Estral: A skill¡­ yahoo!! A skill!! I learned a skill!!?? Did I just learn a skill? I couldn¡¯t believe it¡­ a skill in this world is extremely rare, no one knows how you get these skills but it depends on one¡¯s talent. My friend, Arcas is a genius, he already learned 3 skills by the time he was born and these are¡­ Holy Light, Dark Slayer, and Healing which are 3 ultra rare skills. But what is this ¡°Soul Power¡±? I never even heard of such skill¡­ hmm¡­ why don¡¯t I try using it¡­ nothing happened¡­ well I guess skill needed a certain ¡°action¡± or ¡°condition¡± to be used after all. I will discover how to use it one day, for now let¡¯s head to the village, I¡¯ll sell some of my vegetables. Upon arriving in the village, I started to panic¡­ corpses everywhere¡­ I wanted to run but¡­ my legs won¡¯t let me¡­suddenly, something flashed in my mind¡­ it was my friend Arcas, I wanted to find him even though I can¡¯t do anything as I am weak why am I trying to find him? It is because he saved me¡­ he is my only friend who treated me nicely, even his childhood friend, Serine treated me coldly. I ran through the village under the red sky with piles and piles of corpses around me. I wanted to vomit but I held on. Then¡­ I found him¡­ he was holding Serine in his arms while glaring at the demons around him with tears flowing from his eyes¡­ I look around and saw his mother¡¯s bloody body lying besides him. I see¡­ so she protected him. Near them was his father who was full of rage as his killing intent can even be felt from here. His father was fighting off the demons around them as well as the large demon wearing armor. He has an insignia which looks like a horn with thorns surrounding it which means he is a demon general¡­ Estral: Arcas!! Arcas: Wha!? Estral get away quickly!! Estral: Is Serine okay? Arcas: She fainted¡­ her parents were killed in front of her¡­ but now is not the time!! Get away from here! At least hide!! Following Arcas I hid immediately behind one of the houses as I peek around the corner to see what was happening¡­ Arceno, his father battled with the demons with his twin edge sword. The demon general orders the demons to surround them, one of the demons tries to attack Arcas as his father stops the demon¡¯s sword before it reaches him and slashes the demon on it¡¯s neck as it separates from its body leaving a peculiar mist as the body and head disappears. Demon General: Fool, leave the child here then I will spare your life. Arceno: No¡­ I won¡¯t let you kill my son. Demon General: Foolish man! I will kill the hero at all cost! Arceno: Then you must kill me first before I let you kill my son! Even if I am dead I will try all I can to stop you!! Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. Suddenly, one demon leaps as it grabs on Arceno¡¯s back as it bites off some of his flesh¡­ it seems he was already too injured to dodge as it seems that the Demons has managed to cut a wound onto his leg before I got here. He then struggles and uses a skill, , he swings his sword in a circular motion creating a whirlwind of slices around him as the demon on his back was sliced to pieces as well as a few other demons. He rushes at the group of demons cuts of one of the demon¡¯s arm as it shouts in pain before slashing at Arceno with its sword. He intercepts the sword as the other demons surrounds him to attack, he then uses another skill, , as another sword appears in his other hand as he uses another Feral Sword except for this time it was stronger. As the whirlwind of slashes kills the demon surrounding him Arcas cast , even if the effect was weak as its level was still too low, his father smiles at him to reassure him before returning to his serious expression as he jumps while doing a stance midair as if he was going to stab under him. As the edges of his sword slams onto the ground, he uses as a large piercing wave cuts through the dozens of demons, but there were still far too many left. He clenches his sword as Arcas grits his teeth because of his powerlessness. As he looks at his father, tears started to flow in which Arceno smiles wryly as he looks at his son. He then heads towards the group of demons and used a high grade skill Oblivion Sword as darkness gathers at the tip of his sword as he points it in front of him while he swings it slowly around him forming a line made of darkness until it forms a circle. As he makes a slashing motion, the circular line of darkness expanded at a terrifying pace as it passes through the demons. The demons laughed as they thought that nothing happened when suddenly¡­ they were cleanly cut into two pieces¡­ Arceno then rushes at them like a madman as he uses all skills in his arsenal killing demon after demon until¡­ the only one left was the demon general and Arcas¡¯ father, Arceno, breathing heavily as he points his sword at the demon general while he looks at him with disdain. Arceno: Now you¡¯re the only one left! Arceno said as Arcas was looking at him with admiration as the Demon General grins. Malga: Oho? Then for your hard work, I¡¯ll let you hear my name¡­ it is Malga of the Dark Bood Demons. Arceno: I don¡¯t care! Arceno then dashes of towards Malga when suddenly¡­ as if time slowed down or at least it was for us¡­ the Demon General disappeared and reappeared behind Arceno and stabs his chest with his sword as Arceno shouts in pain. Arceno: Arrggh!! Arcas: Father!! Estral: Uncle Arceno! Malga: Hahaha!! Such weak humans. Arcas: You!!! I¡¯ll kill you!!! Arcas said while his rage boils at an unprecedented level. His father then looks at him and smiled as his expression loosened as he started trembling while he reaches his hand towards his father. Arcas: Father¡­ Arceno: My son¡­ I¡¯ll join your mother soon¡­ please¡­ be strong¡­ Arcas: No¡­ nooo!!! Arceno fiercely looks at Malga as his body started to glow¡­ Malga twitched, sensing Arceno¡¯s sudden burst of power as he tries to get away. Arceno then grabs him, preventing him to do so as he clenches his fist holding the sword and slashes at Malga while his sword has a shining aura around it. It then successfully cuts open Malga¡¯s chest as Arceno falls down to the ground¡­ what he used was a skill called , it will increase the holder¡¯s power ten fold and can only be used when death approaches. Arcas knew this skill so he realizes¡­ that his father was dead. Malga: That lowly human! How dare he damage me!!?? No matter, I¡¯ll just kill you then my work here is done. Arcas: Guhh¡­ Haaaaa!!! Arcas then started to cry as he grabs his father¡¯s sword and ran towards Malga, his body started to glow as a white aura permeated him, it was the skill Holy Light. As he reach Malga, he slashes at him as his sword was glistening with a star like sparkle, it was the skill Demon Slayer. Malga then blocks it with his hand nonchalantly as he kicks Arcas as Arcas convulses in pain. His consciousness slowly fades as Malga slowly approaches him. Estral: (What do I do, what do I do!?) I started to panic as I became frantic¡­ my only friend¡­ is in danger¡­ someone like me¡­ a cursed child is just useless¡­ as I saw Malga raise his sword near Arcas my mind went blank¡­ thats right, I am just a cursed child so I can at least risk my worthless life so that Arcas could escape. I ran towards Malga as he grins while his sword was above him. I grab uncle Arceno¡¯s sword and headed towards Malga¡­ then I heard a voice. Do you really think you¡¯re worthless? Nobody is worthless. Their worth lies in their beliefs, if so then what do you believe in? Estral: I believe that I am worthless but if I can somehow save Arcas then I am worth millions!! Then show me! The intensity of your belief, the power of your soul! Estral: Raaahhh!!!! As I ran towards Malga, my body became so light as if I was flying. An azure aura burst forth around me as I leapt towards Malga with astonishing speed. Malga, sensing my power tries to slash his sword towards me but it was too late¡­ the sword I was holding penetrated his chest, in the area where uncle Arceno manage to cut open. I used more power as I force it in deeper as Malga screams in pain until Malga disappeared as his body became a black mist¡­ he was killed¡­ I then drop the sword I was holding as my consciousness left me. Eastral: Who¡­? ???: How do you like the skill I have given you? As I heard the deep voice shock was apparent from my face as the voice laugh as if it was amused. ???: While I was visiting you¡¯re world I saw your fate¡­ it was quite too pitiful so I tried to lend a hand. Estral: What use is it to save someone like me¡­ a ¡°cursed child¡±¡­ ???: But isn¡¯t it with my gift that you manage to save your friend? I was speechless¡­ I remembered my latest actions¡­ that power that suddenly surfaced¡­ it allowed me to deal the final strike towards that demon general. Estral: Does that mean there are other worlds? ???: Why yes there other worlds and most of them are far bigger than yours. We call your world a ¡°common world¡± (As Gods didn¡¯t create your world, nature did.). Estral: I see¡­ so there are other worlds¡­ While I wasin deep thought I can hear voices calling towards me as my body started to fade¡­ it seems I am returning. ???: Oh? It seems it is time for you to go. Estral: I feel that we will meet again but when? ???: Once you breathe your last breath you will meet me again and once you do so a larger fate awaits you. Be sure to do great thing with your new found fate in this world before you meet me once again. Estral: I will! Also, I decided to use my fate to lead my friend, the hero, towards his destiny!! The darkness disperses as the boundless light engulf me¡­ I closed my eyes as I felt comfortable warmth wrapping around me¡­ I opened my eyes and I saw a boy crying with his arms pointed towards me¡­ it was Arcas using . Arcas: Estral you¡¯re awake!! Arcas said with a relieved tone but there seems to be a deep sadness within it. I then look around and saw that I was inside Arcas¡¯ house Estral: How is everyone? Arcas then gritted his teeth as the following words seemed to have trouble going out of his throat¡­ Arcas: Everyone is dead¡­ only Serine and us two are the only ones left¡­ after you and Serine heal up we need to get out of the village immediately before monsters or demons will come our way. Estal: I see¡­ (Haahh¡­ we are still so you and yet we have such a burden in our hands¡­ I am only 6 years old and arcas is 9¡­ good thing I had read a lot of books in this village¡¯s small library once in a while by sneaking in.) Arcas: It has been 2 hours and Serine is still asleep, for now I will get some fruits for us to it from our morning harvest. First I need to move away the debris blocking our storage room. Estral: I¡¯ll help. Arcas: No! You¡¯re body is still weak¡­ I can do it myself. Estral: Says the one who kept casting on us. I can see that your face is pale from the mana you depleted. So I¡¯ll help regardless of what you say. Arcas smiled wryly as he then goes out of the room. I then decided to follow him as I get out of the slightly broken bed. As I walk out of the room, I can see the room on the other side of the one I was just in and I saw was Serine sleeping soundly inside the tattered room as the door seems smashes to pieces. I then head towards the direction where I heard footsteps and saw Arcas standing in front of the wooden door leading to a stone room. Arcas: I¡¯ll deal with the larger debris that came from the broken wall, you handle the ones that came from the roof as those are smaller. Estral: Are you belittling my strength!? I have a strength of Lv4! Thanks to all my farming!! Arcas:Pfft! Mine is at Lv7. Estral: U-uhm¡­ okay I¡¯ll handle the smaller ones. As Arcas saw my troubled face he laughed as he continued moving a piece of debris as I smiled bitterly but I am glad to see that Arcas¡¯ mood is a little better. It took us quite a while to move it but we finished it and it seems we got a little bit stronger. We opened the door and a pleasant surprise awaited us¡­ the room seemed stable and the fruits and vegetables within it seems fine. There are only minor cracks in the wall¡­ other than that everything is fine. Arcas then pointed his hand towards the food as it then disappeared. Estral: Wha!? Where did the food go? Arcas: It was all stored inside this ring. Arcas said while pointing towards the ring on his finger. Estral: Amazing! Is that the rare spatial ring that is made by a high spatial attribute Leveled mage? Arcas: Yeah¡­ while I was healing my father¡­ he threw it in front of me¡­ inside it was his supplies while adventuring¡­ it contained a hundred and fifteen gold coins, 33 silvers and 69 copper ones. I looked inside it earlier while replenishing mana. I used some of the mana potions inside it also. Arcas said with a painful expression¡­ I then felt guilty as I kept reminding him of those who perished again and again¡­ Estral: (I¡¯m a worthless friend¡­ aren¡¯t I¡­) Arcas: Anyways¡­ it seems like your body was somehow depleted its mana reserve¡­ I don¡¯t know what you did but I know that you¡¯re the one who killed the demon general. Once I woke up I saw you holding my father¡¯s sword and that we are both alive. Estral: (I see¡­ so that skill he gave me uses up a lot of mana¡­ I wish I can increase my natural mana capacity¡­) Mana, it is also called magical energy which flows around each and every part of this world. It also flows inside living being and used as a source for magic, some are even beings that depend on it to live. It is continuously replenished once used as time goes by. Magic skills are rare but as long as you have the talent for it you can learn it unlike natural skills. The mana capacity of everyone is given at birth and will never increase. As all the skills start with level 1 it is possible to cast at least 1 magic skill at any level at a cost of a large amount of mana (Only if it is unlocked by mastering the lower tier magic skills) As one¡¯s attribute increase the cost of one¡¯s magic skill decreases by an amount. Estral: (What is this!? Such a broken skill!!!?? Also what is up with this achievement? I haven¡¯t heard of something like this¡­ I shouldn¡¯t think too hard on this as my head hurts¡­ my poor brain¡­) ???: Iyyaaaaaaa!!!! As I was holding my head a scream came from one of the rooms as both me and Arcas was startled¡­ we ran towards the source and saw Serine thrashing about with a panic stricken face. As she then saw Arcas she threw herself towards him as tears flowed. I then waited by the corner waiting for her to calm down. As half an hour passed she calmed herself as she look towards Arcas in embarrassement. Serine: Thank you for saving me¡­ my parents¡­ everyone¡­ so they¡¯re all gone¡­ She said in a small voice¡­ Arcas: It wasn¡¯t me who save us it was¡­ Before he finishes his sentence Serine look towards me as she gritted her teeth and pounces towards me¡­ I dodge by reflex as she hits the wall.. She rubs her nose while teary eyed and grabbed my neck. Serine: It is because of you the ¡°Cursed Child¡± that everyone was killed! It was because of you that my parents¡­ Serine said with tears pouringout from her eyes. I remain silent as I was used to all the ridicule and I knew¡­ how painful it was to her to lose those she held close, I mean I almost lost my only friend¡­ Arcas: Serine enough! Serine: Eep! Serine then loosens her grip as a mark appeared on my neck. To my surprise he shouted at Serine for the first time and it was because of her harsh words. Serine: B-but¡­ Arcas: It wasn¡¯t his fault! He was the one who saved us both¡­ if it wasn¡¯t for him going all out us three couldn¡¯t have survived. Do you know how much of a miracle it was for him to kill a demon general? Sure it was because of the wound caused by father but it was a demon general nonetheless! Serine then look towards me with a deeply apologetic expression as her hands were shaking¡­ I then said¡­ Estral: I don¡¯t know how it feels to lose someone important but I felt the deep despair when Arcas was going to be killed. You can point all of your pain towards me¡­ after all I am used to it. I am tougher than I look you know so don¡¯t hold back! Serine then punches me in the stomach with Serine¡¯s strength of Lv2 and my defense of Lv6 I barely felt it so when I saw her close her eyes and used all the strength she mustered in that one punch I held my stomach and kneeled down as I acted like it really hurts and rolled on the ground. After that I look at her and saw her dumbfounded expression as well as Arcas¡¯ then¡­ Serine: Pffft! What are you doing? I know I am not that strong you silly! Arcas: Hahahah!!! I then blushed in embarrassment as I stood up and scratched the back of my head. Serine then chuckled and then bowed. Serine: I am sorry¡­ for blaming you¡­ and also for being cold just because you were called to be cursed¡­ Arcas then smiled and nodded in satisfaction as I hurriedly replied. Estral: No need to apologize. Just saving both of your lives felt as if I am blessed instead. Suddenly, a growl was heard as Serine¡¯s expression became solemn as well as Arcas unsheathing his father¡¯s sword. Arcas: What was that¡­ Serine: Are there still demons around¡­? With their reactions I then felt like shrinking as I said¡­ Estral: It was my stomach¡­ Serine and Arcas then looks at each other and held their laughter with tears on the corner of their eyes as Serine and Arcas said¡­ Serine: It looks like your stomach wants to be blessed too! Arcas: Hahahaha!! Okay I¡¯ll ready the food. I¡¯ll make my famous vegetable soup! Serine: Don¡¯t just throw the vegetables in whole! Arcas: I-I won¡¯t! Serine then smiled at the startled Arcas and said¡­ Serine: I¡¯ll help too. As they were headed towards the kitchen area they both turned towards me. Serine: Want to help too?
