 Chapter 1: A New Beginning

    ? : ¡°Good god I''m tired. It''s been so long since I''ve waited for this MMO and it''s taking too long¡­.. Finally, wait who are you guys?¡±


    For some odd reason there was six other people here in the white room with me and from the looks of it, they also have no clue why where here. From my calculations there were three females and three males but the one thing that struck me was that why they were here with me on my waiting screen.


    The guy with short red hair looked at me and the rest of us and smirked but not In a evil or arrogant way. His body and looks was that of a noble rich family that a princess would dream about as prince charming. But it felt like I knew him for some reason. Then he spoke.


    ? :¡± My name not important so I''ll just say my online name that I was going to use for this game. My name will be Crimson Overlord.¡±


    Now that he said that name Crimson Overlord, he is the number 1 player of all time he was somehow good at magic,   most guns and swords and was equally capable to be considered king of games even though he used the knight profession.


    Crimson Overlord: May I ask for your names, I feel I know each and every one of you.


    ? : ¡°You made a great point of, the name I will use is Deadman.¡±


    Everyone looked at him and all smile, I was rank number 3 in the world and rank as the best sniper across the gun MMOs. Now that it comes to mind if Crimson is ranked 1st and I''m rank 3rd so the others must be in the top 7 of best players.


    Now that the others come to the same conclusion as me they all started saying their names. The first one to speak after me was a mysterious guy, and we couldn''t see his face due to his hoodie. He looked around 5¡¯5 in height and was fairly slim.


    ? : ¡°I¡¯m Specter, well that''s name I was going to use when the game start.¡±


    He''s rank 5th he''s best known as the top assassin. The next to speak up was one of the females, she looked like a student in high school she had a beautiful body that was of a women. With her hair color being white with a slight dye of sky blue covering her right eye. While on the subject of her eyes they were turquoise crystals.


    ? : ¡°This is getting interesting I think I know who everyone''s name will be but I just got to see your faces on who you were in real life. My name will be Transient Ocean.


    From my knowledge she''s the best mage across all MMOs ranking number 4 in the leaderboards. Next was a small girl that looked around 16.Her body looks delicate with her hair being pitch black what struck my attention was her eyes. They were blood red. There were many rumors about her in the last MMO about her eyes but most thought it was due to the customization feature. But we couldn''t alter our appearance yet.


    ? :  ¡°ummmmm¡­¡­¡­¡­.my name will be like it was in the last game Hrist.


    Now that I remember she''s ranked 6th and used the hidden class Valkyrie in the last game she had look like a dark knight.


    ? : ¡°My online name will be Fallen Fairy and it''s a pleasure to play with you guys again.¡±


    ? : ¡°Yeah continue off with what my sister said it''s great to meet everybody again. My name will stay as Raging Berserker.¡±


    That comment confirms my knowledge since they were brother and sister and was known across most MMOs. However they were a pair of weird siblings. There was rumors they both had a brother and sister complex and the sister would PK any girl that would attempt to talk to her brother and the same could be same for the brother with boys. I know the sister used the Cleric class she''s rank 7th while the brother used the swordsman class and he''s rank 2nd.


    We all had common knowledge about everyone here since we played a lot together. We were recognized as the top players but considered monsters. We never associated with anyone else except us. We are known for being solo players and never joining any guilds, and to be honest we were flooded with invites. With have trust issues with people that don''t share our common knowledge so players stop trying to talk to us and just fear us. We complete all raids together but did missions separately for maximum rewards unless it was too difficult.


    We were all waiting to play the new MMO and is considered to first VRMMORPG Re:Evolution Rise of the Codex .The story is in a time period where magic and swords exist in the past. Humans fight demons in the hope to find peace however half the population split didn''t believe in the church and wanted to rule the world. They were capable of finding a rare mythological Codex that gave them the knowledge to build weaponry and vehicles in our own current time however it came at a price. Most were turned into cyborg and considered themselves the superior species, so they wage war. This resulted in a new type of Maou that the humans never seen and as the kingdom and church to summon heroes to face the Maou of the demons and the Maou of the cyborgs. With the war continuing for many years¡¯ humans and demons were able to use some guns made by the cyborgs and be able to adapt to bullet damage. This was left to the new heroes to help civilization find peace.


    From my knowledge a MMO like this needs balancing and the developers stated that they will constantly update the game even while we are playing. Some classes use guns and swords but to make in favor of the swords and magic classes they have a 10% damage reduction against bullets and any melee weapon can deflect bullets if you have the reaction time. They also stated in addition to the hidden classes, you''re capable of having two main classes if you can acquire it. I''m really excited for this feature.


    Since we were the top 7 in the world we got invited to play the game 2 hours before release.


    Now all of us are waiting to play the game.


    Just now the game started and we were still together. We 7 never alter our appearance. I don''t know the reason why but none us look ugly per say. I wear glasses and have short black hair. I also am fairly slim and tall, I don''t considered myself ugly but not handsome either just average. The only reason we never seen our true appearance is because we wore helmets, hoodies or any other piece of clothing to hide our face .We made our desired names and was ready to depart our own ways until we really needed help, but then a dark figure came out.


    ? :¡± Hello dear players I''m guessing everybody got associated with each other and knows who you are. I''m this game moderator and I have a special task for you all.¡±


    Everybody: ¡°What do you mean?¡±


    Moderator: ¡°Well first off I¡¯m guessing everybody didn''t figure out that you can''t log off.¡±


    Everybody put up the start menu but didn''t see the log off, we were very calm in this situation most likely since we watch and read a lot of anime and manga.


    Moderator: ¡°Don''t worry your body won''t die. As soon as you had put the helmets on it contained a special virus that it injected into your head when you put it on. This virus is specifically made to keep you alive and feed your body in your slumber state. Also don''t worry about people taking off your helmet and you think you might die because you won¡¯t. The helmet locks onto each of your heads and won''t come off.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Don¡¯t tell me you want us to be the generic heroes that save the world and players¡¯ right.¡±


    Moderator: ¡°hahaha ha-ha ha-ha¡­¡­¡­¡­ that was a good joke but no. You 7 will be the new Maou¡¯s and the only way for the other players to leave when they start the game is to kill you. I will announce it when they start but don''t worry they won''t know any of your identities. But here''s the catch your identities will be revealed when players start to reach level 500 which is the level cap. Your task is to make an undefeatable dungeon of 20 floors before players reach 500 and be able to kill them before they kill you.¡±


    Crimson Overlord: ¡°I¡¯m guessing if we die in the game we die in real life correct?


    Moderator: ¡°Yes, however I won''t be that cruel. The maximum number people in the party is 7 however even if one person dies in the party of 7 that person wouldn''t die yet. They have a cool down to respond however if all 7 of you party dies you all die completely.

    Moderator: ¡°I was waiting for that question. Simple each and every one of you have are considered the best players and comrades towards each other.     I''m the Maou Overlord and I need you to kill people in the dungeon so I will be able to resurrect and form the 21st floor of the dungeon. More specifically I need souls of heroes in the dungeon. I already made you Maous¡¯ and can give you all three gifts. One will be giving you all duel classes in your main slot off the bat while raising your normal class to 4th tier.  Another is giving you each a unique skill or two if you¡¯re lucky. You will flip a coin heads gets two and tails gets one this will happen with classes¡¯ too. Lastly all you must pick which Stat attribute you want to raise and I will put 50 puts in it. That is all; you won''t be able to contact me until you built all 20 floors of your dungeon.


    Deadman: ¡°I have a question about dual classes can we pick a hidden profession as our second class.¡±


    Moderator : ¡° Yes and No, Once you pick one of the normal classes as your main, I will raise it to the 4th tier of which I have the power and your second profession will be granted to your play style and personality randomly.


    Hrist: ¡°Excuse me about the dungeon; do we make the bosses of each floor?¡±


    Moderator: ¡°Yes, you can make the boss however you see fit, giving the boss skills and gear depends on you. To give it skills you have to have it in a skill book and the boss will automatically learn it. As for gear just give it to it and it will put it on. Now you can also capture special hidden bosses around the world, but I won''t go into detail on how to get one.¡±


    Specter: ¡°What are the tiers of the equipment around the world?¡±


    Moderator: ¡°Grey (Poor) < White (Common) < Green (Uncommon) < Sky Blue (Rare) < Purple (Very Rare) < Silver (Legendary) < Gold (Ancient) < Platinum (Myth) < Crimson (Hell)

    Moderator: ¡°Of course, the classes are broken into two categories. Which is past and modern, each one has pros and cons which I won¡¯t point out nor will I explain each one. The past classes included Swordsman, Berserker, Knight, Archer, Monk, Water Mage, Fire Mage, Lightning Mage, Cleric and Thief. With modern classes include Sniper, Medic, Commando, Assassin, Scientist and Titan.¡±


    Moderator: ¡°Now that I explained everything, I will go down the list of ranking to see which class and amount of skills everybody will get. So everybody flip your coin.¡±


    As soon as he said that a coin appeared on all of our hands. The weird thing was we all got heads and the moderator was speechless.


    Moderator: ¡°¡­¡­¡­¡­¡­.. Ok then we''ll start from the top ranking and go down with pick classes then will be skills.¡±


    Crimson Overlord picked Knight and got the hidden unique profession Angel of War as his second class. Crimson was focusing on me and Raging Berserker for some reason not even bothering to give a glance at the others.


    Raging Berserker picked Berserker but he got a hidden unique class called War Berserker which replaced the regular berserker class.


    I picked Sniper and also got a hidden unique class Cybernetic -Phantom I was clueless about this class and Crimson smiled for some odd reason. My guess was that the top 3 players got hidden unique classes already.


    Deadman:  ¡°What''s a hidden unique class?¡±


    Moderator: ¡°T-To think three of you would actually get one. A hidden unique profession is a class that only one player can get and no one else.¡±


    Transient Ocean looks sad my guess was that there was no regular mage class. So she was restricted to an element.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°I''ll pick Monk¡±


    Everyone was pitch silence. The best mage in the world was picking a melee class that uses their fists.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Oh don''t worry about me I know how to fight. My father taught me most fighting styles my whole life in our dojo.¡±


    Then the second she said that she gained a hidden profession that was Elementalist. She looks at it and started jumping in joy. She can prove to be deadly to be able to handle close range fighting as well as casting deadly magic of all types. Specter was up and was a no brainer class.


    Specter: ¡°I want to pick the Assassin class.¡±


    Specter also got a hidden class and it was Shadow hunter. Next up was Hrist she picked Swordsman and got the hidden unique class Valkyrie this class like Raging Berserker¡¯s one also replace the 1st class. She put up a sinister smile. My guess was she really wanted that class.


    Last up was Fallen Fairy picked Cleric. She gained the hidden profession Summoner that was a rather rare set up but she will be able to protect herself.


    Moderator: ¡°...............All hidden classes huh, well let''s check the skills. Oh I forgot skills are also divided into the same way that gear was. So let''s get started.¡±


    Crimson got a two god skills [Supernova] and [Soul Resurrection].


    Raging Berserker got two Titan skills [Endless Rage] and [Dual Wielding Prodigy].


    Crimson and Berserker didn¡¯t look at the skills description but was already satisfied at the rank. They both looked at me and were dumbfounded. For some reason I got three skills all ranked Codex. [Dimensional Jump], [Phantom God Domain] and [Phantom Bullets].


    Everyone was looking at me with envy and it turns out [Phantom Bullets] is a passive skill. I''m going to wait till we go to the village before checking out the skills description.


    Transient Ocean got an Omnipotent skill which was called [Elemental Domain] and an Ancient passive skill that was [Chantless Magic].


    Specter received a Demigod skill [Mist Field] and a Titan skill [Sword Teleportation] when Specter got his Titan skill a weird symbol appeared on his left and right palm.


    Hrist received a God skill [Valkyrie Flight] and a Myth skill called [¡Þ Durability].


    Last up was Fallen Fairy she got a Legendary skill  called [ Twilight Aura ] and the last skill which shocked us since she''s rank 7th in the world is a Codex skill called [ Gaia¡¯s Domain ] I was most curious about two skills which happen to be my domain skill as well as Fallen Fairy Domain. The moderator didn''t say anything trying to make his mind come to a realization when we all received powerful skills.


    Moderator: ¡°OK last but not least which is the attributes I''ll show them all to you.

    Everyone looked at each other and knew the attribute and said in unison ¡°Luck.¡±


    Moderator: ¡°OK now you a have two hour head start before players sign in. They will only know about 7 players that can die and end the game they won''t know your names so I suggest to stay hidden. Now without further ado let''s begin.


    Everyone smiled and wasn''t worried at all for what is about to happen only that we will finally be able to have fun.

 Chapter 2: Stats

    We all were teleported to a military camp. All of us were quiet trying to figure out the events that just happened. One thing was clear though, and that was to get power before other players figure out that if they kill us they can leave the game. I for one am not ready to die yet. Crimson was looking at us not worried at all. In terms of intellect he might be smarter than all of us.


    Crimson Overlord: ¡°I''ll just say this, how about we all split up. If we come across danger that you aren''t able to win send a message to one of us.¡±


    I have to say that was a very logical answer. All of us are solo players 1st before we started playing with each other. So it only makes sense that we go our separate ways. We could still hang out for fun but right now we need power.


    Deadman: ¡°We should add each other and start to head out we only have two hours before players arrive. The game doesn''t allow us you hide our level or name. Also from the help screen you aren''t able to PK any players until level 10.¡±


    Everyone was relieved when I said that and all nodded in agreement. After we all added each other we went to do quest solo except Fallen Fairy and Raging Berserker. Since she''s a Cleric but has the Summoner class she''s going to need help to level up first.


    As I was looking around the military camp I looked at my stats

    [Heal]: Your drones can each heal your health by 25% (10 second cool down)


    The drones can¡¯t exceed a distance of 500 meters from you.

    Omnipotent [Sniper God] (LVL Max): Doubles the damage of a sniper rifle used.


    God Skill[ Long Range Killer] (LVL Max): Your shots do 25% bonus damage based your distance to the target. The further you are from your target, the greater the 25% bonus damage.

    Enemies in the Codex rarity can¡¯t be sense by pulse.


    The user can¡¯t see any skills of enemies, even if they have been sensed.


    Deadman looked at his skill list and grin. Due to his Sniper class being max out he gain a couple of helpful skills so he can solo. What pique his interest were the [Phantom] skill and the passive skill      [Support Drones].


    As seen as he looks at his stats, his body started to change. It adapted to all the skills and when looking at his hands looked like Onyx cybernetic hands. It didn¡¯t stop there his whole body was the color Onyx but only some parts of my body was cybernetic. Both his eyes became light red; he could also adjust his vision.  My chest, half my face and my bottom parts didn¡¯t become cybernetic but everything else was. Also what was weird was this strange demonic marking all across his hands. This have might have been due to him becoming a Maou.  My guess was that the Onyx color came from the phantom part. I also saw 2 drones looking at me. If I put both my hands out and made the biggest circle I could with both my thumbs and index fingers that would be their size.  They also look Onyx with a big red light for one eye. They both floated around me.


    After experimenting with the drones I found out that I can send orders telepathically. They also don¡¯t have to received orders and just free style and help me. With all my skills I was so happy.


    I went to the adventures guild to look for quests. The one that caught my eye on the bulletin board was bandit subjugation. It was rank F+, also with checking the quest of their ranks its S+ and down the alphabet   of A down to F with S being the highest. After accepting the quest I looked for others but the rest didn¡¯t related to combat so I left them alone.


    Next I check my equipment from the free manual everybody got. There is 7 pieces of equipment people can wear they are Helmets, Upper Garment, Gloves, Lower Garment, Boots, Necklace and Rings. You can only wear a limit of 2 rings and 1 necklace. There are also special clothing that players can find such as backpacks, pouches and energy shields. However pouches are only for modern classes. As for backpacks everyone by default gets 1. Its capacity is 25 items of different items with a limit of 10 of the same item before it takes a slot. Players can find new types of pouches and backpacks with special attributes like more carry capacity or affect our initial stats. Modern classes also get a default pouch. Pouches carry ammo, grenades, or special ammo. Energy shields are very difficult to find and even the shitty ones are ranked myth and above. What¡¯s cool though is that the past can also equip these to. So people that will tank can have two shields for battle.


    I checked my gear and everything was basically useless but my sniper stats were weird. It wasn¡¯t anything special but it had stats I haven¡¯t seen and the moderator didn¡¯t even talk about it.


    There are 9 types of different weapons divided in categories that modern classes can use.

    Modern Classes have a special ability to carry 3 guns. But I can¡¯t use two of the same class. So for example I pick the three guns I want and if I think of it, it will automatically appear in my hands. However I can¡¯t have two assault rifles in my main layout or any other type of gun duo. It must be three different guns in different categories.


    Past classes can¡¯t uses guns while modern classes can¡¯t use past class weapons such as swords shields staffs. However the assassin class can use swords but are limited to slim swords similar to katanas


    Guns are differentiated from each other by 8 attributes:


    Damage: The amount of damage the gun will inflict.


    Fire Rate: The number of shots per minute the weapon can fire.


    Pierce: Increase the damage inflicted by each round.


    Range: Increase the effective range of the weapon.


    Stability: Decrease weapon recoil when fire continuously.


    Reload Speed: Decreases the time it takes to reload the weapon.


    Magazine: The number of shots that can be fired before reloading.


    Maximum Ammunition: Max number of bullets the gun can hold.


    After checking everything I confirmed 10 copper coins, a piece of bread and my default sniper rifle. So I headed out to officially start my adventure.

 Chapter 3: Bandit Subjugation with some Exploring

    I was heading through the forest and spotted a village set on fire. It was my luck finally since I¡¯ve been travelling but couldn¡¯t find anything except rabbits .I started to run towards it but realize the bandits numbered around 20. So I stopped and looked at my situation. I could only deal around 100+ damage or more depending on the distance. Luckily it was night so I switch my eyesight to night vision and ran away. A sniper true advantage was the distance and staying hidden. I found a small cliff overlooking the village and was about 200 meters from the village


    I used pulse and found that it wasn¡¯t 20 enemies but 50. Also there were about 25 villagers that were highlighted blue. My pulse can figure out hostiles from non-hostiles which was pretty helpful

    These were the stats of most of the bandits. I couldn¡¯t afford to get hit it by melee attacks but I didn¡¯t have to worry. With the sky being pitch black and the sound of the fire they wouldn¡¯t hear me. Also I got a bonus that their still trying to gather all the women. There was one enemy still indoors with another villager. I didn¡¯t bother to look at his stats since he should be around the same level as the others.


    I mounted my sniper rifle on the cliff then started to aim at the bandits. Right before I started I recited the rifle men¡¯s creed


    Deadman: ¡°This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.


    My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.¡±


    As soon as I finish I saw a bandit chasing a girl and shot.

    I had almost forgotten that when I shoot two bullets come out deal double damage.  That should be around a damage of200. With the distance bonuses also that number doesn¡¯t faze me. I gave a mind order to the drones to start highlighting enemies for me to. I wanted the 5% extra damage. A cool thing about the drones highlighting is that people won¡¯t know their highlighted only me. The highlighting is only link to my eyes.


    Two bandits saw the one I shot drop down to the floor and before they could say anything I shot both of them quickly

    The drones were above the village highlighting enemies for me and no one thought that the bullets were mine but their comrades shooting people.

    I was thought this was to fun just seeing bodies drop. I started to say in my mind the halo medals when I kill multiple enemies within a short time

    Before I knew it all the bandits were dead but 1. I really wanted that 50 kill streak and luckily he stepped out of the house and was scared when he saw his comrades¡¯ dead on the floor.  Before he could act I shot two bullets which were technically 4 at him and he dropped to the floor.


    That was too easy; even though I camped I still won. I headed to the village to see if they dropped anything. But what I saw was the villagers looking at me in fear. An old man step out, I¡¯m guessing he¡¯s the leader.


    Old man leader: Young man did you just save us from the bandits?


    Deadman: ¡°Yeah, I accept a quest. This was a good warm-up though, I must thank you.¡±


    Old man: ¡°What do you mean; we just lost 10 people which were all men. This is no time for jokes.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Ok then buzzkill, I only came to see if the bandits dropped any of their gear so if you excuse me.¡±


    Old man: ¡°¡­¡±


    I checked all the bodies but no luck I went to the last body I killed and at the doorway I saw a woman around the age 25. She looked at me as a beacon of hope. I looked at her and then the body of the bandit and saw a piece of equipment on the floor.

    I was in the forest trying to figure out the next plan. I was very close to leveling to level 2. I could turn in the quest or just go out hunting monsters. With my ability of switching visions at will the darkness isn¡¯t a problem. Also due to my cybernetic features I only need around 5 hours of sleep. The time resembles 9 pm so I still had time to play. So I went to hunt monsters for fun.


    After 30 minutes of travelling I figure out that this forest has to be for beginners because no monster exceeds LVL 2. This was a shame. I killed a wandering bandit and leveled up.

    After exploring for an hour I saw a cute fox nibbling on a human¡¯s dead body. I used pulse on it

    Description: The Eternal Fox of Death is a legendary being. It is one of the 7 Omnipotent beings which is the elements darkness. It loves to feed on death and absorbs souls for dead bodies. Wandering from territory to territory it kills anything it sees. It is looking for a master to link its body so it can have purpose.


    Well looking at that I could only see death but I really wanted to hug that fox so I summon my [phantom] and sent it 200 meters away from my location just as a precaution and waited.  After it got to its location I went towards the fox but my drones were signaling me of danger but I didn¡¯t care.


    The fox notice me and was didn¡¯t do anything. It went towards me and tilted its head.  Now that I look at it closely, it has nine tails and is pure black with red eyes. Also the tips of its tails were red also. It came closer and looks at my eyes. At that moment I sat down and allow the cat to sit down on my lap. But it still stared at me and then went back to the dead body and dragged it towards me. Now the body was in front of me and the fox sat in my lap while nibbling on the dead body.


    I thought how a fox could be this dangerous but I saw the notification and saw it was dealing a damage of 0 over and over I couldn¡¯t figure out the number of 0s popping up. I think I knew how this cat deals damage and due to my phantom god blessing I¡¯m immune to the darkness element. The fox must deals continuously damage at an alarming rate.


    After the fox finished the body it looked at me tilted its head, I¡¯m guessing that the fox must be confuse I¡¯m alive.


    Deadman: ¡°Are you confuse I¡¯m alive?¡±


    The fox nodded, understanding my language.


    Deadman: ¡°I¡¯m immune to all forms of darkness so you can¡¯t hurt me.¡±


    After I said that the little fox started to lick me and seemed very happy. Luckily I didn¡¯t revealed that it can one hit KO me in physical attack or gun damage.


    The fox knew my words word true after 30 minutes and I was still alive so it took a small nap.


    After it woke up it licked me one more time and a notification pop up

After that if they want to have another one of the pets must be willing to go to sleep in you and wait to be called upon.

    This fox must be the ruler of darkness. It will be useless when it¡¯s light outside but useful when it¡¯s dark. I could still see it being useful though. As for its gift, my class restricts magic. I can still use magic but must make a chant and has to be while I¡¯m holding the gun so that the bullet does the elemental damage. However this fox allows me free magic and without chanting.


    Now all I have to do is find spells for my gun now. Modern classes have a lot of benefits but there¡¯s a downside. Since we use guns the human kingdom looks down upon heroes that use guns so players might not get any quest. We would have to go to the bulletin board to get quests. Some NPCs will give you quests but the majority wont.


    Some skills I couldn¡¯t see so I most likely will have to upgrade my intelligence to see what other skills it has. Since pets have to approve of the owner. Players can¡¯t see some of their pet skills until they reach the reachable level. Intelligence upgrades magic capacity but also improves the understanding of certain knowledge.


    With the ¡Þ backpack space I wouldn¡¯t have to worry about a limit of items being picked up. So I was extremely happy with today¡¯s results.


    It was around 3 am after I was done figuring out my thoughts and I was still level 2 so I decided to hunt for 2 more hours until I wanted to sleep.  The fox got on my head and patted me signaling me that it was ready.


    I cancel my phantom that was 200 meters away and I used pulse and found 10 enemies in the west around level 8 so I decided to head there. It took me 20 minutes to reach there but there was a problem. There were actually 13 enemies they¡¯re just patrolling. From their looks they were goblins. So I didn¡¯t really want to look at their stats because I wanted a challenge. My vision was already on night vision so I got a distance away from them so I wouldn¡¯t have to fight them head on.


    I was about 100 meters away and mounted my sniper rifle but was a little worried about the other 3. I summoned my phantom and it mounted its sniper rifle on the ground as well, waiting for my signal. I sent out my drones to start to highlight them since I want this battle to end really quickly.


    When the drones got there I shot my first bullet.

    After that number came up I was shocked that even with the double damage and double bullets also with the distance bonus and drones highlighting the number didn¡¯t even exceed 3 digits.


    That bullet aggravated the goblin that got hit but the 13 of them couldn¡¯t figure out where the shot came from. I made the decision to keep firing. I didn¡¯t want to use Ophis since I want to be independent on my own power for right now. Only if it feels I would absolutely die will I use it.


    This time I gave the order for my phantom to shoot with me and I bombarded that goblin with so many bullets.

    After that last number pop up the goblin finally dropped. From my calculations they have around 800 healths. After the 1st goblin fell the 3 I couldn¡¯t sense signal the other goblins to scatter out.


    My guess was they were going to find me by sound. I sent by phantom to the right about 100 meters away so that the bullets sounds come from 2 directions. My ammo is about 200 shots but luckily I gain bullets every 5 seconds so running out of ammo is not an option for me.

    After 40 minutes I finally dropped 10 goblins and leveled up two times. I was waiting for my drones to highlight the 3 I couldn¡¯t pulse. After the drones found the 3, they found my phantom and killed it. I still had plenty of ammo left but they were only about 100 meters away from me.   I fast than me since there size was a lot bigger than the regular goblins. So I took a gamble and shot.

    That icon popped up and that was the signal to retreat. Whatever they were doing, was trying to find me but I went to the corpses of the dead goblins. I picked up two gears and left without checking them. I wanted to get out of danger first. From the looks of it they still couldn¡¯t find me so I picked up any coins the goblins had and scrammed.


    After I got back to the encampment I check the two gears.

    I was speechless; this gear didn¡¯t help me at all. Even with 50 luck I didn¡¯t get anything good. What was bad was the stats was good but didn¡¯t work for me. So I sent a message with a screenshot to everybody to see if they wanted this.  The two that responded was Crimson Overlord and Raging Berserker. Crimson wanted the ring while Berserker wanted the pants. They both were level 3 but didn¡¯t have one piece of gear on them.


    I confirmed that no one had any luck with the gear but Fallen Fairy. Crimson, Berserk, Fallen Fairy, and Transient Ocean came to my location. What caught their eye was the fox on my head.


    Crimson Overlord: ¡°Is that your pet Deadman?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Yeah why?¡±


    Crimson Overlord: ¡°No it¡¯s just¡­¡±


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Wow that looks cute can I hug it?¡±


    I look at Ophis and it nodded its head.


    Deadman: ¡°Sure go ahead.¡±


    Transient Ocean opened its arms and the fox jumped in its arms. Transient Ocean really loved that fox and started to play with it.


    Raging Berserker: ¡°What is the rarity of that pet, it looks unusual than the typical pet.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Its rarity is Omnipotent why?¡±


    As soon as I said that everyone was looking at my pet. Crimson didn¡¯t have a comment and was speechless. Raging and everyone else looked at it with envy.


    Deadman: ¡°Do you guys want to see Ophis stats?¡±


    Everyone nodded and when I showed everybody, their eyes open wide like a Looney cartoon.

    I was shocked a sniper with these stats appeared. The problem is the recoil and the sound. Once it¡¯s shot it will make a very loud sound capable of any one finding my position. Then with the recoil I have to take my time with. Nevertheless I was still happy. RPM means rate per minute so the higher that number the faster it will shoot


    Raging Berserker: ¡°I¡¯m guessing you¡¯re happy with the gun?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Yes, I¡¯m very satisfy with the gun.¡±

    This was really helpful towards my new sniper so I at least benefited from those 2 goblin gears


    After we traded we made an agreement to stay in touch with any types of gear we encounter that we don¡¯t want. Hrist and Specter agreed as well even though they weren¡¯t here they were in a party chat with us but they were heading here. Transient Ocean was sad to depart with Ophis but Ophis didn¡¯t really care, it was extremely loyal to me for some reason.


    I do wonder why it didn¡¯t absorb the souls of the goblins but I didn¡¯t bother to ask.


    I learned that every body is level 3 except me. A full 24 hours in the game is 1 hour in real time so I decided I wanted to sleep. I decided to look at my stats first thing in the morning. I first turn in the quest and got a measly 25 points of exp and 10 copper coins. I now had 2 silver and 10 copper coins. Now the number conversion of coins is 10000 copper coins = 1 silver, 1000 sliver coin = 1 gold, 100 gold coins = 1 platinum coin. So I was lucky just to have 2 silvers.


    I went to the inn and it cost 5 copper coins a night. I was about to pay and I saw everybody heading to the inn to. They all look tired as well but more than me. They must have been straining them selves. Anyway we payed the amount and went to sleep.

 Chapter 4: Phantom Goddess & the Partner

    As I was sleeping I woke up in a palace for some reason. I was in a huge bedroom but I had no idea how I got here. I exit the bedroom and starting heading out, what I saw was twin doors close shut. When I touched the door it took a small drop of my blood and then the door open.


    When I walked through I found a beautiful girl sitting on the throne. She had long black hair with red eyes just like me. She was about my height in 5, 8. The thing that was the weirdest was that Ophis appeared to right next to her.


    Mysterious Girl: ¡°So you finally come.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Yeah I guess coming is one way, some people call it kidnapping though.¡±


    Mysterious Girl: ¡°Sorry you can call me the Phantom Goddess; I called you here because I needed to speak with you.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°I see.¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°You don¡¯t have to be suspicious of me, I came to help you. You are the Maou of the Phantoms and Death with the sin Laziness. It¡¯s only natural that I help my husband.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°I¡¯m sorry say what? ¡°


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°I don¡¯t get what you mean, but I see that your mark is forming and I came to help you by giving you information and something else to.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Ok then I have a question why did you summon me now?¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°Your pet was the reason I¡¯m able to talk to you. It was the pet of the last person with similar attribute but you¡¯re rare. You became the successor of the phantom gods which actually became extinct millions of years ago. What is remarkable is you also became the successor of death.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°I see, will this happen to my friends to?¡±


    Phantom Goddess: Yes each one of you is successors of certain gods, titans or omnipotent beings. They will be talked to when they find their pet. Even though you are all Maous you can still receive blessings or inheritance. 7 omnipotent pets which go to the 7 successors.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°You said that I¡¯m the successor of death but I don¡¯t have any blessings or skills from him.¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°That¡¯s what I called you here for I came to give you the inheritance of death. Once your friends find their pets they will get their inheritance from their associated beings


    I will grant you the passive skill [Foresight] it will be max out.

    Every level up most of your stats will go up by 10.


    Lastly you get to pick 2 skills and I will level them up by 1.¡±


    I only have 3 skills that are able to level up the rest are max out. Here blessing weren¡¯t all that helpful but I guess it¡¯s better than nothing.


    Deadman: ¡°Ok [support drones] and [phantom].¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°Ok you will see the results when you wake up I also applied the stats to the two levels you went up yesterday .Do you have any more questions?¡±


    Now that she said that I was curious on hidden attribute.


    Deadman: ¡°You said hidden attribute, what are they specially?¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°Ok, hidden attribute are special. They can only be encounter if you experience pain that have that attribute. Some can be combination of elements or something entirely different. The attribute I gave you is Spirit which mean ghosts or anything related to spirit damage can¡¯t affect you.


    You can also find codex books to be immune to certain hidden attributes but you can¡¯t find it for the regular attributes or stats.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Ok thank you, one more thing. Why did you call me husband?¡±


    Phantom Goddess: ¡°That easy because our powers are the same and we are destined lovers.¡±

    Phantom Goddess: ¡°Oh I almost forgot, I will grant your mistresses with unique classes that will serve under you. They will receive the class when they swear loyalty to you. They will never be able to hurt you ever. ¡±

    Deadman: ¡°Ok then this will be simple; I¡¯m not going to kill myself so that players can leave, they will have to earn it. My whole life has been crap and now I can make others feel how I felt in the past, who wouldn¡¯t want that. I¡¯m pretty sure I can speak for the rest of my friends in that players are going to have to kill us before we kill them. That¡¯s the only way for them to leave.


    As soon as I said that I woke up. I equip the barrette I got from Berserker with the extended mag I got from Crimson and decided to look at my stats.

    I don¡¯t know her stats but we should be able to handle the simple quests.  What I notice though was people gave her 5 quest with monster subjugation but when I wanted quest I didn¡¯t get 1, I had to go to the bulletin board. Discrimination is clearly seen in this encampment. I wonder if I should go to the cybernetic cities or towns to get better quests.


    We headed out and the closest monster we seen was level 3 goblins. Transient was looking at me but I didn¡¯t notice her and I sent out two phantoms. Both were side by side waiting for my orders next I used pulse

    Deadman: ¡°Oh, I didn¡¯t know that is that the same way for bosses?¡±


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Yes and No, if a person get the last hit they get 50% more exp while everyone else get the exp that was required for beating the boss.¡±


    That was some good information, but there has to be a catch. There¡¯s no way that the game will allow that with no penalties.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°You¡¯re thinking about the penalties right? Well the more players you have in a party the more the gear will less likely drop. So if a gear has a 25% drop rate, a party of 2 will now have 20% drop rate.¡± It decreases by 5% for every additional party member.


    Damn that¡¯s brutal, well it seems soloing is better but with the monsters high health and the benefits of respawning in a party. It would seem likely that people will party up.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Also did you get any titles?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Oh so you can get titles, no I haven¡¯t got any lets continue, how many goblins do we need to complete this quest?¡±


    Transient Ocean: ¡°About 16 more they should be near a village¡±


    I used pulse and found 2 villages north and west about 250 meters of us however no hostiles were sense. I decided to send out both drones to the villages sense we both see the same thing. The drone in the north spotted the goblins heading to the north there¡¯s a problem though so I recalled the drones and told Transient Ocean the report.


    Deadman: ¡°The goblins are heading to the north village but there¡¯s about 100 of them.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°What do you think we should do?¡±


    I know what I should do but I don¡¯t know her stats. The village is about 250 meters away. If we run we can get there in 40 minutes by running. The goblins will be there in an hour so we have 20 minutes to prepare when we get there.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient let me see your stats real quick.¡±

    Deadman: ¡°Alright lets head out, judging by the size of the group they must have a leader so we have to be prepare.¡±


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Wait how did you know about the number of goblins and direction there coming from.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Oh I forgot to tell you these 2 drones are also my eyes, whatever they see I also see. I can send them about 600 meters away from me now. Also the phantom do the same damage I do so it¡¯s like its 3 of me.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Ok that makes sense now and I didn¡¯t want to spoil the mood earlier but I can see the stats of enemies when you used your skill.¡±


    I see so party members can see my pulse, that can be helpful in the future.


    Deadman: ¡°Ok let¡¯s head out we should warn the village ASAP.

    We headed out to the village but one thing bugged me. How the hell is this quest rank grey with this difficulty? Well it¡¯s no point in arguing over spilled milk. This quest should be easy with my plan camping.

 Chapter 5: Goblin Raid (1)

    Author Note: Sorry guys took a while I had to rewrite chapter 5 and 6 and least 3 times.  This was the best I could do for action scenes for right now. Side chapter part 2 will finish Deadman¡¯s history and how he met Crimson Overlord and Raging Berserker. I will put that up Friday or Saturday with the addition of Chapter 7 when the other players hop in the game.


    Me and Transient were running our fastest and finally got to the village. A buff man with 20 soldiers came to talk to us.


    Buff Man: ¡°You heroes came out the right time; we only have about 50 soldiers and needed assistance.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Don¡¯t worry, with us and your soldiers we can beat the 100 goblins.


    The buff man look at Transient in a confuse look.


    Buff Man: ¡°I¡¯m sorry but your number is wrong, my scouts numbered around 500 goblins with a general.¡±


    Transient Ocean: ¡°What!¡±


    From that sentence this mission was basically impossible and we should leave.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Can you excuse me for one moment. Deadman what do you think can we win?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°What kind of question is that?¡±


    Buff Man: ¡°Will you help us?¡±


    Before I could say anything Transient spoke.


    Transient Ocean: ¡°Yes, we will but we require supplies.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Damn¡± (softly)


    Buff Man: ¡°Sorry we don¡¯t have any supplies but we do have 200 health potions left we gave the rest of our supplies to all to the soldiers.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Can I speak with my partner in private please.¡±


    Buff Man: ¡°Sure¡±


    The Buff man left and I looked at Transient. I didn¡¯t say anything and used [Pulse]. There was a problem he said 500 but he never said there levels. I seen the stats of the goblins and they were at least 6 types of them with the 7th being the general

    Transient was quiet after seeing their stats, there lowest goblin was at level 7. What should we do?


    ¡°Ding ¡®Siege Quest activated¡¯ players will not be able to leave until all monster have been eliminated¡±


    A red barrier formed around the village. This must be a restricted zone but how.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient what is a siege quest?¡±


    Transient: ¡°A siege quest can¡¯t be activated by players; it¡¯s like a rare event that a certain amount of monsters will eliminate a village in waves. No players can leave and no players can enter here anymore. You usually have requirements though; oh I see it look at your notifications.¡±

    I can¡¯t use [Dimensional Jump] now to leave but it should still work as long as I don¡¯t try to leave this place. We should have 15 minutes till the goblins start to come.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient ask for all the health potions and ask how many people is in this village.¡±


    Transient: ¡°Ok is there anything else.¡±


    I should know here resolve. We can¡¯t save everyone here but it wouldn¡¯t faze me if everyone dies except for us.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient we have to do anything it take to survive do you understand?¡±


    Transient: ¡°Of course I know that I¡¯m going to use the soldiers as decoys for me to attack. I only will try to save my friends no one else.¡±


    I smiled, that¡¯s exactly what I wanted to hear. She left and I started to think.


    Now the goblins are divided into 3 waves 200 consist of the regular goblins, archers and druids. This must be the scout wave to see our fighting force.


    2nd of 200 looks like the same set up but with the goblin gunners and thieves added now.


    Last wave is all types with the goblin knights and the general.


    The goblins without resistances to gun damage are a piece of cake but why do some have gun resistance. It was just like last time I encountered some and my gun barely affected them. Transient got back now.


    Transient: ¡°He gave me the 200 health potions and said there are 200 people not counting them. He said that they all barricade themselves into their houses and will wait until its safe.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°So 63 people have to survive for the bonus xp huh. Ok I got a plan, give me 10 potions and the rest goes to you. You will be the main fighting force on the ground. The bell tower up there is where I will cover you. I can summon both my phantoms to pick off any enemies I will also send 1 of my drones to protect you just in case you struggle.¡±


    Transient: ¡°What do I do with the soldiers; he gave us command of them.¡±


    You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.


    Deadman: ¡°Do what you want with them, they should be dead weight though their only level 5 with the captain being level 8. I also have a question is it possible to have a gear or a skill to block out a [Pulse]?¡±


    Transient: ¡°Yes, it should be possible it can block out certain information. Another thing is those skills require a certain amount of intelligence to. Oh and you should be careful of certain goblins with gun resistance mutations.¡±


    So that¡¯s why ok I must be careful. That general and knights must have it.


    Deadman: ¡°Wait as for the gunner?¡±


    Transient: ¡°Certain monsters can go through certain evolutions where they have the intelligence to use weapons that¡¯s more advanced than their species so the gunner must be one of them. I¡¯m guessing those guys will use assault rifles.¡±


    I can deal close to 600 damage without the drones, so this should be a piece of cake. The problem is the 2nd wave with the gunners. Since I don¡¯t know how Transient will survive, I should deal with any that holds a gun. With the 3rd wave I don¡¯t know their gun defense for the goblin knight and general I should just keep shooting until they drop.


    We have about 10 minutes left; one of my drones is over watching her so I should get in position.


    Ok I¡¯m in position the, this bell tower is the tallest building here so I should be able to see everything. Sad part is Ophis can¡¯t come out during the day and it should still be about 8 hours till night. So I have to rely on myself. I won¡¯t lose another comrade like last time. After this battle I should talk to Crimson and the others. Now that I think about it I knew Transient for 2 years now. I do consider everybody my friends or comrades now so I¡¯m willing to die for them. Looks like the battle will start soon.


    I summon both phantoms and there just waiting for my orders. My other drone will start highlighting enemies for me. So let the battles begin.


    (POV Switch Transient Ocean)


    Ok with Deadman providing cover the weak goblins should drop first I will signal the 50 troops in groups of 5s with a group of 10 to group the bell tower so Deadman doesn¡¯t get attack. Wait after this battle we would only have a couple of hours to prepare until the other players start to join.


    Ok this will be my first official battle, I¡¯m so excited. I¡¯m link to Deadman, since were in a party so if I die I should respawn next to him. Now that I think about it if a monster kills  me and I get the option to respawn what would happen to me if I get killed by a hero even if I¡¯m link to a party member, do I just die? I might have to bring this up will everybody at the end of the day.


    I should just focus on the battle; the goblins will be here in 5 minutes.


    Transient: ¡°Everybody form groups of 5.¡±


    Everybody: ¡°Understand¡±


    Transient: ¡°You 10 guard the bell tower so they don¡¯t reach my friend.¡±


    Guard: ¡°Ok¡±


    Buff Man: ¡°What should I do?¡±


    Transient: ¡°You will be with me the main fighting force.¡±


    This guy looks happy for some reason, I hope he dies first. The main force is basically suicide if it looks like we¡¯re going to die I will sacrifice as many as I need to survive. All I want is for me and Deadman to get out of this.  With his damage that appears last time the first wave should be a breeze. His drone is above me he said it could help me in this battle.


    Ok I see the goblins they look like just regulars where are the druids and archers. The regular goblins are just looking at us and why do they look organize their species are supposed to have low intelligence.


    I look closer and I see the druids enchanting the archers¡¯ arrows into fire arrows. This isn¡¯t good this will start a fire. I look at the soldier¡¯s equipment and it¡¯s all wood even their shields. This is bad, where did the goblins learn this from.  This style of war is similar to the romans.  The regular goblins all had shields and formed a rectangular wall. If they have the knowledge of the romans then if we charge they should have spears ready to launch at us.


    Looks like they¡¯re going to attack first. A barrage a fire arrow was in the sky and I didn¡¯t know what to do. Why am I so useless? Looks like it¡¯s too late I should just close my eyes and wait to die.


    Eh, why didn¡¯t I die? I open my eyes and saw 2 energy shields around me and the soldiers. I look at the bell tower and I see Deadman shaking his head. He is signaling me to attack the goblins. Wait I know since the guards know the city we can use guerilla warfare tactics. Ok now I have a plan.


    Transient: ¡°Captain signals the groups of 5 to scatter out and use hit and run tactics. You soldiers were born here you should know the alley ways and shortcuts whereas the goblins don¡¯t.¡±


    Buff Man: ¡°Ok, men did you hear the plan? Everybody lets defend this village till the last breath.¡±


    Ok next is to break their formation if their using roman tactic they aren¡¯t use to guns. Luckily I have a gun user. I signal Deadman to attack and the plan was now executed.


    I follow the captain into the alley way, he said there¡¯s a way to get behind them, we left a couple soldiers to attack the front so that the goblins won¡¯t get suspicious.  All heard though was loud shots coming from the bell tower. It seem like deadman had endless bullets. I also heard human screams so that means some of them guards must have fallen.


    Ok we finally got behind the goblins and I saw the druids and archers preparing another fire arrow attack. Before they could finish the chant I rushed in a punch one of the druids.

    That was only one hit and it drop. The archer looked at me and shot his arrow. I quickly duck to avoid and luckily I didn¡¯t get any damage but it did hit an ally. The other soldiers started to attack the druids and archers so it became a slaughter. They started to attack and run away to lure some of them away.


    I ran towards all the druids and use all my fighting force I had and got rid of all of them without them casting out a spell. A problem occurs and that I caught the eyes of two regular goblins. The other goblins except the two that seen me were getting shot. Whatever gun Deadman has, the bullet damage must be high enough to penetrate their shields in one bullet.


    Both the goblins looked at me and started to circle me. I took one step and they both charged at me.

    Shit, I was able to dodge one but the other hit me. I¡¯m only at 61 health now, I should

    Wait where did that, oh the drones heal me their watching me fight. Ok I can do this I rushed to the goblin in front of me to attack and it raised its shield I punched it but 0 popped up and the goblin behind me attacked tried to dodge and counter attack but the goblin that was in front of me attack.

    My health was at 25, I don¡¯t know how to fight this enemy. I need to concentrate, if they wait for me to attack I¡¯m a goner, but if I wait for them I could do this. I patiently waited and one of them attacks. I redirected his momentum and threw him to the other side.


    The other goblin couldn¡¯t react quickly enough and I finally got a punch in

    I drunk down a health potion and to try and figure out my next attack. The goblins didn¡¯t know Aikido. So I can assume they don¡¯t another forms of marital arts. I was about to attack but a bullet came flying across me and went right through one of the goblins eyes. But another one didn¡¯t follow, was Deadman trying to see if I could defend myself.


    With a one on one this was very easy. I look around and the soldiers are finishing up this battle so I have time. The goblin ran towards me and I evaded, I hit his arm so that he would drop his sword. After it drops his sword I punch him but not without receiving a blow from his shield that sent me flying back.

    Ok without his shield he could be useless so I should figure my next attack.


    Buff Man: ¡°Um do you need help?¡±


    I looked at him and saw that the guards are all finish and Deadman from the bell tower is just looking at me and yawning. How could they look so carelessly don¡¯t they see I¡¯m in a critical battle.


    Transient: ¡°I got this.¡±


    I ran towards the goblin and it put up its shield like I expected but I didn¡¯t attack I sidestep to the right so that it I would get out of his view. After that I grabbed its arm and twisted him onto the ground. I continue to punch him until he would die and finally he dies. I looked like a lunatic when I was punching the goblin. It was my victory, I feel like I could do anything.


    Buff Man: ¡°Um, should we get ready for the second wave, we only lost 10 men.¡±


    Oh shit I forgot, damn I don¡¯t think I have any energy to barely move. I should start to cast magic; I don¡¯t know why I didn¡¯t do it in the beginning it might have been an easier fight.


    Transient: ¡°Ok let¡¯s get read¡­..¡±


    ? : ¡°Guuuurahhhhh¡±


    I looked up in the sky and saw fireballs raining into the sky and all I did was laugh. The second wave must have already started.

 Chapter 6 Goblin Raid (2)

    (POV Transient Ocean)


    The fireballs continue to pour down from the skies and all I could do was laugh. I knew this was the end so I should just wait for it.


    Then Deadman suddenly appear in front of me and picked me up and now I was at the top of the bell tower.


    Deadman: ¡°How was your battle?¡±


    Transient: ¡°Fine, thank you for saving me.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°We should just wait. The fireballs are meant to weaken us. I¡¯m guessing after this, arrows will follow to end any survivors.¡±


    How does he know this much? It¡¯s like he¡¯s been in a war already and experience this. Also how did he get there so fast?


    Transient: ¡°I see¡±


    Wait if that¡¯s the case we would only have the 10 soldiers I left at the bell tower. This is bad what should be our next action?


    Deadman: ¡°Transient go to the bottom floor of the bell tower and order those troops to barricade the entrance of the bell tower.¡±


    Transient: ¡°Ok, what will you do?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°You and me are the only range personal but I¡¯m the only one able to deal a lot of damage so you also stay at the bottom and help prevent anything from getting inside this place also make use of the earth wall.¡±


    Transient: ¡°Ok call me if you need any help.¡±


    (Switch POV Deadman)


    Ok Transient just left and my phantoms are just waiting on me again. I already wasted 2 [Dimensional Jumps] so I shouldn¡¯t waste the rest carelessly. I don¡¯t even know why I used them since she could have just respawn it might have been impulse to save a friend. I was able to level up two times from the first wave of goblins though.


    My predication was correct, arrows followed to but they were fire arrows. These cause d most of the houses to burn so people are going to die inside their house.


    I saw the regular goblins heading from the front but this plan didn¡¯t look right. If their plan failed last time why try the same thing. I used pulse and found 2 groups of goblin gunners on the west and east heading over here.


    I smiled; they plan to use the regular goblins as decoys. So I decided to deal with the goblin gunners first.


    Since they move a lot faster than the regular goblins. I was about to start shooting them but I also saw goblin archers climbing some of the houses. Their general must really know war if he can give orders like this.


    I ordered my [Phantoms] to deal with the archers on the houses since their trying to come to the bell tower. They already knew where I was shooting so there target must be me.


    *Bang*

    That¡¯s weird; I don¡¯t see how that number popped up it must be from the high pierce rate my gun has. Any way I have to deal with the gunners before I get in range for their guns. After 15 dropped they finally got close enough.


    I was pinned down and couldn¡¯t do anything I could use another jump but that would cost two technically since I would have to use one to get back. My [Foresight] only works if I look at them which isn¡¯t an option wait let¡¯s try peeking out my head out and

    Damn I got headshot by one of them and I quickly ducked back down back down. One of my phantom died they must have took the damage in my place. I guess I¡¯m going to have to jump. Wait what about my drones¡¯ energy shields. My drones can cast energy shields with some health before the shattered. I gave the order and now I peek out and signal the [Phantom] to attack the gunners with me.

    The last five finally dropped the only danger was the archers left. They were running across the roof tops trying to get close to us but I was able to pick them off. Every time I shot one of them, they look like ragged dolls. The bullets were capable of leaving a noticing mark on their foreheads or chest where it actually looks funny. The last units were the druids and regular goblins all the way in the back.


    I was about to shoot with my phantom but an icon appeared

    What pierced my head was a dagger; I looked to my left and saw a goblin thief smiling. I aimed my gun at it and shot but it didn¡¯t even try to dodge. It died but I was curious on how it didn¡¯t get sense by my [Pulse] when I scanned for the goblin gunners in the beginning was able to at least sense their presence last time.   I lost my last phantom so now I¡¯m vulnerable. I still had about 10 minutes to spawn the first one that died from the gunner and now 20 minutes for the one that died at the hands of the dagger.


    I used [Pulse] again but all I could sense was the druids and regular goblins. I decided to station both my drones on my left and right so I can deal with the goblins I can see. I don¡¯t really need the highlight buff since their gun defense is 0 so this should be quick.


    I started to fire at the regular goblins and they dropped very easily like I predicted but the drone signal me an enemy is behind me. I turned around it was a goblin thief. It was as tall as me but very slim with a cloak blocking its mouth, I could see its eyes though. As soon as it finish climbing the tower and looked at me I kicked it.


    Deadman: ¡°This¡­. Is¡­ Sparta¡­bitch!¡±

    Ummmmmmm in the movie he fell but now, he not only didn¡¯t fall he suffer 0 damage, are you shitting me. It raises its weapon to attack me but [Foresight] kicked in and I saw how he was going to attack so I dodge and signal my drone to put up an energy shield. The next attack by him shattered it but that gave me enough time to use my sniper and shoot a bullet right there its eyes

    ¡°Ding you have levelled up, now LvL 7¡±


    That was a close call and I leveled up. I continue to shoot the other goblins and druids and the second wave came to a conclusion.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient come here.¡±


    Transient: ¡°What is it, did we won?¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Yeah, the second wave is over for right now. I see you level up two times.¡±


    Transient: ¡°Yeah I didn¡¯t really earn it though; you did most of the work.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Stay here we me I¡¯m going to need your help with this last wave.¡±


    As soon as a said what I needed to say, I had stumble to the ground and vomited. Transient rushed to my sided with a worried look.


    Transient: ¡°Are you ok, you shouldn¡¯t strain yourself.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°I¡¯m ok it¡¯s just that when I took some damage from the two attacks that hit my head I felt the pain of it even though it went to my phantoms.¡±


    Transient actually looked like she was going to cry. I wanted to laugh but my stomach and head couldn¡¯t handle the pain I took form the dagger. So even if I don¡¯t take damage from attacks and it goes to my [phantom], I still receive mental attacks. I¡¯m going to have to get used to this eventually.


    I summoned both my [phantoms] again to get ready for the last wave. Some houses are still on fire.


    Deadman: ¡°Don¡¯t worry about me, more importantly use your wind spells to get rid of the fire on the houses we should still try to save civilians.¡±


    Transient: ¡°O¡­K¡±


    She looks worried about my health, I don¡¯t really care though. My objective is to make sure we survive this day. The first wave was a scout wave while the second wave was a rush wave to attack us without our guard up.


    The third wave didn¡¯t come so that means their thinking of a new strategy. They should only have about 100 troops left so I should deal with the small number of gunners and be on the lookout for thieves. Somehow they can block out my pulse completely which is very dangerous.


    The fires were finally wiped out and it looks like the third wave is starting. The goblins look like they were going to use a full frontal assault on the bell tower.


    I used [Pulse] and found out their setup. There were 30 regular goblins in the front. Also in the back of them were 5 goblin gunners. Behind them was taller armored goblins with heavy steel shields, they numbered around 50. I¡¯m guessing they must be the globin knights. There were 10 archers all the way in the back of the group. There 3 druids next to the archers.


    The general was in the middle. His armor was black and covered it covered him from head to toe. He also had a black onyx shield with a skull on its front. His weapon was a halberd that had blood dripping from it. That weapon must have the bleeding hidden attribute. With their numbers it comes up to 99; this means there¡¯s at least one thief.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient look out for a goblin thief I can¡¯t sense it ok.¡±


    Transient: ¡°Ok, just tell me what to do and I will try my best.¡±


    Deadman: ¡°Fine just be on the lookout, my gut tells me we are going to have to flee this place but I don¡¯t know yet.¡±

    I decided to shoot the regular goblins first however something was weird it was like they didn¡¯t fear death at all, all they did was march forward. The 30 regular goblins and 5 gunners eventually dropped. With how they are marching, they would take 20 minutes to reach this place.


    What struck me was the damage I was dealing on the goblin knights. Their shields formed all wall just like the first wave but my bullets couldn¡¯t get through. I tried to shoot at the same spot and eventually I pierced a shield and it broke

    Some of my damage wasn¡¯t getting through but I didn¡¯t care as long as I cause some damage. The distance bonus hasn¡¯t been kicking in since we started this battle or that was actually my full damage which was really weird. However they finally got close with only 5 minutes left I gave up on them. I focus my view on the archers and druids since that would be the best results.


    I easily one shot the enemies they archers and druids but now the goblin knights and general was at the entrance.  Transient looked worried, we only got rid of 2 goblin knights technically but the other types of goblins are dead.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient, use a fire ball and set the inside into flames.¡±


    Transient without any hesitation she did what I told her and I used a [Dimensional Jump] and got us at the north entrance of the village. My phantom¡¯s jumped of the bell tower but didn¡¯t receive fall damage which was weird. I signal both phantoms to go to the east and west the farthest they could go. I¡¯ll attack from the north while the [phantoms] attack from the east and west. With the right position we can attack in 3 different angles.


    I heard people screaming in the bell tower hopefully those knights inside killed a couple of goblin knights before dying.


    Deadman: ¡°Transient blast another fireball at the entrance of the bell tower to cave them in.¡±

    She did it and the entrance fell, I wonder what they would do now maybe¡­


    The debris was blasted out suddenly and the general and knights all stepped out. From my sight there looks like only 20 goblin knights and the general is left. Me and Transient are at the north entrance of the village and can¡¯t go any farther. Our distance is 50 meters from them.


    Deadman: ¡°Ok here¡¯s the plan, cast earth walls so that it can delay their movements this time it looks like they¡¯re just going to run at us and just try to kill us without caring for casualties.¡±

    I looked in the direction of Transient since she stopped talking and all I saw was a dagger pierces her throat and her wide eyes looking at me. After she dropped, I saw the goblin thief in front of her. It smiled and starting laughing at me.


    I aimed my gun at it and shot, it dodge my bullet however before it could react I use [Dimensional Jump] and appeared right in front of it and shot it.

My goal is to finish this battle ASAP so I can check Transient condition.


    I signal my drones to highlight them so I can stand my ground. I couldn¡¯t really move so I have to eliminate as many as I can before they reach me.

    I gave the [Thunder chain] skill book to Transient and I kept the [Camouflage] skill book. The rest of the armor didn¡¯t really look good so we decided to split the rest of the armor with our friends. I kept 1 that brought up my gun defense though.

    We found a villager and found out that 70 villagers survived the raid. They are going to have to move, since they lost their military, we both leveled up 2 more times and decided to head out. We were able to gain 10 gold coins each and 20 silvers. We were halfway to the camp and I stop.

    The lights were off and I heard my door opening. It happens to be Chloe holding her pink hello kitty pillow.

    I wonder why my brother is so popular. He doesn''t look happy though, he looks like he doesn''t like them at all.


    Chloe: ¡°Big Brother can you show me around the school before it starts?¡±


    Sean: ¡°Sure, I''ll see everybody later.¡±


    Girls: ¡°Bye Sean.¡±


    (10 minutes later)


    Chloe: ¡°Big Brother why did you not look at when those girls were talking to you earlier?¡±


    Sean: ¡°I find them to be an annoyance that''s why.¡±


    Chloe: ¡°Do you have any friends in school?¡±


    Sean: ¡°Chloe define a friend.¡±


    Chloe: ¡°A friend is a person who you have a special bond with and can talk.¡±


    Sean: ¡°Interesting let me tell you my version of a friend. A ¡®Friend¡¯ is a person you have very similar interest, a person that will help you in whatever time of need you require and won''t betray you for a survival means.


    You know when a person is a friend when you feel that he is your friend and can be viewed as a brother or sister to you.


    People in school make friends all the time but do they mean it, no. They use it as a social standing to stand out. If something was to happen I''m sure there ¡®Friend would betray them in a split second.


    I won''t make friends easily because I need to trust them, I don''t like having fake friendships.¡±


    My big brother is acting very different than before like he is a different person. Even his eyes change from hazel to black when he started to talk. It''s like someone else was talking for him.


    Chloe: ¡°I''m going to go to class now ok?¡±

    That was really weird I never seen him like that since last year when he had that same behavior and ore mother brought him to a doctor to be tested. He said he has multiple personality disorder, which I didn''t know what that mean but it seems dangerous.     Weird he said he doesn''t have friends but so many people are willing to talk to him.

    I was smiling since I was surprised, but when I looked at my brother face he actually looked irritated. He was putting up a fake smile to please everyone.


    Sean: ¡°Thank you mom and dad.¡±

    (2 hours later)


    Sean: ¡°What wrong mom and dad?¡±


    I looked over where I seen parents ready to talk and they looked sad.


    Mom: ¡°This isn''t easy so why just going to say this. Your father and I are getting a divorce.¡±


    Sean: ¡°What''s a divorce?¡±


    Father: ¡°It means that we won''t be seeing each other anymore and I''m moving to Japan for my new job.¡±


    They didn''t say any more and just left towards the bedroom. None of us said anything either we just remained silent.


    (Next day morning)


    Mom: ¡°Everybody get dress.¡±


    Sean: ¡°What about school?¡±


    Mom: ¡°You and Chloe will not be going to school today. Everybody is going to wish their father a happy trip at the airport.¡±


    I have a bad feeling that''s not all there is but I will remain quiet.


    On the car ride everyone was quiet and didn''t speak one word.


    Mom: ¡°So this is it huh?¡±


    Father: ¡°Yeah, I guess it is.


    Sean let''s go where about to miss our flight.¡±


    Sean: ¡°What!?!¡±


    Father: ¡°You¡¯re coming with me.¡±


    I looked at mom but she didn''t say anything and was holding us three so we wouldn''t go to big brother. She looks like she wants to cry but couldn''t.


    Chloe: ¡°Can I talk to my brother before you guys leave?¡±

    Mom let go of all of us and we came running to hug him. Simon and Taylor started to cry and I couldn''t stop the tears from falling either.


    Sean: ¡°Well this is a predicament. I guess I won''t be playing with everyone for a while.


    Taylor, even though you annoy me I still love you deeply. I know that you have a bright future ahead of you considering you love dolls and fashion.¡±


    Taylor: ¡°Yes big brother I will!!!¡±


    Sean: ¡°Simon, You¡¯re smart but not smarter than me so you have to study harder. I also love you even though we have our differences and it''s up to you to play videogames with put siblings.¡±


    Simon: ¡°I will, I will make sure that you are proud of me someday.¡±

    Chloe, you have always been next to me since you were an infant and still are today. You have always been the most caring towards me and took care of me when I needed help. I will always love you to. I want you to have to excel in everything so you can live up to your potential. You shouldn''t live in my shadow; you should become your own independent person.¡±


    Chloe: ¡°Big Brother I will always love you and no one can take that from me. Promise me one thing. Since you like videogames so much, become a person that makes videogames. Make them so that we can play them together even though we are going to be far apart.¡±


    I couldn''t stop crying this was the first time I cried so much since big brother went to school alone. I can''t stop for some reason. My heart hurts so much that I won''t be able to see them. That promise will be the only thing keeping me alive.


    Sean: ¡°I will.¡±


    No way is my brother actually crying to. This is actually the first time he actually ever cried. I looked at mom and dad, and saw that they were shocked to see him cry. It wasn''t as much as us but there were a couple of tears. He must care for us a lot.


    I looked into his eyes thought and saw his eyes change color again. It didn''t look like it was going to change either.


    He gave us one big hug and started to leave with father.


    All of us were standing there just watching them leave and couldn''t stop the tears.


    Mom: ¡°Let''s go kids¡±


    Chloe: ¡°I hate you!!!!!!¡±


    Mom: ¡°Chloe watch your mouth!¡±


    After that it became a blur. Somehow I fainted and mom came to pick me up calling an ambulance.


    (Sean POV)


    Sean: ¡°Dad how long will we stay in japan?¡±


    Father: ¡°Maybe until the end of college.


    Sean: ¡°Dad I have another question is my mom my real mom?

    Father: ¡°So you knew huh. Yeah that''s not your real mom. Your real mom died giving birth to you. She said that her last wish was for you to go to Japan when you enter 2nd grade. Since that''s where she was born. She wanted you to experience that place the same way.¡±


    Sean: ¡°I see¡±


    Father: ¡°How did you know if I may ask?¡±


    Sean: ¡°My last name isn''t anyone¡¯s from our family. Everyone¡¯s last name is Banks while mine is Scott.

    She was really gifted to but she value sleep above all else. What made her stand out was her red hair. It was really red; I''m guessing it was dye though. You really resemble her in personality to which is rare since you haven''t met.¡±


    Sean: ¡°Interesting¡±


    Father: Oh that reminds me since where on this flight I found this nice club for you. Apparently there are 6 other people that are going to be in this club. They are really talented like you so I enter you in. It starts in 1 month so you have to learn the language quickly.¡±


    Sean: ¡°Thank you dad.¡±


    Father: ¡°Are you feeling better I know this must be hard on you, your eyes also looked like they change haven''t they?¡±


    Sean: ¡°I''m ok, I feel like a new person.¡±
