《Magus Gravity》
Chapter 0
Magus Gravity - Prologue
I spun the sharpened pencil around my index finger whilst also focusing on my teacher¡¯s lectures, that I don¡¯t even need to know. It¡¯s about world history and how our country aided the creation of the world we currently have today, a crap world where everyone inhales dangerous chemicals into their lungs even after being told not to. I have already learned all this stuff from the library that everyone has access to but decides not to, as it would waste their precious ¡°socialising¡± time. However, not everyone is like that as some people are unique like that guy over there.
That guy I like to call Mr Annoying, is one of the unique people on my list that I need to be careful with. At the start of our six years in high school he did not have many friends and he was desperate to have some, so he got around the wrong group and always wanted attention in almost every class. He acted stupid when he definitely wasn¡¯t, and got excluded countless times until now. His life turned upside down, or maybe he just decided to drop the facade and do what he truly wants.
What I mean by ¡°unique¡± is people with extraordinary growth and ability to gain insight into life, is what I would say, but it is probably not to do with insight but maturity or the intelligent increase in brain power. So Mr Annoying was annoying for four years until he stopped and became the student president, joined every single club in the school that was possible and became the most envied in school by all the boys and girls. Now let¡¯s not go into how his intelligence increased over the four years, since it would be too monstrous for a high school student. We can just say somewhere in between those four years he might have found his destiny or received some sort of breakthrough in what I like to call ¡°clever gains¡±.
Clever gains is similar to role playing games in how you level up, but it is more realistic and something you can use to calculate the strengths of people in real life. It works by first checking out the current growth of the person and then slowly breaking it down into two main columns: intelligence and stupidity. You place a tally mark for everything stupid that the person makes under ¡°stupidity¡± and do the same for the ¡°intelligence¡±. By the way, this is talking about after having observed the person for a long period of time and knowing what that person thinks as stupid and smart.
For example: I needed to sharpen my pencil but I forgot my sharpener at home. In my opinion, the answer would be to just take a different pencil from your bag, but remember that not everyone shares the same opinion or circumstances. Another person, like that delinquent at the back of the class that is chewing bubble gum with a smug look on his face, would probably not even care if the pencil is blunt or not, he might not even have bought a sharpener at all.
While I was telling you about people who have different thoughts, that delinquent made eye contact with me and instantly stopped chewing and looked away. I don¡¯t really know why people do that, they kind of avoid me as if I am their worst nightmare which is probably one of the reasons I have no friends at all, but I am not unhappy. I prefer to keep my shoulders weightless and would prefer not to carry around extra luggage that would slow me down in my path to happiness, which is utter nonsense and I know it but you need to set a goal in life otherwise you are just running on the spot.

I nudged my rubber off my table and it landed next to a brown-haired-freckled-girl, she noticed it and bent down to pick it up. I turned my head to my paper and got to work, to make it seem like I am doing my work and not noticed the rubber fall down. She wiggled her head left to right before looking at the rubber in her hands, a smirk fell upon her face, the rubber was then placed into her pocket with a light tap.
This would be definitely classed under intelligence, but I have set a different tab for her: ¡°Corruption¡± and I made a tally mark next to the fifty four other ones. Corruption meaning bad behaviour of a person who has a position to be an example to others, a student should act clean and sensibly while following most of the world rules. Corruption is mostly made by people getting bribed into doing other things, but it is also made from making bad decisions over and over again. Maybe that rubber you just put into your pocket may seem like not such a big deal and something you could dismiss, but when you have fifty violations adding up to something, that is when it is a really big deal. It¡¯s like trading five bronze cards for a silver card, it''s something good and much better than what you had previously, this can be put into vice-versa to calculate how bad you are becoming. A gold card exchanged for five silver cards, exchanged for twenty-five bronze cards, it¡¯s just rubbish in the end.
She would be classed as a unique person too, and not someone I would try to contact or befriend. From the start of school to now, she must have tallied up almost five thousand of ¡°noble¡± marks, but for the past two years now all she has done is petty crime and is honestly going down the route of a criminal.
So as I think about her being a future crook, the whole room turns bright blue and everything disappears in a blinding flash. I don¡¯t really know if everything actually disappeared since it might have been an effect of what you would get after being flashbanged in the face, or when you turn your phone on at night and it¡¯s glaring at full brightness straight in your eyes. Basically I am thinking that I might have been flashed and temporarily won¡¯t see correctly and not have full visibility.
I also couldn¡¯t hear anything after that blue covered the room, and the only thing I hear right now is my little brain chirping away at getting a calculation or a hypothesis on what happened. I might have fallen asleep due to two days of sleep deprivation or I might have pressed some pressure points to paralyse my whole head, but I would be able to move my lower body and fe...I probably am moving my lower body but can¡¯t feel it since my brain is paralysed too, but then these conclusions wouldn¡¯t be able to be conjured.
I think it is time to hit the panic button right about now.
Chapter 1
Magus Gravity - Chapter 1
My eyes opened just when I was going to start collapsing due to the unknown variables that made me feel paralyzed.
Around me people that shared the same age as me, and a few other older people, were all collapsed in the same state as me. Some were wearing nightgowns and pajamas, whilst others were adorning their school uniforms or work clothes. Outside the circle of unconscious bodies, thirteen people in blue robes were in a formation around us all kneeling on their knees, some had red dribbles of blood going down from their mouths.
The floor was cold and hard with no straight gradient anywhere, making me want to stand up and stretch my limbs from going stiff and pained. However, I do not know if this is some sort of mass abduction or just something else altogether and maybe it¡¯s just a big prank, but I still won¡¯t be the first one to get up and be at the center of attention. I won¡¯t be risking myself for the sake of knowing what is going on.
Outwith the robed men, I wasn¡¯t able to see anything else apart from a hazy brown wall that seemed fake, almost like a hologram that could be passed through, maybe it¡¯s just an illusion.
¡°ugh...¡± The slightly pained voice of a male teenager startled me, as his grunt was basically straight into my ear.
Almost instantly, a robed man looked into my direction and our eyes met, but only for a slight moment. The man was old, evident from the wrinkles around his brown eyes with slight scars surrounding his forehead, he seemed bald from his shiny forehead but I couldn¡¯t actually tell because of the hood. Thankfully, I was squinting really hard so basically no one could see my eyes that were partially opened, I have tested countless times in front of a mirror in order to observe a couple of secretive people, but I didn¡¯t know it would come in handy in this situation.
¡°I know you are awake young lad, don¡¯t worry we won¡¯t harm you¡± The old man spoke right in front of me which gave me shivers, did he know I was awake? His wrinkled hand reached out and was going to grab my wrist, but it moved and grabbed the one behind me and pulled it.
The body of the teenager made contact with mine, and I could feel how scared he was by how much shaking he was doing, I¡¯m glad he didn¡¯t decide to latch onto me in order to make this harder for the man to take him.
¡°Don¡¯t be scared young boy, you are going to be a hero so you shouldn¡¯t be like that¡± The old man spoke and I coughed, a laugh almost escaped my lips.
He just said to that guy: ¡®you are going to be a hero¡¯ is he for real? Maybe everyone here are cosplayers of some sorts, and those robed old men are perverts that have got a fetish for this. Anyway, I guess I will just wait this one out.
30 Minutes Later
Twelve people got taken away, and I presumed I was the only person left from the way the four robed people surrounded me, three elderly woman were amongst the group and one guy. I had initially thought they were all men but I noticed that to my surprise almost 40% of them were female, all of them old. Is this some sort of caretaking home? Or are...nevermind, I will get nowhere with thinking about the strange fetishes of these people.
Every single person was taken away from the circle and straight through the hazy brown wall, making me slightly happy knowing that one of my guesses were correct, it¡¯s a holographic wall. So these guys must be rich or something to be able to afford something of that technology.
¡°Young man, are you awake?¡± A woman with long red hair asked, and strangely her face was not covered in wrinkles so maybe she is up-to-date with the newest face masks that allows you to preserve your skin for longer. As a joke, I should remember to ask her which product she uses so that that I could tell The Guardian(Mother) how to keep her skin smooth.
¡°Yes I am¡± I told her as I stood up, I got bored of resting on that hard cobblestone, so I started walking to the brown holographic haze on my own. I looked behind me and the robed people kept standing there, are they stupid? Aren¡¯t I their hostage?
I walked straight through the holographic wall and got blinded by a golden light, I must be waking up from my dream now.
¡°He looks dumb, I hope I didn¡¯t do that as I got out too¡± I heard a snicker being aimed at me over a lot of background noise, so I am assuming that this is definitely not a dream and nor am I going back to normal.

Reasons for not waking back to my worthless classroom, and why this isn¡¯t a dream.
- I was able to make conclusive thoughts and remember people, you wouldn¡¯t be able to do that in a dream.
- I felt pain from the cold hard floor, and clamping my teeth on my lip is not waking me up.
- I have been abducted by some strange people after my classroom was gassed by some sort of invisible smoke that makes you feel nothing at all.
I opened my eyes and lowered my arms from the ¡°accepting the golden light¡± position. I took a look at the person who made a ¡°clever accusation¡± about me; it was the guy who cowered behind my back like a drenched cat. His looks were average and his eyes were filled with sharpness and intelligence, but under that mask were a child¡¯s full-blown naivety. He must have been born just yesterday, or he had a life made from his parent¡¯s wealth.
In the large hall where cosplayers were abundant, enough to make me question my preconceived opinion of them all. Were these even cosplayers at all?
I felt four people creep up behind me and it was the old folk passing through the hologram, and then there it was as I turned to look at them taking a glimpse out of the large hole in the wall which was a window: a moon with a golden ring around it.
¡°A different world¡±
I must have stood there for quite a while as I didn¡¯t even notice a crowd forming directly behind me, until I felt a strong hand grasp my shoulder. ¡°The queen is speaking so do not show disrespect, even a hero needs to...¡± I didn¡¯t need to know anything right now, so I grabbed his hand with my own and twisted it, turning my body to face his I flicked my leg into his head that was covered by a helmet.
I must not have noticed his helmet, but I didn¡¯t feel anything right now.
I stood watching the large man slumping down unconscious, the background volume getting much softer to the point where I could start thinking properly.
¡°Apprehend that man¡± Someone shouted, making my mind grate in pain.
People started approaching me with blades but not guns? I looked out the window again to confirm if I really am in a different world¡
¡Time Passes
I sit unmoving as I focused onto the slab of brick in front of me that was a decoration in my new living quarters right now: three brick walls and a steel bar wall, one small unreachable window with bars acting as the glass, and a luxurious straw bed on the floor to rest my bruised body. I have no neighbours but the maid acts as a nice conversation maker, excluding the spit she shoots at me before leaving, she leaves food for me everyday that I never eat.
I came to this world about a week ago and I am already in prison. From the maid I heard that the ¡°Kingdom Of Humans¡± summoned thirteen heroes and that every single one did not disappoint the widowed-queen in the appraisal ceremony two days ago. I don¡¯t know why there is even a kingdom called that, but a good guess would be that there were different type of ¡°races¡± in this world.
I was incorrect when I said that only twelve people were taken by the robed men, so there must have been another person that woke up long before I did.
After committing a crime of attacking a special someone I was sent away to a prison. They must have thought I was an assassin or something along the lines of ¡°from this world¡±. I wonder how they came to the conclusion that I was not supposed to be a hero like the thirteen others.
I look at the bowl containing brown clumps of food behind the iron bars. Moving my fingers in a circular motion, makes the food start to swirl in a circular motion and when I make a palm and press it downwards, the whole thing becomes a pancake along with the poorly made bowl. This time taking a glance at the bowl of water, I make a palm and push it upwards, whereas little blobs of water start separating and start floating upwards to the ceiling.
¡°Yaeger, I told you not to play with your food!¡±
Chapter 2
Magus Gravity - Chapter 2
I stopped focusing on the water particles and eased my hand, making it drop to my side. The floating bits of water all fell down and splashed next to the bowl of water they came from, they must not have fell into the water because the building was not completely perpendicular to the Earth. This is correct if I am right in saying that I could make something float directly vertical, or maybe decrease the gravity of something to a negative value. However, in order to do something you would need some sort of knowledge beforehand, but I haven''t really studied anything to do with physics or whatever it is that is related to what I just done there.
Looking at the flat pancake behind the bars I think of a perfectly round object, but nothing really happens, until I lift my heavy arm and start making motions with my hand. I fle--
¡°Yaeger!¡± A woman stomped outside my room, her black ponytail bobbing up and down like a bobble-head toy.
She must have called out for me the first time if she is this angry, but I shouldn¡¯t be the one to blame I was just focusing on something. Not minding the intrusion as she just likes shout at me for no reason whatsoever, until it always comes back to her telling her life story and how many regrets she made in her life. I looked the maid straight into the eyes to give her a feeling of having my attention, whilst I still had the pancaked-food-and-bowl at the corner of my eye. I made a palm and slowly raised it and the pancake slowly peeled itself off the ground and floated, wherein I slowly closed my hand shut and the pancake started compressing into itself.
I believe my gestures could be simplified into a chart, to make it easier to remember:
- A palm raising into the air = making the object float upwards.
- A palm descending down = making the object go downwards.
For both, I have tried to make the object keep going in the direction even when it is colliding with something to see if it would do anything but nothing really happened and the test object only got smaller.
- Closing the palm = object tries to go into itself like a black hole, making the object a round sphere.
¡°Yaeger the Slave!¡± The maid lashed out at me with a spoon, it bonked off my head and fell to the floor.
I must have cut my eye contact with her because she looked to be fuming, she looked at the floating sphere and then me and she already knows that I need a lot of concentration to use my ¡°magic¡±, as she likes to call it. I don¡¯t really think it is ¡°magic¡± but a type of psychic power, like telekinesis where you speak to someone far away or is that pyrokinesis? I might have one of these psychic powers but right now they are not placing me in a good situation as I just got my forehead bashed by a wooden spoon.
Also, the fact that she called me ¡®the slave¡¯ shows that she is definitely angry, since she only ever calls me that when she is frustrated beyond normal. She must not have had a great day today doing her job, wherever it is she works since she only delivers my food and says ¡°better enjoy it, the horses made it¡± I know she jokes with the last part but I can¡¯t really trust anyone in this world. Also, she is a normal person in the ¡°clever gains sheet¡± where she just does mostly bad stuff with the rare good thing like giving me an extra bowl of food if I ask - I never eat it, but it allows me to develop my ¡°esper ability¡±.
¡°I am listening¡± I look at her with focus and the sphere fell and splashed against the floor creating a pile of mush. She looked happier after seeing that.
Obviously I let her have her moment of enjoyment, but I didn¡¯t really particularly care so I focused on the spoon in between my toes that I had picked up off the floor. It was made out of wood and it felt like a luxury to be able to touch something of different material, since I believe the bowls that I crushed were made out of clay or mud. I closed my palm and then opened it up again, I enjoyed doing this action as it took my mind away from the worries I had about this world.
¡°I see that now. Well, I have good news for you and bad news for me, which one do you want to hear first?¡± She asked, tilting her head in a questioning gaze that allowed me to have time to think.
The wood wasn¡¯t breaking in half and nor was it splintering into my toes because my ability took a small range in consideration, which I believe is my focus range. It was relatively small right now, but I think the saying ¡°practice makes perfect¡± applies to this: if I just keep trying to cover a large range then maybe I just could, but I don¡¯t think I will ever need to anyway. I am not trying to become some sort of magician or stage artist, it¡¯s a different world and I am from a dif...let¡¯s not mention that anymore as it just states how foreign I am to everything here.
¡°Ehh...tell me about the good news first please¡± I told her repositioning my gaze on her, I wouldn¡¯t want to make a slip up like the one previously and suffer the wrath of the young maid with countless spoons.
My head started to throb slightly which signaled that I needed to stop using my ability, but I would have kept using my psychic ability if it weren¡¯t for that painful night two nights ago. On that day, I had a big smile on my face at thinking my ability was getting better because pain obviously meant change and when training is involved, change means something good doesn¡¯t it? Well not with my training: I was making some of the straws on my bed float independently and I had separate control of around five straws, but it seems like multi-tasking does not go well with my ability since my head felt like it had shattered and the straws all fell down, I lost all my control and my mind hurt like hell for around six hours.

¡°You have been purchased by a guard from the kingdom of the elves, and from what I heard he isn¡¯t a bad person as it seems he needs a human to make his peace with Humans seem legal in the village he is in¡± She told me in slight stutters.
A guard from an elven kingdom needs a ¡°slave¡± to show he is in peace with humans, sounds completely illegal to me. It¡¯s complete nonsense if that person is actually trying to pull this off - how is this good news? - I am basically getting placed with someone who hates the Human race to bits, that he buys a ¡°slave¡± to show how much he hates us rather than actually befriending a Human. Positively speaking, this would be a mark for him under the ¡°intelligence¡± column as he probably thinks this is a smart decision, since the people he needs to prove something with won¡¯t know that I am a slave anyway.
¡°So what is the bad news?¡± I asked, quickly taking a glance at my toes that had a deformed wooden spoon wrapped around, before looking back to see a maid-in-tears.
The wooden spoon must have wrapped around my toes because of the compression and uncompression I was doing, where strangely anything that is affected by my ability but comes into contact with my skin, nothing actually happens since the object-affected kinda slides right off my body which makes it seem like a self-protective ability. However, this is not the case since I have tried to harm myself and it actually worked relatively easily, where I experienced a huge papercut like pain down my cheek. The maid even thought I was thinking of suicide and killing myself after seeing my face, she payed extra attention to not have anything sharp in my vicinity after that.
¡°I won¡¯t be able to tell my...stress and pain to anyone. You were the only one Yaeger Oakley that I could trust and tell everything to! I felt a connection between me and you that I have not felt with anyone else, it made my living-nightmare slightly bearable¡± She cried out to me, grasping the iron bars between us and pressing her teary face to it.
I have not really said anything to this woman after coming here, I have only been here for six days and it wouldn¡¯t be enough for me to make such a dramatic image of me on someone, so it would only leave two possibilities open for me:
- She is telling the truth, which means she hasn¡¯t really spoken of her troubles to anyone else apart from me. Could also mean that she thinks of me as some sort of ¡°soul-fated¡± buddy, or that could just be me spouting nonsense I heard at school.
- She is just trying to get an expression out of me and make me feel guilty for leaving her, it could mean that she is just a manipulator and a really good actor.
I think that option two would be the best one to take as it would mean that my ¡°clever gains¡± actually had some sort of meaning for being used on her, which resulted in me finding out she is a bad girl who does bad stuff mostly. It would also explain her mood swings as this option would tell me if she really has a screw loose or not, but who would go through the trouble to confirm all that?
I bent down and unwrapped the wood from around my toe and tossed it to her, the eyes of the maid twitched at that. I stood up and walked over to my corner to where my straw bed was, I looked at her in the eyes and told her something that I should have told her ages ago.
¡°You shouldn¡¯t have taken the job in the first place, and also stop relying on people that are in prison to make your life better. It¡¯s a little bit weird, but I see where you are coming from: a person in prison is probably already breaking down from the stress, so there would be no better feeling than to watch that person crack open from your own vile words. Is that it?¡± I asked her, lowering myself down to lay on the floor.
Saliva struck my cheek and she kicked the cell door before leaving with a slam, I looked at the saliva at the corner of my eye and gestured my hand away from my chest, making it fly off me and splash against the wall opposite me. Today was a good day where I learned some new stuff about my ability and found out all my guesses about the maid were correct, but there was still one thing that bothered me.
If this world had some sort of summoning device that allowed people to be transported to this world, then where does the fairness in all this come in? My world goes into a war but it cannot summon any people to influence the war, so why does this world get special privileges and is it only this world and not any others?
Chapter 3
Magus Gravity - Chapter 3
The saliva dribbled down the wall and I could not see it anymore as the winds blew out the torches and darkness enveloped me once again in it¡¯s painfully cold embrace.
I brought my left leg closer and cradled the swollen ankle, the bone is fractured or shattered into different parts, I did kick that armoured person in the helmet. The swollen ankle must be split into a couple of parts, it was easy to tell by the small creases in-between various sections of the ankle that looked like the roots of a tree, so I am fairly certain my bone is shattered. I raised myself and placed the ankle on the floor before pressing down really hard with my hands, similar to how people do if their ligaments are dislocated and they don¡¯t have any medical help within reach.
I don¡¯t know if it¡¯s helping since the pain has started to increase from painful to slightly unbearable, but I did not scream. Screaming from pain only reveals weakness, which I am an expert in hiding. I started hearing light but audible cracks, but I kept forcing my hand down on the ankle in order to force it to its original shape. The purple swollen ankle turned crimson and white shards were sticking out of my foot, the bones must have been disfigured and when I forced my arm down they ripped my skin from inside-out. I stopped attempting to fix my ankle, I probably made it worse.
I stood up using my left foot, placing more pressure on the lump of blood that drizzled onto my straw. I focused on the blood and moved my hand upwards and the small particles of blood started ripping off the cobblestone and floated up. I relaxed my stance and let the pressure off my foot, to stand and stare at the beautiful sight in front of me.
Perfect spheres of dark crimson continued to make their ascent towards the ceiling, like raindrops falling upwards. An oxymoron I would never have used in my life back on Earth, but I used it here.
It is strange to think I would express beauty more than I ever have in my whole life right now - maybe getting transported to this world isn¡¯t so bad afterall. However, I will never feel like I am truly at home and will always stay a foreign object trying to survive in this prison.
My forehead throbbed and my ankle was making me experience sharp pains in regular intervals, but I continued nevertheless to watch as more and more red raindrops made their way up. I forced them to float at my chest height, not letting them reach the ceiling and maybe disappear within the slight cracks. The unreachable window lets in rays of moonlight to illuminate the center of the room, which I am grateful for.
The small spheres become one big one when I crush my hand, I touch it and it runs away from me to bounce on the walls of my home. I try to catch it but my ankle doesn¡¯t move and I trip to fall face flat on the floor crushing my knee into the corner of my table - a single slab of stone. I lose focus of the sphere and I become drenched in red blood. The crimson ball must have been close to me if it fell straight onto my head.
I lay cold and shivering in pain, and closed my eyes for a long time.
How are the other foreigners doing in this world? Maybe they are spending their days training to become ¡°heroes¡± in this world, they do have the widowed-queen¡¯s protection do they not? Hope they are enjoying their new life as much as I am; from gaining a supernatural ability to finding out I am able to express myself in different ways, that would be near impossible to do in the old world.
...Time Passes
I open my eyes to gaze upon a couple of people standing behind my bars. The only familiar face I saw was the maid¡¯s and she didn¡¯t look happy to see me and infact she looked slightly surprised as her eyelashes twitched noticeably, and after she knew that I was staring at her, her face cringed and she dropped her eyes to the floor. I would also probably look away from the person that could read me like a book, but I have fortunately not met anyone who could.
¡°What happened here?¡± A chubby teenager voiced out his thoughts. There was an insignia on his jacket to show what noble house he came from, his was a jester holding up a shield.
I didn¡¯t particularly care about any of these ¡°houses¡± since if I did then I would most likely become a corrupted person, as most literature books back on Earth included a story about a nobleman bribing someone to assassinate a person that held power, in order to increase that nobleman¡¯s status. It wasn¡¯t exactly the nicest place to be born in from what I could tell. Then you have the class that is said to be trash and is at the bottom of the food chain, the peasants. When people say that a peasant is total garbage I could only agree, since they are the ones that do the least work and have a nice life, if they are lucky.
Anyway, the chubby-cheeked teen looked at the old man standing on his right, who ¡°coincidentally¡± held the same insignia on his jacket along with everyone else in the room apart from the people who looked like servants, I take a glance at the maid. The old man was going to start saying something but I sort-of interrupted him by standing up, so he is probably a sensitive old fellow.
As I stand feeling the gaze of the people around me and the wind today which was colder than usual, the dried blood on my face was starting to flake off so I rubbed it to speed the process. The look that people gave me as I started to do that wasn¡¯t particularly nice, so I looked at them and introduced myself.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
¡°Hello strangers, I am Yeager Oakley and the occupant of this cell¡± I said in a comical tone as I gestured with my arms to welcome my guests.
My ankle was snapping so I rested more of my weight on the other leg. I took a glance at my ankle and saw pure white skin with shards of white sticking out, which I knew to be my bones. I have never really seen my own bones apart from an xray scan, as I liked to be more careful and not get injured to not worry any of my parents, but now they are gone so it doesn¡¯t matter anymore. The bone looked sharp and I wanted to bend over and touch it to feel the texture, but there was people watching and I don¡¯t really know any of them and how they react to certain types of behaviour.
¡°Funny thing to call your owners, slave¡± A guy with a scruffy beard remarked with a creepy grin.
There was not really any point to this conversation other than let the people observe their ¡°slave¡± that they had mistaken as me, since I am just here to serve some prison time for the crime that I committed. Oh, the maid was also not informed about me not being a slave but a prisoner, since she said that I am being sold off to a guard. I would love to see who runs this jail/company, that they mistake about something like this. Looking around my cell I noticed that were a couple of additions: a spider started occupying the corner above my straw bed and there was already cobwebs set in place, blood was smeared along the walls and my table had a patch of blood on the corner. Some of my straw was also missing but I could see that it was dangling from the ceiling, I must have been doing a lot of playing around yesterday with my ability.
Seeing that I didn¡¯t respond in anyway at all, the old man opened his mouth to speak but I interrupted him again by sitting down on my table, he didn¡¯t look angry so I continued to do as I wanted.
The bone felt really fragile but durable and sharp, but everytime I touch it or feel it pain just explodes like a floodgate being released. Dizziness started to overwhelm me as I moved my head in a circular motion to balance myself out. To not leave the guests bored I spoke to them:
¡°I didn¡¯t know that prisoners had owners, I thought they just spend some time here and then leave without their shackles¡± I said without giving them any eye contact at all, since they seemed like lenient fellows from the way that they walked in.
Obviously, I wasn¡¯t fully awake when they came but I heard a couple of footsteps stop and then proceed again, then it was repeated a couple of times. This was probably that old man needing to catch his breathe after a couple of steps as he did seem like a slow guy. I spare a quick glance at the old man and our eyes met, I could tell straightaway that this person was not slow at all and he probably masked the fact that he was extremely healthy.
There is a saying that the ¡®eyes reveal what the heart conceals¡¯ and from what I saw in the old man¡¯s eyes were opposite of what his body said; weak and frail. His eyes revealed that he was healthier that most of the people here right now, and also filled with more wisdom which comes naturally if you are an old person who most likely has seen a lot of things in life. I am not surprised to see an older person in better shape than the younger ones, since those robed guys who summoned me also showed me the same eyes as this guy.
¡°Yes they do that Yaeger Oakley, unless someone decides to make a slight change¡± The old man opened his mouth and spoke for the first time, his voice with clarity and smoothness. He turned to look at the people around him and told them I am qualified for the ¡°exchange¡±, but I would need to be treated and bathed.
I looked at my hands and saw infestation growing in them, scars would begin to form if not for the infection. During my second day here, I was placed against the wall by Big-person and forced to grate my hands off them as a sign to show that these people are serious and should I fall out of line and do something bad then things much worse would happen to me. I didn¡¯t fear them or become scared to death, but I was thankful knowing that prisons in this world were doing their job properly unlike the ones in Earth.
There was scabs on my hands that I would have ripped off if not for the pain from my ankle and knee, I placed my infected hand on my split-open knee and gave it a little pat. The people standing gave a sour but kept on looking at me do my thing, I inspected my knee and noticed blood flowing down under a scab. I willed it to move upwards without using any gestures, and it shakily starting moving but fell down since I lost concentration as my head clashed against something. The requirements to use my ¡°psychic¡± power must have been changed since I wasn¡¯t using any gestures, and that might have made using the ¡°psychic¡± much easier, but it feels better knowing I soon won¡¯t need to lift a finger in order to activate my power if I keep practicing like this.
¡°You are a mage as well?¡± The old man asked, not me in particular but the whole room.
Chapter 4
Magus Gravity - Chapter 4
After nodding my head to the old man¡¯s question - are you a mage? I was brought out my cell and taken throughout the prison, a better word to describe the place would be mansion since after walking out of the room that held my cell, I saw a place that held nothing in relation to a prison.
¡°We need to get you up to shape and bathed, which we can do at once¡± The old man said as he continued to walk with me.
I could slightly feel warmth and softness with every step I took but the pain neglected most of my senses - that feeling of a carpet I had almost forgotten because of the time I spent in the cell, which was relatively short but sleepless nights made the duration seem extended. I tried to walk normally but I couldn¡¯t so I had to limp on my bad leg and rest for a while before striding with the good leg, the old man did not seem to mind and just smiled at me. I probably made the walk ¡°easier¡± for his facade too.
After some time, I was guided into a big room with a desk at the back and a chair behind it, which the old man took as his and sat upon it, whilst I stood in the middle of the room and everyone observed me within a semi-circle. No shackles were placed around my hands, as they probably thought I am not strong enough to do anything in the state I am right now. Coincidentally, I had also found a new use for my power; lessen the burden of walking on my leg. I just needed to concentrate in seeing my body raise upwards and I instantly felt lighter, obviously I used my hands to lessen the burden since I really wouldn¡¯t want to faint in front of all these serious looking people - with an exception of an old fellow.
The people started talking to each other in a different language and sometimes took a glance at me, however the old person did not converse with anyone and just kept his eyes latched onto me as if I was some sort of prize that he has won. The maid did not follow us into the room and wandered off to do something else, like her duties as a maid maybe?
¡°Why was I made a slave?¡± I had to ask the men, who became silent at my question.
Standing up from his chair, he approached me and placed his walking stick on my shoulder. ¡°I would like to know how you managed to anger the queen to the extent she made you a slave, and become assigned to this place of all others¡± The old man questioned me instead, and a mountain fell atop the shoulder that his staff had rested on, making me sink down to the ground and kneel before him.
He was wearing elegant shoes made from animal skin resembling a crocodiles but much darker, the skin was probably scorched and burnt to result in that colour before it was made into a shoe. It made me realise that I haven¡¯t wore shoes in what felt like a month. The feeling of having something sturdy and durable wrapped around your feet was something not in my reach right now, but it will be soon. The staff that dug into my shoulder and brought me down to rest onto my knees was pitch black in colour and under the old man''s hand was a golden hilt which was definitely made out of pure gold since this world is obviously not that intelligent to begin counterfeiting the material, which probably didn¡¯t even need to be faked as this world probably had abundance of it situated underground and not excavated.
¡°Look at me!¡± The old man roared as he whipped his hand into my face, that I dodged my jolting my neck to the side.
...Time Passes
The carriage shook and swayed from side-to-side and my newly formed skin reduced the impact of every bump in the road. Before being placed into the carriage, I was half-beaten to death by an old person before being miraculously healed and cleaned by the same person. He had used magic to do it; he chanted a sentence before his body glowed bright and a white bubble floated out from his body and enveloped me in it. The chant had probably something to do with lessening the burden of the power requirement to use the magic, similar to how I need to use my hands to lessen the requirement. I remember all of what he had said before his magic appeared:
¡®Bless this child of the saviour, and reduce his pain and suffering so that he could continue the legacy of man. His blood contains a part of the creator himself within, so I order the spirits of Octavius to come and cleanse the man before me so that he could live another day.¡¯
I have not tried out the chant to see if I could create the same magic as him, which I really doubt I could because the magic that he used is probably unique and only he could use it. There is a lot of reasons to think this way, but the most simple one would be that I have not seen anyone else use that magic before and nor have I came across anyone else apart from myself and him that is capable of using magic. Huh? Now that I think about it, I might have seen magic being used after I was summoned. Yes! That brown wall that looked holographic must have definitely been a use of magic.
¡°Get away from me or I will skin you!¡± A muscular man grunted as he pushed my face away relatively easily.
¡°What are you talking about? Weren¡¯t you ordered to look after me?¡± I asked coming back from my stupor.
¡°Yeah! But if you keep on leaning onto me and placing your head on my shoulder then I will kill you.¡± The man stated in anger as he tensed his arms and revealed the muscles through the tight shirt.
¡°I didn¡¯t mean to do that¡± I told him before silently distracting myself in the corner of the carriage away from the man.
...Time Passes Once Again
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.The carriage made an abrupt stop and I fell off my seat, but thankfully the man was there so I grabbed onto his shirt and ripped it...by accident, I didn¡¯t want to fall and make a laughing stock of myself, but I still fell with a ripped parchment of fabric in my grasp. The man stood and looked down at me before swinging his leg into my ribs and sounding off a bone-cracking sound. I laughed it off as I thought the man was just joking by kicking me, but then his arm swung down onto my shoulder and dislocated it instantly.
His arm bulged as he grabbed onto my neck and heaved me off the floor before throwing me out the carriage, bits of wood pierced my frail skin as the door shattered.
¡°What are you doing?¡± I heard the carriage driver shout frantically.
Big-Person jumped from the carriage, making it rock backwards from the release of a large mass, and ran towards me with his bare chest revealed to the world. I heard a blade being pulled from its sheath and Big-Person stopped running. His neck dripped blood as a blade slightly punctured the skin, a guard stood in front of me, his blue cloak fluttering in the wind and his armour glinting from the rays of sun that landed on him. Long blue hair flew out from within his armour and long ears popped out, his stature looked thin and fragile but the armour that he carried seemed extremely heavy so he must have had built up a lean definition for himself.
¡°I believe that the agreement was that the slave not to be harmed¡± His feminine voice spoke out in a demanding tone which was clear and articulate, contrasting greatly from Big-Person¡¯s brutish and unintelligent voice.
¡°He tore my shirt off so he needs to pay the price!¡± He grunted at the guard, but his eyes drooped downwards after his met mine.
¡°Then take the extra gold as compensation along with my pay for the slave.¡± The guard took his blade from Big-Person¡¯s neck and threw a pouch of gold at him.
The big guy looked at the pouch before turning around and walking off, but not before coming back and remembering to give him a letter of some sorts. I felt my ribs with my index and thumb fingers, feeling the cracks in four ribs, I wanted to make it better but decided against it as my previous ¡°healing¡± did not go well on my ankle, but that was to be expected when one tries to use a technique for placing dislocated joints back in place on a fractured bone and not a dislocated one. Speaking of dislocations¡
I placed my hand around my dislocated arm and then tilted my body to smack my arm against the floor, but I was stopped as a blade smacked the top of my head. ¡°What are you trying to do?¡± He asked me, looking down at me from above. His face was above average and the timing of the sun couldn¡¯t be any better, the outlines of his long ears and hair were made darker from the sun in the background making his looks appear perfect. However, there is a stupid saying that annoys me: ¡®nothing is perfect¡¯ so then for what reason do people aim to improve their skills if they are never going to be the best/perfect?
¡°You are a weird one aren¡¯t you?¡± He asked me, losing interest in knowing what I was trying to do.
His chiseled cheekbones and eyelashes complemented the fair and smooth looking skin on his face, without a blemish.
¡°Stop staring at me like that unless you want a broken nose!¡± He shouted at me before grabbing my dislocated arm and started pulling me towards a random place.
His legs were not any different from his face, as they both looked extremely healthy and nimble to movement, from the way the leg joints complied almost instantly without delay in accordance to his head movement. Now that I had the chance, I noticed that I was on the outskirts of a village and that this was probably the place where my slave transaction would take place, which it already had. I had expected that my ¡°master¡± - is that what a slave calls their owners? - was going to be some guy-pig who wanted to torture me in a cell until I am rescued by a hero. I laugh and startle the guard, as he turns to look at me questioningly. Wasn¡¯t I supposed to become a hero? It¡¯s funny that a hero would try to depend on another hero in hopes of being saved, since you would never expect a hero to need to be saved. They are ¡°perfect¡± when placed against evil, since they always come out on top.
I was pulled into a small-cabin surrounded by trees in a forest away from the village, then I had my hands tied by rough-rope with big sharp threads coming out, something you would tie a horse with but I am being tied by it. Does he expect me to turn into a horse, but I don¡¯t have that sort of magic sorry ¡°master¡±. I was placed up against the wall while the guard sat on the chair in front of me, after taking off his armour to reveal his normal-looking clothes, he looked expectantly at me with wanderlust filled eyes. I cannot become a horse¡
¡°Tell me your name, how you ended up in a slave market, the experience you had there and how long you were there for. Also tell me your age and battle experience, or if you are able to use magic.¡± He said as he adjusted himself on the chair.
¡°My name is Yaeger Oakley, I ended up in the slave market after sexually harassing an old man. I was then sexually harassed by the same old man for a week before being driven to this place that I am in right now. I am 16 years old and have limitless combat experience in fighting rats on the farm back home. I know magic that allows me to make things float and turn into small pebbles.¡± I lied through my teeth, but he didn¡¯t know that.
But he did...a single kick sent me unconscious as he shouted ¡°liar¡±.
Chapter 5
Magus Gravity - Chapter 5
I must have a power that attracts people in doing physical harm to me, but not that it completely matters as the world would still continue to spin even if I am not pestered by random strangers in a different world.
Opening my eyes to see that I am inside a white box that is changing ever so slightly and decaying into a more realistic colour, resembling a corridor that stretched out towards infinity. ¡°Mr and Mrs Oakley¡± A woman appears in front of me, and I am now sitting on a bench within a lobby of ill people. My shoulder is grabbed and I am forced to stand up as my mother tells me to get ready. ¡°Get ready for what?¡± I ask her as we follow the woman into a room.
¡°We shall see.¡± She replies and everything goes black for a minute before I am back in the same lobby, only by myself this time.
The sound of high heels approaching make me jump as I had figured I would be alone for a long time. I look up from the squeaky clean marble floor and see my mother approaching with disheveled hair and ruined makeup around her red eyes. The same woman from before was standing behind mother with a stern face as she watched us.
¡°What did the doctor say?¡± I prompted.
I remember now. I was tested and examined by a doctor who then told me to go back to the lobby so he could give the results of the examination to my mother, who has now come back with the news but not that it would matter as it wouldn¡¯t change anything.
¡°Please, let me sit down first.¡± My mother told me as she walked past me without making eye contact.
I took a seat opposite her and waited until she decides to tell me everything. A tear dripped down her face before she made eye contact with me, but that just seemed to make her cry even more. Silently watching as my mother sobbed to herself, I saw a brochure that could pass my time on a seat next to mine, but before I could reach out and take it my hands were snatched up by mother¡¯s strong grip.
¡°I know that anything I say right now won¡¯t make any affect on you, but you have to know your sickness and how god has punished you.¡± My mother stated, her grip became tighter locking in my hands.
Her blue eyes darted about unsure of where to look, my eyes seem to not be an accommodating place. A tooth snuck outside her lips and clenched down on the squishy fat, the lipstick surrounding that area is ruined but she doesn¡¯t pay it any heed. Her muscles slightly jolted backwards as she braced for something.
¡°According to the doctor, your emotions are extremely dampened to the point where...you are not even able to...¡± She said as tears fell down and landed on my knee, the ragged prisoner cloth soaked up barely any of it.
This is a dream.
My eyes open wide a second time and I am greeted to the real world. The dream was not one created by my imagination, but one created by my memories. There truly was a time that I visited a doctor and all I got in result were half-truths, since there is no way that the emotions I felt when I found out that this world is different were by no means ¡°dampened¡± at all. They might have been enhanced instead.
The eyes begun to adjust to the different lights and atmosphere to reveal my naked torso covered in weird red tattoos, I shake my head and see the colour of my hair which tells me that I have not been placed into the shoes of a different person. I attempt to touch the tattoos but I could not as the rope restricted my movement and a spiky thread jabbed into my wrist instead, I felt blood drip down my hand.
¡°Oh! You still have that thing around your hands, I apologise.¡± A man said with a feminine voice, his long blue hair swayed in accordance with his movement and brushed lightly against my face as he bent down and freed my hands. The smell that he gave off was fragrant.
As soon as I felt one of my hands become free, his neck is instantly seized and I wrestle him to the floor. However, try as I might but I could not harm him in anyway even when I tried to smash his head off the ground since I just couldn¡¯t find the strength to do anything. This was the chance I have been waiting for and now when it¡¯s in my reach I fail to deliver.
His body, the chest and his clothes. They are beginning to rupture as I try to destroy this person in front of me using my psychic power, but just as the first sound of rupturing resounded the room, our positions were reversed and he held me in a submission lock. Luck was probably on my side at the start of the tussle, since my good arm was freed first but now...luck is gone and he has my arm placed in a position that with just only a twist would make that arm unusable for a while.
¡°I did not even sense your touch! What are you?¡± He asked me in a voice that held excitement, but shook his head in resignation instead.
He already knew that I wouldn¡¯t give him an answer and he is slowly getting familiar with my personality, this is not good at all. I answered him to make me seem unreadable and make him flustered on how to describe my tendencies and traits. Even though by answering him I will be revealing a part of myself and giving it away, my only priority in this world is to survive but I do not believe I could do that if I keep angering people by not telling them what they want to hear.
¡°I am a human and also a mage.¡± I grunted through the submission hold.
My answer appeared adequate as he eased the tension entirely, almost like he had decided to give up placing strength behind his actions. Foolish mistake by the man himself if he thought that I would just lay on the ground and keep letting him sit on my back like that, although he is really light and it feels like there is only a feather on my back. I go to flick my leg into his back making him fall forward and headbutt me, the action made me strain my chest and I could feel my ribs grate against each other due to the pressure.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
¡°You really are a surprise aren¡¯t you!¡± He shouted into my ear and then swiftly got off me and stood a meter away from me.
He then said something in a different language and the tattoos on my chest started glowing before burning my skin lightly, then ceasing instantly. However, I couldn¡¯t move a muscle after that had happened. I just watched the man in front of me who no doubt was responsible for this, I attempted to speak but couldn¡¯t.
He pranced around lightly around the room with a smile on his face, looking like a child after being praised from the parents, then quickly disappeared into a different room and began whistling in a mediocre tune. I could hear his steps lightly approaching, but couldn¡¯t do anything about it. I willed the whole house to rupture into itself and all that happened was it created a small rumbling sound and I got an instant nosebleed.
He came back with a letter in his hands and didn¡¯t even look at me at all as he proceeded to read out the letter aloud.
¡°This slave here blah blah placed in prison for actions against royal blood. His name is Yaeger Oakley and is a boy of sixteen years of age, proven by the Flura orb that was used a day after he had been received by Viscount Helminar. In the care and supervision of the Maid Bella, he was given food twice a day but never took a single bite, only mumbling a few indescribable words that are followed by acts of insanity, the boy was going to be placed in an institution after his sentence of forty years was going to be over but instead was turned into a slave by orders of the Viscount Helminar himself. Furthermore...¡± He had stopped reading aloud and I could see his eyes slowly tracing the letter, fully comprehending every single part of it.
He stopped reading and let his hand fall as he turned to look straight into my eyes, not diverting them in anyway. His watery eyes appeared to say something, but they are washed over as he declares using his mouth and gallantly striking a pose of stubbornness and forcefulness.
¡°Yaegar Starbow is your new name given to you by me your master, Tyrena Starbow. In this letter you seem to have went through unimaginable pain in your life, but I promise as long as I am here you won¡¯t need to worry about a thing. Even though it is also stated that you have no will of your own, you still managed to fight against me. I expect the best from you, since you now belong to me physically and spiritually so you will need to do the best you can.¡± He points to his chest, indicating me about the tattoo that is on my chest that supposedly makes it official that I belong to him. He continues speaking after inhaling a breath.
¡°You will also need to be showered, dressed, prepared for the dungeon, trained to the point that I can bring you to my hometown. However, do not mistake me as a male adorning person, I am just excited to have my first familiar and also a Human slave.¡± He giggles before walking out the room after making hand gestures, granting me free movement.
Freeing my last hand that was stuck in the tied rope, I sprint after him and attack him with...I topple to the ground unmoving as he continues to giggle maniacally and comments about my inability to do anything.
¡°You would need the blessings of a hero to save you from this predicament Yaeger Starbow. Since only those monsters would be able to get out the slave-bind and free themselves, speaking of heroes!¡± He starts to prance around me with a smile on his face.
The guard that saved me from Big-Person is another complete facade just like every intelligent being.
¡°They are going to attempt the dungeon that I am currently doing in around a year''s time. Out of 400+ stages I am only on the 20th one so I wonder how fast they will proceed, but surely...¡± He looks at me in expectation and his grin gets even larger.
¡°Yes! They say that with a group, dungeons are much easier to conquer. I have been only doing them by myself, but with you I am sure to reach stage 30!¡± He beams at me.
I struggle to make even a jitter of a movement under the ¡°slave-bind¡± that keeps freezing me in place, like I feel like I am moving but then the next moment it seems like I am in the same position I was previously. In an infinite loop of being placed back in the same spot and forced to not move at all. Then it all shatters like glass and I am free again.
Knowing that attacking him doesn¡¯t work, I only lower my head and follow his demands: ¡°shower, clothes then food¡± He skips into a room, and I follow obediently after him.
Note: I know that sometimes the chapters are not up to standards and the quality largely depends on my mood, which I have discovered. However, know that I will keep writing chapters for this story since every chapter I post, I tell myself that I am improving. I don''t think it would surprise you if I told you that I have only made edits to small typos in all the chapters and never really proofread since I can''t really see a way to improve them at all after reading the chapters again. Hopefully I will be able to make improvements to my writing skills quicker. Also, I do acknowledge every comment that all of you make, but sometimes the things that are recommended are completely out of my reach if there is no guideline on how to "improve" or make the fiction much better.
Chapter 6
Magus Gravity - Chapter 6
The person sleeping in the bed next to mine groggily wakes and starts wandering around the room, searching through drawers and taking stuff out. A yawn escapes his mouth and I feel something light plop on top of my bed sheets, making the particular area colder than the rest. It felt like getting a breath of fresh air for my body, after being exposed to extreme temperatures in a hot bath.
¡°Get up Yaeger, it¡¯s time to show me the worth or uselessness that you have¡± He said with a voice that contrasted the voice that released yawns.
I open my eyes and sit up with difficulty, the ribs creaked harder than ever before, even when I ate yesterday they weren¡¯t in this critical condition. At the foot of my bed I saw a simple shirt that was made with the purpose of not hindering the wearer¡¯s movement and the same applied to the shorts that were underneath, a set of clothes perfect for extracurricular classes in school. The clothes were something to worship with the tattered robes I had right now.
I left the bed and quickly undressed and-
¡°You seem to have zero requirements for privacy. Good. At least I won¡¯t need to drill that into you when we are in a dungeon.¡± Tyrena commented, making me stop and listen in my birthday suit.
I gave a shrug to his unneeded praise and continued to dress. I have never had problems with seperate or the same gender seeing my sexuality, it didn¡¯t make me embarrassed or insecure since the thought of people speaking badly about anything wrong with me did not worry me at all, they have their own opinions and thoughts. I had no way of changing them without creating a hassle for myself. Not that it even mattered in the first place.
¡°Put these on and wait for me at the front of the house, near the large tree stump with an axe through it¡± Tyrena¡¯s commanding voice penetrated my ears and my chest started warming up, the tattoo light up slightly and I followed his instructions perfectly.
The thing he wanted me to put on were shoes created in the same purpose as the other pieces of clothing, to help the wearer in physical exertion and not hinder them in the process. I left the instant the second shoe was on my foot, only looking back at Tyrena who was rummaging through a worn out backpack. I flowed through the house and out to the tree stump in an efficiency close to as if I had already taken the same path for ages.
I took a seat on the stump and waited.
He came out with two wooden swords, a waterskin and a lump of a green moss. He had an exhausted look on his face, clearly whatever he had done must have taken the stamina out of hi-
¡°Sorry to have kept you waiting, I took a bit longer to find the andora moss.¡± He says as he goes to stand in front of me, holding out that green moss towards me with his hand.
I direct a puzzled look in his direction but he just starts smiling at me, what does he want me to do with it? I reach out and grab the moss that almost slipped out of my hand as it was like wet ice with almost nonexistent friction. Firmly grasping the moss, not letting it fly out of my hands, I look at it in hopes of finding out the purpose of this thing.
I give up.
¡°What do I do with this?¡±
¡°You don¡¯t know?¡± He flashed a prideful grin at me.
¡°No¡± I answered.
He took a step forward and took the moss out of my hands without any difficulty, and pushed it into my mouth. ¡°You eat it¡± He exclaimed creepily as he forcibly made me munch on that tasteless green-shit.
As parts of the moss made its way down my throat I started feeling a pounding pressure around my chest and arm in irregular intervals, but it didn¡¯t hurt at all and instead felt more like a painkiller to the pain that I already was feeling constantly. Surely, I felt the pressure raise to the point that when I pressed my hand to my chest it felt like something was trying to pierce it from the other side, it made me curious as to what is going on but Tyrena spoiled all of that.
¡°That is part of the ¡®Andorian Flower Blossom¡¯ found in Andorian¡¯s dungeon fifteenth, thirtieth and sixtieth stages. There is three parts of the flower and the moss is the easiest to obtain out of the three, since you can find it at a lowest level. It¡¯s a rare tier flower that quickly restores injuries if consumed, but it disintegrates after two months if not used or placed back in the dungeon¡± He told me with a tone of a teacher.
My arm clicked into place by itself and I instantly knew that this is the effect of that moss he was speaking about, it¡¯s something that could definitely save massive amounts of money that would be used for surgery and medical treatment back on my world. My ribs also creaked a little and then a sharp crunching noise exploded, which surprised Tyrena greatly as he instinctively backed up a little, but then there was no pain at all.
¡°Wow! Usually it would take around an hour to take effect but this...it¡¯s extraordinary!¡± Tyrena exclaimed when I stood up from the tree stump.
He then handed me a wooden sword and walked away from me, stopped and took a weird stance with his own sword. I grabbed the wooden sword by the hilt, it was heavy so I needed to tense my whole arm to swing it around properly.
I am guessing that this is what he meant when he woke me up - to see if I am useless or useful with a sword. I was about to imitate the stance that Tyrena was making but decided against it as I had zero experience whatsoever, and I had no clue if that stance meant defence or offense.
¡°Do your best lil¡¯ Yagi¡± He said to me using a nickname, to try and get an expression from me.
He can call me whatever he wants, it won¡¯t change the fact that I will probably get my ass whooped. Since in all honesty, I will definitely lose, although right now I am feeling very good with strength I didn¡¯t know I had coursed throughout my whole body. The tattoos under my shirt and on my arm became visible and shined a faint red.
I stood straight as a rod, my wooden sword pointing towards the ground as I held it with one hand. Tyrena raises an eyebrow, then disappears from my vision. Impossible.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
My feet couldn¡¯t find the floor anymore and I fall on my back with a wooden sword stroking my neck gently. Tyrena¡¯s shadow loomed over me, blocking the warm rays from the rising sun. I didn¡¯t even know what happened, one second he was there and the next...he was looking down at me.
¡°This is pretty disappointing, and I didn¡¯t even give a command to not let you use magic. But you still lost in one strike.¡± He looked down at me with a warm smile contrasting his words.
¡°For disappointing me, give me fifty slashes and lounges. It¡¯s a command.¡±
I got up, the tattoos still shining faintly and I stood on the spot without doing anything. Tyrena makes a puzzled face because of this, his ¡°command¡± didn¡¯t work on me. It seems I am gaining power like tho-
¡°A slash is this¡± He demonstrates by swinging his sword down, his legs were apart from each other giving balance to her swings. ¡°A lounge is this¡± He then demonstrates a lounge by going into a fencing stance - bouncing forward with his legs and stretching out his sword arm away from his chest.
My body immediately replicates what he had done for the slashes, placing my feet apart and swinging my sword down.
- On the 10th swing my arms starting shaking slightly
- On the 20th swing my arms started to burn
- On the 30th swing my arms felt dead
- On the 40th swing I couldn¡¯t feel anything from my arms
- On the 50th swing I felt it was natural to swing this sword downwards
Without even a second of rest, my body switches to a perfect replication of the ¡°lounge¡± stance Tyrena had made, and started bouncing forwards and stabbing my sword outwards. In order to perfectly comply with his request of 50 lounges.
The sword fell out my hand and my arms dangled at my side after finishing the assignment. I looked into his eyes and found excitement and joy, I could only cringe my face at knowing that I have a sadistic master. He naturally saw all that since he hasn¡¯t taken my eyes of my for a moment when I was following his orders.
¡°Owning a slave really does shine a light into a boring life¡± He said straight to my face with a grin.
He bent over to the floor and picked up the sword, and threw it towards me with malice. ¡°A sword is your life, so cherish it¡± He didn¡¯t command it but I caught it with the final strength in my arm. I clenched it hard in my grasp not letting it fall to the floor.
The only thing I cherish is my life, so this sword will let me do that will it? I might as well place m-
¡°Follow me for a run around the forest. No magic allowed.¡± He said sternly as he dashed off really fast into the waking woods.
The tattoos flashed brighter than ever and I instantly started to follow, the sword stayed in my hand.
The way he traversed the woods was exceptional when compared to my lousy steps, I crunched the sticks and made a lot of noise but he didn¡¯t make a peep. Tyrena has probably taken this route every day so a path was naturally made, but I still somehow made noise even when I tried not to.
He is better than me in almost everything I had seen him do, it¡¯s obviously a trait for being born in this world. However, give me a speed test of knowledge and a library to find my answers in, then I could show him what I could do but that is definitely unlikely to happen. There wouldn¡¯t really be a point in doing so either.
Suddenly, a blur flew out from a bush that we just passed, and I didn¡¯t even have time to react to it as it clobbered the side of my body. Luckily Tyrena seemed to have reacted and caught me in time, otherwise I would have been impaled by a random tree branch that didn¡¯t seem healthy.
The reason for that was revealed when Tyrena slashed at it and green blood spewed out from the slash, his sword glowed brightly and started to extend by a couple of meters and turned into a longsword. Even the wood seemed thicker and stronger.
¡°Time for our first opponent!¡± He exclaimed in an excited growl as he pushed me to the side and took a wide stance against the massive blob that stood in our path.
It¡¯s a big green blob that must have smacked against my body just then.
¡°It¡¯s a forest roping. I¡¯ll distract it and you aim for the small black lump on its back.¡± He stated and fended off the first attack by the roping, it extended an arm like tentacle and tried to grab Tyrena but he slashed it apart and liquid fell onto the floor.
Meanwhile I maneuvered around the side, making it lose sight of me and in-turn focus more on Tyrena.
I silenced my movement and crouched down at the side of the tree, just a little bit away from the roping¡¯s side waiting for the right moment.
From the four times that the roping had attacked Tyrena I could tell that the thing had a slight cooldown before launching its next attack. Whenever it attacked, the thing had to wait for its tentacle to come back before launching it back again - it could also only launch one of those at a time which makes it even easier.
Tyrena just fended off a side swipe that was aimed for his legs extremely easy, he jumped up and then stabbed his sword down. Impaling the things tentacle into the gro- This is my chance!
The roping needs to retrieve that tentacle but it is stuck in order to attack again so the thing is completely defenseless currently. Easy pickings.
I kicked off the floor and reached the thing, swinging the sword towards that black lump on its back - the weakness of the roping I presume. However, I didn¡¯t expect it to morph it¡¯s body and surround me in its blob, trying to swallow me whole.
But then...the thing exploded entirely and I witness my master¡¯s strength in an entire different view. He stood drenched in the center of that green jelly.
A power to protect his slave. Me.

Magus Gravity - Chapter 7.5
¡°Let¡¯s continue running, Yagi!¡± He said before running off into the distance.
I looked at my clothes that have been soaked in goo, before running after him.
Thinking back to it, the [Forest Roping] was taken down easily by master, but there must be a reason for that.
Creating a diversion for me to attack, I had aimed for the supposed ¡°weak spot¡± of the monster.
However, did he really create a diversion for me to attack or was I the real diversion? Yes, it must be the reason the monster died so easily.
If that is correct, then the real weakness of these [Forest Ropings] are when they are unleashing their ultimate attack - when the slime tries to swallow something whole - and the trigger to that attack is when the false weakness is endangered. Therefore, that lump on its back is actually a lethal spot if it makes the monster attack with all its might.
Problem is, I was not fast enough in getting a strike on it.
¡°Yagi, what are you thinking about?¡± Tyrena asks me out of curiosity, as I must have been making strange facial expressions for him to ask me that.
Thankfully it wasn¡¯t a command, so I didn¡¯t answer him and continued running alongside.
He did not say anything, but I noticed that the bags under his eyes were much clearer than before. They seem to be disappearing, if that is even possible.
¡°There is a [Roping Hill] up ahead, so become vigilant in order not to be impaled.¡± He said.
Currently, using a pathway as traversed as this, there is a low chance of that happening - around 12.5%. My master cannot come to my aid fast enough for one not to impale me, it is evident after the first battle with one of those [Roping] monsters. Therefore, it¡¯s a 50% chance if I stick with him, as either of us could be targeted. However, including the chance that I could repel them with my sword, the chance of me dying is halved once more; master can also repel one if he reacts fast enough. So there isn¡¯t a massive chance of me being impaled.
This is correct if I assume that the [Roping Hill] is a place where those monsters settle down and rest, similar to a gang territory. Then the chance of me being impaled becomes almost 100%, because I had only taken into consideration that only one [Roping] would attack us at a time when I had guessed the chance being 12.5%.

My sword arm tensed up, and the wooden sword became raised and at the ready of any sudden attack.
We proceeded onwards as the trees became more dense and compact, creating weird shadows with their branches.
It became darker in this part of the forest, and I believe we entered the [Roping] territory, or [Roping Hill] as the inhabitants of this world call it.
I take a glance at the carefree Tyrena, noting his facial expression and posture. He seems very confident; a crazed smile on his face and his chest puffed out. His wooden sword which didn¡¯t resemble the one he had taken in when beginning our jog, which was now surrounded in a green hue and the sword itself looked like it was made out of iron and not wood because of the smooth surface, and sharp looking edges.
He came to a stop all of a sudden and I replicated, lunging with my blade towards a bush that had slightly parted. A blob flew out and became stuck on the end of my sword, before it was ripped out of my hands and the wooden blade was lost to the bush.
¡°Good reaction, but you have to finish the movement to actually do something.¡± He spoke nonchalantly as the same blob flew out again, aiming towards my chest.
Before it could reach my destination, it was slashed apart into ribbons by Tyrena.
Why¡
To just slash that blob apart like it was nothing, then what was the point in that exchange back there? Back then he seemed to be holding him back with a little bit of difficulty, and he needed me to be a diversion so that he could slash at the weakness.
That must be it, he was holding back. Then he must have done that to allow me to gain at least some fighting experience, but he could have just¡
No, I might be killed if I was told to go alone and become stronger from fighting these things. So that¡¯s why he came along with me.
And there he goes. Tyrena flies into the shrub, disintegrating it into the similar fashion as to what had happened to the blob. However, a lot of noise was created in the process, so maybe a lot of these things will pop up and try to attack now.
