"What the fu..."-??? As I looked around my surroundings I noticed that I am currently in a vast plain where there is fresh green grass that went on for miles and there were some hills around me, under the great expanse of the blue sky. ''What a minute.... who am I? How the hell did I get here anyway? Did I get kidnapped?'' Various thoughts rushed through my brain and I first tried to get things in order. ''Okay... First of all my name is Daniel... That is all I know. I''m from planet Earth and... and....'' Holy shit... I can''t remember anything! Is this a conspiracy from the government? Did I get captured by aliens? I looked down at my hands... "Why am I naked!!" I yelled out. ''Huh? My hands look smaller...'' I examined my body and saw that I shrunk. ''OMG! My dick got smaller! I definitely know that it wasn''t this small before!'' I needed to get a mirror or something to check myself. As I frantically looked around I saw a small black cube that was about 12 inches tall laying right beside me. Curious, I got up to it and touched it. The black cube disintegrated into dust and I nearly cussed out loud in surprise. There were a few items for me laying down where the black cube was. There was a note there also and I decided to read it. "Hello Daniel. I hope you are doing well. I am T, the admin that is assigned to look over you. As you can see these items are given to you to assist you along your journey in this world. I hope you are able to make good use of them. Good luck. - T" I looked at the items that were laid out in front of me. There was: 1 pair of clothes 1 pair of shoes 1 small booklet that said instruction manual 1 small knife 1 container filled with water And 1 silver ring that perfectly fit my small 10 year old finger. I first quickly put on the clothes and shoes. The shirt was plain white and the pants were loose cargo jeans and the boots were a perfect fit on my feet. The sun was still up so I opened the booklet and began reading. I needed to gain as much knowledge of this new world as fast as possible if I want to survive. Knowledge is power after all. ''Hmm... where did I hear that quote from? I don''t remember...'' I began reading the booklet: Hello Daniel, This instruction manual will help you learn the basics of this world. Hopefully you will be able to utilize this knowledge to your utmost capability in order to thrive in this new environment. etc. etc. You can think status in your mind or say it out loud in order to view your status. "Huh?" This book must be joking. "Status." I said. Suddenly a window popped out of nowhere. "H-holy shit!" I exclaimed. Name: Daniel Status: Normal Level: 0 HP: 10/10 STR: 5 INT: 5 AGI: 5 DEX: 5 LUK: 5 "Whoa..." I was stunned by the sudden appearance of my status. "Wait a minute! This is complete shit! What the bloody hell am I supposed to do with these crappy stats? At least make me OP for God''s sake!" I threw out a tantrum and raged for a while before I calmed down and began to read the manual again. Strength is obviously strength, Agility is speed, intelligence is how smart I am, Dexterity is how skillful I am with my body and LUK is basically my luck I guess. Then the manual went on to explain that I don''t receive EXP in this world, which I thought was pretty stupid. I gain levels by my actions and impressing my administrator. ''Fuck... so I basically have to impress some sadistic pedophile that likes to watch children survive by themselves in the wild.'' The booklet told me that I can increase my stats by doing certain actions such as running for a long period of time to increase my agility and etc. As I kept on reading I found out that there were monsters in this world and that they were apparently quite dangerous and I should watch out before attempting to engage in battle with them. It also told me that the silver ring that I was given is actually a storage ring where I can store my items. I thought that this was pretty neat so I used it to store my water and knife because I didn''t have a sheathe to put my knife in. As I finished reading the last part of the book about skills and how I could learn magic (This part really got me fired up.) I found out that I could learn skills by myself but that it is actually really difficult to do and the easiest way is to impress the admin and get a skill from them. I finished reading the last page of the booklet and suddenly a window popped up again. "Congratulations for finishing reading the instruction manual! You are the 3129th person to actually finish reading it! 7021 people have already died! For your efforts you have been given the skill [Identify]. Good luck on your journey!" P.S. This is the only freebie skill you will get so be grateful. -T I just blankly stared at the screen and couldn''t believe that so many people have died already. I decided to look at my skill from my status. Name: Daniel Status: Normal Level: 0 HP: 10/10 STR: 5 INT: 5 AGI: 5 DEX: 5 LUK: 5 Skills: [Identify] What the hell? It doesn''t give me a description on how to use my skills? Che... whatever. I''ll figure it out on my own. I said Identify! out loud and looked at the ground and it actually replied to my surprise... [ A normal blade of grass you retard... don''t use me for something so stupid.] Aww.. hell no! This bitch ass skill did not just talk trash to me! I basically cursed at it for a while before calming down. I decided to begin my travel in this new world. The sun was overhead and I was pretty sure that I had about 7 more hours of day light before the sun went down and so I took my first step on my journey. After about an hour of walking in the plains looking at nothing but grass I saw something jump. I cautiously went up to it and took out my knife. It was a light greenish little jelly thing that had no special features except that it looked similarly to one of those slimes in fantasy games. I used [Identify] on it. [Acid Slime: LV 2 This creature could be potentially dangerous] Hmm... I have two choices... A) Engage the weak looking slime in battle and potentially impress T and gain a reward or... B) walk away from this monster and keep on traveling. ===================================== So... I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. For the next update I will create the chapters like this: Chapter 2A and Chapter 2B. Each chapter will have a different outcome and you will get to choose which chapter you want to read. Of course you can read both chapters as well. Chapter 2B: Run from the Slime Chapter 2B: Run from the Slime Hmmm... the [Identify] skill told me that it could potentially be dangerous. I... don''t think that I should take the risk of attacking it. After all... I''m still new to this world and I think that I should be more cautious before making any rash decisions. I slowly backed away from the [Acid Slime] and continued my travels. After a few miles of walking in the plains where the grass seemed to be endless I came across another [Acid Slime Lv:1] Though this time as I was walking by I saw a blur and something dashed towards the slime. It was a small snake... probably about 2 feet long. It was striped with bright colors so you could clearly tell that it was poisonous. It opened it''s mouth and bit into the slime. Suddenly the snake''s head that was inside of the slime and close to the small sphere inside of it began to dissolve. The snake''s body writhed in pain as it''s head slowly disintegrated and died. I watched this event in horror at the thought of what could have possibly happened if I had attacked the slime and was grateful for my vigilance. I decided to move onward again. I came across a small bush that had small blue colored fruits that looked similar to blueberries. I saw small field mouse come up to the bush and it ate some of the fruit from the bush. I first used [Identify] on the small mouse. [Plains Mouse Lv:2] WTH! This small mouse is a higher level than me. No matter. It''s pretty small so it''s gotta have a low HP. Hell, I can probably one hit KO this thing. I took out my knife from my ring and I slowly got closer to the mouse. After I was about arms length away from the mouse it didn''t seem to care that I was approaching so I thought that it pretty stupid. I determined that I shouldn''t be able to miss from this range so I carefully aimed with my knife. Okay... ready in 1... 2... 3! I threw my knife directly at the small mouse that was eating the fruit from the bush. Suddenly the mouse moved. It must have sensed the knife coming from its instincts or something because it quickly got out of the way. But I was at least able to cut off its tail as my knife hit the ground with a thud. The small mouse squeaked in pain and it suddenly charged straight towards me. ''Huh?'' I thought it was amusing that a small mouse had such courage to face me but.... I underestimated it. It was able to quickly climb up my legs and it reached my shoulder. As I was able to reach for it it suddenly bit my ear. I cried out in pain as I saw a bright flash and my HP came out: 9/10 ''Shit!'' I panicked because if the mouse bit me 9 more times then I was most likely gonna die... Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. My poor attempts to catch the mouse were laughable. I missed 5 times and each of those times the mouse bit me and my health dwindled down to 4/10. In a last ditch effort I threw myself to the ground as the mouse was on my back and squashed it. The little mouse couldn''t move or breath as I was laying down on it and soon after a while I felt it stop squirming under me. I picked myself up and saw a dead mouse. A notification came up and told me that I killed the mouse. ''Hmph.. well no shit...'' ''That was too close for comfort... and what the hell? I killed something that was 2 levels higher than me... shouldn''t I get a level up or something?'' I put the dead mouse into my inventory and [Identifed] the plant. [A blue plant that seems edible. Might have side effects.] Well.... the mouse ate it... so there must not be anything that harmful. I was pretty hungry from all that walking and I didn''t have any fire to cook the mouse so I grabbed a handful of those fruits and shoved it into my mouth. ''Hey... these taste... pretty bland...'' I swallowed them and began to eat more. After about 4 more handfuls of eating those fruits I decided to store a lot into my inventory and basically picked all of the fruits growing from the small bush into my ring. With a sigh I got up and was about to begin walking again. Suddenly I got really dizzy when stood up and my vision got blurry. My body swayed and I fell to the ground. My eyes slowly closed... -------------------------- When I woke up I noticed that it was night time. "What the hell?" I looked around and saw that I was in the same place as before. Then I remembered that I ate those fruits. I used [Identify] on them again. [A small fruit that is edible and tastes bland. It has a sedating effect that makes the person that eats it fall asleep.] ''Holy shit!'' This [Identify] skill is soo fucking useless! Why couldn''t it tell me earlier! What if some predator came and killed me while I was knocked out? I was pissed and suddenly noticed that my HP was full again at 10/10. Well.. at least my HP is full again. Did it come from me falling asleep and resting? Sigh... whatever. I first need to find shelter first or some safe place to stay the night. With that I roamed the plains in search of shelter. ============================ OOpps. Sorry. I accidently posted this one first... it was an accident. Chapter 2A: Fight the Slime A/N So I decided to change a few things from the previous chapter. Instead of the MC having 50 hp I changed it to having 10/10. ========== Chapter 2A: Fight the Slime Heh. Look at this weak looking monster. If I remember correctly from some of the RPG games that I remember, (although I don''t remember ever playing them...)slimes are the weakest monsters. I''m obviously not going to miss a chance to level up. The [Acid Slime] has a light green color and is kinda like jello. It slowly moved like the way a snail would move except it was a bit faster. It''s entire body jiggled whenever it moved. The slime was about a foot tall and basically looked pretty unintimidating. It had a sort of see through body and I could barely make out some sort of circular object that was inside of it. The slime didn''t seem to notice my approach. I took out my knife from my inventory and cautiously advanced towards it. When I was arms length away from the monster I lashed out with my knife aiming for the spherical object that was inside of it. The knife went in easily enough and my hand was also able to enter into the slime''s body. My aim was off by a narrow margin and I missed the small green sphere in its body. Suddenly I felt an intense pain coming from my hand. "AaaHH!!" I cried out in pain. I saw that my health was slowly going down... 8/10... 7/10...6/10... Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. I watched in horror as my hand began to dissolve inside of the body of the slime. Even the metal of the knife began to chip away inside of it''s acidic body. I quickly pulled out my hand and fell down to the ground with a thud. I was gasping in pain as I was clutching my hand to my chest. The slime seemed to have noticed me and it inched closer and closer to my body. "N-No! S-Stay Away from me!" I cried out in horror. I hastily got back up and began to run away from the slime. "Oomf." I grunted as I felt something hit my head and I fell down to the ground again. I felt the similar searing pain of having my flesh being dissolved again from the back of my head. I realized that the slime was able to jump and it jumped onto me... I wailed in horror as I realized that I was going to die... My short life flashed through my eyes. The excruciating pain slowly became numb as I saw my health whittle away... 3/10.....2/10.....1/10......0/10..... =========================== Muahahaha! You fools! You have chosen this path and you have died! You cannot read this story anymore!!! (JKJKJKJK pls don''t stahp reading... T_T) Anyway this was my first time doing the different route/scenario thing and I think it went pretty well. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Don''t forget to read the other scenario! :) Chapter Three: Level Up Chapter Three: Luck I have been walking for about 2 hours now... I came across a lot of those bushes that had those blueberry type fruits that knock you out and put you to sleep. I decided to store a lot of them into my ring just in case for emergency situations where I was literally starving to death. So I figured that I would only eat these before I go to sleep. I don''t know how many things I can store into my ring... the manual never really told me.... the manual didn''t really tell me much... As I was slowly walking up the hill as my feet ached from literally walking all day... I hugged myself as the cold breeze swept through the plains. When I reached the top of the hill I saw a multitude of trees in the distance. "A forest!" I exclaimed. It was the middle of the night and I didn''t want to risk sleeping out in the open where dangerous predators could be waiting for me to let my guard down before killing me. Also I had the body of a 10 year old... which is my estimate, I could be wrong. Anyway, the point is that this body is incredibly weak so I first needed to find a safe place to rest. I am also running out of water. I drank half of the water in my bottle and I don''t see any water sources nearby so I couldn''t refill my water. I was hoping that in the forest I could find a water source and shelter there. "Hmm... seems to be about 3 miles away..." I hurriedly walked toward the forest. As I entered the sea of trees, there was a vast array of plant life that flourished in this forest. I came across many new types of plants but I didn''t consume any of them. I didn''t want a mishap like the previous one and left them alone. After walking for a short while there was a rustling noise in the bushes behind me. I quickly turned around and my body tensed up. I took out my knife and got into a defensive position. Suddenly a female deer popped out of the bushes and it pranced away to a nearby bush and began to eat some of the fruit that grew from it. It was round and red and about the size of a persons pinky toe. I used [Identify] [Deer Lv: 4] "Whew. I''m glad that it wasn''t anything dangerous." Suddenly and idea hit me. I took out a handful of the berries that I picked from the bushes in the plains from earlier before. I slowly approached and a twig snapped under me. I winced and the doe turned its head towards my direction. I continued to stare at it as the doe stared at me. I slowly bent down, making sure not to make any quick movements that could scare the deer and I left the berries in the grass next to a small pebble. Then I got back up slowly and walked backwards at a snails pace while facing the deer. I entered into the bushes that the deer came out of and hid there. The deer watched me the entire time as I went into the bushes and went out of sight. It slowly got closer to the berries that I left on the ground as if it were curious. It bent down and sniffed it. My heart was pounding as I hoped that my plan would be a success. The deer opened its mouth and began to eat the fruit. ''Yes!'' I cheered inwardly. Now... all I had to do was wait. Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.The deer completely at all of the small fruits in moments and went back to eat the red fruit on the other bush. After a short while it''s legs began to wobble as the fruits sedative effects kicked in. It fell to the ground with a thud and I knew that it was out cold. I came out of the bush covered in leaves and twigs and I went up to the sleeping deer. "Sigh... what a pity that I have to kill such a beautiful animal like you.... Your mother should have taught you to never trust strangers." I said as I looked down upon the doe. I took out my knife and I stabbed it straight down into it''s neck and took it out. I watched as the crimson blood poured out of its wound and it''s breathing became heavier and soon it died. Suddenly a window popped up in front of me. [Level Up!] Congratulations Daniel! You have leveled up! I have been watching you and saw your clever ways. I have decided to gift you these things. <6 Distributable stat points> <1 lottery ticket> <1 box of matches> ''Huh?'' A box of matches and a small golden slip of paper that said lottery on it appeared in front of me. I saw in disbelief at the window in front of me... ''This pervert.....'' I wondered what the lottery token was... whatever I''ll worry about it later. Luckily my ring was able to store the carcass of the dead deer. I needed to get out of here quickly. The scent of blood could draw carnivorous animals to me and I didn''t want that happening. I found a suitable tree and began climbing it... and fell... and climbed again.... and fell again.... This went on for quite a while and I''m pretty sure that I got bruises on my buttocks from falling so many times on it. As I settled myself as comfortably as I could on the tree branch I realized how tired and sleepy I was. But first I needed to figure out what this lottery ticket was. I took it out of my inventory and began to examine it. There were small words written on the bottom of it that said: rip to activate. I thought there was no harm to it and did as I was told. Another window popped up and asked me to choose between the [Wheel of Fortune] or the [Dice of Risk] What the hell? Of course I''m going for the wheel of fortune. Suddenly a wheel came out that was about 2 feet in diameter in front of me. There were 16 slots that were evenly spaced out. There were different categories that were placed on the wheel. There was: Nothing, Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Curse. 8 slots had nothing on it so that meant that I had 50% chance of getting nothing... what the hell... There were 3 curse slots also, there was minor curse, intermediate curse and major curse. I was hoping that I didn''t get any of those either. So now there was 5 slots left... and there was 2 commons, 1 rare and 1 epic. This is sooo unfair I thought. But whatever. I spun the wheel of fortune and hoped for the best. The wheel began to slow down and landed upon... ============================ Hope you enjoyed the chapter. The next chapter will give you the opportunity to make a choice. Chapter Four: Fight Chapter Four: Fight The wheel steadily slowed down and my heart started thumping as it was about to stop on the Rare slot. But to my horror the wheel actually didn''t stop moving and it landed on the Minor Curse slot. The wheel disappeared in a bright flash of light. Suddenly a window popped up in front of me. [ You have been afflicted with a [Half Blind] You will lose sight in one of your eyes.] ''W-what the fuck!!! What kind of situation is this!'' Suddenly I felt a searing pain in my right eye and I actually fell of the tree branch. "Oomf!" I fell to the ground and I saw 2 HP go down in a flash and I was holding my right eye in pain. The pain eventually subsided and I saw that I could no longer see from my right eye. "THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!" I yelled out in anger. What kind of fucking wheel of fortune was that shit! I basically lost an eye! In a fit of rage I ran off deeper into the forest not caring for the consequences. "Ha... ha..." I was gasping for air. I lost track of time as I was running in the forest. Exhaustion hit me like a semi-truck and I fell to the ground. Whew... I calmed down now and I realized that I foolishly rushed deeper into the forest. I heard a rustling noise in the plant life behind me. ''Shit!'' I quickly got and and took out my knife and got into a defensive stance. A creature came out of the bushes behind me. I used [Identify] on it. [Kobold Lv: 5] It was a disgusting monster that was about 4 and 1/2 feet tall. It sort of had a dog like face with a humanoid body. It was wearing dirty rags and held a short spear that was poorly made. I cursed myself for being so foolish and running off into the forest in a fit of anger. Luckily there was only one and it looked skinny... malnourished. I could see it''s ribs poking out of its sides. The kobold let out a some sort of battle cry as it charged towards me with its spear pointing in my direction. I quickly dove to the side and rolled on the ground and stood back up. It didn''t work as well as I hoped it would. There were some sharp rocks on the ground that stabbed into my back and it hurt and I saw that my HP went down. 7/10 I was at a disadvantage here. The kobold has a longer reach and I am blind in my right eye. I can''t let this fight drag on or I will lose my life. Suddenly I remembered that I had unused stat points that I could use to make myself stronger. I chastised myself for forgetting such a crucial element to this world and quickly opened my status. Meanwhile the kobold was currently snarling at me and I could see its sharp teeth in the dark forest. We were currently circling each other as it was wary because I was able to dodge its first attack. Name: Daniel Status: Hurt/In battle Level: 1 HP: 10/10 STR: 5 INT: 5 AGI: 5 DEX: 5 LUK: 5 Skills: [Identify] Unallocated Stat Points: 6 As I was looking at my status and was delighted to find my level rose and saw new stat points, the kobold suddenly rushed towards me again in an attempt to kill me. I was stupid and accidentally took my eyes off my opponent in front of me to look at my status and I paid for it. The kobold was able to cut my right shoulder due to my mistake and I cried out in pain as my HP dropped to 5/10. I quickly moved backwards and made sure not to take my eyes off of it. I clenched my shoulder and could feel the warm blood coming out. I inwardly thought to myself ''Shit, shit shit.... Put all points into agility!'' Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Suddenly I felt as if my body got lighter. The kobold charged me again and I felt that it was definitely slower this time. I was clearly able to see its movements. I easily dodged its stab and got in close to its body and drove my knife straight into it''s neck. The kobold was stunned and its eyes looked at me in disbelief as it was choking on its blood. Within moments the kobold fell and died and another window popped up saying that I leveled up. [Level up] For courageously killing an opponent that was a higher level than you, you are given these gifts. <7 Distributable Stat Points> <1 Lottery Ticket> I took the lottery ticket and put it into my inventory and thought to myself. ''Hmph. Like hell I''m gonna use that lottery again. I''m not stupid.'' I noticed to my surprise that my HP went all the way back to full health and I saw that my wounds were all gone. ''Hmm.. I guess that I get healed whenever I level up.'' I took the poorly crafted spear from the hands of the dead monster and left the scene. When I was a good distance away I drank some water under a tree. "Great... now I''m all out of water. Well.. I''m too tired now. The first thing I''ll do tomorrow is look for a water source." I said to myself. I climbed the tree much easier than before to my pleasant surprise. ''It must be due to my increased agility.'' I thought to myself. I quickly fell asleep and woke up the next morning. I was extremely tired and hungry as I woke up from the tree branch. I didn''t get enough sleep and I haven''t eaten at all except for those blue fruits yesterday. I climbed back down to the ground and I decided to explore the forest in search of a water source. But first I needed to distribute my unallocated stat points. Name: Daniel Status: Normal Level: 2 HP: 10/10 STR: 5 INT: 5 AGI: 11 DEX: 5 LUK: 5 Skills: [Identify] Unallocated Stat Points: 7 My sudden increase in agility last night definitely helped me a lot in yesterdays battle. But my low HP is definitely a problem. I wonder what happens when I put in a single point into HP? I distributed 1 stat point into my HP and saw that it rose to 15/15. I was hoping for it to go up to 20 but oh well... I had 6 stat points left and I decided to put in 3 in agility and 3 in strength. I thought that agility could definitely help me when I''m running away from stronger monsters. With that I began my search for some water. After about 2 hours of searching I finally came upon a small clear stream and I let out a small cry of happiness. I quickly knelt down on my knees and drank from the stream to quench my thirst and fill my water bottle with the water. "KYAA!!" I heard a scream in the distance. ''It''s definitely a human girl. I should go check it out. It will be my first contact with another person in this world... hopefully I can get some information.'' I quickly rushed toward where the scream was. With my new agility I was definitely faster than before and I felt great while feeling the wind blowing through me while I ran. I heard multiple cackles of laughter and I hid behind a tree. I peeked and saw that there were 5 kobolds that surrounded a girl that looked to be about 10 years old and she was holding a small knife with her childish hands and was trembling in fright. ''Oh shit... she''s screwed.'' I have 2 choices... A) Ignore her and run away... or B) Rush in and save her.... What do I do? ====================== Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Chapter 5A: Leave the girl. Chapter 5A: Leave the girl. As I was peering my head over from behind the tree I used [Identify] on the kobolds.. [Kobold Lv: 10] [Kobold Lv: 8] and there was 1 level 7 and 2 level 6 kobolds and a [Rachel Lv: 1] ''Hah... she''s definitely fucked... I could probably die from saving her.... I won''t risk it....'' The girl looked over and our eyes locked for the shortest of moments... she saw me... Her eyes went wide open and she screamed out, " Help me please!" All of the kobolds turned their heads toward my direction. I quickly hid behind the tree again and she began cursing at me. "You fucking cunt! You are such a pussy! Come and fucking help me!" The kobolds were surprised at the sudden outburst from her but they ignored it and they closed in on her. I figured that this was a good time to escape and I silently made my way towards the opposite direction of this location. "Kekake" I heard something laugh and I turned around. To my horror I saw small little green men with pointy ears that were holding crappy looking makeshift weapons. I bolted away as fast as I could right back to the direction where the kobolds were. When I came back I saw that the kobolds were already feasting upon the carcass of Rachel. The kobolds saw my arrival and they looked happy that they had another prey to feast on but their expressions quickly changed as they saw the arrival of the goblins. It was 3 goblins vs 5 kobolds and me. They were just trying to intimidate each other for a while with snarls and growls and brandishing their weapons and I kind of got tired of it. So I threw my spear at the nearest kobold and I was somehow able to luckily get it into it''s chest and it fell over and died. This text was taken from Royal Road. I took out my crappy spear from the dead kobold and I watched the battle between the two species. I found a goblin that was being hardpressed by 2 kobolds and decided to help it out. I got my spear and got behind one of the kobolds and stabbed in its back and when it fell to the ground I repeatedly stabbed it and it died. The battle kept on going and I was in the midst of it. My HP slowly went down.. 10/15....8/15.....7/15.... My breathing was getting heavier and my body more sluggish. Now it was only 3 of us left. 1 goblin and 1 kobold and me. I was only able to kill one other goblin. Those two were so focused on their own fight that they didn''t notice that their comrades were all dead. They were both gasping for air and their eyes were locked onto each other. I got behind the kobold and stabbed it with my knife into its ribs and I grabbed hold of its body and pushed it towards the goblin. The goblin didn''t expect this to happen and it retreated backwards. It''s guard was down and I took this moment to stab its chest with my spear and it fell down and closed its eyes as it had its last breath. I fell to the ground and just lay there thinking about what happened. I noticed 3 windows popped up saying that I leveled up 3 times during this battle. My body was drained of energy. I probably rested there for about half an hour before I got up and stored the crappy weapons of the monsters and made my way back to the stream. ==================================== Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Chapter 5B: Save the girl Chapter 5B: Save the girl Without a second thought I firmly held my crappy spear in my right hand and my knife in my left and I boldly charged at the kobold that was nearest to me. I brought up my spear and thrust it towards the kobold at the base of it''s neck. I felt some resistance from it but I managed keep on pushing my spear into its neck and it eventually came through the other side. The dead kobold fell down and the others looked at my direction and were stunned. I took this chance to charge to another kobold and I aimed for it''s neck with my knife. I don''t know if it was luck or clumsiness but because of its fear the kobold stepped backwards and I missed its neck and my knife plunged into it''s right eye. "Run away!" I yelled at the frightened young girl. The kobold screamed in pain in some sort of unintelligible language and fell to the ground writhing in pain while clutching its bleeding eye. *Slam!* I felt a blunt object hit me on my right side where I was blind and I was thrown to the ground about 2 feet away. My HP went down to 11/15 and I definitely felt some ribs cracking from the blow. I looked up at my assailant and saw [Kobold Lv: 10] [Kobold Lv: 7] [Kobold Lv: 6] and a[Kobold Lv: 6] who was the still on the ground holding its eye, and [Rachel Lv: 1] as the girl''s back was towards me as she heeded my order and was running off into the forest. I was able to painfully get up before the level 10 kobold smashed its club down towards me and I was able to narrowly dodge its attack. I rolled to the side and I could feel the pain in my ribs... yup definitely cracked... or broken... I reached the kobold that was still on the ground and took my knife out of its eye and it cried out in pain again. I swiftly stabbed its neck and put it out of its misery. The highest level kobold, who I assumed was the leader of its group let out a howl and said something in their language and the others began to charge me with their weapons in hand. So I did the only thing that could possibly guarantee my survival. I ran. I was hoping that with my increased agility I would be able to outrun these monsters. I coincidentally ran in the same direction that Rachel went in and I was hoping that she was far enough and had the sense to hide and that I didn''t run into her. I could hear snarls and growls behind me as the kobolds chased after me. As I entered into a small clearing in the forest with adrenaline pumping through my veins I halted in my tracks with disbelief on my face as I saw Rachel falling down to the ground dead with blood pouring out of her stomach and 3 small, ugly green monsters that had crappy looking wooden spears with them. [Goblin Lv: 8] [Goblin Lv: 7] and [Goblin Lv: 6] The kobolds finally caught up with me and circled behind me. They also looked surprised at the sudden appearance of the goblins and they looked at them with hostility and the goblins hissed at them while showing their hideous brown teeth. ''So... they must be hostile to each other... I have to turn this situation into my advantage...'' I quickly dashed away from where I was between the two groups and began to run away from them. Both groups actually ignored me. They were instead focused on the dead body of Rachel. They tried to intimidate each other and brandished their weapons. But they both refused to back down as they both wanted to eat the flesh of the dead girl. It was inevitable for them to engage in battle and I watched as both groups fought each other to the death. I felt really pissed off at my wasted efforts of trying to save this girl and it failed because of those goblins... I picked up a nearby stone that weight about 5 pounds and slowly got closer and closer to the fighting group. A kobold tripped and fell to the ground. As the goblin rushed in for the kill I grunted and threw the rock straight at the face of the goblin. I could see the teeth and blood come out of the goblin as it fell to the ground and I ran towards the fallen kobold and stabbed my knife in its neck quickly took it out and killed the goblin that I threw the rock at. I watched as a goblin killed a kobold and went to help his comrade. The single kobold was locked in a unfair deadly battle against 2 goblins. I grabbed the spear of the goblin that I killed and waited for my chance. The battle was nearing its end as the kobold was able to kill the weaker level 6 goblin and it was now a 1 vs 1. But the kobold was covered in many wounds and was breathing heavily. The goblin didn''t look much better either and I knew that this was my chance. I threw my spear at the goblin and it hit it pierced its back. It let out a guttural cry in pain and it feel down. The kobold was shocked that it''s opponent suddenly died and didn''t know what to do. I took this opportunity and ran towards it and stabbed it with my knife, plunging it straight into its heart and it died. The goblin was moaning in pain on the ground and I finished it off with a quick cut to the throat. It''s finally over... I was mentally and physically exhausted. Before I walked back to the small stream that I came across earlier I first stored all of the crappy weapons from the monsters and went on my way. I finally noticed the windows that popped up that I ignored... [Level up] [Level up] [Level up] ====================================== Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Chapter Six: Get lucky I took my time walking back to the small stream from earlier. My stomach made a loud noise and I realized that I was starving. I began to pick small dead branches and put them into my inventory. I looked at the window again and saw that I gained some stuff from my 3 level ups. <2 Lottery tickets> <17 Stat points> <1 silver coin> I arrived at the stream and took out the wood and a single match from my ring. While I started that fire I began to think about a few things. ''Seriously... the distribution of stat points is really random. I expected it to be 5 each level or something but I guess not.'' And... what the hell am I going to use a silver coin for? I need food!! As the fire got hotter I took out the dead carcass of the deer. Skinning took a really long time and I did a pretty sloppy job out of it. I made the decision on how to spend my points during this time. I opened up my status and put in 10 points in Luck, 3 in agility, and 2 in strength and 1 in HP. Name: Daniel Status: Normal Level: 5 HP: 20/20 STR: 10 INT: 5 AGI: 17 DEX: 5 LUK: 15 Skills: [Identify] After I finally finished carving out a piece of leg meat and put in on top of fire to cook I took out the lottery ticket and ripped it. A window popped up and asked me if I wanted to choose between the wheel of fortune and the dice of death. I decided to take my chance and go with the wheel of fortune again. Another window popped up and asked me if I wanted to sacrifice the 2 lottery tokens in my possession for a better chance of getting a higher reward. ''Oh hell yes!'' My 2 tokens disappeared and the big wheel appeared in front of me. The wheel looked the same except this time there were 2 extra "rare" slots and 2 lesser "nothing" slots. I spun the wheel and my heart began to beat faster. It stopped on a rare slot. "Yes!!" I was so happy that it didn''t land on a curse this time and that it didn''t fuck me over. "Congratulations on winning the Wheel of Fortune! Your prize shall be sent to you momentarily." A sweet feminine voice appeared out of nowhere and abruptly went away after saying this message. Suddenly a black box appeared and I opened it. It was bow and with a quiver. It had beautiful intricate designs and markings and I could feel the magic power emanating from it. When I used [Identify] on it an actually detailed summary came out which actually surprised me. [Bow of Tyr] A magical bow used by the legendary hero Tyr. The quiver magically creates an unlimited amount of arrows for the user. The bow helps to increase accuracy of the user. Requirements: Must have 20 Strength and 15 Dexterity. Wow... this weapon is pretty OP.... but I can''t use it at all! If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. I reluctantly put the bow away into my inventory and began to cook the meat. *bite* "mmm.....This is sooo delicious." I guess its true that hunger is the best spice. The meat tasted so good. After finishing about 3 pounds of meat all by myself I drank some water from the stream and decided to explore the forest some more. An idea came through my mind and you could literally see a light bulb flash on top of my head. ''Wait... if I can get unlimited arrows then.... could I?....'' I took out the quiver and began to take out arrows one by one.... "Whew... I''ve been at this for a whole hour. I''ve lost count of how many arrows I''ve taken out. Must be in the thousands range." Since I can''t use my bow yet I have to find another way to attack. So I decided to practice throwing arrows. And because I practically have an infinite amount of arrows then I can practice as much as I want. I took hold of an arrow with my hand and threw it at a tree. The results were... disappointing to say the least. The arrow just bounced off the tree and couldn''t even pierce the bark. ''Sigh... looks like I have a long way to go...'' And so I trained my throwing skills the entire day and I gradually improved. By the time nightfall came I realized that I was so immersed in training that I forgot to explore the forest some more and my hands were both covered in small cuts from the arrows because of the numerous times that I made mistakes while throwing them. I started a fire and cooked some meat. After the meal I climbed up a tree and I shortly went off to sleep. The next day I woke up and forgot that I was in a tree and fell off from the branch. I fell on my back and got a whopping -8 damage and hurt myself real bad. I painfully made breakfast and ate some more of that deer meat and to my surprise I found out that if I eat food my HP restores faster. Today I decided to practice my throwing skills some more and improve my accuracy this time. I also noticed that the small cuts from yesterday were all gone and there weren''t even any scars. I made multiple small circles on different trees and made them my targets. I practiced throwing until noon and I could see small improvements. I''m assuming that my accuracy is about 40%. I was tired of training and so I chose to explore the forest today. I made sure while exploring that I didn''t steer to far from the stream. I found some more of the red fruit that the deer was eating and stored them and ate some of those. They didn''t seem to have any negative effects and they tasted pretty sweet also. My main goal is to first level up and get stronger so that I can use my new bow and then when I get proficient with it I will leave this forest and explore this world. ==================================== Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
