《New existences》 Chapter 1: Pre-genises There are rules to the universe everyone understands and must follow like physics, time, existence, dimensionality and infinitely more, but what if those rules were only a figment of our imagination? everything you''ve ever knew was all but set in place. Is it possible to try and think about? to try and even comprehend such a thought? For almost everyone the answer would be no, but for very few that answer would be yes. The alarm blared its inevitable ringing as it did every morning at 6 but the sheets stood still, finally its occupant flung its arm out and slammed the alarm. The arms body emerged from the bed and Evan was forced to get up and get ready for school for what felt like the 100th time while in reality it was only the second day of school. ¡°When did I ever agree to this?¡± he muttered under his breath stumbling out the front door. Second day of sophomore year and already Evan¡¯s only thoughts were ¡°When does summer break start again?¡± With the bus pulling up Evan was getting ready to deal with the boring classes that lasted for what felt like days and the teachers that spoke empty words with full confidence of which then only demonstrated their stupidity to the world around them. Even with being color-blind, Evan saw the world with an understanding that no adult could fathom. It seemed that those around him and even those his age didn''t understand the complexity that surrounded them in each moment that did have, could have and will pass. After listening to all the pointless conversations between the people on the bus around him which although seemed unhumorous to Evan everyone laughed, and so thus must he. ¡°Why do people laugh at such senseless comments? Or maybe there laughing at the stupidity of the comment? no, they find it amusing and then in some way humorous.¡± Although Evan understood most things, the minds of others were an exception. ¡°Why do people make decisions like they do? why is it no worth of thought seem to impact their responses, what made people work the way they did and why does it not seem to apply to myself?¡± these were few of many questions Evan had been asking himself for years with no sight of resolve. After finishing his math worksheet which wasn''t due till the end of class Evan had another hour to kill and so he was left to his thoughts and as usual his mind wandered. In his world of thought much seemed like that of the real world, sometimes it seemed that maybe his imagination was farther from fantasy then the world he lived in was. Everything around him was in perfect sync and everything was playing their part as they would, every second passing seemed not as a section of time but infinitely many frozen moments strung together to make a single second, all of this is what Evan saw around him and it was all just that much more disappointing when the teacher spoke to him¡ and Evan was sucked out of his mind and into his discombobulated reality. At lunch Evan sat around talking with his friends, who although weren''t as aware of the world as he was they still were quite fun to talk to and each one had their own personality. Rick was Evan''s best friend, he had a ridiculous sense of humor and just blurted out whatever came to his mind. He was the loud one of the group, if he decided to talk, everyone was sure to hear him, but Evan had always seem his small but existing understanding of how the world worked which no one else seemed to see. Drake, Evans silent friend always seemed to just sit and watch gathering information, if you were to ask him something he was sure to know it, either that or he would pretend not to know as he was a know-ed judge when it came to secrets and people and knew whether or not you were rightfully inclined to know. Evan also had a girl who always sat with them named Ellie who seemed to take a liking to Evan and failed miserably to conceal it. Evans friends were always trying to convince him ¡°Just go out with her already, she''s super hot¡± and ¡°If you don''t make a move soon then i will¡±. The only problem was Evan didn''t like Ellie, ¡°She''s hot sure, but she she no idea who she is as a person or what means to truly connect with someone¡± ¡°But dude, this is high school, you''re supposed to have stupid relationships and learn what to do and what not to do¡±. But sadly Evan understood all too well what decisions were right and wrong, he understood you don''t have to make a mistake to move forward, you simply have to experience it. People just used ¡°you learn from mistakes¡± as an excuse to pardon theirs, while in reality it isn''t true that you have to make the mistake, you only have to understand it. Evan went through the rest of the day on what he called autopilot, it was when he simply zoned out and his body went along with this usually routine allowing his mind to rest without interruption. Evan actually did this for the rest of the semester, even for his finals, letting his body take the test, not his mind. For the second semester none of his classes changed, except for sports and art, they were being replaced with business management and philosophy. ¡°Sports will be an easy A, but I''ve never taken philosophy before so that might be a little difficult¡± thought Evan as he again got on the bus for his first day of the second semester. He could not have been less prepared for what was coming, an unexpected journey of thought and soul, with universes in the hang of destruction and unlimited power at his hands, Evan was even more oblivious than the people around him to the upcoming events of unknown possibility. Chapter 2: New conceptions Getting off the bus Evan saw his friend Rick a bus over and decided to go talk to him. ¡°How''s it going Rick?¡± ¡°... Good¡± This seemed strange for Rick, usually one word led to the next and that one to the next and so on until someone finally stopped him before he went on speaking rampage, not usual for a single syllable and silence for him. ¡°You sure?¡± Evan asked unsure of what his reply might be. ¡°It''s...¡± And then silence from him. ¡°Are you alright man?¡± Evan said starting to get scared of his silence. Suddenly Rick said in a sad voice ¡°I crashed my new car the other day, I really wanted to show it off and now i can''t!¡±, Evan knew that although this might be true there was something else going on with Rick, ¡°That sucks man! well at least school''s started back up and I heard there was this super hot exchange student in one of your classes, maybe you could give it a shot¡±, Evan said this deciding if Rick didn''t want to talk about it then he would just leave it alone. After most of Evans classes he began to head to his new class philosophy. With the earlier events with Rick still in his head he decided to dismiss it and get ready for what he hoped would be a good class. Stepping into his new class somehow the atmosphere seemed different than the other boring ones he was used too, the air around the room brightened with a unseen light and through the noise of other classmates a calming silence seemed to speak without a voice almost directly to Evan. The teacher came up to greet Evan, his face and smile seemed like that of the room, uncertain but comforting and speaking without talking, when he did speak it was strange to hear that of a voice that spoke with such understanding, something Evan had never experienced before. Everyone started sitting down and so Evan found a seat, the class started with Adrian announcing ¡°This is not your usual class, you will not be tested on your memory or past knowledge of the world, you will be tested on how well you can think, understand a situation which is unknown to everyone, make sense of the unexplainable and find the possibilities in the impossible¡±. Right off the bat and Evan could not have been less prepared. This was going to be one tricky A. The year continued on and Evan was doing well in school, he was happy and he had good friends. He was once again heading to philosophy when Rick stopped him, he was again in his state of silence as he was at the beginning of the year. It seems now he wanted to talk though. ¡°Dude, I¡ I don¡¯t know what to do.¡± Now Evan was a bit confused as Rick had failed to mention what it was he was talking about. ¡°I just don¡¯t know, what should I do?¡± At this point Evan was forced to ask ¡°What are you talking about?¡± in which Rick replied with ¡°My parents are getting divorced, I might have to move¡±. Evan was in silence, He had no idea how to respond. Evan had lived a very easy life in comparison to most, he had two nice parents, lived in a good home and did well in most everything he did. But now his friend was getting his life ripped apart from every side and Evan had no clue what to do. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Rick started breaking down, which was an unsettling sight seeing he was supposed to be the strong popular guy. This barrage of emotions was interrupted by Evans philosophy teacher who had been walking down the hall heading to class, he suddenly touched Rick''s shoulder and asked if he would like to come with him to the class in which Rick replied yes. Some very strange things happened that day in philosophy for Evan, first Adrian had somehow convinced his friend it was going to be alright just by saying a few words to him which Evan was unable to hear. Then Adrian had misspelled ¡°thought¡± on the board, he wrote ¡°thouht¡± forgetting the g. Evan had tried to correct him but apparently the entire class agreed that the word was spelled that way, making Evan feel as though he had gone mad. After that strange day many more strange things seemed to happen in philosophy, the strangest one maybe for Evan was this. one day a ¡°substitute¡± came in, but to Evan it looked like it was still Adrian his teacher, looked identical and acted identical, it MUST have been his original teacher. For an unknown reason Evans classmates believed there really was another person teaching them and that Adrian was off on a vacation. In the same day the ¡°substitute¡± had accidentally knocked over his computer and instead of it hitting the ground it started floating back to its original position. When Adrian ¡°returned¡± from his trip Evan had to ask if he was just going crazy or if it was the world around him. Adrian looked surprised and responded ¡°Haven''t you figured it out yet?¡± to which Evan could only respond with a look of stupidity. Adrian then said in the most of monotone of responses ¡°Why Evan, I thought you already knew, I''m god¡± Chapter 3: The Impossibilities Evan stared at his teacher in confusion. Had he heard him right? Unsure Evan had to force himself to speak ¡°I''m sorry, say that again?¡±, and in return only a smile from Adrian. And with that the conversation was over and Adrian seemed to walk away without a care while Evan was frozen there unable to think or speak, ¡°What? WHAT?¡± was the only thing racing through Evans head for the next few hours until school got out and his winter break had started. Evan was not religious in any way, he had ideas and theories but that''s all they were, ideas, and here he had just experienced his teacher telling him he''s god. ¡°I mean in some way it would explain all the crazy things happening in class. But how come no one else realizes something weird is going on here?¡± With no answers but unlimited questions Evan was left on his break in a confused state which his parents classified as ¡°his teenage stage¡±, but if only they knew what had happened they might have had a different view. After Evans winter break had started he began to see more and more of those strange events which no else saw, they seemed to be happening more and more. It started out small, with Evan walking down the street and seeing clouds shape into actual shapes quite distinct. Then maybe he''d see someone jump roping and the rope phased through the kid and they would continue on jumping as if nothing happened. Once Evan was babysitting the neighbor''s newborn kid and suddenly all the TVs and computers turned on and all of his toys lighted up or started making noise while the ceiling lights were flashing. To escape it all Evan went into ¡°autopilot¡± and escaped to his realm of thought in which he could live in peace for the brief seconds he could. He had actually created an entire little city in his mind filled with imaginary people and houses, but sadly as any thought exist there were problems. His people would switch between personalities, the world would change on an instant, and Evan would easily get distracted, allowing him to access his small world for only moments at a time. Sadly this was not enough to distract him from the impossibilities surrounding him in every moment of life. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. With Evans mind opening further into the problems of the surrounding existence he noticed not only the prominent imbalances of his existence, but the small details he had somehow earlier missed, with mannequins changing position slightly, a single second skipped in time, and other almost unnoticeable changes. The imbalances were overwhelming for Evan and soon enough he was ready to break down. Winter break was almost over and Evan was dying to talk to his teacher Adrian in hopes of getting an explanation of the craziness he had been forced to experience for the entirety of the break. With questions racing through his head, Evan realization ¡°What if I don¡¯t want to know what''s going on? What if I like my mirage of the world and don''t want the truth?¡± But Evan knew himself too well and had to come to the conclusion ¡°There''s no way I can live in what I know to be a lie, the horrible truth is better than a desirable deception.¡± Finally break was about to end, and in turn Evans unanswered questions were to. Chapter 4: Tangent On his way to school Evan was deaf to those around him due to the thoughts that overwhelmed his mind ¡°What am I going to say? I wonder who Mr. Adrian really is? Could he really be god?¡± So as the mechanical like thoughts of the people around him worked away, Evans was in a floating vacuum of space with open eyes to the defiance that that rules of existence seemed to portray in contrast to how the universe was ¡°supposed¡± to work. The bus pulled up to Evans school and the snow slowly melted outside the window, with the sun glistening over the white powder Evan was left with only a single thought ¡°Will this ever be the same?¡±, not referring to any particular moment in time nor any object in mind. Finally Evan was walking towards philosophy through the crowds of people pushing him back. It was all moving in slow motion for Evan as the people of his school rushed around trying to get to class, with the teachers pushing past the kids to get to class. Looking around Even saw the categories everyone had been placed in and how crazy it was they accepted it as who they were, THEIR life dictated by others. all the clicks of ¡°band kids¡±, ¡°nerds¡±, ¡°jocks¡±, ¡°stoners¡±, ¡°foreign exchange students¡±, ¡°techies¡±, ¡°geeks¡±, and everyone else all just living by the society''s standards. Evan saw himself as none of these people, he associated himself with the quiet kids who you would never had know existed if they weren''t forced to go to school. Evan realizing he had sidetracked himself refocused his attention to getting to class as fast as possible. Suddenly his friend drake appeared out of nowhere and stood quietly staring at Evan. Confused and eager to get to class Evan asked what his friend wanted and got in reply ¡°This world will never be the same for you if you choose to truly learn the truth. It never truly fully reveals itself you know? The truth I mean, it never really ends. Always a truth to be discovered and a lie to be uncovered.¡± And with that he walked away. Evan was as confused as he had been for the past break and it frustrated him not knowing what it was he knew existed. Evan was now more motivated then ever to find whatever it was that was affecting the entire world around him. Finally nearing the door into the classroom Evan was forced to pause, ¡°Last chance man! It''s now or never, am I really ready for whatever madness awaits for me if I choose to find out what''s going on?¡± but as before Evan was engulfed in the mystery of whatever it was that surrounded him. The door was opened and it was time to learn what it was Evan had been living through for the past few weeks. He saw Adrian standing across the room talking to a student and a shudder went through Evan, The memory of the last time he had seen Adrian was too real but yet in a fantasy with only the words ¡°I¡¯m god¡± being prominent. Turning around Adrian''s eyes stared directly at Evan, speaking as they had before without any sound being made. Adrian walked up to Evan and stated ¡°I''m glad to see you again, you might have some questions. I can tell you everyth¡ No, not everything, but definitely something. Just stay in class after the bell rings and maybe I can answer at least some of your questions.¡± And again with the smile and just walking away as before. Evan sat through class not hearing a sound around him but only focusing on the teacher and trying to figure out who he truly was. Finally the bell rang and everyone got up except Evan, he was more then ready for a long awaited explanation. After everyone stored out the class only Evan and Adrian were left to look at each other. Finally Evan got up and walked over to Adrian and asked ¡°All right, obviously you know something about everything weird that''s been happening to me lately. So I want to know what''s going on and I want to know why my friend came to warn me of something I doubt he even knew about.¡± Adrian just stood there looking at Evan with a look of curiosity and eventually he said ¡°To answer your second question I sent your friend to warn you. As for your first question, that might be a little bit more difficult to explain.¡± ¡°Before I tell you anything I have to warn you you can''t just forget something as big as what I might tell you. You may want to forget but let me tell you, you can''t.¡± And with that Evan was outraged ¡°YOU CAN''T GO TELL SOMEONE YOU''R GOD AND LET THEM SEE ITEMS FLOAT AND FREAKING MAKE THEM FEEL LIKE THEY''RE GOING CRAZY AND THEN TELL THEM NOT TO WANT AND FIND OUT WHAT''S GOING ON!¡± Taking a breath Evan regained his usual self ¡°Can you please just tell me why the world''s going crazy, and if you can''t do that then at least tell me i''m the crazy one here.¡± Adrian didn''t look stunned at all and replied in his usual monotone voice with ¡°All right, let''s learn why your not the crazy one.¡±
