《Dungeon Siege》 Chapter 1 Death Azunai, a renowned adventurer, has lead many of his allies and comrades to victory. May it be a battle with the rival guilds or hunting monsters through out the Empire of Cyrene, and its neighboring countries and kingdoms. But most of all, conquering dungeons. Where riches awaits them at the end of the dungeon. Gold, gems, jewelries, items, artifacts. All of it, theirs if they''re able to defeat the dungeon. So far, Azunai and his comrades were able to conquer 8 dungeons. Not the best, but fair enough to earn him fame and renown from other dungeon crawlers. 19, the number of dungeons cleared and conquered by a single group or guild. Karl Franz, the guild master of Domitoren Lacum, leads the race for the top conqueror. Not that there is a race though. And the dungeons he and his guild conquered were not all walk in the park, they conquered a many pretty high threat dungeons. Aside from conquering this dungeons, they were also the ones to first discover it. Which had given Domitorem Lacum the advantage and made it the most prestigious and most renowned guild. Where many nobles tried to recruit Franz and his guild. But ultimately becoming a vassal of the Emperor of Cyrene, Gabriel Angelos XI Driven by his ambition, and perhaps envy, Azunai started conquering dungeons himself(no. not by "HIMSELF") with his group of friends of seven. First conquering low threat dungeons to gain some dungeon crawling experience to conquering normal threat dungeons. They were then invited to join the guild Lacum Venatores, and they all agreed to join. But their conquer of a high threat dungeon earned him fame and renown, and attention from other guilds nobles and especially, Karl Franz. When Karl Franz heard the news that there was an adventurer who conquered a high threat dungeon, it perked up his interest on this guy. He and some of his high ranking guild members are on their way to a newly discovered dungeon of one of their guild scouts. He sent for an invitation to Azunai if he would like to join them in conquering this new found dungeon. When Azunai got the invitation from Franz, he was ecstatic and immediately informed his friends and his guild master. His master did not like it though, and was adamant on letting Azunai go. But Azunai persist on going. "This may take a while master Sven, but I will be back for sure." Azunai asks for the permission of his master. "It''s not like they''re inviting me to join their guild, they are just inviting me to come and experience what it feels like conquering a dungeon with highly skilled allies." "So we, your guild, are not skilled enough to your liking?" Sven, the guild master got angry by what he had just heard. "Heard that men?! This guy here thinks he''s such a big boy now that he''s going to where the big boys are, at the big leagues. To only become their errand boy! Hahaahahahaha!" """HAHAHAHAHA""" and the guild burst into a fray of insulting laughs. But his friends did not, though they did not agree with Azunai either. Instead, they just did not say anything and just gave him a look of disappointment. "Go boy! It''s not like we cannot do anything without you. You''re not that big, you know?" as if the guild master had already made his decision. "So now you''re kicking me out of the guild?! This is ridiculous!" Azunai tried to protests. "I''m not one to blow my trumpet, but I could say that I have done so many things for this guild since we joined!" anger is boiling up at the ridiculousness of his master. Breaking their silence, his friend, Heinrich finally speaks. "But it''s not like you have done it yourself! Don''t get conceited Azunai, we always only chose you to be our party leader ''cause you always go and dive first and do much of the tanking. Without us you also wouldn''t be able to accomplish what you had today. And what you had, we already had enough of it." Adding fuel to the fire. His other friends joined Heinrich''s side and Sven. "Wha..what? You guys? Are you not my friends?" Devastated, he picked up the equipments he already packed and heads outside of the guild house without saying any other words. When he got out, one of his friends opened the window on the second floor and called out to him. "Hey! You forgot this!" he then threw a sack full of Azunai''s other belongings. Azunai picked it up and left without looking back. After three days ride on a horse, he made it to a small frontier village of the Cyrene Empire named Fenris. Karl Franz and his handful of men stayed the night here to wait for Azunai. He stated in the letter that they would wait for him for three days to arrive, and should he not come they would proceed with the hunt. And Azunai made it just on the first day of their wait. "So you are Azunai? Nice to meet you! I''m Karl Franz, and this are my men." Franz shaked hands with Azunai. And Azunai proceeds to shake hands with Franz''s men. "It''s an honor to meet you sir!" Azunai was overly excited upon meeting the great conqueror. "Yes yes, I know. Well since you are here already, shall we get going?" sounding arrogant, he suggested they start working. "Sure sir!" Azunai doesn''t seem to mind the arrogant attitude of Franz. Or he really is just overwhelmed. And so the group of 26 men moves out of the village and proceeds to the entrance of the supposed dungeon. "We''re here!" Notifying his guild and Azunai. "Alright men! Make yourselves ready! Last check on the equipments and supply! Make sure everything''s checked! Potions, rations, camping materials! Azunai! Make sure your blade''s sharpened, your shield! OKAY! STEEL YOURSELVES MEN! THIS MIGHT TAKE US QUITE A WHILE! LET''S GO! Good hunting everyone! Karl Franz made his speech and they entered the dungeon. Oh shit! This is really happening! I can''t believe it! Azunai is excited, as well as nervous. It''s not like it''s his first time, it''s just being able to hunt in a dungeon with the renowned Karl Franz is pretty nerve wracking in itself. As they made progress inside the dungeon, they are nearing its most bottom level. They are already at the 14th level/floor. They''ve already been inside the dungeon for almost three weeks now. It had taken them quite some time. Karl Franz never knew that this dungeon is much harder than it seemed it posed. There''s three more floors to go, and the Underlord''s room, on the last floor, is theirs for the taking. The dungeon core must be there, or should be there. And so far, there''re no casualties yet. Most of them only suffered minor injuries. "All clear!" the scout scanned the whole floor for the second time and reports to Karl Franz. "ALL CLEAR! MAKE CAMP!" then Franz ordered his fatigued men, also Azunai. As Karl Franz checked up on everybody, he eventually made his way to Azunai. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there."So? How are you doing so far? Enjoying the hunt?" he asked. "Yes sir!" Azunai answered as enthusiastic as he can but fatigue shows nonetheless. "Well, get some rest. We will rest here for a day. Then head down. Our scouts said there''s only three more floors left. So we''ll be needing your energy and fighting capabilities down there." Karl Franz then left for his tent. They camped on a big clearance just before the stares leading down the 15th floor. After a day''s rest, they set out for the final 2 floors before the boss floor. Along the way, they encountered a many more fiercer and more agressive monsters. These monsters did not let them have a rest. They lost 3 men, unfortunately one was a healer, which is crucial for their survivability down there. Upon reaching the stairs leading to the last floor, they set up camp again to prepare for the last battles. "Make camp! We''ll need to recuperate. Healers go fix those who are injured. Black smiths do repairs! And if you have some extra time, appraise some of our loots! We might be able to use them tomorrow. And the rest! Get some sleep!" Franz then handed his equipments to a smith to have them fixed or maintained. Then he got to his tent. "Do not disturb me. Unless there''re urgent matters." He then ordered one of his high ranking officer. "Yes sir!" replied the officer. "You! Take the first watch, and make sure to wake someone up to take the watch after you!" he then ordered one of the guild members. As they pack their camp, they had their meal. Who knows if it was breakfast or lunch or dinner. Nobdy cares. They all just want to finish up this dungeon hunt fast. Karl Franz took a stand and spoke to his men and Azunai. "Alright men! Be ready! I hope you all got some good sleep and rested well. Today, we finally conquer this dungeon! Gear up! Move out!" Upon their descend.. they encountered only two monsters. Two hulking giants, standing 3 meters tall, both of them. These giants wield spear and halberd. Karl Franz and his officers or personal guards took both of them on. The rest, including Azunai were told to back out the giants'' melee range. They only do ranged attacks. Azunai attacked with his siege crossbow. The rest of the Domitorem Lacum attacked with either magics spells or bow or crossbow. They defeated the guardians, the officers took the keys from the guardians. They then both put the keys to the keyholes at the same time. The keys unlocks two stone doors. These mighty doors had designs on them of a great giant wrecking havoc on cities and towns. Karl Franz pushed both doors open. There, the Underlord of the dungeon awaits them sitting on his throne in the middle. It stands and revealed a staggering giant of 5 meters tall. It picked up his mighty maul and roared then charged at them. Its roar shook the dungeon, and possibly the fears inside of Azunai and the members of Domitorem Lacum. But Franz and his officers seems not fazed at all. Franz advanced too. And the giant took the first strike, striking Franz. But Franz raised his shield, the Shield of the Agallans. The impact resounded and reverberated in the room. But the impact damage was absorb by the shield. And just like the strategy they have earlier, everybody except for Franz and his officers took the offensive on melee while the rest attacked at range. Little by little they whittle the giant away. And try to keep it at bay, away from the range attackers. as Franz''s shield could no longer take the damage, it was shattered. Forcing Franz to retreat a little. Giving the giant a chance to attack those pesky mages and wizards. Those of the unfortunate casters who are not fast enough to evade the maul of absolute destruction almost like disintegrated. Karl Franz dash towards the giant, jumped as high as the giant''s head then struck the giant square on the temple knocking it down with his famous warhammer, Warhammer of Zaramoth. And there, as soon as the giant fell, victory is at hand. One of his officers struck the neck of the giant while it lay unconscious on the ground, cutting its head. Everybody howled for victory. But they haven''t conquered the dungeon yet. The Dungeon Core has yet to be destroyed. But every adventurers knows that totally destroying the core would cause a cave in collapsing the dungeon. So for every adventurer, leaving the core intact or leaving just a small shard is the norm. But since dungeon core shards worth a lot of gold, the proceed to shatter the core which was fairly huge, maybe even the largest that they''ve all seen. "Break the core. Leave only a fist size." said Karl Franz. And his men started chipping at the core. But the core is so tough that the pickax they brought just couldn''t do enough damage to break it. So Franz had to step up and strike it with his warhammer. And sure enough, he broke the core and scattered hundreds of shards in all sizes possible. Leaving only a fist size that would support the dungeon. Azunai also picked up shards for himself as a reward. He''s also eyeing the treasure room which was just beside the room boss room. It had no doors, just open. So Azunai could see the treasures and many artifacts there. He was eyeing for specific artifact there. A sword. When Franz proceeded to distribute the treasures and items and artifacts, he gave his guild members first. And Azunai last. The sword that Azunai wants was never given to anyone so his excitement perked up. Karl Franz picked up the sword and unsheathed it. Admiring the sword, he called for Azunai. Azunai stepped forward. "This sword is amazing, isn''t it?" Franz asked Azunai, seeing the excitement in him like he was a kid receiving a toy he had wished for. "Yes sir. It is." Azunai mesmerized by the sword. His gaze follows wherever Franz wave it. Like being hypnotized. "Then this is yours." said Franz while showing a generous smile across his face. "REALLY?! THANK YOU SIR! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" if he''s just not suppressing himself, he would probably jumped for joy maniacally. His eyes were watering. "Then here, have it!" Franz thrust the sword in his stomach then pulling it out and thrusting it yet again 3 more times. "Wh---what? Augh... wh----why?" as he grab''s Franz shoulder and looking him in the eyes while tearing up. "Because I don''t like you, that''s all." Franz answered him casually as if nothing. Azunai fell on the dungeon floor... Looking at the rest of Domitorem Lacum as they haul the treasures. And he could hear them all laughing, especially Karl Franz. The laughter never died, it only drifted far away as the Domitorem Lacum leaves the boss room. "Bas----tards..." was his last words. Chapter 2 A New Hope As I lay there dying, waiting for the inevitable, I can see the glowing pulsating red light from what''s left of the core that "WE", me and my supposed comrade in this event, shattered and only left a desirable fist size Core Gem. -No. I''m not in the red light district, that''s for sure. ''Cause I''m fucking dying here. Hello! How I hope I really am just in the red light district. With all this "What the fuck just happened?" going through my head. I might just want to blow off some steam. -Kicked out of the guild whom I help improved a lot! Finding comfort with my supposedly new found "COMRADES" who''s just gonna cross me in the end. Not even letting me hold that awesome sword. Even just a touch I guess would be fine. I mean IT touched me, I didn''t touch it. And when it did TOUCHED me, I died. Fuck. -As my consciousness slowly started to fade. I heard a faint voice. Come here. -I tried to answer but, I can''t even open my mouth let alone answer the mysteriously over calming voice. I guess I''m being called to the heavens now. Yeah. That must be it. I mean, it or whatever he or she is don''t really need to call to me. No need to hurry bruh. But then it persist on calling me. Come here. . . . Come here. . . . Come here. . . . Come here. -Arhg! If I could just shout, I would tell him I can''t open my mouth. Wait, what? No, if I could shout... I''ll just let it all out. These are the things I can do without, come on! I''m talking to you, come on! No! No! Oh God no! P--please Azunai. Get a hold of yourself! Hey idiot! Here! I''m the core of this dungeon. Come here. I might be able to help you. -What? Currently, I am inside your head, I''m using my powers to invade your mind. And I''m hearing your thoughts. -Uhhh.... Really? How come I get to talk to a Dungeon Core? Enough questions! You''re running out of time! Do you really just want to disappear in this world without getting revenge on those who have wronged you? On your guild mates and your trusted friends who have thrown you out of the guild house which has become a home to you? What will you do huh? Suddenly, anger swelled up inside. I got the urge to get up and run and stomp all of them. I, I just want to rage! And with that in mind, I tried all my hardest to get up. But it was so hard. All I could do was crawl towards the core. And I made it near the core in about 6 minutes of crawling. "What............now?" I tried my hardest to speak at least. Take a hold of me. And so I did. But I felt nothing. -Soooo. I got tricked by a stone! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! As I screamed inside of my thought I heard rustling sound from a nearby shrubbery. I can''t recall there being small critters and some kind of plants here at the bottom. So I tried to exert for trying to open my eyes. But it seems there''s no need to exert force. It was actually effortless. -The outside seems to have change. I can now see the entrance to the dungeon and outside. But it seems different, I think I was moved to a different location. -But who? Is this an infirmary of the dungeon? I tried to look around but it''s empty. -Am I the only patient? No one''s around either. I tried to get up but I hovered overhead. -What the fuck? Wait. Where''s my body? What the fuck happened? Now another "What the fuck happened?" question has been added into my life. I inspected the cave I was in. No bodies. I concentrated and "closed" my eyes focus on where my body is. And I opened my eyes and was surprise to see a gem pulsating a black light. I immediately understood. It was a dungeon core. It dawned on me of what the voice said back then said. It said it was the core of the dungeon. I thought it was only joking. Well no, shit. My body is a finger nail size gem pulsating faint black light. And I''ve basically become a dungeon. Holy shit. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. -But why black? I still have no grasp of the possibilities of being a dungeon. I am just but a small cave for now. But for me to become a dungeon, I would need minions. Because dungeons needs monsters as its guardians. As for me, being no bigger than a small cave, I might be able to house a bear or two here. Yeah. -But how? How do I get minions? I mean, if I can I would invite them here. I would welcome them here. They would have roof over their heads and protection from harsh weathers, yeah? That''s a pretty good deal right? Give and take, I offer them a home and I would need them to protect me. From the unforgiving adventurers. What I really need right now is information. *DING!

(uh.. yeah. the table from the table editor is ugly as fuck so sorry guys, please bear with it.) -So all I need is to wait for creatures to come and stay at my dungeon then? Let''s see... After three hours of boring wait, finally, my first customer. A rat. It went inside me... No! Inside the cave. The cave which I kinda govern. I just let the critter stay for a while, to see if it would accommodate itself. I mean, I could forcefully corrupt its mind so that I would gain governance over this critter. Weeell. Another three hours had passed. I still haven''t seen a rise in number on my minions status. My influence seems kinda weak for now. But hey! Another rat came, it mingled with the first one. And yeah. They fucked. I mean they breed, here in my dungeon! Oh well, I could wait few more hours... After about 30 minutes, I think? These two rats left! What the fuck? Am I brothel or something? Fucking critters! I ought to crush them while they fuck if I could just do it. OH! I could just imagine my imaginary head with its veins popping out. I waited again, and waited. And waited some more. What I mean is a hundred more times. The frustration is real people. While I waited, there are many small critters that crawled inside my dungeon. Most were rats. And just like the first two rats, I''ve been used as a breeding ground by this scoundrels. They don''t even pay. They did actually, their deposits. Their deposits would then be disintegrated and be turned to miasma. Only small amounts though. I have now accumulated 179 miasma. And instead of just waiting for these rats to turn themselves in, I would now use force! And so it begins! Here comes a rat! I focused! Trying to forcefully influence the rat. It was success, it first started squiggling hard until finally! My first minion!

(so why lvl 2 skill already? cause it''s not like Hope ain''t doin'' nothin'' before he became a minion, right?) Well with that, I can now call myself a proper dungeon, at least. I tried to controll him, alas I cannot. All I could do is only kinda give directions and instructions. I still don''t know how being a dungeon is. I still need to know more. So I instructed Hope to stay inside. After a while. Two forest rats approached the entrance of my cave. The cave now seems to emit some ominous feeling towards the two rats just outside... Or waaaiit. Hope is kinda creepy right now, I can see it in his eyes, that lust. So that''s why that female rate is kinda trembling and the male rat got into a guarded stance. I can tell the gender of this rats now by the way. I mean, they used me as a brothel so yeah, I can tell the difference now. -Go. Do what you want Hope. Okay, so I gave hope permission to attack the male rat, but avoid killing it, and abduct the female rat. And he beat up the male forest rat. Since Hope became a dungeon rat he became a bit larger than the forest rat which made him more powerful than them. The female rat, I think it fell in love with Hope seeing ho easily he beat up the other rat. As for the other rat, I instructed hope to drag him inside. And then Hope and the female rat fucked. Hope also gained a level. The female rat and the male rat Hope had beat up joined the ranks of my only minion, Hope, cohesively. Which means I only spend 3 miasma each to convert them to my minions. When I forcefully corrupted Hope it costed me 5 miasma. Anyway, I now have three minions. Of course the other two rats became dungeon rats too just like Hope. But Hope is a unique monster now so he''s still stronger. The beaten up rat has fully recovered so I sent him outside. I can look outside now, through the rat. But doesn''t mean I have control. As I said, I can only give commands, shame. But oh well, at least the rat is obedient. I ordered it to go to where all the rats are. And so, as it can still remember, it followed a pathway as wide as two rats can fit. Pathway for rats? Maybe because of overuse it cleared up and created a road like system. Which made it easier for the rats to go to places, where they can scavenge for food, and back to their lair. The pathway led to a big dead old tree. The tree is probably hollowed. And there, the entrance to the lair. There were forest rats scurrying away and hiding. I instructed my minion to stop and not enter, then I instructed it to return but it just stood there, on his two feet, and started making a ruckus by making rat noises(obviously). Then one Forest Rat as big as him came out of the hollow tree. Whaaaat? Did my minion just challenge this forest rats? Did he just called out for their champion? Hahahahaha! Oh great! Imma call this dude Spartacus now.

Aaaaaaw. Tch. Well anyway, the duel is about to begin. And many forest rats started to gather around them. The large forest rat was the first to attack. And oh my God! My minion is getting beaten up yet again! What the hell is wrong with you Spartacus? Although I still can''t name him, I''ll just call him Spartacus. And if he survive this, I''ll have him and Hope duel each other to death. So that if Spartacus is able to win against Hope I can finally give him the name properly. But he has to win his current duel first. But come on! He''s getting beaten up! Why? So I checked his status.

O---k. Well that''s a problem then. So instead of just watching the duel, I helped my minion by giving advice and warnings. -Jump to left then attack! Watch out, dodge to the right! Come on! Bite that sunovabitch! Beat him up! And my guidance seemed to worked. He defeated the large forest rat! Hurrah! It also seemed Spartacus gained 3 levels from that duel. ***********************************Back at the cave**************************************************** Hope and the female dungeon rat is fucking, yet again. *******************************Back at the hollow tree************************************************* Spartacus'' front paws were stepping on the unconscious rat while making a ratty noise. I think he is giving a speech or something. After his noise *cough* ahem! speech the other rats moved close to him. He stepped away from the unconscious rat. I thought the others are gonna mob him. But they took the large rat, while Spartacus headed back to the cave. All the other rats followed him. They also drag the large rat. Oh shit! Things are going down! Mutiny! Hahahahaha. This is gonna be awe---some! ***********************************Back at the cave**************************************************** Oh yeah! While Spartacus was giving his speech, apparently Hope abducted, yet again, another female forest rat that was lingering just outside the cave. And then he started forcing himself on her. Then, finally! Spartacus. Spartacus and his newly found followers were at the entrance. They all entered the cave. Spartacus started making some rat noise while his followers keep quiet. While Spartacus was speaking, Hope is still doing the female fores rat he had just abducted. And when Spartacus finally finished speaking, Hope seemed to have finished also. Then he faced Spartacus. He was a tad bit bigger than Spartacus. But Spartacus doesn''t seemed fazed at all by his size. All the forest rats surrounded them both and started making noises. Seems to me like "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!". And so Spartacus and Hope squared each other. Hope attacked first! He charged at Spartacus. Anyway I am only watching this time, since this is "the strong eats the weak" kind of duel to death. Spartacus dodged then scratched Hoped as he missed his charge. Hopes back.. or butt I think was exposed, ok that sounds weird but I think you already know what I meant, so Spartacus took the offensive. Which shocked Hope since just earlier that day he beat him up good. What he didn''t know is that Spartacus gained 4 levels after his not so grueling duel with the forest rat. And the 2 level gap between them were that significant. Spartacus began overpowering Hope. Hope began to breath heavily. That''s why many boxers or fighters abstain from sex before fighting. I mean Hope is just arrogant and a douche. And if he is defeated and dead, then he just deserved it. Unlike Spartacus who''s challenging the hard only, not the impossible. And as their duel progressed some more, they now got scratch and bite marks all over their bodies and faces. Hope is still being overpowered but is still holding on. Until finally Spartacus bit his neck in the throat area and rips it. Blood started gushing. And Hope squiggling. Then Spartacus held him down with his front paws to hold him in place and bit him again. Spartacus started munching at the still squiggling Hope. He is eating him alive! Oh my God! This... is epic! The duel for the "Leadership" of the Unknown Dungeon minions was over. Spartacus was victorious. He gained 2 levels. And he has 341 forest rats following him! Oh my god! So many minions. I hope I have enough miasma! Spartacus ate all of Hope. Leaving only the bones. With the death of hope. I somehow gained 10 miasma. I have 100 miasma before then spent 11 to make Hope and Spartacus and the female rat my minions. So I have 89. But now it''s 99. So i conclude that Hope''s death had something to do with it. But how? Anyway, about this other rats. I think I''ll just wait until they themselves becomes my minion, I don''t wanna force them all. It will cost me so much miasma. Not that I''m saying it won''t cost anything if they turn themselves in. It will just be cheaper. Well, we''ll see what happens tomorrow... Until Next Time Chapter 4 The Lone Wolfs Siege (thank you guys for reading my FF :D Azunai is still is only building it up, as am I. so I "Hope" you guys could still stick around and support Azunai.. maybe become his first sentient minions? and mingle with those stinking rats? hahaha. well anyway thank you guys for the support. so let''s get chap4 done. oh yeah, i would later edit about the race of these rats coz they''re rodents. they''re vermins yes, but their race is rodent yeah?) Dungeon Siege Chapter 4 A new day has dawned upon the side of a mountain where my crevice is. My crevice faces the east. To greet the mighty sun. And as the sun rise, the rats had already laid waste upon my dungeon. Literally, they shat everywhere, making my dungeon a stinking hole on the mountain. These vermins. Oh well. There''s no more Hope. I mean Hope the rat is dead. Yeah, so when Hope died, I gained 10 miasma. I got a profit of 5 miasma in return. 33 forest rats cohesively turned themselves as my new minions. So do I have them kill each other? For more miasma. I... I don''t know actually. It''s tempting. And if ever, it would make them much more stronger right? Argh! I just made it difficult for myself. I need to think about this carefully. Let''s leave it for later. So, last night, after Spartacus'' victory over Hope. He has now been formally given his name!

Toxifies rat''s bite, poisoning anything that it attack. Rabies is a very lethal attack. It constantly hits the afflicted enemy with poison damage about every second. Thus, once the target reaches 1 hp, Rabies'' next cycle kills the enemy. Also reduces the target''s physical armor and reduces magic resistance.
Well, that''s very useful. This is good. So I''ve scattered my minions along with the other rats to scout for other prospect minions. And there I''ve found a hopping prospect. What cuddly little things. Luckily there was a strayed one. I instructed 3 of my minions to sneak behind the rabbit. As they jumped the rabbit, the one in behind got kicked good by the rabbit and was sent backwards tumbling and fumbling. It knocked out my minion in one kick! Holy hell! -Retreat! Abort! Abort! Damn! These rabbits are strong as hell. Oh I''m gonna get back at you! I could use Spartacus, he''s as big as these rabbits. But he''ll be a lot weaker ''cause he''s outside the premises of my influence. What the hell do I do? Overwhelm them with Spartacus'' followers? My minions returned safely save for the unconscious. Speaking of unconscious, the large rat that Spartacus defeated was apparently a champion rat. But unfortunately, I cannot add him to the ranks unless I level up more or for drastic measures, kill Spartacus. But I don''t want that. Spartacus defeated him even with minus damage handicap. But I can''t wait to add another strong minion in my arsenal. No the champion has no name, just Forest Rat Champion. But I will name him once I''m able to turn him. Once darkness has enveloped the land, all the rats had returned to the cave. The cave is now bustling with rat noises as I have my minions duel each other. Not to death though. I crossed that thought. I would rather have a bunch of minions than a few but stronger. My minions could still get stronger without killing each other. And I allowed the champ rat to join so he could also get stronger before I turn him in. And of course, Spartacus dominated. The second strongest was the champion. That only shows how strong Spartacus is. Damn, I''m happy he was the one who survived. I was also impressed with the champ. Once I turn him in I would not know who''ll get the Alpha position. The sun once again greeted me. It is now the third day since I became a dungeon. After the duels last night, there was another two events that happened. About 20 female rats from the hollow tree gave birth to their pups. Well of course not at all the same time. I magically gained miasma, 1 for every pup born and alive and 0.5 for the dead pups. I don''t know what is at work here. Of how I gained miasma. I can give a rough guess. Since I''m like the care taker for this creatures, they give me miasma for the shelter I give them. So they give me miasma and protection. That''s just a guess though. So since there were 87 live pups and 29 that were unfortunate, I got 100 miasma again. And not only that! The pups who were born here automatically became my minions. That''s fucking awesome! And the second thing that happened. Guess what? Come on! Can you guess? Tch. Okay, I''ll just tell you. I leveled up! Hurrah! Hahahhahah hell yeah!

Aww. How many levels do I still need? Darn it. But I''ll convert another 33 minions again. That''ll leave me with only 1 miasma. I can convert the Dams(pregnant or parent female rats). 20 of them. 13 rats left that I can convert. I''ll just have to wait until they return from their daily routines. I gave instructions to my minions, the adult dungeon rats, to scout around the surroundings. And I found the rabbit holes that the rabbits I encountered yesterday that they inhabit. Also found a pack of wolves wandering about the forest. My minions avoided them even without my orders. Yep, their''s instincts still works yeah. Even if they''re my minions now. Good to know. The forest seems large. I would need an eye in the sky to see the vastness of this forest. And if it really is vast, then good for me. I would be harder to find. And I could prepare better defenses for any unfortunate adventurers. Yeah. No a bad idea. Now I ordered my minions to return. And to my fucking negligence, I have led a lone wolf that was part of the pack to my dungeon. Great! Just fucking great. Oh my God, this is the worst possible scenario. If it was the rabbits that came instead of the wolf... I would probably rejoice. What do I do? Fuck! So I ordered my new minions, the Dams, to retreat to most rear possible to protect their pups. Then the rest to form a defensive line inside the cave. Inside the cave I, they would have a little advantage. And I could help my minions by distracting the wolf by corrupting it. And if lucky, I would''ve make it my minion perhaps. As soon as the wolf entered my cave I barraged it already with corrupting miasma. It tried to shrugged off the invisible force to no avail. But it still proceeded to go deeper into the cave as it cannot stopped the urge to hunt all of this preys. The defensive line of my minions broke off their line and circled the wolf so that they could flank it. Spartacus was the first to strike from behind. Nibbling it in its leg. The wolf reacted and turn around. As it turned, two rats attacked its back leg. The wolf turned again, and one of my minions took advantage but it was caught by the wolf. The wolf turned as fast as it could as it reacted to the rat that''s trying to attack him, it used it front left paw to scratch my minion. Luckily, my minions got a bit of battle experience from last nights duels session. The end part of the duel is one versus all for each of them. My minion who was about to be "pawed" by the wolf evaded at a heart''s beat. Whew! My minions are awesome. They''re standing up against a wolf. It is not unfair. The wolf is so much stronger than them, so their number advantage should not be questioned for the weak should bunch together to fight off stronger enemies. All my minions including Spartacus are heavily wounded now. I still continue to barrage the wolf with corruption to help them. And it was slowing down the reaction time of the wolf. Little by little the outsider rats were returning to the cave. They also help out on the assault. Champ also help quite a lot. Him and Spartacus were the ones who''s dealing the most damage to the wolf. They''re whittling it down bit by bit. exhausting it. And I intensified my corruption and finally! It fell unconscious. The outsider rats tried to swarm it once it was downed, Spartacus stepped up and stopped them. They all stopped. Spartacus is undeniably their leader. And it cost me 30 miasma, now I have 4 miasma left. That''s quite a lot for a lone wolf. But now I''ve got me a wolf. Hahahahaha. 30 miasma it think is worth it. And no minions of mine or the forest rats were actually killed.

Sweet! I could do so much with the wolf in my arsenal now. Those rabbits will not be a problem anymore. Or any other small creatures for that matter. As soon as it wakes up I''ll have it hunt those rabbits. I''ll have it hunt for food so it wont starve to death since the rats are omnivores. I can''t have the wolf eat the rats. The wolf minion recovers his consciousness and I have it hunt the rabbits. And it killed a rabbit. I hoped that I would get a miasma, but nothing somehow. So I let the wolf munch on it. After its meal, I ordered it to leave the other rabbits alone. Night had already come. But I still have the wolf wander some more, it found its pack but I ordered it to hide and not show itself. The pack is feasting on a deer. After a little while of observation on the pack. I gamble on it and let the wolf go to the pack. It approached carefully. Most of the pack members were already resting after their meal and only a few is eating what was left of the deer. As the wolf got a little closer the pack was alerted. The pack master stood and growled as a warning for the intruder. My wolf growled back fiercely as if telling the pack master that it didn''t fear him. As they faced off, the other wolves tried to circle my wolf so I have him retreat slowly. Then he sprinted away. The wolves gave chase. I ordered it not to go to the cave as to not bring harm to my other minions. They wouldn''t be of any help against the pack. As soon as my wolf lost them I ordered it to return to the cave to recuperate. That was kinda exiting. Thankfully they lost track of my wolf and they were steered away from the cave. But now I have a new objective. Have my wolf challenge the pack master for the leadership of the pack. But I have to bring them to where I have advantage. But that can wait as I would need a whole lot of miasma to be able to help my wolf. So rabbit hunting for a while. Though without killing them. About thirty minutes later, My wolf brought a live rabbit. Still squirming while on the wolf''s jaws. When the wklf entered I immediately had it kill the rabbit. And "DING!". Yep, my theories are true. I can only gain miasma if the death hapens inside the cave. Now it''s only about patience. And I have plenty of it. After 3 days of hunting(bringing the rabbits alive inside the cave). I now got 795 miasma! Even though I have this much miasma now, I still didn''t turn the forest rats. I would first save for the wolves as they are more important. But i will still turn the remaining 321 forest rats. Wolves are top priority for now. So I plan for my wolf''s usurpation of the pack... Until then. Chapter 5 Fenris Yay! First R&R! Thank you Anubbisk! Though I don''t get how it is awkward, hahaha. I guess because it''s a bit of ''first person(?) speaking from Azunai. By doing that I can get into character as much as I can. Thanks anyway. So anyway, thans guys for reading and feedbacks, again. Dungeon Siege Chapter 5 Barathrum (note that the title in the thread is Fenris. I forgot to change that.) After three days of hunting, I was able to procure 795 miasma that I will absolutely use for the battle against the pack of wolves we''ve encountered. I was also able to confirm, the more miasma I have, the faster I can corrupt creatures. But the rate of corruption when forcefully corrupting them also depends on the creatures size. I tried it on one of the captured rabbits. I also leveled up to level 5. And when I reached level five I was now able to make or employ a unique or boss monster. So I employed the rat champion immediately. Why not the wolf? Well, first come first serve to be fair. I might regret that decision later. So anyway... I looked at champ''s stats.

My wolf minion also gained a couple of levels in that three days, which will be a great help. I also have the wolf train with Spartacus and the others to train the wolf how to defend and attack multiple enemies. Though they may just be rats, they still provide an ample of battle experience, and yeah they defeated the wolf once so the wolf cannot complain. Although the defeat of the wolf was also because of my help. So now, time for the real thing! As my wolf minion picked up their scent, it followed behind the pack. Doing everything it can to hide its presence. There were about 15 to 20 of them wolves, because I or my minion could not locate the other wolves. But we were sure they were there. So I have my minion retreat and then have it howl when it was a bit farther from the pack. Now I heard other wolves'' howl in response. They picked up our trail and they doubled back and gave chase. My wolf sprinted fast. My wolf arrived and rested to recover. Because it was daytime, all the other rats were out scavenging. As for my other minions, I have some of them hide inside and outside waiting for the right moment to pounce on the unsuspecting wolves. And they arrived. Glaring and growling at my lone wolf. The pack master stepped inside and the others followed. I started barraging them with corrupting miasma. I know they will not succumb easily and I''m also doubtful they''ll succumb. I even fear that my lone wolf will not survive this ordeal I have gambled upon. So as I barrage them, they started to feel uncomfortable and disturbed, especially the pack master whom I focused my corrupting attacks. The alpha started the attack, the others followed. My minion was able to evade their attacks and was able to retaliate on some wolves. So as to not be circled, my wolf tried to move around. My other minions who were inside were the dams and some other male dungeon rats to at least protect the pups. They stayed quiet during this ordeal. As my wolf wrestled the pack of wolves I tried my best to delay their reflexes and reaction time. I tried to corrupt them to make them my minions but it seemed a lot more harder. Their minds resisted furiously. The same goes for the alpha. Then finally! I was able to corrupt one of the wolves. But it blacked out because of so much mental stress. It was still useful as I was able to reduce the number of attackers even by just one. The pack is gradually chipping away the health and strength of my minion. Even if I use my rats, they would not be of any help. But I did anyway. This gamble should at least low the morale of the pack even by a bit. And if their morale gets lower it would be easier for me to overtake their minds and knock them unconscious, then they would already become my minions when they wake up. So I prayed, hard, that my gamble would work. And surely did! They became overwhelmed! I started knocking some wolves down. Their way outside were blocked by my rats and some forest rats who have returned. My minions and the other rats were also terrified of the wolves. They wouldn''t be able to stand up against the wolves who were far more stronger than them. But they relent in blocking the retreat of the wolves. Nibbling them if they even get closer to the entrance/exit. My minions were on the front-line of the blockade. They were expertly dodging the attacks of the wolves. They already have experience fighting a wolf, but multiple wolves are still different though. It was harder as they could not focus on a single target. ''Cause if they ever do, they''ll get killed by the other wolves. The other wolves are now occupied with dealing with rats while the alpha faced by my already, badly wounded wolf. But left with only a handful of wolves to deal with, I thought that we had already won. But my wolf, wounds all around the body, bleeding every where, was downed by the fairly wounded alpha. The alpha fiercely howled galvanizing the remaining wolves. The alpha then turned its back on my wolf as it was sure the wolf is already dead if not, incapable. But I know that my wolf isn''t dead, but soon will be from so much bleeding. Whether capable of standing back up or not, I was not sure. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. The alpha wolf was about to go into the fray against the rats when it suddenly stopped. Sensing danger behind, it turned backwards to where the dying wolf is. -The dying wolf stands! Hurrah! Take that Alpha-fuck-tard! All is not lost! Hahahaha. But wait! What is happening?! Suddenly my wolf minion is glowing? Or what is it? Black light or mist? It covered the wolf entirely. Then the black mist dissipated, and a new fucking awesome wolf appeared. Pitch black furs that even light doesn''t reflect on it. Its eyes were shining like a gem in gold. Even its fangs looks metallic. And then that ominous feeling that feels like you''re gonna be drag into the abyss. Though I cannot feel it I could see it from the reaction of the wolves and the rats. I cannot contain my curiosity and excitement upon the event the unfolded, because I also gained 5 levels! I''m level 10 now.

Oooooooh! So awesome! Then he faced the other wolves. Their tails were now tucked between their legs, the alpha included. So there is no more need to kill or even fight them. With Barathrum''s fear aura I can now easily subjugate them. They actually all fell unconscious almost immediately and all at the same time. Whew! And Barathrum should be easily crowned the alpha of the new pack even without my orders. "Awoooooooooooooooooo!" Barathrum''s howl echoed inside the cave and then the moon was summoned. Until then. And I''ve subjugated the 18 wolves. No one from the pack was killed fortunately. But more importantly, none of my minions was killed too. They''re pretty damn good I think. Too good to be true. But there''s two problem. First, there''s no more space to accommodate all of my minions so I really need to expand. But, here''s the second problem. I have no minions capable of excavating the dungeon. The rabbits and rats can only dig burrows. It would take so much time to excavate just a 2m x 2m room. Not that I don''t have the time, but "Time is gold." as the saying says. I would need excavators that could use pickax and shovels. So I guess that''s the first thing to do tomorrow. Find me some diggers. For tonight I''ll have the wolves spend the night just outside the entrance. If they wish to hunt at night then I guess there''s no problem. But they have to bring their preys here so that I would gain some miasma back for the miasma I used to subjugate them. Well, I guess that''s it for today.

(i''ll change Dig to Excavate) I used 35 miasma to influence the former pack leader and 30 for the rest. So I am left with 240 miasma. Dawn breaks and the Sun rises. By sunrise, my newly acquired minions had gathered me miasma from their hunting by more than half of what I have used to subjugate them. Though not fully recovering all miasma I used, it could still be useful if there''s any urgent need for it. So for today my our main mission is to abduct any kind of sentient being. And if possible, the weakest of the sentient beings would be most gracious offering. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. And so the journey begins, is what I would like to say. I mean come on. Why would fate not give me a challenge? Fate just offered me my preys. Yeah. Just like that. Suddenly goblins numbering to thirteen showed up at the entrance of my cave. What would they be doing here? *grrrrrrrr* All of my wolves gnarled at the guests we have. And so did my rat minions making their own angry sounds. But this is all too perfect. Did they somehow chance upon my cave in this side of the mountain? "What are you doing here? How have you come upon this mountain?" Asked Barathrum with his noble and majestic voice. "Greetings!" A wrinkly goblins said as he raised both hands. His left hand holding a staff, while the other are some leaves of sorts. "My name is Baasdokt. I leads them gits here for I feels the powers. Wes fled our village when those pesky hummies comes and rekt our homes." "We came in peaces mi lord! We only seek shelter and protekshon! We came to serve!" Plead another goblin. All of these goblins were lightly armed. So I still had a little doubt of what they''re saying. But they also looked seriously beaten. With the look on their eyes indicating they lost hope and found a new one. "I am no Lord. I---" Said Barathrum but he was cut when he was about to utter something else. "Wes not talking abot you wolf." Although lightly armored, the one who spoke still has full leather set. Distinguishing him from the rest. Barathrum quickly pounced on the goblin and pushed him down on the dirt. *GRRRRRR* "Watch your mouth, filth. I could take you all on alone." "Pardon great guardian! Wes mean no offense!" *thunk* As the elderly goblin whacked the other goblin in the head. "Wes just all tired and wes whats left of the group that fled the village. As the elder of these gits, I wish to speak to your master." And Barathrum dismounts the goblin and gnarled at him once more before heading inside of the cave. "Master." ''Ahhh. I thought it would be hard to find my diggers. But here they are, offering themselves up... Go let the elder in.'' "Yes Master." "Master said you may go in." "Thank you!" The elder gob bowed and went inside. The others tried to followed but was blocked by Barathrum and his pack. "Only the elder! You all wait here... Guard them." He instructed the former pack leader. Then Barathrum also went inside. "Master." ''I''ll make them my new minions. So that we could expand this tiny crevice.'' "Me and the gits have come to serve thy Master!" DING!

Sweet! Now to make them all my minions. ''Baasdokt. I''ll just call you Dokt. Go and tell your brethrens to come here and pledge their loyalty as you did.'' "Yes Master!" Dokt obediently complies. "OI YOU GITS! GIT OVA ''ERE! AND LET MASTER TINKER YOU BRAINS TO STRAIGHTEN YOU OUT!" So the other gobs became my new minions. ''Go make picks and shovels and start digging. As you can see, it''s all cramped in here. "Yes master!" And so the expansion begins. To be continued... Chapter 7 The Dig Dungeon Siege Chapter 7 The Dig And so the dig began. My goblin minions scrapped and salvaged what they can from their equipments to make makeshift shovels and pickax. And they began extracting tons of earths and dumped it outside. The trees outside were cleared to make more space for the excess earth, and the trees were also used as support beams. Not that beams are needed though. But a little bit of ornamentation for the cave won''t hurt, would it? They were only able to make three makeshift picks and four shovels. So I only give 7 gobs the work. I''ll have them round up the digging between the 13 of them so when the first diggers would get tired the other set could take over. "Master. We''ve made the picks an'' shovels, Master. Shall we start now?" ''No start next year. Of course you start now you dimwits! The earlier you dig the earlier you''ll finish!'' "Yes Master! Alright you gits! Start diggin''" It was the goblin who Barathrum almost wanted dead. Out of the thirteen goblins, five were females. So the first set of diggers were four males and three females. And they dig. They dig the whole day through. And more they dig. Is what I''d like them to do. They dig. From ealy morn till night. They dig. Everything in sight. Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho Heigh-ho Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho It''s home from work we go [Whistle] Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho [Whistle] Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho Heigh-ho And the first seven dwarves *ahem**cough cough* GOBLINS, took rest and the other six took over from there. I had the goblins rest when the two moons were already at its peak. How do I see the moons? Well, through Barathrum of course. By the end of their excavation, we''ve already advanced by almost six meters. The dig was only leveled to the ground floor. Because whatever my minions do, they cannot damage the ground floor. I guessed, it was probably because I can only have one floor at the moment. Well, we were able to make room for the wolves and the goblins at last. No, not actual rooms. I mean space. I only instructed the gobs to dig straight ward. And instructed them to excavate one small room that would house the rats. The main hall of the first floor would still be farther deep inside. For now, just excavate deeper into the mountain. And I think that I am at least, properly a dungeon now. Not just a shallow cave by the mountain. With the excavated earths and stones, there were also these black stones which were coals. They''d be pretty useful in later days. For now, the goblins used the logs from the trees they felled to make a fire spit. Barathrum stood guard by the entrance while all others rested. Earlier while the gobs were digging, the wolves went hunting except for Barathrum. In their hunt, I recovered all miasma I used in subjugating the goblins. And some more. The games were then stockpiled for the goblins to cook. Food is much better when cooked. And so that the wolves would also tasted cooked foods. Right? Yum yum. So tonight the wolves rest. The rats, its their time to hunt and scavenge since they''re naturally nocturnal. They just hunted other small critters, picked up berries and herbs. For the goblins also. Since we have a witch doctor who can make potions for later days. The whole duration of the night, Spartacus mostly did hunting. He hunted rabbits. He''s been training with the two rabbit minions I have ever since. So he''s pretty much used to fighting rabbits now. Tomorrow became today. The dig continues. Since the wolves have brought games and the rats some berries and herbs, Baasdokt or Dokt the elder goblin prepared meat stew and give everyone. The rabbits though preferred the juicy herbs and berries. "Ahhhh thanks thee Master fo'' the delicious an'' yummy foods. After so long of runnin'' without stoppin'', wes finally gets some rest an'' fulls tummy. Wes can works mo'' betta'' mo'' fasta''." It was Krukz the Soldier Goblin. Krukz was the name of the goblin that Barathum pounced yesterday. "Master, if you might, would you allow me to melt all the equipments we have brought and make iron tools?" Crugdoz suggested, he''s a blacksmith. Or what he prefers, "Tinkerer". Well what do I know of these goblins? ''No. It''s such a waste of time and resources. Later on we should be able to acquire iron ores. That''s where well be getting our iron tools.'' This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it "Understood Master." "With foods in wes tummy, wes be more working effeshently. Let''s get diggin'' you gits." Dokt picked up the stone pick and heads to the dig area. While the goblins were digging yesterday, I have learned that I, the glowing shard stone could move about inside the dungeon. Yeah, I was able to float. But just for a moment. I still needed to attach myself to the ground or the walls for support. So I just stuck myself on the wall of the room for the rats. With all the miasma I''ve got, I was able to subjugate all the rats now. Their pups needs no subjugation for they are already my minions if their mothers were already my minions. Spartacus intently stared at me, as if wanting to say something. Wanting to ask for answers for his questions that''s been bothering him. I think he''s been gaining intelligence and wisdom. I could only look at him with pity. As if I have eyes. He would not know it. The problems is I could not converse with him. I could only force or let him know of my will. If he was like Barathrum it would''ve been much easier. I don''t even know if he would be able to reach that stage. And so another day was finished. The wolves as usual, rested for the night even though they could hunt well in the dark. And the rats do what they do. By the end of the day, the dig had progressed much farther than what was accomplished yesterday. The goblins were able to dig for about 20 meters. We have extracted more coals from the mountain. No metal ores so far. But it won''t be long. Soon.

End of the day. New day rises again. And we continue to dig. So far, we''re still just about thirty meters deeper. I want at least fifty meters deep till the main hall for the first floor. The dig began after breakfast. Just five meters into the dig, we''ve hit it. Metal ores. There were iron and copper ores. Maybe we''re near the heart of the mountain. That''s good. Crugdoz immediately took the extracted ores and built an impromptu smelter so he could process the ores. The processed ores produced three iron picks. Which were handed to the other goblins. Now, more ores were extracted and was sent to Crugdoz. Crugdoz became busy with his "workshop". In his workshop he now produces shovels and buckets to fill with excavated earths and minerals. ''Why not make wooden carts? There''s plenty of wood out there to make planks for the cart. Excavation would be much more faster and efficient.'' "Ooooooh! Brilliant idea Master! I''s makes saw blade then Master, for the sawmill. Hehehehehe. Blukt! Oi Blukt! Go get woods out there." With an idea of his own he laughed then called to one of the goblins, Blukt. Blukt is a wood cutter goblin. So it''s only reasonable Crugdoz called him. So we are now mining the mountain, not just excavation or something. And its gone much more faster and easier than before after Crugdoz produced more picks and shovels. The goblins made another room for workshop and the smithy. Soon enough, I would have Crugdoz make armors and weapons for themselves. Would it be also fine if Barathrum gets an armor? A little upgrade? To be continued...
