《Devoid of Luck》 Devoid of Luck - Prologue Chapters will be 800~900 words long and will be released once every 3 days unless I feel like releasing it earlier. Any type of comments would be appreciated. No, there won''t be a harem, no he won''t rape or sexually harass anything or anyone, and no there will be almost no sexual content. ----- Certain people believe there is a concept of Karma. Every action has a moral weight, and it will be equally returned to you. It is either good or evil, heavy or light. Do a good deed and something good will happen to you. Do a bad deed and something bad will happen to you. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. However, if it this concept does exist, it doesn¡¯t apply to me. Why, you ask? Well, I started to doubt everything after the first few years of my life. It felt as if someone is pulling a mean prank on me, constantly, every day. I have finally understood it the first time I died. The fact is simple, I¡¯m just not a normal human. My name is irrelevant. Over the years, I have had so many of them that I forgot the original one. My age? it doesn¡¯t matter either, I have lived and died many times. What am I you wonder? Not even the gods know, trust me... I asked... and not just one of them. My story begins in the universe you are currently living in. A century or two before you were born. At first my life was relatively normal, only small misfortunes happened¡ A cut here, a broken bone there, a burn from boiling water here... then it started worsening. From small incidents around me... To bigger accidents involving people near me... And finally... indirectly causing death... ¡°Luckily¡± for me, the nasty stuff is limited to once a day and sometimes doesn¡¯t happen. Once in awhile something good might happen too. I decided to seclude myself, to not get close to anything. Avoid all and any life. Or at least try to do so... I have found an empty area on a cliff above the sea. It wasn¡¯t too small. Big enough for a wooden hut and a garden to grow my food in. I took my tools, found some wooden planks and started building the hut. I was only 15 at the time, so I wasn¡¯t very knowledgeable in the subject. It took me longer than expected, with rotten wood here and there, the hammer breaking a few times, and nails rusting when I turn my head away¡ In order to avoid people, I started growing my own food in a garden near the hut, sometimes going down the cliff to fish in the sea, it takes 10 times the effort for a being like me, but it is much better than having to shop for ingredients every time I want to eat. Safety first... This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. A year later I have found out that some rich douche has started building a beach resort, that connects to a hot springs spa, on the hill a short distance away from my hut. Apparently it wasn¡¯t enough for him, so he created a golf course that stretched as far as the horizon goes. One time a construction worker got close to my hut and three seagulls relieved their stress right on his head. Another time a poor guy stepped into a hole created by a mole only to find his face falling right into a pile of dog crap. It was fun watching from afar and then disappearing inside before anyone notices me. People in the resort started asking questions about my hut, and very soon after that, people started getting closer and closer to see who lives in it. There was even a story about it being haunted because bad things happened to people who got close to it. Because of the daily incidents, the rumors started spreading even faster, and thanks to that, people started avoiding getting too close to my once again personal area. I could finally return back to my peaceful life. Every day I checked on my crops behind the hut, I had to make sure they would last me as long as possible so I wouldn¡¯t have to acquire supplies from anywhere else, cleaned the hut, made sure there are no things missing and took the trash out to the trash collecting area which is the only convenient thing that came with the resort nearby. One day I¡¯ve decided to build an extension to the house. I wanted a porch where I could sit and look at the sea without having to step out of my safe-zone. I took some leftover wood I saved from the construction of the hut and started preparing the tools. While taking the measurements near the edge of the cliff, it hit me, literally. A damn golf ball, hit me right on the head. When I came back to my senses I was falling. Falling from the cliff. Damn golf course, I should''ve done something to prevent this idiot from building it. Oh well... I knew this day would come. Finally my bad luck will go away with me dying. Being impaled by the sharp stones under the cliff is not that bad, a quick death. The anticipation I have had my whole life, peace, will finally be fulfilled. No! My hopes were completely crushed, utterly smashed to pieces (unlike me)! My painful and miserable life did not end - it was only put on hold. Chapter 01 - White Space Don''t worry, he doesn''t get OP (for now :P) ------------- ¡°Finally, it is over.¡± ¡°But how come I still have thoughts? Didn¡¯t I just die?¡± Thinking about it, time have passed, maybe minutes, maybe hours, or maybe even days. ¡°Ouch!!¡± I suddenly felt a strong pinch in my head, or whatever it was where my consciousness resides. ¡°How come I can feel pain?! I¡¯m supposed to be on my way to the afterlife or something!¡± ¡°It was supposed to end! The living hell was supposed to end!¡± As if waking up from a horrible nightmare, I sat up and opened my eyes. I looked around but there was nothing except for my own naked body. I could feel myself, but it felt as if everything here is just an illusion and nothing was real. There was endless white space around me, which extended as far as the horizon went. I didn¡¯t have a shadow, and there was nothing below me except for the white space which seemed far away, yet close, as if I was floating, yet standing. It was neither hot nor cold, neither dark nor bright. I was neither heavy nor light. This just increased the feeling of this being an illusion, like everything here is artificial. Deciding to try and explore this space, I started walking forward in a straight line, at least that what I tried to do, since there was no way to orient myself in this place. As soon as I took my third step an uncomfortable feeling of shyness overflowed me when I remembered I was naked. Walking around naked is not as comfortable as it sounds if you¡¯re not used to it. ¡°There is no one here, but I still wish I at least had some clothes to cover myself up¡¡± Out of nowhere, I felt some weight descend on my body. I looked down towards myself, dazzled, I realized I am now wearing a shirt and pants. And yes, under the pants there was this tight sensation of underwear. This was my most favorite set of casual clothes, a light black long sleeve shirt and black cargo pants, held by a black leather belt. However, I still didn¡¯t have anything on my feet, which was fine since there is nothing here that could possibly hurt my feet, I think. ¡°This is amazing, it just materialized out of nowhere¡¡± ¡°I wish I could eat a perfect layered cake.¡± The cake appeared out of nowhere, it floated a short distance from my eyes. ¡°If my conclusion is correct¡¡± ¡°I need a spoon to eat the cake, and something to place it on, don¡¯t I?¡± A table, a chair, a plate with the cake on it, and a spoon. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. They all appeared the same instant I finished my sentence. Seems like this place is driven by my expressed desires. It doesn¡¯t appear when I just think about it, I have to state it in my thoughts. *Hhhmh* I cleared my throat getting ready for my next experiment. Thinking about a warm tea inside a cup with a cup holder ¡°I want something nice to drink with the cake.¡±, I said loudly. On the table, everything I have thought of, have materialized. Seems like speech works as well¡ I sat on the chair and started eating, it tasted perfect. While eating and drinking an endless supply of different types of perfect cakes, and drinking many different drinks I have tried in my previous life, I started experimenting with what more I could ask for to be materialized. After the time it takes to eat 10 small cakes, I have exhausted any possible idea that came to my mind about stuff to materialize. There was now a white tiled floor underneath the area I placed the table on, a tiny little orb the diameter of less than 1 centimeter which was like a tiny sun which produced some light that caused shadows and some sort of comfortable warmth, and on my feet there is now a pair of boots, with sock underneath obviously. There was nothing more around since before I tried summoning anything too big, I first tried to dematerialize something small to be sure it is safe to try and materialize something that might affect me. ¡°I could eat more cakes, since I can just dematerialize what I just ate from my stomach and then eat another one over and over again¡ This place is perfect!¡± The limitations were simple. Living things, like growing plants or live animals, couldn¡¯t be materialized. Anything I can¡¯t think about, couldn¡¯t be materialized. Too bad I have shit creativity. Only things I have encountered in my life could be materialized without thinking about the components. If I wanted to materialize something I have invented in my mind, it had to be made out of components I have encountered in my life and then I could think about it as a whole the next time I need it instead of having the hassle of thinking about the components again. Suddenly I felt a pinch in my consciousness, like I have felt the first time I woke here, and I blacked out. Slowly I felt my consciousness come back, and I was filled with instant regret. Everything around me was warm and slimy, I was reluctant to open my eyes. ¡°Damn, It smells like shit!¡± Chapter 02 - Shit, Where am I? I still have a slight conflict in how should I handle the traveling part of the story... I''m releasing this chapter quite early because I don''t want any misunderstanding about the MC after the white-space chapter. He will suffer. --- The stench was so terrible that I wanted to just cut my nose off without thinking about any of the consequences and all to simply stop myself from smelling this horrible stench. I quickly stood up and then opened my eyes to see what was causing it. ¡°Holy mountains of shit.¡± No better words could describe what was around me. There were animal feces everywhere! Well at least that''s what I think it is¡ It stretched around 100 meters into every direction. I was right in the middle of this shit-hole, literally. Thankfully, after the ¡°muddy¡± area there was something that seemed like a huge grassland that went as far as my eyes could see. Circling this shit-hole, there was a simple red fence with a single gate which looked like the only exit from this place. Looking at my shit covered self, I could see I¡¯m still wearing the same clothes that I had on me before I blacked out. At least the stench won¡¯t stick to my skin... I walked towards the gate, hoping that there won¡¯t be any surprises in the ¡°mud¡±, almost slipping quite a few times, but thanks to the grip of the boots it seems I won¡¯t suffer this fate any time soon. The boots were really helpful, people should really appreciate the invention of boots. After a minute of careful walking I have finally reached the gate. ¡°Just one more step and I¡¯m safe.¡± Stretching my hand towards the gate¡¯s handle I lose my balance, I immediately try to regain it but without any avail. My face plunges into what I desperately want to be simple mud, but I know it isn¡¯t. *Splash* Now I¡¯m covered in shit both from behind and in the front. I really hope something kills me right now. Standing up with the help of the fence, I reach towards the gate¡¯s handle again, this time holding myself with my other hand. Thankfully, the gate is not locked and it opens easily. Taking my final step I¡¯m finally out! ¡°Finally, I¡¯m out! Who the hell placed this huge shit-hole in the middle of nowhere!?¡± The smell was killing me, I should find some water and clean myself as soon as possible. If there is no water around, I might as well just actually do what I wanted to do about my nose. ¡°I wonder if the power from the white-space still works around here¡¡± ¡°I wish I¡¯d have a few bathtubs full of warm rose scented water¡± In front of my eyes a piece of paper appeared! But didn¡¯t I ask for bathtubs? The language seemed familiar, so I started reading it. Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Hello Traveler! I don¡¯t know how you got here, but you¡¯re welcome to stay. You smell like shit though, so please clean yourself if you do. Oh, and please make sure you don¡¯t light a fire around this area. We don¡¯t want everything to go *bang*, do we? Have fun and enjoy my humble gift! From God.
With a pale face I kept reading the note over and over again. ¡°Where the hell am I?!¡± In front of me appeared a weird wooden container, it was around 3 meters tall and 4 meters wide, it had four windows, one on each side, and a small door which means I could probably enter it. Stepping inside I saw a large wooden bathtub, overflowing with water that disappeared as soon as it hit the floor, probably some sort of a self cleaning mechanism. It seemed as if the water supply was endless. The water smelled really good and so without any consideration and further exploration, I took of everything I had on me off and jumped inside. ¡°Perfect! Warm clean water that smells good was just what I needed!¡± Sitting in the tub, looking around I see a small wooden chair underneath one of the windows, on it were exactly the same boots as mine, underneath the boots there was something that looked like folded clothes which were probably too exactly the same as mine. Near the boots there was a small leather pouch around 10cm in height, it looked full and behind it was a metal canteen. ¡°Probably coins and water¡¡± I was in the tub for around an hour by now. I should be getting out soon. I splashed my face with water for the last time and stood up. Suddenly I felt something disappearing. Again, I was naked in the open world. The wooden box just vaporized with my old stuff, leaving only the wooden chair with a replica of my stuff, the pouch and the canteen on it. ¡°Oh well. At least I now I¡¯m clean and smell good¡¡± I immediately step towards the chair and bent over in order to pick up the clothes from it. ¡°Dude! What the hell?! Cover yourself up!¡±, Hearing someone shout, I immediately turned around only to find a huge bulky man standing on a nearby hill. ¡°Oh shit.¡± Embarrassed and blushing I hurry up and dress myself, then the man starts walking towards me. Not knowing how to react, I quickly hooked the pouch and canteen to my belt and started walking in his direction too. ¡°Don¡¯t worry man, I won¡¯t tell anyone you did what you did here so hurry up and leave, you¡¯re trespassing in my farm¡¡± I think there is a slight misunderstanding between the two of us¡ Chapter 03 - Monotone, Are they clones or something? (Part 1) Someone said I''m not expressing feelings enough (or at all), I''ll try my best to change it. --- The huge bulky man stood right in front of me, he looked much taller and bigger up close. I myself was quite tall at 1.90m, but he was at least 2 heads taller than me! ¡°Haven¡¯t you heard me? Leave!¡± Thinking about it, he has a weird accent, but I can understand him clearly. Seems like this place might be not that far from where I have lived before¡ But that shouldn¡¯t be right¡ Didn¡¯t I receive this weird note that said I¡¯m a traveler to this world? It said it was from the god of this place, and judging by the gifts I have received and the manner I got them in, it might be true. (Author note: Everything that the wooden cabin contained) ¡°S...sir, I apologize for trespassing, I did not know this place was private property¡ ¡° My voice was a little stiff from the embarrassment caused by the misunderstanding. ¡°I already said it is fine, just leave already! I already have enough balls to think about even without yours...¡± I stare at the bulky man, trying not to laugh, pretending that I didn¡¯t hear the words he just said after he told me to leave. ¡°I apologize again, but do you mind pointing me towards the nearest city?¡± The man points towards the hill to his left. ¡°There¡±. He mumbled something that sounded like ¡°Now he thinks I¡¯m gay¡¡± and then proceeded walking towards the location of the ¡°muddy¡± area, seems like from the beginning I wasn¡¯t what he was walking towards. ¡°Thank you very much!¡± Too embarrassed to feel any other emotion towards the guy, I thanked him and ran towards the hill, hoping to never encounter this man ever again. Reaching the top of the hill I spotted a simple gray stone trail and started following it. Having nothing to do other than endlessly walk, I decided to check what was in the pouch. I untied it from my belt and opened it. ¡°Cookies!!¡± Grabbing a cookie and popping it into my mouth, I¡¯m filled with joy, there are no words to explain their taste! Those cookies are the best cookies I have ever had in my life! I¡¯ll name them ¡°Heavenly Cookies¡± because I don¡¯t think there is anything that could ever compare to them! Eating cookie after cookie, I noticed something weird, the weight of the pouch doesn¡¯t change. I take out all of the cookies at the same time and in an instant the pouch is full of cookies again! ¡°The pouch always stays full, what a convenient pouch!¡± I open up the metal canteen and take a sip, the liquid inside tastes like slightly sweetened water. ¡°Maybe the canteen is the same as the pouch?¡± I turned the canteen upside down, letting the water spill to the ground, minutes passed and the water didn¡¯t stop flowing out even for a single moment. Seems like the canteen is indeed just like the pouch. I wonder who was the genius who invented this mechanism. Isn¡¯t this what they could call witchcraft? ¡°Heavenly Pouch of Endless Cookies¡± and ¡°Heavenly Canteen of Endless Nectar¡± is what I decided to name those convenient objects since the one claiming to be God sent them to me. At the very least I didn¡¯t have to worry about dying from hunger before I reach the town. I walked for 3 days straight, only stopping to eat and drink every time I got hungry¡ No matter how long I walked, all I could see around was short green grass, covering many hills. There were no animals, no people, no trees, nothing, except for hills covered with green grass. It felt as if someone took a small area and endlessly cloned it to create a large land. The only thing that held me from going crazy was the blue sky, filled with differently shaped clouds while the sunlight was out, and the shining stars when night came. However, there was no moon and all of the stars seemed as if they all were the same size which seemed a little weird¡ Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Being tired from all the sleepless nights I decided to take a nap on the hill since it seems there is nothing that could harm me around here, or more correctly, there was nothing living around here at all. I couldn¡¯t relax too much because of the unnerving feeling this place gave me, but at the very least I know I will be safe from predators. Laying down on the green grass, I closed my eyes and began sleeping. I don¡¯t know how long I slept for, but when I woke up I was fully rested, even though my body felt a little stiff¡ I slowly opened my eyes and looked towards the sky, for a moment the sky looked purely white, and the next moment it became cloudy but blue. ¡°Maybe it was just my imagination¡± The more I thought about it, the more it disturbed me, not able to hold my fears inside anymore, I started running as fast as I could and suddenly a strong wind blew against my eyes, I couldn¡¯t resist but to close them for a moment. When I opened my eyes I could see a tall stone wall with a wooden gate in the horizon, probably I finally reached the city the farm owner pointed me towards. I couldn¡¯t see where the walls ended, probably really far away. Arriving to my destination I could see that guarding the gate were 4 masked men, I couldn¡¯t see any weapons. Those guards were at least as tall as the farm owner. Their masks looked like simple bronze smiling face masks, hiding their faces and only letting their eyes see through. I didn¡¯t mind it at all, because I finally found some living souls in this endlessly empty world! The fright I got from not seeing anything other than the repetitive world outside and the fluctuating sky slowly faded away and I slowly was more and more relaxed. As soon as I took a step forward, towards the gate, the guards didn¡¯t stop me but instead immediately opened it, not stopping me and not asking me any questions. I probably don¡¯t look like I could pose a threat to them as I don¡¯t have any weapons on me¡ And let''s face it¡ Comparing to their body build, I was like a feather facing a rock. Instead of them I wouldn¡¯t be wary of me either¡ In front of me, inside the walls, beyond the gate, there scenery finally looked different. Gravel trails stretching in every direction, windmills, huts, stone houses and small gardens filled the land. I stepped inside. In front of my eyes there was a signpost. It looked very organized, neat and boring, and there were no extra explanations on it, it simply stated which route leads to which location.

I started to ponder¡ ¡°Where should I go first?¡± --- Please don''t read this if you don''t want any help in understanding the meaning of the signpost: Spoiler: Author Note The sign symbolizes the routes and choices every person has to make in life: Politics, Studies, Money, Health, and Family. Or it can symbolize the safe routes one can decide to live on. Getting a degree from the university, Participating in politics, Becoming a businessman, Becoming a doctor, or finding a mate that could provide for both sides. Obviously this is not the only thing that can be interpreted in this chapter, but this is one of the major ones. Chapter 04 - Monotone, So not clones...? (Part 2) Before this certain someone told me my story was way too summary like, the "Monotone" chapters were supposed to span over 2 chapters, but now that I try to be much more expressive about everything around, it almost triples everything in size, I have ''Monotone'' finished but it is way too summary-like, every time my rewriting reaches 900~ words, I''m posting a part, trying to master the art of cliffhanging xD I''ll try to finish ''Monotone'' in 2 more parts or even less... If you have any comments about things I should improve in my writing please do tell. --- ¡°I have many question regarding this place, and so far, not a single answer.¡± Behind the neatly placed signpost there were 5 stones with numbers on them, each marking a different route. Considering what I need right now is to know what my location is and what the hell is wrong with this world, I should either find someone to ask questions or head to the library. ¡°The most important thing is to find a map that shows where I am now.¡± I decided I should head towards the library, maybe there will be some clues about this place. Asking random people will probably raise suspicions about me since most of the things I want to know, should be common knowledge for any person in this world. Things I would have known have had I was simply born into this world, or whatever it may be. Going towards the rock that marks route three, I double check that this is the proper route to make sure I won¡¯t make any stupid mistakes like getting lost in this place. The last thing I want is to be lost in a place I don¡¯t know, and have no idea what lurks in it. Stepping on the trail, marked as route three, I start heading towards the library. On my way I look around in hopes of gathering some basic information about the lifestyle in this place. Many men are working the land, making sure their crops and plants are growing well. Other man are hauling products towards the market route or away from it, and some men are simply sitting on benches or chairs placed randomly in the nearby area, talking to each other and drinking to their fill. ¡°I wonder where did they get all those materials from¡¡± ¡°The land on the way to this town had no trees or stone quarries at all¡ Just grass¡¡± Every time I passed some people, they all stop doing whatever they were doing and stared at me as if I¡¯m some kind of an alien. Now that I think about it, they all look almost identical to each other other, only their faces are different, yet have a similar feeling to them¡ ¡°Maybe they are staring at me because I look so different from them...¡± I haven¡¯t seen my own face in a long time, but the features I¡¯m sure about are that I had short wavy black hair, green eyes and slightly pale pink skin, on the other hand the men on this land all were black haired, brown eyed and their skin was light brown, not to mention their height which towered two heads above me and their body build that made them look like brown bears. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. I passed many unique buildings on my way, but all of them had a Victorian architecture style with some unique elements like pillars and decorated by sculptures carved out of what seemed like simple stone. It was truly a nice sight to behold as I haven¡¯t seen much art in my life. Some of the sculptures were of a certain man posing in martial art stances, others like the same man fencing with a rapier, but most of the sculptures were of this certain man doing everyday things like farming, cleaning or cooking, they were all of the same man and were positioned everywhere around the town. ¡°So far I haven¡¯t seen a single female in this city, or outside of it¡¡° ¡°This place gives me an ever worse feeling than the endless grassland hills outside¡¡± ¡°I really hope the library is not too far away from where I am now.¡± Many thoughts overflowed my head. I tried not to think about it too much, and relax. Continuing down the marked route as fast as I could without standing out much more than I already do, I suddenly noticed a person who finally looked quite unique compared to the others, he was even shorter than me and had a childish face, but his body build wasn¡¯t that different from the others¡ ¡°He looks like a child of this place, maybe there are women after all¡¡± I come close to the child, in hopes he wouldn¡¯t be too wary of me , and ask him, ¡°Hello! mind telling me if this is the right way towards the library?¡±. The kid looks at me with a weird gaze, but then answers. ¡°Y¡ yes¡ continue down this route for around five minutes and you¡¯ll reach it¡¡° The kids voice trembled and had fear in it. ¡°Thank you very much!¡±, I answered and then hurried to continue walking. Hearing the kid behind me sigh in relief as soon as I start walking. ¡°I wonder why was he so tense while talking to me¡ Was he afraid of me?¡± Now thinking about it, even when I was trespassing in the "mud" farm, the farm owner didn¡¯t cause me any trouble, he simply asked me to leave, and his remarks seemed as if he was worried about the consequences of me being there, rather than me trespassing. ¡°I really hope they don¡¯t think I¡¯m some kind of a demon or something¡¡± --- Next chapter will be available today, and hopefully the last part will be out tomorrow since I won''t be home for a while... Chapter 05 - Monotone, Please make this nightmare end! (Part 3) 2nd Chapter for today, the last part of monotone will be released tomorrow (hopefully). Thanks for reading! --- I try to forget about my worries but the anxiousness eats me from inside. Hopefully I¡¯m just overthinking things. I keep walking for five minutes, making sure I stay on the route, and just like the boy said, after around five minutes, I finally reach a large round building with a sign on it that says ¡°Library¡±. I have finally arrived to my destination. Pushing the door aside and stepping inside, I finally let out a sigh. I look around me in disappointment, I don¡¯t know why, but I expected much more. There is only a single floor, but the ceiling is very tall, maybe six meters in height. In front of me there are ten sections of shelves, many of the shelves are empty, seems like books are not in high demand in this town¡ I hope I¡¯ll be able to find the important things I¡¯m looking for in this small selection of books. To my right I see a male librarian, obviously he looks like almost everyone in this damn town. Usually the librarian is a female¡ I hoped to find a behind the desk here, I haven¡¯t seen a single female since many days before I fell from the cliff¡ The librarian was seated behind a table large table with piles of books on it, he sorting and marking them. I slowly walked towards him and tried to make sure he notices me before I speak to him. ¡°Hello! Could you please point me towards the area with history and geography books?¡± The librarian looks at me with the look everyone outside looked at me with. He returned his gaze to the book, and then again looked at me, and put the book down. He hesitates a moment before answering but finally open his mouth. ¡°Yes, head to the 4th section on the right for history, it should be on the 3rd shelf.¡± ¡°And for the geography, we don¡¯t have any, we only have a single map which is now in use by someone who took it for a while.¡± ¡°Thank you! I¡¯ll come back when I¡¯m done reading.¡± I can¡¯t help but begin to wonder again why do they all look at me like that¡ Maybe they haven¡¯t ever seen someone so different from them? Heading to the 4th section and looking at the shelf, it surprises me how little the selection of useful books is, there is only a total of 20 books on the shelf and most of them are random topics like ¡°The Evolution of Gardening¡±, ¡°Achievements of Cooks¡±, ¡°Sculptures Throughout The Years¡± and ¡°Tales of Great Fencers¡±. I could count the amount of books I could actually find information in on one hand, they were, ¡°Settlements and Architecture¡±, ¡°The Ancient God¡± and ¡°Popular Myths and Stories¡±... Opening the first book, I start going through the pages, noting everything of importance to myself. There are only two important findings¡ The first is that this settlement is the first of its kind, this town is the only town there is in thousands of kilometers around this area. No one actually knows where the houses came from or who built them, it is mentioned in the book that every single building and sculpture in this town, one day simply appeared. The 2nd book talked about a being called ¡°Ancient God¡±, might be the one who summoned my nice bath and gave me the nice gifts. The book is very short and simply describes how magnificent and omnipotent this being is. The 3rd book has a lot of interesting information regarding my previous findings. It is said that this might be the only town on this planet! The materials and ware in the market appear once in a every certain amount of time in random locations around the city, there is no constant pattern and no one can prove it is true. It seems like many people believe the Ancient God is the one who causes this and he is also the one who made the houses and sculptures. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. ¡°So the man posing for the sculptures might be this ¡®Ancient God¡¯ himself.¡± The most interesting part is that it is rumored that the things usually appear near ¡°mud¡± farms. But, sadly, there were nothing in the books describing anything related to the people, only technological achievements were properly described. So many useless books. Seeing as the librarian doesn¡¯t mind me, I keep looking through the whole library in search for anything regarding the people or the location of this place, but nothing. Nothing! Nothing in the books explained why there were no animals around this city. Nothing explained why there were no trees, why there were so many people that looked as if they were cloned, or why there was a huge shit-hole in the middle of nowhere, unless the rumor about the things appearing near them is true. Making sure I returned every book I took out, back on the shelves I took them from, I then headed towards the librarian to bid him farewell and ask the most important question I have had this whole time, as soon as I approached him, he looked up and I started talking, ¡°Thanks, I found most of what I was looking for.¡± I lied. ¡°There was a single question that came to my mind and I couldn¡¯t find an answer for. Mind if I ask you? I really hope you could help.¡± ¡°Sure go ahead¡±. He looked surprised. ¡°Why are there no females?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t understand your question, I didn¡¯t catch the last word you said¡¡± Wondering what was wrong with my question, maybe the question sounded rude, maybe there is actually a different word for females in this place, or maybe he couldn¡¯t talk about it. I decided to repeat myself in a more polite manner. ¡°Sorry, I¡¯ll repeat myself, if it is possible, could you please tell me why are there no females in this city?¡± The librarian looked lost, not knowing what to say, certainly he doesn¡¯t understand what I mean by the word ¡®Females¡¯. He took out a dictionary, probably thinking it was some sort of a rarely used word he have never heard before, there are many words you may or may not know and will never be used in a conversation in your entire life¡ Flipping through the pages of the dictionary, he reached the section on which the words started with ¡®Fe¡¯, looking through it again and again, not finding anything. He handed me the dictionary. ¡°Maybe you confused a certain word, try skimming through the dictionary, maybe you¡¯ll find the correct word for what you¡¯re trying to ask about.¡± I took the dictionary and took a seat beside a large table. I opened the dictionary and went to the word index, reading each and every word looking for words I don¡¯t know, I may not seem like it, but I am quite well educated even though it was self education¡ (Word Index: The pages that list all the words and which page they are on, without the definition.) After reading through the index three times to make sure I haven¡¯t missed anything, I have come to a realization!! The words ¡°Gender¡±, ¡°Male¡± and ¡°Female¡±, are missing!! MISSING!! None of the words I didn¡¯t know were anything close to them!! As a healthy (I think) young man, It hit me like a hammer! ¡°Are there no females in this world?!¡± Chapter 06 - Monotone, I blew everything up. At a certain place in the town, stood a man looking down on a single dry strand of grass. ¡°This is the first time the grass isn¡¯t green in many years! It was always green! Why is it brown?!¡± The man was panicking, not knowing what to do! This is the first time in his life he had seen a dried up strand of grass! It was something that have never existed in his world before! A world filled with green grass, all year around! --- ¡°Did you find what you were looking for?¡±, Asked the librarian. ¡°Yeah, it is fine now, thanks for all the help¡¡±, I said with a depressed voice. I left the library with a depressed dark feeling. ¡°I¡¯ll head to an inn and drink myself to death, I don¡¯t want to live in a world filled with men that look all the same and no females¡¡± As soon as I stepped outside the library, I saw a huge commotion, many people were gathering in a single spot. ¡°IT IS BROWN!¡± ¡°THE END IN NEAR!¡± ¡°HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!¡± Screams were resounding through the mass of people which seemed to surround a single strand of brown dried grass. I decided to simply walk by, and head directly to an inn since I have nothing else to do. Taking a step forward, I felt something hit my leg, it was a dark stone that probably got freed from the trail stones, I look at the stone flying towards the mass of people. The stone didn¡¯t hit anyone, but as it neared the stand of brown grass it hit another dark rock. This collision created a spark. The spark directly hit the brown strand of grass. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. This all happened in a single moment, no one had an idea what a calamity it would bring. The brown strand of grass got ignited! There was a strong earthquake and then everything went dark. As soon as I opened my eyes I found myself in the familiar looking white space. In my hands there was a note:
Mister, I asked you very nicely at first not to ignite fire, you blew my damn planet up! Please never return! You aren¡¯t welcome here anymore! The Angry God From Before.
Seems like I just died... again? --- I decided to drop writing this because it looks like every chapter is doing worse than the last one, Seems like my story is not good enough to attract people, sorry for wasting time for people who actually read it... The concept was an unlucky MC that travels through white-spaces of many different people who declare themselves "Gods". While traveling through their white spaces he collects information and develops his own white space to be a better one. He is the only one who has the ability to travel through white spaces and the "White Space Gods" have no idea what he is because no one else can do what he can. But to return to his original white space, he has to die.
