《The Primordial God Slayer》 Chapter 1 – The Fall Since the beginning of time, every living creature is bound to die and cease to be in the world of living. One specie that pales in comparison when it came to strength and longevity sought to circumvent death by seeking immortality. They did not have the infinite knowledge and profound wisdom of the mystical creatures known as dragons. Nor did they have the regenerative abilities and endless longevity of the terrifying phoenix. Most formidable creatures live for thousands of years but this particular specie could only live for less than a century. Perhaps it is their unwillingness to die or be the weakest that they started thinking differently than the rest. By a series of intriguing events, this weak specie managed to become top of the food chain in certain parts of this world. This specie was of course the tenacious humans. Xerita is a wide and boundless world filled with enigmatic lands that could not be comprehended with logic. One of these lands is the country of Qing which contains many magical zones with dense spiritual energy. Spiritual energy is the force behind the mysteries and wonders of this world. It was with the accumulated knowledge regarding spiritual energy passed down through the ancestors of mankind that humans can now stand side by side with the top predators of the land. Although true immortality has yet been achieved, outstanding individuals have harnessed the power to summon devastating tsunamis, move colossal mountains and create earth-shattering thunders. Till this day, the people still strive for immortality. However not everyone is able to harness spiritual energy and those without that ability is doomed to live a short and hard life. Those that can sense and control spirt power are known as cultivators. The difference in power between an ordinary mortal and a cultivator is like heaven and earth. Cultivators are lofty individuals that usually group up with other cultivators in pursuit of immortality. Mount Huang is the home to the Huang Clan and is the largest mountain in the east of the country of Qing. This mystical mountain stretches for over a hundred kilometers and is home to thousands of cultivators. It contains a high abundance of spiritual energy along with magical forests, minerals, herbs, beasts, and anything else that a cultivators could use to increase their individual power. Even if you are an ordinary mortal that lives on Mount Huang as a servant, your lifespan would double without even practicing cultivation. This was how special this mountain was. The Huang clan is one of the five major powers belonging to the Hwan Dynasty that rules over the country of Qing. They supported the founder of the Hwan Dynasty when they waged war against the previous monarch for supremacy over the country of Qing. As such the Huang clan dominate over the eastern part of the country currently. Since the founding of the Kwan Dynasty, they have enjoyed the monopoly of the Mount Huang which granted countless benefits to its members. The greatest gain is when one of the past patriarch of the clan discovered a corpse of a legendary Spectral Tiger that allowed the Huang clan to reach new heights. Due to its enormous size, Mount Huang has not been completely explored and everyone can say for certain that there is definitely more sacred treasures to be found within this mystical mountain. Before the mighty Huang clan conquered this piece of priceless land, an infamous group of outlaws dominated it. Earlier than them was a sect of priests that attempted to discover the mysteries regarding this cryptic mountain. At any rate, no one completely explain the dense spiritual energy that surrounds the mountain. Stolen story; please report. At one of the corners of Mount Huang was a man on the back of a large snow colored eagle falling downwards at an extremely fast speed. The helpless flying creature spread out its wings hopelessly in an effort to soften the inevitable impact to the land below. Boom! The pair slammed mercilessly into the earth below and created a small man-sized crater. A few moments later the man crawled out of the crater and looked back at his companion that saved his life. The eagle beast had paid the ultimate price to save its master and ended up as a corpse that¡¯s hammered into the ground. Dark clouds slowly appeared and poured harsh rain upon the pitiful individual that was now kneeling beside the crater. ¡°Little Wang, you saved my life once again. If it wasn¡¯t for you, I would have long perished old friend. The Gods sure are cruel, I¡¯m sorry I couldn¡¯t be a better owner. You suffered so much because of me but rest assured, I¡¯ll get revenge for the both of us!¡± The person said as he slowly got up from the ground and started burying the flying beast. Although extreme sorrow could be seen, his eyes contained no tears. Only a determination harder than steel could be seen. ¡°Huang Clan¡ even if you are a Rank 7 clan, I swear that I¡¯ll exterminate you all from the roots one day!¡± The man gritted his teeth as he started walking away. The name of this person was Kyo and technically he was a member of the Huang clan as well. However the hatred he has for the clan that treated him worse than trash for decades could last for many lifetimes. Kyo was one of the child belonging to the Shin family that rules over one of the three peaks of Mount Huang. The Shin family is one of the prominent powers in the clan due to its ability to produce outstanding Saints each generation! Saints are cultivators that have reached a point where they can live over a millennia and have the ability to freely soar through the skies. The majority of the people in the Huang Clan are cultivators that can manipulate spiritual energy and perform miraculous feats. Descendants of cultivators are usually blessed with the innate talent to become cultivators as well. For Kyo this was not the case however. Although his father is the patriarch of the Shin family that rules over the Rising Sun Peak and his mother is one of the High Priest of the clan, Kyo inherited neither of his infamous parents¡¯ talents. His father was a Saint Lord that was known throughout the country and achieved countless merits on behalf of the clan. It was common for powerful cultivators to have many wives because for strange unknown reasons, it is harder for strong cultivators to have children. Kyo¡¯s build was vastly different from the rest of his siblings. The men of the Shin family were famous for their masculine builds and raw strength at a young age but Kyo had neither of that. However there was one thing he did have, outstanding intelligence. Before the age of one he already learned to speak fluently and is able to communicate with others with ease. At age of two he could write and read, shocking anyone who had encountered him. At age of five he was discussing theories regarding spiritual arts with distinguished scholars of the Huang clan. This alone had singled him out to be an outstanding genius. Most were eager to see how he would turn out in the future. However how did this person end up in such dire straits? Chapter 2 – Betrayal Part 1 Kyo limped as he slowly walked away from the crater where he fell from an immeasurable height. Even though his flying companion cushioned the fall for him, he was not without injuries. The only thing he had on him besides the clothes on his back was just a plain sword sheathed in a wooden scabbard. Each painful step he took, a person that crossed him would flash through his mind. Vengeance was the only thing that keeps a person like him with a foot in the grave going. After fifty excruciating steps he finally made it to a trunk of the tree where he collapsed. Closing his eyes, his mind drifted to the events that led to his deadly fall from Mount Huang. One of them involved Tang Su, his so called best friend. Kyo was currently twenty-three years old but he had known Tang Su ever since they were babies. Tang Su was the nephew of the current patriarch of the Huang clan so naturally his position was higher than Kyo¡¯s at birth. However since Kyo appeared to be a peerless genius back then, the patriarch arranged it so that the two would grow up together. Patriarch Rowen had no sons of his own so he treated Tang Su like his own child. In fact Kyo even taught Tang Su how to read and write! Thinking back to two nights ago, the boundless fury within him rose to a whole new level even though he was only half conscious. The current Kyo was only a common laborer that did chores like a regular servant. Tang Su had long stopped communicating with him due to certain events. Yet Tang Su showed up with a group of his lackeys demanding something from him when he was doing his daily physical labor. ¡°Kyo, long time no see buddy.¡± Tang Su said politely as he approached with a group of cultivators in the same generation as themselves. There were seven in total, two were also old acquaintances. The other four he hasn¡¯t spoken to before but the enmity was there nonetheless. The seven were all in the Saint Expert realm. All of them belonged to the Heaven Peak of Mount Huang ruled by the Shin family. ¡°Hm.¡± Kyo ignored the incoming group and continued to chop firewood. How dare that Tang Su call him buddy? Ever since he fell on hard times over a decade ago, he pretended he didn¡¯t know Kyo and barely spoke to him. ¡°Aren¡¯t you a bit disrespectful? Where are your manners?¡± One skinny tall man said coldly. His name was Siwan, apprentice to Saint Champion Jo Dion. Jo Dion was an infamous flame user that can summon a storm of flames and devastate a whole town single-handedly. An invisible warm force warped around Kyo and slammed him forward into the ground. The axe within Kyo¡¯s grasp flew out and pointed directly at his next. In terms of cultivation, Siwan was the most advanced amongst the group. ¡°There that¡¯s better.¡± Siwan sneered. Tang Su quickly raised his arm and stopped Siwan from going too far. Guilt and pity secretly struck his own heart due to everything Kyo had done for him in the past. ¡°What do you want?¡± Kyo said bluntly even as he was pressed down by spirit force. There was no trace of emotion on his face. Humiliation was something he was used to. ¡°This trash dares to¡¡± Siwan started to mutter with frustration but Tang Su silently motioned him to quiet. Although Tang Su was slightly weaker than him but his position vastly overwhelms his as the nephew of the patriarch. However Siwan could not accept that a Saint Rookie dares to talk back to him, a Saint Expert! The path of cultivation is ranked as the following; Saint Rookie, Saint Journeyman, Saint Expert, Saint Master, Saint Warrior, Saint Champion, Saint Lord and Saint King. The Patriarch of the Huang Clan is rumored to be a Saint King while the three ruling families that support the Patriarch is definitely Saint Lords. Each realm is exponentially harder to achieve than the previous. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Alright Kyo, we¡¯ll get to the point. We want the Five-Point Rebirthing fruit that you acquired during the annual Rookie Spiritual Medicine Hunt. It would be wasted on someone like you who is over twenty but just a Saint Rookie.¡± A more scholarly man spoke up this time. He spoke straightforwardly but his voice contained no arrogance. This person was Hanso, one of Kyo¡¯s past acquaintances. Right now Hanso is one of the apprentices of the head researcher for spiritual techniques, Saint Champion Galadin. Hanso was quite intelligent but was born between two lowly servants in the Shin household. Of course his intelligence lags behind Kyo¡¯s own but that did not stop Kyo from interacting with him in the past. Thanks to Kyo¡¯s insistence and help, Hanso was allowed to partake the same training that only people with influential background was able to. It wouldn¡¯t be a stretch to say that without Kyo, Hanso could not have started the path of sainthood, nevermind reaching the Saint Expert stage. ¡°Please Kyo, let¡¯s not make this harder than it already is. We don¡¯t want to hurt you.¡± Another calm voice rang out. It belonged to Aiden, Kyo¡¯s very own cousin. A practitioner of the swords under the only Saint Lord not related to the patriarch or the three founding families of the Huang clan. Similarly Aiden was close to Kyo in the past, her parents wanted her to follow the intelligent toddler Kyo to greatness but obviously she stopped interacting with him after Kyo¡¯s fame declined. Kyo¡¯s expression didn¡¯t change but deep down his emotions were in turmoil. There was only one person that knows he acquired a divine fruit that anyone under the Saint Ruler realm would die for. This person was the only person he trusted in the whole wide world. Incomparable dreadful and vindictive feelings filled his heart. He had guarded himself pretty well emotionally since he became the trash of the Huang clan. The useless son of the great Shin family who could not practice any of the Huang clan spiritual arts. The hopeless loser that is weaker than kids a decade younger than him. The inadequate human that might as well be a mortal living outside of Mount Huang. With a bitter laugh Kyo quickly said, ¡°Sure. Five hundred gold spirit coins and ten spiritual medicine suitable for pathetic Saint Rookies like me from each of you.¡± ¡°What?¡± The seven of them couldn¡¯t help but cry out. Five hundred gold spirit coins is no small amount even for people like them. They came to extort him so naturally they wanted to keep this matter a secret, there was no way they could use their family¡¯s money. They can¡¯t risk having the news of the Five-Point Rebirthing fruit leak out. It had to come out of their personal stash. Kyo¡¯s mind was still as sharp as ever even if he can¡¯t cultivate much. He knew that each of them most likely have around a thousand gold spirit coins at most. ¡°You little punk¡ just see how I torture you, you¡¯ll wish you were dead.¡± Siwan shouted with fury. Why did that trash even want spiritual medicine? They were hard to come by since only those who practices the way of alchemy with at least three tiers of Enlightenments could concoct proper spiritual pills. ¡°Go ahead. Even if I am the trash of the Huang clan, I still belong to the Shin family. I dare you to kill me.¡± Kyo said as he locked eyes with Siwan. The unwavering steel eyes of his caused Siwan to subconsciously stop talking. Chapter 3 – Betrayal Part 2 Siwan could only grit his teeth as he tried to control his anger. He could snap Kyo like a twig without touching him but he would definitely suffer greatly afterwards. Even if Kyo was a cripple, he is still one of the sons of the Shin family. As long as Kyo isn¡¯t gravely injured, no one would even raise an eyebrow for him. If he was killed though, the Shin family would lose face and avenge him. ¡°Furthermore I¡¯ve already buried this fruit inside a special case under one of millions of trees on Mount Huang. Good luck finding it without me.¡± Kyo continued on indifferently. ¡°This is¡¡± The group that came prepared to take candy from a baby didn¡¯t think Kyo would be so cunning. It was harder than finding a needle in a haystack since the Heaven Peak belonging to the Shin family exceeds ten thousand acres already. Also he might not have hidden it at one of the three peaks! The commoners of the Huang clan live in the middle area of the mountain and the population is in the tens of thousands. ¡°In fact¡ I could just sell it to the Ling or Kang families as well. I¡¯m sure they would gladly pay the price.¡± Kyo said with a carefree attitude. The Ling family rules over the Earth Peak while the Kang family rules over the Ocean Peak of Mount Huang. There is naturally rivalry between the three families that rule over the three peaks of Mount Huang so Kyo could definitely sell the divine fruit easily. The faces of aggressors paled. The Five-Point Rebirthing fruit was a godly item that could produce at least five profound spiritual pills that would greatly aid them in their cultivation. The reason why Kyo had not consumed it himself is because that he could not find a trustworthy alchemist to concoct the pills for him. Any alchemist would definitely take the resulting pills for themselves. The effects of this fruit was that it can open five random meridians for cultivation! Its successes were highest for people under the Saint Champion realm. ¡°Fine! You better show up with the fruit or I¡¯ll take that cocky head of yours even if it¡¯s the last thing I do!¡± Siwan screamed out. ¡°Meet me at the Cliff of Demise besides the meditation pagoda.¡± Kyo replied indifferently and walked away. He didn¡¯t bother looking at the group. Knowing that they desired the Five-Point Rebirth fruit more than he did, there was no way they would harm him now. Kyo continued to finish his chores and returned to the Shin family household. It was an impressive mansion built with high class spiritual stones which emitted a gentle silver glow all around. However, instead of walking through the front entrance, Kyo went towards the garden where a much smaller and less grand structure stood. This was the dorm that servants lived in. How did a member of the prestigious Shin family end up here? It all started when Kyo became eight years old. This was the age where all children began developing senses for spiritual energy. Kyo had become the talk of the clan as the genius with unrivaled potential. Grandmasters of the clan had longed to rope him in as their disciple. They came to chat, play chess, and teach him on a daily basis. Every remarkable masters of the clan all want Kyo to tread down the path they specialized in. Usually one picks one or two paths for cultivation. Besides spiritual energy, one had to gain enlightenment on the path they chose to partake. There is the path of alchemy, the path of the sword, the path of flames, the path of poison, the path of assassination and so on. That does not mean one is constricted to one path, it¡¯s just hard to master multiple paths of sainthood. However spiritual energy is the basis of all paths to immortality and without it, it doesn¡¯t matter how many tiers of Enlightenments you gain. Your longevity will not be extended and your skills can not be used. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Due to the special tutelage Kyo received from various prominent masters and his extremely high intelligence, he had reached the second tier of Enlightenment in almost all the fields that the clan had to offer. The first Enlightenment usually requires a decade for a regular cultivator to achieve, the anticipation for Kyo¡¯s growth skyrocketed. However something unexpected happened. Kyo could not muster any spiritual energy! No matter how hard he tried, his body could not absorb an ounce of spiritual energy. At first everyone thought he was just a late bloomer but once he reached the age of nine, panic settled in for everyone. The Huang clan invited renowned doctors throughout the land to check up on him after their own doctors couldn¡¯t find out what¡¯s wrong. The only solution they had was feeding Kyo enough spiritual medicine to jump start his path to sainthood from a regular mortal. The latest straw was when a wizard from imperial family came to pay a visit after hearing rumors of a miraculous kid that could talk before the age of one and was as wise as a man in his hundreds. It was a supreme wizard whose cultivation was unfathomable even for experts of the Huang clan to discern. At first he was extremely impressed by Kyo¡¯s intelligence. Kyo¡¯s near perfect memory along with his terrifying comprehension skills made him a perfect candidate to learn ¡°magic¡±. Magic users are one of the rarest amongst cultivators. With Kyo¡¯s mind, he easily gained enlightenment regarding the basics of magic and reached the second tier of enlightenment within a few weeks! This was unprecedented but the problem regarding Kyo¡¯s lack of spiritual energy was still not solved. Finally the Shin family paid a high price to allow Ryu to summon a magic companion. All magic users can summon one companion at any point in their life. If the companion dies, you can summon a new one. The strength of the companion corresponds to the innate talent of the caster so it doesn¡¯t matter if a ten year old performed the ritual or if a century old man did. This meant that even if you killed the summoned companion, you won¡¯t get a better one next summon. There was a lot of anticipation for the ritual, if the magic companion was extraordinary then perhaps there is hope for Kyo. However¡ the first companion summoned was a fragile baby eagle! Although the clan members of the Huang clan had no magic users, they could tell that Kyo¡¯s magic companion might as well be a wooden stick. The mighty wizard concluded that although Kyo has a brilliant mind, he has no talent whatsoever with cultivation. In this world people with true power must cultivate. Without spirit power, no matter how smart you are you will only amount to nothing. The Huang clan is a rank 7 clan. Naturally their martial skills and cultivation methods were top class. When it was found that Kyo had low affinity with spiritual energy, he was slowly forgotten. At first the Shin family considered using expensive medicines to help Kyo continue on the path to sainthood but obviously the people under Kyo¡¯s shadow all this time used this opportunity to obstruct him. Kyo had three brothers and two sisters, each from different wives of his father. Each wife wanted their own kid to succeed the family so no one supported helping Kyo and instead went out of their way to sabotage him. Kyo¡¯s father, the head of the Shin Family, was slowly swayed by the argument that true experts don¡¯t use spiritual medicine to cultivate since leveling by spiritual medicine is expensive and shows that you have no potential in the future. Just like that, Kyo¡¯s fall into a hellish life began. Chapter 4 – Betrayal Part 3 Kyo¡¯s mind suddenly flashed to a few hours ago, the moment before he fell off Mount Huang. He had made meticulous arrangements to leave the clan. He wanted to try to make it in the mortal world below. Most cultivators, especially ones from a prestigious clan such as the Huang Clan, look down upon people who can¡¯t cultivate. They call them mortals due to their short lifespans and sees them nothing more than ants and livestock. He had already descended covertly towards the middle area of Mount Huang from the Heaven Peak. It was relatively easy since he was a loner that no one paid attention to. The humiliation and disappointment from the revelation that Kyo can¡¯t cultivate was so great that Kyo¡¯s very own father, Polwei, stopped communicating with him for over a decade. All the grandmasters that had hopes for him all lost interest instantly. His own siblings started shunning him since they could care less about his wellbeing. The friends he made slowly drifted away as they started practicing cultivation because it¡¯s embarrassing to be associated with him. Their positions had reversed, before Kyo was miles ahead of them in life and suddenly he was nobody. Before long he was reduced to the status of a servant and was given a small allowance as long as he performed his chores. The servants treated him horribly since he came from a prestigious background and often abused him. Still Kyo was extremely cautious, he chose uncommon routes that had sparse people so he could descend the mountain without much attention. He wore a common robe and had a plain sword by his side, most people would think he is a clan member from a low class family with a glance. Just when everything was going smoothly, something unexpected occurred. What happened next will be forever engraved to his mind. A hazy fog from the early morning was blanketing the path softly, transparent water drops dripped from the leaves beside him as he walked down the trail. Then without warning, mythical lights flashed from all sides and converged a meter in front of him. As it did so, the grey fog completely dispersed and even the light morning breeze disappeared. The figure in front of him was cladded in black baggy clothes and even had a demon-like mask on. It was obvious this person did not want his or her identity revealed. ¡°Hand over the Five-Point Rebirthing fruit or die.¡± A cold husky voice came from the figure. An invisible pressure shocked Kyo¡¯s mind and made him kneel, the pain was worse than a knife stab. Knowing that the moment he gives up the fruit his life will be forfeited, Kyo gritted his teeth and stood back up. Strategically, he slightly revealed a golden pendant around his neck as he did so. This was the medallion that all noble family members of the Huang Clan have. ¡°Honorable senior, if you want the fruit you only had to ask. All I ask for in return is that you grant me safe passage down the mountain.¡± ¡°Hmph. You think that being in the Shin family is supposed to scare me?¡± Kyo was shocked that this person did not hold the Shin family in high regards. Besides the patriarch¡¯s family that is situated in the center of Mount Huang, only the Ling family that rules over the Earth Peak and the Kang family that rules over the Ocean Peak is comparable to the Shin family in rankings. He had no idea who this expert could be. How did another person know he has the Five-Point Rebirthing fruit? Before he realizes what happened, the mysterious stranger had grabbed onto his neck and carried him towards the end of a cliff in an astonishing fast blur. His storage bag floated out from beside him and the contents spewed out. The fruit wasn¡¯t there! If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Where is it? Is it in your Dimensional Pocket?¡± The mysterious stranger said mercilessly with indifference. Kyo was surprised yet again, there should have been nobody that knows he had that skill! A Dimensional Pocket was an entry level magic skill that he learned from the supreme magician that came years ago to check him out. Upon realizing he couldn¡¯t cultivate, he gave Kyo a bunch of magic manuals for him to study since he felt sorry for him. However with Kyo¡¯s almost nonexistent spirit power, he could only use three basic non-offensive magic. Dimensional Pocket was one of it. ¡°Why does senior covert it? Obviously your cultivation is that of a Saint Champion or even Saint Lord!¡± Kyo struggled to get the words out, the fruit was useless for such experts. He was met by a stone cold stare that showed no signs of mercy filled with killing intent. Kyo had been at the ends of many kind of stares. Contempt, pity, jealously, anger, and such but never had one stared at him with the intention to kill. Mostly because he was just a cripple and wasn¡¯t worth killing. ¡°Here.¡± Kyo quickly replied, a small black tear appeared beside his hand and a giant peach-like fruit with an unworldly sweet aroma instantly seeped out. The fruit was his only hope of ever turning his life around but it is not worth dying for. The fruit itself was glistening with silver radiance and golden sparks fell from it. Even Kyo who had never advanced past the entry of Saint Rookie could feel that a miraculous and profound spiritual energy was emitted by the fruit. The stranger quickly released Kyo and grabbed the divine fruit with both hands. It was as if that fruit was his or her own child. Holding the divine fruit like it was the most important object in the world, the stranger had forgotten all about Kyo who was struggling to get up from the edge of the cliff. ¡°Finally¡¡± A soft and gentle voice escaped from the stranger¡¯s lips except this time. Kyo who almost made it back up the cliff froze when he heard that voice. He had not heard this voice for many years but he could never forget it. It was a voice no human could forget. This was the very first voice one would hear even before they emerged to the world. This was the voice belonging to his very own mother! His own mother barely talks to him after he was revealed to be worthless in the world of cultivation. He couldn¡¯t entirely blame her since he knows what type of culture the Huang clan has. Yet he couldn¡¯t believe that she would steal against her very own son! Why would she do this? Looking closer he noticed that the baggy black clothes were hiding a tiny bump at her belly. Then the horrible and heartbreaking realization sank in. A pain worse than everything he had endured for the past decade combined struck him at his very core. Her own mother, a High Priest of the clan, was sacrificing him so that her second child would not turn out to be a cripple like him. Kyo instantly let go of his hands and allowed gravity to pull him backwards. An insane laugh followed as his figure disappeared down the mountain. He knows that after his mother finishes admiring the divine fruit, he would have been silenced forever. She planned to grant the whole fruit to her next newborn so his or her foundation would be near perfect. In order to do that, no one must know that she has the divine fruit or higher powers will take it from her. No matter how tough a person is, a backstab from your own mother is impossible to defend against completely. This shocking betrayal had severed any ties Kyo has to the world and created a lifelong enmity against the Huang clan.
