《Alternate Amalgamation》 The Magic Of Cadvar Locaz I''m just a simple mechanic, set in an everyday, ordinary steam powered town. Cadvar Locaz is the name, but sometimes I tend to think that there is more to life instead of all this steam and all sorts of machines. I like to believe magic exists, and I know, I know, its just a fairy tale, but what if it wasn''t? I have a side job of entertaining people with magic tricks, but oh how I wish it were the real deal. Oh well, no use pouting over something nonexistent. .... I woke up one morning , a day like every other with the daily routine of eat, sleep, work, magic shows, and bathe.... in that order. I get out of bed, eat my breakfast and take a slight nap, then head out for work. Nothing fancy, just fixing random obscure machines. One time some old guy pulled in driving a toilet of all things, and asked me to fix it. How do you fix a motorized toilet? Anyways, I''m walking down the sidewalk when out of no where, a door stands in front of me, just sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, and everybody else don''t even see it and are walking right through it. Believing I was going crazy but still deciding to humor myself, I open the door, and then nothing. I mean literally nothing, I passed out. When I came to, I was lying in a field of grass. on a flippin, flying island. That wasn''t even the weird part, in the distance I was watching a giant EATING a DRAGON! Really confused and wondering if I had actually gone mad, I slap myself, but much to my surprise, nothing changed the island and the dragon-eating giant were still there. Then I hear rustling, and turn to find out what more weirdness appears before me, and a woman shows up. Relieved that it wasn''t something kind of creature that might''ve wanted to kill me, I noticed her ears. They were pointed as in elf pointed. Here''s where things got fun. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. After 2 hours trying to convince Alniva (the elf), that I''m actually a human that turns out to be wherever I''m at''s fairy tale creatures. So here I am, in a world where humans don''t exist, and am now the sole living human in history, which is scary and awesome in so many ways. After we both come to terms about whats what, she takes me to her village, where the elves were completely in awe over the fact that a human was standing in their village. After answering so many questions about humans, and where I cam from, and if there were more like me, I discovered they had no idea how I was even here or what could have cause it. They offered to help me find a way home, but 3 years later living in this wonderful world, I was a master mage, which was my life long, supposed to be unachievable dream, and even married Alvina. Everything was fine and amazing until one day, I blacked out, and I woke up in the hospital back in town. A friend from work who was notified I was awake, told me that I''ve been unconscious and in a coma for 3 whole years after suddenly passing out on the sidewalk. Upset that everything that happened wasn''t real and just a dream, I told him what I had dreamed, at which he said it was one helluva dream. After a while when he''s gone and the doctor and nurses are done checking on me, I feel a surge of energy, I lift up my hand and magic sparks between my fingers. Oh that wasn''t a dream, and I have my magic to prove it. I''m gonna find my way back, and I''m gonna have the time of my life when I do. I''m Cadvar Locaz, and this is my story, and magic is bloody marvelous. The Misadventures of Super What? Being a hero, isn''t all what people make it up to be. It''s always work, work, work, whenever you don''t want it to happen, and you don''t get paid. Also my powers suck. People call me Super What, and tend to stay behind during any crime and watch what happens when I show up. My power? Everything. Can I control it? No. I get one random power a day, no matter how dumb or over powerly amazing it may be. Once I had the power to turn buildings into plants. Yesterday, I shot bunnies out of my EYES! This is the only reason people show up to watch me fight, or at least try to. Of course there are some good days, but they may as well be as rare as my love life. I once had the power to shoot solar flares, downside to it was I got it on the day of the biggest heat wave of the year. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. Lately I found out people will start to stage crimes, just to see what stupid power I get stuck with today. I think I heard that there''s a TV show about my super powered blunders as well. But like I said sometimes there are good days, like today? I''m a giant hamster wrestling a giant robot. I have to admit, my powers are also one of the reasons I get up to do this. The Nonexistence of Jimmy Cowl I woke up to an average as usual day. I was getting prepared for school, to do the usual learning (sleeping) thing, but there was a problem. My parents freaked out, yelling at me and asking "Who the hell are you?! How did you get here?!" At first I thought this was just a bad prank, and went along with it saying "I''m your son." They didn''t believe me, they honestly didn''t know who I was. At the time I didn''t know. I walked out the door after I grabbed my stuff and headed towards the bus stop. When the bus arrived, the driver asked if I was new. "Haha, real funny Mr. Davis." Must be in on it with my parents I thought. I sat at my seat right next to my best friend. He just stares at me, until I turn around and say "Alright man, why are you staring at me, you know I don''t like staring." All he says is "Do I know you?" "Real funny Mike, did my parents get you in on the joke to? This is getting messed up." I replied. He confused, cautious look begins to grow on his face, and says "First, how do you know my name? Second, why do you think I know your parents?" Starting to get angry, I begin to yell at him "DUDE! This is really getting old! I''m Jimmy Cowl, YOUR BEST FRIEND!" But the look on his face he gives me when I said that. He wasn''t lying, he really didn''t know me. Then things went dark. When I came to, I was sitting at my desk in my math class, and my teacher was handing out worksheets. Okay, it was just a dream. So I sit up and pull out my pencil to get ready for the worksheet, but my teacher walks right past me to the seat behind me. I reach over and tell him "Hey, you skipped me." She doesn''t hear me. So I reach over and touch her arm, but my hand goes right through. Confused and scared, I begin to panic, and try to get someone else''s attention. I reach over to Diane, the girl sitting to my right, and my hand goes through her head. "What''s going on?! Why can''t I touch people?" Then all of a sudden, Diane looks to me and starts to call the teacher, and says "Mrs. Louis? Who''s backpack is that?" and points to mine. Mrs. Louis looks back and sees it and says, "Well that''s weird, I didn''t notice that. Maybe it belongs to another student from last period." "HEY! THAT''S MY BAG!" I yell as Mrs. Louis takes it to her desk. What''s going on? That''s when I heard something I would never forget. "Jimmy, I''m sorry that this has happened to you. It shouldn''t have happened at all." Says this voice that sounds like an average old man, but has this feeling of great domination and control. "Who''s there?!" I yell. "I am God." The voice says. God?! The voice just said it was God?! "What''s happening?! Why don''t people know I''m here? Why do act like I never existed?" After a pause, God says "Because you don''t. At least, not anymore. I''m sorry Jimmy, this should never have happened. I don''t know what caused this, but you can count on the fact that I''ll do all in my power to help you." Suddenly a strange calm overflows me. "Is there something I can do in the mean time?" I ask. "Well what would you want to do?" God asks. "I want to help people. Make them happy. Even if they don''t remember me, I want to help." I truly did, out of all the things I ever wanted, I just wanted to help people, and make them happy. "I believe that can be arranged. I will give you power to return to existence, but only temporarily, but in a different body. You will still be human of course, but you won''t be in your current body. I will create a temporary form, just for you to inhabit as I place you near the person I want you to help. Remember though, they will only remember what you did for them, they won''t remember you." He says. "That''s fine. As long as I can help." If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. So now I''m in a prison in Jersey. I''m prisoner #0034. My cellmate turns out to be the guy I''m supposed to help. "So what are you in for?" God that was so corny. "I was framed." Was all he says. "Well, since we''ll be stuck with each other for awhile, lets start with introductions. My name is..." I pause. Should I say my actual name? Or come up with an alias? "J.C. My name is J.C." J.C.?! Really? Smooth Jimmy, smooth. "Jeremy. Look I''m not here to make friends. I just wanna clear my name, and get this over with." So just like that 2 days of silence goes by. How long am I stuck like this anyways? "Until you''re done with your current client." I hear God state in my head. I try to get Jeremy to open up to me, to see how I can help him. Turns out he was framed for a robbery, because the masked robber who stole from the convenience store by his house claimed he was him. On top of the fact that his family was being evicted from their house, had no where to go and almost no money due to paying for lawyers and legal stuff. That''s when I hear God say in my head, "Jimmy tell him you can solve his problems, I will give you keys to a home suitable for his family''s needs. Give it to him before you leave the prison tomorrow. Tomorrow. That was when this character of mine is done with his sentence. Jeremy gets out the day after. So at night while we are laying in our bunks, I tell him. "Jeremy my friend. Tomorrow I''m gettin out of here. When you''re done here as well. Come find me, at this address. And bring your family, I got somethin for you." I write down the address of the house God told me on a piece of paper a guard gave me, and handed it to him. "Yeah, sure." He says as he shoves the paper in his pocket. The next day, the guards release me, and I''m teleported next to a tree in front of this big white house. In the distance I can hear a car stop in front of the drive way. I look over and Jeremy and his family step out of a yellow taxi. They walk up to me, and I say "Jeremy, I''m gonna be leaving for a while, and I need someone I can trust to run things for me." I hand him the keys and say "These are the keys to the house behind me. You''ll find a car in the garage. Oh and don''t worry, all your financial needs are covered. Don''t worry." "Why are you doing this?" Jeremy says as he stares at the keys. "My friend, I''m goin on a journey. I don''t know when I''ll be back, and given your family''s current situation, who best to fill the house while I''m gone." "But-" I stop him. "No buts. I''m here to help a friend, that''s all. Go ahead, take a look inside. Oh and I sent some people to bring your stuff here for you." He starts to tear up, and he hugs his wife. "Thank you." He says. "Thank you so much." I start to get this tugging feeling in my head, and realize my work here is done. "Well I best be off now, have fun." I begin to walk towards the edge of the drive way, when I turn around and say "Oh yeah, I never told you what J.C. stood for. Did i?" Jeremy looks at me and says "No, I don''t think you did." "Jimmy Cowl. It stands for Jimmy Cowl." I doubt he''ll remember though, once I''m gone, I''ll be forgotten. I start to fade away as I keep walking, and I''m back in a room where an old man I suppose is God, sits across from me in a chair. "Well. Did you have fun?" He says. "Yeah, I suppose I did. Think I can do it again?" I ask. "I believe that can be arranged." He says as he strokes his long white beard. Long after the man known as J.C. or Jimmy Cowl as he said when he left. Jeremy sits in a chair looking out the window of his new house, with a happy, peaceful look on his face, and he says "Jimmy Cowl, huh. I hope we can meet again in the future."
