《Orders of WILL》 Solha- the start As Jorun gazed at the towers of WILL peaking over the top of the walls of Solha, he admired the play of light between the towers. Coloured a deep royal purple, the light played within his deep Alexandrite coloured eyes. Flicking his long deep auburn hair out of his eyes, he continued walking along the cobble stone road teeming with merchants, peasants and sightseers. As he got closer to the open gates spanning thirty feet, he saw the guards of Solha, dressed in plate mail coloured purple by the journeyman blacksmiths of the academy of Will, wearing long tabards the colour of white, with the emblem of the city, three towers connected by purple lines on a field of red. A long sword, in a gold coloured sheaf, hung on the waist of the three guards conducting random searches. As Jorun neared towards the open gates, he noticed a slightly doughty man sitting on his cart asked to step down. As the man eased folding steps to the floor to help him descend from his cart, a guard asked to search his goods. ¡° Of course my good man, not really much to look at. But it is my lively hood¡± the man replied. Shaking out the creases in his coat and hiking up his belt Jorun noticed him tap his purse hanging on his belt slightly. The guard also saw this and a slight smile appeared on his face. Jorun walked past the two into the city, staring in awe at the wide avenue stretching straight forward. Although he had seen this countless times when he accompanied his father on trips to bring the merchants there latest catch of skins, he still was always dumbfounded by the majestic city rising up around the avenue. Tall buildings for residents of the city, classically decorated, formed the first section. Beyond that was spaces for the various parks where people walked, rested and picnicked. Rising in the middle of the parks where renditions of various animals shooting plumes of water into the sky. The park he could see from where he was walking down the wide avenue was packed with people relaxing in the evening heat, some where sitting on the edge of the massive eagle fountain dressed in marble. Nobles dressed in gaudy finery relaxed on blankets being served there picnic by maids, guarded by hired mercerises. To Jorun this seemed like a recipe for disaster, who would be stupid enough to hire protection from mercenaries Normally he would be correct, however unbeknown to him and many others, was when they signed a contract a WILL practitioner would bind them. Walking along the avenue Jorun, after walking down the avenue for 5 minutes, passed the park into the marketplace from this approach to the city. Looking around at the many stalls operated by the merchants hawking there wares at the throng of people in the massive plaza, Jorun was once again amazed at the things he was seeing. Enclosing the plaza where trees unknown anywhere else, tall trees with a deep blonde colour to there bark. Different shaped leaves following a mind boggling geometric pattern the colour of azure reached for the deep blue of the overarching sky. A deep sense of peace and contentment flooded into Jorun as he stepped within plaza. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.Looking around at the people of various stature within the plaza, Jorun started to walk in a particular direction. On the way he saw stalls selling food, weapons and armour forged by the blacksmiths of WILL, beauty products, various souvenirs, gems, clothes, potions made by the alchemists of WILL. On his way to a certain stall Jorun heard snippets of conversation, many talking about the possibility of war between the city state of Solha and Gal. Others where discussing the merits and prices of the things on display. Still others where speaking of the members of WILL, and what they have done for the betterment of Solha. Jorun heard a snippet of conversation between two nobles, discussing the situation with a rouge WILL user. Although he would have liked to listened further into there conversation, Jorun was however dissuaded from that by the two mercenaries looking at him. From the various things his father had told him Jorun knew this was a bad situation, especially if this rouge WILL user had a strong WILL. He remembered one tale where it took five masters of WILL to take down one, leaving a sphere half a mile where the laws of physics where warped, leaving it uninhabitable. This struck home to him exactly why Will practitioners where so heavily bound by oaths performed by the grandmasters. Jorun finally arrived at the stall he had come to see, manned by a slighty skinny man with lank brown hair framing a face bronzed by the sun. Mellow blue eyes gazed at Jorun from under a thicket of hair half covering his eyes of softly blown by the wind. The man tapped his forehead to the young man in front him, then straightened his jacket. The man was dressed quite normally considering where they where. Dressed in muted brown leather pants, thin yellow cotton shirt open at the neck revealing swirling tribal tattoes. over this he wore a waistcoat decorated with floral embroidery of soft green. (A/N, hey guys, this is my first time writing, not put down much yet, still scared of how im going to do the convos without making it bland and corny. would really like you help with how iv done so far and ways I can improve. don''t really have an idea where im going with this but do have an idea of the history and other things. so please offer constructive criticism) Solha-history ¡° Hello young man, how can I help you?¡± the man asked. Jorun looked at the man and replied ¡° hello sir, my father sent me with a note for you¡± ¡° And youre father would be?¡± the man questioned with a hint of curiousity evident in his voice. ¡° Halron, we live in the forest to the south of here¡±. Jorun handed over the note to the man. As the merchant opened the vellum, his eyes started to widen. ¡°Jorun is it? Its seems youre father would like a delivery of various components for tracking and trapping. Quite the big order as well¡± the merchant questioned the young man in front of him. ¡° Yes sir, there has been a bigger than usual migration this year and we do not have enough components to make the traps. Especially as I have turned 16 two weeks ago sir¡±. As Jorun said this the merchants eyes widened and a small laugh escaped his mouth ¡° Well well well, are you off to the towers of WILL? And yes I can have that delivered to youre father tomorrow.¡± ¡° Thank you sir, and yes I am. Thank you for helping us sir¡± Jorun replied handing over the purse from inside of his brown leather jacket. Jorun nodded to the merchant and started of towards the three looming towers in the middle of the city. Jorun''s feet took over from his mind as he started to think of what would happen if he managed to display his WILL. Not much is known about what happens when someone is enrolled into the order. He knew there were 3 levels within the order, although that sometimes is incorrect. Depending upon the situation, an initiate can match the will of a master. On a day to day basis the weakest are the initiates, they generally get assigned to city maintenance helping the architects and the sewage system. The next level are the journeyman, they are usually assigned to either the tower of smiths, alchemy or warrior depending upon there talents. Next up are the masters. Not much is known about these powerful individuals, what is known however is that they consider themselves to be makers. The trees surrounding the plaza''s are one example. Willed into being through a process known only to masters of the order, these trees radiate a sense of peace and contentment, insuring there will be no crime of any sort, and fair trade within the plaza. The next level is grandmaster, only one piece of information is known to the general populace, that is they bind members of the order with oaths unbreakable. An initiate can affect reality in small ways, journeyman can bend and shape the very fabric of reality, masters however are a whole other breed. They can take reality and create things. History is littered with tales of war, powerful artefacts, practitioners who have bent and shaped the very fabric of the land under there power. For thousands upon thousands of years WILL users used to plagued the land, until the war of five. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. As Joruns feet continued on there journey, his mind was lost to the past. Not much has survived from that time, what is known however is that a group of fifteen of the strongest WILL users, capable of completely stopping the massive and inevitable flow of time within there bodies banded together. During this time there was no law, only the strong ruled and did as they pleased. Altering the climate, raising mountains regardless of the people in the way. Creating weapons that could level city¡¯s, creating artefacts to alter creatures into mindless or intelligent beast depending upon there mood at the time. Some even created beast''s of colossal power through sheer force of WILL. However for all the bad, there was still good. Artefacts that could heal any wound, even lost limbs, artefacts that could teleport people and goods between city¡¯s. But the bad far outweighed the good, this group saw that and decided to end the free reign of WILL users. They went to war with all the major powers of that time, eventually winning although only five survived. After winning the long war, the last five survivors Malkk, Tolv, Shirhel, Solha and Dregla held a summit. They came to many decision during that summit. There needed to be a regulation on WILL users, something to bind them so they can be controlled. They also decided to find and destroy all artefacts and weapons created during that time. Also they decided to gather up all of the surviving users into the centre of the continent. They picked one hundred users each to start an Order in each of there territories thereby controlling all the users that would be born in the future. After they came to those decisions they argued over what the land should be like, the weather, crops and even the skin tone of the people. After a long argument and discussion they decided they all should have whatever they wanted. Although the one bone of contention between them was the skin tone of the people. They rightly thought that there will always be hatred between races, shown to be true by history. After another long discussion they decided that all people should have the same skin tone, all the land masses should be bound into one mega-continent,and that there lands would be separated by walls as a symbol of there sovereignty. It is unknown how they managed to accomplish these truly unfathomable feats, but all people now have skin the colour of gold, there is only one landmass bisected by five huge walls. And in the middle where the walls meet is a city where all trade between the different country¡¯s is held once a year, derelict once finished. As these thoughts finished Jorun looked up at the three towers.
