《The World》 Chapter 1. AUTHOR''S NOTE: Hello! Welcome to my story! This is my first time writing fanfiction, and I''m proud of it so far, but feel free to tear out my ego, stomp on it, and laugh. Or just criticize constructively! To be clear, tables will be used later, and only Eric and Kyle are going with me, you''ll know what I mean when you get there. Also, yes Spencer is based on me and my friends are my real life friends. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spencer awoke. He had had the strangest dream. He was playing a video game, like any other game he would play it was a 2-D platformer, but the premise was he could control time. It was cool and all, but it had felt so... real. He could feel the lush grass underneath his feat as if he were standing in a meadow in his hometown of Pahrump, Nevada. Well, except for the fact that there were no meadows in Pahrump. He could feel the perfect temperature complemented by the cool breeze that showed up just as the sun would start to beat on his neck. He imagined he could''ve felt the spikes pierce his flesh if he ever messed up, which he never did. He was, as his friends called him, an expert. The point of this whole dream, he guessed was to get him used to the concept of his new... ability. He could control time! The universe was at his grasp! He could taste the smell of despair after he fought opponent after opponent, and all succumbed to his unstoppable power. There was one slight problem, though. He could stop time for one second. If he were a master at the art of combat, he probably could have defeated his foes with this simple advantage, however, he was a 15-year-old nerd from a small town in about the worst state of America. All these thoughts passed through his mind in the span of a minute, which was all it took to realize he better hurry up to get to school. As all teenagers were, he was quite lazy and woke up about as late as he could, which required him to rush through everything in order to give him ample bathroom time. That was the first thing he had to attend to every morning, after all. He may be lazy, but he had a schedule. He dashed into the bathroom he shared with his brother, secured the door with a click of the lock and went to work. After finishing his business, he went to the mirror to comb his hair, as it was really the only thing he liked about his appearance. He looked up at his reflection and saw what he always did, a mildly tall kid (for his age) who was a bit chubby, but, hey his mother still loved him, so he wasn''t that ugly, right? He combed his dirty blond hair and looked at his eyes. They seemed... yellow-er than normal? His usually gray eyes had a gold tint in the middle. He didn''t worry about this too much. He would have been faster at this whole process, but he had one-third more time at his disposal, because he would pause time every two seconds, for one second. It made sense to him. He finished in the bathroom and went back to his room. He glanced at his closet and took out a random shirt. It was gray with green stripes going horizontally across. He only got it because it was pretty soft. He put on a random pair of jeans, grabbed his lunch that always mysteriously appeared in the morning because of his mom''s NINJA SKILLS. Spencer yelled one last goodbye and went to the bus stop. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. He waited for a minute or two while the bus came. He looked around, and saw the same ho-hum scene that was always there, but now with 200% MORE BROKEN GLASS BOTTLES! He sighed and clambered on to the bus that had just arrived. He sat in a random seat and began to listen to music. He zoned out and put his head against the cool glass. Actually, it was pretty warm, but Spencer loved to pretend he was in a music video and he was listening to a pretty emo song, so it fit. He waited for a while, glaring at suitors that wanted to sit next to him. Finally, one of his friends stop came up, and his friend RJ showed up and sat in his seat wordlessly. It was commonly understood that talking was not to be done while headphones were in, and RJ started listening to his own music. Eventually, the school was brought into view and Spencer sluggishly made his way inside the all-encompassing door of the local neighborhood High School. Actually, the middle school was far closer to his house, but Spencer liked making monologue in his head, be it sarcastic or not. Spencer went to his locker and transferred books from one container to the other. He also put his lunch in there and slammed the locker shut. After dodgeing pleas desperately requesting food from his so-called ''friend'' Kenny, he walked to Spanish class and took a seat. He started reviewing some Spanish from his class book. That was when Spencer realized what kind of world he was now living in. It didn''t really hit him until now. He had the ability to control time! What if his friends also got abilities? Who else could have gotten them? Why did we get them? Spencer was so excited he could barely make it through the periods until lunch. He would confront his friends there. Time seemed to crawl along so slowly. He would make it his bitch one day, he thought with new resolve. Time seemed to move a pace more akin to an overweight marathon than a snail practicing it''s army-crawling skills. He sat through Geometry, his eyes glazing over as his teacher went on and on about bisectors or something. He would still pass the class with ease. The bell rang and once again, he went to the final period before lunch, English 9. He hated English. Both the class and the language, as both were convoluted and forced. It wasn''t that he was bad at it or anything, he just hated mandatory reading and essays. Time was back to the snail thing again. After an eternity of learning Greek roots he already knew, he could go to lunch. Both his best friend Kyle and his other friend Eric were standing next to each other awkwardly. For Eric this was usual, he was a pretty awkward kid, but Kyle was a cool guy, so this was pretty strange. "What"s up, Abroham Lincolns?" Spencer asked. He always greeted his friends with a variation of the word "bro". He wasn''t even the type of person to use "bro" seriously. That was exactly why he said it. It caught people off guard. "N-not much Brosideon," Kyle responded, sounding not all that in to it. Eric bursted out "DID YOU HAVE THE DREAM TOO?" Spencer looked up and noticed their eyes. Kyle''s were tinged blue, and Eric''s were red. Chapter 2. "Eric, you can''t just practically yell that out when we don''t even know if Spencer has powers!" Kyle hissed angrily. "Sorry," Eric mumbled. "Oh hohohohoho, my friends, but I do have powers!" Spencer responded excitedly. "Spill it!" Kyle and Eric whispered. "Temporal Control!" "What?" Spencer smiled at his friends like the way a mother would smile while explaining to a child how the cow goes ''moo''. "I can control time!" They all agreed that it was all pretty cool. As it turns out, they all had abilities that would help them in combat. Kyle could summon materials, and Eric could do mind control. Soon after introducing their powers to one another like PTA mothers a voice rang out clearly.
Greetings, Heroes. The three of you will become heroes of another realm different to your own. You all have destinies. Spencer, you are The Crafter, Kyle, you are The Rogue, and Eric, you are The Wizard. Go forth and help the people of the next realm. You have a week to prepare
Eric was the first to break the stunned silence. "I''m a what?" "Now is not the time for Harry Potter References, Eric," said Kyle. Spencer was busy thinking about his situation as The Crafter. Between them, there wasn''t really a warrior, and he certainly didn''t want to be a warrior. In a game, like The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, he became a master blacksmith, alchemist, and enchanter. He could make the best goddamn armor in the game, but he never did, because he never fought, and when he had to, he would just switch to godmode. On the other hand, if this was going to play like a game of Skyrim, he would love it, because he was quite proficient with a weapon in real life. Ranged weapons to be exact. He could shoot a gun or fire a bow pretty well. Spencer had made up his mind of his attack strategy, at least for now. "So," Spencer said, breaking the silence that was starting to form again, "I get to make stuff." "No duh" Kyle responded. "Well, what are we going to do to prepare for a week?" asked Eric. "I am stealing my parent''s credit card, going to Walmart, and buying supplies," Kyle said. "No wonder you''re a thief." Spencer joked, but Kyle did have a point. They might never see their families again, so they should kind of take advantage of this. Spencer wasn''t going to go back to this high school. He had to prepare. After two more class periods, Spencer could have gone on the bus, but he decided that Walmart was closer to the school than his house, so he called his mom and said he was going over to Kyle''s. Spencer was a good kid, so his mom allowed him to. After an hour of walking, he arrived at Walmart. Luckily, he had a credit card on him, because he was responsible enough to use it in an emergency that required cash. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Spencer went to the clothing section first. Unlike most characters he played as or read about, a ragged cloth would not be his starting equipment. He picked up lots of underwear and socks, he bought a lot of comfy shirts for varying temperatures, two hoodies, several pairs of carpenter and cargo pants, and most importantly, two kinds of shoes. He got great running shoes and some steel-toed boots. Great for when things step on you. He then went to the camping section. He picked up a great Zippo lighter, a knife, a tent, a bedroll, a lamp, many batteries, A mammoth jug for water, lots of rope, some purification tablets, and a whistle. Because it was right next to the camping section, he went into the sport section, where he picked up a helmet and a bat, and went to the luggage section where he got a large suitcase that could roll. Next, He went to the crafting section, where he got plenty of needles, thread, pencils, pads of paper, and other crafting-related items. He then grabbed a solar charger from the electronics, along with a megaphone. Lastly, he went to the food section. He bought even more water, and some food that wouldn''t perish like condensed milk, cereal, and jerky. His bill rang up to be almost $400 (¡ê263.54). He still had $600 (¡ê395.31) until he hit his limit. He strutted into the pawn shop next to the Walmart, barely controlling himself. Have that much money at the pawn shop was like being a millionaire, to him anyway. He looked around and saw what he came here for, a good laptop. That was why he had gotten the solar charger. He found a pretty good laptop for $400 and purchased it. He also got a new mobile phone and put his sim card into it. Spencer was extremely excited for this new world he was going to. He decided to use his last 6 days to train his skills. So, with the remaining time left in the day, Spencer went to the library. Spencer went to the for dummies section and picked up all sorts of gathering and processing skills, even ones on architecture and engineering, just in case. He also left his new laptop to download a bunch of stuff he would need. A few hours later, just as the library was closing, Spencer got really hyped for the new world. Spencer almost wanted to go there early. In fact, because he wanted to so bad, he tried to plea with the god/godess. Spencer got down on one knee and said "Hey, it''s uh, The Crafter here and I''m all ready to go, is there a chance I could go there now instead of later?" Surprisingly enough, the godess responded immediately.
For my favorite Hero, Thy wish is granted
Chapter 3. Spencer woke up in an rather comfy, soft bed with a little girl looking over him. She couldn''t have been more than 6 years old, but she was studying him intently. She looked human, with brilliant green eyes and flaming red hair to complement it. She broke her gaze and looked towards the doorway. "**! **''* **!" she said, in an unknown tongue, then looked back at Spencer. "*** ******?" She asked him, again in the unknown language. "Uh, I can''t understand what you''re saying." Spencer responding, and shrugged his shoulders. The girl looked at him confusedly, then motioned herself eating food and pointed at him. Spencer realized she was trying to ask him if he was hungry, so he nodded his head. She ran off to another part of the house, he guessed, and came back with a plate full of what looked like chicken and bread. Spencer devoured his meal, and looked to the doorway where a man around 30 was staring at him. He had the girl''s green eyes, but had a head of brown hair. Spencer tried to thank him for the meal, but yet again was stopped by the language barrier in between them. The man sighed and went back to another part of the house. He came back with a pad of parchment and a quill. He drew a field with a man working in it, drew some food, and drew arrows between the two. Spencer understood and nodded. Chores for food and shelter was a fair deal, and maybe he could get some recommendations for work so he and his friends could start their quest. All heroes had humble beginnings, after all. Link was a farmer, the Dragonborn was a prisoner, and Batman was an orphan. They went out to the empty field. From Spencer''s limited knowledge of crops, he determined if they were planting, it must Spring. The field was rampant with weeds and he supposed that was where they were going to start. The farmer motioned over to the other side of the field and started weeding. Spencer went to the opposite corner and did the same. What happened next changed his story in ways he wouldn''t have thought possible. He was going to originally just be a ranged attacker while the others wailed on whatever bad guy they were facing. Now he could be whatever. He got a notification, much like when the goddess was talking to him.

Farming: Basic Lv. 1 (2.02%)
Spencer managed to contain his excitement. This was amazing. Not only could he make food for them all, he could also get skills! He could do anything from cooking to marksmanship. He loved both, so the idea of all this was amazing. He continued to weed, and to his amazement, he leveled up his skill.
Skill Level Up!
Farming: Basic Lv. 2 (3.21%)
He couldn''t believe it. This world had so much more potential now! Before, if he wanted to get better at farming, he had to have the knowledge, now he could do the same monotonous task over and over until he got the level he desired. He noticed another thing. When he leveled the skill up, his hands moved faster, more deftly, and the weed got stuck less times. He wished he could see all his skills, though. The second he said that, a menu popped up.

This was amazing. Before he knew it, he Spencer had finished his side of the field in about twice the time it took the farmer. Still, it was pretty good for someone who had never farmed before. The farmer did look impressed, and brought out a hand-held plow, the kind that you pushed yourself. He almost finished when the sun went down. Luckily he only had one row left to do, so he finished by the light of the setting sun. He made it back to the house right as it was pitch black. Inside there were candles to keep it relatively light, and the table was set for three, so he sat down. The girl came out a moment later with some soup. She tried to start a conversation, and after many attempts, failed. Spencer was just sort of beginning to understand when he got a new notification.
Spoken Language: Morthan has reached 10% mastery!
Instantly, he could make out some words. "**** on, ********, You have to **** *********!" The girl was saying. Spencer gasped. He said, "I can understand you!" The girl looked surprised. "You **** a *** *****!" the girl responded. Spencer had punched a hole in the language barrier. If he could learn languages like this, he would''ve stayed on Earth a little longer. Of course, he had never heard of ''Morthan'' before. Also, it said spoken language. Did this mean he couldn''t write it? He supposed it didn''t matter. After a bit more conversation, they both went to bed. Spencer thought about the events of that day. Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. He had gone to another world, possibly on another planet. He wouldn''t see anybody he knew for a week, and he would see his friends in five days, four when he woke up. He wondered if they would land in the same place he did. After traveling to this world, he woke up in a bed in a strange house where he met two seemingly friendly people. There seemed to be nicer people here than on Earth. He then had gone to work, where he learned he could attain skills. He also learned he could learn new languages fairly quickly. Today sure was an experience, that''s for sure. He fell into a deep sleep. Spencer once again woke up, to find himself in the same house, but a thought occurred to him. Where had his stuff gone? Maybe they knew where it was. He had to ask them when he knew more of the language. He walked into the kitchen, where the girl was sitting, eating a slice of bread. They exchanged greetings and Spencer sat down. He grabbed a slice of bread, put some of what looked and tasted like butter on it, and chowed down. He thought about a plan of action. He wanted to expand his skill set, and also wanted to explore the area. Just as he was finishing up, the farmer called him outside. They were going to put the seeds in, cover them, and water them. He handed Spencer a stack of seeds and they stated. This went a lot faster than last time, and before Spencer knew it, he was done. He looked over his work. The farmer''s side of the field looked better and neater, but Spencer''s side looked decent. The farmer patted him on the back. The farmer said, "Today''s ****** are ****." Spencer and the farmer went inside, and Spencer noticed a bow leaning in a corner. He pointed to it, then pretended to fire a few arrows. The farmer happily let him have it, as long as he could keep all the game he shot. Spencer guessed that killing other animals and saving farm animals for later was much preferred. He took up the bow, grabbed a knife just in case and walked into the nearby forest. Spencer looked around. He didn''t go outside often on Earth, mainly because outside meant heat and dust, but when they took trips north to the forests for camping, he would explore for hours. He loved to fish and just explore the untouched wilderness. He could hear the songs of the birds, the soft grass, the rough bark, it was just beautiful. After a bit of walking, he saw a wild elk... thing. He grabbed an arrow from his quiver, lined up his shot, drew back the arrow, held his breath and counted to three. The arrow hit the elk in the leg. Spencer dashed forward towards the elk before it could hobble away. He stood over the body, put a foot on its side, and sliced it''s throat. He was unprepared for the result of the foolish action. Blood went everywhere. It got on his shoes and pants, and the pure forest he had loved so much was tainted by the blood of an innocent animal. The elk cried out one last cry as the last of its life drained out through its wounds. Spencer had tears in his eyes and carried the elk back to the farmer''s house, along with the bow, arrows, and bloody dagger. The farmer was delighted and tried to teach Spencer how to skin and take the meat from his kill. With teary, blurry eyes, he skinned it rather poorly and left the meat to the farmer. Spencer went to his bed. The farmer walked in some minuteslater with a block of wood and the dagger, now cleaned. He started whittling, and a few minutes later Spencer could make out a deer on a wooden pedestal. Spencer thanked the farmer for the beautiful present. The farmer had another block of wood and handed Spencer the dagger. This piece of wood was long and very thin, so he decided to make an arrow from it. Spencer started by whittling all the bark from it, and made the end in a point. It was crude, but it was an arrow. He refined it by cutting of the bumps and carving notches into the end for feathers. The farmer handed Spencer some fine dust and motioned to rub it on the shaft. Soon enough, it was smooth and Spencer had made his very own arrow. Feeling much better, Spencer went to lay down and the farmer left him. He decided to finally sort through his messages.

Spencer felt accomplished and noticed that it was sundown. Not feeling hungry, he shut his eyes and went into a dreamless sleep. Chapter 4. It was another day, and Spencer went back to the woods. He was going to learn to be a better hunter, and ask the farmer if he knew how to tan hides to make equipment. First, however, he had to get more animal skins. He steeled himself and walked quietly into the woods. After a couple minutes of walking nearly silently, he got another skill.

Silent Movement: Basic Lv. 1 (5.02%)
He could tell he was going down the path of becoming a hunter, which he was okay with, but he wanted to explore more choices as well. When he finally learned Morthan, he would leave the house to go to a city. He, of course, would wait for his friends. Then a thought struck him. Why hadn''t he used his power for hunting! He had neglected it for so long, he wondered if it would still work. Luckily, he just spotted an elk. He whispered "Stop" and the world froze again. In a smooth motion, he drew and fired an arrow right at the elk''s head. It was a shot worthy of an award. He had hit the elk clean in the eye, piercing the brain and killing it instantly, with no blood. He then got two notifications.

Timed Shot: Unique
Spencer thought about this ''Unique'' skill. There was no level on it, possibly because the skill couldn''t be improved, after all, how would you improve a skill that was pretty OP already. Spencer wondered if his power was a skill. he didn''t see it in his skill list earlier, but he didn''t really look for it. He would think about that later. He walked forward again, but sensed something watching him. He looked to his left, and saw a wolf creeping towards him. The wolf, realizing it had been spotted, jumped at Spencer. Spencer panicked and stopped time for a second, then sidestepped. He heard the notification sound and grinned. This was a good chance to weaponize his time powers. The wolf crashed into the ground, looking quite confused. It went into another jumping stance and Spencer held his bow with an arrow ready to fire. The wolf jumped at him again and Spencer stopped time and fired another arrow, aiming for the wolf''s eye. The arrow hit it''s mark, but it wasn''t strong enough to pierce it''s brain. The wolf was bleeding and couldn''t see out of one eye, Spencer clearly had the advantage, but he didn''t want to get cocky. He got into a defensive stance this time, and the wolf jumped at him again, but overshot his mark due to his lack of depth perception. He jumped into a tree, smashing his face into it. Unfortunately, he had also hit the arrow against the tree, which sent it into his skull and it pierced his brain. The wolf dropped to the ground and died, its teeth still clenched together. Spencer looked at his notifications.

Spencer was overwhelmed by all these messages. He had used his power again and got another unique skill, got a skill he could use in actual fights and hunting, got a defensive skill, and... leveled up? He named his new skill Timed Dodge, and wanted to know how to spend his points. He tried a bunch of commands, but Character brought up his screen, and he was again assaulted by a screen.

That was exactly what Spencer was expecting to happen. It worked like you would expect it to. Strength affected Health, Endurance affected Stamina, and Intelligence affected Mana He could guess what the rest did. He raised everything to 12, then increased Luck and Perception to 15 each. He wanted to aim better with more critical hits. He was surprised at the next message he got.

Spencer knew what to choose. He had set on the path of being a hunter, and by god he was going to get the best stuff possible from his kills. Hunting meant leather, and leather meant gear. He chose the Hunter perk and carried his kills back to the house. it was around 4 he guessed, so he went to the table outside and took care of the animals. He didn''t get nearly as sick as last time, and leveled up the skill to level 3. Apparently getting the meat was a part of skinning, so any levels he got for skinning helped him get better meat, which would lead to better meals. Spencer was going to be the backbone of their group if it killed him. All these menus that made this whole world like a game got Spencer thinking. It dawned on him, he must have an inventory! That''s probably where all his stuff went! He whispered inventory and a box-like menu showed up. It had twenty slots, but two of them where being taken up by both of his suitcases! He took one out, then put it back in. Now that he had his stuff, he could leave the house any time he wanted! Except... he had to wait for his friends. Spencer sighed. What if they all went to different places? What if they went to different worlds. He would stick around one more day, as tomorrow was the end of their 7 days to prepare. He walked into his room, picked up a piece of wood and started to carve a blade. He learned that he didn''t really need sleep, at least not every night. He spent the whole night until dawn making them all weapons. He was going to be the rogue, so he went into the forest and started to look for trees. Spencer was making himself a bow, so he needed a bendy wood, and located what looked like a fir tree. The wood was bendy and rather strong, so it would work for him. He also needed several pieces of wood for Kyle and Eric. Kyle was the rogue, but he was also going to be melee, Spencer called dibs on ranged. Eric was going to use magic, and in games. Spencer wasn''t too sure about magical wood, so he just picked up a lot of oak wood. He went back to the house, again and started with arrows, doing what he did last time. Eventually, he reached level 5 in whittling and was confident enough to make Eric''s club/staff. He got a thick branch about 3/4 his height and started to taper one end. His result was a thick block of wood, but it didn''t look magical enough, so he rounded the top and carved lines into it that gave it the appearance of being old and lumpy, and it looked way more wizrd-ish. After that, he was at level 7 for whittling, so it seemed like the more complex the object, the more experience he gained. His carvings were getting better, so he made Kyle''s dagger and sword, as that seemed the logical mix of warrior and rogue. He made the dagger with a crossbar that curved outward, so he could trap enemy''s swords, and he made the sword with a crossbar that curved inward so the swords would slide off. He made both with a generic blade, and they were both fairly boring. Spencer reached level ten, and set out to make his bow. He carved a straight piece of wood and bent it by attaching a string on both ends. He carved some intricate designs into it, carved a notched into it for the arrow, and added a small reticle for aiming. All in all, all of his weapons looked basic and like shit, but they would serve their purpose. Despite the fact that the weapons were not high quality, it took all night, and Spencer walked outside to see his two best friends lying on the ground, looking dazed. Chapter 5. Spencer looked at his passed out friends. Even if they were unconscious, it was great to see familiar faces. He started dragging them over to the house. He could carry Kyle, but Eric was bigger. He gave up and leaned them both against a shady tree near the field he had worked in. He could see the blossoming of life as tiny peaks of green crested the dirt mounds. Before he could get more poetic, Kyle woke up. "What the hell?" Kyle mumbled, still half-asleep. Spencer picked Kyle up and hugged him. Kyle told Spencer to calm down, and Spencer told Kyle to wait until Eric was up for the tutorial. Spencer glanced towards Eric and noticed he was smiling. "You''re awake, aren''t you?" Spencer asked "Yeah, ever since you dragged us over to this tree." Eric responded, then opened his eyes with a grin. "And you didn''t help? Jerk move, dude." Spencer then proceeded to tell them the full story of his week here. He started with him arriving a week early, but he left out the part where he was the favorite hero. He continued and told of the nice farmer and his daughter, and the strange language they speak. He explained skills and the inventory, and his combat experience. When he finally finished his tale, Kyle and Eric had gaping mouths. Apparently they were on different pages. Kyle spoke first. "You took the ranged class? Asshole!" "All I had was the bow, we could still change classes, I guess." Spencer responded, scratching his head. Eric was still speechless and befuddled at the torrent of information he had gotten. He sputtered, then finally managed "Wizard... skills?" Spencer did his best to respond, "I haven''t toyed with magic yet, Eric, but I''m sure you can be a wizard." Spencer went back inside of the house and gathered his few possessions, and said a goodbye to the farmer and his daughter. When he got back to his friends, Kyle and Eric were arguing. "Just let him be ranged for once, Kyle! You never let him do what he wants!" "You''re only saying that because nobody wants to be a wizard!" Spencer butted in, "It''s fine, really guys. I like doing whatever." Spencer looked both ways down the path they were walking to. It looked like a highway that could lead to a city, but he wasn''t sure where it could lead. He could see the faintest bump on the horizon that could mean a town, but the other way looked just as good. Spencer pulled a quarter out of his jeans and performed the old ritual of the coin flip to decide. Tails he would go left, towards the bump, and heads meant the other way. The coin landed perfectly in his hand. It was Tails. "Alright guys, let''s go this way!" Spencer yelled to Kyle and Eric, who were still glaring daggers at each other. They started walking, and they discussed what they really wanted to do other than the whole ''save the world'' thing. "I want to make a base and craft all sorts of things!" Spencer said. "Uh, I guess I want to be a master thief, and amass huge riches!" Kyle said "Wizard." Eric said, bluntly. Spencer froze. He could see the faint outlines of people with weapons up ahead, poorly hiding behind a bush. The hunting skill may only help him with killing animals, but the practice helped him notice things better. Spencer whispered to his friends to stop, gave Eric his club/staff, gave Kyle the bow and arrows he had worked on, and Grabbed the sword and dagger for himself. They may be wooden, but it''s better than fists. "There might be bandits up ahead, be careful guys." Spencer told his group. They walked forward at a normal pace, acting like they didn''t see the bandits, who had just sprung out from behind the bush. One had a rusty longsword, and the other had two curved daggers. "Your stuff or your life." The bandit with the sword said gruffly. Spencer got into a defensive stance, Kyle backed away, and Eric held out his staff with one hand. Then, attacking as a group, Spencer disarmed the warrior with lightning speed, Eric clubbed the Rogue, and Kyle shot an arrow at the rogue''s feet. In the span of five seconds, they had taken care of the bandits. The rogue cried out in pain and fell over. The warrior looked at his fallen comrade and took a swing at Spencer. Spencer used his Timed Dodge ability and ducked under the blow. He struck at the warrior''s legs, making a shallow gash across his knees. The warrior fell over, and Eric knocked him out with his club. The battle was over and Spencer could tell they all had gotten notifications.

After everyone had finished with their menus, Spencer looked around a bit more. Kyle was looting the bandit''s bodies, and Eric was saying spell names trying to get something to happen. Spencer noticed a wagon a bit away, hidden behind some trees. He called his friends over. As it turns out, there was a mage in the party, and Kyle kind of assassinated him with one of the daggers. The sword and other dagger had gone to Spencer. He gave Eric the robes, and they fit him fairly well. They also apparently increase his mana and mana regeneration. In the cart was all kinds of other loot. There was an assortment of money, some regular clothes, which Spencer and Kyle changed in to, because jeans and a t-shirt was kind of weird. There was also a shield, but Spencer hated shields, parrying or disarming was much better. The best thing they found couldn''t have been a coincidence. There were three tomes in the cart, one for each of them. Kyle received a book that taught him the basics of pickpocketing and stealing, Spencer received a book that taught him how to tan hides, and possibly best of all, Eric got a book that taught him how to manipulate his mana. The fact that they all found skill books in things they all wanted to do was too weird. They shrugged it off anyways. They also had a new vehicle to drive in, and although there was no horse to been seen, Eric could now use his mana to push them forwards every so often. All in all, life was good, and it turns out that the bump started getting bigger and bigger until a town came in to view. Unfortunately, their good luck couldn''t continue, as when they got there, the town was under siege. There was a bunch of bandits looting and razing the town, and luckily for the town, three heroes had just arrived. They parked half a mile away and ran towards the town. Kyle arrived first and started climbing a tall building. Apparently their knowledge of how to do certain things did transition over from Earth. Eric and Spencer ran into the town, with Eric behind Spencer. There were ten bandits in the clearing, all begging to be knocked out. Spencer ran towards one and jumped, kicking out with his leg at the bandit''s chest and slicing the bandit''s arm with his dagger. The metal one did a lot more, and the bandit stood, clutching his arm. Spencer used the pommel of his sword to knock him out and moved on to the next one. This time he was swung at first, and barely dodged the sword swipe, it grazing his shoulder. He stabbed at the bandit''s right hand, making him drop his weapon and Spencer once again knocked the bandit out. This continued until only two bandits remained. Then another one appeared behind them, but he looked intelligent, and ready to kill the three. It was the bandit leader. Two arrows quickly made their way into the goons guarding the leader and his smile faltered. Spencer ran forward, but before he reached the bandit leader, a glowing blue orb whizzed past his ear, hitting the bandit leader in the knee. He staggered forward and swung horizontally, as Spencer stepped backwards to avoid it, the leader changed his attack to a lunge and stabbed Spencer in the chest. Spencer stepped back once again before the leader could do any more damage, feigned left, then swung with an overhead strike. It connected, and the bandit leader landed with a thud on the ground. An arrow hit the bandit leader''s leg right as Spencer collapsed and passed out. Spencer woke up an hour later, with a cloth wrapped around his chest. He had received a flurry of messages and naturally had to check them all. He had a few level ups of some skills and got a new skill that let him overhead smash people like he did to the bandit leader. He also leveled up himself twice and had a very interesting notification.
