《Rise of the Young Immortal》 Prologue: Goddess of Rain Hey guys! RainDropz here. I''m a huge fan of light novels. Chinese novels, Japanese novels, you name it! Ever since I began reading, I always get "what if" moments as I read something like Meng Hao beating the crap out of someone haha. I''m pretty sure you all have those moments. Therefore, I decided to write this novel called Rise of the Young Immortal because I want to put all these "what if" moments into one story. To be honest English is not my strongest point so I''m probably going to have a lot of mistakes. Work with me here and please help me out! Criticism and pointing out my errors are welcomed. BUT PLEASE BE NICE OR I. WILL. CRY. ~_~ Thanks for reading. Rise of the Young Immortal Prologue: "Ten" Drip... "Nine, eight..." Drip... "Seven..." Drip¡ On that fateful day, the first thing I heard was the sound of water drops and the sound of beautiful voice. Drip... "Aghhh!" I woke up and screamed. Ugh, my head... it''s killing me... Clang! The man holding a torch banged on the metal door. "Hey you! Shut the fuck up!" I flinched. I weakly look to see a man staring at me with his red eyes through a small panel on the door. "Those eyes... what are they?" I thought. M-monster! His crimson eyes stared at me with deep sense of hate. His look felt like like he wanted to devour me. I shivered to the thought and quickly lowered my head as he glared. Soon, I heard his foot steps grow further and further away. "Why do I have to be on the lookout today... grumble..." He left... Catching a sigh of relief, I struggle to move my neck. I began to look around. It''s dark around me. I feel the damp and cold floor press against my knees. A tingling feeling soon hits me and water begins to drip on my bare back. I also feel some liquid fall onto my knee. It was... warm? Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. "Where am I?" I whispered. "Six, five..." The voice begins to sound clearer. "Who- Who''s there!?" I look around again and feel no presence of anyone else. I was frightened. "But such a pretty voice..." I thought. Waking up from my stupor, my mind began to clear. I began to move my limbs. "Ouch, Ouch... Why am I hurting all over?" I notice a feeling of pressure as I move my wrists and hear a metallic clang on the floor. My arms are bound, each to the opposite side of the wall. My back and knees are bent. "Why are there chains around my arms?" A warm fluid begins to gather in a great amount around my knees. "Is this bl- Blood? Why am I bleeding...?" My head feels hazy. "Four..." Soon a flicker of light shone and began to gather in front of me. "Three..." The light begins to grow. But my conscious is beginning to fade. "Two..." As soon as it became the size of a human, a figure begun to form. But my eyes are beginning to close. "One." Through the slit of my eyelids, the last thing I saw a figure of a girl. A lovely voice as carried by the sweet fragrance of the morning dew begins to talk. A mesmerizing voice with a cool and prideful tone soon sounded out. She said these words which forever changed my life. That was my first meeting with the Goddess of the Rain. "Hmm... interesting. Such a pure soul. Boy, would you like to fulfill and inherit the ancient covenant of the heavens?" That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out... Chapter 1: An Unfortunate Child Hey guys Raindropz here, I''m back from vacation. I''ll just start editing chapters before I continue with the later chapters. Chapter 1: An Unfortunate Child Bang! ¡°Ugh¡¡± Peng! Smash! ¡°Pheh! That¡¯ll teach you not to hang around these parts! Come on guys, let¡¯s show this trash here where he belongs!¡± A foul-mouthed young man said while spitting on the street like he was looking at the sight of something disgusting. In a corner of an alley lies a young man. Blood begins to drip in the corner of his mouth. Looking at his appearance, a frail body that is beaten and bloody can be seen. The poor young man has a look of distain at himself. In a flash a glint of lights can be seen in his eyes, but it was only for a moment until it turned void and empty again. ¡°Why¡?¡± his voice cracked. Trying to stand up, he stumbles a bit before he regains an upright position. He dusts his ragged clothes and lightly looks up at the young boys and girls crowding him with an air of arrogance. His looks are full of confusion and despair. Thinking about his life until now, he can only shake his head as he look at his bruises on his body. He looks down and bring his two hands in front of himself. Tears begin to fall into his hands. Staring at his soaked hands, he whispers some words. ¡°Why was I born a cripple?¡± his voice muffled sounding lost and desolate. *** Continent of Frozen Jade Dragon *** Strength. In this world, that is how you determine your worth. In this world, ferocious beasts and creatures wander the continent. Mighty and valiant warriors have stood up to face these monsters. To protect their family, that is what they must do. Because humans are in a constant war against beings called Grimms, a country¡¯s survival rest on the strength of its people¡¯s strength. Even women and children have to contribute to the fight against the Grimms. Grimms are desolate beasts, monsters, or creatures, that wanders the frigid and broad continent. There are various type of Grimms. Simple Grimms can be mutated animals that is multiple times stronger than the original up to weird creatures. Legend says that Grimms can also take the shape of mythical creatures. The strongest and most famous Grimm, according to the Record of the Six Dynasties, was the Emperor Frozen Dragon that have been said to have appeared eons ago. The Emperor Frozen Dragon is a divine level that was said to be the reason the majority of world turning into a frozen landscape. Especially in the north, the people deify the Emperor Frozen Dragon. The Grimms¡¯ territory takes up about 60% of the world and these places are known as the danger zones. Human life is scarce in these parts of the world and only brave warriors dare to venture these lands. Historians have wondered long ago how such creatures known as the Grimm came about. Some speculated that they were born alongside humanity. Others guessed that they were born because of an ancient god performing a dark and ancient spell that turned darkness into malevolent beings. However, what is known about the Grimms after years of researching is that they are a form of creature catalyzed from the shadows using the mana conflagration of the atmosphere. The Grimms are categorized into 7 categories: temporal, earth, spirit, king, emperor, nascent, and divine. A temporal rank is the lowest of the low and divine is the highest of the ranking. Each sections are written in a descending matter which correlates to the might of the beast. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. Each sections are further broken up into 9 different sections. First to third is low class, fourth to sixth is middle class, seventh to eighth is high class. and ninth is peak class. Humans are also categorized into the same category, however, their power is based on the qi they cultivate. Since long ago, the desolate beasts wandering the continent have begun to slowly swallow humanity as a whole. To counteract the Grimms, it has been said that the ancient gods have bestowed upon the human to cultivate the heavenly qi and earthly qi. Humans who cultivates in the heavenly qi are known as spirit refiners and are known to gather the energy in the atmosphere into their dantian and then into their spirit. By redirecting the energy absorbed, humans can produce the elements of such fire, water, earth, or air. They can also materialize spirit items that would contain the essence of their soul. Legend has it that a heavenly qi gatherer of the fire element, who reached emperor level, once slew an army of 10,000 men and burn them to a crisp with just a swipe of his hands. On the other hand, humans who cultivates in the earthly qi are known as body refiners and flow the earthly qi absorbed to each crevices of their body after cultivating qi into their dantian. An earthly qi gatherer of emperor level has been said to have a body that is as tough as diamond and can withstand standing on top of a volcano and not be affected. Usually when a person is born, one would only cultivates one form of qi depending on their natural talents. It is immensely difficult to cultivate one already, so it is natural to pick one or the other. The amount nascent cultivator in either category is less than ten in the Frozen Jade Dragon continent so the difficulty can be seen with these numbers. A nascent qi cultivator is seen as a god by the people¡¯s standards. How much a person cultivate will determine their strength. Qi gathering is categorized into: temporal, earth, spirit, king, emperor, nascent, and divine levels, which further divides into low, middle, high, and peak. There are 9 sections in each categories. The first to third section is low class, the fourth to sixth section is middle class, the seventh to eighth section is high class, and the ninth section is peak class. The continent of Frozen Jade Dragon Continent is located in the northern hemisphere, making it hard for plant life to grow. Because of the lack of available plot to grow food, resources are scarce. Therefore, valiant warriors would need to go hunt these desolate beasts for their survival as they protect themselves from constant dangers of swarm of beasts. In a small town Empty Dawn inside the Frozen Jade Dragon continent, Jing Feng is a young lad who lived his days in constant harassment and pain. Jing Feng grew up being crippled at a young of age of 3 after he was hit by a noble¡¯s runaway cart. Because the cart lost control and hit a bump just before it hit Jing Feng, the wooden wheel turned into a myriad of sharp wood that pierced his dantian. He was no longer able to absorb the qi in the heaven and the earth and he was left crippled. He turns 11 this year, but he is still weaker than even a 3 years old kid. Jing Feng has been treated with distain by his peers. Soon his parents got affected by the people in the town and were labeled ¡°that trash¡¯s parents.¡± Afterwards, even his parents began to hate him. Then his sibling, because of how his parents treated him, also began to treat him with contempt. For 8 years, Jing Feng has grown up not knowing the love of a family, a friend, or a relative. For 8 years¡ Chapter 2: Disaster Chapter 2: Disaster Hey guys! RainDropz here. TEST TEST TEST!!! God i''m going to go crazy one of these days. Well hopefully you guys aren''t having a bad day with tests like me. I wanted to take a break so here''s the updated chapter, enjoy! P.S. Guys sorry about my poor grammar btw. I''ll be making edits later in this Chapter as I have no time right now because I have to study for another test. *** Beaten and bruised, Jing Feng is lamenting the fact that he is weak and powerless. He turned around and began to limp away despite the jeers in his surroundings. Just as Jing Feng was about to walk towards the main street, he suddenly hears an incantation near the location of the group of smug kids. Before Jing Feng got up, a young man with slit eyes in the group of young teens had a flash of inspiration and thought about a fun way to make the poor guy even more miserable. ¡°He he he! Guys, wait! Check this out.¡± said the young man with the snake eyes. The group of young boys and girls looked toward the short evil looking kid. ¡°Hey trash! Here¡¯s a present!¡± Elemental Wind: Burst! Suddenly a gust of wind condensed in his hand forming a spherical shape. The atmosphere suddenly begins to warp in front of the young man, sucking the air around him. The young boys and girls became elated and thought that the act in front of them will become amusing. The ball of air shot out of the snake boy and flew off in high speed. Jing Feng shivered and sense the encroaching danger behind him. But before he could turn and dodge, he felt a cringing pain in his back. Pak! ¡°UGH!¡± Jing Feng spits a mouthful of blood. The blast of wind hits Jing Feng square on the chest causing him to knock back at great speed. It was enough to break a few of his ribs causing his chest to slightly cave in. Because of Jing Feng¡¯s small stature and light weight, it caused him to fly in the opposite direction of the alley and into the other street. ***As this is happening*** A group of people with a noble air was walking near the alley way. A group of guards, about 10, surrounds a girl wearing a jade and silver robe followed by an old man with a rough beard. The old man had a look of an accomplished scholar. The princess is being escorted to meet up with the mayor of Empty Dawn to congratulate the prosperity of the town under him. As soon as the fluctuation in the atmosphere appeared, the guards came to a sudden halt. They became more vigilant of the surrounding and a few even began drawing out their weapons. However, before they were able to find out where the disturbance was coming from, Jing Feng flew towards them at neck breaking speed. When Jing Feng sees the group of people, he instinctively screams: ¡°WATCH OUT!¡± his voice sounded wretched as he was trying to suppress the blood in his throat. A beautiful young girl with clear eyes that sparkle like precious blue jade looks up. Author note: shine bright like a diamond~ The young girl was breathtaking. Her beauty can only be said to be a worldly possession that would drive any man crazy. Her silver hair shimmers like silk threads and flows behind her with a trace of elegance. Along with her small nose, her cherry lips fit the contour of her face with a perfect symmetry. Her face can only be said to be a sculpture done by the gods. The aloof look and calm air that she protrudes would make people think if such a girl is a goddess that has descended from the heavens. Bam! With dust flying all over the place, the guards and the scholarly old man gave a blank look. Just as the dust cleared up, their faces soon protrudes a horrified look. Jing Feng fell on top of the young girl. ¡°PRINCESS MENG!!!¡± yells the group of armed men. The group of young boy and girl that treated Jing Feng with contempt saw the group of well-dressed men. Thinking that the people they hit were important figures, they said the most natural phrase under the heavens. ¡°OH SHIT! RUN!!!¡± Soon they dashed and ran in all direction. The guards and the envoy did not notice the young group of boys and girls but soon their glare was focused on the dirty looking kid that hit their princess. Their stares were so sharp and emanated a killing intent that it looked like it can poke Jing Feng full of holes. However, the guard¡¯s killing intent soon dissipates. looking at the ragged condition of Jing Feng. But they soon notice the anger in the envoy¡¯s eyes. With a panic in their looks, the guards breaks Jing Feng and the princess apart. Soon, they captures Jing Feng and carries the unconscious princess away back to their lodging. The scholarly old man stared at blank dots at first, but soon fury fills his face. His veins fills his complexion and soon his face was as red as a baby¡¯s butt. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Thinking at this may be the end for the old scholar for failing to protect the princess, he glares daggers at Jing Feng with full of malicious intent. The old man did not even notice the bruises and injuries of Jing Feng because he was too worried about his life. Since he might get his head chopped off by the Emperor as soon as he returns, he orders the guards to beat Jing Feng up and throw him off to the underground prison. The guards felt a small pity looking at the young man covered in injuries but noticed the envoy looking at them. Gritting their teeth, the guards smacked Jing Feng around and soon the majority of Jing Feng bones were broken. Jing Feng said a few muffled sound before he fainted because of the pain. After having his anger vented off a little, the scholar soon went on his way to the princess and to report to the emperor, hoping that he would get off this incident without the emperor taking his life. The guards stopped as soon as the envoy was gone and carried Jing Feng to the Underground Prison. Near the underground prison lies the forest of Aquabless. Legend has it that a mysterious sprite has descended and caused the forest to grow overnight thousand of years ago. The people back then named the the forest ¡°Aquabless¡± because it would always rain everyday. The prison was located near the forest because of the rain. It is protected by a barrier casted by powerful spirit qi gatherers called Water Prison. ***At the prison*** Switching toJing Feng¡¯s perspective "Ten" Drip... "Nine, eight..." Drip¡ "Seven..." Chapter 3: Meeting with the Goddess Hey guys RainDropz here, I¡¯m back! Sorry about the earlier posts. I kinda did the last chapter with a bad plot sorry. I will be making edits and better clarification soon. However, here¡¯s Chapter 3 so far, enjoy: (Please remember to give good advice or point out where things need clarifications after reading. Thank you!) Chapter 3: Meeting with the Goddess Jing Feng¡¯s eyes slowly open up. Weakly looking up, Jing Feng is shocked to see the view in front of him. In front of Jing Feng¡¯s eyes is a beautiful goddess floating above ground. She is like a celestial nymph. Her blue hair that reaches her knees falls perfectly without her trying. Author¡¯s note: sorry couldn¡¯t help myself. Her aura protrudes a majestic feeling that would make one feel the need to kneel in front of her. Her face is perfect in all aspect. It was a perfection that feels like looking at it would burns the eye sockets of any man. Her bouncy body and perky bosom wrapped around ancient garment would shake the core of any man. However the cool and prideful look that she gives along with her majestic feeling would feel one feel like they have met a perfect empress. However, Jing Feng is still only 11 years old and has yet to develop attraction towards the opposite sex. ¡°Who are¡ Cough.. Hack!¡± cried Jing Feng. His throat can barely makes up the words he is trying to convey. Jing Feng is trying hard not to faint from the blood loss and the pain from being tortured alive. ¡°Child, don¡¯t speak¡¡± said the goddess in a cold but light tone. Soon the goddess begins to chant some words. The Goddess of Rain commands the water spirits: Water Cure From Jing Feng¡¯s various meridians, the water spirits begins to gather water and collect towards these areas. Then the water spirits begins to send qi to various networks of his body, activating his body¡¯s natural recovery. Warm light envelops Jing Feng¡¯s body and cover every inch of his body. His bones begins to construct and reform. The damage in his tissues begins to connect. Soon the visible wounds begin to glow under the mysterious light and become normal healthy-looking skin tissue. Such a feeling has caused Jing Feng to lose consciousness as it felt that he is being covered in the comfort of his mother¡¯s embrace. Now, not even a visible scar can be seen upon Jing Feng¡¯s body. His face shows a better complexion, however, it still pales from the pain he experienced just moments ago. ¡°Oh you poor, poor child. Let me break these chains that bound you¡± said the goddess. Oh benevolent water spirits, cut thy obstacle: Water Scythe Swish! Swish! Clang! The chains that bound Jing Feng was cut to smithereens. Jing Feng fell face down in front of the goddess along with the chains that bound him. PENG! The guards were alarmed by the noise. ¡°Who goes there!?¡± Shouted the red-eyed guard. ¡°Fuck! Someone¡¯s escaping!¡± Shouted another guard with black horns protruding in his head. The guards began running towards the noise. However shocked was seen in their eyes. A bright glow began to condense in the direction of Jing Feng¡¯s prison cell. ¡°HUMPH! Such an unruly bunch. Let¡¯s go somewhere a little more quiet shall we?¡± sneered the goddess. The goddess touched Jing Feng¡¯s back and chant a few words. Domain of the water have cease to contain the mighty power of the rain: Water Teleporation! Soon a blinding light covers Jing Feng¡¯s cell. Together the goddess and Jing Feng left. The guard with a fierce glow in his eyes checked the cell that contained Jing Feng. He saw that there was no one there. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡°Someone escaped! Ring the alarm!¡± cried the red-eye man. Ding! Ding! Ding! ¡°Fuck! Where did he go?!¡± shouted the man with the black horns. ***Near the Palace of Aquabless*** A beautiful and majestic azure temple stands near a forest. The temple looks grand and is covered in lush greenery and small animals. Rabbits, foxes, and deers can be seen running around the forest nearby. Outside the perimeter of the temple, thick rain can be seen as if trying to cover the majestic place. Snow should encompass the place since this is located near the very north so such a sight should be impossible. Inside the temple lies a multitude of rooms. In one of the room lies Jing Feng sleeping on a bed. Near the bed, a goddess can be seen with blue hair with a calm, but cold demeanor. Her icy look seems frigid, however one can see underneath that there is a glimmer of warmth under that cold expression. ¡°Ugh... uhhhh¡¡± Jing Feng is restlessly moving in his bed seeming as if he is having a bad dream. His breathing is hoarse and his face tightens. ¡°Mother¡ Father¡ why do you abandon me?¡± muttered Jing Feng. The goddess lifts up her hand and places her palm onto Jing Feng¡¯s forehead. Soon Jing Feng¡¯s complexion became better and his facial expressions calm down. Moments later, Jing Feng¡¯s eyes slowly open. A blurry sight fills his eyes. Soon his eyes focus and he stares at the ceiling. Amazement is seen in his eyes as he open them wide as he stares at the blue ceiling because it is ornamented by sapphire and blue crystals. ¡°Where... am... I?¡± said Jing Feng in a quiet voice. ¡°You are in my temple.¡± said the goddess in a cold and detached voice. ¡°!!!¡± Jing Feng jumped in shock. ¡°Did you¡ save me?¡± asked Jing Feng warily. ¡°Yes. I did.¡± ¡°...Why?¡± ¡°Because when I look at you, it reminds me of h-... nevermind. You possess a pure soul, that is rare. I was attracted to your spirit¡± ¡°But I am a cripple¡? I don¡¯t have any spirit¡¡± ¡°Silly child. Who cares if your dantian is broken. That can be easily fixed. That doesn¡¯t have anything to do with spirits. Spirit is an ethereal form only accessible through a specific method. Most people have different shapes in spirit. However, your spirit is a rare form of divine spirit.¡± ¡°Did you say¡ that my dantians can be fixed?¡± asked Jing Feng with a gleam in his eyes as if forgetting the fact that the goddess mentioned that his spirit was a divine spirit. ¡°Of course, fixing a broken dantian is child¡¯s play for me. However that is not what it truly important, child you have a divine spirit of the Water Dragon¡± ¡°...divine spirit of the Water Dragon?¡± ¡°Yes the divine spirit of the Water Dragon. It is rare form of spirit that house the gentlest and purest of souls. I can heal your dantian, however, you must make an exchange with me¡± ¡°An exchange?¡± ¡°Yes, an exchange. You must face a trial. I have been searching for one of the dragon divine spirits of water. It is accepting an ancient pact that governs an ancient covenant!¡± ¡°Dragon divine spirits?¡± ¡°Other than you there are 8 other dragons spirits. These spirits are various dragon diving spirit elements: air, fire, earth, dark, light, metal, nature, and space. You must find eight other companions and venture to defeat the Grimms¡± Jing Feng clenched his fists. He did not understood the gravity of the goddess¡¯ words at the moment, however, he knew that the goddess would be able to change his fate of being a cripple. ¡°I don¡¯t want to be a cripple anymore!¡± shouted Jing Feng. ¡°Sigh¡¡± the goddess knew that Jing Feng did not take her words to heart. However she understood that an 11 years old boy that has been left alone by his peers and family does not know much about the world. ¡°You shall become my disciple for now until you can venture on your own¡± said the goddess in a calm manner. ¡°Yes!¡± cried Jing Feng. ¡°Now let¡¯s take care of your dantian.¡±
