《Edelinferno》 Prologue: Society should just collapse "The world is perfect but society is not. In this world many people complain and say that the world is unfair, cruel, or some other insult they can throw in. But that is wrong. The world is perfect, its just so profound people can''t understand its greatness. If you think about it, the fact that you can see the sunrise in every dawn accompanied by cool breeze that brushes to your skin and cheeks. The rustling of leaves from trees and crops as if they''re singing in a choir. The fact that I''m alive to partake and witness this elegance. Few of the things that you can appreciate in your life that will never run out no matter how much you indulge in it. So how come many people complain about the world and turn a blind eye in its gifts? Its because of the society built by selfish people for other selfish people. If you scrutinize it, society is flawed in structure. Apparently its built for the sake of its citizens but that''s not what I see. They teach you to work hard in schools and study so you''ll have an edge in others and become winners but not for the sake of bettering yourself. The mentality that you should be above others and become winners to become successful in life is ingrained since childhood. What foolishness, because its impossible for everybody to become winners there will always be losers, that is a universal fact. Competition is good but using it as the basic structure of society is not, the mentality that if you can''t win your life is worthless is the reason why lots of people become suicidal, defiant, criminals and go to the dark side. Few of the reasons why people lose sight of what''s important in life. Wasn''t it ironic that the society that''s supposed to take care of its own citizen was the reason for their depravity? This walls that''s supposed to protect us was turned to walls that cage and isolate us from the brilliant world. Then doesn''t that mean that the average happiness of all animals in the wild is greater than the average happiness of all humans in society? Conclusion, society should just collapse." *ding~ dong~* History Teacher: "Alright everyone time''s up, chairman please collect the essays and bring it to me in the faculty." Chairman: "Okay, Sir" Finally this accursed class is over. Damn school forcing me to attend classes in Sunday just because I failed a test. Chairman: "Hello?" I have a cold at that time why can''t they understand? If not for that I might even perf... Chairman: "Hello, pass me your essay!" Protagonist: "Eh? ah, um, here. " The protagonist passed his essay. The guy who looks like mentally ill and talking to himself for a while now is Juan Legaspi. Son of an OFW(Overseas Filipino Workers) father and mother. He''s been raised by his Grandmother till age 16 when she passed away. Since then he''s been living alone for 2 years. Now he is a 2nd year student in Narra Academy Senior High School. Maybe its because he''s living alone for 2 years or because he doesn''t have any friends but he had a habit of talking to himself, a lot. Now if only I can eat it in silence in my best place.*sigh* Damn rain. Damn noisy people, can''t you eat in silence, especially Kenneth group? The ones Juan referred to as the Kenneth group is the people who''s the most noisiest in this supposed to be quiet Sunday remedial class. The center of the group, Kenneth Kaakit a good looking guy and the ace of basketball club. Eusabelle Expresar, a stylish half-Spaniard who''s clearly has a crush for Kenneth. Leonard Lumundag, Kenneth''s tall, stoic childhood friend, basketball clubs Captain. Alma Alindog and Aileen Alindog, twins that hang out with the group, basically Eusabelle''s lackeys. Eusabelle: "Isn''t it great that its raining? Its make the room cool, right Kenneth?" Lies, you don''t like the rain at all. You just complained that the rainy season is annoying yesterday right? Kenneth: "Eusabelle is right, its nice eating lunch with the rain. Its kind of elegant with the rainfall as background." If you think its elegant stay silent! Leonard: "..."*Nods* If only everyone is like you.*sigh* Aileen: "Yes! It''s elegant and kind of romantic right?" Alma: "Um, its used in songs, sad love songs." Quite the polar opposite as always. Are you really twins? Juan sighs and looks up in the sky. Minus the noise, the raindrops orchestra really is soothing indeed, simple and elegant. Suddenly, a crack of red lightning sparked the sky its thunder resounding to the whole of Narra Academy''s Senior High and Junior High. After the spark of lightning the sky turned bright crimson without any signs of dark clouds along with the sound of rain. Each students looked at it like deer in headlights till maybe an instant , a minute or an hour as if time flows differently at that moment no one knows. Then the dark clouds returned in existence accompanied by the sounds of raindrops as if the bright crimson sky is nothing but an illusion. But it is not, everyone is sure of it because of the blue screen floating in front of their vision.

......... ...... ... Juan: "Haaaaaaaaah!?" Kenneth: "Everyone run to the cafeteria!" Haaah!? Well, I don''t understand why, but everyone seems to follow Kenneth''s order so I have no choice but to ride this big wave. Well not really BIG including me its only 10 people after all. With Kenneth''s group leading the way while yelling the same thing to other 3 classrooms that they passed. *Sounds of wood breaking and something heavy hitting the floor* A sound coming from behind them, specifically Juan''s classroom. Everyone twisted their neck and looked behind them while running. What they saw is the head of something that you sometimes see in your house if its dirty enough, a rat. Except its very big, the size of a tiger you see in a zoo and it looks intimidating unlike the cute and tiny house mouse.

*skreeeeeeeee* With a resounding screech that''s so loud it might break the glass windows and the eardrums of the students it stepped out of the room. This action made the students run faster than normal with absolute fear and panic painted in their expressions. They ran to the stairs with single-minded desperation especially Juan. He ran akin to a sprinter in the hallway and going as far as skipping 3 steps in the stairs while completely filtering out any information in his vision other than the direction of the cafeteria. The cafeteria is an isolated building from the main school building. Positioned in the north east of the main building. After exiting the main building, fires and smoke from explosions in the cityscape is visible even in the middle of rain fall, after all Narra Academy is built on top of a small hill. But Juan and most of the students ignored the scenery and focused on running to the cafeteria. It might be because its the last instruction they heard before panicking or maybe because its from a charismatic person like Kenneth, everyone ran to the cafeteria like its a piece of heaven in hell. Ah, I reached the cafeteria. Entering the cafeteria Juan''s knees trembled and he flopped down the floor with a slight slosh sound from his slightly drenched clothes. A moment later the others followed. *ding* Juan: "Hiieeeee!" Making a scream akin to girl, Juan attracted the attention of others making them tense. But he just waved his hand with a very crooked smile indicating that its nothing and everybody relaxed. While the others are catching up to their fatique and Kenneth''s group closing the doors, Juan focused in the blue screen that suddenly appeared in front of him while lying on the floor.

......... ...... ... The hell is this skill? Its so lame, makes me look like a coward. Well, beggars can''t be chosers and it might save my life someday. More importantly, what the hell is a skill? Is it like in games? Then why do I have it? I''m sure I''m not dreaming, or maybe I am? Am I finally going crazy? Or it has nothing to do with me but the world laws that I''m familiar with changed? So many questions but no answers damn. At least I have some theories. And I think I am not the only one who got a skill. Observing the facial expressions and eye movements of other students, Juan can guess they must have gained a skill similar to him or at the very least a blue screen is in front of them. Some wore surprised expressions some were confused but one thing is similar, their eye movement looks like theyre reading something, even Kenneth is the same. Now I feel better. *bam* *bam* Everybody stiffened up at the banging sound coming from the door. Some guy: "Is there anybody in there? If there is please let us in! There are slimes chasing us!" Heh, if there are slimes chasing you then we won''t open the door stupid! In the firs... Juan: "Ah." Kenneth moved to open the door while Leonard is standing in the door side holding a mop in some kind of a baseball stance. *door swings open* As the door opens a flood of people entered like a zombie wave and with zombie like expressions in their faces. As the last person enters, a single slime hopped in the cafeteria. At that moment Leonard who''s holding a mop, swings it to the slime with all his might before it can hop again. *bam* The slime flew outside while the mop cracked a little. Kenneth immediately closed the door and locked it. Damn, its somewhat frustrating but thats slightly cool. Is that a coordination born from playing basketball since childhood? *bam* *bam* *bam* The sounds of banging in the door eventualy stopped and only the sound of raindrops remained. Everyone let loose the tension they uncosciously holding. Some girl:"Oh my God, Just what is happening!" Hmm? Oh its one of the people in the zombie wave. A lady with slighly drenched school uniform is kind of hot, minus the crying. That scream made everyone wear a grim and sad expression some even cried and had tears in their eyes. They''re probably remembering the scenery of chaos in cityscape. A guy got closer to the girl who screamed that is now sobbing, trying to console her. Now that I look closer aren''t they the student council president and vice president? If I remember correctly their names are Jesper and Grace. Narra Acamedy High School Student Council consist of 5 members respectively the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and the general affairs. Jesper Jelos a glasses-wearing honor student and the president of the council. Grace Grasya another glasses-wering honor student and the vice-president. The other 3 are busy this Sunday so they are not here in the school, fortunately or unfortunately. Jesper: "Its alright we''re safe now plus there are lot of us and maybe help will come soon." Its too optimistic to assume that this place will remain safe forever though. Plus I wonder, would help even come? Grace: "Hm?" Oh, looks like some of the zombie wave people also got the flee skill. Hoho, as expected its similar to a game. Kenneth: "What should we do?" Jesper: "I think its better if we confirm our current situation first. Its better if we can calmly think what''s happening." Oh, as expected of the president, how responsible. Jesper looked at the 66 people inside the cafeteria. After everyone gave a nob and a tiny voice of affirmation, Jesper made a firm nod and adjusted his glasses. Jesper: "First of all, did everybody saw the red sky?" Ah, that huh. Everybody either nodded or said yes in a weak tone. Jesper: "I see, then its alright to assume that you also saw that blue window." Eusabelle: "What''s written in there is a joke right? I mean an apocalypse is..." Grace: "Then how will you explain those monsters!? I... I saw them rip off the limbs of some of us running here! *sob* I... I saw and I still ran. Ignoring their screams of help!" I see so they lost some while running huh. That statement made the already heavy mood more heavier. Some looks like they''ve fallen in despair, some have a hint of determination in their eyes and some started crying. This is bad, I can''t have them continue this downward spiral of despair. I need a distraction. Ah, right there is that! Juan: "He... hey everyone why don''t we eat first? After all its lunch time and we''re in the cafeteria. Let''s all calm down okay?"*crooked smile* Everyone looked at Juan with skeptical eyes. Ch.2: Cafeteria Battlefront 2 After Juan''s suggestion everyone is dubious, but thanks to Jesper and Kenneth everyone agreed, albeit reluctantly. Jesper: "Thank''s for the suggestion, I hope it will lighten the mood. Um..." Juan: "Its Juan. Don''t need to thank me. It''s an emergency after all." Jesper: "Still, thank you Juan. I''m also hungry after all! I almost forgot ahahaha. " If that mood continues I think even I will get depressed. Plus I can''t have them turn to useless bums. In this situation we need manpower especially for that "Territory Quest". Everyone went to the cafeteria counter to get some food. As they neared the counter everyone can hear a faint sound coming from beyond it. All of them tensed. Jesper with soft steps, moved closer to the counter and everyone followed. At the end of their vision, they found... a sleeping person. Its one of the cooks of the cafeteria, a middle aged man named Fernando Fanala. He''s sleeping in a reclining chair, he''s even slightly snoring with a loose expression in his face like there''s nothing wrong in the world. Now that I think about it, the cafeteria is open when we arrived so its natural there is someone inside but still. How the hell can this guy still sleep? Through all this chaos? Even with that loud scream earlier? Now, I know its still only just a bit over 20 minutes since all this ridiculous situation started but why still asleep? Don''t tell me its because the rain damped the sound. The rain sure is loud but not that loud! Jesper: "Its the cook, and he''s sleeping." Juan: "Yeah I can see that." Kenneth: "He looks peaceful." Everyone is a little dumbfouded by the sleeping cook but because of it the students tension lowered just a little bit. Some had their expression soften while some just sighed. Its a good situation. Jesper went and tried waking up the cook by calling him from the counter but to no avail. He went over the counter and tried shaking the cook off of his slumber. It took a lot of shaking and the cook slightly opened his eyes and looked at Jesper. Jesper: "Good Afternoon sir Fernando. " Fernando: "Ah its the president, Good Afternoon." The cook sits up and looked in his surroundings. He''s a little surprised to see a lot of students close to the counter but he calmed down after a while with a nod. Fernando: "So its already lunchtime huh." The cook is about to stand when his expression looked a little surprised and he whispered "Territorial Quest?" while stroking his beard.At that moment Jesper volunteered to explain the situation to him and what they''re about to do now. Fernando listened while changing his expression to surprised, skeptical and finally grim. Fernando with a firm nod stood up and said to everyone to get some trays and plates. Thus he began serving everyone the food that he already prepared for a supposed tobe usual peaceful lunchtime. ......... ...... ... Juan: "Hmm..."

Similar to a game I also have status huh. I tried thinking of commands from RPG''s as many as I can think of but it seems only "Status", "Quest", and "Skill Details" work . Too bad the "Pause" command doesn''t work. I wonder if "Party" commands work. I want to try but I don''t have anyone to invite. Juan: "Hmm, this curry is delicious." When most of the students is done eating, Jesper stood up and faced them. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Jesper: "Okay, everyone now that almost everyone is done eating, let''s continue our discussion from before." At that words the atmosphere tensed, but not so heavy compared to a little while ago. Jesper: "As I said before we need to confirm and have a clearer understanding of our current situation. And as everyone have already guessed, we''re in a middle of a something trial called "Apocalypse"." The atmosphere got a little heavier. Jesper: "But that''s not our problem, thats for the adults and the government to handle. There is also that "Territory Quest" but our current problem is food and security. We currently have enough food to last all of us for 5 days that is assuming we conserve and the electricity services don''t go down. Now if it goes down then we can only last for 3 days including today, we''re going to distribute the food assuming this scenario and serve food that might spoil without the fridge and conserve snacks and goods that last long." Jesper readjusted his glasses. Jesper: "Now any good ideas for our next course of action?" Everybody looked down with different expressions, some looked lost while some looked comtemplating on something and some talked with their friends. Among that crowd only one person looked up in the cieling as if he''s eyes pierced it, looking in the distant skies. It can''t be helped, I''ll say it. Our current situation is similar to mountain weather, you never know when it might go worse. Time is precious so we need to be decisive, its for survival! Juan: "I think we need to set clearing the "Territory Quest" as a goal." Everyone looked at Juan with surprised and dubious expressions. Juan: "To do that we need to beat monsters and get stronger and while doing that we might find a solution for our food problems." Grace: "Are you serious!? You''re saying we need to fight those savage monsters? There''s no way a normal person could beat them!" Juan: "While I agree a normal person can''t do that but I think we can because we''re not normal anymore." Everyone looked at Juan with confused expressions. Juan: "Try saying "Status" while thinking of yourselves." Everyone looks skeptical, but when Jesper tried it, everyone also did the same. To their surprise a blue window revealed itself in front of them. Juan: "That blue screen you see in front of you is what you are now. While that may not be enough to fight those savage monster that vice pres spoke of I think we can at least handle some of those slimes that chased the others here. Plus there''s no guarantee that this place will be safe forever. What are we going to do if something we can''t handle attacked this place? Run off somewhere else? Where? Plus our food is here, we can''t just abandon the cafeteria. What do you think?" Everyone is thinking hard but they still look scared of the outside world, except some. Kenneth: "I think its a good idea. There really is no knowing this place will be always safe and its better to at least do something than nothing right everyone?" Leonard: "Its a good idea." Eusabelle: "We... well if you say so, it can''t be helped." Alma: "Do we really have to do it?" Aileen: "Don''t worry I''ll protect you!" Well I expected this but still, only Kenneth''s group? Boy: "If your going outside to fight then we''ll join you." Oh, three boys who have a determined look in their eyes. They will be reliable.Hmm, how about pres? Jesper: "Its a good idea and I want to go with you but..." Jesper looked at the other students especially Grace. Heh, so that''s how it is. Juan: "I understand its ok. The same goes for the others but remember this, the world has changed and if we don''t try to change to adapt in this world we''ll all die." Everyone just looked down and they look like they''re contemplating something. Hmm, if we do a good job and show everyone our success it might improve their morale. I need to work hard huh. Juan: "Mr. Fernando can we borrow some knives?" Fernando: "Its okay but should I also go with you lot?" Juan: "Really? Thanks, that will be really helpful." Fernando: "Okay lad, but there''s not enough knives for everyone." Juan: "Its okay we can use the mops." Juan went to get the mops, place the head in the floor, he raised his foot and stepped of the neck of the mop. *crack* Juan: "This should do it. To those who don''t want the knives you can do the same to the mops." ......... ...... ... With preparations done the group of brave ones went to face the entrance door. 1 grown man with a butcher knife, 5 boys with kitchen knives and 3 girls with a boy holding a wooden staff. From a strangers point of view we definitely look like criminals, especially serial killers with the knives heh. Still, so we can form a party but only up to 6 people huh. We divided the groups in half so its 5 member per party but I can only see the HP and MP bar of my party members, its a little inconvenient we can''t see Kenneth''s party members. Kenneth: "Do we go now?" Juan: "Ah, its a good time. Haven''t you noticed? The sound of raindrops stopped a while ago. So let''s go hunt some slimes." Juan unlocked the door and opened it. He looked straight ahead with firm determination in his eyes. Same goes for everyone. Everyone: "..." What entered their vision is a scene they never expected... Ch.3: Cafeteria Battlefront 3 A scenery full of green. Just 10 meters ahead of the cafeteria entrance a horde of green slimy blobs are moving around.

*closes door* Jesper: "Hmm? Hey why did you close the door?" Juan: "Everyone use the tables and make a barricade near the counter, there are horde of slimes outside!" Everyone looked shocked but they recovered quickly when Jesper gave his orders. They immediately moved tables and chairs to make something like a pseudo barricade near the counter. Suprisingly enough they moved efficiently and calmly so the barricade''s construction ended swiftly. Strange I''m expecting some of them to panic or something but they followed Jesper''s instructions quickly and the way they move like organized troops is really bizarre. Juan: "Jesper they sure follow you around easilly, as expected of a student council president, and good job at preventing them from panicking." Jesper: "Hmm, I think its because of skill I have called "Command" that they can calmly listen to my orders. It says it prevents slight fear and panic when people are following my orders." Kenneth: "Oh! So you also have the "Command" skill? I also have it too. I got it when we first reached the cafeteria." Huh? Wait a minute, so the skill your looking earlier is not "Flee" but "Command"? Damn I feel betrayed. Why!? Boy: "Heh so you people got a cool skill we three only got the "Flee" skill." Jesper: "I also have the "Flee" skill because I ran along side everyone and I think I got the "Command" when I instructed the others to go here. Well no need to fell down um..." Kevin: "Kevin, Kevin Khel and these two are my friends Junuel Jeepny and Joshua Jalaja." Junuel & Joshua: "Hello." So thats the names of these three. Now that I think avout it I didn''t ask even though we''re in the same party. Fernando: "Well what do we do? There''s a horde of them and I think we don''t stand a chance against those number." Well yeah there''s their numbers but other problems are their level and poison too. Juan: "I think they became that many because of the rain. They''re probably the stragglers that followed pres here and they multiplied because of the rain." Jesper: "Oh you mean similar to that movie Gremlins?" Juan: "Well yeah but only the multiply part. Anyway we''ll open the door again to see how things go. Have the others go behind the barricade." Eusabelle: "Ehh, we''re going to fight those? Impossible!" Juan: "Who said we''re going to fight them? We''re going to collect information on those slimes, its the basics of battles." After Jesper checks that all the other students are behind the barricade he also joined them after wishing the hunting parties good luck. Juan opened the door slightly and peeked outside. Juan: "Similar to earlier, they''re still around 10 meters away. Brace your selves I''ll open the door now." Juan opened the door and set foot outside the cafeteria while keenly observing the slimes. After a few second of nothing happening the others also cautiously stepped outside. Kevin: "They''re not doing anything." Fernando: "They probably can''t see us? I mean they don''t have any eyes." Aileen: "They doesn''t have ears too, so they can''t hear us?" Juan: "But they managed to follow pres'' group here. They must have other forms of detecting their surroundings. At the very least we know its shorter than 10 meters." Juan, while keenly observing the nearest slime, walked another step and another step. This action surprised the others, but after a while they also followed. The group continued walking, getting closer to the nearest slimes. When their distance to the slime became 3 meters the two slimes reacted and started hopping in their direction. Alma: "Th-They'' re coming!" Juan: "Run back to the cafeteria we''ll lure them in then fight them there." Its a good battle plan. We get to isolate these 2 from other slimes and show the other students behind the barricade how we beat monsters and raise the students morale, its killing two birds with one stone. The group ran inside the cafeteria while 2 slimes trailed behind them. Once inside they entered a battle stance, or at least what they think look like a battle stance. Juan: "Don''t be a hero a take hits from them okay! Dodge because your life depended on it they''re LV.8 and got poison!" Eusabelle: "You don''t need to shout so loud we can see that!" Sorry but its necessary I shout out loud so the ones behind the barricade can know that our opponents are dangerous. And if we show them we can beat strong opponents then their morale will greatly improve! The two slimes entered the cafeteria with hopping motion till the distance between them and group is 1.5 meters. Its seems like their gauging their opponents, then suddenly with shaking motion they leaped towards the group covering the 1.5 meters distance easily. One slime targeted Kevin while the other targeted Kenneth. Both of them dodged quite quickly so the 2 slimes only hit the floor. It seems that they''re preparing for a second leap but before they can, Juan charged and thrust the splintered section of the broken mop to a slime then pressed it hard to the floor. Juan: "Those with staffs copy what I''m doing and those with knifes attack now!" Juan''s party members attacked the slime restrained by him with stabs, slices and hacks. The ones on Kenneth''s group managed to leap once more to Aileen but she dodged it quite gracefully and restrained it similar to Juan''s but with the help of Alma and Eusabelle. Kenneth and Leonard then proceed to attack the helpless slime with 3 people restraining it. After a few moments of knifing, the slimes finally stopped moving and became lifeless blobs.

Kevin: "Ohh It says I leveled up!" Everyone had the same reaction as Kevin. So everyone leveled up huh. Thats good, I guess its because we''re in a party and each party killed one slime. Kenneth: "Its quite easy even though they''re LV.8." Fernando: "Its because the lad''s idea of restraining it. Its goin to be hard fightin it while its jumping around." Juan: "I did it because the slime isn''t fast enough to dodge and its weak so it can''t fend me off. I guess its LV.8 because of its poison, maybe its quite deadly and potent." Juan streched his hands and tried using his index finger to poke the slime but he is stopped by Fernando bt grabbing his shoulders. Fernando: "Woah, what are you tring to do lad?" Juan: "It should''t be that bad my HP is still full. If we''re still normal it might be bad but since we have HP its safe to assume we wont die unless our HP hits 0." Everyone still looks reluctant but at least now they''re not trying to stop Juan. Jesper is also coming near the victors, while instructing someone to close the door, to check if they''re alright along with the other students who''s face is plastered with astonishment. Its a good situation. I''ll be able to check how potent the poison is and also show off to the other students. With this they will remember that there is a brave member in this group of survivors. With that I hope their negative attitude disappears. Its killing two birds with one stone. Juan once again streched his arms and index finger to dip it in the poisonous blob. *poke*

Juan''s blood drains from his face and now he looks pale the others became worried and tried to ask if he''s okay. Especially his party members because they can see his HP bar go decreasing at an alarming rate. But Juan can''t hear any of their voices because he is so shocked to the fact that he is going to die because of his own carelessness. While all this all going on 10 seconds quickly pass without a pause mercilessly and Juan is.. still alive and breathing. Huh? I am still alive? Why? Juan opened his status to see why he is still alive. He looked at his HP it says 20. He wondered why there is still 20 left in his Hp for a while. Then he looked at Fernando with an enlightened expression which surprised the cook. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Juan: "Thank you Mr. Fernando, your food saved my life!" Fernando: "Huh what do you mean?" Juan: "This poison decreases your HP by 10/sec and it lasts for 10 seconds. Since I only have 100 HP I thought I''m gonna die! But the status condition Well-fed increased my stats by 120% so I still have 20 hp. Its all thanks to your food!" Kenneth : "Oh, that status condition huh. Now that I remember we also have it." Fernando: "I see if that''s the case I''m glad my food is helpful." Juan: "Ah you have my eternal graditude!"

Juan: "Oh I gained poison resistance!" Kevin: "Really?" Juan: "Ah you should all try it. Gaining this skill will be really helpful in the long run." Everyone felt ecstastic for the prospect of gaining a useful skill but unfortunately not everyone could get it. Apparenty Aileens HP is 90 so with the help of the Well-fed condition she can survive barely. The problem is Alma and Eusabelle. Alma only have 40 HP while Eusabelle only have 60 so unfortunately they can''t poison themselves or else they will die. We also told Jesper about this information and asked the others to gain poison resistance. At first they felt reluctant but after some time they agreed with determination in their eyes while looking at the dead slimes and the people who defeated it. Though only the boys got the chance to try because they have more HP while the girls HP is too low to try. Eusabelle: "Ugh, its so unfair even though we helped defeat it." Kenneth: "Its alright we might find another way for you and the other girls." Hmm, strange how come girls have low HP? I know its not gender based because Aileen have high HP. Maybe because she''s a member of softball club? Juan: "Ahh!" Juan''s loud voice drew the attention of others near him. Then with a grin he went to Aileen. Aileen: "W-what?" Juan: "How high is your body attribute?" Aileen: "Huh? Well its 9 why?" Juan: "I see so thats why. I think I found a solution for the girls to get enough HP to try the poison!" Eusabelle: "What is it?" Juan: "You girls leveled up right? Then you must have gained 5 attribute points. All you need to do is add 3 points to Body ,while Alma adds 5 points, then both of you can survive the poison." Everyone had an understanding expression while nodding, after a while Alma and Eusabelle then succeeded in getting the skill. Jesper: "Now all of most members has low HP except the girls. What do we do now? " Juan: "For now lets move this slime and drain their poison their going to be useful. As for the dried slime remains, dry it under the sun, then we''ll see if it can be used as an emergency food." Fernando: "I think even if you drain its poison and dry it under the sun it will be a little poisonous. " Kevin: "Isn''t that okay? We can grind poison resistance while eating." Joshua: "That''s true but..." Kenneth: "Juan said we''ll think about it later so for now lets drain its poison. Mr. Fernando do you have rubber gloves in the kitchen?" Fernando: "Ah I have one wait a sec." Juan and Kenneth''s party drained the poison in the slimes and then dried it by the window. After that Juan asked everyone and Jesper to have a talk so the went a nearby table and sat down. Jesper: "So what do you want to talk about?" Juan: "Ah its about the attributes. I''ve been thinking about it for a while now since we leveled up. I don''t know what to increase you see. So I want to hear everyone''s thoughts." Jesper: "Hmm I think its a good opportunity to know their effects. The other students are also thinking of forming a party and join you hunting slimes after all especially some of the girls since they probably want to have the poison resistance skill too." Fernando: "So other youngin''s finally showin'' a backbone eh." Kenneth: "That''s good the more of us get stronger the better chances we have at surviving." Juan: "Ah, its a good thing. Now where to start." Everyone then started the discussion about the attributes that will definitely become vital in their current lives. They talked about its possible properties that they can think of and then tested its effects.It took an hour and a half to finish but they got ample results than expected. Apparently the attribute name''s meaning can be taken quite literally. Body is the attribute for anything concerning one''s physical fitness. It determines HP, HP regeneration, half of SP, half of hand-eye coordinttion, strength, defense, and speed. Mind is the attribute for anything concerning the mental fitness. It determines half of SP, memory, reaction time, half of hand-eye coordination, thinking capacity and concentration. Spirit is the attribute for anything concerning spiritual fitness, probably. It determines MP and thats the only thing they found out. It probably has something to do with magic is they''re besy guess since no one can use magic and no one in the group even reached 2 digits on this stat. Well except from someone unexpected. The vice-president Grace, according to Jesper, has the spirit attribute value of 15. Apparently she is an active member of the local church as a member of their choir and a devout believer. They also asked the others for anyone who has a high spirit value. And as expected the ones with high spirit value ranging from 9-12 are active church members. From that they concluded that it really is for spiritual fitness. Kenneth: "It sure took a lot of time but its worth it. Now we have a clearer understanding of our lifelines." Jesper: "What do we do now? Its still around 4 hours before the sun sets." Juan: "Well, you said there are more people who have prospects of joining us right? Then lets strike while the iron is hot." Kevin: "If our troops increase that means we need more armaments... improvised weapons." Kevin, are you by any chance a closet military otaku? Is that why you joined us quickly? Fernando: "Sorry lad we don''t have anymore knives or mops to snap. Hmm, if they don''t mind waving spatulas then we have some." Juan: "Weapons huh where should we get one... " Junuel: "Can''t we just make them? These chairs are attached by screws so if remove them we''ll get some metal rods." Jesper: "You''ll need a screwdriver to do that." Fernando: "Screwdrivers... ah yes, we have some. We use it when some students complain that the chairs are loose." Joshua: "Then let''s already start procuring weapons!" Kevin, Junuel and Joshua then started disassembling some chairs to get some metal rods. Each chair gives four metal rods, though they''re curved weirdly, and trio disassembled 10 so they had 40 metal rods. The new ones who want to join the slime hunting, numbered 24. They already formed 4 parties with with their friends, 6 members each. So they formed parties of 6 before deciding to join huh. Nice judgement. The weapons are redistributed to the 6 parties. Each group got a knife, the four new groups got a staff each and the other members got metal rods. They got briefed about current intel on attribute properties and slimes behavior and the best method to hunt them. Juan: "Everyone listen here''s a tip. The first hunt is important, make sure you succeed for your other members who got HP below 100. Once you kill one you''ll level up once, use your points to increase the body attribute to at least 11 just to be safe. Alright everyone good luck." The 6 parties hunted slimes slowly and carefully. There are some close calls but casualties are avoided because of poison resistance. The first hour is a little slow but everyone reached level 4. With their increased attributes the hunting got easier and easier as time goes by. They hunted the horde of slimes for 4 hours before stopping. Even with 6 parties hunting the slimes, there are still at least a third of them remaining. But they have to stop, the sun is setting and even with rest breaks in-between, hunting for 4 hours is exhausting. Well its not all bad things, after all everyone reached level 8. Also now they had a good amount of slime poison and dried slime. A good reward for their efforts. They returned to the cafeteria with satisfied smiles while carrying their loot in sacks and pails. The start of their first night since the apocalypse begins.
