《Darkest Entity》 Chapter 1 - A dim black marble We live in a world where obedience and being sheep-like is rewarded. People lose their individuality so that they could ¡°fit in¡± in a society of other sheeplike creatures. They tend to push back inside their subconscious minds what they are really like. They push back their true identity. They push back what they¡¯ve always wanted to be. It lays hidden inside and usually it never gets out. People struggle to hide their dark side and have become so proficient at it that they usually win. They hide it behind ¡°morals¡± and social norms. Have you ever thought what it would be like if everyone was themselves? Have you ever wanted what would the world look like if people¡¯s appearances were the same as their souls? What would it be like if being their dark side was rewarded? If your primal instincts were respected and feared? In this world, they call them ¡°Weirdoes¡± ¡°Liars¡± ¡°Drug addicts¡± ¡°Criminals¡± ¡°Killers¡± ¡°Psychopaths¡± ¡°Dictators¡±. Yet we refrain from calling them people. We believe that killing and stealing are not part of who we are. We believe that those primal instincts should be hidden for the better of us. So that we could live peacefully with ourselves and the world around us. Oh, how wrong we are. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ¡°Is that him?¡± ( A voice in the void) ¡°It seems that it is.¡± (Another voice in the void) It sounded like the 1st voice moved a little from his initial space so that he could have a better look at the man below. ¡°Pathetic¡­.¡± (the 1st voice) ¡°We all started from our pathetic little forms but we changed. For the better.¡± (2nd voice) ¡°That is indeed correct. But¡­ Just look at him¡± (1st voice) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Vin walked down the road from his university to his apartment with his headphones on while playing ¡°The Bloodhound Gang ¨C Bad Touch¡±. He picked his noose because a booger was bothering him, since he finished his lessons and was unable to remove it due to unfortunate circumstances (he just departed with a girl he really liked). ¡°Holy shit this booger is annoying¡± he said graciously as he did everything in his power to catch that little fucker inside his nose. ¡°Eureka!¡± He had removed the bugger from his nose. Unfortunately when he looked around a bunch of people were staring at him with ¡°WTF¡± looks on their faces. Vin threw the booger to the side and started to walk casually away from the scene he had caused. The music on his phone changed to ¡°Eminem ¨C The Real Slim Shady¡± and he started walking to the beat. --------------- ¡°It is time¡± (a voice from the void) --------------- *15 minutes later* Vin reached his home. There was something unusual in the scenery of his house. It took him a moment but with some effort he managed to concentrate to a black marble in front of his door, which had an aura of some sort and world around it was distorted. Vin, with a dazzled look on his face looked around but everything was really damn quiet as someone had turned down the volume of the world to 0. He moved forward 10ft so that he could observe the black orb from a little closer. As soon as he stepped forward the orb grew with a few centimeters. ¡°Ugh, I hate optical illusions¡± Vin thought and moved 2 steps forward. The black marble was no longer a marble, it was more like a huge round box, or a shield even. The distorted area around it also grew quite a bit. Now half of the house was looking like it was on drugs. Vin shook his head, thinking he was in a dream, he also pinched his skin so that he could wake up. However the huge black box (or shield) was still there. It looked like a purple portal for midgets. He tried moving backwards to his door, however the size of the black shield ( or a huge round box) was still the same. He went to the street to see if something will change. His music has stopped. A bird poo from above had stopped a few centimeters above his head. ¡°What the fuck?¡± Vin grabbed a stick from the bushes near him and removed the bird poo from the air, placing it carefully to the ground. He then got a rock and threw it to the portal. Unfortunately for him the rock stopped mobbing halfway through the air and the midget portal was intact. ¡°Holy fucking shit, the time has stopped. ¡° A smile suddenly appeared on his face and he started moving away from his house to the nearest shop. He opened the door and the salesman was frozen putting money in his safe. Completely frozen. A middle aged woman was coming from the back carrying supplies. She was a pretty face, so Vin acted like every 18 year old virgin would act ¨C he touched her boobs. Firstly he started off with a little poke and after he saw that nothing changed ¨C he grabbed the whole package and started squishing them ( they were DD¡¯s). He also checked some other private areas of the unfortunate woman and after 20 minutes or so he was finally tired from all the boob-grabbing, ass-slapping and other-private-areas-sexualizing ( Will leave it to your imagination.) ¡° I can¡¯t believe this is happening. This is like, the best goddamn dream ever ¡° He picked up some bottles and threw them on the ground. He also picked some of the most expensive booze and started drinking it. (Later he regretted this decision.) ¡°HOLY FUCKING YES, THIS IS AWESOME¡± Vin picked up some candies and went to the nearest technology shop ¨C he got himself the most powerful phone, camera, a gun he took from the guard and the best headphones he could find. He also tried downloading a picture of Nickolas Cage to all of the computers and setting it as desktop but unfortunately for him ¨C computers do not work in a time-stopped environment. ---------------------------------------------------------- ¡°What the fuck is this guy doing?¡± ( 1st voice the void) ¡°He¡¯s raping and pillaging for now as it appears¡± (2nd voice from the void) ¡°I ¡­.. oh wow, I¡¯m impressed¡± (1st voice from the void) ¡°I guess he¡¯s not as unfit as we thought¡± (2nd voice from the void) ¡°Well, I guess we might finally have a chance with him ¡± (1st voice from the void) ¡°We might finally win¡± (2nd voice from the void) ---------------------------------------------------------- After 0 minutes of pillaging (Because the time had stopped, get it, it is a joke) he had finally acquired the following things: God-tier phone, 20mega pixel camera, headphones, 3 pistols, a huge backpack he had always wanted, a katana, some used bras, some panties, a set of knuckles, a bag of gummy bears and a small bag of ammunition. ¡°Now let¡¯s see what is that huge black box (or shield) in front of my house¡± he thought to himself and dragged everything in a cart to his yard. Vin stood in front of the door to his yard staring at the black shield (or huge box) and started moving towards it. He reached the rock he had threw earlier and by then the portal had covered ? of the area of his vision while everything behind him was distorted. Vin threw the rock to the black area and just like he thought ¨C it was a portal as the rock just disappeared. Vin placed the panties and bras in his backpack along with the gummy bears, ammunition camera and 2 pistols. He realized that as he was near the portal his phone was working correctly so he put on his headphones set the music to ¡°Ac/Dc ¨C highway to hell¡± put a full-loaded gun under his belt, katana on the other side, knuckles in his pocket and marched straight into the black void. Chapter 2 - A voice in the darkness Vin felt like he had been dropped in an endless hole of darkness after he entered the portal. He was holding tight on his backpack with hopes that he would not lose his gummy bears. His headphones were tightly on his head so that he could listen to some nice and peaceful music. It was a while since his initial flight began and he had shifted through a few albums, now he was listening to ¡°Disturbed ¨C the sound of silence¡± which fitted the scenery quite well. ¡°How long will this fucked up dream even last¡­. Like come on, at least a few hours have passed and pinching myself apparently does not work. What if this really is not a dream and all of this is real?¡± Vin thought to himself but then suddenly started to laugh. ¡°Nah, it would be really awesome if this was true but¡­ life is not an anime where time suddenly stops and you enter a portal to an endless hole. If that were true then that would mean that I have left my mom and sis alone. Probably it is just one of those weird ass dreams that I get because I eat too much gummy bears (note: They are not only bears, they are also bananas, snakes, hearts and potatoes).¡± Vin thought of his life ¨C his friends, his family, his videogames. If all this were true¡­ why did he enter the portal? Why didn¡¯t he just live his life in a stopped timeframe, surely the time would start to tick back again¡­ Wouldn¡¯t it? ¡°Whatever, this is just a dream, it does not matter¡± he said to himself with great doubt. *after some time* Vin had fallen asleep with his hands holding tightly his bag when suddenly his fall began to slowly come to an end. His speed started dropping rapidly until he stopped moving which woke him up. ¡°Was I dreaming inside a dream? And why did I stop moving?¡± ¡°HELLO, VIN¡± (an echoing voice) ¡°Um¡­ what? I didn¡¯t hear that¡± Vin took off his headphones and put them on his neck. ¡°I SAID HELLO VIN¡± ¡°Hello voice, where the fuck am I and when the fuck can I finally wake up?¡± ¡°YOU ARE NOT IN A DREAM, VIN. THIS IS REAL, JUST AS YOU AND ME, JUST AS YOUR SISTER, JUST AS THOSE GUMMY BEARS IN YOUR BACKPACK. YOU ARE IN THE PLACE BETWEEN THE WORLDS, FOR NOW, VIN¡± ¡°So I am in Limbo? How the fuck I am alive then¡± ¡°DO NOT WORRY, VIN. THIS IS NOT LIMBO. YOU ARE HERE JUST UNTIL I EXPLAIN YOUR SITUATION. YOU SEE, THERE ARE GODS IN THE WORLD, VIN. HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT THE GODS THAT YOU HUMANS BELIEVE IN. THEY ARE ENTITIES THAT LOOK OVER THE BALANCE OF EVERYTHING. HOWEVER VIN, EVEN THOSE ¡°GODS¡± ARE NOT IMMORTAL. EVERY NOW AND THEN SOME OF THEM SEIZE TO EXIST, OR WHAT YOU CALL IT ¨C THEY DIE. ¡° ¡°And what does this has to do with me? I¡¯m just a normal teenager, I have done nothing wrong. What would they want to do with me?¡± ¡°WELL, VIN, WHEN A ¡°GOD¡± DIES SOMEONE NEW HAS TO TAKE THEIR PLACE. YOU SEE, VIN,THE UNIVERSE IS SEPARATED INTO DIFFERENT PARTS, WHAT YOU HUMANS CALL GALAXIES. A GROUP OF GODS WATCH OVER SAID GALAXY. FOR EXAMPLE ¨C YOUR GALAXY IS BEING WATCHED CURRENTLY BY THREE GODS ¨C VAH¡¯LE , SINRET AND KHA¨¦L. WHEN A GOD DIES, THE GODS FROM EACH GALAXY CHOOSE TWO CHAMPIONS TO FIGHT FOR THEM AND PLACE THEM IN A WORLD WHERE THE LAST CHAMPION STANDING CAN BECOME A GOD HIMSELF. IF BY COINCIDENCE THE TWO LAST CHAMPIONS ARE OF THE SAME GALAXY, THEY WILL BOTH BECOME GODS. ¡°Okokok, stop here, voice. So you¡¯re telling me that I have been chosen to become part of a bloodbath where if I win I become a god. What happens if I die?¡± ¡°YOU SEIZE TO EXIST, VIN¡± Royal Road is the home of this novel. IT IS A WORLD WHERE WHO YOU ARE DICTATES YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. ONCE YOU ENTER THE WORLD ALL OF YOUR STRENGTHS WILL COME TO SHOW, HOWEVER SO WILL YOUR FLAWS. I SEE THAT YOU HAVE COME PREPARED FOR BATTLE.¡± ¡°Oh, the guns and the katana? I just took them because I thought this is a dream and you know¡­ I¡¯ve always wanted to have a katana and a pistol for myself. In fact, I¡¯ve been saving for a kata-¡° ¡°I KNOW YOUR ENTIRE LIFE STORY VIN, I DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH YOUR LIFE AGAIN, PLEASE.¡± ¡°Well, fuck you too voice, I like my life¡± ¡°ANYWAY, LET ME CONTINUE EXPLAINING YOUR SITUATION, VIN. WHEN YOU ENTER THE BATTLEWORLD YOU WILL TRANSFORM. YOU MAY TRANSFORM TO A HUGE BEAST OR A SMALL BUG, DEPENDING ON YOUR PERSONALITY, SO YOU MAY WANT TO SAY GOODBAY TO YOUR CURRENT BODY. WHEN YOU START YOUR JOURNEY, YOU WILL GAIN A POWER. THAT POWER ALSO DEPENDS ON YOUR PERSONALITY. FURTHERMORE, VIN, FOR EACH OTHER CHAMPION THAT YOU KILL YOU CAN CHOOSE TO UPGRADE YOUR POWER OR TO ADD A NEW ONE TO YOUR ARSENAL. ULTIMATELY THE LAST ONE STANDING WILL BE THE ONE WHO HAS KILLED MOST CHAMPIONS. DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?¡± Vin stood up slowly, with a desperate look and with wattering eyes, even though he put all his strength to try and not look weak. ¡°You said, that from each galaxy there are two champions, what happens if I meet the other one? Will I be able to recognize him or her? And you said that we will populate a ¡°Battleworld¡±. What will this world be like, will it have animals? And what about food? How can I feed myself?¡± ¡°WELL, VIN, IF YOU MEET THE OTHER CHAMPION OF YOUR GALAXY YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHERE HE IS UNTIL YOU KILL HIM, OR IF HE KILLS YOU, OFCOURSE. FURTHERMORE, VIN, THE BATTLEWORLD IS NOT POPULATED BY ANIMALS OTHER THAN CHAMPIONS. YOU WILL HAVE TO FEED FROM EITHER CHAMPIONS OR FROM PLANTS. WHAT YOU WOULD ALSO NEED TO KNOW IS THAT EACH SEVENTH DAY FROM THE START OF THE SELECTION NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO DIE. THAT MEANS THAT WHEN THE SUN SETS DOWN ON THE SIXTH DAY ALL OF YOUR ATTACKS TO AN ENEMY WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING JUST AS THE ATTACKS FROM YOUR ENEMY WILL DO NOTHING TO YOU. IT IS CALLED ¡°THE PEACE DAY¡±, VIN. NOW, VIN, ARE YOU READY TO BE TRANSPORTED?¡± ¡°Can I just ask you one mo-¡° The ground beneath his feet started to shake and a white circle started to surround Vin. Suddenly, Vin felt quite dizzy as he could not contain all of the booze he had drunk, so he vomited and lost consciousness. *Some time later* Vin opened his eyes and heard the wind surrounding him as the leaves were rustling somewhere above. He enjoyed this moment. Then he remembered everything. ¡°OH SHITSHITSHIT, I am in the Battleworld fuckfuckfuuuuck!!!¡± Vin stood up and looked at his body ¨C two legs, two arms, he started touching his head ¨C nothing abnormal. He checked his pants ¨C he still had his mini Vin there. Vin was still Human. ¡°Well¡­ fuck¡± Chapter 3 - A goddamn tail Chapter 3 - A goddamn tail ¡°Why the fuck am I Human? The weird ass stalker voice told me I would change didn¡¯t it!?! Well, at least I¡¯m used to having my body type, so I guess I just need to know how to fight.¡± Vin looked around and realized he had spawned inside a forest. He was surrounded by oak trees and some types of plants that he did not know about, so he thought they were just some sort of alien plant species. Unfortunately for him though, he did not know if they were edible or not. As he was looking around he scratched his butt and screamed out of surprise. ¡°A TAIL? A GODDAMN TAIL?¡± He started walking in circles so that he could take a better look of his newfound tail. It appeared to be fused between a lion¡¯s and a tiger¡¯s except that it was a lot longer. By itself it could easily reach 2 meters which Vin instantly thought could come in quite handy. He practiced moving the tail for a while and the feeling was just as moving the toes of his feet, except it was above his butt, of course. Well, this might actually come quite handy, I can probably use this tail for long ranged combat if I just learn how to control it. He trained the movement on the same spot he had spawned out of fear that a predator might come and kill him straight from the start. It took no more than half an hour to fully master the movement of his extra limb and now Vin could actually bounce up to two meters from the ground. Okay, it appears that this tail is stronger than it looks like, now let¡¯s see if I can actually push myself using it He grabbed the nearest branch with his tail and gripped it as tightly as he could. After making sure that the tail would not let go of the branch he relaxed all of his muscles, but the ones on the tail as he tried to perform a ¡°tail pushup¡±. Unfortunately for him, however, as soon as he let his body go, he felt an uncontrollable pain right at the end of his spine (where the spine and tail connect) so he had to let go of the grip and fall to the ground, his body hitting the grass below him. Okay, so my tail is connected directly to my spine¡­ How dumb of me to expect something else. I guess I should¡¯ve payed more attention in my Biology classes. Vin got up and started to massage the joint between his two vertebra so that he could ease the pain a little. He also began to move around so he could limber up some more when a buzzing sound appeared around his neck. "God, I hate mosquitoes¡± So he pummeled the insect into his neck. I can¡¯t believe they have them in here too. It isn¡¯t enough that they had a nest between my books at home. My mom even had to ca- In front of Vin suddenly appeared a neon blue text that stopped his thought: Congratulations! You have slain an enemy champion! You can now choose whether to upgrade your current ability ¡°Inspect¡± or to gain the ability ¡°Fly¡± ¡°¡­. What?¡± ¡° I said that you can upgrade your ability ¡°Inspect¡± or you can gain ¡°Fly¡±, dummy!¡± ¡°Wait, wait, wait a minute. That was an enemy champion? Why was he a mosquito?¡± ¡°That is classified information, dummy!¡± ¡°Can you just please, stop calling me dummy, you stupid¡­ blue text, I guess? And can you please explain to me how can I use my ability? And of course I want to gain Fly!¡± ¡°Congratulations! You have learned the ability ¡°Fly¡±. To use ¡°Fly¡± simply name the ability and it will automatically be cast. Since fly is a continuous ability simply say ¡°Fly¡± again to cancel. Current abilities: Inspect ¨C Lvl.1 Fly ¨C Lvl.1 To preview more information about each ability simply command ¡°information (ability name here)¡± ¡°Oh I can see how this works. So this world is a PvP MMO. Well, good thing I wasted years playing games otherwise this would totally suck. Now let¡¯s see ¨C information ¡°Inspect¡±! Now let¡¯s see what you can say about flight. Information ¡°Fly¡±! Fly ¨C Lvl.1 By casting this ability you will be able to summon mosquito wings that will allow you temporary flight. If you cast it as a higher level you will be able to summon better wings. Current possible flight time: 10 minutes. Wings cooldown: 8 hours Next level bonus: Butterfly wings You have gained this ability by killing a defenseless mosquito. ¡°Well, technically, the mosquito attacked me. Anyway, it seems that for now flight is useless and it would be good for me to save it up in case someone attacks me. As for ¡°Inspect¡± it seems that I will have to use it to make combat easier. Hmm, with that in mind I wonder what it says about me.¡± Vin took a good look at his body. "Inspect!" Name: Vin Weakness: Physical damage; Magical damage; Gummy bears; His sister; Math. ¡°Oh wow, jeez, you don¡¯t have to be such an asshole about it." So it appears that it also shows my name and not only physical weaknesses, it also shows emotional ones. This may come quite handy. And it seems to not have a cooldown so I may use it as I wish, which is quite a plus as well. Vin looked around while the blue letters faded from his sight and it was getting dark. it is noon. I should just find a place to hide, but first I might actually want to take a look around. "Fly!¡± As he used his ability, his spine suddenly began to vibrate as two pairs of wings began emerging from his back. Vin felt the wings as they were a part of his own body since he was born. He took off his shirt so that he may actually control the wings. They appeared to be strongly attached to his back, just like his tail. He looked above and all he could see were branches with leaves. ¡°Ah fuck it, LETS DO THIS!¡± Vin ducked with his legs and placed his tail on the ground so that it could give him a huge boost in the jump. He moved the wings a little bit so that they could limber up and prepared to jump. And then he stopped. Vin placed his hand in his pocket and took his phone out. The battery was sitting at 24% as he had played games all day at school. Never the less he opened his Music player, put on his headphones and played ¡°Thousand Foot Krutch ¨C Let the sparks fly¡±. The music started playing, he took his position, prepared his tail, ducked and looked straight into the sky. His spine began to vibrate, the muscles on his feet and tail exploded with the burst of energy he put into the jump. The leaves and branches became bigger and bigger as everything next to them just blurred out. Vin smiled for the first time since he had entered the portal.
