That monkey-like thing already on my tail, running in four, moving inch closer every second. And then out of nowhere Bamm!! I''m falling, it looked like that creature try to catch me, but smacked me instead. There is a hesitation in its eye, an option to chase me down or not, and in split second its gone, he jumped too, why i said he, because i got full view of his body, and clearly he has "the thing" down there that confirmed its a he. And Its quite big, hahah. And i suddenly got a revelation from gods know where, its about spider hatchling that will release several silk threads into the air. These will make the hatchling drift with the winds. So i''m trying to spread my threads too, its surprising because i can do it naturaly, well i''m a spider after all. While spreading my threads i tried to shoot my poison to his face, 2 out of 5 shoots is in, one in the left eye and one near his neck. Because when i tried to eat the bone the texture so tender like a first rate steak. I finished my meal catiously in 40 minutes or so, i tried eating important organ first, like brain, heart and lungs, because i thought i could get more important DNA from there. If my theory correct, some animal or creature will attracted to the rat, but will be stuck in the web, well at least a small to medium sized animal. After i finished the preparation i went up to the tree canopy and started to find small fry, cause you know i don''t want to wait like an idiot here. I left my threads all over the place as clue so i won''t get lost. For a few hours i hunt some gecko "again" and a new creature that looks like a tree snake, except its a legless bug that taste pretty awful and don''t give me any usefull DNA. When i search for food in the canopy i found a colony of the squirell that attacked me back then, i consider to attack them, but their numbers make me doubt that i can win, so i backed off stealthtily. Although i marked the place with my thin thread, in case i need to back here again. After that, i started to hunt small animals. What i''m curious now, if i ate some kind of flying creature , can i generate wings and fly? Although i didn''t have such luck finding one. When i was busy hunting small lizard and roddent, i felt something was watching me. Although when i looked around i didn''t find anything. Based on my observation, besides the giant bullfrog, there were somekind of monitor lizard, hermitcrab-like creature, and plenty of fish. What puzzled me is, in such rich ecosystem, i didn''t find single big predator. It made me restless, thinking that something weird happening or the predators were good at hiding. Quickly put the thought at the back of my head, i worked a plan to kill at least the bullfrog. I catched plenty of bugs, killed them and coat it with my venom-slash-saliva. First i made a test with a pair of venom covered bugs that i hanged with my thread at tree branch near the bullfrogs. At first there were no reaction, but after i played the thread to create movement, the bullfrog started to look at my bait. ''Gotcha'' i thought when a bullfrog ate the bait and went limp at instant. But then i felt the same presence that watched me earlier. This time i pretended to ignore it, because even if i try to do something, i''m skeptical that i could find the source. But i heightened my alert to the max, affraid something might happen when i''m careless. I just continued my bullfrog ''fishing''. After a few minutes and a dozen of half dead bullfrogs i went down to the forest floor to pick my meal. But lady luck wasn''t on my side, when i saw several large monitor lizard ate my victim. When i saw one of them went rigid for a while, made me remember that my poison might strong enough to paralyze them. Then i felt an enormous presence near me. When i turned to see the speaker, i was shocked. There on a nearby branch was a creature that looked like me in build. The only thing that weird were, when i was made of flesh and fur, this creature were made of woods and leaves. Ignoring the continuous alert from Aiko, that came pretty late, which made another point clear, that this creature were so strong that made Aiko danger detector active. "Squeak squeak" was the only voices that came from me, then i saw the wooden mouth smirk and i felt a presence on my head. "We could talk here" a rough voice said in my head, while Aiko alarm still ringing, also on my head. "Howdy, was it you that i felt always watching me?" "Why don''t we introduce our self first? I''m Kipsa, a forest Ent, who are you stranger?" I felt a chill running in my spine when this Kipsa asked me, looks like i have offend him somehow. "Sorry, i''m Regis, a spider monkey" i blurted that in my mind "Where do you come from? I never knew a creature like you exist?" "I don''t know, i just woke up a few days ago, and now here i am" i''m telling the truth, well technically i didn''t know where the earth or this place. "Hmm, you seemed to be not lying, here''s a piece of advice, this part of forest is filled with harmless creature. You need to follow that stream to find a delta, there is the real game begin" the wooden me smiled eerily, with that, he or she, vanished without a trace. And Aiko alert also stopped, though the content were telling me that a creature with high concentration of mana were nearby, and i was advised to run. How the hell i supposed to do that, i was dancing at that Kipsa palm all along, nothing can be done. But before going to explore the stream, i decided to catch a few of monitor lizard with poisoned bullfrog as a bait. I gained none from them, although i expect some kind of scale or something. Then i swiftly using the forest canopy to continue the stream-bank exploration Ch. 04 Arrived at the Delta My exploration went until the light was no more. With the thickness of this forest, only really small amount of light were transmited, although i''m perfectly fine with my night vision. But strangely i felt like the forest much more alive at night compared to day time. I could hear rustles here and there, though i kept out of them. I wouldn''t want anything to suddenly came out and put me on its belly. After hopping from tree to tree for awhile, i arrived at something like delta. And to my surprise, many creatures were here. The most noticeably were the slimes. Though i ate slime nucleus back then, i never ate the whole thing. There were somekind of gathering places for slimes, that at least couple of dozens of them there. I didn''t know what were they doing, but eating something is my best guess. Then i noticed some creature lurked nearby, somekind of lemur came to drink from the stream. But when i blinked, a huge snake already put the lemur on its crushing grip. What unsettled me that, how i didn''t notice that snake were there. If that was me, i''m probably done. When i saw the snake slithered away to the dense bush, i break a relieved sigh. I started collecting bugs after that, the safest method of securing food i have now. After few minutes of carefull bugs collecting, i managed to collect twelve bugs, which i coated heavily with my concentrated saliva. A perk of ability to control your body fluid, although it left me thirsty, and that stream looked like heaven right now. ''Wake up, that''s just a false heaven'' i told my self, then started hanging half of the bait on nearby tree, while the other half i threw on the water. A nearby sound put me still immediately. Affraid sudden movement will alert the creature, i activated my force stealth. I felt my heart beat weaken, my breath became longer, i almost perfectly still, except the slight movement of my chest. The sound keep coming closer, preparing for battle, i was ready to fight or flight with my Mana Burst. Then something jumped from the dense canopy, to my surprise it was a same creature with the lemur before. But up close, it was not the same with the creature lemur that i had in my mind. The arms were so thin that it looked like could break from the slightest touch, the ears were not pointed upward, it was dangled to the side, the pointy things were somekind of horn i guess. I was lost in my time-slowed-like observation until i heard the same alarm Aiko gave when i met Kipsa. And yes, behind the horned lemur were something that akin to moth, but this moth were bigger than me, with silvery eyes that gleaming in lightless night. When i was ready to launch my self away with Mana Burst, something grabbed my leg. It was a greenish tentacle/vines that came from the back of the moth. The horned lemur were also caught and struggled while i kept my almost gone calm. With quick thinking i used my tail to shot a glob of thread. To my dismay, another tentacle came to intercept it, but i shot again nonetheless, with quick succession. When the moth were busy, i quickly pulled out my claw and cut the tentacle that hold me. I quickly run with Mana Burst while randomly shot out thread behind me to obstruct whoever going to chase me. When i started to feel tired and run out of breath, out of nowhere a tentacle suddenly grabbed my legs again. It was the same moth, because i could see several white threads covering its body. Before i could do anything, another tentacles grabbed my tail and both of my left arm, pulling me fast toward it. With my right arms i tore apart the tentacle that hold my left. Then quickly tore the one that hold my legs and tail, right before new tentacles came at mw again. This time knowing that i couldn''t run, i put my best speed to dodge the incoming tentacles while sealing them with my thread. I litteraly running around like monkey to avoid being caught again. This time i felt the air stirred around me, then i noticed that the moth wings were glowing. ''Magic'' i thought, like i hadn''t already in crisis with it using magic. The tentacles kept coming, but this time, it came with an upgrade, thorns that covered the whole thing. The wings still glowing, but no fireball or lightning or wind gust that i expected to came, looks like the form of its magic was the thorn. But my plan also already came to the finishing steps. While i was cutting the tentacles, i also unrandomly shot my threads, making the area nearby all covered by almost invisible threads. Then i stared to retreat behind my invisible trap, and yes, the moth was following me. I stopped when i saw the moth stood at the suitable spot. With a pushed bravery, i launched my self overhead with my threads. The tentacles were following me, but true to my calculation, most of them were stuck on my threads. At a high branch, with last push, i launched my self again, this time towards the moth. I tore several tentacles that didn''t get stuck and shot several threads to distract the moth. I got one of its wing. Making it a mess and the wing glow kept getting dimmer and dimmer. I quickly launched another attack, this time the annoying thorn were noticeably reduced. With a battle cry i stabbed the moth head with three of my arms, while the other one tore the other wing. The tentacles kept coming though, feeling the desperate effort of the moth, i twisted my claw and finally kill the creature. We both fell to my woven ''safety'' line. ''Thankfully i made this earlier'' thought My body ache and hurt like crazy now that my adrenalin rush already finished i also mentally exhausted with the usage of Mana Burst. Although i would like to find somewhere secure, but my body just won''t move. With last effort, i shot series of thread to cover the place. ''If i''m gonna die, let the it be a hassle for whoever try to eat me'' i thought before succumbed to the exhaustion. ~~~~ Someone were smirking when that someone saw Regis last effort to cover his place with the threads. And like the wind, that person gone, leaving none to marked any sign of its presence Ch. 05 Gold and Silver I was woken up by Aiko''s alarm, that a dangerous creature were nearby. My alertness were instantly peaked, but when i saw the said creature, it all gone. It was Kipsa, stood on nearby branch, with his unworldly smirk. "Do you have a nice sleep?" He asked "Pretty much" i said while searching for my prize from last battle. The body was still there, with both of the wings stuck at different place. I quickly envelope the body and went to retrieve the wings "You even almost lost your life for fighting this creature? I doubt you can last longer here" Kipsa spoke again, with more depth in his ''voice'' now "Yeah, Sorry for being weak" i said lightly, my focus now is eating the moth, but with Kipsa here, i''m to restless to even have appetite. "Just remember, the you right now, can''t even place your foot at the place across without being dead first" with that Kipsa gone again, and i''m already annoyed with Aiko alarm, is there no snooze or stop button ? My hunger came when Kipsa was gone, in a flash i finished my ''breakfast'' The things i gained was extremely small. I only gained the spiked tentacle, which almost no use for me now, and i need to undergo evolution process to acquire it, totally not worth it. When i got back to near the stream, i noticed the slime were less, only half of dozen. But with the light, i could see their hued color clearly, two of them were reddish in color, one in light green, one in deep green, and two more in blue-purplish color. I guess it was indicator of their element probably. Thinking of what i would gained from eating them, i made a plan to lure them. But this time, with safety placed first. I spread my thread as far as i can, a creature will alert me from their vibration. But before going for the slime i checked my bait that i left last night. All of the bait on the tree were missing, but i couldn''t find any body nearby. I guess another creature got free dinner last night. The same thing happened with the one in the water. Now, I''m going to hunt for the slime. It was easy for most part, i just need to drop concentrated saliva directly from above the tree. The annoying part were, when the slime paralyzed, another slime, with surprising speed, quickly envelope the victim, and there goes my prey. With the remaining five, i changed my approach, instead of directly using my saliva, i put them inside ball of my thread. It was arduos, making a watertight ball using thread, but it was worth it. I simultaneously threw the five poison bomb. The effect were varying though, the red slime reacted the fastest, followed by the blue-purplish one, the light and deep green took the longest. They even had the time to initiate an attack towards the paralyzed slime, but half way, the effects kicked in, and i have five paralyzed-slash-dead slime. Quickly went there, before something take away my food again. I only went for the nucleus, knowing that was the most important part of slime. When i found a good place at the canopy, i began my feast, of five golf ball sized nucleus.

''What, only that? was the number not sufficient?'' Without paying more thought to that, i searched for other creature to be preyed only to find somekind of deer. Which i could say, bigger than normal deer- that i have information of- in my brain. With a huge pair of antlers, that have six branch each. It stood with magnanimity of a king, but i could see the eyes were restless. Its golden fur, shone with depth, not emiting kind, but swallowing light. As presence came as i inched closer "You will die, if you try to make a move with that" Kipsa, as usuall came with the late Aiko''s alarm. "That''s an inner circle creature, not something that anything here could deal with, well except me" he said with a untraceable arrogance. "Huh, inner circle? What do you mean?" He already gone when i turned around ''Che, don''t just pop up whenever you like'' Although Kipsa cleared my suspicion, that the deer was unimaginably powerful. Because with that massive body, i couldn''t even detect its presence, and looks like it can fool Aiko''s alarm too. Still,my curiosity got better of me. I stick around to watch the deer. It just stood there, almost not moving, except a few flick of its pointy finger. Its eyes i noticed, has different color, the left with darkish yellow, while the right has black pupil with a shade of violet. When i blinked, my mind suddenly in daze, because that freaking huge deer, was gone. In a blink of my eyes, without sound, without any broken patch of bush, or broken twigs, just gone like that. When i got to the place it was standing before, i saw a small pool of goldenish liquid, that i presume as blood. So that deer were fleeing, which amazed me more, if the deer were on peak condition, how strong it will be? I didn''t realize that the light has gone as i explore a better part of the forest, but the lack of creature were killing me. Like the night before, i went to near the stream. Hoping to found another creature to prey upon. This time i found a different kind of slime. It has silvery gleam to its color, and it size was twice the size of ordinary slime. ''Looks like its attacking other slime'' I didn''t quickly made balls of poison for them. Looking at their number alone sent chill to my spine. Instead i was watching the silver slime hunting. Although it breaks my heart to not eat every single one of them, it was just not possible for me to barge in there without taking any serious injury. After quite some time, the three dozens slime were only fifteen left. So i started my own hunting, picking a lone red slime, ball thrown, gotcha, with aid from my woven thread, now i could move with almost perfect freedom in the canopy. A notification came, but i ignored it, and came for two other slime, a yellow and blue. Ball thrown, gotcha. No notif this time. The remaining slime were ten, including the silver on. But here''s come the hard part, most of them were crowding in same spot. I''m confidence that i could take them all, but the silver one is a factor that unlikely predictable. Betting on my luck, i quickly threw five balls to the nearest, but i didn''t come to them, instead i threw another four balls towards the remaining ordinary slime. With the silver slime busy eating on of the paralyzed slime, i quickly threw another four balls of poison towards the silver slime, considering it size, four should be sufficient and yes the big slime movement came to stop. I quickly went there, affraid some food thief came to steal it. But to my demise, it wasn''t paralyzed. The slime shot out spikes from its body. Even with my fast reaction, the spikes still injured my left shoulder. ''Battle on'' i thought as adrenaline rushed in my blood. Quickly i threw another balls, but looks like it has no apparent effect except making its movement slow. The disadvantage of being a magical creature without any mean of magical attacks. So i relied on the brawn and brain combination. Knowing that melee is out of the question, i opted for ranged fight. This timw instead of throwing balls quickly, i made a slightly bigger one, with more of my poison in it. The effect was not satisfying, the slime only stopped for a few seconds before charging towards me again. Knowing that, i ran around while picking the earlier slime nucleuses, while shot out threads all over the place. After eating them a few notification came, i ignored it too. This time i sprang up towards the canopy, hoping the slime couldn''t climb or reach here. and yes, it couldn''t reach nor climb here, but the chase was not over, with the spikes, the silver slime attacked the tree where i was. Although i will have some time before the trunk destroyed, it was still made me restless. Instead of wasting more time, i quickly create a bigger ball injected with a volume of poison that left me with tiredness. As the last bit of my poison injected, the tree started to tilt. I jumped to one of my thread after throwing the ball. The silver slime defeat was not directly because of me though. My ball of poison could paralyzed the slime, and because of that, it couldn''t get away from the falling tree, which splattered the hell out of it. Thankfully the nucleus didn''t get crushed under the tree, with leisure i was eating it, until the beloved notification came along with the other that i ignored before. Tring!!
