《The Data [Abandoned]》 Chapter 1 - Prologue "Destiny? What the heck are you talking about? Wait, where am I?" (???) As I placed the attention of my surrounding to my eye, I could see that every corner of every place was filled with darkness. No light, no nothing, not even an object. Attempting to locate something, anything, I waved my hands as I tried to grasp for anything that would stumble upon my hand. But sadly, it was a failure. Nothing collided with my hand as it went backward and forward, proving the fact that I am probably in some kind of a void space. Scratching my head, I thought of how I even got here. As I started thinking, a terribly painful sensation emerged from my head. "OUCH!!" (???) What was the word that came out of my mouth? As the pain presented itself upon me, It would appear that I could not remember what occurred on the period before this event, and I also did not notice the cause of my memories lost for some reason. It was probably a blessing in disguise, and If I had retained my old memories, I would frantically be panicked to death by now, while figuring out what had happened. That could be seriously ugly to watch! Regardless that, I must focus on the most important things first. HOW DO I EVEN GET OUT OF HERE? ... ... ... ... ... As time flew by, I managed to try various tricks but none of them worked at all. Clawing my hands to the space as if trying to scratch it open was a hilarious idea, but it obviously did not work. I also tried screaming like, seriously loud that my voice could go flying away from my mouth, who knows it may open up a portal like some certain comic. And yet again, it did not work. Rubbing my chin with two fingers, I began thinking if there was any other method I could possibly have missed, but then... *Ping*

Still, it¡¯s not like I can do much about it anyway, because I haven''t seen the ''message'' ever since being transferred here. Wow, I''m actually missing that guy....thing... whatever. Well now, first objective; Find out about the game. "Dear player, is there a problem?" (Revita) "No, not really...I simply have a few questions, is it possible if I ask?" (???) "It will be my pleasures to be of an assistant, so please, do ask." (Revita) .... .... .... .... "In other word, conclusively, this game is one of the most popular games of all?" (???) "Yes, indeed, with multiple functions and freedom that other games never have (and probably never will *giggles*), Mein Sof Online are regarded as most-played game by peoples at all times." (Revita) So the very first thing, well obviously, this game is a type of VRMMORPG that are based on a fantasy world, well, most games are anyways but screw that. Few of the features that this game possess and made it stand out above the rest VRMMORPG games are the freedom it offers. Players are capable of creating anything, as if it being the real world itself. Speaking of the real world, Mein Sof Online also possess what you call ''Perfect Automaton''. It''s a system which pretty much allows the game to run on a full simulation. In other word, a city can be destroyed, a new one can be built, all the NPC has a background story and their own personality, random quests may be attained through special means and such. This further boosts the players'' immersion rate to the game, and helps the game from being stale. Other than that, it is also mentioned that there are unlimited number of skills, classes and even hidden or unique classes. It may sound not much at first, but it has been widely known that most of the other games do not really have an advanced feature like Mein Sof Online, thus allowing even this feature to boost its owner up into the rank of the top ranks. Revita also mentioned there some extra features included, but refused to tell me and said that I should look for it by myself. With most part of the games explained out, I guess I must say I''m lucky to have ended up in this game rather than others. You have my thanks, ''message'' guy. And, I guess I should start moving to my character creation. "You have my thanks for answering my questions. Please begin the character creation process." (???) "It is my pleasure, and very well, initiating ''Character Creation'' sequence." (Revita) As soon as Revita muttered those words, she began holding her palm in a praying pose. Curious of her act, I simply tilted my head and looked at her questionably. Then, slowly, she opened up her hand, revealing the interfaces residing within her very hand. What a flashy character creation sequence, I must say. "The first contract. Please assign your name as you see fit." (???) My name...huh...I lost my memory (or probably data in my case) so I am unsure as to what name should I come up with.Preferrably I''d like a name that has a connection to my current self.Again, I found myself rubbing my chin with two fingers trying to think of a name to come up with. Man, I sure have brought this habit from that place. Actually, calling myself A.I. would seriously be weird I bet, so I guess I''ll just use Data. "I will go with the name.... Data." (???) "Data is it then. Are you sure?" (Revita) "Yes, I am." (???) "Affirmative. Your name is now Data." At the same time those words left her lips, I noticed that the interface within her hand are shining with a quite dim , yet warm-looking light. Staring closely, I noticed that the name ''Data'' is embedded within that interface. Ah, so that is actually sort of like an ''Identification Card¡¯? Well that''s pretty interesting to know. The interface she held now stopped emitting light, so I''m guessing it¡¯s done. "The first contract is now complete, moving on." (Revita) Revita then closed her palms once again, and slowly opened, revealing an orb. Wow, the developers sure know how to make a game really long and interesting. I lost my memory, but I can probably say it¡¯s a safe bet to guess that all the games I had seen in the past never had something as complicated as this one. "The second contract. Please choose 1 of the 5 starting classes as yours. Do note that you may change classes as you step further into the game and each initial class has its advantage, so please take your time to consider this carefully." Warrior
Best in close combat and sword mastery, they are known to be good in both tanking and attacking, thus providing a good balance in between while capable of providing cover for their party members. A warrior should avoid taking on range-attack type class alone as it is extremely ineffective. - Initial Status Bonus - Strength +10 Vitality 5+
Mage
Master of spells, they possess an infinite number of skills that can inflict heavy damage upon the enemies be it a single target or the whole area itself. Archer
Known to possess most DPS (Damage per Second) of all with their attacking speed and critical rate, they are a valuable asset to the team and should not be looked down upon. Thief
Mischievous little tricksters who utilizes mainly tools of various kinds in order to achieve their goal, often being a dagger, poisoned knife and such. Priest
Servants of the light, they are mainly tasked of treating a deep and serious wound which would usually take months to heal, in a matter of minutes with the power bestowed upon them. Being mostly on the supportive side, they lack the offensive powers to attack enemies however. - Initial Status Bonus - Intelligence +10 Faith +5
Well, I guess you can''t expect much from the starting classes of every game. Still, I do not prefer being too close to the enemy, so I''ll leave the warrior and thief out of my selection. Although the archer and priest descriptions sound nice, I''d prefer playing by myself rather than being invited to a party, at most of the time that is. I also do not want to be in a situation of like "HEAL HEAL HEAL LOL HEAL HEAL LOL HEAL WTFUQ " so I guess that only leave me the mage as a choice. Even if they are fragile and probably not the best choice of a solo player, but it probably won''t be much of a matter if I incinerated the enemy before they touched me first. I guess it''s decided then! "I''ll go with the Mage class." (??? = Data) "The Mage class is it? Very well." (Revita) This time again, I could feel the orb emitting a red pulsating light as changes are being made to it according to my choices. Waiting for her to be done, I simply sit on the hard floor since there wasn''t exactly any furniture in the room I could have sat myself on anyway. As I hummed a tune I don''t really know about, I looked around the room where it felt like a cube, truly. "Imagine someone with claustrophobia being placed in here, I wonder what would happen (*snicker*)." Silently, I laughed as the scene simulated in my mind. Things are supposedly going fine, until... *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* < WARNING ! WARNING ! UNKNOWN PROGRAM BREACHING SYSTEM DEFENSES ! > *BOOOOOMMMM* < ROOM DURABILITY 75%! > "Kyaaa!!" I can bet it''s probably because he thought I had done something to the girl, which I guess is called Nerai. "You little twerp! What did you do to Nerai?" (???) "Even after we''ve saved your life, this is what you do in return?!" (???) As he raised his hand and formed a fist, I knew he was going to punch me, but looking at his muscular body, I bet I''d either die or be sent flying through the window which is located behind my back. So with no other possible method to escape, I simply raised my arms instinctively to reduce the impact slightly, in hope that I''d survive the punch. Braced and ready, I was left with no other choice but to stare as his very hand began moving toward my direction in a frightening speed. I closed my eyes, just because I felt like I should. Thinking that the fist should have reached me by now, I am shocked to hear the sound of a wooden smashing and the breaking sound of a vase. Well that''s weird, I''m pretty sure I shouldn''t sound like that when getting hit. Slowly opening my eyes, I can see the figure of a child, standing in front of me with her both arms open wide and her body exactly within the fist''s trajectory. Now I realize that she is protecting me. "Father! He did not do anything; it was simply my fault for standing too near to him as he was having a nightmare." (Nerai) "But still, how do you explain the sounds that came out when he woke up?" (???) "As I have mentioned, due to me standing near to him, I was only within the range of his grasp, thus he woken up suddenly and surprising me while grabbing my hand. That¡¯s all." (Nerai) "Is that so? Hahahaha..." (???) "What an unlucky kid you are, almost getting killed by me under a false assumption." (???) Somehow that word strikes deeper than I thought. The word ''Unlucky''. "You should had told me the truth when you had the chance (*laughs*)." (???) "Like I could have done it, old man. You didn''t even give me a chance to speak." (Data) The old man continued to laugh loudly as he heard my statement, while Nerai beside her simply chuckled a little. Since I was so busy keeping myself alive, I didn''t notice the characteristics these two possess. The old man has a tail on his back, while Nerai have ears that hold resemblance with that of a fox''s ear. Truthfully told, it suited her alongside her yellow hair which is not so long, reaching only to her shoulders while wearing something that looks like a small red robe. The old man beside her on the other hand, is another story. His tail is jet-black in color, which pretty much is the same with his black shirt worn on his muscular body. He also appear to wear some sort of silver necklace, one you would usually see containing a picture in them. Oh, the old man stopped laughing. "Well anyway, let me introduce myself and my daughter to you." (???) "My name is Ramiv, a swordsman, obviously with my body like this." (??? = Ramiv) As he said it, he began flexing his body, only to fully disgust myself so much, I wish I wasn''t even born. Trying to avoid having to watch him doing, I took the initiative to ask. "So I believe Nerai is your daughter?" (Data) "Yes, however both of us does not possess the same trait, because she inherited her mother''s, thus there are always many people that doubt both of us being father and daughter, hahahaha!" (Ramiv) "Well yeah, I can understand that. Because even right now, I only see a little girl at the age of 8 being forced to follow some random old man." (Data) "No, it''s true that he is my father, even if we have different traits, both of us have the same blood running through our bodies! (Nerai) I can see Nerai combing her hair as she says that and her father''s eye is shining with happiness. (Revita) "Such titles are given so that it would provide the players better gameplay, while trying to make it as real as possible. Naturally, because this game is made to look like a real fantasy world, the NPC will treat systems, interfaces and such as if they were magic. This truly helps as they won''t be panicking if suddenly shown an interface they never had seen before." (Revita) "My name is Data, and I''m one of the Travelers (Players)." "WHAT?!" Ever since the destruction of that particular room, I recall falling into a void, but here I am, alive and well. What could have possibly occurred for me to actually survive such thing? As soon as they sat back, I resumed the conversation. "Can I ask how was I rescued in the first place?" (Data) "I cannot explain what had happened, but I was supposed to die..." (Data) "Well, you see, both Nerai and I are currently on our way to the Capital City of Shiva as both of us were returning from a mission we recently finished." (Ramiv) "The horse that I and my father rode on was, in a way, acting strangely as we approached this little abandoned house. Passing over the very house, the horse suddenly went mad and just began sprinting like crazy." (Nerai) "And so, thinking that there was no other way, I took the initiative to sever the rope that had tied our stuff to the horses and just allow it to run away." (Ramiv) "As we went into the house, I saw you, lying on the very same place you are sitting now, but unconscious with cloths that look so tattered, people would think you were a beggar." (Ramiv) And as the story continues on and on, I had noticed the surrounding have started to become dark. Night was rising but I did not care for that as I listened to the story, told by ones that had found me. Nerai fell asleep though, anyway, it appears that during the time they had found me, the area, mana, every single thing within my range was distorted and felt different than usual. After they began treating me, the effects were seemingly reduced as I slowly recovered. Then, another question rose. "If all that has to be done is healing me, why didn''t you use your magic?" (Data) NPCs are known to have a special capability of being able to disregard a skill''s class requirement as they are often does not possess a ''Class Orb''. In other word, they are free to learn every existing skills, depending on their capability of course. A major disadvantage to counter NPCs ability is that, they are not immortal. Once they die, then that''s it. You''re never going to see them again, unlike Travelers who can simply respawn. And yes, I decided to call it ''Class Orb'' since their purpose are simple which is allowing one to change classes. The classes that you obtain, depends on the type of spirit your ''Class Orb'' absorbs. Of course, it¡¯s not just any type of spirits. They are mainly kept by certain NPCs, while you also can kill monsters repetitively to be able to change classes by accumulating ''Monster Spirit¡¯. Let¡¯s just say that spirits in this world means EXP in a normal game world. They are a common item to be found being in possession within every single Travelers. On the other hand, NPCs that possess a ''Class Orb'' are known to be unique and special, counting only tens out of millions of NPC that was known to have one. You cannot destroy your ''Class Orb'', and it will return to you should you lose it accidentally. But sadly as it is, mine was destroyed during its creation... Anyway, back on topic where I asked on why did Nerai and Ramiv did not use their magic skills. "How about you try using your Analyze skill and see my mana and Nerai''s?" (Ramiv) "Huh? Why should I?" (Data) "Just do it if you want answers." (Ramiv) As directed, I began remembering the commands to activate skills, as taught by Revita. Then, came the goblin king. I was so pumped up and literally charged to him at an instant. The ending was anti-climatic though. THE GOBLIN KING DIED IN A SINGLE HIT FOR HEAVEN''S SAKE. Seriously, if we keep getting these kinds of missions, I''ll meet my end from the boredom they brought. (*sigh) No use fussing over it. Time to go home. Wait a minute, where''s Nerai? "Nerai, where are you?!" (Ramiv) I screamed thinking that she got lost while we were trying to get out of the cave; I looked around the entrance to find her but to no avail. Getting worried, I started to wander around searching for her. But then a voice was heard. "Fatherrrr, I''m over here. Look, isn''t this flower beautiful?" (Nerai) Turning around to see where she was, she is actually on top of a tree branch not far away from the cave entrance, fiddling with a blue flower that is on top of the branch. I released a sigh of relief, after realizing she wasn''t in any sort of danger, at least no worse than where she is right now. "Nerai, get down from there! I was so worried looking for you! If you get hurt, I''ll be the one to take the beating from your mother you know!" (Ramiv) Nerai''s mother, Lisa is often busy with her work, so Nerai usually hang around with me. I wouldn''t take her to this mission if possible, but she wanted to help me, I had no choice but to give in to her demands. Though I must say that if something were to happen to Nerai and Lisa knew about it, I probably have 0.1% chance of living to see the day of tomorrow. Lisa, being a descendant of Shrine Fox, she possess the attribute of a light and divination type magic. Within her household, she is considered as one of the most powerful mage compared to her siblings of the same class. Hahaha... I sure have married to the death itself. Anyway, it''s about time to for us to depart back to Shiva. Ensuring that all of our carriage is attached to the horse, I called Nerai. "Come now Nerai, it''s time for us to go home!" Along the way, the forest seemed fine and normal, and there were monsters, but that wasn''t much of a big problem with Nerai engaging them while I focused on navigating home. But... right now, the forest seems... too silent. There aren''t even any sign of life since 10 minutes ago. Not to mention, my body feel heavy and tired. What''s going on here? A low, puffing sound was heard from behind my back, and I knew it was Nerai. "Nerai, are you okay? You sound exhausted." (Ramiv) "I''m fine father, it''s just... this area of the forest is particularly strange. I can feel strength leaving my body..." (Nerai) "You''re right, something''s wrong about the forest. But that wasn''t the end of it. It suddenly began sprinting dangerously, almost causing Nerai to fall. Deciding that it was for the best, I told Nerai to dismount the horse. "Nerai! Something''s wrong with this horse, get off for now! It''s no longer safe to ride on it!" (Ramiv) "Yes father!" (Nerai) As soon as she heard my command, she jumped off the horse and went rolling, stopped by a tree in the process. At least she wasn''t badly hurt, and she can use magic to heal her selves anyway. As for me, I cutted the rope that bound the carriage with the horse, let it loose and drop off then dismounted the horse as soon as I can. "Oh go-" (Ramiv) *CRASH* "FATHER!" (Nerai) Dam, I was in a hurry to dismount the horse, I didn''t notice that I''d be embracing the tree when I did. Anyway, for now since we are safe, at the same time we are stranded inside this strange forest. Running to my side, Nerai used healing magic as soon as she could. "Thanks Nerai, for now, we better find a shelter." (Ramiv) "Shelter? Where can possibly there be a shelter within the forest, father?" (Nerai) "There is one, a small, abandoned-looking house, just right there." (Ramiv) Pointing my finger toward the small house, she turned around and saw it herself. For now, it''s better to stay inside it, since we have no choice. Camping out here would be more dangerous, given with the condition we are in momentarily. "This will have to do for now, let''s go then." (Ramiv) "I''m behind your back, father." (Nerai) As we approached the old small house, we have noticed that the front door wasn''t locked and was open. This could either mean someone is inside the house, or it was left open like this. But in this situation, the latter do not seem viable. Slowly and silently, I told Nerai to be prepared for anything that''s coming, and I myself, drew out my sword. As we went inside the house, for some reason, my body felt even heavier. It was then I realized the source that is causing the distortion within the forest is in here! Room by room we checked, until a very particular room at the very corner of the house. Ready for a battle and the same for Nerai behind my back, I opened the door and I had not expected what I was going to see. A boy, probably around the age of 10 years old, is lying down on the bed. Wearing something that looks like a white tattered robe, he also had a white hair. On both of his hand, he had something that that appears to be embedded in his skin, a colorless gem. "Hmmm...Analyzing skill activate, Target Analyzing : the boy, Priority Analyzing : Full Information." *ping*

Testing if the same thing will happen again, I slowly reached out my hand, in attempt to touch the boy. "Don''t bite me kid." (Ramiv) Thinking that yet another debuff will activate, I closed my eyes as I touched him, but then, nothing but a sound was all I heard. "Cure this boy you shall..." "Hurt this boy you fall..." Hearing that threatening voice, I subconsciously attempted to back-off but forgot I was sitting on a chair, so instead of successfully backing off, I fell on the floor on my back with the chair. As if turtle was flipped over, one might say. Hearing the sudden sound of me falling, Nerai came rushing over. "Father, are you all right? What happened?" Enjoying the breeze from the forest, I sat down on the ground infront of the house. "Huh..... so some debuffs still remains." (Ramiv) Without Nerai''s magic skills, we might have a little trouble travelling back to Shiva. I also noticed the surrounding area is slowly returning to normal, there are animals, monsters wandering around once again. As I was thinking about methods that may be used to help making this travel easier, I heard something from the room where the boy was in. "REVITAAAA!!" (The Boy in White) "Hiikkk!" (Nerai) Huh?! That voice, that was Nerai! That kid, what is he doing to her?! I tried to look for my sword, but soon enough find out it wasn''t with me, but instead is left in the room with the boy. Arghhh to hell with it, I have my strength back anyway! With all my might, I ran to the room where Neira and the boy was inside. "NERAI! WHAT''S WRONG?!" "Not possible, I have just recently set my foot on this place and I haven''t executed any training just yet, nor do I have read a book or taught by someone. One might ask, why are we sleeping on the floor when there is couple of other rooms in this small house? Well, the answer is simple. Who, in their right mind would sleep alone, considering the threat that the surrounding area pose? As such, we decided to stay together in a room. In the event of something happening to someone, the others'' can respond fairly quickly. Hm, thinking back... wasn''t there something that can be used in order to teleport ourselves to a town or city? What was it again? Ungghh, it was... it was... AH YES! The ''Recall'' scroll, which is given to every new Travelers as a gift to help them at the beginning of their adventures! Without wasting any time, I activated one of the basic commands, taught to me by Revita. "Inventory Menu." (Data) "Kid what are you up to now? Just go to sleep and rest." (Ramiv) Ignoring the old man, I uttered the words. The ''Inventory'' interface quickly appeared into view, revealing what I possess momentarily. Though, it''s empty at the moment except for a stack of single item within it ; the ''Recall'' scroll. I then proceeded to take it out of the inventory. With the ''Recall'' scroll in my hand, I called out to Ramiv. "Hey Ramiv! Here, this should help you travel to Shiva instantly." (Data) "Hm...? There is no convenient things such as-(* turns his head to Data*) ... a ''Recall'' scroll?!" (Ramiv) Huh? That''s a weird reaction. He is supposed to be grateful, but he displayed the face of a surprised one instead. It''s as if possessing a ''Recall'' scroll is a rare occasion among the People of The Lands. "Well, yeah. Something wrong with it?" (Data) "Something wrong?! Kid, the thing you''re holding right now usually takes a month''s worth of monster slaughtering in order to get the money to buy it. And you actually have 5 of them!" (Ramiv) What?! Wow, I didn''t expect the ''Recall'' scroll actually cost that much effort to obtain. Well, it''s not like I can sell it anyway, because these are soul bounded to me. Soul bound''s term depends on the type of thing it''s on. If they are on an equipment, it means the equipment cannot be sold or used by others and cannot be disposed of. If a boss carries equipment that is soul bounded to the boss, it will perish as soon as the boss falls. On the other hand, soul bound on items also make them unsellable but can be used by others, should the owner permit them. Depending on the item, we may or may not be able to throw it away. Anyhow, Ramiv is checking the ''Recall'' scroll right now, probably to confirm if it''s the real deal or not. "It''s the real one! Kid, where did you get a hold of these scrolls?" (Ramiv) "In a way, it''s actually gifts given to us new Travelers to make traveling between around cities a lot faster, at least for 5 times that is." (Data) "Quite the wealthy organization you got there, eh?" (Ramiv) Being unable to make a comeback to that, I simply had to laugh since that it is true in some ways. Now then, one might think that, why didn''t I just use it myself in the first place? The answer is, as the name implies, the ''Recall'' scroll only allow you to teleport back to cities that you have visited before. As such, for someone as myself who have yet to visit even one city, the ''Recall'' scroll won''t work for me. But it will, for Ramiv and Neira who lived in the Capital City of Shiva. Fortunately, one ''Recall'' scroll can teleport up to 5 people at the same time. So although it feels a little of a waste, getting back to Shiva safely is our first priority, even more with Nerai and Ramiv is currently under a debuff effect. Well, it''s my fault, of course. Then one last question came from Ramiv, who have seemed to put the fact that I possess 5 ''Recall'' scroll aside. Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Slowly, I started to lose against the fatigue accumulated due to gaining so much new information today and in the end, slept. Before that happened, a faint voice in the distant was heard. Volume 1 Chapter 6 Capital City of Shiva [ The next day... ] (*Wakes up*) Hnnghh... man, I wonder when was the last time I had such a good night sleep. I could barely hold myself from continuing sleeping. But I can''t since Ramiv and even Nerai had already woken up. "Oh, you''re up, kid." (Ramiv) "Good morning, Data (*smile*)." (Nerai) Rubbing my eyes, I replied to them in a low tone voice. "Morning, you two." (Data) Hmm? Something feels... different. My body feels as light as feather. I also feel like... I am forgetting something from last night. Wait a minute... I''m pretty sure that the gems on my hands were colorless before. But now, the gem on my right hand is white, while the one on my left hand is black. Additionally, I can feel that they are resonating with each other unlike before where it is as if they were... sleeping. "Hey kid. Get yourself over here and help us pack up our stuff into the bags. We''re leaving soon." (Ramiv) Rising my hand as a signal that I''ll be joining them soon, they resumed their activities. (Ramiv) Pointing his finger to the floor telling us to come over there, he holds the ''Recall'' scroll I gave him in his left hand. Slowly, I walked toward him while Nerai just sprinted there. Well, I guess it''s time to see how does this Shiva city looks like. "Ok now, listen carefully. I''ll be teleporting all of us near the entrance to the Capital City of Shiva so make sure you don''t do anything stupid when you are over there. And I''m talking about you, kid." (Ramiv) "I can understand that. But why don''t you just teleport inside the city instead of doing so much of a trouble as to teleporting all of us outside instead?" Shiva is covered with a magic barrier that is specifically made to resist impacts from the outside in order to ensure that the civilians within does not get injured. " (Ramiv) "This very barrier also prevents anyone to directly teleport inside the city, thus we can only teleport near the entrance." (Ramiv) "I see, well I''d probably do the same if I had ruled over a city." (Data) "Hahaha, dream on boy. Anyway, I''ll be using the ''Recall'' scroll now, so be prepared." (Ramiv) I wonder, how does one use the ''Recall'' scroll? Ramiv doesn''t seem to be opening the scroll any time sooner and since I never really had the chance to use it before, I''m quite curious at the moment. With an intense stare, I watched Ramiv''s every movement as to not miss any of its display. Noticing my curious stare, he said "Actually acting like a kid of your age eh? I guess you do have a cute side to you after all." (Ramiv) "Erghhh...shut it old man. Just hurry up and do it." (Data) "Haha, watch closely kid. Blink, and you''ll miss it. Nerai, you ready?" (Ramiv) "Yes father!" (Nerai) After finishing his sentence, I noticed the ''Recall'' scroll started to emit a faint green light, seems like he imbued his life force to the scroll. Then, he suddenly threw up in the air... and it''s hovering! Following up with the throw, to my surprise, Nerai started chanting some words. "Within my memory, holds the best of our dearest requests! With your power, return us to where we seek to be, Recall!" (Nerai) The moment she stopped chanting, the thin rope that had the scroll tied, shattered into nothingness. The scroll, where it is now open, began expanding towards the ground and closed beneath our feet, shaping of what it may seem like a sphere from the outside. Naturally, Ramiv and Nerai''s bags are brought along. For a moment right then, I had felt as if the mana within the surrounding area had changed drastically. A few seconds later, the wall of paper within us suddenly retracted to the ground beneath us, and in the end, turned into ashes. Well... honestly it was a little bit anti-climatic, when looking back at how extravagant the way they had to activate the scroll. Regardless, it appears now that instead of being inside the small house, we are now near the entrance to the Capital City of Shiva. Behind my back, was the forest that had extended to as far as the eye can see. Coming out of the forests, was the ground path probably used by carriage with horses which leads to the city''s entrance, with no single trace of grass growing on it. Such a contrast, as the ground surrounding the path is filled with such healthy looking grasses. At my front, on the other hand, lies the gigantic walls that surround the city. Many people seems to be lining up to get inside Shiva and are in such a hurry. Looking closely, I can see that there are both Travelers and People of The Lands in the line. I also have noticed that there are a few knights checking bags and carriages from the peoples that''s lining up. I''m betting it''s a security check for a reason, most of the time for a thief being loose, or a wanted criminal is seen wandering within the range of Shiva''s vicinity. After a few minutes of lining up, it is finally our turn to enter the city. Passing every security check like it''s nothing, we are almost entering the city until the last stage of security check. The knights there have been staring at me for quite a while for as long as I can remember as we made our way through the place, until one of them stopped us in our track. "Hold it right there. That kid right there, come here." (Knight with a red crest) Huh? Is he calling out to me? Oh man, I guess not every sailing can always go so smoothly. Slowly, I turned to face the knight, went out of line and approached him. Taking a deep a breath, I calmed myself down from the unknown pressure. "I don''t think I have ever seen your face before. I had been tasked to guard forts, cities and various other places within this region, yet I don''t recall having spotted you before." (Knight with a red crest) "Not to mention, it may be subtle, but I can feel a considerably peculiar aura coming from you. Now, state your name and your business here." (Knight with a red crest) Tch, he''s sharper than he looks. I don''t know who he is, but I might want to plan out my steps carefully in the future if I am to meet him again. Now then, to answer him. "My name is Data and I am a Traveler. In the past, I had been held back from venturing out to the vast world due to certain personal issues. However, today I was saved by two peoples, and thus I am momentarily accompanying them." (Data) "I cannot comprehend as to what made you believe that I''d be producing such aura, but heed my words. I am nothing but simply a passerby, for I am weak and fragile." (Data) "A mere kid possessing such high conversing skill capability? Surely you cannot expect me to buy that,do you? But to confirm if you are telling nothing but truth, allow me to analyze you." (Knight with a red crest) "I have nothing to hide, thus I am not afraid. Please, go on and analyze me." (Data) It''s not like he can analyze me anyway, so I better get ready to run for it once he does. Looking around to find escape routes, I began focusing some of my mana into my legs. I don''t know how, but ever since last night''s sleep, I have been able to take control of my mana and slowly began to master performing tricks with it. Looks like the knight is getting ready to analyze me. Time to get into position. "Activate Analyzing skill. Target Analyzing : Data. Priority Analyzing : Full Information." ...What?! How''s that possible? Shoot, what now? I didn''t expect this situation to actually come where I can actually be analyzed. I hope there isn''t anything weird in my window stats. Standing still in front of the knight, I was simply waiting for his answer. Wait, now that I think about it, where is Nerai and Ramiv? Checking around,the surrounding was filled with crowds due to the commotion of me being asked questions by the knight and me for having quite the bizarre attitudes unbefitting the age of a 12 years old kid. Suddenly, a familiar face popped up between the crowds of unknown peoples jumbled between the People of The Lands and the Travelers. Just in the nick of time, I''d say. "I''m sorry, but this kid is with me. Is there any problem?" (Ramiv) "You are the father of that child? Well you see,there is a fe-..... wait, that voice..." (Knight with a red crest) Hearing Ramiv''s voice, he turned around as soon as possible and then made a shocked face. It seems like these guys knows each other? "Oh hey! I remember you, aren''t you one of the newbies back in a certain mercenary camp where I used to be the instructor? Hm... what was the name again..." (Ramiv) "It''s Trevor, sir! It is truly a pleasure to meet you again after some time!" (Knight with a red crest = Trevor) "Yeah, the same to me. Hahaha, look at you, used to be a snotty brat back in the camp, but now a leading captain knight eh? Not bad, I''d say so myself." (Ramiv) "Not at all sir! It''s just, I''m seriously getting tired hanging around here. The crowd had dissipated a long time ago since the tension in the air was cooling down after the appearance of Ramiv. And it''s night time already, just how long do these two want to keep up their conversations?! No longer being able to hold out any longer, I poked Ramiv''s body in a hope of a response and turning his attention to me, and seems like it was a success. "Old man, I''m tired already being here. Let''s go back already. Speaking of which, where is Nerai?" (Data) "Oh sorry, Nerai is back home since some time ago when you got split from us. And sure, why not? Let''s go." (Ramiv) ¡°Sorry Trevor, seems like he can¡¯t stand being here any longer. I recall you had some business with him. What was it about?¡± (Ramiv) "About that... actually, I''ll call you later to talk about it. For now, he seems exhausted, so I''ll let him off the hook for now." (Trevor) "Hahaha thanks. Thinking of future adventures, if I cannot even fare well against obstacles like these, how am I going to survive in this world? Living in that void space sure took its toll on my mentality. And as always, advices, criticizing, suggestions etc. are welcomed as usual. Chapter 7 - Unintentional Oblivion Volume 1 Chapter 7 Unintentional Oblivion *chirp* *chirp* (Birds) ....uh? Is that the sound of birds? I didn''t expect that normal birds would actually exist in this world. Other than that, seems like its morning already. Time to get out of the bed, I guess. ...Huh? I... I can''t move... my body feels heavy for some reason. I am covered with a blanket that is quite big proportional to my body size, which is so big that if I am to use it as a parachute, it will actually work. But for now, thanks to the blanket I couldn''t discover the external force outside the blanket that is forcing me down. Slowly, I tried wriggling out of the blanket. Reaching the top, I popped out my head and began surveying the surrounding. As I am about to turn my head around, I heard a laughter behind my back. "Ufufufu, are you awake now little boy?" (???) "Struggling yourself out of the blanket, how cute." (???) Seems like she was the one that stopped me from getting up by keeping her hands on the blanket but that is nothing of the matter currently. Her laughter had sent chills down my very spine. Instantly, I knew that this person is dangerous and probably have enough power to kill me. Turning myself around to take a look, what came into my view was a woman who appears to be in her 20''s. Additionally, I also noticed that she possess the same trait as Nerai''s, but her presence was so different that the thought of them being mother and daughter were completely washed aside. Her fox ear and her hair seems to share the same color, I guess it''s like a special trait for those under the fox bloodline. This woman have a slightly yellow and orange hair color or to be precise, blonde. But the most important thing for now is that I need to analyze her and consider if she is a possible threat or not. At this moment, I guess I''d probably look like a little cat that is aware of an unfamiliar presence, with the exception that only my head is sticking out instead of the whole main body. Putting that aside, as I was about to begin analyzing her, she spoke. "No need to be so alerted of me, little boy." (???) "My name is Lisa, wife of Ramiv and the mother of Nerai, both of those two that you had been with for the past few days." (??? = Lisa) Huh? This is Nerai''s mother? But Ramiv had never told me directly about his wife, nor how do she looks like. As such, I cannot accept such statement being shoved into me without first confirming its authenticity. In a quite irritated voice, I retorted to her claim. "Lies. You don''t have the same presence that Nerai gives off." (Data) "Fufufu, deny it if you want boy, but know this. You have piqued my interest, little one. As such, without further ado, I shall make you mine." (Lisa) It is then that I have detected the shifting changes of the mana flow within the room and realize that they are being focused on one point, Lisa''s hand. Momentarily, she is in front of me in point blank range with her hand forming to look like a snake''s head. I have to gain some distance from her first, to ensure my safety. Slowly, I begin accumulating mana just below my feet while trying to simulate as to how and where she is going to strike me down. But before I even have the chance to start, she has already started initiating her attacks. "Here I come, boy! See if you can protect yourself from this!" (Lisa) With that warning firsthand, her hand then begin moving so fast that I am even barely managing myself to catch the sight of its movement. And realizing almost too late, her target was my heart! Unable to first calibrate the strength of the mana below my feet, I hastily commanded it to burst so that I can avoid the attack. The burst then propelled me like a rocket would. Except this time, the mana density was way too high, that I literally went flying out of the bed even with Lisa gripping me down, and got slammed into the walls in the process. *WHAM* "Arghh!" (Data) Urgh, that hurts a lot. But without wasting even a second, I once again focused my attention upon my surroundings. In the event that woman had moved from the bed, I can at least predict her next attack, thus allowing me the chance to attempt evading once more. But to my surprise, she was instead simply sitting in the bed instead of lying down like before. Looking closely, she seemed as if trying to hold back her laugh while one of her hands was literally inside the bed. What...? Was I only being teased all along? Well now that if I consider about it, I never really felt any murderous intents oozing out from her. Not even the slightest feeling of it. Attempting to stand up, I ended up falling back thanks to the sudden pressure that my legs received due to the condensed mana bursting below it, causing it to become as weak as a toddler''s leg. Temporarily that is. Suddenly, instead of hearing her voice coming from on top of the bed while I am checking my legs, I can hear it as if she is beside me. Hold on, she IS beside me! Teleportation, I am guessing. "Now, if you will allow me... up you go!" (Lisa) "Wah! Let me down!" (Data) "Hehe... sorry little boy. You are Data, aren''t you? I''ve heard the story from my husband on how you placed quite the powerful debuff onto him and my little daughter." (Lisa) Giving up on any effort to retaliate towards her action of carrying me, I replied with a little hint of apologetic feeling. "Yes, I did. As such, I was accompanying them in order to help them expel the debuffs." (Data) "There is no need for that, not anymore." (Lisa) "Huh? What do you mean?" (Data) Looking up to gaze her face while being carried, I pondered about on the meaning of that sentence. Witnessing my childish act, I can see is chuckling a little. ?....?! What..... what''s going on?! Why is she hugging me? I wriggled around within her arms as a sign of refusal to her actions, but the only answer that I received afterwards was more pressure from the hug. "Urk... Lisa... please, it hurts!" (Data) "Oh, my bad. You were so cute that I couldn''t refrain myself from hugging you (*smile*)." (Lisa) "Please hold on a little, Data. We''re going down the stairs now." (Lisa) Slowly, she began descending the stairs as I was still being carried by her. It has been a while, but I noticed that some foreign mana of unknown origin, probably from Lisa has been coursing inside me, constantly getting in and out. It would appear that they are slowly healing my body by sucking in the irregular mana within me that pretty much represents pain and injury. Of course, they only consume the irregular parts of the mana and leave the mana itself alone, because if it did not, it would only be called mana draining then. "Lisa, are you healing me?" (Data) "Yes I am. Right now, Ramiv and Nerai are out claiming their rewards from the Guild Headquarters for their mission and will probably be wandering around the city for a bit. So now is the perfect time for us to talk about something." (Lisa) "But in order to ensure that goes efficiently, I need to ensure you are in your best condition. Ah, I''m done healing you, so you can stand on your own now. Sorry for carrying you around without permission. Well, I had fun though, ufufufufu. " (Lisa) I have fully recovered? Ah seems so. I can stand on my own again, and my body doesn''t scream of any sort of previous pain before. Now then, to get to the main point. "Thanks for the help. So what did you want to discuss about?" (Data) "My, my. Impatient aren''t you? I guess that you haven''t taken a bath for some time so I suggest you prioritize that first. I have warmed the bath for you before you woke up, so please do help yourself. The bathroom is just over there. Take your time, won''t you? Fufu.." (Lisa) Feeling a little bit creepy from that sinister laugh, I have no choice but accept her hospitality. Oh, wait a minute. I don''t have any changes of cloth so what do I wear once I''m done? With that in mind, I ran back to Lisa who was going upstairs. *pull* *pull* "Hmm? Oh, what is this? Don''t tell me you want to take bath with me together do you?" (Lisa) "Of-of course not! I just want to ask, what am I supposed to wear after I''m done bathing? Because I did not brought any changes of cloths with me at all." (Data) "Oh about that. I have prepared your cloths in advance, so please, don''t worry about it and just enjoy the bath. You can find the cloths in the basket by the entrance to the bath tub." (Data) "Okay, thanks." (Data) After receiving my answer to the question, I quickly ran back to the bathroom to check out on the cloths she prepared for me. It was the same of the color as my starting robe, but had additional stuff, such as a hood for covering above my head and also considerably reinforced materials that appears to support while helping to control mana flow better.Hmm... I don''t feel good but I feel like Lisa is intensely staring at me, but as I turned to look around, she was already gone. Oh well, time to enjoy the bath. But first and foremost, I better only take off my gloves inside the bathtub room before entering the tub. Some secrets should just be kept secrets, after all. Now stark naked, I slowly entered the bathtub room. I wondered on how does water in this world get heated but as I took a dip, I understood. The water was heated with heat based magic of the weakest ones, because if a strong one was used, it would just evaporate in the end. It''s faint, but I can sense Lisa''s mana within the tub. I don''t know why, but I feel insecure with her mana covering my body so in the end, I override the mana within the tub with my own, as slowly as possible since I didn''t know what will happen if I went too fast, not that I want to experience it, regardless. While in the tub, the white gem on my right hand appears to be emitting a light that feels so nice and yet, so weak. For a while now, I wonder what these two gems really do since they have been staying on my hand for some time now. I should try re-analyzing these two once more later, since I never had the chance to do it when it turned into black and white. ..... ..... ..... ..... Ahh... it has been awhile since I took a bath, or eternity if I were to consider the time I spent inside that void space. As I made my ways out, I wiped off the excess water off my body with a towel, took the cloths or robe to be precise in the basket, and wore them. It felt a little more comfortable and a little lighter. Furthermore, I can feel that my mana flow has improved and can be controlled better. I think I should start venturing out the world, I have been doing nothing for quite some time. And it''s about time I see the world that I am about to live in the future with my own eyes. Additionally, I have been relying on these people for a long time already, it''s about time for me to be independent if I were to survive in this world alone, by myself. Well then, time to get out of the bathroom, I sure took my time right there. I wonder what had Lisa been doing while I was in the bath. (Revita) "Oomfph!" (Data) "Ehh... you''re making me jealous." (Lisa) Revita literally just came running to me and hugged me. What is this difference in act compared to how Lisa does in front of me when she exposed her identity? Putting that aside, I pushed Revita back as I needed to continue the conversation because this may hold some information that is crucial to my very existence in this world. "Wait, wait Revita... I know you''re happy and everything. But first, I need you to explain what do you mean when you said that there is exceptions about how a Traveler can be converted to a People of The Land." (Data) What does the game creator has anything to do with the current gems that are in my hand? Hm, if I were to meet that guy, I wonder will I get deleted for being a foreign program? (Data) "Well, as time passed by, those two began to hardly visit us, even if it''s in real life, nor in the game. Until one day, we received the news that those precious two had passed away due to an illness that had been with them since childhood." (Lisa) They... they passed away? Dam, I wish I had the chance to see such great persons that had made this world, for it allowed me a chance to escape from my boredom. They are deceased...huh... If there were graves in here and those two had their owns'', then it would be my pleasure to pay a respect and visit them. Then, another question arose from me. "Wait, if the creator themselves had died, then wouldn''t the game crumble due to no one are able to monitor the complex system running?" (Data) "Truly, that would have been the case. However, as if they had foreseen their death coming, they actually programmed the game firsthand before their death, which actually caused it to split its main processing servers into individual consoles and distributed it to the 7 GMs." (Lisa) "The individual consoles has its own unique commands, or to be precise, skill if said in the term of Mein Sof Online. With the console, comes the gem. And with it, the responsibility of taking care of the game." (Lisa) "But before the birth of the seven gems, existed two that had been with us since the beginning of the game. They were possessed by our twin game creator, Linh and Lanh. However, after their death, we had seen it no longer." (Lisa) The moment that she spoke that very sentence, the gems on the both of my hand suddenly emitted an aura, so faint that only I can feel. Is this... sadness? The gems are actually feeling such emotions? But why? Wait... no, it''s not possible. "Regardless of that entire event, we had no choice but to move on. In the end, we decided to split apart and lived in different regions." (Lisa) "Why split? Isn''t it better to actually stay and work together in order to increase the proficiency of being able to handle the game in much of a better way?" (Data) "That is false. We do it to ensure that we can focus on our work by ourselves more, and not to accidentally get in the way of each other''s work. That way, problems are less likely to procure as we won''t be intervened by each other, thus increasing the efficiency on handling the game indirectly." (Lisa) "Putting that aside, a year had passed since the death of our beloved Linh and Lanh. To be precise, it was actually around four days ago that marks it a year since the day they had left both this world and the real world." (Lisa) Wait a minute, four days ago? Isn''t that around the time when I had successfully hijack- errr.. enter the game? What a coincidence, I must say. But as much as I am concerned, the spearhead of the conversation came unexpectedly while I was thinking about the times during four days ago. "And today, the very same gems that once made Linh and Lanh''s hands their throne, have appeared in front of me." (Lisa) "Huh? No wait. Are you saying that the gems that had disappeared alongside the twin creator, is actually these two? Hahaha, you must be joking right?" (Data) "Do I look like I''m joking?" (Lisa) The instance I heard that, I can feel an aura slowly creeping up to me. Looking at Lisa, she was pretty much staring at me with the intensity that was so high, it literally feels like it burst through my very soul. Instinctively, I just began looking down instead, like a kid avoiding her mother''s petty nagging. In hope that she would stop doing it, I replied to her in a submissive voice. "Sorry... I wasn''t taking things too seriously." (Data) With that sentence, the once intense glare just simply perished and I was instead, shocked with a familiar surrounding pressure. Oh shit, not another hug! Gah gah, I once more tried to release myself from her lock, but to no avail. "Awww... I''m sorry Data. I didn''t mean to scare you, I just wanted to imply how serious I was during the conversation." (Lisa) .... Well, at least I won''t be experiencing that piercing stare again, so I guess I''ll just put up with this act of hers for now. Gently holding her arms while being hugged, I said "It''s fine, Lisa.. it was my own fault in the first place anyway." (Data) It was then that she released me from her hugs and returned on track about the topic. Gently, I hitted my robe to straighten the crumpled parts that appeared when I was being hugged by her. Watching my act, Lisa chuckled. Soon enough, the robe was once again neat-looking. Next, I just simply watched as Lisa sat back on the sofa. Hold on. REVITA IS SLEEPING?! After calming down, did she just literally doze off? Oh gosh, the way she can act while being under such situations is amazing in a way. Well, I guess I''ll leave that aside for now. "As important as it gets to actually capture you and ensure that you can''t do anything to the game, I think it''ll do to let you roam freely, so long as you do not cause major problem, ok? Actually, it''s not like you can do much at the moment as the Twin gems are still in their infancy form." (Lisa) "Simply be careful of other players, or Travelers in other word. This is because a rumor can spread as fast as fire. Just an advice to ensure that you do not attract too much attention to yourselves." (Lisa) "Oh, I thought I was going to be stripped off my freedom as soon as you knew that I hold such thing within my hands. Why will you do this?" (Data) "That would be funny as it is equivalent to killing a demon lord that is yet to actually wreak havoc. In other word, to put it simple is that you don''t appear to pose hostility towards the game itself, nor have you actually done anything that would affect this world." (Data) Finishing with displaying my gratitude, I stood up and bowed as another sign of thanks with respect. "It''s no problem. Never have I seen an A.I. to actually intrude this game just for the purpose of killing their boredom. Well now then, before you leave, allow me to gift yet another present." (Lisa) "Huh? It''s not like she''s getting anything back in return anyway. And it''s starting to feel bad as I won''t be able to repay her kindness as soon as possible in this form. "Ufufu, not to worry my boy. (Lisa) With that being said, Lisa started to push Revita gently in order to wake her up from her peaceful rest. Though to me this scene looks like a mother and her daughter even if I can''t imagine Nerai being in the same position as Revita. Soon enough, Revita finally lost against the constant soft push and yet annoying. "Hnngrh... what is it?" (Revita) Rubbing her eyes, she displayed the face of a confused one as she was forcefully pulled out of her sleep. Yeah, I definitely can''t imagine Nerai being like her. Now that you mention it, I should probably say a few word of thanks and farewell to them before leaving for my adventure. "What do you mean what is it? Data is already leaving, you know. Do what you needed to do to him." (Lisa) "Ehhhh..? So soon? We didn''t even talk much yet..." (Revita) Slowly, her face started turning from confusion into sad face. Well, it''s natural I guess since it has been a few days that has flew by since the incident in ''Character Creation'' sequences. "It''s your fault really for falling off to sleep. "WHAAAAAAAAATTTT??" (Data) OH MAN I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW HAPPY I AM! The reason I''m feeling such emotion is because these past few days I wasn''t actually capable of viewing my own status window. I deducted that the cause was probably when I was falling within the void where a part of my data got corrupted and became unreadable. It got me so frustrated since I didn''t know about my own stats, skills and everything else there is that is possible for me to know. When Ramiv got the chance to analyze me, turns out it just disappointed me greatly when I find out that his skill got negated for unknown reason. During the time with the knight guy, Trevor on the other hand, the situation wasn''t actually suitable for me to just literally jump behind his back and watch my own status window. That would be awkward to be honest. As such, I had simply held back since then and wanted to accept it being something taken for granted so that I can just move on. But now, to hell with all of that! I finally got my ''Status Window''! "Wow, you seem happy to receive that, despite the fact that you were so against of the decision on giving it to you before (*snicker*)." (Lisa) "Of course I am! If I didn''t have a status window, I am destined to fall back hundred steps behind from the rest of the Travelers and People of The Lands!" (Data) Without realizing it, I just hugged Revita as I was indebted to her for fixing my status window. It may seem blatantly normal and taken for granted for most of the peoples, but without a status window, my life in this game would be a living hell. Literally and figuratively, yes. Hm? Oh she''s blushing. I guess I had overdone it. "You are seriously making me jealous, Revita. Data doesn''t even do that to me though I helped him a lot in many ways." (Lisa) "Whoops, sorry Revita. Guess I had gone a little overboard." (Data) Soon enough, I released her from my grasp as I said it. Wait, now that I think about it, did everything got taller? Lisa, Revita and even my surroundings. (Lisa) Regardless, it''s about time I take my leave. It''s already afternoon, so I should find an Inn as my future temporary base, since I plan to work around alone for a bit. Now then, it''s time to bid Lisa and Revita good byes. Although eccentric and hard to handle, both of them have helped me out a lot with adjusting myself to this world and also some other stuffs. Especially my promise of freedom from Lisa, and my repaired Status Window from Revita. Pulling the hood on to cover my face, I needed to ensure that I do not get much attention to myself. Also, it appears that this robe is enchanted so that it would resize as my body changes in size. "Well, putting aside everything that has happened, I need to express my gratitude once more for helping with so many things. Without the both of you, I will probably experience a lot more trouble than I can keep up with. As such, again, I give you my thanks." (Data) "No need for the thanks. I''m simply doing what I feel like I want to but do be careful on your adventures onward in the future won''t you? Other than that, good luck, my little boy." Hm, well the Mage Mastery and Mana Orb are common skills, maybe because they are given to players at the beginning of the game. Mana Control on the other hand, appears to be uncommon. It''s probably a skill that was created when I kept on constantly using my mana in weird ways such as trying to propel myself from Lisa, running away from Trevor and the simple mana overriding in the bath. But the normality stops there. After ''Mage Mastery'' skill, every skill that follows up later on are all ''Unique'' ranked, not to mention what''s up with the ''Installation'' skill which is pretty much everything unknown? To add on that, the ''System Override'' passive is pretty much making every skill that I have to be capable of being a broken skill leveling up. Jeez, these two gems are seriously spoiling me, I thought as I softly rubbed them with a cloth to keep them dust-free. Of course, I had to use the right hand to wipe the black one, and vice versa. Though to add things, they appear to really hate weapons, even refraining from using one except [Erebia Magus Glove] at that. While doing that, I looked around in the room that I was in and thought of how I was going advance in my future adventures. Playing in group sounds nice, but I dislike how they sometimes can bring trouble with the loot and stuff, not to mention the required teamwork to actually fully utilize the potentials of being a team party. Additionally, I have things to hide so being in a party just makes them harder to be done. Guess I''ll have to go solo for now then. With that in mind, I had nothing to do after thinking all that. In the end, I decided to go to sleep. Wait... I remember forgetting something crucial in the morning after I woke up during the time with Nerai and Ramiv. What can it possibly be? "Status Window. Type: Quests List." (Data) ...I REMEMBER NOW! The time before I fell asleep few days ago, I heard a voice that had identified itself as Link! If I recall correctly, the voice was vague and soft so I cannot make out the gender, but he/she was my twin. Huh, twin? Now that if I think about it, the voice did appear at night on the day after I had regained consciousness. Can it be possible, that yet another program or to be precise, A.I. such as myself exists in this world? Could it be Link? No matter, this quest states that I have one year limit so I have plenty of time to get stronger while finding out his/her location before then. Huh... so this is a Title, huh. Although I kind of hate what it says, but it¡¯s not like I got anything better so I''ll just use it for now. Now then, I guess it''s time for me to sleep. Slowly, I got up from the chair and started to walk to my bed. Yawning while in the process, I dusted the bed and soon enough rested myself on it. I wonder what I will have as my first monster tomorrow? Regardless, I should get some rest first before heading out. After that, my consciousness slowly slipped away and in the end, I fell asleep. [???''s POV] In a slightly different space dimension... "Is he asleep?" (??? 1) "Looks like it." (??? 2) "Well that''s good. At least he can have a good night rest before he set out to start killing some monsters tomorrow." (??? 1) "Hah, if he were to die tomorrow it would bring both of us nothing but shame. We even lent him power from the [Command Central]." (??? 2) "What are you talking about? Lent? Those powers were his in the first place. It''s just he is yet to be capable of utilizing every single of them." (??? 1) In a slightly irritated manner, I batted off his comment as I considered it to be disrespectful to our master. How can he say that, when our wish were finally fulfilled? "Hmph. You''re wrong, only half of the powers were his. The other half belongs to Link. Making us wait for so long, Link is already not with us thanks to him." (??? 2) "CEASE YOUR INSOLENCE!" (??? 1) "Urk..." (??? 2) Urgh, I accidentally discharged some mana from being mad. Is he awake from it?.... Oh good he''s not. I really wouldn''t want to bring trouble to my owner, not after waiting for so long... Gradually, I retracted my mana because if I were to perform it rapidly, it will cause distortion to procure within the area. An example would be when Data was unconscious after being saved by Link. It may appear as if Crysting resent Data, but in actuality, she was the one who protected him when he was out cold and had used a big portion of her mana when she''s still weak after being recreated. I was yet to wake up during that time, due to the lack of mana in the surrounding thanks to Crysting, though. It was after Link appeared before Data for the last time we saw him, that I was finally able to break free of my own shackles when he negated Crysting''s barrier at the cost of Data''s safety. Well, he knew by doing that, both of us can certainly be brought back to the surface and with that alone, was enough to reassure him that Data would be safe with us in his presence. In any case, one may wonder. What made Crysting resent Data? The answer is simple. None. To be precise, she just lacked mana to control herself thus the resulting hate. On the other hand, if there was one time that I''d actually be low on mana to control myself... well, just wish so that it doesn''t happen. "Nonetheless, it is not Data''s fault. He just took that long in order to get ready to enter this world. And for Link, do not speak as if he is truly gone. For now, he is just... not him." (??? 1) "...I guess so. Sorry, I went out of control and just spurted random stuff." (??? 2 = Crysting) "It''s fine. Both of us becomes like that when our mana is low anyway, so you just need to rest for now." The reason why is because I had been involved in a national scrabble competition yesterday, and won 8th place out of 32 competitors :). Looking on the bright side, I have fulfilled my promise and finally revealed Data''s skills and his status window while adding a side POV as a little side dish.
