 prologue the crash

    my name is Grim and i am a marine well some might call me a child soldier but i dont care. i have been called many thing in my life now i am unfazed by it. the reason for my profession is because i was abandoned by my step father after my mother died. after about a year the government picked me up from juvy after learning about some of my gifts first of i am a super genius my IQ tests show my IQ is 213 and able to memorize anything i see or hear within seconds.


    my intelligence wasn''t what caught the governments eye it was my ability i could eat anything and learn new abilities from it the object didn''t have to be living or non living but there are conditions to it. for living organisms i have to eat it at least twelve hours after its death. for the second condition for non living things to be able to give me abilities it cant be a natural element it needs to be changed some how like ore i cant eat it if its just ore however if there is something effecting it i can gain abilities from it.


    there is a bonus to my ability if i have a connection to the item or person i eat i gain even more abilities.after a few years in a lab being tested on i was finally let out as a new weapon for them to play with.


    i didnt care what happened to me as long as i was out of that damn lab i mean come on it smelled like the dentists 24/7 and if that wasn''t bad enough i had to help them with the tests they couldnt even catalog data right.


    my new team is better each of us has our own area rex a medic and pilot, alex commander of the unit skilled in hand to hand combat also complete jackass to me, finally jack a african that specializes as our specialist you name it he''s got it no joke i even had to buy a extra clip from him he absolutely loves money however when push comes to shove he would never leave a comrade behind but might make them pay after he saves you.


    our mission was to eliminate a group called python and return to base. we cleared through the encampment clearing out each and every soldier we seen it took us about five minutes to clear out the camp when we got picked up it was by a cargo plane which made the others a little pissy.


    i was cleaning my gun and my knifes while the other three was playing poker once i was done i packed my gear and went to the cockpit the pilot was flying steady listening to radioactive by imagine dragons. without him noticing i grabbed the instruction guide to fly a plane i flipped through it memorizing everything so i could fly a plane in the future suddenly the plane started to shake i sat the book down and took a look outside the right side was on fire while the left wing was well we didnt have a left wing i quickly jumped into the passenger seat and started to help the pilot.

    jack and rex both grabbed alex and pulled him into the cargo hold then closed the door it was a long twenty minutes until the other wing finally blew and we were even again.


    now that we are even we can control it a little better but we need to get those fires out before we explode so i need you to go back and use the fire extinguisher you get the rest i know its crazy but it will have to be done.(pilot)


    i nodded and went into the cargo bay then grabbed the extinguisher alex was yelling at me but i just ignored him i reached the door and took a few seconds to prepare myself i quickly opened the door and stepped out onto the rest of the wing. we were in a storm and it was raining cats and dogs i could barely keep my footing with the wind and the rain once i got to a good distance i started to put out the fire once it was done i was heading back when i started to see a blue light in front of us.


    i turned to see a giant vortex of lighting in front of us and it was approaching fast at this speed we weren''t going to make it i quickly ran on the slippery wing and jumped in the open door rex shut the door behind me and looked at me i grabbed the nearest bar and yelled.

    alex, rex, and jack  all scrambled to grab something but they weren''t fast enough the plane started to shake uncontrollably each one started hitting things beside them the next thing i know is alex''s shoes were coming at me one more crash and then lights out with extreme pain on my face.

 chapter 1 too overpowering

    when i finally woke up the plane was a mess trash everywhere alex, jack, and rex where piled together i slowly got up while my whole body hurt mainly my face first i checked if the group was still alive then went to the pilot which wasn''t so lucky he had a metal rod sticking out of his throat must be from one of the turbines from the engine i closed the pilots eyes.


    after i did i looked out the almost shattered window and saw a marvelous sight we were in a jungle the sky was already night with three moons in the sky ya this is definitely not earth or in its galaxy i heard some banging in the back so i decided to check it out when i got in the back all three were sitting down again smoking cigarette i walked over to them and put each cigarette out then handed them back.


    you should save those since until we get back home this is what we got oh and we are on another planet.(me)

    suddenly there was a bang on the hatch i quickly turned pulling my gun out alex got up and pushed it down saying it was only the wind. after saying this he went over to the hatch and opened it only to be stabbed through by a rusted sword.


    in front of us was a green colored man with a pig face i quickly opened fire blasting the creatures head off alex fell to the ground dead it looked like the other two was in shock i walked over to the hatch and closed it suddenly a blue box popped up.

    both nodded and i took a seat between the two thinking jack grabbed the cigarette that i put out and lit it rex soon joined him both were staring at me.

    we all gave a small smirk now that they are out of that we can get down to business i started to stack the gear jack and rex soon pitched in i was putting the last box on one of the stacks when we heard yelling from outside it sounded like a girls voice yelling

    we didnt hear anything else except for that yell i quickly went to the loud speaker and told her to throw down any weapons she might have once she has pound on the hatch in front of her i heard a thud and a small bang on the hatch i pressed the button and the hatch opened i slowly backed away from the hatch.


    once it was half way down i saw a girl with black hair and dark blue eyes wearing grey clothes her shirt was a tank top and her pants were like sweat pants but tight to her legs both looked like they were made from wool. when i got a better look i saw her bleeding from the shoulder and pointed ears.


    okay this is getting ridiculous i know elves from books and movies but still why is a real one standing in front of me, once the hatch was open she ran inside to the corner wall i saw rustling in the bushes when some little green creatures came out they looked like a stronger version of golem from lord of the rings one armed with a sword and shield the other had a mace the one with the shield pointed its sword at me saying.


    give the elf to use and there wont be any problems.(green creature1)

    i was about to tell them to fuck off when five more came out of the bushes i looked at rex and jack then smiled both nodded at me all three of us raised our guns before the shouting started i made the girl cover her ears once i knew she was okay we started firing they had no chance against us our gun shots echoed through the plane we continued to fire while i approached the button to close the hatch while it was still closing i laid down cover fire the more we killed them the more came i fired my last bullet at one of the creatures that was trying to climb up instead of killing it i shot it in the shoulder and knocked it out i used the spare chain to tie him to a chair for later i reloaded my clip and walked over to girl.


    she looked at me with her deep blue eyes i pulled my knife out and handed it to her she looked confused so i had to spell it out for her.


    i am giving you my knife for when you truly need it now that those things arent bothering us you should explain some things first what were those things and where are we?(me)


    those were goblins from the southern-lands we or in the country of bain ruled by the elf king and humans are not allowed here.(elf girl)


    so what we dont want to be here any more than you do now there are a few problems we need to solve when we were about to crash something surrounded our plane and we ended up here. if i am not mistaken this is not earth.(me)


    so one of you must be the hero the king tried to summon a hero last night but nothing happened except for something falling from the sky in this forest so which of you is the chosen one?(elf girl)


    i held up my hand then walked over to jack and rex i filled them in on what happened both of them looked at each other.

    i nodded and put my hand on one of the piles of gear i hoped this would work and said inventory the boxes started to glow and disappeared suddenly i got another notification.

    i got up and walked over to jack and rex and informed them on what i was about to do they got the picture and took the girl to the other end of the plane where they put on some music while getting ready to play cards they made the elf girl sit there not letting her look my way. i went back over to my new friend and started again.

    i grabbed the nearby knife and stabbed his knee he was about to scream when i covered his mouth. i let go and continued to interrogate him. at first he didnt speak but soon he changed his mind after losing some fingernails.

    the war chief ordered it he wanted the elf princess as his bride we attacked the elf village because she was there for the elders meeting to discuss what to do about the missing hero.(goblin friend)

    i patted the goblin on the shoulder and walked over to the loud speaker.


    hey i know you are trying to get in so instead of wasting time how about a deal of sorts i have a goblin in here that wants to challenge your boss. if he wins you have to follow him but if your boss wins we will surrender. the girl stood up and walked over to me.

    the goblins agreed and i walked over to the goblin we had and cut him loose i opened the hatch just enough for one of them to come in i saw a buff goblin with white hair climb in i closed the hatch behind him so no one outside could see what''s happening.


    i walked over to my goblin friend and gave him a single shot pistol i told him to aim at where he wants to hit and pull the trigger.


    so you think you can kill me with that little toy that the humans gave you how pathetic.(goblin boss)


    the goblin boss started to chant and fire started to appear around him our goblin friend aimed and shot his boss without hesitation right in the chest he fell to his knees bleeding out.


    i opened the hatch and the goblins all saw our goblin friend finish off their boss. i then got another blue screen.

    i have one more thing to do before we go i grabbed the pilot from the cockpit and alex then walked out. i used the shovel that was in the plane to make two graves for them once that was done i broke of some twigs and tied them together to make crosses. it wasnt pretty but it will have to do.


    both rex and jack nodded in agreement once everyone was out of the plane i put that in my storage as well we might be able to fix it later and who knows it could be really useful later.


    the girl started leading us the direction she came from when we got through the clearing we saw a blue transparent bubble around the remains of a village outside of it were some bodies of both elves and goblins the girl made a hole in the barrier with her hand and we entered the elves that were outside were gathering around us with hate in their eyes.


    ya i dont think they like us being here.(rex)

    a group of old elves came up to us with angry expressions on their face aiming at the girl.


    what were these humans doing here dont you think we have enough problems to deal with the goblins left but they will be back plus the loud bangs we heard earlier it might be a new weapon they have to deal with our barrier. (angry grandpa elf 1)

    the prick elf snapped his fingers and one of the guard elves that was watching pointed his spear at us and charged jack was in no mood right now and fired his 44 revolver hitting both of the elves knees leaving giant holes in them the elf screamed in pain i walked over to him and pulled one of the pain serum from my inventory and stabbed it into his shoulder he slowly quieted down some of the other elves slowly approached and i backed away to give them space they took him away and i looked at the old elf.


    what i gave him was some pain relief it should last about fifteen minutes i am guessing you have healing magic so it wont be a issue but i have to worn you today isnt a good day to fuck with us now i am also guessing that there isnt a way back to our home is there.(me)


    the girl looked away from me and i sighed.


    okay now that we are stuck here might as well make the best of it my unit are pro''s at what we do but we dont do it for free we can settle that later on there are two things i need you to do first you need to teach the other two how to speak your language and second we need to meet the person that summoned us to this place.(me)


    the palace is only two days away if we follow the road i can take you there and teach your companions our language on the way.(elf girl)

    the girl slowly got in and we buckled our seat belts the girl watched us and did the same i started the jeep and floored it picking up dust behind us the girl still didnt understand what the jeep was but felt conferrable.

    its a jeep our kind of carriage oh so you know where we come from the concept of magic is non-existent so we had to find another way to advance as a race which turned out to be science if she was wondering humans were the only intelligent life on earth.(me)


    i dont get it how can something like this be made by humans you are a weak species with short lives.(elf girl)


    is that truly a weakness we have short lives but thanks to that we use everyday to the fullest the first of our kind used sticks and stones then we became more advanced over centuries of fighting each other sure we had a lot of wars in our history but each time we grew as a whole other than terrorists that just wanted chaos we had a good thing going for us of course there were problems peace is a fragile thing after all.

    everyone nodded and we continued down the road half way to the city we were stopped by bandits.


    hey boss they look strange even for humans.(bandit 1)


    ya they do but look at their companion she will be fun to play with and when we get bored she will fetch a pretty penny at action.(bandit 2)

    okay since they are getting on my nervs i will deal with them personally.(me)


    wait you shouldn''t be so rash even if you are the hero you cant take three people on with just a knife.(elf girl)


    jack put his hand on the girls shoulder then said.


    relax grim isn''t some kid with super powers i have seen him first hand in combat and well in all my years of being a soldier he is the scariest and if he does  get in trouble he can still use his gun however he hates using guns he says they aren''t reliable that''s why he uses blades.(jack)


    but still those bandits are strong they use magic and enchanted weapons to win battles not even the royal guards could take them on.(elf girl)


    i gave a quick deep breath and started counting 1,2,3,4,5 the first charged at me and i slit his throat while continuing. 6,7,8,9, 10 i stopped counting and charged at the remaining four they charged at me like the first but attacked in unison  i cut shallow wounds on them to restrict their movements i caught the look the girl was giving she thought i was going to lose.


    i smiled at the thought and continued my fight dodging and cutting five minutes later the bandits were unable to move from all of the cuts i inflicted onto them i sighed with disappointment and started to pick up their weapons.

    guards came running finally and saw the scene they pointed their spears at me.

    i looked at him and smirked then turned back to the guards they gave us a go ahead to enter the city so we did everyone stared at us either in hate or in surprise we made it to the castle and the girl got us in only to see even more guards inside a silver haired elf was sitting on the throne while a young girl with coiled horns was kneeling below him her blue hair was to her waist while her emerald eyes shined in the light fear filled her eyes as tears fell guards held spears to her when we approached i saw a collar on her above her white dress.


    so what should i do with a disgusting creature such as yourself the demon lords child here in  city what a disturbing thought.(elf king)


    why are you people doing this first those slavers caught me and now that i am away from them you are saying you are going to kill me no wonder why father hates you people so much.(demon girl)


    father i have returned with the hero he is a strange one but strong can this wait until later he wants to speak with you.(elf girl)


    the elf king sighed and gave his answer.


    no this cant wait but i will let the hero decide what her punishment is so where is he?(elf king)

    the king looked surprised at this but soon gathered himself to answer.


    she is the daughter of the demon king a vile evil creature that has plagued this land for years but just recently has started to move his forces in mass none of us are strong enough to take him on so i summoned someone that is capable of doing so but didn''t expect to have a human hero.(elf king)


    i looked at the girl for a few moments then made my choice.

    my name is May everson the daughter of the elf king. i was sent to the elders village to discuss the summoning but things changed when goblins attacked while i ran for my life i found a strange metal object in the forest when i yelled for help i heard a voice from it telling me to put down any weapon i had and hit the metal once i did it opened to see a human boy holding some weird device behind him were two others but older he signaled for me to enter so i did.


    once i did the goblins appeared the human boy started to talk in goblin he turned to his comrades and they nodded then he indicated with his hands to cover my ears i didnt know why but i did the next thing i knew large bangs went off and the goblins started to get killed one at a time i couldnt believe it i didnt know what kind of magic they were using but it was powerful who where they?


    the metal door closed after the boy captured a goblin we talked a little bit then he talked to his comrades in a language that was foreign to me. i walked up to them and started to listen in to see if i could understand something the boy decided to translate for us to each other after a while i found out he was actually the hero that father summoned but he was too powerful i''m not just talking about his stats he also had skills that i never seen before in my hundred years living the goblin he captured woke up he told his comrades something and took me to the other end of the room and started to play some strange music which actually didnt sound that bad but what i heard was that humans were not skilled in music so what is this?


    i could hear the goblin screaming a little bit but after that the boy went to the door and started talking in goblin he tried to make a deal with them but i knew it was for nothing goblins would never keep a deal with a human and i am sure he wouldnt keep his end of the promise either so what is he planning. he let the goblin chief in and let the goblin that he captured use one of his weird magic weapons the goblin chief was about to use a fire spell when there was another bang the goblin chief fell to his knees then the other goblin finished him off the boy took the weapons back and the goblins left.


    after the boy made some graves for his comrades we left for the village when we entered i felt hostility the elders came up and i got lectured about bringing humans here i understood  we problems with them in the past but still this boy was the hero the elder made one of the guards attack the humans but the big one used one of the magic weapons and hit the guards legs without hesitation.


    i didnt know humans could be this scary the boy went over to the guard and injected him with something the guard soon looked like the pain had stopped and the boy warned us not to do that again also gave stipulations on him helping us of course i agreed i didnt want him as a enemy at least not yet.


    when i grabbed his hand i could tell he tensed up compared to my hand his was actually bigger when we got to the road they stayed put the boy pulled some kind of metal wagon out of his inventory spell they climbed in it like it was nothing but i still didnt trust it the boy asked me if i was going to walk the rest of the way or not? well it does seem faster than walking but still i dont know. i made up my mind and got in the seat was leather with padding in it the boy turned the key and we started down the road this thing was even faster than a horse.

    we stopped and got out near the city the boy said he would like it if this was kept a secret and i cant blame him for that after walking about half way the bandit clan that has been attacking people lately blocked our way. they were talking about how they would sell me into slavery after they had their way with me ya i would rather die rather than get touched by those men. the boy seemed agitated for some reason and decided to take the bandits on by himself.


    i tried to stop him but instead one of his comrades stopped me from proceeding i couldnt understand what he was saying but it sounded like he was warning me not to interfere. i didnt get it even his comrades were scared of him why is he so feared  but trusted i have met many humans in my day but never someone like him the boy no grim he is like a beast in a humans body.


    within seconds he killed the bandits advance he kept dodging and attacking at the same time but not the vitals he was giving shallow cuts to their limbs i soon found out why he sliced them so many times the bandits were unable to move but grim looked disappointed for some reason like he was expecting more.


    the guards came and tried to arrest grim i felt his killing intent and tried to keep things from getting worse i explained that he was a hero and wanted to get safe passage the guards agreed and we entered the city leaving the guards with the bandits. when we entered the city i could feel the hate coming from the people most races look down upon humans because they are so weak and greedy but in this situation its best to not anger them.


    i gained access to the palace only to see my father judging a demon i heard rumors that there were slavers in the city that was selling one but she looked like the demon lords daughter and father proved me right before things got out of hand i introduced grim to my father he was surprised at first then told grim that he would decide the demons fate i cant believe my father he is testing him i just hope grim passes the test.

 chapter 4 choices and consiquences

    i cant believe i have to make a choice on how someone is punished wait why is she  looking at me like that like she would rather die then live. i sigh then tell them my choice.

    the girl blushed and walked off rex and jack was looking at me at their beds smiling at each other.

    i stared to hear footsteps near me so i pretended to be asleep i heard the girl yelp but was interrupted by someone then heard them leave i quickly followed i knew he was a idiot but didnt believe he was at this level i followed rex to the courtyard he held a knife to mai''s throat as he led her before he could do anything i interrupted him.

    i cracked my neck and approached rex he let go of mai she started to cough when she finally got her breath back she watched us. approach each other both of us were monsters of our own right this battle will decide which of us is the real monster we pulled our knifes and charged at each other our blades collided each time while we used our other hands to defend and attack each other i caught the king and may watching from the side we locked our blades again and he pulled out another knife i jumped back dodging his strike the edge of it cut my shirt before i could get clear he attacked rapidly as i dodged each attack he backed me up into a corner he attacked with both knife''s i stopped one with my knife and the other one i stopped with my bare hand i headbutted him.


    he let go of the knife that was in my hand and backed away from me once he recovered he started to attack but it was too late it was already over i blocked his attack and smacked him with my injured hand the knife that was in my hand dug deep  into his neck he put his hand on my shoulder and i watched as the light in his eyes disappeared.


    i slowly laid him down and pulled my blade out of his neck i stared up at the sky sun was blocked out by dark clouds as rain started to fall rain mixed with tears fell to the ground everyone stared at me jack walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder with tears in his eyes as well.
