0 - Prologue
When the gods are bored, worlds will fall. In the realms of gods 5 figures can be seen looking upon a world called Earth. From the faces of these 5 gods anyone one could see that they were bored.
"Earth has gotten so boring. The last exciting thing was that war that involved majority of the countries." ( God #1)
"It''s laughable at how humans try to not die even in a war." ( God #2)
"I know right. What happened to them fighting in armies using swords and shields? Now that was entertament" ( God #3)
"All agreed to destroy the Earth, say I" ( God #4)

Over the Earth cracks of pure white formed like the universe was splitting. The cracks grew larger and larger until the skies were no more. Then from the skies appeared 5 figures. These figures flew to the ground. The people around Bowed these figures as the figures had aura of a god. In the next moment the figures unsheathed their swords and beheaded everyone around.
If you were still alive, all you could hear were screams from others as they were running away for their lives. Over and over people died, blood stains filled the street and one young boy alone walked up to the mysterious figures. The mysterious figures surprised by the boy''s bravery stopped killing and waited for the boy to speak.
" W -why are you doing th-this" ( young boy)
"Because we are bored of this world" ( mysterious figure #1)

Surprised the boy cried like a baby. The figures unimpressed of the boys reaction went for the kill but just before they could the boy spoke.
"I-Is there anything th-at could cure y-your bore-dom without kil-killing us?" ( young boy)
The figures only turned to each other and stopped. For days and weeks the figures didn''t move. The boy just waited as if expecting an answer. Many tried to reason with the boy but the boy still waited. Some tried to forcefully remove him but all that tried, died in a flash.
The same went for those that tried to harm the figures as they stopped moving. In the end people left food and water so the boy wouldn''t die. After 48 days the figures moved, they went to the boy and said.
"There is one thing that would cure our boredom and that is ''The Evolution Games'' would you like to play?" ( All 5 spoke at the same time)
At that time a blue panel with words apeared not just in front of the boy but the entire race of humans. The words written;
Due to the bravery of a young boy us the gods ask you to participate in ''The Evolution Games'' please note that if any say no we will continue our original goal. ''The Evolution Games'' is an ancient contest to bring about an evolution to a species. This means you will gain powers beyond your imagination or die trying. Would you like to join?

That was the day Earth changed.
1 - Meeting the MC
Author notes: I''m bad at making starts so if the start is bad just say so and I''ll try to improve it. I''m also going to stop putting (God #1) after people speak. Unless you ask me to.
Do you guys think that introducing the MC by him living a normal day was good or just put him in the action straight away? or should this have been the prologue? Ideas for next time

1 - Meet the MC
We find our MC in a sports stadium. No he isn''t an gold medalist and no he isn''t a famous player for any sports. Our MC is currently looking at a computer monitor with a frustrated face. Our MC is a performance analysts of sport.
Concentrating on nothing but the video of two UFC fighters. Our MC works out the streghth, weakness and faults of each of their styles.
2 hours from when he started, he finishes.
Finally. That took way too long. I click the send button and fall back to relax in my chair.
"Hey Michael you finish with the Cody East and Adam Milstead match?"
"Yeah Sam all finished. Just printing now."
"Good because I need you to study Stephen Curry performance in last nights game"
"But Basketball is Johns job and my shift ended 10 minutes ago."
"Sorry Michael John has gone home for the night and I need the information ASAP."
"Send the Clip"
Climbing out of my chair I go to the staff room and get myself a cup of coffee so I can stay awake. I then return to my chair, download the clip and take sips of my coffee while I wait. Upset that I have to analyse more clips before I can get home I sigh and get to work. 1 hour later it''s finished.
I send the information and quickly leave before I get asked to do anymore work by Sam. Don''t get me wrong, Sam isn''t a bad person she just pushes as much work on to me as she can. Why? It''s because I actually do my job unlike most of my coworkers. And so more work gets handed down to me.
The worst part is that on days like today, where I stay back over time I don''t get paid for it. Due to the company policy I do not get over time pay and I can''t leave because I''ll get fired other wise. I reach the building complex for our appartment. Yes ''our'' appartment and no I do not have a girlfriend or a wife it''s just, I share the appartment with my best friend Artemis.
Artemis is a nice guy, easy to talk to, just has one problem he is a NEET. A person that stays indoors and does nothing but watch anime/cartoons and play video games all day long.. Walking inside I see Artemis in the kitchen getting something to eat. Artemis is about 5. 11 brown hair that reaches his shoulders. Blue eyes, pretty good looking and is fit. If you were to see him on the streets you would never think of him being a NEET.
"Hey Artemis what are you making?"
"Some spaghetti, want some?"
"Yeah I''ll just take a shower first. Leave it in the microwave"
"Okay"
While the shower warms up I take a look in the mirror. I have short black hair that shifts more to the right, brown eyes. My looks are average, not handsome but not ugly either. It''s a type of face you couldn''t spot in a crowd unless you were looking for me. Fitness wise I''m definitely better then then many.

But those days were gone when I injured my knee, nothing major. I can still run and jump around but I didn''t want to risk another injury so I quit soccer and do my daily exercise with Artimise to stay in shape. After the shower I eat the food that Artemis left and decided to check what Artemis was up to.
Knock Knock
"Hey Artemis what are you up to?"
"Hey just playing The Division it''s pretty good, sorry but it''s not split screen multiplayer."
"No problems I''ll just watch for a bit"
"Yeah no problems"
Artemis is a great player shooters, fighters, car racing it doesn''t matter. He will destroy you like he was playing that game his entire life. Honestly I believe he wins more money then I earn, and uses that support his NEET lifestyle. Their has been more then once that I had to ask for some money from him.
After watching Artemis play for a while I went to my room and decided to watch some news before I went to bed. In the morning I took the train to work just like normal. Walking on the footpath I walked into the person in front of me. Surprised that she stopped I was about to ask why she did, before I noticed that the sky was cracking. Shocked I could do nothing but look at the events that was happening.
The cracks continued to grow before the skies were white. Only silence could be heard, like no matter what no one could speak. 5 figures flew across the skies reaching 2 blocks away from where I was. Like everyone I went to see these figures. What surprised me was their aura. It was one that seemed like they owned the world. In the next moment the silence that couldn''t be broken, shattered. Only screams could be heard and people ran away from the direction of the 5 figures. Seeing the carnage of bodies without heads and blood everywhere,
I bolted away though the streets, never stopping, never looking back. It seemed like forever but I finally reached the appartment. Panicked I punched the door for Atemis to open up. As soon as it opened I stepped inside and closed the door. Seeing me like this Artemis just looked at me with relief.
"So you are alive."
Confused I just stared at him. As Artemis looked at me the more I was confused thoughts like how and did he know we''re the only things I could think. Artemis seemed to understand my mind explained.
"There are videos and clips of what happened all over the Internet. Because you take that route to work I was worried, but thank god your still alive."
Artemis then went on to explain that a young boy named James went up to the figures spoke a few words and now the figures are just looking at each other motionless. Time went by the figures still remain motionless and James still waits. Today marks the 48 day since the incident. 58 people died that day due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time and another 20 died trying to take James away or harm the 5 figures. Right now im at work watching Chelsea play Arsenal. Studying the technique used. When suddenly a blue panel blocks my view.

2 - The Rules
After clicking ''Yes'' i felt my consciousness unnaturally drifting away. I tried my best to focus on the game in front of me but no matter how hard i tried it couldn''t stop my consciousness from fading. opening my eyes i look around and find myself in a room that reminds me of a court room. In front of me looking down from the podium were the 5 figures that shocked the world.
"Hello Michael we are here to explain the rules to the game that you just joined." (God 1)
"So just sit back and listen for a while, any questions can be said after we explain. Is that all right?" (God 2)
The figure waves his hand and then points behind me.
"That''s ok." (Michael)
looking back i see a chair that magically appeared. So taking the figures advise i take a seat and wait for them to start.
"So ''The Evolution Games'' is where we create a situation that you must over come." (God 3)
"We could make it be anything that we like such as surviving a zombie apocalypse for a day or fight the end boss of a video game. (God 2)
"Inside the situation there will be a mission you MUST complete, without completing it you will die. (God 4)
"Also there could be side missions which will grant you extra rewards if you do them." (God 5)
"Are there any questions about the missions?" (God 3)
"How am i going to survive a zombie apocalypse?" (Michael)
"We will be talking about this later any other questions?" (God 1)
"Will all this take place on Earth?" (Michael)
"No this will take place in the dream state like this but be aware you will feel pain and can still die by normal means. Also you can host or join a party of 3. These will be your team mates and will help you to complete the missions." (God 3)
"Anything else?" (God 4)
"Will there be any problems having teammates?" (Michael)
"Depends on the person, missions are based on what the ideals and personality. So a killer will have missions based on murder, were a dog lover won''t have to kill a dog." (God1)
"So if i don''t want to kill i won''t have to?" (Michael)
"That is so but it will be harder to survive as your life will always be in danger. Also with teammates the mission is mixed." (God 5)
"thats all, continue" (Michael)
"So on to the rewards. After a successful mission you will get 1 win. After 20 wins you can end the game for yourself and go back to how you were living before. Instead you can could gain powers with those wins such as flying and super strength" (God 2)
"Or weapons like guns, swords whatever you can imagine." (God 3)
"We will decide the cost and if you can imagine a new power or weapon you will get a discount." (God 1)
"Extra rewards from side missions can be used the same but a lot more point are needed. Also certain powers and weapons need requirements in order to get them." (God 2)
"Any question for the rewards?" (God 1)

"How do i know the requirements for weapons?" (Michael)
"A message will be sent to your mind when you think of the power or weapon you want" (God 2)
"Is that it?" (God 1)
"Yes" (Michael)
"Now for the good bit as a gift we will unlock one of the following." (God 1)
"Ki the energy of the body. Can be used to improve strength and or speed." (God 3)
"Mana the energy of nature. Basically it is magic" (God 4)
"Psychic the ability of the mind. Can be used to move things with the mind" (God 5)
"Please choose one" (God 1)
Thinking about the option in front of me i can easily choose one.
"I choose Ki" (Michael)
One of the figures floats down towards me like how an angel would descend to earth. Lifting up its hand he pokes my forehead and a surge of energy flows from that single point all around my body. My body feels lighter, stronger and just better. while i concentrate on what has changed to my body the figure returned to its place.
"Now you also get the choice of one power or weapon that you could think of for free. What will it be." (God 1)
Understanding what he said i stop checking my body and think of powers that i always wanted to have. Flying, super strength are all powers children would love to have, But know that i need to choose one my mind is blank. i can''t think of a power that could help me. After what seemed like 10 minutes of going through my memories thinking of games and T.V shows i finally found my power.
"i would like super human reaction"
My thinking is that as long as i dodge i will continue to live. and not only that but i can study my enemies techniques and habits. Suddenly white light surrounds me and enters through my body to my mind. The process feels like pins and needle but in my mind. After a while the process finishes and i feel like nothing has changed.
"The process has been done. Any last questions?" (God 1)
"None" (Michael)
"Then by my power you Michael will join ''The Evolution Games'' and have 2 weeks of training before you start to play. Do you accept this?" (God 1)
"Yes" (Michael)
"Then the deal is done" (God 1)
The again the same unnatural feeling appeared and my consciousness started to drift away. This time i just let it take it away. Opening my eyes i am at my desk and the game has finished. After all that happened i left for an early break.
In the dream state
"So what do you think about Michael?"
"He made pretty good choices, better then most"
"But still not amazing. There was a lot or choices that would of been better."
"We can only watch and see what happens in the future"

3 - Training part 1
During my break i was thinking. That can''t be real. Powers and super natural abilities are for imagination and children not for the real world. But If that was real what am i to do? it just can''t be real but what about the 5 figures they looked like the figures from before.
wait why was i so calm inside there? did they do something to my mind? Well i''m not the strongest, i''m not the smartest and I''m bad at planning so what am i to do? All i know for sure is that things are going to change. After 20 minutes i decided to go back to work and finish up for the day. Nothing exciting happened at work, just analysing a game of AFL (Collingwood and Richmond game).
The only thing of note is that my work colleagues couldn''t focus on the work at hand. It wasn''t like how they normally talked to each other or played games on the computers. It was more like they were concentrating on something that was more important then work. At times i could swear that i saw fire on their fingers or objects floating just millimetres from the surface.
Thinking back on my choice of power i made a big mistake. Reaction really Michael, all the powers of the world and you choose reaction. Feeling a little depressed i go back to work so i could go home. opening the door to my apartment i am surprised to see Artemis sitting in the kitchen with his laptop on the table. Thinking that this must be important i sit opposite him.
"Hey Artemis what wrong?"
"Hey Michael your home so did you meet the gods?"
"What gods"
"Did''t you fall asleep at some time and speak to 5 gods?"
A sense of doubt come across me. How could they be gods? but then how else can i explain what was happening. Unsure i ask Artemis
"How do you know they are gods?"
"Many people asked them what they were and they told them they are gods. There are many rumours and discussion online to see if they are speaking the truth. But many people just call them that because it is easier."
"I see then i did meet them."
"So go on tell me what you got. Did you get flight, or maybe the power to teleport?"
Feeling regret of my choice i answer Artemis with a sorrow voice.
"umm i got super human reaction"
"...."
"..."
"Truly?"
"Truly!"

"Unfortunately like everyone else i can only move a pebble a little bit. From all the stories online it seems our powers are a weaker version of the ones we think of."
"So not only is an increase in reaction a bad ability it will be weak?"
"Yes but you can train it. Didn''t the gods tell you?"
"i only remember having 2 weeks and thats it."
"Yeah we only get 2 weeks to train and in the dream state we can make a training ground and train there."
"How did you know?"
"You have to ask the right questions"
After that Artemis and i continued to talk about others stories and what others powers are it was really enjoyable.Some thing else thats important is that all the missions will be in the dream state which is like the real world just in your dreams. Like when i met the gods. As the evening went on, night was upon us and we went to sleep.
"Welcome Michael to your training area. Just imagine what you want and it will be created but you can only do this once so be warned. Also you get one trainer to train you and this is from any and all games, books or T.V shows you can imagine. Want to be taught by batman here you can."
I "wake up" to a voice and an area of white. like the voice said i imagine a forest and it appeared. Then i wished for it to disappear and it did. An eternity later i made a good training area. During the process i made stuff then dis-made stuff over and over again.
But now my master piece is finished. So in my training area i have a pool that can increase and decrease in density, (the higher the density the harder it is to swim. imagine wearing weights as you swim.) a gym with the state of the art gym equipment, a mountain behind the gym with an area onto Altitude training, (google it if you don''t know) a forest and an athletics track used for training myself with the trainer.
Now the only problem who is going to be my trainer? I need some one that can understand Ki because i have no idea and someone to tech me how to fight. I have the perfect person.
