The subject travelled to the Void Plane and made a name for himself becoming an expert fighter known to many. Died fighting against the [Overlord of Purgatory]. "So, I''m dead... now what?" The soul started to lose his spirit. Like all souls, a memory wipe would attempt to destroy the spirit and sap all knowledge and power the soul had. "Aaaaahhhhh, NOOO!!! I WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO DEATH!" A rare case was happening. Laws are meant to be broken, and one absolute law was no exception. For the first time since the end of the void and the beginning of life, a soul kept his existence. He was certain from his knowledge that no one has ever escaped the existence destruction. Not knowing what happened, his soul moved to another attempting to communicate. Suddenly, the soul that made contact with HIM started to get absorbed. After a few seconds, HIS soul was bigger than before. Not noticing until now, HE noticed the surrounding souls were inactive. Those that bumped into each other would have one side absorb the other, but only the larger soul absorbed the other. Understanding the laws of this dimension, he started to absorb all the souls that were smaller. Unlike the others, HE had a conscience so he avoided when others couldn''t and consumed while others bit. Time passed, until time was no longer able to be measured by mortals. After absorbing so many souls, HIS soul has dramatically changed. If HE were to compare HIS soul from when HE started training to now, it would be like a marble to a basketball. Feeling that HE should leave, HE followed the pull''s current. Having ignored it until now, the soul was sent to a world far from where he first appeared. HE will live again, and HE will keep that new life. Arc 1 - Chapter 1: Rebirth Chapter 1: Rebirth After the pull dragged HIM for a long time, it settled HIM into a space. When HE stopped moving, his soul was dragged into the world into his new body. ¡­¡­¡­. On the continent [Status] there is one absolute rule: the law of the jungle. On this continent, political power holds less power than expert fighters. This world, [Terra] is almost an exact copy of the geography of [Earth] before Pangea split. Somewhere in a small village, there was a small wooden house. In there lay a woman struggling to keep conscience. Next to her, an old woman and a young man look at her with worry in their eyes. Both of them were assisting the woman''s needs as much as possible. "Keep going Lelia. You''re almost done." The young man was visibly worried for his wife to safely give birth. Next to him, the old woman spoke, "Keep going, my daughter. Kai, get the cloth ready." Lelia: "AAaaaaaHhhhhhhH!!!" ¡­¡­¡­. Several days after HE was born. HE was named with the same name as his previous life plus another. Soula Voilong. A familiar name, but at the same time a new identity. Having just given birth, his mother Lelia was resting except for the times to feed Soula. The only people that he interacted with so far were his mother Lelia, his father Dai, and his grandmother Freed. The language used around the house were English and Vietnamese with sometimes Chinese. Most of the languages seemed to be from [Earth]. While having nothing to do, Soula attempted to train his mana and qi control.

Taking a moment to absorb all the information in, Soula started to think again. "So I was reincarnated into an RPG world." Thinking to all of the light novels and manga he read in his previous world, he wondered how the main characters acted their lives. "In the books I read, the main character uses their otherworld knowledge to aid him in his/her goals. But what is my goal." Thinking to what he has experienced so far in his new life, he considered a few goals. "I never had parents in my previous life. I also never made any real friendships. Now that I think about it, I died because I had no one to help me when the [Overlord of Purgatory] executed me." Back then, people betrayed and captured him and no one believed that he was innocent. He had no one close to him. Because of that, many easily betrayed him causing his death. "In this life, my goals will be: 1. Treasure my family; 2. Treasure my friends; 3. Gain power to protect my friends." Having decided on his course of life, Soula continued his leisure days with his family. Arc 1 - Chapter 2: Several Years Later Chapter 2: Several Years Later White Paw Village is a village that is home to many people. Residents include several humans, dwarves, and beastmen. About the races, there are: humans (northern, southern, eastern, western); elves (forest, fairy, nymph, dark); beastmen (any animal/mixes of animals); dwarves (north, south, east, west). In the village, the humans were western with eastern immigrants and the dwarves were dwarves of the west. Beastmen came in many forms, but most included the common features of cats, dogs, and rabbits. Right now, Soula is 4 years old. He has started to train his body under the guidance of his father. Right now he is currently running around the village. So far, he ran about 3 miles. With the body of a four year old, this was extremely hard for him. The only value in continuing was the benefits told on the notification screens.

Having trained since his father let him at the early age of 4, Soula is one of the strongest among his age. However, because of his peculiar childhood from his past life, he thought that everyone was around the same strength as him. The continent [Status] was the same as the geography of Pangaea from [Earth]. The continent [Status] was separated into four areas ruled by the major countries: North- Russia, South- Africa, East- China, West- America. The current technology status was around the medieval times but with some ideas from modern times implanted. Also, during these last four years, Soula has been training on his mana and ki control. Although he could¡¯ve strengthened his capacity instead, he realized that he would stand out if people realized that he had a larger capacity than others at a young age. In the short term, working on control first is more important before training on capacity. Besides, it seems like he found out how abnormal his stats were. When Soula asked his father how much mana he had, he replied that he had 4524 mana. After another few minutes of resting, he heard his father greet someone. ¡°Hey Leyland. So you finally arrived. You sure took your time.¡±Soula remembered that his father told him that some people would be moving across the street. ¡°Ah, hey Dai. It took some time cause the kids seemed sad to move away from their old house." replied the man Leyland. "Oh yeah, sometimes I¡¯ll send the kids to you so you can babysit.¡± ¡°Well, they can play with my son Soula whenever they want.¡± Looking up, Soula noticed who his father was talking to. Leyland was a tall blond human. Although he wasn¡¯t really handsome, he had a perfect figure with slim muscles and some sort of warrior aura. ¡°Oh. Who¡¯s this young girl here?¡± ...an arrow went through Soula''s heart. Recently he started to grow his hair out until it reached past his shoulders. A woman with blonde hair walks towards them with three children, one boy and two girls. The woman had a short haircut almost like a man¡¯s and slim physique. Her face was petite with orange pupils and had cat-like ears on her head which drew attention to the tail wagging around. She wore leather armour used mostly for hunters and had a bow on her back. Looking at her, people would describe her as a tomboy or a nekojin. The children all had the same blonde hair as their parents. Both of the girls were identical in appearance, even to the point where they dressed the same. Their hair was cut shoulder length and had blue eyes but other than that,both looked like humans. The boy, however, inherited his mother¡¯s animal features and looked almost like a younger version of his mother. Noticing them, Leyland introduced them, ¡°Well, I¡¯d like to meet my wife Katherine, and my children are Rudy, Rena, and Rika.¡± ¡°Nice to meet you.¡± (Inner monologue of the kids) Rudy: ¡®Wow, what a pretty girl.¡¯ Runa: ¡®So this is our new playmate.¡¯ Rika: ¡®I wonder if he can last in a fight?¡¯ ¡°Nice to meet you. My name is Soula Voilong. Nice to make acquaintances with you.¡± Suddenly, the young boy Rudy jumped forward and somehow procured a rose out of nowhere and spoke in a loud voice. ¡°PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!¡± ¡­¡­¡­. ¡°I AM NOT A GIRL!¡± With that, the loud sound of a slap reverberated throughout the village. Arc 1 - Chapter 3: You Learn Something Every Day Chapter 3: You Learn Something Every Day After clearing the misunderstanding, it turned out that Rudy¡¯s playboy attitude did not differentiate in gender, which frightened Soula. Seeking protection, he quickly made friends with Runa and Rika. Runa was a cheerful girl who was a slight airhead and Rika was a hothead with a fiery temper. All of them learned from their parents how to fight and later they all started to train together. Every morning we trained in stat improvement and planned to raise our level later. During the last few months the children went to the local teacher to learn the basics such as writing and mathematics. Basically the summarized information Soula learned were the following: Practitioners are labeled into the following categories of power rank: 1st - 9th gate - From the first gate (Lv 1-99) to the 9th gate (Lv 800-899) it would take a lifetime. Most people reach only up to the 2nd gate Saint - Geniuses who surpassed their limits and understand the laws of the universe. Saints are those who can crush countries overnight and massacre tens of thousands of people with half their power. (Lv 900-999) Deity [Unranked] - Those who can crush a Saint with a finger and never die of old age, as well as freely crossing other worlds. Saints are lucky if they become Deities before death as even with long life it would take 10,000 years at least. Upon reaching the Deity level, one no longer dies of old age and will revert to their prime in youth. (Lv 1000-1999) Demigod - The next rank of the Deities. (Lv 2000-2999) God - The next rank after Demigod. (Lv 3000-3999) Highgod - The peak of all practitioners. The last rank for many, but there are some monsters that still train at this level. One of the most important information he learned was about the skill [Oversoul]. When one reaches a Gate level, you will be notified you that you can absorb the beast soul of the monster you defeated. You can choose not to and pick another, but you cannot change beast spirits once you get it. The only thing that matters in a beast spirit is it¡¯s abilities, not level. So a level 1 [Dragon] is obviously a better choice than a level 100 [Slime].¡± A girl questioned, ¡°So does that mean we can absorb any beast spirit?¡± ¡°No, depending on your affinities, there will be some monsters not compatible with you. Don¡¯t worry about this because the notification window will tell your adaptability with the spirit. You can¡¯t absorb a spirit with less than 20% adaptability. It is extremely hard to find monsters with good adaptability, unless you¡¯re a beastmen with a similar race.¡± ¡°In one week, we will hold a ceremonial training camp to allow all villagers at the ages 4-10 to go to a dungeon and acquire a beast soul. First you must reach the 1st Gate before you absorb a beast soul.¡± For the rest of that week, all of the children in the village trained harder so that they could find and defeat a powerful monster for their beast soul. Arc 1 - Chapter 4: Ceremonial Training Camp Chapter 4: Ceremonial Training Camp On the day of the ceremony, the children from the village between the ages 4-10 entered the Salty Lake Forest. The Salty Lake Forest is a dungeon that gives shelter to monsters level 1-20. There are 3 areas: outer ring, middle ring, and core area. The deeper in you go, the stronger the monsters become. At the core area, there is a salty water lake. Over there is a Lv: 20 BOSS creature called Labu. Labbu is a sort of lion-serpent sea-dragon. It seems to be named after Labbu from Mesopotamian myth. When Soula heard the word ¡°Mesopotamian¡±, he wondered if this world had any relation to [Earth]. During training, no one from the village will interfere unless one gets caught in a life threatening situation. Otherwise, children should join together into teams of three or more. Soula joined the triplets Rudy, Runa, and Ruka. For energetic children, the trip to the forest was rather boring. Most monsters avoided the large group and the few monsters that they met were quickly exterminated. The look the children gave to the low-level monsters were those of bandits hunting down their prey. It wasn¡¯t until the border to the middle ring did everyone calm down. This was where people could split up while adults would keep hidden and only act when necessary. The outer ring was weak, but safe. It only had monsters Lv: 1-5. However, monsters do not train their bodies but naturally get stronger through fights. So basically compared to monsters even at the same level, unless the monster is an elite or BOSS, people would be way stronger than most common monsters. Having split off from the others, the triplets and Soula have started to look for a monster to kill. ¡°Ok ladies, what do you want to do?¡± Rudy asked the others. Noticing that he heard ¡°ladies¡± and not ¡°ladies and gentleman¡± Soula replied,¡°Hey, don¡¯t call me a lady, and for your question we should go into the middle ring and hunt around there.¡± ¡°Why don¡¯t we go to the core area?¡± questioned Ruka. ¡°Ruka! Are you crazy? We¡¯re only 4 years old, and none of us are past the 2nd Gate yet. And you want us to fight a BOSS!¡± ¡°Runa¡¯s right. We aren¡¯t prepared to fight a 2nd Gate monster, whether it is a BOSS or not.¡± Finding out what the others thought, Ruka replied,¡°Aw man. You guys are no fun.¡± ¡°Come on now, let¡¯s go hunting before all the others wipe the forest out.¡± At the same time Runa and Ruka spoke,¡°THEN LETS HURRY! JYNX! JYNX AGAIN. JYNX¡­¡± ¡°Alright, stop already. Lets go already.¡± After searching for a while, they encountered their first monster. Seeing a black wolf monster, a notification box appeared in front of them.

Taking lead, Soula issued orders. ¡°Alright everyone, I¡¯ll coordinate our attacks. Listen to my commands.¡± Rudy, Runa, & Ruka: ¡°Roger!¡± They all moved in. Because they all had beastmen heritage, all of them took warrior training. Hiding the fact that Soula could use magic, everyone in their party were warriors. Rudy unsheathed his sword and swung with both hands at the front leg. -452 Runa ran while rapidly firing blasts of ki with her skill [Gatling Ki]. -14 -21 -53 -19 Ruka envelops her fist with ki and starts to attack the boar¡¯s head. Soula move to the back and start to attack with ki-infused punches as well. -302 -786 And thus they wrecked the poor piglet¡­ of course not. Remember, this is the first real battle the 4 years old ever fought in, excluding Soula. Ruka accidentally bumped into Rudy when he was about to attack again, Runa almost shot her teammates few times, and Rudy actually drops his weapon when the Black Wolf used [Combo Claws]. Seeing the situation, Soula took command. ¡°Rudy, pick up your sword and back off. Ruka, Runa watch out for your allies. We don¡¯t want any friendly fire.¡± Runa: ¡°What do you mean by friendly fire? What kind of fire is that?¡± Soula: ¡°No, I mean we don¡¯t want to hit our teammates.¡± Runa: ¡°Oh, I get it.¡± Afterwards, they fixed their positions and easily defeated the Black Piglet.

Rudy, Ruka, & Runa: "OK!" Before we left, we extracted the monster core from the wolf''s head and gathered it''s pelt. The meat was left behind. Arc 1 - Chapter 5: Missing Ruka Chapter 5: Missing Ruka Afterwards everyone continued to grind for the rest of the afternoon. At the end, everyone in Soula¡¯s group reached past level 50. Finishing off the last few monsters, all of the villagers gathered to the campsite where everyone stayed for the night. Upon returning to the camp, the children reported their progress to the guides and were told that only seven others reached past level 50. There was even someone who reached level 60, although his name wasn''t told because it¡¯s rude to openly tell one¡¯s information without the person in question¡¯s permission. To get used to traveling, everyone has to take care of their own camp chores such as cooking and taking night shifts. And thus ended our first day of training camp. ¡­¡­¡­. The triplets and Soula finished pitching our tent. Arc 1 - Chapter 6: Fight Against Labu Chapter 6: Fight Against Labu Entering the core area, Rudy and Soula sighted Ruka being protected by three of the village guards. Ruka seemed to have broken her leg and had it bent at an unnatural angle. Because of this, she was unable to run even if the guards held the BOSS back. Most of the observing adults were from the guards. Because most guards are only at the 3rd gate, the three adults are only around level 300-350. However, the situation is quite bad for them. Right now, they are fighting the BOSS Labu and monsters under his control. Surrounding the group were about twelve crocodiles. They all had sharp spikes protruding from their head like a horn. The BOSS Labu was as big as a house. It had reptilian skin and had spine-like hair running along its front and back. It only had two legs, but it supported itself with his tail. The head was a mix between a crocodile and a snake. Overall, it gave off the appearance of a giant sea monster.

Even with an advantage in level, the guards were surrounded and they also have to defend Ruka who cannot move. Although monsters seem weaker, their levels are actually about a tenth of a humans. (EX: Lv: 100 human = Lv: 10 Monster) Also, more crocodiles seem to come from the lake. If they did not receive help, they will be overwhelmed. Soula: "Rudy, go over there and..." Noticing that Rudy wasn¡¯t paying attention, he saw that Rudy was currently enchanted by one of the guards, a woman with leather armour that emphasized her looks. Soula didn¡¯t know whether to laugh or cry. Rudy''s perverted mind would focus on her instead of the injured sister nearby. Soula: "Rudy, get your mind out of the gutter and help your sister." OH GOD, I''M NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO DEFEAT A LEVEL 20 BOSS YET!!!¡± Quickly, he activated another move of his. Through continuous experimentation of system commands during their stay here, he learned that inventory could be used to absorb inorganic parts of a monster. Because most people have a low [Soul] stat, they use their inventory to store weapons and money. But because Soula was such a cheat, he could hold so much more than others. The command can''t store non-living items inside, but it can shave off parts of a monster. Soula started spamming [Inventory]. He shaped the command into a form like slots. The normal inventory summons a square-shaped hole to put things inside. Soula has managed to shape the command into card-shaped projectiles that ignores obstacles. He slowly shaved off the hair and skin of the monster. For some reason, the skill has a grey line on what it can take. Unless a part like an eye or a limb is attached to an living animal, Soula can''t absorb it. However, this skill totally ignores defense. So this skill is probably the most efficient skill Soula had. With this tactic, he slowly start shavinging off Labu''s HP. Even though, the damage is miniscule, it also has the hidden factor of removing his defence. Please report it. All of this is good, but the main point of this is to allow the others to escape. Light is mostly passive, but if stimulated by something aggressive like destruction ki, then the light ki can be converted to lightning. Technically wind ki added will turn it into thunder, which is a lot more powerful, but it''s already enough that both guards are able to use light and destruction. Both fired of bolts of lightning and damaged Labbu by¡­ -413 "...seriously. WE ONLY DID 1% DAMAGE!!!"thought Soula. Oh, and it looks like the guards are running out of energy to run. Guard 2: "Run kid. Keep running while we hold him off." Guard 1: "Go and get help. But don''t come back yourself." "Yeah right, you might hold him back for about a few seconds." thought Soula. "Ahhh, what to do? I haven''t really fought enemies with such a huge gap in power in a long time. Especially a giant monster like¡­ wait, don''t all monsters have monster cores?" As a side note, they can be sold to be used as various item materials in forging or alchemy. "Well, when he activates the first skill of his, he usually just charges with a lot of power. You might be able to attack him at that time." "That actually is a good idea. Luckily I formed a mana shield. A new notification popped up, but Soula quickly dismissed it. -85 -89 -101 ... -5043 As Labbu crashed into Soula, he was sent flying into the trees causing a few more of his precious HP going. But he got what I wanted. Labbu roared as his remaining health plummeted to zero. As his HP bar hit empty, several notification box appeared in his view.

When he woke up, it was a surprise to him when Rudy, Ruka, Runa, and his mother jumped on him and started crying. For the next few days after, barely able to move Soula had nothing to do. With no power to escape, he endured constant questioning on where did he learn magic. He just told them that he learnt how to use mana on his own after experimentation. Then everyone started to say that Soula was a great genius which got out of hand. Honestly, it was really easy to believe because he said he only knew two spells. The ceremonial training camp continued and many reached the 1st gate. Those who didn''t would have the chance to go on the next training camp. "Rudy and Ruka both got common monsters, but Runa was lucky to absorb an elite monster with affinity for magic. It seems like she might have some talent as a magician." I grew up in a prestigious clan called [Rong of Esemanteiv]. At that time my name wasn¡¯t Voilong, but Esemanteiv. I always wondered what that name meant. The elders told me the story of how the clan was founded. There was a group of animals that unexpectedly befriended each other. The animals were the following: crocodile, snake, cat, rat, and bird. This was a time before magical beasts existed, so all animals had different social statuses depending on their race. One day, the rat accidentally bumped into a crocodile. The crocodile (not his friend) was enraged, and tried to eat the rat, but the rat¡¯s friends came to fight. The bully croc had his friends fight and overpowered the group of friends. While the group of friends were dying, the Dragon God and his wife the Fairy God took pity on them and told them to give him all of their yin energy. Having no choice, the group of friends combined all of their yin energy and gave it to the Dragon God. With his payment, the Dragon God combined them into one creature. The first magical beast was born. The crocodile was the head, the snake was the body, the rat was the whiskers and eyes, the cat was the legs, and the bird was the plumage on the back of the head. He was now known as Rong, the first magical beast. Each clan member held mixed portions of the original¡¯s power. I had the powers of the crocodile, snake, and bird which gave me (in order)better affinities in water, earth, and wind. This combination would make my race of beastmen classified as a World Dragon, but because of some mutation I became some sort of variant called a Void Dragon. Being the same age, and the fact that none in my clan got close to me due to my position, we became good friends that accompanied each other outside public view. Luckily for me no one ever tried to attack me sexually. Eventually, I was sold to the [Rong of Esemanteiv] clan. Then I met Kai. Then I made my first friend. Then I learnt what happiness was. Then fell in love. Confessing to him one day, both of us planned to run away and elope. However, the security of a famous clan is hard to escape the notice of. Dai started to plan. He researched escape routes, and where to run to. He bribed several guards and others of higher power to assist. He did this for the both of us. I felt helpless, but I continued to support him. Then, on that night, we ran. But we were naive. We were almost caught. We had to hide in a wagon that started to leave. Coincidently it went to where the slave merchant was. I met my mother. She was alone because my father died due to starvation and abuse. Alone, she started to regret selling me away. I forgave her, but I could tell she hasn¡¯t forgiven herself. That night, the three of us ran. The clan pursued us up until we left the eastern kingdom. Going west, we spent 5 years until we settled down. Kai changed his last name to his adventurer name he got when he was in China. Then I learned that I was pregnant. ...wait. How do you raise a child? Side Story 2: Surrounding Perspectives Side Story 2: Surrounding Perspectives ?Leyla''s Perspective? My name is Leyla. I have a happy family with my mother, my husband, and my son. Recently, my son has been acting strangely. Or maybe he has been acting like this the whole time but I just noticed. Every day, my son would rarely come out of his room except for morning practice. Because of this, his skin is bleached a pale white. Although he looks like thin, with his already girly looks, he looks like a very beautiful girl. Aaahhhhh? my son is too cute!!! When I''m in the kitchen, I can hear some noises from his room. Sometimes, he would without warning start celebrating. Other times, he would be so silent you would think he was sleeping. But that was impossible. I check every night and he sleeps a lot, and everytime I visit he''s awake. Really, what does he do in that room of his. I keep feeling fluctuations of the mana flow from there, but it''s so small that I long ago dismissed it as my imagination. Besides, the fluctuations seem to come off that hair of his. I work with another man named Leyland [G] who is the father of the three children. Every day, at 6:00 in the morning, they would do various physical exercises to improve their stats. Then we would cultivate ki and afterwards learn the skills of a tracker and hunter. On the first day though¡­ (Flashback) It was a beautiful morning. The sky was clear, the air was fresh, and the screams of children were loud. The four kids were currently doing a simple obstacle course to determine how far we can push them. Even though she hit places like an eye or leg, the straw enemies don''t care. It seems she got overwhelmed as well. It seems the one with the most battle potential is my son. We can''t defeat the BOSS. Suddenly, hundreds of arrows came from the edge of the core area. It''s the pretty boy! Then I noticed that all of the monsters surrounding us were defeated. I wanted to go thank him, but the BOSS started to chase after him. One of the guards took us away, while the other two went to help the pretty boy. I hope he''s ok. Arc 2 - Chapter 1: Test Chapter 10: Test The continent [Status]. Similar to Pangea, all of the continents were on one piece of land. The territories are divided into four pillars. At the center of these four pillars lies a small territory that acts as a neutral territory. In the neutral territory lies a city ruled by one academy. Under the control of Sekaikoa Academy, the city was nicknamed "Academy City" and it wasn''t long before it became an official name. Academy City took up a huge amount of space, and had more than a million citizens living within the area. In the entire continent, it could be considered one of the top populated cities. Around noon, the carriage from White Paw Village. "Wow!" "Amazing!" "Awesome!" From the walls that surrounded Academy City to the filled streets of the city, it was incredible to people who lived in a tiny village. Of course, because of Soula''s time on Earth, he was already used to a scene like this, so only he was unaffected. "Hurry." Soula quickly gestured the others to where the testing grounds would be. The others snapped out of their daze and followed along. Normally, people who travelled to take the tests would wait in an inn. However the four children lived in a village that was quite far, so it was a very rushed ride. In fact, they just arrived one hour before the test started. The testing grounds were in a building void of windows and glamour. It was a plain and ugly building, but to the observers it was the place that would decide if they would be accepted. After a while, three robed official stepped forth from the building doors. Stopping in front of the crowd, the one at the middle smiled and said in a loud voice, ¡°The assessment ceremony is about to commence. Everyone who is here for the magical branch test, please follow me into the main hall.¡± The man to the left said, "Those who choose the warrior branch follow me to the training grounds around the building. Those who wish to enter the crafting branch follow Ken over to the side hall." Rudy and Ruka left with the warrior instructor, Runa left with the magic instructor, and Soula left with the crafter instructor. Why did they pick these. Setting aside Rudy and Ruka, Runa used ki very similarly to how one casts spells. Also she had a high affinity in arcane. Destruction, which is related to ki, and arcane, related to mana, are ranked as the following:

With the above reason, Runa went to the magic branch. But why did Soula pick crafting. It was because of the fact that he already has more knowledge in warrior and magic training, but not so much on the world''s current technology. Following the official named Ken, all of the crafting entrees moved to the side hall, where there were many empty chairs. The official named ken turned around. "Alright. Everyone, we are going to take a seat, but let me say something first," the man suddenly turned serious. "We do not allow people to purchase their materials from outside sources. All of the items you create must be hunted down by themselves or with the help of other students. Here at school, there is a merit system based on accomplishments. It is used as the currency on school grounds. There are shops where you can buy material, but do not spend till you run out. Those who cannot pay will not be able to support their living conditions." The man suddenly released a murderous aura. "So for all of you people who think this is some easy branch, I recommend you leave right now. You still have to fight, so those who cannot fight or team up with others to fight should leave." Silence filled the air, then about a third of the group started to leave. After the last of the deserters left, the man named Ken started to laugh. "Ahahahah, did you guys see the look on their faces. If they can''t stand that amount of aura, then they won''t amount to much." Looking to us he spoke; "Well congratulations, you all passed the first test. Now the second one will be a bit harder. Crafters in our school come with many different inventions and specialties. So there is no test where we require you to make something. RELEASE THEM!!!"" A signal for the next test. Arc 2 - Chapter 2: The Girl That Stood Out Chapter 2: The Girl That Stood Out Immediately, everyone was scrambling around. Most of them did not even try to attack the straw animals, even though none of the monsters were over level 10. Most of these kids were either from a rich family who never encountered misfortune or apprentices recommended by crafters. The majority of people have never even fought before, so their levels stayed at one. Quickly, the surrounding organizers transported anyone away who seemed like they would be in danger. Even if the enemies were made of straw, they were reinforced with minerals so that magic can keep them alive. This test shows the power of crafters, even from small inventions like straw golems, as well as weeding out the candidates. Soula was among the only few who were able to keep calm and finish the task. "The task is really simple. Most monsters do not have a magic core until after the 2nd gate, but all inanimate objects that rely on mana need a magic core to move. It should be so simple, but why are people running away? Their strength should be a lot stronger than the dogs." Without knowing that not everyone had such a harsh training as his village, Soula kept getting confused by the actions of other participating crafters. Quickly, he activated one of his spells [Sparks]. It was a spell that created small amounts of sparks to build a fire. But because Soula had no affinity with fire, he used light and destruction to control a lightning version of sparks. Burning away nearby golems while avoiding others to not hurt them, Soula hunted efficiently. About half a minute later, Soula gave the required materials to the guide Ken. "Wow, although what you did may not seem significant, you finished this in the fastest time I know. After all, this is a crafting branch so we don''t really see much of what you did. Ok, I now present you your student I.D. and here are some forms you need to fill out." By the time Soula finished his forms, other people started to turn in their items as well. Leaving the building Soula had free time until school started in a month. Unknown to him people had begun to discuss Soula after he left. "Hey, who was that girl?" "She moved so fast and easily completed the task." "Shouldn''t she be at the warrior branch?" Even the professors talked about her. "Who was that girl Ken?" "Let me check her file. Name... age... gender...birth town, oh my." When Ken wasn''t reacting, the first professor asked him if he was ok. "Hahahhahah, oh god. This year might be more interesting than I thought." While Soula was walking, he was pondering what to do next. "Nothing to do for now. The other''s can take care of themselves. What I''m really interested in is what the monsters in the forest near us are like. Might as well go myself and let loose." Soula thought. In truth, although he loved the peaceful times, he was growing slightly restless without a challenge. So Soula went to the nearest forest outside the city walls. Upon entering the forest, he received a new notification.

''If it was a few years ago, I probably would not be able to take this on, but now I can. Now, time to see how far this body can take," Soula thought as he went in. ¡­¡­¡­. One week has passed since he entered the Dark Leaved forest. Now that no one can really keep watch on him, Soula had trained like mad increasing his skill levels and stats to monstrous numbers. If Soula had taken warrior training, he would''ve learned that on the qi ranking chart from 1st - 10th rank he would''ve been at the 4th rank. In this world, training methods on qi cultivation were much weaker than on Earth. Qi was basically life force that can be gathered from the world. Because Soula had a good affinity with the natural forces of life: water, earth, and wind it was easier to absorb ki than many other people. So it was easier to fight against monsters with huge level differences, plus his [Godslayer] skill.
Godslayer [Rank SSS] Lv: 2 Show no fear. Fight those stronger than you. For every Gate you are weaker than your opponent, you gain 20% to all stats (Ex: 1st Gate human v.s. 10th Gate monster, the 1st Gate''s stats increase by 180%) Raises probability of acquiring new beast spirit by 20%.
Against level 60 monsters, his attack range would be 9044-9585. Most monsters have about 1000 defense for every gate, so Soula can easily fight on even grounds against most of the monsters. During this time, Soula tried to revive his previous life''s martial skills. Although he knew how to execute the techniques, his body was not trained to use most of what he knew.

Arc 2 - Chapter 3: The Mortal Gorgon Chapter 3: The Mortal Gorgon For the past month, Soula has been training all of his stats and skills. Now nearing the end of the month, he thought that he should end it by getting his second beast spirit. Soula already reached the 2nd gate around the end of the month. "Now, what monster should I absorb?" thought Soula as he jumped from tree branches, never touching the ground. For the last week, Soula has searched for subtle monsters that he could absorb. Ruling out the common monsters, he checked for elite and rare monsters, but couldn''t find any BOSS monsters. As he drew deeper and deeper into the dungeon, Soula encountered one bloody, cruel battle after another. He experienced many ambushes from monsters and bandits. After all of these battles, the wounds and scars on his body grew more plentiful, but not enough for people to notice. Right now, Soula was hidden in the middle of many leaves, staring straight down at the ground. Just a few dozen feet away from the tree which he was hiding in was a small group of giant birds. Because of his bird race affinity, and the fact that the monsters easily camouflaged into the background, he kept looking for a bird-type monster that had good hiding abilities.

While he was surprised, Medusa used her skill [Petrification] to attack the group of Mana Blended Chickens. Without struggle, the chickens were turned to stone, but strangely only parts that seem to be visible from Medusa''s point of view. "What a powerful opponent." thought Soula. Quickly turning around to escape, he didn''t notice that Medusa has already had her sights on him. Once again activating [Petrification] she fired her skill at the unguarded Soula. Soula was helpless as his back, which seemed like it turned to stone was actually covered by an earthen layer that immobilized him. Falling, Soula activated the ki in his body to destroy the layer of earth. It should''ve been easy, but the layer was very dense. Although it took a few seconds to destroy it, that was all the time it took to activate another skill. Suddenly Soula was overcome with a horrible sense of impending doom. Unable to control himself, he felt as though he would die any minute.

Shaking himself, Soula thought quickly about his options. "Right now, my [Godslayer] skill counters her de-buff. All of my stats are increased by 140% because of the skill, making my stats 190% my original stats. I have around 4111-4357 attack so my new stats are around 7811-8278 ki-infused attacks not including my skills. As long as I don''t get hit by a certain death skill." Soula thought as he backed away. Some skills can have certain death. Medusa''s skill {Death Light} was one of the most famous certain kill moves. Right now, both sides were at a stalemate. Both were coincidently thinking of the same thing. "How does a mere beastman have the legendary [Godslayer] skill." thought Medusa. Several lifetimes ago, she had died to the same skill. Since then, she never took any enemy, no matter how weak, lightly ever again. Both sides can insta-kill the other, but both haven''t realized that the opponent knows about their main skills. "I''ll just use a long range move," Soula decided. Calling his mana, he formed a few hundred arrows and fired them all at once. Coincidently, this was also the time Medusa fired her death magic. [Spiral Arrows] v.s. {Death Light}. Although no damage would''ve been taken, it would''ve still add elemental status effects like burn, freeze, etc. However, most of the arrows were blocked by {Death Light}, so both sides were at a tie still. Using [Energy Blade] Soula created a qi blade. Unlike the mana blade, the qi blade had more flexibility over it''s form. Something made out of mana is hard to manipulate its shape unless it was during casting. If her uniform wasn''t dark blue and instead deep red, then the two girls would be undistinguishable. "Ruka, calm down. You''re drawing attention," said a boy that looked similar to them, except for the cat ears and tail he had. He also looked like the same age. These children were the triplets Rudy, Runa, and Ruka. They were currently waiting for Soula, who they have not seen the whole month. When they discovered that he had left them, they thought that they might meet at the opening ceremony. "But he''s still not here. The opening ceremony is going to start soon. How hard is it to find a beautiful eastern boy," complained Ruka. ???: "Quite hard when everyone thinks I''m a girl." Turning to the voice, all three of them see Soula. He was dressed in the same clothes from one month ago, washed and ripped the whole time in the forest. His clothes made him look like a beggar, albeit a cute one. "Soula, you''re here." "Where were you? Did some perverted noble set his eyes on you?" "Finally you''re here." Meeting with his friends again, all four childhood friends were finally reunited. There were no classes this day; those would start the next day. Today was meant to go and listen to the rules of school management and have a tour of the school. This group consisting of children to elderly filled the auditorium. When the ceremony concluded, all of them happily departed. Touring the school, Sekaikoa Academy lies at the heart of Academy City. Having a reputation as one of the best schools, money was not a problem for them. While the city had a wall, the school had a maintained magic barrier with enough buildings inside for a large village. Several industries such as a general store or a cafeteria were spread around the academy. People could live on school campus and they would have no need to leave. After the tour, the four children went to find a place to live at during their school year. "Hey guys, our student I.D. only has 1000 credits each. Lets go find an inn to stay for a while and worry about living conditions when we earn more credits," explained Soula. On campus grounds, items were purchased with credits. You can earn credits in various ways, but without it you are no different than a beggar. 1 credit can buy you a drink. 100 credits can let you stay at a nice hotel for a day. Basically a credit is worth around a U.S. dollar on earth. ¡°"Why can''t the school just use the common currency,¡± complained Rudy. The common currency for the whole continent was the copper-silver-gold coin system. With the 100 ratio, a copper is about a dollar while a silver was about 100 dollars. ¡°The school wants to minimize contact with real money from the students because it can be involved in shady dealings. Plus, the credits can only be used with a student card, and only the owner can use the student card," explained Runa. Stolen story; please report. "Also this way commoners and nobles can start off equally," added Soula. While talking, the four children walked into a wooden inn to check it out. If people were allowed to use money, then there would be a social inequality. While this benefited the commoners, many of the nobles were angry at this. Classes last from 8:00 to 3:00. Each branch schedules their classes differently. For the crafters, their schedule is like this: 8:00-10:00 Battle Training Beginner 10:00-11:00 General Studies 11:00-12:00 Material Gathering 12:00-1:00 Free Time 1:00-3:00 Inventing Beginner Soula has just entered his first class at the crafter''s beginner class. There were about thirty others there, but most of them were older than their teenage years. Only some new students were the same age as Soula. "Alright, all the new students are here," said a man at the front. "I know some of you already know each other, but for the new students everyone will make introductions. Announce your name, age, where you''re from, and an interesting fact. New students go to an empty seat and just sit down." As everyone introduced themselves, it was now Soula''s turn. "My name is Soula Voilong. Although my parents were born in the east, I was born and raised in the west. I am seven years old, and I wanted to join this class because I lack knowledge on the world''s current technology progress." After hearing the introduction, most people thought the same thing: "He''s a country bumpkin." Ending introductions, the instructor started a lecture on what they would be doing in class for the rest of the year. At around 9:00 the instructor told everyone that they would go to where Battle training is. At a courtyard, the instructor continued, "Ok, those who already took this class go train. New students, just watch." The senior students started training. Some trained their skills, some cultivated mana or ki, some did exercises to increase their stats. "Most of you will have free time. Those who lack will have extra lessons. We will not grade your physical status, but this is because you will be graded on the materials you get. What you hunt will be graded, so battle training is necessary to pass this class." After the training session finished the senior students took a quick rest, then the instructor guided us to a forest. "This is the only place other than the underground dungeon that has wild monsters. The dungeon is called Material Haven. To move to the next class, you have to pay 1,000,000 credits and have created 100 inventions in class. Most of you will not pass in one year, but you should still work hard." Every time the school year ended, the four friends would return and spend time with the village for a month. As they grew, their knowledge and power also grew. Today is the time when school starts again. At school, they are known as the four friends who quickly advanced grades in their respective branches. Entering the third year, it was now August 1 on the year 10000. During the past three years, a lot has happened at school. While Soula generally didn''t actively attempt to socialize much, he was popular with many other students. His skills in class has shown his talent allowing him to progress quickly up to the third grade. Originally not from this world, Soula has introduced many new concepts, such as toys, recipes, and tools. But entering the third grade, this was the point where the level of difficulty skyrocketed. To all students, generally once you''ve entered the third grade, that was when you would have to start to have real life lessons. For every student at the third grade and up, there will be many occasions in which their lessons involve dealing with the outside world. Although Soula is stronger than anyone under level 1000, the outside world has many people who can easily defeat him. He may be strong for his age, but he shouldn''t get arrogant and die due to a mistake. ¡­¡­¡­¡­¡­¡­¡­ On the first day of school, Soula went to the intermediate crafting course. Because of the difficulty to advance a grade, there was only one other person he knew in class. "Oh, hey Soula. So you''re here as well," said a nearby boy. Soula politely replies, "Oh hey Regi. So you also advanced a grade." Regi was Soula''s only friend in class. He was an 11 year old dwarf that looked like a 6 year old eastern boy with slightly pointed ears. Both of them had become friends when they often had to work together on complex assignments. Regi had higher knowledge on crafts and better dexterity. Soula had otherworld knowledge and the strength to hunt for materials. Because of this, both often worked together. Both of them started chatting about small affairs and school events. When class started, the instructor, a new teacher named Mary, started lessons. "In one week, all third years will be able to take quests issued by the adventurers guild and crafters guild. Because none of you are able to take quests that need to take time off school unless you''re at a high level, it is recommended to only take craft requests." On the continent, there are various guilds that issue requests. Students can take quests as well as long as it doesn''t hinder their studies. "During this week, it is highly recommended to find people from other branches and form a team together. If you wish to join a clan, please notify me so I can record this down. Dismissed." Unlike guilds, clans are groups formed by people who follow a goal together. There are various clans. Although it was a simple two story, because it was bought on academy grounds it is one of the most expensive buildings a student can buy. "Wow, your friends must be really rich," Regi commented. "Actually, I bought the house while they bought the furniture. After all, we did make a lot of money from the water well pump idea those merchants bought." "Well, I spent my money to go to the next grade and to lend some to a sibling of mine." Noting something he said, Soula turned to him. "Sibling? If you have a sibling why don''t you team with him?" "Because he started this year, he needed some money to have a stable living condition. By the way, he''s in the crafting branch." As they finished their conversations, they just entered the house. Inside, no one was there except Runa who was currently reading a book on a wooden chair. "Hey Runa, where are the others?" asked Soula. Looking up, she replied, "All of the other''s are taking extra lessons on ki control. They should be back in about an hour.¡± Noticing Regi she inquired, "and who is this?" "He''s my friend. I want to ask if it''s possible to have him on our team." Taking a moment to think, she replied, "Ok, why not. Why don''t we ask the other''s first though." "Oh, ok. Hey Regi, why don''t you introduce yourself...Regi?" Soula turns noticing that Regi was awfully quiet the whole time. Going up to introduce himself, he stammered, "Uh. m-my name i-is Regi Terrafield. Waving his longsword, he announced, ¡°This magic sword is a Tier 5 weapon that costed me a fortune. I don¡¯t want your blood soiling it¡¯s appearance.¡± Enraged, Afolabi shouted, ¡°What an arrogant man you are. I¡¯ll teach you to respect your elders.¡± ¡°Is he an old man or something?¡± the crowd thought. The announcer started off the countdown, ¡°Alright, start in 3, 2, 1, GO!¡± Facing off each other, Afolabi instantly put up a [Mana Shield] and fired off a [Fireball]. Akim sneered, then slashed apart the fireball dispelling it. ¡°Is that the best you got old man.¡± ¡°Look behind you,¡± replied Afolabi. Turning around, Akim didn¡¯t realize that it was a simple ploy until he noticed the projectile flying towards him. It seems Afolabi fired off a spell while Akim was distracted. Hurriedly blocking the spell, upon contact the sword started to rust until it disintegrated into dust. Shocked, Kaito Amethyst/Soula watched the battle with more attention. It seemed that the mage was adept in using void spells. Honestly, Soula had little knowledge in void as he never trained in the void element in his last life. ¡°What kind of spell was that, you destroyed my sword,¡± the shocked Akim was enraged. That sword costed him over 10,000 gold. To think that it would be destroyed to the extent of turning into dust angered Akim greatly. ¡°Hahahahahha, that¡¯s what you get for not taking this seriously. That was a Rank 8 spell [Disintegrate].¡± Showing off, Afolabi was taking this chance to take revenge on Akim. ¡°DIE OLD MAN!!!¡± Losing all control, Akim was suddenly surrounded in a large wild amount of qi. But it was worth using my trump card on a brat like you.¡± As if acting in defiance towards those words, Akim dispelled the pillar of light. ¡°WHAT!!! IMPOSSIBLE!¡± Coming from the light was an unharmed Akim. It seems that no damage was taken at all. Wiping off some dirt, Akim replied, ¡°How dare you dirty my body. The punishment for this is DEATH!¡± With that, a large amount of ki was compressed into a projectile. Flying, it pierced Afolabi through the heart. ¡°Die, old man.¡± Silence surrounded the arena. Titans are one of the strongest monsters of the giant race. Their regeneration allows to heal severed limbs in seconds by growing a new one. His brother, the former commander, was killed by Akim when he wanted him for his beast spirit. Seeking revenge, he trained until he acquired his brother¡¯s position.
Those who saw the monster instantly paled. An 8th Rank monster at the doorstep of becoming a 9th Rank monster. Also an elite titan, one of the strongest monsters due to their regeneration. Even a saint level combatant might have trouble with such an opponent. Memories are now able to be manipulated and stored into parts of your mind. You can view your memories with perfect recall, as well as remember details recorded by your subconscious. As the skill level increases, so does options on storing memories.

Going to the Nacil Church, Soula once again transformed into Kaito Amethyst, but this time he used light magic due to the fact that¡¯s he¡¯s going into a church. With a few modifications to the spell making light distort his image, it wasn¡¯t that hard. Why is he going to the Nacil Church? Obviously it¡¯s for the Holy Baptism. A Baptism is when those who have natural master affinity in any element bestow a blessing on someone. The blessing only works once, and the increase in the affinity is random, but almost anyone would want a Baptism. That¡¯s why those with master affinity are always sought out for. Of course Soula knew this, which is why he should make sure no one ever finds out about his duo-master affinity. Who knows what an uproar he would create. Inside, Soula met the MC from the Arena, although he was wearing the traditional acolyte clothes. ¡°Oh, you¡¯re here. I¡¯m here to confirm that the Nacil really awarded you. Also I¡¯m part of the Nacil Church anyways so I¡¯m allowed into the church. Just wait here for the Head Priest to come out.¡± After a few minutes, the Head Priest came out. He was an old man around the 40¡¯s. With pointed ears and green skin, it showed that he was a forest elf. ¡°Hello, my name is Michael.¡± Reaching out his hand, Amethyst and Michael shook hands. ¡°For winning the Grand Tournament, I will bestow upon you the Holy Baptism. Note that the effect is random so whatever you get, you have to deal with it.¡± Taking his hand back, he held both arms together and started chanting. Usually people would train their skills and qi/mana reserves before training their [Oversoul] but Soula was more interested in training his level as he never had such a system in his previous life. ¡°During the update, there will be many changes to the current system, so might as well train now. If training stats become harder after the update, then this is the most crucial time to train stats now. I can always easily train qi and mana,¡± thought Soula. Taking the time to enter the material gathering forest of the academy, Soula hunted all of the monsters to extinction. Taking all of the rare materials and EXP, Soula practically cleared half of the forest¡¯s population. Nowadays, each monster gave about 10-15% EXP, so Soula¡¯s level quickly reached 400. Entering the higher leveled areas, he started searching for a subtle monster to absorb. ¡°It¡¯s been 3 days already. Hopefully I can find a beast soul to absorb before the update comes.¡± Searching at the center of the forest, he chanced upon three dragons. One was a golden dragon that he knew was proficient in magic. Another was a red dragon with a large amount of power and speed. The last was an azure dragon, who seemed to be the leader of the three. Soula felt that he had little time left, so he dismissed the notifications that came up. What he didn¡¯t know was that the three dragons in front of him were in the levels between 93-99, but due to his recklessness and sense of urgency he didn¡¯t check. Unleashing his full strength, Soula entered a battle against the three dragons with all of his mana and qi he could muster. Skipping an hour later, Soula was in the center of the three dragon¡¯s bodies in a meditative position. ¡°Gotta hurry. What if I don¡¯t get the rewards when the system updates.¡± As he didn¡¯t kill the dragons yet, he did an unbelievable thing that normal residents of the world wouldn¡¯t attempt. Killing one dragon, he absorbed the soul quickly and efficiently with his overpowered soul level. Reaching the 4th Gate, he rapidly killed the other dragon and rose to Level 500 by consuming the two dead dragon¡¯s monster cores, which were perfect for quick rises in level if you survived. Due to his holy baptism, Soula was now able to cast high powered healing spells on himself, which quickly destroyed and repaired his body at a rapid pace. Absorbing the second dragon, he reached the 5th Gate. Taking the life of the azure dragon, Soula consumed the whole bodies of the three dragons taking his level to a rapid increase to the 6th Gate. This whole process was incredibly dangerous. Soula has never received formal training as a mage except from a few textbooks he received in his previous life. He barely had a need for mana except for when he became a deity in his previous life as qi was his main source of energy. ¡°I want you to delete all of your spells from your spell list and start over as a mage.¡± ¡°Ehh, but that seems like a waste.¡± ¡°How? You know the theory behind them so you can just learn them again with the proper understanding. Also, as he was slightly connected, he was used to using the slang and terms from several of Soula¡¯s memories. ¡°Call the incarnation in your mind. Now visualize the effect of the incanation. Try to get rid of the unnecessary work and figure out a simple solution.¡± Most spells were formulas that had to be worked out to use. An example to understand is a fireball spell. X is the solution, so a fireball spell might have the following formula: (3x + 7x)x - 7x +1 ...which can be turned to: 10x2 - 7x + 1 = (2x - 1) (5x - 1) x = ? & ? So a fireball spell has a chance to do a maximum of ? damage or a minimum ? damage. But all of this is just a comparison and the laws of mana are not as easy to figure out as a algebra question. Basically, Soula had to relearn all of his spells from the beginning and how the effects are made. A simple rank 1 spell has a 10 steps to simplify, while a relatively powerful rank 9 spell might have 1,000,000,000 steps to simplify. In general, all Soula was doing was making his spells easier to cast and have more efficiency which wasn''t too hard considering that he already unconsciously did that with more uses of the spells. Now it is possible for Soula to cast around 2000 arrows using only 1 MP with no cooldown and a castime limited to his reactions only. Each damage was now about 5 times the strength of his original spell, so even though he only has a single spell now, Soula had more firepower than all of his previous spells combined. Generally all mastered spells would reach the Saint Tier, but barely a few hundred exist throughout the world. The next spell he mastered was [Gravity Burden] and [Mana Shield + Barrier EX] seemed to also be mastered soon. For [Gravity Burden] he needed the spell to help train his body, so now the spell evolved into [Gravity Control] a very useful Saint Tier Spell. Combining the steps for creating [Mana Shield + Barrier EX] added up to a total of around 1,292,134,210 steps. Even though the skills were relatively similar making simplifying similar, it still took all he could to simplify the steps into around a 1000 steps creating the spell [Protect]. The strongest people in the village were the students that went to Sekaikoa Academy and their parents. As a side note, Soula''s father and the triplet''s parents are all 8th rank warriors while Soula''s mother is a 7th rank Mage and his grandmother a 8th rank Mage. "What about the church Paladins? Didn''t they send some when they built the church?" When Soula returned home 5 years ago, the Nacil Church came and discussed several business deals. One of Soula''s requests was to create a branch church to improve the village''s economy. A church has many healers and Paladins, and they also take in orphans as well as give basic education. That was one of the main reasons Soula asked for the construction of a church. The church has long ago sent an army of 8 priests and 15 paladins. Most were just a bit stronger than the town guards, but they should''ve been able to at least hold off most of the attackers. "I dunno, last I heard was they went into the forest to train.
