《Demonic Dungeon》 1. Hugging a wall Hi guys! It¡¯s my first fiction, so please give me some ideas about what should I change or keep the same. Every comment will be read, so don¡¯t worry, write your thoughts. :D I had to rewrite 2ND time! I accidentally hit backspace button and all my almost done work had to be done again. My luck is amazing. 1. Huggin a wall Demon dungeon has appeared! We can¡¯t let them plague our lands with this heretic place. Adventurers with B and above rank are needed. Priests will be going on this mission, so healing and holy magic will be given every man in need. For clearing a dungeon reward of 10g and some loot will be given. Let¡¯s kill these vile creatures! 1. Hmm. Interesting offer, 10g will be enough for 3 months of living, maybe even a year but that depends how much I will be spending on ¡®some things¡¯. However this mission won¡¯t be as easy as it may look like. Fact is that they are trying to gather B ranks and above but reward is quite too good. I don¡¯t know! I think I want this money even though they smell fishy. Fortunately I¡¯m A rank adventurer so I may be back in one piece. Having priests around is good too. Ranks are starting with, the lowest, F and ending with, of course the best, which is S. I don¡¯t know how many Faggots there are but I¡¯m sure they are as common as ants. It¡¯s a little different with S rank adventurers. There are probably only 11 of them? Mages, fighters, butler, mentally ill. In conclusion, diverse type of people. Difference between these 2 ranks is not only about mental stability but in strength as well. To be honest, I don¡¯t think I am able to hit any of them. Ok, I admit, I could have the highest rank but I don¡¯t care about it. I don¡¯t need to be an extremely strong person. I have to take possibility that I could go crazy. Instead of a morning training, breakfast, in place of an afternoon training, a nap. It¡¯s very easy, I¡¯m not that hard to understand. I just don¡¯t do unnecessary actions. Actually I like to get sweaty but I have to be a responsible adult and learn some things. Not only bodyshould be trained but mind as well. That¡¯s why books are important. Who cares that it¡¯s not about biology, geography or history. Books about adventures are equally relevant. I live a story which normally I wouldn¡¯t be able to. New world, different body and better imagination. Books are opening are ¡°eyes¡± to the new possibilities. Instead of only raw information about world I want fictions as well. They teach, especially creativity and are making us conscious that everything can happen however we can¡¯t take every fiction as something that can become true. For example, I doubt that 10 women will jump on me with lust in their eyes. In conclusion, both body and mind are equally important. That¡¯s why I eat broccoli and read lectures which adults gave me telling me it¡¯s good for me. Really, you can believe me. Being so talkative I can make you visualize myself. I always have some kind of a ritual before going on a mission which is to bite something and be a little drunk, just a little. I promise. Food is quite good, however alcohol¡­ Liquor of the gods. I don¡¯t know what they pour in there but it tastes better than my bartending tries. They are using some kind of hand techniques which are too hard for me to understand and BOOM! perfect drink. Well, I guess I have no talent with hands. However my fingers, I heard, are amazing. It looks like ¡®school trip¡¯ to a dungeon is going to start their travel in 2 hours. That¡¯s what I heard from few people, to be more accurate, every damn one is talking about it. Church has some fame and amazingly good advertising techniques. I understand that the Church want to exterminate Demons. You know, Demons who can¡¯t go out from under the earth, are very ¡®dangerous¡¯. We have to destroy these evil creatures! Sometimes I seriously can¡¯t understand peoples thought process. However I don¡¯t judge my employers, especially the ones whom I don¡¯t have to listen to. All I have to do is walking straight and not disturbing anyone. After successful ¡®collaboration¡¯ I will take my reward and then it is going to be time for myself! It may not be surprising that ¡®school trip¡¯ started from under the Church and went directly towards dungeon. This hubbub, scuffles, making pairs. I won¡¯t forget this moment. ¡®Ahh¡¯ . I can see that there are around 50 people but I don¡¯t know if it¡¯s going to be enough¡­ I hope so. When ¡®teachers¡¯ got us under dungeons gates I realized why they want to eradicate Demons. They got scared, I understand because who wouldn¡¯t have. Gates are red, oh no! Short history lesson! To be honest, said dungeon is in Sereb, a country controlled by the King who is under rules of the Church. ¡®Holy¡¯ guys have their own weird agenda with Demons. I don¡¯t remember anything about it though. I don¡¯t care enough to follow their actions. End of a lesson! There are two kingdoms on the Ereu continent, both are ruled by Humans. They have peace treaty at this moment. There are Dwarfs as well but they built burrows and are sticking in there, so let them live in artificial light. Dwarfs are not interested in Humans politics. Excluding Ereu, there are two different continents, Abiam with Beastmen and Elves, and Atraf with Demons. All of them can travel around the world except for Demons. The latter even though are strong both physically and magically, are not able to leave their land. They wither further they are from Atraf and then eventually die. No one knows why Demons are like that but Humans don¡¯t care, less to worry about. The exceptions are dungeons who have incomprehensible magic. Going back to the mission it starts easy like every possible one and ends a little bad. First corpses made their home at 5th floor, first 20 corpses. It is unexpected because difficulty sky rocketed in one moment. The main culprit is the one and only dungeons Guardian. The weirdest part of this is that he is in the same room as lesser monsters. That event makes us unable to surround him with ease. Firstly we have to clear out dems (big imps) and succubuses. Damn Guardian has to be a hipster. Why would he, like every fucking one of his kind, be alone in the room. Yeah, he has his own style¡­ Demon, I have to admit is intimidating. He has huge, muscled body, about 4 m tall. His head and legs have goats aspect and the rest of the Humans. Black hide, red eyes, black, curved back horns and in his hands is two-handed axe. There goes an amazing news! Some twat gave to an axe more threatening look. Yeah, paint it with more blood faggot! As time goes by, my dear Meat Shield is looking smaller and smaller. Damn¡­ I have to make a move. I entrust myself to my leather armor, leather trousers and 2 shoes. Being honest, I don¡¯t like my sword anymore, it got defiled by priests and their holy magic. I look like a lamp now! Nevermind, I have to fight, lazy days are not going to earn on themselves. Goat is not only strong, his speed is good too. He may not be extremely fast but it still makes him hard to kill. Dream team of 50 got reduced to only 9 people. Priests helped to make it only a little thinner. It is very strong dungeon. At this moment we have 3 warriors, 2 mages, archer and 3 priests. All of us, excluding healers, showed extraordinary skills (heal is noob skill), however it is still not enough to avoid more deaths. Demon is forcing us to retreat by swiping with his humongous axe every time he can. There is no sense in trying to block that kind of attack. I doubt that anyone would withstand such a brutal force with or without a shield. Every swing of his weapon makes him vulnerable to our attacks and his defense reaches 0 at that moment. Priests are healing every time someone needs a help. They look exhausted right now. I have to admit, they are strong willed, chapeau bas. Fiend is weakening every second, his legs and torso have many wounds from which he is bleeding with black, dense blood. He has impaled in his skin ice shards and arrows. Fire magic is not very effective against him, so mages are using mostly ice magic. Archers used holy augmented arrows, yeah, thanks priests. However Demon still managed to kill another guys, 2 warriors and a mage. His axe is already blunt but with his massive strength it still very dangerous. He can blast us out of our low existences. I have to be more careful now. No more Meat Shield around me. It¡¯s good that I am specializing in augmentation so I can last longer in some situations. I can raise my speed, strength, defense and libido. The latter is irrelevant now though, dammit. However it¡¯s not so amazing right now because my mana is going to hit the bottom in no time. We have to finish this fight as fast as we can. Here we go! Let¡¯s kill him! I would love to do that but life seems to be against me. Being in a fight so long and getting hit at the end. Amazing me. Anyone would be happy being hit with a not anymore sharp weapon, but not me, especially when wielder is a known goat guy. Hit is so strong, that I started flying until I met my new friend, a wall. I was like a lightning, fast as fuck. I guess it¡¯s a record, no one made it faster than me. I heard little boom, some cracks of my bones and walls shattering. Quite a symphony. It¡¯s not comfy there though. I like something more soft and warm. My vision is darkening. I am not sure what is the main reason. I am considering wounds and pain. I¡¯m wearing shirt, some trousers and on top of that very nice coat reaching under knees, with long sleeves and without hood. Let¡¯s make some plan. I don¡¯t know earth magic, so I am stuck here. What else can I do? Touring around 10x10 room has no sense. I can at least check that floating crystal. It¡¯s in a shape of sphere, probably 1 m diameter, black and it¡¯s shining, yeay. Information from Dungeon Core got me a headache. Gaining knowledge in such a fast time is painful. What did I learn? I am dungeons Guardian. This job makes me able to access every room annd I can control monsters on my level. There is one more thing. I know why I am so small. It¡¯s not about me getting younger. I am no more a Human. My appearance is one of a Demon. Small demon¡­ ¡®Why do I have to be brat again?!¡¯ I feel some new limb as well. Taking a look at my back I see a tail. ¡®Oookay¡­¡¯. It grows from my butt. Looks like I have to get accustomed with my new body. I¡¯m approximately 1,5 meter tall and my tail is 1 m long. Using my new limb is not an easy task. I am trying to lift and I can¡¯t do it properly. I may have certain muscles to be able to move it freely but I have no knowledge how it actually works. Looks like I have to learn how it works. So I am Guardian of the Demonic Dungeon. I am looking forward to this duty. There are going to be parties, drinking contests and other games. I hope I can gatter enough people. However I am not that free there, I have some rules to obey : 1. I have to lead monsters in fights. 2. When adventurers are making a stroll on my floor I have to be patient and wait in final chamber. 3. I can¡¯t use weapons which aren¡¯t mine when the fight is still in progress. 4. I have to kill guests as fast as I am able to, no toying and tests. 5. I can¡¯t fight on different floors. 6. Have fun! ¡®You took my freedom! How am I supposed to have fun?!¡¯ Very strict rules but what I can do other than look for loopholes? How am I going to lead Demons and be in my room at the same time? It¡¯s rather easy, I have mental access to my minions. I will just tell them what they have to do while making myself a sandwich. Now that I can move around dungeon I am going to see how it looks. I can sense it but I want to see my lands with my own eyes. ¡®Where should I start?¡¯ I think I will start with my room. I have to know my grounds first. The rest can wait. I just can teleport everywhere and anytime I want. My chamber is very big. It¡¯s in a shape of a circle, approximately 4 m in height and 20 m in diameter. Very nice, I like big spaces. I just have to be able to make a pirouette and I can achieve anything. I¡¯m looking forward to epic battles! Oh, I have a throne as well, +5 to style. Being short is disappointing but this is good enough to make me excited. Adventurers will shit in their pants seeing me sitting there. Every adventurer will walk there without any hesitation. Shallow pitfall is under cover of thin earth which will crack under pressure. So when adventurers are busy fighting they are going to trip while activating a trap. There are also monsters. Being more precise, Imps. They are little Demons, fortunately smaller than me, . Red, 1 meter tall little brats. They have black tiny horns, fangs which are visible even though their mouth is closed, sharp looking claws and tail that looks like it can pierce through skin. Red eyes are making you to be cautious around them. Their eyes are like ¡®I¡¯m going to make you scream tonight babe¡¯ and I don¡¯t think anyone is going to find a pleasure in it. Two fangs are leaving a nasty mouth. Their hands have sharp claws which will make good weapon. Quite long tail is rooted in their ass cheeks. Imps with their good agility will obliterate fallen adventurers in no time. This room is full of these devils. Ok, being an honest person¡­ I mean as honest as I can, there are 12 Imps. I think it is good number of them. Second room with Imps is of the same size, though this time there are some big rocks laying around. I think they can be useful with ambush. I will make 5 Imps hide behind stones while the rest will be ¡®just¡¯ grazing like lost tourists. Who is going to think that 5 easy preys won¡¯t be easily obliterated? ¡®Haha, let¡¯s make visitors regret coming in there.¡¯ Next room is very simple. 5 meter long and 2 meter wide corridor. This place is connected to the outside world with ladder. Having stairs would be like telling anyone they are going to have hard time down there. Something like ¡°You guys are going to fertilize these underground, come.¡±. Looks like the Core has some intelligence. Even though I can do some actions, my tail is pointy at the end so it¡¯s hard for me to have a good grip. *** I think I can start with throwing a stone in the air now. What I want to achieve is making a stone to fly in straight line so I can work on my aim. I am trying to catch pebble with my tail which is making me more precise under pressure of time. Training for 4 hours doesn¡¯t make me exhausted, maybe a little bored. It¡¯s very tedious activity. In meantime I even started to throw a pebble at an angle so I made catching more difficult. At this point I am good enough with throwing and catching. Later on I will tell Imps to aim at me with stones. I have to raise difficulty of my training every time I am getting too skillful. The best method to raise skills is by making tougher exercises. Unluckily I can¡¯t train my swordsmanship. All I have right now is my magic and body. I hope that I will be able to keep some weapons of dead adventurers in the future. Being too bored with a stone I am planning to train my magic. The best way to train mana control is by meditating. I can¡¯t make my capacity bigger just by training. It will increase with Cores strength. That¡¯s why I am going to increase my control in mana which is helping with faster casting. Even though it¡¯s very hard to do I have my memories and experience from my previous life. It¡¯s going to go smooth. Mana is involved with mind so it¡¯s a different story than body training. People are using magic mainly with thoughts. Picture is superior to words. Words are restricting in many aspects while image is only limited to creativity and knowledge. I am the best with body reinforcing. I trained it as a Human because in my opinion it is the strongest type of combat magic. Using elements and rune circles is nice too but I think they are inferior compared to strong body. I have experience with enhancing my speed, strength, regeneration and senses. They are the most basic abilities. Even though they are basic I can do very much the moment I get skillful in using them. I can make myself weigh more as well, which when used in good moment can be very devastating. Unfortunately this type of magic is greatly influenced by body. This aspect and long casting are only flaws of changing weigh. Being small made me very weak. Maybe not very weak but I won¡¯t be able to fight C rank adventurer when he is fully rested. That¡¯s why I have faith in my Imps and pitfalls. I mean they have no other choice than winning. I will lead them to victory! My minions are the strongest possible beings here! A little weaker than dragons offspring. A little. In 5 days I learned how to quite proficiently use my body. I can see my limits with magic reinforcement as well. I can use only 2 kinds of enhancements, strength and speed. I don¡¯t have enough mana for the rest. The moment I am getting fully familiar with myself is going to make me much stronger. I think with dungeons growth I will get stronger as well. I even made little simulations with Imps. I was leading them against imagined enemies. We won of course. No matter what fight enemy got completely destroyed or escaped. Easy wins. By the way, treasure which I am defending currently are gold and silver coins. Nevertheless there were 2 following me. I got hit in the side by their sharp claws. My leather armor reduced only some damage but I still got damaged. Now I am bleeding from the side. One of the Demons got an arrow in the head. ¡®Looks like Gobli killed his 2 followers¡¯. I slayed the last one with clean hit in his neck. It made his head fly away. ¡®Look! It¡¯s definitely record!¡¯ The amazing thing is that demon blood is black and dense. It startled us a little but we don¡¯t care enough to think about it that much. I need to stop my bleeding. Heal potion should be good but they are expensive so I have only one with myself. Drinking it we go into the next room. It looks very similar to the one we were a moment ago. However we are vigilant. The toughest person here is probably archer. His skills are about agility and strength. Imps were flying after getting hit by his arrow. He is probably using strengthening magic on himself. I am not sure though. Strength of a user doesn¡¯t determine bows damage. I can¡¯t see through him, I have to be aware. It¡¯s either enhancing arrows in some way or some strange magic. Their strategy is getting boring at this moment. Third fight and they are not changing anything? Do they even have fun doing that? Swordsman is at the front and behind him are Green Pants and Rieta. It is simpler to get rid of him however there is still an opponent around I have to be wary of. Slashes, I am dodging, are swift and precise. Even though he is mad he is using his skills well. Unfortunately for him I have no problem with offensive type of enemy. I squat and rotate with my straight leg and it makes him fall on the ground.
