 Prologue - Unfulfilled Promise

    A small figure which looks like a little girl appears before me.

    ???: Promise me that you will come by and see me again!


    ???: Must I?


    ???: If you don''t, I will cry!


    The face of the female figure looks like she was about to burst into tears.


    ???: Eh!? Fine, fine. I promise.


    ???: Really?


    ???: There, pinky promise. Happy?


    <Even I did promise her, I do not think I can fulfill that promise after I have stepped into this unknown world which I have created.>


    <In 2XXX,  VNMMO Creator (Virtual Novel Massively Multiplayer Online) is a popular massively multiplayer online game-maker which is created by a company known as R&R Limited. This game-maker allows one creator to design the game according to the fictions and novels he or she has written. Others has used this game-maker to replicate history, myths and stories of famous people and it is still unsure how far its usefulness could extend.>


    <A few weeks after its release, I, Rex D. Ashfield and nine of my friends created a MMO using that game-maker and named it Terrarium Online. The purpose of creating this MMO was to create a world where all ten of us can play together.>


    <After putting whatever we wanted into the MMO, we accelerate the world to 100 years later, leaving the bugs and balancing to the game-maker assistant A.I, Systema. Although it sounded lazy, we still planned to enter our world as mortals or gods to check for any hidden bugs and errors.>


    <We then took positions of gods as discussed beforehand and called ourselves the Ten Divines.>


    Gwin, Queen of the gods. Goddess of the sky.


    Anak, King of the gods. God of the earth.


    Cruz, Sage of the gods. God of darkness.


    Deus, Oracle of the gods. Goddess of the sea.


    Shire, Entertainer of the gods. Goddess of beauty.


    Rinpoche, Defender of the gods. God of war.


    Xon, Smith of the gods. God of fire.


    Nur, Watcher of the gods. God of light


    Niva, Mediator of the gods. God of commerce

    <Systema was added as one of the Ten Divines as it is understandable that our creations would not accept me, a god of chaos.>


    <Anyway with Systema''s help, as gods, we created various guilds, factions and kingdoms, spreading religions of the light, dark, spirit and evil among them through notification windows.>


    <It was fun watching our creations creating wars and politics on their own and sometimes we would take part in them as gods but the fun did not last for long.>


    <Reality lives started to catch up with us. Some of us got too busy to come online and some of us totally forgotten about it.>


    <But I did not forget. The world which we use our mind, energy and time to make. I would always enter the world whenever I got the time, creating, destroying and restoring as I seem fit.>


    Upon the grassy fields of the world which I and my friends created, I laid down and looked up to the sky.


    <Is this the end?>


    I thought to myself.

    Rex: Hm? What is it? Systema


    Systema: An unauthorised user has logged in.


    Rex: That''s impossible.


    <The only ones who can enter this world would be only me and my friends>


    Rex: Kick the user out and ban the ip, Systema. I do not welcome hackers.


    Systema: Access denied.


    Rex: Huh? Systema, did you get hacked ? Reset the access list and do it again.


    Systema: Affirmative.


    Systema: Reset completed. Attempting previous orders....


    Systema: Access denied.


    Rex: This is getting annoying. Systema, what is preventing you from doing so?


    Systema: Unable to confirm.


    Rex: Systema, teleport me to the unauthorised user. I want to see what the hacker want.


    Systema: Affirmative.


    <I should just ignore the hacker and shut down the world. It was because after that meeting, I failed to fulfill that promise.>
