《Nature Restart》 Chapter 1 - Prologue Chapter 1 - Prologue In the morning, a boy woke up. Surrounded by plants in every corner of the room, a smile bloomed on the boy''s face. "Good morning guys," greeted the boy as he yawned. The plants, as if responding to the boy''s greetings, waved their leaves. The boy himself, had an unusual natural hair color and eye color, which was both bright green. Combined with his strange obsession for plants, anyone would think that the boy is actually one himself. Soon enough, he walked to the bathroom and took a quick bath, just to get rid of his body odor. Pure pale skin, combined with a small body stature, some might even think he is actually a girl, when he is not. A few minutes later, he went out of the bathroom as he had finished taking a bath. Walking to his wardrobe, he opened it and started staring at his clothes in it. "Hm.... what should I wear for today..," he thought as he kept switching glances between the clothes. In his wardrobe, was multiple identical jackets with hoods, each of them being in various color. Despite the similarities, it took the boy 15 minutes to finally make a decision, and he decided to go with the red one. After putting on his jacket and a pair of trousers, he walked to the door. But as he was about to leave, he realized something important. "Oh, I haven''t watered the plants!" Turning back, he quickly ran to the bathroom and took a cup. With that cup, he filled it with water and then used it to water the plants, one by one. He did this 30 times, considering that he had 30 plants in his room. It didn''t take long for the boy to finish watering his plants, counting only around 15 minutes. Confirming that he didn''t miss any, he placed the cup back in the bathroom before leaving the house. "Well then, I''ll be off!" said the boy while waving at his plants. As he walked outside his room, he turned back only to see the greenhouse, acting as his current room and living place. Given as a gift by his parents, the boy had decided to make it his room, house and living place, all in one thanks to his obsession. Naturally, his mother and father rejected the proposal strictly at first, but gave up in the end considering how much they had loved their son and wish to fulfill his request. The boy himself, possessing quite the intelligent mind had graduated from the high school at the mere age of 12. As such, nothing had held him back on making his decisions. In the present, the boy did everything there was to be done ranging from fixing computers, taking care of animals and even cooking, but nothing beats his favorite of taking care of plants. Thanks to his freelancer job, the boy has quite the income that can support his daily necessities without requiring help from his wealthy parents. Today, he decided that he would visit the Plant Centre to buy fertilizers for his plants as he is running low on them. Walking through the entrance, his face is instantly recognized by the shopkeeper as the boy has quite the reputation and is well-known within the city for his carefree and kind attitude. "Welcome, I was expecting that you would come by today!" "Thank you!" "I presume you are here for fertilizers?" inquired the shopkeeper. "Yes, I am. Is there any in stock?" the boy answered. While holding her hands together, the shopkeeper happily stated, "Oh yes, of course! There will always be some left for you, my boy. Now then, please come with me." Getting out of the counter, the shopkeeper gestured for the boy to follow her. Without a question, he followed her to enter the storage where the items are kept. In it, various tools, materials and things related to planting are neatly arranged on the shelves, extending way to the back. As the shopkeeper kept on walking, he simply followed her footstep while watching the things in the storage room which amazes him every single time. After a few seconds, the shopkeeper stopped, and so did the boy. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it "There it is! Here, take it," said the shopkeeper while handing two bags of small fertilizers to the boy. Grabbing hold of the two bags, the boy replied, "Thank you very much! How much is it for these two?" "It''s free today, my boy. The world is saved if we had a lot more people like you, so it''s a way for me to express my gratitude for relentlessly taking care of plants." praising the boy, she patted him on his head while doing so. "Eh...? But.. but..." "When I say it''s fine, it''s fine! Now, off you go," finishing her sentence, she pushed the boy softly toward the storage room''s door. "Well.... then I''ll take it, thank you!" slowly, he ran toward the exit and waved at the shopkeeper. "It''s my pleasure. Hope to see you again soon!" Exiting the Plant Centre, he kept thinking of how he should he return the gift given by the shopkeeper during his next visit. Soon enough, he decided to put that matter aside and focus on returning home. While on the way, he noticed that a strange group of people chasing a man that appears to be carrying with him something that looks like a bag. Clueless of the impending danger, the boy stood in the way of that man while trying to figure out what''s happening. Suddenly, the man who was running away from the group of people, grabbed the confused boy and pointed something blunt and black at the boy''s head. Unknown to the boy, it''s actually a gun. The peoples that was chasing him, stopped in their track as they saw the man''s action. To make matters worse, they all turned pale blue as they recognized the boy who was being held hostage. Panting heavily in exhaustion, the suspicious man stated, "If you want this boy to live, then stop chasing me!" "Coward! Put the boy down and leave him alone! He has nothing to do with this!" in anger, one of the man in the group shouted. "Uuu... guys? What''s going on here...?" asked the boy. Despite the boy''s intelligence, he never knew of the existence of evil in this world. Fully pure, he was as if a treasure of the city, being the only one untainted from the darkness. Additionally, most of his time was spent being with the plants, so he never knew the hidden dark nature of humanity. As such, the current event plagued him with various questions as he never experienced it himself. Suddenly, the one that shouted in reply at first, charged forward as he attempted to save the boy. But all of that soon enough turned hundreds of regret into himself, when one deafening sound roared everywhere. The boy was shot, in the chest. "NOOO!!!" screamed one of the lady within the group. "Hehe... you left me no choice." Falling on his knee, the man who attempted to save the boy simply watched as the feeling of regret grasped his heart. The boy, the one who he meant to save, had died. Filled with rage, the rest of the crowds charged at the man who held the gun, disregarding their safety in that matter. Fortunately, that sudden change of the situation shattered the gunner''s concentration and causing every shot of his to miss. Taking only a few seconds, he was outnumbered and easily apprehended in the end. However, despite their courageous feat, the peoples there was filled with sadness. A life, pure and kind, had been lost that day. A few days later, a ceremony was held to mourn for the boy''s death. The big church hall, which often are impossible to be filled, was full that day as everyone in the city had attended the ceremony. Little did they know, that the boy''s life was about to take a 360 degree spin. Chapter 2 - Natures Princess Chapter 2 - Nature''s Princess In another dimension far away from the world where the boy died...... existed the soul that once lived in his body. For a while, it floated in darkness and without self-conscious. Soon enough, a voice was heard and made the boy''s soul regain his consciousness. "Perfect," stated the voice. "... where... am I?" the soul replied. "The body, which once hosted your pure soul, has ceased to function," the voice continued. "....Does that mean... I died?" flickering in worry, the soul asked. "In a way.... yes. But worry not, I shall revive you into a better world, protected by our kinds that you once taken care of." "What.. do you mean?" "They would love to be by your side, their new.... Nature''s...... Princess." "No... wait..." Without giving the soul a second to voice his thought and questions, his was sucked into a hole that appeared almost instantly in front of him. Soon enough, he lost consciousness yet again, as he felt himself being wrapped in kindness and warmth. After a few minutes, the boy woke up. However, the view that was laid out in front of him was different from his usual greenhouse. In his surroundings, instead of glasses and plants, only trees, grasses and plants covered his view. Looking behind his back, he saw a huge tree with withered leaves and branches that almost lost its colors. Placing his hands on the tree''s bark, he could almost feel how it''s not responding. "It''s dead..." he thought. But that wasn''t all. His whole body felt different than usual. It''s as if he became smaller, and also weaker. Curious, he began looking at his own body and to his surprise, it was the body of an infant. That wasn''t the end of it however, as when he noticed how he did not have his son on his lower part, his consciousness literally flew away for a while, although not for long. After a while, he tried to figure out the situation while rubbing his head. "I have heard and known of the term reincarnation..... but can this possibly be it?" he wondered. It didn''t take long before yet another thing disturbed his train of thought because something was on his head while rubbing it. Through further inspections, he felt a soft and flexible stuff that felt like a stick and at the end of it, was something that felt like flower buds. It took him a moment before realizing two things. First, he was reincarnated, as a baby girl to be exact while still retaining all normal human features. Secondly, a flower grew on his head. Thanks to his calm demeanor and intelligent mind however, he decided not to get panicked as he knew that nothing good can come out of it. Following after his... her discovery, a male elf suddenly stepped forward from behind one of the trees. The elf had a yellow hair, while wearing leather armor and a pair of pants unknown to the girl. Attached to his back was a bow and some arrows on his waist. "It''s an honor to be the first elf to wit-" as he was about to kneel down to the girl, his face was painted in the emotion of surprise. "Your highness, this may sound disrespectful but allow us to bring you a set of clothes." "Clothes? Oh ok," replied the girl as she noticed she can speak and soon enough, realized she was naked. The elf then pulled out something that looked like a horn out of his pouch and blew it. No sound came out from it, but after a few minutes, some other elves started appearing out of the woodwork. Some carried clothes, while others swords and bows with them. In a hurry, a female elf began putting on a silk cloth onto the girl, while the rest simply covered her from the view of the male elves. It took them only a few seconds, and as soon as they were done, they dispersed and regrouped with the rest of the elves. "Resuming my introduction just now, it''s an honor to be the first to witness your existence. My name is Trevtas, the King of the Elves." Claiming that, he began kneeling down to the girl. The rest of the elves didn''t hesitate and did the same as the first one did, thus clarifying the truth of which he may be the elves'' king. The girl on the other hand, flinched back a little due to the sudden treatment. Experiencing the situation foreign to her, the girl replied, "Umm... please, stand up and no need for formalities. I have only recently been brought to this world. However truthfully told, I would appreciate it if someone can explain the situation here." "Very well and it will be my pleasure, your Highness." he said as he stood up. Following his actions, the rest of the elves also stood up. As Trevtas is about to explain, the girl''s feet felt weak. It appears that her body could not take much activity and required constant rest, due to it being small and more fragile than it looked. "Ahh... how I wish I can sit," she thought. Suddenly, as if responding to her wishes, roots bursted out of the ground and started entangling with each other. A few seconds later, it formed a structure that looked like a chair and covered itself with leaves to increase the comfortability. A little shocked at first, the girl simply stared at the mini chair-like roots for a few seconds before deciding that she can stand no longer and sat herself on it. The rest of the elves on the other hand, were simply amazed as the girl that was recently created in this world, was already capable of utilizing some of her abilities. "May I continue, your Highness?" Trevtas inquired. "Unnn... yes," she answered as she relaxed herself It didn''t take seconds after Trevtas started to explain everything to the her. It was known that the dead tree behind her is in fact Yggdrasil. Nearing its time, Yggdrasil made the decision of using every last of power it had to reincarnate the boy which was now a girl into this world to replace Yggdrasil and become the Princess of Nature. Regarding why Yggdrasil turned the boy into a girl, it was quite simple. When leading the nature, the female gender had an advantage over the male gender for their synchronization rate with the nature is much higher, combined with their loving personality. For the boy, his over-loving personality for plants was more than enough so the only problem was his synchro rate. To make things easier to explain, if the boy was to command nature, it would take a slight time interval before they were executed. If he was a girl instead, it would take no time at all. There were more advantages, but Trevtas said he didn''t know as Yggdrasil didn''t tell him. However, that wasn''t all. In order to ensure that she can play the role of the Princess more efficiently, Yggdrasil was forced to wipe out the memory of her old world except herself, her obsession of plants and changed her personality by a little. It wished that it had another way around it, but sadly there was none. Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. "Then.... what about my name?" asked the girl. "Yggdrasil said it was to be Rene, your Highness," Trevtas replied. "Rene...... I like it, Yggdra..." turning back, she started patting the tree bark while smiling, with a slight hint of sadness. Trevtas and the elves had been a faithful alliance to the nature itself, so Yggdrasil requested that he and his kind to watch over Rene during her growth in order to ensure that no life-threatening harm befell the princess. In the end, she concluded that she needed to accept the changes around her like it''s nothing and decided to live with it. Even about the fact that she used to be a boy. After all, rejection would bring nothing regardless of how much effort she poured in it, for Yggdrasil itself had died. "What''s the point of struggling? Might as well enjoy the new life I was granted with," she thought. Turning around to look at the trees surrounding her as far as her eyes can see, a smile bloomed once more on her face. Finally getting the hang of commanding nature, Rene instructed the roots to return underground and she stood up. "I look forward to the time we will be spending together, everyone!" Rene exclaimed cheerfully while opening up her arm as if to greet the elves. "Yes, your highness!" the crowds of elves replied. . .. ... A day after Rene was reincarnated, the dead Yggdrasil soon enough disappeared from the land where it once grew on. She felt a little sharp pain in her heart after witnessing it, but decided to put it in the past and move on as a sign of gratitude to Yggdrasil. During her free time which was all the time, she took the prosperity of wandering around in her new surrounding area, full of curiosity. The elves naturally allowed it since Rene was within the forest boundary, where her magic power was at the highest. Additionally, the trees themselves could protect her. One time, she stumbled upon a lake and began swimming inside it and then almost drowned. There was also a time when she tried to eat a fruit due to hunger but suddenly shed tears. That was because she tried to eat herself, or her own kind to be precise. Confused, this caused her to starve for a while. Rene then figured out thanks to Trevsta that to actually satisfy her hunger, she just need to absorb some water and get her flower exposed to sunlight. Otherwise, the flower on her head would wilt and Rene herself would die. She laughed the moment Trevtas told her as this fact was so obvious and yet, she missed it. If one thinks her life was perfectly safe without harm, they were absolutely wrong. On a particular day when Rene was 6 years old... "Urghh..... Trevtas, it hurts! It hurts!" cried Rene painfully. "Your highness! What''s wrong?!" worried of Rene''s sudden suffering, he inquired while holding her. "Someone... someone is.... *sob*... it...hurts," while trying to reply, she suddenly fainted. "Your Highness! Tch, everyone, grab you weapon and come with me!" lifting the unconscious Rene, he commanded his men. "Please... wait here, your Highness.. I swear on my life I will find the source of your suffering," he continued while slowly placing her down on the ground. The moment Trevtas placed her on the ground, branches from nearby trees began extending and wrapped Rene. Next, they lifted her high up in the air and covered her in leaves. Trevtas, assured of the Princess''s safety, hastily headed out to search the cause of her sudden pain. A few hours later, one of the elves reported a sighting of a lumberjack within Rene''s forest boundary. He was seen chopping down a few trees with an axe. Trevtas soon enough realized that the lumberjack was the very reason why Rene felt the sudden pain. "Attack that man and kill him for causing our princess to suffer!" filled with anger, he shouted while pointing toward the lumberjack. "For the princess!" his men replied. One of the elves shot an arrow to the lumberjack''s legs to make sure he doesn''t escape. Following up, three elves carrying a spear, a dagger and a sword jumped down the tree and began inflicting blows toward the man in three different direction. The lumberjack himself, caught off-guard couldn''t possibly do anything. From his back, the elf with a dagger rapidly stabbed the man, causing him to bleed dangerously. To his left front, was the elf with the spear who kept striking the man''s limbs added by the elf with the sword to his right front who continually slashed the lumberjack. It didn''t take long until the lumberjack was considerably weakened and could barely do anything to resist. The elf with the spear, attempting to end that man''s life charged to him targeting his chest. It was then, branches suddenly began covering the poor man. "Stop! Do not attack those branches!" Trevtas commanded, recalling how inflicting damage on it would cause Rene to feel the same. The elf who was about to strike the man down, halted his charge and jumped back. During the confusion, the trees took the chance and started carrying the lumberjack away, half-dead. Dazzled of the sudden action of the trees, Trevtas simply stared as that man was carried away. "Why?" in anger, he questioned. Suddenly, the tree branches began forming letters trying to answer his question, and their reply was, "PRINCESS WISH NO UNNECESSARY DEATH." "I see..." Trevtas sigh as he attempt to bury his fury. Since that day, Trevtas took the initiative of patrolling around the forest by himself in the event on the appearence of intruders. The rest of the elves, amazed by his efforts, joined the patrolling group as well. In any case, a human was never seen wandering inside Rene''s forest anymore after the escaped lumberjack. Trevtas circulated that the survivor probably spread a rumor of the danger within the forest here, thus causing other humans to stay away. Despite the incident that day, it never impeded Rene''s wish of enjoying her life as it was then, or rather, it just motivated her even more knowing that her life as she knew it, may end in the near future. Slowly but surely, she was on her way to become, a true Nature''s Princess.
Author''s side : Hopefully all of you enjoyed the chapter! Also, looking for PR please o.o. Sorry for the short note as well, since I am using a phone to write :b. Chapter 3 - Humans Darkness Chapter 3 - Human''s Darkness 12 years had passed since the time Rene was reincarnated into this world by Yggdrasil. During her growth, she became capable of controlling her own power and to naturally command complex instructions. Furthermore, she were capable of communicating with every living things which was known to be impossible for anyone. Today, Rene was simply walking around in the forest looking for the best place to absorb sunlight. It didn''t take long for her to find the best place where the sunlight was the strongest, and as soon as she did, Rene instantly sprinted toward the spot and sitted on one of the tree roots that was sticking out of the ground. "La...la..la..lala," Rene hummed happily as she moved her foots up and down. "Replenishing yourself, aren''t you? Quite the cheerful princess, hahaha," the tree she sat on laughed. "Oh, I''m sorry Mr.Tree. I just want to get some sunlight right now, so please excuse me for a moment," Rene replied with an apologetic tone while pointing her finger toward her flower. "No, not at all! In fact, it''s a pleasure to able to serve as a sitting place for our little princess. Please, do take your time." "If you say so then I''ll take up on the offer, thank you!" With the tree''s permission, she continued to relax on it while absorbing sunlight. Constantly, Rene rubbed the flower on her head softly while looking at the sky. Suddenly, the tree she was sitting on begin talking again, interrupting her meal time. "My princess, sorry to disturb your rest, but one of our kinds reported the sight of a human adventurer near our forest boundary!" "A human? Hmm... usually Trevtas deals with them, right? Where is he?" Rene asked while pressing one of her finger to her chin. "That elf whereabout is currently unknown, but it is best to expect he won''t be coming around anytime soon," the tree answered. "Unn... is that so? Then, I''ll come and see it for myself. I haven''t met one, so I''m excited!" Rene exclaimed. "Then, please be careful, princess," said the tree, worried of her safety. In the corner of Rene''s forest boundary, a man was leaning against one of the tree. Located in front of him, were three big brown wolves that had red lines running up all over their body, pulsating a black aura. On the other hand, the man lost his left arm, bleeding and was only wielding a longsword with his right hand. He was wearing leather armor but the size didn''t fit him correctly as it was a little too big. Potentially, it may had been a stolen armor. The man also had a red hair while wearing an orange bandana, a black eye and slightly black skin. "Damn, I''m lost in these thick forests and three demonic wolves got me cornered here, what a bad luck," cursed the man angrily. "No matter, I need to survive and at least get something out of this forest!" he added. Mustering every last strength he had, the man stood up and took a fighting stance with his weapon. The three wolves knowing that their prey was weakening, allowed him to stand for them to witness his desperate attempt on trying to survive. As if toying with him, one of the wolves jumped and pushed him back on the ground. Since they are quite strong however, that simple push was enough to cause the man to cough blood as he fell down on the ground against the tree. "Urgh, they''re playing with me!" he thought. After a while, the wolves noticed that the man was already too weak to be their plaything. They jumped at him, baring their teeth and claws with the mean of ending his life. The victim himself, realizing every effort to stay alive was futile, decides to close his eyes in the end. It was then in a split second, a child voice in the distant can be heard. "It''s corrupted wolves.... is it not possible to save them?" said the voice in a depressed manner. As if talking to someone, the voice continued, "I see... at the very least, I''ll help grant them their rightful rest." In a short moment after the appearance of the unknown voice, the trembling ground followed by painful cries of the wolves could be felt and heard. Curious on what happened, the man opened up his eyes to only found out that there were stone spears impaled within the chest of the three wolves while being restrained by vines. Seizing the opportunity, the man stood up once more, grabbed his longsword and decapitated the wolves'' heads while they were immobilized. As his was considerably exhausted and injured, he didn''t last for a second before falling back down on the ground. Surveying his surrounding, the man shouted, "Come out, whoever you are!" For a few minutes, there was no reply and only the silentness of the forest was his answer. He was already dying, so he had no means of leaving the place even if he wanted to. "Are they gone?" he wondered. When he was almost about to give up every hope of identifying the voice, a warm sensation can suddenly be felt covering his body. When he looked down, to his surprise, vines were everywhere wrapping his limbs, torso, his left arm and anything that suffered injury. At first, they appear as if to be restraining him, but it didn''t take him long to notice that the vines is in fact healing him. "Please don''t move for a while, this won''t hurt." the voice reappeared, this time in front of him. "Who are you? Show yourself!" the man replied. As requested by him, the owner of the voice slowly stepped outside from one of the tree, which was actually Rene. To the man, she was a little girl that looked like a child around the age of 12. Rene was wearing a blue colored cloth gradually becoming white as it proceeds downward and appears to have been made out of silk. Her hair was silver, reaching until her shoulder blades and her eyes was green in color while her skin was pale white. Looking closely, there was a bracelet on Rene''s left wrist with a blue rose attached and the same on her right wrist, except it was red instead. However that wasn''t all as when the focus of the adventurer turns toward what was on Rene''s head. A small white flower, happily dancing on top of her head. "..... cowlick?" puzzled, he keeps on staring at the flower. After stepping out of her hiding spot, which was behind the trees, Rene kept herself silent because she was busy focusing on healing the man''s injury, where it could had proved to be fatal if untreated after a certain period of time. The patient himself understanding the situation, also didn''t talk to allow Rene pour her attention into the healing process. The result however, was not how he expected. It went way beyond his estimations, to be precise. Every single cut and wound from the recent battles, no matter how deep they were simply vanished in seconds as if they weren''t there in the first place. Even more shocking to him, his left arm which was thought to have leave his side permanently, came back as if nothing had happened to it in the first place. Not believing his eyes at first, he bit his arm, pinched, punched it and also tried to sever it once more but decided it was not a good idea since he wouldn''t want to feel the same experience again. There was also another thought that got him concerned. Often, when someone heals another, lingering phantom limb pain effect can be felt if it had involved a lost limb. But in this situation, he didn''t feel even a slight hint of it. "Capable of healing and even restoring the former condition of a body, including the mental state of the target... a grade S healer? At the age of 12?!" he thought, almost not believing it. When he looked back at Rene, she noticed it and replied with a smile while still keeping her silent attitude in check because she wasn''t done on healing him just yet. The man, on the other hand, kept staring at her, ask if trying to ask for answers. Unable to contain his curiosity anymore, he started talking to Rene, "Little girl.... just who are you?" Done with her job, she pointed her finger at herself and said, "Me? My name is Rene, and I''m an adventurer!" Before Rene interfered and helped him, she was warned by the plants as to not reveal her identity as the Princess of Nature because it may attract unnecessary threat to herself. As such, she is under the disguise as an adventurer, at least when she meets a human. "An adventurer? What are you doing in a place like this?" the man questioned. "Rude.. how about you introduce yourself as well first?" she replied, unhappily. "Oh, I''m sorry for forgetting my courtesy. My name is Croiz Lucifer, the leader of the 4th Reconnaisance Troop under the Valtzan Empire." As he claims it, Croiz placed his hand in his bloody pouch painted in red with the wolves blood, and started to rummage through it. Seconds later, he made the face of a someone who found what they were searching for, and pulled his hand out of the pouch attached to his front. Holding it in his hand, was a metal which looks like silver that had the picture of two snake biting a hand engraved on it. Although, Rene simply stared at it with an uninterested face even if Croiz seemed proud to reveal his own identity. At the first glance it seems like a normal metal but when Rene focused on it, some strange mana dwells within it. Curious, she tried to touch it but the moment when her little finger made contact with the metal, Rene felt her body suddenly invaded with foreign mana. When she looked back at Croiz, an evil grin was on his face. "Hehehehe, it was all a lie..... got you." he said while snickering a little. "What did you do- irk!" Rene tried to ask but then he suddenly picked her up and started sprinting away. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Surprised of Croiz sudden act and change in attitude, Rene repeatedly hitted his back with her fist in refusal. She tried to call the branches and vines to grab her, but Croiz ran faster than they can reach her. It was then, a sudden change of the magic flow within her surrounding alerted her. "This... this is... teleportation magic?!" Rene thought. "NOOOO, guys! Help me!" screaming in fear, she desperately tried to seek help before she was teleported away. "Your highness! We can''t reach you, you are moving way too fast for us to grab hold of!" the trees and vines replied through telekinetic communication. As Croiz kept running, the view within Rene''s surroundings started to become blurry and shift into another completely different one. Gradually, the voice of Rene''s companions within the forest became harder to hear, and soon enough, could no longer be heard. Rene felt that the magic flow had stabilized after some time and realized, that the teleportation magic was successfully executed. That also means that she was taken away from her home forcefully, and may no longer see them any longer in her life. For a short moment, tears ran down her cheek as she thought of it. Then, Croiz threw her into a room or more like, a cage. Closing the bar in front of her, he stared at her and grinned. "You are sure to fetch a good price in the auction market," Croiz said while slowly turning the key to lock her. "Never trust a stranger, kid. Not like that will change anything now, HAHAHAHAHAHA!" while laughing, Croiz walked away with the keys. "....." Rene was incapable of talking, caused by the sudden mana invasion into her body. The princess, never before seen the darkness of humanity had witnessed it right then. Not knowing how to respond, she regressed her mental activity in order to protect herself. In a corner of her mind, roams the memory of her playing with her companions out in the open field... . .. ... [The next day] "Wake up, wake up! I''m going to the Auction Hall today!" knocking on the iron bars with his key, he tried to wake up Rene. "Naturally, to auction you off, of course, hehehe," he continued while unlocking the cage. As Croiz stepped inside the cage, Rene attempted to sprint toward the exit as she woke up but was grabbed by him and then forced her to lay down on the ground. In a swift moment, he equipped a device on Rene''s neck that perfectly fits on it. As Croiz was done, he released his grip off her. Confused, Rene just stood back up and tried to run away again, but this time, a sudden electric shock could be felt by her when she tried to. Falling on her knees, she looked back to Croiz only to see yet another evil smile on his face. "Heh, don''t think of doing anything on your own, little lady," he said while grinning. "That device, on your neck strips you of your own will, permanently! It''s a device, suitable for a slave like you," he continued. That device was something looked like an iron collar except it had a red pearl at the front center and engraving of runes around it that Rene herself could not understand. She gave him a look of hatred as Croiz simply shrugged and walked outside of the cage. Then, he turned back and looked at Rene. "Now then, come with me to the auction hall." Rene, refusing to obey his command just sat back down in the cage, but then yet another electric current flowed through that small body of hers. Breaking in tears a little, Rene had no choice but to stand up and follow him or else, she would die. Stepping outside of Croiz''s small house, Croiz stopped a horse carriage and entered it with Rene. He told the coachman that his destination was the Auction Hall, giving him 10 copper coins while in the process. It appears that the place wasn''t so far away from his house, as the coachman estimated they would arrive in 10 minutes. On the way, naturally, there were plants and animals around. All of them were utterly shocked to see their princess outside her forest boundary, even going as far as attempting to save her but was halted with another command by Rene instead. "Find an elf..... Trevtas...and inform him... of my... location...please," in a weak manner, she communicated to the pigeons. "Understood princess! We will bring help, so please, survive until then!" one of them replied. The pigeons understanding her instruction, flew away and scattered toward various directions in the sky. With that, Rene will have a slight hope of being able to get back if words that Rene was abducted would reach Trevtas''s ears. After getting caught yesterday, she was imprisoned in that dark place and without water as well, so she became slightly weak due to being unable to eat. At the very least momentarily, she could absorb sunlight while on the way to the Auction Hall, despite the absence of water that still made it insufficient for her. There was also another problem for her. The mana that invaded her body had limited her capability, or interrupt to be exact when she tried to control the nature in her surroundings. As such, she was incapable breaking free on her own in her current state. Croiz thought that she was an earth type magician and a grade S healer, but in actuality, she was the nature itself. In order to ensure he does not find out about that fact, Rene constantly communicated with the plants in her surrounding so that they would not act regardless of any situations as that would cause Croiz to suspect something was off. "We''re here sir," the coachman notified Croiz. "Good, thank you," he replied. Looking at Rene, he said, "Now, come with me." With a stare full of despise in seconds at first, Rene then followed him exiting the carriage. When she stepped out of the carriage, a big red building was in front of her with handshake symbol on it and just below it was two letters ''A - H'' which meant Auction Hall. "Watch closely, this is the building where slaves get sold and bought, or yourself in this case, hahahaha!" Croiz said, laughing. As Croiz walked to the building''s entrance followed by Rene behind him, he was greeted by a lady wearing a red dress. She appears to be in her 20''s and had two hairbuns on her violet colored hair. Her hair also covered her left face so she only saw things through her right eye. "Welcome, sir! Are you here to purchase, or to auction?" the lady greeted Croiz, then asked. "To auction my merchandise, her," Croiz answered while pointing toward Rene. When she focused her attention on Rene, she seemed dazzled at first because Rene was wearing things that a merchandise, or a slave shouldn''t be able to afford. Abducted, that was what she first thought, and it was true. As she continued to look at the girl, a slight hint of sadness can be seen appearing on her face. "So young.... and pretty at that, too..." the lady thought. Putting her thought aside, she needed to prioritize her job, so she welcomed them, "Very well, please enter and follow the yellow pathway then enter the room at the end of it." "After that, place the details of your merchandise on the designated documents and the starting bidding price. You can leave the merchandise in our care once you have done that, and then proceed to the main hall by exiting the room and taking the red pathway," she continued. After hearing the instructions, Croiz went inside Auction Hall and headed to the room placed in front of the yellow pathway. When he was inside, he instructed Rene to stand beside the sofa that was inside the room. Within the room was a sofa just beside the entrance and a desk located in front of it. On the desk, several papers were placed for the purpose of filling details regarding the merchandise to be auctioned. There was also some lockers of which their purpose were unknown to outsiders. As he filled the document, Croiz muttered, "Hmm... gender, female.... specialty, grade S healer..... species," reaching the species part, he looked at Rene. "Just what the hell are you? Well, not like you can talk, anyway," he said. In the end, he stated her species unknown, and placed the starting price at 50 gold coins which was equivalent to 50000 silver coins or 50000000 copper coins. 1 gold coin in this world were capable of sustaining a normal family''s daily necessities for one whole year without having to worry for anything, so 50 gold coin was already a lot to someone like Croiz. Finished putting the details down, he looked at Rene and an evil grin appeared on his face. Waving to her, he opened the door and went outside to enter the main hall to watch the auctioning process. While Rene was alone inside the room, tears started to run down her cheek once more. In sadness, she thought, "............... Is this my fate?" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Author''s Side : Please don''t kill me for writing this chapter... Yeah chapter 3! Also, I recently asked unice about 3rd person narration when it comes to using past and present tense, and turns out you need to use past tense all the time when it comes to 3rd person narration :0, I''m sorry for my past mistakes and i''ll try to do my utmost best to make up for it! Regardless, thanks for reading this chapter and hope you enjoyed it! Note : Still looking for PR and great thanks to ResonantIce for making me realize my fault and to unice for the advice :). Chapter 4 - Kings Advisor Chapter 4 - King''s Advisor After a few minutes Croiz left, the same lady that greeted Rene and Croiz in front of the main entrance, came in. It didn''t take long until the lady noticed Rene was in the room, as the room itself was not that big. She kept staring at her for a while, before grabbing Rene''s shoulders which caused Rene to shriek in fear for a moment. "Little girl, you don''t have to be afraid of me, I at least just want to help you with something before you get sold off," she said while holding Rene. "My name is Lisa and I''m a grade A healer, and I know three things that are happening to you right now. First, you were abducted. Second, your voice was taken away. Third, your ability was weakened, correct?" Lisa continued. ".......!" realizing Lisa was a trustable person, Rene nodded rapidly and started to cry a little. "Oh no, please, do not cry! Listen closely, I will help you with three things, equivalent to the number of suffering you are currently experiencing," Lisa added while patting Rene''s head to calm her down. "First, I will try to influence a certain person to buy you. At the very least, he won''t be using you for sexual desires. Second, I will return your voice back to you, so that you are free to speak. Third, I will break the magic that binds your ability, is that fine?" "...!...!" Rene nodded twice in agreement. When she received Rene''s permission, Lisa opened up one of the lockers and took a very small sphere as big as a candy and then closed the locker. Handing it over to Rene, she gestured to her that she needed to swallow it. Then, Lisa took a small chair that was nearby the entrance and sat in front of Rene and directed her two palms toward Rene. "...." reluctant at first, Rene stared at the sphere for some time before throwing it in her mouth. "Good girl, now let me just do my job here, ok?" Lisa said. As Lisa was focusing on Rene, Rene herself felt as if the foreign mana that had invaded her body was easily being forced out. It was easier than it should had been thanks to Rene''s unique mana composition of which was inherited from Yggdrasil itself. "This.... this mana structure... what is this... girl?" observing the unknown composition, Lisa can''t help but wonder. Lisa continued to perform some changes within Rene''s body and then, she encountered a peculiar barrier within Rene. It was unusual because it wasn''t in her body, but instead was located within her mind. Thinking that it might be something important, Lisa decided to leave it alone. Rene herself on the other hand, was able to feel that her ability was slowly returning to her. If it wasn''t for the device on her neck, Rene would have ran away already. Soon enough, another worker came in the room. "Hey, Lisa what are you doing? It''s time for the girl to go," grabbing Rene''s hand; he started walking toward another door opposite of the entrance. While being carried away, Rene looked back at Lisa and moved her lips, "Thank you," she said in silence. In reply, Lisa waved her hands toward Rene and then exited the room to head toward the main hall, in order to finish her last promise. On the other hand, Rene herself was being brought to the center of the stage in front of the main hall, frozen under fear due to being under the gaze of strangers. Small chatters can be heard everywhere as she entered the hall. After a few seconds, the auctioneer wearing a blue robe and a blue scholar hat stood on the podium located at the left of the stage. Then, he picked up a small hammer and began knocking a slab of wood on the podium. *PAM* *PAM* "Next up, a little girl of unknown species! She may seem normal, but in reality, she has the capability of a grade S healer! You can bring her with you on your adventures and guarantee yourself on your safety! Other than that, you may even use her for her body!" he shouted. The hall suddenly became noisy and filled with even more voices when they heard the word ''grade S healer''. It was known that only a few excellent healers were capable of breaking through to the rank of S but this time, it was a little girl instead. Naturally, some did not believed it but most didn''t care enough for the authenticity and already began planning to bid on her. When the word ''you can even use her for her body'' reached Rene, she began recalling Lisa''s promise with her to refrain herself from breaking in tear due to the fear. Rolling her eyes, Rene tried to look for Lisa within the hall and soon enough located her standing behind a man with a hood covering his face. Lisa noticed her sight so she waved, and then began whispering something to the man. He only nodded as she kept talking. *PAM* *PAM* "The bidding price starts at 50 gold coin!" the auctioneer suddenly shouted. Followed by his auction cry, various people started shouting their price. "60 GOLD!" "70!" "75!" "100!" The scene filled with peoples attempting to stomp at other''s price continued on and on and on, all the while not even a single voice came from the man Lisa whispered to. To be exact, he''s just watching. Beginning to worry, Rene started trembling a little on the stage. Suddenly, a loud voice could be heard from the man, "1000 GOLD COINS!" Right on time, the man stood up and announced his bid. Other bidders shocked by the sheer amount of golds, could only afford to stare at him all the while wondering where all those gold came from. Rene herself on the other hand, released a sigh of relief as the man finally acted. After a few seconds, the hall was silent as no one was able to beat his bid. The auctioneer looking at that situation, shouted, "1000 ONCE! 1000 TWICE! 1000 THRICE! SOLD!" *PAM* *PAM* . .. ... After the auction was finished, Rene was brought to the same room she was with Lisa before. Under the order of the man that had won the auction over Rene, the iron collar that was on her neck was removed by the worker. Rene, grateful of Lisa''s assistance hugged her before she was taken away with the man. However, her worry didn''t end there as she still had the question of what she was supposed to do right then. Hopping on the carriage with the man that bought her, she waved at Lisa before a servant closed the door. Then, she sat herself and looked at him as the carriage started moving. For some reason, the coachman simply began moving without even asking where to head first. Awkward of the silence, she began talking, "Um.... thank you for saving me from those peoples.." "Hahaha.... that was nothing, first of all, may I know your name?" he answered. "My name is Rene," she replied. "I see, Rene..." After introducing herself, the man became quiet again but this time, it was as if he was thinking about something seriously. It stayed that way for a couple of minutes before he started talking again. "Rene, can you please listen to me for a bit?" he said. "Yes, of course!" "Very well..." As he continued, he began unveiling the hood that covered his face most of the time. Behind it was the face of a young man probably around 21. He wore glasses and had purple earrings that were hanging from his earlobes. Rene herself, simply stared at him while he continued to ignore it. "My name is Thione Cronus, king''s advisor for the Tarvan Kingdom." "Oooooo.... so what did you need me for, Thione?" putting the advisor''s title aside, she questioned him. As soon as she asked him, Thione reached his left hand into his robe, which was made to disguise him. It was then, that he pulled out a document tied with a small rope that secured it and tried to hand it over to Rene. Suddenly, dark roots pierced through the floor of the carriage and its ceiling. Thanks to the sudden intrusion from the ground, the carriage was made to stop abruptly. "Enemy attack?!" Thione shouted, trying to ask the coachman. "N-no sir! There is no sight of any earth magicians nearby!" "Then..?!" trying to stand up, he was suddenly stopped with multiple branches that was sharp enough to penetrate through his skins. "Please, sit down Thione." Rene said, with closed eyes. "R-Rene?! What''s the meaning of this?!" he replied. Slowly, Rene opened up her eyes, thus revealing her two crimson red eyes that was previously bright green. It''s faint, but Thione could feel a slight hint of killing intent coming from her. Looking to her left, she was raising her hand as if manipulating the branches that surrounded Thione. "What is your purpose? Why did you brought that document out?" pointing toward the paper within Thione''s hand, she asked him. "This is a normal document! Look, it''s just a list of employees within the castle!" hastily, Thione severed the ropes, unraveling the contents within, which was harmless. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. Rene then took a look at the document, detecting no ill will hidden within it. Soon enough realizing her actions were out of place, she began calming herself down. "Ah....i-is that so? I''m sorry..... I overreacted..." gradually, her eyes'' color turned into green again. As Rene regained her composure, the dark roots that was within the carriage vanished away just like that, as it was created by Rene''s magic instead of being forcibly brought out of the ground instead. Thione himself, witnessing that situation could simply do nothing but watch as things return to normal. The reason for Rene''s sudden hostility was due to her trauma thanks to her encounter with Croiz. Thanks to that matter, she became more wary of unknown materials approaching her physically. She also became cautious of humans subconsciously, however not to the point she would kill them in an instant. For a moment, Thione walked out of the carriage to mention that everything was under control as crowds had gathered within the carriage''s surroundings. Soon enough, the carriage began moving again as Thione returned inside and sat beside Rene. Patting on Rene''s head, he said, "It''s fine, meeting with the one who had sold you must have been a bad experience." "Please, do not mention that..." while speaking, her eyes slightly became faint red before turning back green. "Well, I guess we can postpone the discussion for now," grabbing hold of another small rope to tie the document, he was instead stopped when Rene grabbed his hands. "No, please continue," she said. "If you say so, very well." Opening up his documents, he began explaining how the kingdom''s castle had many layers of employees that worked in different sections. There was the agriculture section, the education section, the security section and many more, however in this conversation, Thione focused on the medical section. Naturally, Rene''s gifted mind allowed her to easily understand his explanations. Due to the constant war the kingdom experienced in order to defend the country against various attacks, many soldiers had been severely injured as a result of it. Thanks to that, the country''s defense was weakening with the number of troops diminishing. Worried of the situation, King Varus had sought for advice from Thione. Based on his calculation about the current state, he concluded that it would be the best move to gather highly skilled healers in order to assist with the contemporary disaster. Nevertheless, it didn''t take long enough until yet another problem presented itself. Most of Tarvan healers are compromised of grade C and D healers who can heal injuries at a considerably slow rate. For grade A healers that can heal heavier injuries in a shorter time and dispel certain effects, there was only a few of them. And the highest rank of them all, the grade S, counting up to practically none. As such, someone with Rene''s healing capabilities was truly sought for. "Well, even if your healing ability were nothing but a lie, your combative capability would prove to be useful, as well," he muttered while looking at the documents. Staring at him in the eye, Rene stated, "I can heal, but I''d like to avoid combat, if possible." "Putting that aside, can you explain what''s that flower doing on top of your head?" Thione replied while pointing his finger at the flower. "Hehehe... it''s just an accessory given by a friend..." Looking closely, the flower seemed to be a little weak since Rene had only absorbed sunlight during her time of travel here and had yet to absorb water. Thione on the other hand, just stared at the flower as it lied down on Rene''s head, as if dead. "It looks.... weak," he thought. Then suddenly, he came up with another idea to observe the flower''s reactions. This time yet again, he looked for something within his robe and in a matter of seconds, pulled out a canteen filled with water. It didn''t take long until Rene noticed it and had her eyes glued to it ever since the moment it came into her view. Noticing her reactions, he asked, "Want some water?" "Yes! Yes!" Rene nodded rapidly in reply. "Okay then, here," Thione handed over his canteen. In a moment''s whim, it was instantly snatched away by Rene as she hastily opened up the cap and began drinking it. Naturally, she could also had simply absorbed it through any part of her body but decided not to in order to keep Thione''s suspicions away from her. Rene didn''t realize at that moment, that he was actually observing her flower which was dancing happily once more. "Oh.. it looks happy for some reason now. Now that if I think about it, this girl hasn''t mentioned of getting hungry and just hunted for my water...... just who is this girl?" Thione wondered while looking at the oblivious Rene. It was then that the carriage suddenly stopped as Thione was thinking. Looking outside, they were already in a completely different place from the Auction Hall as it did took some time for the carriage to reach here. Stepping outside the carriage, Thione took her hands and helped her exit it. "Where are we?" Rene asked as she looked around. "Within the castle''s ground." Thione replied. In front of her was a very majestic building painted in various color which was so big, that Rene wouldn''t see the end of the building if she was to run for a few hours. Covering the area around it was plants of various kinds which made Rene smile as she looked at them. Additionally, there was also a fountain located behind her as she had stepped outside of the carriage. Within it was a big pool that contained many type of fish as they kept swimming around in the water. Noticing the presence of Rene, they waved at her using their fins while no one was looking at them. Then all of a sudden, Thione dragged her along with him to enter the building forcefully. As they entered the building which was actually a castle, the scene of maids and butlers running everywhere were laid out in front of Rene and Thione. Ignoring the waves of servants, Thione continued to drag Rene until they reached the Medical Sector of the castle which was calmer than the last one. They kept on walking, on and on until they reached a door located at the end of the hall. Upon entering the room behind the door, Rene could see various kinds of books and documents stacked up on the two wooden shelves that placed opposite of each other on the left and right side of the room. Taking a few more steps forward and bypassing a big desk placed in the center of the room, two more doors could be seen at each side. Curious, Rene took a peek on the left side and saw a big bathtub and toilet, all in one while on the right side was the bedroom. Sitting on the chair behind the desk, Thione gestured Rene to sit on the sofa that was the on the opposite of the desk. While making herself comfy, she kept looking around the interior of the room as curiosity got the best of her. It didn''t take long until Rene turned her attention to Thione as he began speaking, "It''s a little late considering the time we entered it, but welcome to the Medical Sector of the Tarvan Castle. I look forward to your excellent service under us at the very least, until the debt that you owe us from the auction are paid off," he said. "Naturally, these three rooms will be your private room for you to stay in during the time you will be here, I hope you find it to your liking," he continued. Looking around the interior of the room, she then turned her attention to Thione and asked, "Umm, this room is a little bit too big for me. Who had lived in here before?" While snickering a little, Thione replied, "Well, it was supposed to be the room for the Medical Sector''s director, but she had refused this room and it has been unoccupied since then." "Could that director''s name be Lisa?" "Hahaha, yes you got it right! She worked in disguise at the Auction Hall in order to look for someone like you. If she is not working, she would often hang out around here, helping the other newbies healers." "I see.... well, I''ll try my best to assist with the rest of the healers. Hopefully, I''ll learn some fun things here!" Rene exclaimed. Running to the shelves, she began looking for books that she wanted to read and placed them on the desk one by one. Thione simply smiled as he observed her actions before deciding to leave her alone in the room. With that, marks the beginning of Rene''s service under the Tarvan Kingdom of her own will in order to pay back the debt she owned from Thione for saving her. Although, Rene did not know, that Trevtas had already begun making his move in order to search for her.
Author''s Side : Sorry for the late chapter, started becoming busy with life all of a sudden. Anyway, thanks for reading :) ... and seriously hope all of you enjoyed the chapter unlike last time, ._. . Chapter 5 - Renes Capabilities Chapter 5 - Rene''s Capabilities Far away from the kingdom of Tarvan, lies the continent of Lizendra. It was a place that was widely known by every humans as a habitat to various species of animals and even elven kingdoms. What they truly did not know however, was that it was also the area where Rene, the princess of nature had lived in. Humans had the knowledge that the Yggdrasil was also within Lisen, although its true location is undiscovered until now. In order to respect the holy tree, they had never built even a single kingdom on the Lizendra continent. Thanks to that, Lizendra was a continent that was purely filled with forests, mountains, lakes and such. However, adventurers that went out to venture into the forest within Lisen had begun reporting of unusual occurence within the continent for the past few decades, or one to be exact. Most of them said the forest actually looked..... lively as if someone had been playing with them for quite sometime. And there was also more. Six years ago, a lumberjack had managed to escape from the forest, almost dead. Some people had attempted to ask him on what had happened, but he was so traumatized that he pretty much forgot everything about the elves except for the reason why such thing happened in the first place. Hastily, he started the rumor that humans must absolutely avoid crossing over a certain part of the forest, and to not inflict any kind of damage upon the living things within Lizendra. It didn''t took long for the rumor to spread as fast as wildfire with the man himself being the living proof of his rumor. Ever since the incident with the lumberjack, elves could be often seen patrolling a certain part of Lizendra, circling around it as if protecting something precious within. Regardless of the danger, some adventurers had actually attempted to slip past by but was halted in the process when the animals and plants began forming a blockade to prevent them from advancing any further. Confused, the adventurers decided to leave them alone and abandon the trespassing idea after recalling the absolute rule of not harming any living things within the continent. Things had been the way they were for quite a while, until now. For the past two days, messengers had brought information from the adventurers, this time stating a problem that no one had expected to occur. It was mentioned that the usually passive elves suddenly became aggressive and started to prevent humans from entering the Lizendra continent itself. They reported that no red lines were seen on their bodies, so the thought of them being corrupted was not a possibility. In addition, even animals joined forces with the elves to prevent the adventurers from setting their foot onto Lizendra''s ground. To actually achieve this, they secured the ports that connected Lizendra to the outer world and forced them to return back to their home. Tarvan had sent a few envoys to talk with the elves'' King, but was turned down the moment they reached Lizendra. The same situation occured to other countries when they also tried to do the same thing. The only reply that the humans got was, "You humans stole something precious to us! Find the culprit and bring him to us! Then, find the treasure and bring it back to us! In 5 days should you fail to achieve this, I shall present myself on your land as we seek for our treasure. Naturally, anyone who stands in our way shall be crushed to death by force!" In the message, he did not mention the details of the treasure so the human side had trouble trying to locate it. Some suggested that it may had something to do with nature so now their search were based on purely that alone. However, Rene did not had the knowledge regarding the search as it was performed in secret to ensure that they do not alert the thief culprit. Momentarily, Trevtas could be seen standing just beside the spot where Yggdrasil used to grow on. Rene would often sleep on the very exact spot by creating a hammock out of vines and rest herself on it. "It has been two days since the disappearance of the princess...." he thought. Ever since she was gone, the surrounding area of the forest had been gloomy with the absence of their cheerful princess. If she had left through normal circumstances, it would not had turned out to be like this, as opposed to how she was abducted instead. After standing up for quite some time, Trevtas decided to sit down on the ground while still thinking of ways to save the princess from the greedy humans. Then, an elf came in front of him and knelt. Looking closely, she wore an armor that looked like slightly different from the rest of the monitor, symbolizing that her rank was quite higher than the rest of the elves. "May I ask something, your majesty?" she asked. "You may continue." Trevtas replied. "Your majesty, why don''t we immediately march into the humans'' territory right now to locate the princess? Would it not be much faster that way?" she rises her head to look at Trevtas as she spoke. "It''s not that simple, Shivane. If we were to do that now, it will cause the humans to be surprised of our sudden movements which can cause war to erupt," he answered. "It would be best to first lie in wait while notifying our arrival to the humans before we emerge in big number where the reason to ''seek for our treasure'' will justify our actions," Trevtas continued. "I see, very well. I shall take my leave and have the elves prepare themselves for the upcoming journey, your majesty." Expressing her plans, Shivane then stood up and walked away from Trevtas. On the other hand, he continued to think of various things as Shivane disappeared from the view. A few of them was regarding the matter where the plants had not been responding to any of his question about the princess''s location. After Rene''s disappearance, the plants within Lizendra had stopped to respond nor move from for unknown reason. As such, Trevtas was unable to find out about her exact location through the plants. The pigeons which had brought the message that Rene was abducted, did not know of the exact location of the kingdom she was in, nor do they remember the name. The only thing they could recall were the fact that she was located in one of the humans'' continent which was Harleus. Even though not much, that information was helpful enough to allow the elves to narrow down the list of countries they would had to go through in order to search for Rene, which included Tarvan. Despite that small information, the true location of the princess was still shrouded in mystery for Trevtas as there were many countries they had to check to find her. Since the situation this time was different, Trevtas could not afford to act recklessly as it would involve the humans'' countries. He had also thought of attacking the humans in order to search for Rene, but decided to dispose that plan as Rene herself wouldn''t allow it and the casualties on the elves'' side would be unnecessarily big to cope up with. Not to mention, the reason why it happened in the first place was because Trevtas was absence when she were abducted. He was actually attending a meeting regarding how they were supposed to continue on protecting the princess in a better way, although now it was postponed due to the current incident. "I hope you''re in safe hands, your highness....," Trevtas released a sigh as he looked up on the sky. . .. ... In the room which was Rene''s office and also her living quarter that she had begun to lived in, she was sitting on the chair while reading some books related to this world. She knew that she lacked the knowledge of the outside world as she had spent years being inside her forest boundary, where the continent''s name was Lizendra. "Humm..humm humm..... let see.... list of the world''s seven continents... Harleus, Leva, Valvre, Urvan, Sratotus, Kasha and...... Lizendra! Yeah I remember them all now!" she exclaimed while jumping in joy. She didn''t know, that the last continent she had spoke of was actually her home. Soon enough, she sat back on her chair and placed the book titled ''Seven Continents of The World'' aside. While rummaging through the piles of book on her big desk, suddenly a scroll with the title ''List Of Kingdoms in The World'' caught her eyes. Grabbing hold of it, she opened it up and said, "Yeah! It''s the list of kingdo-.... WHOOAAAA TOO MANY! MY EYES! MY EYES!" Within the scroll was list of every kingdoms that had been officially registered as one including small kingdoms. As such, the sheer number of them being cramped up inside a small piece of paper was considerably nauseating to read, especially when each of the letters were as small as ants. In the end, it didn''t take long for Rene to decide on skipping the scroll. The next day after her arrival in the castle, some people wanted to visit her out of curiosity but was turned down. Rene said that she wanted to spend the whole day in her room reading the books. Truly, she did end up staying in her room without even getting out to eat, and a day passed by since then, totalling up to two days of her stay in the castle. Yawning, she thought, "I''m hungry.... guess I''ll go out and absorb some sunlight!" Closing every book that was on the desk, she slowly carried each of them back to the shelves, assisted by the plants for heavier books and elevating her for the shelves that she couldn''t reach thanks to her height. It also didn''t take long until her room was filled with plants in vases again due to her obsession, as usual. "Thanks for the help guys!" she whispered to the plants. "Not at all, it''s an honor to serve our princess with her daily activities," the plants replied. As she commanded the plants to return to their normal form, Rene watered them first before actually heading out of the room. Then, right before placing the mug down on the sink, she pointed her little finger towards the mug. Slowly, roots came out from her finger and extended into the mug, absorbing the remaining water left within it. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. She could had just drank it through normal means, but if she absorbed water through roots, she would be able to sustain herself a little bit longer as the leftover waters can be kept inside her. In this case, if Rene had drank it using her mouth, she would dispose of the remaining water soon enough, as such, using the roots was a better method for her. As Rene was placing down the mug, the front door could suddenly be heard opened. "Rene! Are you in here?" Thione barged in while shouting. A little startled, she almost dropped the mug on the floor but managed to catch it, then she replied, "Thione, you scared me! Please, knock first before entering next time!" "Oh, I''m sorry. I was in a rush so I forgot my manners." "It''s fine, but anyway, what did you need me for?" in a second, she retracted her roots as she realized it was still visible. Stepping outside the bathroom, Rene saw Thione leaning against the door while looking around in the renovated room, where plants now dominated most of the entire space within her office which had also looked like library with stacks of books placed everywhere. He was wearing different as to what he had worn yesterday. Now, instead of the old, brown robe that he used yesterday to hide himself in the surrounding, he was wearing a black coat with a white shirt underneath it. His pants was also black, while his shoes was brown. The same glasses that he wore yesterday and the earrings were there as well which had fitted his image perfectly with his blue hair. Turning back his attention to Rene, Thione said, "Anyway, I need you to assist the healers in 1st Red Ward. Follow me." As he exited the room, he looked back and gestured Rene to follow him. Rene herself felt a little bit irritated, as she did not had time to absorb at least some sunlight. The sun exposure within the castle was considerably low despite the presence of windows, so it wasn''t enough to satisfy her hunger. Regardless, she decided to put her hunger aside for a while to help the healers. After walking for a while, they finally reached a door that had the label ''1st Red Ward'' which was near the entrance to the Medical Sector. In total, there was actually 30 Wards lined up across the hall of that sector, each door facing against each other with 15 wards on the left and 15 wards on the right. Each 10 Wards had different levels of treatments and even the skills of the healers that handled them. The first 10 Wards'' doors were colored in green, symbolizing themselves as ''Green Ward''. Green Ward tasks were simple, which was to heal lightly injured peoples or even the one that caught a sickness and ensure their complete recovery. Often, grade D healers handled this ward. Next was the ''Yellow Ward''. Their jobs were slightly more complicated than the ''Green Ward'' as the healers within this section had to handle peoples that was heavily injured, unconscious, inflicted with unknown conditions and many more. Once their health were confirmed to gradually become better, they would soon enough be sent to the ''Green Ward'' to make sure they were completely healed. Within this ward, only grade B healers are allowed to be assigned here. And the very last one, the ''Red Ward''. Within this ward, only experienced and skilled healers were allowed to be working inside it. Peoples that were sent to this ward were ones that had a life threatening injuries or conditions, that could prove to be fatal if they were to be left alone for some time. Most of the time, it could include one who had a sword pierced through their chest, or losing all four limbs. Every healer of grade A were held responsible to take care of the patients within the ''Red Ward'', and exceptional grade B healers would also be called, should the situation required them. Naturally, Rene had already known about the 30 Wards as she went through numerous books and documents during the time she spent being inside her room the whole day yesterday. Attempting to test out her abilities, Thione instantly brought her to the highest rank of the Wards. As they opened up the door and went inside, nothing but only vast space of darkness could be seen reaching every corner of the eyes. A little afraid of the unknown situation, Rene subconsciously came close to Thione and hid behind him. Thione couldn''t do anything but chuckle as he saw the childish act from Rene. Looking back forward, he started speaking, "Thione Cronus, King''s Advisor." Suddenly, the darkness that roamed the space in front of Rene and Thione gradually vanished as it revealed the gruesome scene that had been hidden from the view. Many soldiers, in various life-threatening conditions were laid down on beds, extending until the end of the room which could fit at the least 20 peoples if lined up horizontally against the entrance. Some of them had lost their limbs, while others had considerably big holes within their body. Unaccustomed to the scene, Rene flinched back in fear as the suffering of the soldiers was laid out in front of her. Slowly, her eyes began turning into red once more. "This...is this.... the work of the humans yet again?" the ground suddenly trembled mildly as she spoke. Realizing the changes of the color within Rene''s eyes, Thione hastily replied, "Rene, no! This is due to the recent battles against a humongous monster that attacked our defensive walls." Then, one of the healers who wore a white robe came while looking at Rene in curiosity. Turning back his attention Thione, he pointed his finger toward Rene. "Thione, who is this kid? You know we can''t afford to play around with the situation as is right now," a little annoyed, he complained. "Actually, she is a healer just like all of you, but looking at her reactions, I guess she is not ready for the ''Red Ward''. Now then, Rene, let''s go back," turning his back to the other healer, he started walking to the entrance when suddenly, a soft tug could be felt from behind. "No, these peoples, their sufferings, I must end it," as she claimed that, she sprinted toward the center of the room. "Hey kid! What are you doi-," before he finished his sentence, Rene glared at him intensely, causing him to slightly tremble in fear and unable to speak. The other healers, unable to cope up with the sudden change in the situation could simply do nothing but watch as Rene closed her palms and began focusing her energy to gather within her hands. "Please listen to my plea, and accelerate the recovery of these unfortunate humans. Release them of their sufferings and let them return to the former state of their bodies and crush the memories of the experienced pain from their memories...." she muttered as she imbued the mana within her palms with her own will. Opening up her palms, a small mana orb could be seen floating in front of her while emitting a gentle blue light. Instantly, the orb broke into 20 parts and began flying toward every soldiers that was within the room. As they stopped on top them, the blue orbs proceeded to enter their bodies, and then, sudden shocking changes could be seen surfacing in seconds. The one who had lost their limbs, suddenly reappeared in an instant as if manifested by magic. No signs of the previous injury could be seen anywhere, including the soldiers who had holes in their body which covered up in a mere seconds as soon as the blue mana touched them. "My....my arm! It''s back!" one of the soldier stated ecstatically. "Little girl.... I''m grateful...." said another soldier. "Thank you, really!" "How can I ever repay your kindness....?" every of them, noticing that they were suddenly completely healed, began crowding Rene and expressing their utmost gratitude to her. Before, they were lying down half dead, almost giving up any effort of living with the injuries. But now, every single of them was making noises as if nothing had happened and the rest performing activities that was related to their lost limbs. The grade A healers would usually take a few weeks in order to heal up a single patient within the ''Red Ward'', but Rene herself accomplished it in mere seconds and to every single of them to boot. As such, witnessing the miracle that happened in front of them had their jaws dropped on the ground, including Thione. Additionally, the capability of restoring lost limbs were known to be very hard to achieve to the grade A healers and could even cause the death of the patient if poorly executed. As far as the world had progressed, only grade S healers were known to be able to perfectly perform it without problems while grade A healers wouldn''t be able to exterminate the lingering phantom pain effect. And yet here they are, witnessing the child in front of them utilizing it as simple as breathing. Gradually, Rene''s eyes noticeably became green again as she had accomplished her job and was satisfied with the result. "J-just who is that girl?" one of the healer pointed at Rene as he spoke while looking at Thione. Stepping into the center of the room and pushing away the crowds, Thione said, "The little girl that is standing in front of you right now, is a grade S healer." "G-grade S healer?!" every healers within the room suddenly exclaimed in shock. As the dramatic scene unfolded in front of Rene, she had already begun wandering into her own world, ignoring the events around her. During this time, her only thought was, "Hungry....."
Author''s Note: And there! Finally done with chapter 4! Thanks for reading and hope you guys enjoyed it :D. P.S. : Still on the look for PR Short Side Story - The Changes Rene Faces Short Side Story - The Changes Rene Faces A certain day, way before Rene''s abduction, things was going nicely. Rene had spent her life twelve years within her forest in the Lizendra continent, of which Rene herself did not know of. However, it was not quite the normal day for Rene''s body. "Nnnn.... my tummy hurts..." pressing both of her arms onto her stomach, she groaned in pain. Trevtas, who was passing by her private chamber which was built out of vines enclosing the space within, saw her unusual act. A little bit worried, he entered her chamber. "Is everything all right, your highness?" he said while looking at Rene. "There''s nothing, leave me alone!" moving her hands, the land in front of her rose and formed a wall between her and Trevtas. "I-I''m truly sorry for my act, your highness!" after recovering his momentum, he knelt while speaking in a regretful tone. Instantaneously, the walls in front of Trevtas perished as they returned to the ground as it revealed Rene who was sitting on her ''throne'' made out of branches and leaves. Reaching out her hand to Trevtas, she said, "No, I should apologize instead. But for now, please, leave me alone." Trevtas took her hand and stood up, then replied, "Very well, I shall leave you alone for now, but please do remember to call for us if you need anything, your highness." Exiting the chamber, Trevtas glanced back at Rene and a thought came to him. "Something''s different about her today. Wonder what happened?" On the other hand, Rene herself within the now closed chamber thanks to the newly formed vines at the entrance, only sat as she twiddled with her fingers. Irritated, she wonder what was happening to her as she felt angry various times for no reason today. Having no reason to comply with for her sudden change in behavior, she stood up. While turning back, a certain red color could be seen on the leaves covering her chair. It was then; she knew the exact reason of why she acted differently today. "No.... it can''t be..... I''m having my first period?!" For a while, Rene passed out after realizing it, despite of possessing her calm demeanor which was useless against it. It didn''t take long until she came back to her senses and began thinking seriously. "So..... since I''m a girl, I could experience period now? Urgh, I should have realized this sooner..." Naturally, since Rene had an intelligent mind, she knew about these things but because she was formerly a boy, she had never thought of putting some effort into learning it. Recalling everything there was regarding periods, she suddenly blushed for a certain reason. "W-w-wait... does this mean.... I can be pregnant? NOOOO, I DON''T WANT THAT!" Bursting out a protective aura, the surrounding area shook as Rene''s magical force slammed upon them. The elves that were nearby fell on their knees as the aura ran through them, causing a momentary paralyzing effect. Soon enough, the effect weakened as Rene gradually calmed down. Definitely, it was a shocking truth for her as never once had the thought of being able to be pregnant crossed her pure mind. In any case, it was a hard fact for her to swallow, not because she was afraid to accept it, but because she was afraid of the thought itself as it was unknown to her. But then, she had to put all those thing aside and focus on the present. In other word, Rene needed to figure out how to prevent her blood from leaking out randomly, causing stains everywhere. For some time, she had trouble as she couldn''t find the solution of what to be done. In the end, she decided to call Shivane, the elves'' army commander who was also a female. Rene had considered to call Trevtas but in the end did not since it would had been awkward to explain her situation to him since he was a male. "Guys, can you call for Shivane?" Rene said to the plants in her chamber. "Which one is that, princess?" one of them answered. "Unn... you know, the one with a bulky armor and some crest on it?" "That one is it? Very well." A few minutes later, a soft knock could be heard coming from the outside of the chamber''s entrance. Simultaneously, Rene also felt the knock as she was directly linked with the nature itself. Swiftly, she commanded the vines to retract, thus opening the entrance. After Shivane entered Rene''s chamber, the vine closed up the entrance once more. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Kneeling down in front of Rene, she said, "I was informed that you needed me for something, your highness." "Stand up, Shivane, how many times do I need to tell every of you on this? Unnn.... in any case... I need your help with something..." fidgeting a little, she replied. "I will do my utmost best to help you, your highness. So, what may this ''help'' you require, be?" she stated as she stood up. "If that''s so... then..... can you tell me.... how you handle this kind of stuff?" Rene stood up as she said it, and then pointed to a certain spot on her chair. Confused, Shivane stepped closer to take a look. "PFT." "Huh, did she just snicker?" Rene thought. Looking closely, Shivane was trying to hold back her laughter. A little irritated, Rene pouted. "Meanie! You laughed!" Rene began instructing the branches to drag her away from the chamber. "Pfft.. hahahaha.. no..no, your highness, I''m sorry... it''s just, I did not expect for even you to experience this. I''m truly sorry for my rudeness," Shivane resisted the branches mildly. "Hmph!" she turned to look away from Shivane. "Hehe.. I''ll tell you, how to handle this, your highness." Suddenly, the branches that tried to drag her away stopped and then returned to their former state. Shivane who was on the ground, stood up again as she patted her back to get rid of the dirt that got stuck on her. Looking back at Rene, she was still facing the opposite direction of Shivane, pouting. "I believe, this will be what you need, your highness," Shivane took Rene''s hand and handed over something that looked like a leaf but made from cotton instead. "This is...?" curious, she looked back at her and asked. "I''m not too sure what it''s called in the human world, but within the Elven countries, we call it ''Pania''. I suggest your Highness learn how to make it as its main components are cottons, which your Highness could produce in seconds." "This.... ''Pania''... will help me with this?" Rene pointed at the red stain on the leaves. "Yes your Highness. And if you may excuse me, I need to leave in order to join the next patrolling team, may I, your Highness?" Shivane replied and then asked. "Thank you Shivane, and yeah, sure," Rene replied while smiling to her. Exiting the chamber, Rene was once again by herself as Shivane headed out to join the patrolling team. She wanted some time in private, so she had decided to close the entrance to her chamber once more, signaling that she did not wish to be bothered. After Shivane left, Rene couldn''t help it but to stare at the ''Pania'' that she gave to her in curiosity. She pressed it, rubbed it, touched it and everything she could before actually thinking on how she was going to use it. Nonetheless, it took her less than a few minutes to actually figure out how she was presumed to wear it in the correct way. "It feels... a little... too tight?" The ''Pania'' was magically enchanted so that it would tighten up once it was placed on the spot. Even so, it was still regarded as uncomfortable to Rene as it was not made specifically for her. "Next time, I''m going to make one, just for myself!" Rene thought. On that day, yet another eccentric goal had been placed in her mind despite of holding the title the Princess of The Nature. Unbeknownst to her, the life as she know it, would soon cease to exist.
Author''s Side : A short side story, I thought I''d make to present to all of you as a little change of pace! In spite of that, I am also sorry that this side story was so short which was because I became even more occupied with things in life. Hopefully in the chapter and so on in the future, I can make even longer chapters for the readers to enjoy. Until then, please bear with me :). In any case, thank you for reading and hopefully you enjoyed! Chapter 6 - Dragons Attack Chapter 6 - Dragon''s Attack "Grade S healer?!" everyone within the room exclaimed in surprise. It was then that the healer who questioned Rene''s presence in the Ward stepped forward and bowed to her. Followed by that, the rest of the healers within the room also came to Rene and did the same thing. Rene, who didn''t know how to respond to the situation looked at Thione behind her back and he simply smiled. "I apologize for my previous disrespect! I did not know that you were such of a skilled healer!" said the healer with the white robe. "We pay our respect to the great healer!" the rest of the healers added. "N-no, stop that, it''s fine! Anyway, my name is Rene and I have recently been employed to work here, so I''ll be under your care," she replied while bowing down to the healer in white robe. "Also, I''m slightly in a hurry here, so can I leave already?" continuing, she asked while looking at Thione. "Well, at first, I just wanted to let you work here for a couple of hours to fill daily quotas, but instead of that, you went on and healed every patient there was in this ward, so.... yeah you may." "Yes, thank you!" Slowly, she began walking toward the door while leaving Thione and the rest of the healers, still in confusion from what she did nonchalantly. Rene herself, sought for a courtyard within the castle to absorb sunlight, and soon enough discovered it, located not far from the Medical sector. Since it was a castle''s courtyard, the area was as big as it could be to Rene. It didn''t take long until a bench grabbed her eyes and attention, just within the courtyard''s center. Instantaneously, she ran to the bench and sat on it. "Ahh.. finally," Rene muttered. Her flower expanded, starting to absorb the ray of sun that landed on its buds. Bit by bit, Rene''s hunger started to dissipate as time passed by. Turning her attention to the surrounding area, no sign of life but a few cats caught her gaze, just either rolling around on the ground or relaxing on the tree branches. While relaxing, she immediately recalled something. "Thione... did not mention that the monster who had attacked was corrupted, so... why?" she thought. "Maybe... I should just talk to the monster and see the reason why..." unconsciously, Rene muttered her thoughts. After confirming her decision, Rene stood up and walked away from the courtyard as she was full. Rene didn''t know however, Thione was actually nearby and had listened to her muttering. Silently, he stared at Rene as she left the courtyard. The guards at the gate who had recognized Rene, allowed to her to exit the castle as she passed by. Stepping outside, a vast city landscape was laid out in front of her, filled with people busy with their daily activities, be it selling items or something as simple as having a conversation. Not wasting even a second, a carriage from within the castle came out and stopped beside Rene. The coachman looked at Rene and waved. "Hello little lady! Do you need to go somewhere?" he said while smiling. "Ah... yes, can you take me to the.... what do they call it, Tarvan defensive walls?" Rene replied. "I see, doing your job as a healer eh? Well, hop on, I''ll take you there." the coachman gestured to Rene to enter the carriage. "Oh, thank you!" Carefully, she went inside the carriage and it began moving toward the destination. Despite the kind demeanor that the coachman shown to her, Rene can''t help but manifesting a small metal dagger within her small hands as a safety measure. Ever since her eyes started became red for the first time, her natural offensive capability had increased, and so did her control of her own power. Rene became able to produce materials such as metal, gold and many others while also shape shifting them to anything she wanted to make. She could had relied on the nature itself in order to protect her, but was considered overkill and may expose her identity as the princess of nature. As such, she decided to make use of her new ability and made herself a weapon. Naturally, coming from the princess itself, any type of materials she produced were of the highest grade of them all. All of a sudden, the coachman began speaking. "So, how was it, your first day to work as a healer?" "Unn... it was unexpectedly, easy?" Rene replied while hesitating a little. "Hahaha, as expected of our only grade S healer!" he said while laughing. "Wha...? How did you know?" "How did I know? Simple! I was one of the man you had healed in the red ward." "Eh? Aren''t only soldiers are supposed to be in the wards?" Based on Rene''s knowledge, she only knew that the Medical Sector was designated as a method of ensuring that Tarvan''s defensive capability do not plummet. The main reason was because the lack of soldiers, mainly most being heavily injured. The coachman proceeded to explain that the Medical Sector actually was not only made purely for that reason, but also for the people of Tarvan. The only difference was that they would had to pay for the fees, where the soldiers does not. "I see, well, it was a moment''s whim decision, so no need mentioning it," Rene said while being humble with her ability. "Hahaha, it is fine, those so-called grade A healers can''t even begin to compare with you! In any case, as a way to express my gratitude, feel free to call for me whenever you need a ride. I''ll give you one, free of charge so long as I live." "My name is Raviol and I work in the Transportation Sector within the castle. Nice to meet you, Rene!" he looked at Rene for a quick second before looking back at the front. "You even knew my name already... despite all of that, if you insist, then I''ll take up on the offer. Nice to meet you as well Raviol," Rene answered while smiling. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. Steadily, the small dagger within her hands slowly disintegrated into particles of mana as Raviol gained her trust. For a few minutes, they kept on talking with each other about many things while avoiding sensitive topics. From the conversation, Rene had known that Raviol was in fact injured because he was carrying resources during the defensive fight against the dragon when a fire bolt slammed against his carriage. Thanks to that, he was ''imprisoned'' in the red ward for a few weeks and wasn''t completely healed, until now. Soon enough, they reached the destination. Exiting the carriage, coachman gave him a few advices. "Remember Rene, not to wander off too far in the forests. Despite the absence of corrupted monsters and animals, it still lurks of dangerous and aggressive monsters that may attack any sign of life on sight. Also, take this, it''s the way to call for me if you need a ride," he said while handing a small whistle, imbued with special mana. "I''ll do well to remember your warnings, Raviol," Rene replied while taking the whistle. "Ah and also, take this as a token of thanks," focusing her mana on her palm, Rene manifested a gold coin and tossed it to Raviol. Catching the gold coin, he replied, "W-wha..? This is too much, I said I''d help for free!" "Ehehe.... consider it as one time payment then," Rene began sprinting toward the wall while stating that. "Just who is she really?" Raviol sighed before leaving off with his carriage. Seconds after Rene sprinted toward the wall, it didn''t take long until she reached it and faced against it. The wall was made out of stone, and did not hold a will of its own, so Rene was able to easily control it and could had made a temporary passage to walk through it, but there were several peoples around so it was not possible. As passing through the wall was not an option, she looked around to search for the entrance and did not spent a long time before locating it. It was several meters away so Rene had noticed it easily. Walking with leisure to the entrance trying to exit, she was instead stopped by one of the guards. "Stop right there!" he said while standing in front of Rene. "Huh? What''s the matter?" confused, she plainly stared at the guard. "Why are you trying to go out alone? Where are you parents? It is dangerous for a child like you to wander outside at this time as we are still engaging the dragon!" the guard relentlessly stated while picking up Rene. "L-let go of me!" Frightened, her eyes became red and with that dark roots began shooting from the ground, pushing back every guards there were in the vicinity while ensnaring them in their place. Adding another single thought, mists began forming out of nowhere under Rene''s command, allowing her to mask her identity. Gradually, her eyes turned green once more after she calmed down. With a surprised look, she watched her surrounding while muttering, "No! Why must this happen again?" Whenever Rene become emotionally unstable, she would initiate an unknown mode where her eyes would also become red. However, during this period Rene would lose a partial of her own personality control, causing her unable to refrain from performing actions of what she would usually not. Thanks to the mist, no one had known it was all Rene''s doings. With an apologetic tone, she said, "I''m sorry.... here is something as a compensation." Concentrating her mana into her hands, Rene created a small green orb. Like the scene from the Red Ward before, it split into individual parts and flew into the bodies of the guards. Its main purpose, to annihilate the fatigues that were within the guards after working for a whole day long. After finishing her business, Rene ran past the chaotic crowd due to the sudden mist and finally exited Tarvan. The outer walls, heavily damaged under various cause was the first thing Rene saw. And in the sky facing against the wall, was a dragon engaging against hundreds of various soldiers such as arch mages, knights and archers, lined up against the vast desert of nothingness, formerly a forest with various kinds of lives. Being rained upon under various attacks, the dragon screamed sounds of an incomprehensible language to the soldiers. On the other hand, the words that dragon spoke of, was clearly understood by Rene. "ROOAAAAARRRRR! GIVE MY DAUGHTER BACK YOU LOWLY LIVES!" the dragon screamed angrily. It was barely holding up with continuos barrage of various attacks from the human side which had lasted for perhaps weeks before Rene''s arrival. Furious of the dragon''s suffering and the death of her kind, her eyes became red once more. Under her will, she compressed the air within her surrounding and imbued them with paralyzing mana. For five seconds, she condensed them even further and then, caused them to burst. The result was a paralyzing shockwave that wiped out the entire Tarvan''s Army, only to make them fall on their knees, unable to move. The dragon, noticing the sudden turn of tides, looked at Rene who had caused it. "YOU! YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME?" he said while slowly landing in front of Rene, knowing that it was safe. Touching the dragon, Rene whispered, "My name is Rene, the princess of nature. I have come to help you. Nevertheless, if you continue to kill my own kind, I won''t be hesitating to end you."
Author''s Side : With this, yet another chapter done! Also, please do tell me how many words do all of you prefer in a single chapter? In any case, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it. :) Note : Sorry if its too short again, orz. Chapter 7 - Territorys Intruder Chapter 7 - Territory''s Intruder In a vast office, different from Rene''s, sat Thione who was thinking of various things. Mainly, on the mystery that revolved around Tarvan''s newly recruited healer, Rene. Sometimes, when he tried to ask Rene of her origin, she only evaded the question by changing the topic most of the time. There was also the case about the strange flower that had been on her head. One time, he even thought of pulling it off while she was asleep. Strangely however, the door which led to Rene''s office won''t budge even by a little, despite being unlocked and pushed with extraordinary force coming from Thione. Unbeknownst to him, the door was in fact being held back by the plants within the room that had sensed his mildly malicious intent. And yet another thing that slammed Thione with more curiosity. "Maybe... I should just talk to the monster and see the reason why..." After Rene had walked away from the Red Ward, Thione couldn''t locate her whereabout and decided only to stroll around in the castle, until he heard Rene''s thoughts. "Talk to the monster? Wait, does she mean THAT dragon?!" he thought. Before being able to interfere her decisions, Rene already walked away from the courtyard while Thione was staring at her blankly. After a while, he decided to check the Library in order to find out about Rene. In the library, he tried to search for books on clues regarding Rene, mainly through the hint of the flower''s existence on her head. To his dismay, much couldn''t be found that could be directly related to her. There were a few books that did say something peculiar, however. "On the day the Yggdrasil falls, a descendant of the Yggdrasil shall appear. Carrying Yggdrasil''s power and instincts, they may interfere with the world on their own accord. For the world, are their kingdom." "White hair, and green eyes. White hair, and red eyes. The two are not much of a threat to the world, but should the third eyes awakens, the world shall meet its end." "T-these are.... no, it couldn''t possibly be.... but still..," Thione trembled from fear after looking at the books. "..... Just who are you, Rene?" . .. ... "T-THE PRINCESS OF NATURE? IMPOSSIBLE! SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN LIZENDRA!" The dragon that had landed before took off once more in fear after hearing Rene''s claims. Furious, it flapped its wings to create a massive turbulence within the air space, blowing off almost everything within the area. Rene herself however, simply stood there as if nothing happened, all the while the rest of the soldiers were now piled up against the walls. The dragon also tried to breathe fire and burn Rene to crisp, however as if bending to Rene''s will, it formed a protective fiery barrier around her instead the moment it touched her. The recent turbulence that dragon created had caused a temporary sandstorm to occur, blinding the soldiers, thus indirectly allowing Rene to hide her identity. "You.... you dare attack me? Very well," she thought. "Listen to my will, fallen one. Rise. Rise and bloom, once more." With a thought, two massive blue sphere appeared on top of Rene''s hands. Pointing toward the sky, she shot the spheres into mid air, and soon enough exploded. The result was a beautiful blue rain, diving down upon the dry desert ground. In mere seconds, plants began sprouting out of nowhere and grew almost instantly, forming a dense forest of what the desert used to be. The dragon on the other hand, was stunned to look at Rene''s performance. Utilizing the chance she had, Rene manifested and shot multiple paralyzing metal needles at the dragon''s abdomen, causing it to fall on the land forcefully. Quickly, the vines within the area tied the dragon on the spot while being on the ground. As Rene approached the dragon slowly, she created a dark metal spear, specially made to penetrate dragon''s skins. The dragon watched Rene as she prepared herself to strike it down at point blank range. It knew that its time was coming to an end. Mustering up every strength it had, the dragon said, "Please, save my daughter," and closed its eyes. Suddenly, Rene stopped and just stared at the dragon. "I have proven my status as the Nature Princess by displaying only a part of my power," Rene said. "So, do well not to make me mad unless you want to die, ok?" she continued while smiling as her eyes gradually became green. Slowly, it opened up its massive eyes and looked at Rene before replying, "...... I AM SORRY FOR MY PREVIOUS DISPLAY OF DISRESPECT. I COULDN''T SIMPLY TRUST ANYONE CLAIMING FOR BEING THE PRINCESS OF NATURE." It began being enveloped in white light before dissipating, revealing its humanoid form, "My name is Luvan, a dragon obviously. It is such a pleasure to actually be able to meet Nature''s Princess here. Will you listen to my story?" "Well sure, but first thing first. Let''s find an inn for you to stay, and also clothes for you as well." Facing her palm toward Luvan''s direction, she focused to create clothings for him. In the end, she used Thione''s brown robe as a reference as she was not used to making complex things like clothings, despite her possessing the ability to do so. Walking toward the city''s entrance, Rene signalled Luvan to follow her. At first, Luvan was reluctant, but walked toward her in the end while looking at the piling soldiers against the walls, that looked like corpses. Pointing his finger to the unconscious soldiers, he asked, "What about those guys, won''t they compromise your identity?" "It''s fine, it''s fine! Notice the mist and the sandstorm you created before? Who can identify us in a place like this?" Rene replied while dispersing blue orbs from her palm to the soldiers for healing purposes. Holding the whistle dangling on her neck, she blew it. In a matter of minutes, a carriage soon enough arrived with Raviol as the coachman. . .. ... "We''re here, Rene!" Raviol claimed. "Thanks for the assistance, Raviol!" Rene replied. Stepping out of the carriage, Luvan followed her behind while Raviol stared at him. "Also Raviol, please notify Thione that I don''t think I''ll be back for tonight, but I''ll be doing so tomorrow." "You sure this is a good idea? I mean... a girl like you and a man like him, you know?" Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. With an oblivion face, she thought about it for a while, before suddenly blushing as she realized what he was talking about. "I-I''ll be fine! Now, move along already!" Rene said while pretending to push the carriage. Witnessing her cute act, Raviol couldn''t help but laugh before saying, "Hahaha, very well. But please, do be careful," and then gave Luvan a sharp stare. Not understanding what he was trying to say, Luvan followed behind Rene''s back as she entered the inn. Raviol soon enough left with his carriage, heading back to castle. The inn''s ground floor was filled with customers, mostly having dinner for the night. Various people was there, adventurers, merchants and more. Standing in front of the counter, Rene was greeted by a lady who wore a simple red shirt with a white scarf. "Welcome to Felia Inn! Do you wish to spend for the night here?" Manifesting three bronze coins, Rene handed it over to the innkeeper and said, "Two days for him, and one night for me." During this time, Rene was able to avoid unintentional attention by paying for the exact amount to stay in the inn because she had read about it within her own library. If she hadn''t, she would already be placing a gold coin on the innkeeper''s hand, thus causing her jaw to drop. In this world, the value of one gold coin is equal to 1000 silver coins, where 1 silver coin is equal to 1000 bronze coins. Depending on the inn, they may charge differently, where in this case, Felia Inn only charged 1 bronze per night. "Should I make it individual?" "I''ll.. have my own room," she said while remembering what Raviol said. "Very well, please follow me to room for both of you," the innkeeper said as she took a key and went out of the counter. The inn was small, but despite of that fact, it had consisted of three floors in total, and Rene''s room was within the second floor while Luvan''s was at the third. Naturally, Luvan knew of the way on how human works, so he took a bath, ate and did everything a human would, normally. On the other hand, Rene took a quick bath since being drenched in water for long would make her feel sick due to the water overload within her body. Eating wasn''t exactly what she preferred, or rather, she avoided it completely. The only way to satisfy her hunger for now was only through absorbing sunlight. Additionally, she couldn''t eat her own kind, which includes fruits and vegetables. For meat, she may rarely nibble on one some time, just because of her old human habit. In the middle late of the night where everyone were asleep, Luvan began talking with Rene on the rooftop of the inn. "So.... what happened that made you attack this country?" Rene asked while sitting on a chair, drinking some tea. "Well you see, you know right how every dragon have their own humanoid form?" Every dragon had their own humanoid form, possessing every single human natural characteristic except for their eyes which resembled that of a cat''s. Luvan explained how dragons'' strength become considerably diminished whenever they entered the humanoid form, so it was less likely that they would use it for combat purpose. His daughter, regardless, had a strange preference to hang around within the dragons'' nest in her humanoid form. Since it was only around the dragons'' nest however, they allowed her to do whatever she wanted. But then one day, a group of people intruded Luvan''s territory. They wore armors that had some sort of crests engraved on them, but Luvan was not able to focus on that, as he was engaging against them. They did not exactly pose a threat to Luvan, only as if delaying time. Suddenly, they began retreating for no reason. Confused, Luvan stood there in his defense stance, guarding his territory, until he saw his daughter unconscious, in the hand of the intruders. Filled with rage, he flew in order to save her daughter before it was too late, but then they simply teleported away. ".....CURSE YOU HUMANS!" he screamed furiously. Ever since then, he tracked the trail of mana left behind from the teleporting and thus, end up being in Tarvan. He tried to enter it through peaceful method, but soon enough the guards discovered his true form by looking at his eyes. Confident, he turned into a dragon and started attacking Tarvan, but he did not know that their defense was equally good, and could survive better with the Medical Sector backing them up. The day that he saw Rene, which was today, became the turning table as he was able to easily enter Tarvan now, with her assistance. "As such, I truly want to express my gratitude, however, I have no method of doing so, not in the way I am now," he said. "It''s fine, I''m doing this because I wanted to anyway. But I have been wondering, why don''t you just bring the whole dragons'' family to attack Tarvan? Well, I''d be stopping all of you anyway, but still, I want to know," Rene replied. "To take on the whole dragons'' race alone.... anyhow, that would be quite problematic, as we would be leaving our home defenseless. Also, I wanted to take this on myself, looking at how I was the cause for my daughter''s kidnapping." "Hmmm... just so you know, I''ll be assisting you. Who knows, they may have something up in their sleeves, plus, I''m bored anyway!" Rene stated while chuckling. "I truly appreciate your assistance. For now, how about we get some sleep? I haven''t been sleeping for weeks thanks to the soldiers." "If you say so then, good night!" Entering her own room, Rene casted a self protective barrier on herself as there were no plants that could protect her within the room. She proceeded to lie on her bed, played with her mana orb and soon enough, felt asleep.
Author''s Side : I thought I''d put yet another cliffhanger here but avoided as I thought I should refrain from using too much of it. Also I am sorry for not being able to reply for latest chapter, I truly have became somewhat busy, but I will still try my best to update chapters at least once in three days. In respond to GreyDragon0''s comment in previous chapter, I am trying my best to prevent on hitting a Hiatus status, but it will all depend on how I fare with my real life (schools mostly). Also, I would prefer to avoid taking ideas from readers directly, but the story does get affected indirectly through comments. In any case, thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed. :)
