as she is alive she can maintain the rules of the world. She can also get rid of most of her power through a method the oldest gods use to end their own existence. The hard part is finding the right game piece, getting it setup without notice and also ending herself in a way that will allow for her eventual resurrection. She considers all the angles. The plan is a complete gamble, relies on improbable odds and the reactions of gods and people she has never met to win. But luck is always on the gaming goddess¡¯s side. Besides she¡¯s never been this excited by a challenge before. The high stakes, the odds to overcome, the complete unknown all speak to her gaming existence. Well the upstarts are getting restless and she has nothing better to try so may as well roll the dice and hope for the best she quips. As the enemy gods break from their confinement and charge she casts the miracle of ending. This is the final spell a god casts to destroy their own identity. Of course power can never be destroyed only moved so the spell is also a death wish for the god casting it. She wishes for most of her power to go into powering this worlds rules. It¡¯s unlikely any god will take the time and effort to dismantle or change them. They will simply work around them as they fight one another. She also makes her end a spectacular explosion. Drawing from her knowledge of gaming cg effects it truly is breathtakingly huge, flashy and distracting. It¡¯s not just one explosion but a multitude of explosions. An energy missile massacre which home in and explode on nearby gods with multicolored particle effects and shrapnel that cross dimensions. Most of the shrapnel rain down on the world below. She is sure they will be coveted to make powerful weapons and magical artifacts. Seven of them are a bit more special than the others. Within those seven pieces of divine essence are her mind and memories. When brought together and empowered will bring her back into existence. Until then they will simply each be a divine stone of dual nature. The sparks from the explosion also have a purpose. Each will cross the void and bring back special souls. Souls looking for a new world, souls with potential, souls from a normal world to give power to and begin her grand experiment. These souls will serve as both decoys and allies for the game piece. Seven special souls will be brought back as well. One for each of the duel nature virtue/sin stones. Seven chances to have a game piece. The game piece with the most potential shall be contacted by the smallest fragment of her personality she dared to leave active. A proto goddess, her daughter she supposes, that will guide the game piece. She feels her thoughts dim and become divided as she sees her vision split into seven views slowly falling to the world below¡
[Who am I? What am I?] Oriana. [What does that mean?] Oriana. Blond. Golden. Dawn. Sunrise. Rising. New. Beginning. Oriana. [Is that my name?] ¡ [What should I do? Where should I go?] ¡ [What do I remember?] Pain. Loss. Sadness. Destruction. Emptiness. Loneliness. A cry for help. A wish. A prayer. A hope. A chance. [Stop, stop, it hurts!] The intensity of the last emotions she felt overwhelm her. No not her emotions. Another¡¯s emotions, someone she was close too. She can¡¯t remember who they were. But she remembers the final wish they had. To find someone special. Someone that can help. Someone that can be a hero to a goddess. [Another god perhaps?] No that would be too obvious. They need to be someone who is weak but can defy the gods themselves she feels. [How can someone weak defeat gods?] She does not know. But she must find them. She must guide them. She must grow them. [So perhaps someone who can fight the impossible. To grow in the darkest of places.] They must also be good. Just and yet merciful. Protect the weak even when they are weak themselves. To empower the weak and guide them from darkness. A person who is a guiding light in the dark. Who grows strong in the dark. Who has no power but can take on the most powerful of beings. Who makes the weak strong and who guides the strong to be good. Who makes the evil and powerful tremble in fear. [Yes that is the type of person I need to find and guide.] As her thoughts become less fragmented she notices a world below her. [I may as well start here for my search.] She descends to the world below and begins her search. ¡ Several months of searching and she has found no one. She finds all kinds of weak people but they all are just that, weak. They are not bad people or good people really. They just do what they can to survive and if they have a bit extra, help those around them. She does find a news article about a man named Batman. At first she thinks this is exactly who she needs. However she soon realizes he is just a fictional person and only exists in fiction called ¡®comic books¡¯. Well the concept is on this world. Maybe she can find someone like that here. But where to look¡ She has seen no evidence of real life super vigilantes. Nor any powerful enemies needing such heroes. Then she sees something interesting on a public TV. What a wonderful invention she thinks to bring so much information easily to so many. Even better they often show powerful leaders, which is one of the criteria she is after. Mostly the leaders shown have few if any of the other qualities she needs disappointingly. This time is different the news cast is interviewing someone who has done great things with so little. He might be the one she can guide to her world. She has to hurry though he does not have long to live.
A pale corpse of a man lays on a bed; shrunken to a bare ninety pounds due to Cachexia. If he wasn¡¯t breathing rapidly and with a distinctive sound anyone looking at him would assume he had already passed on. With the interview over he has nothing left to do but die he thinks. He¡¯s had a distinctive breathing pattern often known as a death rattle for several days. Most go unconscious and die within two or three days but somehow he¡¯s still conscious and mostly lucid. The glowing golden ball in front of his fading vision seems to indicate the lucid part is going away though. [Remember] whispers a woman¡¯s voice. Well why not? Might as well have his life flash before him as he dies.
A blow strikes his cheek. Followed by another on the other cheek. ¡°You listen to me boy we¡¯ll have none of that in my house!¡± The man says as he hits the boy again. The boy says nothing. Anything he says will only enrage his father more. He merely asked if there was a God. After all if God was all powerful, all knowing, all perfect, all seeing and the embodiment of all that was good then why is the world like it is? A perfect example is of this man beating his child bloody for merely asking a question. A good god would stop this if he had the power. If he was powerless or uncaring then there would be no point in following such a god. Even worse the distilled wisdom of such a god recorded in the religious text was that the correct response to this question was hitting the child for questioning his belief. Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. No if such a god existed he would not be worthy of being worshipped. With the multitude of religions that disagreed with each other and proclaimed each followed the sole true word of God seem to indicate such a being as unlikely to be real. At twelve years old the boy already has reason enough to figure out that an adult proclaiming his imaginary friend is real and he¡¯ll kill anyone that disagrees with him as silly. ¡°Well it must be that school that is filling your head with these lies of the devil. I¡¯ll have my wife home school you and your sister in the proper ways.¡± He says this as if his wife is not there looking at all of this happening. The boy can¡¯t blame his mother. She is often the victim of such abuse as well. The boy thinks he¡¯ll need to tutor his sister so she doesn¡¯t become stupid. He can already see how smart she is. Since she is six years old he can teach her what he knows and in six years he¡¯ll be an adult and maybe be able to get her out of this situation. The boy hides his thoughts and tutors his sister in secret for four years. He tries to take much of the punishment as well. Always claiming he is the one who broke the dish while washing it, or he was the one that brought home a book about evolution. In truth he did bring home the book but only because his sister insisted as she wanted to know the truth behind it by following the sources referenced in the other books she read. Her brother was so proud of her for following sources and learning the truth herself instead of just blindly accepting the information told by others. At sixteen he worked many odd jobs to earn money for lawyer fees and move out expenses he¡¯ll have in two years. Home schooling was mostly just reading verses in the good book and reciting them from memory to his male parent which didn¡¯t take much time. He refused to call him father any longer. His male parent had never read the book so he could pretty much say anything religious sounding. Often he would quote famous atheists or movie quotes he heard from his coworkers much to his amusement. This day as he returned home he heard a commotion coming from inside. Followed by a scream and a gun shot. He rushed inside to see his enraged father standing over his mother, who was bleeding on the ground, with a gun in his hand. Forgetting his earlier resolution he says, ¡°Father what have you done?¡± ¡°This is for our own good. This world is pure evil and we must go to God¡¯s side to join his fight against this evil now!¡± The young man can see the glint of madness in his father¡¯s eye as his father points the gun at his weeping sister. ¡°NOOOO!¡± The young man rushes his father and struggles for the gun. Furniture is overturned as they tumble around trying to wrest the gun from each other. The sister recovering from the shock runs to the kitchen to call emergency services for police and ambulances. After a bit his sister returns with a broom held at the ready. But she is lost what to do as her brother and father are moving around so much she can¡¯t hit just one. It is a moot point as a moment later the gun goes off again. The young man grabs the gun and rolls off his father. He stands up quickly, points the gun at his father and wondering who was shot. His father does not get up and the young man checks himself quickly. No bullet holes. ¡°Sis help mom, I¡¯ll look after father.¡± His sister gets some towels and applies pressure to the wound on her mother. After a bit of thinking he decides to tie up his father and see if he can stop the bleeding. In a few minutes the police arrive quickly followed by firemen. He wonders why firemen would show up but realizes they too have some medical equipment and must have been closer than an ambulance. His father and mother are taken to the hospital but the looks on the faces of the medical personal makes him think that neither will survive. The police question him and his sister for much of the night before letting them sleep in one of the holding cells at the station. They were not under arrest and the holding cell door was left open. The officers just felt that children shouldn¡¯t stay in their house that night. In the days that follow the young man got his desire to be free of his parents. Neither survived the night. Also no charges were filed as his father was known to be somewhat of a crazy and he was hard working and respected young man. Some talk was heard of taking them to an orphanage but the young man convinced them he could take care of himself and his sister. His sister enrolled in public school. He began working 60 and 80 hour weeks at many part time jobs to save up money for his sister¡¯s college and to pay for food and rent. Seven years pass and his sister is thinking where to go for college. Not just any college but some of the best there are and maybe on a scholarship as well. This is good he thinks. He hasn¡¯t been able to save much. With no high school, or even Jr high, his job prospects are abysmal. He makes enough to make sure his sister has everything she needs to succeed and not much else. He did attempt to apply for various welfare but as his parents birthed him at home and never got a birth certificate so he couldn¡¯t even apply. Luckily his mother had complications with his sister¡¯s pregnancy and gave birth to her in a hospital. With this record and as her legal guardian he applied for her birth certificate so she could get some assistance and more importantly go to school. All is going well enough but he feels tired all the time. When he starts to have pain in his abdomen and urinating blood he decides he can spend some of his money on a doctor¡¯s visit. It¡¯s quickly found he has cancer of the kidney. A relatively easily treated and survivable cancer. Well this is true if you have the money or health insurance to get treatment that is. They even have a vaccine for it now given to young children to prevent it and many other cancers. Once you have the cancer it¡¯s too late for the vaccine to work though. His parents being who they were never gave their children vaccines feeling they were against God¡¯s design or caused the devil to have access to your soul or something. He does make sure his sister gets it and all the other vaccines available. She needs most of them to go to college and they are just a few dollars a shot. He tried to figure out a way to get treatment but with no education, no birth certificate, no parents insurance to use, no job that provided it, and no large sums of cash around he had no way to do so. At this point he would¡¯ve likely died in obscurity as just another poor dreg of society to be thrown away when no longer useful. However as he was leaving the doctor¡¯s office he saw a woman with a small boy arguing with the check-in nurse. Like him she and the boy had no insurance and couldn¡¯t pay for the visit. The boy was obviously sick and needed medical treatment. This is just silly he thinks. Treatment should be given to all who need it regardless of background. The doctor could treat this boy here or he could treat the dozens of people who are going to catch the disease later from the untreated boy. He goes up to the nurse and pays her the visit fee and gives the woman more for any medication they will have to buy later. He has no idea if it¡¯s enough but hopefully it will be. The woman thanks him profusely. As he goes home he thinks about this a lot. It¡¯s just wrong that there isn¡¯t any universal health care system open to all people. It¡¯s also wrong that parents can deny their children basic education, medical treatment and generally be completely irrational in their choices made for their children. Not one to just simply complain about the way things are or blame others he decides to do something about it. Over the next few years he spends his time talking to anyone who will listen. Hitch hiking across the country to give speeches, meet with government officials and simply being an example of all that is wrong with the current health system. Of course as his fame grows he is offered money to get treated but by that time his cancer had metastasized and is a type that does not respond to chemo or radiation therapy. Instead he put all the money he made first into making sure his sister has enough for her education and living expenses then donated the rest to his charity to get universal healthcare passed. Various religious organizations attacked him mercilessly. Proclaim him to be lazy, disliked in God¡¯s eyes as he is poor and thus unfavored, uneducated, an illegal immigrant and so on. His work history, a simple DNA test proving he is related to his parents who have citizenship, and the fact after several speeches and large donations is no longer poor quickly prove those accusations wrong. The uneducated part is true but only because those same religions teach that public schooling is evil and corruptive. His natural charisma, intelligence and rationality make him better received to the audiences then the half crazed religious apologists who have a ¡®phd¡¯ in a pseudoscience no one has heard of from a university operating out of a trailer. The death threats he receives toward the end of his life makes him wonder if they are trying for morbid humor. Not really much scare factor threating someone who has accepted he¡¯s going to die soon. There are also the letters stating he will burn in hell for his actions. He already lives his life in constant intense pain. It¡¯s really not that bad. A nice hot sauna dip in a lake of fire might be a nice change of pace. This brings him to the present where he remembers the interview he just gave. Over half the local governments have passed universal health care. The rest of the country is likely to follow soon and is a hot button topic for the next presidential election. Even some places have passed child protection from religion acts. His sister is graduating from the university soon and plans on being a medical researcher. He¡¯s sure he¡¯s influenced her choices. She seems to generally want to do this though and he thinks a research doctor is a fine profession to have. This is his final thought as he passes away with a smile on his face at the age of 26.
The young goddess Oriana grabs his soul as it leaves his broken body and quickly escapes this planet. What a wonderful soul she thinks. Almost everything thing she has hoped for. The local gods even discarded him long ago as a worthless and perhaps dangerous soul. This is why she is sure his soul won¡¯t be missed as she takes it from a planet with 8 billion people on it. She wonders why the local gods are using such round about methods to gain power. Instead of just fighting directly they use a few choice words to their followers here and there to do their bidding. Convincing the populous, religious or not, that they don¡¯t exist but still trying to sway them all toward their own side. There must be some reason but it doesn¡¯t matter to her. What matters to her is this wonderful soul she has found. The only thing he is lacking is his combat experience. His will, his resolution to do what is right, his defiance against the commandments of the local gods. A sick, poor, uneducated man took on the giant religious organizations and won while helping others, educating them, empowering them to be better than they were. She feels a bit guilty taking his soul without asking him first though. She didn¡¯t think about it in her excitement. She¡¯ll apologize to him later and grant him a wish if she can to make up for it. She hopes he won¡¯t hate her much. She zips through the void between realities toward a world she has never seen but is sure that is there. Chapter 1 The last thing our protagonist remembers is dying due to cancer. So why does he find himself in a bag of skittles he wonders. He¡¯s surrounded by multicolored balls of light. Some blue, others green, many are red, a couple yellows, a few purple, all the colors of the rainbow and then some. Well this is certainly different. He was expecting less Technicolor and more, well nothing. He was an atheist after all and didn¡¯t expect any sort of afterlife. He certainly didn¡¯t expect to find himself in an enormous stone amphitheater surrounded by balls of light. This must be some sort of dying dream he thinks. May as well go with it as it seems more interesting than anything else. Step one check his own body. Looking down he sees the floor. Try as he might he can¡¯t seem to view his own body. But as he has no feet, seems to be floating at the same height as the other balls of light, and can just barely make out what seems to be a golden colored aura he figures he must also be one of the balls of light. So he must be surrounded by other souls he guesses. Looking up he sees a red angry looking sky. It¡¯s streaked with yellows and a few black clouds. No sun or moon can be seen but the sky still seems to provide a decent amount of light on the area. He tries to talk to the other souls but no sound comes out. Trying to move doesn¡¯t work either. Other than spinning in place this dream is getting dull fast. Just as he¡¯s thinking this a triumphant song starts playing. Followed by a pretty woman appearing on the main stage in the middle of the amphitheater. She has well styled long wavy brown hair. A white gorgeous flowing dress which shows off her ample cleavage nicely. Wearing too much makeup and enough gold jewelry to sink a ship she does the classic politician stage wave. He already dislikes her. ¡°Welcome fellow feminists I am your goddess, your sole reason for being, the one true Goddess of feminists, Ninity.¡± Yep definitely despises her. ¡°You have had the good fortune of being chosen by me to end the patriarchy. I shall send you forth to battle the forces of the males and bring about a wonderful world of woman without men via superior firepower. Yes this is the dawn of a new chapter on this world, a world of peace and prosperity after we kill all men and drown all the boys.¡± A lake of fire he could¡¯ve been happy in but listening to this illogical cult like rant is pure hell. As a political activist he had the misfortune of meeting people like her all too often. Not feminists, women¡¯s right activist or the general egalitarians all of whom he would gladly stand next too and applaud their speeches. No con artists, profession victims, villains who prey upon the goodwill of others for personal gain. Many get the two confused but once you realize their true motivation they are easy to tell apart. A real activist will work tirelessly, ask for donations to their cause, be a role model of change via their own actions, and support other equal rights groups. While professional victims will ask for money for only themselves, do little if any work, blame others for all their problems, and decry other equal rights groups as unworthy or hate groups. No if a person wants to change the world they must first change themselves and accept responsibility for their actions. Blaming others and trying to get others to change will never work. Only through one¡¯s own actions and work will anything be done. Activists understand this and live this every day. While con artists just want to make an easy buck. ¡°Yes by following my greatness you shall have abilities that are the envy of others. Your leveling shall know no bounds. You shall be rewarded in life and the afterlife. All this at the low cost of donating a portion of your loot drops and experience to me, the great Goddess Ninity.¡± That is an odd way to phrase the donation for nothing pitch. Almost sounds like a game. Although uneducated and poor most of his life he has played the occasional online game. Mostly free phone games toward the end of his life. More often he used his smart phone to read history, guides to public speaking and free online stories. To be well spoken requires practice and a large vocabulary that comes easily through reading. Also the frequent traveling with little to do allowed one a great deal of time to read. A phone is one of the more effective ways to do this. Cheaper than a laptop and easier to carry with almost the same capabilities. Still he wonders at the game terminology. As it¡¯s more interesting than the long winded and boring sales pitch he decides to see if he can bring up a status screen. [Status][Character screen][Abilities] he thinks. Three very similar but slightly different screens pop up. Well that was easy. Looking at the screens they display almost the same information but each has a slightly different focus and layout. Playing around with opening and closing them he quickly understands that what the screens display is based on his own thoughts. So my own ideas on what should be displayed is what gets displayed. He focuses his thoughts and wants a screen that displays everything organized in tabs. [Status] Yikes that is a lot of information to take in. Over thirty base stats, thousands of skills, hundreds of jobs, plus traits, affinities, almost a hundred customizable body parts and types. Most however are currently greyed out and can¡¯t be changed. At least there is help buttons with it. Reading the help he gets an idea of what all this means. Base stats are what one is born with and determine how much you grow on level up. While modified stats are your base stats + level up bonuses + equipment + training. So how strong one gets is based on basic ability plus how much training they put into it. Those with high base ability can gain faster in the stat. The help says the average is 10 for all base stats but looking at his screen he sees that social and mental stats are capped at 10 with appearance capped at 5. But physical stats have a minimum of 15. So the goddess has forced everyone to be her dumb thugs. Which of course can never be more beautiful than her he snorts in disgust. Even better there are supposed to be 10 bonus points to spend but there are only 5 and the total points is less than half of normal. The help makes reference to a god can spend extra power to give souls more points. Maybe the reverse is true as well a god can take power from souls allowing for less base stat points. Well since this is my dream and a game to boot let¡¯s see if I can hack my way around this limitation. Looking at various tabs he happens upon the skill screen. He checks cooking and cloth crafting. Yep disabled. In fact almost everything but combat is greyed out. In weapon skills the sub skill in swords is greyed out as well. Too masculine or phallic he guesses. If the sub skills are separate than the base skills I wonder if the reverse is true. Expanding the disabled skill engineering shows that the computer skill is enabled. Ninity likely doesn¡¯t know about computers so never saw the option to disable. He takes all his points from stats, except intelligence and perception, leaving them at the minimum and puts them into the computer skill. ¡°I know computer fu.¡± He chuckles. As he puts points into the skill he does indeed start to understand computer theory. The knowledge just appears in his head to use. He also opens up a further sub skill, hacking, at 4 computer skill. He puts the rest of his points into hacking. As it¡¯s a sub skill one point is equal to 4 lvs of skill while the computer skill was 1 to 2 lvs and stats are 1 to 1. With his new knowledge he bets there is a factory mode. [Factory admin mode] and a screen opens with various settings. Reset all settings to default. He loses his computer knowledge. [Status] Now the screen shows the normal default stats of 10 like the help said. Adding back the skills to computer and hacking, which he now has more of, he goes back into the [Factory admin mode] He quickly gets around the admin password and sets the bonus points to max and enables all options. While he¡¯s in there he can apparently remove the other limiters on the rest of the souls and does so. He can¡¯t set their bonus points at max but at least he can give them normal settings. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. He resets his points again and looks at his [Status]. 99 bonus points and a new tab Overpower. Nice he thinks. Before doing his final selection he puts his points into intelligence, history, religion, common sense and game theory. The world he is going to be born in was a game world that the gaming goddess Ris created. It¡¯s mostly a fantasy like world with medieval technology and magic. However gods, martial arts, divine powers, espers, steam punk technology and fast evolution in nature are also possible. Apparently Overpower is the world rule system Ris devised for this world. It allows one to overcome basic human limitations and become very powerful indeed. In fact the whole system is designed to have no limitations as such there is no max to skills or level. Although the higher a skill gets the harder it gets to level and certain milestones must be achieved to break the current soft skill limits. His game theory tells him pure min maxing is a bad idea as he could be left in a bad situation and higher level skills are slower to level. So he should focus on a few excellent skills while spreading his points around a bit to maximize his advantage. The new tab Overpower is the obvious first place to look at to spend points in. His options are Divine, Apostle, Genius, Evolution, Psychic, Cannibal, Talented, Magic, Heroic, Legendary Craftsman, Undead, and Summon. Looking into each they seem to be talent trees. It costs a lot of points to get the first node but then additional nodes are available for less cost. The help says overpower can be gained by performing great actions in life as well. Talented gives unique abilities that can¡¯t be gained any other way, Genius doubles skill gains and gives even more skill bonuses, Cannibal allows one to gain others abilities though eating them and so on. But ultimately Magic and the Divine look most interesting to him. Magic is only 10 points for the base pick and allows one to cast magic. Divine however is 45 points and gives a base stat bonus of 50% but gives him something more important. Immunity to disease for 1 additional point. Divine almost seems broken with the massive gain to base stats but with the normal 10 bonus points would normally require a large decrease in starting stats to even pick leaving a person with only 9 average in stats. With 99 bonus points though it¡¯ll give a large advantage. Since 15 is the equivalent to perhaps the top 1-2% of the population. While 20 in a stat is once a generation type of stat. Let¡¯s up 6 stats to 14 for 24 points. Then 2 points in life magic, healing magic, barrier magic, sword, fitness, forage, survival, danger sense. Another 2 points spent on magic specialization: holy under magic overpower tree. With the last point spent in tongues which was another talent in the divine overpower tree. It may seem like a waste to put points into skills but they don¡¯t just give simple skill points. Start points give a full understanding of the skill and an additional 50% gain bonus per point. So the sword skill has 100% gain, doubling skills points gained per swing. Also with full understanding all sub skills are open up to the fourth level and later sub skills are easier to open. With all the points spent he spends some time customizing his appearance. May as well be in a body he likes. First the gender. Male of course¡ which is disabled. Checking over the screens only the gender and race selection is disabled. He wonders at his sub conscious reason for this but shrugs. It¡¯s all a dream before the end anyway. Okay female it is. The race selection is also disabled. But the help gives a reason for this one. Certain conditions must be met to unlock other races, things like start location, where beginning skills are spent, god resurrected under. In his case the divine overpower seems to have locked this to human demigod. Height 5¡¯9¡±, long blond hair, blue eyes, athletic build. He quickly sets the settings to a girl that looks average with small hips and breasts. He¡¯s not sure how he feels about being in a body of an attractive woman. So mostly just does the average for most things. He does spend some time making her voice though. He makes it a commanding contralto. For a name he chooses Valoria. Finally done with customizing his new body he hits accept and waits for the propaganda speech to end.

Chapter 2 Waking up feeling refreshed is such a great way to start the day. To the sounds of birds chirping and a small brook babbling and the smell of early morning dew. Feels almost like he is a whole new person. This confuses him for a bit as he remembers a great deal of pain in his previous life. Wait maybe he IS a whole new person if his odd dream is continuing. He remembers dozing off in that otherworldly amphitheater as the goddess Ninity droned on about her greatness. Now he is here, where ever here is. Does that mean he is a new born girl now? Opening his, well perhaps her eyes, he looks around. The day is just beginning as a morning light from the clear blue sky can be seen through a lightly wooded area. He wonders what he looks like now. He holds up his hands and instead of seeing pudgy baby arms sees adult arms and hands. Looking down he notices large ample mounds on his chest. After checking down below and missing a certain male only organ he states, ¡°I¡¯m certainly a woman now, guess I should start referring to myself as she.¡± He, damn it she, never understood that cis stuff. So she is just going to refer to herself as the body gender. After all no one can really know what is going on in others heads and how they refer to oneself. Just seems easier to go by body gender and act however they want to act. He, sigh, already notices her body is a bit different than the one she selected in the character creation screen. The breasts are way larger for one; D-cup at least. Looking at her hair its long thick silky soft golden hair that looks more like cascading gold. Although he did select blond this is on a whole different level of the color yellow. Even without a mirror she can tell her hips are wide and her butt has a nice firmness and shape. She does seem to be about 5¡¯9¡± and looking in the stream can see her blue eyes. It¡¯s difficult to tell but they are not just blue but a deep blue of mountain lakes. Her face is not the plain one she selected but a strikingly beautiful one that still conveys a strength of character about it as well. Her body type is athletic but in a perfect fitness model way. The character creation seemed to take his, sigh stupid gender pronouns, base idea and run with it in a way she did not intend. As she was checking herself out it finally registered that she was completely naked. At least the system got one aspect of being a new born right she thinks. Great naked, in a random forest somewhere and alone. Although the alone part might be a good thing right now this is not an ideal situation. May as well check her status screen and see if it has any clues to what has happened to him... This whole switching how one thinks of their own gender is harder to do than she first thought it was going to be. Twenty-six years of experience is going to be hard to unlearn. The base status screen is as she remembers it. However she forgot to switch the points in appearance to another stat. When she was male she figured being handsome would make life easier. Now as a woman she is no longer sure of that. Certainly having a pretty face will provide her lots of opportunities, but she is not sure they are the kind she wants. Looking into overpower and skills section they are different then what she selected.

Remembrance: For unknown reasons you remember your previous life and keep skill bonuses and knowledge from it.
Divine: Graced by a goddess you have started along the path of the divine. Base grants 50% bonus to stats. (extra picks: Tongues, Immunity to Disease)
Magic: By will alone you change the world around you. Base allows access to magic spells. (extra picks: holy specialization)
Chosen of Oriana The proto-goddess Oriana has chosen you as her champion. If she had any powers she would grant you bonuses. Perhaps if you help her gain strength she will bless you with new abilities. Currently no effect.
Cursed by Ninity You have angered the goddess of feminists and she will get her revenge upon you if she ever figures out who you are. Best to never be seen by her and avoid her least she recognize you. Currently no effect.
She wonders who Oriana is. As for Ninity she had no intention of ever seeing her again. Her high appearance stat might explain her gorgeous body but still doesn¡¯t explain the naked in a forest thing. Considering this a bit she thinks [Event log] On the screen that pops up she sees the last event was: Spawning Valoria in goddess Ninity start area. Well that part makes sense. But the previous events are a bit more enlightening to what happened. She is not entirely sure what it all means but apparently some kind of problem was encountered finding her suitable parents. The three templates and discarding a second mind part seems a bit disturbing though. Since Oriana is the same name as one of her overpowers and being discarded like so much trash seems wrong she decides to go look for the proto-goddess and see if she is alright. After an hour of searching she hears a dim cry off in the distance. As she gets closer she can start to hear the words better. ¡°WHY! What did I do wrong?¡± a woman cries ¡°The plan was perfect. Why did it turn out like this? What should I do now?¡± the crying continues Entering a small clearing in the woods she sees a glowing golden ball about three inches across moving about erratically. The woman¡¯s voice seems to be emanating from the glowing ball. ¡°Umm hello. Would you happen to be Oriana?¡± Valoria asks the glowing ball ¡°YOU!¡± The ball shrieks before flying at Valoria¡¯s face. *Puff* *Puff* *Puff* the ball repeated strikes Valoria in the face as she¡¯s too stunned by the oddity of it all to react. ¡°Give it back!¡± *Puff* Puff* *Puff* Like the gentle pats of a playful kitten ¡°You did something! What did you do?¡± *Puff* Puff* *Puff* Perhaps like the soft applying of makeup. ¡°How dare you take advantage of the naivety of a not even one year old goddess! You child abuser.¡± *Puff* *Puff* *Puff* Maybe like a light breeze of flower petals. The last words break Valoria out of her daze. ¡°Now hold on there. I have done nothing to you. I¡¯m certainly not a child abuser.¡± ¡°You deny it! YOU DENY IT!¡± *PuffPuffPuffPuffPuffPuff* The glowing ball goes into a frenzy of ineffectual attacks. Holding up her hands Valoria grabs the ball to stop its somewhat annoying attacks. ¡°I don¡¯t recall doing you any harm. Can we discuss this calmly and you can tell me how I¡¯ve wronged you?¡± Sputtering a bit the ball finally seems to calm down a bit. ¡°Fine.¡± Valoria releases her hold on the ball and asks, ¡°Are you Oriana? My name is Valoria.¡± ¡°I¡¯m what¡¯s left of Oriana. Valoria? That¡¯s kind of a pompous name.¡± Sighing Valoria replies, ¡°I like the sound of it and my old name didn¡¯t seem appropriate.¡± This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. ¡°I¡¯ll say with boobs like those. I know you were male in your former life but really now that body you picked is just silly.¡± Sighing again Valoria thinks [Event log] ¡°Perhaps this event log will help explain what happened to us.¡± ¡°You¡ you shouldn¡¯t be able to do that. How are you able to open that screen.¡± ¡°I just think [Event log] and it opens up.¡± Valoria demonstrates by opening the event log again. ¡°I didn¡¯t mean how you do it. I met how you have access to it. That screen should only be available to those with admin access. Only I and someone else should have access.¡± ¡°Maybe because I hacked into the admin mode to get around Ninity¡¯s character limitations?¡± ¡°You WHAT! Do you even know what you¡¯ve done? Of course you don¡¯t. You wouldn¡¯t be nonchalantly saying ¡®I hacked the admin mode¡¯ of the world rules system like that if you did. One wrong move and you could¡¯ve destroyed this world or unleashed energy your mortal mind could not comprehend.¡± Oriana exclaims before floating to the ground in apparent shock at what Valoria just said. ¡°It shouldn¡¯t even be possible to hack unless you had the right energy signature to begin with.¡± ¡°Would that be like your divine grace?¡± Valoria asks ¡°Yes that would be exactly like the grace you stole from me¡¡± It dawns on Oriana why Valoria was able to get access to the admin mode. ¡°Give my grace back before you break the world!¡± *Puff* *Puff* *Puff* Not this again Valoria thinks. ¡°I did not intentionally take your divine grace. The birthing process failed and gave it to me. Also why was both your template and my two templates part of the processes?¡± ¡°Err what?¡± Oriana pauses. ¡°Here look at the error log. After it couldn¡¯t find the right parents for a demigoddess it says something about merging templates.¡± Oriana floats over to read the event log. Then descends to the ground again. ¡°We¡¯re doomed.¡± ¡°Your rather a pessimist aren¡¯t you? Why is it so bad? Can¡¯t we just use admin mode or something to fix it all?¡± Valoria asks. ¡°It¡¯s not possible to just ¡®fix this¡¯ and how can you remain so calm? You died, got reborn, changed gender, found out there are gods and an afterlife. Shouldn¡¯t you be all what¡¯s the meaning of it all? Or why me? I mean I¡¯ve never done the whole afterlife guidance thing but really now my instincts tell me you should be freaking out.¡± ¡°Well this is all just a dream. A bit of an odd one I guess but the whole dying thing is doing weird stuff to my brain.¡± Says Valoria ¡°You think this is all a dream?¡± Oriana says in a state of shock. ¡°Of course, being naked, talking to a fictional glowing being and pain free. What else could it be? The whole VR game angle is neat too. It would¡¯ve been nice if I could¡¯ve lived a bit longer. There were some nice startups coming out with first gen VR in a few years.¡± ¡°You can¡¯t feel pain in dreams right? Pinch yourself.¡± Oriana commands. Valoria shrugs and pinches her own cheek. ¡°And I don¡¯t feel pain. In fact I¡¯ve never felt better. It¡¯s nice to be pain free. I haven¡¯t experienced that in years.¡± ¡°Arrrg. Stupid Demigoddess body. Forgot its natural pain resistance. Well this is all not just a dream. Its real life and we are completely doomed thanks to you. You exhibitionist, painless, ¡®let¡¯s mess with things we don¡¯t understand¡¯ bimbo!¡± Oriana shouts. ¡°Sigh, I know this is just a dream but I can¡¯t just give up on my weird adventure before it¡¯s even begun. Besides I¡¯m loving how easy it is to move without pain.¡± Valoria does a few stretches to demonstrate. ¡°Doomed.¡± Oriana wails floating to the ground. ¡°We can¡¯t know that unless we try.¡± ¡°You can only say that because you have no idea what we¡¯re up against and you¡¯ve completely destroyed the perfect plan!¡± ¡°Well how about you tell me what the original plan was and who we are up against?¡± Valoria suggests ¡°The original plan was to have you born a farm boy. Grow up with the right training and morals. Then some evil god killing your family and setting you upon a quest of justice which would eventually lead to the over throwing of all the evil gods. Of course I had a lot more details to that but they are all useless now.¡± ¡°That sounds clich¨¦ and boring. Also it has a ton of obvious holes in it.¡± ¡°It only sounds ¡®clich¨¦ and boring¡¯ because it works so well so everyone uses it. And what holes? It¡¯s the perfect plan!¡± ¡°Well for one the whole Ninity character limitation thing and two how was a farm boy supposed to take on all the evil gods?¡± Valoria point out. ¡°Well that was why I was merged with your soul. I was going to override Ninity¡¯s character creation process. Well till you messed it all up. And evil gods always underestimate mortals so they would¡¯ve never seen the farm boy coming. One day they are all arrogantly lording it over others then next thing they know farm boy holy sword to the gut. But a sexy demigoddess? They are going to be all over you. Sure you might take out the gods while they are trying to woo you but all the goddesses are going to be trying to kill you from the start.¡± ¡°So if you were merged with my soul why did you allow me to change anything? And why not just cause me to be born to begin with?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have enough power to cause you to be born. Needed to borrow that from another goddess. And the other thing umm well you see¡¡± Oriana hesitates. ¡°You fell asleep didn¡¯t you?¡± ¡°NO! Well maybe. Ninity¡¯s rant was just going on and on¡ It¡¯s a lot of hard work to cross the dimensional void. And I¡¯m only a one year old. I need my sleep. Shut up it¡¯s your fault!¡± Oriana says trying to shift the blame. ¡°So my adventure is to defeat all the evil gods? So first need to gain some experience and good loot. I don¡¯t suppose your original plan had allies I can gather did it? Sounds like I need to stay hidden too.¡± ¡°It had allies. All those other souls, not just Ninity¡¯s, but all the gods¡¯ souls are potentially your allies. And you have no way to stay hidden. Your divinity glows like a beacon. Not to mention being naked and having a body men will go to war over.¡± ¡°Yes those are good points. Hmm.¡± Valoria ponders. ¡°Good points? You mean completely unsurmountable odds.¡± ¡°My divinity use to be your divinity. Can I give it back? Also how did you plan on remaining hidden?¡± Valoria questions. ¡°I don¡¯t think so. The admin mode could be used to give my divine grace back but I don¡¯t trust your mortal mind to be able to handle the process. As for remaining hidden I was planning on staying out of the way and just show up occasionally to give hints to you. As the hero you need to be active and in front of people. Someone with magical sight is bound to see the glow sooner or later.¡± ¡°Why do I have to be the hero?¡± ¡°WHAT? After all that you said you¡¯re just going to give up! Haha well the evil gods will still hunt you down anyway they don¡¯t like sharing power.¡± ¡°Not what I meant. I plan on defeating those evil gods. If they are all like Ninity this world doesn¡¯t need them. But why as a hero? Why not as an assassin or well demons are always fighting gods right? What¡¯s the difference between demons and evil gods?¡± Valoria questions. Oriana looks at Valoria suspiciously. ¡°That doesn¡¯t sound very heroic¡ But to answer your question the difference is where demons and gods get their powers. Gods get power from people worshiping them and demons take their power from killing people.¡± Oriana explains ¡°So if I¡¯m not worshiped and I kill evil people while fighting gods wouldn¡¯t that make me a demon? Would I be less likely to be attacked by gods then?¡± ¡°Well maybe. Gods tend to avoid demons since powerful demons could also take their powers as well. The aura color is still wrong but maybe we can change it. Can¡¯t hide it but if they think it¡¯s a demonic aura that might work¡ No, it still won¡¯t work. You can¡¯t take powers from others since you¡¯re not a demon.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have to be a demon. I just have to make others think that I am to remain hidden. Well maybe hidden is the wrong word but still not being hunted by all the evil gods I mean.¡± ¡°True but just remaining hidden won¡¯t get you the power you need to defeat the evil gods.¡± Oriana points out. ¡°Gods, demons, it sounds like even farm boys can accumulate power. How was the farm boy me supposed to grow to be able to take on gods? What other ways are there to increase ones power?¡± Valoria asks. ¡°Well Overpower are the different power systems but how you grow them is based on your race type. So the system goes from gods, human, demi-human, beastman, demon, monster, abomination.¡± Oriana sees Valoria looking confused. ¡°Here let me write it into a list.¡± Valoria wonders how Oriana can write in the dirt as a glowing ball but asks, ¡°What¡¯s with the percentages?¡± ¡°Supposedly that¡¯s how close to being human each race type is. It¡¯s totally made up but humans seem to understand it better that way. Also its how humans on this world rationalize why they worship gods, enslave demihumans and beastmen and kill the others. Since gods are more than human, other are less than human and thus should be enslaved. Finally the last 3 are too far from human to be tolerated so must be killed.¡± ¡°That is a shitty irrational system. What if the humans job is soldier or a beastman blacksmith?¡± ¡°Well all the races have mixed so much that it tends to be a more of that¡¯s where they gain the most power from but can still do other things to grow sort of thing. Also as you surmised soldiers gain power from combat, by job leveling, and beastmen crafters tend to hold daily competitions which count as combat.¡± Oriana explains ¡°So as a demigoddess that means I get my power from where?¡± Valoria asks ¡°Well half goddess and half human so worship or job leveling. But if anyone worships you then the evil gods will find out in no time and smite us.¡± ¡°So I just need to get a demon like job, find the right cloths, or any cloths for that matter and advance up the demonic corporate ladder while everyone is trying to backstab me? It¡¯s just like working for a large corporation from my old world really.¡± Valoria quips. ¡°Ya nothing that one naked bimbo and one powerless goddess extraordinaire who are lost in the woods can¡¯t do. We are so doomed.¡± ¡°Cheer up. We have nowhere to go but up!¡± Valoria consoles the doom saying proto-goddess. Chapter 3 ¡°Well now that we¡¯ve decided on an end goal what do you think our first step to survive in the woods be?¡± Valoria ask. ¡°Well most heroes seem to kill bears as a first step to becoming heroes. Let¡¯s go hunt one of those.¡± Oriana answers. ¡°Right as I was saying we should first gather wood for a fire.¡± ¡°Aww, what about the bear~¡± Oriana says following after Valoria. Valoria looks at a tree. Then she looks at her fist. Then back at the tree. Nah she thinks. This might be a video game like dream but punching trees for wood doesn¡¯t seem like a viable solution. She instead gathers various twigs and branches that litter the forest floor. She also gathers many river stones from the nearby brook. As Valoria is gathering the most basic of raw materials ¡°My skills in survival indicates that we need fire, water, shelter and food to survive out in the woods. With weapons to fight various animals and monsters also a good idea to have.¡± ¡°Sadly it also indicates the best way to survive is to be well prepared and wait for rescue in one spot. It might not be entirely useful in this situation. ¡± After picking up several twigs and stones she notices a problem. ¡°I really don¡¯t have anything to carry all of this in.¡± ¡°Just use your inventory screen.¡± Oriana replies. Valoria thinks [Inventory] and a screen with 10 slots appears. She pushes in the gathered twigs and stones. They disappear when she touches the screen and appear with an icon and a number in the inventory screen. ¡°Now that is handy, not really realistic but very handy.¡± ¡°Everyone gets access to the inventory screen after they get their first Overpower. Leveling the porter skill, certain jobs or wearing backpacks and bags will increase its slots and stack size as well. What do you mean unrealistic? This world just has different basic rules then the one you were originally from. It¡¯s totally realistic.¡± Oriana explains. Valoria shrugs and continues to gather materials. She finds she can stack the items up to 10 on each slot. So after gathering a 100 sticks and stones she drops them off at a clearing she decided to make her base camp then continues to gather more. ¡°So how do I go about leveling a job, or even acquiring a job in the first place? I don¡¯t need a resume do I?¡± ¡°Just open up the job menu. All the jobs you¡¯ve met the requirements for will be listed. Just select one as the active job. Doing job related activities will gain job exp and once you¡¯ve gained enough your job level will advance.¡± ¡°What happens when I switch jobs?¡± Valoria asks. ¡°You keep all the skills and abilities gained but lose job specific bonuses. As your total job level increases you¡¯ll also unlock additional secondary job slots you can level. The first active job will always get 50% of the exp and the additional job slots will gain the other 50% divided among them. So if you had three jobs active then the first would gain 50% and the other two gain 25% of the experience. However you can gain experience by doing activities from any of the three active jobs. Of course if you have only one job active it gains 100% of the exp.¡± ¡°So can I just set the active job to whatever activity I¡¯m doing at the time and level it?¡± ¡°Basically yes. You have to wait one minute after your last skill usage but then you can change the active job. Technically you could change jobs in combat if you did nothing for a minute but practically you can only change jobs out of combat and while not in a stressful situation.¡± Oriana continues the explanation. Valoria waits a minute then thinks [Job menu]. A screen appears with active job: New born. And a selection list of jobs to change too with only one listing: Villager. ¡°I don¡¯t really have a lot of job listings. Only new born and villager are listed.¡± ¡°That¡¯s normal. When a person is first born they get the new born job. Basically the system automatically levels skills, stats, abilities and traits for them. Once the system judges the person to have enough self-awareness it switches their job to villager, peasant, slave, noble or merchant depending on the family that person was born into. Usually the switch happens around age of 4 or 5 for most people.¡± ¡°Any reason to stay as a new born then?¡± ¡°Nope leveling is at one tenth speed and you can only level certain skills. Like walking, talking, how to go to the bathroom and so on.¡± ¡°No comment about my childhood skills?¡± ¡°Insulting people is beneath a goddess such as I. Although I do find it interesting the system hasn¡¯t switched your job to Villager yet.¡± Valoria does a quick check of her childhood skills. They are all at 100 percent complete except common sense and culture role(female) which are both at 0%. Also the activities to level new born job are pretty basic. Not soiling yourself, putting on your own cloths, walking for 100 steps without falling over, ect. She selects switch to villager and a prompt pops up. Are you sure you wish to switch jobs? You will not be able to switch back to new born and level basic skills. She selects yes. *Flicker* *bzzt* *Flicker* ¡°Umm is the job screen supposed to flicker when you switch jobs?¡± ¡°Obviously not. What did you break now?¡± They both watch the screen as it flickers for a bit. Finally a ding is heard and the screen now displays active job: Villager+ with several greyed out jobs Page+, Immaculate+, Volunteer+, Jinxed+, and Traveler+ ¡°What¡¯s with the disabled job list and plus sign next to the jobs?¡± Valoria questions Oriana. ¡°I don¡¯t know. Normally jobs are either listed or not if you don¡¯t meet the requirements. I have no idea about the + by the job either. Can you look at description of any of them?¡± Valoria tries to look at the greyed out jobs but is unable to select them. Looking into the Villager job she sees the following information. Villager+ (Lv 0) ¨C One of the basic jobs that most other jobs branch off from. To open most other jobs Villager level 5 and job specific skills leveled to at least Senior Apprentice required. Some special jobs require certain actions, traits or abilities to access. Finding a teacher can help you know the requirements to unlock specific jobs but this is not necessary to access new jobs. Job bonuses: None - all skills grow at 100% base job effect and you gain 10% of base stats on level up. Job Special Abilities: None Job activities: Most activities that would benefit a small village count. Specifically farming, gathering, hunting, crafting, cooking, building, and so on. Activities that raise sub-skills do not count for job experience. Certain noble, merchant, or slave activities also do not count toward job experience. ¡°Well that is the basic villager job description. I don¡¯t see anything different than normal.¡± Oriana says after looking at the description. ¡°Guess we¡¯ll find out eventually. What job are you going to choose?¡± ¡°I¡¯m a goddess I don¡¯t need a job.¡± ¡°But without your divine grace does that still work?¡± ¡°Umm¡ Let me check.¡±

With Proto-Goddess greyed out. ¡°NOOOOOO!¡± ¡°You could always choose minion.¡± Valoria points out. ¡°That¡¯s even worse than hero guide. I want my old class back.¡± ¡°What¡¯s the difference between class and jobs?¡± Valoria asks trying to distract Oriana from her impending meltdown. ¡°Class is normally the same as your primary job. But certain titles, high level skills or secondary jobs chosen can change what is displayed. Ack. I didn¡¯t want to answer that. It¡¯s like an overwhelming urge to explain things when you ask me questions.¡± Oriana wails falling to the ground in despair. Seeing that she made things worse Valoria decides to continue gather materials and leave Oriana alone for a bit. She gathers dead branches, stones, leaf litter and anything else she comes across that seems interesting or useful. She runs into another problem gathering resources. Her hair is too long. Every time she picks up something it gets in the way. Even the light breeze keeps blowing the butt length hair into her face. For a bit she holds it in a ponytail with one hand and gathers resources with the other but this is less than ideal. Happily she discovers an interesting resource. Some of the trees have a fibrous bark that looks like stiff brown string. Trying it out she is able to use it as a hair tie. She decides to gather more of it on the hopes of being able to make some clothing for herself. In her material gathering she also finds a few mushrooms, nuts, herb like plants, and several bugs of various types in a partial rotten downed tree. Occasionally she sees small furry critters run by as well. A few attempts at throwing stones at them has yet to yield any success. Periodically she returns to the base camp to drop off another load of resources and check on Oriana. Mostly the glowing ball has been rolling back and forth on the ground feeling sorry for herself. Valoria thinks Oriana has finally fallen asleep as the ball is now slowly pulsating in a small leaf pile. Hopefully a nap will make her feel better. As the forest starts to noticeably darken she decides this will be her last trip and it¡¯s time to start a fire for the night. Although she could use her survival knowledge to start a fire without any tools this would be a time consuming task. Using her skill in life magic she should be able to start a fire easily enough. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it When she picked the life magic skill she thought it might be resurrection magic or maybe a holy based magic. But it¡¯s named life as in magic that is useful for everyday living. So sure she could start a fire with fire magic but life magic does that and so much more. Most of the life magic spells she knows are ritual magic. It requires drawing circles, runes, and sometimes special focuses such as crystals to cast. Also the spells take long chants and require anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes to complete. Lucky the focuses are easily gathered and she has found most of them. The chants themselves are usually just a few words repeated over and over. She clears an area down to bare ground and sets up a circle of stones to contain the fire. Then puts in a few twigs in a pyramid shape. Finally she draws a circle around it and then writes the word ignition. Casting the Tinder spell just requires her looking at a spot for ten seconds. Ten seconds later that part of the twig pile ignites and quickly spreads to the rest of the wood. Easy enough to do. As she is a Senior Apprentice skill level she can even use wet wood without drying it first. However she has no need of this today as the twigs she found were fairly dry. With the nearby brook she has been drinking from and the fire 2 out of her four needs are met. Even better she has no concerns drinking unfiltered water as she is immune to normal diseases. For shelter she could build a lean-to but with magic available she is not going to do it the mundane boring way. Another life spell will allow the ambient temperature around her to stay at a nice room temperature by up to 5 degrees per level for 24 hours. At level four in the skill means the temperature will adjust by up to +/- 20 degrees different from the air. Even without clothes she should be fine with a fire and leaf blanket. An additional life spell will keep water from her skin. First level is just keeping fog away, 2nd level morning dew, But at level four she can even keep dry in an average rain storm. Both spells take 10 minutes to cast. Instead of casting each one individual she decides to try casting both at the same time as 20 minutes of chanting sounds dull. Drawing all the shapes required on the ground and then setting up all the spell focuses for both spells she starts to cast both spells at the same time. At the end of ten minutes both spells take effect and the following appears.
New Skills Gained
combination casting (Layman 0%) ¨C Able to combine spells into a new spell. Usually used in ritual group casts for powerful spell casting. Dual-casting is a related skill but it casts two separate spells while this skill combines the spell effects into one spell with extra effects
concentration (Layman 0%) ¨C Better able to maintain mental focus or spell casting even in difficult situations
She did notice that casting both spells took more mana and was much more difficult than tinder to cast. Tinder just took 1 MP to cast and hardly any effort. The other two listed as taking 24 MP each to cast but at the end of casting she used 96 MP to cast. Also the mental effort was much more than she was expecting. However the new spell has the temperature, hydrophobic and a new anti-dust effect that keeps away small dust particles. She decides to name the new spell Environmental Control Shield. Well time to raise her cooking skill and get some food to eat. She first tries to determine what is edible by appraising it. Although she does gain skill raises in the appraise skill she still has no idea what any of the items she has are. Apparently she still needs to learn about items from somewhere else first. Instead she again relies on forage to determine what is likely poisonous. Mushrooms and brightly colored bugs are out as food; some are edible but many are poisonous. The nuts, other bugs and herbs should be fine to eat though. She tosses the hopefully edible bugs on the fire then uses two pieces of wood as a combination tong and chop stick to eat the crunchy delicacies. Not the worst food she has had. Still she hopes to be able to hunt tomorrow and get meat instead. A couple rocks and a few tries with her new body strength yields some very munch-able nuts as well. The first few attempts are still edible but the crushed nut and shell bits are not as tasty to eat. With her base needs satisfied she starts the process of crafting raw resources into useful tools and items. Hundreds of various stones, sticks and bark fiber will be her primary crafting materials. The starting area has lived up to its name. This area seems devoid of any dangerous animals and monsters. Along with an abundant supply of easily gathered starting resources this spot seems ideal for someone who literally started with nothing. Weapons are first to craft she thinks. Although the area seems safe there may still be monsters about. Also weapons should making hunting easier as well. Bows, spears and nets seem the best bet for good hunting tools. Also a knife for skinning and crafting would be useful. The only problem is she has no idea how to craft any of them. Well a sharp stone and using it to sharpen a stick should be easy enough. She remembers seeing a documentary once on how to craft stone tools. Gathering two rocks she bangs them together. With her greater than average strength both rocks shatter. This may be harder than it looks she thinks. Several attempts later she wonders if she¡¯ll ever be able to craft a knife this way. Controlling her strength more after the first attempt she no longer shatters the rocks but she still cracks most of them. At least this is all a dream so the rock shards and missed rock hits don¡¯t hurt. In reality her demi-goddess body and high pain tolerance both lessen the pain and increase the force needed to cut her skin is all. Eventually she is able to flake off a stone piece. A combination of finding the right type of stone and hitting it at an angle make the beginning of a nice sharpened edge. She still breaks the first stone she flaked but now that she has the right idea it¡¯s only a matter of practice to get it to work. Gathering together similar stones to the one that flaked she continues her crafting. The stones are perhaps flint? She is not sure but she seems to remember flint is good at making stone tools. Finally she produces a knife. The system pops up a message stating she crafted a shoddily crafting flint knife. The system at least confirmed the stone was flint even if it didn¡¯t like the quality of her work. Regardless of the quality the system thinks of her knife she is going to use it to make a spear. This goes much faster and she quickly produces 6 wooden spears. She decides to also get some good throwing stones. Sorting out the smaller and well balanced stones she finds 83 seem good for throwing
Items crafted
Shoddily crafted flint knife - dmg 0-1, durability 5, not very useful and likely to break at any time. Counts as a knife for crafting tools. +0% to crafting skill it¡¯s used as a tool in
Shoddily crafted pointed stick x6 - dmg 0-1, durability 5, not very useful and likely to break at any time. Counts as a tool for hunting. +0% to hunting skill
Average throwing stone x83 - dmg 1-4, durability 30, stone ammo to be used directly or in a sling. Counts as a tool for hunting. +10% to hunting skill
Well it¡¯s better than nothing. Opening up her inventory screen she puts them in. She finds that the pointed sticks only stack to 5 and the stones are all in one stack. Not sure on the logic behind this she chalks it up to one more bizarre rule of this world. Maybe it¡¯s due to the type changing from material to thrown weapon or ammo she thinks. For the rest of the night she tries to make the bark fiber into threads. After hours of trial and error she found pulling and twisting the bark fiber made a decently strong thread. After another hour she now has a couple feet of thread. This is slow work and to make a small bit of cloth she will need hundreds of feet. Maybe if she uses it to just stitch together and shape animal pelts she won¡¯t need as much. She¡¯ll have to try to hunt some animals tomorrow to try it out. Feeling the effects of the day she piles up the forest leaf litter and snuggles beneath the makeshift blanket. During the day she was very aware of her own bodies extra jiggles and tonight she thinks about exploring them a bit more. Even with high endurance, strength and fitness she is still exhausted from today¡¯s activities so decides to wait till another time. Survival first, fun time later. She falls asleep and during the night she has an odd dream.

After looking at them all she decides to go with one that will work for any job since abilities remain even if jobs are switched. She chooses Apt Pupil which gives a +10% to all skill gains. Chapter 4 This world is weird. Dreaming about daily tasks and leveling up. But the weirdest part is waking up to a bunch of slimy creepy crawlies all over her. Earthworms, slugs, and snails. ¡°I may be a demigoddess prancing about the woods naked but that doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯m a goddess of nature.¡± She says as she calmly picks off the slimy visitors and puts them into her inventory. She supposes she should act more feminine and scream or dance around but the bugs only mildly annoy her. Besides she can guess where they came from. The giggling ball only confirms her suspicions. ¡°Aww, I was hoping for more of a reaction.¡± Valoria says nothing and merely stares at the fire pit for 10 seconds till some unburned wood ignites. Then looking directly at Oriana says in a monotone voice, ¡°All enemies of mine shall be burned alive and devoured whole.¡± As she slowly one by one puts the insects on the fire to cook. ¡°Ummm, I guess I¡¯ll go over that way as you have breakfast.¡± Oriana bumps into a tree then quickly floats away. After breakfast Valoria takes in a deep breath before the beginning of her day. Hmm trudging around in the woods all day yesterday has left her smelling less than pleasant. Combined with her long twig tangled hair and slime trail tribal art on her skin she needs a bath. Time for more life magic. This spell was original used with falling water like a waterfall or sea spray but any puddle of water will do. She walks over to the brook and sits in a lotus position. Originally used to clear the mind and body of outside influences before casting difficult magic it is now mostly used as a way to quickly begin the day looking ones best. At the end of meditating for ten minutes the water quickly covers her and then splashes away. Leaving her hair untangled and skin completely clean. It even washed her teeth and made her breath smell minty fresh. She also braids her hair in a loose braid and ties a bow at the end with some of the thread she created yesterday. First thing she decides to do today is figure out why her movement seemed off yesterday. At first she thought it might be due to no shoes but that doesn¡¯t seem to be a problem. With the leaf litter she doesn¡¯t need to worry about cuts or blisters on her feet from walking around. It feels like walking on a plush carpet really. Maybe if she does her normal other world morning exercise routine she might understand what is wrong with her movements. She starts stretching. She needs to get back in the habit of daily exercise anyway. Sure while out in the wilderness she hardly needs even more physical exertion but always good to maintain a habit least you lose it when needed. As she is moving her body she realizes what is wrong with her movements. She is trying to move like a man in a woman¡¯s body. This seems like an obvious thing but muscle memory and not thinking about it hide the problem. For starters the center of gravity is lower on women. Men¡¯s mass is in the upper torso with broader shoulders and larger upper body muscles. While woman have their muscles more concentrated in their lower body. Her large bust also adds an additional sway as she walks. But the real problem is with her much wider hips. As a man her hips barley moved as she walked. Most of the motion was in an upper torso swagger. However as a woman this causes her to always be off balance. Trying out a few motions she finds slightly rolling her hips is the most efficient way to move. Finding this new way of moving kind of fun she starts to sashay around with a very exaggerated hip sway. ¡°I found a slime nest and figured you could use it to level up your combat skills. Besides as the local slimy things already like you I figured it¡¯d be a win-win for everyone. And¡ gahaha seriously?¡± Oriana starts to laugh when she sees Valoria. ¡°What? I¡¯m a woman now I can walk how I want.¡± Valoria pouts. ¡°The walking thing is funny but I¡¯m laughing due to your makeup. Where did you find it out here anyway?¡± Oriana continues to giggle. ¡°What makeup?¡± Oriana just keeps giggling. So Valoria goes back to the stream to see her reflection. She is indeed wearing subtle makeup. All she did was eat some bugs, exercised and cast a life magic spell with the description ¡°¡begin the day looking ones best.¡± That must be it. She cast the spell from memory so didn¡¯t really look at the spell information. Opening up her spell list she looks more closely at the spell description. The spell¡¯s name is Meditative Cleanse cast under falling water. However it has a variant called Full Body Cleanse and Makeup which is cast in the present of any non-falling water like a bath. Variant spells are two spells that are cast the same but on different materials. A tornado spell cast on water becomes a waterspout or when cast on fire becomes a fire whirl for instance. Generally the base spell remains unchanged but has added attributes. So Full Body Cleanse and Makeup still removed minor outside magical energies from her but also untangled her hair and applied makeup. Guess she¡¯ll always look like a Hollywood action girl now. With flawless hair and makeup with just a smudge of dirt after hours of action. ¡°You can bimbofy yourself later. Let¡¯s go play with the gooey xp bags.¡± ¡°I can understand raising my combat skills but how will killing slimes help with my job experience? It doesn¡¯t seem like something a villager would do.¡± ¡°This is a game world. So of course it needs places for people to have some fun and let off steam. World created creature nests are scattered about just for that.¡± Oriana explains. ¡°That still doesn¡¯t explain about the job experience though.¡± ¡°Well non-people creatures, NPC¡¯s for short, are generated and controlled by the world rule system. To encourage people to challenge themselves killing NPC¡¯s gives at least 1 xp and sometimes a valuable loot drop. An outdoor nest is the place they spawn in to. There are also dungeons for more skilled people. Dungeons give better experience and drops but are also much more difficult.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know, I really kind of want to hunt animals for pelts right now.¡± Valoria hesitates. ¡°Pfft you can spend hours trying to track down an animal to kill then miss your shot or you can train your aim on easy to hit slimes. Who knows you might get lucky and get some clothing from them.¡± ¡°They can drop clothes?¡± ¡°Well some NPC can. Loot drops are either raw materials for crafting or dropped adventure gear they picked up. Some of the high end NPC¡¯s can make equipment and it can drop sometimes as well. Slimes are the lowest of the low so they mostly just drop whatever they happened to move across like grass and rocks.¡± Seeing Oriana bouncing up and down in excitement Valoria says, ¡°Sigh, I guess I can practice my hunting and combat skills on the slimes then.¡± ¡°Yey, let¡¯s go!¡± Oriana zips off. Valoria runs to follow, ¡°Why are you so excited about this?¡± ¡°Since I¡¯m stuck with this hero guide class I¡¯m almost powerless. But there is one good thing about it. When you level up I level up. If I level up enough I might get my divine powers back. At the very least I can get some abilities I can use. Also nothing is more boring than watching someone else have fun and not being able to participate.¡± ¡°I¡¯m having fun surviving in the wilderness?¡± ¡°I¡¯d shake my booty in imitation of you if I wasn¡¯t a bodiless spirit.¡± Somewhat embarrassed Valoria quickly changing the subject, ¡°So what can you tell me about slimes?¡± ¡°They are easy to defeat, come in many colors, and are slimy. The blues are the weakest. Might be some reds which are just tougher blues and maybe a green which has status effects. The other colors are much harder to kill but are in dungeons only. The only sense they have is touch and really only attack if attacked first.¡± They quickly arrive at the slime nest. Valoria sees many a blue slime slowly moving around. Pulling out one of her crude spears she moves up to a slime and pokes at it tentatively. Just before the spear hits a green bar appears and deflects the spear. ¡°Put more effort into it! Those halfhearted pokes aren¡¯t going to get through its hp bar!¡± Oriana encourages. ¡°What is with this game like logic!¡± Valoria focuses and stabs the slime forcefully. This time the hp bar decreases to half what it was and turns yellow but the spear is still stopped. ¡°It¡¯d be poor game world design if a high level hero could be taken out with a random arrow hit or by a level 1 assassin in one blow wouldn¡¯t it? Anyone with an overpower also has hp that has to be decreased to zero before they take any physical damage.¡± The slime shrinks before it jumps to attack Valoria. She easily dodges its well telegraphed attack and stabs it again. The attack was only somewhat aimed as Valoria was focused on dodging and the slime hp only decreases by another quarter and changes red. ¡°That means I have an hp bar as well? Let¡¯s see how this works.¡± The slime attacks again this time hitting Valoria solidly in the abdomen as she stands still to receive the attack. A green hp bar appears and decreases by 3 hp before defecting the slime attack. However she still felt the pain of the blow. It felt like someone punched her in the stomach. She stabs at the slime again and this time the hp bar shatters before the spear stops several inches in the slime. She turns around to ask Oriana a question. Before she can ask feels another blow hits her in the back. ¡°What the hell?¡± The slime she stabbed is still alive and attacking. Although now it seems to be leaking blue goo. She stabs it as hard as she can and skewers it to the ground. A few twitches more and the slime stops moving before dissolving from the top down into one blue light. The blue light swirls around before entering Valoria. Valoria turns toward Oriana, ¡°Explain.¡± ¡°HP bar just prevents damage until it¡¯s gone. You still have to hurt the slime enough to kill it. The blue light was experience and you should check the ground it might have dropped an item.¡± ¡°These seem pretty tough and they are the weakest of NPC¡¯s? How do villagers take one out?¡± ¡°Well normal people don¡¯t solo them without training and barely functional weapons. After a couple years of training they form a party of 5 people and attack a single slime all at once. Slime hits just crack a rib or two at most so not much danger of dying.¡± Valoria goes over to check what the slime dropped. As she walks over she watches the goo that leaked out of the slime pulls together into a small mass. She appraises it and gets back it¡¯s a lump of goo of unknown monster and color. Her skill must still be low as she knows it came from a blue slime and well looks blue. With that thought the appraise window updates and now says blue slime goo. The quality, market price and usages are still listed as ???. Must be the skill level gives a certain amount of information but as she learns about items her own knowledge will be applied. Appraising the rest of the loot she finds A couple of small rocks, a large lump of grass which apparently has a usage, grass + drying = straw. Sigh this skill is not terribly useful so far. But she¡¯ll keep leveling it as she has read too many web stories where it is incredibly useful. She decides to try appraise on a slime to see if she¡¯ll learn all of its secrets. The appraise window appears but just displays the message ¡°Use the observe skill instead.¡± Reading the observe skill description she finds it¡¯s used the same way as appraise. Which is just to look at an object intently for a couple seconds and thinking about its properties. What¡¯s the difference she thinks. Maybe its intent? She tries again only this time is thinking about the observe skill instead of appraise. A window with some basic information appears. The window has it¡¯s picture, name, lv, basic stats, where it can be found, items dropped, weakness and basic description. Blue slime, lv1, drops grass, rocks, and the basic description is ¡°They are easy to defeat, come in many colors, and are slimy.¡± Did Oriana know that or is it that description because that¡¯s what Valoria heard from Oriana? There are a ton of ??? everywhere. Maybe if she kills some more it will fill out. She throws a few rocks at the slime to level the skill. They do less damage then a spear thrust which is interesting as the rocks have a higher base damage then the shoddily crafted pointy stick. Maybe her base stats or skills gets added to the damage she wonders. After an hour of grinding slimes she decides to take a break. She already broke all 6 of her spears and the last few slimes she decided to just punch and kick to death. She also leveled her healing magic a bit, not that she needed to but being more skilled seems like a good idea. Looking at the observe window again she sees much more slime information. Several stats are now listed and weakness listed are fire and pointy objects. Also more drops are listed with how often they drop. From experience she can say rocks and punches only took off 1 hp. She never used fire on them though so that must be from killing a lot of them or perhaps observe skill leveling. She wonders if she can one shot them if she had a sword? She remembers seeing kendo practitioners using wooden swords so she tries to make one of those. However after several attempts all she produced was 3 shoddily crafted long clubs. Deciding to go back to the tried and true method she produces another 8 poor quality pointy sticks. Another two hours of grinding and all her weapons are broken again. Although the poor quality lasted longer it still broke quickly. The grinding of NPC¡¯s is giving decent experience but its real benefit is the incredible skill gains. Still this is tedious without a quest and just killing the same NPC¡¯s over and over. To break up the monotony she tried to talk to Oriana but after a few minutes Oriana left to take a nap. Even picking up the drops is getting boring. Other than the rocks for throwing and a few interesting herbs she has left the rest of it to rot. The piles of grass and sticks everywhere sometimes make moving difficult but mostly she has been moving towards the center of the slime nest so she hasn¡¯t had many problems with it. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. The amount of slimes has noticeably decreased in the area but there are still more around than the number she has defeated. Creating another 11 pointed sticks she figures that should be enough to finish off all the slimes. She even made 2 normal spears instead of the pointy sticks which have slightly higher damage and much higher durability. Now that she knows the slime attack pattern fairly well she decides to try out a few different spear moves. First dual-wielding spears. She attacks the nearest slime with many rapid attacks and predictably most miss or are deflected doing no damage. The few that hit only do a point of damage. She has better luck attacking with one spear and using the other as a guard but really there is no point as slimes are easy to dodge. Next she equips one of the normal spears and charges at top speed at a slime. Its hp bar shatters and is still slightly hit by the spear. Another stab finishes it off. Now this is fun. She charges several more slimes in quick succession with much the same results. The last one she misses and breaks the normal spear when she hit the ground with it. The slime gets in a few attacks as she stumbles to regain her balance. Charging must decrease durability quickly she thinks dodging the lucky slimes attacks. Also it¡¯s tiring sprinting around constantly. Pulling out a poorly crafted pointy stick she jumps six feet in the air and lands with a loud cracking sound and breaks her weapon next to the slime. Again the slime attacks twice as she stands back up. Let¡¯s try that again, this time without missing. The next dive attack hits and does similar damage to a charge. However her weapon again shatters and leaves her unbalanced. A few more attacks by the slime and she decides to heal herself. ¡°With compassion let thyself feel the comfort of healing. Minor heal!¡± She calls out an aria. Her hp goes from almost full to full. She could¡¯ve skipped the aria but that reduces the power to 1/10th its original effect only healing by 3-5hps with minor heal. With the aria she healed 27hp to full. ¡°You must be the boss slime, I shall hit you with my ultimate musou attack!¡± Pulling out another poorly made spear she starts spinning around like a certain antenna headgear wearing video game character. After several misses she connects with the slime as it jumps up to attack. Crack! The slime goes flying and splatters against a nearby tree. ¡°Okay enough playing around or I¡¯m going to run out of weapons again.¡± She tells herself. She throws rocks at 5 of the slimes. As a fake demon lord to be she needs to be ready to take on multiple opponents she thinks to herself. She attacks one of the slimes getting in a good hit. A few dodges and she tries to attack again but has to abort to dodge. Even though the slimes attacks are simple and easily predicted keeping track of five at once is difficult. Every time she tries to attack a slime she has to abandon the attack to dodge. After several of these aborted attacks she gets frustrated. Ignoring defense she attacks again and hits a slime. This leaves her open to a slime¡¯s attack and one jumps at her legs. It hits causes her to lose her balance and she falls to her knees. She tries to stand up but can¡¯t. Looking down she sees the slime has enveloped her legs. ¡°The hell is this?¡± inverting her spear she attacks the slime on her legs. However the angle is bad and she doesn¡¯t do much damage. As she is focused on the attached slime two more attack and envelop her hips and right side. ¡°Hey I¡¯m not that type of girl get your sticky pseudopods off me!¡± She attacks again breaking the pointy stick. The other slimes also attack and attach to her naked body. She is now fully engulfed by slimes. She saw the attacks coming and took a deep breath before they happened. She tries to pull out another pointy stick to attack with. But with the slimes covering her she can¡¯t grip it. She tries to punch the slimes but it¡¯s like punching water they just flow around her taking no damage. Even worse she starts feeling a slight burning sensation and notices her hp slowly dropping. Several more attempts at damaging the slime with weapons or kicks also fail. She stops and thinks what she can do. Being digested alive is not something she wants to experience but she is far more concerned about not being able to breathe as she has plenty of hp. She tries casting minor healing. Although the burning sensation makes saying the aria in her mind difficult she is able to successfully cast magic. Next she casts her strongest barrier magic she hopes this will do something to the slimes. The barrier appears as a circle around her and the slimes but doesn¡¯t do anything. At her skill level it would only slow physical monsters movement as they try to cross anyway. As the slimes are already within it there is no effect. She rolls herself and the slimes through the barrier and the slimes shift somewhat but are still attached. Her lungs are starting to burn with the need for air and the burning sensation on her skin is getting stronger. Casting a barrier spell again this time she tries to imagine a skin tight barrier. Along with adjusting the aria she chants she tries to come up with a new spell. Her hope is to make a barrier close to her and then expand it. The first attempt uses up some mp but fails to do anything. The next causes a slight blue glow around her head. Encouraged she keeps trying. She is really getting desperate to breathe. Her third attempt again fails as she can¡¯t think about anything but getting air into her lungs. Her fourth attempt seems to work but as she tries to expand the barrier it splinters and fades away. She starts to panic. Her hp has decreased to half and she needs to breathe. She skips the aria and tries to just make a barrier but gasps for air causing it to fail. Gagging on the slime entering her mouth her vision starts to fade. She trashes trying to escape her fate but to no avail. Her trashing stops after a few moments and the drowning response starts. Her head tilts back and her arms gently start paddling in an attempt to find air. Her vision fades to black. She feels a gentle calm envelope her. [Is this it for me?] [My life has just begun. I don¡¯t want to die.] The ground around her and the slimes begins glowing blue. [I don¡¯t want to die.] A few glowing blue dust motes raise into the air. [No. That¡¯s not right. I want to live.] The various piles of sticks seem to light on fire and spark with St. Elmo¡¯s fire. [I want to live.] The slimes and her dying body lift into the air. [I WILL LIVE!] Her eyes snap open glowing a deep blue with power. I. WILL. LIVE. A sound so deep it shakes the very earth. So loud it can¡¯t be heard but only felt. A scream so powerful it blasts everything around it to dust. A devastating detonation powered by magic and the will to live snaps trees at their base and smashes them into the ground in a radius of 150 yards. The top foot of soil is stripped and turned into a wall of dirt and force which removes the branches from trees for another 100 yards and strips the leaves for another 50 before dissipating. In the center of it all a woman surrounded by a glowing golden aura floats. The aura fades and the woman drops unconscious into a perfect semi-hemisphere crater 15 feet deep.
