《Summoned Heroes》 Chapter 00 : PROLOGUE In the middle of the night, at a certain slum, there stood 3 people. All with their own thought, all with their own different clothes. One of them covered in black suits from his head until his legs. On his face, there was a weird looking mask, like a cat with a demon-like horn in the middle. A dagger equipped in his left hand. His body¡¯s so small one would think he was still in his elementary grade. One with the biggest body stood in the middle wears a silver heavy armor. He was covering himself with a huge shield that sized around 6 feet. One was a girl around 5 feet. She wore a cute looking maid outfit like many would found around Akihabara. The only different is the big thing in her hands. In his hands, a great sword with many diamond ornaments in it. Despite its big size, she swung it around like it¡¯s nothing. All of them wore a stern looks on their face and constantly check their surroundings. Around them, many dead bodies can be seen with bloods splattered everywhere. *** I looked at my surrounding. There were no other players around anymore. It seemed that I had already killed most of them. I ran around once more. West Plaza, empty. North Dragon Ruins, empty. East Dragon Forest, empty. The only place left was the slums area in the south. It would be hard finding someone in the slums area. The slums area covered about 60 percent of the whole area, which mean around 16 kilometers. I stood in the middle of the mud covered slum and activated mediation to raise my alert while scanning the area. A dagger suddenly was thrown against my back. Fortunately with my high agility stats, I successfully dodged it. There were 3 people I have not managed to kill. Since I could not sense other people, it seemed the four of us were the only players left. No one moved even an inch. ¡°To think that you alone capable to overpowered all 24 of us... You¡¯re just like a raid boss, ya ¡®now.¡±, finally the biggest one came straight forward while scratch his hair. ¡°Now, only three of us left. This world is the currently most popular VRMMORPG in Japan, YamaDen a.k.a Yamato no Densetsu. A world where one becomes a peasant at first and worked until successfully obtained a job we want. For example, I myself work as assassin. There also many other jobs like ninja, samurai, knight, or other odd jobs like maid, slave, farmer, and merchant ¨C though I wonder who wants to take a job such as slave ¨C Royal Road is the home of this novel. As I logged out of the game, I got out of my room to get some drink. My house was only a normal house with two levels. My room took the whole second floor, so I had to go downstairs if I need something. Suddenly I got a headache on the way and fell off the stairs. My sister, the only family I have in this house, come after me instantly. ¡°What¡¯s wrong, nii?¡± She dressed cutely with a yellow one piece and white t-shirt inside. ¡°It¡¯s nothing.. I just got a little headache.¡± I said while stay still on the floor. ¡°That¡¯s why I said don¡¯t play for too long¡­ Haa~a¡­ I know you are a genius who don¡¯t need to study, but at least take care of yourself, would you?¡± Yes¨C¨C As she said, I¡¯m a genius. Chapter 00.5 : Another World ------ When I awake, my body feels very light. I¡¯m awake in an unfamiliar place. The roof supported by pillars might reach 5 meters away. The pillars and walls made from some unknown materials. I have never seen such material. It looks like a transparent gold but could block sunlight and sometimes the color¡¯s changed into dark red or dark blue. ¡°So you are all awake.¡± From the sounds of it, looks like I was not the only one here. Then I looked my surroundings, around me I saw two boys and a girl around my age. One boy looked like Japanese with a wavy brown hair. He wore a black polo shirt and short jeans. The other boy looked like a foreigner with his blue eyes and blond hair. He wore a bluish white t-shirt and jeans with him. The girl also looked like Japanese. She had a long straight black hair with twintails. She wore a long pink gown and white leather jacket. ¡°Ughh¨C¨C¡° ¡°Where is this?¡± Looked like they also did not know where they are. ¡°Welcome, Hero-dono. I, Lord Franz III, am the one who summon thee into this world. You shalt become the sword of our people.¡± An old bearded guy who looked like the King of this place announced himself that he¡¯s the one kidnaps us here. Normally, when you are to summon heroes from another world is when you are already in a pinch or there are demon lord around, isn¡¯t it? I don¡¯t know why, but somehow my hair becomes longer. And the color changed into chestnut brown. I look at my body. Somehow my waist becomes smaller. And I see a small bulge in my chest that should not be there. Don¡¯t tell me that¡¯s¨C¨C ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± Suddenly William broke my thought when I tried to touch my chest. I didn¡¯t realize since when did he get so close to me. ¡°No¨CNothing¡­ Just, my body feels different.¡± ¡°I knew right! My body also feels a bit heavy here. People covered in dark robe surrounded the hall, read some kind of spell harmoniously. The guard behind us told us to come to the middle and made a prayer in front of the King. ¡°Come forth, and receive your judgments upon yourself. Give your soul a shape so that it will protect you and become your sword to slain your enemies.¡± I decided to come in front first. I placed myself in front of the King. The King raised his hand and put the sword horizontally. ¡°Thus I prayed, thou art heroes of the Land of Myth. Break your soul and make anew. May your journey be blessed by Kurishaten and may your righteousness and justice protected by Nushrigruya. Come!!!¡± The golden sword suddenly stabbed into my body, but it doesn¡¯t hurt at all. The sword pulled afterward. From the place the King stab the sword, a light appeared. Suddenly my body feels burned from the inside. Blood splattered from my mouth, ears, and nose. Then, from the light, a shadow appeared in front of me. ¨C¨CA long dagger shaped¨C¨C Chapter 01.0 : THE HEROES All three of us slept in the same room to receive a healing after the ritual finished. The pain could not be expressed by words. Somehow it felt better to be just died quickly like that ¡°fourth hero¡±. After the ritual, I received a black long dagger, around 30 centimeters long. Nana received a thick book, covered by animal skin and fur. Maybe that¡¯s the so called magic book. William-san received a sand-colored sword made of rock. It looks sturdy, but I don¡¯t know how strong it is. Not long after that, the healing process finished. Then we summoned to the King¡¯s Hall immediately. ¡°Now you will receive your weapon report.¡± ¡°What¡¯s that? Is it like, weapon level, ability, or strength?¡± ¡°Yes. But, the results really make me disappointed.¡± The King made a face like parents who discovered his son¡¯s bad test scores. ¡°First, Kuroki-dono. You received three-star weapon levels. Your weapon is Night Heart Blade. It drastically raises your agility power, but also drastically decreases your strength and defense. The skills were undiscoverable. You should find it yourself. The only things that differs us heroes with the people of the lands were our compatibility towards legendary weapon and our gained skills or abilities here, so basically, we were not too different. I wonder what I should do after all this finished. I might need to learn about this world soon after. *** That night, inside a certain locked room, a girl sat and looked toward the moon. The room¡¯s only furniture was a small old bed. Light only came from the small windows in one side of the wall and small firelight seen from the little hole in the door. The walls and floor made of thick metal, makes it very hot in the blazing afternoon sun. There was nobody else beside her and maybe there would be no one to come. The girl crying but there was nobody to hear her out. ¡°Why did this happen to me? Why not others? I just want to live my life peacefully.¡± she knew that complaining would not get her anywhere, but she just wanted to spell out her feeling. It did not last her two hours until she finally feel asleep. *** That boy was about to sleep after eat his meal that night. He¡¯s on his way in a certain stone corridor that looked like a jail for criminals, but he was not a criminal. He¡¯s just a certain unlucky boy who got teleported into a certain illogical world and without a way to going back. (Damn it. I wonder how Saito-kun and Nana-chan doing after that. This place¡¯s quite spacious, so I might need to remember the way. At one corner, I saw a stairs up where I came from. Outside would be the garden behind the castle building A (or at least, that¡¯s what I call them, because there were three similar castle building. When seen from the top, the three building connected by a T-shaped corridor with castle A as the center and the largest. Castle A contained of three floors, The King¡¯s Hall before was in the first floor. Guards could be seen around the castle, but no one in building B and C. Thus I decided to enter castle A. It looks like with my speed and my quick thinking, I can evade all the guards¡¯ eyes. Just as I thought that, I successfully infiltrate the castle. As expected of me. I could not use any of my skills yet, so I had to keep running and hiding. The first floor¡¯s only room was the Hall. In the second floor, something unexpected happened. The only thing here was stairs. To go upstairs or downstairs. What the heck was that? As I could only think that, I continue to the third floor. There are four rooms, two in the left and two in the right. The two rooms in the right was locked, so I guess one of it was the King¡¯s room, but who was in the next room? One room in the left was empty, and one filled with mirrors and wardrobes. After unable to find another rooms, I quickly got outside. (The castle should not that empty, there must be some magic at work to make the rooms hidden. Well, I¡¯d go back for now.) After ran around for about 1 hour and went back inside my room, I just realized not even one drop of sweat could be seen in my face. I didn¡¯t even feel exhausted. I guess my stamina also rose quite a bit. I didn¡¯t have my phone or watch with me, but from the moon¡¯s position, I guess it should be about 11 by now. I rest my body in the bed and slept after 2 hours. The next morning, after ate my meals, I got summoned by the King. It¡¯s the time for the test. The King, with black armor equipped, looked more like a cockroach than a knight. The King, together with me and 3 sorcerers marched into Fara Gate with horses. *** I did not know why but suddenly, my brother¡¯s body became black sand. This happen suddenly after he said his head feel ill. I don¡¯t know what to do. I feel scared. Scared of what was happened to my brother. Scared of what would happen to me have my brother didn¡¯t come back. Scared of the possibility that my brother left his PCs on and because I didn¡¯t know how to turn it off. Scared of what she would do if the sand leave irremovable dent in the carpet. Just as I got remembered that I left the stove on and scared that the water¡¯s already boiled, suddenly my vision got dark. Then I feel my legs left the floor and there were nothing around me. Then I lost consciousness. When I got my consciousness back, I felt myself lying in the floor. The only difference is that it¡¯s not the carpet that I familiar of; instead, it¡¯s a brick stones. ¡°Welcome, young girl.¡± Suddenly from behind, an old man¡¯s voice could be heard. I turned my head and saw an old man with golden hair reached his shoulder wore an elegant silver armor. ¡°I am Lord Adlaine Rukhia, King of Rukh Kingdom.¡± ¡°O¨Cohh... Okay. Then, who am I?¡± ¡°Yes. You are¡­ Wait, wasn¡¯t that what you should tell me?¡± ¡°Eh, was it?¡± ¡°¡­¡± ¡°¡­¡­?¡± ¡°You¨C¨C don¡¯t tell me you¨C¨C lost your memory?¡± ¡°Haa?? Of course not! Why should I lose it? Then he explained everything starting from this world¡¯s condition until the hero summoning. It looks like I became a hero of this world. I was worried about my brother¡¯s condition, but now I have other things to be worried about. It might be, by any chance, brother also got summoned into this world just like me. That might be the best. He also explained about Weaponitation Ritual. About how it extracting one¡¯s soul into a shapes of weapon that most suited for one¡¯s ability and identity. ¨C¨CMaybe he thinks that I was stupid, but he always repeat each of his sentences, like how parents teach his baby how to talking. Well, that¡¯s probably because of my fault. ¨C¨C After that, everything went quickly. I did a Weaponitation Ritual. It really hurts, I almost lost my consciousness. After got healed, he showed my ¡®weapon¡¯. It seems that I got an encyclopedia called ¡®True Myth¡¯. It said that I could summon any legendary creatures from myths. It might be that I got this book because I loved to read any fairy tales and legend books. I wonder if I could summon unicorn and rode it. At that night¡¯s dinner, the old man told me to go with him two days from now because of an important meeting would happen and he need me to protect him in case something happened. ¡°That¡¯s why, it might be best if you try to strengthen your power by training. After a few hours (I think), I started to try summoning bigger animals. I successfully summoned an alcorn, eagles, elephant, and griffin (but immediately ran away). I did not find any problem with the process it seems. The only mentioned problem was, the summoned creatures did not disappear even after a day has been passed. After my second day training, the garden¡¯s already full of animals. ¨C¨CThen, two days have passed. ¡°You know what you have to do, right?¡± ¡°Ye¨Cyeah.¡± ¡°Then let¡¯s go. You will use the carriage behind.¡± ¡°Okay¡­¡± And here goes my first mission in this still unknown world. Chapter 01 : THE TRAGEDY *************************************** The sky was clear without clouds and sun scorched blazingly. In the distant wasteland, there were no moving object but 5 horses that calmly moving through with their riders. Yes¨C¨C one of them was me, the great Kuroki Saito, who somehow being summoned into another world and turned into a girl. We was going into enemies¡¯ territory to assassinate the king of Rukh Kingdom that was about to sign an alliances with another kingdom. Since the protection was weaker, we decided to take the chance. Not that I care about this specific kingdom, I was only tried to safe my summoned buddies, Yuuko Nana and William Lionel who also forcibly summoned and then trashed out from being ¡®summoned heroes¡¯ into ¡®useless trash¡¯ just because their abilities were thought as weak. Okay, back into the stories, after one and half a day in a horse, finally we could see our destination. ¨C Fara Gate ¨C From afar, it¡¯s looked just like a normal stone gate. It¡¯s about 4 meters height and placed between two huge mountains by about 30 meters length. In both corner, there were guard posts guarded by three people each. I didn¡¯t think we can do anything besides attack it head-on. ¡°That¡¯s the gate. The enemy should have already seen us coming. Prepare for attack.¡± ¨C¨CWhat!? We are not even using strategy or anything? We just attack head-on like this? What the hell is this King thinking? Well, I don¡¯t think he¡¯s thinking about anything at all. Then the king took out a sword from his waist. ¡°You, Kuroki-dono, with your speed you should be able to do a pincer attack. I request you to stay alert in front of the gate. The enemies may arrive anytime soon. Protect the gate at any cost. You can summon anything you can imagine strong enough to kill them.¡± ¡°I must¡­ kill them?¡± ¡°They are enemies; it¡¯s only about kill the enemy or killed by the enemy.¡± I never thought that I have to kill someone. But that¡¯s couldn¡¯t be helped, right? Then the old man turns himself and went into the big building inside the gate. Then I prepare myself for the enemy¡¯s attack. An hour passed. Just as I started to get tired, few horses appeared. (So that¡¯s the enemies. With that numbers, they are likely to attack from two or three sides. That¡¯s not really a problem. I just need a monster big enough to cover the entire gate and hard enough to protect me from sword and magic. Then I¡¯ll just try to summon this one.) ¨C¨C Orthrus ¨C¨C ¨C¨C A two-headed dog with a tail of serpent who born only to guard his master¡¯s herds.
