《Dungeon World Creator Online》 Prologue - Captured a Wild Goddess Prologue Captured a Wild Goddess Today is the day a new VRMMO is being released into the world. Dungeon World Creator Online (DWCO) is a game that promises an entertaining experience different from most games. You are given the opportunity to create and rule over dungeons instead of just traveling the world, hunting monsters, crafting, etc. Over time, you can even have villages, cities, or even an entire world inside your very own dungeon. As enticing as it sounds, it¡¯s actually a lot more difficult than many would think. Creating dungeons requires extensive efforts from the creator and interaction with others to make a dungeon truly prosper. No one person can provide everything needed so teamwork is essential! Despite that, nobody is required to build a dungeon and such people can play the game like they normally would in any other game. However, it is precisely this unique aspect that has attracted so much attention on the opening day. The closest that has been achieved prior to DWCO is just claiming ownership of an already developed dungeon for taxes. You could never really influence what was inside a dungeon. Everyone has their own wish they want to fulfill. An infinite dungeon that can never truly be conquered as it will continue to develop addition levels. A tower of heaven that literally pierces the clouds as it reaches towards the heavens. Creating a stable ecosystem of monsters that simulates a real-life ecosystem and watch as they grow and evolve over time into sentient creatures. Becoming a dungeon god that has somehow fit not just a city, but also has oceans, empires, mountain ranges, and so much more inside their dungeon. It is for these very things, that a pair of twin sisters has bought their own copy of the game. Alena, the quick-tempered and younger sister who loves fighting and burning things to ashes like a true pyromaniac. Acacia, the calm older sister, who loves relaxing and freezing things in a block of ice like any other ice mage. Both were 17 year old and thus were classified as young women by society. These 2 sisters have decided to team up, not that they ever separate, in order to create their own awe-inspiring dungeon. Each had already put on their dungeon visor, bracelets, and anklets for the most authentic playing experience. They have many plans for their dungeon and so little time to test anything.

Once the loading process was finished, the sisters were reunited in a completely white room. They wasted no time in having a reunion hug despite the fact that they had just seen each several minutes prior. Now that they had their skin-ship meter refilled, they moved their attention on to the menus displaying images of different races in front of them. Both had decided to play as elves since it¡¯s a really cute class. Not that mermaids, half elves, vampires, and faeries are not cute but many of those have huge downsides. Afterwards, all they had to do was choose a name. Acacia went with Snow while her little twin sister named herself Flare. It has always been a theme for them to be polar opposites when it comes to using magic in games. When they were finished, they were greeted by a goddess which was relieving since they thought that the entire process was automated with no eye candy to ogle. ???: ¡°Hello, my name is Evangeline but you can call me Eva if you prefer. I welcome you to this world and I shall assist you should there be any questions before you get started. No need to fear as I can still control the help menu to answer any questions once you get in-game.¡± A pink haired girl wearing a white robe that would be seen on a priestess descended from the sky in all her glowing splendor. 12 white wings stretch out from her back to show off her grace and majesty. Sapphire-blue eyes that reflect the vast oceans give her a calming atmosphere. The most striking part of her appearance was that she looked like a 7-year old girl and these twins couldn¡¯t help but hug her for all her cuteness. Eva: ¡°Hey! Let me go! It¡¯s a crime to assault everyone¡¯s favorite goddess like this!¡± Flare: ¡°Such a waste!¡± Snow: ¡°You¡¯re so cute yet you never take advantage of it?¡± Flare: ¡°Don¡¯t worry! These big sisters will take care of you from now on.¡± Snow: ¡°Yes! Leave everything to us!¡± Eva: *sigh* ¡°Why must I suffer so?¡± The hug session continued for a good 10 minutes before the twins were satisfied. After they forced out a promise to visit them from the goddess, they were promptly ejected from the white room and sent to their shared dimensional room. Dimensional rooms are normally separate, but those twins would rather be together while playing the game so they ¡°bargained¡± with the goddess for it. As such, they now have a room with enough space for 2 people. The goddess could only lament accepting such a small appearance as her way to combat the ogling from perverted men as only lolicons would dare look at a child with such eyes which is another form of creepy. She did not realize that women were more prone to displaying affection towards children that they consider cute. Not only that, but children themselves also never fail to turn her into a playmate for a bit. It¡¯s a curse that she will never be left alone no matter what appearance the AI goddess makes for herself. It doesn¡¯t help that her creator is clutching his sides while watching her predicament. Parents are a bunch of meanies! Elsewhere, white particles condensed inside a room to reform the bodies of Snow and Flare. The room functions more as a lobby where you can chat with friends, teleport to towns you have visited or your own dungeons, invite others to play with you, etc. Of course, you can use it like a normal room and fill it with various things as well. For now, it just has a couple of beds and nothing else decorating the room. Since there was nothing to do with their room, they moved on to create a dungeon together. With another light show, they appeared in a 10x20m cave. No plants, animals, or monsters are inside yet. No openings for people to get inside or exit so this must be the default setting. Normally, dungeons would start off as a 10x10m area, but our protagonists are getting a bone for being together. In the back of the cave are 2 crystals the size of a marble that allow either Snow or Flare to modify the dungeon. These are called dungeon hearts which must be fed mana in order to get bigger and stronger in order to pull off more modifications. As dungeon hearts get bigger, the monsters, too, shall become stronger. After looking around the room, they were interrupted by a series of ominous messages.
[As you have become the master of a dungeon, you have joined the dungeon faction. As a member of this faction, your relationships with monsters and other dungeons will improve.]
[Many sentient races will seek to conquer your dungeon to obtain your wealth and power. Your dungeon heart is a priceless magical reagent and is thus very important to protect it from greedy hands. Others will slay all who live inside your dungeon for experience and anything of value that may be looted. Not advised to travel through towns outside of your dungeon as doing so may bring unwanted attention towards yourself.]
[Monsters have been persecuted and hunted since time immemorial. Some monsters are actually evil (as much as any other race), but most simply live by the law of ¡°survival of the fittest.¡± All monsters will help protect your dungeon in exchange for a safe and functional ecosystem to live in.]
[The Church of Agni has declared all dungeons as pests that must be purged. Their followers all believe in living pure lives and see monsters and dungeons as filth corrupting the purity of their surroundings. Anyone affiliated with monsters or dungeons will likely be killed on sight.]
Flare: ¡°What the heck! We are going to be hunted down by the church simply for playing the game as it was meant to be played?¡± Snow: ¡°There there. Doesn¡¯t this make things more interesting?¡± Flare: ¡°If you call being an enemy of the entire world as interesting then you would be correct.¡± Snow: ¡°I wouldn¡¯t exactly say the entire world is our enemy. Only a single church and anyone who wants to make a quick profit would outright attack us.¡± Flare: ¡°But we are only 2 people. Even with an army of monsters, we will inevitably lose!¡° Snow: ¡°Then the answer is obvious! All we need is to gather like-minded individuals as we grow our dungeon.¡± Flare: *sigh* ¡°I guess you are right, but how are we going to convince others to forsake everything for our dungeon? It will take a long time to make our dungeon attractive to others.¡± Snow: ¡°We can worry about that later as we get stronger and develop our dungeon. Shall we check our status before getting started?¡± Flare: ¡°Fine with me sis.¡± Snow + Flare: ¡°Show Status¡±

You might be wondering why some stats are buffed while others are penalized. All races have unique benefits to give them an edge over other races. Elves have immense magical prowess and speed, but are extremely weak in terms of other physical abilities. Demi-humans have high physical abilities, but tend to have low magical abilities. Vampires are powerful in every way but they have a crippling weakness to sunlight and light magic. Mermaids are unrivaled in the water but are weakened above ground. Humans are normal, but can get stronger 5 times faster than any other race. Snow: ¡°Judging by our status, it seems we can pick 2 classes out of a huge list without even doing a quest for them.¡± The class system in DWCO is a bit freer than most by allowing 2 different classes. Class-ups also exist and can further bolster the power of your character by doubling your specializations. For instance, a mage class can become a dual-element mage or a combat mage. Even without the class-up, both classes can synergize with each other and act just like a class-up. Some classes can synergize, but it doesn¡¯t mean you can have any combination as a class-up. It¡¯s best to choose your starting classes wisely as you might not be able to get a class-up you like. In addition to the potential of having 2 classes, your stat modifiers will increase once you pick a class and when you class-up. Stat modifiers from picking a class all add up to an extra 100% distributed to different stats. Flare: ¡°Oh? Well I know what I am picking then.¡± Snow: ¡°Same for me.¡± Flare: ¡°On 3?¡± Snow: ¡°1.¡± Flare: ¡°2¡± Snow + Flare: ¡°3¡± *bishan*
[In response to dungeon master Flare¡¯s class change, her dungeon heart has gained fire affinity and unarmed combat knowledge. Monsters living in the dungeon will be more likely to learn fire magic and become more skilled at using their bodies when fighting. The dungeon will naturally become hotter and increase the chance that monsters will evolve into fire variants.]

Coinciding with the messages, the 2 dungeon hearts change in appearance. Originally, they were of a transparent blue color with only a few bright blue specks inside. Now Flare¡¯s dungeon heart has become a red crystal with a bright orange flame in the center. Snow¡¯s has become a light blue crystal with a bright blue flame in the center. Flare: ¡°Can I?¡± Snow: ¡°Please do.¡± Flare: ¡°What the heck! Since when does a person¡¯s class affect the dungeon?¡± Eva: [Eva¡¯s friendly help system here! Don¡¯t try looking for me since I am not even there! Now for the question at hand about how classes affect dungeons. Silly, dungeon hearts are born from your soul and thus reflect all of your growth. When dungeon hearts spread out the mana in its core throughout the dungeon, it imbues the monsters with your attributes. This in turn allows monsters to more easily grow up into a form that matches the dungeon master.] Flare: ¡°¡.Eva get down here.¡± Eva: [I-I have no idea what you are talking about. I am simply a manual designed to answer questions that pertain to the game.] Flare: ¡°Eva. Hug. Now!¡± Eva: ¡°Ok¡¡± With a flash of light, a pink haired goddess that has resigned herself to her fate as a hug pillow floats down into our paltry dungeon and is immediately captured by the twins. Elsewhere, a young man in his late twenties is watching the scene and presses a button. As he does so, his grin gets bigger to signify the ominous feeling approaching the girls. *ding*
[You have caught a wild goddess Evangeline. Your new pet will now live inside your room and can freely roam inside your dungeon. Take good care of my daughter! ~ Yours Truly, Lucian]
Eva: ¡°Wha-Father! How could you?¡± Snow: ¡°¡¡± Flare: ¡°¡¡± Eva: ¡°Please don¡¯t do this! I promise I will be good!¡± Lucian: [And you will be better than good with these two.] Eva: ¡°But father, don¡¯t you love me?¡± Lucian: [I do and it breaks my heart to do this! To give up my sole ownership over my daughter to complete strangers is heart wrenching!] Eva: ¡°Don¡¯t lie! You are just doing this for your own entertainment!¡± Lucian: [Shhh, they didn¡¯t have to know that. Now they will think I am weird!] Eva: ¡°You are weird!¡± Snow: ¡°Sorry to interrupt a family moment, but we have a few questions.¡± Lucian: [Oh right.] *ahem* [Speak child or forever hold your peace.] ¡®After his cough, he made his voice sound deeper and more majestic.¡¯ Snow: ¡°We can hug Eva as much as we want?¡± Flare: ¡°Do we have the rights to bathe her as if she was our own little sister?¡± Snow: ¡°And most important of all, can we dress her up as much as we want?¡± Eva: ¡°Wha-what are you saying? Have you no shame?¡± Lucian: [Hmm, deal but on one condition. All pictures must be forwarded to me so I can add it to my collection.] Eva: ¡°Father¡.¡± Flare: ¡°Agreed.¡± Lucian: [And with that I bid you adieu.] With the disappearance of the almighty voice of the creator, the twins continued to use the goddess as a hug pillow as they considered their options. Advancing their dungeon is a slow and arduous process. Every cubic meter of terrain costs 1 mana to add on to the dungeon. If the starting cave was not free then it would cost 2,000 mp due to the height of the ceiling. Flare: ¡°Hmm, what shall we do? Our dungeon hearts only has 10 mp and it takes 10 of our mp to make it grow by 1 point. This is incredibly inefficient.¡± Unfortunately, all dungeon hearts start off with a capacity for 10 mp. Increasing it by a single point requires you to spend 10 times as much mana to refine it. Progress is slow, but it gets easier as you secure greater quantities of mana for your dungeon. Snow: ¡°Hmm, from the list we can only create slimes or grass with the current mp capacity. I¡¯m against slimes as there are too many tentacle fantasies for my taste¡.sooo grass?¡± Eva: ¡°Agreed. No to slimes!¡± Flare: ¡°But we need to kill stuff in order to lvl and get stronger. The stronger we are, the more mana we can offer to our dungeon. So I vote we make slimes.¡± ¡®She states in a teasing tone in order to nudge me. I hate you and your common sense!¡¯ Snow: ¡°Fine, but I am blaming you if anything happens.¡± ¡®I might also be somewhat unwilling to help if she is the victim instead of me. Although I will jump in if things go too far.¡¯ Eva: ¡°If anything happens, I¡¯m going to fly away.¡± ¡®Hey, if we are going down then you are coming with us!¡¯ Flare: ¡°Yeah, yeah. Hurry up and spawn your slimes.¡± Snow: ¡°I¡¯m¡on it.¡± Together we spawned 50 slimes the size of our palms with our mana. According to our pet goddess, they multiply every hour so it¡¯s best to leave them alone for a bit. As such, we decided to check on our dungeon hearts while we wait for our mp to regenerate.

We were confused by the fact that we are considered a part of the dungeon until we remembered how we were a part of the dungeon faction and can no long live freely outside of dungeons. After picking a name for our dungeon, we asked Eva how to fuse our cores together. She gave us a questioning glance before telling us that a core fusion can never be undone. Of course, we twins would never be swayed by such a trivial matter so the goddess just sighed before assisting us in our endeavor. By agreeing to a confirmation window that showed up after using the core fusion dungeon skill, our cores immediately shot towards each other. In a flash of light they devoured each other and began mixing their properties in a weird way. Half of the crystal had an ice blue color while the other half was a fiery red color. Inside the crystal, the powers of fire and ice collided until they finally merged at the center of the crystal. In the center was a sphere that was ice blue in the fire crystal half and fiery red in the ice crystal half. The ice sphere released snowflakes amidst the flames in the fire crystal while the fire sphere leaked flames into the snow of the ice crystal. It was really beautiful to look at and even Eva gasped in awe at our dungeon heart. With this done, all we could do was wait for our mana to replenish while we go over our plans as a weak dungeon masters. We can go outside to capture weak monsters, but there are currently many Agni priests waiting near the weaker monsters to attack unsuspecting dungeon masters. We also lack food in our dungeon since all we have are slimes and nobody wants to eat those blobs of sliminess. Over the course of 3 hours, we had refined our dungeon heart until it had 170 mp. Now that it¡¯s at a decent size, we are going to add another room to our dungeon. Unfortunately, we ran into a slight problem. We forgot that we need food and there is no way in hell we are eating a slime. Speaking of which, there are now 400 slimes and they have already begun to solve their food problems. How you ask? Cannibalism is my answer. Yes, right now there are 400 slimes duking it out to see who becomes food for the rest. That number quickly dropped down by half as the winners were decided. They are all still lvl 1 slimes, but that should change within a day. It¡¯s weird how slimes constantly make children just to eat them later. Does this world not have child abuse laws? Once our mana had recovered, we worked on a 2nd room for the next few hours. We made a 10x5x2m hallway followed by a 10x20x2m room. Since we were creating the area, we had full control over the type of terrain. The left half was made with an ice cavern layout and the right half was made with a lava cavern layout. Best part is that you don¡¯t need to spend extra mana to make different types of terrain unless it has some special material. Although, the center line tiles were a bit more expensive as we had to use icefire blocks to connect both halves of our dungeon without issue. After finishing up the base designs of the new room, we created a few snowberry and heatbberry seeds that we planted in their respective areas. Normally, it would take a while to grow a tree, but our dungeon is cheating the laws of physics for us so it will only take 5 hours to be fully grown. 5 hours of being ravaged by hunger. Hurry up and grow already! Being driven by hunger and thirst we moved on to making rooms on our own sides with the same dimensions as the former. We had also agreed to making the center of the room into a pond although one of them is going to be filled with lava while the other is covered in ice. It was more time-consuming to make the ponds since we had to extend the ground deeper in order to give at least 5m of depth for the ponds. Afterwards, we created a bunch of snow carrots and fire carrots which we planted around the ponds with a few berry trees here and there. You might be thinking that we had forgotten to extend the ceiling of the rooms to fit the newly growing trees. Well, you¡¯re wrong as we had been keeping careful track of the trees while we were designing our rooms. After all, it only costs 56 mp to have the walls extend higher by a single meter. Unfortunately, trees need 8h to grow the fruits after maturing so we were completely screwed out of a meal. At least the carrots will actually sprout within 5h of planting them, but we must replant the seeds afterwards. I wonder if we can make a monster to do that for us. Anyways, with the 3 new rooms built, we now need to work on accomplishing our actual objective. Capturing monsters! Chapter 1 - Sever the Fang That Holds the Future Sever the Fang that Holds the Future With Eva¡¯s advice, we temporarily opened a portal inside a forest for us to safely walk out without drawing attention to ourselves. Nobody was around so we relaxed ourselves and started looking for weak monsters that we could bring back to our dungeon. Still, we know the Agni priests are still snooping around the vicinity of rabbits and foxed in the plains so we can¡¯t go near that area and had to settle for what could possibly kill us inside this forest. It didn¡¯t take long for us to notice something moving in the distance. However, it wasn¡¯t monsters but in fact people. A group of human bandits were attacking a family of fox demi-humans. There were 3 of them hacking away at the father while another 3 had subdued the mother and proceeded to strip her of her clothing. The children had tried to run, but the remaining 2 humans had quickly captured them. Throughout all of this, these bandits were laughing at their misery. Looking at each other, we could see the reflection of our own disgust and anger at what was happening. There was no need to discuss. All that needed to be done was to kill each and every last one of them. Normally, people would have to slowly learn how to use magic, but it¡¯s not necessary if you learned to do so in other VRMMO¡¯s. In our case, we always played as magic users so it¡¯s second nature for us. Only downside is that we can only control a miniscule amount of our elements with our low stats, but even a pebble is capable of killing someone depending on how you use it. Moving my sights to the bandit who was already in position to rape the mother, I manifested a sharp sheet of ice above him. It then rapidly fell and sliced off his precious manhood. An agonizing cry of pain echoed throughout the forest as large amounts of blood gushed out from between his legs and was quickly followed by another scream as a spear of fire pierced straight into the ass of a bandit holding her down. He fell down onto his face and started to roll around on the grass to put out the fire. Not that it will do much for his ass. Everyone had already noticed our existence, but one of the bandits who were distracted had paid for his mistake with a missing arm by the prudence of the father. Bandit 1: ¡°Damn it! Who the hell are you?¡± Flare: ¡°Your worst nightmare.¡± After saying so, we continued to fire off magic but with less success than our surprise attacks. Still, the mother was able to deal with the last guy on her while the father was still being held back by the 2 and a half bandits keeping him at bay. The 2 bandits who had captured the children tried to pull off a hostage scenario, but I simply conjured a couple of small ice spikes outside their peripheral view and jammed them into their ears. We may be lower leveled than these bandits, but pain is still pain. As long as we hit the right spot, it will distract them long enough to get a good hit in. My little sister capitalized on that and used fire jets to propel her to the bandits to land a fire fist on one of the bandits face while I conjured dual swords made of ice and charged ahead. She was a little clunky with her fire jets since it¡¯s the 1st time she has done something like that, but the end result was still the same even if it ended up with her landing on her ass. The leftover bandit had already recovered somewhat to block my attack, but was still uneasy on his feet after having his senses impaired a little. Even my follow-up attack was dodged easily. Even so, I ran forward with a charging thrust with both of my swords hopefully pointing towards vitals. He smirked at me thinking he was about to win until a bang came from his back which knocked him straight towards me and more importantly, my swords. He was instantly impaled by my sword with one of them actually hitting his heart. To my displeasure, however, the force that propelled him was too much for me to handle so I got tackled and was sent flying onto the ground with a corpse on top of me. Slowly getting myself out from under that bandit corpse, I glanced at my surroundings. The father had finished off the rest of the bandits with a little help from the mother¡¯s magic. The children were crying while being embraced by their mother. My little sister was playing by burning off the dick of the last remaining bandit who lived. I smiled at that. Even if he lives, we don¡¯t want his genes spreading throughout the world. Of course, just to be safe, I had also severed any dicks off the corpses of bandits to make sure all of them were dead and there were quite a few pretenders. *ding*

Looking towards my sister with a questioning expression as she looks back at me with raised eyebrows, I can tell she received the same title as I did. Well, the title isn¡¯t wrong but it is exaggerating a little. It¡¯s not like we are going to go destroy every man¡¯s future. Like this, people are just going to fear us for no reason. Even the father and his son are already trying to hide their manhoods when we look towards them. After mentally sighing, I walk over to my sister in order to have a little chat. Snow: ¡°You know, you could put a little less force into your punches. That bandit was really heavy.¡± Flare: ¡°You seemed fine to me.¡± Snow: ¡°Hey, I lost 20 hp to that stunt. That¡¯s almost half of my entire hp bar.¡± Flare: ¡°Oh? If you can¡¯t handle this much then it will be difficult to fight against the world since as you said it was an interesting situation.¡± ¡®I can feel the sarcasm in her voice as she knocks me off my high-horse. It¡¯s my fault for not thinking too deeply about how seriously bad our situation is.¡¯ Snow: ¡°I¡¯m sorry little sis for not thinking much about this.¡± ¡®Real, genuine tears pour down my face as I body slam my sister onto the ground and cry into her chest.¡¯ Flare: ¡°Ah geez, what will I do with you.¡± Snow: ¡°Will you fo-forgive me?¡± ¡®My sobs start to drown out my words.¡¯ Flare: ¡°Of course I will forgive you.¡± ¡®With that said, she starts petting my head like I am a child. Although it¡¯s embarrassing, it does feel good.¡¯ We sisters have made it a rule to always make up with each other within a day if we were to get angry at each other for some reason. It¡¯s mostly because it¡¯s lonely without our other half by our side. I mean, how can we creep out people by ending each other¡¯s sentences if we are not together? Yes, we are truly a selfish pair of twins! In a world for just the two of them, there exist twins having a heartwarming moment despite being surrounded by a bunch of dead bandits with their dicks either cut off or burnt and one with the inside of their ass burnt. The onlookers had no idea whether to be happy for being saved or scared at how they were saved. Only the mother was calm as she approached the twins to interrupt their moment in order to offer her thanks. The father and his son had looks of relief flash across their face as they could simply shove all the responsibilities onto the mother. Mother Fox: ¡°Excuse me. Sorry to interrupt an important moment for you two. My family and I would like to offer our thanks from saving us from a horrible fate. If there is anything we can do for you, please ask us and we will try to assist you as long as it is within our means to do so.¡± We quit our drama session and make ourselves look a little more presentable as saviors as she was offering her thanks. We can¡¯t look heroic if we are covered in tears right? Snow: ¡°No need for any of that.¡± Flare: ¡°We helped out because we wanted to and not for any reward.¡± Snow: ¡°Besides, we can¡¯t let scum like that have children.¡± Sweat starts to drip down the foreheads of the men as they remember the mayhem wrought by these two young women. It¡¯s kind of hard to forget something when the evidence of such an incident is all around you. They even grimaced as the mother brutally crushed one of the severed dicks as she walked towards the ¡°executors.¡± Flare: ¡°Yeah, the world will be a better place if they can¡¯t breed.¡± Mother Fox: ¡°I agree wholeheartedly with you! I will forever remember your figures as you saved me from those disgusting things.¡± ¡®As she said so, she grasps our hands and heavily shake them with ample admiration.¡¯ And thus begins our ascension to becoming a role model for women everywhere. Even the daughter is gazing at us with sparkling eyes of sapphire. Well, I guess this much is fine considering both of them would have seen hell for the rest of their lives had we not stepped in. Snow: ¡°Although, we could use a little help in capturing some weak monsters for our dungeon.¡± Flare: ¡°Yeah, I want to move on from being a slime dungeon.¡± Snow: ¡°Funny since you are the one who wanted to make them in the 1st place.¡± ¡®I tease her seeing her discontent towards slimes.¡¯ Flare: ¡°Only to kill.¡± Snow: ¡°Then why haven¡¯t you killed any yet?¡± Flare: ¡°I don¡¯t want to be covered in slime.¡± ¡®After she said that, I couldn¡¯t help but clutch my sides as I laugh over her excuse made in hindsight. I wonder if this is how the gods and goddesses feel after creating various life forms.¡¯ Mother Fox: ¡°Ah, well if it¡¯s just that then we can help you. My name is Valeria and I am an alchemist. The fool hiding some treasure over there is my adorable husband, Arsen, and he is a warrior. Our pride and joy are Farris, our son, and Fayyim, our daughter.¡± Looking closely, we see that Valeria is demon fox demi-human from her black furry ears and her black tail with a red tip at the end. Her eyes were even crimson red like a demon¡¯s eyes. She was also a decent user of dark magic as well. Arsen is most likely a holy fox demi-human considering his white fur and how efficient he was in healing himself while fighting. If he wasn¡¯t a healer, he probably would have never lasted so long while outnumbered. His eyes glowed in golden light that made him look like a royal along with his fluffy white tail that had a golden tip at the end. Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Both Farris and Fayyim showed traits of their parents. Their dichromatic eyes reflected crimson in one eye while the other was golden in color. Unlike their parents, they had 2 tails which showed their greater potential as fox demi-humans. Each tail represented one of their parents which probably meant that they are capable of using both of their magic affinities. Valeria: ¡°Dear, Farris, Fayyim! Please get over here and thank your saviors.¡± With a grunt, Arsen walks forward as if staring at the jaws of death. Closely following behind him is Farris who looks like he might wet himself. Fayyim is just nonchalantly skipping towards us without a care in the world as she hums a tune. Arsen: ¡°Thank you for saving my dear wife and kids.¡± ¡®He says with a quick bow before hiding behind Valeria. Some warrior you are!¡¯ Fayyim: ¡°Thank you very much for saving us big sisters. Come on, you too big brother.¡± With a slap on his back, Farris walks forward and breathes deeply. Resolving himself, he then gave a look of grim determination. Really now, he¡¯s acting like we stole his candy and then beat him upside the head with it. Farris: ¡°I thank you for saving us and mom.¡± Arsen: ¡°Hey, what about me?¡± Farris: ¡°What about you?¡± Arsen: *kuh* ¡°You little brat!¡± Valeria: ¡°It can¡¯t be helped dear. You were a little useless when it actually mattered.¡± As if the final nail had stabbed him in the heart, Arsen collapsed to his knees. He mutters things like ¡°I was trying my hardest¡± or ¡°I want to be praised too.¡± His wife could only smile in response to her husband¡¯s drama while Fayyim is openly laughing. The perpetrator, Farris, only shrugged his shoulders as if his father was a disappointment. You wouldn¡¯t think this was a family about to be sold into slavery from the way they are behaving. Valeria: ¡°Ignoring him, I would like to request sanctuary in your dungeon. If you allow us a safe place to live our lives, then we can assist you in the growth of your dungeon.¡± Flare: ¡°Do we get petting rights over your children?¡± Snow: ¡°Do we get hug pillow rights over your children?¡± Valeria: ¡°Why of course! It¡¯s the least they can do for you.¡± Flare + Snow: ¡°Yay!¡± ¡®With a shout, we hug each other in gleeful happiness.¡¯ Farris: ¡°Hey, mother! Don¡¯t sell us out!¡± Valeria: ¡°Oh? But your sister seems to already be enjoying herself.¡± ¡®And it¡¯s true. A little fox girl had jumped into the hug fest without anyone noticing.¡¯ Farris: ¡°Sister¡..¡± Once we had settled everything, we went around to hunt for some monsters. We had asked beforehand if something happened to their home for them to want to live in our dungeon and apparently bandits had attacked their village. Before we could even offer to help, we were shot down. According to Arsen, there are extremely high lvl bandits among those who attacked their village. Otherwise, it¡¯s impossible to raid their village as demi-humans are known for their strength and lust for battle. The ones we fought were mostly grunts and the strongest of them were the ones fighting Arsen. Through Valeria¡¯s urging, we captured a dozen bees away from their hive and sent them inside our dungeon. She says it will be beneficial as bees like to scatter pollen and make honey. We would have went for an entire hive, but it¡¯s extremely bad to disturb a hive and it will piss them all off. Squirrels were also extremely useful as they like to plant seeds. Although, they will eat some of the seeds as it is their main source of food. They are small and cute, but they have some sharp claws that can easily slice you apart. Why are the cute ones the deadliest? As the Agni priests were still stalking the plains, we had to capture a few rabbits of a more deadly variety. Feral rabbits look like normal rabbits that are slightly bigger, but they have extremely sharp teeth and can eat meat. They still love their carrots, but never get on their bad side and especially by stealing their carrots. According to Valeria, the last person who tried that didn¡¯t even have bones remaining after the resulting massacre. Cute, but deadly! Now that the primary source of meat has been secured, we had finally went and found a fox. Strangely enough, it just looked at us before leading us towards its nest where its family was resting. Upon seeing us, they all got up and waited on us to open a portal to the dungeon for them. It¡¯s weird how we don¡¯t even need to fight or lure a monster into our dungeon. They just instinctually sense that we rule over a dungeon and decide to join us. Monsters aren¡¯t sentient, but they can still think for themselves to an extent. After returning to our dungeon, we were met with a strange sight. Hundreds of slimes all over the dungeon and many had changed into different types to match their environments. Water slimes, ice slimes, rock slimes, fire slimes, and even lava slimes are now a part of our dungeon. Most monsters can only change their bodies through a rank-up, but slimes are able to do so in order to adapt to their environment. Suddenly, Valeria shot out a few dark spears to kill a few slimes and carried off their cores with a delightfully, creepy expression. This made everyone back away in fright due to the rapid change in her atmosphere. Looking at her family, we see Arsen nod in confirmation to our thoughts. Obviously, they have witnessed this many times, but I rather not ask questions when the answers might scare me. Ignoring the madness for now, we increased the size of the room for our dungeon heart to 30x30m. It was mostly so Arsen could have some space to make a small temporary shelter. Surprisingly enough, it¡¯s actually common for demi-humans to keep enough materials for temporary housing in case they need to run during an emergency. The children were currently playing with Eva whom mesmerized them with her beauty, but mostly due to the 12 wings growing from her back. She was a little grumpy at being made into a hug pillow by a little girl, but she got over it as they began to play games. Farris had a hilarious look on his face as he stared slack jawed at her and I even thought he was going to confess on the spot. Unfortunately for him, Eva had shot him down before he even tried. Fayyim consoled her brother and they began to play together. Eva may dislike being treated as a child, but she sure does get along well with children.

As it has been a while, we decided to look at our stats. We only gained 2 lvls from that little skirmish, but it can¡¯t be helped. We simply spread the stat points we gained equally over intelligence and wisdom as it¡¯s our best source of damage. My ice blades and her fire bangs depend on magic stats despite our usage of it in a physical manner. Looking throughout the rest of the dungeon, it seems like we will have quite a bit of work to do in order to fit our ever growing horde of monsters. With a nod in the other¡¯s direction, we both head off to our own sides to begin the expansion of the dungeon. We had already decided on a basic layout in order to make invaders have to go through every room on one side to even reach our dungeon heart room. Once we complete the basic layout, we will add more twists and turns to it in order to make people lose their way. Chapter 2 - Monsters are the Rulers of the World Chapter 2 Monsters are the Rulers of the World A bang echoed throughout the room as a fist smashed a sword into pieces. Slashing sounds soon followed to cut down their foe, but to no avail. A woman with scarlet hair rushes towards another with icy blue hair as she creates another ice sword. As soon as the woman with scarlet hair entered the range of her swords, she made a horizontal slash to cut her in half. However, her assailant merely flipped into the air with the movements of an acrobatic and gave her a flaming spin kick that was promptly blocked with the flat end of her sword. The kick, however, still knocked her a few feet back. The woman with icy blue hair ran ahead by kicking the ground repeated to speed herself up. Once she had approached the other, she side-stepped and brought about a flurry of sword slashes onto her opponent with ever increasing speed. A few hit, but most were avoided through precise footwork and a few acrobatic moves. Despite how aggressive the swordswoman was, she still suffered from a few punches and kicks that were able to bypass her flurry of swords. The final collision between her sword and her kick had knocked them both back a few meters. Once more, the swordsman charged towards her adversary but this time she did a spin jump that turned her blades into a tempest. Her opponent had no choice but to dodge or be sliced in half. The swordswoman stopped herself with an arced skid across the ground before continuing her tempest of blades again. This time, however, the tempest was arced and was slashing horizontal towards the ground in order to prevent any side-steps this time. Left with no other choice, the scarlet haired woman had to jump into the air to avoid the attack. Unfortunately, the swordsman had altered her stance in mid-air in order to slash her leg before she could escape her range. The yelp of her opponent confirmed that her attack had been successful this time as she skidded across the ground. Now that her leg is injured, the scarlet haired woman had to call it quits. Not that it ended in her defeat as the swordswoman was dangerously low in health from the blows she received. The women fighting each other are none other than the twins Snow and Flare. They have been sparring in order to increase their skill in melee combat. Snow: *Phew* ¡°That was a good workout.¡± I say while wiping the sweat off my brow. Flare: *pant* ¡°Tell me about it. You got me good at the end.¡± My sister exhaustedly replies while trying to catch her breath. Snow: ¡°Barely. I was almost forced to end the match due to all the punches and kicks you gave me. I nearly died!¡± I grin towards my little sister. She has been improving at an incredible rate with that duelist class of hers. I can barely keep up with her. Flare: ¡°You act like all those bleed statuses you gave me were doing nothing. It was getting difficult to fight properly due to the anemia.¡± Snow: ¡°Lucky me. If you were not hindered at all, I might have lost again.¡± Every day for the past few days, we have been sparring to improve out combat skills. We needed to be fully prepared when we explore the dungeons of other players. Conveniently, training skills related to your class is also a method of gaining lvls, albeit less efficient than just killing monsters. Of course, skills won¡¯t level up through training unless you spend skill points. As for our stats, agility is extremely important as it determines how fast we move and even how fast our spells move. All physical stats except dexterity increases ki while all magic stats increase mana, but vitality/intelligence gives double the amount of other stats. Intelligence increases magic damage and mana capacity, wisdom increases mana regen and cast speed, mind increases magic resist, strength increases physical damage and weight limit, vitality increases hp/ki and recovery of hp/ki, endurance increases stamina and defense, agility increases run/attack/magic-attack speed, and dexterity increases accuracy and ranged weapon damage. Speaking of skills, there are 2 types of skills you can obtain. First are exclusive skills that are only for specific races and classes. The other is general skills that anyone can learn. For example, my twin swordsman class gives me the ambidextrous skill that completely negates the damage and speed penalty for dual wielding (normally, the dominant hand will be at 70% effectiveness while the weaker hand is at 55%). Otherwise, you have to train the general dual-wielding skill in order to reduce those penalties. Elemental magic classes all gain a mana manipulation specifically for their elements. You can gain skills when you manipulate an element in a certain way, but it is unnecessary as mana manipulation is purely controlled through imagination and the only difference will be how much mana you pour into the spell. It is still useful to have the skills as they list the runic letters, hex symbol, and aria in order to cast the spell without directly manipulating the elements. All elemental magic has a counter element that can negate or nullify its own element in some way, yet can also become extremely powerful if melded or fused together. Light vs darkness, fire vs ice, water vs lightning, and wind vs earth. Fusing the elements is the goal of most mages as it is the next step after accomplishing melded magic and fusing opposing elements is an even greater accomplishment. Light and darkness magic are 2 sides of the same coin and the symbolization of yin and yang. Under normal circumstances they can never coexist in the same spot at the same time, but can merge into creation/destruction magic and yin-yang perfect body. Of course, obtaining such abilities by fusing light and darkness is nigh impossible even if you tried. Fire and ice are the manipulation of heat energy and cold energy respectively. By nature, they mutually negate each other. In rare cases, however, a flame can be cold and ice can burn. It may be weird that water does not defeat fire, but that is because fire magic is not purely about flames and can just use water itself for its magic. Same for ice magic as it can utilize anything as a conduit for spells, but water is the easiest medium. Water and lightning are the weird opposing elements as they can both defeat and counter each other depending on the degree of purity for their elements. Water is normally weak to lightning as it conducts electricity, but pure water is non-conductive. Against pure water, lightning has no choice but to pierce it as if it¡¯s a sturdy wall. Water currents charged with electricity might seem like a fusion of the elements but it isn¡¯t and is just melded together. A true fusion will likely be between pure water and pure lightning, but this is only theoretical as such a spell has never been made before. Wind and earth is a battle of freedom vs stagnancy. Neither can defeat the other as air can simply avoid the earth and the earth is an unmovable mountain before air. It is a never-ending battle that is both futile and pointless. A melded magic of these elements is possible (sand storms), but nobody has been able to do a complete fusion of wind and earth. In addition to sparring, we have also been expanding our dungeon to have 5 rows of 5 rooms that are all separated by a 10x5m hallway. Only exception was that we built a large pond starting from the bottom-middle room that is connected to our dungeon heart room and extends all the way to the walls of the top-middle room. All of the tiles that surrounds the water has been made of icefire blocks so it also burned up our mana a lot. I don¡¯t really know why, but the water here tastes really good. All of the monsters in our dungeon prefer to use it as drinking water instead of other sources of water. Eva said it¡¯s because of the mana density in the water being obscenely high for some odd reason, but she doesn¡¯t know why either. I guess even the goddess of this world can be stumped with new things. Maybe it¡¯s because of the icefire blocks? Perhaps we should test this later when we have the time. We have also added a greater variety of plants as well. Some red and blue flowers that are ingredients for making potions were added in various rooms. Herbs that seem to help with frozen and burned status effects have also been spread around. All of which is made into various potions by Valeria as crafters always make better items and the best a non-crafter can hope for is not creating poison. We tried and we failed. Hard. With the completion of the basic layout for our 1st floor and our training, we head back to our dungeon heart. On the way we cross paths with the product of Valeria¡¯s experiments. She was able to turn those slimes into gels which are similar to slimes in appearance, but they feel like jello. They even taste like jello. Gels seem to have an ability to separate some of their bodies into inorganic substance for us to consume as a snack, but they have to give up on their own reproduction to do so. I would have never tried to eat one if not for Farris¡¯ insistence that they were delicious. Geez, kids these days are so reckless in what they decide to eat. Gels aren¡¯t a higher rank of slime, but a new species altogether (kinda like how dogs, wolves, and foxes are all canines). Another notable difference between the two species is that gels are more intelligent and like to interact with others. Some of the monsters like to lie on top of a heat gel or cold gel due to how refreshing it is to be in contact with one. Even an air gel can give you a nice, comfy breeze when they sit on top of your head. Personally, I would like to replace all the slimes with gels as they are superior in every way. We have also been expanding our home room a bit and it now extends to 50x50m. The dungeon master ability to create and modify a dungeon is shared by everyone in-game even if they don¡¯t own a dungeon. It¡¯s convenient, but we had to use the dungeon heart¡¯s mana for a few things such as creating complex things like seeds. We can also use it to make buildings, weapons, armor, etc without the necessary crafting classes, but that is usually a waste of mana. Strangely enough, we can even make those gels now that Valeria has made a few for us, but only the types of gels she has made. Not that we would as they will naturally double every hour in order to compensate for being one of the most highly sought out delicacies in the dungeon. Poor gels! We might need a way to fight obesity later on¡ Another interesting group of monsters in our dungeon are the squirrels we took in. The kids had brought a few decks of cards to play with and the squirrels quickly took up gambling. Even now you may find a few of them having a stare down in a fate deciding duel that will decide who has the most acorns. Most squirrels will scream out, bang their heads, and walk away in shame. Only one will pump their fists in the air as they happily vocalize their victory. I wonder when squirrels learned to read, much less play cards. Actually, since when do cards exist in a medieval world? That is a question that may never be answered. It¡¯s because of the squirrels begging for more decks of cards that we had to burn a lot of our refined mp from our dungeon heart in order to make custom decks of cards for the squirrels and make a few tree stumps for them to play on. It is fun to watch them though, so I will let it slide. Especially when they utterly crush Arsen every time he challenges them. He never gives up and always swears for his revenge as he walks away while the squirrels are rolling on the ground laughing at him. Although the bees have already made several nests, they are really territorial. Unlike animal type monsters, they only obey their queen and will kill anyone else on sight. Their breeding capacity even comes close to the rabbits so there are an absurd amount of pinky-sized bees flying around in some areas. If not for the honey, I might have considered crafting beecubes. The honeycubes were a nice substitute though. Once we arrived in our dungeon heart room, we pulled up a list of other dungeons that are open to the public for live training experience. Most dungeons seemed low level, but there were a few that had a maximum recommended level of 15+. Out of the choices, we decided on a dungeon called purgatory. It seemed like one of those undead dungeons and you can¡¯t call yourself an adventurer unless you have killed a zombie. After a quick goodbye, a couple pettings, another victorious squirrel, and a vengeance threat we had finally disappeared in a flash of light. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appearing from within a flash a light, we find ourselves inside a huge graveyard. There are tombstones and shovels everywhere. A few crypts here and there that looked old and decrepit. The stench in the air made us want to jump off a cliff, but we came prepared with clothespins (the ultimate anti-zombie artifact). All around us are a horde of zombies just staring at us as if we interrupted their morning stroll. We stared back at them like we were a bunch of deer caught in the headlights. This continued for a few seconds and then for a few minutes. No matter how long we waited, they never budged an inch. Flare: ¡°What is this? A staring contest?¡± Beside me, she puts her hands on her hips and glares at the zombies. You know you can¡¯t beat something that never gets tired right? Snow: ¡°Only animals do staring contests.¡± Flare: ¡°No, only animals attack if you lose a staring contest.¡± Snow: ¡°Details, details.¡± Waving off my sister, I take a closer look at the hundreds of zombies around us. It gives me a bad feeling that we are surrounded by zombies that do nothing but stare at us. Flare: *sigh* Anyways, should we just kill them since they are doing nothing? Snow: ¡°Nah, waste of mana. They are all only like lvl 1-3. Let¡¯s go find something more appetizing to kill.¡± Hopefully they won¡¯t bite us as we walk past them. I enjoy the feeling of not rotting from the inside out. ???: *shing* ¡°Interesting choice of words mademoiselle.¡± Out of nowhere, I feel a dagger placed against my neck. My sister and I were both alarmed by the black cloaked man who got behind us without our noticing. My heart starts pumping faster as I contemplate how to get out of this without dying. Snow: ¡°Isn¡¯t it a little too soon for the dungeon master to come out? Normally, we would go through the convoluted process of a bunch of heros surviving arduous trials until they finally reach and slay the demon lord. You are kinda breaking protocol here.¡± I casually speak towards my assailant in a criticizing tone. Don¡¯t you villains know Demon Lord 101? Granted, all demon lords tend to die because of that. ???: ¡°Hahahaha! Sorry, but this isn¡¯t that kind of story. It¡¯s much more convenient to kill up and coming heros before they can gain a single level.¡± With his declaration, the dagger against my throat looms closer and nicks me. Crimson red blood drips down my neck as he licks his dagger clean. Is this guy a vampire? Flare: ¡°What if we aren¡¯t heros?¡± ???: ¡°Ho? So you consider yourselves villains?¡± Flare: ¡°Might as well be with the discrimination and all that garbage.¡± My sister shrugs after saying so. ???: ¡°Hmm, you two young ladies wouldn¡¯t happen to be dungeon masters would you?¡± Snow: ¡°Perhaps. Maybe. Kinda. Sorta. Possibly.¡± ???: ¡°You know, most people give a concrete answer when their life is on the line.¡± Snow: ¡°You know, most assassins kill people without being noticed instead of striking up a conversation with their prey.¡± ???: ¡°Touch¨¦!¡± *fwish* With a brief twirl of his dagger, it has already been sheathed back to his waist. ¡°Well as you may have noticed, I am not out to explicitly kill everyone who lurks into my dungeon. I, Vladimir, am a recruiter of sorts for the Lucifer¡¯s Feathers, an underground dungeon alliance of sorts.¡± Looking towards our assailant, I can see that he is in fact a vampire. He has pale skin, silvery white hair, long fangs, and ruby colored eyes. Garbed in a black cloak, he appears mysterious and his face gives off a certain gentleman vibe. Definitely a lady killer, but this isn¡¯t some vampire chick flick. Flare: ¡°Alliance?¡± Vlad: ¡°As most dungeons have issues with surviving their first days of letting intruders inside, a need for some order has arisen. We help a little with the elimination of troublesome existences that I am sure you have witnessed.¡± Snow: ¡°Like the Agni priests?¡± Vlad: ¡°Especially them. Can never kill enough priests, but unfortunately it¡¯s also a trap to kill them.¡± He sighs as if reminiscing his past troubles. Flare: ¡°How can it be a trap?¡± Vlad: ¡°You know how the Church of Agni is the only church that outright hates us right? Basically, they can kill us and never gain infamy but we do if we kill them. Once we get infamy, every church will pretty much consider us as villains and will hunt us down. At first it was just the Agni priests obstructing us, but now 2 other churches are assisting them from the sidelines should we appear. It¡¯s quite annoying actually.¡± Snow: ¡°Figures.¡± Flare: ¡°Forget about that, what do we kill to gain exp? Our own dungeon needs to develop and I am assuming it¡¯s bad for there to be dungeon vs dungeon pvp. I wanna kill something!¡± I rub my temples while listening to this little sister of mine. She is such a thrill seeker¡. Vlad: ¡°Isn¡¯t it obvious?¡± With a twirl, he snaps his fingers. ¡°All we have to do is kill those annoying priests for our precious experience.¡± Snow: ¡°Isn¡¯t that-¡° Vlad: ¡°Dangerous? Who cares? All you get is a penalty if you die and maybe some time in prison.¡± Snow: ¡°Bu-¡° Flare: ¡°Let¡¯s go have some fun sis. Hurry and open the portal mister vampire.¡± Vlad: ¡°As you wish, mademoiselle.¡± With my sister dragging me by my arm, I was being forcefully dragged away. I tried to resist, but Vlad took my other arm and overpowered me. They then did a group jump straight into the portal while carrying me. One of these days I need to figure out how to relax in peace. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside a forest covered in shade, a portal appears and spits out a group of people. A black cloaked young man nimble lands on his legs while the women fall on their butts. The females were a little frustrated and slightly embarrassed, but they still begrudgingly accepted a hand to help them up. After quickly dusting themselves off, they got a look at their surroundings. Snow: ¡°For future reference, can we not recklessly jump into unstable rifts in space and time.¡± Ugh, my body feels woozy. It¡¯s like I thrown in a washing machine spinning at the speed of light while moving on top of a roller coaster that has exceeded mach 10. Flare: ¡°Ditto.¡± Vlad: ¡°Seemed fine to me.¡± Snow: ¡°Because you aren¡¯t even alive.¡± Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Vlad: ¡°You shouldn¡¯t knock things until you try it. You have never lived until you have unlived.¡± Snow: ¡°I rather not. Vampire stories has kind of left a bad taste in my mouth and most just takes a dump on the werewolf guys just for kicks. Biased writers.¡± Flare: ¡°Yeah, I like the werewolves. They¡¯re fluffy!¡± Vlad: ¡°You¡¯re passing on the ideal of immortality and blood-filled pleasure just for fluffiness?¡± Flare: ¡°Of course!¡± Vlad: ¡°I don¡¯t even¡¡± In a mixture of confusion and helplessness, Vlad throws his arms up in the air and goes to sulk in a corner of the shade. Hah! That¡¯s what you get for thinking you can just pick up women with a well sought out race. Flare: ¡°Rather than that, shouldn¡¯t we be more concerned about the priests in the plains.¡± Snow: ¡°Yeah, they are just blatantly patrolling the area like they own it. Remind me again how we are going to kill them without reinforcements coming to kill us?¡± Vlad: *Hah* ¡°All we are going to do is a quick kill, capture, and run strategy. As a necromancer, corpses are very important to advance my dungeon and there is no better corpse than a priest. You see that group over there? I will kill the holy assassin looking guy first while you 2 take care of the paladin and the priest. Be careful though since we don¡¯t know their fighting styles.¡± Snow: ¡°We¡¯ll be fine, but what about you? It¡¯s shady over here, but the sun isn¡¯t just going to let you waltz out there.¡± Vlad: ¡°Not an issue with a bit of dark magic. [Devour the light and plunge me into absolute darkness. Shadow Coat.]¡± Once his chant was completed, shadows started to converge and cover his entire body. It looked like a full body armor made completely out of darkness. But how do you see? Vlad: ¡°Good luck and don¡¯t die.¡± Flare: ¡°Try to avoid getting sun burnt Mr. Vampire.¡± Snow: ¡°Don¡¯t die in a ditch somewhere.¡± Vlad: ¡°How cold¡¡± Now that our preparations are finished, Vlad stealthily snuck out and prepared to backstab the holy assassin. We, too, didn¡¯t fall behind and moved towards our targets as we waited for Vlad to attack first. I am going to have a fight with the priest while my little sister will have a brawl with the paladin. The sound of a clang rang out as Vlad¡¯s preemptive strike was blocked by the holy assassin. I shot forth a lance made out of ice while the priest conjured a light barrier to protect himself. Flare had charged straight at the paladin to land a punch, but was parried by his long hammer. Looking at the priest, I can tell this will be a hard fight as he is lvl 15. I may be only lvl 6, but my enhanced magical stats should put me almost on par with him as long as he doesn¡¯t turn this into a physical brawl. That was what I thought until he started casting fire magic to block my ice magic. Considering equal power, opposing elements will cancel each other out. The worst part is that he has both light and fire manipulation so he can use melded/fusion magic without chanting compared to me. Priest: ¡°Dungeon dwelling scum, did you honestly believe you could defeat our faith?¡± The priest speaks with arrogance in his voice as he has already claimed his victory. Snow: ¡°Actually, I do.¡± Priest: ¡°Hah? Are you high? This is undeniably my victory.¡± Snow: ¡°Oh, I am not talking about the fight but your faith. Let me guess how your church does things. In the name of religion you will outright murder others for not agreeing to your ideals even if they are innocents. Not to mention that if anyone fights back and kills a priest of your church, they then become criminals that will be hunted down and sent to prison.¡± Although it¡¯s probably a waste of time to argue with a priest that has probably been brainwashed, it might be fun to insult their religion a little. Who knows how corrupt the church is behind closed doors anyways. Priest: ¡°Innocents? There is no such thing as innocence when one sides with monsters. Your kind is as much of a menace to the world as the monsters themselves. No, your kind is even worse! They lead armies of monsters to assault kingdoms out of thin air and conquer the throne. Countless people have died and many kingdoms have fallen by the hands of you dungeon masters.¡± Wait what? You mean this church has actual reasons for harassing us instead of a misguided belief in some god? Tch, I wanted to hear about their dirty deeds. Snow: ¡°I¡¯m surprised (and disappointed). I thought all churches were filled with corrupted fanatics.¡± Priest: ¡°Corruption or not, monsters are the cause of all of our devastation. Not even tyrannical kings can cause so much suffering. The world would be better off if monsters cease to exist as decreed by our god.¡± Snow: ¡°And that is where your faith has gone wrong. Not all dungeons are out to conquer the world. Hell, not all dungeons have monsters. Some even use dungeons as an easy source of money as resources and monster materials are able to constantly grow in number unlike the world outside of a dungeon. If you tried, you could have made an alliance with some dungeons.¡± Priest: ¡°Even so, we can¡¯t take that risk. Too much has been lost to simply let you live. The terrors unleashed by another fully developed dungeon may bring about the end of humanity.¡± Snow: ¡°Then I guess there is no choice but to fight for our own ideals.¡± Priest: ¡°For the world, I will kill you.¡± I raised my ice swords as he raised his staff and kicked off the ground towards him. Utilizing my agility, I was able to dodge all of the fireballs and light arrows aimed at me. Unfortunately, he decided to burn the ground and increase the height of the surrounding flames to force me to charge through them. Resolving myself, I coated my body in a thin film of frost and kept replacing the parts that melted away as I went through wall after wall of flames. It hurts. The burns that I suffered were greater than I imagined, but I have finally reached this priest that is smirking as he is now aiming a big fireball at me. Without a moment to lose, I kicked off the ground to avoid the giant fireball shot towards me and shot a torrent of ice particles at the priest. He was able to block it with a light shield, but was unable to stop my incoming blade tempest. A line of blood was sprayed as a diagonal cut appeared on his chest. No additional blood was released as my swords clad in icy aura had frozen everything it touched. His face had become pale due to the cold permeating inside of his body. I gave him no time to heal himself and continued my barrage of attacks as he tried to counter me. We were both near dead and was about to end the match until a dreadful roar shook the very ground we were standing on. Everyone had paused their fights to look in the distance to see the sky turning black. No, something or more precisely many things were flying towards the human city at a ridiculous speed. A being that humans can never fight against lest they be destroyed! A being that terrifies the most brutal and cruelest of monsters that ravaged the lands! A being that is the embodiment of pride and power! Dragons! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Flare¡¯s POV) I used my flame jets to quickly approach the muscular old man and conjured a condensed fireball in front of my fist to explode when I punched towards his face, but he parried my arm with that long hammer of his. Ow! I think I got a bone fracture from that. Even so I started flying, dodging, punching, and kicking all around him by using my fire jets to easily reposition myself. He lacked the speed to keep up with me, so he couldn¡¯t dodge or block most of my attacks. Uh-oh! I think I burned his mustache. It looked real nice too, but now it is only half of what it was. RIP mustache. Muscular old man with half a mustache suddenly started moving quicker although not as quick as me. I guess he liked that mustache of his. Should we give the mustache a burial? I did just cremate it after all. As I was contemplating various things about the recently departed mustache, my mana was decreasing rapidly just to maintain my fire jets. None of my fire bangs left any lasting damage as the paladin was capable of healing himself. Since I don¡¯t want my face to greet his hammer, I decided to pour a quarter of my mana into a punch and fired it straight at his face. A loud bang blasted us both away from each other. Mr. Old man skipped across the ground 3 times before coming to a stop. I wanted more skips though. As for me, I did a cartwheel to absorb most of the force. As the muscular old man got back up, his entire mustache was not gone. Even his eyebrows and eyelashes are now deceased. He kept trying to heal himself, but not a single hair grew back. Accepting the true reality of his situation, he collapsed onto his knees and started crying. I feel bad for him. I wonder if he would invite me to the funeral later. Probably not. Before we could get our thoughts in order, a roar shook the ground. Both of us stopped what we are doing and looked towards the sky where the roar came from. The sky looked as if it was squirming as the specks got bigger. As they approached the city, we recognized what they were. They were dragons! But I don¡¯t have any mana to fight a dragon right now! Maybe they will be nice enough to let me fly on their backs? Last game I tried that ended up with the top half of my body becoming a snack. Perhaps these guys will be nicer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Snow¡¯s PoV) Priest: ¡°To think that the black dragon of annihilation would attack so soon.¡± Vlad: *sigh* ¡°It looks like it would benefit both sides if we retreat. No good will come out of getting in their way.¡± The priests of Agni were frustrated that they no longer had the time to eliminate us, but they quickly composed themselves as they had better things to do. The city needed to be evacuated. Before anyone realized it, the holy assassin was no longer among us. Flare: ¡°Are they really that strong? This city looks big enough to have at least a few powerful people to protect it.¡± Paladin: ¡°If only that was enough. Dragons are not within the realm of man to deal with and especially a swarm of that size.¡± The fleet of dragons moving at ridiculous speeds had already reached the city and began to lay waste to what once used to be human civilization. Buildings were crushed and houses were set on fire. Men, women, and children were screaming in terror and agony as they were being eaten alive. Even though the plains is a little ways off, the scene of carnage was ghastly. Vlad had already returned to his rift dungeon. The holy assassin had returned covered in wounds with a couple of young children in hands. They were covered in soot and seem to be unconscious. Wondering what they were going to do, I asked them concerned for their wellbeing. Snow: ¡°You guys are going to escape right? It won¡¯t take those dragons long to finish with the city and come here.¡± Priest: ¡°Even if we ran, we would never be able to escape from their sense of smell. Everything within miles of this city will become a wasteland.¡± Flare: ¡°That¡¯s¡.¡± Looking unsettled, my little sister wanted to say something but couldn¡¯t find the words to say. Paladin: ¡°Although it would go against our faith, should we give the kids to these ladies? Someone must survive to carry on our legacy.¡± Priest: ¡°Perhaps. Even though it pains me to say this, can we leave the future of our church in your hands?¡± Snow: ¡°That¡¯s fine and all, but why can¡¯t all of you come with us? There is enough room in our dungeon you know.¡± Priest: ¡°Simply put, we would rather die with our brothers and sisters and hopefully kill at least one of those bastards.¡± Paladin: ¡°Mostly killing the bastards. It¡¯s practically a dragon bargain sale over there!¡± Priest: ¡°True enough.¡± With a smile, he continues speaking. ¡°Mithra, watch over the little ones and teach them everything you know.¡± The holy assassin nods and walks towards us. After a few more parting words, we opened a portal to our dungeon and walked towards it. A loud thud followed by a splashing sound made us look back. Behind us was a 20m tall dragon that had sliced the paladin in half. In a panic, the priest casted one last spell but was crushed by the dragon¡¯s paw upon completion. That last spell saved our lives as a pulse of light knocked us through the portal before we could be killed. Upon arriving in our dungeon and quickly closing the portal, we all tried to get our bearings from the unstable teleportation. Even though we were enemies, they were still good guys in their own weird ways. I might miss that priest. Eva, Farris, Fayyim, Valeria, and Arsen had come to see what was wrong. Seeing us covered in wounds made them panic a little. Valeria started pulling out potions and forcing down our mouths even though we could drink by ourselves. Arsen was trying to converse with the assassin, but he stopped after only receiving 1 word answers at best. He simply showed him to their house where we have all been staying. That house will need some expansions soon. Farris and Fayyim were extremely worried about us, but we told them we were fine. They didn¡¯t buy it so I asked them to watch over the kids that were rescued which they reluctantly complied to do so. Eva said nothing the whole time as she was sitting in mid-air, but she probably knows everything that goes on in the world. As everyone is tired after that ordeal, we decided to rest for a bit. If what the priest said when we were fighting is true, then there are probably very few cities left on the world that hasn¡¯t been destroyed by monsters. Is this world coming to an end?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author''s Note Sorry about the wait. I have been reading dozens of fictions, web novels, and light novels instead of writing lately. I have decided to change how stats work a little compared to when i just started, but that is a minor detail since this is only the 3rd chapter. Also, I have been having trouble thinking of good names for villains like the dragon of annihilation. Anyone got any ideas?
