《Forgotten Memories》


 The danger

    My first story "EVAR!!!".Please,if anyone finds this, point out any mistakes you find.I was thinking about this story for some time and i think it may please someone out there =D .Thank you for reading!!

    The cold was unbearable that night.Gushing winds howling were the only sound.Laying in a tree there was a man,waiting for his prey.His presence was unnoticeable,his breathing was soundless.


    The man heard some sounds,and immediately took his dagger out.


    Suddenly  a creature appeared,it was a Chacreta,a lesser vampire,about 2 meters tall with giant fangs and claws.


    A horrendous creature without hair in its body, and it wasn''t bothered by the freezing cold. In its right superior limb it was carrying a man, his last prey.The creature put the man on the ground and freed him of his spell,the Chacreta are know for taking pleasure in eating its prey alive and watch the terror.


    The victim awoke  and was terrified.


    [Man]"Wha...wha.. AHHHHHHH,SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!"


    When the monster was about to tear the man,limb by limb,and drink his blood, a tip of a blade appeared between the eyes of the monster.


    The Chacreta stopped moving and fell on the ground.


    Behind the corpse of the Chacreta was a man, about 1,90 meters,with short black hair and a with vertical scar passing by his right eye .He was in a white light armour and had a huge sword in his back.


    The victim was puzzled.


    [Victim]"Wh..wha...what happened??Who are you?!?" Said him in a fearful tone.


    [Man]"You''re welcome" Said the man in a scorning manner.


    [Bozor]"M..my hum..humbles  apologies,sir.My name is Bozor,a merchant that came from the town of Lavingale.Thank you for saving me." Said the clearly terrified man


    [Man]"It was no big deal,i was paid to kill the beast anyway."Said the man in a calm manner.


    [Bozor]"You saved my life,it is a big deal...May i have the privilege of knowing you name?"


    [Drake]"My name is Drake,i''m a hunter that lives in a village nearby...but enough of this chit chat Chacreta are know for having hunting partners.Let¡äs leave."


    [Bozor]"By all means,then.And if,by any chance, you could escort me to the Brangi city,i would be forever grateful "


    [Drake]"Fine,i was going there anyway."


    The trip to the Bragi city was a peaceful one,rarely one monster would appear and if it did,it would be scared off by the huge aura Drake transmitted.


    The merchant explained he was  going to his cart to pick a product for demonstration in the inn he was staying,when he was charmed by a voice that was calling him,he said the voice was irresistible and when he was lured to the outside of the village he blacked out and awoke in that situation.


    Drake explained that was normal.Chacreta are magical creatures and like to play with their prey.They rarely would lower themselves to physically pick their preys.Their huge claws,fangs and power were to battle other monsters.


    During the trip the merchant asked how Drake killed the creature. He was puzzled because the monster was seemingly without a wound and it died very quickly,no normal Hunter would be capable of that.


    Drake thought that even if he explained thoroughly Bozor wouldn''t understand.So he gave a vague response by saying he waited the monster to lower its guard and  stabbed it  in the back of the head with his dagger .


    He was surprised,''cause he saw Drake was carrying a huge sword in his back.He didn''t thought Drake would use such a  stelf  way of killing .Clearly Drake was a person with a lot of secrets.


    The merchant  decided to drop the subject to avoid problems.


    Soon they reached the village and parted ways.


    The merchant said that he was forever grateful for everything and besides the purse of coin he handed Drake,he gave him a card that was embedded with magic.He said that the card was a free pass to the city of Lavingale,and if he was in need of something,Drake would only need to go to his shop in the market district and he would assist Drake to the best of his ability.

    As his escort mission was over,Drake headed to the Adventurer guild to receive his prize for killing the Chacreta.As soon as he entered the building,he went directly to the balcony.


    The clerk was rejoiced when he saw Drake.


    [Terse]"Ohhh,Drake!!Killed that Chacreta already?"Said in a joyful tone.


    [Drake]"Yeah,It was alone so it didn''t took much time.I would be here sooner,but its last prey was alive and i escorted the man here."Said in a indifferent tone.


    [Terse]"Impressive as always,by the way what was the man''s name?"


    [Drake]"Bozor.He said he was a merchant."


    [Terse]"Bozor..Bozor... Ah! I know that name,he''s a up and coming merchant in Lavingale.One day he may become a great figure in the South!You gained a great ally!

    [Drake]"That may be,but my focus is gaining power for protecting my familie and giving them a comfortable life,because money,in the North,doesn''t mean much."Said Drake with a focused expression.


    [Terse]"That is true... Do you have the proof of the hunt?"


    [Drake]"Right here."


    Drake pulled a flask with blood in it and handed to the clerk.The clerk put the vial in a machine that was by his side.


    The machine, quickly analysed the blood and said out loud:


    [Machine]"Blood of a male Chacreta.


    Age: 146 years.


    Power level: 54


    Reward estimated: 278 silver coins."


    [Terse]"Great catch,Drake.This Chacreta was quite strong,being a C level vampire monster and all.If it was another person,maybe he or she wouldn''t have come back."Said the man in boasting tone.


    But in question of seconds Terse showed a preoccupied expression.


    [Drake]"Yeah,that means the creatures of the forest are more active.That may be ''cause of the dispute for territory of the some high level monsters in the area,because of that more creatures may appear.Tell the others to be careful...Farewell"Said him in preoccupied tone


    [Terse]"I will and safe travel to you,my friend"

    With that,Drake went on his way to the Trae village,where he,his wife,son and daughter lived.It was a small village but with great tradition in the area,as soon as the kids were 8,they were allowed to venture off the village and if they could survive one day and one night in the forest and kill 2 monsters,they would be rewarded by being able to receive lessons from the village elders.


    That was a great honor for the kids and the parents,being that the elders were the protectors of the village,and protecting a village in the North was a great challenge.The North of the continent Asgar is a place where dangerous creatures are as abundant as snown.Besides the monsters,the weather is extreme.The temperature go as low as -75 degrees Celsius and  blizzards are regular.


    Drake was coming home with a preoccupied expression,because his son Lance  would turn 8 next year and the wilderness was dangerous right now and may continue to be for a long time,because this disputes between greater monster usually are long and can continue for years.Of course the kids of that age are not forced to do the challenge,you would only  be forced if you were 15 and didn''t tried to complete the ritual.


    But he knew his son. Lance for sure would try to complete the ritual and enter the road to become a warrior.....


    Drake arrived at his house about 20 minutes later and was greeted by his wife, Sylvia, with a kiss.


    Sylvia is a woman with long blond tied hair and purple eyes.A beauty in the eyes of many.


    [Sylvia]"Welcome home,dear.The kids were impatiently waiting for you.. fufufu"


    [Dran]"Hahaha,that''s nice to hear.How was your da.."


    Just when he was to complete his sentence two kids jumped on him,one was a girl with black hair and grey eyes.She is his daughter Sophie,and the boy with blond hair and purple eyes is his son Lance.


    [Sophie]"Daddy,play with me!!!"


    Sophie was just 4 this year,and like a normal child wanted  to play with her father all the time


    [Drake]"Not now,honey.I need to talk to your mother,okay?"Said him in a caring way


    [Sophie]"Okay..."


    She was sad,but wasn''t spoiled.Sophie understood her father would later come to play with her,but right now he was busy.


    [Drake]"Lance,wait in the kitchen.I will later tend to you."


    [Lance]"Yes,father"


    Lance was smart kid,learned everything with ease,and by his father serious face,he


    immediately understood something was wrong.


    [Sylvia]"What''s going on,Drake?"Said her in a tense tone


    [Drake]"There is a dispute going on in the wilderness."Drake cut to the chase


    [Sylvia]"Oh my god! I have suspected as much. 3 people came here looking for treatment"


    Sylvia was a healer,a mage with medic knowledge,she was able to combine the two for a better medical treatment.


    [Drake]"Yeah,and Lance will have his ritual next year."


    Sylvia heart froze,her children where everything for her.


    [Sylvia]"We can¡ät let him go there!"


    [Drake]"You know our son,even if we prohibited him,he would go anyway.So i have a plan,he is young,but i''m going to start his training in my family assassination arts,with that plus, hunter knowledge,warrior training and magic training,he will have great chances of survival ."


    Drake family name is Tacet,his family clan is famous for its assassins.


    [Drake]"He will be fine,since he started showing interest in combat, i would make him train in some basic combat technics  and he learned them with ease!He''s my son after all hahahaha."Said him with a proud tone.


    [Sylvia]"Yes,we will do that.I will do his magic affinity test today and begin the training tomorrow."


    Sylvia was so worried that ignored Drake boasting.

 The Test

    Hey,what¡¯s up?I read my first chap and it did¡¯t convey my real image of the story(Probably because I never wrote in my life),but I will try to get better, so please,help me pointing out any mistakes I make.Being that grammatical or not giving the right feeling for the chars.Thank you!!


    Heads up 1: If it is in italic,is a thought


    Lance was patiently waiting in the kitchen, but cautiously thinking about what would make his father become worried like that. For Lance, his father, Drake, was the best! He is the strongest Hunter of the village, without counting in the Elders.


    He was in deep thought about what would make that type of man, like his father, to not play with his daughter, that is so precious to him.


    Then a thought struck his head.


    [Lance]:¡±Maybe it is related to the people that came looking for healing from Mother¡­¡±


    But even being a bright kid, he couldn¡¯t analyze all the circumstances. The North Is a dangerous place, because of the creatures and the weather, but there is another danger and that¡¯s the people that live there.


    Elves, Humans, Dwarfs and others sub-races, like the Beastmen would be  found on the North. With that much  variety is obvious that would appear conflicts. Besides the inter-racial conflicts, there is intra-racial disputes. That¡¯s the dispute for the control of the villages, and that has a motive and it¡¯s not power.Being a place that has monsters everywhere it would be impossible to defend a territory with men power alone. It would take far to many people for that.


    But there¡¯s a simpler way of defending a territory¡­ That¡¯s the use of magical barriers to stop the advance of monsters. This is the cause of 90% of inter or intra racial disputes in the area. People are looking for these places with great magical essence to form a magical barrier and to be protected.


    It is unfortunate, but these places with great magical essence are rare, and because of that, a lot of blood spilling comes from disputes.


    Of course, there is beings that can destroy the magical barriers, but these types of creature don¡¯t usually come out of the wilderness.


    With all these circumstances, Lance, couldn¡¯t make out what was really going on.


    After 10 minutes or so Drake an Sylvia entered the Kitchen.


    Drake spoke out and explained what was going in the wilderness for his son, with a serious expression.


    Then, pointed out with even more serious  face:


    [Drake]:¡±Lance,with all that said. Do you still want to participate in the ritual?¡±


    Lance quickly replied:


    [Lance]:¡±Of course!¡±


    Lance was a smart kid, he understood what his father told him, he was afraid, but he still was a kid! And had his father like a idol. Being the son of Drake Tacet, people expected great deeds from him. He wasn¡¯t worried about those people, but he wanted to become strong to make his father proud of him.


    With a small smile on his face Drake said:


    [Drake]:¡±Then it is time to start your training¡±


    Sylvia was with a preoccupied expression all the time, because her baby was putting himself at risk.


    [Sylvia]¡±Honey,it is no problem if you don¡¯t want to go anymore,okay? Mommy and Daddy will understand.¡±


    Lance said with a resolute expression:


    [Lance]:¡±I know, mom. But I will go anyway.¡±


    [Sylvia]¡±Okay, sweetheart¡­ Anyway, let¡¯s start your magical affinity test¡±


    [Lance]:¡±Yes,please!¡±


    There are 5 basic elements in the universe, that are: Earth, Water, Fire, Lighting and Wind.


    Don¡¯t be fooled¡­ magic is way more complex than that. Magic can be used from moving vehicles and opening portals to read and dominate minds.


    This test consists of the most basic type: A rock would be embedded with magic and be put in the hand of the tested.The corresponding possible results of these:


    The rock raises its temperature= Fire affinity


    The rock gets heavy= Earth affinity


    The rock shines= Lightning affinity

    The rock gets lighter= Wind affinity


    Being a basic test it doesn¡¯t show the magnitude of the affinity or if it is manipulation/reinforcement magic aptitude.


    Manipulation is the ability of transform and manipulate the elements in the nature.


    Reinforcement is the ability reinforce the body with elemental energy, like the name says.


    The Reinforcement type is the most common.80% of population that has magic affinity are from that type. That¡¯s ¡®cause  to reinforce the body isn¡¯t a difficult  thing. Even with low talent and compression in magic, most people are able to do basic reinforcement. But,like was said, don¡¯t be fooled¡­Magic is deep, don¡¯t underestimate the Reinforcement type. The power level will only depend on the ability and dedication of the person.


    Basic Reinforcement  consists in these effects:


    Earth: Better defense


    Wind: Better dexterity(Agility)


    Fire: Better stamina


    Water: Auto healing(Regeneration)


    Lightning: Raise in strength


    On other note, If a individual don¡¯t have a certain affinity there are ways of making you able to use other elements, and that¡¯s the use of a contract with a spirit or a familiar with that affinity, but that¡¯s a subject for another time. Besides that, magical researchers found ways to mimic the Reinforcement  type magic, but it is not cheap.


    The Manipulation aptitude is a real head start in the road of understanding magic. To manipulate the element around you is a great advantage in combat for a mage, being able to attack from a distance. Mages with manipulation type magic are very valuable in times of war.Besides that, Manipulation lets them use the element around them and to form weapons with them. They are know as the ultimate magicians.


    In resume, Reinforcement mages are know as Paladins, because of the lack of ranged magic attacks they use their abilities to improve their close combat techniques. And mages who can use Manipulation are know as ¡°Sorcerer¡±,because of their ability to manipulate magic.


    Sylvia gave Lance the enchanted rock and said with a smile;


    [Sylvia]¡±Honey, do like I showed you last time¡±


    Sylvia and Drake taught Lance the principles of magic and combat since he was 6.So he was quite familiar in how to


    control his magical essence.


    Lance put his right hand on the stone¡­.


    Immediately the rock started glowing.


    [Drake]¡±Hahahaha, you have lighting affinity like your father! I have low talent, but will try my best to pass to you all I kown¡± Said Drake with a smile in his face.


    Suddenly, Lance started feeling pain in hand and removed quickly!


    Sylvia and Drake were startled.


    [Sylvia]¡±What happened,honey?¡± asked with a worried face


    [Lance]¡±It was nothing,mother.I felt my hand in pain because of the heat.


    Drake and Sylvia were surprised. A dual element affinity is rare and, probably less than 0,1% of mages had it .


    [Drake]¡±Let me see it.¡±


    Drake went and lifted the rock wich was about 20 cm.


    He couldn¡¯t make a sound¡­


    Sylvia got worried and asked:


    [Sylvia]¡±What happened?!?¡±


    [Drake]¡±He¡­ he has Fire affinity too.¡± Said in a surprised tone.


    [Sylvia]¡±That¡¯s terrific!! My baby is a genius!¡±Said in joyful tone.


    [Dake]¡±That¡äs not all¡­ catch it.¡±


    Sylvia hearing her husband saying that prepared to catch the rock.When she received¡­came the surprise.


    [Sylvia]¡±It is¡­light.¡±


    [Drake]¡±He has wind affinity too!¡±Said Drake in a joyful tone.

 Training

    Heyyy,what¡¯s up?


    Just a heads up, because i will be changing the writing style. I¡¯m trying to adjust, see what works better.So, tell me what you think =DD

    Sylvia was shocked. Normally, people would only have 1 type of elemental affinity, having 2 was rare, possessing 3 was a miracle. Having more elemental affinities meant that he could make more combinations of magic in combat! That means his futures accomplishments are only dependent of his dedication to training and studies.


    Magic can be said to be a science in this world, being that researchers  could already mimic magic in certain ways. Besides that, magical formations that are used in everyday life like to produce electric energy or to make a vehicle move are thoroughly calculated to make them work with perfection. That¡¯s without counting in more complicated magic, like portals or summons, witch could cause disasters if done wrongly.


    But there is a intangible side of magic to science, that¡¯s the abstract and nearly infinity ways magic can be used. For a matter of a example, let¡¯s say there is a bout between two Paladins. The Paladin #1 has Lightning affinity and the Paladin #2 has Earth affinity. If you thought that the number #1 has advantage in strength and the number #2 in defense, and only that; you¡¯re wrong. Number #1 could use his improved strength is his legs to make him move faster and number #2 could use his Earth elemental energy to make him heavier and, with that, make his attack power rise.


    That¡¯s only a brief example, magic is way too vast to be summarized some book. But maybe ,with this, you could understand that there is more than the eyes can see in relation to magic.


    That was the reason for surprise and joy of Sylvia and Drake, having 3 affinities from birth improves his vast possibilities of using magic, by a HUGE margin.


    Sylvia and Drake were static, but recomposed themselves quickly. That was because they were afraid of making him conceited about himself and, with that, stain his bright future.


    ¡°Baby, that is a great given by the gods to you. Be sure to make the best from it¡±. Sylvia said with a serious, but caring face.


    ¡°Yes,mother!¡±Lance said with a resolute face.


    Lance loved his family, but there was a special place in his heart for his mother. He would make anything for her.


    One time he overheard she saying that she needed some Arnicane flowers(This flowers are used for pain control and for bruises) for medicinal uses. When he heard that, Lance immediately left his house and looked for this plant for about 5 hours before being found passed out in the snow, ¡¯cause of the cold. Knowing a little of Sylvia personality, you can presume her reaction¡­


    ¡°Lance, it¡¯s great that you have 3 elemental affinities, but don¡¯t let that get to your head. You need  to train a lot to make up  to your blessing .Besides that, you have to prepare mentally for my training, it will be far from easy¡±.


    ¡°Tomorrow in the morning you will be learning magic from your mother, you will get a break from training for lunch. After that you will receive my training¡±. Said Drake in serious tone.


    ¡°That right, baby. Go sleep now, your father¡¯s training is going to be hard¡±. Sylvia said in a preoccupied tone.


    Sylvia knew that assassins training were hard, but, in this case, she couldn¡¯t phantom what her son would pass through¡­


    With that Lance went upstairs to his bedroom .


    Drake had a strange mix of feelings shown in his face. Seeing that, Sylvia was worried and asked:


    ¡°What¡¯s the problem,Drake?¡±.


    ¡°Ah¡­it¡¯s nothing¡­. hahahaha, I¡¯m just thinking about the possibility of my son being a great mage hahahaha¡± Drake said trying to conceal something.


    ¡°He will be, I trust our baby¡± Sylvia said with a smile in her face.


    After that she went upstairs to tend to her daughter who was excluded of this situation and may be sad about it.


    When she left,  Drake¡¯s face sunk. He was worried about tomorrow, about the training he would be giving his son. Only him and his family members knew what Lance would be put through.

    Morning came and Lance awoke by sunrise. He was super exited for his training to begin.


    ¡°Today I¡¯m embarking on my journey for strength, I will not let my parents down!!¡±


    With a resolute face Lance went down the stairs. Waiting for him at the living room was his mother with a table full of food.


    ¡°Good morning, honey. Sit and eat, you need to be well fed to do give your best in training¡±


    ¡°Will do,mother. By the way, where is father?¡±.


    ¡° He went to the city, Drake said he was going to get some things for your training at the city and pick some job at the Adventurer¡¯s  Guild, after that he will come home to give your training¡±. Sylvia explained.


    After hearing  that Lance nodded and thought:


    ¡°Father is getting equipment for my training? Hahaha I¡¯m getting more and more exited!!¡±


    When Lance finished his breakfast, Sylvia called him outside and started explaining the principles of elemental magic training.


    Elemental essence was everywhere, in some places were in more concentrated and in others scarce, but the were no place without it.


    To be able to use magic, one first would be need to feel the flow of particles around him.


    ¡°Elemental essence is abundant here in our village, that will make it easer for you to practice.¡±Sylvia explained.


    ¡°The first thing you need to do in order to use magic is feel the flow of Elemental essence around you, people normally close their eyes to focus ,¡®cause patient and a clear mind are essential for this training. But you don¡¯t need to do that, just do what you fell it is more comfortable.¡±


    ¡°You have 3 Elemental affinities, so you¡¯re going to feel the presence of 3 different flows. Later on you will have to discern which one is which. I have Water affinity so I can¡¯t give you any tips, but even if I had the same affinities as you, I wouldn¡¯t be able to help you. Every individual has different  experiences  when feeling and absorbing each Elemental essence.¡±


    ¡°Now you can start. Don¡¯t feel discourage if you can¡¯t feel the flo..¡±


    ¡°I felt it,mom!¡± Said Lance with a enthusiastic tone.


    ¡°Well¡­ that was quick fufufu.¡±


    ¡°When you finish it all ,just tell me¡±. Said Sylvia in a joyful tone.


    Lance was focused in his training. After feeling the first flow, he found the second one in succession.


    The third one he kind of felt it, but just when Lance thought he was about to achieve it, he would lose the feeling.


    ¡°What¡¯s happening? I felt the other two so easily¡­¡± Lance thought with a confused  expression.


    ¡°Maybe I¡¯m not focused enough¡­ Mom said a clear mind is essential.¡±


    Lance tried to stop thinking about his next training and other things and focused in feeling the flow. Immediately after using this method, he could not only feel the flow more and more vivid around him, he could too sense the 2 others flows


    like never before!


    After 8 or so minutes of the beginning of the training, Lance got up and run to tell his mother he had done it.


    "Mother! I have finished." Said the kid with a happy face.


    "Oh my... You really are something aren''t  you fufufu". Said Sylvia with a surprised face.


    "Now we will begin the second part of your training. You will absorb the particles in the flow and then test it out to see which one is which. To help you absorb these particles, a comparison would be with breathing. Try to absorb them like you pull air into your lungs.¡±Explained Sylvia.


    ¡°Will do, mom!¡±


    ¡°I didn¡¯t think he would have such a aptitude and be so interested in such training. Drake would probably die of boredom if he was in his shoes fufufu¡± Sylvia thought.

    Lance tried to do like his mother told him to, and very quickly got the hang of it. The most difficult part of this initial training is to sense the flow, after that it get easier. The motive is that, the bodies will naturally absorb the particles of the flow the individual has affinity, since birth. The problem is, we can¡¯t control the rate absorption and use the magic without sensing the flow first.


    He could clearly feel the difference between  the energies.


    ¡°Finished,mom!¡±


    ¡°Good job, honey! Now let¡¯s start the final part of this initial training.¡±


    ¡°I will first explain the usage and the consequences of using magic¡­For the best use of magic you need two things: stamina and control. With this training you will be enhancing you body with your Elemental affinity, it doesn¡¯t matter if you have Manipulation aptitude, ¡®cause Manipulators can use Reinforcement magic and that is why they are called ultimate magicians¡­  ¡±


    ¡°But anyway¡­. you don¡¯t have to be concerned with the number of particles around you. They are everywhere, they are the essence of the universe. The problem is, when you use magic, being for reinforce you body or to control the elements around you, it drains your stamina. For a better use of magic you can improve your body condition or your control of magic, to use less stamina for spells and such. You will do both! I will be taking care of the control exercises while your father will help you with the physical part.¡±


    ¡°  You can start testing out to see which flow is which.¡±Sylvia explained.


    ¡°Okay,mom!¡±


    ¡°Let¡¯s start with that one which was difficult to sense.¡± Thought Lance.


    Immediately after he reinforced his body with the particles, Lance felt his body light as a feather.


    ¡°Oh! This one is the Wind essence. I¡¯ve never felt so light in my life, I need to test this out!¡±Thought Lance.


    Lance started running and jumping around like a monkey.

    But even before he aimed at its neck, he felt great pain. Lance knew that pain, it was the collar giving him a shock.


    The faint fooled the robot, but wasn¡¯t good enough for his father... But he had learned his lesson, Lance didn¡¯t stop his attack and beheaded the A.G.

    Within this six months Lance discovered through experimentation that he had Manipulation aptitude for Lightning and Fire. During that time he trained very hard to improve his control and technique, achieving some tricks on the way¡­

    ¡°No, thank you. Knowing they are alive is enough.¡± Said Ingrid with a face of mixed emotions, both relief and fear for her parents conditions .


    ¡°Alright, if you don¡¯t have more questions, let¡¯s go. I¡¯ve already  spent too much time here.¡±


    Just when they were getting up¡­.


    ¡°ROAAARRR!!¡±


    ¡°Ah! I almost forgot about you!¡± Said Lance


    In the corner of the carriage there was a cage with a white tiger in it. He was about 1,40 meters tall and 1,80 meters large, with black stripes covering all of his body.


    ¡°You sure don¡¯t look like a puppy, you¡¯re taller than me!¡±


    ¡°Look who¡¯s saying!!¡± Thought Ingrid with a complex expression


    Lance was everything except normal and Ingrid was beyond surprised with that. Kids from the North are, normally, tougher than South kids, but this was way pass the point.


    ¡°I can release you, but you can¡¯t attack us!¡±Said Lance while approaching  and looking the tiger in the eyes.


    ¡°Uhmm¡­ Lance¡­ Do you think is really a good idea to release him with us here?¡± Said Ingrid with fear in her voice.


    ¡°it¡¯s alright, he won¡¯t attack us. Will you?¡±


    ¡°Roaar¡± Growled the tiger in agreement.


    Lance, then, went to look for the keys. After searching the bodies of the slavers, he found it on the corpse of the taller one. He, then, opened the cage.


    The tiger, immediately, tried to run from there, but it fell exhausted on the ground before even leaving the cart.


    ¡°Looks like you are still under the effect of the drugs they gave you¡­ Ha! I think I can help you! My mom packed some potions for me, let¡¯s see if there is something useful in here.¡±


    Lance took the potions from his bag and started to look for some type of paralyze heal.


    He found a small jar with a green liquid with a word written on the top: ¡°Paralysis¡±.


    ¡°This must be it! Here, drink this and see if helps you.¡± Said Lance while putting the jar near the Tigers mouth.


    While this was happening, Ingrid got up from the ground and approached Lance. She was still shaken with all that has happened, but was steadily returning to her normal self.


    ¡°Do you know which drug was used to make him like that?¡± Said Ingrid.


    ¡°No.¡±


    ¡°Then how do you know this medicine will work??¡± Asked Ingrid with a confused face.


    ¡°I don¡¯t hehehe, but it¡¯s better than nothing, right?


    ¡°Wha¡­ Well¡­ Do what you think is best¡­¡±


    Ingrid remembered that Lance was a child, and, like every child, would make decisions without thinking about the consequences.  Wrong medicine could kill rather than heal , even with her small knowledge she knew that.


    If that Tiger died she would feel safer, because creatures like that were really aggressive and could attack at any moment, so she didn¡¯t intervene.


    The Tiger drank all of the potion and after, more or less, five minutes it started to move its paws.


    Lance was overjoyed, he felt like his mother by helping this Tiger.


    Ingrid seeing the Tiger getting better, got scared and ran to the outside of the cart.


    ¡°You shouldn¡¯t run outside! You might end up luring  monsters! They are attracted to movement, fire and bloo¡­..¡±


    Lance stopped talking and started to cold sweat, that because he realized the big mistake that was made by him!!


    ¡°Little Tiger, If you want to live I suggest you to heal more quickly!! Monsters will probably arrive at any minute!¡± Said


    Lance with a face with full of fear.


    Both of then got out of the cart as quick as possible, only to see Ingrid knelled on the snow crying of fear.


    In front of her there was a big monster with bat traces, but, at the same time, having a humanoid figure. It was a Chacreta.


    Lance¡¯s legs started to shake, he never had seen such a monstrous thing. He knew it was very powerful just by its presence!


    He had two options and no time to think which was the right one.


    Run and leave this girl to die, or put his life on the line to fight the beast.

    He looked to his side and saw the Tiger preparing to attack the monster.


    Tigers are proud creatures, they rarely back down from a fight.


    ¡°Maybe together we can do this!¡± Though Lance


    Seeing this, Lance made his decision. He started to wrap his arms with lightning.


    Lance would wait for the Tiger to make his move and when the monster gets distracted he would strike!


    But before anything could happen the Chacreta disappeared from his vision.


    ¡°Where¡­ He was ther..¡±


    SLAP!


    The Chacreta appeared next to Lance and gave him a merciless strike.


    Lance flew to his left side while hitting the Tiger. They flew together until being stopped by a tree.


    The Tiger promptly got up and roared towards the monster. Lance,  having being directly hit, spat a mouthful of blood and knelled while looking at the monster. The beast was smiling at him.


    ¡°This¡­ This guy is way too powerful! He is just playing with us!¡± Though Lance with a face full of fear.


    ¡°I¡­ I can¡¯t directly attack him. I need something for my advantage!¡±


    While Lance was thinking, the Tiger started his attack on the Chacreta. He was pretty fast, being able to compete with the beast in speed.


    The tiger was giving his all to dodge and promptly strike back with his fierce claws at the Chacreta.


    After dodging six attacks, the tiger got a strike in! His claws penetrated the arm of the beast, causing a deep cut.


    Lance was getting hopeful, maybe he didn¡¯t need to do a thing!


    But this thought was instantly crushed. After being hit, the Chacreta eyes got blood red. It was angry.


    It gave the tiger no time to think, making a fast swing with its arm. The Tiger barely dodged by jumping outside of its


    range. Nevertheless, is up torso was with a deep wound and he was losing blood fast.


    Lance, seeing this, woke up from dreamland and though:¡± Maybe now this monster will be distracted, from little tiger attacks, and I will be able to kill it!¡±


    When he got up, Lance realized he had broken ribs.


    Lance was stupefied, that was from a single slap! He knew it was broken, because this happened to him during training.


    Lance was doing his agility training up in trees, he lost his balance and fell 15 meters with his side on a rock. And this pain he was feeling, right now, was worst than then, that means that a single attack from this monster could be fatal for him.


    ¡°I can¡ät be hasty¡­. What would father do in  these situations..¡±


    While  Lance was thinking, the Tiger was giving his all just to evade the Chacreta.


    Its wound was already healed( Being a lesser vampire, The Chacretas have the ability to regenerate, it is not as strong and quick as a real vampire, but, nevertheless, still is a powerful perk)  and now was back to its sadist self. Trying just to injure the tiger and not kill him, to ¡°play with its food¡±.


    Lance saw the tiger struggling and thought:¡± If we could restrain its movements a little¡­¡±


    Suddenly a though passed across his mind, the slavers had paralyzed the Tiger. That means they must have some king of strong drug with them!


    He, then, went as fast as possible to loot the captain of the slavers. Lance figured that the precious things would be with the leader, and he was right. Inside his bag there was 6 bottles with different liquids.


    ¡°AHRRG! Which  is the one I want!!!¡±


    BOOM!


    The Chacreta had launched the tiger at a tree. Lance saw that the tiger was nearing his limit, he had to act quickly! So he did the only thing that could make him know the contents of the bottles, Lance tasted every single one.


    After being put to a training that could be called torture, Lance was beginning to feel immune to poisons and such, but he would still feel some of the effects!


    The first one tasted like a oil, didn¡¯t seem to have any effect. The second was a transparent liquid, had minimum taste and when was drank gave Lance a set back. It was a strong poison, luckily he threw up  before any consequences were made. That poison was too strong, even for him!


    The third one was a yellow liquid, immediately after Lance tasted it, he felt his limbs go numb for a moment.


    That was the one!!


    Lance didn¡¯t waste time, he quickly headed to a tree at his side and broke one of its branches, after giving it a sharp edge,


    Lance poured the liquid on it and threw with all of his might at the Chacreta.


    The monster, with its ridiculous reflexes, caught it while giving Lance a sneer. It thought that this was his desperate attack!


    But , The monster saw that the human kid wasn¡¯t with despair in his face, he had a big smile on it.


    The Chacreta dropped the branch, after that it couldn¡¯t move its arm.


    The beast was struggling to move it, but it was in vain.


    KEEEEEEEEEEEE!!


    The Chacreta gave a loud shriek, it was confused and angry. But before it could do anything, The tiger, seeing it struggle, bitted, with his strong fangs, its neck.


    The Chacreta was in disbelief, its food was killing it! The Chacreta tried to bite back, but was stopped by a fierce pain on its back.


    Lance took opportunity on the commotion and struck with all of his might at the monsters back, hitting its heart!


    The Chacreta fell on the ground, it was dead!
