《Hero In A Monster Academy》 Prologue: A small talk ¡°Rain Leonhart no longer has a family, her parents died five years ago and she doesn¡¯t have a relative.¡± ¡°So what makes her different from other candidates?¡± ¡°She¡¯s smart, she was the top of her batch when she graduated high school and was given scholarship to other academies. It has been a long tine since we¡¯ve gotten a smart human, I highly recommend we get her to our academy.¡± ¡°What about her looks? She should at least be presentable.¡± ¡°Worry not headmaster, she¡¯s beautiful and has a very fine figure too. *drools*¡± You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.¡°Stop drooling over a sixteen year old you pedophile, I¡¯ll fire you.¡± ¡°P-please don¡¯t fire me.¡± ¡°So she¡¯s smart and beautiful, but is poor and doesn¡¯t have a family. This seems too perfect, not only does she qualify, she¡¯s also has good specs. Research more about her and tell me what you get.¡± ¡°Yes, headmaster.¡± Said the perverted angel as he went out of the room. ¡°So her name is Rain, this school year might be more productive with her around.¡± Said the minotaur wearing a monocle as he started doing paperwork. Chapter 1: Roommate Inside a limousine was Rain Leonhart, wearing her school uniform; a white shirt under a long-sleeved vest made from blue fabric with a red neck tie, and a blue skirt that covers her from her waist to her knee. Beside her were two bags, a black leather hand bag for her notes and books, and a blue traveling bag with a feather logo for her clothes. ¡°We¡¯ve entered the school grounds. You can no longer change your decision.¡± Said the well dressed middle aged man. ¡°I have no intentions on changing my decision, didn¡¯t I already say that?¡± Said Rain as she fixed the glasses covering her sky blue eyes. ¡°Then I¡¯ll show you my real form.¡± ¡°Real what?¡± The well dressed man¡¯s skin grew dark scales and his face became lizard like. ¡°I¡¯m your math teacher, and I¡¯m also a Dragonewt.¡± Though surprised, Rain showed calmness as she stared at the monster in front of her. ¡°I expected a more exaggerated expression from you, have you seen a Dragonewt before?¡± ¡°No, this is the first.¡± ¡°You could even talk back without fear, quite an interesting lady. It usually takes a few months to make a human accustomed to seeing us, but it seems that¡¯s not the case with you. ¡° ¡°Though I did not expect that, I did guess that you would show something that would surprise me, you did tell me I can¡¯t go back once I enter academy.¡± ¡°Interesting, really interesting¡± Said the Dragonewt as he returned to his human form. ¡°I¡¯m sure you¡¯ll fit in easily in sky academy.¡± They passed through three gates which were heavily guarded, and after the fourth gate, Rain saw the school facilities, including different monsters that didn¡¯t hide their true forms. Rain and Walter, the Dragonewt, got off in front of the dorm, which was used by both male and female students. There was someone standing in front of the dorm¡¯s gate, who seemed to have waited for the two¡¯s arrival. He looked like a human, except for his extremely pale skin, the bags under his eyes, and his sharp canine teeth. ¡°You are Rain Leonhart, I presume. ¡° Said the vampire. ¡°Yes¡± Said Rain as she lightly lowered her head. ¡°I¡¯m Josef Tepes, and I will be in charge of your safety.¡± ¡°Josef will explain your situation, but don¡¯t worry, aside from being the only human in the academy it will be the same like any other human academies. Well then, I¡¯ll be off now, see you in class tomorrow.¡± Said Walter as he walked away, leaving Josef and Rain alone. ¡°Should I help you carry your luggage?¡± ¡°No, it¡¯s fine.¡± ¡°Then I¡¯ll guide you to the room.¡± Rain was guided to the dorms, and as she walked, different monsters walked past her. There were a large variety of races there, though she could only name a few. Instead of fear, she showed interest in the beings that she didn¡¯t know of, which surprised Josef. ¡°Are you not afraid?¡± ¡°Should I be?¡± ¡°No, but this is the first time you¡¯ve seen other races right?¡± ¡°Should that be a reason to fear them?¡± ¡°You¡¯re strange¡¡± ¡°If the school wanted me dead, I would¡¯ve been dead the moment I entered the school grounds, yet I¡¯m here, being guided to my room by someone who¡¯s in charge of keeping me safe.¡± You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. ¡°It¡¯s not totally safe. Some may attack you when none is looking.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll think about it when it happens. If it does, it only means you¡¯re not doing your job properly, am I correct?¡± ¡°You¡¯re really strange you know that¡¡± ¡°I know, I¡¯ve been called that even by my kind.¡± When they got to the room, she saw two beds that were placed on opposite sides. The other has things placed around it, meaning she already has a roommate. ¡°Who¡¯s my roommate?¡± ¡°Me¡± ¡°You?¡± ¡°I have to protect you so I have to be near you even when you¡¯re asleep. Hehe, are you afraid since a male will be sleeping near you?¡± ¡°Not really.¡± Said Rain as she placed her bags on the empty bed. ¡°Unless you plan to do something to me.¡± Josef¡¯s face turned red as he said. ¡°I won¡¯t!¡± ¡°Then I have nothing to fear.¡± ¡°Seriously! There¡¯s something wrong with you!¡± After placing her things, Rain sat on her bed and listened to Josef who was sitting on the opposite bed, explaining why she was admitted to Sky Academy. Sky Academy¡¯s goal is to make the students adapt to the world ran by the humans, but it won¡¯t be enough just to teach them the concepts. Every year they let one human enter the academy to help the students get accustomed to a human. Though they try to keep the humans safe, there are times when student can¡¯t get a hold of their instincts, leading to the injury or even death of the human students. They pick those that have none to get back to, to avoid problems with the humans. Aside from Rain, there was one more human student, a third year. There was supposed to be another one but was killed by a werewolf last school year. ¡°That¡¯s all?¡± ¡°That¡¯s your reaction? One of your kind died and you might be next!¡± ¡°I have no connection to that person whatsoever, so I don¡¯t care if he died, and you¡¯ll protect me so I don¡¯t need to fear for my life.¡± ¡°Gah! Damn it! Why are you so calm!?¡± ¡°That, I do not know.¡± Josef dashed to Rain and pushed her to her bed. ¡°I could suck all of your blood right now and kill you.¡± Laid on her bed, with Josef on top of her, Rain remained calm and said. ¡°Do it, but the moment you do, you¡¯ll regret it.¡± ¡°Still acting tough?¡± Said Josef as he moved his head closer to Rain¡¯s neck. Rain¡¯s eyes slowly turned red as Josef pushed her ash brown hair away to see her pinkish white neck. As Josef got closer, Rain¡¯s sweet scent entered his nose. His heart started beating fast, and his face felt hot. He opened his mouth to suck Rain¡¯s blood, but wavered and jumped back.On the same moment he jumped back, Rain¡¯s eyes returned to its sky blue color. ¡°You¡¯re not going to suck my blood?¡± ¡°S-shut up! Y-you smell bad so I don¡¯t want to bite you!¡± After shouting at Rain for almost an hour, Josef guided her around the academy, without knowing that he could have died earlier. Chapter 2: Cafeteria brawl ¡°Be more cautious!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t talk while eating.¡± Said Rain as she put a spoon of soup in her mouth. ¡°Gah! Being wary of your surroundings come first!¡± ¡°I¡¯ll think about it when you¡¯re not with me, but since you¡¯re here, I¡¯m sure I¡¯ll be safe.¡± ¡°Grr, you¡¯re too calm!¡± Josef and Rain were in the cafeteria eating lunch. Though the classes starts tomorrow, the cafeteria and other facilities were active. It started a week ago, since most of the students, both new and existing, go to their dorms at that time. Though there was always a new human student every year, majority of the monsters still let their instincts act first, especially the new students. Right now different races are staring at Rain. While they were eating, a man with fluffy brown ears and tail, sharp claws and fangs, and muscular body walked to them and smacked their table. ¡°Yo, it¡¯s been a long time Josef.¡± ¡°Che, so you passed the entrance exam.¡± ¡°Oi, are you saying I¡¯m stupid? You want me to rip you apart?¡± ¡°If resorting to violence every time is not stupid, I don¡¯t know what is.¡± ¡°That¡¯s it! I just came here to say hi, but you just had to anger me!¡± Said the werewolf as his body got bigger, ripping apart his clothes. His face became that of a wolf and his body was covered with fur, though his nether parts was dangling around because he was naked. Rain thought it was an awful sight so she lifted her tray and went to a different table. Josef completely forgot about Rain and glared at the werewolf. ¡°You think I¡¯m afraid of you Marco?¡± Monsters were ranked by letters, with S being the strongest and F being the weakest, and currently, vampires and werewolves were classified as A class monsters. The two said races were also on bad terms with each other. The weak monsters went out of the cafeteria, while those who were strong and think they¡¯re strong stayed to watch the clash between a vampire and a werewolf. Rain didn¡¯t care and just ate her food. Vampires had the upper hand in speed, while werewolves had the upper hand in strength. The fight between the two powerful monsters was constantly changing, there were times when Josef almost won, and there were times when Marco did. The cafeteria was slowly destroyed because of their fight, and more monsters left, fearing the two¡¯s clash might reach them. Rain bought a second serving of food and stayed on the farthest table from the two. ¡°If you apologize now, I¡¯ll let you live!¡± Said Marco. ¡°Are you blind? I¡¯m winning the battle!¡± Said Josef. ¡°Though I hate broccoli, this dish made it taste good.¡± Said Rain as she ate. The battle raged on, until one of the teachers showed up and slammed their face to the ground. ¡°You fools! Look at what you¡¯ve done! You destroyed half the cafeteria!¡± Said the one eyed teacher. ¡°He started it!¡± Said Josef. ¡°No he did!¡± Said Marco. After finishing her food, Rain casually walked to them and said. ¡°Though both were at fault for acting like children, that wolf over there started it.¡± ¡°What!? You want to die!?¡± This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.¡°I don¡¯t¡± ¡°Y-you filthy human!¡± ¡°Watch your mouth!¡± Said the one eyed teacher as he slammed Marco¡¯s head to the ground again. ¡°Will Josef be punished? I¡¯m not good with directions so I might get lost if he isn¡¯t with me.¡± ¡°Sadly, yes, he did destroy half of the cafeteria, but since he wasn¡¯t the one who started it, he¡¯ll be off with light punishment.¡± ¡°So who¡¯ll guide me back to my room?¡± The one eyed teacher looked around and soon called a girl with pale white skin, long white hair, and purple eyes. ¡°You, guide this girl to her room.¡± ¡°Eh? Why me?¡± ¡°Do it and I¡¯ll let you go for freezing the pool.¡± ¡°I''ll guide her to her room even if it costs me my life.¡± The girl went closer and held Rain¡¯s hand. ¡°Let¡¯s go!¡± The girl dragged her out of the cafeteria and guided her to the dormitory for first years. As they walked, Rain felt the girl¡¯s cold body temprerature through her hand. ¡°You¡¯re cold¡± ¡°Of course I am, have you ever seen a warm snow woman?¡± ¡°So you¡¯re a snow woman.¡± ¡°Arg, I forgot you¡¯re a human. Since we¡¯re already together, let me introduce myself. I¡¯m Jasmine Rinett, a snow woman.¡± ¡°I¡¯m Rain Leonhart.¡± ¡°Say Rain, you stayed in the cafeteria earlier, correct?¡± ¡°Yes¡± ¡°That¡¯s quite brave of you, I mean, although I¡¯m just a B class, the two were still on a different level compared to others of their kind.¡± Hearing that, Rain became interested. ¡°They¡¯re not normal?¡± ¡°You¡¯re a human so it¡¯s normal that you don¡¯t know about it, but both are the heir to their respective race. Marco is the first son of the werewolf king, so it¡¯s obvious he¡¯d be the next heir. Josef on the other hand is the third son of the vampire lord, but since he was the most talented, he was chosen as the heir.¡± ¡°So he wasn¡¯t a simple vampire.¡± ¡°You mean Josef? Yeah he¡¯s clearly above the other vampires, though he has a major flaw." ¡°What?¡± ¡°It¡¯s only a rumor, and I don¡¯t know if I should tell you.¡± Though her face still remained calm, her eyes were beaming as she said. ¡°Tell me¡± ¡°...Don¡¯t tell him I told you about it ok? Promise me.¡± ¡°I promise¡± ¡°You see, they say Josef doesn¡¯t have the courage to suck blood and even now he still drinks from a blood pack. Pft, isn¡¯t it lame? He, the most talented vampire, still drinks from a blood pack like a baby? Ahahaha¡± ¡°So I¡¯m a baby now?¡± Said Josef who was right behind them. ¡°Ahahahahahahaha...bye¡± Said Jasmine, before running away as fast as she could. ¡°I¡¯ll remember this snow woman!¡± ¡°Please forgive me!¡± When Jasmine was out of sight, Josef looked at Rain with a slight blush on his face. ¡°I-It¡¯s not true, I don¡¯t drink from blood packs anymore.¡± From his reaction alone, Rain realized that he was lying, but didn¡¯t touch the subject and simply said. ¡°Let¡¯s go back to the room.¡± [] Sigh, if I keep this pace, it¡¯ll take long before we get to the first serious arc... Chapter 3: Tomato juice Though it didn¡¯t seem much for Rain, eating food with onions for one week straight was a harsh punishment for Josef, but he had to take responsibility for the chaos he caused in the cafeteria. Marco¡¯s punishment was to wear a silver necklace for two weeks. They can¡¯t runaway from their punishment because if they do, the truth seekers will find out and they¡¯ll be expelled from the academy. ¡°It¡¯s all that mutt¡¯s fault...¡± ¡°It¡¯s also your fault, if you didn¡¯t provoke him, then none of that would have happen.¡± ¡°But I hate him...¡± ¡°What a childish reason.¡± ¡°It¡¯s not childish! You don¡¯t understand! I just...¡± ¡°Keep quiet and accept your punishment like a man. Don¡¯t bother me while I¡¯m studying.¡± Since her tour around the academy was over, Rain decided to spend the rest of the day studying in advance. Reading is the only past time she has. ¡°T-then I¡¯ll study too.¡± Despite Josef¡¯s personality, he was the top of his school before. He has stayed at the top since birth, but it wasn¡¯t only because of talent but also because of his hard work. In the afternoon, Marco barged in, destroying the door of their room. ¡°Human! Because of you I have to wear this!¡± Said Marco as he pointed at the silver necklace around his neck which was irritating his skin. ¡°Marco!¡± Said Josef as he stood up from his bed. ¡°Beat it Josef, I¡¯m not after you right now! I¡¯m after that vixen!¡± Said Marco as he walked to Rain who was studying. Josef went between them and said. ¡°I won¡¯t let you get near her!¡± ¡°You really want to die that badly!?¡± ¡°You think I¡¯m afraid of you!?¡± ¡°Quiet!¡± Said Rain. ¡°H-how dare you raise your voice!¡± Said Marco. ¡°Didn¡¯t I tell you to stay quiet?¡± Said Rain as she glared at Marco. ¡°You know what I hate the most? It¡¯s being interrupted when I¡¯m reading.¡± She walked to them. ¡°Y-you think I¡¯m afraid?¡± ¡°Rain stay behind me!¡± ¡°It¡¯s ok, stand back.¡± Said Rain as she walked past Josef and looked Marco in the eye. ¡°Make this quick, what do you want?¡± ¡°I want to hit you!¡± ¡°You¡¯re going to hit me?¡± ¡°Of course I will, you think I won¡¯t hit you because you¡¯re a woman? Don¡¯t think too highly of yourself human!¡± ¡°Do you really want to hit me?¡± ¡°I told you I will!¡± ¡°So you want to prolong the time you have to wear that necklace?¡± ¡°Kuh¡± ¡°If you hit me, I¡¯ll die. If that happens, you¡¯ll probably wear that for a month or more.¡± ¡°W-why would they punish me for killing a lowly human?¡± Said Marco as he took a step back. ¡°Maybe they won¡¯t, but what if they will? I don¡¯t really know.¡± Rain opened her arms. ¡°Here, hit me with your strongest attack and see if you¡¯ll get punished from doing so.¡± Sweat formed on Marco¡¯s forehead. ¡°Tsk¡± ¡°What are you waiting for? Hit me.¡± Said Rain as she walked closer to Marco, with her arms still open. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°I-I won¡¯t forget this humiliation!¡± Said Marco as he ran away. ¡°Coward¡± Said Rain as she went back to her bed. ¡°Josef, when will that door get fixed?¡± ¡°I-I¡¯ll tell the teachers.¡± Said Josef as he ran out of the room, feeling slight fear from Rain who defeated Marco simply by speaking. Rain could kill Marco effortlessly, but she doesn¡¯t want to use her strength like that. She has lived hiding her powers, but in turn, she developed a way to fight back without using strength. Since she knew how Marco¡¯s mind worked based on his conversation with Josef, Rain was able to use words to defeat him. She only decided to kill Josef earlier since she didn¡¯t have a full grasp of his personality then. Josef came back with people, who fixed the door in just ten minutes. After that, their room became quiet, and Rain peacefully spent the day reading books. She knew the basic concepts, so she finished half a quarter¡¯s worth of lessons for all subjects. They ate dinner at the cafeteria, which was suprisingly fixed in just a few hours. Other students still gazed at Rain, but there was none that interrupted them. They also saw Marco, who just ignored them and sat on a different table. ¡°A-amazing¡± Said Josef who can¡¯t believe Marco was staying quiet. After they got back to their room, Rain slept, since she has nothing good to do. Around midnight, with none to see him, Josef awoke and pulled a blood pack from under his bed. He glanced once at Rain and after seeing her still asleep, he drank the blood. Vampires have to drink blood once a month, or else they¡¯ll weaken. Sucking blood has been a tradition for vampires, and they usually pair up with a monster to do it; most of the time a succubus or an incubus. Though drinking from a blood pack has the same effect as sucking blood, tradition is still tradition. Those who can¡¯t suck blood are either babies with no sharp canine, or cowards. ¡°So you do drink from a blood pack.¡± Said Rain who wasn¡¯t wearing her glasses and was still drowsy. Josef instantly hid the blood pack behind him and said. ¡°I-it¡¯s just juice, tomato juice. W-wait, why are you awake?¡± ¡°I just feel like going to the rest room *yawn*¡± ¡°...¡± He watched Rain walk out of the room. Once she was out, Josef drank the blood as fast as he could, so he could throw the pack before Rain comes back. ¡°Josef, I don¡¯t know where the rest room is.¡± ¡°I-it¡¯s not a blood pack.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t care if you¡¯re drinking from a blood pack, just guide me to the rest room.¡± ¡°I-it¡¯s tomato juice.¡± ¡°Yes, it¡¯s tomato juice, so guide me to the rest room already...¡± In the end, Josef guided Rain to the rest room while drinking from the blood pack. Luckily, none saw him. Chapter 4: First day[Part 1] The first day started with a two hour long orientation, which took the time of the two first subjects of all first years. For Rain and Josef, it was history and science. Every first years were gathered at the gymnasium, all lined up and facing the stage where six people were standing. Two wore clothes appropriate for teachers, while the other four wore school uniform with the addition of armbands. The first to speak was the teacher with a bulky body that¡¯s twice as tall as Rain, and has a face resembling that of a bull wearing a monocle. ¡°To the class of 2016. I now officially welcome you to Sky Academy. My name is Rigan Weiss, and I am the academy¡¯s headmaster.¡± He spoke about the school''s history, the school''s goal, and the school rules which Rain already knew from Josef, except for the severe punishment that students will receive if they harm human students. Marco, who was on the same class as them, had cold sweats as he heard what his punishment would have been if her really did hurt Rain yesterday. Once the speech was over, the minotaur went to the side, along with a person that has white feathered wings. The four students went closer to the microphone and the one that looked a bit like Josef spoke. ¡°I am Johan Tepes, the current student council president.¡± While he spoke, he glared once at Josef. Noticing the same last names and seeing the resemblance between Johan and Josef, Rain knew they were relatives. He had pale skin, sharp canine teeth, and bags under his blue eyes with shard like pupils. He even had the same black hair as Josef, though he looked more mature, cold natured, and intimidating. ¡°As you may have known, my little brother is already protecting the human student, but let me say this, if any of you harms the human student, I¡¯ll be your enemy. That¡¯s all.¡± He said as he stepped back. A pink haired woman, with voluptuous body and big chest, replaced Johan. ¡°This is your awesome vice president speaking!¡± The pink haired woman showered the whole gym with her positive attitude for the rest of the orientation. When the orientation was finally over, Rain and the rest of her class was guided to their room. ¡°So he¡¯s your brother. Is he the first or the second?¡± ¡°He¡¯s the second. Wait, don¡¯t tell me you¡¯re interested in him...¡± ¡°He looked like you, so I was interested.¡± Josef took it like Rain said she liked him, so he blushed. When they got to their room, they saw that a student was already there, someone who didn''t go to the orientation. ¡°Rain? Nice, so we''re in the same class¡± Said Jasmine as she stood up and walked to Rain who was still at the door. ¡°So you¡¯re our classmate?¡± Said Josef as she glared at Jasmine. ¡°Ahahaha, I think I got the wrong room, bye!¡± Said Jasmine as she ran to the other door of the room, but when she opened it, Josef was already there. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. Seeing Josef, she said. ¡°I¡¯m sorry! I won''t tell anyone abo-¡± Josef smacked her in the head once and entered the room, which was now half filled. ¡°I¡¯m alive! Mom, dad, I survived!¡± Said Jasmine as she returned to her seat. Everyone picked their own seats, with Rain seated between the window and Josef. Jasmine was right in front of her. Soon, a green haired woman entered. ¡°I¡¯m Lemia Cross, and I¡¯ll be your teacher in english.¡± The class finally started, and the teacher told everyone to write about themselves. They were later called to the front one by one and had to read what they wrote. Though it seems to only be an activity, the teacher was actually accessing the students based on what they wrote. Since she only said to write about themselves, what the students write about will vary, and she¡¯ll see their personalities based no that. Rain also noticed that and accessed her classmates herself. After everyone was done, the teacher ended their class and it was now time for lunch. Since Rain thought Jasmine was a fun person, she poked her and said. ¡°Do you want to eat with us?¡± Jasmine looked back and said ¡°I do-¡°, but when she saw Josef glaring it her, she said ¡°M-maybe next time?¡± ¡°See? She doesn¡¯t want to, so let¡¯s go.¡± Said Josef as he walked to the door. Rain followed and went to the cafeteria with Josef. There, Rain was given a variety of choices, while Josef only had one dish for him, fried rice with lots of onions. With a tray of food on their hands, they went around looking for seats. Though there was a lot of vacant seats yesterday, today the cafeteria was full. In the end, they were invited by the pink haired woman from student council to their table. ¡°I¡¯m Johan Tepes, Josef''s older brother and the student council president. Please take care of my little brother.¡± ¡°I¡¯m Lilith Aensland, the vice president!¡± Said the pink haired woman, ¡°Ragna¡± Said the black haired girl with an eye patch. ¡°Please forgive her, she¡¯s doesn''t talk much even to us. Her name is Ragna Irvin, and she¡¯s the secretary. By the way, I¡¯m Logan Decker, the disciplinary officer. If you have a problem, just tell me.¡± Said the bald man with green skin. ¡°I¡¯m Rain Leonhart.¡± ¡°...¡± Josef silently stared at his food with lots of visible onions. ¡°That looks tasty, don¡¯t you agree Johan? Ufufufu.¡± Said Lilith. Johan ignored Lilith and started eating. ¡°Don¡¯t be shy, we¡¯re all friends here.¡± ¡°Lilith, this is not the time for jokes, hurry up and eat.¡± Said Johan as glared at Lilith. ¡°You¡¯re no fun.¡± After that, everyone ate, with Josef crying the whole time. Chapter 5: First day[Part 2] ¡°Bye!¡± Said Lilith as she waved her hand and went out the cafeteria with the other student council members. Rain was also done eating, but Josef was still not done, since he¡¯s having a hard time eating the onions. ¡°Five more spoons to go, you can do it.¡± Rain couldn¡¯t do anything but cheer for Josef or they¡¯ll be late. As simple as he is, since it was the first time Rain was kind to him, Josef got pumped up and ate a bit faster. After the final spoon, with a happy expression, he said. ¡°Bere!(There!)¡± ¡°Don¡¯t talk when your mouth is full.¡± They got back to the room on time, and the next subject was math. Walter entered the room in his human from and said. ¡°I¡¯m Walter Dornez, and I¡¯ll be your teacher in math for a year, please take care of me.¡± Though he was old, he had good looks and elegance, making the female students squeal at the sight of him. ¡°Before we start the lesson, does any of you have any questions.¡± All the girl raised their hand except for Rain. ¡°Then, you over there.¡± Walter pointed at Jasmine. ¡°Do you have a wife?¡± Said Jasmine as she stood up. ¡°I do, and I love her very much.¡± ¡°Boo!¡± Said Jasmine as she sat down. Everyone else stopped raising their hands, but Rain replaced them. ¡°What do you want to ask Rain?¡± ¡°Please start the class, sir.¡± Immediately after that, the class started. In the middle of the class, Rain went to the restroom, and since she walked past it when they went to the cafeteria, she knew where it is. A few moments later, a group of girls followed. Inside the restroom, Rain was cornered by four of her classmates. ¡°Stop acting so high and mighty human.¡± ¡°You think you¡¯ll be safe because of the rules?¡± ¡°How dare you talk like that to sir Walter.¡± ¡°I won¡¯t forgve you for hogging Josef for yourself.¡± One of the girls was standing in front of the door, so Rain can¡¯t get out. ¡°If I did something wrong, I apologize, so please let me pass through.¡± Rain¡¯s calm expression further enraged the girls. ¡°Don¡¯t you understand the situation?¡± ¡°I do, but I guess you don¡¯t understand you¡¯ll get punished for this.¡± ¡°We haven¡¯t laid a hand on you yet, so we¡¯re safe, and do you think those rules will keep you safe forever? If you anger us we¡¯ll make sure you regret it once you graduate.¡± ¡°Ok, so let me pass through.¡± Rain still had her calm expression, like nothing they said scared her. The four was at the verge of snapping, but the didn¡¯t want to get punished so they went out. When the last girl took a step out of the restroom, she said. ¡°Don¡¯t forget, anger us and we¡¯ll show you despair in the human realm.¡± When all four was out, Rain said to herself. ¡°I already saw true despair five years ago, and I was the cause.¡± She bit her lips and clenched her fists for a few moments, until she relaxed and went out of the restroom. ¡°Sigh, they made me remember unpleasant memories, should I get back on them? No, getting revenge just because of that is childish.¡± If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. The classes ended after one more subject, and Rain and Josef went back to their room. Immediately after entering, Rain went to her bed and started studying. ¡°You¡¯re studying again?¡± ¡°I have nothing better to do.¡± ¡°T-then if you want, w-we could go out?¡± ¡°No, I like reading more.¡± ¡°...ok¡± Said Josef as he slowly walked back to his bed. Rain studied until dinner, while Josef just stared at her, happy and contented that he was alone with her. After dinner, Rain slept. Josef got dragged to her pace and also slept a few moments after she did. Around midninght, Rain awoke and went to the rest room. Josef was still asleep since he didn¡¯t have to drink blood. When she was on her way back to her room, she heard an exploding sound. It was far, but it was definitely inside school grounds. Soon, spores spread throughout the whole academy, making those still awake fall asleep, and those asleep fall deeper to the dream world. Rain was able to stay awake by entering the hero state. Increasing her body strength, and turning her eyes to crimson red. She dashed outside to find the culprit, but it was not one, it was not two, it wasn¡¯t even ten, but a thousand people with body made out of shadows. She hid her presence and observed them. ¡°Shouldn¡¯t they put more effort in security? Especially now that they have the heir of two powerful clans inside their academy?¡± ¡°Isn¡¯t it better? It made our work easier.¡± ¡°Stop talking you two, we still haven¡¯t taken them hostage, so stay focused.¡± Said the shade with reddish eyes. ¡°General, don¡¯t be shy, we all know you¡¯re the one most delighted by this.¡± ¡°I am, this could give our race a huge advantage against the vampires and werewolves, so of course I¡¯m happy, but our mission is still not over, so don¡¯t relax yet.¡± ¡°Strict as always.¡± ¡°That¡¯s our general¡± The shades started moving around the academy searching for the two heirs, but one by one, they vanished. It took half an hour before only the shade with reddish eyes was left, but soon he also vanished and once he realized it, he was in a world with orange land, red sky, and black sun. The other shades was there, every shades that entered the academy was there. They were all confused, they all didn¡¯t understand what happened. They have planned the attack for a long time and have mobilized the elite forces of their race for their grand plan, so they were sure they¡¯d be successful. They had to be successful since if they¡¯re attack would be known without them getting the two heirs as hostage, they¡¯d make the two races their enemy without an ace against them. Soon, all shades looked at the red sky. They all saw the same figure; a beautiful female with glowing white hair, and crimson red eyes. ¡°Welcome to my world.¡± Said Rain as she summoned a black sword on her left hand, and white sword on her right. Chapter 6: Legion A thousand years ago, it is said that the god who created the world fell in love with a human. They made love and the woman bore the first demi-god of the world. Their daughter had the strength of a god, but the mortality of a human. She got her white hair from her mother, and crimson eyes from her father. Soon, she grew up and made her own family, and her children also gained her abilities. Their family continuously grew, and slowly, instead of a passive trait, the demi-god¡¯s white hair, crimson red eyes, and immense strength became an active trait. Those that can activate the demi-god¡¯s trait were used by the humans to fight against the superior races, and they were soon called heroes. With their strength, both the humans and monsters feared them, and after the war, they secluded themselves. They hid their power and lived like a normal human. Soon, everyone forgot about them, and tales of their heroic deeds became nothing but fiction to the eyes of both humans and monsters that couldn¡¯t believe their strength. Now, in front of a thousand shades, was one of the three remaining descendants of the first demi-god, Rain Deus Leonhart. ¡°I don¡¯t have anything against you, but I have a few reasons why I can¡¯t let you take Josef. I could let you take Marco, but I don¡¯t feel like it.¡± ¡°Who are you!? And where are we!?¡± Said the shade with reddish eyes. ¡°Who I am is irrelevant, but didn¡¯t I tell you where we are? We are in my world, a world created from my ability, a world that exist between the world of imagination and reality.¡± ¡°What the hell are y-¡° ¡°In other words, I am the god of this world and inside, I could do anything I want.¡± Rain instantly appeared near the shade with reddish eyes. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll give you a chance.¡± They all wanted to attack, but their bodies didn¡¯t move. ¡°I¡¯ll let you go if you promise never to attack the academy again.¡± ¡°You think I¡¯ll abandon my duties!¡± ¡°Pick, retreat or die? The lives of your men depeneds on your answer.¡± ¡°We are the proud members of the shade clan, we will accomplish our duty even if it costs us our lives!¡± ¡°So that¡¯s your answer, too bad, you chose death in the end. Though it¡¯s stupid, your conviction is admirable so I¡¯ll fight me without restricting your movements.¡± Said Rain as she teleported to the sky. Soon, all the shades could move again. ¡°Everyone, gather!¡± Said the shade with reddish eyes. One by one, the shades entered his body, slowly making it bigger and stronger. Rain could have ended it instantly, but let them do their little power up, since she¡¯s also interested in seeing what they¡¯ll look like after they merge. The shade became a bloated mass of shadows, but soon compressed itself and reverted to the size of one shade, but this time, it¡¯s whole body was emitting red vapor. ¡°Are you finished?¡± The red shade didn¡¯t speak, he simply appeared in front of Rain and sent a punch. Rain blocked it with her two swords and kicked the shade to the ground. She remained on the sky and waited for the shade to stand up. The shade looked at the sky and said. ¡°So our unity isn¡¯t enough, it looks like we have no choice.¡± ¡°You still have a stronger form?¡± ¡°Brothers, looks like we have to become one entity.¡± He said as he clenched his fist. His body and the vapor it emitted slowly turned from red to purple, and his eyes became yellow. After his transformation, he spoke and it sounded as if a thousand different voices spoke at the same time. ¡°I will kil you.¡± He appeared near Rain and sent a punch. Rain still blocked it, but was pushed back. Shades can combine their strength to defeat a stronger foe, but what they used now was different. They used their life force to permanently join together and further increase their strength. It is called legion form, and it makes them a lot stronger compared to a normal unity, though doing this will burn out their life force which will kill them all in a few days or so. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. ¡°Even if we die!¡± The legion punched Rain again, sending her to the ground. ¡°As long as we accomplish our mission!¡± The legion descended from the sky and kicked Rain. ¡°We will do it!¡± The legion¡¯s attack created a large crater, further pushing Rain to the ground. ¡°This is all for the sake our race!¡± The legion was suddenly pushed away and from the ground, Rain stood up without any scrath on her body. ¡°You¡¯re strong, you¡¯re even stronger than my father.¡± She dahed to the legion and waved her black sword, creating a fissure and cutting the legion in half. ¡°And you¡¯re faster than my mother.¡± She waved her white sword, cutting the legion in to four pieces. ¡°But it¡¯s not enough, cause I¡¯m the monster that killed both of them.¡± The legion¡¯s body parts fell to the floor, but became mist and recreated itself. Though it¡¯s heavy breathing shows it took a lot of damage. ¡°When I once lost control.¡± She kicked the legion. ¡°They had to stop me.¡± She threw the black sword to the legion who was still in midair. ¡°But even with their combined efforts.¡± She dashed to the legion. ¡°They couldn¡¯t defeat me.¡± She pulled the black sword and cut the legion in half using the white sword. ¡°In the end.¡± She cut the legion in to four pieces with the black sword. ¡°When I snapped back, all I saw was their blood on my swords, and their sliced up body in the world that I created.¡± The legion recreated it¡¯s body again, but it¡¯s strength and speed drastically decreased. ¡°After that, I probably lost a part of my sanity.¡± Said Rain as she combined the two swords, creating a gray sword as big and as wide as her body. She raised the sword which started emitting gray vapor and waved it downwards, sending a large gray projectile that vaporized the legion¡¯s body. After her attack, the legion¡¯s body no longer recreated itself, and she was alone again on the very ground where she killed her parents. ¡°I forgot to tell him that I started liking books after that.¡± She teleported out of her world and appeared near the door of her room. From her slightly excited expression, she reverted to her normal calm expression and opened the door. There she saw Josef walking around in circles, and he looked a bit stressed out. Once he saw Rain, his mood brightened up, but became grumpy a second later and said. ¡°Where were you!¡± ¡°Rest room¡± ¡°Lies! I went inside and didn¡¯t see you there!¡± ¡°You went inside the ladies¡¯ rest room?¡± ¡°W-what choice do I have? I was worried!¡± Said Josef with a slight blush. ¡°I didn¡¯t know you were a pervert.¡± ¡°I¡¯m not! I was just worried!¡± Said Josef as his face slowly turned red. ¡°At first I thought you we¡¯re annoying.¡± ¡°W-what? I-I told you I¡¯m not a pervert!¡± ¡°But now I think you¡¯re interesting.¡± ¡°W-what are you saying!¡± Said Josef with his face beet red. ¡°I said I¡¯m starting to like you.¡± Said Rain with a smile. ¡°I-I-I like you too!¡± Said Josef as he jumped to his bed and covered his face with a pillow. Rain closed the door and went back to her bed, and as she closed her eyes, she said. ¡°Good night Josef¡± ¡°G-g-good night!¡± It might be the influence of her fighting and remembering what she did to her parents, but it was a fact that was she said was her true feeling. THE END! [] They said amateurs should start with short stories, and I''m pretty sure a hobbyist like me falls under the amateur category, so I hereby declare the end of the story. I introduced a few more characters and I have a few arcs planned for them just in case I feel like continuing the story(it would feel a bit like noblesse though), but since my summer classes would start tomorrow, I might not.
