《Anarchy》 Prologue: Summoned to another world? Are you serious? Hi everyone, this is my first attempt at writing something here. I''m writing this story because of how fed-up I''ve been recently over the similarities in all the light novels I''ve been reading. As I''m pretty sure I''m not as good as I would like to think I am, please feel free to leave any and all constructive criticisms and feedback. I''ll do my best to improve! Without further ado, I present to you, the prologue for Anarchy! Prologue: ~~~~~~~~~~ Leo woke to the ringing of his cell. Wincing due to the glare of the bright afternoon sun, he fished out his phone from under his pillow. The time was 3pm. Still dazed, he checked the messages he''d been receiving since 10 in the morning. All of them were from Gale, the person he liked to think of as his best friend. 10am : Dude wake up 11am : Are you coming today? 12pm : Bro, at least reply my messages 2pm : why do I even bother 3pm : Just drop me a text if you''re still coming Fuck, I screwed up, thought Leo as he slapped his forehead. Glancing at the time, and at the girl who was still sound asleep beside him, he sighed. He sent Gale a text saying he was already on his way, and tried to wake up the sleeping girl. What was her name? Jasmine? Jess? I can''t remember. thinking such rude thoughts, he nudged her shoulders. At this moment, he heard a buzzing sound so loud that it hurt. It was followed by a flash of pure white light. So bright that he had no choice but to cover his eyes lest he go blind. "Arghhhhhhh" groaning, he tried turning away from the light. But he couldn''t. No matter how he twisted and turned, the light was there, as though it was perpetually in front of his eyes. And just as suddenly as it came, the light, along with the buzz, disappeared. Leo slowly opened his eyes, and what he saw, he couldn''t explain. By all rights, he should still be in his room. But in front of his eyes, was a room that was painted black. Everything was so black, it looked as though the concept of light didn''t exist. But seeing as how clearly he could see the objects, he came to the conclusion that it wasn''t dark. Everything was just painted black. "What bad taste." "Whose taste are you calling bad?!" A woman''s voice retorted. Turning around, he saw a woman, in her early 20s, wearing a jet black dress that looked as thought it was woven from the night itself. Her face seemed to be the very definition of beauty. Raven hair that fell to her waist, skin so pale it seemed to glow in this black room. A figure so slender, yet so well-proportioned, he couldn''t believe she was real. "Looks just like a painting, no, a Goddess would be a more apt description" he mumbled. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. "Fufufu I thought you were just a rude kid, but it seems you can appreciate true beauty can''t you?" She said, as she showed him a smile so bewitching his heart couldn''t help but skip a beat. This must be a hallucination, he thought, might as well enjoy it. It would be a crime not to have fun with a beauty. Standing up, he walked towards the lovely woman, and leaned in so close their lips almost touched. Breathing in her lovely lavender scent, he whispered softly," Mlady, I''m sorry for saying something rude just now, wouldn''t you find it in your heart to forgive me? After all, someone as beautiful as you shouldn''t have anything on your pretty face other than a smile. I''m Leo, I believe I haven''t heard your name?" Her face reddening, she couldn''t do anything but mumble "Asha" Leo lightly brushed his lips against her cheek and again softly whispered into her ear, "Mlady Asha, there''s no need to be shy or embarrassed. I''ll be gentle with you. I promise." He then pressed his lips against hers. All resistance of hers melted and she began to return his caress, and his kisses. Ahhhh this is definitely heaven, Leo thought as he enjoyed the sensation of her lips against his, even if this is just a hallucination, it feels so damn real. As Leo was about to go further, the white light flashed before his eyes again, accompanied by that loud buzzing. As he fell to his knees, the startled Asha looked as though she had just remembered something important. "Shit, I completely forgot to give you an explanation! I got so carried away! There''s no time, to say anything now, when you get to the other world, your friend will explain everything to you. I''ll do what I can on my side to help you. A-a-and from now on you''re mine! Don''t ------------" The buzz drowned out the rest of what Asha said. Leo was confused, but he couldn''t speak, couldn''t retort. The buzz and the light became unbearable, and he blacked out. ------------ "Fuck!" Leo screamed the moment he opened his eyes. Disoriented, he looked around. It seems the hallucination now is a forest. "Well, I''d be better off just lying here and waiting for this hallucination to pass, and then hopefully I''ll either wake up or see Asha a--------" Before he could finish his own sentence, someone threw a rock that hit his head with complete accuracy. Glancing at the direction it came from, Leo saw someone stepping out of the thickets, dragging something bloody on the ground. As he stepped closer, Leo could finally see he face. "Gale?!" Chapter 1: A (Clearer) Perspective and the Cheats Chapter 1: A (Clearer) Perspective Gale''s POV While walking back to where his friend lay, Gale recalled what had happened to him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He was waiting for Leo, as usual, when he was struck by the blinding light and loud buzz. And when he opened his eyes, he was in a room of pure white. Standing in the center of said room, was a dazzling blonde beauty, dressed in a white toga while carrying a stack of files, and staring at Gale as though appraising him. "You don''t seem too surprised? Usually people would demand an explanation for suddenly being called here." "Well, you seemed to be waiting for me, so I assumed you''d start explaining things. Me shooting off my mouth would probably be a hindrance to that. And if anything, my ability to keep calm is the most critical part of my job after all." "Good good, then this''ll make things so much simpler. Here I was, thinking it was going to be such a pain." Saying those words, she snapped her fingers, and two chairs appeared. "Sit down, it''s going to take a while to explain, probably all the time that I have with you will be spent on the explanation." Taking a seat, Gale gestured her to continue. "Well, so you''ve probably read stories in your world about people being summoned into other worlds to become heroes and defend humanity right? Your situation is somewhat similar to that. I''m Elize, the Goddess of Light in the other world that you''re being summoned to. Well, to be honest, it''s not you who''s being summoned, but your buddy Leo. See, how the system works is, every time a hero is summoned, my sister Asha and I take turns picking the people to be summoned. It just so happens to be her turn now, and she insisted on picking your friend no matter what. But knowing her, she''s bound to get too caught up with your friend and skip all the explanations. So, even though it was a huge pain, I dragged you along with Leo to be summoned together." "Wait! That''s too irresponsible?! Couldn''t you have just explained it to Leo?!" "That''s a pain too. I mean, if I did that, I''d have to leave this room. No way in hell is that worth the trouble." "Are you really a Goddess?!" "I am you know, even if I never leave this room, I still properly do my work you know." Pointing to the stack of files that she was holding, Elize continued, "I mean, look at these! These are my next 300 choices of people to be summoned! I went through all the trouble of picking them out (at random), so I don''t have any work for the next 600 summons." "IS THAT OKAY?! YOU DIDN''T EVEN READ THROUGH THESE PROFILES AND JUST DRAGGED THEM OUT AT RANDOM?!" Gale retorted, slapping his forehead. "WHAT IF THEY TURN OUT TO BE CRIMINALS?! Wait, judging by your personality, you wouldn''t go out of your way to do any extra work, so why did you summon me together with Leo?" "Ahhhhhh. Erm. Hmmm. That''s..... That''s because the previous person I summoned kinda, sorta turned into the Demon Lord, so our boss is mad at us, and if we fail this time, I have to be sent to the world to personally fix everything you know?" Elize stuck her tongue out. This woman might be really cute, but her personality is the worst. Gale thought. "And so, what are we supposed to accomplish in that world? Eliminate the demon lord?" "Yup! You got the gist of it! That''s great! Looks like I don''t need to explain anything anymore. Okay~ Let me send you down now~" "Wai------" Gale couldn''t even finish his sentence before being assaulted by the buzz and blinding light. "Oh right, I''ll just give you some cheat abilities. But it''s a chore to ask you for what you want, so I''ll decide for you okay~? You can check everything once you''re down there by saying ~" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gale woke up in an unknown forest. That fucking Goddess. I hope Leo at least got a better explanation than me. Gale checked to see if his body was fine, and discovered that his clothes had been replaced with a pair of white pants, a white shirt and a white jacket. Why is everything white?! He wanted to retort. Looking around, he saw the unconscious body of his friend. Leo was lying about 20 meters away from him, wearing nothing but a pair of leather pants. Gale looked at him and sighed. Leo''s left chest and shoulder was covered by tattoos. Crowns, crosses, anchors.... A seemingly random assortment of objects, but Gale knew better. Each object signified a different thing. They were there as a reminder of all the people he''d been unable to save, all the people that he''d been forced to kill, and most importantly, all the people that had died in his place. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Honestly, when Gale heard that Leo was summoned to this world, he was happy that his friend finally had a chance to leave the previous world which was so unkind to him behind. Looking at the scars that covered the rest of Leo''s body, Gale compared it with his. Even though we both had the same job..... The number of scars on Gale''s body was considerably lesser. He gingerly touched the scar on his right shoulder, Deciding that he at least needed more information, Gale decided to check the cheats that the Goddess had given him, "Status!" Before his eyes, a screen appeared. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name : Gale Reilly Age : 22 Gender: Male Strength : 2000 Intelligence : 1800 Dexterity : 1500 Vitality : 2200 Luck : 1000 Skills: Appraisal Photokinesis Healing Elemental Mastery Light Boost Improved Recovery Speedcasting Improved Magical Recovery Goddess of Light''s Blessing Goddess of Light''s Protection Peak Physical Conditioning Equipment: Goddess of Light''s Jacket Goddess of Light''s Shirt Goddess of Light''s Pants Goddess of Light''s Boots Goddess of Light''s Gauntlets Items: Holy Sword of Light Titles: Hero of the Light Pain in the Ass The Man Who Understands ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gale groaned. What kind of half-assed status is this?! It doesn''t even explain anything! AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TITLES?! And why does everything have to do with light? IT''S TOO FLASHY Looking at Leo, he saw Leo''s body being covered by a dark light. If I''m light, then I guess he''d be darkness? Ah whatever, let''s just wait for him to wake up. ------------------------------- An hour later, Leo still hadn''t woken up. The dark light covering Leo''s body had changed into jet-black clothes. Occasionally, the clothes would shine, as though something had happened, and Leo would stir. But he still didn''t wake. As much as I''m worried, it looks like it''ll be dark soon. The first priority would be food. Then shelter. Thinking that, Gale headed into the forest. Wandering around for half an hour, he found an animal laying down under a giant tree. " !" ---------------------- Snow Boar LV 6 A magical beast that is rarely found. It''s meat is said to be delicious. But due to its highly aggressive nature, not many people are able to hunt it. ------------------------- Gale took a deep breath, and prepared himself to hunt and kill the Snow Boar. I have no idea how to use any of my skills, so the only option would be to kill it with the holy sword? Thinking that, he wondered how on earth was he going to equip the sword, when, in a brilliant flash of light, it appeared in his hand. So it appears just by me thinking about it? Alright, let''s get used to the feeling of swinging the sword before engaging. Gale gingerly lifted the sword, and lightly swung it towards the Snow Boar, to loosen up his body and to visualize how he would engage the beast. What happened next, was something he could never have imagined. As he lightly swung the sword, a ray of light extended from the tip of the sword, and cut everything in its path. Everything in the 50 meters between him and the Snow Boar was cut. Boulders, trees, grass, everything. When he had finished the swing, the head of the Snow Boar was flying through air, leaving a bloodied and headless corpse where it laid. What the fuck kind of cheat is this? If I had swung this in the middle of a town, I think there''d be nothing left of it! DAMN YOU ELIZE, HOW CAN YOU SO NONCHALANTLY GIVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS AWAY? Cursing the Goddess in his mind, Gale began walking towards the corpse to drag it back to where his friend still lay unconscious. --------------------------------------- "FUCKKKKK" Gale heard Leo''s voice. Fearing the worse, he dragged the corpse and broke into a run. Leo had woken up, and he lay in the same spot, murmuring something about a hallucination. Irritated, Gale picked up a rock and threw it splendidly at his friend''s head, before walking out into the open. Leo stared at him dumbfounded, before letting out an exclamation. "Gale?!" Chapter 2: A Template Situation? Chapter 2: A Template Situation? Leo looked at his best friend, dumbfounded, then burst out into laughter. "What''s up with your clothes? Are you trying to cosplay Prince Charming or something?! Bahahahaha" Gale looked him dead in the eye and said, "Before laughing at me, maybe you should take a look at yourself? Or perhaps you''re trying to cosplay as a Sith Lord?" Looking down at his clothes, Leo sighed and muttered, "Seriously, what kind of bad taste is this?" "So? What did your Goddess tell you?" "Goddess?" "You know. The girl you were talking to in the weird room?" "SHE''S A GODDESS?!" "Seriously? You weren''t told anything? What did the two of you even talk about?" "We didn''t? Ehheheh I thought she was kind of pretty, so without thinking, I ended up making out with her? The next thing I knew, I was here." Gale couldn''t help but sigh at his womanizer of a friend. Dropping the corpse of the Snow Boar, he walked towards Leo and punched him in the shoulder. "To think you actually made out with a girl you didn''t even know. I honestly don''t know whether I should praise you, or punch you." "I''ll take the former, thanks! Or rather, didn''t you already punch me?! So, wait. You''re telling me I''m not hallucinating? I was sure it was the hangover." Gale sighed and brought his friend up to speed... ----------------------------------------------------- "Wow, your Goddess is a real bitch huh." "Tell me about it. Anyway, confirm your status. We need to come up with a plan of action." "Status!" ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Leo Bradley Lv: 10 Age : 22 Gender: Male Strength : 9000 Intelligence: 9000 Dexterity : 9000 Vitality : 9000 Luck ; 9000 Skills: Goddess Level Appraisal Umbrakinesis Dark Boost Shadow Manipulation Dark Elemental Mastery Goddess of Darkness'' Blessing Goddess of Darkness'' Protection Goddess of Darkness'' Love Stealth Intimidation Unarmed Combat Weapon Combat Death Resistance Mental Debuff Resistance Physical Debuff Resistance Poison Resistance All Element Resistance Equipment: Goddess of Darkness'' Handmade Jacket Goddess of Darkness'' Handmade Shirt Goddess of Darkness'' Handmade Pants Goddess of Darkness'' Handmade Gloves Goddess of Darkness'' Handmade Boots Goddess of Darkness'' Engagement Ring Items: Goddess of Darkness'' Creation Block Letter from Asha Gold: 50,000,000 Titles: Dark Hero The Man Loved by the Goddess Goddess of Darkness'' Fianc¨¦ Godlike Existence ---------------------------------------------- Focusing on his stats, Leo heard Asha''s voice in his head. At level 10, a normal person''s stats for strength would be around 250. "Aren''t I a cheat character in that case? What is up with these skills?! AND WHO THE FUCK IS THE FIANC¨¦ OF WHOM?!" "What''s wrong?" Sighing, Leo showed Gale his status screen. "HAHAHAHAH SEEMS LIKE YOUR GODDESS IS MORE TROUBLESOME THAN MINE! SERVES YOU RIGHT! AND WAIT. WHY DOES YOUR STATUS SCREEN LOOK SO MUCH MORE ORGANIZED THAN MINE?! AND WHY ARE ALL YOUR STATS 9000?! THAT''S TOO MUCH OF A CHEAT!" "Well whatever. We should figure out what the skills we have do, then work out a plan from there. Since I''m such a cheat, let''s get this done as soon as possible, then return home. The----" Before Leo could finish, a scream pierced the air of the forest. "Ahhhhhhhhhhh" Leo glanced at Gale, and said, "That scream sounded like it came from a beautiful lady. Let''s go! It''ll be a crime to let a woman suffer so." "ARE WOMEN ALL YOU THINK ABOUT?" "No? I think about food, alcohol and sleep too you know. It''s just that women, especially the pretty ones, have the highest priority to me." Saying that, Leo got to his feet and ran towards the direction of the scream. Sighing, Gale followed behind. Although Gale had no reservations about helping someone in need, he was exasperated at his friend''s motivation for doing so. "Seriously..." ----------------------------------------------------- As Leo neared where the scream came from, he confirmed the sight of 8 men surrounding a woman. Behind the men, lay a carriage toppled on its side, with four armored corpses surrounding it. Sure enough, true to his expectations, the woman being surrounded was a beauty, with shoulder length platinum blonde hair, bright blue eyes that shone like sapphire, and a body that would put most models to shame. The men were approaching her while snickering. "Lass, we''ve got orders not to harm you if possible. So just come with us quietly, and before we hand you over, we''ll be sure to make you feel like you''re in heaven." The one who seemed like the leader of the men shouted. Leo looked at him in disgust. He was a burly man with wild hair and a beard that looked like they haven''t been washed in years. In his arm, he was carrying a gigantic mace. Dressed in rags and leather, he epitomized the image of a savage. His subordinates were dressed in roughly the same attire. But rather than maces, they were all wielding rusty short swords. Confirming their positions, Leo was about to jump in when Gale finally caught up. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. "What''s. The. Plan." Gale asked, panting in between words. "You stay back. Catch your breath. I''ll take this chance to go in and work up a sweat." ------------------------------------------------------ Sophia wanted to cry. She wanted to scream for help, but she knew no one would come. Her guards had all been taken out by the leader of the bandits in the blink of an eye, and while trying to escape, she was surrounded by his subordinates. She had suggested going through the forest rather than continue on the open highway precisely to avoid bandits. But the moment the leader had spoken, she knew she had been naive. They were aiming for her. Working under the orders of some unknown individual. She lamented her naivety. Abandoning all hope of salvation, she closed her eyes. At least let me survive this so I can take revenge.. She expected to feel the leader''s hand on her at any moment, and she clenched her fists. But, that dreadful touch never came. "It''s not nice of you to surround such a lovely lady and ruin her pretty face with a look of fear y''know? If she''s so scared of you, you''re obviously doing something wrong. Learn to take a hint." Sophia heard an unknown voice speak. She didn''t know who it was, but all she knew was that it was an incredibly gentle voice. Taking a peak, she saw a man, dressed in jet black clothes standing between her and the leader. He was looking at the bandit troupe with disinterest. Noticing her peeking at him, the man softly spoke, "Don''t worry mlady, I''ll take of these men who are bothering you." Sophia swore she felt her heart skip a beat. ------------------------------------------------------ Leo looked at the men in front of him in disgust. He had jumped in between the girl and the leader in a flash. The bandit troupe couldn''t even follow his movement. No one had realized when he had come in between them. The basics of fighting against an enemy that outnumbers you are simple: break their fighting spirit. This can be achieved in two ways, take out the strongest fighter of the group instantly, or take out the weakest fighter of the group. In this situation, Leo chose the former. Taking a step forward, he directed a punch at the leader''s solar plexus, just as he was about to order his men. The leader crumpled instantly. Leo then delivered a heel drop kick on the base of the leader''s skull. *Krakkkkk* A disgusting sound was heard, and the ground was stained with blood and gray matter. Amongst the bandits, chaos ensued. Screaming out of fear, they swung their swords at Leo wildly. No one thought about running. In the face of an enemy that took out their boss in two hits, they couldn''t afford to run. Dropping low to the ground, Leo swept at the ankles of the bandit closest to him., destroying his balance. As the bandit fell towards the ground, Leo lashed out with a splendid kick that connected with his windpipe, crushing it. Grabbing the bandit''s sword, he threw it straight ahead and watched it pierce the chest of the bandit coming at him from the front. Turning around, he slapped the wrist of bandit trying to backstab him, causing the sword to be stabbed into the ground instead. Grabbing the bandit''s shoulders, Leo casually pushed him into the path of a slash that was aimed at Leo''s neck. Dropping the bandit''s body, he grabbed the wrist of the bandit that had tried to slash at his neck, and pulled him close, as though to give him a hug. As the bandit fell forward, Leo drove his palm into the bandit''s nose with such force that the cartilage was sent all the way into his brain, killing him instantly. Rushing forward while keeping his body low, he grabbed another bandit by the wrist and flipped him. As the bandit landed on his back with an *oomph*, Leo grabbed his arm and impaled the bandit with his own sword. Turning around, he took a half step to his left and avoided an overhead blow. He reached out, grabbed the back of the bandit''s head with his left hand, and pulled it towards himself. At the same time, he used his right palm to again, drive the bandit''s nose into his brain. It was his favorite move in combat. Feeling happy about executing his favorite move perfectly, he realized too late that there was still one bandit left. Turning around, he barely avoided the short sword the last bandit had thrown at his face. His vision blocked for a second, he lost sight of the last bandit. Searching for him, Leo found the bandit running away at full speed. "Tsk. I let one get away. Oh well; at least the girl is safe." But the next moment, something inexplicable happened. With a thunderous *boom*, a jet black bolt of lightning dropped from the heavens and struck the bandit, killing him instantly. And yet, before his corpse hit the ground, another bolt of lightning struck it. Again and again, the corpse was struck by that jet black lightning, until nothing was left but ashes. Leo could have sworn her heard Asha''s voice saying," HOW DARE YOU ALMOST SCRATCH HIM. YOU FILTH. DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE" as the lightning continuously struck the corpse. But he just chalked it up to his imagination.
