《Spirit》 Chen Tians Life Chen Tian''s Life When Chen Tian was born, he was born with a weak body, but when life closes one door a window opens. Chen Tian was an only child from a very wealthy family, but his mother died in childbirth and his father did not care about his child. Always traveling and never home. As Chen Tian got older his body got weaker, but thanks to being born with superior intellect and a photographic memory, he could use this to his advantage. Chen Tian was happy as long as he could train in different martial art and the way of the sword. He trained to try and strengthen his already weak body and keep his body as fit as possible, but Chen Tian started to enjoy it and soon couldn''t live without his martial art. Using his memory and intellect he only needed to watch any movement with the sword or martial techniques once to understand and preform them. Everyone around Chen Tian praised him as a genius with the sword and his martial way, to bad his body was to weak to continue shocking the world, others thought. When Chen Tian turned 14 his feet had stopped working and Chen Tian was confined to a wheelchair, and almost never left his own house. Ever since then, Chen Tian immersed himself in books of history, math and everything that was interesting or not. He did this for no real reason, but could not do much else, then stay at home and read. Chen Tian Using his familys wealth hired tutors and instructors adept in everything from history, science, language, strategy such as chess, go and others. But more than anything Chen Tian loved to train with his sword and martial art, even in a wheelchair he could loose himself in training for hours and hours. When Chen Tian turned 17 he decided to build his own dojo in his house. He decided to part unto others with weak bodies his own martial arts, which he had devolped from all the martial arts he had studied and made his own he named them the flowing arts. He trained the young, old, women and men, but they all needed a weak body he refused to part on his knowledge to the strong. When he was 21 he accepted a challenge from another martial artist who was renowned as one of the best in the world. Chen Tian used his flowing arts and defeated the martial artist in a few fluid movements and recived praise and acknowledgement from the martial world for his flowing arts. One night after the defeat by Chen Tian the martial artist decided he wanted revenge. The martial artist could not take the embarrassment anymore. So he decided to bring a gun. He went to the flowing arts dojo and asked Chen Tian for a rematch and Chen Tian obliged. The outcome was the same as the time before, as the martial artist was lying on the ground he pulled out his gun and shot Chen Tian in the head. As Chen Tian closed his eyes and fell to the ground he could hear screams then suddenly it was silence and he felt a warm sensation around his body, a voice saying "no no no this is all wrong its to early. " Chen Tian opened his eyes and was in a bright lit room but could not see anything, he opened his mouth to speak but before he could say anything the voice came back in a slightly hectic tone. " This is your own fault, we are never wrong, you did this, it is not your time, this is all wrong, all wrong. " Chen Tian asked the voice "whos fault? whats wrong? " The voice answered "all wrong. Its your fault, now you must be judged, yes yes judged, i will send you away to be judged, yes yes yes. " In the next minut Chen Tian was standing before a big black desk and a voice could be heard. "Next to be judged? " Chen Tian answered "me i guess, but i dont know why. " Name? Age? Sex? Chen Tian answered "my name is Chen Tian and im 21 years old, male. " "Hmmmm you shouldnt be here, not yet anyway the voice said. " "Yes the other hectic stressed out voice already told me" Chen Tian replied. "Hmmm lets see the last moments of your life" the voice said. Just like a movie the fight and the death of Chen Tian was played before his very own eyes. "Yes like the book said you should have been shot in the shoulder and survived, but you decided to tilt your head at the last second, Why?" The voice asked. "The child behind me would have been hit if it went through my shoulder so i decided to save him" Chen Tian answered. "Yes, well then you shall now be judged. " "Since you thought you saved a child by rolling in front of the bullet hahaha and you was not supposed to die yet, you never hurt anyone and gave back even in the situation you had been placed in, I will give you two different choices to choose your own path, one you can go to one of our paradise planes and live as a king never want for anything or you can decide to start a new journey, be reincarnated and tackle life once more. " "Reincarnated? " Chen Tian asked "Yes your soul decides which world and plane to reincarnate you. What is your choice? " "What do you mean? " Chen Tian asked "Your soul are made of choices throughout your life. Lets say all you did was study science, math and technology after that you started to work in that field and nothing else, then your soul would choose a math, science and technological world ." "So if I studied math, science and tchnology, but i was immersed in martial arts and even created my own martial art. you could even say i lived for martial Art its a pretty safe bet that i would end up in a martial world?" "Yes that is accurate" the voice answered. I think i would like to be reincarnated Chen Tian decided "Good good you have now been judged" the voice said. Suddenly everything around Chen Tian became black and he could not feel or see anything around him., Then a warm soothing feeling surounded Chen Tian it got closer and closer, he felt safe envolped in the warm feeling and closed his eyes. Chen Tian fell asleep. A new Name, the beginning Chen Tian opened his eyes and saw that he was being held by a man, the man was wearing a red chang pao with purple trims he was big and muscular with black long hair green eyes and a big beard. After being held by this man Chen Tian understood that this person was his father and Chen Tian was in his new world. Chen Tian looked around the room and saw On top of the bed was a woman who was in her late 20¡¯s. Her exhausted and pale face was drenched in sweat but her appearance was still beautiful. The women had long auburn hair and icey blue eyes, jadelike white skin and red lips. The woman looked up with a tired expression at the man by her side and smiled, "My dear allow me to see my baby." Chen Tians father frowned looked over the child once more. ¡°Did not expect, his body to be so ordinary.¡± Yi chu said, then he softly carried the child over in his arms Well ordinary is better then weak Chen Tian thought, wait i still have my memories that means ive retained everthing from my past life. Yi Yun held onto her child tenderly and gave him a kiss on the forehead and spoke happily "even if he is ordinary he is our child and we need to give him a name since he is a boy i will name him Jin Azeriel. " Jin Azeriel i thought, hmm a good name, yes i am Jin Azeriel. Yi Chu picked up his child went out of the room, outside the room, a group of 20 people, ranging from young to old, were lined up. The elders of the group in front looked at the child being carried by Yi Chu. The rest of the men all gathered around Yi Chu to inspect the child. The child looked healty with jadelike white skin and piercing green eyes that seemed he understood everything around him. When Yi chu said he was born with an ordinary body you could see the group tried their best to look happy and smile by the news, but you could feel the dark and depressed atmosphere. Even their eyes looking at Jin was filled with pity. Jin could see the pity in their eyes and the eyes of his father. Suddenly one of the elders said "he can still become a mage even if he cant become a warrior." it was Jins grandfather who spoke. Yi Guo looked just like his son only older with white long hair and a big white beard and green eyes. "It has been 300 years since last our clan had a mage" another elder blurted out, "that is true" the group said shaking there heads. "Well we just have to wait and see we wont know untill Jin turns five if he has any affinity for magic and he cant start to train before he is ten." Jins father said. The group of elders and family returned to their own rooms and houses and Jin was carried to his room to sleep. While Jin was put in his crib he thought so this isnt only a martial land, but a magic land to. Ill need to investigate tomorrow im feeling tired now i need to sleep. During the next few months Jin slept most of the time only to wake a couple hours a day, but he managed to get some information. To start with was his Yi clan, the Yi clan was a branch of the imperial family the Yiu Clan. The Yi clan was a clan of warriors that served the imperial Yiu clan, the Yi clan mostly served as guards, soldiers and officers in the imperial army and even strategists. Of course Jin''s father Yi Chu was the bodyguard and instructor for the imperial prince Yiu Gen. Yiu Gen was twelve years old and a second rank warrior. He looked arrogant and proud he had a round face a thin nose black hair and brown eyes. If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Not evryone could start their path as a warrior when you reached the age of ten. you would know if you could train as a warrior or mage at age five, then you could choose your path and start with the preparation for which path you had choosen. As a warrior you would start out as a first rank warrior and progress up to ¨C ninth rank warrior the same with mages first rank mage- ninth rank mage. After you reached the peak of rank 9 as a warrior or mage the next step would be earth king for warriors and earth sage for mages. After peak 9 earth king or sage the nxt step would be heavenly king and heavenly sage each with nine levels. As a warrior you would summon the elements in your body to make you stronger depending on the element you could use it as a defense like armor or even summon it around ur weapon. As a mage you would use the elements outside your body to cast spells. The four basic Elements are Wind, Earth, Water and Fire. And two special elements darkness and light. Five months have passed since Jin was born and he would now crawl all over the mansion. The last month was spent in the library going trough some books mostly on elements and magic but also on the geoghraphy of the land Jin was now living in. Jin found out he was living in the Sun empire of the Sky continent, next to the Sun empire was the moon and star forrest which was the elf kingdom. The mountain valleys which belonged to the dwarves and the desolate lands belonged to the demon kingdoms but they had not been seen for thousands of years. The next four years Jin spendt in the Yi clans library learning about the culture, history of the continent an other races especially the languages of the elf, dwarves and demons. After four years Jin could speak the dwarves language and the basic of elven but had problems with the demonic language, but they had not been around for thousand of years so he didnt mind it that much. Jin had grown he was now just around one meter in height a little shorter then other children his age. Jin looked more like his mother with beautiful auburn hair to his shoulders white healty skin and a pair of piercing green eyes. And because of his ordinary body without any muscles he looked a little femine. Soon it was the date set for the elemental affinity test for warrior and mages to decide which path they should tread on. Jins father was now the bodyguard and instructor for the second prince Yiu Sei who just turned five and would travel with him to the elemental affinity test so that left Jins mother Yi Jun to travel with Jin. Jins mother walked up to Jin and told him "just because your father dos not take you with him for the elemental affinity test does not mean he dont love you," Jun looked Jin in the eyes to see if he understood and continued to say "but his responsibilty to the imperial family as the instructor and guard for the second prince wont allow him to take you. " Jun told him this while giving Jin a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Jin did not really care that much about his faher. From the time he was born the only ones that talked to him and cared was his mother and parternal grandfather, one of the elders of the clan that hoped Jin would become a mage. Elemental affinity test Elemental affinity test The morning of the elemental affinity test, Jin woke up early, he was nervous about the test and what result he would recive. Jin was afraid he would dissapoint his mother and grandfather, the reason was he was born with an ordinary body and the Yi clan had not produced a mage in the last three hundred years. Jin walked in the dining hall to eat breakfast and was met by is mothers warm smile and caring eyes looking right at him, Jin could feel his mothers care and smiled back, he jumped up on the chair next to his mother and started with his breakfast. After awhile his mother looked at Jin and and said, "Jin even if you cant become a mage mother will always love you and wont treat you any different so you dont have to worry about today." Jin nodded his head, he felt all off his fears vanish. Jin jumped in his mothers arms gave her a big hug while trying to hold his tears back. Jin who never felt a mothers love truly felt grateful at this moment. Just when he left his mothers embrace his grandfather walked in telling them it was time to leave. Jin, his mother and grandfather all sat in a carriage on their way to the imperial emerald city. They arrived outside the holy church where Jin would undergo his elemental affinity test, just as they arrived Jin saw his father with the second prince and felt a sudden twinge in his heart, he never had this felling before but soon understood he was jealous, jealous of the second prince taking his father. Even if Jin was more mature then others he never had a father or mother in his previous life. His mother had died giving birth and his father was never around so he never knew what he had been missing. His mothers love and care showed him the feelings he had longed for without knowing he longed for them, and now knew what he had been mising, the feeling of love and care, and the feeling of no longer being alone. Jin wanted that from his father too. Yi Chu was not around, not because he did not want to, but because of the imperiel family and the second prince. Jin was jealous and hated them for taking his father away, Jin did not think this way before today, but after seeing his father with another boy his age getting the love and care that was supposed to be his own, Jin could not help felling hate and a little darkness. His father had taken the second prince and not him to his elemental affinity test, Jin was getting more and more jealous. Jin and his mother and grandfather walked in the church and sat themselves down in the back. A priest, in a all white dress and robe stod at the podium with a big crystal orb on a small pillar with six identical smaller orbs on a wall conneting the smaller pillar, another nine small crystal shards around the six smaller orbs. The priest was telling the crowd they will now begin the testing of the five year old childs The priest started off with the lower families and made them go up to test their affinty next he called my name, "Yi Jin Azeriel." I walked up the podium. The priest asked me to place my hand on the crystal orb. The priest said "the orb will read your aura and one of the smaller orbs will light up your element and the nine crystal shards around the orb will test your affinty." " the yellow orb is for earth element, the green orb is for air element, the red orb for fire element, the blue orb for water element, the black orb for darkness element and the white orb for light element" the priest explained Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. Jin placed his hand on the orb, the orb started glowing and two orbs on the wall started shining, one of the orbs was green and the other yellow, then the crystal shards around the yellow orb started lighting up one, two, three, nine then the crystals around the green orb started to light up one, two, three, nine. The priest stuttered "dual aura superior affinity." "Yi Jin Azeriel has dual aura with superior infinty in both elements," The crowd was silent, the dual element was not that amazing, but the superior affinty meant that i would become a heaven sage mage at the minimum. I turned around to look at my mother and grandfather with a big smile on my face, both my mother and grandfather had tears in their eyes i jumped down and sprintet towards my mother giving her a big hug and turned around and jumped with my arms around my grandfathers neck and hugged him till he was blue. Then we heard the priest "next is Yiu Sei" and the second prince walked to the podium put his hand on the orb, then the yellow orb started shining with six of the crystal shards lighting up. The priest yelled out "Yiu Sei earth element aura with below perfect affinity," the second prince walked back to Yi Chu and did not look happy, but after a few seconds you could see a big smile on Yiu Sei¡¯s face. Jin looked up to his mother and grandfather hinting that he wanted to leave, when his grandfather pulled Jin up from the floor put him on his shoulders and walked out the church to their carriage and left. On the carriage ride home Jin was happy talking with his grandfather about how he should be training as a mage his grandfather was laughing telling Jin not to get ahead of himself as he should first lay the foundation and start preparing his body for the training five years later. When the carriage arrived infront of the Yi clan residence Jin¡¯s grandfather brought Jin to their ancestors hall which was forbidden to enter without the approvel of an elder. Jin had heard talk about their ancestor hall around the Yi clans residence and it was said they held formidable martial and cultivation techniques. Jin and his grandfather arrived in front of a massive door that split down the middle and opened outwards after Yi Guo pricked his finger and sent a drop off blood fiiled with his elemental aura on the door. They entered the hall and walked to a little space in one of the corners in the big hall. In the corner of the hall a big cabinet with thick glass doors was standing there Yi Guo brought his grandson explaining that this was where their mage ancestor had left behind his spells and cultivation technique, both for the foundation and preperation before and after Jin would start cultivating as a mage. For the next couple of days Jin would stay in his room preparing for the day he would start on his path as a mage. Jin soon learned thet in the beginning he could only meditate a couple ours a day as his meridians was not big enough to take the pressure from the elemental essence runing through his body. He then decided to widen them by putting as much pressure on his meridians as he could without them breaking. After a couple of weeks he had managed to widen his meridians enough for three hours a day, with this speed it would take him one year for him to widen his meridians enough for cultivating 24 hours a day. The emperor flowing fists ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡. One year passed, Jin who had worked the whole last year on his meridians, could now pass the elemental essence through his bodys meridians, 24 hours a day without a break. If other people heard anyone say they could do this, they would look at them wit laughter and scorn not beliving it. Generally it would take a child five years to reach this level. A child not more then 6 years old, maybe younger stood across the imperial training grounds. This child was slightly shorther then other children his age and slightly thinner. He had shoulder long auburn hair, piercing green eyes that was not hiding his maturity and intellegence, with and aura of determination surronding him. This child was Yi Jin. Jin was staring at his father training the second prince, in the imperial martial art. All imperial family members had the element of earth, this was also the best element for defense. So the imperial martial art was created to combine most of the offensive types of all martial art gathered from around the continent. There was many different martial arts for warriors and the most basic was hand to hand combat. Yi Chu was watching as his father was training the second prince in the imperial hand to hand combat techniques. As Jin was watching he was also going through the technique in his mind. After the session was over Jin was nowhere to be seen. Jin was standing on a flat field surrounded by trees in a forest going through his own flowing art hand to hand combat techniques. One minutt Jin was practicing his flowing art, then the next he was training in the imperial arts trying to meld them together. His own Flowing fist was smooth and slow, while the imperial fist was fast and fierce. Jin¡¯s flowing fist was made to attack the internal while ignoring any type of defense, the the imperial was do damage the external with fast and fierce movement. Jin wanted to make his fist damage the internal as well as the external of his enemys, not that he had enemys yet, but as a martial cultivator he knew it was only a matter of time before he would face others who decided Jin was a threat to themselves or others. Months passed as Jin was trying to meld the two fists togheter, but he was still unable to complete his new techniques. Jin thought to himself it has already been two months. My father should be teaching that brat something else by now. Why not go and learn and get my mind of this for the time being. Across the imperial training ground on top of a branch sticking out of a tree, a child stod absorbing the imperial art sword techniques. Jin was thinking why are they going over the same stance over and over. It does not look difficult at all. Over the next months you could see a child standing on top a tree branch facing the imperial training grounds absorbing all the stances of the imperial sword. one year passed while Jin spent his time between the tree branch overlooking his father training the second prince and himself training in the forrest where he had build his own training ground. Jin was now seven years old and his body had started to build some muscle, not as much as other warrior candidates his age, but he was looking more fit. He no longer looked feminine, but was still beatiful with a more healthy looking white skin his hair down to his shoulder blades. During this year i spent alot of time watching the sword stances of the imperial sword and already have some plans in mind. Luckely i finished melding the imperial and flowing fist and I came up with to different techniques, i am so awesome. Jin thought. "I will name them emperor flowing fist and emperor flowing palm." Jin started practicing his emperor flowing palm and emperor flowing fist on some trees nearby his movements was not just fast, but also smooth and fluid like a river flowing. Just as i thought they are not strong enough and much i can improve on, but they can do some damage. Luckely my emperor flowing palm is for major internal and minimal external damage, and my emperor flowing fist is just the opposite. When i have mastered them to mimic my flowing fist 100 % my fist will flow through any obstacle and land on its intented target. Jin thought feeling the pride swell inside him. This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. After Jin was finished practicing his new emperor flowing fist and emperor flowing palm. Jin decided to start his training with the newly accuired imperial sword techniques. Jin realised with the stick he had been practicing the imperial sword techniques after he had watched his father. Was good enough to implement the stances and get a feel for the techniques, but not if he really wanted to experience the imperial sword and meld it with his own flowing sword. (note: Jin¡¯s grandfather Yi Guo will now be reffered to as grandpa Yi) Jin decided to ask his grandpa Yi if he could get a sword to practise with. Jin knew he would find his grandpa Yi in the Yi clans training hall practising. Jin entered the training hall and saw his grandpa Yi practising with a sword that looked like a katana. The katana was the required sword to get 100% out of his flowing sword, as Jin saw this he was thinking how lucky he was, nice never thought they had katanas here i was thinking i would only get 70 % out of my flowing sword max 80%. After grandpa Yi was finished practicing Jin walked over asking "Grandpa Yi what was the sword techniques you where practicing right now? " Grandpa Yi turned around explaining it was their ancestors piercing sky technique. Only one elder in the entire Yi clan was thought this technique and when he found someone worthy he would the teach it to that person. What grandpa Yi didnt know was that Jin had seen it from beginning to end and already grasped the piercing sky technique. Jin asked his grandpa Yi for a sword like the sword he was using, " Grandpa Yi the sword you are using looks strange" "yes" Granpa yi answered " this sword is made specially for the piercing sky technique and it is the only one of its kind" Jin looked at the sword in his grandpa Yi¡¯s hand "grandpa Yi i like the shape of that sword, and I have been thinking, I want to start training with the sword, just so i can better the state of my body even if its just a little. Can you please make me one smaller and much lighter" Jin asked. Grandpa Yi looked at his grandson Jin and laughed "of course i can. "I was always hoping you would practice with the sword, even if your path is to become a mage. It is always a good thing to now your opponents. The sword will be ready in a week" Grandpa Yi and Jin looked at eachother, understanding they both where starving and needed to eat. Both went to the dinning hall to eat with his mother, Yi jun. They started to talk about Jins training in his elemental circulation. When Jin told them he was already done and had opened his meridians enough to circulate his elemental essence for 24 hours they both looked at Jin in shock and suddenly grandpa Yi started to laugh while Jins mother Jun looked at him with a big smile and a glint in her eyes. "I knew it my child is a genius, who cares about some ordinary body" Jun said. Grandpa Yi¡¯s laughter came to an end. "if you truly can circulate your elemental essence for 24 hours that means you can already start with some minor spell casting of the mage rank 1 level. " grandpa Yi said. While looking at Jin with a glint of hope and excitenment in his eyes, "I will deliver to you the book of which both wind and earth spell techniques so you can start your training" Grandpa Yi said with a proud smile on his face. Jin nodded, looked at his grandpa Yi and his loving mother, smiled and said " can we keep this a secret between the three of us" "of course" they both replied happily. A new sword A new Sword One week later, Jin wakes up early in the morning washes himself and gets dressed skipping down the stairs to the dining hall for breakfast, Jin¡¯s mother Jun looks at him. ¡°you woke up early today, is anything special happening? ¡° Jun asked with a smile and a knowing look in her eyes. Jin sat himself down on a chair, started eating his food and answered. ¡° You know grandpa Yi is delivering my sword today, also i believe he will bring me the spell casting books he promised¡° After breakfast Jin was wandering around the mansion not knowing what to do while waiting for when his grandpa Yi would arrive. Just when Jin was thinking of leaving for his hidden training ground he heard his grandpa Yi laughing and shouting in a calm tone. ¡° Jin I was looking for you.¡° As Jin turned around, grandpa Yi was already putting his hand on Jins shoulder. ¡° We need to talk¡° Grandpa yi said while pressing down on Jins shoulder. Jin looked up at grandpa Yi and nodded his head. ¡°Follow me.¡° Grandpa Yi said and started walking. Jin followed and noticed they where walking towards their ancestors hall. Seeing this Jin asked. ¡°Why are we walking towards the ancestors hall.¡° Looking at his grandpa Yis back, Grandpa Yi stopped, turned around and answered him. ¡° The ancestors hall is the only place where nobody can disturb or listen on our conversation.¡° Jin understood it was something important and followed grandpa Yi to the ancestors hall. Inside the ancestors hall grandpa yi closed the massive doors looked Jin in the eyes before revealing a plain looking ring and explained. ¡°Jin this is a spatial ring inside i put your sword, both spell books and a book about mages and warriors, just drop some blood to bind the ring. ¡° Grandpa Yi took a deep breath and continued. ¡°Jin listened to me. It is very important that you dont reveal the spell books to anyone. ¡° Jin nodded his head and answered ¡°I was not planing to. Anywas we promised, remember. ¡° Grandpa Yi smiled and continued. ¡°Jin, children younger then ten are not allowed to have any spell books. If people found out that you already can cast spells only problems will come with the news of a seven year old child capable of such feats. ¡° ¡°I understand. ¡° Jin answered. Jin looked at the two elemental spell books he was given by grandpa Yi, one was to conjur air around his hand and throw it creating a sharp blade of wind the other book was a earth spell to manipulate the earth with is elemental essence to create and form objects. After looking through the books he sent them back into his ring and withdrew his first sword the katana, after feeling the perfect weight and seeing the perfect length and width of his new black katana Jin asked his grandpa Yi what his new katana was made out of. Grandpa Yi looked at Jin while smiling and explained. ¡°This sword is made of a black ore which when used to create a sword or any kind of weapon and depending on the smelting and crafting method it is unbreakable. Luckily for you, one of the only people that knows this technique in the whole sky continent just happened to be passing through emerald city, and he his a good friend of your old grandpa. ¡° Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°Thank you grandpa Yi. ¡° Jin said, then asked. ¡°Why did you not make one for yourself when your friend already was in emerald city? ¡° Grandpa Yi laughed saying. ¡°I wish he could, but it is a very rare ore and we only had a big enough black ore for one short sword, two knifes or two daggers or a sword big enough for a child, you.¡° ¡°Then I will treasure it always, and keep it with me.¡° Jin said smiling from ear to ear. Grandpa Yi started laughing again while looking at his grandson. ¡°Oh i almost forgot, another reason the black ore is so special is it can gather and enhance all elemental essence. If you look under the hilt I asked my friend to incase one earth and one air crystal, so you can also use it as a magic staff. Now go and familierize yourself with your new sword ¡° Jin nodded, gave his grandpa Yi a big hug then left. A child was moving fast then slowed down, flowing from one place to another with a black katana. Then he suddenly stopped in the middle of his training ground and the katana dissapeared. He was standing completly frozen, not moving a finger, but around his hand air was gathering and getting denser, the next second a branch fell down from a tree it was cleanly cut in half. Jin had mastered the most basic of the wind blade at a frightning fast pase. The gathering of the air around my hand takes to long I need to shorten that, maybe I should try gathering the air around my katana and see what that will create. Jin thought. The next second the black katana appeared in Jins hand, air gathering around the blade of the katana. Jin slashed his katana towards the tree in a downwards motion, the wind blade flew straight through the tree. Yep that is much stronger then my basic wind blades, tomorrow i should try some different approaches. Oh I also need to test out some earth manipulation as well. Tomorrow I will check in on father to see if he is teaching that idiot of a second prince something else, then i will countinue with my magic spells. This was going trough is head as he walked towards the mansion to sleep, he had spent all day on the training ground even skipping dinner. Oh I forgot I need to name my katana, wind cutter no, maybe fast wind, hmmm black wind yes black wind sounds nice. I will call her black wind. Jin thought satisfied with his naming sense. Next day Jin was standing at his usual place overlooking the imperial training ground, watching his father training the idiot prince in the imperial art of the spear. The next month Jin was spending his time going from the imperial training grounds to his own hidden training ground learning the imperial spear while also training in his flowing sword, the imperial sword and his magic casting. He now could manipulate the earth in many different forms, but realised when using black wind it amplified his own magic multiple times. Two new techniques was created with the help of his black wind. He could easily create a thin shield wall of earth and some spikes shoting out of the ground. But while using black wind to penetrate the earth, and then pouring earth essence through his black wind, he could make spikes 360 degrees around him with a distance up to 20 meters. The Cave System The Cave system ************************************* One year had passed, Jin was now eight years old, his body had devoloped more towards the atlethic build then a warrior packed with muscles. Jin was a mix between a mage and warrior. This also suited Jins martial art, where flexibility and fluidity was a must. His hair now reached a little below his shoulders, his facial feautures was more defined and you could see how his face would develop in the future, more beautiful than handsome. His green eyes looked clearer and his white skin purer. While Jin was training in both his magic and martial art, his swordsmanship had taken the same route as his hand to hand combat, and melded perfectly to a faster more fluid technique. He had tried the piercing sky technique he stole from grandpa Yi, but did not have the strength to preform any of it. His magic had improved to the peak of first rank, and he would soon begin with the basic of second rank. He could now make the earth spikes reach out fifty meters with his black wind, and three almost four meters without it. His wind blades could now reach halfway through a tree tick enough for tree grown men to link arms around. Jins speed in conjuring air also improved, and it would not take more then a second from conjuring the air untill the wind struck through its intented target. Jin was eating breakfast with his mother and grandpa Yi, they where talking about his progress, and how much he had changed since two years ago. Jin brought up his father, he had felt his father and himself grow further and further apart. He hoped his progress in his body and the imperial styles would change things between them, and get closer. He knew that being a mage was looked down upon by warriors, but his father would be different right, he was after all his father. Both his mother and grandpa Yi suggested that he talked with his father at the imperial training ground, then bring him somewhere nobody would disturb them, and show him his magic, that should be impossible for anyone younger then eleven years old. Jin agreed and was about to leave when his mother stopped him. ¡°We need to talk¡° Jun said. Jin looked at his mother and said. ¡°Okay, what about? ¡° His mother explained that it was time for Jin to get engaged. ¡°Your grandpa Yi and I have been talking about this for a while, and even if no family of high nobilty will betroth their daughter to you, because you are a mage. I and your grandpa Yi have found you a match. ¡° Jun said very happily with a big smile on her face. Grandpa Yi was laughing while he said. ¡°Jin, one of my oldest friends have a granddaughter your age. Their house as fallen on some bad times, and lost alot of their assets, but they were once high nobility before their fall.¡° Jin had no choice in this matter and could only let his mother and grandpa Yi go through with their plans. ¡°Okay grandpa Yi, mom. I will do what you think is best. ¡° Jin answered while nodding his head. On his way to the imperial training ground Jin was walking in a daze while thinking to himself. I understand the need for these kind of arrangements, and I even understand why mom and grandpa Yi wans this for me. I know this is normal in the sun empire, even in the sky continent. The problem with this is I died when i was twentyone and im now eight by right this should make me twentynine years of age even this is a great age to get engaged or betrothed but not to a eight year old girl it just fell wrong. Jin did not notice that while he was thinking about what his mother and grandpa Yi said he had already arrived at his destination in front of the imperial training ground. Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. He was shaken out of his daze by laughter, the happy laughter of his father and Jin looked in the direction the laughter was coming from. Jin saw his father on one knee hugging the second prince saying ¡°You finally mastered all the stances of the imperial spear and it only took you a year your even faster then your older brother.¡° It took him a whole year to master the imperial spear, and his brother took even longer, what a pair of useless idiotic brothers. Jin thought to himself when he suddenly froze, and almost all life got sucked out of him. His fathers words stabed Jin right through the heart. ¡°Why did I get burdened with a son like him, why couldnt my wife give birth to you instead. ¡° It was said under Yi chus breath, but Jin heard every word. Jin fell to his knees and the sound of Jins knees hitting the ground made his father turn around. When Yi Chu turned around, he saw his eight year old child Jin on his knees, his face pale, his body shaking, and tears streaming down his face. Yi Chu tried speaking but all he could say before Jin stod up turned around and ran was his name. ¡°Jin¡°. Three hours later Jin was still runing, Jin did not know how long he had been runing for, but after the shock of hearing his fathers thoughts he just kept runing. While Jin was runing he heard the sounds of a battle. Curious he walked towards the shouting, screaming and klinging of blades. When Jin got closer he saw many small and big rocks behind the merchant caravan being attacked by bandits. Jin decided to go around and hide between the rocks to get a better look a the battle. When he sat down in hiding behind the rocks, the fight was almost over and the remaining survivors scattered around everywhere. One merchant ran directly towards Jin, he was riddled with arrows before he rached cover from the rocks Jin was hiding between and fell over dead. One arrow missed its intended target and flew straight into Jins shoulder and Jin screamed from the pain. The scream startled the other bandits because they knew they had killed everyone from the caravan. When they saw Jin they started laughing and singing. One of the bandits said ¡°He is a noble lets capture him and ransom him back to his family. ¡° All the other bandits screamed in unison. ¡°Yeah ransom him back, lets get him. ¡° Every bandit was screaming while chasing Jin. Jin had already started runing in the opposite direction. Jin stupidly pulled out the arrow from his shoulder, but that only made it worse, he knew he was supposed to leave it in but he panicked. Jin had never been in a situation like this before, and he was feeling weaker and weaker every minut that passed as he was loosing more and more blood. His eyes became cloudy and he could not see a meter in front of himself, but countinued running when he stumbled on som rocks and fell down a cliff. Luckily he landed on a big rock sticking out from the cliff wall, Jin was crawling to the cliff wall doing his best to hide from the chasing bandits on top of the cliff looking down. A opening in the cliff wall appeared or had always been there, Jin could not tell from the blood loss and cloudy vision. At this point Jin did not care and crawled in the cave. When inside he noticed it was a slide made of smooth rock and already slipped down. Jin did not know how long the ride down was, but when he hit the bottom he was calm, he was safe. He used some earth magic to plugg his wound and stop the bleeding, he took out some liquid and medicine from his spatial ring and circulated some essence through his body. The liquid, medicine and elemental essence replinshed most of the blood he had lost and the medicine was slowly healing his wound. He looked around to discover he was inside a big cave system. Exploring the cave systems The cave system was huge. Jin couldnt see the end of it, but it was impossible to return the way he came as it was to slippery to climp back up. Jin decided the only way was to find another way out. As Jin was walking around the cave system and saw a small shadow speeding away, I remember reading that inside most cave are small to big animals, almost all of them are carnivours better be carefull. Jin took out his black wind fom his spatial ring and continued further and deeper into the cave. When Jin was moving deeper and deeper down the cave, he encountered his first group of animals. Recalling his encounter with the bandits and the sorry state he ended up in Jin knew he lacked battle experience, and decided this was a good oppurtunity to get some. After studying the creatures he realized they where some kind of ratlike creauters the size of dogs, and remember reading about them in the library of the Yi clan. They where a vicious kind of breed with poisonous teeth and and razor sharp claws, that always attacked in a pack. He knew he could easily take them out with his earth and wind magic, but the whole point was for him to gather some real battle experience so he decided to use his black wind and martial art. Jin moved through the pack of those rat like creatures and esaily dispatched the creatures one after the other without so much as a scratch to himself. Rather pleased with what he had accomplished Jin moved deeper into the cave. Soon he found himself surrounded by the same rat creatures, but his time their number far exceeded thousand. Jin knew he now was at a disadvantage and couldnt possible kill the creautures while surronded and ran towards a group of the rat creatures and dispatced them as easily as the first group he had encountered earlier. After making an opening, he quickly moved to a place easier to defend. He positioned himself with his back to the wall knowing retreating now, was impossible. Jin knew this was the safest place not to become overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of his enemys. One after another of the aggresive and fierce rat creatures met their demise at the blade of black wind. The creatures soon realised that they could not get close enough to kill and tried to exhaust him and look for any openings with continued fierce and savage attacks. To bad they did not know when Jin came up with his flowing arts, it was becuse of his weak body could not countinue with normal martial arts as it exhausted him. His flowing arts was created to not use much of his own strength but still be effective against other martial arts. After Jin had melded with the imperial sword which was the most offensive of all warrior techniques his attacks was not just more fluid and much faster but sharper and more deadly, as his black wind sliced through his enemys in a fluid, fast and deadly motion. Jin continued to kill the creautures with ease and without getting tired. The creatures seemed to decided on an all out attack, as every last one started to speed towards Jin screeching and screaming. Just as they enterd into range, each and everyone of the creatures wailed and screamed in pain as they were pierced through by Jins earth spikes. Jin knew that without his magic he would be in bad shape, even if he had manged to kill his way through. Jin knew he never would have avoided their poisoned claws and teeth he would be scratched or bitten, maybe both, been poisoned and without any antidote he would have died. Jin decided to rest, he needed a safe place to sleep. He climbed the walls and found a place to build his own cave, he used his earth magic to extract the the rocks from the cave wall. With a hole in the cave wall he made himself as comfortable as he could, then he closed the opening with his earth magic and fell asleep. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. The next day he woke up feeling the hunger from not eating yesterday, after all that had happened Jin had forgotten to eat. Luckily he had stored food in his spatial ring. Jin had after all more then once, forgotten to eat when getting lost in his training. After continuously going hungry after training, he had learned his lesson and he always carried food in his spatial ring. After eating his fill, Jin decided to continue his exploring of the cave and went deeper. Jin found more and more creatures scattered around the cave, and continued on the path the day before to gather experience. Weeks passed as he continued down the path of the cave at the same time getting more experience fighting to the death. This resulted in his senses sharpened and his flowing emperor arts became more adapt to killing. Jin thought to himself I am much stronger as a warrior and my body has also adapted to best execute my emperor flowing style just to bad I dont have a warriors body or even know have to practice as a warrior. When he suddnly remembered the warrior mage book his grandpa Yi had gifted him. Jin found a spot where some rocks illuminated the surrondings and used it as a book lamp, and started to browse through the book. He stoped at one page explaining the difference between a warrior and a mage. As he read the pages that said that mages and warriors were different because of their usage of mana. It also descriped the term ordinary that applied to mages, mages was called ordinary because they were born without a dantian and could not cultivate as other warriors. Jin understood the reason he was called ordinary. His body even if it was stronger then all mages, never could match a warrior in strength. The reason, warriors would gather the elemental essence in their body making it stronger, and mages was a conduit to pass the elemental essence through their bodys and release powerful spells. Jin continued to read the book as he contemplated his lack of a dantian, he knew he would never be a warrior. He also with his own emperor flowing arts and his body trained through martial arts, was just as agile and fast as any warrior he had seen. Ofcourse the highest rank warrior he had seen sparring on the imperial training ground was a rank 7 warrior and he was relying more on strength, power and agrresivenes then speed and agilty. And even if Jin lacked the strength, and some warriors were faster or more agile, his agility and speed could still be enhanced with both training and wind magic. When Jin was thinking of the training he saw on the imperial training ground, he started to think of his mother, remembering how he just ran off without letting his mother know after hearing his fathers real thoughts. not even talking to his mother and dissapearing in the cave for what seemed to be around a month he noticed in the corner of his eyes some light shining through a crack in the wall. Seeing the light, Jin thought of how this could be his way out and home to his loving mother. Jin entered the crack in the wall, and it was just big enough for him to squeeze through, Jin was happy he was born a mage and not a warrior. Jin wiggled his way through the crack and could not believe what he saw. The Ancestor The Ancestor When Jin came out of the crack in the wall he saw a big room with several small rooms connecting to the room in front of his eyes. The room was almost empty. He saw a big table and some chairs and what looked like a study in one of the smaller rooms, one of the rooms even had a bed. The walls, the table, the chairs, and the bed, all of it were carved from green and white jade. It was beautiful and simple but still gave off the feeling that some nobility lived there. After some time pondering, Jin came to the conclusion that nobody had been there or entered the room or many years. If it was late or early Jin did not know the only thing he knew was he was tired and needed to sleep. He would get a more thorough understanding of everything after some sleep. When Jin woke up he decided to look around, he looked through the last of the rooms and discovered a bath and some kind of treasure room with medicine and cultivating pills, gold, silver and even some weapons, he even found a big chunk of some black ore, thinking it was the same ore that his katana was made out of. Jin put the big chunk of black ore, the money, and the pills in his spatial ring. He looked over the weapons to see if it was something he could use before all the weapons also found themselves in his spatial ring. After raiding the treasure room, Jin entered the study and saw an empty shelf, but next to the shelf a skeleton laying in a fetal position, on the skeletons right middle finger a shining silver ring. Spatial ring, this must be the owner of this place or at least the last one to be here. I wonder whats in the ring. Jin looked through the spatial ring and found many spell books and some kind of pill, he did not know what the pill was for. The spell books were almost all for the earth sage stage and some was even for the heaven stage. Inside the ring, it was also some warrior cultivating techniques, but one book caught Jins eye it was a book with the name Yi Wei Bo. Jin took out the book and started reading. Jin flipped through the pages of this book and it mostly described different training methods for different spells of all the elements, except the darkness element. It also described training and cultivating methods for warriors, and the training regime made for his brother Yiu Juan. It also explained that only the First born child held the right to the emperors last name. The reason, so not to be challenged by any of the other children of the emperor. Thats why his brother did not carry the same last name as Yi Wei Bo. On the last page of the book, Jin found something interesting written by Yi Wei Bo and the last lines were written in blood. My name is Yi Wei Bo, I am the first born to emperor Yi Huang Ju-Long. I was born With an ordinary body, but great apptitude for magic. As i grew up i knew nothing of the plotting behind my back, but as long as my father, the emperor was alive nobody dared do anything in the open. I survived many assasination attempts, but we could never figure out who was behind them. As i grew older i knew this was all because of my ordinary body, not having a dantian, and to never become a warrior. My own family, the people, and the court all wanted a warrior to be the emperor, not a mage, but nobody voiced their opinion in the open. I started searching everywhere for a method to change my destiny, knowing it was a fools dream, but the alternative was something I could not accept. For ten years my one and only friend from childhood Fang Jing-wei was looking into every rumor, legend, and story. He came across a forbidden pill said to create a dantian in humans and ordinarys alike. The forbidden pill was said to kill the ones with weak wills and spirits, and humans had 1:10000 chance to survive and mages had 1:1000 chance. with a strong will and spirit, and my affinity for three elements, I stood a better chance then most. Knowing the fact that someone wanted me dead the forbidden pill was my safest route. I built this place where i could safely ingest the pill and emerge a warrior. The day i was going underground to change my destiny approached, but the emperor died. After the emperors funeral, during the mourning period, my own brother Yiu Juan, born from one of my fathers concubines, killed the empress and tried to kill me. I managed to send my family safely away with the help of Jing-wei, but I was gravely injured in the process. I managed to escape to my underground quarters. I write this in hope of my descendants finding out the truth about the despicable and traitorous Yiu Juan the usurper of my throne. You who finds this book and last dwelling place I Yi Wei Bo leave you everything I Yi Wei Bo own, and hope you will right the wrong fallen on the Yi family. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. The page was signed by Yi Wei Bo and stamped with the Imperial seal of the Yi clan in blood. Jin was thinking about what he read, and the implications of it all. This means the Yi clan is the true Imperial family, and the Yiu clan is not. Do Yiu clan not know, or do they, either way I need some other opinions on this matter. First I need to find the Imperial seal of the Yi clan, it was not in the spatial ring, maybe beside the body of Yi Wei Bo. Jin started searching around the body of Yi Wei Bo and found the Imperial seal, he put the seal in his own spatial ring. Next Jin took out the forbidden pill and looked it over for around ten minutes while thinking, before he put it back inside his own spatial ring. This little pill will solve my problem of being ordinary, but the risks involved are to great 1:1000 will succsesfully make a dantian the rest will die. Hmm I believe I got the strongest spirit and thats only because I have been reincarnated, and I am also a dual elementist, but is it enough. Are I willing to risk it on that alone, i dont know. After one hour walking around restless, Jin took out the pill again, looked at it. With great risk comes great reward. Nothing is happening. Jin thought, when suddenly a surge of elemental essence flowed towards him, entered his body and gathered around the area where his dantian should be. Because Jin was originally a mage, and had widen his own meridians the elemental essence gathered at amazing speed. Because of the fast pace of the essence flowing in his body, before his dantain was completed, the amount of elemental essence in his body was to much to handle. Jin decided to compress all the elemental essence entering his body to make room for what seemed to be a never ending supply of elemental essence. Had Jin not figured this out in time he would be one of the 999:1000 to die. Compressing the elemental essence was one way for the mages to survive. Luckily Jin managed to complety compress his elemental essence, and when his dantian was completed it sucked the compressed elemental essence inside itself. This was easy, but I would have died if I didnt compress the elemenal essence that rushed into my body. So that was it, it was not even difficult. Jin thought with a smirk on his face. When suddenly he felt pain, it was an excruciating pain. Jin fell on the bed and passed out, but he could still feel the pain. If you were standing over and looking at him he looked like he was sleeping peacefully, but that was not what was happening. Jin could feel everything, his bones was crushed and remade, his muscles was teared in pieces and made stronger as the muscles in his body healed. It was an unimaginable pain, but it didnt happen just once, it happened over and over again. Jin felt it all. After some time Jin felt the pain fade away, but soon his blood vessels, organs and meridians was remaid. The excruciating pain returned, again and again, then the pain faded, but it was not over. Next it was his skin, nails, and eyes, and another type of pain. Everything was broken down only to be remade again and again. Jin was in a daze, his mind was muddled and confused, and during this time he recalled everything from his past life, and new life. Jin did not know how much time had passed, but it seemed like forever. The last of the painful change concluded and Jin passed out, everything went blank. Jin was laying there passed out in his own blood for days. When Jin finally woke up he was a little drowsy, but quickly remembered all that had happened. He looked around to see his dried up blood and filth all over and around him, he quickly checked himself for wounds and noticed his skin was much clearer and smoother than before. He walked towards the bath to clean himself from the blood and filth that had been gathered while he was passed out. After Jin was clean, he walked to a dresser in the bedroom and pulled out some clothes and got dressed. After his bath and getting dressed, Jin finally felt refreshed and clean, so he decided it was time to leave. He realized that the crack in the wall was now to small for him to squeeze through and needed another way out. Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! Jin was suprised that his body would no longer fit through the crack in the wall, so he started examinating himself, his hands was bigger, he even seemed taller, more muscular then before, but not in a bulging warrior kind of way. Jin was scanning his surrondings, looking for another way out, his eyes rested on one of the smaller rooms he had already looked through before, but did not contain anything. Jin decided to take another more thourough look through the room. Jin entered and noticed that one of the walls was different than the others, it was not as white as the rest. Jin placed both his hands on the wall and the feeling of earth on his hands made him realize this wall was made by earth magic. He made the earth wall open up with his own earth magic and behind the wall he saw stairs leading up, perhaps towards the surface. Jin walked up the stairs until there were no more stairs and hit the ceiling, with a push towards the ceiling that was blocking his path. Suddenly the ceiling started to rumble, and move the ceiling slowly descended a few inches and then slide to the side. Jin walked through the opening and found himself inside the ancestors hall in his own home the Yi clan. Inside the ancestors hall Jin decided that since he alrady possessed a dantian and could now be considered a warrior, he was gonna look around for some of the Yi clans warrior cultivating methods and weapons. Jin soon understood that none of the the weapons or cultivating techniques could measure up to the ones he accuired from Yi Wei Bo, and certainly no weapons was better than his own black wind. After going through everything of interest in the ancestors hall, Jin was thinking, now that I am home, how should i explain everything. He would tell his mother and Grandpa Yi the truth, but he needed a believable story to tell everyone else. Jin was thinking about how long he had been gone when the door to the ancestors hall opened and in stepped grandpa Yi Grandpa Yi saw a youth around eleven years old with a beautiful white jadelike face with vibrant piercing green eyes looking at him. Jin was so happy to see his grandfather that he almost started crying, but the next second he felt a burning sensation in his left shoulder, Jin saw his grandpa Yi standing there, sword in hand, while blood was pouring out from a wound in his left shoulder. As a reflex, Jin flicked his right wrist and black wind appeared in his hand. When his grandpa Yi saw black wind, a killing intend that was not there before, suddenly emerged from the kind and caring grandpa Yi directed towards Jin. Jin tried to speak, but the pressure was to intense and he only managed to utter ¡°i am¡° before his other shoulder was pierced through and Jin dropped his Black wind with a clank to the ground. Grandpa Yi picked up black wind and said with anger, ¡°this sword belongs to my grandson what did you do to him?¡° The captive The captive The young boy was nailed to the wall by his grandfathers sword, blood was flowing from the wound in his left shoulder, his right shoulder was pierced through by a sword and into the wall behind him. Jin looked up and his eyes met his grandfathers eyes staring him down, before he passed out saying ¡° I did nothing, I am Yi Jin¡° When Jin woke up he couldn¡¯t feel any pain and all he could see was darkness, the room was pitch black, but soon his eyes adjustet to the dark and he realized he was in a small room with just a bed and nothing else but a bucket in a corner. He quickly understood he was held captive by the Yi clan. He was wearing a new set of clothes and his spatialring was gone. Jin pondered about his situation, and came to the conclusion they wanted to question him about himself. Jin found the whole situation very funny. After what felt like days alone in a dark room he was picked up by some guards he had not seen before, and was brought to another room. The room was brightly lit and there was two chairs facing each other and a table in the middle, the guards sat Jin down on one of the chairs and was told to wait. Some time later, no more then a few minutes Jins grandfather walked in the room sat down opposite Jin. Grandpa Yi looked Jin straight in the eyes and asked in a cold, detached and threatening tone. ¡° boy start talking, how did You get this sword and this spatialring ?¡° Jin could see the anger in his grandfathers eyes as he asked him about black wind and the spatial ring. ¡° Grandpa Yi, you gave them to me remember? We were in the ancestors hall and you gave me the sword, then told me your friend made it for you out of the last chunk of black ore we possessed. You also gave me the spatialring with some spell casting books you told me to never reveal ¡° Grandpa Yi looked at Jin with shocked eyes and mumbled ¡°impossible¡° he stood up walked over to Jin, started shaking him ¡° That¡¯s not possible. Jin, my grandson died 2 years ago when he fell down a cliff chased by bandits, we know everything that happened, the bandits told us everything. He couldn¡¯t have survived the drop and he was injured. Even if he survived he couldn¡¯t be you. He was a mage not a warrior like you.¡° Grandpa Yi said with a dry throat and a touch of sadness in his voice. Jin was shocked, they thought he was dead. okay they think i am dead, that that i can fix, but 2 years, i have been gone for 2 years. at most i spent 6 months in the cave. The transformation thats it, it must have been the transformation. What about mom she think im dead Jin thought a litlle confused and puzzled, then he asked: ¡° Grandpa Yi, my mother, how is my mother? can i see her?¡° His grandfather just looked at him when Jin stood up and threw a windblade in the wall and said: ¡° Grandpa Yi see im both a warrior and a mage, give me the spatial ring and i will show you how.¡° Grandpa Yi pushed the spatial ring towards Jin, Jin took out the ancestors book and flipped to the page about the forbidden pill and pushed the book to his grandfather. Grandpa Yi started reading without moving a muscle his, face was frozen. After a minute he put down the book and turned towards Jin with a smile ¡° Is it really you?, you didn¡¯t die? you really didn¡¯t die?¡° Grandpa Yi asked in a caring and warm tone almost chocking on his own words. Jin told his grandfaher everything. Everything from what happened between him and his father, to running into the bandits and falling down the cliff. How he found an opening in the cliff wall and entering the cave. Walking around the cave system for 6 months fighting different creatures, until he entered the ancestors hiding place and discovering the book and the forbidden pill. How he finally managed to find his way home. He asked about his mother and how she was doing. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Grandpa Yi looked at him with an apologetic look. ¡° Your mother never belived you had died. She went out looking for you and she hasn¡¯t returned since the day you dissapeared. Everyone tried to convince your mother that you had died, but she just left and said a mother knows¡° ¡°My mother left to find me, where is she now? Has something happened?¡° Jin asked clearly worried and afraid of his mothers safety and well being. No nothing has happened, your mother is safe and she has been traveling around looking for you. She sends a messenger everytime she has entered or are leaving for a new city. Dont worry, now that you are home i will send some messengers to find her and bring her home.¡° Grandpa Yi replied. Jin nodded his head and asked grandpa Yi ¡° what about the book and Yi Wei¡¯s wish? Are we going to do something?¡° ¡°im not sure yet. I will look into it and decide what to do after we get all the facts. Don¡¯t worry about anything ¡° Grandpa Yi replied cleary contemplating what to do next. He looked at Jin and said in a serious tone ¡° Jin everything has now changed, the fact that you now have a dantian, well you can probably imagine the outcome if the news spread. Luckily everyone thinks you are dead¡° ¡°what do you mean? I understand about me being both a mage and a warrior¡° Jin asked with a confused look. ¡° I mean it will be easier to hide who you are. Everyone you have come in contact with today know you are a warior and it will be impossible for you to live her as Yi Jin for now. I want you to train with an old friend of mine, he owes me and will take you in. It was impssible for you before when you only were a mage, but now he can train you as a warrior. I want you to become his apprentince. Dont worry i will take care of everything.¡° Grandpa Yi explained to Jin. Jin Looked at his grandfather with worry and asked his grandfather with a slight tremble in his voice ¡°What about mother?¡° With a smile on his face and a gentle caring tone grandpa Yi answered ¡° When your mother returns i will tell her everything that has happened with you since you left. Then we will both come to find you. Dont worry i will handle everything i promise¡° Jin Nodded his head and smiled ¡° Ok, i understand.¡° Jin was looking at his grandpa when his stomach growled and with an embaressed look Jin said ¡°Im hungry¡° Grandpa Yi started laughing and prepared something to eat and drink, many dishes was prepared with different kind of meat, vegetables, soup and bread. All of the dishes was placed in front of Jin. Jin hadn¡¯t eaten in a long time and when he ate it was nothing like what was in front of him, he started wolfing down diferrent kind of dishes. Grandpa Yi had a amusing look as he watched his grandsone eat. They talked about what had happened in the clan while Jin had been gone, other then his death and his mother leaving to search for him nothing much had changed. After Jin was finished eating and talking with his granfather Jin was sent back to the dark room to sleep. Change in plans ------------------------------------------- Jin sat on the bed, but he didnt go to sleep, he started to cultivate one of the warrior techniques he found in Yi Weis spatialring. Jin started to gather the elemental essence through his meridians, towards his dantian at an amazing speed. The speed of the elemental essence flowing through him towards his dantian suprised Jin, he thought the only reason for this speed had to be because of his training as a mage to gather the essence of elements through his meridians. Jin spent the whole night cultivating and broke through to warrior rank 1. In just one night he had reached rank 1 even after Jin reached rank 1 his speed didn¡¯t drop. Jin thought about what had occured, him reaching warrior rank 1 in one night of cultivating. It must be because im already a rank 2 mage, so as long as i reach a higher rank as a mage, i will reach the same level as a warrior without any problems. Suddenly the door to his room opened and his grandfather walked in letting him know it was time to leave. When suddenly grandpa Yi walked towards Jin examining him, and in a suprised voice asked: ¡°You reached warrior rank 1 in one night, what kind of monster are you?¡° Jin looked back at his grandfather and explained what had happened, and his own theory of why it was possible to reach rank 1 as a warrior in one night. ¡°That would explain it, nobody as ever been a mage and a warrior before, or at least i¡¯ve never heard about one. You¡¯ll probably experience a lot being both a mage and a warrior ¡° Grandpa Yi said with a smile in a warm and gentle tone. They walked out of the Yi clan residence towards a beautiful carriage, when Jin saw out of the corner of his eyes a person walking straight for them. Jin was suprised when he saw it was his own father, Yi Chu. Grandpa Yi noticed how Jin clenched his fist, and saw the anger appear in Jins eyes when he was looking at his father. Grandpa Yi pulled Jin towards the carriage and spoke with a voice full of care. ¡° Don¡¯t let him bother you, come we are leaving now¡° When Jin told grandpa Yi everything that had happened and what his father had said, Yi Cho felt dissapointment and anger towards his son. They moved towards the carriage to leave. When Yi Chu noticed he had been ignored he yelled out ¡°Father¡° and hurried towards them stopping Jin and his father from leaving. ¡°Father are you going to the city?¡° Yi Chu asked his Father not paying any attention to the child standing there. Grandpa Yi looked a little helpless, but answered his son ¡° Yes i am leaving for the city. I promised my old friend that i would show his son around the city, since he will be living in the city from now on. ¡° Yi Chu looked over the child at his fathers side and said in a suprised tone ¡° Oh this boy has reached warrior rank 1¡° Jin just nodded his head thinking: This is my father he dosn¡¯t even recognize his own son. This man is the one who should love me unconditonally, but instead he threw me away. Yi Chu continued to speak in a proud and selfsatisfied tone: ¡°The child i am training has also reached warrior rank 1 not long ago. You look to be the same age, if you could spare some time i would love for you to meet and spar?¡° ¡°Sure i can spare some time for a quick spar¡° Jin answered quick before his grandfather could say a word. They walked towards the imperial training grounds, when grandpa Yi pulled Jin to the side and asked him ¡°What are you thinking?¡° Jin looked up and answered his grandfather with a smile. ¡°I am just checking out the boy my father is so proud off, and how he compares to me his son he discarded.¡° The trio arrived at the training grounds and saw the second prince already there practicing his stances with a group of nobles and some girls arround the same age as Yiu Sei. Yi Chu turned towards his father and Jin and said ¡°Wait here i will explain to Sei¡¯er and we can begin the spar¡° Sei¡¯er? When did they get so close, Jin thought clenching his fist, clearly bothered by what his father had said. Yi Chu and Yiu Sei both stood at the middle of the training grounds signaling Jin to come over. Jin walked towards them, when he arrived at the center he could see Yiu Sei was bigger than him and even slightly taller. Yiu Sei looked at Jin and said in a prideful and arrogant tone ¡° You can pick whatever weapon you are most comfortable with and i will use the same¡° This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Jin asked ¡° are you sure¡° ¡°Of course, it dosn¡¯t even matter what weapon you choose the result will be the same¡° Yiu Sei said with a mocking grin, laughing and looking towards the group of nobles, when they saw the prince looking they also started laughing. He surrounds himself with idots that agrees with everything he says, Jin thought. ¡°Okay, then i will choose the sword.¡° Jin said and walked towards the wooden swords to pick one out. When he got closer to the wooden swords, one of the girls looked at him turned around and said to the other girls standind there. ¡°Look, that boy is really pretty in a handsome kind of way.¡° The other girls all agreed then they started talking and staring. The other males in the group heard what the girls said they all looked at Jin with jealousy, anger and even some killing intent. Yiu Sei was no different, He looked at Jin Thinking I invited the group to impress and show of my skills, specially for the girls, but they all look at him just because he is a prettyboy. Yiu Sei was staring at Jin with murder in his eyes and said mockingly ¡°Only children plays with wooden swords we wil spar with real ones¡° ¡°Then i will use a short sword¡° Jin said, flicked his wrist and the black wind appeared in his hand, and he started walking back to the center of the training grounds signaling he was ready. ¡°He has a spatialring¡° one in the group said in a suprised voice This made Yiu Sei even more jealous and angry as the second prince of the Sun empire even he didn¡¯t have a spatial ring yet. Yiu sei walked towards Jin with his sword in hand, when he reached the center he flew towards Jin, but Jin was prepeared. Jin knew all the imperial techniques and easily blocked and dodged every move Yiu Sei made. Jin moved around the the training grounds evading and blocking everything Yiu sei threw at him. This made Yiu Sei even angrier, he was losing face in front of everyone present. ¡°Is this all your good for? to run around like a little girl?¡° Yiu Sei mockingly said. Jin was smiling while laughing on the inside, thinking to himself. this is your genius father, this is who you are so proud of, who you care for so much that you could discard your own son. Jin was looking towards his father to see the look on his face, when suddenly someone threw a pepple at his face, making him lose balance for a split second. He was to preoccupied looking at his fathers reaction, so he didn¡¯t notice when the prince signaled someone to throw a pepple at him. Yiu Sei used that moment to strike and managed to slice Jins arm. Yiu Sei stopped and laughed, yelling so everyone could hear ¡°Even your cowardly dodging is no match for my imperial sword technique!¡° The group watching, started laughing with the prince, nobody had noticed the pepple that hit Jins face. Jin felt his anger surge, what a despicable and cowardly act he thought. Suddenly Jin moved with twice the speed he had been using towards Yiu Sei. Yiu Sei saw Jin coming straight for him and slashed his sword diagonally towards Jin, but Jin just went right through the sword and shocked everyone present even his grandfather couldn¡¯t belive it. Jin looked Yiu Sei in the eyes and said under is breath, so the only one to hear him was Yiu Sei. ¡°You are nothing more then a coward.¡° He then hit Yiu Sei in the chest with his emperor flowing palm turned around and moved towards his grandfather. Yiu sei was scared and shocked, but had used his rank 1 earth armor the moment Jin moved through his sword and called him a coward. Yiu Sei saw Jin walking away and screamed ¡°Look who is walking away you didn¡¯t even hurt me, you are the coward running away, your not¡° Yiu Sei could not finish what he was screaming as he suddenly collapsed and coughed up a mouthful of blood, not moving. Nobody understood what had happened, everyone ran towards the prince screaming. But one person moved away from the commotion it was Jin, he walked towards his grandfather ¡°grandpa Yi lets leave.¡° he said without looking back. Magic The empire Jin lives in dosn¡¯t care much for magicians as it is a warrior empire, there are not much about magic spells and history of magic in the Sun empire, but who knows whats outside of the Sun empire or hidden inside. Mental age Jins mental age should be 31 but his social intellegence is far from it he spent his first 21 years learning and training himself and others, he didn¡¯t have a normal childhood being out playing with other children, making friends and interacting with other children his age. The time spent in the Sun empire is no different. He is higly intelligent but his emotional intellegence is not that high Bandits Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. When Jin met the bandits he had no battle experience never had an arrow sticking out of his shoulder before, you could be any martial artis but if one shoots an arrow trhough your shoulder and a group with weapons runs towards you. The bandits only saw Jin fall down the cliff they didnt see him entering the cave. Mage/Warrior I am not trying to change the mc to a warrior in the following chapters you will see what i am planing for the mc. Jins father Yi chu is the bodyguard/trainer to the imperial princes and as such does not spend much time at home. When jin was born without a dantian his father kinda lost interest as he couldn¡¯t be a warrior even as a mage he is just slightly higher then humans on the food chain. Again i want to thank everyone that has helped me out with the story and everyone that has commented. I appreciate all comments, keep them comming. If you have other questions post them and i will try answering as fast as i can..................... A new teacher A new teacher The carriage was leaving from the entrance of the Yi clan, inside Jin and his grandfather sat in silence. Jin was thinking about the spar he had with the second prince, and how he had been wounded. I don¡¯t have enough experience i should have seen it comming not everyone fights fair. Jin shook his head Grandpa Yi who had been watching Jin the whole ride, saw Jin shaking his head and asked him in a caring tone ¡° whats wrong?¡° Jin looked up to see his grandfather smiling and answered ¡°Ahh, nothing really i am just angry at myself for getting hurt, i was to focused on father to notice the pepple someone threw in my face.¡° ¡°I understand, but you can think of it as experience gained. From now on, even if you are in a one on one duel, always be aware of your surrondings.¡° Grandpa Yi said, making it a teachable moment. Jin looked at his grandfather with determination and answered ¡°I will¡° Jin continued to look at his grandfather and asked. ¡° I was also wondering who is this friend of yours that will be my teacher?¡° ¡°Wait and see¡° Grandpa Yi answered. Jin continued to ask, and question who his first real teacher would be, but his grandfather continued to answer. ¡°Wait and see.¡° ¡°Is it a man or a woman.¡° Jin asked ¡°Wait and see¡° Grandpa Yi replied ¡°Is she young or old¡° Jin asked ¡°Wait and see¡° Grandpa Yi replied ¡°So it is a woman then, what rank ?¡° Jin said with a cunning smile looking at his grandfather. ¡°You little rascal, tricked me didn¡¯t you¡° Grandpa Yi said before starting to laugh. Jin just smiled, he had missed spending time with his grandfather, seeing him smile and laugh. He enjoyed every minut he spent with grandpa Yi, but knew they soon would part. He had managed to convince himself it was neccesary, both so he could get stronger and because everyone thought he was dead and there was no place for him at the Yi clan. After Jin managed to trick his grandfather into revealing it was a woman, grandpa Yi decided to tell him something. ¡°Ok i will tell you about your new teacher.¡° Grandpa Yi said helplessly looking like a defeated old man. ¡°Lets see i met her many years ago when i was out traveling, she was attacked by some bandits and i saved her life so she now owes me. At first i wanted her to teach you magic, but she refused and said she would only train a warrior. Oh i forgot, she is a warrior, but well versed in magic and medicine¡° ¡°Why didn''t she want to teach me magic¡° Jin asked with a big question mark across his face. ¡°I really don¡¯t know, im sure you¡¯ll find out eventually. Even if she wont teach you magic, You can sneak a peek in her books. Nobody says you can¡¯t read up on it yourself.¡° Grandpa Yi answered Jin looked at his grandfather, nodded and said ¡°ok¡° Jin continued to ask about the woman to become his new teacher. ¡° Grandpa Yi whats her name and is she pretty?¡° Grandpa Yi stopped the carriage opened the door and walked outside to spit on the ground *ptui* then he stomped on his spit tree times and said ¡°Her name is old hag and you wonder if she is pretty she was and old hag when i saved her and she is an older hag now¡° Jin was first shocked by his grandfather, but then Jin started to laugh. Grandpa Yi jumped in the carriage sat down and looked a little embarrassed. Grandpa Yi hit the roof two times and the carriage started to move again. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. After a while of silence Jin looked at his grandfather and was just about to ask him something when the carriage stopped, and the coachman yelled ¡°we are here¡° The carriage had stopped at the city gates, when Jin stepped out of the carriage he asked his grandfather why they had stopped at the city gates, grandpa Yi explained he didn¡¯t want anyone to know where they were going and who they met with. They walked through the streets of the imperial city looking at the different stands of clothes, weapons, jewellery and everyday items such as mirrors and makeup. Grandpa Yi showed him the adventurers guild, merchant guild, craftmans guild and a place called the tower, the tower was a place full of elite assasins that took any job if the pay was good enough. They countined to walk through the streets, when Jin stopped, looked towards a stand that sold jewellery walked over and picked up a beatiful hairpin formed like a phoenix, carved out of green jade. When Jin saw the green jade hairpin, Jin immediately thought of his mother, he didn¡¯t know why, he just did. Jin asked the woman who was currently talking with another customer, if he could by the hairpin with gold as he had alot of it, but no currency. The woman was suprised as it was unusal for a boy walking around with gold and not currency, but she quickly answered him. ¡°Yes it is possible, can you show me the gold you have?¡° Jin flicked is wrist and a chunk of gold appeared in his hand the size of a babys fist. The woman said with a suprised tone as she was a little shocked that such a young child had a spatialring. ¡°Half is enough for the harpin¡° Jin thought about it for a moment, but didnt want to use his black wind or magic to cut it. That would only draw more attention to him then he already had, so he gave the woman the whole chunk took the hairpin and walked back to his grandfather. Everyone around the marketplace that was looking at Jin with not so good intentions, quickly changed their mind when they saw who Jin was walking beside. Grandpa Yi looked at Jin and said in a stern voice ¡°Jin when you are alone you shouldn¡¯t flash around that spatial ring, it is not something common and it attracts the wrong kind of people.¡° ¡°I understand, i will keep it in mind for the future¡° Jin said in an apologetic tone Grandpa Yi laughed and said ¡°Good, its good you understand. By the way the hairpin you bought is it for your mother, or did you find a girl in the cave?.¡° Then he started laughing again. Jin looked at his grandfather with a sour look and `replied ¡°Of course it is for mother, when i saw it i felt it was made for her, should we go buy another one so you can give it to my new teacher?.¡° Grandpa Yi stopped and screamed ¡°Ah you little rascal, you don¡¯t know whats good for you¡° They countinud to walk and joke with each other and every now and then you could see grandpa Yi stop, spit on the ground, then he would stomp on the ground tree times. They soon arrived at a resturant, walked inside sat down at a table and ordered some dishes and some wine. While waiting for the food to arrive Jin gave his grandfather the silver ring and said ¡°Grandpa Yi, this is the ring that belonged to Yi Wei Bo. I left most of the weapons, gold and silver. It also contains a big chunk of black ore, enough for two swords and then some. Could you maybe make me a new sword the same as yours?¡° Grandpa Yi took the ring and bound it in blood, then he looked inside the ring. You could see he was suprised, but also very happy, he answered Jin with a smile and a warm tone ¡°Of course i can, when my friend arrives in the city again i will have him make you one.¡° As the dishes was served and they started eating, a mature woman with pretty facial features, wearing a light green dress with waist lenght black hair, holding a hidden sword in her right hand, walked towards them and said in a lovely voice ¡°Old man is this the boy?¡° Meeting Guan-Yin Meeting Guan-Yin Jin looked at the woman moving towards the table, while his grandfather confirmed Jin was indeed the boy she would be looking after. ¡°The old hag¡° Jin blurted out confused, and stared at his grandfather to confirm the woman was his new teacher the old hag his grandfather had mentioned. Suddenly something hit Jins head, followed by the voice of the woman ¡°who is an old hag?¡°. Grandpa Yi quickly replied in a hurried voice shaking his head ¡°no, no, he didnt mean you. Its someone else, yes thats it, somone else we was supposed to meet. Join us so we can discuss what happens next¡° Jin was about to introduce himself when grandpa Yi cut him of and pointed towards hm saying. ¡° This is the boy i was telling you about, he is the grandson of a good friend of mine, and almost like my own grandson, please teach him well.¡° Jin looked at the woman, cupped his hand. ¡° This junior greets teacher¡° Jin said looking at his new teacher. The woman answered ¡°No need for formalities, my name is Guan-Yin¡° After the introduction, they discussed Jin leaving with Guan-Yin the next day. Soon the conversation drifted to other subjects and as more and more wine was consumed at the table, Jin felt it was time for him to leave, he stood up walked to his grandfather, bendt down and whispered in his ear ¡°Grandpa Yi i will go find a room in a inn or do we need two rooms?¡° After those words Jin quickly ran towards the exit without looking back. Jin walked to the nearest inn and paid for a room for one night, then asked them to deliver the key and room number to his grandfather. Jin decided he would walk around the city before his grandfather would come to the inn. As he walked around and looked at all the people, he would occaisonally take out the green jade hairpin to look at and think of his own mother. Where is she, is she find, what will happen when she returns, should i tell her about father or not. Not that i care what happens to him at this point, but mother would she be hurt. While he was thinking, he had wandered into an alley and didnt notice the presence of five unsavory characters. They had followed him, after wtnessing his spatialring and the gold chunk he gave to the woman as payment for the green jade phoenix hairpin ¡°Hey boy, if you want to live leave the ring and scram¡° One of the men who had followed Jin said. He looked like the leader of this group. Jin scanned the area and saw a group of five older men, by the muscles and weapons in their hands, Jin could safely assume they were all warrior cultivators. Jin could only sense the warrior rank from two of the men that were around rank 3, but the other three he had no idea. Jin could not get any feelings from them at all, but they shouldnt be to far apart in ranks, Jin was sure about that. Jin looked at the group with a sly smile on his face and said: ¡°A group of warriors ranked from three to five wants to rob me, do you have the ability?¡° The group of five looked at each other and laughed. ¡°You¡¯re only a rank 1 warrior, why wouldn¡¯t we have the ability. The leader spoke with a angry growl The group of five didn¡¯t question how a mere rank 1 warrior could tell their own warrior ranks, as it was common knowledge you could only tell one rank above your own. Jins plan was successful, he had managed to get the group into revealing the information he needed about their ranks from their own actions. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Jin flicked his wrist and black wind appeared in his hand, with two quick moves, he threw out two wind blades. The two rank 3 warriors in the front looked at jin with unwillingness and regret in their eyes, as one red line appeared on both their necks and their heads fell to the ground. The remaining three Warriors looked on with shock at the situation unfolding in front of them not beliving their own eyes on what had happened. The leader quickly came back to his senses and ordered the two remaining warriors to attack. They looked at each other raising their weapons and ran towards Jin. Jin looked calm, not a bit of hesitation as he stomped his leg on the ground and a dozen earth spikes pierced the two warriors feet. Jin quickly attacked the leader with regular wind blades as he sped towards the leader. Jin went through the last standing warriors sword like it wasn¡¯t even there, just like he had done with the second prince. The difference this time was his palm smashed into the face of the warrior, and before he could strike a second time, Jin had jumped back to a safe position. All this had happened in the time it took to take a few breaths. Jin looked at the leader of the warriors with a smile on his face as the leader started screaming in pain, blood leaked from his eyes, ears, mouth and nose, he then fell to the ground lifeless. He looked back at the last two warriors trying to crawl away to safety. Jin gathered air in his hands and he threw two wind blades at the back of the warriors heads, splitting them apart. Jin knew he had been lucky that the warriors he fought was taken by suprise and had underestimated him. Jin buried the corpses in the alley with his earth magic. After the fight with the warriors he had gained some insights to his fighting style, and knew he needed a scabbard for his black wind. If he had a scabbard, he could easily send of wind blades the moment he drew his katana, and he wouldn¡¯t need to carry it in the spatialring. Jin walked to the nearest blacksmith shop, entered and put his katana on the table. Jin looked at the man who seemed to be the owner, and asked: ¡°Can you make a scabbard for this sword, also the scabbard must be black and attached to the back of a belt horizontally¡° The owner of the shop picked up the sword, measured the sword and answered ¡°That will not be a problem, you can come pick up the scabbard in three days.¡° Jin looked at the shop owner and said in an apologetic tone: ¡°I am sorry, but i will be leaving tomorrow morning and need it ready by then.¡° ¡°If you want it finished by tomorrow, i will have to stay up all night to make it.¡° The shop owner replied. Jin pulled out another baby fist sized gold chunk and handed it to the owner, saying: ¡°I hope that won¡¯t be a problem?¡° While looking at the shop owner. After the shop owner saw the chunk of gold a happy expression could be seen on his face, and the tone of his voice changed to a more respectful one as he answered Jin. ¡° No problem sir, you can come pick the scabbard up tomorrow. I will spend all night on it, to assure you are satisfied¡° Jin just nodded his head turned around and left. Jin was tired and decided to walk back to the inn to sleep, he knew tomorrow would be a tiersome and long day. The training begins The training begins When Jin arrived in the room he and his grandfather was staying in, his grandfather was already waiting for him with a serious expression. Whats wrong. Jin thought, but before he could ask, his grandfather said: Jin come sit down, there are something we must discuss before you leave tomorrow with Guan-Yin.¡° Jin nodded his head, walked towards the table in the corner of the room and sat down. Looking at his grandfather he asked: ¡°Grandpa Yi what is it?¡° Grandpa Yi looked back at Jin with his serious expression and tone and answered Jin. ¡°Jin tomorrow when you leave, i will go back to the Yi clan and meet with the elders i trust. We will discuss the book of Yi Wei Bo you found in his hiding place. I will not tell them about you, and i havent told the your new teacher the old hag either, i said your name was Dewei and your the grandson of a good friend¡° Grandpa Yi gave Jin a peice of paper and said: ¡°Jin on that paper is the address to one of my most trusted man, he is in charge of my information network and messengers. Trough him we can keep in contact. When your mother returns, i will send him a message and you just have to reply through him and we can meet.¡° Jin put the piece of paper in his spatial ring, looked up to see the apologetic look on his grandfathers face and said: ¡°Don¡¯t worry Grandpa Yi, we will meet when mom returns. Then we can decide what to do from there.¡° A half smile returned to his grandfathers face, and in a warm and caring tone Grandpa Yi said: ¡°Jin you need to look after yourself and learn as much as you can. She will pick you up at the city gates after breakfast. I will leave tonight, you go and get some sleep.¡° Jin just nodded his head, gave his grandfather a big hug and whispered ¡°I love you grandpa Yi.¡° Grandpa Yi hugged Jin back, and squezzed him tight for several breaths of time before Jin was released and replied ¡°I love you to¡° Jin walked to the bed and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. The next day when he woke up, his grandfather had already left. Jin cleaned himself up, put on a new set of clothes and left the inn walking towards the blacksmith. On the way Jin bought some food thinking: I really need to find somewhere to exchange all this gold and silver to regular currency. Jin arrived at the blacksmith and picked up the scabbard. It was ecxactly what he wanted, happy with the work of the blacksmith he promised if he needed something he would come to his shop first. Finished with his errands, Jin walked towards the city gate, and on his way he saw the auction house and thought: I am sure i can exchange my gold and silver for currency here, in worst case, ill just sell it. I don¡¯t have the time right now so ill do that when i return. Jin countinued to walk towards the city gates, Jin thought he had arrived early when he spotted Guan-Yin. ¡°Teacher!¡° he yelled, as he sprinted towards Guan-Yin Guan-Yin just looked at him and said ¡°hurry we are late¡° ¡°Late? Late for what¡° Jin asked Guan-Yin didn¡¯t answer, she just jumped on a horse told Jin the other horse was his. Jin looked at her, but decided not to say anything and jumped on the other horse that was prepeared and followed. They rode for the entire day, just stopping to eat. It was getting darker, Guan-Yin decided to set up camp, meaning Jin would set up camp and gather water and firewood. After the camp was set up Jin asked again ¡°where are we going?¡° Finally Guan-Yin decided to answer ¡°We¡¯re heading to a location that is perfect for how i want to train you, you¡¯ll train under my guidance and we¡¯ll see how far you¡¯ll get¡° They travelled for several days, only stopping to eat and sleep. One morning they reached their location. In front of Jin was a beatiful sight, a big massive forrest viberant green colors as far as he could see ¡°Lets go, we will be staying in this forrest for awhile. ¡° Guan-Yin said and disappeared between the trees, Jin quickly followed behind trying to keep up. After several hours later, Guan-Yin stopped, turned around and walked towards Jin. On the way towards Jin some bells appeared in Guan-Yins hand, when she reached Jin she started to tie them around Jins body. Confused Jin asked her. ¡°What are you doing?¡° Guan-Yin looked at Jin and answered: ¡°I am sure the old man told you about the tower, as and elder of the tower and a assassin, i will be training you as i would train another assassin¡° Jin looked a little confused, but continued to listen, ¡°Do you see the cave? your first task will be to get to the cave without the bells ringing. Everytime i hear a bell, well you will see.¡° Guan-Yin said with a smile on her face. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. After Jin started moving, the bells started ringing, in the next second daggers were flying towards him. Jin fell to the ground avoiding the daggers and could see Guan-Yin smiling at him. This continued for days as he inched closer and closer towards the cave. During this time Jin had managed to reach rank 3 as a mage and a warrior. Jin was already at the peak of rank 2 as a mage during the fight he had with the warriors in the city, and because of the amount of elemental essence he could gather, he easily broke through to rank 3 as a warrior in four nights. One week passed as he tried to move without the bells giving of any sound, and at night he would only sleep a couple of hours to keep up with his cultivation. Finally he had reached the cave and could now move effortlessly through the shrubs and bushes without making a sound. ¡°One week thats amazing, to grasp how to move your body without making the bells give of any sound in such a short time. I am thouroughly impressed.¡° Guan-Yin said in a impressed tone. Guan-Yin quickly moved on to the next part of her training, saying: ¡°Now lets start training your senses, walk into the cave and stay there until i say you can come out.¡° Jin walked into the cave, and the deeper he went the darker it got, untill he couldn¡¯t see anything. ¡°Stop.¡° A voice said, Jin was sure it was guan-Yin, but he was so far into the cave that the voice had been warped as it reached him. Jin stopped and thought: What is gonna happened next. When suddenly a small pepple hit him hard in the head, he felt his own blood dripping down the side of his face. Jin screamed angerly ¡°What the hell are you doing.¡° When another pepple flew towards his head, Jin barely managed to dodge. ¡°Temper¡° The voice said. ¡°You must feel your surrondings, always stay alert. ¡° The voice explained. Another pepple flew towards him, hit him straight in the temple and Jin passed out. Jin woke up the next day all healed and refreshed, Jin couldn¡¯t see Guan-Yin anywhere and decided to practise. Jin drew the katana out of his scabbard in one swift motion, a wind blade flew at the target he had picked, a tree no more then ten meters away. Jin continued to train with black wind and and his wind blades and was satisfied with the progress he had made. Tommorow i need to start training my earth magic, i also need to find a new offensive earth spell. I must look through the books i havent read yet. Jin thought when Guan-Yins voice interuppted him. ¡°Back to the cave¡° Jin walked into the cave. As soon as he reached the deepest part, Jin was prepared for another pepple coming his way. but nothing happen. Jin waited for several hours before the first pepple hit him, and then nothing. Fifty minutes later a new pepple hit him. Jin got angrier and angrier, then the same voice he heard yesterday said to him. ¡°You can¡¯t just concentrate, you have to feel your surrondings, the slightest change in the wind, a sound, a breath, feel it and you can avoid it.¡° Another pepple flew straight in the back of his head bouncing of the cave wall, knocking him unconscious. The next day when he woke up healed and ready to go, Guan-Yin was gone again. Jin prepared breakfast as he forgot to eat yesterday. While Jin was eating, he thought back to what the voice had told him. ¡°Feel the wind, a breath, a sound.¡° Jin was sure that as a air and earth mage he should be able to feel the ground and the wind. Jin was trying to feel everything around him, from the wind, to the ground. Jin was sitting there meditating, after a short time he managed to feel what was happening around him. He felt somthing give of slight virations in the ground and got a clear picture of some ants dragging some food over the ground, Jin threw a wind blade and felt it go trough the air, but dissapeared after ten meters. Nice i can feel everything around me up to ten meters the stronger i get the longer my range. Jin thought and opened his eyes to see Guan-Yin sitting right in front of him staring. Guan-yin stood up and said ¡°Time for the cave.¡° Jin was suprised, and as he walked to the cave he was thinking: How could she get so close without me sensing anything. Jin remembered that she was an elder assasin, and that sneaking up to someone without them noticing her presence shouldn¡¯t be a problem for anyone in that line of work. Jin entered the cave, reached the deepest part and this time he was ready. Jin dodged everything and moved around the cave, Jin could sense anything appearing ten meters away and not a single pepple hit him. After a whole day of dodging everything Guan-Yin threw at him his range had extended to 13 meters. I must be at the peak of rank three. Jin was thinking with a smile on his face. ¡°It only took you three days, i am very impressed. I would have thought it would take you at least two months maybe even longer. I need to get something from the city, you stay here untill i return.¡° Guan-Yin said and left. Jin looked at Guan-Yin disappearing behind the trees and thought it is time i start with my magic training. The white Fox Running silent through the forrest, hunting and training his own magic on small and big animals, Jin saw a small white fox looking animal speeding through the forrest. So he decided to follow silently, Jin stopped on top of a tree, looking down on the animal running passed him. While watching the White fox he saw another animal, this animal was chasing the white fox and it looked something like a boar. The boar was three times the size of the white fox, but just as fast as it had no problems keeping up with the spedding white fox. The white fox dissapeared down a foxhole. The boar was to big to follow, but it started to trample and stomp the ground around the foxhole trying to get in. The foxhole collapsed, Jin could see from the top of the tree he was sitting in the white fox standing in front of some kind of small white balls hudled together. From his point of view It looked like the white fox was guarding against the boar. He knew the white fox was in trouble, so he decided he would help, but just as the boar started charging and Jin was ready to jump down to help the white fox something happened. The white fox¡¯s body became black and got bigger, about the same size as the boar, its muscles got toned, more defined, its teeth and claws got bigger, longer and the white fox¡¯s tail transformed to something lokking like a morningstar. Jin was shocked, he had read about the white fox, but not the black beast that stood infront of the boar. Interesting. Jin thought as he looked at the scene unfolding. Nobody knew much about the white fox, what he had read was just about the white fox¡¯s apperance and that they were a very rare breed of foxes. The black giant fox that now stood infront of the boar, seemed to be smiling cunningly. Jin knew the boar was outmatched and that the black fox could rip the boar into pieces. Jin saw how the black giant fox decimated the boar as it smashed its tail through the boars head and at the same time it ripped through the boars body. The time it took for the black giant fox to finish the boar wasn¡¯t even one second. After witnessing the complete destruction of the boar, Jin decided to leave as he thought about the white fox. He felt wierd, after thinking about taking one of the cubs to train as his own pet, Jin felt a knot in his stomach. Jin couldn¡¯t understand why, when he had killed the five warriors he didn¡¯t feel anything, but the thought of taking away the cub made him sick. ¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è¡è Guan-Yin was thinking about Jin as she was running towards the city. That kid is an extremly fast learner, I was thinking we would at least stay four months or more before we returned. Wonder what his connection to that old man Yi is, probably one of his bastards running around. But that kid I am sure i aslo saw him use magic. This story has been taken without authorization. This was his fourth day without Guan-Yin present. Every day before today, he had practised his magic and stealth skills. In the morning he was out hunting and training, and when he returned to his camp he would start to meditate, but not tonight, tonight it was impossible. He was sitting in front of the fire watching the flames, thinking about what he had witnessed. He wanted to know more about the white fox and what it really was. The next day when Jin woke up he decided to go back to the place he first saw the white fox, Jin started running as he threw windblades and shot earthspikes from the ground. When he arrived where he first saw the white fox, he sat down on a branch covered with leafs and hid his presence, waiting. After hours without seeing the white fox, Jin decided to look where he had seen the white fox become the black giant fox. He rushed towards the foxhole and when Jin arrived at the scene of the battle between the boar and the black giant fox had taken place, he saw the caved in foxhole in the ground, but couldnt feel any presence. They must have left to another safer place. Jin thought and decided to leave. Just when Jin turned to leave he felt a fluctuation, a subtle movement, he started digging in the ground and saw a little white baby fox cub. Some of the earth and rocks had buried the little white baby fox and it had almost stopped breathing. When he picked up the white baby fox cub he could feel some of the bones in the body of the baby white fox cub was broken and how weak it was, Jin hurried back to the camp carrying the white fox cub as gentle as possible. When Jin returned to the camp he made a hole in the ground next to the fire place, lined it with clothes, he then lit a fire and warmed up some water. After the water was warm enough, he smashed some medicine pellets that he mixed with the warm water and he poured it into a bottle. Jin tried to feed the little white baby fox guiding the medicine around its body with elemental essence. Now he could to nothing, but wait as he monitored the little white fox cub. Jin sat up all day and by the time night fell, the little white baby fox was starting to improve. The little white baby fox cubs life essence was getting stronger and its internal wounds and bones was healing, but the white baby fox was still weak, Jin had to spend the next days carefully taking care of the little white baby fox. Betrayal Betrayal Grandpa Yi was sitting on a chair inside the Yi clans main hall reading a letter, the letter was delivered by one of his trusted spy¡¯s, out looking for Jin¡¯s mother Yi Jun. A smile was forming on his face and he stood up and screamed. ¡°Ready my carriage¡° One of the Yi clans retainers came running to grandpa Yi, stopped in front and bowed answering in a humble tone. ¡° Elder Cho, I am sorry, as you asked that the carriage must be ready for you to arrive for your meeting in the city in one hour. The carriage is being cleaned and refilled now¡° Grandpa Yi looked back at his own retainer and in a dissatisfied tone said ¡°And? I am now asking to ready the carriage¡° The retainer looked back with a little fear in his eyes, answered while looking to the floor not daring to make eye contact with grandpa Yi ¡°I am so sorry elder Cho, that¡. that is not possible.¡° ¡°Not possible, hmmfph. Very well, then ready my horse or is that also not possible?¡° Grandpa Yi looked at his retainer cleary not happy about it. ¡°Yes right away elder Cho.¡° The retainer bowed as he answered, not daring to look up at the elder as he hurried out of the main hall. #################################################################### Jin was looking at the white baby fox, sleeping in the hole by the fire, as he was thinking about what he had read about the foxes on earth. I know foxes, all animals for that matter, will not be taken back by its own parents after prolonged contact with humans. Even if that wasn¡¯t the case and I could return the white baby fox, i¡¯ve been searching for that white fox everywhere with no luck. He walked towards and woke the white baby fox. He told the white baby fox in a soft qiuet tone. ¡°Hi little baby fox, I am sorry, but I can¡¯t find your parents so I will be the one to take care of you. You know in my old world called earth. little baby foxes like you starts hunting a month after their birth¡° The baby fox made a cute little grunt, almost as the white little baby fox was telling him, I understand. Jin looked at his new companion and said. ¡°Good, lets go hunt.¡° #################################################################### Guan-Yin had just arrived at the city gates when she heard a voice. ¡° Guan-Yin¡° She turned around and saw old grandpa Yi standing there, looking at her and saying ¡°Guan-Yin where is my grandson?¡° Guan-Yin answered ¡° He is still training, why?¡° ¡°Nothing, just give this letter to my him, it is very important he reads it as soon as he gets it. Remember as soon as heg ets it.¡° Grandpa Yi said, gave her the letter and started walking away. Grandpa Yi was walking towards one of the side streets and could feel Guan-Yin staring at him. He decided to turn around to look and was met by two eyes that looked disgusted by him. Grandpa Yi yelled back ¡°Don¡¯t get the wrong idea, I am just meeting some friends¡° After he dissapeared into the side street he thought to himself: Why does she cares, and I really didnt need to explain myself, that old hag should mind her own business. After exiting the side street, he entered the Tea Pavillion Street, also known as the red light district. Everywhere his eyes looked, he would see beautiful women, all standing around in revealing clothes, some more than others. Women, one after another, the next more beautiful then the last approched him pressing their own small and big advantages on him asking if he wanted to join them for some tea. Grandpa Yi shook his head and answered while wiping of the sweat on his forehead ¡°Sorry ladys i am going to the pavillion tea house to meet with some friends¡° This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. As he entered the famous pavillion tea house, a sweaty short old man with beady eyes welcomed him in a greedy high pitched voice. ¡°Welcome to the pavillion tea house¡° After the beady eyed short sweaty old man saw it was Grandpa Yi he got a little nervous, but quickly got a hold of himself, shouting. ¡°Mei come take care of the esteemed elder and show him to his room.¡° Grandpa Yi noticed the short beady eyed sweaty man was a little nervous, but paid it no mind as a young beautiful women, no more then twenty with long silky black hair and perfect white skin walked out in a beautiful silk kimono, revealing not only her cleavage and slender long legs, but a seductive smile. Looking at grandpa Yi with her beautiful two green eyes saying ¡°Follow me esteemed elder¡° in a sweet suducting tone. The suductress that was this lady, lead grandpa Yi through a small hallway towards the back of the tea house, grandpa Yi suddnly felt something wasn''t right, as he thought about how the beady looking, short, sweaty man, was a little nervous for a second. Then it was this beautiful women infront of him, why was she hiding her presence, almost as she wasn¡¯t even there. When suddenly the scent of fresh blood traveled towards him. The beautiful women looked down and saw a sword sticking out of her stomach, she turned her head just to see grandpa Yi holding the sword. The beautiful seductress looked at grandpa Yi with her beautiful green eyes, no longer beautiful, but filled with anger and hate. When he pulled out the sword grandpa Yi chopped of her head with one swift motion. By the time it took for the seductress head to hit the floor, grandpa Yi had already arrived at the door and opened it. This was the room were he was supposed to meet the other elders he of the Yi clan he trusted. They all shared the knowledge of their ancestors book and now he was the only one left. What met his eyes when he opened the door was nothing more than slaughter, every one of the elders that was there, either still sitting on a chair or just laying on the floor, the one thing they all had in common was that they were all dead. One thought popped up in his head betrayed, betrayal, but who?. Clang clang clang Three flying daggers was on the ground and three black clothed men was walking out of the shadows, ready to attack. Grandpa Yi looked at the black clothed men standing there, he stomped his fot on the floor and the three flying daggers all flew up. He kicked each of the daggers towards his attackers, as the daggers returned to their previous owners grandpa Yi also made his move. He attacked the closest assassin with his piercing the sky technique. The wall shattered as the assassin flew through the wall landing on the other side. The two remaining assassins had already engaged grandpa Yi as the first assassin flew through the wall, landing on the otherside with a thump. The assassin that flew through the wall did not sustain any heavy injuries as he stood up ready to join the battle When he saw that grandpa Yi had no trouble defending against the two other assassins he also flew into action and attacked grandpa Yi from the side. Grandpa Yi was now boxed in, he had no problem defending against the three assasins, but the assasins also had no problem defending against him. They were at a standstill and grandpa Yi decided the only way was to escape, he couldnt risk reinforcements comming. He fought his way towards the window and managed to jump through. Just as he thought he was free, he looked up to see twenty imperial warriors standing in front of him with their weapons drawn. Framed Framed Grandpa Yi looked up to see twenty imperial warriors standing in front of him, with their weapons drawn. The captain of the twenty imperial warriors stepped forward, looking down on this elder from the Yi clan screaming. ¡°For the crime of killing five elders of your own Yi clan, plotting against the Imperial family and the Sun Empire. The sentence is death for both you and your family. Elder Yi Cho follow me to the imperial palace and recive your sentence.¡° Grandpa Yi looked back at the captain and the imperial warriors, he summoned his earth armor as he charged towards the left side of the twenty warriors, knocking some of the warriors to the ground. The group of warriors were all taken by suprise, they never belived that anyone would do what grandpa Yi did, including the captain. The captain thought that infront of him and his mighty warriors, elder Yi Cho would give up and surrender. The captain and his warriors were all wrong. The captain quickly realised his mistake as he shouted to his imperial warriors to attack, but it was to late grandpa Yi had already escaped. They could not belive what had happened, infront of them was one man, already tired. It should have been easy, but the old man still had strength left and he used his experience to weed out the easiest point to break through. The captain and his warriors could do nothing but see their target escape, they now had no other choice, but to alert every guard in the city and the palace about Elder Yi Cho. The crime of one of the elders of the Yi clan was soon spread throughout the city. ############################################################# Somewhere inside the imperial palace. A man dressed in black with a golden mask was sitting on something like a throne, three men all dressed in black clothes with covered faces entered the room and kneeled in front of the man on the fake throne with the golden mask. They were the three assassins that had killed the five elders of the Yi clan and tried to kill elder Yi Cho. ¡°My liege¡° They all said unanimously as they kneeled and raised their right hand infront of their chest. ¡°How did it go?¡° The man in the gold mask asked. ¡°We killed the five elders of the Yi clan meeting with elder Yi Cho, but Mei was killed and elder Yi Cho managed to escap. ¡° One of the assassins acting like the leader answered. ¡°He escaped!¡° the man in the gold masked screamed looking at the assassins with fire in his eyes and his fist banging on the fake throne. ¡°Yes, but he has been framed for the murders of the five elders. ¡° The assassin meekly asnwered. ¡°Good, what about the book? Did you get the book?¡° The man in the gold mask asked as he calmed down and the fire burning in his eyes dissapeared. ¡°Sorry my liege, we couldn¡¯t find it on any of the body¡¯s. Elder Yi Cho must still have it on him. ¡° The assassin now clearly afraid, answered as he tried to avoid eye contact with the man in the gold mask. Did you know this story is from Royal Road? The man in the gold mask walked to the assassin graped his throat and strangled him to death, dropped his now lifeless body to the ground with a thump. The two other assasins just stood there to afraid to move a muscle, hoping they would not be next as they looked at their former leader dead on the floor right infront of them. ¡°You.¡° The man in the gold mask said, pointing to the assassin closest to him signalling him to come forward. ¡°Yes my liege¡° He answered while bending one knee and raising his right arm to his chest, afraid, but what else could he do. The man in the gold mask looked at him closely which made a chill run down the assassins spine and said ¡°You will now be the leader of the shadow core of the imperial palace, no more mistakes.¡° ¡°Yes my liege.¡° The assassin answered still bending the knee with his right hand raised to his chest no longer feeling the pressure from before. The man in the gold mask returned to his fake throne as he sat down, he said in a chilling tone. ¡°You may leave¡° The two assassins dissapeared into the darkness, leaving the man in the gold mask alone, sitting on his fake throne looking into the darkness smiling behind his mask. ############################################################## Grandpa Yi had managed to escape from the imperial warriors and their captain, he was moving qiuet and stealthly through the city, moving towards a little shop specialising in the delivery of messages. He entered the shop looked at the attendant and said. ¡°Take me to the back¡° The attendant nooded his head and lead grandpa Yi to the back, inside the empty room in the back the attentant pushed the wall and a secret passage opened up. They both entered the passage and walked to another room, there grandpa Yi sat down and wrote three letters. He looked at the attendent and said ¡°I need you to deliver this message to my youngest son, he is defending the border to the elf kingdom, this message I need someone to deliver to my other son Chu and this message must be delivered to Guan-Yin at The tower. Hurry we have no time to loose¡° After giving the messages to the attendent, grandpa Yi took what eqiupment and essentials he needed, before he left the secret room and the city. ######################################################### Inside the tower Guan-Yin was going through her books and old scrolls on magic, putting them all inside her spatial ring when she suddenly turned around, said in a cold, icy voice. ¡°show yourself¡° A man stepped out of the shadows and gave her the letter grandpa Yi wrote, before the man dissapeared back into the shadows. While Guan-Yin read the letter her face changed from a passive and frozen to a more serious one. She quickly took all she needed before she left the tower in a hurry and moved fast towards the city gates and the forrest Jin was training in.
