《Reincarnation of Napoleon: World of Cards》 Book 1: Chapter 1: I, Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of France, will not be trifled Book 1. Chapter 1: I, Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of France, will not be trifled with! Earth. Year 1808 AD. Napoleon and Czar Alexander met at the congress of Erfu to discuss and preserve the Russo-french alliance. One year earlier, 1807, both leaders had a friendly relationship. Earth. Year 1811 AD. Tension increased dramatically and Czar Alexander was pressured by the Russian nobility to break of the alliance. Ultimately, Napoleon had to threaten Alexander with serious consequences if he broke the alliance. Earth. Year 1812 AD. Small birds, his advisors, told Alexander the possibility of an invasion by the french empire and the recapture of Poland. From countless of intelligence reports, the information about Napoleon expanding his Grande Arm¨¦e to more than 450.000 men. Later the same year, the invasion of Russia began. Earth. Year 1812-1813 AD. Napoleon¡¯s first over 450.000 men, under the harsh and cold winter of Russia, had dwindled down to 40.000. In return, Russia only lost a mere 150.000 men and a couple of 100.000 civilians. Heartened by France''s loss in Russia, Prussia joined with Austria, Sweden, Russia, Great Britain, Spain, and Portugal in a new coalition. The numbers of Napoleon¡¯s army continued to be dwindled down by the new coalition. Earth. Year 1813 AD. After many defeats, Napoleon was offered a peace treaty. He would still be the emperor of France. In return for the country becoming natural frontiers, they would still retain control over Belgium, Savoy and the Rhineland. In return, give up the rest including Spain and Netherlands, and most of Italy and Germany. Napoleon, expecting to win the war, lost his opportunity when the time lapse became too long. Earth. Year 1814 AD Napoleon and his now, 70.000 men, withdrew back into France. He faced more than a 210.000 men strong force of the coalition, three times his own army. The french were surrounded, British armies pressed from the south, and other Coalition forces positioned to attack from the German states. Even though Napoleon won several small skirmishes in the six days campaign, due to his genius mind at the battlefield, it was not significant enough to turn the tide. The leaders of Paris surrendered in 1814. Earth. Year 1814 AD. Bowing to the inevitable, Napoleon abdicated in favour of his son, with Marie-Louise as regent. However, the Allies refused to accept this from Alexander, who feared that Napoleon might find an excuse to retake the throne. Napoleon was then forced to announce his unconditional abdication only two days later. Later on, he was exiled to Elba, an island with 12.000 inhabitants. They allowed him sovereignty over the island and retaining his title, Emperor of France. Earth. Year 1815 AD. Napoleon escaped the island he was exiled to and returned to the mainland of france. When the fifth regiment of france was dispatched to deal with him, he came forth to face the army alone and said, "Here I am. Kill your Emperor, if you wish.¡± The fifth regiment lead by Louis XVIII, who immediately forgot his allegiance to the Bourbon monarch, and began to march towards paris with a growing army. However, the powers at the Congress of Vienna declared Napoleon an outlaw and four days later, four countries; Great Britain, Russia, Austria, and Prussia, each pledged to dispatch 150.000 men to confront him and end his rule. AD. Napoleon¡¯s POV ¡°Damn, I swear on god, I will avenge those who wronged me!¡± Napoleon¡¯s eyes were filled with the red color of vengeance and burning anger. *Cough* He coughed up crimson colored blood. He knew his time was due. ¡°If I ever again get a chance, I will not lose to anyone! I will show them all that I am Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of france. Everyone who dares to not obey me, I shall show them true power! For I, the genius commander, will not be trifled with! He felt his vision fade and the metallic blood taste in his mouth, gradually disappeared. Slowly but surely, the light dimmed and everything went black. The stillness of the void was unbearable. After a very long time, a faint light appeared in Napoleon¡¯s vision, ¡°What is this?¡± He silently asked himself. He then heard a voice devoid of emotions, ¡°You are interesting, do you wish to live once more? I can give you the chance under one condition.¡± Napoleon heard the voice and instantly agreed, ¡°Yes, I¡¯ll do anything you want.¡± He didn¡¯t care what the condition was. If he was given another chance to live, he would definitely take it no matter the costs. He heard a light chuckle then the voice said once more, ¡°Good, I like your attitude. I will reincarnate you into a world which¡ suits your talents. About the condition, you¡¯ll understand later on. Now, Mr. Napoleon, enjoy your new life and what the world of cards will give you!¡± A bright green light enveloped his ethereal body and instantly shrunk him into a small bulb of light. The pain he felt was unbearable. But after the shrinking was done and he became a small bulb of light, he felt as if though he suddenly was transported miles away. And then, he suddenly awoke. He opened his eyes and saw a green lush scenery. A field of fresh grass and red flowers blooming. It was very beautiful and most people would most likely succumb to the view. Yet for him, only one thought existed. ¡°In this new life, I will show everyone what true power is! I will not bow down to anyone. No matter who! I will return a punch with ten or even hundred punches. And it doesn¡¯t matter if they so are a king or god, For I, the genius commander, Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of France, will not be trifled with!¡± Book 1: Chapter 2: The world of Etryal Book 1. Chapter 2: The world of Etryal Napoleon gazed around himself, the field of green and slight red stretched for a couple of hundred meters. To his left, stood a forest. To his right, there was a lake with blue sparkling water. He figured that to venture inside an unknown forest before making sufficient preparations would be pretty stupid. What would happen if he got lost? He neither knew this world¡¯s geography nor what type of animals inhabited the forest. Countless poets and writers in his royal house had begged him to read their stories of fantasy worlds and mythological monsters. At that time, he didn¡¯t believe anything of it to be true. But considering his current predicament, he didn¡¯t really know what to believe. And if there really were dangerous monsters inside the forest, how would he be able to defend himself? After careful consideration, he walked towards the blue lake with sparkling water. As he came closer he saw his own reflection. An image of a young man in his teenage years or even early twenties appeared in the reflection of the water. Suddenly, he felt his mind spinning. Memories of a young man burst into his brain and seated themselves in his memory bank. Countless of experiences were now his. They felt like his at least. He inspected the image shown on the the water, ¡°This is not the body of mine, the body of napoleon.¡± He concluded with quickly. Contrary to the fine white teeth, which he was proud, his teeth were now slightly more yellow-ish. His slightly curved nose with a sharp and delicate modelling, was now a bit bigger. But what made him speechless was that he was actually quite handsome now. Prior to his reincarnation, he wasn¡¯t so handsome. Even though numerous of french young women on earth would die to be with him, it was only because of his status. Now however, he looked stunningly handsome. His height made him look rather fearsome. About 6.5 feet. Coupled with his facial features and slim body, he doubted women would be able to resist his manly charms. He smirked at the thought. ¡°What¡¯s this?¡± He was very confused as he brushed through more of the memories. ¡°The world of Etryal. Filled with monsters to be tamed using cards¡?¡± He scratched his chin. ¡°Monster cards. Cards containing monsters used in battles?¡± Now, he was even more confused. But then when he looked through more of the memories of the young man, understanding appeared in his face and his furrowed brows became unfurrowed. ¡°In this world, the more levels I have, the more power I have. And the more power I have, the more respect and veneration I will get. This world is ruled by cards. Monster cards. Defeating monsters and enslaving them in cards to later use to catch more monsters. Hmm¡ contrary to my past world, they don¡¯t fight wars with people. They fight wars with beasts as their soldiers¡± He smirked, ¡°But that just means I can use my army, in this case monsters, as pawns. With the morale being hundred percent¡¡± *Haha* His mouth turned into a small grin. ¡°I can also trade my monster cards with people to get other monster cards containing different monsters. And I can also steal cards from others¡¡± ¡°Right now, I am level 3. Levels 1-10 are called beginner , levels 11-20 are called acolyte, levels 21-30 are called veteran, Levels 31-40 are called master. Levels 41-50 are called grandmaster. Levels 51-60 are called duke. Levels 61-70 are called grand duke. levels 71-80 are called king. levels 81-90 are called emperors, levels 91-99 are called grand emperors and level 100+ are called gods.¡± Beginner> Acolyte> veteran> Master> Grandmaster> Duke> Grand duke> King> Emperor> Grand emperor> God The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Also, my lifespan will increase every time I break through a realm such as beginner, acolyte, veteran and so on. The beginner realm only widens the span with 1 year. Acolyte widens it with 2 years, veteran 4 years, master 8 years, grandmaster 16 years and so on. He blinked his eyes in surprise, ¡°So if y reach god level¡¡± He did a quick calculation within his mind, ¡°I will live be able to live for additionally about a thousand years. That in addition to the normal lifespan of humans, my life span should be about one thousand one hundred years.¡± ¡°Weird. there¡¯s no information about if there¡¯s a level cap? If there¡¯s a maximum level that can be achieved. Maybe there is no max level? Does it stretch for eternity? If so, every ten levels after 100, would the lifespan still multiply by two?¡± He thought about it for a moment. If the lifespan multiplied by two every ten levels there would most likely be increased difficulty of advancing for every level achieved. It would be harder to level up to 90 from 89 than 89 from 88. He continued to look through the young man¡¯s experiences. After a while, he had fully digested them and placed them in order where he could access them instantly. ¡°The young man¡¯s name was, coincidently, Napoleon as well.¡± He smiled widely. ¡°That means I won¡¯t have to change to the name he had. It makes things easier.¡± He looked in the reflection and saw blood stains on the linen tunic worn by him, ¡°It seems as if though the former host of this body died. Then afterwards, I arrived and he was resurrected.¡± ¡°According to the memories, I went out in the forest to hunt and catch monster. When I finally caught a nightstalker, a black flying bat, after a strenuous battle, members of my village got greedy and wanted the bat card. When I refused to hand it over, they resorted to violence. Ultimately, it lead to my defeat. With my grave wounds, I died. Fortunately, I made my way to green, and slightly red, field before I died of blood loss.¡± Anger was excluded from his eyes, ¡°Even if this wasn¡¯t me, it was the host of my body. I dare to say, they will die. For the sake of them not telling others they killed me, as it may invite trouble if people knows I died yet returned from the dead, but also because they dared to kill me. Even if I should be grateful for them allowing me to get this body by killing the last host, I shall kill them.¡± Napoleon began to formulate a plan inside his mind. ¡°First I need to catch some monsters to use. At the moment I only got my started card. Every person in this world, the world of Etryal has a starter card which can¡¯t die, be destroyed or stolen. And after I catch some monsters¡¡± He smiled deviously. It made him look like a devil masquerading for a beautiful prince riding a white horse. ¡°Summon deck!¡± He shouted. Suddenly, a scroll appeared in the air. It was like magic, he was astounded by how it worked. Inside the scroll, only the image of a fiery small hound could be seen. Above the image, the level and name of the beast stood. ¡°Fire hound, level 3. A hound known for its high attack power. In higher levels, can control the element of fire and breathe out like an attack. Napoleon pondered for a moment, ¡°Like a dragon in the poems and stories told by those in my royal house, looks like this new world can be fun after all." ¡°I am level three, the dog is level three. Therefore, I suspect my starter card, fire hound, will always be on the same level as myself.¡± He guessed wildly. Napoleon used his brown eyes to look out towards the forest. Then he said loudly, ¡°Well then, let us see what this new world can offer me, the genius commander!¡± He took big steps and walked towards the forest. And as he walked, he performed an action he couldn''t resist, picking his nose. Book 1: Chapter 3: Fire hound vs Phantom tiger Book 1: Chapter 3: Fire hound vs Phantom tiger The forest was awfully quiet. As if the dangerous monsters pressure made the weak critters such as; rabbits, deers and so on, unable to utter sound because of the fear instilled. Napoleon, schooled in many subjects, knew of the behaviour of predators and understood the situation. ¡°Most likely, I will have to undergo my first battle sooner than I expected¡± His five senses, hearing, vision, smell, taste and feel, were trained to the limit by years of practice. His eyes radiated utmost focus, he knew this wasn¡¯t the time to be dallying around. Suddenly, from the corner of his eyes, saw a shadow mowing in the bushes. ¡°Summon deck, summon fire hound!¡± He yelled quickly. A hound about the size of, well, a hound, materialized in front of him. ¡°Fire hound, block the opponent¡¯s attack!¡± He commanded the hound. Barely seconds after, the shadow he saw lurking in the bushes, leapt towards him. *Woof* The fire hound obeyed his command and jumped in front of him. ¡°Sweet, the feeling of making others obey me is as strong as ever¡± A pleasurable sound came out of his mouth. *Clang* The fire hound¡¯s claws and the shadow met and a metallic sound was emitted from the impact. Napoleon could now see the what kind of creature the opponent was. It was a tiger. According to the guy¡¯s memory it was a phantom tiger. ¡°Identify!¡± After the word came out of his mouth, another scroll appeared in the air. Every person in this world had the ability to both inspect beasts and enslave them. He used one of the inherent ability of humans, identify. He read the information in the scroll. Phantom tiger, lvl 4. A creature known for its speed. With the element of darkness, it executes ambush attacks. Other than ambushes, its overall attack power is about level 3. ¡°Good. All I have to do now is to wound it enough so that I can enslave it with one of my free cards in the deck.¡± He thought to himself silently and then commanded his monster once more, ¡°Fire hound, attack!¡± His fire hound leapt towards the phantom tiger, slashing its claws towards the vital of the tiger. *Roar!* The phantom tiger roared and tried to evade with its high speed. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Napoleon, it couldn¡¯t dodge completely. *Slash* The claws made a inch deep wound in the tiger''s body. With the wound on its shoulder, the fight was shortly finished. The tiger was about to bleed out and lay on the ground not able to move. ¡°Summon deck, use free card on phantom tiger!¡± Napoleon said. Out from the deck an image of a gigantic card came out. It enveloped and catched the tiger like a net. According to the former host, it would take about three seconds to catch monsters. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. 1 second passed. The envelope on the tiger was still there. 2 seconds passed. The tiger struggled to escape, but with its current strength, it was to hard. 3 seconds passed. *Ding* The envelope shrunk the tiger, transformed into a card of light and flew to his deck where the image of a phantom tiger appeared beside the fire hound. ¡°Yes, I succeeded. Let''s call the phantom tiger for the leader of Napoleon¡¯s assassins!¡± He laughed maniacally. Then he continued, ¡°I will have three main divisions; Underground monsters, ground monsters and flying monsters.¡± ¡°Of course, only if there are flying monsters and underground monsters. Anyhow, the phantom tiger will be the leader of the ground monsters assassin unit.¡± *5 hours later* ¡° Ten ground units. two phantom tigers each in level 5. Five stone-throwing apes, four in level 2 and one in level 3. Two hill-bears in level 4. Also, my fire hound is level 6.¡± ¡°The stone throwing apes are similar to the artillery in my previous world, they shall stand behind my hill-bears who shall work as protection. My two phantom tigers will go in from the flanks when the fire hound attack head-on.¡± After five hours of hunting and catching monster, he had enslaved eight more. The stone-throwing apes were of the stone element and could conjure stones to use as ammunition and throw. The hill-bears would be used as how cavalry was used until he had real cavalry, monsters similar to horses. high attack power, high speed, medium defense. Since his hound was level six, he was also level six. Every monster would get access to one of their abilities in level ten. His fire hound could example shoot out a ball of fire at enemies. ¡°I suppose I¡¯ll go back to the village now. I need to properly educate those who killed the former host of this body.¡± He said and began to make his way back to the village. ¡°Darling, Napoleon hasn¡¯t come back for¡ He left for over two days ago¡¡± A woman, most likely in her late fifties, said to the man of similar age who sat beside her. The man furrowed his brows and said sadly, ¡°I know honey, but we can only hope for the best¡¡± She looked up towards him and said, ¡°Do.. do you think he¡ is dead?¡± He couldn¡¯t respond, something was stuck in his throat, making him unable to answer. Seeing the expression on the man¡¯s face, the women understood his thoughts. The woman began to cry, the man beside her put his arms around her He hurriedly confirmed her, ¡°Don¡¯t worry, he¡¯ll be back. He must.¡± ¡°But..¡± *Shhh* ¡°No buts, he will return to us¡¡± The man once more said. ¡°He must come back¡± The man thought, closed his eyes and hugged the woman even tighter. Book 1: Chapter 4: Arrival to the village Book 1: Chapter 4: Arrival to the village Soon in Napoleon''s view, a village came to appear. Stone walls and a roof, the houses were rather simple. From what he could see, the thatching was made by straw. It was an old crafting method used for building the roof of a house. From his history lessons at young age, he could with only a glance see that the time period in this world was in a much earlier stage than the one in his previous world. This world should be at the medieval age technology if not lower. ¡°Hopefully, the way the people this world uses monsters in wars shouldn¡¯t be too advanced.¡± With the war methods he had learned at the military academy in his past world when he was young and the methods he had invented himself, he should be able to bring forth a revolutionary way of thinking. ¡°I must wonder though, from my experiences in enslaving these nine monsters, the strength difference wasn¡¯t so significant, at least when the difference was one level. But what I wonder is, does the difference grow in folds after every tens of levels, or does quantity win over quality?¡± Depending on the situation, he would have to develop his army accordingly. If the world favored quantity over quality as his old world did, he would focus on gathering vast amounts monsters and use them in different and complex strategies to win over his opponents. But if the situation was reversed, he would have to think completely differently. Of course, quantity would still be important, but quality would be even more important. ¡°Only time can tell¡± He said to himself and began to walk to the village. As he came to the village, he was met with yells of surprise: ¡°Napoleon is back!¡± ¡°He survived in the forest for two days?!¡± ¡°Quickly! Inform old man Coby and his wife Sarah, their child has returned!¡± ¡°Hoo, when I think about it, I have parents here. Still, I need to be careful and avoid saying something the former Napoleon of this body wouldn''t.¡± As Napoleon walked through the gate of the village, he saw an older man and a woman coming towards him. The older man looked very similar to Napoleon in appearance. He wore a green tunica and black trousers. ¡°Seems like it¡¯s my father¡± Napoleon was silently surprised. If he played his moves smartly, he could play them about having a slight amnesia and understand more about this world by asking them question. And with the amnesia, they wouldn''t suspect him of not being their son. Beside the old man, there was a woman of similar age. She was also quite beautiful. Her clothing consisted of the same clothing the man wore, a green tunica and a pair of black trousers. ¡°So there are only slight distinctions between men¡¯s clothing and women¡¯s clothing in this world... I wonder if that¡¯s only how it is in worn-down villages such as this. I mean¡ There has be big castles and fortresses, right?" In the former Napoleon''s mind, only information about the village being situated in the Barak empire was there. So hopefully, there would be giant castles and so on. With countless of elegant ladies for him to... Cough. ¡°Napoleon, you¡¯re back! My son, we thought we had lost you!¡± The old man yelled and leapt towards Napoleon, embracing him in a warm tight hug. Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s act like a good son would. Like the former Napoleon did. Let¡¯s do a total twist in my personality.¡± He thought, ¡°After all, I am brilliant in being an actor as well.¡± ¡°Dad, you¡¯re crushing me!¡± Napoleon said with a big smile plastered on his face. His personality had turned hundred eighty degrees around. Instead of releasing Napoleon or maybe even lighten up the hug a bit, the man hugged him even tighter, ¡°Don¡¯t make me worry so much about you then, little rascal!¡± The man said laughingly, he was very happy for his son to be home. *Haha* ¡°I¡¯m sorry dad, forgive your stupid son for making you worry so much. but let me see mom as well. You¡¯re ugly face is too much!¡± Napoleon cracked a joke to lighten up the mood. He knew jokes were good in such situations. The man instantly shrunk back, ¡°Little rascal, how dare you insult you father. I gave you life!¡± He played hurt and faked sobbing sounds. ¡°Coby! I was the one whom gave him life, not you!" The woman beside her retorted Napoleon¡¯s father jokingly. Then, she turned around to him. ¡°You made me worry much my dear, please don¡¯t do that again. My fragile heart won¡¯t be able to handle it¡± Her voice seemed quite sad, filled with the endless emotions of a mother. ¡°Don¡¯t worry mother, I won¡¯t.¡± He embraced her in a hug. But it wasn¡¯t nearly as tight as his father''s. He glanced at his father whom looked at him when he hugged his mother. A happy expression covered the man¡¯s face. Only now did he understood what they had gone through, not knowing where he was. ¡°Damn, former Napoleon, take some responsibility!¡± He thought inwardly. ¡°Mother, father, I have some matters to attend to, I will come back for dinner later.¡± He said. Seeing a slightly stunned expression on his father¡¯s face, ¡°Crap, did I say something wrong? Something the former Napoleon wouldn¡¯t say?!¡± He though. But he was relieved when Coby said, ¡°Okay son, do what you must. "Today, the dinner will be roasted duck!¡± He proudly announced. Hearing what her husband announced, his wife Sarah¡¯s face changed,¡°But Coby, you only say that because I have to make the dinner then! You can¡¯t make roasted duck!¡± Napoleon smiled at the scene of his two parents. Even though they weren¡¯t his real parents and he had only met them for very little time, they inhabited quite a profound spot in his mind. ¡°If only my real parents would be like that... " "Shut up Napoleon.¡± He told himself. His thoughts had wandered where they shouldn''t have wandered. He forbid himself long ago to think about those memories. ¡°Mother, father. Bye.¡± Seeing his parents not reacting to his words, only heatedly doing a combination of fighting and discussing, he left. ¡°Now, let¡¯s find those who killed the former Napoleon. Let¡¯s show them that a Napoleon is not someone to be trifled will, not even a dead one!¡± Book 1: Chapter 5: Napoleon, the greatest actor of all times! Napoleon strolled through the rural village. Compared to the Paris, it was an extremely small town. With barely a population of one thousand, It wasn¡¯t so wealthy either. ¡°After I have dealt with the killers of the former Napoleon, I will say goodbye to my parents and journey to a bigger town. I will also some have to acquire nobility. Then, I will steadily work myself up to the top in both levels and money. With the most levels and the most money, I will be the most powerful!¡± He laughed for himself, earning extremely suspicious glances from people walking past him. According to the former Napoleon¡¯s memory, there were special battles, called duels. A duel was a private battle set up between two card clashers. Card clashers were what people who catches monsters in cards and use them to battles were called. That was the former Napoleon¡¯s dream, to become the greatest Card clasher in the world of Etrya. *Haha* ¡°Do not worry former Napoleon, I might actually achieve your dream for you. But I suppose it doesn¡¯t really matter to you when it is me who''s achieving it for you. *Cough* ¡°And as I was saying¡¡± He abruptly stopped to walk, ¡°When I think about it, where do I find the members who killed the former Napoleon. In the former Napoleon¡¯s memory, no such place exists. Never mind, I might as well ask someone who walks past me.¡± The members were a total of four, Howard Hill, Jerry springer, Richard green and Jones miller. ¡°That sounds like british names¡ I hate brits¡¡± He clenched his fists, ¡°I hate brits so darn much¡¡± *Hoo* He took a deep breath. After a while, he got his answers from a bypassing man. ¡°Let us go and duel Howard Hill first, according to the man I asked, he lives closest from here. *2 minutes later* ¡°Ehh¡ I guess I will just go and knock on the door¡?¡± He didn¡¯t really know what to do, he had never visited someone like this before. In his previous life, everyone just came and visited him, ¡°Hmpf, I really want to be nobility again, it feels so much better¡ Everyone will come to me¡¡± *Knock Knock* A man in his fifties opened. Short white hair and a sloppy shaved beard, ¡°How may I help you, young man?¡± The man asked and looked towards Napoleon, waiting for an answer. Napoleon cleared his throat and replied with a bright smile on his face, ¡°Hi, you are howie''s father, right? It¡¯s so nice to meet you, I am his friend¡± He happily shook the man¡¯s hand with an elated face, ¡°I have heard so much about you¡ Actually, I am here to see howie, is he here?¡± The man was shocked by Napoleon¡¯s super elated attitude but then replied with a happy face, ¡°No, I¡¯m sorry he just went out, but he¡¯ll be back later. Why don¡¯t you come in for tea, I brewed some just moments ago.¡± ¡°Howie¡¯s friends doesn¡¯t come here and visit here often. It¡¯s about time they did. Now, come in, come in¡± The man welcomed Napoleon, happily to have some visits, especially by one of his son¡¯s friends. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Napoleon followed the man in and continued to chat with an elated attitude when they drank tea, ¡°Awesome! This tastes so very good. did you make it yourself? I so have to tell mother about it, could I have your recipe?¡± ¡°Ha, so easy to trick. I am such a genius actor. I, the great napoleon, can do anything perfectly!¡± Napoleon smiled inwardly, his face still containing the same enthusiasm. ¡°Now the only thing to do is to wait for the little mouse to bite the cheese. Maybe that was a bad expression for it¡ Anyway, the only thing to do now is to wait for Howard to come how and then my master plan can be revealed¡± *Muhaha* *2 hours later* ¡°... And then she threw up all over him! Do you know what she ate? Spinach soup!¡± *Hahahahahaahahaha!* Both Napoleon and Howie¡¯s father, named Daryl, laughed loudly. Daryl even began to shed tears from all the laughter. *Door opens* ¡°Hi dad, I¡¯m home!¡± A voice sounded out from the entrance. Daryl heard his son and replied happily, ¡°Welcome home howie, you should really bring your friends home more often. This guy is really funny!¡± Howard who just came home after hunting in the west side of the forest though, ¡°What? Friends? Which friend of mine would come over and visit me?¡± He walked further in the house. ¡°H-how¡?¡± Howard¡¯s face became pale when he saw Napoleon, the guy he just, a couple of days ago, killed in cold blood, was here inside his house talking to his father as if they were old friends. He stuttered, ¡°H-how¡ y-you?¡± Napoleon quickly said with a ¡°So-happy-to-see-you-face¡±, ¡°Yo Howie, your father is very funny too talk to. How about we go out, I need to talk to you for a moment.¡± He rose his eyebrows slightly and stared hard into howard''s eyes. His expression said, ¡°If you don¡¯t¡¡± ¡°S-sure Napoleon, come, let¡¯s go outside.¡±Howard still with a pale face said, ¡°Father, I¡¯ll see you later.¡± Daryl, howard''s father, replied, ¡°We¡¯ll sure do howie, by the way, bring your friends home more, it¡¯s really entertaining!¡± He laughed. ¡°Y-yes of course father, I will¡¡± Howard said. Napoleon then turned around to Daryl again with a happy and elated expression on his face, ¡°It was so nice to finally have met you Daryl. Howie had told me so much about you. Let us meet again sometimes.¡± ¡°Haha, don¡¯t be modest now. Remember, you¡¯re always welcome here.¡± Daryl laughed, he liked the young man, his son¡¯s friend. ¡°Let us be off then Howie! See you later Daryl!¡± He waved with his hand towards Daryl turned around to Howard and smiled deviously. Book 1: Chapter 6: Staked duel Royalroad removed my thanks to jack, my patron, here in this chapter. Yet, please give him a big applause. Also, feel free to check out my website, link in main paige. Without further ado, enjoy! Howard''s face, which had become less pale than before, immediately became white as if he had seen a ghost. Which, in his case, he thought he had. ¡°How come he is alive¡? And what does he want to do with me? ...Anyways, he has no evidence. Napoleon can¡¯t prove anything. Don¡¯t worry Howard, you are safe.¡± He thought through think logically and made his mind firm. There was no way for Napoleon to prove that he was wounded by them when they stole the bat. After overcoming the surprising lash of seeing a man he thought he had killed, he immediately became more self-confident. After leaving the house and walking slightly away from the village, Howard spoke with a rather ¡°High on the horse¡± voice, ¡°Napoleon, what do you want?¡± Napoleon was rather stunned by the question. He smiled inwardly and thought, ¡°It seems as if Howard understood that I wouldn¡¯t be able to find evidence. Unfortunately, I¡¯m not as weak nor as merciful as the former Napoleon was...¡± *Evil grin* Of course, he didn¡¯t do an evil grin visible to Howard. That would ruin the fun... Napoleon cleared his throat and said, ¡°Let¡¯s remove the skeleton from the closet, you think I don¡¯t remember what you and your friends did to me?¡± Killing intent flickered in his eyes. *Snort* ¡°Pfft. Very well. What can you do with me? You got no evidence whatsoever.¡± Howard responded confidently. In his opinion, Napoleon could do nothing to him. ¡°Haha, your right, I can¡¯t do anything towards you or your friends. But I challenge you to a duel. As a fellow card clasher, your honor has to be worth something, right?¡± Napoleon said in a calm tone. From what Howard could see, Napoleon wasn¡¯t even dejected by one degree. Yet he didn¡¯t pay much heed to it. ¡°Why would I accept your duel? No, honor is only for weak people, honor is shit.¡± Howard retorted Napoleon. In his opinion, honor was worthless. It could make people die. And what worth is honor for a dead man? ¡°Haha, I admit defeat. I can¡¯t do anything towards you¡¡± Napoleon laughed. Howard began to laugh as well and said, ¡°I know, you are really stu¨C ¡°... except for killing you and your father.¡± Napoleon interrupted Howard and continued to laugh afterwards. ¡°Yes you can only¡ WHAT?!¡± Howard¡¯s facial color became the usual white again. He said ¡°Hey, hey, you can¡¯t be serious, you can¡¯t kill me and¡¡± ¡°You want to bet?¡± Napoleon immediately replied. ¡°If you don¡¯t accept the duel, I hope you are faster than a Phantom tiger.¡± ¡°What do you want?¡± Howard asked showing signs of fear. He didn¡¯t know if Napoleon really had the guts to kill him and his father or not. But at the same time, he didn¡¯t want to risk it because Napoleon might have changed and become a bit psychologically defect. ¡°Are you stupid? I said a duel.¡± Napoleon said. He had long ago mastered the art of speaking. His way with words was incredible. If he wanted it of course. Usually, especially in his previous life, he didn¡¯t show of so much since it may invoke anger from the opposite party. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. He remembered once when he confronted a noble and totally beat the shit out of him with words. The noble didn¡¯t remember. He fainted during the verbal confrontation and got a severe trauma which led to self-denial and so on. ¡°I...¡± Howard stuttered. He didn¡¯t want to duel Napoleon. There were two kinds of duels he could be challenged to. A normal duel. No stakes, no nothing. The second type however, was to some extent, more tricky. The second type, a staked duel, involved both parties to stake things. The things could be anything between a favor or all of the opposing party¡¯s monster cards. And if Napoleon engaged him in a staked battle and forced him to stake all his monster cards, all his monster cards would be taken from his deck and inserted into Napoleon¡¯s. Except the starter card of course. The rules and duels were made according to the heavenly laws. duels would be held in a different space, completely unaffected by the real world. No one knew when the heavenly laws came to be, they had just always been there. There were also legends in the village about great kingdoms fighting their battles with duels. duels of great magnitude, compassing thousands upon thousands of monsters battling each other with great glorious commanders controlling them. ¡°Do you dare to kill me and my dad? What if the village finds out?¡± He made a last verbal attack to try to scare Napoleon. ¡°Do you want to see if I dare?¡± Napoleon calmly replied. Nothing would change his mind. Seeing Napoleon calm expression, Howard could only grit his teeth and agree, ¡°...Sure¡± After all, compared to his and his father¡¯s life, monster cards were nothing. He could easily use his starter card to gather monsters again. Napoleon smiled, looked up towards the sky and said, ¡°I, Napoleon Bonaparte, hereby challenge Howard Hill to a staked battle!¡± Howard said, ¡°I, Howard Hill, accept!¡± Without preparation or warning, the space around them began to warp and distort. The sound of the space warping and distorting could clearly be heard. it was like if small particles lightly rubbed against each other. Creating a rather annoying sound. Then, a resplendent light shone and Napoleon was transported into a room. The walls were of some kind of dark material, it seemed as if it was alive. If Napoleon had lived for some hundred years later than he did, he would have easily explained it as space. Other than the walls of space, green and red light illuminated the room. They moved in certain patterns on the floor and walls. In front of him, Napoleon saw a some kind of metallic tablet. If he, once again, had lived for some hundred years later than he did, he could have explained it as a touch tablet. On the tablet¡¯s screen, it stood in big black letters, ¡°Place stake.¡±. He clicked on it. And then¡! Book 1: Chapter 7: Heaven’s paradise of multitude ¡°State your stakes. Press the letters in the keyboard below.¡± A voice, similar to the one he he heard prior to his new life when he was about to die, said. Maybe it was the same voice, he didn¡¯t know. A voice without emotions was like a doll without decorations, just an ordinary dull doll without any features. And since he couldn''t physically see the voice, he couldn¡¯t determine whether or not it was the same voice. ¡°What is this blasphemy? This has to be the work of sat¡ Oh, never mind. *Haha* ¡°I almost forgot myself there. It¡¯s a bad habit of being such a great actor. Sometimes I forget what¡¯s an act and what¡¯s not an act. And I forgot this was a fantasy world, anything is possible here!¡± When he ruled the country of france, religion was one of his best tool to control his country and his citizens with. After all, Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich. With religion, he could say whatever he wanted to and then tell his people, ¡°It was the divine words of our god!¡± Even though Napoleon was baptized a Catholic in Ajaccio at the Ajaccio Cathedral. His sentiments toward religion were seemingly contradictory. He had absolute confidence in the non-existence of god. In his belief, all religions were made by man. Others thought about him to very faithful to god, even his parents thought he was that. He lived through his childhood in the island of Corsica and was his parent¡¯s fourth child and third son. His childhood was very¡ different. ¡°They didn¡¯t accept¡¡±He abruptly stopped. For seconds, his eyes flashed with intense killing intent. It wasn¡¯t the sort of killing intent he displayed when he threatened Howard. It was real pure and flawless killing intent. Gained by truly hating something or someone. ¡°...Anyway, let¡¯s start by setting the stakes¡. Hmm, how about both parties bet all of their monster cards?¡± He typed in ¡°All monster cards¡± in the tablet¡¯s field for ¡°both parties.¡± After a couple of seconds, a high pitched *ding* was heard and the same emotionless voice resounded in the space room,¡°Stake has been accepted by opposite party, do you wish to place more stakes? If no, say no, if yes, say yes.¡± Napoleon thought it through for a second, ¡°Let¡¯s not bully the weak too much, right?¡± He smiled and replied, ¡°No.¡± *Ding* ¡°No further stakes from both parties, duel will now proceed. Map randomly selected.¡± ¡°What? Map randomly selected?¡± Napoleon had no idea what the voice meant. ¡°Teleportation to starting point in 1...2...3!¡± He felt the same feeling he felt when he had arrived here from the plains outside the village and the same sound of particles rubbing against each other. It wasn¡¯t very pleasant. His vision went black and the sound stopped. Then after a few seconds, the scenery made him speechless. He was surrounded by flat floating islands. The island were of different climates. Some were warm and had sprouting mini volcanoes, and some were of the frozen tundra up in the north. Some were of the ancient and dry desert, and some were totally submerged in a bubble of water enveloping the whole of the island. It was truly a marvelous sight. ¡°How can an island float. And how can they¡ Never mind.¡± Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. ¡°Stop asking such stupid questions to yourself. You know it¡¯s a fantasy world. Start acting like you know it! Napoleon started to pout from his own scolding. Only someone with a truly thick skull could do such things. But well, how could such a brilliant mind be without flaws? He stood on one of the island. Luckily, it was an ordinary one with grass and not mini volcanoes. ¡°Lucky me, huh?¡± He took a breath of relief. If he had been transported onto one of the island submerged with water or one of those with volcanoes on, he would most likely perish quickly. The voice resounded once more, ¡°Randomly selected map, ¡°Heaven¡¯s paradise of multitude.¡± ¡°Heaven¡¯s paradise of multitude? Heaven exists? And come one, this isn¡¯t a paradise¡¡± He immediately began to criticize the voice¡¯s, whatever it was, naming sense. According to him, there was no such thing as heaven, nor hell. After all, his belief in god was non-existent. And lack of faith in god resulted in the lack of faith in heaven and hell. ¡°Target, defeat enemy troops. Target location, the island next to yours. Time limit, 2 days.¡± Upon hearing the last sentence he exclaimed out loud, ¡°two days?! How is that possible? So for me to challenge all four killers of the former Napoleon, just the duels might take up to eight days?¡° He was shocked. A duel¡¯s time limit was 2 days. ¡°Well well, I¡¯ll just have to finish this quickly I suppose¡¡± He wondered how long the legendary battles between empires would take. 2 months? 6 months? A year? He had no idea. On the other hand, the battles in his world also took a long time. And there was no casualties except for the loser having to follow the stake set in the start of the game. But after thinking so far, many questions appeared in his mind. ¡°Why do they use duels to settle disputes? Why do they wage war with monster cards? How come they don''t use their monsters and directly invade their opponent¡¯s lands and kill them before they can react?¡± ¡°Tsk. I hate not knowing even the basic things of the world. Former napoleon really lived in a rural village, not even having information about such things¡¡± Napoleon located the island next to him, it was also an ordinary grass one. ¡°Looks like whatever it is which is controlling this duel thing, heavenly law or whatever, won¡¯t make it too hard by placing on on easy island and right next to each other.¡± He saw Howard on the other island. That guy had already begun to do something. Napoleon couldn¡¯t see clearly enough to see what the guy did, even if he squinted his eyes. After looking around, reckoning and calculating, he could deduce the fact that the hardest thing was to get over to the other island. He had no monster flying beast nor any bridge to walk upon. He lightly smiled, ¡°Honestly, everything has been too easy up until now, looks like I can finally show the prowess of the most brilliant commander in humankind''s history!¡± He took a step back, and went further in on the grass planet. Except for grass, there was a couple of trees and a lake of water further in. ¡°Hmm¡ That may work¡¡± An idea popped up in his mind. ¡°Well then, let¡¯s begin¡± He thought to himself before yelling, ¡°Deck!¡± Book 1: Chapter 8: Let the game begin! Yo guys! Long time since I posted any chapters. Sorry. Anyways, without further ado ¨C enjoy!
