《Journey of a Lifetime》 Chapter 1 : New Land ¡°Bye everybody!¡± I call out from the the dirt path leading to the harbor right outside my small town/island off the coast of the the continent of jewels, adventure, and mystery. The Continent of Fortuna is a place of where people of all races live and anything could happen to anyone. My reason for going to the Fortuna is because of becoming an Explorer. A job where you go to the most dangerous places in the world to search for treasure or knowledge of former races, it could be anything you could think of. The ship was filled with people trying to leave the island, but luckily I found a space near the stairwell. It was pretty small corner with that small place, I couldn¡¯t do what I like to do the most, which is to build things. Since I was little, I was always fascinated, how were things were made and how they worked. From then on I have made a few things that helped me with life overall, like the ¡°watch¡± I made. I came with it because I had always been late to everything, so I made a device to watch the time for me. I divided the watch into 4 parts which is dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight. As the day passed into night, we finally made to a harbor on the coast the continent. I was so happy to have land under my feet and stretch my limbs for the first time in like forever. The harbor was connected to a huge town with rock walls to defend from bandits or anything else. The streets were filled with merchants and vendors trying to sell their wares to those who were willing to listening. Looking down the street, I could see a magnificent building, made with the finest marble and stone. The building name was ¡°Reinfield¡¯s Explorers Branch¡± in thick bold letters, my face lit up with excitement. I rushed through the crowd of customers and visitors, and made it to the stairway into the building. Pushing through the glass door did I see all kinds of people. Most of the people looked like they have been many life and death situations. Their bodies seemed to be forged in fire to become the perfect human weapons. I was scared by their gazes on my bodies, it seemed to their eyes pierced my body to tell my every weakness. I made it up to the reception desk, to be greeted by women with a smile to stop a war between even sworn enemies. ¡°How may I help you¡± her voice sounded like the angels were singing. Shaking my head from other thoughts and said ¡°Where do I go to sign to become an Explorer?¡± As soon as I said that, roaring laughter ranged throughout the hall. The Explorers were all laughing at him, like they heard the funniest joke in the world. The reception women pulls my face closer to her face, my face turns deep red. ¡°You do know that you don¡¯t become an Explorer just by asking, you become recruited from a school or some sect. Everyone here has been to some sort of school or sect you do know that right?!¡± Pushing my head back I let out a small ¡°oh¡± and walk out of the building. Pushing it through my hair it straightin¡¯s hair out so I can make any kind of hairstyle I want. After finishing my daily routines, I head out to the city streets. The time right now was between dawn and noon according to my watch. Asking the locals, there is an event called Ascension. It means that you are able to become a higher power of society, if you show enough talent a person could recruit you. It happens every six months and the next one was tomorrow at noon in the city¡¯s Crane Mansion. I stop by the local bookstore called ¡°Scholar¡¯s Wisdom¡±. Inside there were books everywhere, they were in huge bookshelves taller than 5 meters. At a desk near the front was an old man reading a thick book in his hands, his face was filled with wrinkles and glasses that seemed it would break at the slightest notice. I walk up to his desk and say ¡°Hello Sir¡±, he looks up from his book and gives me a paper. It had written all the places where the books were separated. There were stories of old that interested him, one book had caught my attention. It was called ¡°World Builder¡±, the story was about a man who was the greatest inventor of all kind. He once crafted a pair of boots that could fly across the sky for hours on end. One day I thought to myself, maybe I¡¯ll be able to make that. Till night came, I never once moved from my seat as I finished the book about that great man. The storekeeper walked up to me and said in a deep voice ¡°Shop is closing¡±, the voice woke me up from my daydreaming. Thanking the man, I walk out and go back to my room to sleep, tomorrow was big day for me. Chapter 2 : Alfred Diamond As the Sun¡¯s bright encompassed my body in warmth, I slowly wake up and stretch my body for today. Picking my best clothes, I head out to the Crane Mansion. The Crane Mansion was on a hill that always saw the sun rise over the ocean. Upon the road, thousands of other people willing to show their talents to become someone not a nobody no one would remember. At the Mansion gate were 20 guards line up against the wall. ¡°Halt! Get in line for mandatory check¡± As one of the early birds I was able to be done with it and wait in huge hall able to house thousands. I waited near a pillar waited for about an hour before everyone had finished their checks. ¡°Please welcome Viscount Zarqis Reinfield!¡± A servant had called out. The man walked in with a whole entourage. The man was incredibly tall and super bulky in stature. He had blue hair with a scar mark across his right eye and had piercing blue eyes. His skin was fair bronze. ¡°Welcome to our annual Awakening¡± His voice seemed to roar like a dragon awakening from his slumber. Viscount Zarqis divided the people into 3 different groups, Fighting, Crafting, and Miscellaneous. I moved to the crafting line which seemed to be the shortest of them all, one by one people walked into a room and came out a few minutes later. Some even don¡¯t come out, I guess they got chosen. My turn soon approached, the man directed me into the room. There were 3 people there, one in their 20¡¯s, one in their 40¡¯s, and one extremely old man which I couldn¡¯t even guess his age. ¡°Show us something that would impress us to recruit¡± said the one in his 20¡¯s in extremely arrogant tone. It was like he was entitled to everything in the world, it was extremely annoying. ¡°To¡­Today I will show you an invention I made called a watch.¡± The young and middle age one gave a look of slight interest. ¡°One day you wish you could able to tell time even in a dungeon without looking at the sky or sleeping and waking up what time is it ¡°Clumsily I grab the watch out of my bag. ¡°As you know right now, it is between noon and the dusk. Walking to them closely, I showed them the mechanics of the invention. I scream in my heart with much joy. ¡°Mom I did it!¡± I say silently and walk out. Returning to the Inn, I pack up all my stuff for my journey. I was so excited I got there when sun was still in the sky. Along the way, I bought a notebook to draw out all of my thought and inventions. While waiting for the old man, I was daydreaming of what would happen in the future when I become famous. ¡°You do know when you see your elders you should greet them properly¡± said a voice. Flinching in fright as I look to find the old man from earlier siting next to me. Standing up properly, ¡°So¡­ Sorry¡± I said with much nervousness. The old man slowly got up and said ¡°Couldn¡¯t you stand up in the first place kid, you do know that I¡¯m old right.¡± Helping the old man to stand up straight, ¡°I haven¡¯t introduced my self fully. My name is Alfred Diamond.¡± Diamond? What kind of last name is that? ¡°Oh, my name is Marvin Wave¡± My hand reached out to shake his. Alfred hand was actually really rough and hard. It seems like he works a lot with his hands. ¡°Ok, Marvin from now on you will the disciple of Master Craftsmen Alfred Diamond!¡± He gave me a look waiting for a look of admire and awe but it wasn¡¯t there. ¡°What is that suppose to mean?¡± As soon as I said that Alfred walked behind the tree and was in fetal position rocking himself back and forth. ¡°¡­ Am I not famous that even a normal commoner doesn¡¯t know my name¡± Alfred quietly said. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, I lived on an island my whole life. But I could see a glint of mischievous in his eyes. ¡°Well then I should tell you, in this continent there are only 100 Master Craftsmen. And I am one of them. We are respected all over the Continent, and even a Kingdom Royalty treat us with respect. We can build the most powerful structures in the world, but for a nice price. I even constructed an item able to travel people without any horses or mount. It requires a special fuel and but the item took me about a year to make. The item¡¯s name is called a Wind¡¯s Breath. Chapter 3 : Questionnaire ¡°I have one question Master, don¡¯t you work for a sect or school?¡± His face for some reason turned to stone as I asked the question. ¡°Your great Master thinks that Sects and Schools are despicable, they pay very little money, every student think of you as dumb, and you have to work everyday, as best as you can for these over privileged kids. One life lesson never ever, ever do work or take up a position for a sect or school unless your bored with your life. Then I can see why you would want to do it.¡± ¡°Master, could you help me become an Explorer in the future¡± ¡°Huh¡­ oh yeah I couldn¡¯t do that for you.¡± Those words felt like a sledgehammer to my head. ¡°W¡­ Why?¡± ¡°Because to be an Explorer you need to be at least able awaken your body sprit and I don¡¯t know how to awaken another person. Along the 3 days on our journey, Master had told me some important information. There are about 20 kingdoms and 5 great empires on Fortana. This kingdom is called Raszer Kingdom. He also told me about which families or groups I should not offend. And the higher ones on the list are The Great 5 Empire Royal families, Creed Family, and Ice Dragon Sect. As we passed the gate, we were treated with the upmost respect and gratitude. The city was divided into 5 places which were the North District for housing. The South District was for the Marketplace, The East side was for entertainment which included theaters, and amusement parks of the sorts. And lastly the west side was for barracks and warehouses were. The Duke¡¯s Mansion was right smack in the middle with other noble houses surrounding it. Master¡¯s house was near the Dukes Mansion, but not as close compared to the other nobles. The city was so much fun, we had walked past stalls with delicious foods that made my mouth drool a bit. When we finally made it to the Mansion, it was really impressive. Outside there were a group of guards watching over it. There was a wall the height of 3 meters and blocked anyone of seeing of what was happening. They had welcomed us warmly, astonished by the construct. I had looked through out the house, looking into all the rooms. As I turned around at the corner, I saw a metal door. It had the words ¡°DO NOT DISTURB!¡± on the door. What was there? I walked up to the door and tried to open it, it had made me struggle before the door opened ¡°Woah¡± Chapter 4 : If You Want The room was very dim with a few rays of light coming from cracks in the roof, the moment I took a step forward¡­ A yelp of pain could be heard throughout the city. Holding my feet, I start jumping about trying to help relieve the pain. After the pain faded, I look down to see a metal ball¡­? After a few more seconds, my eyes adjusted to the dim room. Across the room lay wood, metal, and other kinds of things I don¡¯t know. ¡°You shouldn¡¯t go into rooms that had a metal door and a do not disturb sign¡± I jump back in surprise, to find Master there leaning on the wall. ¡°Master can you really stop scaring me like this¡± I put my hand on my chest to calm down my breathing. All of a sudden, lightning comes out of his hand and touches a metal plate on the wall. Suddenly the ceiling starts to light up, ¡°This is what I call artificial light, caused by using my lightning to charge it up. That is why there are no candles.¡± ¡°I copied this from an ancient blueprint I had found in some ancient ruins¡± There were many things in the room, a smithy, a craftsmen table, and more. In the corner of the room I saw what was a L shaped device. It had an opening on the top of the L shaped, it was circular shaped. ¡°You might want to move away from that, you could kill yourself with that¡± As soon as he said that, I pull my head back. A high pitched sound had blocked any kind of noise and had a sort of ringing. I look to see a hole in the stone wall, it had led to outside. Wow¡­ that small ball had drilled right into stone and came out on the other side. ¡°Master, what do you call it?¡± I look back at him, but in his hands the weapons seemed broke apart as it shot the ball. ¡°It is a failure, I give up. You could research this if you want, this could be your next project. Oh it is also called a A.P.R or Automatic Propelled Weapon.¡± He drops the APR on the floor and left. I walk up to the weapon and look inside it. It had worked by using a power source to propel the metal balls at high speed, and the frame was used to aim and control were the metal balls went. Hmm¡­ I¡¯ll work on this next time, for now I shall go back. Closing the door behind me, I rush up to my master. He was sitting in the courtyard, mediating. Something inside me had cracked¡­ My body seemed to move on it¡¯s on. My hand had moved up and banged the ground, within a second the whole mansion seemed to be destroyed. I stand up to find a cage of lightning enclosing my master and with a smile on his face. ¡°HaHa!! My disciple is a genius!¡± On master¡¯s face was huge smile plastered on it. He jumping around like he was a child again. We were currently inside the crater and it was about half a mile deep. But suddenly I black out, encased in a film of blackness. I slowly open my eyes to here some voices which I couldn¡¯t understand at the moment. There were three of them, and all of them were really old. They sat next to me as one the old man covered me in a green light and I was slowly feeling better. In about 20 minutes, the old man stopped and lean back, wiping the sweat on his forehead off. They are both very famous across Fortana, so be very respectful.¡± I look to Mr. Kent and say ¡°Thank you very much!¡±. ¡°It was nothing at all.¡± Mr. Kent sat up and left. ¡°Ah Master sorry to ask but why is he here?¡± I point over to the man sitting next to my Master. The man stands up and says ¡°I work for the Creed Family and you were prospected to join us. I will be back in one year to get you so be prepared.¡± He suddenly disappeared, ¡°Master who was he exactly?¡±. ¡°He is representative for the Creed family, he was nearby and saw your power. Chapter 6: New Place ----1 year later---- As the birds singed their morning song and the sun rises from the horizon, to give its rays of warmth and comfort. In the forest near Duke Oslex¡¯s city, one could hear the sound of rock breaking and yells of determination. Well that person was me, in front of me was a huge boulder. The size of the boulder was about 4 meters high and 3 meters thick. I was half naked and was drenched in sweat. ¡°Master, when I¡¯m done can I work on my project?¡± While I looked at him, I threw a left straight and next thing you knew was that the boulder was broken in many pieces of rock. Most of them flew away never to be seen again. ¡°No, you have to dress nice today because today is the day you leave. Pack up all your things, they are on their way.¡± Master was watching me from the tree while eating an apple. Rushing back to the mansion, I grab a shirt and put it on. The moment I open the door, the man from a year ago was right there just waiting with a smile on his face. ¡°Hello Marvin, do you remember me I am here to take you away¡± His words and his tone made him seem like he had a right to take me away. Suddenly behind him, Master appeared like a ghost, out of nowhere. He chuckled, but on the inside he was furious that the Creed family had right, a right to take his disciple that he cared deeply about. ¡°I have seen that you have already introduced yourself, but before you and him leave I like to speak to him in private.¡± The man nodded and took a few steps back for some privacy. ¡°My disciple today is the day when you leave¡­ And I would like to give you something¡± He pulls something out of his pocket and tells me to open my hand. Also in his eyes you can see water starting to appear. The man turns around to see me running to him and when I stopped, he asked ¡°Are you ready?¡± I give him a meaningful glare of despise. ¡°Ok then let¡¯s go!¡± All of a sudden an energy lifts me up and flew straight into the sky. Everything seemed to be a blur. We must¡¯ve been moving faster than sound, underneath us were different terrains from forests, deserts, and marshlands. Within an hour, there was a distant mountain that reached higher than the clouds. Next to the mountain laid a huge forest with cloud reaching trees. Just from the looks, it gave off a domineering pressure. We came to immediate stop as two people flew up in our way. One of them with a bulky build called out ¡°Who goes there?!¡± ¡°It is Secretary Caniff, do you not know your superior!!¡± The man calls out, and as soon as the man called out both of the youths immediately bow and move out of the way. We slowly fly past and didn¡¯t even give us a glance. After a certain distance, the man puts his hand in the air, out of nowhere there appeared a huge gate. It was miles upon miles in the air, it seemed to made of a strange material. With a push of hand, the seemingly huge doors opened. As it opened, I could see inside. Surprisingly there were people walking around, with shops open and vendors opening up shop. ¡°Inside the creed residence, people¡¯s family¡¯s are able to stay here with them. But there is an annual pay of thousands of gold. Most of these people are high ranking official family members. But enough with this, we will be heading to the Mt Thousand Gold
