《Space Games: Training Phase》 Chapter 1: Space Ride to Santo Paulo Looking at my home world called earth for a final time, the rockets blasted off and the space shuttle was launched into space. My name is B.E.O.R.G.E.L. but I prefer to be called Beo. No my name isn''t an acronym or anything of the sorts but its a very dear name to me. The locket I hold in my hand shows a picture of a woman hugging a boy and a girl, all three smiling for the camera. The woman had short-cropped silver hair and platinum eyes. wearing a white cardigan over a green sweater and simple jeans. Her skin seemed like glass as it was smooth and shiny, no blemishes, scars, or any other object showed a hint of damaging the skin. Her smile was almost perfect, with the all white teeth in two neat rows with the exception of two fang overhangs. The two children seemed to be related as the boy had platinum eyes and silver hair with it in a simple military styled buzz cut. His skin was partially scarred and he wore the emerald and blue blazer of a school named [Sunterhill Academy]. The girl had the near perfect smile and skin of the woman, her eyes flashed a brilliant emerald and her hair was dyed teal with silver hair at the roots. The hair was fashioned into a fish tail braid, and was also wearing a [Sunterhill Academy] uniform. the boy had hardened eyes but they had a secretive glint and a hint of caring in them while the girl''s eyes were cold and calculating, yet charming and fun. I closed the locket and looked at the fleeting earth as G-force was replaced by zero gravity. I floated in his seat and a low type of gravity took place. "You may now roam about the cabin, I will inform you when we near the station" a female A.I.''s voice speaks and I unclipped the seat buckle and proceed to move toward the back of the shuttle where I could see the fleeting remains of Earth. As the Earth disappeared in the emptiness of space, a girl jumped me and with a laugh she flipped me, sending my flying through the low gravity. " Thalia please, I am trying to enjoy my moment" I cried as I collided with the wall and sunk down to the floor. Since it was low gravity it didn''t hurt that much, but I could still feel a bruise sprouting up. "Come on Beo, why can''t I have a bit of fun now and again, are you saying you don''t love me" Thalia giggled, and she flashed me her perfect smile. "Thalia, mother said even if your joking, don''t make suggestive and misunderstood intentions or phrases" I complained to her. Thalia squatted down to pat my head and then sprung up saying "Oh no worries, no one will misunderstand my love for you" she giggled and dashed off to another compartment. "What am I going to do with you" I groaned That girl, Thalia, was my sister. In truth her name would be T.H.A.L.E.E.N.A. but she preferred to be called Thalia and such, I always call her by that name. Her teal hair was bouncing and the fish tail braid fluttered in the low gravity. I was chasing after her to make sure she wouldn''t do anything crazy when a person decided to stick out their foot to trip me. I jumped to avoid it only to find myself jumping to high and crashed into the ceiling. A wave of laughter erupted and I sank to the floor, a few people standing above me. "Beorgel, what an interesting name, where did you get it, from the trash?" a person asked with a sneer on his face. "I don''t understand what you want, but I need to find my sister" I replied, making an attempt to push past the person but he just threw me down. "Don''t even think about going anywhere you filth, Silver hair, Platinum eyes, your one of them aren''t you boy" the person yelled. "So what if I am, I didn''t do anything" I shouted back at the boy and tried to get past him again. This time two people rushed me and pinned me to the wall. "Trying to run again, even after I told you not to bother, how arrogant can you be" the person sneered and he punched him in the guts. Punch after punch, till I was kneeling over gagging. "Ha ha ha, you think your better than us don''t you, you think that we are worthless, nothing but trash, but whose the trash now huh, WHO IS IT, ANSWER ME" the person laughed madly and then he uttered out a cry of pain. Looking up through watery eyes I see the blurred outline of my sister , her nails covered in blood and the person who was taunting and punching me now had five scratches down the side of his face. "You bitch, what do you think your doing, You can''t touch me like that" the person muttered crazily, and Thalia kicked him in his third leg. "Oooh" the crowd uttered and Thalia pulled me up, dragging me away from the crowd and no one made an attempt to follow. "That bastard, who does he think he is, claiming we are better than them, I would laugh in his face all day if he wasn''t the minister''s son." Thalia bared her teeth at someone passing by and kept punching the wall along the way. "Sister calm down, he didn''t mean anything" I tried to comfort her but she lashed out at me. "He didn''t mean anything, HE didn''t mean anything. HE DIDN''T MEAN ANYTHING, Beo this is the REASON why people get their way with you. You are to passive, you are optimistic, you do not think or act on your own" Thalia ranted and she lashed out, her fist almost hitting my face. "Sorry, it was impulse, you know that when I get angry I like to hit things" Thalia murmured. "Its alright sister, just calm down, even though we were shipped out just a few moments ago, we should be arriving at the station soon, we might not even be stationed in the same quarter as that guy, by the way you said you knew who he was, so can you explain to me who he is?" I whispered to Thalia, embracing her in a hug. "The boy''s code would be A.D.A.M.A.N.T.I.S but he is called Adam, and like a mantis, he likes to quickly strike at unsuspecting prey. He is the son of the governor of the Lima Sector, where... Mom lives." Thalia explains. "So If he has his dad look us up and finds out Mother lives in his sector, what do you think he will do?" I panicked. Thalia slapped me across the face and held me still, looking into my eyes. "It''s simple, just don''t aggravate Adam anymore." Thalia said to me and left me where I stood. "We are now arriving at Santo Paulo Space Academy and Training Center, We hope you enjoy your stay here for the next few years" the Female A.I. announced and I turned to look out the window to see a giant space station. "This will be my home for a while" I sighed and made my way to a seat to fasten myself in. [Explanation for "You must be one of them" the kid was spouting about. Beo and Thalia are a race of experimented humans with better mental and physical capabilities. This race was called Experi-Men/ Experi-Women. Despite their small numbers, they were far superior than the regular humans, and in a coup d''etat Experi-mankind took over, after a period of time known as the Ruling. a Resistance came and overthrew them. Now both humans and Experimankind live together, though Experimankind are discriminated and looked down upon (Like after Post-Civil War in America) ] G Company Squad 4 "Welcome to G Company, I am your Commanding Officer Boris Nemeides" a burly man with an outstanding moustache spoke. (He sorta looks like Braum from League of legends, but no shield, and wears red. He has a red commander''s jacket with two medals planted on the shoulder and wore blood red combat boots. A scar ran down his left side of his face, crossing over his nearly closed eyes and reached from his forehead to his mid-cheek region. "Call me Commander, Captain, Officer, or Teacher, you choose, but I will report the people going into each squad, first up for Squad 1. U.L.I.O.M.A. , T.E.N.V.E.N.M.E.N: , ......." Officer Boris called and the list went on till he finally got to the last squad, which was Squad 4. " B.E.O.R.G.E.L." I heard my named called and I step up. "Alright BEORGEL, go meet the rest of your squad in the locker room labeled G4, I will meet with you guys shortly" Officer Boris explained and called the next person up. I followed his advice and looked at my wristwatch which had a map. I set the destination and it gave me arrows showing me the way. I walked along a corridor, down a couple of stairs, and through some passages and I found the locker room that Officer Boris mentioned. Knocking first, I entered and sat down on one of two benches present. After me, came in five other people, two boys and three girls. One stood standing by a locker, another sat down with one of the girls on the bench I was sitting on, and the final two girls sat down on the opposite bench and started chatting, or one of them tried to talk to the other but the other wouldn''t respond. After a while Officer Boris came in and I immediately stood at attention. The boy and girl next to me also got up immediately while the two girls slowly got up and stood with us. The last guy just looked disinterested. "As I have introduced myself, each of you introduce yourselves, Ladies first." Officer Boris said and the girl who was sitting next to the guy introduced herself first. "I am C.R.A.H.D.I.L.A.E, but I prefer to be called Ciara, I am hardcore athlete, I am very adamant and persistent with my choices." the girl said. Ciara had auburn blond hair in a side braid. She had a slender yet muscular body and her eyes had the color of roasted nuts. her skin was mostly tanned which indicated her many hours outdoors. The next one to speak was the girl who sat silently. Announcing her name " N.I.M.A, just call me Nima, I don''t want to associate myself with any of you, so just leave me alone" and she stood silent and still once more. Nima had burgandy hair with purple highlights in a pixie hairstyle. She seemed lanky and quite mischevious. Her skin color was a walnut color. The last girl pipped up, her voice cracking, " My name is U.N.I.V.E.R.S.E., but I can be called that or Uni. I am a scientist and researcher. I pursuit knowledge, If you call to me, yet I do not respond, then I am critically thinking about something and will probably have not heard you." Uni explained to us. Uni had short side-swept curls with hair the color of ash. She held a bored expression most of the time and spoke in a monotone. I guessed that since she didn''t speak much, that was the reason on why her voice cracked. Her skin was very pale and since she was small for her size she seemed quite fragile. "Also to let you know, I am an Expiri-woman, I will take each and every hate you may have for me" Uni added. Like the girls the boy who was sitting next to me spoke up first " Name: Its K.A.N.T.D.R.O.M.E.Y. but Ciara and others like to call me Antony, because it sounds similar and more of a common name, I am tech-savey, love to but not good at multi-tasking, and here is a hint, don''t make me do stuff, If I choose to do it, then It will come out top grade, if I am forced, well.... it might be barely pass." Antony scoffed at us and then gave us a huge smile. Antony had midnight black hair in a close-cropped hair style. He had a natural tan though it seemed to have paled by a huge margin. He wore square glasses over his almost pitch-black eyes, which seemed unfocused. "My turn" the guy in the corner spoke up suddenly. "I am P.O.L.O.G.A.D.R.I., but you can call me Gadri, I don''t understand why but people seem to avoid me, I guess I am misunderstood." Gadri laughed. Gadri had long wavy hair as dark as a raven. His eyes were hardened, combined with his large size he gave off a domineering and uncaring appearance. Now it was my turn, "I am B.E.O.R.G.E.L. aka Beo. I just want everyone to work together and not fight, If you need my help I will assist you in any way, shape or form in all possibilities. " I said and we all stood still. "Good good, Now that you know each other time to tell you about this place and training. "Each company has a dorm, mess hall, locker room, armory, and labs. Each of these are separated into four, one for each Squad. Each company takes up 10 areas or sectors, we refer to these sectors with the Company letter + a number from 1-10. Right now we are in G4 Locker room, which is located in Sector G4. practically G4 is your sector, it has your dorms, locker room, armory, and baths/toilets. To integrate you with your squad, both baths, locker rooms, armory, dorms, and other usually separated facilities are integrated together, a little skinship between each of you is nothing, break down embarassment as well" Boris explains to us. Continuing with his explanation Boris then said "That is your Personal Sector, the Public Sectors include Training/School Facility, Request/Exchange Office, Entertainment Hive, Mess Hall, Storage. Laboratories, and Upgrade Center. All this will be explained later, now for your training. This will consist of Weapon Handeling, Tactics, Formations, Vehicle Controls, Protocols, and more, you are expected to know and remember all this. Aside from learning all the core subjects, you will take one or two classes for side subjects like Languages, Medical Knowledge, Drug and Alchemical solutions, Upgrade and/or Repairing Tech, and other side subjects. After a few years of training you will be sent along with your squad to an outpost to learn under protection then to the front lines, No questions for now, save them for tomorrow when your training starts at 0500 hours" Officer Boris said and he salutes us. Saluting him back we all yell the motto " Vivunt, Evolve protege patria nostra" Survive, Grow, Evolve. Protect Our Homelands. "Alright everyone off to bed, your sleeping in boy/girl pairs, pairs are order of introduction, so if you introduced yourself first, then that is who you pair with" Officer Boris tells us this last tidbit of information before walking out on us. Taking a moment to process what he said I looked at my pair Universe. She stared back at me with calculating eyes Training Mission 1: Defend the Station (Part 1) Beo was currently sitting in his room. Tied to a chair, gagged and handcuffed, as well as blindfolded. "What happened to me?" Beo pondered. All he could remember was going to his room after dinner and fell asleep in his bed. A sudden pain in his navel region causes him to yell out in a muffled voice. "Do not worry, This is for experiment purposes, it will not cause you any harm afterwards." a monotone voice reassured me. Huh?, a monotone voice?, Could it possibly be Universe? "I suggest that you don''t move, or else your stomach could be punctured and the acid could burn your body system as I temporarily disabled your bicarbonate production, which means your stomach right now is highly acidic" Universe said to me I tried to ask her the reason why she was doing this type of thing but my voice was muffled "Alright, your free to go" Universe said and she started to untie me. When she removed my gag, I lashed out at her "Why, just why, did you have to tie me up, you could have just asked" "When a subject is being inflicted by pain they have involuntary twitches, and/or movements, such movements might have ruptured parts of your body, Better to be safe than sorry" Universe explained before walking out on me. "That girl" I muttered before I went to the locker room to get dressed. I entered the locker room that was assigned to Universe and I and I walked in on her naked. Her slender body with her semi-developed chest, the legs not to plump yet not to thin either. her skin practically glowed and then she locked over at me. "I''m sorry" I exclaimed and quickly shut the door behind me. "If me being naked bothers you, then I can put a towel on" Universe called indifferently. "Your fine being seen naked?" I asked nervously. " I see no reason why it is such a big deal, it is merely skin. The largest organ on your body, and it is used to protect from harmful particles like sunlight, diseases, dust, the sorts" "If you insist, then I am coming in" and I began to slowly open the door. Walking in once more, Universe already had on her uniform and was gathering her things to put in her locker. She noticed me for the second time around and stared at me. "You can come in and change any time, don''t mind me" She said and then once more, walked out on me. "I don''t know, I might not handle it well" I said gloomily before I started to get changed into my uniform. Each Company had different color uniforms, for A it was Red, B was Blue, C was Purple. For Company G our color was a Teal color. This was distinguished by the company tag and squad and the shoulders and cuffs. The uniforms were one piece suits with zippered backs, Mainly black from pants to collar, The shoulders, cuffs, collar, and Company sign was teal. It also came with black combat boots, , black/teal gloves, and an earpiece. I quickly got dressed and headed to the mess hall where the rest of my squad was seated minus Ciara and Antony. "Are you guys ready for your first mission?" I asked, looking at my watch the time read 04:45 hours, and then proceeded to devour my cereal. "I have devised that the mission will be one of the core subjects, which will be Combat, Weapon handling, Vehicles, the sorts." Universe said bluntly. "The mission debriefing is soon, we should hurry up and finish" Gadri smiles and starts to wolf down his remaining food. "Come on slow down, we got another 5 minutes before we have to go" Nima says, to which Gadri ignores her. "Hey Gadri is right, we better hightail it out of here" I told them and chose a few things to eat, leaving the rest. "This meal is very balanced based on what you need, if you skip out on some of those things then your losing important nutrients" Universe informed me of my error, pushing her finished tray toward the bin. "I will wait for you guys, I studied the map of this station and know where most things are, so follow me when your finished" Everyone gave their okay to Universe and after finishing the last of our meal, we followed her through many hallways, staircases, rooms, and more to find ourselves in a simulation room. Miraculously Ciara and Antony were already there. "Where have you guys been" I asked curiously "I didn''t see you at breakfast" "Ciara dragged me me along...... one of her exercise runs, we had....... breakfast very early since......... her schedule consists of four......... hours of various drills." Antony gasped for breath as he explained this We grew silent as the other squads started to appear, and eventually Officer Boris Officer Boris looked at each of the squads in turn. "We all are here today to witness and experience your first training simulation. most of you have probably experienced full-dive technology before through games, School lessons and more. Here, we use them as training simulations to test your skills, drill you to know each and every protocol, know how to handle your vehicle or gun. To you this might be a game, to us it is more like a movie since we have no influence of what the simulation does besides setting the initial goals, spawn points, and behaviors for the A.I. and terrain. This first simulation will be a station-wide simulation, meaning Companies from A-Z will be participating. This will prepare you for the known, and unknown situations. Gear up cadets, your going into the simulation" "Vivunt, Evolve protege patria nostra" we all shouted at the top of our lungs. Officer Boris''s POV: Sitting back I watched as each of the pods go online, I monitored the console, making sure everything was running smoothly before transferring the controls to my command watch. I got up to stretch and made my way to the Officer''s Lounge, where everyone who was in charge of the Companies gathered. "Well well, if it isn''t Mr. Nemeides, come come, let us make bets for old time sake" a man spoke out. He was Ren Destriago, commanding officer of L company. He was short and round like a ball, and he practically bounced every time he walked. Multiple scars were strewn across his face yet he was lively. "Mr. Destriago, I wouldn''t put my money so early, we barely even know the cadets yet" Boris replied and Mr. Destriago waved it off. "That is what makes it more fun, come on, I already got bets for a promising boy in A Company named Adam, you know, the minister''s son" (Destriago) "And what of him?" (Boris) "He is a promising lad, I wish he was in my company then I wouldn''t have to worry, but he has great commandeering skills, and a quick mind at that, I believe he will be our top cadet in no time flat." (Destriago) "Any other promising cadets you would like to inform me? Or is he the only one." (Boris) "No, no, how can he be the only one. To name a few I got a girl named Thalia in V company, Ilv in J company, and Universe from your very G Company, all of them show great promise you better believe it." (Destriago) "I''ve looked at her files, I know she has potential, but for people like her, there is to much on their plates." (Boris) "Well, let make a bet to see, will these interesting people make it far?" Destriago smiled, holding out a betting plate. "I''d rather not, but then again, let us see" Boris spoke, accepting the plate and writing something on it. Beo''s POV: I woke up in my bed due to a strange noise, Universe was in the bed besides me and we both awake and already in our uniforms. An alarm was blaring, while red lights flashed. "Code Red, We are under attack by Balvian Forces. I repeat, Code Red, We are under attack by Balvian Forces." a person was announcing in the intercom. To explain, Balvians are the sentient species of the world Balvia. They were towering monstrosities that went from 7-10 feet tall, and had a gaping mouth for a face, they have no visible eyes, nose, or ears. Having long stick-like arms and nimble and thing fingers. their body was unnaturally slimy and their feet were clawed. They traveled in elite warships since they loved to raid others. Their famous for mounting ships, stations, platforms, you name it, to gather materials for themselves. I motioned for Universe to follow me and we headed toward the armory. En route we met up with Nima and Gadri. "So that is what he meant, of course we can''t always be prepared for an attack on the outpost" Gadri thought outloud. and he laughed with a goofy grin on his face. Nima just rolled her eyes at him. Ciara and Antony were already at the armory, fully geared, Ciara had on light armor and held an assault rifle while Antony was sporting the same gear except for his choice of dual pistols and was twiddling with a drone. "Alright guys, get geared up, who knows what might happen" Ciara said and just as she said that, an explosion rocked the corridor. "Hey don''t jinx us now" Nima growled and ran inside. I swiftly followed her and found myself with multiple choices of gear to equip. I looked around at the possible choice and a brief description of what they did. A belt of syringes that inflicted status, Particle cannons, various grades of armor, multitudes of weapons ranging from simple pistols to void snipers. I finally settled on light armor with an assault rifle like Ciara. Universe had a medic kit, and the syringes, as well as a simple pistol. Nima settled with light armor and a sniper. and Gadri became a hulking giant, with heavy armor, and a rail gun. We all marched down the hall, when an Balvan invasion pod poked a hole into the wall, a tube was inserted into the hole and Balvans troopers started to slither out. Gadri charged forward before he stopped to fire his rail gun. His plan was good and bad because of two instances. One: He eliminated the Balvans and cleared the wave, and two: he hit the engines and fuel tank of the invasion pod, making it explode , creating a hole in the wall and a one-way ticket to deep space. "Masks up" Universe ordered but the order was to late. Ciara, Antony, and Gadri lost their footing and floated toward the hole. Gadri used his railgun as an anchor, whilst Antony caught the edge of the wall. Ciara was unlucky enough to be blown into space. The emergency doors started to close in the hall way making us take a split-second decision and that was when Antony spoke up. "Guys I can go get Ciara just go and get rid of the Balvans, we will find our way back to base" He smiled and with a thumbs up and mask on, he let go and drifted into space after Ciara Training Mission 1: Defend the Station (Part 2) After seeing Antony drifting off into space everyone scrambled to get to the end of the hallway before it closed. Gadri slide underneath the door and held it up as it slowly pressed him into the ground. "Hurry guys, I don''t think I can hold this for long" He exclaimed and we hightailed it toward the exit. Nima and I slide toward the door. Universe barely made it before Gadri closed the door. "Fuckin Damn, one pair down and not even 10 minutes into the mission" Nima cursed, gasping for breath. "Only shows that they are serious about this" Universe said simply "So Fucking Calm over there are you now, ARE YOU" Nima growled and lunged at Universe but Gadri bashed her with his weapon. "Calm down guys, stop fighting" Gadri whined. "If everyone has calmed down, the mission is still on-going" I said and Nima decided to compose herself after giving Universe a glare. "It just says defend the station, so that means find enemies and blow them up, simple right" "I believe so, let us just get to a defense turret and blast the Balvians out of the sky" Gadri smiled. "Technically we are in space, there is no sky around here" Universe retorted. We advanced forward in a square formation, Gadri and Nima in front and Universe and I in the back. The sound of combat was growing nearer and nearer with each step we took and the more hostiles that we fought as we made our way through the station. "Squad V-3 reporting from defense deck, multiple turrets have been blasted apart and hostiles are infiltrating." a report came from our intercoms. "Squad E-1 is currently hunkered down at the defense deck behind the remains of turret E103 we got some casualties, requesting assistance" another voice spoke, and more and more requests were being made. "To the reactor core of the station" Universe exclaimed and everyone looked at her. "Why, the rest of the squads and enemies are at the defense layer, why would we need to go to the reactor core" Nima growled "Balvian forces are masters of deception, they mainly use the stratedgy of focusing the enemy toward them, then send a few to wreck havoc from the back" Universe explained. "Brilliant idea Uni, lets go, Nima you okay with this?" I said. "Fine do what you want, I don''t want to wait around for people who are never going to come. " Nima scoffed at us and ran toward the defense layer. "IF it makes you feel better, i will come with you guys" Gadri pipped up. "Let us go then, the more the better" Universe said and we dashed toward the reactor core. As we got there we saw a Balvian pod insert itself and troops started to jump out. "Turns out your knowledge is spot on" I complimented Universe. "Guys I got Ciara she is out cold, some Balvians are attacking the core, where are you now" Antony spoke through the com link. "We are at the core right now, where are you" I asked quietly. "I had my drone hijack the ship and let us on, they didn''t even see us" Antony laughed, and that was when a blaster was heard and his com-link went silent. "Antony you there?, come in Antony" I whispered... Silence.... "Kantdomey you there, please respond if you can hear me" I asked again this time there was noise, Balvian voices and then a blaster fire. The Balvian at the core stood at high alert, it was because the Balvians had dragged two bodies outside the ship. "Damn they got them, Universe, send out a call for help. Gadri can I count on you to make some noise?" I asked. "IF you want noise, then does this work?" He fired his railgun aimlessly, piercing quite a few of the Balvians. I signed as I looked over my record. I exited the pod at the same time as Gadri and met with Antony and Ciara. "Ah you guys too?" Anthony laughed and then put is arms around both of us. "Let us go to the lounge and watch Nima and Universe" Anthony suggested and he practically dragged us there, Ciara slightly helping as she giggled. Upon arriving, we sat at two terminals and proceeded to select the participant we wanted to spectate. Nima was currently hunkered down with several squads at the defense deck, but they were fighting a losing battle. I even see a few unlucky soldiers blasted out into space as they took a wrong step. Universe on the other hand, was carefully examining a syringe, and the sound of boots coming closer as a squad or two came running. "My squad got wiped, Becareful about 14 Balvians are around the corner, planting explosives, one misfire and this entire place goes Boom" Universe explained. Get going cadets" Officer Boris gave his speech and we screamed out the motto. Rushing to my pod to waste no time for an easy 100 points I woke up to find myself in the common area of G company. I looked over to find my squad and we started to rush over to the hanger. After a bit of running Gadri piped up "Um guys, where is the hanger?" This effectively stopped most of us in our tracks. I smiled at some of her notable mentions and turn my focus back onto the screen, which showed Ciara floating into an asteroid field, some of the enemy forces chasing her got destroyed as they chased her. Unfortunately for her rocks started to pelt her fighter and smoke began to expand from parts of her fighter. Fire was starting to break out and when she was about to explode the mission came to an end. We all cheered for Ciara as she slowly walked out somewhat dazed from what just happened. We all rush to congratulate her and Antony gave her a hug, while she murmured "I can''t believe that happened" over and over again in a low whisper. Antony took one look at her after his hug and told us "She might have gone into mental shock over her achievement, I will take her to rest, you guys can go distribute your points we will meet up with you later." and with that Antony started to lead Ciara back to the dorms. The rest of us on the other hand headed toward the upgrade/research center. Since I had increased my accuracy last time, I wanted to increase mental capability to help me focus, 50 points to Mental Capacity which left me with 200, My goal was to be a sniper, take me as far away from combat as possible yet still take a part in it. I guess it would also allow me to partner with my partner Universe. Her scan skill will allow me to aim at approaching hostiles. Information windows can also assist in targeting weak points. I put 50 into Reaction, 50 more points into movement speed and the remaining point into a gene mod. [windows] Hawk Eyes: (Level 1) You gain the basic sight of a hawk, it greatly enhances your vision to see about 200 meters away, it is also protected by a thin film to prevent dirt and other small particles from going in. I met up with the rest of the squad and they all announced what they had gotten as well. Universe: with 510 point she exchanged for Mind Radar Level 5 (100 points since she got a previous level) and Psy-Shield which conjures a shield to protect an ally based on mind power it nicreases durability and length of time it can be out. (400 points) the remaining 10 points she decided to increase her mind power. Gadri: He got a level 1 Body Regeneration, and 70 points into endurance. Nima: Her 300 points were put into a Level 3 Void Blink (Teleport) and the remaining 40 was split into 20 flexibility, 10 speed and 10 perception. Antony and Ciara were busy resting (or were they ;)) and we all settled down. Suddenly an announcements was heard over the intercom

"We better stop and let them upgrade their stuff or else we will fall behind the others" Universe calmly said and I backed off. "I would have recommended something to Ciara but you guys held me up by tying me up" Antony said "Does she have a plan for upgrading herself?" I asked curiously "Oh she does, listen to this, with her knowledge of the human body and her toned body from her exercises, She is great to be a combat medic. Though she lacks in technical knowledge, she can work with the medicine of old times, pressure points, and natural herbs. Since she will know the pressure points of the human body, and with further study other creatures, she can be a close-combat disabler as well as combat medic." Antony grinned, announcing their grand plan of the future. "Logically it seems right, though in this day and age of technology, it is a wonder how she is still technologically insufficient." Sorry for the month-long hiatus, about a month ago school started for me and this month has been a hectic month of registration, club registration, paperwork, textbooks, class and homework, (AP Biology isn''t fun nor is it easy) as well as double shifts at work because of a MIA co-worker. Nonetheless I was working on this chapter bit by bit, and with the free time I have now, I was finally able to finish it. Ranking Tournament Round 1: Antony and Nima. The next few days were hectic to say the least, I was training with Universe, helping her out in hand to hand combat in the event that the opponents she might have to face end up as close combat specialists like Ciara. As for weaponry, she has good sense of aim with a gun, the most optimal subject for her was analysis and planning, she could analyze you and formulate a plan to counter the abilities that you had. I can''t say that I haven''t benefited from this series of events, I learned some close combat maneuvers as well having to make counter plans on facing foes. I can say that I grew more intelligent on combat, There was a timing for everything and randomly spraying will not win me the battle. After the 49th sparring session with Universe an announcement was heard over the intercom.
Calling all Year 1 squads and trainees to Simulation Arena 003 for the First Ranking Tournament, There will be a random tournament bracket for the matches set. The arena is set up into slots of four, in each slot there will be one battle between two combatants. Spectators can watch all of the battles or any of the battles through the Lounge. I looked toward Antony and Nima who were tasked with the first battles but they don''t seem nervous. "Good luck" Ciara said, taking Antony''s hands in her own and stared him in the eyes. "You got this guys, beat them up and advance for us" Gadri smirked "Cheers" I said pumping my fist into the air and Universe comes and says " Your opponents have unknown upgrades, you have a good chance of losing unless further analyzed, do not get eliminated". Antony seemed chill about going into combat first , a faint blush was appearing on his cheeks from when Ciara took his hands and Nima just crossed her arms and looked away, "Well, If I win then treat me to something later on okay" Nima murmured and she bolted away. "Hey Nima wait for me" Antony said and he chased after her. Ciara pouted at their retreating backs. "What''s wrong Ciara?" Gadri asked and she said in an almost inaudible voice "He never chased after me like that when we run" At this remark I start to laugh. Ciara sulked at my sudden outburst and moves toward me her fists raised. "Alright, alright, I''ll stop laughing, don''t hurt me" I giggled and then the iron fist of justice hits me on the head and i''m left on the ground with a huge bump on my head. "If we are done playing around I suggest we go watch the matches, we wouldn''t want to miss the battles of the others." Universe suggested and we all headed toward the arena. Upon entering Gadri whistled. "A crowd so big, I''ve never seen one this big before" I heard Gadri''s words and looked around to see a huge crowd milling around. Screens were everywhere and the first 8 combatants were getting their gear ready. We quickly took a booth in the lounge and I pulled up a screen with all four battles on it. I minimized the battle between Ared and Ingreed as well as Ilv and Logs, leaving the battles with Nima and Antony. Antony was in the process of setting up some drones, Nima on the other hand was stretching and checking her inventory. I observed the opponents they were about to face. Elli seemed like an average soldier, she didn''t seemed to have any excess gear other than the gun issued to her, Jugganautilus on the other hand seemed like a tank, his body was covered in plated armor, his muscles bulged so much that you could see the veins. Nima''s field was an open grassland a disadvantage to Nima as she didn''t have the terrain to hide herself, and in Jugga''s case he could easily follow her if he could turn fast enough. Antony had the advantage in his field though, the place his battle will take place was an abandon workshop. He could use the parts the upgrade or build new drones based on his knowledge. The battle began and Nima took the initiative to engage her opponent. As she drew near she suddenly disappeared from view, this threw off the juggernaut who was busy spraying his weapon a machine gun. He blinked a few times and Nima appeared behind him, her Diamond Edge Knife cutting one of his arms, and blood spurted out. The juggernaut gave a roar in pain and he swung his weapon around, Nima easily dodged it by disappearing again but when she came out of the shadows, the gun smacked her and she was sent flying. To explain, the juggernaut had swung his gun, and he used the momentum to turn his body, Nima had moved behind the guy to cut his back again, and the momentum from the gun collided with her. I winced at the sight of Nima taking the hit and then a spray of machine gun fire was sprayed in her general direction. The juggernaut groaned again as Nima finished him off, she had apparently teleported behind him again and wasting no time from her previous mistake and slit the throat in one go. We cheered for Nima and with the match over she advanced into the second round. Antony on the other hand wasn''t so lucky. Despite his advantage in the workshop, the opponent had an even greater advantage. Antony''s drones swarmed forward, attempting to suppress the opponent but Elli took measures against robots, by getting a gene mod. What gene mod could go against robots so effectively?, One that can short circuit their batteries and CPU. Elli took an eel gene mod. at the cost of getting rid of Antony''s drones she shocked herself and seemed drained. Antony glimpsed at the weakened Elli and he sat there thinking about his next course of actions. after some thought, he took a chance to take her down but he his plan was flawed, When he stepped into a close enough range, Elli threw a couple of needles, ones similar to Ciara''s and she let out an electrical outburst. Effectively frying Antony and his heart stopped from shock. Having experienced a second outburst of electricity, Elli''s body began convulsing and it was a battle of attration between whose body will recover or give in first. After a few minutes where the bodies were fighting to get back online, Antony''s body finally gave up and it was his defeat. Both battles took no more than a few minutes, I was shocked, I would have expected it to last several. Antony and Nima came out of the simulation arena, Antony seemed downtrodden while Nima was elated. "You did good guys, and Don''t worry Antony you can do better next time, you were just unlucky to get an electric-based opponent." I comforted Antony and Universe took notes down on each of the people who advanced. "Next opponents...." And the list went on for several matches, til about the 49th rotation the next pairing were up A Company Squad 1 R.U.E.G.E.N. Ru vs G Company Squad 4: U.N.I.V.E.R.S.E. Universe V Company Squad 3 T.H.A.L.E.E.N.A. Thalia vs G Company Squad 4: P.O.L.O.G.A.D.R.I. Gadri "Good luck" I said and Universe nods her head, Gadri smiles "Let us do our best" Gadri bellowed and he charged into the Arena. Universe just nods to me again and she says "I won''t let this training go to waste" And she moved toward the arena. Ranking Tournament Round 1: Universe and Gadri Both Universe and Gadri entered the Arena, I watched my sister as she prepared to go against Gadri, I wanted Gadri to win but I didn''t want my sister to lose either. I watched in anticipation as their match started. Gadri waited for Thalia to move first, judging from her shining armor and spear, she was a melee body enhancement person. Thalia smiled and charged forward, Gadri took his equipment and bull rushed forward. Thalia said something and slid underneath Gadri, attempting impaling one of Gadri''s legs to make him topple over. Much to her surprise he still stood firm and the spear only made a flesh wound which was quickly healing itself. Gadri jumped up to body slam Thalia but she grew wings and flew back quickly. Thalia took to the skies and her spear top split to make a crossbow. she quickly loaded a crystal and fired it. Gadri took the brunt of the damage and he grab part of the arena and threw it. It was a barrage of projectiles back and forth, crystals and stone, finally Gadri succumbed to the damage as he didn''t bother dodging. Thalia did a loop in the air and dived down, her spear impaling the body of Gadri before she landed and walked away. Universe wasn''t faring any better, her opponent Ru was a speedy assassin build like Nima, but instead of speed she used Jumping and smokescreens. When the match started, the smokescreens came up and Universe barely caught her information window, when she landed on Universe, smashing her into the ground. Wielding a katana, Ru made quick work of Universe. Both of their matches flickered out and both Universe and Gadri slumped out in defeat. I moved up to embrace Universe but she held up her hand to stop. I could see her mind working to find out what was wrong with her performance So I left her alone, Gadri looked no better, he had his eyes closed his body was slumped on the ground doing the (orz) position. Rasphee vs G Company Squad 4 C.R.A.H.D.I.L.E Ciara I turned to face Ciara and she beamed me a smile, we both waved at our squad and stepped into the arena Ranking Tournament Round 1: Beo and Ciara I was nervous about my match up. I have not heard about Luci but could it be a guy or a girl? Lucian was a guy-ish name while Luci was a girls name. I gave a dreaded sigh and walked into the arena to meet up with a girl in the center. She bowed and I nervously saluted her. The battle bell commended and I flew back, pulling out a sniper rifle. I prepared to fire but she was already in my face. I panicked and hit her with the butt of my rifle but she downed me with a leg sweep. My vision blacked out but I flailed around wildly and I felt my fists connect. When my vision finally cleared I saw Luci stumbling around, dazed by my attack. I grew confident and prepared my sniper to take a shot, Luci took out dual pistols and started to spin. The bullets were fired at random directions, I felt a bullet impact his leg and he stumbled, the shot blowing off one of her arms instead of her torso like he intended to. I decided taking the time to shoot with the sniper took to much time so I abandoned it and charged her with my knife out, first getting a few shots with my pistol to disable her other arm, though i missed sorely. I felt another bullet dig itself deep into my cheeks and the blood starting to pool in my shoes but I ignored it to slash at Luci''s throat. When I arrived at Luci she seemed to come out of her daze and sharply focus her sights on me, I was to close to pull back so I went with another slash and she countered with an elbow to the neck. I got her neck but she destroyed my windpipes. I woke up in the pod and stumbled out and gasped for air, likewise Luci was collapsed on the ground holding her neck and breathing heavily. Match Result: TIE, no one advances forward. Luci cried out in distrest and I just sighed in relief, No more fighting, that was to much already, The fight today was enough, I was glad for a week of intermission between each mission. When I got back, Ciara was already back and she was all giddy and smiling. "I guess you won your match huh?" Ciara nods gleefully and I pulled up a replay of her match, Both her and Rasphee were close range fighters, Ciara used her fists and needles while Rasphee used a close-range whip inlaid with spikes. Ciara was caught a few times, but Rasphee''s big mistake was drawing Ciara in toward herself. Ciara took the momentum to launch herself at Rasphee and disable and stun using impacts from her fists to block her nerve system. Ciara finished her by blunt damage.
