《[COE] blood moon》 ~prologue~ Every human is born with the ability to cultivate and absorb energy, the amount varies but every last one of them is born with a manapool. The line that separates the talented from the¡ well¡ the untalented is the how strong your manapool is. Through centuries of selective marriages the nobles have acquired a bloodline of strong and talented mages. While the commoners only have a manapool of average strength. After centuries of experimentation mankind succeeded in using mana to manipulate the elements, but sometimes nature shakes things up a little bit, and so once is a blue moon a child is born with a unique magic and no mana. but just because a magic is unique doesn¡¯t mean it is useful, after all in a world were magical beast roam the world, firepower is the most important thing and so abilities such as talking to birds, or controlling slime and being able to possess a spoon are deemed useless. However in a manor in emerald city a child is born. When they heard that the child wouldn''t be very strong the parents were disappointed, yet they still had hope, if he were to have a unique magic then there was hope that he might still be useful in some way. Yet this possibility, this hope was crushed when they learnt he didn¡¯t have no manapool, he just had an incredibly weak one. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. A manapool works like a container, the stronger yours is the more mana you can have, kind of like a air tank can hold more air than a balloon before it breaks. However the kid''s manapool was as this as a cicada''s wing, there was no way for him to cultivate in the future And just like that, the bright and beautiful life he could have had disappeared forever. The child was immediately cast away, he was raised as a slave under the watchful eyes of his ¡°parents¡± after all a kid like that, with such a low level of mana was a disgrace to a noble clan, if he just had an amount of mana inferior to that of the average noble then it would have been possible to handle the situation in a different way. But the kid had a mana level lower than that of a common beggar. How would they be able to keep their head high if it was known that such a kid had any ties with their family? The boy was named Akame, because of his auburn hair and crimson eyes. He was to be raised by Victoria, one of the house slaves of the Marks family, the least wealthy and renowned family of the clan. He was probably going to end up as an outdoor slave, like most of the men. However once again, nature decided to shake things up. chapter 1 its my first story so i might lack some skills. i really like the idea but i had some dificulties to write it down corectly so i restarted my story because i didn''t like some parts of it and got stuck on others but it didn''t change that much...i think. anyway hope you guys will like it
In a forest of the Marks family, a 17 year old, auburn haired boy was punching a long with his bloody fists. He was pretty well build, no doubt thanks to all the manual labour he had to do through the years. But having a strong body doesn¡¯t mean he had a happy childhood. His body, as strong as it was, bore marks left by years of abuse. After all the life of a slave was never meant to be easy, and if you add to that the fact that he wasn¡¯t raised by his parents but by a women who was forced to do so and that the nobles of the marks family mistreated him as a way of vengeance every time the other, more powerful families made them look like fools or made called them inferior. Which obviously happened pretty often. His only ray of sunshine in his dark life was a girl named Jessica. Jessica arrived when he was five, she was a three year old girl that was sold by her alcoholic father. She was a very rare thing, she was a slave with a smile. They immediately became very close since they were very close in age. Without her Akame¡¯s would have most likely killed himself due to depression, after all the life of a slave was never a happy one. His best memory was of her when he was ten. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Jess:¡°Akame!¡± ¡° hey Akame! What do you want to do when you grow up¡± Akame: ¡°I don¡¯t even want to grow up, we¡¯re slaves remember. We don¡¯t really have a say in those matters.¡± Jess:¡±pfff you just don¡¯t know how to dream, later I want to go out and see the world and have my own house where I can eat all I want and be lazy all day just like the masters¡± Akame:¡±there is nothing good about being like the masters. But I suppose not being forced to work all day for someone else would be pretty nice¡± Jess:¡±¡± I know right!¡± ¡°Hey Akame! Let¡¯s buy a house together later OK!!!¡± The years that followed were as happy as they could be for a slave, and Akame began to smile more and more despite the regular beatings. However a few years later Jessica was given to a noble from another family because the patriarch of the marks family wanted more power and kissing some asses didn¡¯t suffice and Akame was alone again. The day Jess was sold Akame swore he would do anything to get her back. But since the only thing that matters in this world is power, his only option was to get stronger. He started to train like a madman, spending hours hitting a tree with his bare fists until he almost passed out from exhaustion and anaemia before he finally went to sleep. But while he was sleeping all the blood he lost hitting that tree came back crawling and entered his wounds again, healing them. chapter 2 here is chapter 2, hope you enjoy it.
When i woke up in the morning i was completely healed but i had no idea how or why. ¡°There is no way the masters paid a mage to heal me and I highly doubt it would be god or else he would have helped me out sooner¡± i thought. However i didn¡¯t have the time to think about these things as i still had work to do. In the evening after my work was done i went back to the old oak tree. The weird thing was that there was no blood on or even near the tree even though i punched it so hard that my bones were visible. But as strange as it was it didn¡¯t really change anything so i started punching and kicking the tree again until i was bleeding. However, after a few minutes i noticed something on the ground. Drops of my blood were gathering together and were crawling up my legs to reach my wounds and then went back inside my body, and while i was lost in my thoughts, thinking about how something like this could happen the rest of the blood started climbing back up my other leg. It was kind of creepy to see blood climbing on your body but since it healed me and thus made my training last longer i couldn¡¯t complain about it. However after a few minutes i noticed that my wounds still weren¡¯t healed and the blood was still slowly climbing back up as fast as a handicapped slug on a sunny day. But best thing was that after I started thinking about it going faster it actually did as if it were obeying my will. All of a sudden, the blood wasn¡¯t crawling anymore but was just floating directly to my wounds. "i wonder if it can do other things" i thought while willing my blood to do something else. all of a sudden it reacted. it started to evaporate and formed a blood red mist, completely hiding my body. However it wasn''t really a useful thing as my body was hidden by a big, dense, red mist which wasn''t really discrete. I t was like hiding a torch behind a bon fire, it was simply drawing even more attention. And the smell of blood didn''t help either. I then once more willed the blood to change chape. The blood started to gather together in a ball of blood containing around 100ml of blood. There were many mages using water as a weapon so blood should be able to do the same as it is also a liquid. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. I tried to will the blood in the shape of a scythe. It took me a while to get the hang of it but after you understand how it works it is pretty easy to controle. I then threw the scythe towards the oak tree but all it did was splash some blood on it. I kept on experimenting with this for a hour before i gave up. I then willed the blood back into a ball to see if i could concentrate it more. And yes i could. Since blood was a liquid it could also be frozen and thus exist in a solid state, however since i controlled the blood itself i didn''t need ice magic to "freeze" the blood. but the result was just a plain ball of solide blood that would be able to kill small animals at most, but it had no chance to kill even a common farmer. I spend the whole night experimenting and discovered 3 things. 1) If i wanted to i could draw out more blood from my body.2) by controlling the chape of the blood i could make makeshift weapons such as a dagger or a knife and maybe other things. However there was a an issue related to my first discovery. I didn''t have enough blood. a normal adult body contains between 5 and 6 liters of blood, and losing a third of it is already deadly so my weapon options were already greatly reduced.3) My last discovery was that i could concentrate my blood. if i made my weapons out of regular solid blood then it wasn''t really that dangerous, it could kill a normal man if he were to be impaled on it but almost everyone in this world was training either as a warrior or a mage a,d even little farmer boys had the constitution of a rank three warrior. Strength made farm work just way more easy. However by concentrating my blood it would get harder and if concentrated enough it should be equal to a steel weapon. but the more i concentrate it the more blood i need so it is kind of a double edged sword. however i also had an id¨¦e that might solve my little problem. chapiter 3 this has to be the longest thing i''ve written in my life ;p
Akame spent the following days working, training and experimenting. He discovered a few useful things to spare some blood. The idea he had a few days ago worked perfectly. Basically all he had to do was to concentrate the outer layer of blood and fill the inside with normal blood, that way his attack did some damage but didn''t waste all his blood. the most interesting thing however happened a 3 days ago. He was going to train in the forest when he came across a wild boar. needless to say that a wild boar could easily kill someone like him. The wild boar immediately charged at him, thinking he could get a easy meal. Akame barely managed to dodge the charging boar but one of the tusks pierced his leg. The blood flowing out of Akame''s leg only exited the boar more as he charged again. But the moment the boar got too close a blood red sword pierced through his body, ending its life. Akame''s face was pale as he was lying in a pool of blood, but barely a few seconds later the blood went back to his leg and entered the wound again. His face soon regained color before becoming redder and redder. Soon his body began to hurt more and more as his skin turned more and more red. A few seconds later blood began to come out of his pores and his skin was beginning to burst and break at multiple places. He had never felt a pain like this one, however no mater how much it hurt or how much blood he lost he didn''t die because all the blood he lost simply came back inside, healing his body. after what seemed like an eternity, Akame felt his heartbeat go faster and faster until suddenly his heart burst. Akame spat out a mouthful of blood before it came back in once again. However this time his body started to feel better. His heart was regenerating and in its center there was a small hole where all surplus of blood went. It would have taken an hour for all the blood to get in if Akame didn''t control it himself. his Body was healed and back to normal except for two things. the first thing he noticed was that all the blood in the dead boar''s body was gone and it didn''t take a genius to know where it went. In his heart there was a small pocket dimension where all thee boars blood was stored, his blood was slowly flowing into the dimension as the bear blood went out and started to flow towards his spine where it got filtered and changed into a blood identical to his own. the next thing he checks out is the pitch black mark on his left arm. The mark didn''t look all that special, it wasn''t doing anything special however when he probed it all he got was an empty feeling, as if it was a wild animal restricted by he couldn''t get rid of. Then, when all the blood had been filtered he send the blood that was in his heart to the mark and let it seep inside and he could feel the empty abyss get filled. After 5 liters of blood had disappeared into the mark he felt good, as if a deep hole had been filled. When he probed the mark again he could beef the blood changing, a drop of blood was slowly getting strengthened as it merged together with the other drops. it took around an hour for the mark to finish, while it was fusing the blood-drops together a few drops of a pitch-black liquid came out of the mark and evaporated, disappearing for ever. When the mark was done fusing the blood, a single drop came out of the mark and followed his bloodstream to his spine, merging with it. Soon after all the mana in the area got absorbed by his body as the spine, as if it had learned something new, started to filter his blood, changing it into drops identical to the one that the mark had made. Soon enough the ''new'' blood started to flow to every cell in his body, changing it, strengthening it until eventually even his manapool became stronger. Mana is a strong form of energy, but it is also hard to control, it wasn''t rare that a mage got too conceited and absorbed too much mana but the result was always the same, when there is too much mana in a body it would get out of control and leave the manapool to enter the bloodstream en spread to all the bones and organs before destroying them. If you were lucky then the mana would first reach your brain and kill you instantly but if you were unlucky then it would go to your limbs first and slowly grind them into pieces before reducing your bones to dust and slowly rupture your organs. The longest process recorded lasted a few days while the shortest lasted a few seconds. The worst part is that it couldn''t be cured since it wasn''t an illness or injury, it was th body that was breaking itself down.Radiant saints could delay the process by healing the injuries continuously but they would need to keep healing the victim 24/7 and it would hurt like hell. however the opposite was also true, the stronger the manapool gets, the more mana it can hold. right now Akame''s manapool had grown to twice its original density. But even then it was still really weak. It could store enough mana for a basic rank one spell. . . . . . . . . . The next day news spread that the daughter of the patriarch, Lily was going to marry the 3rd son of the Byron family, one of the top families of the clan. The Marks family decided to hold a banquet in celebration and of course they send invitations to every important person of the clan. Akame was sent with a house slave to buy the things needed for the banquet. He had to carry everything so the house slave didn''t have to. During the trip they passed near a butcher so Akame let a few drops of his blood go take over the dead animal blood, he had already gotten 10 liter when some drops landed in a sewer and found another 200. The rest of the trip went without trouble, while he was walking the blood he took control of was crawling on the ground in a thin line and entered his body through his legs, however he made sure the blood would only form a thin line on the ground so than nobody would notice it. Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. the blood immediately got converted by his spine before entering the mark and his heart. The converted blood was as way stronger than normal blood which meant that the weapons he made would also be much much stronger. However a significant amount of mana was needed to convert the blood. Luckily Akame, unlike normal mages, didn''t need to meditate to to gather mana and he could just do it while walking. However this didn''t go unnoticed. . . . . . . . . The day of the banquet, many influential people came to the mansion and the patriarch made sure tu greet every single one of them. "Elder Brenton welcome to my humble home" "Elder Marks how are you doing, i think you know my wife Karol? Say how is our ''situation'' doing?" "ah yes him, nothing has changed yet and i haven''t heard of anything out of the ordinary. I can send someone to check on him if you want, or do you perhaps wish to see him?" "Yes but it would be best if our "relation" was kept secret, send him to do some work near the garden, it will be easier to keep it a secret if i am hidden within a crowd." a few minutes later Akame came to the garden to prune the hedges. he didn''t understand why he had to do it since he had done the day before but he knew that complaining and asking questions was a bad idea so he just did as he was told. However when Elder Brenton saw Akame he was completely chocked. " how dare he say nothing had changed? his manapool is at least five times denser, what kind of moron wouldn''t notice this?" he thought after probing Akame. Akame had strengthened his body many times already and had left some blood in the sewers so that he would get a new batch of blood every night so he had strengthened his body quiet a few times already, he had a way more resilient body and his manapool was finally of a normal density. When his manapool became strong enough he began to cultivate and right now he was at the 3rd level of the spirit realm which was pretty impressive for his age. But what surprised Brenton the most wasn''t how strong Akame had become but the fact that his manapool grew this much. normally a manapool never grows, because practitioners can''t strengthen it themselves. The only way to do that was to surpass a realm or through the use of heavenly treasures. Those treasures were exceedingly rare and even prominent people of great clans had a difficult time finding any, and when they did found it it would cost a great amount of money, way more than a slave could get over a lifetime. And even then a manapool would only strengthen a bit so for one te get ten times stronger was a never seen event. "it seems he might be useful after all" Brenton thought as he headed back inside to warn talk to his wife and the moron Marks. But a few minutes later something bad happened in the Marks mansion. All of a sudden a fierce wind blew through the mansion, extinguishing every torch and throwing everyone into darkness. Barely a minute had passed before someone conjured a ball of light, illuminating the room and exposing the dead bodies of a few slaves and some of the guests. Seeing the bodies everyone got in a battle stance and observed their surroundings. Knifes flew out and killed a seven guards before being followed by a a group of assassins, a fight immediately broke out and soon after the light went out again. Seeing that he could use the occasion to flee Akame quickly went outside and looked for an assassin which didn''t take too long. The moment he found one a blood red blade appeared out of thin air, he had made it yesterday after his body got strengthened, it contained 200 liter of his new blood which made it stronger than normal iron. He quickly tried to kill the assassin with his first strike and it quickly became obvious that he was stronger than him. However unlike him the assassin had fought many fights before and had some experience. Akame quickly got overwhelmed and got stabbed in the shoulder. thanks to his superior body he barely managed to avoid a fatal injury however with an injured shoulder it would become harder to fight. Akame slashed out with his remaining arm and tried to hit the assassin who easily evaded the blow and struck again, hitting Akame''s left thigh. Suddenly Akame got an idea and started to get back slowly and taunted the assassin to attack again. The moment the assassin was lunging forward he suddenly got impaled by a spike of hardened blood right where Akame previously stood. And just like that the assassin died. Akame immediately put his clothes on the assassin''s body, he then willed his blood to go inside the assassin and took control over the assassin''s blood, he then formed several spikes inside the corpse and shredded several parts, including the face. he then willed his blood to enter the hair, giving it a reddish color before he left the mansion and went to the office of the patriarch. There he stole a space ring and all the money he could find inside the safe before leaving the mansion and fleeing into the city. chapter 4 here is chapter 4. i had some trouble deciding where i wanted to go with this story so this chapter whas pretty hard and confusing to write but i hope it turned out okay
When Akame left he kept on running for a few minutes until he found a poorly guarded inn, he quickly entered through a window before finally calming down. the first thing he did was checking the content of the ring, in it he found some expensive looking clothes, a money pouch, some old opened letters and some other things. inside the pouch there were more than a thousand purple coins!!! a purple coin was worth a 100 gold coins which was worth a 100 silver coins which was worth a 100 copper coins. a single one of those was enough to cover the expenses of a family of five for few years. With this he wouldn''t need to worry about money for a long time. Akame then read the letters because well.... why not, it''s not like he had anything better to do, he had to wait till tomorrow to leave the city. The letters were the private communications between Elder Brenton and Elder Marks, as he was reading a creepy smile appeared on his face before he began to laugh hysterically. "HAHAHA so that''s how it was? That explains so many things HAHAHAHA good good, it seems my to-do list just got longer HAHAHAHAHA." The next morning Akame took a shower before strolling in the city. He first went to the bank to convert some purple coins into gold and silver, he couldn¡¯t pay everything with purple coins, that was just asking to be robbed. He then went to the market and found a small clothes shop where he bought a cheap set of clothes, he couldn¡¯t go on wearing his slave clothes and he couldn¡¯t wear the expensive clothes that were inside the ring because he couldn¡¯t risk damaging them, he still needed them later for his plan to work. He then went to the east door of the city, and looked for a caravan, it took a hour for the first one to arrive. ¡°Hey mister, where is this caravan headed?¡± Akame asked one of the men that were guarding the caravan. ¡°We¡¯re going to the blue wind kingdom for trade. Why, do you want to join us kid?¡± replied the guard ¡°Yes, I need to get to wake city and I don¡¯t want to go alone, there are too many bandits on the roads.¡±Akame said. ¡°Then you should go ask the merchant at the head of the caravan, I am only one of the mercenaries he hired so I have no say in this¡± Akame then went to the head of the caravan and talked to the merchant, he was pretty hard to convince and Akame had to pay the man a few gold coins but managed to join the caravan and leave the city. The caravan got attacked a few times along the way but the mercenaries easily dealt with them, most of them were already in the profound realm so they were several times stronger than Akame, if he had gone alone he probably would have died several times already. He of course made sure to discreetly drain all the corpses of their blood before the caravan continued her trip. . . . . . . . At that time in the mansion of the Brenton all the elders were reunited in the same room and all had a very serious expression. ¡°So the kid wasn¡¯t as useless as we thought huh?¡± one of them asked. ¡°Apparently not, for his manapool to get so much stronger there are only 2 possibilities, the first one is that he must have had extremely good luck and found quite a few heavenly treasures which is impossible because he never left the city and these kind of treasures take a few centuries to grow so there is no way anything would remain hidden this long in a city this big. So the only possibility is that he indeed has an enigmatic ability, and quite a useful one at that.¡± Another replied. ¡°Where is he now¡± asked Elder Brenton. ¡°He managed to kill one of the assassins and then made him unrecognisable before tainting his hair red and used him as a decoy, before escaping, I send a few people to look for him discreetly but nothing important has been found yet, but we did get a report that a boy with auburn hair and crimson eyes was seen in one of the shops near the east city door so he most likely already left the city.¡± Replied the intendant. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.¡°Find him, i don¡¯t care where he is or who he is with, I want him to be found and brought back here, we can¡¯t let someone as talented as him get away¡± . . . . . . . . . . . . The trip continued for several weeks before they finally arrived at Wake city. It was hard for Akame to say goodbye to the people of the caravan, afterall they went through many things together. They got attacked by bandits several times and fought together, shed blood and tears together, they lauged together. It was the first time people treated him like an equal, like a human being so of course this had a big impact on him. Of course Akame¡¯s lack of skills was quickly noticed, so they shared some of their knowledge with him and since he was quite a fast learner he quickly got stronger. And since he had the opportunity to absorb the blood of all the bandits they killed along the way, and since they were several times stronger than him the mark needed only a few litters to strengthen his body. Thanks to these two things he was able now able to fight off the bandits which of course made him very happy. After he had parted ways with the people of the caravan he went to look for an inn, he booked a room for a few days in the inn that was the closest to the commercial district and immediately went out. It was the first time he could explore a city and go roam around without having to follow someone or call someone master or mistress. He felt happy, he felt good, he felt¡he felt free. While he was walking he noticed that there was an enormous amount of people in the streets today and since everyone was talking about the same thing the reason why quickly became obvious. Apparently the reason so many people came to wake city was to participate in the void hand school selection tournament. Apparently the black dragon school was the top school of the continent and they had opened branch-schools in every major city of the continent, they offered an ideal cultivation environment to all the students they accepted, and the really outstanding participants had the opportunity to go to the main school in bluefire city where they would receive precious cultivation recourses and cultivation techniques along with various battle skills, or at least that is what the rumors say. And the void hand school was one of these branch schools. The tournament was starting in 10 days and was open to everyone but only the top 50 would be selected to enter the void hand school and to enter the black dragon school was even harder because you actually had to catch one of the elders attention to get selected, and it was so rare that the school had already spent a decade without selecting a student. . . . . . . . . . . . . The first thing he did was go to a restaurant and for the first time in his life he ate his fill. Many people take the small things in life as granted but to Akame who never got much to eat, let alone anything tasty, this meal was like a little piece of heaven. He then went back to the inn and started to cultivate using the green lotus technique he received from the mercenaries. It wasn¡¯t a very good technique but it wasn¡¯t bad either and frankly speaking it was better than nothing. He only had ten days to train before the tournament and he wasn¡¯t going to waste any of them, if he was going to get revenge he would need strength, and the fastest way to get that strength was through a good school. Ten days quickly went by and soon the time for the tournament arrived.
