Here, they teach students to control armies and learn to how to fight both strategically and tactically in the battlefield. The best in class will often become the commander of a squad. (This is just like Starcraft II. I feel more like playing a game rather than studying.) Ben then forwarded the mother ship in the hologram out of enemy territory to retreat. Then secretly deployed a bomb at his enemy player. "GG" The bomb in the hologram burst and destroyed the other student''s incoming army. And earning Ben a win. The next class was¡­ PME or known as Physical and Martial Education. Here, everyone will learn to fight and duel with their partners. "Now, everyone! Prepare your stations! Find a partner and I will then give you further instructions! Ben went around to find a partner. And he found Christina. "Hey Christina! Do you mind if you partner with me?¡± "HM? Oh Ben! Long time no see. I''m rank A #9 y''know. Can you keep up with my dance, prince?¡± "We''ll never know if we don''t try, right?¡± Christina smiled and agreed. She will teach this man the difference between their powers. She is a rank A while this man is a rank B. There is just no way he can beat her. No one was ready to pair with her due to power difference anyway. Ben took out his specialized head phones. It can be said to be a kind of battle armor. But custom made by Ben''s and Hope''s tech and design. (Music are mysterious things. They can make your brain work in certain ways according to their tempo.) Ben thought as he put it on. He had been lent a battle armor. But he refused to use it. All he needs was a special hologram watch and an eyeglass for analyzing enemies and contacting allies. Christina started her battle signal. "Equipping battle armor, ... Complete. All hardware online. Software code has zero error. Begin manifestation of ¡± Light particles encircled Alice, and next next thing Ben knew the girl in front of him was wearing a battle armor. It is similar to extension of the arms and legs. But it doesn''t hide the body that much. So he could still see her main body and face. Ben was already wearing his headphones, and was choosing a song. He found one to his liking, and prepared for battle. "HM? Aren''t you going to equip a battle armor? It helps you calculate and protect you, your fighting power will decrease dramatically if you don''t wear one." "Oh, nevermind. I have my own way of fighting.¡± "Well then, don''t regret it!" The teacher announced the start of the practice, and Christina activated a rocket booster on her back. (Fast!) Ben wasn''t panicked. He lightly sidestepped. And dodged the incoming attack splendidly. He created a dark matter blade and cut off Christina''s left turbo booster. Christina retaliated back and shot 2 bomb shells at him. He created a wall of dark matter to guard himself. (He can create almost an infinite amount of dark matter?! This can get interesting...) Christina was now currently using ''only'' the battle armor''s fighting capabilities skillfully. Her battle armor has all in all a total of 3 stages. She was only using the first stage. The second has her esper powers involved. But the third... Is an ''evolved'' form of battle armor. Yes... She had already achieved that feat. Ben had known that usually rank A''s armor will have the capability to evolve. And it would be too troublesome to fight her in that state, so he activated a switch in his body. ''Hope'' had given him the access to the ability to create dark matter. But it was a little different from others. And that is¡­ Ben knows every property it contains, and can bend it to his will. The other espers who can create dark matter can''t really control it, so the examiners thought Ben to be similar, but he''s not. After all, his very clone body was made using dark matter. So now his body is ¡®human¡¯ but also not ¡®human¡¯. Ben created a new blade for slicing things apart. He manipulated it into a big whip, and he slammed it down at Christina. Christina was surprised at the sudden change in the shape of the whip. Never in history has there been any dark matter user who changed their dark matter that quickly. Boom! The ground below Christina was smashed open violently. She quickly gained her ground and shot an empty spell Ben. By shooting that, only the air came out, and blew Ben away without wasting an ammo. (Why can¡¯t I hit him!) Christina was shocked at how capable this man was. He wasn¡¯t even using too much dark matter, and he is truly an experienced fighter. She tried to swing her sword down at Ben, but he dodged and used his feet to kick her away. His feet was partly made of dark matter, so it is harder than steel, yet it is still a ¡®feet¡¯ when it is not a ¡®feet¡¯. ¡°Hmph, you are stronger than any dark matter user I¡¯ve ever seen. I will give you my praise by using my full power!¡± Christina went from the first and skipped the second stage, activating the third stage right away. This isn¡¯t an RPG game where the protagonist beats monsters as they slowly get stronger. Battle armor, as mentioned before, is a technology that can only be reverse-engineered and used by the espers. It is truly a weapon of the myths. But perhaps the strangest thing of all is perhaps their ability to evolve. Scientist have theorised that the esper¡¯s power somehow initiated something in the machine. Christina¡¯s armor then turned from yellow to gold. The luster of the armor shown out and hurt Ben¡¯s eye. Ben stared at the scene in wonder. Christina was quickly finished, and Ben saw her true armor form. Part 4 Ben stared at Christina in awe. The girl looked like a princess from heaven. She stared down at Ben as if he was nothing but a nuisance. Ben looked at her and daringly smiled. He showed no signs of fear, and activated a new song in his headphones. ¡°You still don¡¯t give up?¡± ¡°No¡± ¡°So be it¡± Christina¡¯s amor and her body slowly levitated into the sky, and then she activated her esper powers. She suddenly released an invisible blast, and blew Ben away. ¡°Kuh!¡± Ben made a dark matter cushion, that supported him and landed him safely. ¡°Well now, Ben. I have the esper power called Aero Handler. It lets me control the air and blast it towards my enemies. And also¡­¡± Christina released another shot of condensed of air behind her amor and blasted herself forward towards Ben. Ben dodged and he created a big shell of dark matter. And shot it towards Christina, blowing her away. Christina, however, already dodged using her evolved amor and shot a real shell cannon at Ben. The girl shot up into the sky, and tried to gain advantage in the air. But the boy did something unexpected. Ben created wings and flew up. The dark matter can become various energies that doesn¡¯t exist in the physical world. And it propelled Ben forward. He suddenly shot towards Christina and slashed his blade at her, but the golden amor had created a dark matter blade that was pre-made by other random dark matter espers. They clashed their swords and the blades created waves of blast. Destroying the ground below them. The instructor saw the scene unfolding and judged it to be too dangerous for the other students, so he blew the whistle to end their fight. ¡°Welp, too bad.¡± Ben retracted his wings and landed on the ground. He walked away casually. Christina was about to cancel her amor,when¡­ Crack! Her amor falled apart, as if cut by something sharp. She saw the terrible damage done to her amor and stared at the boy, this boy wasn¡¯t normal. He may be holding back while fighting her. And the day ended peacefully with Ben returning to his room. Chapter 3: Knowing the Academy Part 1 "Hey, Ben!" A small kid with a ponytail ran up to Ben. Ben was a normal student in the school. He was sixteen years old. And loved by childrens. "Oh hey, Star! How''re you doing?" The boy answered cheerfully, but the atmosphere around him seems stranger and more morbid today. Ben usually was a happy cheerful guy who played with Star since who knows when. His wisdom and intelligence in science is top-class. Especially biology. He always laughs and help others. But lately, the atmosphere around him seems stranger than usual. And he laughs lesser everyday. "What''s the matter, Ben?" The innocent little girl asked out in concern. The boy was staring at the television screen sadly. The girl''s eyeballs followed and she also watched the television. Once again, the Isis had caused another catastrophe. And many countries are starting a war on each other. Many innocents in Syria and the countries around it were mercilessly bombed by US and Russian drones. Ben could no longer bear it and shut down the news report television. The world was filled with malice. He hated himself for not ignoring it. If he was a bit more stupid, he can live a carefree life. "Ben, will the war start? Will we die?¡± Ben was surprised at those words, and he smiled. He patted the little girls head. Star was an orphan who had no mother or father, nor any relatives. "Star, I''ve used what little money I had to send you to England... I have already prepared a school for you.¡± "Eh! But I love Thailand!¡± "This is a serious matter... Please believe me. A huge disaster will happen. And I will be the one who caused it.¡± "You''re doing something bad?¡± "Yes and No. Star... I don''t want you to get caught up in this.¡± "You must come and meet me again okay?¡± "Okay." Ben lied to the pure girl. He knew he would die anyways from using ''Hope''. Star then was sent to study abroad. Not too many days later. The Cyclops appeared. And Star saw Ben''s face on the screen. She felt a new kind of power surged through her. But she doesn''t care and stared at Ben. The boy''s face was heavy with guilt and resolution. Over at Ben. He had activated ''Hope'' and was ready to die. But before he did, he thought about his promise with Star. And when he was about to disappear, ''Hope'' corresponded to his feelings and used his body and some dark matter to create a new ''Ben'' with the exact same personality and characteristics as Ben. The clone took time to finish and was instilled with some memory from Ben. And that was how it started. Part 2 (That dream again¡­) Ben woke up from his dream. And he breathed heavily. The memory of the real ''Ben'' was still lingering, and he disliked it. (Who was that little girl anyways?) He thought out slowly as he stood up. It was 6:30 in the morning on Saturday, and the red sun was already appearing over the horizon. Sarah was still sleeping soundly in her bed. Today was a holiday, so no rush was needed, Ben had a strange habit of waking up early. However. The lonely cloned boy to the veranda. And stared at the academy, this academy was filled with buildings, parks, dormitories, training grounds, etc. But the thing that stood out more than any other is probably the large arena in the centre of all buildings. It''s used to host tournaments in the school and such. Mark stared at the scene and enjoyed the breeze for a while. Before walking back to the room and touched the wall besides his bed. Luckily, internet still exists and Mark can still find his favorite stories that either were finished or left alone due to the author being dead from the assault. Ben cheerfully looked around the screen with interest. The way the world''s technology has evolved for multiple times made the teenager boy surprised. The normal everyday life memory from the old ''Ben'' is still as clear as day. Unfortunately, some of his most important memories were either blurred or erased. Ben stared at his body again, and he slowly walk out of the room to inspect the academy. Leaving the cute sleeping Sarah behind. He was still I awe no matter how many times he walked through the academy grounds. The whole place was lot up with special lights and fancy buildings. There were robots all around cleaning stuff up. Ben also realized one more thing. (There''s royalty!?) Looks like the people still needs a public figure to rely on at all times, and the royal family of Thailand still exist. Ben was a half blood between Thai and British. So his looks can be said to be a little odd. Thailand''s royalty is one of the few royalties around the world that did something memorable and benefitted the country despite the democracy government. The food culture of Thailand have truly spread since the war. He saw stands with Thai food and other foods in Asia all around. He of course gave them all a little try and was truly impressed. The people around may see Ben and thought of the man many years before. But the notion seemed too extreme and they dismissed it immediately. Ben can walk peacefully without attracting too much attention. "Hey, you over there!" A large boy suddenly walked over to Ben. The surrounding people knew that the A class lives to pick on the class lower than them. And averted their gaze. Mark was still busy eating and thus doesn''t notice the yell. And the large muscular boy closed in. "I heard you''re roommates with Sarah. I want you to hand over that authority to me immediately!¡± "HM? You want to sleep in my room? I''m sorry but I gotta decline. I like my room as it is. And packing things is annoying." Ben politely replied back to the big boy. And a vein seemed to pop in the mysterious boy''s face. "Do you know who I am, kid? I am Conner, A rank #17.¡± "Good for you.¡± "You dare mock me, Plebian!!!!" Conner raised his fist and smashed the ground. Ben had already by instinct dodged it and retreated away. He then saw the man I front of him getting larger. "My esper power increases the growth of muscle cells exponentially. The effect can be active for up to 30 minutes!!" Conner smashed the ground where Ben stood before dodging."and I will have immense regenerative power and strength in the span of this time!!¡± Ben had quickly retreated away and watched his enemy. Conner was now bulging with muscle. And he grew to seem like a gorilla. The hand that was wounded from smashing the ground was quickly healed. Ben then decided not to bother him any further. "I have no intention to fight with you. I am sorry for accidentally saying rash words¡± "Too late!!" Conner seemed to plan for Ben to retaliate with his words in the first place. He wants to show dominance to the new students to protect his own authority. (Fighting him would be too troublesome. And attract too much attention.) Ben thought and decided to slowly stall the gorilla for 30 minutes. They were about to engage when a loud sound that of a woman was voiced out. "This is the disciplinary committee. According to code 08 of the esper academy institute. No infighting in the school is allowed unless it is arranged in the arena or training ground, allowed by the teacher, or an emergency situation extreme enough to lift the code!" Selendis suddenly stepped out from the crowd of onlookers. Her rank was B 06, pretty high than most people. "Tch! Remember this, plebian!" Conner stomped away wildly, his bulging muscles slowly receding into his body until his size was normal again. Ben stared at him and moved his eyesight to his savoir. "Thanks Selendis.¡± "It''s normal, those A ranks loves to think of themselves as gods or deities, and boss around usually. This event is normal in the academy." Selendis proudly puffed out her near-flat chest. She seems to be proud of her disciplinary work. "Well, since you''re here. Can you bring me to some other places in this academy?¡± "HM? Sure, the disciplinary committee must always support a lost student!" With that, Ben and the beautiful girl with black hair went towards the shopping centre. "Now that I''ve think of it, you are one of the few who haven''t got their hair colored... You know, changed.¡± "Well, I can be considered rare in this case. You also have a black hair though.¡± "Haha, its just luck. What is your esper power anyways?" The boy decided to change the subject into something else and kept the conversation flowing smoothly. "My power is I can analyze the power of the people who is my opponent and judge what to do," Selendis answered "but I fight using my battle suit better than most, that''s mainly the reason I''m the top in B rank.¡± "Hoh~ that''s cool." Ben praised the girl as he goes on. The suits will automatically try to compromise with the wearer, but in rare cases it will evolve. The shopping centre was filled with different kinds of genres. Food, clothing, jewelry, etc. Ben was guided first into a book store. The books here were more focused on teenagers. It is an academy, after all. Ben was relieved that many of his favorite series were still available. The next place they visited were the food shop. The food in here are already mostly tried by Ben. But Selendis insisted that they visit the famous shop. The menus are really expensive, however. "I can take care of this." Selendis was proudly picking up her wallet. Usually, moneys are given to students according to ranks and jobs taken. There is an annual income for each rank from S to D, S gets the highest while D got the lowest income. But being a disciplinary committee member had gotten Selendis extra cash. Selendis was quite a rich girl, you can say. She had toured Ben throughout the academy without the fears of lightening up her wallet. "So are you, Christina, and Alice teammates?" "Yes! I usually analyze the Cyclops and Drags and tell the other two how to fight with it most effectively. Alicia''s power is , and she can literally lift boulders from the ground. She uses it only when she is extremely serious. I''ve rarely seen her doing it though. Alicia hates Cyclops more than any of us because her parents were killed in the first assault.¡± ¡°Oh..." "Well, anyways, tours over! Its getting late so you should go to your room too!" Selendis cheerfully said as she had already finished her meal on the table. "Well, Thanks for the tour today.¡± "No problem~¡± Part 3 Sarah was staring at the mirror. Her hair was pure white like her pale skin. Her chest wasn''t too big, but her beauty could make any man drool. Usually, people will look at her as if she wasn''t human in the first place, like an angel saving a lost sheep according to Christian ways. But Ben treated her as a normal girl for the first time in her life. And her life had been slowly changed. Ben had been making fun of her, teasing her, playing cards with her, and cheerfully talk to her like any other girl. And doesn''t care whether she was an S or a D. And she felt... Strange, like a ripple spreading in her. Now, Ben wasn''t on his bed this morning, so it had been a boring day than usual. She had always subconsciously looked forward to having a time with Ben. Ben casually took out all the biscuits he had and handed them to Sarah. Sarah was a little shocked and slowly reached for the cookies. "Where did you go today?¡± "Oh, I went with Selendis on a trip to the academy grounds. We went to various places around the city, it was really fun!" Ben jovially said out as he grabbed a piece of cookie and nibbled on it. "You could have asked me..." Sarah whispered to herself. "HM, what?¡± ¡°Nothing!" "Oh well¡­" "ATTENTION, ALL STUDENTS BELOW B #20 RANK WILL GO TO THE EVACUATION CENTER IMMEDIATELY! REPEAT CYCLOPS ARE ATTACKING THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, ALL STUDENTS BELOW B #20 MUST EVACUATE!¡± A loud voice from the announcer suddenly rippled through the academy. Sarah suddenly showed a serious expression. She quickly went to the back room and prepared her suit. ¡°Hm? An attack? I thought the academy was¡­¡± ¡°No time to talk, you should run away immediately! If those monsters were able to reach here, you would be in grave danger!¡± Sarah ordered Mark to run away while she will fight this monstrosity. Deep in her heart, she doesn¡¯t want the boy to die on her. ¡°Okay~ I¡¯ll go to the evacuation centre then, where is it by the way?¡± ¡°Near the main building in the 8th or 9th district I think.¡± ¡°Thanks~¡± Sarah shot out of the window with high speed. S rank can do anything they desire if the level of danger exceeds a certain point. Sarah activated her boosters and bursted through the academy gates. The cyclops army was far huger than she had thought. Luckily they were made of class B and Cs, so it made things much easier. Sarah activated her esper power and suddenly, a large amount of cyclops collapsed to the ground. Sarah¡¯s amor was evolving, it is turning into a new kind of stage. Sarah¡¯s power is now influencing the amor into the esper form she desired. The amor turned green and Sara said out her honour word. ¡°The amor world¡¯s law is my power, Gravity control!!!¡± Hoards cyclops were crushed with that power. And they felled. This is the true power of the S rank class 5. Sarah can easily destroy an army of class B and C cyclops easily. Then a new terror appeared. It was a class A cyclops. Its huge size can make a man cower in fear as it strides through the line of cyclops corpse. ¡°Mother ship, enroute. Warrior Sarah, please move back as we commence purification of these beasts. Mother core charging up in power, 70% ready to fire a class 3 laser in 4 minutes. Prepare for countdown.¡± Sarah in her glittering green amor retreated as the class A cyclops army kept on closing in. Class A have a very strong power to destroy enemies and resist esper powers. Sarah could kill them all in one turn but that would require too much concentration and time. But the mother ship can do the job much more effectively. ¡°Fire!!¡± A large beam of laser powered by 2 nuclear fusion reactors in the ship wiped out the class A in a swift. After that, there were many squads of dispatched form the mother ship, one of them is Alicia¡¯s squad. A famous squad said to rival even an S rank when banded. Alicia instantly lifted a huge rock from the ground and tossed it at the cyclops army. The army was pelted by rains of huge boulders. Alicia¡¯s telekinesis powers is truly something to be feared. Selendis is now analysing the enemy as she controlled her amor to fight with the cyclops. Christina is just casually blasting away the enemies. This section apparently is one of the many which were attacked. Cyclops were ravaging the academy but many mother ships are already dispatched to engage and take them down one by one. Sarah was sure that nothing would stop them from winning until¡­ ¡°GRRRRRR GOOOOORRRORRO!!!!!¡± A roar that seems to pierce the heavens was heard throughout the academy. Sarah stared at shock and heard a loud Boom! behind her. The mothership was attacked by something and it fall down. The mothership? In one shot? Sarah and the Alicia¡¯s squad looked back and saw what took down the mothership. It was something that shouldn¡¯t go unnoticed till now, yes it was a Class B Drag. Drags are creatures that are different from cyclops. It has more intelligence, and some can converse if it is in Class A-S. Class B drags needed 15 A ranks or 60 B ranks to defeat them. And requires 2 S rank. However, that is the case if there ¡®was¡¯ only 1 B class Drag. 2 more emerged from the pile of cyclops corpses below. Its number is growing terrifyingly as it emerged. Sarah knew that the place she currently was protecting is one of the most important point since it is very near to the evacuation shelter where B # 50 ranks and below are staying. Including Ben. Sarah knew she can¡¯t stop now, and Alicia¡¯s squad is still fighting. They also knew how important their positions are. The drag shot out more rays of plasma. The rays can pulverise almost anything. It is a one hit kill KO. It¡¯s large body towers over the warriors and they continued to fight with no restraint. Sarah had at times increased the gravity in certain places to push the monster down, but it kept on coming back because of its enormous strength and large size. The fight between the and the has begun. Part 4 Ben is not in the evacuation shelter. Right now, he was cloaked in a thin layer of dark matter. Dark matter doesn¡¯t reflect light. Its parameters doesn¡¯t allow it to. Ben was using his transparent wings to fly around the academy. Right now, he may look like a black spot in the sky, but most people will ignore something that isn¡¯t detectable by radar. The cyclops are truly dangerous. Its power is obviously above human¡¯s. Ben watched as he flew around. Sometimes he will interfere a little to keep the alive, but mostly just watched. Ben doesn¡¯t want to attract too much attention. The boy just watched on until¡­ Part 5 ¡°Kuh!!!¡± The huge monster swung its humongous arm at a terrifying speed at Christina. Christina used an air burst to propel herself away from it just in time. They had been fighting this monster for more than 10 minutes now, but it showed no signs of weakness. ¡°Please wait, our capital fleet will reach you soon!!!¡± A voice from a speaker near her head spoke out and in the background she heard the sound of the mothership¡¯s engine working itself. The fleet surely can take down the 2 remaining Drags, but it will not arrive in time at this rate. At least they destroyed one Drag, but that exhausted them to a dangerous amount. ¡°Make it fast, we can¡¯t hold on these beasts much longer! Tch!!¡± Alice also encouraged the mothership. The only reason they¡¯re still alive is due to Sarah helping to stop the monster in certain places and Selendis analysing its moves. ¡°Ah!!!¡± Christina was blown away by a kinetic shell from the monster. She crashed into the floor and quickly retreated. They can¡¯t hold out for much longer, at this rate¡­ (We¡¯ll be killed and the shelter-!) Sarah saw one of the Drag destroyed the walls, and entered the academy, she closes her eyes as it shot another plasma beam at the shelter when¡­ ¡°Welp, looks like I made it just in time.¡± BOOM! The drag was suddenly blown backwards by a mysterious figure. He had a white cloak all over his body, hiding his face and eyes. The man suddenly grew wings and a mysterious substance flew up above. It condenses and merged itself into something like a large cannon. ¡°¡± A huge shell suddenly shot out and smashed into the 2 remaining Drags. It blew them away and they fell to the ground. The cloaked white man with a hood then looked at them with great interest. ¡°Hm¡­ Not enough to pierce them¡­ What energy should I use to kill them then?¡± Dark matter makes up the universe more than Atoms. They are not something that theoretically exists. It is something that shouldn¡¯t exist. ¡°Well, lets try this then¡± Ben¡¯s wings spreader out far and wide, before it all turn sharp and shot down at the Drags with intense speed. The drags roared in pain as the humongous rain of sharp bullets kept on hitting them. The drags tried to shoot back plasmas and strange liquid substance capable of melting any armor. But that doesn¡¯t apply to Ben¡¯s dark matter. Ben looked at them, and he created a huge hammer made of Dark Matter before smashing it down at the Drags. The Drags tried to retaliate and roared in wrath. Ben then once again looked at the enemy. He slowly raised his hands and the wings spreader out. Dark Matter can become just about anything. Including terrifying weapons. The wings then shot out rays of lasers at the Drags. The drags were rained down by the immeasurable amount of lasers. It quickly retreated and it still continued trying to fight back. Ben hasn¡¯t used his trump card yet, but he saw how dangerous things are getting, so he decided to ask the girls for help. He knew his own limits, and the drags will be hard to bring down even with ¡°Unbelievable¡­¡± Selendis stared at the scene in horror. But she knew that the Drags won¡¯t be stopped so easily, until a sound came from her speaker. ¡°Um¡­ I¡¯m lazy so can you do your fusion attack thing? It¡¯ll make things quicker.¡± Sarah heard it and immdieatly called for the others to gather. There is an attack that can only be activated by the amor by combining the raw power of the arbor¡¯s generators. Alicia continued to stare before she also joined with her squad. The angel looking man was still shooting big shells at the Drag, and slowly wearing it down. He looked bored at the encounter, and paid the Drag no heed. The special weapon continued charging on and on. But the mysterious man was still there, he is constantly pushing the monsters back with out any sweat visually seen on his face. Then, after some time without interference, the charging was finally finished. ¡°!!!!>¡± The power was already finished charging up and a huge wave of raw esper power shot out towards the Drags. The power was raw esper, no change. Just raw, but very effective in targeting huge targets. Global warming had been solved in a blink of an eye with the invention of these reactors and the sudden drop in human number. Ben stared at the power core in that radiates with power. It was covered by a special wall made using nanotechnology that is said to be able to block anything, even nuclear. "The ship can be powered by using only one core, the reason we have up to three is just in case one malfunction. And the other is for shooting the purifier beam. A high energy beam that can immediately demolish almost every Cyclops or Drags on the world." Selendis explained as she pulled Ben closer the the window. She ran to the karaoke sections and sang a rock songs with very extreme melodies. Ben closed his ears at the intensity and endured till the end. They visited various other parts, like the propeller that flies the ship using magnetic force. And some other practical weapons specializing for each situations, including missiles, bombs, homing missiles, tactical torpedo, and many other strange weapons. It truly gave sense of a real battleship. It looks like the purifier beam is still the king of all though. They toured for the rest of the day until saying goodbye. Part 10 "So? Where in the hell did you go Ben?" Sarah was now growing horns of anger. She haven''t seen Ben for the whole day after he went off to the cafe. "Well, Selendis found out who I am and let me tour around the ship for a bit." Ben honestly confessed and was curious why Sarah was so angry. "You could have asked me.mmm..." A voice spoke out in the dark alley of New York academy. It was from a large machine with eight legs, yet it has no sound of movement and seems to blend into the dark. The boy stood silently, watching the new model #47 . The guns and multiple different kinds of weapons were surrounding its body, it was a machine specified for causing panicks and problems. "No answer, did you already know about your eventual fate of dying? Well, don''t be scared, I will study your body well and know where you come from eventually. I''ll have mercy and let you die QUICKLY!!!!!" The spider''s large arm/legs swung down at the boy with high speed. But then, it passed right through him and hot the ground beneath him. BAAAMM!!! The debris scattered around in all directions, but the boy was no longer there, instead, he was on top of the new model machine. "How disappointing, I thought a new model would be better than this junk, oh well, no new discoveries for me today." The boy casually said out and suddenly, the spider burst up into pieces. A sound of a normal gun was out before this process started. If one were to look carefully, the machine was covered by a thin layer of ice. He was sinking slowly in despair, and wakes up panting hard. Part 13 The Nezzica slowly approached the main base of the Monsterous beasts, the Hatchery. This place is the place that breeds different Cyclops, but it can''t breed Drags. It''s named after a base in a certain game. The hatchery itself could be said to be ''alive''. It was pulsing with life, as if breathing. Cyclops and Drags are silicon-based beings, according to the official statement. Sarah was on the veranda that is covered by a force field that protects her from almost anything, including air pressure. She looked at the infested buildings below. It was covered by a strange murky liquid that seems to feed the little ''eggs'' and ''youngling'' below. It was the cyclop''s food, after all. The Nezzica was on a cloak mode, and it can''t be detected for a while, this time, their goal is to destroy this and all the remaining hatcheries around. But¡­ "Impossible... A lair!?" The captain of the ship saw a large base that is thrice as large as the Hatchery. It was a Lair, a base for producing low-level class C drags. If this basr is allowed to grow a level higher, it would be a dangerous event. The European union would be attacked heavily. They need to destroy it, now. "Alert the crew about this, and cancel the cloak to charge up the thermal lance. All laser systems to be put online in 5 minutes. Deploy our ''savior'' to guard the mother ship while we charge up!" The enemy would detect the thermal hear anyways, so giving up the cloak makes no difference excel wasting even more energy. "Captain! 3 Bombarders coming our way! They are reaching assaulting range in 4 minutes!" Bombarders are a different strain of Cyclops that specializes in air attack. "Change the vector of our ship to manuvering mode! Those basta*ds will snipe us down in minutes if we get hit!¡± BAMMM! The ship trembled at the attack. The attacks are hardened heavy shells of skletons. The base is obviously not carbon, but silicon. It fired one shell after another, damaging the mother ship. "We can''t let those bastards do us in alone! Lock on target! We shall launch the missiles on my Mark!!!... Fire!!!!!!!" 4 missiles were launched out of the mother ship, and it slammed into the monsters. The Cyclops were bombarded and pulverized into thin air. The air trembled before the mighty explosion of the homing missiles. "3 hit! 1 miss captain! Enemy vessel closing in! Shipfall to be expected in 5...4...3...2....1!" BAAAM!!!! The flying Cyclops slammed into the mother ship, many crew was thrown about randomly, they were taken by surprise. "Shields left at 20%! The drags musn''t yet be deployed, they are too rare, and the ''Lair'' can''t just breed it. But it requires human with enough malice in the heart. Yes, ''it'' and the other Cyclops are after all, created by all the malice of humanity. They are just the creature they are. But by humans with strong esper abilities and unique malices, they were able to create a higher being, the Drags. Although second to the ''Central'', it is still considered the strongest warriors they had. Then ''it'' sensed a power signature never seen before. It was similar to other humans, yet different. The energy was something foreign, something that shouldn''t exist or possible. This enemy was dangerous, the ''it'' was sure. He sent this information to every single ''mind'' in case ''it'' fails to kill it. Possibly, ''it'' may need to reveal itself. Part 15 Sarah was now hovering above the sky, she glared at the different strains of Cyclops. This much diversity is strange, but usual near the lair and hatchery. She made a small gravity barrier around herself. It will crush everything that approached her at a near distance. She had already manifested her sword and it was as light as snow. This is due to gravity manipulation making it that way. She can increase the gravity if she swung down her sword by ten folds, and crush her enemies. She accelerates herself towards the abomination below, and prepared her gear. All weapon systems are online, and she fired 2 normal missiles away. It exploded in mid-air and blocked the Cyclop¡¯s vision. It panicked for a while before Sarah closed in and increased the gravity in her sword by ten folds, then swinging it down. SWISH! The beast cleanly got chopped in half. And it crash-landed into the battle field below, Alicia, Selendis, and Christina are currently fending off the attack on the ground below while the mother ship is sending down supplies to make a temporary base, a base setting in an enemy territory is usually not recommended due to the process of building. At least that was before mother-ships and fast resupply is built. It made setting up a base easier and faster, until the cyclops also came and destroyed it with pure force. The Saviours are there for this very reason, to guard it while they are quickly setting up a base. Alicia was now lifting Cyclops and smashing it together to make a deathball, then rolling it towards her enemies. Cyclops toppled over row after rows, and Christina shot burst of hardened air at the cyclops that flinched. The Cyclops kept closing in one after another. But Sarah had slowed down them dramatically with her powers to manipulate gravity. But she was currently dealing the big guns. Rank S are the strongest, and they work alone because of their immeasurable strength. Sara sliced one after another the Rank As, and some Rare Rank Ss Cyclops. Rank S are hard to deal with, so she also needs the fire power of the mother-ship for support. Then, suddenly, two Rank S burst out from the ground below, they were the Goth strain. And their speciality is tunneling. If they are allowed to live for too long, they would sabotage the newly built base. The reason these different strains of monsters didn¡¯t attack the academy was because only A ranks can change into a different strain. And they take time and resources to build. Well, that only applies to somewhere far form the Lair and the Hatchery. Then, a majestic white figure crashed down upon the Goths, and smashing it to mince meat. The figure spread out his pure white wings, and he looked down upon his enemies. The Cyclops suddenly lost focus on anything else. Like their very genes tell them how dangerous this man is. They sensed a strong opposition and looked at the white figure. Right, they were something created by ¡®Rift¡¯, something that should¡¯ve been deemed impossible, but here they are, staring at <¡®Hope¡¯>¡¯s proudest creation. How could the cyclops look over this creation. This has not only ¡®Hope¡¯, but also ¡®Rift¡¯. He had both powers, and that is because, he was the clone of the man who summoned both ¡®Hope¡¯ and ¡®despair/rift¡¯ in the first place. ¡®It¡¯ looked at the figure, and recognised how dangerous this foe is. And then slowly calculated, if this thing is allowed to continue existing, the ¡®Rift¡¯¡¯s grand plans can¡¯t be realised. The Rift must attack that. They already almost have enough forces to wipe out humanity. But all that was left, is this last grain of humanity¡¯s hope. Ben. And one candidate for a drag creation. Part 16 Ben had just single-handedly killed four drags, but what terrifies him most was something else. Alicia was showing a strange expression, her face was the one of despair. Like she knew what was coming, and was shaking in terror. Then her face twisted in pain. Hatred, Grief, despair, all of these emotions were welling up in her. Something was assaulting her brain, installing memories about when she ran away while her parents died. She remembered all of it. She was breaking down. Then she heard a sweet, tempting voice. Do you want to be free? Do you want to forget all of this despair? To give up on this horrendous world and no longer carry the burden? Do you want to meet your parents again? If someone was to summarise it in one word. It would be god. Alicia was given a choice, to abandon her guilt. And live a free life. The ¡®god¡¯ was soothing her, filling her and told her she would be alright. Filling her with memories with her parents. The ¡®god¡¯ was giving her illusions of a perfect world. (No!) She quietly thought out, as if her mind was muddled up, and she was unable to think clearly. She gave up and was almost giving in to the temptation. Ben saw a strange phenomenon, suddenly, Alicia¡¯s body pulsed, suddenly, something burst out from her back, She was crouching down, making a praying stance, as if praising something. Suddenly, a wave of information entered his brain. It was as if it was there all along, just seems to pop out of his subconciousness. Memories from unknown origin assault his brains. He knew what was happening to Alicia, she was turning into a Drag. Ben shot towards Alicia with immense speed, using his dark matter wings to make new energies that shouldn¡¯t exist. Alicia was now slowly changing, her body was getting hot and sweaty. Ben landed down besides her, and grabbed her head. Alicia¡¯s eyes were hallow, she was not even looking at him. She was looking at nothing. Ben created a huge imprenetratable wall of Dark Matter, it takes a lot out of his power, and he was exhausted from using it, yet it is necessary. Then, he used his Dark Matter to create a leeway to her brain. It was like looking into her spirit. Yes, he was looking into her memories. Bright light shown, and what he saw was stunning. A warm scene of an adult male and female caressing a cute little child. This was one of Alicia¡¯s main memories. He looked on, and discovered that the little child with red hair was Alicia. She was having a happy tea party with her family, enjoying the cheap cheese cake. Ben smiled at the sweet scene, before remembering what he came here for. ¡®Rift¡¯ was created from Malice, so to destroy it, ¡®Hope¡¯ was needed. Ben ventured through the thousands of memories. Usually they were childhood ones, and happy. Then he entered found something similar to a locked wall. He slowly forced it apart and what he saw was¡­ ¡°No, NOO, Mama, Papa, don¡¯t go!¡± She was being pulled away by an unknown person away from the city she was living in. Her parents were still in there, but she was forced to evacuate. She cried, and lamented. She tried to run back, but failed to. Ben looked as the cyclops tore through the city. Killing all the people within. Ben looked at the scene in horror. He felt a huge wave of guilt coming in his way. This was all his previous self¡¯s fault. But the burden still weighs heavily upon him. He exited the room and go on. Alicia started growing up, becoming an esper. Entering the academy, and joining Eelendis¡¯s squad. And then¡­ A large black mist covered the scene, eating away the happy memories and emphasising more and more of the bad memories. Ben knew what it was, ¡®Hope¡¯ had given him all the information he needed. Alicia¡¯s body was there crouching down, crying, and the black mist continued entering her head. You left your parents¡­ ¡°No, they were unable to be saved!¡± You have no one¡­ ¡°But, Selendis¡­¡± Alicia was fighting a losing battle against the black mist. It was thrashing around her precious memories, ripping off her defences and excuses. Making her just another weak girl. Ben closed in and he lifted his hands slowly, the ¡®it¡¯ was then quickly blown away. Alicia stopped crying, and she was panting hardly. Ben closed in on ¡®it¡¯. Impossible, how could someone enter the mind¡¯s realm!?!?! The panicked ¡®it¡¯ took shape of something terrifying, but Ben blew it away again. He wasn¡¯t afraid, and he continued pushing ¡®it¡¯ away. The ¡®it¡¯ make its last stand. And took a large form to kill him. But Ben just swipe his hands and the ¡®it¡¯ was blasted away, dissipating into normal mist. Alicia was still there, crying. Mourning for her family. Ben closed in and he knelt down besides her. ¡°Its ok¡­¡± That was all he could say to the crying girl. Part 17 ¡°Hm?¡± Alice opened her eyes, there were still tears trailing down her eyes, but what had just transpired seemed more like a dream then reality. She had faint memories of her parents dying. But then, when she was about to give up, fresh memories of the love her parents gave her came rushing back again. Then, she noticed the sky, no, the area around her was pure white. And a man was standing besides her. ¡°Oh, so you¡¯ve woken up.¡± Ben cheerfully looked at Alice. The situation outside was still furious, but the humans are winning. ¡°Who, are you? Wait¡­¡± Alicia asked the boy. Then the memories from just now, matching with the boy perfectly. She remembered now, this boy was Ben. ¡°Ben?¡± ¡°lol, so you found out. It was kinda hard bringing you back, but looks like I made it just in time.¡± The smiling boy was jovially replying. He had wings from his back, and looked around as if it was natural for him to be here. ¡°What happened to me?¡± ¡°Well¡­ you kinda was going turning into a drag. So I must come in and stop you first,¡± Ben said out as he checked Alicia¡¯s condition. Everything was normal, except, ¡°but looks some features still remained.¡± Ben pointed at the pointy wings sprouting from Alicia¡¯s back. Alicia looked at it, and she tried to use her mind to move it. It started swinging, and she excitedly looked at it. ¡°Now now now, playtime¡¯s over~ let¡¯s get going.¡± Ben recloaked his Jacket, and he covered his face again. Alicia looked around, the white wall was breaking apart, and cracks were appearing all over the place. Alicia was still confused, and was about to ask Ben further questions, but¡­ ¡°Wait!¡± The moment the walls broke down, sounds of battle returned. She instinctively put up her amor, and Ben was gone from sight. She showed an annoyed expression, and continued joining Christina in her fight. Ben had already exited the battlefield, seeing that they are winning, and plans to answer later. Alicia had already joined up with the others. They inquired her about her wings and her sudden vanishing. Surprisingly, no one seems to see the white barrier. So she refrained from mentioning Ben or about the strange turmoil in her brain, nor the real origin of her wings. The Cyclops and drags are already starting to retreat. After ''it'' was blown away by Ben. It ordered a retreat due to the fear for Ben. Ben was already back on Sarah''s room. Secretly reading a comic book. Sarah smashed down another class C Drags with ease. And she slaughtered the Cyclops one after another. Christina continued blasting away the Cyclops, luckily, with the temporary base completed, they got immediately supported when needed. The hard part was over, and they continued wiping away the monsters. Selendis sensed the growing power in the mother ship reaching its peak. Now, it was completely charged and ready to fire. The saviours retreated back and looked forward to the spectacular sight. -meanwhile- "So what was ''that''. Liutenant?" The captain of Nezzica questioned his eyes. The radar just now showed a certain area suddenly being influctuated with power. Something incomprehensible was there. But it suddenly disappeared. The captain gave up and resumed his main work.
