《Classic》 Chapter 1 - Humor me The feeling of cool metal could be felt against my shackled wrists. The skin had torn on several occasions but had always found its way to mend back sooner or later. Helpless, dirty, such words could be used to describe me now, better yet us. The slave industry was a popular one; it was legal here unlike elsewhere. Elves were a popular and rare race. Better quality merchandise, objects of profit. Even so, the treatment at the present sucks. The youngest of us that was aged 12 is dying. It was displayed as to so everyone noticed, reason be that they haven''t even bothered to clean the boy up. Normally, the more valuable ones (slaves) receive better treatment. But it''d seem that this company had different policies I suspect. It wouldn''t be hard to give better treatment really, just more food''ll do. Better clothing and better sanitation alongside hygiene. We literally live in our waste and only a single slave that looked no more than 16 would clean up our cages once a week. The lot of us were categorized in accordance to our races in general. I sound adaptive even in my own mind but I was agitated, frustrated, and angry. But nothing could be done. The reason was terribly simple, we had no power and the result would be the lack of options that would originally be available. Elves were prized for their magic, yet they shackle us with chains with a magic bind engraved. Bound, like dogs, unless there were to be someone to buy us from outside the dark cage; freedom was but a fleeting dream. Scratch that, freedom is but a fleeting dream; no more, no less. Sigh... my lower bum area hurts, its numb and i can''t feel a thing. Sitting really takes its toll ya know. Stupid humans. Moreover, my wrists! someone put some fluff around it would you?! To even mention the reason would be ridiculous. It HURTS! owowowowowow, although I have a poker face on, I still feel. *fake sobs* The dark corridor remains soundless, not even the sound of drifting air could be heard. There was a single window that was in bars, used for ventilation, it was doing a decent job i guess. The atmosphere was dark and heavy it was almost visible. No smiles could be see and not to mention anyone funny enough to crack some jokes to lift the atmosphere. They knew the tip of the iceberg of their future and that itself was enough. They have the eyes of dead fish, not like I''d any the past few months. So hungry. I really ~ just wanna kill them all. The humans of course. Someone humor me, this feels terribly bad. Even my fearing system ceased functioning, there''s nothing simulating anymore. I know, how about a self-introduction? It''s better than nothing i guess. Gee, it''s actually kinda embarrassing. Fuu~ Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. The names Kiri, my story represents the mother of cliches. As an orphan, I had not any parents nor siblings. No close ones either, I just lived; was there. Life wasn''t all that hard since the forest was my domain and i lived as a vegetarian for like, the last 12 years since i was born? Nonetheless, my village was pretty anti-social actually. There was no bullying too. Pretty neat if you ask me. So one day, a crimson dance was performed. Have you guessed it? A fire, yes. It burned my shed down, all the way to the very ashes of its being. I recall, the thick scent of smoke that brought tears to my eyes and clogged up my nose too. The village was in chaos as sharp screams vertebrate throughout the entire village that was burning ever so quickly. The humans arrived shortly after the panic and abducted the younger ones, the older ones were obviously slaughtered of course. No words were said, no questions asked. Crimson danced and they weren''t only flames. Splatters of blood were all over the place, most leaking from the elder''s necks. As one were to take a stroll, the smell of blood heavily contaminated the entire area, alongside smoke, the abduction was pure irony. Eyy? see what I did there? Ok, that was lame, I know. Nonetheless, I too had my own share of screams. I performed the high-pitched act to the point it felt as if my throat tore. My adrenaline was at its max and I ran like the panicked and young clueless elf I was. The blood had gotten to my head and all cool was lost. The last thing i''d saw when i was quick on my feet was this bloody ugly doll which had blood marks on ''her'' face. Terrifying, I tell you. After that were hands, they covered my eyes, the only sense of sight I had dissipated. Kicking and struggling proved ineffective as they then covered my mouth that hadn''t stopped screaming since the very beginning of the abduction. How rude! Alright, sorry imaginary audience but my mind''s voice feels tired now. I''ll continue next time, malnutrition is taking its toll after all. More-so than i suspected. Ah, food... Its dinner time. Basically the only meal we have everyday, once a day and it consists of some mushy like substance. I swear magical beasts eat better than this. Chapter 2 - So, moving on the Mother of Cliches... The dinner for that day (today) was awfully bland. I¡¯m not even kidding, the taste may be even below such a statement. Bumpy and pale looking, there were also a few added green chunks floating around the suspected broth. All my tongue grasped was a disgusting texture. Taste-wise it was plain. Just plain. There was not even a particular sweetness, sour, saltiness nor bitterness to it. I¡¯d expected something from the green chunks that were randomly floating around but it just felt somewhat chewy. Moving on from the taste test, the story of my life. The ones so far that is. An additional fact, the hands that¡¯d covered my eyes and moved to a part of my nose smelt sweaty. Gross, like, totally. Panic after, came anxiousness. The screaming stopped and the cause mostly to the fact that the residents of the village were mostly dead, injured or silenced whereupon whilst in a cage. It was natural as their lives were at stake and no dumb elf would be brave enough to defy the order of ¡®Be silent.¡¯ I was immature then, more so than I am now. Compared to a few months back, if it weren¡¯t for the fact that the strange and muscly humans covering my mouth and eyes, I¡¯d probably continue screaming. No, I haven¡¯t developed nor grown mature since then. It is but wishful thinking as all that progressed was just my common sense. But it still counts I guess. At that moment, my brain processed the upcoming situation; it was a prediction. That was, to be thrown into a cage that was tightly secured with metal railings. The cuffs present and the shackles on my wrists were measures, to keep our magic in check. This, I found ridiculous as we were still young and magic was obviously unavailable to us. Nonetheless, I¡¯d suspect that the ones that were placed even on children proved facts that the humans did not know as much about our kind than they think they do. Assumptions. Describing the obvious trip to where I be at the present is fairly easy. The sky was blue. The sun shun brightly. It was at the break of dawn did they choose to attack, and as time passed the sun naturally rose to all its glory. The heat and in addition to the 7 other elves present consequently gave to a stuffy trip. Each of us were fairly young as ranging from my age (12) to elves that ranged around their mid-twenties. Elves had long lives so their appearances only denied their ages. Still, they were on the younger sides compared to the older ones back at the village. It was bumpy, pulled in wheeled carriages everyone had a look of despair on their faces. Faces partly covered in ash and blood, there was even one that had a chipped ear. I subconsciously touched the tips of my ears then (we weren¡¯t shackled yet). Yet, if I were to describe my expression among the batch on us, my face played an excited look. A flicker of flame danced in my emerald green eyes. Although I should be down of my possible future, and after all the high pitched screeches I¡¯d performed, the feeling was strangely intoxicating. A masochist? Nope. A potential one? Maybe. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Describing emotions although unclear, check. Appearance then, sure. Time took turn for the longest and the time I had to spare was awfully long. As the caged hole is plastered on the brick walls of my enclosure, the time indicated night. Only mere hours passed after my most recent story time. Invisible audience that exists wondrously in my mind, forgive me as the time to sleep nears. As a finale, a description as to my appearance from the time a last remembered and checked. Which was by a lake back at the village. So last I checked I had large emerald green eyes that somewhat glowed in the dark. They show tinges of darker greens and the colors blend naturally against one another. My hair was decently long and unkempt. The colour of it a milky white. Gradually, through the experiences recalled, turned far darker and longer. Tangled and bloody, it stank too. My sharp nose was placed nicely below my large doe eyes and even farther down was my mouth that formed a slightly seductive set of plump lips (Red too. Banzai). Male elves generally had appearances that beat even the human females which I knew. I looked pretty good if I don¡¯t say so myself but nevertheless, there were still guys that beat me in the aspect of prettiness but they sold rather quickly. And it was something I did not want at his moment because the last one that was bought had an overweight looking owner with an overdose of cologne soaked into his rubbery skin and he reeked of¡ perviness that made even the seller next to him uncomfortable. The poor flower boy *ahem¡* teen looked terrified. Next up on ¡®describe your appearance¡¯ would be the ears that elves were in generally proud of. They were long as the edge extended sharply forming a spear-like tip unlike the rounded ones of a certain unnamed species. To speak of them out loud causes trouble you see, they have sixth senses that activate as to when one speaks or thinks badly of them. That or it¡¯s just my disgusted facial expression when the word starting with ¡®h¡¯ comes on. Resuming the topic of ears, I¡¯ve been wanting an ear piercing lately. Alongside chained ear cuffs; you¡¯d expect that¡¯d I¡¯ve already grown traumatised by chains but nooo, the ear cuffs just look so damned good. And so is the reason. Alright so¡ moving on¡ *yawn* Tomorrow yea? I need my beauty sleep. Today yet again no one comes. It¡¯ll actually be kinda nice if a good person comes to visit once in a while ya know. In order to buy one of us of course, me in particular. An elf can only go so far with an unsatisfied stomach after all. Ahh, so tired. Of this, of everything.
