《Misadventure of the Goddess of Death》 Prologue : Goddess of Deaths Diary Entry I apologize for any mistakes in my spelling and grammar, English isn''t my main language. I am no professional writer, but I kind of had this urge to write a story, and this story had since long swimming in my mind. SO I decided to post it here. Please give me some feedback, thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Diary, This would probably my first and last entry¡ I would like to write a lot but firstly, I apologize if my writing is kind of hard to read or understand, since the socially awkward me had almost zero social skill. I finally made this diary after pondering for a long, long time. My reason isn¡¯t anything special. I just want someone to remember me, even after I am gone from this world. No, I did not mean it as transferring into another world or something like that, my knowledge wasn¡¯t enough to reach that level yet¡ Yes, I am talking about my death. I could already feels my life force draining away, even when I am writing right now. Oh, I know that this was kind of late, but let me introduce myself. My name is, well, in this world, they called me the ¡°Goddess of Death¡±. No, I am not some kind of deity whose job was to take people¡¯s soul to hell or something, but I did kill a lot, hence the nickname. Some of you might have already heard about my achievement on the past thousand years, but in case you haven¡¯t, then I would write a short summary of my life here. Well, that¡¯s the entire point of me creating this diary anyway¡ Everything began around 1200 years ago, when this ¡®Summoning Hero¡¯ phenomenon became a trend on this world. I myself was also summoned from another world named ¡®Earth¡¯. I could still remembered it vividly, when I was going home from school, all of a sudden a magical circle appeared below me. The 13 year old me back then was so dumbstruck that my only response was to freeze in the spot. Instantly, blinding light covered my vision and I was forced to close my eyes. The instant I opened my eyes once again, what appeared in front of me was a sight entirely different from what was there a moment ago. No people walking on the side road, no blinking traffic lights, no cars nor bikes on the road. Nope, what appeared in front of me was actually a gigantic sized throne room, like those in the medieval castles, completed with it¡¯s king, queen, armored knights, dark robed magician, and so on. I could only muttered ¡°What?¡± dumbly, and the lead magician guy suddenly said in an overbearing tone to me that I was summoned as a hero to fight for their kingdom, against another summoned heroes from another kingdoms and empires, to decide the strongest nation out there. Yes, that¡¯s right, they didn¡¯t summon me because of a great danger or because of some great demon king were wreaking havoc somewhere in the world, but it was for political reason. Obviously, the me back then didn¡¯t know anything about it, and didn¡¯t wish to join their mess. I just wanted to get back home. Sadly, they told me that they didn¡¯t even have the knowledge of spell that could send me back, and even threatened to kill me if I didn¡¯t obey their orders. I will tell you this in case you didn¡¯t know, but every summoned hero would get an additional power ups upon being summoned to this world, which usually improves their already existing power prior being summoned, as in a strong warrior became a very strong warrior, or a very strong magician became a very very strong mage, etc¡ As I was just an ordinary student without any fighting experience, I was given no such power ups. I got a new ability, however, which was now I thought was the most suited and best ability for me. [Blank] ¡ª the ability to learn anything from scratch. That¡¯s right, with that ability, I could learn any magic and martial arts with extraordinary speed. In short, I somehow became a prodigy of a fighter. Still, that doesn¡¯t change the fact that I was just a 13 year old girl. It was actually kind of rare for a summoned hero to not have a special ability when they were summoned, but I guess there is a first for everything. On the day I was summoned, I cried and cried until I had no energy left, and then slept like the dead. Yet the next day, the king and his stupid minions actually ordered me to began my ¡®hero training¡¯! I resisted, of course, but when they once again threatened me, I could only agreed. The ¡®Hero¡¯s War¡¯ would began in 10 years, so they would continuously trains me in that period of time. I could have written in detail about how I undergoes that gruesome torture they called training, but I think my remaining time isn¡¯t enough, so I will just skip that part. As it turns out, as part of the summoning spell¡¯s effect, my body became ageless. And thus, forever a 13 years old girl, I am. I was badly shaken when they first ordered me to kill another human being, and couldn¡¯t sleep for days after that. But I know it wont help my situation, so I kind of steeled myself and closed my heart. Time passed, and in the 3rd year I trained, I could already fought evenly with the kingdom¡¯s strongest magician and warrior. I had absorbed any techniques they gave me, including those so-called forbidden spells. I had became a cold person back then, and would have killed anyone for the sake of my ¡®training¡¯. In the 4th year I trained, I could already mop the floor with the kingdom¡¯s strongest. And that¡¯s when it hit me, since their strongest could no longer became a threat for me, why would I still be afraid of them? The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Immediately, I sets off to the capital city, killing the kingdom¡¯s strongest warrior and mage ¨C my teachers ¨C when they tried to obstruct me, and nuked the royal castle with a forbidden spell ¨C ¡°Meteor Rain¡±, killing the whole population inside, effectively cutting off the royal bloodline and destroyed the kingdom in one night. Since then on, I ran aimlessly while continuously honed my skills. I met with a lot of strong people on the way, and also learned from them. Gradually, I was getting stronger and stronger, until 10 years had passed. At that moment, I felt the same sensation as when I was summoned to this world. Something was pulling me to someplace. I tried to resist, yet it was useless, as the pulling force was too strong. I got forcefully teleported to a barren wasteland, and saw that there are hundreds of people who were also teleported there. There were some familiar faces from the people that gathered there. All of them were strong people. Then it dawned on me, that this was the long awaited Hero¡¯s War. All of them were heroes that was summoned from their own respective world. Of course they were strong! It was unknown as to whom had started it first, but the battle suddenly began. Forbidden spells and bodily techniques with terrifying aura were flying everywhere, sending the battle into a chaotic state. I did what a normal person would did in that kind of situation. I hid and waited until the situation calmed down. With a custom created concealment barrier spell, the spell I created after I observed one concealment spell after another, literally nobody could sense me being there. I watched the battle intently, imprinted the techniques and magic used by the other heroes on my mind, and then began to studied them thoroughly. All the while, with dead bodies on my left and right. The battle goes on for seven days, until there was only one person left other than me. It was a tough looking guy with a golden hair and crazed look on his face. His body was so tall and huge. Blood covered his whole body as he looked around in a confused state. I stealthily approached him from behind with my concealment spell and heard him muttered in a low voice: ¡°Strange, they said that the last survivor would be teleported back, yet¡¡± Ah¡ of course, he wasn¡¯t the last survivor. I decided to shows up and greeted him. With an enhanced ice spear I made by compressing a forbidden level ice magic. Through his heart. He died on the spot with disbelief painted on his face. Not long after, I get teleported back to my previous place. Later, I learned that all of the kingdoms and empires were in uproar, since all the heroes they sent were dead, and no one claimed to be the winner. Since then on, I decided to further improve myself by training, and occasionally destroyed any kingdom or empire I passed. Every 40 years, a new batch of heroes would be summoned from another, and would then fought against each other after 10 years had passed. All the while, I kept doing what I did the best : training, kill the other heroes, and destroyed some kingdoms and empires. Soon, the rumor about the ¡°Goddess of Death¡± began to spread. 500 years since I was transported to this world, the kingdoms and empires had finally been able to track my whereabouts. More than 30 kingdoms and empires in the whole world created an alliance force, led by their summoned heroes, and had decided to organize a crusade against me. The result was as expected. The number of kingdom and empires decreased by around 30 when the whole crusade was over¡ Since then on, no more kingdom nor empire summoned any heroes from another world. My life had became more peaceful then, as I no longer goes around destroying nations. I dedicated my whole life after that to learn space magic, in an attempt to return to my original world. As a result, I was able to teleport in an instant to another place, yet not to another world. I met a dead end. Then all of a sudden, it happened. 1000 years after I was summoned here, I felt something, some kind of force, trying to cut the link between my body and soul. Further research about that unknown force had given me a terrifying, yet an expected result. It was ¡®Death¡¯. Death had come to claims my soul. It was kind of ironic, the girl ¡ªor maybe the granny¡ª nicknamed ¡°Goddess of Death¡± would have at least met her demise. Over years, my body had grown weaker. Now, I couldn¡¯t obliterate a mountain range as easy as it was before. Now, the fang of a dragon could scratch my skin. Haah..... That¡¯s when I decided to create this diary. As of now, I actually had almost no regret in my life. For a human, I had lived too long. Death doesn¡¯t even made me feels afraid or anything. It actually made me curious with what would actually happened after death. Does my consciousness disappeared, just like that? Or would I get reincarnated as a different person in a different world? It doesn¡¯t matter anymore. If there¡¯s one thing I really wished for, is to go back to my original world. I wonder how my family reacted, especially my mother, when she knows that I was actually transported to a different world. I bet she would be sad and cried for days, just like me back then... Oh, that¡¯s right, I wonder if¡ª Chapter 1 : Meeting with the Real Deal Oh, that¡¯s right, I wonder if¡ª wait, what the hell had just happened? My surrounding changed so fast, to the point that I didn¡¯t even get a chance to react. One moment, I was writing on my diary, and in the next moment, I was surrounded by darkness. No matter how hard I tried to see, even while using various advanced enhanced vision technique and magic, I still couldn¡¯t see anything other than the darkness. ¡Don¡¯t tell me, I am already dead? ¡. EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH!? How could this be!? This was just too sudden! Like, I didn¡¯t even felt any pain or anything. It even had the same sensation as a teleportation. No, that¡¯s not the most important point. How could I still be able to uses the magic and techniques I had? Based on my limited knowledge, upon being dead, the soul of a person would leave his or her body to an unknown place. And the body of that person would became a lifeless corpse. The result of my research said, the body of a living creature was needed to act as a conductor for that said living creature¡¯s soul to be able to execute any technique. Even the so called ghost was actually a living soul contained in a specter body, and could be killed through the uses of a certain means. I knew it, because I had personally tested that theory before, while also killing a lot of ghost in the process. Well, my point was, you basically had to have a physical body to be able to use any kind of moves. A body without a soul was basically just a useless and unmoving corpse, and a soul without a body would not be able to remained that long in the living world. If that¡¯s so, then what about my situation right now? Am I actually still alive, but was teleported to this unknown place? I knew perfectly how strong my soul was actually, so I could said with 100% certainty that there should be no living creature capable to forcibly teleporting me to another place without my consent. Or at least that was the case in the world I was living in the past thousand years. When I was busy pondering about my situation, I failed to notice that the darkness around me was gradually lessened. I lifted my head and saw that far ahead, there was some kind of source of light. I tried to focus my sight on that object, but all I could see was a blur. It feels like there was something obstructing my vision. ¡°Might as well¡¡± I muttered under my breath, and began to walk toward that source of light. The closer I get to that source of light, the more I felt that there was definitely something wrong there. I don¡¯t know what exactly was the thing that made me felt like this, but¡ it just feels wrong. Like, it was something that shouldn¡¯t be there. It¡¯s wrong. It shouldn¡¯t even have existed in the first place. It was alive, I could felt it, but at the same time, I felt that it wasn¡¯t a living being. For the first time ever, the emotion that had been laid dormant in my heart for the past hundred of years, was awakened. ¡Fear. Yes, by observing that source of light from quite a distance, I somehow felt afraid. It wasn¡¯t like I lost the ability to fear or whatnot, it was just that in all my life, since I had decided to hunt the other heroes and destroyed a lot of nations, there was absolutely nothing that could made me felt this particular emotion. Even their so called strongest hero was a joke in front of me. When I copied their ultimate technique after watching them once in a battle, their body would have trembled all over the places. With their confidence shattered, killing them was just like taking a candy from a baby. However, this¡ thing, was in a different league. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. I steeled myself and kept walking forward. Slowly yet steady, I was getting closer to the source of light. When the distance between us were only 5 meters left, I could clearly see it¡¯s¡ no, her body. The light actually came from the body of a young woman. She had a long, straight black hair that covered her most of her face, though I could see that thin and unmoving lips of her. She wore a dirty piece of clothes, like those clothes which the beggars on the city streets usually wore. Her body looked so thin, as if she hasn¡¯t eaten anything for a long time. Her skin was so overly pale, it¡¯s blinding my sight¡ or it might have been because of the light she emitted from her body. But what draws my attention the most was, how she was shackled and crucified on this god only knows place. Even so, no matter how unsightly her current appearance was, when I observed her as a whole, she seemed so¡ divine. Is she the one whom had previously made me felt afraid? ¡°Who are you?¡± I tried to ask her. No answer. ¡°Why are you here?¡± I tried to ask again. Still no answer. Somehow, it kind of pisses me off being ignored like that, but maybe she was actually really unable to answer? Maybe she has no more energy to gave a response, what with being shackled and crucified this whole time? I furrowed my brows and moved closer to her. When I raised my hand in an attempt to move the hair that was covering her face, that woman suddenly jerked her head and looked directly at me. My body freezes, and our gazes met with each other. Crap. A sense of impending doom immediately assaulted me, and I couldn¡¯t help but took a few steps back. Her eyes actually looked normal, yet at the same time, it definitely wasn¡¯t normal. That bright, crimson eyes of hers, seemed to have seen through whatever it was that lies within my heart. I felt as if I was naked in front of her, and that no matter how hard I tried, I still wouldn¡¯t be able to hide even a single secret from her. I gritted my teeth and steeled myself. I walked backwards no more. Instead, I returned her gaze intently and began to move closer to her once again. She seemed to have been surprised with my reaction, if those raised eyebrows of hers could be said to be a hint. There seemed to be a hint of amusement on her eyes as she looked at me with a smile. ¡°That was truly unexpected of you,¡± she said. ¡°Wow,¡± her voice sounded so pleasant to hear that I couldn¡¯t help but exclaimed in amazement. She lightly chuckled and said in a gentle tone, ¡°Usually, most people would have been blown back for quite a long distance before stopping, yet not only you took a few steps back, you were actually able to move closer to me. Anyway, I have been waiting for a long time for you to come here, Anastasia Lily, the ¡®Goddess of Death¡¯ from Earth.¡± She knows me!? And not only she knows my name, she also knows my origin! ¡°Who are you?¡± I asked her warily. I had knew it from the start, but this woman wasn¡¯t as simple as she seemed¡ well, her appearance actually couldn¡¯t be called as ¡®simple¡¯, but you know what I meant¡ ¡°Me?¡± she paused for a bit and then smiled at me, ¡°I had many different names, but you may call me as ¡®Lucia¡¯. Coincidentally, we had the same title.¡± Huh? Same title? What title does I have? Wait a minute, don¡¯t tell me¡ ¡°In the multiple worlds that existed in this universe, they called me the ¡®Goddess of Death.¡¯¡± ....................... ¡°THE REAL DEAL!?¡± Chapter 2 : Definitely NOT a Stalker A/N: Sorry if the story isn¡¯t picking up fast, I am still trying to build the foundation. You could say that these few first chapters are a very long prologue. And to be honest, my aim isn¡¯t to make this an action galore, but Lily¡¯s daily life. That¡¯s why I put a slice of life tag. If this was CD, given the chance, Lily would''ve killed Lucia and absorbed her divine spark¡ Anyway, enjoy! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ¡°THE REAL DEAL!?¡± My eyes widened in shock, and I couldn¡¯t help but exclaimed loudly while pointing my finger at Lucia¡¯s face. This sort of coincidence, should have been impossible, right? ¡°Fufu, that¡¯s right. Though I am currently in a weakened state, my strength is actually still more than enough to blow some stuff.¡± Blow some stuff, she said¡ I still have some doubts about this whole situation. I mean, why would a Goddess appeared out of nowhere, and suddenly said that she was waiting for me for a long time? Moreover, why would a Goddess that was said to be the ruler of death had this pitiful appearance? And lastly, do they even exist? It seemed that Lucia had caught on my doubts, but she was neither angry nor upset to me. That kind and gentle smile had never once disappeared from her beautiful face as she was gazing at me. I hesitated for a bit, but then finally I asked her, ¡°Are you real? I mean, is this even real?¡± ¡°Why would you think that this isn¡¯t real?¡± ¡Well, because I thought Gods and Goddesses actually doesn¡¯t exist? Their names frequently appeared in all kind of religion teachings, but there was actually no record of them ever showing personally. All the time, it would be their emissaries that would appear and showed some kind of miracles to the people. At first, I also believed those emissaries¡¯ stories, since what they did was the stuff of legends. But after I was transported to this world¡ well, let¡¯s just say that I could do the same stuff, or even better. And I could personally testify that I had never met a single God. Oh wait, does Lucia counts as one? If she was a real Goddess, I meant. ¡°I am sorry if my words would¡¯ve hurts your feeling but, I don¡¯t know, maybe it was because I have never met with another person that claimed to be a God or a Goddess ¡ªexcept you, Miss Lucia, you¡¯re the first to do that. I have only heard stories about what Their emissaries does, but¡ that was just them using magic, right? ¡°I mean, I could have moved to another place in an instant by using teleportation, parting the sea by using water magic, summoned meteor rain out of thin air, cured sickness with a wave of hand ¡ªI have never tried this one, but I should be able to do it, and the list still goes on¡¡± Lucia smiled and said: ¡°Little Lily, you have no need to use honorific when you¡¯re talking with me, just think of me as an ordinary mortal you¡¯ve met on the side of the road. Anyway, I have watched you all this time, and I definitely knows that you¡¯re not that fond with speaking politely. In fact, it feels weird when you tried to do that.¡± ¡°Oh, okay then.¡± I nodded at her. Surprisingly, she¡¯s pretty easygoing for someone who was supposed to be a Goddess, huh? ¡.. ¡°Wait, what did you just said before? You¡¯ve watched me, all this time?¡± Lucia was silent for a moment, then she began to talk again. However, instead of explaining about what she had just said, she¡ ¡°Gods and Goddesses does exist as a natural part of¡ª¡° ¡°Hey, you¡¯re blatantly ignoring my question now!?¡± This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. Like, what the heck, she shamelessly tried to change the topic after blurting out such important line! ¡°Lily, my dear. Sometimes, you have to let it go¡¡± ¡°What the heck are you talking about!?¡± I spreads out my arms in a frustrated manner. Lucia sighed for a moment, and then her expression turned serious. Somehow, I could feels that the atmosphere was changing. Okay, that¡¯s kind of scary, so stop that. Where has my easygoing-Lucia gone to? Now there¡¯s only a serious-Lucia in front of me. While I was thinking about that, Lucia opened her mouth. ¡°What I am going to tell you is an important matter. This has everything to do with how you were summoned from Earth. But first, there¡¯s something that I want to clarify.¡± Her tone was so serious that I couldn¡¯t help but gulped while I tried to concentrated myself to listen to her words. I don¡¯t want to miss something important because of my carelessness, you know? Yet what came out from her mouth was so different from what I imagine, to the point that I couldn¡¯t even responded in the right way. ¡°¡.I am not a stalker.¡± She said in a serious tone. ¡°Eh? What?¡± ¡°I said, I am not a stalker.¡± She said once again, in an equally serious tone. Then she continues, ¡°The people on the world you were transported to, drew the power of Gods and Goddesses with the means of magic formation. The formation, upon being activated, would then reached out to one of the many Gods and Goddesses in the universe. And then by borrowing their divine power, they were able to summon a person from another world, which is then they would act as a vessel for the divine power of the Gods and Goddesses. ¡°That¡¯s why usually, their power would increase tremendously. In fact, it wasn¡¯t their own power, but the divine power of the Gods and Goddesses. By chance, the kingdom that had summoned you before, forcefully drew my divine power to summon my emissary. Usually, a magic formation like that wouldn¡¯t even be able to hope to reach someone of my level, and could only reach the lower level Gods and Goddesses. However, since I am in a weakened state¡ ¡°The point is, I actually don¡¯t have any emissary.¡± While it¡¯s true that I was shocked at first by her wording, but I kept listening intently. And by connecting the dots, I could have already guessed what would had happened next. ¡°So, since you don¡¯t have one, the magic formation was unable to summon anyone. But it still had to summon someone to be the vessel of your divine power. Because of that, the formation keeps searching for someone to be summoned, and eventually¡ it summoned me?¡± I asked. At that, Lucia nodded. ¡°Indeed, it is so. And since you were summoned with my divine power, you had automatically become my one and only emissary. And since then on, our mind became connected. That¡¯s why I said it before, that I have watched you all this time. I am sorry, but it was unintentional.¡± I see, so it was like that. If she herself was doing that unintentionally, then I shouldn¡¯t blame her. But now I fully understand about how I was summoned to another world, and how I was unable to return to my world. Turns out I need some kind of divine power to do that¡ As I thought of that, Lucia muttered under her breath. It was so quiet that I could barely heard it : ¡°¡¡..*mumble* though that doesn''t meant that I didn''t enjoy it*mumble*¡± ¡°What is it?¡± I asked. ¡°Nothing.¡± She immediately replied in a deadpan voice. Chapter 3 : It Isnt Nice to Offend Your Senior Upon listening to this point, I had some questions that lingered on my mind. After pondering for a moment, I then decided to ask Lucia directly. ¡°I get the point as to how the magic formation summons a hero from another world. Yet the main question is, why? Why would they do such a bothersome thing every 50 years? They said that it was to decide the strongest nation, yet¡ I couldn¡¯t fully believe it.¡± Lucia lets out a wry smile and said, ¡°Aah¡ it¡¯s because the Gods were bored.¡± What? What kind of reasoning was that!? She continued, ¡°Most of the heroes that was summoned to that world was an emissary to a certain God or Goddess, that¡¯s why they had higher power than your usual mortal. Actually, the one who had started it all was a bored God whom had descended upon that world and began to spread that particular summoning formation. The other Gods and Goddesses then learned about that behavior of that particular God, and then began to discuss it together. ¡°As a result, most of them had agreed that it was actually a good trial for their emissary. Originally, the winner of that so-called ¡®Hero¡¯s War¡¯ would have been summoned back to their own respective world by the God or Goddess they served. In a rare chance that the summoned one wasn¡¯t currently serving any Gods nor Goddesses, they would have then offered a chance to be an emissary. Of course, not everyone of us had participated on that silly war, me included.¡± I thought about everything she said in silence. If what she said was true, then¡ ¡°¡Why am I not summoned back?¡± I unintentionally muttered out lout. My words, even I myself had only caught the hidden meaning behind it after a few moments had passed. Indirectly, I had jabbed a weak spot at Lucia¡¯s heart. It was as if I had accused and blamed her for not teleporting me back on my original world. I hurriedly covered my mouth with both of my hands and glanced at her face. Lucia had a gloomy expression on her face, her long eyelashes fluttered softly as she closed her eyes. She murmured to me with a low voice, ¡°I apologize¡¡± Crap, why did I said that? I seriously didn¡¯t mean that! I mean, by looking at her current condition, there ought to be some shady things going on in the background. What kind of force could possibly made a mess of the Goddess of Death herself, to the point that she had that pitiful appearance? She had even admitted that she was in a weakened state. For a few minutes after that, there was only an awkward silence between us. ¡I shouldn¡¯t have said that. ¡°Lucia, I am sorry!¡± I bowed my head deeply in front of her and sincerely asked for forgiveness. ¡°I didn¡¯t mean to hurt your feeling or anything, it¡¯s just¡ ergh, anyway, it¡¯s fine! I didn¡¯t mind about that anymore since long ago.¡± I peered my eyes to observe her reaction. She hasn¡¯t given any response yet, and¡ wait, was that tears? She cried!? I made a friggin Goddess cried! ¡°Awawawa¡.¡± I panicked, and since I didn¡¯t know what should I do in these kind of situation, I could only said whatever it was that was inside of my mind and at the same time, tried to comfort her. ¡°It¡¯s¡ it¡¯s okay, really, I don¡¯t want to go back to my original world anymore. I mean, it has been thousand of years, so I am sure that there was nobody who had remembered me anymore. So it doesn¡¯t matter even if I am not going back there anymore. ¡°Anyway, you¡¯ve also always been helping me, right? Based on your previous explanation, then the power that was running inside of my body was actually given by you, right? So come on, you¡¯ve already helped me a lot, there¡¯s no way I¡¯d blame you. You¡¯d understand, right?¡± Once again, I tried to observe her reaction, only to see that she was still stubbornly bowed her head down, with her eyes closed. ¡.. *SLAP* ¡°Eh!?¡± Lucia jerked her head in surprise. Her jaw opened wide, and so does her eyes too, as she stared at me in disbelief. On her right cheek, a bright red, palm shaped mark could be seen. ¡°You¡ you¡¡± she said, as her body slightly quivered. ¡°Well, stop being such a crybaby, I already forgiv¡ª¡° as I said that, Lucia suddenly cut off my words, and said in an even voice. ¡°You slapped me.¡± ¡°Um, I can explain¡¡± I waved my hand groggily as I tried to distance myself. I felt that the atmosphere was getting dangerous, as an invisible pressure had suddenly appeared and pressed down both my body and soul¡ ¡°You have slapped me.¡± And the next thing I know¡ I woke up? Huh? Since when was I lying on the floor? As I stood back up, I saw the ever smiling Lucia in front of me. My body instinctually shuddered in fear. Wait, what actually happened before? My memory was kind of fuzy¡ ¡°Um, what¡¯s going on? I seemed to have no recollection of what had just happened before, and why am I lying on the floor¡¡± I asked Lucia. She smiled and said, ¡°I am sorry, I kind of lost control of my power. You know, stuff happened when you¡¯re in a weakened state¡¡± ¡Why did I had a feeling that she was hiding something important? Well, it doesn¡¯t matter much, but¡ ¡°Anyway, it has been five days since you had first come here, so I will explain to you about the current state of your body, and as to why I summoned you here.¡± Lucia suddenly said. ¡°Wait, five days? I thought not even 30 minutes had passed since we¡¯ve first talked with each other?¡± ¡°Time flowed differently in this place, my dear.¡± Lucia said. ¡°Okay, I am also curious about my current state¡ Am I actually already dead, or not?¡± ¡°Well, actually, your body and soul are perfectly healthy, and still in the peak condition. In fact, you could still go on for thousand of years...¡± Lucia explained. Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. Huh? Then why do I felt weakened, the more time had passed? She continues, ¡°You must have wondered now as to why you feel that your power seems to have weakened, right? In fact, it wasn¡¯t. Your power stays the same, but my divine power isn¡¯t. I am the one growing weaker. And thus, as the one who had acted as your source of power, me getting weaker was the same as decreasing the amount of power available for you to use. ¡°If this continues without me doing anything, then sooner or later, I would¡¯ve passed away. By then, your power would¡¯ve decreased by around 70%. Though it was still a lot if you compare it with the emissaries of another Gods and Goddesses, but you would have been unable to compete with their boss.¡± I was kind of surprised to hear that, and couldn¡¯t help but ask, ¡°Eh, so God and Goddess could also die? And when you said ¡®their boss¡¯, do you mean the Gods? If so, why would I need to compete with them, anyway?¡± Lucia sighed in a frustrated manner, and then said to me, ¡°Everyone would die if they were to be killed, even me. As for why you need to compete with the other Gods and their emissaries, it had something to do with why I summoned you here.¡± ¡°Why?¡± I asked. Lucia then began to explain, ¡°Call it a desperate measure, if you want. But I wanted to ask you for a favor. But of course, I am not going to force you to accept, and you can refuse if you are not willing to do it. If you refuse, I could send you back to the palace you lived for the last hundred of years, or even to your original world, if you wished for it, by exerting my divine power. ¡°If you accept, however, you will have to face many tough challenges, and even had to do the impossible. You would face countless Gods and their emissaries, where many of them was currently stronger than you and the current me. And in the process, you may lost many important things.¡± ¡¡That¡¯s kind of, err, her wording makes it that she seemed to have wished for me to refuse, yet¡ somehow, I could feel that there was a hint of hope in her voice, a hope that I would have chosen to help her. She then continues, ¡°My request for you, is¡ to help me survive this ordeal, and to regain my power back. I still want to live. Ironic, isn¡¯t it? The so-called ¡®Goddess of Death¡¯ actually doesn¡¯t want to die.¡± A wry smile appeared on her face as she said that. Well, it¡¯s not like I had something to do in my current or previous world. It doesn¡¯t take much of a time for me to made my decision. After all, what was life without a challenge? It was no better than death¡ ¡°I understand. I will help you,¡± I answered with a voice full of confidence. ¡°Really?¡± Lucia¡¯s expression seemed to have changed to a brighter one as she heard my answer. I guess, she really hoped that I would accept, huh? ¡°Un, really. Then, what should I do now?¡± I asked. ¡°Touch my chest.¡± Lucia said. What!? ¡°Um, wait, that came out weird.¡± She said with a bashful expression. Her cheeks and ears reddened as she looked away. Crap, it¡¯s contagious. I could also felt my face getting hotter. Damn her and her wording! ¡°What I meant to say is,¡± Lucia continues, ¡°Reach out your hand and send your magic power by directly touching my chest¡ J-just do it now!¡± I did as I was told and, soft¡ wait, no! Despite my old age, I am still not ready yet for that kind of thing~! As I thought of that, changes happened to Lucia¡¯s body. The light she emitted suddenly intensified, and I couldn¡¯t help but close my eyes. As soon as the light goes off, I opened my eyes once again, but¡ there was no one. Lucia was gone from her previous spot. It was as if she was never been there before. ¡¡ WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED!? As I panicked and ran around while shouting ¡°Lucia, where are you~?¡± a familiar voice suddenly could be heard within my mind. ¡®Calm down, I¡¯m still there, it¡¯s just that you couldn¡¯t see me.¡¯ ¡°Lucia, is that you?¡± I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard the voice. ¡®Yes, it¡¯s me. Currently, I reside in your soul.¡¯ Well, glad to hear that. I was afraid that I did something wrong, and she just be gone forever like that¡ haah. But still, ¡°What should we do now?¡± ¡®Hmm, wait a moment. I will do this¡ and that¡ and, there it is.¡¯ As she said that, a 3 meters hole suddenly appeared in front of me. The inside of the hole was so dark, I could see nothing. ¡°What am I supposed to do? Jump inside?¡± I asked Lucia. ¡®Yes.¡¯ ¡°Uh, this seemed like an entrance to the abyss. Well, here goes nothing.¡± Without hesitating, I jumped inside the hole. Surprisingly, I could only last for 5 seconds before I lost my consciousness¡ _________________________________________________________________________________ A/N : hi, the author here. I just wanted to give my thanks for everyone who has read and rate my story, wrote a comment, and even gave me a positive rep. anyway, this chapter is 2 times longer than my previous one, as i want to wrap up this ''prologue stage'' thing. next chapter would be the start of a new arc, and i would also introduce another character (so far it''s only Lily and Lucy...). If you find any mistakes with the spelling and grammar, please do comment so i would fix it later. Once again, thank you. Chapter 4 : Once Again Here¡¯s the start of a new arc : The Goddess, The Dragon, and The Harbringer of Death! A/N : I''m going to apologize first and thanks everyone who had read and voted in this chapter. after reading all of your comments, i couldn''t help but felt happy, as it had shown that you had actually cared about this story. much to my dismay, romance was always hard for me to understand. yet, by reading your advices, i had come to understand that it couldn''t be forced. as such, i would delete the vote and in the future, let the story develops by itself. thanks for your understanding. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I don¡¯t know how much time has passed since I passed out after I jumped inside that entrance-to-abyss-like hole. When I opened my eyes, I saw that currently, my body was enveloped by a round shaped translucent barrier. The barrier was so complicated that even I had to acknowledge it as a masterpiece. It was far better than the best barrier the current me could have created. As I¡¯ve thought about it, Lucia¡¯s gentle voice could be heard within my mind. ¡®I am sorry, I kind of forgot that a mortal would have actually died when they were exposed to the energy of this chaotic space.¡¯ ¡°Eh, what did you say?¡± I shuddered at her words. What the heck, our adventure had just barely begun and I already had a near death experience¡ ¡®Don¡¯t worry, I had immediately realized my mistake the moment you had lost your unconsciousness, and instantly deployed this barrier to protect you.¡¯ I couldn¡¯t help but rolled my eyes at her explanation. Well, as long as I didn¡¯t die, it was OK for me. But still¡ ¡®Oh, there¡¯s another thing that you should know.¡¯ Her voice once again could be heard within my mind. ¡°What is it?¡± ¡®You don¡¯t need to speak out with your mouth to communicate with me. Since I am one with your soul, and could¡¯ve read your thought just fine.¡¯ I opened my mouth to protest, but then I stopped halfway. Instead, I tried to think of something to test whether Lucia actually had a mind reading ability or not. ¡°¡Then, do tell me what I had on my mind right now.¡± ¡®This¡ I don¡¯t know what to say about this¡¡¯ Lucia answered with an unsure tone. ¡°Ha! So you¡¯re unable to read my mind!¡± I exclaimed in a happy tone. I let out a sigh of relief. I originally thought that from now on, I won¡¯t be able to have a private moment anymore, but it seemed that my fear was groundless after all¡ª ¡®Um¡ You¡¯re thinking about how soft it was when you touched¡ª¡® Okay, stop. I believe in you, but please stop. I don¡¯t want to hear anything about it anymore. ¡®Lily? Lily, are you okay? Why are you crying? It¡¯s okay, everything would be alright. I will always be there for you.¡¯ You know, that¡¯s the thing that made me cry in the first place¡ ''???'' Okay, take a deep breath. One, two, haaaaaaaaa, fuuuuuuuh. Yes, Lucia¡¯s right. Our adventure had just begun, and I shouldn¡¯t be feeling like this. I should¡¯ve cheered up more. Yep. As I thought of that, I began to observe my surrounding. It was no longer as dark as when I peered out from outside of the entrance hole. I could see some small source of light in the far distance, and also some kind of thread, connecting one source of light to another. ¡®Those source of lights are the different worlds that existed within this universe, and those threads connecting them are the pathway. By utilizing the pathway, you could¡¯ve teleported from one world to another world.¡¯ Thanks for the explanation, Lucia. However, I believe you still haven¡¯t explained to me as to why we are wandering in this chaotic space in the first place? ¡®Hmm, we are going to travel from one world to another, with the intention of absorbing the divine power of the God or Goddess that reside within the worlds we visited. By doing that, my power would be gradually recovered, and in turn, your power would have also increased. But of course, they won¡¯t be so kind to give us their divine power willingly.¡¯ Anyway, how do you ¡®absorb¡¯ it? ¡®By killing them, of course.¡¯ She said matter-of-factly. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Ah, that¡¯s an excellent way to obtain what we want indeed. Glad to know that there¡¯s actually someone who had the same mindset. Do you already have a certain target, by the way? ¡®Yes, it won¡¯t be long before we reached the world I had in mind.¡¯ And so, we flew for a few hours or so, until we have reached one of the small¡ wait, those source of light actually wasn¡¯t small at all! It only looked small because I watched it from afar. The size was so big that I couldn¡¯t see the end of it. Well, it¡¯s a world, after all. Then Lucia, how do we get inside? ¡®That¡¯s easy, just search for a weak spot in this world¡¯s surface. From there, it would¡¯ve looked like as if the space is distorted.¡¯ Distorted, hmm? I tried to look around, but was unable to find something that fit the description. When I thought of asking Lucia once again, I discovered that in a place that wasn¡¯t so far away from my current position, there was a small crack. That¡¯s the clue, I guess? I moved closer to that small crack, and suddenly, I could feel such a strong suction force pulling my body inside. As I got pulled closer, I could hear Lucia¡¯s shout inside of my mind: ¡®Lily, watch out, it¡¯s a summoning formation!¡¯ Before I got the chance to react, a blinding light covered my vision, and I could feel that my consciousness was fading. Lucia damnit, how many time must I fell unconscious!? *** Hundreds of people were currently surrounding a glowing magical formation. Most of them wore a weird shaped white robe and mask. If Lily were to see these group of people, she would¡¯ve immediately thought of the Ku Klux Klan. Behind those mask, almost everyone had an excited expression, and some of them were even panting. One of the white robed man stepped forward. His right hand was tightly gripping a fully ornamented magic staff, while a thick black grimoire was floating above his left hand. His mouth, unceasingly moved as he chanted the spell for the summoning ritual. All of a sudden, a huge amount of magical energy surged out from the magical formation. ¡°O Great Goddess of Light, Soluna, please hear our prayer and help us in this perilous era!¡± The white robed man who held a staff raised his hand and shouted out loud. And then¡ ¡°BOOM!¡± All of the people in the surrounding gasped. The center of the magical formation suddenly exploded! Cloud of dusts hindered their vision, but they could still see two blurry figures standing motionless in the center of the formation. The white robed man who had previously chanted the summoning spell narrowed his eyes. As far as he knows, the summoning spell, together with the summoning magic formation, could only enable him to summon one emissary of the Goddess Soluna. Then, who was the other person¡? As the dusts settled off, the two figures could be clearly seen. One of them was a white haired middle aged man. He wore a plain white robe, yet the aura he emanates was anything but ordinary. On his waist was an ornamented long sword that looked imposing. His sharp gazes made the heart of all of the people present trembled in fright. As for the other figure, it was actually a teenage girl, seemingly no older than 15 years old. Long black hair fluttering on her head, with some part of it covered her cute and adorable face. Her skin looked so smooth and pale, yet it only amplified her beautiful looks. At a glance, she seemed like a frail and harmless girl. Gradually, her closed eyes opened, showing a crimson glow, and she coldly watched the people in her surrounding. The young girl was none other than Anastasia Lily, the Goddess of Death from ¡®Earth¡¯. Chapter 5 : First Impression is Always Important A/N : was caught by real life stuff... okay, who am i kidding? i got addicted with a game, so... yeah. Anyway, here''s the next chapter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the blinding light covered my vision, I felt as if my body was being stabbed by countless swords. Not that I am afraid of being stabbed by countless swords or something, mind you, since usually they wouldn¡¯t even be able to scratch my skin. But this time, I felt like I was back on my early days after being summoned to a new world. No super strong body, no endless magic pool, no nothing. Needless to say, this kind of pain was unbearable for me, to say the least. In the back of my mind, I could hear Lucia¡¯s shout which was filled with a hint of panic. ¡®Lily, don¡¯t ever lose your consciousness, even for a moment! Try to stay awake!¡¯ Hey, that¡¯s easy for you to say, but at the moment, I felt like the world around me was spinning and spinning and spinning and¡ Or maybe the one who was continuously spinning was me? Ahh, I don¡¯t know anymore~. If I could, I would¡¯ve puked out right now¡ It was at that time when suddenly, I felt like I heard a loud ¡®crack¡¯ inside of me. The power within me became chaotic as hell, as I felt the bond between me and Lucia in my soul began to loosen. What¡¯s actually happening to me!? As far as I knew, also based on my own memories, summoning ritual shouldn¡¯t even gave you this kind of pain. Lucia, care to enlighten me? ¡®This¡ what you knew about summoning ritual was true, but it was also incomplete. It could only be applied in a normal case. What you¡¯re currently experience right now, however, is something which is vastly different from that. You¡¯re forcefully trying to interrupt and forced yourself to enter a summoning ritual between a God and their emissary, while you yourself is already an emissary of another God. The summoning ritual had deemed you as a foreign object, as such, it tried to eliminate you! ¡®However, as you are connected to me, the summoning ritual was unable to directly eliminate you. And thus, it would have to first sever the bond that had existed between us. Hence, that¡¯s why you feel that our bond had loosened.¡¯ It wasn¡¯t even that long since you had resided within my soul, yet we¡¯ve already faced one tribulation after another! Does the Heaven hate us or something!? ¡®Hey, I told you to search for a distorted space, not a cracked one. You¡¯ve brought this upon yourself!¡¯ AAAAAHHHH! Shut up, at least help me or something, don¡¯t just blame me for this situation damn it! ¡®In fact, I DID help you since the beginning! If it wasn¡¯t for the fact that I had my barrier protecting you, you¡¯d be long dead. Bear with it for a while, and don¡¯t be such a wimp.¡¯ Okay, okay, I got it. Now please, don¡¯t disturb me anymore, I need to concentrate! I kept resisting the force of that summoning formation for quite a long time, until I could see something that resembles a portal in the distance. Far away from my location, a streak of light suddenly appeared from a different direction than me, yet I could see that the streak of light was also going towards that portal-like stuff. Then, Lucia once again spoke within my mind. ¡®Lily, that streak of light was most likely the original emissary that should have been summoned here. Quick, follow it!¡¯ Being told so, I began to focus myself as I willed my body to flew forward at a breathtaking speed. Before long, I had flew side by side with that streak of light, while enduring this intense pain I felt. Together, the both of us entered that portal thingy. *** What greeted me as I opened my eyes was a magnificently built stone temple, supported by tens of stone pillars, with each of them carved with ancient runes. The walls in my surrounding also had murals depicting some kind of Goddess with her followers, battling the force of evil. The overall size of this temple was actually comparable with a football stadium on Earth. Neat, huh? Currently, I was standing on some kind of altar with a glowing formation, which was most likely the damn summoning formation that had forcefully summoned me. On my side, also stood on top of the altar, was a white haired middle aged man. On his waist was an ornamented long sword, probably was just another so-called ¡®holy sword¡¯. Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. ¡®He¡¯s the emissary.¡¯ Lucia said. Duly noted. Surrounding us were hundreds of people¡KKK? No, this was a different world, so it was impossible. But still, their similarities were so¡ Suddenly, I felt something trying to break open the barrier protecting my mind, and couldn¡¯t help but glance at the middle aged man on my side. He was glaring at me, and I could feel some magical energy directed at me. He was probably trying to gauge my power, but his method was so crude that I couldn¡¯t help but frown at his incapability. I could have thought of many different ways which were far better than this one. When he saw me frowning, that middle aged man also frowned. And somehow, I felt that the nearby white robed man with a magic staff and a thick book on his hand also frowned at us. Then, that white robed man stepped forward and kneeled, ¡°Milord, forgive this humble servant, but may I ask, which one of you is the emissary of the Goddess Soluna?¡± The white haired middle aged man harrumphed and said as he pointed at me, ¡°My name is Lode, the Emissary of Her Majesty Goddess Soluna. However, who is this brat and what is she doing there?¡± You know, it¡¯s rude to point at someone¡ ¡°Forgive us, milord, but we also doesn¡¯t know anything about this person,¡± the white robed man, still in a kneeling position, answered respectfully, ¡°As a matter of fact, this person appeared from the summoning formation at the same time as Lord Lode.¡± ¡°From the summoning formation!?¡± That Lode guy¡¯s eyes widened as he turned his head and looked at me. Don¡¯t tell me, he knew about how a foreign entity shouldn¡¯t be able to exist inside of a summoning formation? ¡®Actually,¡¯ Lucia said, ¡®It¡¯s a basic knowledge, and almost every emissaries knew about it.¡¯ Jeez, thank you very much. Oh well, I should introduce myself now. As I willed it, black smokes appeared from within my body and covered the whole stone temple. The weaker people instantly dropped down and lost their consciousness, while those who had more resistance had their bodies trembled and sweats pouring down from every pore of their bodies. I imagine, it was hard for them even for just standing straight. This was a neat skill I learned from one of the summoned heroes, [Domain of Darkness]¡ it truly sounded like something that was made by a middle schooler, but since the effect was truly great, I guess the name doesn¡¯t matter huh? A chilling sensation suddenly could be felt within my right hand, as a heavily enhanced ice sword materialized out of thin air. Same as before, I casted a forbidden level ice magic and compressed it to a weapon. The name of this weapon was¡ [Ice Sword]! I tried my best to smile as gently as possible as I greeted the trembling Emissary on my side, ¡°Hello!¡± A hint of fear, panic, and disbelief, could be clearly seen within his gaze, as I pointed the tip of my [Ice Sword] at him, ¡°Nice to meet you, old man!¡± Oh gosh, it has been so long since the last time I fought against someone, so this was kind of exciting for me. ¡°W-who are you!?¡± he stuttered out. Well, since he already asked for my name, I should gave him an answer, right? A wide grin appeared on my face as I exclaimed cheerfully to him: ¡°Me? I am the Goddess of Death!¡± Chapter 6 : Its Actually You! A/N : Busy worki¡ªokay, playing. Old school games on epsx sure are fun... Anyway, here''s the next chapter. ''Goddess Talking'' ''Emissary Talking'' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Living as an Emissary definitely has it¡¯s own pros and cons. True, you would get an unimaginable amount of power which was usually out of reach, far higher than the standard of the normal mortals. However, you would also have to do whatever it was that your God or Goddess you served asked for you. In some cases, you even had to go to an entirely different world and even fought to the death against Emissaries of another Gods. And that was exactly the thing that happened to Lode today. Lode thought of himself as a fortunate kid. Living his childhood as a lowly servant of some kind of lowlife, he was able to rise to prominence by diligently training in his spare times. Slowly but surely, he began to make a name for himself in the field of cultivation as an exceptionally strong warrior. At the peak of his life, he met someone whom he could call as ¡®Master¡¯, an exalted, legendary swordsman that had thought to be long dead. Coincidentally, this ¡®Master¡¯ of his was an Emissary of the Goddess Soluna. The Master whom should have been long dead was granted immortality by the Goddess to serve her, and as a result, his swordsmanship had increased tremendously. Awed by the power his Master held, Lode himself had then choose to serve the Goddess. From then on, he disappeared from the surface world, and focused himself to train under the tutelage of his Master. One day, his Master was summoned to another world as an Emissary of the Goddess Soluna. He never came back. The Goddess only said that his Master was defeated in some kind of battle royal between Emissaries of many different Gods and Goddesses in a certain world¡ At that time, he thought, ¡®Master isn¡¯t weak. He¡¯s far stronger of a person than me. If he loses, it just means that the opponents are stronger than Master. And by that, it also means that the opponents are even more stronger than me. The universe is boundless, and I don¡¯t know what kind of situation I will face in the future. I need to grow stronger and surpass Master!¡¯ Since then on, he had learned and perfected his Master¡¯s technique, thus reaching a new height which even surpasses that of his Master. As the Goddess¡¯ Emissary, he fought against various Godly Beasts, another Emissaries, and also all kind of strong existence within the universe. In his whole lifetime, he had never been a coward. Always facing his enemies head-on, and never turned his back on them. And yet, facing a little girl that looked so harmless, he¡ he actually trembled in fright! ¡°W-who are you!?¡± the expression of disbelief painted his face as he asked the question which arouse within his heart. It was impossible for an ordinary person to made him trembled in fright, just by looking at her. Moreover, it was supposedly also impossible for a foreign being to exist within a summoning process. Currently, his mind was in a total mess. The young girl grinned widely, with an extremely terrifying sword made of pure ice on her hand, as she steadily approached Lode, ¡°Me? I am the Goddess of Death!¡± The self-proclaimed Goddess of Death suddenly leaped out and thrust out his sword at Lode. Facing the sudden movement, Lode unsheathed his long sword in panic. ¡°Klang!¡± The clashing sound of the iron sword against the ice sword loudly reverberated in the stone temple. A massive shockwave rocked out from the two swords clashing point, turning everything, be it dead or living object ¡ªwith the exception of the two swords and it¡¯s holders¡ª within 10 meters into dust particles. ¡®I-impossible! Such force couldn¡¯t possibly be¡!¡¯ Unable to withstand her blow, Lode¡¯s body got thrown off to a nearby wall. ¡°Crack!¡± The impact was so hard that his body created a man-sized crater in the wall. As he jumped back out from the crater, Lode stared blankly at his right arm. Huge amounts of bloods were dripping down, and the angle was¡ wrong. ¡®Just one exchange, and I am already had a massive disadvantage!¡¯ He glanced at the nearby ¡®Goddess of Death¡¯, hoping that the previous strike was actually being done with the expense of exhausting her full power. His hope immediately shattered, however, as she looked like she wasn¡¯t even sweating or breathing hard. In fact, the grin on her face got even wider, if that was even possible. ¡°Wow, you are actually kind of strong!¡± she exclaimed cheerfully, as if she was looking at a good quality toy. Or maybe¡ ¡®She¡¯s actually really taking me for just a toy,¡¯ Lode gritted his teeth as he thought of that. It was at this moment that suddenly, a clear and gentle voice could be heard within his mind. It was none other than the Goddess Soluna whom had connected to him via the bond of Master-Servant relationship they had. Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. ¡®Lode, what happened?¡¯ The Goddess¡¯ voice had a hint of confusion as she spoke. She knew that there¡¯s something wrong with Lode as she could felt his chaotic emotion and thought within their bond. But she clearly doesn¡¯t think of it as a matter of importance, since she didn¡¯t immediately uses her divine power to connect his vision to hers. ¡®Your Majesty!? There¡¯s some kind of lunatic that''s currently trying to kill me!¡¯ Lode answered telepathically as he once again frantically jumped to avoid an energy blast from the young girl¡¯s casual swipe of her sword. Were he tried to withstand that energy blast, Lode himself was sure that his sword, together with his own body would¡¯ve been cleanly bisected in two. ¡®This kind of conduct isn¡¯t appropriate for someone who had been my Emissary for quite a long time, Lode.¡¯ ¡®But¡ Pardon me, Your Majesty, but I honestly thought that this little girl could¡¯ve killed me instantly if she wished for it!¡¯ The Goddess was silent for a moment, before she once again inquired, ¡®Wait, you¡¯re facing a little girl, you said?¡¯ ¡®Yes.¡¯ ¡®Don¡¯t tell me¡ Say, does she has a pair of red eyes, long black hair that reached her waist, and also uses some kind of weapon made from ice?¡¯ ¡®¡.Yes? Does Your Majesty knows about this person?¡¯ Immediately after, Lode could clearly feel the presence of the Goddess within his mind. His eyes suddenly turned pure white, and the power he emanates strengthened at an astonishing rate. On his back, an illusory form of a golden haired woman appeared out of thin air. The sudden changes made the self-proclaimed Goddess of Death stopped her track and stared at him curiously. She mumbled under her breath, as if she was talking to another person, ¡°I see¡ so anytime this kind of thing happened to my previous opponent, it means that there¡¯s some kind of God or Goddess who had watched our battle, right?¡± Meanwhile, Lode with his newly gained power, prepared himself to attack the little Goddess of Death. When he was almost ready, however¡ ¡®Wait, don¡¯t.¡¯ The Goddess¡¯ voice once again resounded in his mind, telling him to stop. Lode was forced to stop his opening moves as he listened to the Goddess with a confused expression on his face. ¡®¡it¡¯s actually her! But what¡¯s she doing in this world?¡¯ Lode waited for a moment before he asked, ¡®Your Majesty, what should I do now?¡¯ His Goddess clearly knew about this person, and directly attacking her even after the Goddess told him to stop was just inviting trouble. It would be different story if the little girl was to attack first, then he would have been justified even if he were to attack. But currently, the little girl was just staring at him motionlessly. However, the Goddess¡¯ next instruction made him badly startled. ¡®Create a huge explosion to distract her for a moment, then immediately sets off to the outside. You are not to engage in any kind of battle against her. Now, go!¡¯ Lode was unable to understand as to why the Goddess acted like that, nevertheless, he still complied. He raised his sword with both of his hands, channeling the energy within his body to his sword, and then suddenly, he thrust out his sword to the ground below him. A huge explosion instantly erupted with Lode as the center. The little girl made no move whatsoever to defend herself, and just calmly watching the scene with raised eyebrows. The magnificently built stone temple, which had stood for more than a thousand years, collapsed into pieces just like that. Almost at the same time, Lode flies off and tried to flee to the forest outside. However¡ ¡°Shuuu!¡± His body suddenly froze in mid air for a moment, then he landed back on the ground. The illusory form of the Goddess on his back faded out, as he felt his power draining at a fast rate. His chest felt kind weird, as if there was something tugging on it. As he looked down, his already pale face had actually gotten paler. An ice sword was actually sticking out from his chest¡ As the bloods were gushing out from his wound and mouth, he dropped to his knees, panting hard. He could see the blurry figure of the ¡®Goddess of Death¡¯, standing not far away from his current position. As his vision darkened, and his consciousness faded, the last thing he heard was the slight chuckle of the little girl. ¡°Well, you¡¯re slightly above average, at the very least¡¡± Intermission : A Certain... A/N : kind of sort, well... sorry, i''m not sorry. this doesnt count as chapter 7. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sitting atop of a majestic throne, made of crystallized magic power, was a stunningly beautiful woman. She had long and curly blond hair and eyebrows, pale skin as smooth as jade, and deep blue colored eyes with vertical irises. A beautiful tiara, fully adorned with various gems rested above her head. She wore a pale blue dress that boosted her charming appearance. Currently, trails of bloods could be seen on the corner of her frowned mouth as she coldly gazed forward. ¡°Lode¡ and that scoundrel, what is she doing here, in my world?¡± An unsightly expression appeared on her face as she suddenly felt that there was someone intentionally ripping off her divine energy from Lode¡¯s corpse. Yes, this beautiful woman was none other than the Goddess Lode had served for a long time, Soluna. ¡°Some God or Goddess probably sent her here intentionally. As to why, I am not really sure about it, but¡¡± Her body began to emanates an imposing and chilling aura as her expression turned serious, ¡°I cannot let someone who had offended me, in my own world at that, goes unpunished!¡± ¡°Jets, come here. I have a task for you!¡± Soluna glanced at an empty corner of her throne room. Suddenly, the space around that particular corner warped, and a 2 meter tall black hole appeared out of nowhere. Amazingly, a bare naked male youth casually walked out from the inside. Though he wore no clothes, one could see some kind of green colored scales covering the important parts of his body. He glanced at Soluna and snorted coldly. ¡°What, it has been so long since you¡¯ve last called me. And now you only did it because you had a ¡®task¡¯?¡± Soluna smiled as she nonchalantly waved her hand to her counterpart, ¡°You know I was busy this whole time. It¡¯s not like I intentionally avoided you or something.¡± Jets shrugged and said, ¡°Whatever you say then. Now, what kind of task do you have for this one? Why aren¡¯t you using any of your Emissaries, instead of calling me?¡± ¡°I am afraid, other than someone with at least Demigod ranked power, absolutely no one would be able to accomplish this task. In fact, one of my stronger Emissary has been killed just now. You know Lode, right?¡± Soluna huffed. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. ¡°Hm? That old coot is dead?¡± Jets raised his eyebrows at her statement. He knew how powerful Lode was. Amongst the Emissaries, it could be said that there weren¡¯t that many who could have bested him in a fight. ¡°Hn.¡± Soluna nodded, ¡°He didn¡¯t even have a chance to fight back, even with me channeling more divine power to his body.¡± Jets was clearly getting interested in the topic as he inquired with shining eyes, ¡°Do tell me, maybe this time I wouldn¡¯t be so bored anymore.¡± Soluna was silent for a moment before she sighed, ¡°¡¯Goddess of Death¡¯, have you heard of her? No, I am not talking about Lucia.¡± Jets pondered for a moment before he answered, ¡°Other than Lucia, there¡¯s only one creature that was so bold as to take that terrifying title. It¡¯s that young girl from the War of the Emissaries, right?¡± ¡°Currently, she¡¯s in this world. She was somehow able to intercepted a summoning ritual, appearing together with Lode in the summoning site, then she killed him.¡± Soluna said. ¡°What!?¡± Jets stared with disbelief at Soluna. Clearly, he knew how dangerous it was to interrupt a summoning ritual as a foreign entity. ¡°It¡¯s true, I personally saw her before through Lode¡¯s eyes. There must be some God protecting her with their divine power. And I want you to deal with her.¡± Soluna said. ¡°Well,¡± Jets laughed, ¡°I would have approached her anyway if I knew that she¡¯s here, even without you asking me to. Tell me, where is she right now?¡± ¡°Northern Continent, Kartella Forest.¡± A wide grin appeared on Jets¡¯ face, and in the next moment, he disappeared from his previous spot. On the sky, a certain gigantic crimson dragon with the size comparable to a small city was flying toward the North at a breathtaking speed. When he reached the destination, however, he only managed to found the dried up corpse of a certain Emissary. Far away to the south, however, a certain murderer was currently walking leisurely as she enjoyed the scenery of the world.
