《New World: Brave Hearts》 Chapter 1: Gods Wrath. Hi, this is KuroAegis here. This will be the first time I''m trying to write a light novel. was inspired by The Gamer, SAO, Maplestory and Monster Hunter. You''ll find some similarities or Ideas taken from these games and manga. English is not my strongest subject and I hope you bear with it. Please feel free to give some advice and suggestions on how to improve. Thank you. I''m looking for someone who can help design a cover page for me, as well as still learning the ropes for this website.
Chapter 1: God''s Wrath. The year was 2059, Earth has finally began its final course towards total destruction. Years of deforestation has left Earth no longer the vibrant planet it once was. Despite the many attempts to save the planet, only 10% of trees are left to care for the planet. Oxygen level reached a critical level, the sea has been transformed to waste water due to newly implemented methods of obtain oxygen from it. Animals go extinct, plants unable to thrive and humans are still rapidly depleting the natural resources. Estimation shows within 6years, humanity will perish in <2066>. Amidst all of these, humanity show little signs of changing. Tai cursed at his luck, being born and barely reaching his youth to just die wasn¡¯t what he expected at all. Tai was only 18years old, standing tall at 1.9m and well built. He wasn¡¯t bulky but lean, muscles developed well in the correct areas. He has been learning kendo since he was a kid and his grandfather was strict in training. The training gave him a great stamina and well-toned muscles which was rare in this time period. Technology has long overtaken and everything was way advance. People rarely walk, reliant on ¡®AutoCraft¡±, thus growing fat. ¡®AutoCraft¡¯ was a tool inserted into the tip of the ears, it acts as a radar for transmission. All communication and teleportation was coordinated via the AutoCraft, with that humans didn¡¯t have to do much. Oxygen was also supplied via the device thus they could still live in the unhealthy environment. Health could also be monitored by it and with the advancement in healthcare as well, people didn¡¯t have to worry about keeping fit. Tai without a doubt also had AutoCraft within his ear, walking towards the National Tree Centre, it was the only place he enjoyed. In his town, there was only 2trees left and was well guarded by the Artificial Intelligence (AI). Since people rarely leave their home, the National Tree Centre was empty. He enjoyed the silence there as well as the air quality, despite getting whatever oxygen he needed from the AutoCraft. He sat down near the display cabinet and slowly thought about the future, what he could do, slowly dozing off. Slight tremors and the thunder clap woke Tai up, rubbing his eyes, he could hardly believe what was happening to him. The sky was blood red, with a deep crack in the middle, bright blinding light spreading out. Thunder strike and lightning flashed, the earth slightly rumbling. The air became abnormally chilling and Tai found it hard to breathe. He was struggling to understand what was happening right in front of his eyes. Suddenly, a warm feeling engulf him as he found himself feeling relax despite what was happening. The warm feeling guarded him against the chilling air and somehow he felt safe. A bright ball of light came floating down the sky, echoing out loud. ¡°Earth was once a heaven for all lifeforms and now with the destruction the human had caused it become completely inhabitable. Animal and plant species slowly dying off or went extinct and yet you human continue to dig your own graves. A punishment will teach all humans a lesson in humility.¡± A pause came while screams and cries of terror slowly overwhelm the silence. Despite all the commotion going on, Tai was still found it rather surreal. ¡°Despite what I have said, I am willing to give the human species a chance to fight for their future. A game it shall be, since you humans like games so much. Survive and prove me wrong.¡± With that Tai felt a strong force pulling him away from where he was as he slowly fell unconscious. A pleasant smelling fragrance pierce through his nose, something unfamiliar to him. He had never felt the air so smooth, so enjoyable before, it was like a pure clean untainted version of air. Struggling to wake up, he slowly stretched open his eyes, unsure of what was awaiting him. Looking around, everything seems like a dream. He was near an open field, lush grass spread for arcs and a huge forest lies behind him. To Tai who was unfortunately born in that era, he had never seen a forest or a field and picture books taught him what he only hoped to experience. A sudden pop out appears in front of him:
EVENT: This is an alternate world, virtually created by God. This would strongly resemble a As a chosen one: Settle your alliance with the Order of Holy Light From there, explore and survive this world - You may choose to live a life in this world - You can choose to clear the game by defeating the Cult of Darkness - A beginner book has been given Rewards: Earth will revert to its prime form with all its previous residence.
Tai was shocked, he didn¡¯t expect that he would have such an interesting turn of life. All he expected was death since the Earth condition wasn¡¯t improving and now such a wondrous chance has been given. A slight breeze broke him from his daze and he became curious what happen to everyone he cared. He wandered around the entrance to the forest while gazing across the field, hoping to spot someone or anyone that could help him. Minutes passed and soon an hour flew. No one, not a single soul was spotted near him. He calmed himself and try to sort out the information he gained from the sudden pop out. Thankful, he was still a teenager and spent majority of his time play VRMMORPG and thus was quite knowledgeable. ¡°Well, it¡¯s worth a sort to try it like how we did in a normal game¡±, he thought to himself. ¡°Inventory¡±. And instantly, before his eyes, a row of boxes appear mid-air in front of him. It was the most common inventory that every game character has. A 6x11 slot inventory, a total of 66 slots and within the 1st slot, a book was lying inside. He took the book out and started reading up to gain some basic knowledge of this world.

The guide book gave a decent chunk of information that explain the things he had to do to either survive or complete the game. Letting out a loud sigh, Tai knew the he was no longer in the world he once know. Everything has just changed so abruptly. Tai still had no idea what was the major difference between the class advancement and decided to make his decision once he hit level 10. Still he had to see what equipment and stats he had. Finally, the long hours of gaming at home has finally proved useful for Tai. ¡°Stats¡±, ¡°Equipment¡± Tai spoke in his mind. He realised that as long as he think about the item he wants, he can access the slot immediately.

He wasn¡¯t expecting much from his character. At least this game that God has thought up of was quite normal with nothing out of the norm. ¡°Guess it¡¯s time to look for a town nearby, maybe there will be some Non-Player Character (NPC) who can give me more information. I could grind some levels too while on the journey to the closest town.¡± As he look towards the horizon, across the fields, he couldn¡¯t see any town in the distance and thus decided to cut through the forest behind him. The forest seems to have a path leading somewhere. Not really sure where it leads, Tai decided to follow his guts and to proceed on it. Within a few minutes of walking, he noticed a signboard, "Green Peak Town Ahead".
Chapter 2: Green Peak Town KuroAegis here, The first three chapters will be upload within this week. Subsequent chapters will be released on a weekly basis. I''m currently attending university and will try to manage my timetable well. Please do support and give some advice on how to improve the story. Expect each chapter to come out roughly around GMT+8, 2100 hours, Sunday. Thank you. *P.S*, still looking for someone to do a cover page for me. Thanks :)
Chapter 2: Green Peak Town. After a few hours of walking, he finally reached Green Peak Town. It was a small village, with wooden buildings in neat rows. There was barely any shops around, a small merchant, an armoury and a bar, the rest were houses. Seeking information, he headed into the merchant shop, hoping the shopkeeper could fill him in. The shop was small and dusty, there was barely anything inside worth looking around. A bulky man working near the counter with his back facing the door, the loud thumping echoed in the shop. ¡°Welcome, we have everything you¡¯ll need to stock up on your journey¡±, the bulky man bellowed. Stopping his work while slowly turning around, the bulky man look quite old. His face covered by a 5 o¡¯clock shadow and an eyepatch across his left eye. Surprised to see a young man, he bulky man laughed and apologised. ¡°The name¡¯s Burg, what can I do for such a young traveller?¡± ¡°I need information, information about the Order of Holy Light and Cult of Darkness¡±, explained Tai. Burg looked bewildered, unable to comprehend why would there be a request for such information. He couldn¡¯t understand why anyone wouldn¡¯t know about the war between the Light and Dark Forces. ¡°Yea, been living under a rock son? Everyone knows about the war between the Order of Holy Light and Cult of Darkness. There was a time where peace filled this world, from nowhere a Dark Force brewed and suddenly invaded us. The Dark Forces plagued the lands, destroy villagers and ravaging whatever they could find. We humans couldn¡¯t stand up against foes we have never experienced, much less seen. About half a year of darkness fall upon us, a guild of Holy knights stood up against them and managed to repel the Dark Forces from our lands. The guild of Holy Knights called themselves the Order of Holy Light and named the Dark Forces the Cult of Darkness. They called upon us to join and fight against this evil and recruited every willing man/woman. This constant war still rages on the lands for more than 10years, both side hoping for a victory.¡± Looking at the curious face of Tai, Burg asked if he was going to join the Order of Holy Light and fight against the Cult of Darkness. Slowly explaining to Tai that he should not take war lightly as he was once a member of the Order of Holy Light too. He had once been a rash man and joined the war but was severely injured, even losing his left eye too. Retiring from the Order of Holy Light and coming back to his village to be a shopkeeper, it was one of Burg¡¯s most regrettable decision. Tai listened attentively, unsure how he should explain his situation to Burg, he was in a dilemma.
QUEST: Truth or Lies Unsure if the shopkeeper can be trusted, explain your situation or lied about it. Rewards: Tell the Truth Tell a Lie
A quest pop-up appears as Tai was thinking. With the small town population, Tai felt that the truth would not spread out much and decided to go for the truth. Slowly revealing the circumstances that lead him on his journey, he explained to Burg his story. Moments later, a simply opened minded Burg seems to believe every word Tai said instead of showing doubts. Instead of mocking him, he even gave him information on how to get to High Hills Valley. Burg was impress that a young man as such had shown such resolution to fix the world, he was awed. ¡°Look kid, the journey is not going to be easy. I am impress by your courage and resolution and I wished you the best. Before going to High Hills Valley, you¡¯ll pass by the Grand Peak Forest, I¡¯ll suggest you do some training on the goblins that lived there. They give plenty of experiences for someone who is of a lower level. But beware, Dark Forces was spotted in the forest too. I strongly believe you can achieve great heights if you follow your brave heart. For telling me the truth and to support you, here is my old equipment, it is not much but it¡¯ll help you in the journey.
QUEST: Truth of Lies Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. By telling the truth, you gained the trust of the shopkeeper, Burg. Rewards: +150 Exp +10 Trust + 1 Rusty Steel Shield + 10 Health Potion + 10 Mana Potion
Looking at the items he gain, it was nothing much, but the experience he gained just from finding out information had helped him reach level 3. Feel thankful for the items and information, he thank Burg before proceeding out of the shop. Before he left the shop, he notice a mirror, curious to see how he looked, he proceeded to the mirror. He look almost the same, the charming young look with a slightly rosy cheek. His hair was neatly shaven at the sides and back, with the top brushed up and some light stubble on his face.

¡°Hey Tai, the sky is setting. Why don¡¯t you stay in my house for the night?¡± Burg was concerned about the youth who seemed like he didn¡¯t have much. He didn¡¯t want to let Tai leave his merchant and to stay in the dark forest. Feeling thankful for the generosity, Tai humbly accepted Burg¡¯s request and they left for his house. Having a simple meal which filled his hunger, since he didn¡¯t eat the whole day. As he rested on the bed, though it was not the soft mattress he expected, he was already used to sleeping at the training hall¡¯s hard floor. He was impressed by God¡¯s program, though Burg might be an NPC, he sure felt real. He had experience a kind of warmth he hardly felt back on Earth. Slowly, he dozed off, feeling secured in Burg¡¯s hospitality. Before dawn breaks, Tai was already up. He was accustomed to waking up early to do his Kendo training. Going for a jog and his usual training regime, he was done just as sunlight hits the sky. He freshened up and had breakfast with Burg, who had to leave early to open his shop. Dropping by the merchant, he thanked Burg for his hospitality while they bid each other goodbye. As he equipped the steel shield before heading towards Grand Peak Forest. He turned back and looked at the town. A quiet and rundown village, but he had enjoyed his short stay there.
Chapter 3: 1st Class Advancement Hi, KuroAegis Here. Thanks for the comments and feedbacks, but when I was writing chapter 3, i realised that I had not plan the storyline properly. With that there were many problems in my subsequent chapters. After thinking for a long time, I have decided to cut short my storyboard for My newest project will be released next week. With a proper story plot, please do look forward to it. I am sorry for those who had any expectation for this and i truly apologise. Thank you.
Brave Heart Chapter 3: 1st Class Advancement A huge giant brick wall lay across the land in the distance, a pure white castle sat at the top of the everything. High Hills Valley, the headquarters of the Order of Holy Light. It sat perch on top of the hill, surrounded by walls to fortify its defences. There was only one entrance, heavily guarded by Holy Knights, impenetrable for years. It had a large and wealth community, rows of shops lies neatly from the entrance. There was all kinds of shops and people were cheerful, the streets filled with busy bustling sounds of transection. Tai had finally reached High Hills Valley. He had spent two whole days navigating Grand Peak Forest, as well as getting to level 10. He had trained on the goblins Burg mentioned, finally hitting the requirement for his 1st Class Advancement. As he stepped through the town, he was relieved to see Chosen Players again. While grinding in Grand Peak Forest, he had meet with some helpful Chosen Players and managed to exchange some information. After their 1st Class Advancement they helped Tai to get to level 10, with that, they break off for their own journey. With his 1st Class Advancement in mind, Tai proceeded to the Order of Holy Light immediately after entering the town. He had some managed to gather some information about the Class Advancement from the Party that grinded together. Apparently, it was a simple test of strength and upon passing, they get to decide which Class Advancement they will join. Currently, there are 6 Class Advancement, all warrior classes. The only difference is the weapon choice, method of attacking and unique skills. Heading into the castle gates, he was stopped by Holy Knights. The whole town was well guarded, from the town¡¯s entrance to the Order¡¯s entrance was all fortified with Holy Knights. The town even had Holy Knights patrolling. ¡°State your purpose of visiting¡±, demanded one of the Holy Knights. ¡°I¡¯m here for my 1st Class Advancement¡±, replied Tai. Looking at him, the Holy Knights gave him a salute and instructions on where to join the Order. Anyone this young looking deserved a salute for his courage to join in the war. Heading to the administrative department, Tai couldn¡¯t help but be awed. The inner walls of the castle was even more magnificent than the outer walls of the castle. It was filled with pure white walls, angels and holy decorations filled the walls. Elegance and truly majestic. Reaching the administrative department, he was greeted by a young lady. The young lady introduced herself as Jane before showing him the Advancement test site. In the room, many Chosen Players had gathered and are waiting for the test. The test leader was undoubted a high ranking Holy Knight, with a fierce look on him. He introduced himself as Mattson, a level 87 Holy Knight and explained the test. The test was simple, in the middle of the room was a tablet, placing one¡¯s hand would show what level he was and how much potential he has. The potential one has will speed up one¡¯s training level and improve the damages the skill can deal out. The potential lies in 5 tiers, ¡®Normal, High, Advance, Unique, and Legendary¡¯. The main difference was if skill was used by a character with normal tier potential, it would deal a specific damage. But if a character with legendary tier potential, uses the same skills, he will be able to deal more damage output. Their growth was also affected, the higher the potential tier, the faster one¡¯s character will be able to grow. Slowly, waiting for his turn, he could hear Mattson mention most Chosen Players range from Normal and High. Mattson didn¡¯t seem pleased. But occasionally, an Advance tier character will appear and only then would he look slightly happy. ¡°Tai, please step forward¡±, the announcement finally came. Slowly approaching the tablet, he was nervous. He kneeled down in front of the tablet and place his hand on it. ¡°Level 10, pass. Now for the potential tier¡±, bellowed Mattson. The number appeared on the tablet, slowly increasing. ¡°3¡ 9¡ 18¡ 29¡ 40¡ 47¡ 55¡ 62¡ 69¡¡± goodness, the number didn¡¯t seem to be stopping. The look on Mattson looked serious. The tier was graded in a numerical system as listed: Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
Normal Tier1 - 29
High Tier30 - 49
Advance Tier50 - 69
Unique Tier70 - 89
Legendary Tier90 - 100
In the past few days, there was only a handful of people capable to break through the Advance tier and reach the Unique tier. To the Holy Knights, as more characters with higher potential tier appear, they could tide over the Dark Forces. To Mattson, this kid in front of him, barely looking over 21, yet held so much potential was a good news. He could hardly take his eyes off the tablet, refusing to blink. ¡°73¡ 77¡ 81¡ 85¡ 89¡¡± it was only a number to break into Legendary Tier. The number seemed to halt at 89 for a long while and Mattson could only sigh. Finally breathing in, he blinked and looked at Tai. ¡°Potential level 89, Unique Tier¡±, Mattson was disappointed. He had so much expectations and to have it broken was devastating. Currently, there was only 6 Holy Knight who could reach Legendary tier, and they are all monster in their jobs. Distracted from the tablet, both Mattson and Tai looked at each other. Mattson was immersed in giving the kid some advice. First, he congratulated Tai for having such a high Potential level and reminded him not to slack off. Having high Potential level without training hard will be equivalent to squandering his gift. With that, both Mattson and Tai missed the fact that the number actually rose to 93 instead of 89. Heading back towards the administrative department, he went and look for Jane. Jane congratulated him and began explaining the Class Advancement. ¡°Currently, there are 6 weapon classes. Each of them wields a unique weapon to their job and learn vastly different skills. The 6 weapon classes are:
Holy DefenderSword and Shield
Holy BerserkerGreatswords
Holy SwordsmanLongswords
Holy Blade DancerDual Blades
Holy GuardianWar Hammers
Holy BarbarianBattle Axes
Tai looking at the list didn¡¯t hesitate with his decision. He knew he was going to follow the path of a Holy Swordsman. Long Swords were essentially linked to his kendo skills and without a doubt the easiest for him to master. Moreover, he was confident in his ability to wield the Long Sword better than any other weapon. With that, Jane led Tai to the Swordsman Institution, located at the 3rd chamber within the inner sanctuary. Entering the chamber, there were a few Chosen Players that were gathered there as well, all of them had made the decision to wield Long Swords as well. Jane began by informing him that all Order quest can be registered through her and explain how the system works. ¡°All order quest can be found on the notice board in front of the administrative office. You must reach the criteria listed on the quest before approval will be given. Upon completion of quest, you will be rewarded the quest rewards as well as Order Points (OP). OP can be spent in our Order, to purchase better equipment or potion for your future journey ahead.¡± After finish explaining, Jane bid Tai farewell and smooth sailing in his journey and left the chamber. With that Tai and the fellow new recruits waited aimlessly for the Class Advancement. They waited for close to an hour waiting for new recruits to join in. As Tai slowly grew restless, he heard a loud laughter echoing from the entrance. ¡°Wahahaha, looks like today, we have a handful of newcomers. Excellent, get ready the ritual¡±, cried a charming Holy Knight. The Holy Knight was very charming, suited in a full golden armour, with a longsword on his back. The way he walked, the way he presented himself, was almost like nobility. Unlike the poorly dressed new recruits, the air around the Holy Knight was intensive, giving off a god-like aura. ¡°Welcome new recruits to the humble family of Holy Swordsman. We are a group of Holy Knights that will never succumb to evil. We do not have a shield for extra protection, nor have the best damage. Neither the best speed nor the knockback ability. We have the most average aspect of all Classes, but that is what make us unique. We can survive on our own, without any protection nor help. We who wield the Longsword, have the best distance control among all Holy Knights and it is our greatest weapon against the Dark Forces. Do not falter man, for we can win this war. Today we unite here as brothers in arms, for tomorrow we fight. Let¡¯s proceed with the Holy Ritual.¡± An intense rally was given, pumping the spirit of the new recruits, even Tai was in awed by the speech given. He was truly impressed.
