 Prolog An Awful Life

    Pain all I have is pain. Along with sadness and hatred in this darkness. It never leaves and it never lessens. The reason for this is my life. More precisely the people of my life are the reason. I am, ... I was called Allan Jons. I grew up in modern society and had a mother and a father. They abandoned me at age 5 leaving me with my older sister who at the time just graduated high school. From then on she would beat me for keeping her from going to college and getting a good job.


    She''d make me work as if I was her personal slave. Because of this when I went to school I would enjoy it like it was paradise. In elementary I didn''t have many friends the teachers said I give off a bad vibe. I didn''t understand her meaning but I still enjoyed school because I wasn''t hurt there. This would continue until high school. When I entered high school I made 2 friends.


    One was a guy named brad who was popular with the ladies. Not surprising since he had a face you couldn''t say no to. His hair went to the back of his neck and was colored a light blonde. He also had a well toned body, and great grades, and was a head taller than me. I was surprised he became friends with me since I was mostly average with average length black hair, average build, and average grades except for a bad vibe that surrounds me.


    The other was a girl named Saran and just like me she was mostly average. But gave off a dependable person vibe which made her get along great with others. She had brown hair that went just below her shoulders and was my height.


    We all got along quite well which was a nice for a change but the feeling of friendship would immediately disappear when I got home. For the next year we hung out and got along great of course every now and then they would ask about my life at home which was a topic I avoided. But then, in my 2nd year in high school, a transfer student named Jayleen arrived and her beauty stole my heart. She had long black hair, great curves, and amazingly beautiful jade eyes. It was immediately love at first sight.


    I would spend the next year trying to get her to notice me. I would listen in on her conversation with others hoping to find a way to impress her. Or try to figure out what she was interested in so we could have a conversation. My friends even tried to help. Then one day she started to take notice of me.


    She started talking to me, laughing at my jokes, and a month or so later she started to flirt with me. I thought I was finally going to be happy the girl I liked seemed to like me and I had great friends. I was so na?ve. One day before I left school Saran came up to me and said Jayleen wanted to see me in one of the classrooms. I was really excited to hear this that I immediately rushed off to meet her.


    When I entered the classroom though what greeted me wasn''t the girl I loved but a sight no one wants to see. Jayleen was in the middle of the classroom making out with Brad. I was so shocked that I dropped my stuff which caused the 2 to notice my presence.


    (W-w-what''s going on?) I said


    Brad and Jayleen both looked at me. Brad''s eyes seemed to smile and so did his face while


    Jayleen looked at me with a look of indifference.

When I sat up blood started coming from my nose.


    Then Brad looked at me and in a cold voice said (We were never friends! I only got close to you because no one wanted to come close to the lonely and depressing guy. Thanks to that when I got friendly with you all the girls that would always follow me kept their distance when I was with you. Besides you aren''t good enough for Jayleen.)


    He then looked at Jayleen and said (tell him.) Jayleen nodded then looked at me and said (He''s right you aren''t good enough your just a creepy, ugly loser whose only purpose was for me to pretend to like you so I could have more time with my darling Brad.) After she said that tears started going down my eyes which they laughed at then they started to kick me saying I was useless trash and scum. Then the door burst open and Saran came running in. The other two got away then Saran held out her hand and helped me up asking if I was okay. When I was on my feet Saran looked at the two who caused me pain and said (You two are worse than trash.)


    Both Brad and Jayleen were both a little shocked then brad smiled and said (Then what are you when you knew since the beginning but didn''t tell him and instead helped us.) Hearing this I felt even more pain in my chest as I looked at Saran whose worried face only confirmed what had been said. Now trembling a little I asked (I-it cant be true. You knew. You were toying with me too?) She reached out her hand towards me saying (N-no its not like that. I only did it so you wouldn''t get hur-). I slapped her hand not even listening which cut her off. I then ran off with tears in my eyes. I ran and ran until I reached my house. I sat in the dark feeling pain. Pain that came from my parents abandoning me. Pain from my sister that tortured me. Pain from my friends that toyed with and used me. Pain from the girl I loved who only crushed my heart.


    I wanted the pain to go away but it didn''t it only grew. It grew and grew until I heard voice that said (Why don''t you die. It will stop the pain.) I began thinking (If I die then there would be no more pain.) Since there was no reason for me to live and no one would care I grabbed a kitchen knife. But I decided to do it at a park that had flowers that I always found beautiful. Leaving the house with the knife hidden in my clothes I headed towards the park. When I got there I looked around and saw no one. Then I went to the flowers and looked at their beauty. Seeing this I was know ready I took out the knife and stabbed my neck.


    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!


    I turned and saw Saran and Jayleen their faces filled with shock and torment.


    I then fell over, darkness started filling my vision and my last thoughts were filled with regret that the last thing I saw were two people that caused me pain.

 Chapter 1 A job offer

    Darkness... all I see is darkness. Its so dark that I can''t see my own hand in front of my face. Wait do I even have hands? Oh well not like it matters. I am dead after all but this place doesn''t seem like hell or heaven. Where am I?


    (Your in purgatory.) Suddenly a voice boomed out of nowhere that shook even me. I was so surprised that I forgot about my pain, sadness, and hatred. But that feeling quickly returned.


    I tried asking who spoke hoping I wasn''t going crazy from my time in this place since for all I knew a year could have gone bye. But nothing came out like I didn''t have a voice. Actually I don''t think I have a mouth anymore. Then the voice spoke again saying (You are an excellent choice.) Then suddenly there was a flash of light and I found myself in front of people.


    Their were only 8 of them. We were in what looked like a chapel but there was nothing in it. Only a few marble columns, the floor and the walls which didn''t have windows. Actually I wasn''t even sure if this was a chapel. Then a voice behind me said (Is this him?) I turned around to look at the people only to discover how unique they looked.


    Their were 4 males and 4 females. 2 of the males looked like Greek scholars since they were wearing what looked to be togas. One guy had what looked like a robe that belonged to a wizard and had a large gray beard and long gray hair. The final guy had a devil sort of look to him. He had red fiery skin, horns on his head, and teeth that looked like spikes. He was also wearing a suit that screamed rich.


    The females however had faces and body''s that would stop any man in his tracks and their chests guaranteed dirty fantasies . 1 was wearing a lab coat and had glasses along with long dark purple hair. She looked really intelligent. Another had a dark robe and hood over her head and she gave off a gloomy feeling. Next was one that looked like a farm girl that had blond hair made into a ponytail and freckles which made her really cute and was wearing a farm girl outfit. The last one I couldn''t really look at without blushing. The only thing she used to cover her self were what looked like twigs and had a bow behind her back. Her skin was like a grayish green. Her eyes were silver and she had long black hair.

    The man with the beard said (yes. This is the one.) He then looked at me and asked (You are Allan Jons right?) authority filled his voice. I hesitated at first scared about what might happen to me. Then I answered (Y-y-yes that''s me.) Then the man said (You probably have question so let me start by saying you are inside a area outside of space and time and that we are makers.) I was immediately shocked and confused. I then began wondering how this was possible and what makers are. Then as if reading my thoughts the devil looking guy spoke (Makers are beings that started everything. We created the universe and life.) His voice sounded deep and a little to evil.


    But upon hearing this I thought they were gods. Then the woman in the robe spoke (We are not like those pathetic gods we are above them.) Her voice sent chills down my spine. Then the man with the beard spoke again (Calm down Imelda.) He then looked at me (We are going to offer you a job. If you refuse we will send you back to purgatory where you will stay for all eternity.) Now I was really scared. I did not want to spend eternity alone with the feeling of pain, sadness, and hatred. Then after gaining some courage I asked (W-w-what''s the job) They all smiled and the bearded man said (Destroy humanity and everything connected to them.)

 Chapter 2 The Darkness begins

    My mind goes blank. It takes me a while to register what he said. ( W-what?) The man with the beard looked at me (As I said we want you to destroy humanity and everything they were involved with.) I t took me awhile to register what he said before I finally asked (Why me? I''m just a nobody that no one cares about. Besides aren''t you all strong enough to do it yourselves.)


    They all stared at me then finally one of the guys in the togas spoke (Everything you said is true however the universe isn''t really strong actually you could say to us the universe is more than glass.) Then the other toga guy spoke (If we were to do this than any power we use would leak into the universe and in all likely hood destroy it.) Then the one called Imelda spoke (It isn''t easy to make a universe you know! It takes serious power and everything has to be perfect down to the last detail.)


    After hearing this I was so scared that my legs nearly gave out from under me. But I used every last ounce of willpower I had to remain standing. (These people wipe everything out in an instant if they wanted to) I thought to myself. Then the girl in the lab coat spoke (The reason we chose you is because even death could not take away your pain. It could not soften your sadness and it could not dampen your growing hatred. All of these were what the humans gave you. They not only harmed you physically but emotionally and mentally.)


    When she finished I began to understand a little but then a thought entered my mind (Aren''t their others like me? What makes me different?) One of the toga guys spoke (All most all of them went insane to soften the pain or had some purpose in their lives.) Then the other toga guy spoke (You however you kept your sanity even though it slipped a little there in the end and no one gave you a purpose other than to be a puppet for their amusement.)


    I could feel the pain again as it started growing more painful after hearing what he said then I asked (So why would you all want the humans gone?) The person to answer this was surprisingly the woman wearing twigs. (The humans are starting to destroy everything along with themselves. If this keeps up then there will be no life in the universe.) I began to think about what was said and couldn''t help but agree with her after all many species of plants and animals have gone extinct because of humans. As I was thinking the man with the beard said (Of course we will reward you with a new life and our guarantee that you will finally experience happiness.)


    Hearing this I almost readily agreed to this however before I answered I thought about it a little and said (What will happen to the other species which are connected to humanity?) The farm girl answered (They will be reborn forgetting everything about their past life and everything about humans.) I couldn''t help but sigh in relief (At least they wont stop existing and maybe they will be happier.) While I was thinking this a thought occurred to me. I then looked at them and said (I will happily agree but only if the humans that are innocent also get reborn.) I tried to look at them without fear on my face but it was next to impossible. Then the man with the beard said (What do you mean by innocent?) His voice sounded a little annoyed. However I forced myself to push on (I mean like children and people who like me are powerless and are forced to be in constant pain for doing nothing.)


    They all looked at me then themselves for a little while before finally the devil guy spoke (Your condition is fair however we will judge which are guilty because even though they suffer does not mean they are exempt from humanity''s crimes.) Hearing this I was a little happy because those that are innocent will at least get a chance at happiness. Having my mind made up I said (Than I agree to your offer.) They all looked at me and smiled and the woman with the twigs said (To do this you will need some serious power which we will give you but I must warn you it will be pain that even exceeds the pain you feel inside yourself.) I hesitated a little before I said (Any price is worth it as long as I finally get to feel happiness.)

    Their smiles grew even more before they all lifted up a hand and a black looking orb left each of their hands. The orbs slowly flew towards me. Before they got to me I noticed something moving in a few of them and they all gave off an aura that one would avoid at all costs. Before I could have second thoughts they all entered my body and a pain that no one should receive entered me. Even a genius of pain and torture could never come near this feeling. I immediately fell forward screaming and clawing at myself to get the pain out. This went on for what felt like an eternity before the pain lessened to the amount I always feel. However unlike before felt power, great power, power that makes one think that they can do anything.


    After I finally stood up the man the beard said (You will have to figure out how to use this power yourself.) Then there was another flash of light and immediate darkness. I felt like I was in water but I could still breath and even though it was completely black I could see through it to a light that was above me. I swam towards the light and when I emerged I found myself in a forest. But that thought soon disappeared because when I looked down there was no water. Instead their was solid ground with a dark circle about 5 feet in diameter which I was in the center of. Inside the circle was just darkness. Even the ground was completely black.


    I began wondering how I swam in the solid ground. Also while I looked into the darkness it seemed to go down into the earth like a hole when I knew I was on solid ground. I then tried walking out of the circle but the circle stretched into the way I was heading still 5 feet ahead of me. Now the circle turned into an oval. But I was confused because when I started moving I felt things entering the darkness. I soon came to realize it was the grass and a few bugs under the ground. I could tell because when the darkness touches it I could both see and feel it like it was a part of my very being.


    However they quickly became a part of the darkness. I began to focus on the spot where the bugs were trying to focus on the spot the bugs were just at. But I was soon seeing what looks like a tunnel while at the same time looking out through my own eyes at the forest. I was a bit surprised at first but after a little while I came to realize that wherever the darkness is I can see through it whether be above or below. However I can only see 5 feet away from the darkness that I created in any direction. I decided to call this <Minds eye>. After this I walked towards a tree. As soon as the darkness touched it the tree began to sink straight into the ground. It was like the earth was pulling on its roots forcing the tree to go down.


    The tree soon disappeared into the darkness leaving no trace it even existed. I reached out my hand touching the ground then it hit me. (I HAVE HANDS?!) I immediately looked down and saw my legs and arms. I was so happy to see have a body again that I used <Minds eye> to look at myself. I had my original body! Same size, same build, same black hair. However their were 2 changes to my body. 1 were my eyes, they were golden yellow and they seemed to be glowing a little. The 2nd was my eyes looked like they were crying blood. Besides this everything was normal. Same body, same hurricane of pain, sadness, and hatred inside. Then one cold breeze later I realized I was naked.


    I put my hands around myself subconsciously. Then what looked like a tentacle shot out of the darkness around me and wrapped me in it. I was a bit surprised but then I thought (Maybe I can make the darkness take on shapes) I was correct when after awhile of concentration I was able to make things with shapes come out of the darkness. I then covered my upper body to my feet in darkness. Only my neck and head was exposed. I then began to walk, darkness still expanding ahead of me and staying where I''ve been, I was ready to start my mission.

 Chapter 3 The power of darkness

    The sun was about to set and I understood a little more about my power. Whenever something entered any part of the darkness I will immediately know what it is and where it is. It seems the darkness is like a part of my body. Which made me worried (If the darkness is harmed will I feel pain?) Also I can create many tentacles from the darkness but it takes a lot of concentration which forces me to stop moving in order to do so. Also my <Minds Eye> skill can look out from anywhere that is darkness and I can see out of the darkness for up to 50 feet. The weirdest thing about my new powers though is how when any of the three things I feel inside (Pain, Sadness, Hatred) grows the darkness seems to grow tentacles, arms with hands, and what looks like string all on it''s own. Then they proceed to lash out at anything, even me. They destroyed trees and caused holes in the ground. Even though the arms and tentacles caused a lot of destruction. The string cut through trees like nothing was there.


    I discovered this when what seemed like a wolf with hair that looked like steel attacked me. It took me by surprise while I was testing my powers. It jumped out from behind some bushes as I was walking by and bit me right where my right shoulder meets my neck. I could immediately feel the pain and the next thing I know the darkness around me goes berserk. When it attacked me though it went right through me. Next thing I know the darkness around me rises like tiny streams of water and enters the wound I received from the wolf healing it almost instantly. After this was done the darkness seemed to calm down. After the darkness returned to the ground I immediately looked at the damage.


    Not only were the trees destroyed and the ground riddled with holes but bit''s of the wolf were everywhere. It''s blood covered everything except the darkness. It''s flesh and organs looked like a knife went through them non stop. The largest part of the wolf that remained mostly intact was half its head. I immediately had the darkness cover the scene of carnage. I felt the bits of wolf enter the darkness but the wolf parts didn''t disappear in the darkness like the plants and bugs did. It just stayed there in the darkness. I decided to figure out what this means later and used <Minds Eye>. It seems the darkness only destroyed everything within a 1 mile radius of me. (I should probably figure out how to control this before it becomes troublesome.)


    After thinking this I started walking and tried to figure out how to complete my job. After a little walking I felt something enter the darkness about a few miles back. The darkness quickly consumed it and like the remains of the wolf it didn''t disappear. When I focused on it I could see a rabbit about half my size surrounded by the darkness. I was of course confused about why this rabbit was so big but then I thought (This means that I don''t have to personally destroy things I just need to cover everything in darkness.) Then it hit me (This means I literally have to go to every corner of the world to complete my job.) This made me depressed immediately since this could take a long time to do. After a couple of minutes of complaining about this I then stood up started walking and began thinking about how to shorten the time needed.


    I continued walking and thinking until sunset. During the time I was walking a few more creatures entered the darkness. 1 was a giant spider that had a few feet on me and looked like a black widow. It grossed me out a little. The next were a few more of those wolves with fur that looked like steel. The last two however were foxes with silver fur. One was bigger than the other. The bigger one was the same size as the rabbit, had 4 tails and was seriously injured while the smaller one was normal sized and had 1 tail. The darkness seemed to keep the bigger one alive. After I looked at each of them I continued walking. Before the sun went down I found a cave and entered. Inside I found an answer to a question I have been asking myself (Is this even earth?) In the cave I found 4 dozen little green creatures that had pointy ears, big noses, and a big mouth filled with sharp looking teeth.


    (....Goblins?!) That was my first thought upon seeing these creatures. While I was stunned and confused by these creatures they almost immediately noticed me and attacked. Some had large sticks that looked like clubs a few had spears which were sticks with a sharp end and the rest had tiny bows. The ones with bows immediately fired and hit me but something was odd. While the arrows were flying at me they seemed to be really slow. Which gave me enough time to think (These things are really slow. I wonder why? Maybe I can avoid them?) To my surprise I was much faster than the arrows. I was able to get out of their path completely. But I wasn''t paying attention and one of the creatures with a spear stabbed me from behind.

    I immediately felt the pain but this was a good chance to keep the darkness under my control. I began to concentrate to force the darkness not to create a massacre. It proved quiet difficult and before I could completely regain control of it again a few of the creatures were already ripped to shreds. After the pain ceased a little I grabbed the spear in my back only to find out it was sinking into my body and the only things left of the creature that put it there were its arms. The creatures that could see what just happened, the darkness attacked a few, cutting out their eyeballs. The others stopped attacking and had a look of both fear and anger on their faces and in their eyes. I then walked around the entrance of the cave so that if they tried to escape they would be pulled into the darkness. I then summoned some tentacles and attacked the creatures.


    Either the creatures were really weak or the tentacles were really strong because they were able to pick up the creatures like they were as light as a feather. The tentacles were also able to tear the creatures in two as if they were paper. The ones I didn''t kill I dragged into the darkness. A few did try to escape but they fell into my trap. This continued until half remained when I heard (URAAAGGAAAAAA). I turned around only to see the same type of creature only it was fatter than the others and had a helmet and metal armor on its chest. In each of its hands their were what looked like tiny swords just above being called a dagger. It was in front of the others who seemed like they were backing away. (Guess he''s the boss.) as I thought this I noticed how pissed he looked. He just stood there giving me the evil eye and so I did the same. I guess mine worked better when I noticed the sweat forming on his forehead. Guess I have the changes to my eyes to thank for that.


    It didn''t seem to like this since it immediately charged toward me screaming it''s head off and sword''s raised. However before it got near me I had the tentacles grab each of it''s limbs limbs and lift him up in the air. (Let''s see how my powers work on it without dragging it into the darkness.) I then proceeded to experiment on him. I discovered that the tentacles not only tore through flesh and bone but metal as well. The armor was destroyed instantly as I forced it off his body to get to his flesh. Also when I ripped off an arm then proceeded to pour darkness on the wound as if the darkness was water. This thought originated from when the darkness healed me after I was harmed. Because of my connection to the darkness I could feel the warmth of his blood as it rushed into the darkness. (Guess I can''t stop the bleeding.) As I thought this I made the darkness rush into its body. I kept adding to the darkness inside his body and making it expand through his body. Until he stopped struggling and next thing I know I am being filled with visions. (....No wait! These are memory''s! This things memories!)


    It seems I was correct in guessing these were goblins. This one seems to have become the leader only by killing those stronger than him and taking their stuff. As I looked through his memories I was able to learn the goblin language. All of a sudden a rough voice said (Give me your orders master.) It was the goblin leader that said this. (It seems I can make creatures loyal to no other than me.) I smiled when I figured this out. Then I turned to the other goblin''s, approached them, and for the next few minutes only screams exited from the cave.

 Chapter 4 beginnings of an army

    It has been a few day''s since I entered the cave and during that time I made a small army. I also learned a few things. 1 is that this world is called Aerthon. Many creatures call this place home. I used the goblins memories as a source. Their are humans here along with elves and pig-man things the goblins call orcs. They also showed me a few of the creatures that lived in the forest outside. It seems the wolf that attacked me along with the ones I captured are called steel wolves. It seems they not only attack with their teeth and claws but it seems if your touched by the fur it can cut you like steel and it''s just as hard. The big spider I caught seems to be rare around here since I couldn''t find anything about it in the goblins memories. It''s the same thing with the foxes as I couldn''t find a thing in the memories. I was able to figure out a little more about my powers too. When I had the darkness spread throughout the goblins body I was able to feel their heart beats and hear their thoughts.


    This soon became really annoying. So with a bit of time and concentration I made the darkness cause pain to their hearts if they thought about betraying me and altered their brains so they only thought about being loyal to me. Then I shut off the connection that allowed me to know whats happening inside them both physically and mentally. But I noticed something odd. While I was concentrating on cutting the connection the goblins and me had. Inside each goblin was a bright orb thing that went beyond the goblins minds and body''s. I first thought it was a soul but I wasn''t sure. Then I noticed a part of the orb was black. Like it separated itself from the rest. When I poured the darkness into the orb it became a part of the darkness and I tried to get to the part that separated itself from the rest. At first it resisted but then I put more darkness into it and I immediately got to the separated part. Then a change occurred in the goblins body''s. The goblins were wrapped in black light and began to grow.


    The goblins grew until they became average height  or taller. Not only that but unlike before where they all looked the same with bald heads, big noses, and sharp teeth. They all started to grow hair. They also gained muscles which differed between them. Some had average muscles which compared to before when they had twigs for muscles is quite the improvement. While others kept growing till they grew 6 packs. Some grew breasts and had some curves along with a beautiful face to complete the package. I was shocked (How could these things who just a few seconds were so weak and disturbingly ugly turn into strong and beautiful looking creatures?) I began interrogating each and every goblin. Each said they felt much stronger and much more powerful. Some even made fireballs and a little lightning. After I finally wrapped my mind around these incredible changes these guys went through. I then brought the creatures that fell victim to the darkness out. They seemed to be like the goblins. They seemed very loyal and the injured fox seemed much better.


    Like the goblins they to had the orbs though they were different sizes. The one with the largest orb was the bigger fox. Then the lager fox spoke to me though it didn''t use it''s mouth or the darkness. It just spoke directly into my mind (I thank you creature for saving mine and my child''s life.) It seems that they were running away from a bear that used some sort of wind magic. The bigger fox, who is called Gerard, was injured protecting his daughter, who is called Wendy. It seems Gerard was on his last few breaths before they fell victim to the darkness. Gerard and Wendy are from a rare species called silver foxes. They make great companions for warriors and wizards because they contain incredible magic power which can be morphed into whatever is necessary for their masters. But the problem is that the the fox and the individual have to be compatible with each other or their power will never be unlocked. Because of this those that tried to have a fox be their companion only to find their incompatible would kill the fox in a fit of rage.

    (I would like it if you became the master for my child.) Hearing this I turned to Gerard shocked that he said this and asked (Why would you want me as her master?) Than Gerard spoke (We need to repay you for saving our lives and since I had a master already I can''t offer you anything else other than to be a loyal soldier which isn''t enough to repay this debt.) After hearing this I thought about it a little and said (Only if Wendy wants this since i''d rather not force her into it.) Then another voice spoke this time it was a girl''s voice (I am more than willing to go through with this.) The voice came from Wendy and it sounded determined. I sighed after hearing this and said (Alright so what do we need to do to see if i''m compatible?) (Actually I already tested that and we are more than compatible.) When Wendy said that I asked (When did you do this?) It seems even if your in the darkness you still remain conscious and you can even feel the pain, sadness, and hatred that I feel. After she felt this she wanted to become my companion to help me out and did the test.


    Apparently she understood my pain since a group of humans killed her family members because they weren''t compatible with them or they already had masters. Apparently they were all rounded, Wendy included, and when they found out they weren''t compatible they would kill the foxes. Wendy was the last one and before they tested her Gerard showed up and killed them all. Hearing this I said (Alright what do I need to do?) Gerard replied (To form a contract you need to offer a drop of blood to Wendy so that her powers can be unlocked and to show as proof that you two are connected as master and companion.) I nodded when I heard this and did what he said. When I cut my finger black blood came out then I held it out to Wendy. She then began to lick it then a couple of seconds later there was a sudden light that filled the cave and the light slowly became darker. When I turned and looked what greeted my eye''s wasn''t a little fox but a beautiful, naked girl with fox ears and a tail.


    (W-w-Wendy?) I asked (Yes it is me. Why do you ask?) It doesn''t seem like she''s noticed yet. She looks down and notices her changes. She''s about 5 ft, long silver hair, great curves, a huge bust, and a face that can make your heart skip a beat. But her eye''s stood out from the rest. They were like 2 beautiful ruby''s that could entice you. She looked at Gerard for an explanation (This is unusual. It is said that the only way for a silver fox to take on the form of a human is that the one compatible with the fox must have unbelievable power.) Like me he was shocked and confused. Then asked me (What exactly are you?) (..... I can''t answer that since not even I know what I am anymore.) was the response I gave.


    Before anything else could happen I made Wendy a top and pants using the darkness to cover herself up with. (Quickly put these on.) I said while I was looking away from her. She looked at the clothes smiled and said (Thank you master.) When she finished putting on the clothes I said (Could you not call me master? It''s a little weird.) She looked at me confused and asked (Than what shall I call you?) She asked a good question. (What should I be called?) I thought to myself. The name Allan Jons only comes with painful memories of my past life. I thought for a few minutes than spoke (You can call me Lucien.)


    Wendy looked at me. A bit of sadness can be seen in here eyes. (I wonder what''s wrong?) I thought. Than she smiled and said (Alright thanks Lucien.)

    Dammit what did we do to deserve this? First humans kill my mother and siblings. Now were being hunted by a bear that uses wind as a weapon.

    Suddenly the ground is black and were sinking.

    When I turned to look at father he was trying to move but he couldn''t. Even the fireballs he conjured didn''t do any damage. He struggled some more until only his head was above ground. He then looked at me.


    Gerard: (Wendy, I''m sor...)


    He was sucked in.

    Then I was sucked in.

    After I thought this I was greeted with pain. I immediately screamed out. I screamed for what seemed like hours until it eased up a little.


    Wendy: (Huff! What the hell was that?)


    Then I immediately felt really sad and I started to cry. But I not only felt sad I felt a rage start to burn inside me.


    (What could possibly cause this?)


    I began to try to focus on the source. The source of all this suffering came in the form of a human.


    (No that''s wrong. This thing isn''t a human.)


    I don''t know how I know this but I just do. It seem''s that he has suffered more than me. Then I noticed something odd.

    When I looked at him more closely I could see what looked like dark fog leek out of him. When I touched it I immediately went through the same suffering as earlier. Then something stabbed him from behind and immediately the black fog leaked out from him.


    (AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!)


    This was completely different from before. It feels like something is gnawing on my innards. Then the black fog was sucked back into the boy.


    (Huff! Huff! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!)


    I was filled with rage. The black that greeted my eye''s was turning into a dark red. Like the color of blood. Then I felt nothing but sadness. I cried again. The feelings of being in pain, being sad, and being pissed were much, much stronger then when those human''s slaughtered my family.


    (The suffering I went through can''t even be compared to his suffering. It seems he is unconsciously blocking most of it out. ...I-I want to help him ease his suffering.)


    I then thought about the only way I could help him. I then proceeded to see if we were compatible.

    It''s been about a few weeks since I came to Aerthon. During this time I enslaved some goblins, gave them more power and gained a companion, and trained them in combat because I doubt the human''s would offer themselves to the darkness willingly. Gerard''s master was apparently a powerful wizard who was considered a genius in everything except fire magic. So when Gerard became his companion he became a master of fire magic. Also he picked up a few tricks and some knowledge from his master on the general things about magic. But his master was killed in a war and thanks to this he could become my underling.


    I decided to put Gerard in charge of any animal-like creatures that fell pray to the darkness. I did ask him if he could teach me about magic. Apparently magic has 3 main categories Light, Dark, and service magic. Light and dark magic allowed you access to attack magic like fireballs and necromancy. While service magic was for workers like blacksmith''s, alchemists, and enchanter''s. But apparently not everyone can use magic and if they can it''s sealed until a special orb unlocks it. The only beings that have their magic sealed are the human''s, elves, dwarf''s, and beast-men. But only the human''s and elves can fully unlock their magic power. The dwarf''s have a weaker version of service magic. While the beast-men can''t use magic at all.


    Lucien: (Wait. So does this mean i''m like this orb thing since I unlocked something inside the goblins?)


    Gerard: (Not exactly. The goblins that lived a long time ago were said to be much stronger and could use magic but they slowly turned into the current weak, ugly goblins of today. If I had to guess i''d say you gave them back that power.)

    When I heard this I wondered how I could easily give them such strong power. Then I asked


    Lucien: (Does this mean the darkness I manipulate is my magic?)


    Gerard: (Not exactly. While your darkness does have some magical properties to it, it is easier to say it is a part of your very being. When I was in the darkness I could sense your power''s but they are sealed which means you need the orb to unlock them.)


    Hearing this I was immediately depressed. Than after a few minutes of thinking


    Lucien: (I guess this means I have to attack a human village and take an orb.)


    However when I looked at my little army I frowned. The goblin''s were still fascinated with the new strength they received. The animals though I could tell they weren''t used to working with other species beside their own. Also Wendy was still trying to figure out what her powers were.


    (These guy''s are far from ready to fight and if I do it alone someone might escape and alert others of my existence.)


    I wasn''t all that worried about normal weapons but I wasn''t sure about enchanted weapons and magic.


    (Could they harm me? Guess I won''t find out staying here.)


    I then decided to have the goblins and animals go through training which was just attack, defense, and teamwork. I made it so that they can converse using the darkness. I also had Gerard teach Wendy and the goblins, that used attack magic, how to understand and use their power''s. This would go on for the next week and a half. During this time there was an incident where a fire ball a goblin conjured got a little too close to my head. So as punishment I ripped off his leg''s, cut off his fingers one by one, and pulled out his tongue. When I finished doing this I used the darkness inside his mind to make him go through his biggest fear again and again and again. This served as a way to satisfy my hatred which has been growing recently nearly consuming my mind and serve as an example to the other''s. Of course I put him back together again.


    After this the other''s tried even harder not to disappoint me and become the next outlet for my wrath. Every now and then Wendy would look at me with a little sadness in her eyes.


    (Hmm, it seems no one is getting tired or hungry. Guess it''s a side effect of the darkness.)


    Because of this they were always training only stopping to make more wooden clubs or spears and arrows when they get to damaged. Wendy knows a little more about her powers. She seems to have a power called


    which allows her to summon strings that attach to a beings body and manipulate it. While under her control she can make the creature exceed it''s limits making them stronger and faster than their body''s allow. After a few day''s I had them go out and hunt the creatures in the forest. They were to severely injure any creature they came across and toss it into the darkness. But as soon as they stepped out of the cave, which was covered in darkness, the darkness expanded around them. Like me the darkness surrounds them covering where they step.


    (Guess I didn''t notice since the cave is just rocks and dirt and is covered in the darkness.)


    However the darkness only goes out to 2 ft around them. But this just means I got a big break.


    (This means the more creature''s I control the more the darkness spreads.)


    Wendy got 10 Steel wolves, 5 large rabbits which are surprisingly quick, and 3 giant snakes that look like branches.


    Gerard and his animals got 28 steel wolves, 15 orcs, 8 giant snakes, and 1 lizard-man thing they found in a river.


    The goblins only got 4 steel wolves, 1 giant rabbit, and a giant bear.


    (Well I guess this is enough to attack a village. There''s a village at the edge of the forest but I don''t know if they have an orb.)


    When my little pawns returned I announced my plan''s to attack the village and they all cheered. Apparently the human''s at the village like to hunt and slaughter the creatures of the forest. While everyone else was partying and getting ready for the fight I went to my own little corner of the cave which I separated from the rest by raising the darkness like a wall till it reached the ceiling.


    ???: (Can we talk Lucien?)


    I turned and saw Wendy standing behind me.


    Lucien: (Sure, come in.)


    She and I entered my little room and I made a little blob thing she could sit on since a rock is uncomfortable.

 Chapter 6 Causing a little hell

    (Lucien pov)


    Wendy: (You see, ...when we did the contract... I saw some of your memories.)


    Hearing this I narrowed my eyes at her and asked

    Wendy: (W-well I saw your sister harming you an-and two humans beating you up.)


    Hearing her say this I felt all I could feel grow inside me. I tried to forget all about them but hearing here say this reminded me of it all. My heart felt like a knife stabbed it. While my blood lust grew and my mind remembered the suffering they caused me.


    (I WANT TO KILL THEM! I WANT TO KILL THEM! I WANT THEIR CARCASSES CRUSHED BENEATH MY FEET!)


    Then I felt something hold me and heard someone crying. This caused me to regain my senses only to find Wendy was the cause.


    Wendy: (You were never happy. All you''ve ever known is suffering. I-I want to help you be happy any way I can.)


    She looked at me. Tears coming from her eye''s.


    Lucien: (The only way I can become happy is if I get rid of the human''s.)


    She looked at me and nodded.

    She suddenly leaned in real close to me and kissed me. My mind went blank and we stayed like that for awhile until she stopped and said

    Immediately we rushed out of the cave and headed towards the village. The blood lust that surrounded us was thick and continued to grow. It only took us 2 hours hours to reach the village. The forest is to the south of the village so I ordered the group to split up into 2 groups. 1 attacks from the west while the other attacks from the east. Gerard and his animals are the west group. While Wendy, the goblins, and the orcs are to attack from the east. I will go around and attack from the north.


    After we were all in position I ordered the attack.


    Immediately screams could be heard while arrows hit their marks. Humans could be seen being ripped to shreds by the steel wolves and giant rabbits. Not only were the rabbits really fast but they had claws on their feet which were really sharp and tore through the humans. The goblins and orcs beat the humans to a bloody pulp before they fell into the darkness. Gerard conjured some fireballs and roasted some humans to a black crisp. While I made thin dark string to rip them to shreds and had tentacles drag them into the darkness. When ever I killed a human the suffering I felt lessened.


    After a few minutes some humans could be seen fighting back but they didn''t do so well. But every now and then they would get a lucky hit and injure one of the goblins or rabbit''s. But the darkness healed them immediately. Some humans tried to run but would fall in the darkness. This continued until a dozen humans were left. They were in the center of the village and we immediately surrounded them. The remaining human''s were just children and woman. They all looked weak except 1 girl which had on some armor and a long sword in her hands. She looked to be 18 or 19. Had long red hair and looked to be 6 ft tall.


    She looked at us not sure what to do but she tried to not let it show on her face. I started walking towards the little group and her gaze immediately fell on me. I think she knew I was the leader because when she saw me she hesitated a little and immediately gave a look of resolve. She rushed towards me, sword ready to strike while I just kept walking. Then when she was in front of me she stabbed right into where my heart should be. She gave a smile which quickly vanished after she saw the darkness start to heal me. She tried to free her weapon but it was already being consumed. Then she started sinking into the ground. She resisted until she was consumed up to her shoulders at which point she looked at me, hatred in her eye''s, and said


    Girl: (Monster!)


    Then she went down. I then looked at the remaining humans with fear in their faces and dragged them into the black ground.


    I then breathed in and shouted


    Lucien: (VICTORY!!)


    Crowd: (HUURRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH)

    While Lucien and his group are celebrating their victory. Back on earth the 4 people that caused him kill himself are having different reactions to his death.

 Chapter 7 Headache

    Lucien pov


    (This place doesn''t have one stupid power orb thing?!)


    We had just finished celebrating our victory and I had finished bringing the livable buildings out from the darkness. The reason I put them in there in the first place was to quicken the search for valuable thing''s. I checked everything I made it look like their was a empty black spot in the middle of the fields that surrounded the village. Sure we got some weapons, armor and some beautiful looking jewelry, which I gave to Wendy, but not one orb like thing except for a few pearls.


    After I brought out the living space from the darkness I turned to the human''s hoping for answer''s. But when I focused on them I gasped. It seems that when the human''s entered the darkness their mind''s separated from their body''s. I brought forth one of the human''s body''s only to find it blank. Well not exactly blank it still had it''s appearance, knowledge, and experience. What was missing was the human''s personality. They were just ...empty. When I gave them a few orders, since the darkness might not have made them loyal, they followed each order to the letter without complaint. Seeing this I was relieved now that I know I can make them pawn''s.


    (I''ll deal with their conscious personality''s later.)


    Then I analyzed their mind''s. It seems the village has to be larger than this to have a orb and it''s real name is power crystal. While it is shaped like a orb it glows beautifully like a crystal hence the name. But not all was lost, it seems that some high ranking wizard comes around the smaller village''s looking for those with talent for magic. He also brings the power crystal but it seems he will appear in two weeks. When I discovered this I sighed happily


    (At least I won''t have to wait for month''s till this guy show''s up.)


    I then ordered my army to go into the forest and make it disappear into the darkness. The reason for this was to get more numbers to serve under me. Also the wizard that show''s up might be very powerful so I need number''s to exhaust and trap him. After everyone left, except Wendy who I told to stay with me, I then turned to my next little problem: the human''s personality''s.


    Of course they were still in the darkness when I asked them

    I made it so the darkness wouldn''t make them loyal so I could hear their honest answer''s. The one''s that said no, which were a few men, a couple of woman, and a child, I immediately erased everything about them except their body''s of course. The one''s that said yes were of the larger group and that female warrior was among them. I then looked through each of their memory''s to see if they caused other''s harm for no good reason. The one''s I found innocent were mostly women and children and a few men. The one''s that I found guilty would live through their worst fear''s over and over before I erase them. One was a merchant that would go to poor town''s that are suffering from disease or hunger and charge outrageous prices taking everything they had. The potions that were supposed to cure them were just water and the food would make them cough up blood.


    His worst fear was losing all his money and having to be a beggar. Another guy was a guard who would rape woman saying if they didn''t do as he asked he would arrest them for some made up crime. His worst fear was the woman he raped turn on him and torture him then be arrested and hang. The rest were a few murderer''s and mostly thieve''s. The murderer''s did it for the simple reason''s like jealousy, greed, or hatred. The thieves did it for the same reason''s. After they went through their worst fear''s I erased them. I then turned to the group that passed


    Lucien: (Now, all of you have passed so I will tell you what your new destiny will be. Each of you will serve under me and help me rid this world of the human''s and all that are involved with them. Which in simpler terms means YOU WILL HELP ME DESTROY THE WORLD!)


    I let it sink in a little before I spoke again

When you want something you take it regardless of who get''s hurt along the way. The entire human race needs to be annihilated before further damage is done too other species. Which will make this world better. You have to pay for your crimes. ...You don''t have to say yes but if you refuse all I will erase are your personality''s. Your body''s will still serve me.)


    Trisha: (Then what will happen to us if we help you?)


    Lucien: (I can''t guarantee this but if you help me you might be reborn into better life.)

    A few did refuse so I erased them and I put the rest inside their own body''s. Surprisingly Trisha was among them. And so they became one with the darkness.

    It''s been one week since we took over the village and during that time more than half the forest has disappeared. The human''s have joined the ranks and are settling in quite nicely. Every now and then my suffering would increase but I was able to calm down. Wendy and I had the biggest house to ourselves. We would sometimes have some fun in the bedroom which also helped me calm down.


    (Just one more week.)


    I was thinking by myself while everyone else was either training or in the forest. Than suddenly Trisha showed up a little red in the face


    Trisha: (Lucien I have a favor to ask.)


    Lucien: (Oh? What is it?)


    Trisha: (W-will you marry me?)


    Lucien: (WHAAA?)


    It turns out that Trisha vowed to marry any man that beat''s her in a fight. Though in the beginning she didn''t really want to because of what I did to the village. Though apparently when I punished the one''s that deserved it and didn''t force any one to do anything. She saw me in a better light, though I don''t know why. It seems she also understand''s the pain the human''s cause thanks to her time as a slave and want''s to help me make this world better. She also pointed out how I don''t treat my subordinate''s like trash regardless of what they are.


    ???: (Nooo! I won''t allow it!)


    We both turned and saw Wendy standing a few feet away from us.


    Wendy: (There is no way I will hand over Lucien to the like''s of you!)


    Trisha: (Oh? And what makes him your''s.)


    Wendy: (Well he is my master and...)


    She turns red

    Trisha was serious and moved into the house with me and Wendy. Both of them keep arguing about who I should choose and who is sexier. Hearing all this I couldn''t help but think

    It''s the day before the wizard is supposed to show up. Which to me is like the light at the end of a tunnel. It has been a rough week. Ever since Trisha moved in she and Wendy have been fighting and a few times she''s tried to get it on with me, which honestly I was more than willing to go through with. But Wendy would stop it before it started. It was the same with their roles reversed too. Their constant bickering was really annoying and gave me more than a few headaches. I even considered erasing their personality''s once. I even thought the same thing for my pawn''s because they started complaining about how training and forest duty was getting old. I then stopped myself from going through with it because being surrounded by blank''s would be both boring and a little lonely. So to calm myself down I broke a few bones in some animal''s and orc''s.


    However after this little act a miracle happened. Well two miracles which honestly was like a god send for me. When I finished venting. I saw Wendy and Trisha standing a few feet away from me. When I noticed them they left and a few hours later they came up to me saying how they noticed how they were becoming a annoyance to me and decided to make up. This made me relieved since I don''t have to hear them arguing twenty-four seven. Then a giant rabbit showed up in front of me.


    GR: (Master we found a entrance to a dungeon while we were sinking the forest.)


    Hearing this I felt like a great weight was lifted off my shoulder''s. If this was like a dungeon in a game then there would be treasure at the end. I then told everyone about the dungeon using the darkness and more than half went to it. There were fifty floors to the dungeon. I stayed in the village so I can get better at using the darkness. I did keep a eye on things in the dungeon using <Mind''s Eye>. I also discovered a new trick to the darkness. I was able to make copy''s. Well not exactly copy''s but I made the darkness take on the shape of a person that had the same figure as me but they were completely black. My mind was also able to see, hear, and move them. But I also stayed with my original self. It was like being in two places at once which caused me to get dizzy a few time''s. But I was able to get the hang of it. The most copy''s I can make is 5. Anymore and I can''t tell left from right. I also learned that if the copy''s get close to another being they envelope them making another loyal pawn.


    Thanks to this and my pawns training they were able to get through all fifty levels in no time. It seems the human''s were pretty weak. They were only stronger than some wild boar''s that were in the forest. Also it seems that giant spider I caught came from the dungeon. Their was a whole nest of them at the bottom but they were easy to overcome because I studied the one under my command. A few times my pawn''s did get stuck in a web but I just ripped through them with tentacles. Their mind''s don''t really remember much except how to trap pray which is the same with the first spider.


    When the nest was consumed I had the copy''s start looking for something of value. After a few minutes of searching they found a door behind a lot of webs. What was inside made the other''s go in a trance but I was disappointed. It was gold. A huge pile of gold that was 20 feet tall. The reason I was disappointed was because we didn''t use anything like currency. Since we don''t need to eat and we just take what we find except armor and weapons, which I give to the strongest of my subjects. Of course all they have to do is touch a creature for it to be consumed. But they don''t like pain and weapons make thing''s faster. Anyway while the goblin''s went for the gold my copy''s found some weapons and armor.


    After all the ransacking they left the dungeon and returned with happy expressions. Among the loot was a sword that kind of glowed. Although it seemed odd I decided to give it to Trisha.


    Trisha: (Th-this is a enchanted sword.)


    Lucien: (Seriously?! Well what can it do?)


    Trisha: (I won''t know until I try it out.)


    (Hmm this is actually a good opportunity.)


    Lucien: (Trisha I want you to cut off my hand with that sword.)


    Trisha: (What?! Why?!)


    Lucien: (Because i''m trying to see if i''m weak to anything. Gerard''s magic didn''t work and neither does normal weapons. I have yet to try a enchanted weapon and other magic besides fire.)


    Trisha hesitated a little until she finally answered with a shaky voice


    Trisha: (A-alright I-I ...understand.)


    Lucien: (Remember, you have to cut off my hand. If you simply stab me the darkness might be able to heal it.)


    Trisha looked at me with a worried face. Then she prepared herself. I stretched out my arm waiting for her to strike. After 10 or so second''s she finally did it.


    With a SHUNK my hand was seen flying through the air. Pain hit me immediately but I controlled it. I then focused on the stub on my arm. At first nothing happened, the stub just simply bled until the darkness finally healed it. It was slow but my hand healed.


    (Hmm. It seems all an enchanted weapon could do is buy some time for my opponent.)


    I then looked at Trisha only to find her crying.


    Lucien: (What''s wrong Trisha?)


    Trisha: (It''s just *sniff* I hated the thought of hurting you *sniff*)


    Hearing this I smiled and said


    Lucien: (What are you talking about? You didn''t hurt me. See my hand''s all better.)


    She looked at me with tears in her eye''s


    Trisha: (I know ...but)


    Lucien: (If anything I should thank you since I now understand what I am a little more.)


    She continued to cry so I decided to show her how thankful I was. I kissed her. At first she was shocked but she soon started kissing me back and very passionately too. Then things started to get serious and we made our way to the master bedroom in our house. I was able to release some tension I had built up and at some point Wendy joined in. I ended up pleasuring them in a threesome all through the evening and night when they finally couldn''t take any more at dawn. It seems they passed out with pleased looks on their faces.


    (Today is the day the wizard comes.)


    According to the human''s minds they will come some time in the afternoon. So I got dressed in some black leather armor which was found in the dungeon and started making preparations. I made two groups go into the grass fields that surround the only road that comes into the village. 1 went on the left side while the other went to the right. I told them to stay a few dozen feet away from the road and meet each other on the road when we attack. This would entrap them and unless they could fly they will be caught. I then had the archers position themselves on the roof''s with a black blanket over them so they would blend with the roof and the other''s wait in the house''s.

    It was afternoon when Wendy and Trisha finally woke up. After explaining to them what''s going on they prepared themselves. After another hour their was still no sign of them. I started getting impatient


    (What I want is being hindered because some fool can''t be on time?!)


    I suddenly remembered a question I was going to ask Trisha


    Lucien: (Hey Trisha what was the enchantment on that sword?)


    Trisha: (Oh! Well you see ...I wasn''t really paying attention because the thought of hurting you was to much.)


    (Huuh!)


    I sighed out of annoyance when I heard this and summoned a blank human to try it on. She pierced through him and went


    Trisha: (OHH!)


    Lucien: (Well what is it?)


    Trisha: (This sword makes it easier to pierce and slice enemies. This makes it like your cutting through enemies like butter.)


    This is actually really helpful when fighting something with thick skin like that lizard-man we caught. So with my curiosity satisfied we continued to wait. It was almost evening when finally we saw a large group coming down the road. It wasn''t just a small group but a army. Their were soldiers and carriages that took up the whole road.


    (This makes me glad we started capturing creatures in the forest.)


    When they were almost to the village I ordered the attack. The archers on the roofs all fired and hit their target''s. This surprised them and not missing the opportunity everyone in the houses attacked. It soon turned into a war zone with people losing limbs. I saw a orc hit a soldier in the back of the head with a wooden club so hard that the soldiers eye''s popped right out of their socket''s. While a human child used a spear and stabbed someone in the heart. I used my copy''s to gain some soldiers quickly and had the tentacles and thin string rip through them and pull them into the darkness. Wendy was making people jump into the darkness with her


    powers. Trisha just cut through them and didn''t once stop moving. There were a few people with enchanted weapons that showed up. 1 burned you while another paralyzed you. But even though it slowed down the healing process my subjects didn''t die and the ones with these weapon''s were quickly overwhelmed.


    While arrows and magic rained through the sky one particular group on the enemies side made themselves known. Their was a loud explosion right in the middle of the battle field that captured everyone''s attention. What we saw was a group of 3 people surrounded by bits of my subjects which were now being healed.


    (I''m guessing one of these guy''s has the orb.)


    One was a man that seemed to lead the other''s. He seemed middle aged with brown grayish hair that was short and was wearing a robe with a pattern of circles and lines on it. The other was a woman that seemed young and had short aqua green hair. She looked week and had the same robe as the first man. The last was a giant man with a bald head that was covered in scares and was about 10 ft tall. He was wearing metal armor and had a huge sword. He looked very strong and threatening. Everyone backed away from this group except me and Trisha. The man in the robe attacked me while Trisha went for the Giant. The man used lightening magic to attack me. It hurt at first but I soon recovered. I then used my speed to close the gap but he summoned water that shot out of his hands like a bullet. It stopped me in my tracks but thanks to my improved strength I didn''t lose any ground. We were at a stale mate with him shooting a powerful stream of water at me and me guarding against it.


    Then suddenly the water stopped and I looked up to see a arrow in his arm. Not missing the opportunity I made a tentacle smash into his arm with enough force to break it. This sent him flying a few feet tell he fell on the ground. The girl with the aqua green hair rushed to his side and a light emitted from her hand''s. I then had the tentacle grab the men when I felt a surge of pain.


    (AAAAAH! What the fuck is this? It feels like the a part of me is on fire.)


    I then looked at the man and noticed the tentacle that surrounded him seemed to have gotten thinner and smaller. I focused on the tentacle and confirmed that it was the reason for the pain.


    (Is this his doing?)


    I then noticed that the part that wasn''t touching the light looked fine.


    (Wait this means it''s her.)


    I looked at the girl and immediately had a tentacle wrap around her. It hurt like a bitch but I forced the tentacle to drag her into the darkness.


    (I should figure out what the hell she is later, but for now let''s end this.)


    I dragged the man into the darkness but not before he fired off a few more spells which didn''t do much. I then looked at Trisha and the giant who now had no legs and one arm missing and I did the same with him. The soldiers around us started panicking and ran away. But they fell into the trap I made before their arrival. We quickly finished off the rest and everyone started celebrating while I on the other hand looked through the darkness looking for my prize. I soon found the power crystal and like I thought it was in that guy''s robe. I then held it in my hand and summoned Gerard.


    Gerard: (What is it Master Lucien?)


    Lucien: (How do I use the power crystal?)


    Gerard: (Well you must first pour your magical energy into it and it will tell you what kind of magic you got. To pour magical energy into it you have to focus on the crystal in your hand. Then it will unlock your magical energy. When you feel your magical energy push it into the crystal and it will tell you what power you excel at.)


    Hearing this I nodded and focused. When nothing happened for the first minute I focused harder and suddenly I felt something that was mixed with my blood. Thinking this was the magical energy I forced it into the crystal. The crystal lit up and a single word entered my head.


    CONSUMER

 Chapter 9 Time to leave

    Gerard pov


    I was waiting for master Lucien to find out what type of magic he was most powerful in.


    Lucien: (Consumer?)


    Gerard: (What did you say?)


    Lucien: (A word entered my head and it said consumer.)


    (WHAAAAAAAAAA?!)


    Lucien: (Is something wrong?)


    Gerard: (Consumer magic is supposed to be a ancient magic that disappeared over a thousand years ago. Not much is known about it but what''s certain is that you don''t simply have it. YOU TRAIN IN IT! Master Lucien i''m going to ask you a question and I want a answer.)


    Lucien: (Shoot.)


    Gerard: (Are you some type of God?)


    Lucien: (pfft ...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You know that''s a very good question. But since I''ve never met a god before well have to wait and see.)


    Hearing what was just heard I was trembling.


    (Is he saying he''s going to take on a god?! Well this is master Lucien were talking about who has the darkness and now consumer magic. He''s already god like.)


    Lucien: (Anyway how do I use magic.)

    I am currently enjoying some ale we found in the supplies of that army and partying with the troops.


    Trisha: (YEAH LET"S PARTY TILL WE DROP!)


    Crowd: (YEEEEEEAAAAAHHH!)


    As I started a drinking game with a few human''s and goblin''s I started remembering the giant I fought. Strength wise he beats me hands down. But I was faster than him and I had the sword my darling Lucien gave me. Though he did almost get me once I was surprisingly able to cut his sword in half. After this I then proceeded to cut off his limbs one by one.


    Orc A: (Winner ...Trisha.)


    Trisha: (ALRIGHT WHO''S NEX_)


    I then fell unconscious in a drunk stupor.

    (DAMMIT!)


    I was pissed. During the fight I was able to control 5 enemies at once but besides that I wasn''t able to do much of anything.


    (I need to get stronger!)


    I then took some blank human''s into a open space and tried strengthening my powers.

    (Well this sucks!)


    All I got from Gerard about my magic was some legends. There were only 3 people known to have this power. The first was a elf. Apparently he ate some animals and was able to take their shape''s. The most famous of his transformations was a young dragon. The next was a human who also ate different creatures. But instead of taking their forms he took their strength and speed. He became known as the strongest man alive. It is said that he also could turn into a giant over 50 ft tall. The last was a demon and he became the first demon king. Like the others he fed on different creatures. But he was able to take their traits and magic. If he consumed something with the toughest skin his skin would be just as hard without changing his appearance. He became a master at magic by eating human''s with magic and his own kind.


    (One thing these stories have in common is that they all ate stuff.)


    So I summoned a tiny cat creature that had arms and legs we found in the woods that was good at hiding it''s presence. I then kept the darkness from healing it as I ripped off it''s head. At first I was hesitant to eat bloody uncooked meat. But I forcibly choked it down and waited. At first nothing happened so I did some tricks other magicians use when using magic that effects their body''s, which I learned from Gerard.


    I soon felt stronger than before even though it was kind of a small improvement. To test it I went over to a house that was two stories tall and lifted it up. Before I could only lift a two story house full of stuff only 2 ft but this time I got it up to 3 ft. I also seemed to have grown an inch or two. After this I tested my speed and confirmed that I was a little faster than before.


    (It seems i''m following in the footsteps of the human.)


    Nodding to myself I then walked away. I then approached a blank to ask him if he''s seen Wendy and Trisha. However when I touched him he jumped in surprise.


    (S-sir what is it?)


    (This was odd. Usually my pawn''s can tell when i''m approaching thanks to the bad vibe that surrounds me.)


    After I found out that Wendy was training and Trisha was passed out drunk I thought


    (Did I take that cat''s traits?)


    I decided to test it out. Not only do the cat creatures hide their presence they are also agile and can grow claws. My theory proved correct when I was more agile and my finger nails grew 6 in and were as sharp as knives.


    (It seems i''m also following the demon king. ...Maybe I can do the elf''s trick.)


    I then began to imagine the cat creature. I concentrated on it so hard that I closed my eye''s. After a few minute''s of concentrating I opened my eye''s and everything looked bigger.


    (No ...wait ... I became smaller!)


    I looked at my body and it was the body of a cat creature.


    (Hmmm! I wonder if it was the same for those other 3.)

    After testing my power out a little more I noticed that the human''s path was easier than the other two. The difficulty for each path are

    Also ...ummm I ...didn''t really need to eat that cat creature. I found out that as long as I pull them into the darkness that counts as eating. I discovered this when a human kid wouldn''t stop complaining about how someone took a toy he had. When I felt my strength rise after dragging the kid in. I found I could also change to look like him. So after this I dragged everyone into the darkness and pulled them out. I felt my strength rise at a incredibly fast rate. I also grew about 27 ft which kind of startled me. Luckily I was able to return to my original height. I also found each of the path''s to be less difficult but still kind of a pain. I then practiced my magic and the magic I took from other''s well into the night.


    When I finished, the party quieted down so I picked up Trisha, who was still unconscious, and carried her to our house. There I found Wendy who was reading a book.


    Wendy: (Oh your finally back. ...What''s up with her?)


    Lucien: (She drank to much of the ale we took. Where have you been?)


    Wendy: (I was just strengthening my powers with the blank''s. ...Speaking of power''s father told me you unlocked your powers but he wouldn''t tell me what it is. ...Soooo what did you get? Come on ...tell me.)


    Lucien: (Consumer magic.)


    Wendy: (WHAAAAAAT?!)


    Lucien: (God your loud.)


    Wendy: (But-but father told me that it is powerful magic that was lost.)


    Lucien: (Well that''s what I got.)


    Wendy: (So what can it do?)


    I told her what my magic could do and she seemed amazed. Afterword''s I went to the bedroom and threw Trisha onto the bed. I then went outside and proceeded to offer the deal with the army we captured. One third made the cut while the rest became blank''s. The most noticeable among the one''s I erased was the guy in the robe. He refused to serve under the one that defeated him. However the other two in his little group were allowed to keep their personality''s. The girl was named Betsy and she was a healer.


    (Maybe healing magic is my weakness.)


    Anyway she spent her life studying healing magic because when she was young a friend of her''s bled out after protecting her from a wolf. If she had healing magic she would have saved them but that wasn''t the case. However she was just a mid-level healer. The highest was a cleric and I became a little worried.


    (If a mid-level could weaken the darkness. Than a cleric could probably do some serious damage.)


    So I tweaked her magic so she could summon darkness in a water like wave spreading it further. The giant was called Sal.


    (Darn I really wanted his name to be tiny so I could have a few giggles.)


    He was a 46 year old general. He joined the army to protect his home when a war broke out 30 years ago. At first he didn''t take the deal but after I said this would bring peace he agreed. I also learned some more about this world''s circumstances. Apparently there are tensions between the human, demon''s, and beast-men. The demi-humans which were the elves and dwarve''s got along with both the beast-men and human''s. The demon''s mostly stayed to themselves.


    Each race also had their own strength. The human''s had number''s, the beast-men had physical strength, while the demon''s were efficient in magic. The elves were great sniper''s and the dwarve''s made strong weapon''s.

    It''s morning now and I summoned my army to the road that leads out of the village.


    Lucien: (Everyone, it''s time to leave this place but we will split up here. Since we number around 500 now I will make groups of 5 consisting of 100 in each group and put someone in charge of each group. Your job is to go to any village or city and capture it.)


    In the first Group was Gerard and his animals. The next was a group of mostly blank human''s which I made Sal in-charge of. Then were the Goblins I started with and other''s we found in the forest. The one in charge was that goblin commander that I fought with in the cave because he was the strongest of them all. The fourth group consisted of mostly children that were both from the village and in those carriage''s that were with the army. They were the one''s that had magical power. In charge of them was the village''s teacher which was a middle aged man with gray hair and some muscle.


    (This might be the most successful group. I mean who would suspect kids to have enough power to destroy a village?)


    Finally was my group which had Wendy, Trisha, some giant spiders, that lizard-man, orcs, human''s, and Betsy who begged to be with my group. After all the groups were organized and ready I told the people leading each group that once their group reaches 200 cut the group in half and make someone the leader of the other group.


    Lucien: (ALRIGHT GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING!!)


    With that each group went their own way ready to spread the darkness.

 Chapter 10 On the road

    Lucien pov


    It''s been a few hours since we left the village. We ran across a few merchant caravan''s and did the usual. Capture, make a deal, continue walking. I was thinking about where we should go first.


    (Maybe I should take the human''s. ...No the battles in the bigger city''s would take to long. Plus we still have a few soldiers using wooden weapon''s. Maybe my top priority should be weapon''s. If it''s that then I should take the dwarves.)


    However their were still 2 problems. One is if we were to go to the mountain range the dwarve''s call home from where we are we would have to pass through elf territory. The elf''s are not only great with a bow but the giant forest they call home is their own back yard. Which would take some time to get through. The second is when we do reach the dwarven mountains apparently the cave''s in the mountains that the dwarve''s call home is the same as a giant maze.


    (Sighhh ...Well I could use a few more sniper''s and we really need better weapons than the toothpicks were using now.)


    Looking at the weapons anyone could tell they were very crappy. Even the metal weapons looked weak.


    (If this was a normal army they would have been decimated.)


    So having my mind made up I told the other group leaders using the darkness my plan''s and told them to go somewhere else. We walked for a while more and the other groups captured some people and creature''s. Even Sal''s group captured some people. Which was surprising since I expected Sal to stall for as long as possible. I offered the deal to the human''s and put all beings back into the group that captured them.


    The journey to the elven forest would take 4 day''s. Normally it would take a week and a half but since we never got tired we didn''t need to stop to rest. Most of the time Betsy would pester me with questions like


    Betsy: (Why did you change my magic?) or (What are you?) and (How come your eye''s always cry blood?)


    Apparently that last question had a deeper meaning to it. Her teacher, who was a cleric, told her that "one that cries blood has scar''s on their soul".


    (It''s kind of scary how spot on this person is.)


    Anyway to answer her questions and to shut her up I had her take the full force of my suffering saying


    Lucien: (This will answer those last 2 questions.)


    She screamed and rolled on the ground out of agony. When about ten minute''s passed she stopped screaming and was now panting heavily while asking a question.


    Betsy: (What the hell was that?)


    Lucien: (That was what I am and why I cry.)


    With that she finally shut up. The sun is setting now so I checked on the other group''s.


    Gerard''s group was in a forest consuming it. Gerard wanted to save as many creature''s as possible before the human''s got them. He quickly reached the 200 limit and made a group and chose a leader. I introduced myself to the leader when he was pulled into the darkness so he knew who was in-charge.


    Sal was headed to his home village where his family was. He wanted to quickly get his family and put them into the protection of the darkness. However I did remind him that I will erase them if they are guilty of a crime. But he was sure they would pass so I let him be.


    The goblin''s were trying to find a dungeon that a human adventurer told them about. They wanted more treasure I guessed. But they would get some strong creatures if they found a dungeon.


    The kid''s were outside a village. They planned to take it at the dead of night by playing as innocent children.

    (This sucks. I worked my whole life to be a healer only to run into a monster and have my power''s changed. But I wonder why he constantly cries blood. Teacher said that someone who cries blood has scar''s on their soul. But he never said anything about them constantly crying. Just what happened to him.)


    I continued to wonder about Lucien as we walked.

    Well it''s night now and we came across a village that was surrounded by a wooden wall. The guards on the wall threatened us to leave while aiming arrows at us. I responded by taking my giant form and destroyed the wall. Everyone attacked the village and since most of the town was asleep we took it in under an hour. We quickly reached the 200 mark with this attack. So I judged the human''s and made a group with a leader. I gave her my orders and continued my journey.


    We continued walking well into the next night. On the second night Wendy and Trisha couldn''t wait anymore and began to let their urge''s take hold of them. So I brought out our house onto the road and told my group to search the area for any creatures. Then when they left I went into the house with the girl''s and we continued with the pleasure until morning. They once again passed out so I just put them in the darkness, called everyone back and continued our little trip.


    Thanks to the pleasant distraction we lost some time so we picked it up a little.


    Betsy: (So what will happen when you finish your task to get rid of the human''s?)


    Lucien: (Why should I answer?)


    Betsy: (Because!! You changed my powers and expect me to follow order''s willingly. Not only that but you also turned my companion into a lifeless person. So I think I deserve some answer''s.)


    Lucien: (I''ll answer your question but only if you shut up for good.)


    Betsy: (Then I want 3 answer''s.)


    Lucien: (WHAT!!)


    Betsy: (I won''t settle for anything less.)


    Lucien: (You know you are very close to becoming you companion.)


    Betsy: (I don''t care i''ll keep pestering you until I get my answers.)


    Lucien: (Fine but you better ask good questions or you might regret missing the opportunity.)


    Betsy: (Why did you get rid of my healing power''s?)


    Lucien: (Because I gave you something better.)


    Betsy: (HOW IS THIS BETTER?)


    Lucien: (You''ve seen how the darkness heals wounds no matter how serious. Just think of it as spreading invincibility. Last Question.)


    Betsy: (...Dammit.)

    Betsy: (What happens after you achieve your objective?)


    Lucien: (I will finally be happy.)


    Betsy: (Huh?)


    Lucien: (Sorry but you already asked your questions.)

    We continued walking and at some point I brought out Trisha and Wendy. Not much happened after that. A caravan their a few creature''s here. Then finally we saw it in the distance. The forest the elves call home.

 Chapter 11 elven forest

    Lucien pov


    We are at the entrance to the forest and i''m starting to get worried. Not only were the tree''s as tall as the Eiffel Tower but there was a lot of fog that was so thick you couldn''t see a foot in front of you.


    Betsy: (Well how are we supposed to get through this?)


    Lucien: (I''m thinking about that.)


    (The only being''s that could navigate through this are the elves. But one doesn''t seem to be around.)

    Lucien: (Well I learned how to make fireballs rain from the sky thanks to that robed guy.)


    Betsy: (YOU LEARNED <FIRE STORM>?)


    To answer her question I summoned fireballs that started raining from the sky''s. It lit a few trees on fire.


    (This isn''t enough. It has to be bigger.)


    So I repeatedly cast <fire storm> on all the tree''s I could see. After the fire got really big a group of elves came out of the forest and they looked pissed.


    Elf A: (Is this your doing?)


    There were 5 males and 2 females. Each of them were really beautiful. But that beauty was ruined by the scowl''s they had on their face''s.


    Lucien: (Yes. This was all my doing.)


    This really ticked them off and they reacted by taking out their bows and shooting an arrow at me all at the same time. However thanks to my improved speed I easily dodged all 7 well aimed arrows and got behind them before they even noticed.


    Elf Group: (WHAAA...)


    They didn''t even fully turn around before they were mine. I punched a few of the men and used the steel wolves trait to make my hand like a sword which pierced through one of the girl''s gut. I tested out a few more traits on them before I finally made them loyal. I read their mind''s and found out the area in the forest. Their are 5 elf village''s, 10 army outposts, and 30 hunter posts. However thanks to the fire I started all the elves returned to their villages except for some scouts and wizard elves that came to check the fire.


    I discovered that the elves trait is that they can see enhance their vision to the point that they can see through the fog.


    (So this is how they navigate through the fog and why they are such great shot''s.)


    While using this trait I quickly found the wizards and the other scout''s. They resisted at first but after my subordinate''s ripped some of their limbs off they quickly stopped. I left that area letting the fire spread and headed towards the nearest elf village. When we reached the village we saw that the elves live in hollowed out trees. The guards noticed us and got into battle position.


    Elf guard A: (Who are you and how did you get here?)


    They noticed their comrades standing behind me.


    Elf guard B: (Why are you back so soon? What about the fire?)


    Lucien: (ATTACK!!)


    Because of the surprise attack the elves were unprepared so we got half before they started resisting. Of course it was a useless attempt. After some fighting and screaming with blood meeting the ground we quickly took over the village.


    Lucien: (Everyone you will take 2 of the villages and I will take the other 2.)


    Crowd: (SIR YES SIR!)


    Lucien: (Alrighty then.)


    Before I could leave I heard 3 people yell


    Girls: (WAAAAIIIIT!)

    I turned and saw Wendy, Trisha, and Betsy standing their.


    Wendy: (Where do you think your going.)


    Trisha: (Yeah take us with you.)


    (It seems they want to fight with me. But Betsy is a surprise.)


    Lucien: (Even you?)


    Betsy: (Of coarse, I mean out of all these people your the only one that can keep me unharmed.)


    Hearing this I turned giant and picked up Wendy, and Trisha leaving Betsy behind. It didn''t take long to reach the village. But when we got there, we attacked immediately. I put down Wendy and Trisha to let them do their thing and I covered my hand in darkness and had tentacles start cutting elves in half. I looked toward''s Wendy and saw that she was commanding 20 elves.


    (It seems she''s been working hard.)


    I then noticed Trisha going through elves at a incredible speed. To a normal person she would be a red blur. But I soon saw a wave of darkness hitting some elves. I turned and saw Betsy.


    Lucien: (HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET HERE?!)


    Betsy: (SINCE YOU DECIDED TO BE A ASS AND LEAVE ME I DECIDED TO GRAB ON TO YOUR LEG!)


    Lucien: (DAMMIT! ...YOU BETTER NOT BE A BURDEN!)


    And with that we continued our attack. Instead of a burden, Betsy proved to be a asset. She was able to envelope many in the darkness.


    (She''s really good considering she got her power''s not to long ago.)


    Some elves started to beg to be spared but we didn''t stop. Many elves shot arrows at us but they were useless against us. However some bows had enchantments on them which slowed us down a little. To pay back the assholes that did this I ripped off their arms and started beating them with it before they were consumed. During our little frenzy some elves managed to escape because we were busy with other matters.


    (DAMN! Were gonna have our hands full now.)


    Thanks to those elves escaping, our presence on this world will be noticed. Of coarse many have noticed the darkness we leave behind but they usually fall in or avoid it. Now they will know someone is responsible for it and send people.


    (Great now I need to make the groups bigger. I think i''ll make the limit 800 before it needs to be cut.)


    Having decided this we soon finished off the rest and I alerted the other groups. They all understood and my group of 4 headed to the next village. Because of those escaped elves I was so pissed that I took my giant form to the limit which is about 45 ft. I started crushing elves below my foot and once again we slaughtered all the elves but because I was pissed I decided to vent my suffering a little on the elves. Some had their spines removed, others I ripped open and took their heart''s, and a few I cut till they died of blood loss.


    We finished off this village a lot faster than the last so I checked the other group. They were still on their first village but they were winning. To speed thing''s along I sent the elves we captured to them. They finished the second village a hour later and were returning to us. Thanks to this we had 673 in our group.


    (Well, with the elves here this is much easier.)


    We spent the next few day''s training to see where everyone is skill wise and consumed some of the forest for creatures. When everyone was better at both melee combat and ranged combat we departed heading towards the dwarven mountains.
