《Dark Avenger: Flames of Hatred》
Prologue: This world we call Terra.
Rumbling sounds of stones being squished together are everywhere...
Debris of rocks rained from above..
The rocks whom was floating clockwise has begun to crumble...
In this darkness where light doesn''t even pierce through..
There exist one source of light...
It illuminated the area as it traversed through the air...
The small orb of light pressed itself to move, but was trapped between the rocks.
It wavered left and right, as if its consciousness was being dyed in white..
As its light faded.
A golden ray of light pierced through the darkness..
It showered the small orb of light and restored its previous vigor, Bathed with holy element. The small orb of light broke through the rocks and pressed itself towards the tunnel of light.
It dodged the hail of rocks, one by one until it finally reached the end of the light..
[This is it...]
[I''ll return...]
The golden light shadowed over the small orb of blue light, and the two lights dissipated to nothingness.
The scorching heat of the sun pierced through the inhabitable land. The sands were circling up in the air as it was being carried by the hot winds delivered by the air. The barren land spread further to an endless wasteland.
A small circle of light appeared in the middle of this barren land. It gave off a light of its own and illuminated the lifeless visage of the desert.
The small circle of light grew intense until it finally broke unto a pillar of light.
It became so intense that the light radiated from the circle, circulated through the unfruitful land and formed cracks of blue light.
The pillar of light momentarily wavered, and dissipated into thin air. As if it didn''t exist in the first place.
On the wake of the sudden bursts of holy energy. On the center of the what was before, a small circle, was a small orb of light.
The light it gave off also grew intense and illuminated the surrounding barren land. It was overshadowed by a pale blue light before forming into what seems to be a figure of a human being, before dissipating unto the heated air.
What appeared on its wake was a young boy.
His appearance was an average for a child on his age . His looks was also average, but his height was particularly shorter than the normal one. That if we measure his height. He would be four inches lower than the average height of a child on his age.His face are symmetrical that gives off a vague feeling of handsomeness.
His outfit was very different from the normal outfit of a Drasilian. That''s because he was always bathed by darkness. Not his physical body, but his soul.
He wore an outfit in semblance with a gown. The gown is dyed in black color, and was very weird of an outfit for a Drasilian.
But that is not the case.
This young boy was just reborn.
He didn''t knew what''s in trend or what''s not.
He didn''t seem to care about it as he stretched his body outward.
The young boy advanced forward towards the endless wasteland.
He didn''t pay heed to the scorching heat earlier, but he was now in a dizzy state...
"Might as well rest..." The young boy instinctively said as he seated himself down on the barren land.
But it was still the same...
Standing or seating, He still felt dizzy.

His throat dried up, and his eyes murky.
As his consciousness was being dyed in white, A loud sound of the ground crashing echoed across the whistling wind.
"!" The young boy stood up in response to this sudden interruption.
"That''s?!"
The young boy turned his head to the source of the sound, and found a hybrid serpent with a resemblance to a hydra.
"Sand Hydra?!"
"Why is it here?"
"Worst, Its a Rank S."
The young boy dusted himself as he classified the Sand Hydra by levels.
"But still."
The young boy''s poker face turned into a smirk, and said.
"It''s still no match for an avenger like me."
He stepped - No... He vanished into thin air.
Momentarily after that, He instantly reappeared near the Sand Hydra''s wake. And the Hydra who noticed the sudden intruder, turned its gaze to the young boy and opened its wide mouth.
"Hmmphh.."
The young boy punched the Sand Hydra with all of his might and the Sand Hydra cried in response to the sudden excruciating pain. But its not just the Sand Hydra. The young boy also cried in pain as his previous attack was reflected to a degree making his fist flare in pain.
The Sand Hydra''s mouth emanated a small sheen of blue, As an orb of energy condensed between it.
"Ray atta-? " The young bot didn''t even finish his speech as the Sand Hydra threw the condensed ray of light towards him.
[Mirror of Yata]
The young boy stretched his hand outwards, and a huge ominous mirror appeared.
It radiated an eerie aura giving off a feeling of dread to those nearby it.
"You''ll die by yourself!"
The young boy shouted as the ray of light thrown by the Sand Hydra was absorbed by the [Mirror of Yata]. A green light shadowed over the mirror as a huge condensed orb of energy formed between the ridged of the mirror.
It flew across the scorching wind, and the Sand Hydra formed a ball curl as a defensive response.
But it was not enough.
The degree of the returned power was just intense that the Sand Hydra disintegrated to ashes.
This was the power of the returned power by the [Mirror of Yata]
The ability to return an unfriendly attack with five times its normal power.
The Sand Hydra turned to ashes as the returned ray of light pierced through the surroundings causing a large boom around the mirror.
"Ahh... So noisy..." The young boy said in a monotone voice as he covered his ears in response to the loud rummaging explosion.
After a few blink of an eyes. The ray of light finally calmed and the [Mirror of Yata] was retracted.
What was left behind was a fifty meter deep crater spanning several meters across the barren land.
The young boy smirked as he approached the edge of the crater and said.
"It was too much i guess.." He rubbed his hands together, as if dusting it, and turned his back from the crater..
"Now what should i d-" The young boy felt the sudden dizziness again, but this time. Instead of falling unto the ground.
He fell into the crater.
[Oh.. Snap... ]
{Well... Shit happens..]

Chapter 1: What a long day to start.
PART 1:
The scorching heat of the sun penetrated through the curtains of the carriages treading through this desert called Tutankhum''s Desert. The rolling wheels of the carriages was slowly stopping and everyone inside the carriages are starting to head outside.
"What a sunny day."
A man with golden eyes and violet hair came out from one of the carriages and jumped down to the ground while saying his daily sentiment. Though a desert was commonly hot, This day was particularly hotter than the previous days. As for the reason. No one knows why.
All the passengers of the caravan immediately got off, Almost all of them carried a small wooden basket with snacks and beverages inside them. One of the passengers approached Viktor who was still staring at the sunny sky with his hands on top of him and said.
"Viktor.. "
Viktor who was suddenly mentioned, shuddered and immediately turned back to the source of the voice.
"Oh.. Leila.."
"Osu..!"
What greeted him with a wave was a woman with green eyes, In the continent of Terra. Women with eyes like these were considered to be very valuable due to their great affinity towards the wind element, and so. It was very rare to see the sights of these green eyes, and what''s more from a woman, Since men with green eyes was a particularly normal sight to see.
The woman stood and bent his hips a little while waving and Viktor who was now in a blank state of mind due to him imagining his life with Leila.
The figures he was imagining was him with Leila, and his two children playing joyfully in the house, and Leila bringing the dishes in while saying "Here''s your breakfast darling..." Viktor''s eyes were filled with a glint of lust while imagining the curvaceous body of Leila laying on his bed.
"VIKTOR!"
A rummaging sound echoed towards the scorching heat of the desert, and everyone who heard it turned back to find the source of such thunderous voice.
"Ahhh..."
And Viktor who finally snapped from his dreams, realized that Leila was standing in front of him wielding a pierce gaze of what seemed like anger.
"S-sorry!"
Viktor frantically clasped his hands together and bowed while repeatedly saying "Sorry" to Leila who was now assuming a neutral pose.
"It''s okay already.. I''m just here to deliver some beverages, and also!"
Viktor quivered by the sudden high pitched sound that came from her.
Just as he was thinking about possibilities of what''s gonna happen to him.
A loud explosion followed by a pillar of light, and a rummaging shockwave descended towards the calm desert, disrupting its previous calm manor.
"Wh-what is that?!"
Everyone who turned back to find the source of the sudden thunderous explosion. Saw the intense light and frantically asked each other as to what was it, and where it came from.
The intense pillar of light raged for about ten seconds or so. After a few blink of an eyes. It finally dissipated into smoke and to nothingness.
The radiance that the pillar emitted was changed by the previous daylight. The blue sky''s visage has finally shown itself.
"Slackers!"
A loud deafening shout shook all the astounded spectators and made them turn to find the source of the shout. And as expected, It was their master Bodin "The Caravan Master" As to how did he got this title, no one knows how.
"Stop daydreaming! Let''s go already! We need to go back before sunset or else.."
Bodin spoke in a dreaded tone, and everyone including Viktor already knew what would happen if they wouldn''t be able to reach the next nearest town which is Drasilia before sunset.
The sands which were very calm in daylight would quake and awaken the monstrous adversities hiding in this vast barren lands.
Myriads of monsters like Sand Hydra, Wolf Kindred, and the deadliest monster in the desert called Kalag would venture to the outside world to find preys, and if their caravan would happen to be seen. The next instance can already be predicted.
The spectators still stood steadfast. They didn''t respond to their master''s command. Instead, they fixated their gaze to the rising smoke not very far from their vicinity.
Bodin who had the appearance of a plump man and a particularly short stature. Sneered and bellowed once more.
"Are you going or not?! "
"Y-yes!"
This time, Everyone who heard him bellow once again responded in a pressed manner, and immediately retracted their blankets that was placed on the ground to prevent the scorching heat on reaching their bums.
"Let''s hurry, Viktor."
Leila also hurried up and took all the withdrawn beverages and snacks and immediately jammed them into the wooden basket and stood up.
Viktor was still in a starry state as he watched the smoke vanish and rise from the place where the pillar of light previously exploded.
"VIktor!"
What returned his mind to reality was a pressing shout.
"Ye-yes!"
Viktor stood up and in that instance, took all the withdrawn things and placed them back in their backpacks and immediately jumped inside the carriage.
But Viktor still couldn''t shake off this particular feeling. It was like he was being drawn by something mysterious telling him to go to that place.
The carriages their caravan has numbered three. With three slaves and three carriers on board. All of them numbered to six people which was riding in each carriage.
Almost all of them still in a daydreaming state as they watched the rising smoke dissipate to nothingness.
"Hey.."
A small preaching voice broke the silent stupor between the people inside the last carriage. This was the carriage where Viktor and Leila was.
The one who spoke was the second lady in the carriage. [Rubis].
All of them except Rubis repeatedly blinked and turned their attention to her.
Rubis, which was in the middle of the pierce tug of war of gazes, broke the game and stated.
"What do you think is the cause of that?"
"I don''t know, I was also wondering."
The first person who replied was Viktor, who was still daydreaming as to what was the true reason for that pierce explosion which aimed to shake the heavens.
"I think I have an idea.."
Leila also responded in a catching tone, which made all of the spectators turn their gazes to Leila.
"What is it?"
Viktor asked as he picked one of the apples in the wooden basket and carved his mouth unto it.
"Maybe some sort of Sand Hydras... Just maybe!"
Since she was doubtful about her theory. She raised her voice and replied in a high pitched tone to emphasize the word "Maybe" which signifies that she wasn''t sure about the true reason about it.
"That''s impossible. Hydra''s are nocturnal creatures, They can''t be awake in broad daylight." The third person who replied was a stury built man named Jones. He was their merchant carrier, which carries all the heavy objects and places them to the place where their supposed to be. Because of this particular job. Jones body was honed to a mascular one.
"That''s also a possibility.." Rubis'' soft tone resounded across the silent carriage and all of them fell into deep thinking.
Though this desert was a desert so deadly that it was known to be "The Desert of Tombs" due to the vast people falling into the hands of monsters or even die of dehydration while travelling on these barren land. Which stretched up to unknown far, and borders not even known to man kind.
But they still traversed here. Knowing the dangers. Their master Bodin, chose this area of travelling just because it has the nearest shortcut to the nearest town Drasilia.
"Why not look into it myself." Viktor''s monotone voice resounded and made everyone who heard his ridiculous remark turn to him and asked.
"Are you looking to die?!" Almost all of them said it the same time.
Well that''s because It''s very obvious. Just travelling on this lifeless land would cause death in mere hours when you''re alone. Plus, the danger of Sand Hydra''s and burrowers suddenly resurfacing and claiming your head would increase the mortality rate of the traveler. Truly worth the name "The Desert of Tombs".
All of them said it at the same time but Viktor''s visage still hasn''t changed. His face was that of a veteran warrior, Ready to die just for the sake of their city. It was enough conviction to drive them to swallow their own saliva.
All of them gulped at the same time, All except Leila and Viktor.
"Are you really going there?" Leila broke the silent stupor and said.
"Yes, but I don''t know why.. It''s just.. This feeling.. I can''t shake it off.." Viktor said in a reluctant tone.
"If you''re planning to go there then take me with you."
"Huh?!" Hearing Leila''s comment. Viktor unconsciously raised his voice.
"Am I not useful? I''m a wind element healer and I maybe able to help you go there faster." Leila revealed a teary mirthful smile.
"I don''t know why you''re doing this, but please stop. "
With that, Viktor stood up and crouched near the carriage entrance.
"See ya.." With a wave, Viktor jumped from the carriage and ran towards the opposite direction.
"Viktor!" Leila shouted, and just as she was about to follow him. A loud shout echoed from behind that made all of them inside shudder.
"What the hell is happening there?!"
It was the shout of their master. "Bodin"
"N-nothing! We''re just startled by a cockroach" The one who replied was Jones.
"Hah.. Getting startled by cockroaches. What a pussy."
"I''m really sorry for the inconvenience." Jone''s tone had a hint of apology in it and slowly seated himself down, while clutching the now teary Leila reaching her hands towards the now nowhere to be seen Viktor.
"It''s okay, Leila. I know he would return. "
Jone''s said in a soft tone, but it still wasn''t able to calm Leila down.
After a few moments of confrontations. Leila finally calmed herself down and spoke.
"Take care you damn Idiot.. Viktor.."
PART 2:
The vibrant prickly wind howled across the nearby surroundings. The fifty meter deep crater that was formed when he reflected the Sand Hydra''s attack was still in a static state.
Electric current charges were nearby and sent visible lightning marks across the fifty meter crater. Though the electric statics were small, It still reeks of danger since using a spell in the wrong element would cause the surrounding charges to discharge and create an after explosion.
He couldn''t risk on doing that so he slowly stood up and found himself in the middle of the crater.
The crater was deep but it was not impossible to climb up. The surrounding ground were steep but it was very possible to climb back up to escape this huge crater.
So the young boy dusted himself off as he clutched his flaring head and touched something similar as liquid. The only thing that differentiated it from liquid was because it was sticky.
The young boy looked at his hands that was clutching the pained head, and as expected. Blood was found. His head was bleeding but there was no danger of any further internal damage as his regeneration ability as an Avenger was enough to prevent anymore serious hemorrhage.
"Ughh.." The young boy cried in a low voice as he watched the bright sky outside, He turned his head side by side and scanned the surroundings.
Though it was day. The light from the sun didn''t reach the place the boy was and was filled with darkness. He couldn''t see anything within the crater but was able to ascertain one thing.
He was alone inside this place. There were no breathing signatures and there were no signs of foreign life inside.
The young boy closed his eyes and said in a low voice.
"[Fly]"
A low level levitation spell activated and the boy soared around the crater and scanned the surroundings. He stared back at the bright sky and proceeded towards it to escape the darkness of the crater.
Or so that''s what''s supposed to happen.
But the expected spell didn''t activate and the boy''s command to the elements was withered in vain. His words dissipated into nothingness as his eyes widened when he reached a conclusion. " His spell didn''t work" This was the first time he experienced this anomaly.
Before he was reincarnated. The young boy was a great magician worthy to be called "Elements Prodigy" Because of his excellent skills and utilization of any elements mentioned in the elements table. He was crowned as the best magician in the continent.
Because of his extreme talents. He neither felt loss nor anomaly in casting any magics, But this time he failed. He failed to cast a spell. What''s more, a low leveled one.
"[Fly]"
The young boy again whispered to the darkness around him, but still.
His spell still didn''t work.
"[Move]!"
He whispered again, This time desperately. But it''s still the same. He repeated this exchange of spell invocations until he finally reached a conclusion.
Somehow, His spells have been sealed. He didn''t knew what happened, and the last time he remembered something was the time he defeated that Rank SS Sand Hydra by using [Mirror of Yata] to deflect it and how did he fell to the crater below, and that''s it... Black out..
The young boy blinked his eyes, and gulped as he accepted his fate. He will need to use his physical strength as a child to escape the darkness of this crater.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
If he would''ve been a normal person. He would''ve given up and sat down until he die.
But this time it''s different. He was still newly reborn, and the time to die was not this time. He didn''t want to die yet. He didn''t want to think that the first thing that would happen to his life as an [Avenger] the thing that he dreamed on happening would be to die.
"Ughh.." The young boy slowly carved his way out of the crater.
Little by little....
This steps were little but filled with determination..
Slowly..
Step by step...
He took steps forward until his newly created body got tired...
After escaping the hell of that Sacred Place... He didn''t expect that he would be in this peril...
His steps were heavy...
Like a man walking towards his executioner.
The scorching heat of the sun finally bathed the young boy, and he fell down the second he came out from the crater.
Mental exhaustion, physical exhaustion and thirstiness combined to make him almost lost his consciousness.
"Hahh.. Hahh... hahh..." He was ragged as hell, but he didn''t paid heed to it. The only thing that mattered was he was now out of that damned crater.
And then he felt it.
A life signature that resembled a human approaching him. He tried to look into it, but his exhausted body wouldn''t let him move nor even lift his finger.
The visage of a man wearing a casual desert clothing, and carrying a small backpack approached him.
"Are you okay kid?"
That''s the last thing, the young boy heard from the mysterious man as his consciousness was once again dyed in white.
PART 3:
The enlivening sight of the city filled the passengers inside the city with vigor, They finally reached the town that they were looking to go to. The town of Drasilia.
The structure of the town was a walled city. It was guarded with different runes of Anti-Evil and Anti-Monsters runes that served as a protector for the city. Long time ago when these mechanisms were still not in place. This now lively town was once called as "Silent City" It was filled with remorseful monsters and undeads that harbored extreme hatred for the living, and caused the nearby people to immediately evacuate themselves to protect their lives.
But since the innermost capital of the continent called Cartelis replied by placing Rank SSS anti-evil and anti-monsters protective runes, and drove the monsters and undeads inside the town to death. The peace returned to this prosperous city and was once again called "Butterfly of the Sands".
The form of the town''s houses can be considered as the same as German styled Castles, With pointed roofs and multi inclined roofs, and extremely wide areas for recreation. The town itself was similar to a walled castle city.
"Fellas! We''ve arrived! Ready the same measures as last time, and let''s bail out!" Bodin filled with enthusiasm jumped out from his carriage and shouted as such.
The passengers immediately got off and at the same time noticed that Viktor Haines was missing. Thanks to Leila''s group intervention. The other slaves didn''t talked much about it and just pretended that no one disappeared.
The team arrived at noon, of which in real time would be 11 o''clock PHT+8. The scorching heat of the sun was still there as they placed their stalls near the city wall.
The slaves then proceeded to place their merchants on the ground adorned with carpets and neatly arranged the merchandise as a lively Bodin watched.
"Good.. Good... Good... " Bodin led a small smile as he commended the slaves for their fascinating works.
Their noon was filled with happiness and Bodin didn''t even took notice that one of his slaves were missing, until.
"Head count!"
It was now evening. It was now time for the slave headcount and food giving. All of the slaves counted themselves in a steadfast attitude and all of them replied with enthusiasm except Leila, who was still worried about her friend Viktor.
[You Idiot.. Why did you do that... Come back please..] Leila pleaded herself to calm down as he worries over Viktor, and noticed the fixated gazes towards her.
She didn''t noticed that she still didn''t replied in the headcount and shouted.
"Fifteen!" Leila shouted in a particularly high pitched tone, which made everyone in the room laugh.
"What the hell are you doing? Leila? Are you daydreaming of the food that we will be eating today? " With Jone''s comment. Everybody in the same room laughed except for Bodin who was irritated by Leila''s late reply.
"Ughh.. Shut up.." Bodin snickered and diverted his gaze to the next slave.
The Headcount continued until it reached Viktor''s turn.
But Viktor''s not there.
Because of this, Bodin''s temper soared up high and made him shout.
"Where''s Viktor?!"
"Did that wretched bastard escaped?!"
Bodin was filled with such anger that his cheeks were red. He diverted his gaze one by one to the counted slaves and when he finally reached Leila he said.
"Leila! Since you''re Viktor''s close friend here.. Why don''t you tell me where he is?! "
Leila who was suddenly named shuddered, and beaded sweat formed unto her forehead, But he shook of such thoughts about Viktor''s premise since she noticed that she still hadn''t given Bodin a reply.
Leila gulped a mouthful of saliva, unto her was like a poison, It seemingly made her nervousness soar up the roof, and when she finally understood that she wouldn''t be able to escape this premise, She shook of her fears and said.
"S-Sir! Vi-Viktor is searching for an important connection for us to have here in th-this city!"
Bodin''s face was now filled with curiosity. As if his previous anger didn''t exist in the first place.
"Connection, Huh..."
Bodin''s head nodded over and over as he understood the importance of obtaining connections as early as possible. That''s because, Receiving support from a merchant association the earliest from the other caravans would warrant them the best interest, and profit as much as possible.
Which means that his profit would potentially skyrocket if Viktor would be successful in acquiring connections. They would be exempted from additional city payments, and maybe even given discounts for the tax pays.
"I see.. I see.. "
Leila''s previously mirthful visage returned as she breathed a sigh of relief. She understood that she managed to trick her master into believing that Viktor was trying to find connections throughout the town, Though she felt relieved. Her heart immediately sunk as she heard her master''s next sentiment.
"When did he said that he would return? I wouldn''t permit it if he would stay outside for two days! "
This time, Leila''s forehead begun to form beaded sweats. Her once mirthful visage was once again turned into a pale one.
"Leila.. Are you okay? Are you sick or something."
Leila understood what her master had said, but ignored it since she was still focusing all of her mental power into thinking a new approach in answering her master''s question.
If only she knew when would Viktor return, She would be able to answer this question immediately. But since she did, She hesitated to say so, But she immediately replied unto what''s on her mind since the fixated gazes of the other slaves were now brimming with hatred.
They hated Leila, since she made Viktor escape. Leila didn''t understood why do they harbor such hatred for Viktor. As for the reason, Leila thought of it, but was once again resurfaced by a small toned voice.
"Didn''t you hear me? Perhaps I need to say it again.." Bodin''s tone had a hint of mocking in it. It gave off a feeling that Bodin knew what had happened from the start. This attitude of Bodin agitated Leila''s nervousness and was once more plunged into the abyss of thinking.
"Where is Viktor? " Bodin said in a monotone voice.
Leila still hasn''t given her reply yet and racked her brain to find the most suitable reply to deceive her master, But the next reply made any approach to deceive impossible.
"Did he perhaps.. Escape?"
As Leila expected, Bodin got the thread of the truth, and since Leila didn''t reply, Bodin''s previously calm visage immediately turned red and howled.
"THAT UNGRATEFUL MOTHERFUCKER! THE NERVE OF HIM TO ESCAPE ME! I''M THE ONE WHO BOUGHT HIM AND I SHOULD''VE BEEN HIS LIFE AND DEATH! HE CAN''T DIE WHEN I TOLD HIM TO! AND HE CAN''T ESCAPE WHILE I''M STILL ALIVE!" Bodin took a huge breath and made his lungs bloated, and once again shouted.
"IF THAT MOTHERFUCKER EVER RETURNS HERE WITH NOTHING, I WOULD EXECUTE HIM MYSELF, AND YOU LEILA! YOU''RE INCLUDED! SINCE YOU FUCKING LIED TO ME, YOU''LL BE INCLUDED TOO!" With this, Bodin''s face returned to it''s normal vigor, As if the calm after the storm.
"Hushhh.." Bodin calmed himself down, but again stared with killing intent to Leila, who was now having a pale face.
"Prepare your self! If you''re not to be executed, You''ll be sold as a prostitute! And well.. You''ve that gorgeous figure, and I expect that you''ll be an expensive merchandise." With this, Bodin finally left the room and forcefully shut the door.
The already knew that their master was a ruthless one, But they still didn''t expect that his attitude would go down this far.
Leila cried in a childish manner, As she hoped that her expectations wouldn''t happen. Hoping that her best friend would be okay.
"WAHHH!!!!" Tears and at the same time, Mucus from her nose, poured down her face as she stumbled down the wooden floor of the room.
Almost all of the slaves wielded sympathy towards Leila, and hoped that Viktor would return to protect her.
"VIKTOR!!!" Leila shouted unto the ceiling as her cries intensified.
PART 4:
The scorching heat of the sands radiated across the surroundings. It was the worst time of the day to travel on desert lands. What''s more donned with his only desert clothing.
"This heat.. Noontime." Viktor gauged by the intense heat that it was now noontime, This particular time of the day was the hottest one, Temperatures would soar up to 10 degrees up and would intensify one''s thirstiness for water. But Viktor didn''t even took a sip from his two water bottles.
Since the time he jumped from the carriage which was 9''oclock, until now noontime. He didn''t even took a sip of water. That''s because he planned to ration it.
His goal right now was to reach that crater. He didn''t know why would he try to accomplish such dangerous feats. His body just wanted to know what''s inside that crater.
"Woahh..."
Viktor finally caught a clear sight of the crater, and saw it''s huge area, Which made him unconsciously led out a sound of amazement.
"Thirty meters deep? No- Fifty meters?"
"Just what kind of thing blasted that ground?!" Viktor gauged the deepness of the crater and wondered as to what kind of damage the crater suffered before turning into such depths.
"What is that?"
Viktor caught a sight of a person, It had the visage of a small child donning a black gown. What''s strange is he was near the immediate vicinity of the crater.
Viktor immediately ran across the barren land, towards the vicinity of the small child. When he reached the area where the child was, He immediately checked him for any signs of life and sighed in relief as he ascertained that the child was still alive.
"This kid.. " Viktor carried the light kid with his two arms before him and watched the visage of the child.
Viktor shook his head as he thought of "How cute" this child was and thought.
{No.. no... no.. This kid may be a shapeshifter, or a revenant, I must not be careful. ] Viktor immediately thought of the kinds of beasts that can change their figure of that of a human for a brief amount of time.
Just as Viktor took a step forward, He remembered something.
[Ahh!! The Cleansing Water!] The Cleansing Water was a water, A normal water with special attributes of cleansing. If this child was a monster as he expected. He would react to the Cleansing Water and would transform to his normal shape.
But his expectations were not met, and he sighed in relief.
{Thank God, this child was not a revenant. If he would''ve been, I would''ve already died.] Viktor sighed in relief as he knew that even him a Rank B Mercenary would not be able to defeat a Rank S Revenant nor a Shapeshifter, Since a Rank B without any battle items and magic tools, would be like a baby trying to walk by itself.
"But why would this human child be here without anybody? Did this child got lost or something?" Just as Viktor was about to take a step forward. A loud explosion before him uncovered and raised his alert level towards the roof.
"As expected! Cleansing Water would also attract these bastards!" Three Sand Hydra''s with Ranks D, appeared before him.
Defeating three Hydra''s with his own weapon right now would be difficult but this doesn''t mean that it''s impossible to do.
The Sand Hydras opened their horrendous mouths and burrowed through the sand.
Viktor replied by placing the child behind him and unsheathing his small knife.
"Come!" The Sand swell as the Sand Hydra swum into it. Viktor braced himself for the incoming attack and prepared his signature shocking spell. [Statik Shiv]
His Statik Shiv finished charging and Viktor shouted to the still swimming Hydras.
"Come out.. Come out.. Wherever you are!!"
END CHAPTER 1: What a long day to start.
This thread we call.. Destiny
Chapter 2: This dreamy world.
The Sand Hydra''s trace of burrowing was noticeable. The sand swelled as they swum their advance towards Viktor who was now bracing for the attacks of the three Rank D Hydras.
After a few blink of an eyes. The Sand Hydras finally showed its horrendous visage. With its mouth opened to instantly swallow Viktor whole. Viktor immediately braced a middle stance with his [Statik Shiv] crackling with lightning.
This was the sign that his occasional passive spell [Statik Shiv] was now finished charging.
The Sand Hydras immediately lunged forth towards Viktor, and Viktor tumbled a small steps backwards and made the three unintelligent hydras struck each other with their own attacks.
Viktor couldn''t suppress his imminent laughter and proceeded to hack the Sand Hydras away with his charged [Statik Shiv].
The small knife easily penetrated the hardened scales of the Sand Hydras. Because his knife was embued with the earth element. Making it durable and penetrative.
After Viktor penetrated the Sand Hydras one by one by using a downward stab. He immediately backed himself and stabbed his small knife upwards and howled.
"Release!"
With Viktor''s bellow. A small crackling of light descended towards the water element based Sand Hydras.
And as expected. Because of the law of element opposition. The lightning element was stronger than the water element. Immediately electrocutied the three Sand Hydra''s which fell unto the barren land lifelessly.
"Hah... Hah... Serves you right."
Viktor''s ragged voice again echoed towards the environment. The previous fight made his thirstiness and physical tiredness even kicked up a notch.
The scorching heat of the sun intensified since noontime. Now. With an unspecified time of the day. The heat slightly was slightly reduced for about three celcius, But was still scorching hot.
"Hah... Hah... Hah..."
Viktor''s ragged voice echoed around the scorching barren land, and the ticking of the dripping water moisturized the lifeless land on which it fell into.
Viktor''s physical capabilities was already pushed to the limits, and carrying a child with him was forcing his ragged body furthermore to the realm of tiredness.
"Ten kilometers more..."
Viktor gasped and pushed his knees to take one more step. His water reservoir was already emptied out, Even so. He shook it unto his mouth to pinch even just one more drop of water.
His water reservoir was supposed to be two water bottles, and his backpack''s contents were two water bottles and two Sakrytia Sandwiches. Both for his personal consumption. But since he was carrying this mysterious boy. He was very careful not to induce him to heatstroke, and occasionally made him drunk water.
The result was very obvious. Due to the sharing of water. Viktor''s water reservoir was halved. Since his personal average consumption of water for just travelling in the desert in a sedentary form would cause him to drink about one and a half bottles. He was now very tired.
His throat still had its small moisture of saliva of which is the only boundary between the thin line of unconsciousness and consciousness. Viktor was now dangling on this thread. Slowly drifting to the line of unconsciousness.
Even so he walked... Viktor walked in a determined manner... He didn''t stop just to take a rest. He knew that he was very near to his objective. The town of Drasilia.
The sizzling heat of the sun was slowly being reduced by a number of degrees celcius as the sun pressed its pace on hiding from the visages of the townspeople.
The current time could be called as late afternoon. Or [Hapon] on Drasilian terms. The prickling feeling of the sun was now cooler than noontime, and people were now noticeably packing.
As if they''re in a hurry. People are pressing themselves to swiftly clean their outside merchandises, and barricaded themselves unto their stony homes.
Even the Slave Merchant "Bodin" couldn''t hold his worries and immediately ordered the sedentary slaves to pressingly clean the outside merchandises as soon as possible.
This town called Drasilia was an enlivening town at day. But it becomes very dangerous at night. The main reason was Sand Hydras, Paralyzing Snakes, Soul Sucker, and other monstrous adversities becomes highly active at night. Even the knights stationed at the city gates were frantically moving around, and ordering those lower than their ranks to close the city gates, and prevent any entries from foreigners until dawn.
Some knights activated anti evil magic tools and anti monsters magic tools, and even stationed monks with a pillar like formation just to erect a very powerful barrier to prevent those with evil affinity or darkness affinity in their reins.
One of the stationed monks called "The Immovable" because of his impenetrable defenses was even called just to erect a strong barrier for this particular night. This night was the night of the haunted. The night where the veil is the thinness.
The Veil which borders the great flow of darkness and light from the human realm. Where unimaginable evil was residing.
This man called Sarkysia "The Immovable" couldn''t even hold his fears as he stationed his most powerful barrier. He had hoped into himself that nothing out of place will happen.
Or so that''s his expectations.
But there was something out there.
There was something moving amidst the vast span of darkness. Where the light from their artificial tools couldn''t even reach.
Sarkysia pinched his eyes together and focused his eyesight towards the mysterious embodiment. It had the figure of a human, But he couldn''t be sure. He couldn''t let his guard down to use a lighting spell. That''s because in this continent. There exist creatures that could shape themselves into that of a human.
Say for example a [Revenant] a monster that is commonly active at anytime of the day. They targets lonely adventurers and pose as a beautiful woman in need. And when the adventurers helps them. The last figure that they would see was their head flying across the land. [Revenant] was that sneaky of a monster.
Beaded sweats formed around Sarkysia as the enigmatic creature moved itself towards the walled city. Even though its movements were slow. It was still approaching the city in a constant manner.
Sarkysia once again pinched his eyes together and fixated his gaze towards the creature.
[Weird... If that''s a monster, It would be jumping around and crazily approach the city in a fast paced manner. But... This one is not. It''s like a bow being pulled outwards. Slowly but surely... It will hit the target... Damn it!]
Sarkysia realized once more that he still couldn''t let his guard down and cancel the erecting barrier.
[Should I call for reinforcements? No... That would be time consuming. If I cancel this erecting barrier, who knows what would that monster do!]
Sarkysia already fixed his mindset that it was a monster. There was nothing more as an explanation. Drasilia was a town lively at day but ferocious at night. So there were no cases of people visiting, or even traveling near the vicinity of this town at night. That''s the reason why Sarkysia highly doubt the case of this moving enigma as a human.
[I''ll take care of this myself! I can''t let that monster enter here!]
Sarkysia placed a small thumbs up figurine near the city wall''s edge and brought small parch of papers from his monk uniform.
"Talisman of Lightning!"
Sarkysia thrusted the talisman glowing in a blue sheen of light towards the never ending darkness. And as a response. A medium sized crackling of light forced itself from the talisman and advanced towards the pressing adversity.
Sarkysia once again pinched his together and observed the arc of lightning''s advance towards the enigmatic creature. But just as it was about to hit the monster. It was deflected towards the nearby ground, and dissipated to nothingness.
"!"
Sarkysia''s alert level was raised towards the roof and he focused his mental strength into deducing the potential strength of this walking wretched creature.
[Since my Rank B offensive spell was deflected... This monster must be.. Rank A? No.... Rank S?! Damn it! I should call for reinforcements.]
Sarkysia deduced from his personal experience the rank of the current enigmatic monster walking towards the walled city. Just as he deduced the numbers. Sarkysia hated the fact that he couldn''t do anything about this fiend. Sarkysia was a Rank SS in defenses, But ranked B at offensive. That''s the reason why Sarkysia could only use defensive spells when defeating adversaries.
That''s the reason why he was named as "The Immovable" He was immovable at the battlefield, Since he would just wait for his enemy to attack, and reflecting their attacks was the only reason why he could win. He wanted to attack the enemy but he couldn''t. His offensive capabilities was just not enough to fell this current enemy.
The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Just as Sarkysia was preparing to cast his levitation spell. The enigmatic creature fell unto the cold lifeless ground and failed to move.
[What the?...] Sarkysia could only reveal a monotone thought. But it was very obvious that he was relieved. And he was angry to the fact that he was relieved.
[Am I this weak?] Sarkysia placed his palm towards his face, and swallowed his own words. He couldn''t suppress the feeling of curiosity and glanced towards the fallen monster.
[Now that its closer. Its figure was becoming more and more humane.] Sarkysia gulped a mouthful of saliva as he looked towards the endless night.
[Should I check it?...]
[No... no... no...] Sarkysia shook his head side by side as to dispel the thoughts of going down and inspecting the monster if it was dead or not.
But a small green light shadowed over him, and made him rethink his thoughts.
{I should check it.]
{Since It''s completed anyways I should just check it.] Sarkysia revealed a small smile as he activated his levitation spell and levitated outside the walled city. He brought his ragged bag with him, and smiled mirthfully as he descended.
The reason was very simple. It was very hard to hunt monsters at the time when their most active in. Which was the night. But hunting monsters for money in this time of the day was very ideal. Since their body parts would be very active. If they were killed at night, Their value would increase by folds since their body parts would be the freshest at night. So hunting them down at night is very ideal if you want huge folds of money at once, But the danger is doubled.
The absence of the sun makes their primal instincts temporarily boosted. That''s why hunting them at night is very hard, Since their powers would be doubled. Let''s say a [Revenant] was hunting a Sand Hydra at night. A Revenant''s darkness affinity would surge making them much more swift than they are at day.
Sarkysia couldn''t suppress his imminent laughter as he approached the fallen monster. Who would not be happy to see a Rank A monster which was relatively hard to hunt even at day collapse at night? Butchering them for their body parts would double his income by three folds.
Sarkysia giggled to the thought of having a Rank A monster''s body parts for free without hassle and risks. He would be instantly rich by just one day.
And even if this Rank A monster was still alive. He could just finish it with his defensive spell bashes and collect the body parts for himself.
Sarkysia slowly advanced himself towards the fallen monster and his eyes widened towards the sight. It was not a monster in the first place. It was a human. What''s more a child and a young man.
As Sarkysia opened his thought to scrutiny. He approached the child and the young man in a slow manner, and observed their physical features.
The child was a boy predictably at the age of ten, and his physical features were average for a Drasilian, Delving his thoughts to the deep.
And the young boy looked like on his sixteens and seemed like he was a native in this city. Just his featured alone made it noticeable. The averagely built body, and his violet hair made it even more convincing. He wanted to furthermore investigate this man, but he couldn''t as he would be out of range from the barriers protection of which was activated earlier.
Sarkysia fell into deep thoughts again.
{If these two were natives here. Then why would be outside the walled city at this time of the day? If they were really natives... They would''ve already known that heading outside at late hapon is forbidden!]
Sarkysia still couldn''t shake off the thoughts of the two being a Revenant or a Shapeshifter, and decided to cast a small divine spell. Which would prove If his earlier thought were true.
"Exorcism!"
A small white light emanated from his outstretched hands and pierced the sleeping visages of the two. But the expected happening didn''t happen. Instead, The only thing that replied was the cold winds blowing towards the three figures.
Sarkysia fell as he inhaled great amounts of oxygen. He unconsciously blurted out "Thank god" as he fell towards the barren lands which were now cold due to the blowing winds.
The cold blowing winds from the night were encroaching towards the walled city. Some people even wrapped themselves into double fold clothing as they barricaded themselves into their houses.
In the middle of this quiet neighborhood. There was a shivering woman holding her body together to keep the cold winds sated.
"Hahh... Hahh... Viktor." Leila couldn''t sate her worries as a small stream of liquid flowed from her face. That''s because she understood the danger of this town, and its vicinity. Viktor was Rank C capable of defeating foes at the Rank of B with his [Statik Shiv]. That''s why Leila trusted him. But now... Leila was blaming herself for his death.
"I should''ve stopped you that time!" Leila was now crying uncontrollably. Noises of sucked mucus sourced from her and echoed towards the silent vicinity.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" A thunderous bellow that originated from the inside of the stony home behind her shook Leila''s stressed mind, and made her resurface back from reality.
Leila could hear the murmurs of her fellow slaves from one of the stony homes as she wiped her tears from his mellow cheeks. Leila stood up with a steeled resolve. Even If the cooled winds kills her. She would still force herself to find Viktor. Her most beloved friend.
Leila was crying as she approached the nearest city gate. She turned her head around the area and observed them carefully.
There were figures of five different people on top of the walled city. All of them was a monk. Leila couldn''t understand what they''re doing there since she was not a native of this city and still didn''t know the dangers lurking outside of this walled city.
She approached the city gate at a constant pace, But was stopped by a small green of light covering everything. Even her.
Leila once again shook her head around the area and saw a person levitating from the air heading towards the barren land.
Leila didn''t knew why, but she ran towards that floating figure and saw two monks pulling a person. Leila slowed her approach as deep feelings surged from her. She couldn''t believe it. The most important person in her life was now here. Fallen unto the lifeless land, and being pulled inside by a bald monk.
"VIKTOR!!!" Leila cried as she stumbled down, shook the monk from stopping her and clutched the most important person in her life.
"Huwaaa!"
The two monks unconsciously covered their ears as they led out a small remark of which was inaudible for Leila who didn''t think of anything from the sight of her beloved Viktor.
"Ghnnggg!"
Leila finally calmed down and wiped her tears from her cheeks. She still couldn''t believe it. Viktor was alive and kicking!
She glanced at the two monks struggling to pull a small child inside the walled city.
That''s because, As if there was an invisible wall. The small child couldn''t be pulled inside and was stuck between the invisible wall.
"Pull once more!!!"
The shiny head monk shouted towards the other shiny head monk, and they pulled the small child together.
"Gnnnghhh!!!" The two monks closed their eyes in concentration as small cracks formed around the invisible wall. The child was being pulled inside, but the barrier was being cracked. The only reason why the monks didn''t realized this was because their eyes were closed.
The invisible wall of which was the barrier was eradicated as the small child entered the vicinity of the walled city. But the two monks still didn''t noticed it, and just revealed a sigh of relief.
Leila saw the barrier broken, but didn''t think much of it as she didn''t understood the purpose of such weakened barrier. Even if she was a mage herself. She was not that much of a high ranked, and so. She didn''t understood high level barriers, and as to why they''re used.
But they didn''t understand what''s about to happen. Since the barrier was unknowingly destroyed. Two glowing pairs of red eyes emanated from the spanning darkness of the night. It radiated an aura of terror of which was dissipated because of the protective spells the two monks were using.
But Leila felt it. She could feel the smell of death slowly encroaching towards her. Like a giant carnivore in front of her. She quivered in response to this deathly aura.
"Hnngghhh..." She tightly clutched Viktor as the deathly aura slowly dissipated into nothingness.
But that was just a sample as to what''s gonna happen... Little did the city of Drasilia understood the events that would unfold.
That this night would be called. "The Night of Descent."

Chapter 3: Awakened Emperor.
The prickling heat of the sun enclosed the surroundings of the two modestly dressed people walking in this beautifully scented area of the manor. The walking figures were a man and a woman. The man wore decent clothing considered to be modest in this time, and the woman was also wearing a clothing that deserved such a fine woman like him.
The black haired man seated down the bench of this neatly arranged array of flowers. The golden haired woman also seated with him, and sniffed the electrocuting scent of the flowers around them.
The black haired man had a plain build. A build that was usually agile, and with a height that was considered to be of average. The woman who seated down with him was a woman with a fine scent around her. Her graceful movements upon seating made it clear that she was that of a high ranked woman, and not of a peasant one.
The woman had a compact breast that scaled well with her stature, and her enlivening smile radiated across the surroundings as she seated herself down.
"Madam Dianne..."
The black haired man was moving awkwardly. He was that astounded of the woman''s fluid movements, and since the woman was smiling to him. He was pressed to unconsciously call her name. Of which, made the woman who was finely dressed. Turn to his awkward assumption.
"What is it? Leone? "
Even her voice was deserving of that of a noble woman, and her mirthful smile radiated as she spoke the name of the man seating beside her. Her mellow tune made him slightly quiver before assuming a calm facade.
"I just wanted to know why we''re here..."
Leone swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he assumed a pose deserving of that of a commander. He thought to himself that If he would be embarassed here, Then he was not deserving of the commander position.
Dianne who heard Leone''s response turned her neck below. There was a lingering feeling of electricity running through her as she heard Leone''s deep voice. She didn''t understood what she was feeling right now as a line of red marks appeared on her puffy cheeks, and her stature slowly becoming nervous.
"That''s because..."
Leone who heard her paused reply, Turned to her and noticed the visible red marks around her puffy cheeks.
"Madam Dianne! Are you sick?! " Leone frantically moved his body and turned around Madam Dianne after having seen the red marks around her cheeks. He unconsciously moved his hands like a panicked man, and posed nonchalant words.
"No... It''s not like that... I don-"
A thump shook the beautiful scenery around the two and interrupted Dianne''s speech midway.
"What is that?!" Leone immediately stood up and shook his head side by side. Checking the surroundings.
"What''s happening? Leone?" Dianne also stood up and moved closer to Leone who was now unsheathing his rapier.
Around the walled city of Drasilia. There were places abundant of trees. It was very unreasonable for a desert to have huge trees like these around the two, But thanks to various magic tools and magic techniques. It was made possible. That was the true power of magic. To be able to change the topography of a certain area in a certain radius.
Because of that reasoning. Leone''s alert level raised up to the roof. He was more aware and alert since the thieves this time was cunning. To be able to enter a protected area around the walled city. They were skillful enough to alert even the Battalion Commander Leone.
"Come out! You fiends!" Leone protected Dianne with his left hand while assuming a middle stance with his right hand.
"!" Leone''s tensed nerves made him turn around and glance at the bush that made a rustling sound.
"Come out already!" As Leone shouted. A white flash out light emanating from the nearby bushes made him temporarily close his eyes.
The bushes rustled more and more. The rustling became intense until...
An excruciating pain forced Leone''s consciousness in white, and the last thing that he remembered was a sand figure closing unto him before he fell unconscious. The last thought he had was the hope that Madam Dianne was saved.
The piercing light of the sun stimulated the relaxed nerves of Viktor who was sleeping soundly. As Viktor woke up, He noticed that he was not in the middle of the deserted lands anymore. He was now inside an unfamiliar place. Viktor stood up and opened the nearest window beside his bed.
"!"
What astounded him was the spectacle outside. Myriads of busy people''s voices rang across the pressed streets. The tall skyscrapers filled the blue sky before him. But what shocked him more was the place where he was.
Judging from the view. He noticed that he was not inside a regular house on the road. He was on top of a mound. He didn''t knew what mound it was, But the enigmatic atmosphere was enough to raise his alert levels towards the sky.
"Shit!"
Viktor turned back and immediately rushed towards the door, and opened it. He immediately ran across the hallway that was empty.
"Stop!"
Viktor''s body shook as he heard the voice that resonated behind him. He slowly turned back and found the person he least expected. It was Leila. His childhood friend.
"L-Leila!"
Viktor was almost teary as he approached Leila on a slow walking pace. He immediately hugged Leila when she reached Viktor''s arm reach. Even Leila herself couldn''t stop her tears.
"Viktor..."
"Leila..."
The two exchanged glances and cried until they were tired. After the two''s reconciliation. Viktor broke the silence by asking a particular question to Leila.
"Leila..."
Leila''s teary eyes opened and she wiped her tears on her cheeks and replied in the same manner.
"Viktor..."
Leila was now smiling. The once saddened face was now replaced with a mirthful one. Perhaps she was relieved that Viktor was alive or That she was able to meet her childhood friend again. Only Leila knows why.
"How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was collapsing from tiredness, and that was in the middle of the desert..."
Viktor''s dumbfounded face made it obvious that he really didn''t knew how he got here and that he was not joking. So, Leila replied with a smile and said.
"You were dragged here by a cute child. Though I don''t know how he managed to bring you here with just his arm strength alone, But I''m very thankful to him because he saved you..."
"A child?"
Viktor unconsciously said as images flashed across his memory, and made him realize the reality of It all.
"Yes... What''s the matter? " Leila said as If she didn''t knew what caused Viktor''s face to be distorted.
"Nothing... Anyway... Where Is he?!" Viktor shook Leila''s thin figure. Viktor realized what he had done and immediately apologized to Leila.
Stolen novel; please report."S-Sorry! "
"It''s okay Viktor... Anyway, He''s here. " Leila replied with a smile and glanced at the door that was on their side. Viktor immediately removed his hands from Leila''s shoulder and opened the door that Leila pointed.
What was inside was a figure of a small child of which was aged ten to eleven according to his body structure. The child was now wearing a white linen of cloth and was covered by a green blanket, and was sleeping soundly on the wooden bed.
As If they''re entranced by the cuteness of the child. Viktor and Leila shook themselves and made their own minds resurface to reality.
The two then approached the sleeping child and observed him carefully.
"As expected... Due to the intense physical fatigue. He''s still in a coma..."
Leila broke the silence with a saddened tune. As Leila spoke the current premise of the child. Viktor fixated his gaze towards the sleeping child, while his mind wandered.
{What was that feeling? This feeling of being drawn... Like a magnet to a metal... I can''t explain it...]
"Viktor?"
"Viktor!"
What shook his pensive mind was Leila''s alarming shout. Viktor unconsciously shrugged his body and said.
"What is it?"
"The child!"
Viktor responded with a gaze to the child. He was moving... Ever slightly... But It signified that he was alive. The child''s eyelids slowly opened after a few blink of an eyes and welcomed the reality with a dumbfounded voice.
"Where Am I?" The child''s cute voice sent an astounding shock towards the two teenagers observing him.
"Who are you people?"
The child shook his side by side and found the two people closely observing him, and then asked a small question.
"You know kid? You''re the one we saved here, You should be grateful once and for all... " Viktor replied with a pressing mixed with a monotone voice. He turned his pokerface towards the child and fixated his gaze to him.
[Strange...] Viktor found it strange that the feeling of being drawn in was now dissipated. As if it didn''t even existed.
"Hmm... So you people saved me? I''m eternally grateful. " The child said and bowed his head, and Leila who was listening had her face more and more distorted in amazement. She was amazed that a child like him responded with proper decorum. A decorum only deserved for nobles.
"Woahh... Are you even a child? How well mannered..." Leila unconsciously led out a small remark about the child''s sudden reply, and then turned her head towards Viktor who was also shocked by the child''s strange attitude. An attitude that a child like him shouldn''t have.
A feeling of nobility. That''s what the child exuded.
"So you people wouldn''t tell me your names? Or I should name myself first before you tell me your names? "
The child again spoke and the two were again entranced to his noble attitude.
"Ahh... Fine... My name is Arslan Darfield. "
The astounded two heard the child''s name and unconsciously blurted out.
"Are you a noble''s child?"
"No..." Their question was immediately flattened by a monotone reply. They were thankful that he was not a member of nobility If he was. Then they would''ve been beheaded by now. Being accused of kidnapping was something that they wouldn''t like. Thus, If he was a member of a noble family. They could only kiss their lives goodbye.
"I- I see..." The two almost sighed at the same time which revealed that they had the same thoughts. After the two smiled to each other Viktor broke the protruding silence and revealed his name.
"By the way... My name is Viktor. " Viktor said and bowed. Trying to imitate the child''s noble attitude.
"And I''m Leila... You can call me sister too!" Leila also revealed her name, but didn''t bowed like Viktor. She immediately approached Arslan after the painstakingly long staring, and asked.
"Are you hungry? Or are you thirsty?! Which is it?!" Leila frantically asked while scanning the child''s body for any injuries.
But the child didn''t reply and turned a flat gaze towards Viktor.
"I''m not hungry nor thirsty, By the way... " Arslan sighed and shrugged off Leila who was blocking his view and said.
"Are you two perhaps... Slaves?"
The two who listened intently widened their eyes with shock. But just as they were about to say something about what the Arslan had said. A small rumbling noise interrupted them and made the two laugh.
"Hahaha... Now you''re hungry... Let''s eat, Let''s eat!" Viktor laughed and turned his back from the two and at the same time waved his hands, and signaled for them two also come.
"Okay okay..."
"It looks like I can''t hide it now..."
The two replied with their respective remarks and followed Viktor towards the hallway.
The sand formation in this area was quite strange. The sand formed countless pillars like it was concrete, and made a huge dome. The dome which was housed by desert mouses and Fly bugs. Was now housed by a strange creature.
The creature was relatively short. That If it was standing. It would be at the same height as a normal person. The only strange thing that it had was the nauseating killing intent that it released.
"Fumuu..." The strange creature which had a skin color like the sands said with a raspy voice.
"It looks like the time is now..." The strange creature stood up and pointed towards the empty area which was relatively huge. The area where it pointed was an area shaped like a boxing ring. With strange talismans squaring the area. The strange creature raised its hands and howled.
"Arise!"
With this command. The sand formed itself into countless sand soldiers. The sand soldiers wielded battle spears of which was embued with magic. Some were filled with lightning magic and some were filled with fire magic. Due to the hue at the tip of their spears. It was fairly noticeable that their spears were not the norm. They were magic spears.
"To all my summoned subjects! " The intense voice of the strange creature made the summoned sand soldiers salute.
"Instill fear towards the humans! The humans who caused us to be like this! Attack them! Let none of them live!"
"This is the command of the highest emperor of the sands. Azir!" With its announcement. The sand soldiers sounded their spears by hitting it towards the sand floor. The sound that was made was intense enough that the huge sand dome was filled with only these noises.
"Fumuu..."
"Humans... "
"Prepare yourselves!"
The strange creature concluded its speech and glanced at the image that was displayed by a strange magic tool. It was a walled city. The city of Drasilia.

Chapter 4: Investigation...
The stupor atmosphere widened across the small living room of a quite special motel. This motel was the place, where the ragged Viktor and Arslan was brought by the "Immovable" Monk Sakrysia. The room had a mirthful and astounding atmosphere, but was depleted somewhere when the three people seated.
Arslan intently fixated his gaze towards Leila who was frantically trying to arrange the table in order. Viktor who was seated also fixated his gaze towards Leila.
The pressure of the two''s gazes made Leila nervous of her actions. Which in turn made the two furrow their brows.
"Hey... Do you really know how to set a table?"
The first one who broke the silence was Viktor. His still visage made Leila turn to him, and revealed a shamed face.
"So-sorry..."
Leila led out a distressing voice and decided to stop her actions. Arslan who noticed the sudden interjection decided to voice the best course of action.
"Uhh... How about we do this? "
Arslan stood up and took the rag lying on the wooden chair nearby. He then cleared the table of the foods and wiped it all over, until the white linen turned dark from the dusts.
"Now, Place those back."
Arslan signaled Viktor, and Viktor who immediately decrypted the sign, moved and placed the steamy grace on the table.
"This is the simplest way to do this... Why haven''t you done it?"
With a shaming voice. Arslan said towards Leila who was still standing dumbfounded after watching the fast pace of the cleared table operation.
"That''s because... "
"What?" Arslan again furrowed his brows in anticipation.
"I-I''m sorry..." Leila led out a stressed voice in response and her head hung down.
"Nah... Forget about it... Even monkeys jumps from trees! That means even a perfect like person would fail!"
Viktor tried to clear out the stupor atmosphere between Arslan and Leila, and Leila who heard the poem riposted with.
"I think you mean, Even monkeys fall from trees..."
"Ah..." Viktor''s jaw dropped as he noticed his failure.
"That''s still okay, since you got the meaning... HaHaHa!"
After deciding to laugh off his failure, and the two noticing his weird behavior, laughed like small children, and that''s where Viktor concluded that his plan had succeeded, nevertheless.
The once stupor environment was now filled with mirth,But the problem still remained.
After speeding off the food plates, The once filled up bowl was now empty in a matter of seconds. It was Arslan who paced up the served food, But even though the food was finished in an instant. The two adults who were with him wasn''t even wavered to the slightest.
They understood the child''s situation. Who knows how many days did he not eat while travelling on that barren land?
Perhaps he was so hungry that Arslan even forgot table manners that was very crucial to them, nobles. Or maybe because the food is free, and Arslan decided to speed through it since their not the one paying for it. As for the answer. Arslan only knows.
"So..."
After letting out a "Fwee" sound. Arslan rubbed his stomach and decided to break the silent atmosphere that enshrouded them.
"Hmm?"
The two adults were the first person to finish their plates, and decided to tap their greed for food after having witnessed Arslan pacing through the food plates. The first person who was able to respond to Arslan''s sudden voice was Viktor. Leila was busy trying to clean the plates that Arslan sped off.
"Can I leave this place?" Arslan''s carefree attitude was now replaced with a serious one. He carefully placed his posture and glanced at Viktor, and the stunned Leila who was still carrying the plates.
"Leave this place? First of all, Do you even have a home to go to?" Viktor was steadfast in his response and struck Arslan in the place where it hurt the most.
"You do have a point, but..."
"But?" Viktor furrowed his brows and displayed signs of curiosity.
"Nothing... Just explain to me the reasons why I can''t leave this place."
After stopping for a few seconds. Arslan shook his head and continued.
"First of all... We''re under surveillance. "
"!" The word "under surveillance" shook Arslan the most and made him unconsciously widen his pupils, and slam the wooden table.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"What''s happening!" A voice struck from the outside, and knocked on the door. The three turned their gazes towards the door, and glanced at Viktor who was trying to make a sign.
"Shh..." Viktor signed with his hands a familiar sign, Meaning: Keep Quiet.
The two who immediately understood decided to feign a facade, and said.
"Ohh! Please be careful Viktor! We can''t afford to break anythings hereee... We can''t afford to paay..." Leila was the first person to spoke and decided to strengthen her resolve and faked.
"Really... Really... Kuya Viktor! You should be careful next timeee! The floor is somewhat wet, so please be careful about slippinggg!" Arslan also rode off the game, and faked. [Author Note: Kuya is a Filipino term for brother...]
"Ohhh... I''m really a stupid personnn! How could I trip with a glass of waterrr! Hahaha!" Viktor jumped into the fray after seeing the gazes of the two pressing him to join the faking.
"Be careful not to break anything there! Or else we will demand double times payment!" The voice again struck the insides of the room. Instead of causing a ruckus. The three were revealing a smug smile as they stood up and cleaned the room.
After cleaning out the table of the food. Viktor brought a parchment and an Ink pen with him. The two instantly deduced the reason for bringing the items and silently seated themselves unto their designated seats.
Viktor dipped the ink pen unto the ink bottle, and decided to write the first line of message.
"Second... We''ll be placed as a wanted criminal if we escape from this facility..."
After reading the message. Arslan snatched off the Ink pen from Viktor and decided to write his own message.
"For what reason? Did you two perhaps did something hideous?!"
The two shook their heads and Leila seized the Ink pen from Arslan''s miniature like hands.
"They''re suspecting us for black magic practice. The reason was, the protective wall of the city broke after you two got inside, and after through inspections. They found out that the barrier was laced with darkness element, and the primary suspects were the two of you. The last persons who got inside the wall. What''s more, At night." After squeezing her message unto the almost filled up parchment. Leila reprimanded the Ink pen to Viktor.
Viktor took another parchment in a hasted way, and placed it back unto the table, and scribbled once again.
"From my inspections, These will be their actions tomorrow. "
The two who scanned the parchments widened their pupils and looked like asking for more. Viktor who picked up the atmosphere decided to write the next sentences.
"Element Affinity Test."
"Physical Strength Test."
"Questioning. "
The two nodded as a sign that they''ve finished reading the recently scribbled message. Viktor took a sigh and wrote once more.
"These tests will be conducted tomorrow at unknown times, I wasn''t able to gather information about when they''ll be conducted, But at least, This much is clear. "
"And also..." Viktor sighed once again and scribbled.
"I think that Arslan will not test positive on the Physical Strength Test, Given his short stature and body." The two again nodded, but there was a person who nodded with a slight revelation of anger. Viktor noticed this and decided to write.
"Being negative doesn''t mean you''re the culprit. It''s more advantageous to be negative than to be positive. " Arslan and Leila enthusiastically nodded, and signed Viktor to continue.
"For the questioning. Leila is obviously out of this so that makes Arslan and me viable to frame ups, and also!" With this, Viktor stopped scribbling as the ink bottle ran out of ink, and decided to whisper his last message to the two.
"Be wary about their calm stature. There are devils hiding in their visages." With this whisper. Only one person widened her eyes in shock. The two were steadfast. With a glint of determination in their eyes.
