《Return of the Exiled Daughter》
CHapter 1: Exilement
At the Royal Courtroom of a certain country, a girl of noble heritage stood in front of that country¡¯s king with bounded hands and feet. She wore ragged clothes and her prided pink hair was disheveled.
She had an appearance which was unfitting of her stature as a noble.
¡°Leila Clesiastes, you have been charge with the crime of disrespecting royalty and for disloyalty. My son, crowned prince Jake Carthur Grandellia, and his classmates had bore witness to this.¡±
The man spoke with a husky and tired voice. This man had long wavy white hair and his face showed signs of aging and weariness. His name was Ark Sol Grandellia. He was the king of the country.
¡°It¡¯s a hoax! A lie! I would never do anything like that, Your Majesty. Believe me!¡±
¡°Be quiet, you deceitful girl.¡±
A young boy with blonde hair and cerulean blue eyes appeared near the king. He wore a deep blue military-like uniform and had an air of dignity surrounding him. This person was crowned prince Jake.
¡°Jake! How could you say something like that!? Ever since I was a child, I had never lied to you!¡±
The girl named Leila screamed with desparation at Jake.
¡°Please stop it nee-sama... It¡¯s quite unsightly.¡±
¡°Nii-sama¡¯s right, nee-sama. Please stop lying and atone for your crimes.¡±
A boy wearing aristocratic clothes and a girl wearing an expensive dress reprimanded Leila from behind. The boy had a slightly reddish hair while the girl had silver hair.
¡°Michelle! Mike! Even the two of you are accusing me!?¡±
¡°¡°....¡±¡±
The two looked at Leila with disgust.
¡°!¡±
Leila felt her heart getting crushed as she saw her two younger siblings glare at her.
¡°S-stop looking at me like that!¡±
Unable to bear their gaze, Leila used her hands to hide her face from them.
¡°How unbearable.¡±
A deep voice resounded within the royal courtroom. He had ash brown hair. His face was rugged and had scars in some places.
¡°F-father?¡±
Leila slowly turned to the direction where the voice had come from.
¡°Hiii!¡±
Seeing his expression, Leila couldn¡¯t help but shriek in fear. The reason why she shrieked in fear wasn¡¯t because his face was scary, but because of the heavy bloodlust he had emitted the moment their eyes had met.
Leila¡¯s father, Sir August Clesiastes, was a duke and a distinguished general. He was victorious in a lot of conflicts and was hailed as a hero by most of the populace that lived in the country. He was also called the greatest swordsman of their kingdom because of his prowess and ferocity in the battlefield. As a result, he was the second most influential person in the kingdom.
¡°Leila, by committing these crimes, you are hereby disowned. Henceforth, I and those two behind you are now strangers!¡±
Hearing her Father¡¯s declaration, Leila became pale as her feeling sank to despair.
¡°F-fath--¡±
Shin*
Her father¡¯s figure disappeared momentarily and reappeared near her. In between the two of them, a large broadsword could be seen.
¡°Did you not hear what I just said?¡±
¡°....¡¯
¡°We are now S-T-R-A-N-G-E-R-S, understand?¡±
Leila¡¯s father.... August intensified his bloodlust as he repeated his words.
¡°... Yes... August...sama.¡±
Because she didn¡¯t have a choice, Leila called his father by his name and with an honorific. Her heart became cold and her mind became blank as she lost her family.
¡°By the authority as King of this country, I hereby strip you of your noble status and be exiled to the neighboring country of Fleigma, Take her away!¡±
The King declared Leila¡¯s punishment.
¡°....¡±
Leila finally understood that no matter what she did or do, no one would help her. Because of that, Leila silently accepted her punishment as the soldiers urged her to walk to the exit.
As she continued to walk closer to the exit, a girl with long silky black hair and deep dark eyes appeared in the corners of her vision. She waved her hand to Leila with a smile. Others may see her smile as an innocent smile that pitied Leila. But for Leila, that smile was a smiled which was filled with arrogance.Leila didn¡¯t really know why she made such a smile to her. She didn¡¯t even know who that girl was.
Then, as the door of the Royal courtroom closed, Leila heard a loud applause from it. This caused Leila to feel an intense feeling of insecurity and impatience.
¡°Were they that happy with my exile? Did everyone hate me? Huh?¡±
Leila started questioning herself, the meaning of their applause, and the reason for her exile.
¡°Was I never loved by anyone? Was I only being played as a fool by them all this time? Huh? Did they exile me because they had grown bored with me?¡±
Leila became paranoid because of the event. Every time she a question floated on her mind, it would quickly be followed by another. Then, at the end of her questions, her heart became dyed with the color of fury and revenge.
¡°Did all of you think that you could throw me away like this? Huh? I shall come back to make all of you taste the same emotions I experienced today! I shall return!¡±
....
...
...
¡°Morning Akane!¡±
I turned my head behind me and saw a friend waving her hand at me.
¡°Morning Kaname~ Yawn*¡±
As I covered my yawn with my hand, Kaname raised one of her eyebrows as she approached me.

¡°A-K-A-N-E!!!¡±
Kaname suddenly started grinding my temples with her fists.
¡°Owowowowowowowow...¡±
¡°You were up again all night weren¡¯t you!? Weren¡¯t you!?¡±
¡°S-sorry! The game was so interesting. I couldn¡¯t help but play it till dawn!¡±
¡°The teacher will get mad if you sleep in the middle of class again you know.¡±
¡°Fufun~ Don¡¯t worry about that, I¡¯ve got it covered.¡±
¡°Hooo~¡±
I opened my bag and showed it¡¯s contents to Kaname.
¡°... I¡¯m speechless.¡±
¡°It¡¯s a great idea isn¡¯t it?¡±
¡°Oh yeah... It¡¯s a great idea. Stuffing your bag with that many cans of coffee is a great idea....¡±
¡°Hehe...¡±
While I was laughing out of embarrassment for the praise, I suddenly felt intense pain on my head.
¡°You idiot!¡±
¡°Ueee~ why¡¯d you punch my head Kaname?¡±
¡°To help you wake up!¡±
¡°I¡¯m already awake though.¡±
¡°No! You¡¯re still half asleep! What about books? You¡¯re notebooks?¡±
¡°They¡¯re inside of my bag of course.¡±
¡°Hee~ then show me one.¡±
¡°Un!¡±
Putting my hand into my bag, I searched for my textbooks?
....
...
Huh?
...
...
Ummm....
¡°Kaname! What should I do! I forgot my textbooks and notebooks at home!¡±
Tears formed at my eyes as I asked Kaname for help.
¡°You could run back to your home to get your textbooks.¡±
¡°But I¡¯ll be late if I do that!¡±
¡°Which do you prefer then? Being late and be scolded? Or going to school in time and be scolded for forgetting your books.¡±
¡°.... I¡¯ll be back!¡±
I quickly turned towards the direction of my house and made a mad dash to it.
Screeeeeeeeech!
Blinding light suddenly covered my entire view and the loud sound of a truck¡¯s horn deafened my ears.
¡°AKANE!!!¡±
Kaname suddenly shouted my name. I turned my head towards her and saw a truck heading towards me. My body stiffened in that moment. The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes in fear was Akane¡¯s dash towards me.
...
...
...
Suddenly, everything became quiet. I continued to close my eyes and after a few seconds, I decided to slowly open them.
Grrrrr....
A large gray 2 meter tall wolf stood in front of me.
¡°....¡±
Grrrrr.
¡°....¡±
Grrr...
¡°Grrr?¡±
In confusion, I mimicked the growling wolf while tilting my head to the side. Seeing my actions, the wolf jumped towards me.
¡°EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH!?¡±
I evaded his pounce by tumbling to the ground and since it missed me, the wolf¡¯s head crashed into a tree. I then took this opportunity to run away as quickly as possible. However, the moment I was about to run away, my consciousness suddenly faded away.
...
....
¡°Huh?¡±
Grrrr....
¡°Tsk... Dozing off in the middle of a battle like this.... It seems like I still need some more training.¡±
I bit my lower lip to reawaken my mind. My eyes quickly darted to the place where I stood last and found my sword which had fallen to the ground.
Since the wolf mysteriously banged his head to the tree, it was still trying to regain its composure. As such, I took this chance to run towards the sword.
I picked up the sword and charged towards the stunned wolf. When I had gotten close to him, I quickly stabbed the wolf¡¯s head with my sword. I then removed the sword from his head and stabbed it again. I continued stabbing it again and again and again. I only stopped stabbing the wolf when I became exhausted.
¡°haaa.... Haaa....¡±
I breathed heavily as I rested my back to a tree.
¡°haa... Even though... I¡¯ve been... Living in the forest for a month... I¡¯m still this weak huh.... Haa... Ha.... I need to get stronger.... Stronger..... When I do become strong... I¡¯ll come back to that kingdom and destroy it....¡±
I tightened my fist as I remembered the day when I was exiled.
In my head, I knew that this was an impossible goal to achieve. A single individual attempting to destroy a country truly is ridiculous. But, if I ever decide to give this goal up, my heart wouldn¡¯t be able to calm down otherwise. Because of that, I continued to live on.
Even if I¡¯m in the middle of a forest.
¡°Luck really does play an important role in some battles huh? Haha...¡±
I laughed to myself as I reminisced how lucky I was when I dodge the wolf¡¯s strike back then.
Changelog:
1.) Changed from 1st POV to 3rd POV when she was exiled
2.) Added a brief peek of Leila''s previous life
3.)Combined the last part to chapter 9 of the previous chapter
Next Chapter: Who are you?
The next chapter of the previous version was supposed to be Sieg''s story of how he met up with Leila,. Anyways~ I''ll post the next chapter tommorrow.
Well, I''ve decided to rewrite the whole thing~ Tehee.... the events before the rewrite will still happen. But that''s in the future though. The things I will write from here are the things that were supposed to happen after chapter 9, via flashback and stuff. I only rearranged the chapters and combined some as well as add a couple more details to the story. :)
Chapter 2: Assessing the current situation
¡°Phew, I think I¡¯ve rested enough...¡±
I went near the corpse of the wolf that I defeated and started dissembling its body. Though my hands were unskilled and clumsy, being able to do this was already enough. As for the reason why I knew this, it¡¯s because back when I was young, my father would often bring me to hunt small animals as a sport.
A hour had passed when I finished disassembling the wolf. I then used a random stick to pierce the pieces of meat and dangled it on top of the campfire I lit earlier. Since I couldn¡¯t eat an entire wolf by myself, I used earth magic to make a hole and buried the rest of it.
Crouching near the campfire, I wrote runes to prevent wild animals and monsters from approaching. After writing the runes, I sat near the campfire.
Silently watching the fire dance.
...
...
...
¡°Hmmm?¡±
Wafting the smell of burn meat, I removed my gaze from the fire and quickly removed the stick of meat from it.
¡°Haaaa~ Damn it.¡±
I cursed as I saw the piece of overcooked meat.
¡°I shouldn¡¯t have spaced out earlier.
...
Oh well.... Might as well eat this.¡±
I opened my mouth wide and bit the wolf¡¯s meat.
¡°!? DISGUSTING!!!¡±
I shouted to the heavens.
¡°Disgusting.... Disgusting.... Disgusting...¡±
I continued to repeat the word ¡®disgusting¡¯ every time I bit, chewed, and swallowed a piece of the wolf¡¯s meat.
¡°.... I¡¯m never eating wolf¡¯s meat again.¡±
Throwing away the stick that I used to pierce the wolf¡¯s meat, I vowed to myself.
¡°Yawn*, it¡¯s already getting late.... Let¡¯s sleep.¡±
I removed a part of my clothes and folded it to make a pillow. I then laid on the ground and slowly closed my eyes.
¡°Waaaaah!!!!¡±
I shouted to the top of my lungs.
¡°Huh?¡±
Looking around my surroundings, I noticed that the wolf was nowhere in sight.
¡°heh... Hehehe... So it was dream, hehe.¡±
As I laughed at how scared I got because of a dream, I noticed my hand holding something.
¡°?... A sword?¡±
Crackle*
¡°.... A campfire?¡±
Rustle*
¡°Trees?
...........................................................................................................................¡±
My head became blank.
¡°I must still be dreaming.... Un... That¡¯s right. This is just a dream. Hahaha, a dream. Let¡¯s wake up.¡±
Since I was knew that I was dreaming, I decided to imitate one of the things that some characters in some shows would do to wake up from a dream..
Pinching my cheek.
¡°Ouch!
...
Huh? Let¡¯s do it again.¡±
I pinched my cheek again.
¡°Ouch! Uhhh.... This time for sure, I should be awake.¡±
However, I was still in the middle of the forest.
¡°Hehehehe....¡±
I laughed powerlessly as I slowly accepted reality. Standing up from where I laid, I paced around the campfire..
¡°Let¡¯s assess the situation first.
Right now, I¡¯m in the middle of a forest. That¡¯s a sword. That¡¯s a campfire. That¡¯s a tree. That¡¯s grass. That¡¯s a purple moon.¡±
I pointed and started naming every little thing around me. Though this was a pointless, I didn¡¯t have anything else to do.
¡°Wait just a minute!¡±
My thoughts stopped as I realized something.
¡°Why¡¯s the moon glowing purple!!!¡±
I stared at purple moon and compared it to my memories.
¡°Yup, it¡¯s definitely not the moon that I know of.¡±
Then, I realized that something glowing in the corner of my eyes. Creeping closer to it, I discovered that the cause of the glow was a small scribble.
¡°How does this patch of earth glow? Is this artificial? Huh?¡±
As I reached my hand towards the scribble, something in my mind told me that it¡¯d be dangerous if I tampered with it. So I stopped moving my hand and crawled away from the scribble.
¡°.... Purple moon.... Glowing ground..... Could I perhaps be in a different world?
Hahaha... There¡¯s no way that that¡¯s true.... Hahahaha.¡±
I laughed again as I dismissed the ridiculous thought.
¡°Maybe I¡¯m just hallucinating.... Un... That¡¯s right.... For now, let¡¯s calm down and trace back my memories.¡±
I returned back to pacing around the campfire.
¡°Okay.... First, I woke up, washed my face, brushed my teeth, changed my clothes, ate breakfast, and went to school.
Un, so far so good.
Then, along the way, I met up with Kaname. I talked to Kaname and then I realized that I forgot my textbooks so I turned around and ran towards home...
Huh?
What happened next?¡±
I rubbed my head as I concentrated.
¡°Mumumu..... Ahhhh! That¡¯s right! A blinding light suddenly appeared from my side and then I was blown away by something.¡±
....
¡°....¡±
...
¡°....¡±
...
¡°... Did I perhaps, die from that?
Nononono! If I died, how come I¡¯m here!?¡±
I became really confused and my thoughts started to go around in circles.
¡°Hmmm? Hiiiiiiiii!¡±
I shrieked in reflex when I saw the wolf that I had thought of as a dream.
¡°Don¡¯t eat me.... I¡¯m not tasty.¡±
Closing my eyes out of fear, I covered my head using my arms .
....
However, no matter how long I waited for my inevitable end, I wasn¡¯t attacked.
¡°....Hm?¡±
Slowly, I opened my eyes and observed the wolf.
¡°....¡±
I warily approached the wolf. I picked up a burnt stick near the camp fire and poke the wolf.
¡°!!!¡±
When I poked it, I quickly ran behind a tree and observed it again.
¡°Phew~ it¡¯s was dead.¡±
Since I was quite confident that the wolf was dead, I went closer to inspect it.
¡°Uwaaa... It is big! Hmmm?¡±
Sniff*
¡°The smell of fresh blood still lingers from it.¡±
A thought then came up in my head as I observed the wolf.
¡°So that part with the wolf was also not a dream. Did someone rescue me or something?¡±
Moving my head from left to right, I saw nobody. I moved towards the bushes surrounding me and still found no one.
¡°There¡¯s no one here but me. Hmmmm.... maybe I when my consciousness was cut earlier, My instincts kicked in and I managed to kill the wolf.¡±
...
¡°There¡¯s no way something that convenient could happen. Hahaha!¡±
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
I laughed at the thought that floated on my head.
¡°Phew... since that wolf¡¯s dead, let¡¯s focus on more important things.¡±
Me dying.
¡°Hmmm... Where was I?
...
...
Oh yeah, I was worrying if I really died at that time.¡±
Switching the gears of my mind back, I started analyzing that light that blinded me and that force that blew me away.
¡°Did I die because I was hit by a car or something?
...
Thinking about it calmly, that¡¯s the most probable case.¡±
I nodded to myself.
¡°Next thing on the llist is that purple moon and that glowing ground over there.
...
Since earth doesn¡¯t have a purple moon, I may have been reincarnated into a new world.¡±
...
...
...
...
...
¡°REINCARNATION IS REAL!!! WOOHOOO!¡±
Since me being in the middle of a forest with a purple moon, that glowing scribble on the ground, and that fur of a dead wolf is already illogical. I switched off my common sense and use the logic of some fictions that I¡¯ve read on the internet.
And the conclusion that I made with that logic was ¡®Reincarnation¡±.
¡°Since this is the case, maybe I wasn¡¯t hit by a car. I was hit by the ¡®Reincarnation Truck-sama¡¯!¡±
I was using my internet logic to its limit.
¡°Hmmm... Let¡¯s think of what template I am in.¡±
Rubbing my head, I swam through the sea of memories looking for a story that fitted my current situation.
¡°Is this the Seirei Gensouki template or the Kenkyo template?¡±
I looked at my body and concluded that I was around 14 to 15 years old.
¡°Hmmm... I wish there was something that I could use to look at myself. Ahh! That¡¯s right.¡±
I picked up the sword that I dropped and unsheathed it. I was planning on using it as a mirror.
¡°Let¡¯s see what I look like.... I have pink colored hair that¡¯s tied into twin tatils, I have golden pupils, and my face looks quite cute.¡±
Seeing myself, I found a story whose first chapter situation were kinda similar to mine.
¡°So it¡¯s the Ragweed Princess of Ribitium template huh....¡±
Being in the middle of a forest and having someone save me from certain death, my situation really was close to that story.
¡°Nn! I¡¯ll thank my savior once he comes back! But just waiting will be boring.¡±
My gaze turned towards the glowing scribble.
¡°I¡¯ve been suspecting it for a while now, but could the reason why that scribble is glowing because of magic?¡±
With that in thought, my curiosity towards it and of magic increased.
¡°Well, since I¡¯m in another world, there has to be magic!¡±
I pumped myself up as the thought of becoming a mage filled my brain.
¡°First things first, how do I use magic? In some stories, the worlds with magic either have status screens like in VR stories or have a convenient thing known as mana floating around. I wonder which one this world is.¡±
Since I had a lot of free time, testing out which kind of world this was could prove to be a good time-killer.
¡°Open! Menu! Status! Status Open! Menu Open!
Hmmm.... So this isn¡¯t a game like world.¡±
Since waving my hands and shouting keywords to open screens wasn¡¯t working, I decided to stop.
¡°Then, this world must be the one with mana.
...
So how do I use mana? Should I meditate to feel it first or something?
....
Oh well, no harm in trying.¡±
I sat in a lotus position on the ground near the campfire and started meditating. I breathed deeply and exhaled slowly. Repeating this, I felt a water like substance surrounding me.
(Could this perhaps be mana? It¡¯s kinda thick, I wonder I didn¡¯t feel it earlier. Oh?)
As I was feeling the mana, I felt something warm from within my body. I concentrated my thoughts towards it with a thought that that something was my inner mana.
However, I was wrong.
As I continued to concentrate on that war feeling, what I found wasn¡¯t inner mana, but a soul, but because this was my first time feeling a soul, I had decided to pry in deeper.
¡°So this is the feeling of my soul?¡±
Flicker*
The warm feeling that was being emanated by the soul flickered a bit. Being curious, I tried using my thoughts to mold my supposed soul.
[Nnnnnn.]
A voice resounded in my head as I molded the soul.
¡°Huh?¡±
Hearing the voice peaked my curiosity further, as such, I decided to mold it even more vigorously.
[Who the hell is disturbing my sleep!]
My arms suddenly started waving in front of me.
¡°ooooh!¡±
I sighed in surprise as I observe my moving arms.
¡°Who¡¯s there?¡±
My mouth moved on its own and asked a question.
¡°Ummm... No one¡¯s here you know.¡±
¡°huh?¡±
¡°There¡¯s nobody here but me.¡±
¡°Where are you hiding from! Show yourself to me!¡±
As my mouth demanded me to show myself, I realized something. What I felt earlier wasn¡¯t my soul, it was the soul of this body¡¯s owner. This meant that I wasn¡¯t reincarnated into a different world.
In some religions and stories, there are some lines that says that within our body, a soul resides within it. Once that body dies, the soul is then sent up to heaven. In my case, my soul was sent to a different world. What¡¯s more, my soul had possessed this girl¡¯s body.
¡°How do I explain this...¡±
¡°!?¡±
In response to me using her mouth to talk, I felt my body tense up in surprise.
¡°I¡¯m inside of you.¡±
Since I didn¡¯t know how to convey my realization, I only managed to spit out a vague answer.
¡°What do you mean by that?¡±
¡°I¡¯m the soul of a girl that died in a traffic accident and for some reason, I ended up inside of you!¡±
Because my answer was so illogical, my mouth could only open it¡¯s mouth wide in astonishment.
¡°With that said, let¡¯s get along! My name¡¯s Kaname Ichinomiya! What¡¯s yours?¡±
¡°....¡±
¡°...?¡±
¡°WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON HERE!!!¡±
The owner of the body screamed in confusion instead of replying to my introduction. Who¡¯d blame her though?
LOL, sorry for the delay, my schedule got a bit busy so I didn''t have time to write. I only had time today though.
@bladestorm91
It previously had 9 chapters, however I decided to rewrite it because the characters where quite incosistent. :p
