《The overpowering dragon's tale》 Chapter 01 Desperate times call for desperate actions CHAPTER 01 Desperate times call for desperate actions The life of a dragon started to fade. Under the deep slumber, that begun millennias ago the soul of this wise creature slowly lost its radiance. Before completely fading away from this world he tried to fulfill its only wish; (I see.) (I am disappearing¡) (My wish to entrust these memories might go unfulfilled.) (Even then, I will try.) Even with the possibility that this individual does not exist, the process to search for it begun. Scanning through worlds that no other creature visited before; all the planets and stars that gave off the faint spark of life. (A sea of souls ©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤) (It is possible that no one exist to inherit them¡) [Searching the world for compatibility ? ? ? ? ? ?] Finally after a long time of searching and following a thin line of magic, [Potential soul has been found.] No life signals were detected from the human being. A glittering light left the body and shot toward the sky. [Soul is headed toward reincarnation.] Hearing the announcement, the dragon panicked and cried out from instinct. ¡°Wait¡¡± ¡°DON¡¯T GO!¡± Even though it was only a desperate struggle, to the dragon¡¯s surprise the light ball stopped. The soul that was moving with the sole purpose to reach its new life sensed a slight hope toward a greater possibility in that cry. The dragon gazed into the soul and something deep within the sparks gazed back at him. In the pure darkness that allowed only one path to be chosen the wish the mighty being yearned for created another. Startled, the soul turned back and reached out. Taking the soul into itself the dragon met a young woman. It was the soul taking the shape that was convenient to use. Inside this world there was only the two of them. Within this realm, standing before each other the dragon offered its vassal to this woman. ¡°Even though my body is immortal and made of energy, my soul has a lifespan. I do not want the wisdom I had gathered to disappear into the nothingness. My soul¡ I am near death. ¡± The dragon lowered its head as if kneeling infront of the woman. ¡°OH~ beautiful and pure soul! I am the lord of all dragons and governor of wisdom and spirits. Please listen to the plea of this arrogant existence.¡± The woman¡¯s form that was made from light flickered with the color of rainbow, as if smiling. Seeing this, the old dragon turned into a ball of light and floated toward the woman¡¯s side. She embraced the mighty soul and squatted into an embryo pose. This fake world that was like a dream disappeared, taking with it the ground the woman stood on. She floated in the nothingness, merging with the soul fragment she received. All the wisdom and memories flowed into her like water. She lost her human form and returned to being a ball of light, exploding and filling this realm. The mountain shook as if the nature alarmed the world of the coming of a new life. Even though the body was mature and forever unchanging, the being that occupied it was young and curios toward this new world. ***** Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. Somehow, after processing all that new information, I regain my ¡°self¡±. Considering what happened it was a miracle that my sense of self remained; even the memories from before all this. This new body felt as if being squeezed by some outside source. I opened my eyes and although in darkness I recognized the shape and smell of rock and soil around me. It felt unpleasant. As I wished to exit from this place ¡°I¡± moved. Exerting all the strength I could, I stretch myself out. The loud crackling and rumbling sound of my prison could be heard. It seems the previous owner slept inside a cave that, with a long time passing by, became a mountain. The scenery infront of me was a vast forest and rocky mountains. I got surprised, noticing that my size reached the height of a mountain; thought I don¡¯t know the highest one on this world. The first step into my knew home ©¤©¤ Is what I intended, however¡ My feet were instable and I fell onto the ground, causing it to shake. The trees near me got smashed into the earth like dry leaves. My eyes almost popped out. I started fearing my own body. Still unreliable, but I learned to walk. Praising myself I heard swooshing sounds near the back. Noticing the pair of wings my joy was understandable. I.HAVE.WINGS. Fufu~ With newfound energy for experimenting I spread my wings in a flash. It hurts! The sudden movement of lots of different muscles after this long hurt. It was hard to move them, too. I got tired soon and stopped. Realizing that flying was not an option for now, I continued walking toward a forest, but¡ Inside the forest it came to me; this body is too destructive! (Ah~ I wish I was smaller~) And so; somehow my wish was granted. I begun sparkling and the body started shrinking. Now, I only reached the size of a large pine tree-like tree. Enjoying my new view-point a glanced around and found the first inhabitant of this world: a human. It was a young woman¡ or lady? She held a primitive basket and was gathering herbs and with some luck sometimes found edible vegetables and roots. She cheerfully collected them without a care to her surroundings. I wanted to observe her from closer and moved, but¡ The ground still shook when I walked. Need to somehow become smaller¡ The youngsters feet gave in and she ended up falling onto her butt. While panicking she turned around. The next minute she looked up, she stared into my eyes. Of course I stared back at her. I needed to squint my eyes to observe her, because she was small. Staring at the woman I felt something weird inside my chest. No¡ Body? Suddenly, complete darkness ©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤©¤ Wha-? I blanked out for a moment and lost my sight. My mouth felt sticky and there was a taste of iron. I thought the fangs I¡¯m not used to cut my tongue or something, but¡ I catch myself chewing something and there is no trace of the woman from before¡! After analyzing the situation I quickly spit out the chewy thing in my mouth that ¨C surprisingly ¨C tasted like chicken. To my surprise it was an arm. Seeing that, my body stiffened. Rather¡ To live only an arm in a few seconds¡ The instincts of a dragon are scary! It seems that before I even noticed my hunger the body already took actions. This was scary for a moment, but I shrugged it off as something dragonish, and without batting an eyelid continued my walk. Note to oneself: ¡°Need to learn to control myself¡¡± Chapter 02 Lord of the Forest CHAPTER 02 Lord of the Forest The dragon got used to the body and moved through the forest with ease. After her blunder she wandered the searching for something to eat. The rabbit like creatures were too cute when they looked at her with teary eyes and she released them unknowingly. Sadly predators almost never came near her so the only food source available was fruits and wild vegetables. It filled her with sadness that despite being a dragon she couldn¡¯t eat any living beings willingly. The only time she could eat meat was when her instincts took over to appease her craving for flesh. Even then she strictly avoided places where human scents were strong. She laid down next to a lake to flip over her imagined books looking for maps and encyclopedias from this world. Inside her imagination she shrunk herself to that of a midsized dog. Like this she could read the books with ease. In her large body it was hard to flip the pages without ripping or tearing them out. Luckily they always regenerated or to say returned to their original form. She didn¡¯t understand how the previous dragon organized the information without making them into books. It was easy to find what was needed. There were unnecessary books showing nude women. Out of reflex she burned the book the moment it opened and it was erased from the memories too. Like this wiping out the memories was possible or to rewrite them. Since she didn¡¯t have anything to do she stayed here to read. Thanks to that she almost finished with a quarter. While reading there were theories and facts that overlapped with her previous world knowledge, but contained wrong or false information. These were overwritten and placed back onto the shelves. Satisfied with her work she exited her world and submerged into the lake. The water was refreshingly cold and not freezing. It was clean and deeper than it looked from the surface. She had no trouble swimming with her big body. After emerging from the depth she felt an intimidating presence. Of course it was nothing compared to hers, but the monsters here would run before finding out the owner. The owner of that aura was a bear like golden creature. His body reminded you of a grizzly bear with golden colored fur; however it was clear from its appearance that it was a powerful monster. The dragon didn¡¯t move and observed the beautiful animal. She still couldn¡¯t differentiate the monsters from regular animals, but from her perspective of strength it wasn¡¯t even needed. Everything weaker than her was an animal, including the humans too, for now. The golden beast came closer to the lake, leaned above the water and stretched its neck to drink. The way he drank the water imitated the human¡¯s. It was because of it¡¯s humanly face. At first it disgusted her, but after looking at it properly, the face made the creature into a majestic looking beast. From the chest area through the collar and the spine the fur was silver colored and slightly longer than the golden area. On its head was something similar to a deer¡¯s antler with black color. Its head was covered by a mane, like that of a lion¡¯s, however it only grew backward making it into similar to the human hair. His neck is longer that a bears. If compared than like a wolf¡¯s. The limbs were masculine and ended in a paw with six fingers. At the end of its body was a flock of silver feathers that stretched out like a tail. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. While being mesmerized with the colors, the beast lifted its head and looked at the dragon. She felt uneasy under that gaze. She stared back into its black eyes. The color of the black pupils almost merged with the colors of the eye. Frightening; that was all she could think. It wasn¡¯t strength that made her think that, but the way the beast carried itself and the confident look in its eyes. Racking her mind she opened her mouth. ¡°Hi. Good weather, isn¡¯t it?¡± After ending the sentence she felt embarrassed and wanted to sink onto the depth of the lake. A long silence followed. The dragon was so nervous and flustered that the water begun heating up until it produced bubbles. Out of the nowhere the beast burst out laughing. She was dumbfounded. The dragon thought the monster didn¡¯t have any intelligence and just looked that way. it was a huge mistake. The king like beast heartily laughed to the point that it couldn¡¯t stand and laid down onto the grass. ¡°You¡¯re funny.¡± On a deep voice the beast spoke to her. As expected of a lion-bear mix. The voice was indeed that of a king¡¯s. ¡°If you don¡¯t come out, all the water will evaporate.¡± After the beast pointed it out the water did felt warmer to her scales than before. She quickly exited the lake and sat beside the monster with a dazed mind, like an obedient puppy. The beast giggled. ¡°I am Avamys, the lord of this forest. ¡± ¡°Huh?¡± The dragon stared dumbly at Avamys, trying to process the information. According to the memories, the lord of the forest should be a dumb, gluttonous bird that looks like a chicken. It seems my information is outdated. Need to update it or I might seriously die one day ¨C is what she thought while trembling. Change in viewpoint Ya~ay Change in viewpoint .... I''m tired from writing this in third person. Chapter 03 Preparations for a first meeting I became good friends with the forest lord and almost every day listened to his stories of the world. Well mostly what he heard from the passing by monsters and humans. To my surprise there were many wars in the past that weren¡¯t recorded by the old dragon so I needed to memorize everything. How many centuries he slept, I wonder¡ Learning to control my powers, outside of physical strength was hard, but Avamys taught me the basics of mana manipulation. He became my teacher and without his knowledge my guinea pig. He told me about the main races inhabiting the world and their appearances. The humans were the leading race with their numbers and cities, but rivaled with the beast mans in population. Most of the Beastkin differed in appearance from the others. Some were human like, and others inherited more beast like features. The Elves lived mostly in forest or mountains depending on their kind. They hid behind barriers or traveled into cities. Some even moved into human towns. They were vegetarians and never consumed flesh. There were exceptions who ate meat or only draw in mana. Then there were the Halflings who looked like children. They separated into two kinds, the dwarfs and hobbits. All the halves, with different raced parents were called Magical Beasts. The beasts that could change their appearance into human like form were counted into this. The ones with horns or colored skins were called Demonian. They had a disposition where they didn¡¯t need to consume food, because they ate mana. Depending on their powers they can stay young for a very long time. It can be said that they don¡¯t have a fixed lifespan. From my viewpoint as a dragon, they sound quite tasty. However, if I can¡¯t capture a single animal without my instinct, than eating a human without sympathizing with them isn¡¯t possible. Avamyst told me about a little village at the mountain¡¯s foot. It is inhabited by humans. The girl I ate must have come from that place. I willingly stayed away from the places that smelled of humans, but it is important to secure a safe place I can live. This forest isn¡¯t bad, but it¡¯s boring and my desire for books can¡¯t be satisfied. I want knowledge and something that I can enjoy. With the help of the forest lord I planned my entry into the outside world. The first thing I must remember is the behavior as a human. It¡¯s sad that I forgot my former self this easily. Resolving myself to never again forget the past me I made a thick book from the memories and placed it into the imaginary worlds centre; so that I wouldn¡¯t forget again. The first phrase was the hardest part; acquiring a human body. When I thought that it would be impossible for me alone, I remembered that the current me is the governor of spirits. Wouldn¡¯t that mean that I can ask for their help without holding back? ¡°Hear me now, O spirits who dwell within this forest. Grant me thy assistance. Take this image and grant it a solid form to bestow unto me! ¡± As I formed the words different colored spirits gathered around me. I begun glowing and slowly shrunk into the size of an average human. For an improvised chant it went rather well. I have strong but thin hands and smooth skin with normal colored skin. My arms have muscles; well a dragon has lots of strength so it isn¡¯t that weird. Standing is weird and there is a funny feeling spreading. I feel that the chest area became a lot lighter and¡ masculine?... The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. While thinking no way I run my hands through the new body. It was slim, but well developed and strong with a rather big¡ NO WAY! I run toward the nearest water source and leaned near the surface. I froze from my image. So the body was indeed male¡ Resigning to my fate with a heavy sigh I sit onto the grass. I imagined the body changed to match my soul, but to think I was a male from the get go. Not that I look ugly. The face is unisex and I have beautiful silver eyes, almost white. My hair is long, black colored and feels like silk to the touch. I tried pulling a single thread out just for fun; it¡¯s pretty durable. Nevertheless it¡¯s still a shock. Well¡ the body IS human. Avamys told me that my hair and eye color is unusual for a human. What to do¡ I tried changing them, skipping the red and gold colors. They ended up becoming weirder. The left turned into blue and the right into golden. No matter what I did the gold color remained. It was a challenge to think about my hair. While I wanted white or blond, they were still unusual. Luckily when I made it into chocolate colored nothing strange happened, and it stayed that way. The next phrase was establishing contact with a human. That was the easiest, but there was a problem. I have no clothes¡ I did image training on how to approach them, but in this state none of them were believable. I guess I¡¯ll have to experiment on this mana thing. They do say that magic is almost omnipotent. I¡¯m too lazy to use my own magic, but feel guilty for making the spirits do everything and there is a set I want. I decided to do it myself, not depending on their taste in clothes. I could make it without a chant, but if it¡¯s magic then the chanting is a must. Of course only if there is time for that. Here goes nothing! ¡°Out of pure essence, I demand a light armor of magic. Grant me a shield worthy of thy! ¡± Black fibers were created out of thin air and coiled around me, sticking to my body. For the upper body it became a long sleeved shirt with a long collar part that warmed my neck. The pants were formed the same way. Inside it was the same silky material then the shirt, but the outside was made out of black leather with a metallic shine that looked like scales. All this fit my body perfectly and as expected, it was smooth to the touch. However it didn¡¯t end with that. Out of brown leather a jacket was made with a fur scarf sewn into the collar part and a pair of gloves with the materials of the pants. The finishing touch was a pair of black leather boots that were padded with fur and a dark blue hair tie. With that my hair sat on my right shoulder falling onto the chest. As it is, it was a master piece. I showed off infront of Avamys who looked at me with crept out eyes. Now that I have hands I tried my luck at touching the forest lord¡¯s fur and petting his head. It felt great. Would it be a compliment if I said I want a doll made from his hide? With a slight unease and sadness I parted from my friend and made my way toward the village. Chapter 04 Follower number one No human in sight! I¡¯m getting irritated. It¡¯s been a whole day since I left. Not just humans. Even animals can¡¯t be seen. If I try searching for them with a skill called [Search] or [Detect] I can see them just fine. However¡ As I get closer, they get farther from me. It¡¯s a never ending circle. Now I¡¯m depressed because of my own power. It is true; being strong is sometimes a burden. Even though as a dragon I never needed to rest or sleep, in this human form I¡¯m tormented by them. I can still endure it for at least three to four days before I¡¯m knocked out. To prevent the sudden shutdown, I stop to rest sometimes. Fuhaa~ I¡¯m bored. ¡°Kyaa!¡± Mm?! I rush toward the scream. Finally some- ¡°Please, don¡¯t eat us!...¡± I am disappointed. The first meeting this one has on this journey is a couple of foxy animals with weird mask like faces and eyes that circle in 180¡ã like a chameleon. And a litter of weasel¡ no ferret, no, no... Maybe rat? Race aside; they will be ferrets for now. The situation goes like this: the freaky foxes want to eat these ferrets. My! They are extremely cute! Before they are eaten I need to chose between the two. Of course the cute and fluffy wins. So¡ bye-bye vixens. I leap toward the fighting animals, just between the two races to separate them. Just by swinging my arm I generate a strong wind that swept away the foxes. They got smashed onto the nearby trees and fell onto the ground. An adorable squeak came from behind. ¡°P-pl-please don¡¯t kill us.¡± I pity them. They tremble just from my sight. I¡¯m not even in my original form¡ Let¡¯s keep it a secret from now on. Now, interacting with a smile. ¡°Why would I kill you?¡± ¡°Shiver¡± Hm? They weren¡¯t relieved? Am I doing something wrong? Let¡¯s try again. ¡°Why do you think I want to harm you?¡± Umu. It is a good question. ¡°Shiver¡± They are still scared. Oo~ One of them stepped closer. From her scent I guess she s a female. Her white fur and red eyes are perfect. An albino, right? Why female? As a beast myself, if I concentrate on the smell I can tell various things; that aside. I nod to the white ferret. She gathers her courage. ¡°The Noh Foxes were killed too. That¡¯s why¡¡± So those are Noh Foxes. But¡ ¡°No, no. They are al-¡± I step next to the fox bodies and kick one slightly to show proof that they are alive, but¡ No response. What? They seriously died? I didn¡¯t even put any strength into that swing. They are done for. The mouth has white foam coming out and their eyes are transparent. Though the trees they were bashed into are in one shape¡ Unfair. The world is unfair. Or is it just me that¡¯s over the top? Looking at the frightened little ones I squat down. ¡°I don¡¯t plan to hurt you. I just wanted someone to speak to.¡± I tried reassuring them with a soft toned voice. And no, I didn¡¯t lie. It was frigging boring talking to myself. I¡¯m not good with conversations, but the silence is killing me. ¡°Don¡¯t lie! That kind of aura wouldn¡¯t be needed for a light chat!¡± The little white has a cocky attitude now. But¡ What kind of aura? I look at myself. Nothing. Thinking that perhaps it is an aura resembling [Ki] I examine my hands with [Sense Aura]. Somehow I¡¯m embarrassed. Not just by this accident but by my own laziness. I did look over some books about magic, skills, jobs and such but didn¡¯t bother to remember them. Creating them looked more fun. This was negligence on my part. I quickly searched for a way to solve this problem. The information said retract it, but¡ Retract? Like pulling back? Tried it with that image in mind and I felt something enter back into my body. It wasn¡¯t unpleasant just felt ichy. Looking at the small animals it seems the experiment went well. They weren¡¯t shivering and looked at me naturally. While they were collecting their thoughts I extracted my nails and swiftly dismantled the foxes. All the parts went into my storage called [Dimension Sack]. I know about the mechanism but don¡¯t understand it well. My common sense from the previous life must be in the way; in more than one way. After they relaxed I looked at them more closely. Even if I said a litter, this is too much and too cute. Beside the albino girl there was a reddish male and a brown female. They had bigger bodies than whitey. I guess she is a young one. From under the two adults eight little ones came out. They had pinkish nose, still children. I can¡¯t hold back. ¡°Hey~ Can I pet them?¡± If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. The supposed parents had a stunned expression with widened eyes. Nevertheless they nodded. Yahoo! I took one into my hand and pushed my cheek to his head. The baby was fluffy and soft and smelled so~ good. Ugh! No good. Keep up your guards. I want to pet them not eat them. The white girl watched this scene with a death glare. And I mean it. Even I found my back in goosebumps. The parents still couldn1t comprehend my newly showed expressions. It was funny. Ah~ I wanna take one home. The problem is¡ I have no home. You know¡ A cave couldn¡¯t be considered a home. That is a warm and comfy place where I can feel myself safe. With privacy, fresh meals and a toilet. Fumu! My goal from now on is to get a house. That¡¯s why onward to human settlements! Ara? I feel like I forgot something¡ Ugh! That¡¯s right! I was heading toward the village. With my retracted aura they shouldn¡¯t get scared. No problem anymore. Socialization is a piece of cake. Is what I¡¯d like to think, but in reality I have to work hard. I stop playing with the furballs and walk back to the road. The ferrets follow me like baby chicks. ¡°Going already?¡± Surprisingly whitey got attached to me. I didn¡¯t even interact with her; Aside from the first phrases. She has this ¡°Abandoning me?¡± expression. Mm¡ She can just come with if she wants! New element in my boring life; should be fun. ¡±Hey whitey.¡± ¡°W-whitey?!¡± ¡°Ah, well¡ because I don¡¯t know your name.¡± ¡°Hmp. I don¡¯t have one.¡± That was surprising. Seeing my confused look she sighed. ¡°Common monsters don¡¯t have names. If they are born with one then they are very lucky and will grow into a strong beast one day.¡± Hou~ That is new to me. The forest lord had a name and the old dragon too. I know that a dragon god having a name is a matter of course, but what about Avamys? I need to visit him in the future and ask. It is an interesting topic. Fumu. I nod in agreement to myself. This somehow pissed of whitey who shot a death glare at me. ¡°I plan on visiting a few cities and maybe travel the world. Do you want to come with me?¡± ¡°What-¡± Before she could decline the two adults stood next to her. ¡°It¡¯s fine. You already helped us a lot.¡± The red male reassured her that they will be fine without her. She should follow her own desires. That is what a monster is about. ¡°That¡¯s right. You might find a place to call home.¡± Reluctantly and embarrassed she nodded. The family proceeded into the deep forest and we stayed on the road for travelers. Whitey bowed to me with respect; this time, without any wariness. She must have protected that family with her life on the line. ¡°I will be in your care; forever, to be precise.¡± ¡°Ha?!¡± Surprise! Why the sudden personality change?! I must have had a really disturbing expression because she started telling her story to me. To sum it up; she is a white Izuna. I guess this refers to her spices. The color is treated as a faulty monster and ostracized by them. In a word she was abandoned. Then, when she resigned herself to death the two Izuna saved her. They treated her as family and raised her. When they had the babies she swore to protect them. It seems they will travel into a safer place so it was already fine for her to leave. Onto my part; she is exaggeratedly thankful for me. I saved the family she gave her life for so from now on her life belongs to me. While telling this she looked dignified¡ Whoa~ ¡°Even though you¡¯re just whitey.¡± is what I¡¯d like to say, but identifying her by the fur color she despises wouldn¡¯t be gentlemanly. ¡ .. . My mind is already in chaos over the genders¡ First priority to avoid disrespect; give her a proper name. Umu. That is a fine choice. I took her in my hands and lifted her infront of my face. ¡°From now on you¡¯re called- ¡± She had a look of expectation. But¡ ¡°Whitey.¡± ¡°Eh?! Why?!¡± ¡°Hm? ¡®cause I like your fur color. It resembles snow.¡± Fumu. She was silently disappointed, but secretly happy. What a tsundere. <> ?!The hell was that?! Character pictures and illustrations from now on Hope you will enjoy them. What I¡¯m staring at is a status report about my newfound follower and supposedly property, Whitey. [STATUS Name: Whitey (follower and property of the Lord of dragons and governor of wisdom and spirits) Race: Izuna Gender: Female Title: Pioneer of the Lord of dragons and governor of wisdom and spirits Skill: Shadow Magic: none Blessings: Divine Protection of the Dragon Lord and governor of wisdom and spirits ] Now this is interesting. As I glance over her personal information I stop at the skill called [Shadow]. Turning to her with questions in mind I see her fidgeting shyly. ¡°What does this [Shadow] skill do? ¡± ¡°Um¡ I can become the shadow of a person or animal, it seems¡¡± I press my thumb under my chin. ¡°Hou~¡± She can hide while in human territory. If my memory serves right, her skill is listed under the darkness attribute. If she could learn some offensive skills or magic she could become the perfect assassin for me. Ugh! No good! I¡¯m thinking about fighting again. Habits are scary. While lamenting about, Whitey took the opportunity and climbed onto my head. She puffed up her cheeks satisfied at the view before her. Ah~ I got sidetracked again. First of all; I.NEED.A.NAME. Even my follower¡¯s status report called me [Lord of dragons and governor of wisdom and spirits]. It¡¯s long ©¤ Feels disrupting and I can¡¯t introduce myself normally¡ Honestly, I felt that something lacked but I forgot about the basic of basics; the name. Pondering while closing onto the village I turned to Whitey who nestled on my head. ¡°Do you have any suggestions, regarding a name?¡± With her heightened respect, ¡°Ha! This one is unfit to name Master.¡± Not a helpful fella¡ That aside there was a name that came into mind, but I never researched its meaning. Would it be wrong of me to use it? Thinking such, I unknowingly bumped into something. It was the plate of a very bulky man. The guard of the village came into view. I got a little confused and noticed Whitey around my neck. To be precise she pretended to be a scarf. Smart! A~nd cute! I gave a shy smile to the guard. With cold iron at my neck I was questioned by the two guards at the gate. ¡°Who are you?¡± ¡°Show me your ID.¡± Wasn¡¯t this supposed to be a village? Why guards? Aside from that, the gate is huge! *Cough* Let¡¯s give them the lost puppy eyes! ¡°I¡¯m sorry. I got robbed in the forest and my ID¡ ¡± Okay~ Now comes the lamenting sideway glance. A~nd. Success! The skinny guard placed his hands onto my shoulders. He was weirdly tall and muscled. ¡°Must have been terrible!¡± The bulky man dragged him away. ¡°Sorry. He is an enthusiastic one. You can apply for a civilian ID at the city further north. Until then register at a Guild for identification purpose.¡± ¡°Thank you very much¡± Meek voice and politeness. Fufu. I¡¯m the finest actor here. The skinny guard led me to the adventurer¡¯s guild and we separated at the door. It was the biggest building in the village and seemed newly built. Fo~ol- They should learn to doubt people. Even though my clothes looked expensive¡ Haa--- Entering the building I found myself in a place similar to a bar. They sold simple food and drink next to managing adventurers. Calmly inspecting the surrounding people I headed toward the counter. ¡°Excuse me! I¡¯d like to register.¡± The staff welcoming me was a beautiful beast girl. If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.¡°Yes---¡° She was startled by my different colored eyes and almost fell over. However, despite that her recovery was quick and the smile returned to her face. ¡°For registration, please write your name and any other information you¡¯d like to reveal.¡± She had a really well proportioned body with small breasts. I¡¯m envious~ If I had small firm chest in my previous life, it could¡¯ve saved me from many troubles. ¡°I see. Thank you.¡± I took the paper and pen and started filling the places. Let¡¯s see¡ Name: Toue A fine name if I have to say. Race: - Let¡¯s leave it empty. Age: I don¡¯t know. To be precise I don¡¯t know which number to write, because I¡¯m only a few weeks old. Occupation: Various I guess I¡¯m good in anything. I handed the paper over to the girl. While reading she played with her orange hair. Giving a wry smile she took the paper. ¡°Thank you very much. The card will be made in a few hours. Please wait patiently.¡± I guess I will look around the stores. Seeing my troubled look the girl spoke to me again. ¡°Excuse me Toue-sama.¡± She looked at me straight with her golden eyes as her cat ears twitched. ¡°You can wait at the small restaurant near the gate or we can offer a simple meal for 5 copper coins.¡± Hmm¡ I want to eat in a room among fluffy pillows. ¡°Thank you. I will take a look at the restaurant first.¡± It was easy to find the restaurant. As the girl said it was the only place in this village that emitted the scent of food continuously. However small it was it had at two floors. When I stepped inside my instincts urged me toward the food. As expected. I haven¡¯t eaten anything normal recently¡ The man at the counter had a wide grin when he noticed me. How to put it¡ I guess he was a dwarf or something similar but at least three size bigger.
