In his life time he had rescued over 735 people and killed over 329 assassins that attempted to take his life. He was a nightmare for the underground world and all shady organizations. Sadly he was taken down by one of his own comrades that turned on him to save his daughter. Its not that Tom blames him its just he doesn''t understand how a father could continue working in that kind of environment and not take care of his own child. Finally the woman came back and looked at him with a hint of respect and veneration in her eyes. ¡° Thomas Avry died at age 36 had no family. What interested him the most was the dragon king that costed him 3000 points. The description explained he would be born as an egg and through his process of leveling he would have the option of evolving and no matter what path he chose he would in the end become a dragon king of that race. He thought that since he had already lived as a human and did what he could, why not go big and try a different race in a different world and see how it would turn out. He also chose to pick magic eyes, magic manipulation, physical resistance ability, morph ( which allowed him to morph into a person that looked more human like but would have horns on his head and would be as tall as a human his age), and last he chose the skill easy learner. These skills allowed him to see magic, manipulate magic, resist physical attacks better, turn into a human looking creature, and also learn new skills at a 200% pace. This would make him weak in the beginning but as he evolved and learned new skills he would be way stronger than any thing he could have chose for strong abilities. ¡°Thank you for spending your points the remaining points will be saved for the next time you reincarnate. Good luck with your new life!¡± after hearing this faint voice Tom fell into a deep sleep. When he awoke he felt like he was pinned in. He rolled around trying to get out of the walls that confined him. After a few minutes of struggling he finally heard a cracking noise and fell. The dazzling sun light rained down on him as he waited for his eyes to readjust. He looked around trying call out to people only to hear a cute little growl. Only then did he finally realize that he was truly a cute light king dragon. Knowing that he would be in trouble in this forest for a new born who had low stats he started burrowing through the ground under a giant tree. He was around 2 feet tall when he was on all four of his legs. This meant he could barely see anything and could only hide under ground from most preys till he knew what to do. He soon feel asleep after feeling fatigued from all the digging he did. Although they can make you accept a slave contract this will be void in a 24 hour time period as your dragon king blood doesn''t allow others to enslave you. Lastly you will see me until you evolve into a ¡°youth dragon¡± which is when you evolve to the point that your wings grow and your can fly.¡± explain Angie in a calm and collected voice. As Tom listened he finally understood a lot of things he had to do and knew he was in more danger than he originally thought he was in. He woke up and yawned with a cute sound coming out his mouth. He then looked around realizing he was starving. He wobbled around as he got out of his burrow and slowly looked around. He tried to stretch out his wings but learned they barely moved and his scales were softer than he had thought. He slowly walked around from bush to bush and finally saw a worm crawling around on the ground. The weird thing was that it was almost as big as him and that above its head was {lvl 1 red worm} seeing this he knew he had to be careful. He was weak and even a worm could possibly be dangerous. Tom pounced on it and swiped it with his claws, as he did a -5 appeared in front of him. He then swiped it with his tail and then bit its head making a -10 then a Crit -25 appear. After biting its head it finally stopped struggling and in his head he saw a + 10exp appear. This allowed him know that even worms were not simple and he gained exp from killing them. At this point though he really didn''t care he swallowed the worm after taking a few bites then quietly hide and started hunting again. By the end of the day he had killed over 6 red worms and even killed a slime that randomly appeared when he was killing a red worm. He was sure that he leveled up,but waited until that night to consult with the angel Angie on what she thinks he should do. He wobbled back to his burrow while thinking about the experience he had gained, one thing was that he had slowly gotten use to using 4 legs instead of 2. it was a little hard for him at first but as he wobbled around he finally got use to using them. He also learned that all though his scales were soft his claws were extremely sharp and using them to pierce some ones vitals caused critical attacks. For him the most unusual part was the fact that he couldn''t just rip their heads off. He couldn''t do anything that he thought was logical. This made it hard for him to accept coming from a world where he was use to being a one hit kill on his enemies. That night in his sleep Angie appeared again. He learned that he would evolve once he reached lvl 10, afterwords he would be reset levels but with higher base stats and also he would be able to evolve again after a certain lvl. Finally as the sun was sitting in the middle of the sky he reach the loud roars. Watching from the underbrush he found out that some humans were fight a steel backed bear. A bear like creature with crazy defense and offense but low agility. There was a shield bearer, a healer, and a spear-man. They all had on low level gear and were struggling to fend off the steal backed bear. ¡°Selphy run! There''s no way we can take this bear down please go get help!¡± yelled the shield bearer as he fended off a paw attack of the bear. Seeing this sight tom wanted to help, but didn''t know how so he kept hidden and watched for awhile. ¡° Brian no! I wont leave you! Im a healer im here to heal you guys in times like these. if I leave who else will heal you?! ¡° cried the girl named selphy. Tom growled as he used his flame breathe on the back of the steel backed bear and then ran around to another bush. The bear having actually taken damage, turned to look for its attacker but didn''t find anything. It roared furiously as if telling who ever the hell messed with him better back down. Tom growled quietly frustrated with the group in front of him! Those bunch of idiots! They didn''t even run when he gave them the chance to. He signed as he took a deep breathe then let out another flame breathe again, this time the steel backed bear turned around and stared at him through the bushes. Looking at the bear tom saw{steel backed bear lvl 8 hp 183}and he just smiled wryly as he let out a claw attack stabbing his red claws into the dragons back. He used his razor sharp teeth to bite into the bears neck then jumped off and ran into the under brush again hiding from the bear. Seeing this scene play out in front of them, Selphy and her party ran and healed each other preparing to attack it again. ¡° Brian what was that thing that attack the bear just now?¡± asked Selphy in a low voice. ¡° Some sort of dragon or maybe a lizard infant. Either way from its actions I can tell that its only attacked to help us out. Though im not sure why exactly.¡± replied Brian with a weird look on his face. ¡° well he probably cant fight that bear seeing how he ran away after attack, but he did more damage than any of us could have down or else the bear wouldn''t be so pissed off at the moment.¡± the tall slender man with the spear commented as he observed the steel backed bear. The shield bearer moved back in front and used his skill{taunt} to grab the bears attention after doing so the spear-man used his attacks to slowly lower the bears health while Selphy the healer used heal spells from the back. Tom took advantage of this time to use his{fast learner} skill to learn their skills. Then he looked back at the steel bear to see its stats which showed {steel backed bear lvl 8 hp 36}. Tom jumped out of the underbrush and unleashed a series a claw attacks into the head of the steel backed bear. Next he used a dragons breathe in its face that finally resulted in taking it down. In his mind appeared {exp gained 1000} &{level up, current level 9}. After killing the bear he took off its arms and slowly cooked them with his breathe . He continued on to eat the arms and watch the party of three around him. Seeing that they weren''t hostile he used his claw to write in the sand ¡° take what you need I just wanted food ¡°. Selphy was the first to notice this and giggled as she looked at the baby dragon curiously. It was a black dragon with red claws that looked like evil but had the face of a harmless creature. She slowly approached it and after getting close enough she played with its tiny horns. To tom he didn''t really care she was a cute girl with curly brown hair, around 17 years old, slender waist and slightly curved peeks . She was cute and lively but to his heart of stone it didn''t really move him, he just ignored it and kept on eating. Only when the spear man got near him did he finally look cautious. The spear-man put his spear into his magic bag then slowly approached tom. ¡° my name is Kaleb I mean you no harm I was only wondering if you could tell why you helped us?¡±(kaleb). Tom watched the man closely he seemed like the type of man who would work for benefits but would sacrifice others for his own life if he had to. He saw a flash of greed in Kaleb''s eyes even if it last less than a moment. Tom laughed inwardly to himself as he blended into the shadows of the forest growling as a warning. Later he followed the group to find out where the village was located. Selphy pouted her red lips then grabbed her gear and walking over to Brian''s side. After they cleared their wounds they decided it was time to head back to the village and turn in their loot for today to get money. Brian needed I better shield along with a new helmet. His shield was a beginner lvl 1 shield that had been with him for a few years. His helmet had been crushed by the steel back bear during their brutal battle. They then traveled diligently back to their village. Little did they know that behind them, Tom was following and marking the trees as he passed the time. They arrived at the village as the sky turn scarlet and the sun was letting the last of its light shine across the land. After Tom conformed the villages position he burrowed out some land in the forest about a mile from the village. Since he was close to leveling up to 10 he hunted some more demon beasts in the forest and leveled up before he went to sleep. Baby earth dragon ( slow but has extreme defense) baby flame dragon ( larger than most dragons and mainly uses flames) Baby shadow dragon (smaller dragon that is black and agile. Prefers dark magic) After thinking about his options slowly he decided to evolve into a shadow dragon. In his previous life he always worked from the shadows being quick and ruthless. As soon as he chose the shadow dragon darkness enveloped him and he lay their in silence. His skin felt like it was burning and itching and he could faintly hear his own bones cracking. By the time the shadow disappeared he had evolved into a small black dragon with a tinge of blue on him. When he layed in the shadows he felt safe and powerful, when he was out in the daylight he felt insecure and weaker. Closing my eyes I smiled to myself wondering what Angie¡¯s reaction would be when seeing me evolved. Seeing this I think I saw him shiver a little bit. Well I guess seeing someone that could monsters stronger than yourself then look at you with an innocent gaze would scare you. From the conversation I learn there was copper coins,silver coins and gold coins for the currency. 10 copper coins was 1 silver coin and 100 silver coins was 1 gold coin.we also sold the demonic core for 10 silver coins since apparently it was a rank 3 beast. I used the fangs to make into a necklace and then sold the claws for 2 silver total. Afterwards I bought light leather pants, leather armor with a white undershirt, and a magic bag that could hold up to 25 items. This cost me a total of 3 silver and 4 copper. Brian told me that this was the basic setup for adventurers and it would help me blend in with others better. From our later conversation I learned that Brian was a retired guard that had helped Selphy with her first adventure. Apparently Selphy is the noble of the village and the man I met earlier is trying to force a marriage on her. Not really my problem though , but who knows? Maybe I''ll end up saving her , I''ll leave it up to fate. I said my goodbye to Brian and headed towards the inn ¡°Moonlights Night¡±. The cost per night is 5 copper coins with breakfast included. While I was sipping on some sort of poor ale, I heard stories about different monsters in the forest and where to get maps, armor, and weapons. After it settled down I headed to my room and slept. I talked with Angie for awhile about what I should do or where a good place to go was. Apparently a war was about to happen which was a reason a lot of souls were being brought into my current world. In this world rogues could be hired to get jobs, or they could go to the town square where missions were posted. These missions were usually to hunt certain monsters or to join groups of caravans that passing from town to town. There was a total of 3 guilds the mercenary guild, merchant guild, and the last guild was the Elites guild. The mercenary guild took on the request while the merchant guild was for those who wanted to do trade of any kind. The Elites guild was a special guild where you were tested to see if you qualified to join. It was known for having special missions along with special offers on rare materials and equipment. For now I decided I would join the mercenary guild which allowed me to accept missions in the town square. They keep track of your missions completed and have a special system that calculates missions completed. If I get a certain amount completed I can exchange those ¡°points¡± for lessons, equipment, or a referral to join the Elites. For every mission completed that person would get 1 point. Hm in my past life I''ve always been interested in craftsmen, for now I''ll try aiming for 10 points to get the private lesson on blacksmithing. With that I could make my own equipment. Since I can morph I would need special armor for when I''m in dragon form. Also I need a special helmet because of my horns. Sigh so much to do and so little money to do it with. I guess for now I will focus on money and mercenary missions. With my mind made up I decided to go out of my room and eat breakfast. It was currently still early and the sunlight dimly illuminated the room. I ate some kind of soup with chicken in it known as rooster stew. After finishing my meal I cleaned up and head to the mercenary guild. The building was a three story building that looked rough but sturdy. The first thing I thought when I walked in was ¡°noisy¡±. A burly man stared at me while walked up to counter. When I got to the counter an elderly looking man with wrinkles met my gaze. ¡°hello young man what can I do for you today? Ah you can call me Joseph¡± said the elderly man. ¡°hello I''d like to join mercenary guild. Can you tell me how much it cost please?¡± I asked in an excited voice. ¡° that will cost you 1 copper coin along with writing your name. We have a special device that can use read your magic and give you the rest of your information is this alright? All information with be hidden from others and will not be shared, also your race doesn''t matter. Oh I almost forgot, when you complete a mission your card will turn green and when you fail your current mission it will turn red.¡± explained Joseph in old but loud voice. I then wrote my name and infused my magic power into the card and what filled in was Name: Thomas Avry Race: Baby shadow dragon Age:1 Power ranking:4 Complete missions:0 Failed missions: 0 After seeing this I smiled and put the card into my magical bag. The man then asked me if there was any missions I would like to take. Thinking for a few moments I decided to take some simple hunting missions. Mission: risk 1 hunt 10 slimes Mission: risk 2 hunt shadow wolves Mission: risk 1 recover 20 red worms for fishing bait. All these missions were repeatable and could be completed at any time. After I accepted them I decided to go look for a blacksmith for a sword. I bought a map from the mercenary guild then head to the recommended blacksmith. On my way there I bought a couple of snacks. One thing noticed is a lot of people seemed to stare at my horns. Guess most people have never seen anything like me before, although it''s not surprising considering I''m not really a Demi-human. I arrived at a sooty looking building with a board the said ¡° Jacks smithing¡± which was the place I was recommended to. I entered his shop which was noisy from a *bang* and *clang* in the background. I looked around to find a decent sword, but the most I could find in my price range was a {steel short sword +5 dmg}. It wasn''t much but I guess it will do. ¡°find what you need sunny boy?¡± ask a rigid voice from behind me. I turned around to are a robust man. Apparently he was a dwarf. He had rough large hands with a respectable white beard and blue eyes. I smiled and brought him the sword and handed him the 2 silver coins. ¡° I''ll take this sir¡± I told him. When I asked him if I could watch him forge some weapons he replied ¡° of course lad! Jus¡¯ be careful not to burn yer hands!¡±. I laughed and followed him to the back where he forged an iron knife, and bronze short sword, and a specialized spear type weapon with a spear head on both ends of a long stick. Time crept up on us while we were in our own little world. When Jack had finished I guess he saw how interested I was because he asked if I wanted to become his apprentice. Of course I said yes and told him that I would have to start in a few days because I still had some missions to complete. ¡°haha lad if ye want to work fer me ye need to pay yer own ores to work with¡± said Jack as he handed me a iron forging hammer and rough leather gloves.I was told to use them when making my own gear. Putting my new tools into my magic bag I decided to head out to the forest and sleep in my burrow foe the night. I still needed to test my dark magic and see how effective my shadow walker skill was. I made my way to the town gates and directly used the shadows of the night to travel back to my burrow. Once back I tried the most basic dark magic skill {shadow ball} it trapped it''s target in a shadow for 1 second and takes a small amount of their health. After testing this he hunted a the shadow wolves, red worms, and slimes. He took the fangs of the wolves as proof, the nucleus of slimes, and kept the red worms for the bait in his bag. After hunting these he made his way back to his small burrow and fell asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ sorry for the wait guys I did it on my phone enjoy.
