Prologue ¡°Dammit! What the hell is this monster!?¡± shouted a young-looking teenager afar running around on a plain grassland. The teenager was actually running as if his life depended on it. Behind him, one could see a large bull chasing. The weird part about the bull is that, it had three horns and the middle horn was a lot larger than the other two. ¡°ROARRRRR !!!¡± The bull looked like it was pissed off. The young-looking teenager''s face started to become clouded by panic when the bull roared. He thought ¡°WHY THE HELL IS A BULL IS ROARING!? ISN¡¯T SUPPOSED TO BE MOO''ING!?¡± Ahead of the young-looking teenager was the edge of the plain and it seemed that if he kept running ahead he would surely dive into the abyss. Finally, the bull caught up to the young-looking teenager. He didn''t have any place to run anymore. Then something popped up in his mind, ¡°Ah, the one who MOOing is a cow right? Then what does the bull say?¡± He stopped at the edge of the mountain and started to ponder about it. The bull tried to intimidate the young-looking teenager, but it was simply ignored by him. The teen seemed to look different from when he was chased by the bull. The bull became angrier when he noticed he was being ignored. The bull then started to inhale the air until it¡¯s stomach became round, then it released all of it. ¡°ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!¡± Feeling something was coming at him, the teenager shivered. A bad premonition. ¡°Wha-!? Dang! I was careless again!¡± He paniced a little but then he calmed down quickly. He started moving his hand around smoothly, drawing a formation. The bull couldn''t comprehend what was happening, so the young-looking teenager shouted ¡°I Luke, shall kill you for disturbing me from getting the right answer!¡± Luke¡¯s hand started to draw another formation, but this time the formation was much more complicated, yet it didn¡¯t even take him 2 seconds to complete it. ¡°[Enhance] Physical Damage Increase!¡± Then he started to draw another formation. ¡°[Create] Earth Spike!¡± Suddenly, from the ground where the bull was standing, a large spike made purely of earth erupted piercing the bull. Slowly the bull''s eyes became lifeless. A window popped out from the bull. Congratulation! You killed the boss of Evertia¡¯s Plain, ! Not like they have a bad relationship, it was his parent job that required them to work all over the world. Then, Yuu create a promise with his father, if he can show his father an achievement that can support his future and dream, his father will permit him to play VRMMORPG. So he started too studied all about game developing and started learning about programming and different language of computer. Fortunately, he seems to be talented in this field and start to master a few languages in a year. Then he created his own app and even makes money with it. In just a year he becomes an app developer. His father didn¡¯t expect this, but he reluctantly permits him to play VRMMORPG. Yuu right now is 18 year old, he just end his high school last year. ¡°Hehehehe I can¡¯t wait anymore¡­¡­.let started to unpack this box first!¡± In front of him is a small-sized box with ¡°V.W.C Machine¡± write at the box. ¡°With this¡­¡­I can finally enter the world of S.O, Eternia¡­..fuahhhh my dream will finally come true!!!!¡± S.O, stand for Seikatsu ONLINE. The first and largest Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. It has the biggest community and playerbase comparing from the other VRMMORPG. Other than that, the world in Seikatsu ONLINE called Eternia is the largest world that has been created in a VRMMORPG. There also rumors that the game isn¡¯t managed by the people from Linker, the game company that responsible for Seikatsu ONLINE. But is managed by a super A.I (Artificial Intelligence) that is created by a team of researcher from Linker. S.O is very popular because of its own game system which is very unique and full of entertainment. Different from other VRMMORPG, S.O¡¯s world, Eternia¡¯s event, is not decided by Linker or the Game Master. Everything will be decided by the player interaction and decision. Well, that is Seikatsu ONLINE. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Yuu started to open the box vigorously. His face becomes excited when he sees a circular shaped machine like a glass. This machine is called V.W.C, Virtual World Connector. It is an essential equipment to play any Virtual Reality related games or software. He started reading the manual and starts to set up the V.W.C. ¡°Hahaha, with this I can go explore new thing! Maybe I should ask Reina to play too¡­..oh well maybe next time~¡± He wear the V.W.C and say, ¡°Gate open!¡± Suddenly his vision becomes dark and a certain light is lit up. The light is guiding him toward something. ¡°Welcome to Virtual World Connector. Please choose a name that will present yourself. Do avoid using your real name because it might harm you in real life.¡± A gentle woman voice is resonated in Yuu¡¯s ear. Each human can only has one account of V.W.C. Even though the V.W.C machine can be change, the account of the human that has been registered once will stayed same. In other words, the character in V.W.C is like another life for a human. V.W.C job is only to connect human to the Virtual World. There is many Virtual World create by each different game company. But there will only be one character for each human in this world. Yuu starts to ponder about his name. ¡°What should I use¡­..? Maybe Breadman or CrackerBoy? First human, the most populated race in the game and has a very balanced stat. Human doesn¡¯t has any specialize traits, but they can have them depending on how the player play. Human can turn in to vampire or any sub-Human type of race. Isn¡¯t there any succubus-Type human? If there is, I really want to meet one¡­Unfortunately there still no news about it¡­.Oh there is also the Legendary High Human race, but it seems in the game right now there is only 2 player that has achieve it. Okay next is Elf. ELF!!!! WHOAAAAAAA! ELFFFF YEAHHHHH!!! WOOHOOOOO! HUEHUEUHUEHUEHE!!!! ¡­¡­.uhm sorry for that, I¡¯m really much excited to see Elf in reality, but that dream will never be accomplish in real world so Virtual World will compensate it. Okay now, Elf has 3 types that are Wood Elf, Dark Elf and Bloody Elf. ¡­¡­.. ¡­¡­¡­ DARKK ELFFF!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I WANT TO PLAYED BY DARK ELF ONEE-CHAN!!!!! A-ah¡­¡­sorry... Dark Elf is cute right¡­¡­.. Back into the topic, Wood Elf has abnormally high INT but low AGI and PHY. For Dark Elf Onee-chan, they have very high AGI but a little low in INT and WIS. And finally, for Bloody Elf, they have higher PHY and AGI but very low LUK and WIS. Ah! I haven¡¯t explained about stat in S.O! Let me give a brief explanation for stat system in S.O, each player has 6 main stats, that is PHY, AGI, INT, WIS, HLT, and LUK. PHY, Physical, will be increasing the player¡¯s physical attack and defense. AGI, Agility, increase player¡¯s speed, critical damage and dodge rate. INT, Intelligence, increase player¡¯s magical power and critical damage. WIS, Wisdom, increase player¡¯s mana pool. LUK, Luck, increase player¡¯s luck and critical chance. HLT, Health, increase player¡¯s health pool. Well that about it. Now continuing on, every Elf is bestowed with title when they¡¯re born in the Eternia. Every title has its own specialty, it seems for this title, player will be able to make contact with fairies and there is even a rumor stating there is a kingdom of fairies in Eternia. I wonder how big is their kingdom? I just hope it not really small¡­..or will it be in the forest? Let¡¯s pray the kingdom will not be burn by some mistake¡­.. Finish about Elf, now Beastman, the cutest, strongest and the only race that has neko ion. I¡¯m kidding. WHO DOESN¡¯T LOVE NEKOMIMI DAMMIT!? *cough* *cough* Okay continuing on, Beastman, who is also a human whom has a certain type of beast element. The Beastman race currently has 6 type of beast that is Black Panther, Tigre, Cat, Dog, Monkey and Bird. Linker has already decided to add a new type of Beastman in a near future. I really looking forward to it, I hope it will be an Arachne¡­..hm probably not, Arachne may turn into monster category¡­. So here is the specialization stat for each type of Beastman. Black Panther: Has much higher AGI and PHY but very low in INT and WIS. Cat: Has very high LUK but very low INT. Bird: Has very high AGI but very low INT. Dog: Has very high PHY but very low WIS. Tigre: Has abnormal PHY and high HLT but no INT. Basically, Tigre beastman can''t use magic. Monkey: Has very high AGI and slightly higher PHY but very low INT. Now here comes the exciting part of becoming a Beastman! This race has a special traits that is [Transformation]! All Beastman, will have a [Transformation] skill depending on what type of beast they chose. This skill can also be enhance in the game by doing some special-type of quest. Yeah, I know, I know, this really make every man excited. Who doesn¡¯t want to turn into a beast and go rampaging!? It is every man dream to do that! That should cover for the Beastman, now continuing on, Dwarve and Halfling doesn¡¯t really have anything extraordinary about them. But if a player wants to turn into a Blacksmith, Tailor, Alchemist or any crafting related job, Dwarves will be the best choice for it. Dwarves stat is more specialize to PHY and HLT. They have very high PHY and HLT but very low INT and WIS. The special thing about Dwarves is, they will be bestowed by title upon being born in Eternia. This title will be able to help player to craft. Also this title can be enhance in the game by doing a certain special quest. For Halfling, they have very high AGI but very low PHY. This kind of stat specialization makes some player really love them because it is an ideal stat for an assassin type of class in any game. But not only that, Halfling will also be bestowed by title that can help them to fuse into the dark when using any hidden-related skill. This race is the best choice if the player love to move stealthy. And then there is Ogre, the abnormally powerful race that has terrifyingly amount of PHY. But the cons are that they can¡¯t use any magic. Yup, zero WIS and zero INT. Most of their attack will be based on physical damage. This has really set a drawback on this race, but some player still loves them because of how imposing their look is. Well certainly that they can¡¯t use any magic power and attack, but that can be compensate by using weapon that has certain magic effect. But well duh, who doesn¡¯t want to use magic? LOL And finally! We come to the infamous Dragonborn! Well even though this race is really cool, there not many people chose it. Why? Because this race is like a gamble for the player. The population of this race in the game doesn¡¯t even cover 1/1000 of the world. There not even fifty of them in the game. The bad thing about this race is, the Dragon type that the Dragonborn has will be randomly chosen. There is 3 Dragon type for Dragonborn race that is, Lesser Dragon, Pure Blooded Dragon, and Divine Dragon. The bad thing about them isn¡¯t about the stat specialization, because all Dragonborn has a very balance stat like human. It is because their own special traits, the [Draco Blood Art] skill set. This skill is of course very powerful, but the drawback about it is, the strength of the skill depends on the concentration of the blood of the Dragon type. And you guess it, the Lesser Dragon has the lowest concentration of dragon¡¯s blood and the Pure-Blooded Dragon has medium concentration of dragon¡¯s blood. While the Divine Dragon has the highest concentration of dragon¡¯s blood. It is not much problem if the difference is little, but the difference between each type of Dragon type is very large making people doesn¡¯t really want to ruin their chance in the game. Dragonborn also has transformation skill, but it differ a little bit from Beastman race. Stolen story; please report. Lesser Dragon traits: [Half-Body Draco Transformation] skill Pure Blooded Dragon traits: [Full-Body Draco Transformation] skill Divide Dragon traits: [Complete Draco Transformation] skill So not only they have different concentration of dragon¡¯s blood but they also has different trait¡¯s skill. But this should not really stop the player from choosing them eh? There is also another problem about this race, that is the chance to get for each type of Dragon type. Lesser Dragon = 90% chance Pure Blooded Dragon = 5% chance Divine Dragon = Not confirmed Well that is why people doesn¡¯t want to play the game as this race. Currently there is not even one Divine Dragonborn. But that still can¡¯t be confirmed, because players can¡¯t really differentiate between each Dragon type for Dragonborn by outer appearance. They can only be differentiate when a Divine Dragonborn use their [Complete Draco Transformation] skill. Well now that is a completed explanation about race in S.O. So it¡¯s time for me to choose! Hm¡­. how about human? Well certainly they are pretty nice choice considering all the stat is balance and has a very nice future in the game¡­¡­but¡­.that¡¯s boring. Well ya¡¯know, I¡¯m already a human in the real world, why the hell should I choose another human in this world! Okay human out. Next is elf, they also have a nice prospect in the game, but nope. I hate being a skinny guy. Not to brag, but I practice martial art starting from my childhood from my parents. That cause me to get a pretty nice body, so yeah no, I hate being skinny. Beastman? Hm that is certainly an awesome choice. But I want to be a female Beastman! Not a male Beastman dammit! OUT! Next choice is, Dwarve, out. What? I don¡¯t want to have a short build! Then, Halfling, also out. And Ogre, huh no magic OUT. The last one, Dragonborn huh¡­well if I got Lesser Dragonborn not a big problem to me. Not like I am aiming to be top 3 or whatever in the game. Each race will has different starting equipment and it seems Dragonborn is slightly toward Japanese themes huh. ¡°Heehh, this is pretty nice. All the equipment is < White Rank >.¡± All items, equipment and other stuff, in S.O have ranking system that is called Color Rank. The lowest ranking is < White Rank >. Continuing the rank in ascending order will be, < Green Rank >, < Blue Rank >, < Purple Rank >, < Red Rank >, < Gold Rank > and < Black Rank >. < White Rank > is pretty much a common rank so it doesn¡¯t really have much value. While < Green Rank > would be uncommon, it doesn¡¯t have very high value but it certainly higher than < White Rank >. Then comes the < Blue Rank >, a rare rank that most player would want. Its value is much higher than < Green Rank > and the difficulty to get this color rank item is pretty much harder. For < Purple Rank >, this would be called Epic Rank item, and of course the requirement to get this kind of item is very difficult. Next is, < Red Rank > the Legendary Rank item. Well even with this kind of statement people will already know how high the value is and how hard to get it. And finally comes < Gold Rank >, Myth Rank and < Black Rank >, Phantom Rank. Both of this rank¡¯s existence hasn¡¯t been confirmed yet because there still no player that has found it in this one year. So the highest ranking that has been shown is < Red Rank > and there only handful of them. According to the recent news, there are only 12 people who have this kind of items, but that can¡¯t be called genuine information. There might be player who hiding their items to avoid any public¡¯s eyes. Well the game has just launched one year ago, so not a lot of the region in Eternia has been explored. ¡°Okay! Now then, let¡¯s start the adventure!¡± With an embarrassing pose, I start my adventure in this plain of grassland! Hmm, for now I should focus on leveling and try to get a class. Low-level mobs should be my priority right now. ¡°[Equipment Summon] [- Beginner Katana -]¡± Several light particles start to form in front of me and a long 28 inch katana appeared in front of me. It really looks like a genuine katana, it¡¯s like in the movie honestly. ¡°I should start to get used to this body first.¡± I begin to make a stance, Seidan no Kamae, a basic stance of kendo. And then I start to perform other stance and try to move comfortably and smoothly. Seems there is no uncomfortable feeling and I can feel like this is directly my body. They will also guard the area and if there is any P.K-ing the Guardian will help the newbie players. The problem is, each Guardian has their own range of protection. So right now in this << Evertia¡¯s Plain >> there is Guardian. But it seems I have been out of their range because I was too focused on killing the mobs. Example, like [ Transformation ] skill, only the Beastman race have it, because the requirement for the skill is to be a Beastman. Well they can learn, but it is hard to master them. Skill can be unlocked if a certain requirement is triggered or learn it from the master. The only way to upgrade a skill, is by using skill point. Skill point can be gathered by leveling up or using [- Skill Book -]. Unfortunately, [- Skill Book -] is a < Purple Rank >, so basically it¡¯s an Epic Rank item and very rarely found. So the price for this item skyrocketed and not many people can earn it. There not even many people that would sell it, so it basically can be categories into < Red Rank > item if compared in rarity and price. And the final way to gather skill point, the most hated way by players, is by using the skill as much as you can. Certainly it does sound easy, but not really, because to get one skill point, player might have to use it probably around 50-100 times, depending on the skill. That is only for the first time. For the second skill point and next other skill point, the difficulty to get it will be increased. So this is probably the hardest method to get skill point. Not many players adored this way because they thought it is a waste of times. Most players buy the [- Skill Book -] from the Auction Site, yep using real money. Well S.O can be considers second life, so there even stable job in this field. Player can explore an unexplored region or land, and record it for information, search rare item to auction or anything that can be sell too benefit other player. Starting from level 5, player can choose from 4 Beginner Normal-Type Class, Warrior, Mage, Thief, and Healer. After Beginner Class, player can upgrade it to Advanced Class. The player must follow the requirement to upgrade the class. There might be a quest if the players want to upgrade their class ranking. So the ranking for class in S.O is started by Beginner Class, Advanced Class, Expert Class, Master Class, and Grandmaster Class. There also 2 hidden ranking that hasn¡¯t been show. The highest class ranker that has existed in S.O right now is at Master Class. There still no information about Grandmaster Class. Also each class will have their own branch of upgrade in ranking. Example, from Beginner Class of Warrior to Advanced Class, the player will have two choices, become a Swordman or Mercenary. And upgrading class rank does not depend on one¡¯s level. Each class has their own level starting from level one until ten. The class level''s experience accumulated when the player kill a monster. There also some quest that give class experience. Notice that there is Normal-Type Class? There isn¡¯t only one type of class in S.O. The Special-Type Class. This class is different from Normal-Type Class. It can¡¯t be apply like how you apply Normal-Type Class at The Guild. The only way to get it is by doing hidden quest. And that depends on your luck. If you''re lucky then you found it, if you don¡¯t, then you don¡¯t. By the way, after getting Normal-Type Class it doesn¡¯t mean that you can¡¯t get Special-Type Class. Player can still get the Special-Type Class by getting rid their Normal-Type Class. Yep, it means they have to forever get rid of their Normal-Type Class ranking. For example, if a player is an Expert Class, and he found a Special-Type Class by mere luck, he have to get rid his Expert Class to start the Special-Type Class at Beginner Class back. So he has to work hard again to upgrade the class rank for Special-Type Class. But the player will get a stat boost when he received the Special-Type Class. And another important information here, there is only one for each Special-Type Class, and getting a Special-Type Class doesn¡¯t mean the class is strong. It depends on what the class is specialized for. After getting a new class, player can learn the specialize skill for the class chosen. So each class will has different skill, though player can learn the basic skill for each class by buying it respective skill book, the advanced skill and higher level skill can¡¯t be learned. All high level skill books are in < Red Rank > so to get the skill book is almost impossible. There are only 2 < Red Rank > skill books that have been found in S.O. < Raging Storm > an Expert Class level skill and < Magic Hand > an Advanced Class level skill. LUK + 5 [ Weather¡¯s Support ] (Passive) Description: If the user do an action in any weather-related situation, user will get an increase amount of stat depending on the weather¡¯s condition. [ Element¡¯s Lover ] (Passive) Description: User will have 100% of affinity in any type of element including Void element. User would also be able to learn any elemental type of skill. Like, why does the description of the skill tell that the skill consume 50 mana per use, but it didn¡¯t tell player that it will continue to consume player¡¯s mana if a living being or rather a servant is created? And is there any restriction of the creation? Will the ingredient be limited to earth only? I think I can already guess about how the mana used for this skill. Even though the description tell the player that the skill consume 50 mana per uses, it also said ¡°This skill is not an offensive type skill, it is a utility type skill¡±. Means it is an all-purpose skill. So my hypothesis is the way and amount of the mana is consumed are all depends on what you create. Though it is only a hypothesis for now, I still need to do an experiment to confirm it. ¡°Anyway, this skill is pretty sick.¡± If the skill has no restriction at all, it basically means I can create anything. But I doubt that. There must be some restriction for the skill. But for now I need to go back, she must have wait for quite a while. I think it is better for me to store the skill point first. Even if I enhance between the two skills, there will obviously be an increase of mana consume for each skill. It let players to divide the experience and the looted item evenly. But, the leader can create any condition and the party member will be force to follow it. For example, let say a random leader create a condition ¡°All of the looted item belongs to me¡±, so all the looted item will be given to the leader. But the experience will still be provided evenly. The drawback of this type of party is, the players can¡¯t leave the party unless the contract is complete or the leader themselves give the permission to leave the party. But usually the [ Contract Party ] that create by other players doesn¡¯t really have any extreme condition unless in a certain situation. This kind of party, have its own unique benefit other then splitting everything evenly. The maximum amount of people that can be grouped into a [ Companion Party ] is 15 players. The players will be able to share experience in a long-distance place. The maximum range of the sharing experience is divided by each region. Meaning, if both players is in Evertia¡¯s region, then they can share their experience. But if one player is at Evertia¡¯s and others at Ryukyu, they won¡¯t be able to share their experience. Even though the party can be created anywhere, they still have to register their party after creating it to The Guild. Even though it is an optional setting, it can help players to gain fame. Another feature of this party is, the longer the time the players stick together the higher the amount of experience that they can share. With its two large teeth that pops out from its mouth and huge proportion body. And that blue hide and mane, it was hard to penetrate into it. We met it by chance when farming the Trolls in this cave. Even though it¡¯s a Boss-Type monster, it¡¯s not really hard. The only annoying part is its AoE attack and its large health pool. ¡°Graaaar!!!!!¡± ¡°Here it comes! Dodge it!¡± ¡°Okay!¡± *BANG!!!* ¡°Nice! Reina move back a little! I¡¯ll take it from here!¡± Reina level is still low, even though we have farm quite a bit of level 6 and 7 trolls, she still at level 4. By the way I already level up to 6. Though, there¡¯s no new skill unlocked. ¡°Hah! [ Magic Ball ]!¡± With this, I¡¯ll just end it with some chain attack. I just realize this, but when you¡¯re timing your attack and momentum creating a set of chain attack, there is some bonus on damage. I don¡¯t know if the critical chance also increase, but I got a lot of critical damage using this way. For this Giant Troll, hitting it is very easy because of it slow movement. But the problem is our level. It¡¯s too low. Even the damage given from Akai is not high. But we can¡¯t really depend on her attack style. Because she using a heavy weapon, it too slow. The Giant Troll would probably just crushed us when there is opening. That why I ask Reina too attack it little by little. Even though her attack is still low, but her attack speed is the best between us three. Of course I¡¯m comparing it without my cheating skill. She uses a double blade as weapons, though I think knife might suit her better. Not like we can change it now. *Jump* ¡°Hah!¡± I kick the Giant Troll head very hard and follow it up with a horizontal slash. But I¡¯m not going to stop there, so I pierce its left eye. As you guys already read from Chapter 2 until 11, I use a first person perspective to make the narration much more fun and informal. But on Chapter 11, I put another POV to make the readers understand the story better. If possible I am planning to to continue this kind of style in the future.
